  Elon Musk made a pretty wild announcement on Monday, and he

  said that he'll create a new political party if Congress

  passes President Donald Trump's massive domestic spending bill.

  Musk said the America Party will be formed the next day if the

  legislation clears its first and final hurdle in the Senate.

  He made the statement on X and as the Senate entered its final
• 0:39
  amendment phase for the expected July 4th deadline.

  Now Musk made this threat and the followed a weekend Baraja
• 0:47
  posts attacking what he called an insane bill.

  He claimed it would raise the national debt by $5 trillion,
• 0:54
  cripple clean energy industries and reward fossil fuels.

  His statements marked a return to direct political combat after
• 1:02
  weeks of relative quiet following a brief reconciliation
• 1:07
  with Donald Trump. Now, Musk's renewed stance
• 1:10
  appears rooted in both economic and ideological objections to
• 1:14
  the bill's contents and its long term effects.

  This legislation, which Donald Trump called his Big Beautiful
• 1:21
  Bill or Three BS, BBB, contains sweeping tax changes, subsidies
• 1:26
  and budgetary restructures. It includes a new federal
• 1:29
  subsidy for coal used in steel production and cuts to renewable
• 1:34
  energy incentives now. Musk claimed these changes would
• 1:39
  harm industries he believes are essential for long term national
• 1:42
  competitiveness. He cited planned tax increases
• 1:45
  on solar, battery, geothermal, wind and nuclear energy projects
• 1:50
  as a direct threat. Thousands of companies and
• 1:52
  workers in the clean energy sector, including Musk's own
• 1:56
  Tesla. Imagine that now.

  Musk also targeted Republican lawmakers who support the bill.

  He accused them of abandoning the fiscal responsibility

  pledges and declared he would use his money and influence to

  oust them from office. He wrote that every lawmaker who

  ran on reducing government spending and then supported the
• 2:14
  bill should hang their head in shame and added they quote, will
• 2:19
  lose their primary next year. If it is the last thing I do on

  These posts coincided with his tagging conservative lawmakers
• 2:27
  Chip Roy and Eddie Harris demanding they explain how they
• 2:31
  could support what he labeled a debt slavery bill.

  Now, Tesla's energy division, which includes solar panel and
• 2:40
  battery system installations, stands to be directly affected
• 2:43
  by the bill. No matter what you think, Elon
• 2:46
  Musk is being affected as well. Musk claimed that the proposed
• 2:50
  tax burdens and removal of subsidies would undercut
• 2:53
  companies investing in future energy technologies.

  He said the bill offers handouts to obsolete industries while
• 2:59
  punishing the emergency sectors that are needed to maintain US
• 3:03
  leadership in global innovations.

  A Tesla stock dropped 14% in a single day after Musk's initial
• 3:09
  round of criticism following reports at the White House was
• 3:12
  reviewing Tesla's federal contracts.

  Elon Musk's feud with Trump reached its peak a fever pitch
• 3:19
  earlier in June when he called the bill a disgusting
• 3:22
  abomination and demanded Congress kill the bill now.

  This marked a sharp reversal from his earlier alignment with
• 3:29
  Donald Trump, during which Musk led the Department of Government
• 3:32
  Efficiency, or DOGE, controversial White House
• 3:34
  initiative. It's focused on deregulation.

  Elon Musk also donated about $250 million to Trump's re
• 3:43
  election campaign, making one of the president's most generous.
• 3:46
  Private supporters of the two appeared to briefly mend the
• 3:50
  relationship after Musk softened his rhetoric and expressed
• 3:54
  regret over several of his posts on X.

  And during that time, he supported the president's
• 3:59
  immigration proposals and reduced his political posting on
• 4:03
  X, going back to his old ways of posting about Tesla, clean
• 4:07
  energy, SpaceX rockets, Boring Company, Neuralink, things like
• 4:12
  that, things that we grew up believing that that was what he
• 4:17
  want to do and going to Mars as well.

  Now, he supported Donald Trump, he supported the immigration
• 4:24
  proposals, and now he's reducing his political posting on X.
• 4:30
  But then Saturday's legislative debate in Musk's 54th birthday
• 4:34
  seemed to reignite this conflict.
• 4:37
  Activists from a group called Tesla Takedown organized public
• 4:41
  protests that day, criticizing his connections to Trump in his
• 4:44
  recent support for Germany's far right Afd party.
• 4:48
  Now Musk reignited the political dispute Monday, calling the
• 4:52
  GOP's legislation utterly insane and destructive.
• 4:57
  He wrote that it would destroy millions of American jobs and
• 5:00
  expose the country to long term strategic risks.
• 5:03
  He accused the bill of favoring outdated industries, saying it
• 5:07
  offers financial incentives to sectors that no longer drive
• 5:10
  innovation. Now, in response to Musk's
• 5:14
  statements, Trump told Fox News that Musk was simply angry
• 5:17
  because the bill would eliminate certain electric vehicle
• 5:19
  subsidies. And that's probably true.
• 5:22
  Trump praised Musk as a smart guy and said he would continue
• 5:25
  to secede, but did not address the bill's effects on energy
• 5:29
  policy or the national debt. White House has not issued a
• 5:32
  formal statement beyond Trump's comments.

  The Musk said the American Party will serve as an alternative

  what he calls the Democratic Republican Unit Party.

  He said the country no longer has genuine political

  competition. He described the current

  structure as a Porky Pig Party in reference to the bill's
• 5:53
  massive debt ceiling increase. He told his followers that it is
• 5:56
  obvious the country needs new representation because existing
• 6:00
  parties no longer prioritize voters interests.

  Now, the Senate is expected to vote on the bill before July
• 6:08
  4th. Musk's future moves will likely
• 6:11
  hinge on whether the legislation passes and how House Republicans
• 6:15
  react to his threats. He's threatening to basically
• 6:20
  make them not have jobs. Is that important enough to
• 6:26
  them, or is this bill more important to them?
• 6:28
  It really depends. Do they want a job next year?
• 6:31
  Well, we're going to see if they do and what Elon actually does
• 6:35
  when this bill passes because more than likely it's going to
• 6:38
  pass. If it does, we're going to see
