- 0:58Speaker 4: Heather MacDonald. Juicy Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Well,
- 1:06Speaker 4: to my Canadians, I still love you and I love
- 1:10Speaker 4: that you're happy for me. I'm happy because we won
- 1:14Speaker 4: the gold in hockey. And it's especially exciting for my
- 1:18Speaker 4: family because Charlie McAvoy is my cousin and he was
- 1:23Speaker 4: number 25 on the winning USA hockey team. And the
- 1:27Speaker 4: whole game was just so exciting besides it having a
- 1:31Speaker 4: Juicy Scoop connection. It was there were so many amazing
- 1:36Speaker 4: things that I just want to go through that were
- 1:38Speaker 4: just like emotional and fabulous besides it being a nail
- 1:42Speaker 4: biting game that went into overtime. It did start at
- 1:45Speaker 4: 5am here in LA, not the most ideal time to
- 1:48Speaker 4: have a party or go to a party, but I
- 1:51Speaker 4: woke up at like 145, could not get back to sleep,
- 1:54Speaker 4: was up at 440. And then we just watched it
- 1:56Speaker 4: from 5 a.m. together at my house, nail biting. So
- 2:01Speaker 4: it was just amazing. And I just was texting my cousin, a.k.a.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Big Charlie. the dad, Charlie McAvoy, famous from McAvoy Plumbing,
- 2:13Speaker 4: four generations of plumbing. They run Long Beach, New York.
- 2:17Speaker 4: And it's just, it's really cool to talk to him.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I know I have many parents that listen to the
- 2:24Speaker 4: show that have kids that are very big in competitive sports.
- 2:29Speaker 4: And just to think that all that hard work and
- 2:31Speaker 4: dedication and then you're sitting on the other side, watching
- 2:35Speaker 4: your child win the gold for America. And the team
- 2:41Speaker 4: was just so beautiful to each other. And it just
- 2:45Speaker 4: really made me excited. So here's a photo of, um,
- 2:50Speaker 4: Big Charlie hugging little Charlie McAvoy, which I just love.
- 2:54Speaker 4: And Charlie McAvoy with his adorable baby. This little boy
- 3:00Speaker 4: is just the cutest and has strong genes. This little face,
- 3:05Speaker 4: I just can't stop. I eat him up. And so
- 3:09Speaker 4: it just was beautiful. It was beautiful to watch and
- 3:12Speaker 4: post about it. And then, of course, they took the
- 3:15Speaker 4: team photo, which was fabulous. I loved that Charlie got
- 3:19Speaker 4: right in the middle. But for those of you who
- 3:22Speaker 4: weren't aware, who kind of wondered what was going on
- 3:24Speaker 4: when they were taking the team photo is number 13, Grideau.
- 3:30Speaker 4: It was very, very tragic thing happened. Both he and
- 3:33Speaker 4: his brother were killed while riding their bikes the night
- 3:36Speaker 4: before their sister's wedding by a drunk driver, absolutely horrible.
- 3:40Speaker 4: And he was a young dad with two little kids
- 3:43Speaker 4: and his wife was there And the players went and
- 3:45Speaker 4: got the little girl who looked to be about three
- 3:49Speaker 4: and the little boy whose birthday it happened to be,
- 3:51Speaker 4: who was two, and went and took the photo with
- 3:54Speaker 4: the team. So that was an extremely special moment. And
- 4:00Speaker 4: then also Jack Hughes, who got the winning goal, right
- 4:08Speaker 4: before that, he had his teeth knocked out. And he
- 4:11Speaker 4: continued to play. So that's just like such a crazy
- 4:14Speaker 4: hockey moment. I don't know how someone could do that.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I had a pickleball one time come slightly breeze across
- 4:21Speaker 4: my lip and I had to take a two week break.
- 4:24Speaker 4: So I can't even imagine. As a mom, hockey is
- 4:28Speaker 4: a very hard thing to watch, even if you're not
- 4:30Speaker 4: related to anybody on the court, on the ice. But
- 4:34Speaker 4: he also, both he and his brother were on the
- 4:37Speaker 4: team together, which was super cool. And their mom was...
- 4:43Speaker 4: helped coach the winning girls hockey team. And he is
- 4:47Speaker 4: the first, I think, Jewish player to win a gold
- 4:51Speaker 4: in hockey. So all of that, all firsts, all super exciting.
- 4:55Speaker 4: And they're all really charming in their interviews, which... That's
- 4:58Speaker 4: why there's just so many videos. Also, the algorithm probably
- 5:01Speaker 4: knows that I'm obsessed with it and the whole day.
- 5:04Speaker 4: So I was watching all these videos, which was amazing. Also,
- 5:09Speaker 4: one of the players named Haley, who won the gold
- 5:11Speaker 4: for the girls hockey team, she has three older brothers
- 5:16Speaker 4: that also played hockey as well. And so I'm watching
- 5:19Speaker 4: those cute little videos. She was the youngest one. They
- 5:21Speaker 4: basically taught her how to play, but then she was
- 5:23Speaker 4: the one that succeeded and they were in the stands
- 5:26Speaker 4: cheering her on. And there's just a lot of generational
- 5:31Speaker 4: things that went on. In fact, Charlie McAvoy's, the coach
- 5:35Speaker 4: is his, uh, father-in-law that is Kylie Sullivan, his wife's, um, father.
- 5:40Speaker 4: And it was just, all of it was so cool. And,
- 5:43Speaker 4: you know, um, not to make it about me, but
- 5:47Speaker 4: can I just say, I'm really proud to know this
- 5:49Speaker 4: family and what they did to get here. And different
- 5:55Speaker 4: injuries and illnesses and things that really made the year difficult.
