- 0:45Speaker 3: where the evid indoorsman? Every one? Hello, how are you buddy?
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm doing great, pal, just enjoying this beautiful fall weather.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I stosen't mean it's like barely fall weather.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I know, it's the best. Yeah, it was like this
- 1:04Speaker 1: all the time. I'd be great. Yeah, slightly chilled. There's
- 1:08Speaker 1: like a little chill here.
- 1:10Speaker 3: It's that it's that weird kind of weather where when
- 1:13Speaker 3: I bring the kids to the bus stop, I'm like cold, right,
- 1:18Speaker 3: and I'm like all right, we gotta wear jackets. And
- 1:21Speaker 3: then by the time they get off the bus, it's
- 1:25Speaker 3: like there's in a T shirt. Ye, so yes, it's
- 1:32Speaker 3: that kind of weather, but I just a weather T shirt.
- 1:35Speaker 3: But yes, yes, perfect weather to go to the apple orchard.
- 1:41Speaker 3: And that is what I did this weekend.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:45Speaker 4: How was it?
- 1:46Speaker 3: It was so much fun. We went and tried a
- 1:48Speaker 3: new place that I've never been to. Usually we go
- 1:52Speaker 3: to this place that's only like twenty minutes south of
- 1:54Speaker 3: US sure, but we decided to go a little bit further.
- 1:58Speaker 3: We went down to Jordan, Minnesota. There's a place called
- 2:04Speaker 3: Ferguson's and the property is huge.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that place is enormous, right.
- 2:10Speaker 3: It's enormous. There's so many things to do for the kids.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Cool.
- 2:15Speaker 3: We did like a corn maze and then they have
- 2:17Speaker 3: these giant like pits filled with corn so it's like
- 2:21Speaker 3: a corn. They had like this big, like jumpy thing
- 2:28Speaker 3: that looked like a pumpkin. They had hay rides. Say,
- 2:31Speaker 3: I mean, it was just like non stop fun. And
- 2:37Speaker 3: because it's the Vikings Bye week, I definitely recognized our
- 2:42Speaker 3: current quarterback with his family really fun and my kids
- 2:47Speaker 3: were just jumping around with Carson Wentz's kids, so that
- 2:51Speaker 3: was kind of fun. And dude, he didn't get talked
- 2:56Speaker 3: to once like, I was pretty I was pretty impressed
- 2:59Speaker 3: by people just not knowing or just being respectful.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Honestly, good job everybody, that's pretty cool. Yep.
- 3:09Speaker 3: But I was telling bugs before this, I'm a little
- 3:12Speaker 3: full because Kelsey decided to make a delicious apple crisp
- 3:18Speaker 3: from all the.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Apple elliect didn't ask, are we're doing whipped cream on this?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Are we doing ice ice cream?
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah? That's that's right. I mean it's just right. I
- 3:30Speaker 1: love it, Okay, I love.
- 3:31Speaker 3: It so and I didn't need it. I was full
- 3:34Speaker 3: after dinner, and then it was like, what about the
- 3:36Speaker 3: apple cris was.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Like you were like, well, I'm I'm not saying no
- 3:40Speaker 1: to that. Absolutely. If I do, just put me out
- 3:44Speaker 1: of my misery exactly.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But a little sluggish, a little on the full side.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yes, Oh well that's fun. Man. Is that the one
- 3:57Speaker 1: I think I've been to? That one? Is it right
- 4:00Speaker 1: next to that giant candy store? Like the same egg
- 4:02Speaker 1: right to it?
- 4:04Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, we don't go.
- 4:06Speaker 1: The ones we go that way?
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. We did end up going to the largest
- 4:12Speaker 3: candy store in Minnesota afterwards.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Of course you should.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I'd never been in there. It was the kids first time. Dude,
- 4:19Speaker 3: it's wild. I will never go back in there, at
- 4:23Speaker 3: least not Saturday PM.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I bet it was nuts in there.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Was insanity, dude, it was crazy.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I love it. I love it.
- 4:35Speaker 3: But lots of different kinds of candy, lots of fun
- 4:37Speaker 3: stuff going on.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they had lots of I have been there for
- 4:40Speaker 1: years now, but they had lots of like English candy
- 4:43Speaker 1: at a time when that wasn't a thing you could find.
- 4:46Speaker 3: They have all doubt.
- 4:47Speaker 1: They just have everything now.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I think.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I think it's like, what's the biggest one.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I went and it was, Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 4:54Speaker 1: How much she dropping there? Several thousand?
- 4:57Speaker 3: No, they they do only take cash and they have
- 5:01Speaker 3: an ATM there, and so I was like, I'm not
- 5:03Speaker 3: taking out more than good dollars. There's no chance I'm
- 5:06Speaker 3: taking out more than one hundred and we I think
- 5:09Speaker 3: we had sound like sixty bucks. But I bought stuff
- 5:11Speaker 3: for like my folks, and like.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's a good restraint. Yeah cool, I'll pick up my
- 5:17Speaker 1: candy next time I see it.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Nor Yeah, yeah, I got you a nut, goodie you.
- 5:23Speaker 3: So I didn't really, I didn't.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I didn't do it, guys.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I wouldn't do that to you.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I got him a good nutty. Uh, buddy, it was
- 5:34Speaker 1: what have you been watching any films?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yes, So I'm I'm deciding to pivot because today I
- 5:42Speaker 3: actually watched a film because I saw that Shane Black,
- 5:46Speaker 3: who wrote and directed the movie that we are talking
- 5:51Speaker 3: about today, had a brand new movie come out. I
- 5:55Speaker 3: believe it was this weekend and it was called Play Dirty.
- 6:01Speaker 3: It is straight to Prime. Pretty big cast. We got
- 6:06Speaker 3: Mark Wahlberg, we got the Keith Stanfield, Keegan, Michael Key,
- 6:11Speaker 3: Thomas Jane, Tony Shaloub, we got a bunch of folks.
- 6:16Speaker 3: And it's like thieves that are It's like kind of
- 6:21Speaker 3: heisty love.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It all good ingredients.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yes, And I was like hooked in the beginning and
- 6:29Speaker 3: then it just got long, like it ends up being
- 6:32Speaker 3: like two hours.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Ye.
- 6:34Speaker 3: And I felt like the last like forty minutes. I
- 6:37Speaker 3: just I was like actively like, let's move it along, guys,
- 6:41Speaker 3: Like I feel like it gets really convoluted, it just
- 6:47Speaker 3: gets real messy. Yeah. And they also got very ambitious
- 6:56Speaker 3: with what they wanted to happen, like cinematically, so we
- 7:01Speaker 3: had some pretty serious CGI stuff going on, and you
- 7:04Speaker 3: could tell that they just didn't have that kind of budget. Yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 3: and that's always distracting for.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Me, uh man, because it's like just make it, like,
- 7:16Speaker 1: find a cooler way to do it, because there's yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 1: there are ways I can't. I'm not saying I could
- 7:20Speaker 1: do it, but you know, like these folks. Finally, Yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: that's a bummer.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah. So I ended up not loving it very much.
- 7:28Speaker 3: And I really really love Shane Black. I love writing
- 7:32Speaker 3: and like rite out the Gate, like all the dialogue,
- 7:35Speaker 3: it's really quick, snappy. We were like, it's going to
- 7:38Speaker 3: be really fun, and then then it just kind of
- 7:40Speaker 3: keeps going bomber. Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Well I've never heard of it, and now I'm never
- 7:46Speaker 1: going to watch it.
- 7:47Speaker 3: There. Yeah, if you got, you know, nothing better to do,
- 7:51Speaker 3: I guess very very violent, very violent, lots of lots
- 7:57Speaker 3: of shooting. Oh but yeah, played dirty. It's on Prime
- 8:03Speaker 3: play Dirty. It is not my favorite thing I've ever seen.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Bummer, bummer, but it happens.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It does.
- 8:12Speaker 1: What are you gonna do? I like it? Yeah?
- 8:15Speaker 3: What was the last movie you watched?
- 8:16Speaker 1: I went to the theater and I saw a movie
- 8:19Speaker 1: called Splitsville. Have you seen a preview for this or anything?
- 8:23Speaker 3: I know all about Splitsville?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, cool. Well, then for everyone else, I thought
- 8:29Speaker 1: it looked good. Features Dakota Johnson, Atria, Ariona or r Shona.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I think it's our honah and.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Both ways.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Okay, she is beautiful and she's She was.
- 8:43Speaker 1: In that Glenn Powell movie where he was like all
- 8:46Speaker 1: the different characters, right, and she was really good than
- 8:48Speaker 1: that too. Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I think she was in the and Or series as well,
- 8:55Speaker 3: which she's currently dating Jason Momoa. Oh stop pipped YEA
- 9:01Speaker 3: power couple.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Wow. I wish I could have her life, I mean
- 9:04Speaker 1: his life.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I mean.
- 9:07Speaker 1: The two dudes I had not heard of. One of
- 9:10Speaker 1: them wrote and directed. Actually they both wrote it apparently
- 9:13Speaker 1: I'm finding out just the second and the other one
- 9:16Speaker 1: wrote and directed it, so I didn't recognize them. This
- 9:19Speaker 1: is a really weird, fun movie. It's about like two
- 9:24Speaker 1: couples that are friends. There's like some some Splitsville happening,
- 9:31Speaker 1: and then we find out one of the couples has
- 9:34Speaker 1: like an open situation going on, and then they crossed
- 9:39Speaker 1: the streams and then all hell breaks loose. It is
- 9:46Speaker 1: the wackiest movie I've seen in a long time, in
- 9:49Speaker 1: a very fun way, Like it was very crazy. I
- 9:53Speaker 1: laughed out loud a ton of times. It is kind
- 9:56Speaker 1: of dark comedy at points, you know, like a little
- 9:59Speaker 1: liken realistic and whatever. But yeah, it's a it's a
- 10:02Speaker 1: rom man, it was. It's nuts. Things go in directions
- 10:07Speaker 1: you don't expect. It's an hour forty five, but it
- 10:11Speaker 1: does not feel long even a little bit. It's crazy
- 10:14Speaker 1: how those fifteen minutes can make such a big difference,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:17Speaker 3: But I mean, if you're invested and you're enjoying the plot,
- 10:20Speaker 3: you can keep going.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But if it's bad and it's long, you're like, dang.
