- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, Christians.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: This is Dallas Beecham.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Throughout Scripture, God uses the picture of a wedding to describe the joy of belonging to Christ.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: A wedding is not only the end of waiting, it is the beginning of life together.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: The bridegroom arrives, the prepared guests enter, and the celebration begins.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Revelations 19, 6 and 7 records a sound like many waters and mighty thundering saying, Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him, for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: That last statement deserves our attention.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: His wife hath made herself ready.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Salvation begins with God's grace, but grace does not leave us unchanged.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: The Spirit seals us, teaches us, corrects us, and prepares us for Christ.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Revelation says the bride was arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, and explains that the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Then comes this invitation in Revelation nineteen and nine.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Imagine all the invitations people desire in this life to a banquet, an important ceremony, or the home of someone famous.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: None can compare with the invitation to the supper of the Lamb.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Jesus spoke of a great supper in Luke 14.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Those first invited began making excuses.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: One had brought land, another had purchased oxen, another had married a wife.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: None of those things was sinful in itself, but each became more important than the invitation.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: The warning is plain.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: We must not allow ordinary concerns to cause us to miss an eternal calling.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Jesus also spoke of the ten virgins who waited for the bridegroom.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: When the midnight cry came, those who were ready went in with him to the marriage.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Readiness could not be borrowed at the last moment.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Each person needed oil in the vessel.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: That picture fits the message of the Spirit's seal.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: God does not merely invite us to admire the bridegroom from a distance.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: He calls us to receive his promise, live faithfully, and be ready when Christ appears.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: The marriage supper also tells us something beautiful about the heart of God.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: The future of the faithful is not pictured only as escape from judgment.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: It is pictured as welcome, fellowship, joy, and belonging.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: The one who redeemed us wants his people at his table.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: After the resurrection and the gathering in the air, the saints are with the Lord.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: The long separation is over.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: The bride has made herself ready, and the marriage supper announces that the promised union has come.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: But the story does not end at the supper.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: The returning king has a kingdom to establish.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: The saints who meet him will also reign with him.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow we will see the king take his rightful place at the long promised thousand year reign.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I hope today's message has touched your heart and causes you to have a good day.
