- 0:01When we experience some digestive upset, we tend to
- 0:05engage the mind to try to figure out what the problem is.
- 0:09And as a result, we work on adjusting our diet concluding
- 0:14that there are certain foods that don't work for us and we
- 0:17spend countless hours looking at the issues surrounding, our
- 0:21body's ability to digest, and assimilate the food we eat and
- 0:26the implications of any imbalances that occur.
- 0:30In some cases, there are actual issues caused by the food or the
- 0:35preparation of it, but in many cases, we get to a level of
- 0:39sensitivity that we are always fussing about what works and
- 0:43what does not work for us. The more attention, we pay to
- 0:48this ever finer, sensitivity, the greater the influence of the
- 0:52mind on the digestive process, mental intervention in
- 0:57digestion, is an area that causes a great deal of
- 1:00Disruption to the body's normal functioning.
- 1:05The mother makes several important points in this regard
- 1:08first. If one is eating ones, normal
- 1:11diet, it is clear. That it is not the specific
- 1:14Foods involved, that are causing the disruption.
- 1:18So the attempt to micromanage the diet is simply an act of the
- 1:22Mind interference in the process second much of the disruption of
- 1:27the digestive process is actually due to emotional or
- 1:31mental issues, which impact the body. including anxiety, worry
- 1:37where some kind of distress in one's life or relationships
- 1:42rather than micromanaging the digestion and thereby further in
- 1:46balancing the bodies operations, it is best to let the body
- 1:50continue, its normal action, and bring peace to the mind and the
- 1:55emotions, the mother notes, quote, when I was 20, the doctor
- 2:02told me that in cases of troubles of the Stomach or
- 2:05intestines, the best thing is to continue eating as usual and not
- 2:10to bother about the trouble. He said if you have acidity, it
- 2:15will come from whatever food you take and the more you bother
- 2:19about it, the more it will increase.
- 2:22If you go on changing your food in the end, you will find that
- 2:25you cannot even drink a drop of water without getting into
- 2:28trouble, but if you remain normal and don't worry, you will
- 2:33become alright. And I have found this advice to
- 2:36be quite true in the effect of food on the body. 90% belongs to
- 2:42the power of thought. and quote, reference SRI aurobindo in the