- 10:25Speaker 3: It, come on, Yeah, moving on.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I really liked this movie a lot. I thought it
- 10:29Speaker 1: was a ton of fun. Yeah, I just it was crazy,
- 10:34Speaker 1: it was bonkers.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I just am loving all of Dakota Johnson's choices, all
- 10:41Speaker 3: the coolest choices. She's making cool movies. Man. Yeah she's
- 10:44Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't watch Madam Webb and I heard
- 10:47Speaker 3: that was a train wreck. But like her, like smaller her, smaller,
- 10:52Speaker 3: like indie movies. She is crushing.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, she's killing it man. Yeah, she's really fun. And
- 11:00Speaker 1: I really liked the lead dude in this Kyle Marvin
- 11:04Speaker 1: was his name. He was the one who helped write
- 11:06Speaker 1: but not directed it, and I liked him a lot.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I thought he was great. So cool, it's worth checking out.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Like I said, I think it's in theater still, but
- 11:15Speaker 1: it'll prib be streaming at some point. I don't really
- 11:17Speaker 1: know how that works, but yeah, go check it out.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I will.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Have you been streaming anything?
- 11:23Speaker 3: I sure have. I went over to Apple TV Plus
- 11:26Speaker 3: and I binged the second season of Platonic in a
- 11:32Speaker 3: very fast fashion. I love that love that show. I
- 11:36Speaker 3: love Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. I love their chemistry together.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Hell yeah, it's just so much fun. The surrounding characters
- 11:45Speaker 3: are also a good time in this. Not huge names,
- 11:48Speaker 3: but people that you recognize. If you liked the first season,
- 11:52Speaker 3: you'll definitely like the second season. And yeah, just a
- 11:56Speaker 3: very big year for Seth Rogan and an Apple TV shows.
- 12:01Speaker 3: He's just killing it with this in the studio nice.
- 12:04Speaker 3: So yeah, these are I think these are only like
- 12:08Speaker 3: half hour episodes, maybe forty minutes.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty season one. I'm excited to watch season two.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I didn't realize it was already out. That's great, that's great.
- 12:17Speaker 3: It just finished up and I saw the last episode
- 12:21Speaker 3: come out, so I was just like, let's get this
- 12:22Speaker 3: done nice.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It was a good timing, bud, good timing.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Love it.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Love that. I'm going to pivot fun. I'm going to
- 12:32Speaker 1: talk about a show that I almost nailed the timing
- 12:36Speaker 1: on but not quite okay, because I watched in rapid
- 12:41Speaker 1: succession myself the first six episodes of Task and just.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I'm caught up as well.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Real good dude, it was a full ride. Yeah, really
- 12:52Speaker 1: really fun.
- 12:53Speaker 3: It is that the six episode isn't the last episode.
- 12:56Speaker 1: No, there's one. That's why I'm saying. So I watched
- 12:58Speaker 1: the one last night and then I was like, but
- 13:00Speaker 1: there's one more. Just watched all of it. Yeah, that's
- 13:04Speaker 1: what it says online. So they got a lot to
- 13:08Speaker 1: do in the last episode.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I wonder if it's gonna be like a two hour
- 13:10Speaker 3: episode or something.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It might be. I don't know.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I feel like to wrap up.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I really like it. If you
- 13:20Speaker 1: guys are okay with some like you know, kind of
- 13:23Speaker 1: serious stuff. It's not like a it's not too big
- 13:26Speaker 1: of a bummer, but there's definitely violence and you know,
- 13:29Speaker 1: some some killings and things. But really good show is
- 13:34Speaker 1: awesome in it that girl from Sultburn. What is her name?
- 13:37Speaker 1: She's really good? What is her name from Sultburn. Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: she's the crazy blonde gal from Sultburn. Alison Oliver is
- 13:48Speaker 1: her name. She's Elizabeth Stover in this she's the like
- 13:53Speaker 1: kind of like a frumpy town cop or whatever in
- 13:57Speaker 1: this one. And she's really good, Uh, really fun. I
- 14:01Speaker 1: like her a lot nice and a super different part
- 14:05Speaker 1: than Saltburne. And I hope I'm right about that, but
- 14:08Speaker 1: I feel like that's got to be her.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Uh.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Amelia Jones is in it too, from Coda, which is
- 14:14Speaker 1: so colda yea, and also another part that is very
- 14:17Speaker 1: different from from what we've seen her do. And then
- 14:21Speaker 1: but Ruffalo is awesome. That Tom Pelfrey guy who was
- 14:24Speaker 1: also an ozark O incredible.
- 14:27Speaker 3: He was killing that Philly accent.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what are we going to do about it?
- 14:33Speaker 1: It was such a weird I want to talk to
- 14:35Speaker 1: Chatham only in that voice now for a while. Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but it's funny.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It's very different from Pittsburgh, true Pittsburgh eese.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But it's not it's weird.
- 14:46Speaker 3: It's weird how different it is in the same.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And so the way they do their vowels is, so
- 14:51Speaker 1: I find myself repeating them a lot when I'm watching,
- 14:54Speaker 1: just because I'm like, why though.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Yeah, they kind of do the water water, but.
- 14:59Speaker 1: They also do where you going, you know. It's like
- 15:03Speaker 1: almost it's it's like, it's very strange. It's a fun
- 15:09Speaker 1: little it's fun. I like that stuff. But yeah, I
- 15:13Speaker 1: really love this show. Task It's on HBO. I don't
- 15:16Speaker 1: know if I said that. I apologize if I did.
- 15:18Speaker 3: It is on HBO.
- 15:19Speaker 1: It's over on HBO, and it's it's really fun. Man,
- 15:22Speaker 1: it's so good a lot. Yeah, that's really haven't It's
- 15:25Speaker 1: been a while too since I got like sucked into
- 15:28Speaker 1: that kind of a show, you know, And I was like, yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 1: that that is a special kind of yumminess when you're like, well,
- 15:33Speaker 1: I know what I want to do.
- 15:34Speaker 3: For the rest of the evening, you know.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So yeah, it was really fun.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I love it.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Did I ask you what you're streaming yet? Yep?
- 15:44Speaker 3: Thank you for listening. Yep, it was platonic. I don't
- 15:48Speaker 3: care about that. I was texting our guests and so

- 16:49Speaker 3: that pertains to the movie we're talking about, and for
- 16:51Speaker 3: this one, we decided to do our top five favorite
- 16:55Speaker 3: movie Private Investigator.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Great call, Bud, this was your idea, and I was like,
- 16:59Speaker 1: good call, we have not done that. That's it. And honestly, I.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Was like, there's gonna be so many I was like,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I picked like sixteen.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it was kind of hard. So it was more
- 17:07Speaker 1: diff than I thought. For sure.
- 17:09Speaker 3: I wasn't doing like detective. I was going for private investigators.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So it did you come up with any ones that
- 17:15Speaker 1: you're like, I think that's a fun one, a sneaky one,
- 17:17Speaker 1: because I did a lot of a couple of sneaky ones.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I don't have sneaky ones.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Maybe not sneaky, but we did what we could.
- 17:24Speaker 3: So nice.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Nice. We will look forward to that, Greg. But we're
- 17:29Speaker 1: here today to talk about a lovely film featuring a
- 17:32Speaker 1: private investigator of courts. This is a little movie called Kiss, Kiss,
- 17:36Speaker 1: Bang Bang two thousand and five, celebrating its twenty year anniversary.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And we had to get one of our best buddies
- 17:43Speaker 1: on for this because I think this movie comes up
- 17:46Speaker 1: every time he's on.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I came up a lot and he was shocked. You
- 17:49Speaker 3: hadn't seen it until not that long ago.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I know, it's crazy. So well, let's give him back.
- 17:54Speaker 1: You guys know him, you love him. Let's give it
- 17:56Speaker 1: up for Timmy.
- 17:58Speaker 3: It's not what's up Timmy? Hey, guys, you doing, buddy.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I'm doing terrific. How are you guys doing so good.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Good glad you're already.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I know it's a quick trinner round.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I know what were you just on for? Because my
- 18:14Speaker 1: brain is.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Soup almost famous.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, that's right. That was like a month ago,
- 18:19Speaker 1: two months ago.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I think it was just last month. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I usually we're like, we haven't had you on for
- 18:26Speaker 1: so long.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Well, and we had kiss Kiss Bang bang earlier, like
- 18:30Speaker 3: in the calendar. I was like, we just had Timmy
- 18:32Speaker 3: on it, and I wanted him on for this movie,
- 18:33Speaker 3: so let's yeah, let's switch things around a bit.
- 18:38Speaker 4: I've talked about this movie more often on this podcast
- 18:41Speaker 4: than any of the movies we've actually talked about.
- 18:44Speaker 1: That's what I said. I was like, it's come up,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I think every time. So we had to bring him,
- 18:48Speaker 1: We had to have it happen. Yeah, and we're so
- 18:51Speaker 1: happy that you're here to be.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Timmy wants to make sure that you support his favorite
- 18:57Speaker 1: band of all time go to home free music dot com.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Let let's do that, please do.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I don't know if he feels that way, but I do,
- 19:04Speaker 1: and I.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Love it nice?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Now you do? Yeah you do?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 19:11Speaker 1: They're great and they smell pretty good, pretty good.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I mean pretty good than probably.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Come on, no, you guys do smell pretty good not lying,
- 19:24Speaker 1: and I really get in there.
- 19:26Speaker 4: He really all right, I really do.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Let's keep on going.
- 19:30Speaker 1: All right, that's a awkward We're here to talk about
- 19:32Speaker 1: kiss kiss bang bang your anniversary, and I think wet's
- 19:37Speaker 1: just get right into it. Rob, you want to hit
- 19:39Speaker 1: us with a rough SYNOPSI.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Let's do it. Two bit crook Harry Lockhart stumbles into
- 19:46Speaker 3: an audition for a mystery film while on the run
- 19:49Speaker 3: from the cops. Winning the part, he lands in Hollywood,
- 19:53Speaker 3: where he's flung into a tangled murderous conspiracy with his
- 19:58Speaker 3: childhood sweetheart Harmony Lane and hard boiled private eye Perry
- 20:04Speaker 3: Van Shrike. This deadpan, affectionate parody of film noir tropes
- 20:09Speaker 3: is named for film critic Pauline Kale's influential nineteen sixty
- 20:15Speaker 3: eight collection of film reviews and essays which I think
- 20:19Speaker 3: we needed in the plot synopsis. So I'm glad that
- 20:23Speaker 3: I read you two.
- 20:29Speaker 1: It actually made me feel good, because that's how I
- 20:31Speaker 1: feel sometimes when I'm reading the trivia, where I'm like,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I clearly didn't read this whole section. Yeah, now I'm
- 20:36Speaker 1: already halfway through.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I could have probably just taken off that last sentence
- 20:42Speaker 3: would have been okay. But now we know why it
- 20:44Speaker 3: was named Kiss Kiss the.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Beauty man, see all the glory.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Well, you're learning stuff.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I love it. I think you're right as previously said,
- 20:54Speaker 1: smell pretty good. Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes and hear
- 20:57Speaker 1: what they have to say. Critics have this coming in
- 20:59Speaker 1: at a pretty rock solid eighty six percent boom. That's
- 21:02Speaker 1: pretty fresh.
- 21:03Speaker 3: That is pretty fresh. I thought it would be more
- 21:05Speaker 3: than that, if I'm being honest, but I did.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Intriguing has a weird, weird relationship with the establishment in Hollywood,
- 21:16Speaker 4: but I.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Love him, so I love his parte.
- 21:19Speaker 1: That's pretty true with you. I mean, eighty six is
- 21:22Speaker 1: not bad.
- 21:22Speaker 4: No, it's not bad.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I just I thought it might be yeah or whatever.
- 21:28Speaker 4: People don't.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Audience members, though, had it one to higher. They had
- 21:31Speaker 1: at eighty seven. Is that more what you think? Is
- 21:34Speaker 1: your like? Perfect?
- 21:35Speaker 3: Perfect? Yes? That is exactly what I thought.
- 21:38Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
- 21:39Speaker 3: The critics would love it and the fans would like
- 21:41Speaker 3: it a little less.
- 21:42Speaker 1: A little tiny bit. No, Well, let's go in here.
- 21:45Speaker 1: What we think. It's time for our hot take.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Hot take.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's a hot take.
- 21:51Speaker 3: That's a hot take.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Whoah, spicy.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I think that's the thing that you put on my
- 21:59Speaker 3: desticles is burning?
- 22:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the battery charger? Or is this a different event?
- 22:06Speaker 1: This was just just talking about the movie or something
- 22:09Speaker 1: happening off Kevin.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Thanks, get it.
- 22:11Speaker 5: It's sweetie Penny, get out of here one tonight.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I will go first. I've only seen this movie a
- 22:27Speaker 1: couple of times. I think this was my second watch,
- 22:31Speaker 1: which we've talked about a number of times. I know, Timmy,
- 22:34Speaker 1: but I think it's the more I watch it, the
- 22:37Speaker 1: crazier I think it is, because how did I miss
- 22:39Speaker 1: this movie? Super? I mean, I think we all. I
- 22:44Speaker 1: think it's fair to say we all love Shane Black
- 22:46Speaker 1: and his various pieces of entertainment that he's given us.
- 22:50Speaker 1: This has like all the hallmarks right, Like it's gritty,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's funny. They've got like the witty banter that happens,
- 22:58Speaker 1: it's you know, off color end points, and dark comedy
- 23:00Speaker 1: at points, but always has like a really fun kind
- 23:05Speaker 1: of smirk behind all of its comedy. I think in
- 23:07Speaker 1: a really fun way. In this one, specifically, I love
- 23:10Speaker 1: the narration and the breaking of the third wall. It's mentioned,
- 23:15Speaker 1: it's mentioned in the.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Trivia, but like, yeah, I was like, that's not right.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It was so good. It broke the third and fourth
- 23:27Speaker 1: man all up in that thing. It was crazy. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 1: just the third wall. You can see on stage.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I'm an idiot.
- 23:35Speaker 1: It's okay, live in three dimensions. I'm over here in too.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I can't afford the third one. Okay, the narration is great.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It's said in the trivia, but like, it makes so
- 23:49Speaker 1: much sense to me that Downy got got to be
- 23:53Speaker 1: Tony Stark after this movie because he basically is. He
- 23:58Speaker 1: totally was just like, yeah, I'm gonna play that character
- 24:01Speaker 1: with like some different stuff. I'm obviously also a genius
- 24:03Speaker 1: and a great engineer and all these things, right, but man,
- 24:07Speaker 1: he is just like he's firing on all cylinders in
- 24:10Speaker 1: this movie, and it's really really fun. Yeah. I just
- 24:14Speaker 1: think this movie is really a great time, some great actors,
- 24:18Speaker 1: some very thanksy pots and things. Really fun to add
- 24:22Speaker 1: to your Christmas traditions, because this is obviously a Christmas film.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that is something Shane Black really loves to do.
- 24:29Speaker 3: He does a lot of Christmas movies.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I think that's very silly and a good time. I
- 24:36Speaker 1: just thought of this while you were saying this, And
- 24:38Speaker 1: at the risk of sounding like an idiot, does his
- 24:40Speaker 1: friend die that gets shot at the beginning, because because
- 24:44Speaker 1: he really gets over that quick if he does die, yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: he seems to think he's going to die.
- 24:50Speaker 3: He does yeah out And didn't he say he can't
- 24:54Speaker 3: walk anymore or something?
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I've only seen it twice. This is on you, guys.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we we assume that because we see
- 25:07Speaker 3: him get shot, left were dead. I don't know. I
- 25:13Speaker 3: thought I thought at some point he says he can't
- 25:16Speaker 3: walk anymore. But maybe that's why that that's something else
- 25:19Speaker 3: I don't I don't remember.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Well, if he dies, he gets over it pretty quick.
- 25:23Speaker 3: He does.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Well, okay, I guess that's fine.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Google's AI he is dead.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Oh okay. Interesting cool. I don't know if I trust that. Also,
- 25:39Speaker 1: I wish I get it. It's part of the film.
- 25:43Speaker 1: But I kind of wish Shane Black had come up
- 25:46Speaker 1: with a different thing other than like child abuse for
- 25:51Speaker 1: the like lynchpin of the plot, because that was just
- 25:54Speaker 1: I sort of the whole time was like a bomber
- 25:57Speaker 1: that though like I don't know, I do hear that
- 26:01Speaker 1: it felt like it was hand waved away a little bit.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Well, but then it's not. Then they have an extremely
- 26:07Speaker 3: intense scene that feels kind of like what movie am
- 26:12Speaker 3: I watching? Like it kind of is like, yeah, this
- 26:15Speaker 3: is really a lot. But you're glad that they reference
- 26:18Speaker 3: it because it was a little kind of just like,
- 26:22Speaker 3: all right, this is just a part of the movie.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I just kind of wish it wouldn't have been though,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and then they wouldn't have had to have that intense scene,
- 26:28Speaker 1: you know, like, yeah, I mean, I guess the plot,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know, I kind.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Of love that scene a lot. It just kind of
- 26:35Speaker 3: feels out of place in the rest of the movie.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting anyway, that's my hottest take. It's just
- 26:42Speaker 1: an interesting one. But I really like this movie a lot.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I think it's fun.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I'll take, I'll take I've always loved this movie. Like
- 26:51Speaker 3: we said, written and directed by Shane Black, I really
- 26:54Speaker 3: enjoy almost all of his things. However, Timmy, I was
- 26:57Speaker 3: saying at the beginning of this, I watched his very
- 27:01Speaker 3: like I think he just released it this weekend. Written
- 27:04Speaker 3: and directed Shane Black film called played Dirty and It's
- 27:09Speaker 3: Not Great, which he didn't like it. I didn't love it,
- 27:13Speaker 3: but you know, he did lethal weapon films, The Last Boy, Scout,
- 27:17Speaker 3: The Long Kiss good Night, which we've done an episode
- 27:19Speaker 3: on The Nice Guys as well, so but apparently this
- 27:24Speaker 3: was this was his film directorial debut, and I thought
- 27:30Speaker 3: he did a really good job. Yeah, he got an
- 27:32Speaker 3: awesome cast led by Robert Downey Jr. In the late
- 27:35Speaker 3: Great Val Kilmer. I love all the humor and how
- 27:38Speaker 3: fast the jokes are said. Just Robert Tony Jr. Was
- 27:42Speaker 3: perfect for this. I thought it was a fun, comedic
- 27:47Speaker 3: murder mystery. I enjoyed the plot and it being explained
- 27:50Speaker 3: by Robert Downey Junior throughout the film with the narration.
- 27:54Speaker 3: All in all, movies so much fun. I adore it.
- 27:57Speaker 3: I'm so happy to rewatch and talk about it. One
- 28:00Speaker 3: of my hot takes. So. I loved how they kind
- 28:05Speaker 3: of used the Jossy Jossey the Johnny Gossamer novels as
- 28:11Speaker 3: like foreshadowing to tell us what's coming up in the movie,
- 28:14Speaker 3: and it got the two cases that end up being
- 28:16Speaker 3: the one case they talk about how the guy always
- 28:19Speaker 3: gets caught and tortured and whatever, but then they very
- 28:23Speaker 3: specifically say and make it a point to be like,
- 28:26Speaker 3: and then they end up killing sixteen guys and then
- 28:30Speaker 3: you're like, go, I was going through and I was like,
- 28:33Speaker 3: they didn't kill sixteen guys, So I'm like, why would
- 28:36Speaker 3: they make such a big point out of like, yeah,
- 28:40Speaker 3: it's always sixteen, Like why why do they do that?
- 28:44Speaker 3: So I just don't understand why they would have made
- 28:46Speaker 3: that such a big deal. And that's my hottest take.
- 28:50Speaker 3: That's why it gets a nine instead of a ten
- 28:53Speaker 3: for me because of that.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Dude, I read the scene with the sixteen almost like
- 28:59Speaker 4: Chris Wig and uh do like the thing? Yeah like
- 29:05Speaker 4: that that they were almost just ad libbing and he
- 29:08Speaker 4: did sixteen and she did sixteen and they were trying
- 29:10Speaker 4: to be cute. It's a fun segue into my my
- 29:14Speaker 4: hot take, and it's what I love this movie. I mean,
- 29:19Speaker 4: that's that's the take. I absolutely love this movie. I
- 29:22Speaker 4: don't remember if I watched it on your recommendation or
- 29:25Speaker 4: if I watched it and then just we connected shortly
- 29:28Speaker 4: thereafter because they both loved it. But it's so good
- 29:32Speaker 4: and one of the things I love about it is
- 29:34Speaker 4: it does keep telling you exactly what it is and
- 29:36Speaker 4: exactly what's going to happen, but then it's subverts that
- 29:39Speaker 4: those expectations just a little. So you know, it'll say
- 29:43Speaker 4: the first scene where he's doing the magic trick and
- 29:47Speaker 4: the girl screams and you're like, oh, he just cut
- 29:49Speaker 4: that girl and half it sure, and then she, like
- 29:52Speaker 4: Riley just you know, smiles and like how was that.
- 29:55Speaker 4: It's like, oh, it's going to be like that. Like
- 29:57Speaker 4: nothing nothing is quite as it seems. So they just
- 30:00Speaker 4: keep setting you up with telling you all of the
- 30:02Speaker 4: things that are going to happen, and you know, if
- 30:04Speaker 4: there's two cases in one and then it ends up
- 30:07Speaker 4: not being that you know, obviously spoiler alert, Harmony's sister
- 30:11Speaker 4: wasn't part of the bigger plot after all. They were
- 30:13Speaker 4: just kind of pulled into it, right, So it's it's
- 30:17Speaker 4: a fun watch. But the best part he has touched
- 30:19Speaker 4: on it it's it's not even the plot, Like the
- 30:21Speaker 4: plot of the movies is fine and kind of complex, honestly,
- 30:25Speaker 4: and it's not m Night shambal on that makes you think, like,
- 30:30Speaker 4: you know, like holy they got me there, But it's
- 30:33Speaker 4: the banter throughout and just like the dialogue throughout is
- 30:37Speaker 4: so low written and I would just watch RDJ and
- 30:40Speaker 4: Val Kilmer go back and forth and that they're writing
- 30:44Speaker 4: so quick and Monahan's perfect in it. You do have
- 30:48Speaker 4: this crossroads, you know, Shane Black directorial debut Monahan. I
- 30:53Speaker 4: don't think I had seen her in anything, and she
- 30:54Speaker 4: hadn't been in much before this. Yeah, definitely was my
- 30:58Speaker 4: introduction to her.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Yeah when ad Mission Impossible three come out, wasn't she? Yeah?
- 31:03Speaker 5: Cool?
- 31:05Speaker 4: Well after this and then you know RDJ was was
- 31:09Speaker 4: kind of gone for a while, and this wasn't his
- 31:11Speaker 4: first post recovery movie, but it was kind of his big,
- 31:15Speaker 4: big breakout, I think the most successful. And then you
- 31:20Speaker 4: kind of said it like you can see Tony Starker
- 31:23Speaker 4: and all over this and it just kind of relaunched.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I think RDJ intwo superstar. When he was he was
- 31:31Speaker 4: toxic for a while, like no one was touching him.
- 31:33Speaker 4: So it's a important movie for a number, you know,
- 31:36Speaker 4: besides being great, it just kind of sparked a lot
- 31:38Speaker 4: of careers. And that Villa Tilber guy, I never heard
- 31:42Speaker 4: of him until this one. What Yeah, that's the one exception,
- 31:46Speaker 4: but yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy. This was one of her first movies.
- 31:50Speaker 1: She was in the Born Supremacy a year.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Earlier, which had to be a bit part, but she
- 31:55Speaker 4: was it a big part.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't remember that one.
- 31:59Speaker 4: I couldn't. Supremacy is not my favorite.
- 32:02Speaker 1: The only other movie she was in was something called
- 32:04Speaker 1: Winter Solstice. It runs in the family Unfaithful and Perfume
- 32:08Speaker 1: and I don't know any of those.
- 32:11Speaker 3: So cool.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Interesting, look how.
- 32:14Speaker 3: This mission Apostle three was the next year?
- 32:19Speaker 1: It was the next year, be an idiot, it's way later,
- 32:28Speaker 1: it was months whatever, No, no, I get it, I
- 32:32Speaker 1: get it for sure. Well, hot take pass, hot takes
- 32:35Speaker 1: all around. Shall we go through and name our favorite
- 32:39Speaker 1: acting performance?
- 32:40Speaker 3: Name the dude.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 32:45Speaker 1: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know
- 32:51Speaker 1: eldudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing, Timmy,
- 32:55Speaker 1: who do you got for your dude?
- 32:56Speaker 4: The dude is R d J all day.
- 32:59Speaker 3: This is any I don't.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Think it's that close, although a lot are well, several
- 33:04Speaker 4: very good performances here, but you kind of touched on it.
- 33:07Speaker 4: You can totally trace how this performance, like yes, was
- 33:12Speaker 4: the skeleton key for him unlocking Tony Stark and what
- 33:15Speaker 4: he wanted to do. And it's almost Harry's role in
- 33:18Speaker 4: this movie combined with Perry, because Tony Stark is ken
- 33:23Speaker 4: of has Perry's like deadpan, like you're an idiot. Like
- 33:26Speaker 4: some of the things that Perry says to Harry are
- 33:28Speaker 4: things that Tony would say to any number of characters
- 33:32Speaker 4: and avengers. It's just but it's so clear to see
- 33:34Speaker 4: that you know this he tapped into something here maybe yeah,
- 33:39Speaker 4: you know, always had it and this just highlights it.
- 33:42Speaker 4: But the movie works because of him. He plays that
- 33:46Speaker 4: you know, charming buffoon so well where he keeps doing
- 33:51Speaker 4: everything wrong, but like you can understand other people around
- 33:53Speaker 4: him don't want to completely dismiss him. And he's he's
- 33:57Speaker 4: so quick. He's as good as snappy dialogue as any actor.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he really is.
- 34:03Speaker 4: It's great, however long so yeah it's RDJ.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Yeah, super easy. Uh. He acts the hell out of it.
- 34:12Speaker 3: The dialogue comes out of him so easily. Easily, it
- 34:15Speaker 3: seems like he's almost improvising the whole time, just the
- 34:19Speaker 3: way he just like totally inhabits the character. He has
- 34:23Speaker 3: to break down a couple of times. He has to
- 34:26Speaker 3: act under the influence, which can be kind of tough
- 34:29Speaker 3: sometimes has to get in romance mode.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Do you think that's weird when you're like a recovering
- 34:36Speaker 1: I wonder about that. I don't know.
- 34:38Speaker 3: That seems definitely has a lot of experience.
- 34:43Speaker 4: Researched.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I just wonder that's interesting.
- 34:47Speaker 3: He had to do a ton of stuff all the
- 34:49Speaker 3: wild being hilarious. So yeah, definitely definitely the dude.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Well, it's a clean sweep. I agree wholeheartedly. I just
- 34:56Speaker 1: think he's so great in this. And obviously I love
- 34:59Speaker 1: Tony Stark because I love both Marvel movies, but in this,
- 35:04Speaker 1: and I do, I think the character is different enough
- 35:07Speaker 1: that it's still super fun. And like you said, he
- 35:09Speaker 1: you know, he's crying, He's doing all kinds of stuff
- 35:11Speaker 1: in this, a lot of like physical humor, which I
- 35:14Speaker 1: kind of forgot from my first watch through. But he's
- 35:17Speaker 1: really good at that too. This is really fun. Yeah,
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'm with you. He's definitely the dude for me.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Boom. Well, let's talk about some of the supporting characters
- 35:26Speaker 3: and let's choose the dude.
- 35:31Speaker 1: How about that one? Tim for me?
- 35:33Speaker 4: This one's also obvious and honestly, probably closer to the
- 35:37Speaker 4: dude for me than he was for you guys. But
- 35:40Speaker 4: Val Kilmer Gaye Perry like, uh, you know, it's a
- 35:47Speaker 4: two hander for a lot of the movie. And he's
- 35:49Speaker 4: so good in this He's so direct, he's you don't
- 35:52Speaker 4: see Val Kilmer in a ton of comedic roles like
- 35:57Speaker 4: he's he's such a good actor, and he like melts
- 36:00Speaker 4: in the character and just watching him kind of just
- 36:02Speaker 4: get to be funny and quick and witty. Yeah, was phenomenal.
- 36:05Speaker 4: And he kills it like he just takes down Raberdowney
- 36:08Speaker 4: Junior every scene, Like every scene he's just belittling him,
- 36:12Speaker 4: but in an endearing way where it's not me like
- 36:16Speaker 4: you you see like him almost big brother, little brother,
- 36:19Speaker 4: and kind of growing fond of him through the film.
- 36:21Speaker 4: So yeah, watch the tightrope. But any scene that the
- 36:24Speaker 4: two of them are in together is why this movie
- 36:27Speaker 4: is magico.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's so like hyper effective too. I love that,
- 36:31Speaker 1: like he always knows pretty much what's going on, even
- 36:34Speaker 1: if he doesn't know the whole part, you know, he's
- 36:37Speaker 1: ready and you know, ready to roll. It's fun. I
- 36:40Speaker 1: love that pic.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I would have picked him as well. Most of
- 36:43Speaker 3: my favorite lines in this film are from him being
- 36:46Speaker 3: just exhausted by how stupid Harry is. Hell Ya, And honestly,
- 36:51Speaker 3: I think this is my second favorite Vel Kilmer role
- 36:54Speaker 3: behind Doc Holiday.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yes, that Holiday's gotta be first.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Oh, not even close. That's one of my favorite roles.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Close to me, Like really, that's awesome.
- 37:05Speaker 4: I almost say this role butt got Colly Days so
- 37:09Speaker 4: so so so good.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, I would have definitely picked him as well.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Run her up obviously as Michelle Mont Again, I feel like, oh,
- 37:17Speaker 3: there's just nobody that's even close, uh to those two Otherwise,
- 37:23Speaker 3: I mean it's really just those three folks that are
- 37:25Speaker 3: in its consistently.
- 37:27Speaker 1: They're the bulk of it for sure.
- 37:29Speaker 3: And yeah, I also wrote down this was one of
- 37:31Speaker 3: the first times I remember seeing her. I did see
- 37:33Speaker 3: the movie Unfaithful. You must have seen her. I don't
- 37:36Speaker 3: remember her in that, so it must have been a
- 37:38Speaker 3: pretty small role. Is that the that's the Diane Lane
- 37:42Speaker 3: Richard Gere. Yeah, really intense if you haven't seen it,
- 37:45Speaker 3: big I've ever seen it. No, it's crazy, but yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 3: and she was pretty funny in this too.
- 37:51Speaker 4: It was was so hum really really funny in this.
- 37:55Speaker 1: She keeps up with him, so you know, like the
- 37:57Speaker 1: repartee stuff and fun to She actually like got some
- 38:01Speaker 1: funny parts written for her because it doesn't know what's
- 38:03Speaker 1: happened for you know, lady ladies who are acting in
- 38:07Speaker 1: this world. And she's very beautiful. I don't know if
- 38:11Speaker 1: anyone noticed, but my heavens.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Did you you watched the latest White Lotus right? She was?
- 38:16Speaker 1: She was?
- 38:17Speaker 3: I did that.
- 38:18Speaker 1: She's a big partured in that too.
- 38:21Speaker 4: One another show I haven't seen.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I like her a lot.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Those are fun, dude. I mean they're dark and everybody's
- 38:26Speaker 3: so wed, but that I do like that show.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I missed the There's three seasons, is that right?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:31Speaker 1: I think she's in the she's in the third. That
- 38:34Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 38:34Speaker 4: That makes sense.
- 38:36Speaker 1: She's great. Love that love both those picks. So I'll
- 38:41Speaker 1: go with my weird third one because I recognized a
- 38:45Speaker 1: young person.
- 38:46Speaker 3: That was crazy, dude, the seven year old version of her.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Did you know who that was? I didn't know until
- 38:52Speaker 3: this rewatch. Oh that's fun. No, I didn't either.
- 38:55Speaker 1: It's Aeriel Winter from a Modern Family, and I just
- 39:00Speaker 1: thought that was so wild. I was like, oh my god,
- 39:03Speaker 1: is that her?
- 39:04Speaker 3: Because it looks like I went back rewound it like
- 39:07Speaker 3: after I saw the cast, so so I was like,
- 39:09Speaker 3: that's crazy.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I noticed in real time, which I was.
- 39:15Speaker 1: It does not always happened for me, but luckily it
- 39:18Speaker 1: was early, got me early. But yeah, it was really fun.
- 39:21Speaker 1: She doesn't get to do much, but she's in one
- 39:23Speaker 1: of my favorite sitcoms of all time, so it was
- 39:26Speaker 1: just fun to see her out there doing her thing.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Shout out to Larry Miller.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Miller, he's so funny, Miller, I love it.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I kind of remembered him being in it more too,
- 39:40Speaker 1: but I guess I just misremembered that and it was
- 39:44Speaker 1: fun to see Shannon.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 4: I didn't realize that was hurt any point until after
- 39:51Speaker 4: the factor research. Either such a role, love love.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Her what else? She was a nice tale.
- 39:59Speaker 4: She forty Nights, which I have unbelievable side like, I
- 40:05Speaker 4: adore that movie me too. If I revisited it, I'm
- 40:09Speaker 4: sure I can't age.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Well, no, it doesn't.
- 40:12Speaker 3: His body is no way.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Just there's there's ansible at the end of the movie.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Right, there's straight up there's one end.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 40:24Speaker 4: His ex just grapes him over like no. It never
- 40:29Speaker 4: gets addressed in any meaningful way except that his new
- 40:34Speaker 4: girlfriend's upset at him about it, which pretty pretty because
- 40:40Speaker 4: we're interested in checking out forty you don't really need
- 40:43Speaker 4: to anymore.
- 40:45Speaker 1: No, it was very fun at the time. I love
- 40:49Speaker 1: that movie too.
- 40:49Speaker 4: I'm with you, but I'm a fig Josh hurting it guy.
- 40:54Speaker 3: He's bad.
- 40:55Speaker 4: He's back full circle. They were in a little movie
- 40:59Speaker 4: called Oppenheim.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Together and we never heard of it. Yes, okay, cool,
- 41:06Speaker 1: Uh that's kind of it. Though I didn't know corn Burnson.
- 41:10Speaker 3: You didn't say Corbin Burnson.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we didn't say corb I do like that guy.
- 41:14Speaker 3: A major league and very much though either he's not,
- 41:18Speaker 3: but a big part of it. He's got a funny
- 41:20Speaker 3: thing that he says as he's dying, which is pretty fun.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Like that.
- 41:27Speaker 4: Was a good death scene.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and then I liked the dash Meehawk and Rockman
- 41:32Speaker 3: Dunbar two.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Those two. Yea, they just gave.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Him like weird like kind of nineteen like forties like
- 41:41Speaker 3: noir kind of how they were speaking to each other.
- 41:45Speaker 3: It was different.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not know what Mike and Ike meant,
- 41:49Speaker 1: and that was interesting.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I looked it up last Yeah.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Well, and apparently it also means salt and pepper. And
- 41:56Speaker 1: so it was like a white and a black guy
- 41:57Speaker 1: and that was like, that was what it was. Like,
- 41:59Speaker 1: that's a little it's a little bit of a stretch
- 42:01Speaker 1: right anytime, I guess, but straight out like you know,
- 42:06Speaker 1: the Maltese falcon or something.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Like what is going on right now?
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah? Absolutely, I did, like you.
- 42:13Speaker 3: And one other thing I saw, uh that goofy commercial
- 42:17Speaker 3: that they play that Gennaro's beer that Lawrence Fishburne is
- 42:23Speaker 3: the voice of the bear.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I did not know that.
- 42:27Speaker 3: No, it's all fish.
- 42:31Speaker 1: It's all fish. Yeah, why was it him? What was he?
- 42:36Speaker 3: How did he get no idea?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Like who thought to ask him? How did you know? What?
- 42:40Speaker 3: I mean? Like weird, super weird weird.
- 42:44Speaker 4: But I feel like a lot of those things are
- 42:46Speaker 4: just like literally he was feeling a movie on the
- 42:48Speaker 4: next lot.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Right, are you busy? Yeah?
- 42:51Speaker 4: Follow minutes?
- 42:53Speaker 3: Yeah, oh you got another one?
- 42:57Speaker 4: No, just just echoing Larry Miller because he's so funny
- 43:02Speaker 4: in st and it almost indeeds someone that is kind
- 43:07Speaker 4: of a loof like that, like the plot's so ridiculous
- 43:09Speaker 4: and like yeah, like but it's almost he sells it.
- 43:14Speaker 4: I guess. Yeah. It feels like that's something that that
- 43:18Speaker 4: he would do.
- 43:19Speaker 1: He's great and everything. He's so good.
- 43:22Speaker 3: I do always love Larry Miller.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I love him.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Yeah, why don't we pick our favorite scene and let's
- 43:29Speaker 3: choose the dingus? So is quite simple, really ingus thingus.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I can talk about my dingus all night long.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Tell me what you got for your favorite scene.
- 43:42Speaker 4: I haven't fully decided.
- 43:45Speaker 1: That's hard.
- 43:49Speaker 4: If if you have one, going, I'll come come back.
- 43:51Speaker 3: I was going to kind of cheat. So if you
- 43:54Speaker 3: have one.
- 43:55Speaker 4: That's fine. I think that this scene that I think
- 44:00Speaker 4: about when I think of this movie and that you
- 44:03Speaker 4: really start to see the banter between the banter between
- 44:10Speaker 4: RDJ and Vala Kilmer is the lake when their first
- 44:14Speaker 4: disposing of the body. Sure you get I feel like,
- 44:18Speaker 4: I say, checkout's gone on this podcast a lot too.
- 44:20Speaker 4: But you know gets me excited and you have all
- 44:26Speaker 4: just a lot of the elements that end up playing
- 44:30Speaker 4: out through the rest of the movie. You see him
- 44:32Speaker 4: there first. Yeah, So that that's the one that I'll pick,
- 44:36Speaker 4: the lake scene.
- 44:38Speaker 3: So I am gonna take two different scenes, but they're
- 44:42Speaker 3: very close to each other, which is so it's like
- 44:47Speaker 3: it's like twelve minutes of the movie and it's when
- 44:52Speaker 3: they interrogate the guy that is like on the ground
- 44:58Speaker 3: the Russian and that's god. But then, Sonny, it's so funny.
- 45:04Speaker 3: But then they immediately get taken and that's like the
- 45:08Speaker 3: torture scene and we get like the the drringer out
- 45:12Speaker 3: of Val Kilmer's pants. And I think of that when
- 45:18Speaker 3: I think of this movie. So I wanted to take
- 45:20Speaker 3: those two together.
- 45:23Speaker 4: That it's really all one big sequence.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah. I was laughing out loud when I thought of
- 45:29Speaker 1: that scene because I.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Just who taught you math?
- 45:34Speaker 1: Chance?
- 45:35Speaker 3: Stop multiplying?
- 45:43Speaker 1: I love That's might be my favorite one, you know,
- 45:47Speaker 1: subversion in the best way. Like that's so funny. That's
- 45:56Speaker 1: a great pick.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's fun.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Uh oh, it's my turn. Sorry When she cuts off
- 46:08Speaker 1: his finger and just nonchalantly is like, did I just
- 46:12Speaker 1: cut your finger? Yeah, it's right there. Could you grab
- 46:16Speaker 1: me like that? Can I combine two scenes? Because that
- 46:20Speaker 1: and then the dog when the dog has his finger.
- 46:23Speaker 3: And his finger scenes, Yeah, that's great.
- 46:27Speaker 4: It looks like the dog smoking a cigar and it's
- 46:29Speaker 4: framed just so fun. I love it.
- 46:32Speaker 3: It's really really great.
- 46:34Speaker 1: I just love both those just the his poor fingy,
- 46:37Speaker 1: like they slammed the door, and she just immediately was like, oh,
- 46:40Speaker 1: did I just do that? And he's like yes, they're
- 46:43Speaker 1: just so matter of fact about its doors all the time. Now,
- 46:48Speaker 1: it's scary.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Second conversation he has with Perry in the movie where
- 46:52Speaker 4: he has to describe doing something completely ridiculous that he's
- 46:55Speaker 4: worried about leaving DNA because at first, like, I can
- 47:00Speaker 4: can they get fingerprints that a dogs? Like, I don't
- 47:01Speaker 4: think you need to worry about about the dot.
- 47:04Speaker 1: No, he has the thing with the fingerprint on it.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that's like twenty minutes after he peas on a corpse.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, yeah, that was what.
- 47:14Speaker 1: That scene. It's so great and I'll say as a
- 47:18Speaker 1: runner up for me, it's crazy because it's like the
- 47:21Speaker 1: first almost but the accidental audition.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Is really really that was my runner up as well, and.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Such a cool idea, Like I love that part, so fun,
- 47:30Speaker 1: super super cool.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Yeah, show off a bit too. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 47:35Speaker 3: because he's done scenes, we've done it before. Oh yeah
- 47:40Speaker 3: I picked this, Yes.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Well then we could have done it.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Yeah, the addition we should have gotten into more honestly
- 47:49Speaker 4: tacking about r DJ as the dude because it's it's.
- 47:52Speaker 1: So he's really great.
- 47:54Speaker 4: He turns it on so quick and it's like, yes,
- 47:58Speaker 4: to be as funny as he is then be able
- 48:00Speaker 4: to do that is pretty amazing.
- 48:02Speaker 3: And Larry Miller was loving it. Yes, just love it.
- 48:07Speaker 4: That's a funny. Part of the scene is like his
- 48:09Speaker 4: how he turns her ound for him, like when he
- 48:10Speaker 4: starts reading, like.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, yeah that's so great. Uh, can
- 48:16Speaker 1: I have another runner.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Up to the Jesus Bugs everything in the.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Hotel room when the spider goes into her bra all
- 48:23Speaker 1: of that silliness and then we already said it. But
- 48:27Speaker 1: then when the girls in the shower and he ends
- 48:29Speaker 1: up peeing on her and that whole phone conversation so fun,
- 48:32Speaker 1: so ridiculous.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Yeah, the nipple thing where he's like kind of looking
- 48:36Speaker 4: and trying not to look that kind of and then
- 48:38Speaker 4: he sees the spider and yeah, the whole conversation after that,
- 48:41Speaker 4: And it's a good character moment for him too, because like,
- 48:44Speaker 4: you you know, this guy is pretty much a piece
- 48:47Speaker 4: of we see we talked about him leaving his friend
- 48:50Speaker 4: right away, but it shows that, you know, like he
- 48:54Speaker 4: has his line and like she she gets to to
- 48:56Speaker 4: see that, like, oh, there really was a spider.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:58Speaker 4: Yeah, this guy is not a beat dick.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, and he also just isn't cool with that stuff,
- 49:04Speaker 3: which is great because like when they're at that party
- 49:08Speaker 3: and the guy is like, she's passed out and he's dude,
- 49:12Speaker 3: that's so funny when he talks so big and then
- 49:14Speaker 3: they have that hard cut him getting his ass handed
- 49:19Speaker 3: to him, like you cannot talk that big and then
- 49:23Speaker 3: be best sad at fighting like that is a great,
- 49:26Speaker 3: great cut.
- 49:27Speaker 1: That's how I assume any fight I ever got into
- 49:29Speaker 1: would go. So I'm with him. I get it.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Oh that was fun Yeah, so funny. I love that.
- 49:36Speaker 1: But it worked. He didn't touch her anymore, so that's good. Yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 1: although they did go home together for.
- 49:44Speaker 4: She didn't stay with him.
- 49:45Speaker 1: She can take care of herself, I think. Is also
- 49:48Speaker 1: the answer to most of those questions. How did you
- 49:52Speaker 1: guys have any other runners up? Or have I said
- 49:54Speaker 1: them all?
- 49:56Speaker 3: I mean, like I said, I thought that that last
- 50:00Speaker 3: where Val Kilmer gives it to that guy who is
- 50:03Speaker 3: the old guy and saving Private Ryan. By the way,
- 50:07Speaker 3: he's the guy that turns into Matt Damon.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, I didn't Okay, I did not.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Like it was a great scene. It's just it just
- 50:21Speaker 3: feels out of place in that movie. But it is
- 50:23Speaker 3: a really intense scene. Yeah, and I thought they both
- 50:27Speaker 3: acted the hell out of it.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Agreed.
- 50:29Speaker 4: That's when Val Kilmer goes.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Yea hits him and all the tough guy.
- 50:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and he has the line harmony was right, it
- 50:38Speaker 4: was murdered. It just took. Yeah.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I really really enjoyed that for sure.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It's a great scene. Yeah, but I kind of agree.
- 50:48Speaker 1: It's like, I don't know, as a sort of epilogue,
- 50:51Speaker 1: it's kind of strange.
- 50:52Speaker 4: It is.
- 50:52Speaker 3: It is.
- 50:53Speaker 4: It is very Lord of the Rings oly enough that movie.
- 51:01Speaker 3: That was gonna be your hot take.
- 51:02Speaker 1: It should have been, had it written down, and I
- 51:04Speaker 1: forgot to say it.
- 51:05Speaker 4: I think we need to call out as an Honora mention,
- 51:08Speaker 4: just the final set piece. Robbie called out a little
- 51:11Speaker 4: bit before when he when he kills the main bad guy,
- 51:13Speaker 4: but him hanging there holding onto the hand of the course,
- 51:17Speaker 4: you know, doing the coffin the cool thing with a
- 51:19Speaker 4: gun to get it to fall into his hand.
- 51:24Speaker 1: That was cool, quarter Salida, I got that going for him.
- 51:30Speaker 1: The audition hands.
- 51:33Speaker 3: But if we had to pick one, what do we think?
- 51:41Speaker 3: What do we think.
- 51:44Speaker 1: That's hard.
- 51:46Speaker 3: I feel like we all really liked the audition. I mean,
- 51:49Speaker 3: I'm partial to mine obviously the audition, but I feel
- 51:51Speaker 3: like we all were like, yeah, the audition scenes.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'm happy taking years just for who taught you math?
- 51:56Speaker 3: Because that's my favorite line.
- 51:59Speaker 4: There's another, the funny line at the end of that
- 52:01Speaker 4: when he says, thank god you had a gun in there.
- 52:03Speaker 4: For a second, I thought it was like a gay thing,
- 52:05Speaker 4: like you guys could just do that.
- 52:08Speaker 3: It's a great it's good. Well, let's take that. It's
- 52:12Speaker 3: it's that whole sequence. Then the interrogation turning into the
- 52:17Speaker 3: torture scene for Woo Chosen, Well, we already started kind
- 52:23Speaker 3: of saying some quotes. Let's let's keep it going, and
- 52:26Speaker 3: let's show me.
- 52:27Speaker 1: The money, show me the money, show me Timmy, you
- 52:36Speaker 1: want to say some lines.
- 52:38Speaker 4: I see this every time too, But I think this
- 52:40Speaker 4: is the honest to god truth that the movie line
- 52:44Speaker 4: I quote more than any other line in any other
- 52:47Speaker 4: movie is but what you are? No, I'm a bear.
- 52:51Speaker 4: I just say that all the time. It's a throwaway,
- 52:53Speaker 4: but I love Yeah, look at me like I'm an idiot.
- 53:00Speaker 4: I'm like one, I know, I'm a bear.
- 53:02Speaker 3: They'll be like, I don't get it.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Okay, it's it's a nobody understands their reference. And I
- 53:07Speaker 4: say it a lot. I don't even say I sucked
- 53:11Speaker 4: the heads off fish, but the whole line is I
- 53:15Speaker 4: sucked the heads off fish. I love it.
- 53:18Speaker 3: And little did you know that's Laurence fish, that's Lawrence fish.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's why I liked it.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Yeah, gravitas, I say, a couple.
- 53:30Speaker 4: This. This kind of like with the scenes, right, there's
- 53:33Speaker 4: not like these big scenes that you're drawn to where
- 53:36Speaker 4: it's like, oh, that's the one and the lions come
- 53:39Speaker 4: at you a mile a minute, And there's not a
- 53:41Speaker 4: lot of these really like big, amazing lions. It's just
- 53:46Speaker 4: everything Perry says is hilarious, but he's directing it already.
- 53:52Speaker 4: I like when when Harry says, so the whole reconcilement
- 53:55Speaker 4: thing and he just goes reconciliation idiot.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:00Speaker 4: Yeah, Do you think you're stupid? I don't know if
- 54:04Speaker 4: you know where to put food at at if you
- 54:06Speaker 4: don't flap your mouth so much. Yes, I think you're stupid.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Yes, I love that. Yes, I think I think you
- 54:11Speaker 3: would know how to feed yourself. Yeah, if you didn't
- 54:14Speaker 3: flap your mouth so much. I love that one.
- 54:17Speaker 1: That's really great.
- 54:19Speaker 4: What do you guys got Oh?
- 54:21Speaker 3: I got a lot.
- 54:22Speaker 4: Oh, I'll do one more one. I laughed the loudest
- 54:25Speaker 4: at on the rewatch. And I've seen this movie a lot,
- 54:28Speaker 4: but I never remember it. But towards the beginning, actress
- 54:32Speaker 4: at the party asked him, so what do you do
- 54:33Speaker 4: for a living, And he's like, I'm retired. I invented
- 54:35Speaker 4: dice as a kid. What you do?
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 54:39Speaker 1: She's like, I keep.
- 54:43Speaker 3: That's it? Okay, all right, Yeah that was fun.
- 54:46Speaker 1: That was.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Perry's like, look up idiot in the dictionary. You know
- 54:51Speaker 3: what you'll find. It's like a picture of me. No,
- 54:53Speaker 3: the definition of the word idiot, which you are lesson.
- 55:00Speaker 1: So hard at that.
- 55:04Speaker 3: I love. After he learns his adverb grammar lesson, He's like,
- 55:09Speaker 3: Perry's like, go sleep badly. Any questions hesitate to call sad?
- 55:14Speaker 3: Excuse me, sleep bad Otherwise it makes it seem like
- 55:17Speaker 3: the mechanism that allows you to sleep. What who taught you?
- 55:20Speaker 3: Grammar Badly's an adverb get out vanish, get out fanish.
- 55:27Speaker 3: So we already said the there's like an eight percent
- 55:32Speaker 3: chance eight, who taught you mathem? Maybe maybe my favorite
- 55:38Speaker 3: one that I didn't remember. And it's like he's kind
- 55:41Speaker 3: of in his like under the influence Hayes. But he's like,
- 55:47Speaker 3: she asks who the school mascot is, She's like Whitey
- 55:50Speaker 3: the White Knight. It's like, I guess it's better than
- 55:52Speaker 3: Nighty Night. Then it'd be toodles and Tata And I
- 56:00Speaker 3: love that.
- 56:01Speaker 1: That was great.
- 56:04Speaker 3: There's some more funny ones, but I'll end with harmony.
- 56:09Speaker 3: When they're at the bar, they see this pretty lady
- 56:13Speaker 3: and she's like, well for starters, she's been more times
- 56:16Speaker 3: and she's had a hot meal. He's like, yeah, I
- 56:18Speaker 3: heard about that. It was neck and neck and then
- 56:20Speaker 3: she skipped lunch.
- 56:21Speaker 1: She skipped lunch. That cracked me up pretty great.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Well, you say some bugs that we.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Kind of already talked about this, but it just cracked
- 56:30Speaker 1: me up. When he's like he's like, I pete on
- 56:32Speaker 1: the corpse. My question, He's like, no, my question, I
- 56:35Speaker 1: get to go first. Yeah, why in the perfect all
- 56:38Speaker 1: would you speak on a cord? You know? Yeah, so
- 56:41Speaker 1: so funny. I just loved the no no, no, no, no, no,
- 56:46Speaker 1: my question. I loved that out of ton when he
- 56:50Speaker 1: is getting his nether regions shocked in the interrogation scene. Yes,
- 56:57Speaker 1: and he's just like, stop.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Helping, stop helping, stop helping. Loved I love that good call.
- 57:09Speaker 1: And then at one point she's like how many fingers
- 57:12Speaker 1: and he's like, well, you put that cat down. I'm allergic.
- 57:15Speaker 1: It's really really fun.
- 57:17Speaker 3: That was good.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I love that a lot. That was it. That was
- 57:23Speaker 1: the last time anyone saw her well with an unsquished
- 57:26Speaker 1: symmetrical head. Yes, really correct throwaway? I think those were
- 57:35Speaker 1: all Oh no, we had one from our guy. It
- 57:40Speaker 1: was Larry Miller, right.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Larry Miller's his name.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Isn't that a basketball guy as well? That messed me up. No,
- 57:47Speaker 1: Larry Brown, Yeah, he coached Miller. Yeah there see that's
- 57:55Speaker 1: how I got there.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Wow.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Always do this, but you can never see he sees
- 58:02Speaker 1: her on the news or whatever talking and he's like, oh, yeah,
- 58:06Speaker 1: let us do this. You can never see below the west.
- 58:07Speaker 1: It's like a Planmate in nineteen sixty four. Always behind
- 58:10Speaker 1: a bedpost or there's a shadow. You never. You never,
- 58:13Speaker 1: I'm telling you for invited her to something. Well, yeah,
- 58:16Speaker 1: he's just so good on that one. That was good.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Get some real thoughts on planmates being hidden.
- 58:22Speaker 3: He did. I also had a one of the breaking
- 58:26Speaker 3: the was a second.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Wall, yeah, the fourteenth.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but at the very end, Perry, at the very
- 58:34Speaker 3: very end, he's like, thanks for coming, Please stay for
- 58:36Speaker 3: the end credits. If you're wondering who the best boy is,
- 58:38Speaker 3: it's somebody's nephew. Don't forget to validate your parking. And
- 58:42Speaker 3: to all the good people in the Midwest, sorry we
- 58:44Speaker 3: said so much.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that was great.
- 58:47Speaker 3: I really liked that.
- 58:49Speaker 4: There's one at the beginning of the movie, towards the
- 58:51Speaker 4: beginning that Harry says, narrating. Yeah, it was the first
- 58:55Speaker 4: time I felt how pitying is someone and wanting to
- 58:57Speaker 4: him can get all tangled up in your head over sadness. Meanwhile,
- 59:01Speaker 4: you got her Rodney. Is that sick?
- 59:03Speaker 1: Is that sick? That's sick.
- 59:05Speaker 3: Yeah. I also liked his narration too. He's like, oh,
- 59:08Speaker 3: this is bad narrating.
- 59:09Speaker 1: I have to go back, dang it. I would tell
- 59:12Speaker 1: a joke or no, no, the horse he was riding
- 59:16Speaker 1: was a blue horse or something. This islater, Come on.
- 59:21Speaker 3: I like that.
- 59:22Speaker 1: H's the love when they're arguing and he's like, no, no,
- 59:25Speaker 1: I think he means that when you say picture it
- 59:27Speaker 1: inside your head. Okay, does that mean a bullet will
- 59:28Speaker 1: be inside your head? Or picture it in your head
- 59:31Speaker 1: like form an image. He's got a point, you know.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I just love that. Shut up.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Another narrating thing is Harry. He's like, don't worry. I
- 59:40Speaker 3: saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end
- 59:42Speaker 3: this seventeen times. That was good.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I hated that.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I figured you'd hate that. And then yeah, when
- 59:48Speaker 3: Harlan Dexter gets shot, he yells out Captain Magic.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 59:56Speaker 3: That would be kind of a fun top five I
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: have just like the funniest thing. Somebody said wild that
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: would be That would be tough. We would need some time,
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: but that would be up there.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: There's a quick little throw away line. Mostly these are
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: throw away lines, but when they get away from the
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: interrogation scene and you should just harm me on the phone,
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Oh god, how did you get away? And Perry in
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: the background says I shot him with a small revolver.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: I keep near my balls.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I keep my balls near my balls.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Yeah that's good. That's a good one to end on.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Let's uh, let's go to Bug's boohoo moments. I thought
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: maybe two.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: I was going to pick zero, and I was like,
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: there might be two. That scene that's kind of really intense, uh,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: scene with Val Kilmer and the old guy from saving
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Private Ryan.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: I thought maybe that didn't get me, but it was
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: partly because of what you said where I was kind
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: of like, why this is this is I didn't remember it.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: This is weird, okay, And then I thought maybe when
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Shannon Sossimon dies that was like, really that was also
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: really intense. That she's dying and he's like puts his
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: like bloody hand up to her mouth.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: That did get me. Actually, that one got me. Yeah,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: that was weird.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: But it sends out too because right after you deal
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: with him like dealing with the fact that he just
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: killed somebody and you see him that he gets really turiated.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: He can turn on tears in his eyes so well.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: And how great was it he's like looking at her
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: as he's as he's shooting. This is doing. Yeah. I
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: thought that was a great choice.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I did like that. Yeah.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Yeah, So those are the two spots that I thought maybe,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: But Tim.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: Do you think there's any I came bos was your
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: and you just said he had won, and then I
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: heard there might have been some maybe another one.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: I don't know, there was one more, and I realized
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I was right with two. You were it was. I
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: realized why I didn't say the Lord of the Rings
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: things at the beginning, and that's because I put it
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: as one of my boosts because it made me sad.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: But I was just being silly.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: It was really just the one.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: It was just the one.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Okay, all right, cool, let's do some movie Terribia here
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: as a show of support for Robert Downey Junior's recovery
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: from alcohol and drugs, Valkimer refused to drink during the
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: entire production. So that's cool, I think. Was he like
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: newly sober at this point?
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I think so, yeah, yeah, because that's.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: How we've made his comeback, right. Was he proved he
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: could he could hang?
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Yeah? Interestingly, his first movie after he got sober, Yeah,
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: after getting sober, was one called The Singing Detective. And
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: I don't know if oh yeah produced it or directed it,
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: but mel Gibson had to pay his insurance out of
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: pocket because those studio would even give him a job
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: because he was considered unensurable.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: See Val Kilmer met Robert Downey Junior for the first
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: time at a Hollywood party. A week later, he received
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: the screenplay for this film and agreed to do it
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: before he even finished reading it, and upon agreeing, much
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: to his delight, he was informed that Downey had already
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: been cast. I thought that was fun fun. The film
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: was originally titled l A P I than Bang exclamation Point,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: but Valkilmer suggested to the director Shane Black that kiss
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Kiss Bang Bang would have more appeal. And I don't
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: remember if I wrote it down or not, but kiss
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: kiss bang bang is what they call, like, uh, James
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Bond films in other countries and things, which is.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Pretty fun well, and also the affectionate priority of film noirs.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Tropes is named for film critic Pauline Klee's influential nineteen
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: sixty eight collection of film reviews and essays.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I've just, oh, really.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: Noted in the plot summary.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Oh yes, that's right, that's right. I'm glad I didn't
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: write down. I knew you would get to it just earlier,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: and then i'd forget third Wall. Robert Downey Junior considered
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: his role as Harry Lockhart to be his calling card
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: to playing Tony Stark and iron Man. As we previously
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: said while preparing to make Iron Man, Downey Junior's performance
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: inspired director John Favreau to cast him in this role
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: so directly he was like, yeah, that's kind of what
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: we're looking for. It worked out pretty well. Vlkilmer had
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: to quickly lose fifty pounds gained for his plump role
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: in the movie called Alexander, which I never saw in
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: order to play his fit GQ character for this film.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: That was the Colin Farrell as Alexander the Great.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I saw that. I don't think it's not It wasn't
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: good two thousand and four. I didn't watch it.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't watch all of it. It wasn't good.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: That's a bummer.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Yeah. And in that too, a ton of people were
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: in it. Really yeah.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I mean it's that out sand of the Great. It's
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: like a crazy figure in history, so that makes sense.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: But it's a bummer. That didn't work. Val Kilmer walked
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: around in a five hundred dollars pair of Louis Vuitton
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: driving shoes and wore nail varnish while experimenting with several
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: variations of speech patterns for the role. Kilmer was also
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: not Or has also noted that this was done much
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: to his son Jack Kilmer's chagrin, which I think is funny.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: So he's really taking it out for a role. He's
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: finding the character, as it were, as a thank you
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: for putting him back into the A list with this film.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Robert Downey Jr. Pushed for Shane Black to be involved
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: in the Marvel franchise, and he ultimately wrote and directed
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Iron Man three.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Iron Man three, which we've all.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Agreed to never talk about again.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: See, there was some great dialogue in that movie. Though.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: It's true, actually, and that movie has aged better with time.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: I just heard someone say my favorite though, Iron Tree
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: was considered like the best of the bunch, and I
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: thought that.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Was that's crazy, that's crazy.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: Oh no, it was not. It shouldn't should not be,
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: all right, I'm glad we agree.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: Also set during Christmas.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Agreed it is during Christmas. That is true.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: That that part's nice when he's in the suburbs with
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: the boy.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Right, that kid shows up later, which is fun. Yep,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: that is fun. I do like that, but the rest
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: of it. Joel Silver noted that the film was originally
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: budgeted at ten million dollars because Warner Bros. Warner Brothers
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: was not confident in the premise. The film ran over
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: and the final budget was fifteen million dollars, but they
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: loved the film when it was screened and immediately opened
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: it at the two thousand and five Cans Film Festival,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: you know, high profile capacity. So they nailed it. And
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I think it's done well, right, it did well in
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: the box office and everything. I think, I'm not sure.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I actually don't think it did great box office was released, Okay,
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: but yeah, yeah, you couldn't make that for fifteen million. Now,
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: you couldn't even get Robert Donney Jr.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: For that budget fifteen million gross four million.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: That wow. I would have guessed more than that gross.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Worldwide seven though, So they got there.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: That's shocking. Yeah.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Interesting, Okay.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: I don't remember when it came out though, I saw
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: this two and five.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Yeah, led it killed it, let's see, Shane.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: I didn't see it in the theater either, either.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: I didn't know what it meant.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Final Shane Black read several stories by Raymond Chandler when
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: writing this script. As a result, the story is divided
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: into chapters, and the chapter titles come from Chandler's other works,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: so Trouble is My Business, Lady in the like the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Little Sister. Those are all other pieces of his which
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: I thought was fun.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: That is fun.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: The depiction of gay Perry is generally considered to be
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: the first openly gay character to front a Hollywood action movie.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Which is cool.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: That seems crazy.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that is really surprising.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: That seems like, but I don't know, and a fun character.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I really liked him a lot.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: Did we ever like think of like gay Perry, Like,
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: isn't that a saying anybody? Yeah?
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: It is?
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and I did that, I.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Guess, yeah, yeah, not that was fun.
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that is fun though.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it was weird that they had to
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: call him gay, like he could just be Perry.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Well, dude, he just what was the line?
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: He was, Yeah, he's knee deep and.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: There is That's what I say. Yeah, but he just
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: he just liked the nickname so much. What does he
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: I don't remember the line, um pepis Yeah.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Sure, something like that only worst.
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: The opening party, taking place at Harlan Dexter's mansion, was
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: shot at Shane Black's actual home. In the years between
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Black's last produced feature, The Long Kiss Good Night and
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: this one. Black had become infamous for throwing similar large,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: extravagant parties at that mansion filmed with the same are
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: filled with the same kind of industry big wigs and
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: up and comers, so art imitates life. I guess Shane
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Black had been suffering from writer's block. It ultimately took
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: him over a year and a half to write the
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: script for this film. He then had enormous trouble trying
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: to sell it. His former cachet as being the highest
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: paid screenwriter meant nothing when he was shopping his screenplay around. Eventually,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: he took it to producer Joel Silver, who gave him
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: his first break back in nineteen eighty seven for Lethal Weapon,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: and they made it together. So that was pretty well.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: This is this is something. Valkimer mentions he was thinking
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: of Kevin Bacon in the moment when he and Robert
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Downey Jr. Have to kiss to divert attention from the police,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: and then he's quoted as saying, so I could really
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: get into it.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: It's pretty great. It's probably just him being hilarious and
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: he's just a silly guy.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: I really like him, so that's so fun. Let's see
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: one scene in the film takes place in that club
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: exhibiting living art. You know that we saw Robert Downey
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Junr once worked there, so that's pretty crazy as a
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: living art piece. So that's wild. Let's see. Oh the
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: lookalike game. Oh, we should have said that. That was
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: a fun scene. I really like that scene. But the
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: lookalike game that Harry and Harmony play at the bar
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: was written in the screenplay with placeholders written in, and
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: the original placeholders were bald, Kevin Costner and black Patrick
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Swayze as examples. But when it came time to shoot
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: the scene, he lined up all the extras and found
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: the actors he wanted to use, which seems.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Intense Native American Joe Pesci. What was the other one?
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: That was the one that really stuck with.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: That one cracked me up.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: Oh Cigal, wasn't it somebody.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Like A I don't I haven't seen it.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: Was it Steven Sigal? Yeah? I don't remember. Anyway, I
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: just thought that.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Was funny and also unnerving to just stand in a
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: lineup and be like, how can we make fun of
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: you a little bit?
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: This is great? The movie shares its title, Oh the
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: The title song from the soundtrack of James Bond movie
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Thunderball was mister Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, and it was
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: recorded by Shirley Bassi and Dian Warwick, but they ended
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: up using I think like an instrumental version. So interesting,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: but I do like that title a lot.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: And then toward the end, Harry attributes Perry's d be
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: as survival to when the studio gets paranoid about a
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: downer ending. The same rationale caused a change to the
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: endings of Shane Black's prior screenplays for Leath a Weapon
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Too and the Long Kiss good Night. So I thought
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: that was kind of a fun little homage happening there.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: Homage.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that was all that I had, Rob, Did you
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: have any other.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: A couple of Yeah. Warner Brothers was willing to produce
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: the movie with a larger budget of Harrison Ford was
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: to play the detective when he passed on it. Several
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: other options were briefly considered before Val Kilmer was offered
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: the role.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Interesting actually been really good in there.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be fun.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: That's been fun. He went and did a Hollywood homicide
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: and made a really bad movie.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: Another Josh Hartnett.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, keep coming up.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I never heard of that one.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: Oh it was not good Buddy cop.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: But they didn't they like did like each other. It
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: was very like it was kind of scandalous, not scandalous,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: but it was like everybody was talking about it. They
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: didn't like each other. Yeah, and they just had no
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: chemistry at all. The other thing I saw was Johnny
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Knoxville was set to star as Harry Lockhart before being
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: replaced by Robert Downey Junior. And that not as good
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: of a movie. No, Yeah, it almost makes me wonder
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: if it was like he was the placeholder like Robert,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: like the whole bet where Colin Farrell was asking for
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: too much, Like maybe Johnny Knoxville.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: We bring him out and then you'd ask for last
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: and it'd be fine, right.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: But that was all I had. You have any other.
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: No, No, there's not a lot. I think, you know,
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: the kinda coming together of Shane Black and his debut
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: and Michelle Monahan and RDJ F of his his Tough
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: Time I thought was the most interesting bit, but nothing
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: else cool.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Well then Judgment. Will there be a sequel?
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: If there is, we won't have Gaye Perry And yeah,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: that's one of the best parts of the movie.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Although that could be an opening to make a sequel,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: like he gets murdered or something.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Maybe maybe have they made.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: It's downy and well? I guess iron Man three? We said,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: but have they made a different movie together? Since?
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: No?
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: I guess he's been pretty busy.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: So he's been doing lots of things interesting. But also
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: just you know the fact that Tony Stark is so
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: like this character. I feel like people be like, what
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: are we doing?
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: I don't think you could do it after Iron manly.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I think that that train has sailed.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Do you guys want to do a starting five?
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I'd love but I'm pretty dumb tonight, so this could
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: be rough.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: Oh timmy, all right, Starting five, I'm going to name
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: my five favorite actors from a particular film. When you
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: know the film, you're going to ring in with your name.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: If you get it wrong, there's no negative points, but
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: you won't be able to guess again for that movie.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: If there are other actors' names remaining, you can guess
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: those for a point each the other person can steal
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: if you get any of those names wrong, And all
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: of these films have something in common. When you know
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: the theme. You can ring in at any time for
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: a point.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Sweet number one, Scared Scared.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: The first name Juliette Lewis. The second name Michelle Monaghan.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Bukes, Bukes, Uh, it's Troop Beverly Hills. It's not no
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: damn you're thinking of. You're thinking of Jenny Lewis, Right,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: I was stupid. Michelle mona Han's in it. I'm pretty sure.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: Is she really?
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Maybe she's crazy? I know Gina's in it, and a
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: bunch of those folks crazy. I was definitely thinking had
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: a name yet.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Not yet, not yet, not yet, So it's Juliette Lewis,
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: not Jenny Lewis, and then Michelle Monaghan. So, Timmy, I
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: was going to say, dude, I would have been shocked
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: if you would have gotten this so early. The third
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: name is Jamie Fox. The fourth name is Robert Downey Junior, Junior,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: I'm the fifth and final name is Zach Gallifanakis. Tim
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: do date is correct?
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: Is so funny? That's a good movie?
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, but I would not. I mean
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: the fact that it was just like kind of blatantly
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: trying to be a plane sins anutomobiles. But yeah, Robert
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Tony Jr.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Is so mean to him.
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: These two year olds, like where r DJ plays Belacomber
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: and then Zack Oh plays a lesser range.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: Yeah, d j ye, But yeah, I was, I was
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: with you. I thought it was more mean than fun
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: for whatever reason.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: So is Juliet Lewis the one That's what you said, right,
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: he was in like old school.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the first one I thought of you, which
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: is like the most prominent.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Role in Yellow Jackets, right, it's I haven't seen that, yeah,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Will Fair in the beginning of that. Oh that's so good,
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Luke Wilson, Yes, oh, yes, yeah, we are doing great.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: We're doing good. Let's keep going with the game. Timmy's
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: got a point number two. The first name is Tommy
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: Lee Jones. The second name is tom size More. The
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: third name is Robert Downey Junior. Tim Tim lonely hurts,

- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Or on?
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: Or am I thinking of your on movie?
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Don't know what that is. I've heard of it, but yeah,
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: so you're out for the rest of this, Tim. The
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: fourth name is again Juliette Lewis. This is not Jenny Lewis.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: I don't know who that is.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Thomas Jones, Tom size More, Robert Downey Junior, Juliette Lewis.
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: And the fifth and final name is Woody Harrelson. Four
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: three two, I don't know one. This was a very
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: dark movie called Natural Born Killers.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: I never saw that.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: I know j was in that. Yeah, I've been a long,
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: long while.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Is the theme R d J movies.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: It's it's old J movies. Beaks is on the on
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: the board, take it, you got it? So it is
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: R d J movies. And Juliet Lewis is not in all. Okay,
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: this movie is just those first two. Julie Lewis, Jenny Lewis, No, no,
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: jul I don't know who Julie is.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: But who's the asshole? Now let's go number three?

- 1:19:36Speaker 3: see number three. The first name is Daniel Roebuck, which
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: I would be extremely impressed if you know.