- 6:00Speaker 4: So for him to do so well on the ice
- 6:02Speaker 4: and now they're stuck in Italy because there's a snowstorm
- 6:06Speaker 4: and they can't fly back to New York right now,
- 6:07Speaker 4: but it was just amazing. And then of course we
- 6:12Speaker 4: all fell in love watching the gold winner, Alyssa Liu,
- 6:17Speaker 4: who in her gold dress just did the most incredible
- 6:20Speaker 4: ice skating routine and just she, one of the things
- 6:25Speaker 4: about her was once she just decided to like be
- 6:28Speaker 4: herself on the ice, then is when she really skyrocketed.
- 6:33Speaker 4: And she just was the most natural effortless. I mean,
- 6:37Speaker 4: it's like why you think you could ice skate because
- 6:39Speaker 4: she made it look so easy. So that was her story.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Super inspiring. So that was a really nice way to
- 6:47Speaker 4: end the Olympics and we won the most medals and blah, blah, blah. So, Um,
- 6:53Speaker 4: now let's get into some other followups on, on things. Sadly,
- 6:57Speaker 4: Nancy Guthrie is still missing and there are people that
- 7:02Speaker 4: thinks that she might've gone to Mexico. There has been some, um,
- 7:08Speaker 4: you know, internet detectives that saw that there was a
- 7:10Speaker 4: private plane that left at a certain hour. The, uh,
- 7:15Speaker 4: the chief of, uh, the sheriff, uh, of Pima County,
- 7:19Speaker 4: Chris Nanos is, you know, giving us updates, but it's not, it's,
- 7:26Speaker 4: there isn't much there. They're like, we're working on the
- 7:29Speaker 4: DNA and it's taking longer, but we, but it also
- 7:32Speaker 4: moves really fast. So we could have a connection in
- 7:35Speaker 4: two to three weeks, two to three months, or might
- 7:37Speaker 4: take up to a year. We don't know, but there's
- 7:40Speaker 4: some DNA testing that's going on with, what was found
- 7:44Speaker 4: on the ring cam to something else. Then all of
- 7:48Speaker 4: a sudden these mothers just said, we are going to
- 7:51Speaker 4: go find Nancy Guthrie. And they met at Holly Lobby,
- 7:57Speaker 4: Hobby Lobby. So they met at Hobby Lobby and they
- 8:00Speaker 4: went looking out around the Tucson area and around her
- 8:04Speaker 4: home and they found an abandoned backpack, but it is
- 8:08Speaker 4: not the same backpack that was seen in the person
- 8:12Speaker 4: who had touched the ring cam and tried to put
- 8:14Speaker 4: the shrub over it, there could be more people than
- 8:18Speaker 4: just that person involved. There could be several people and
- 8:20Speaker 4: they went out a different door. Um, we still just
- 8:25Speaker 4: don't have any answers. Uh, are there a lot of
- 8:28Speaker 4: weird coincidences and strange things? Yes. That she was you know, uh,
- 8:34Speaker 4: taken right around the big drop of the Epstein files
- 8:38Speaker 4: and Savannah had interviewed Epstein people and her husband had
- 8:42Speaker 4: worked for a company that was involved with, uh, the
- 8:46Speaker 4: Clintons and, you know, everything is connected. Doesn't mean that
- 8:50Speaker 4: it's anything more. Everything's connected. We've talked about a lot
- 8:54Speaker 4: of the weird coincidences, what she wrote in her book
- 8:56Speaker 4: was strange. Um, And then it's like, are we just,
- 9:01Speaker 4: is all the world a stage? Like Shakespeare said, are
- 9:04Speaker 4: we just living in some weird matrix? I don't know,
- 9:07Speaker 4: but we just hope that she is safe and that
- 9:10Speaker 4: we have some answers sooner than later. Yes, there is
- 9:14Speaker 4: an A & E reality show called Desert Law and
- 9:18Speaker 4: Sheriff Chris Nanos doesn't appear on it that much, but
- 9:23Speaker 4: he is a consulting producer. And that is weird and
- 9:29Speaker 4: great for the series that this is going to be
- 9:32Speaker 4: this investigation. I most likely, I would assume, how could
- 9:35Speaker 4: they not will be covered on the reality show when
- 9:39Speaker 4: it comes back. So strange. Um, Today, Nick Reiner did
- 9:46Speaker 4: enter a plea of not guilty. He is working with
- 9:49Speaker 4: his public defender, Kimberly Green, I believe her last name is,
- 9:53Speaker 4: and they said he's not guilty. He has a shaved head.
- 9:56Speaker 4: He was in his, you know, jumpsuit. He is being detained.
- 10:00Speaker 4: for the stabbing deaths of both of his parents. I
- 10:04Speaker 4: assume not guilty reason of insanity, but I don't know.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Maybe he is actually going to try to say he
- 10:10Speaker 4: didn't do it. We will see. But all we know
- 10:13Speaker 4: is that he said not guilty. Now this, it was
- 10:16Speaker 4: going viral. I've seen this I don't know who was
- 10:21Speaker 4: the originator of this video. It's gone many places. So, um,
- 10:26Speaker 4: and many people have compared it. There is a guy
- 10:28Speaker 4: walking by what appears to be a street in Quebec
- 10:32Speaker 4: based on everybody's recognizing the area. And there is a
- 10:36Speaker 4: woman who would be approximately the age of Ghislaine Maxwell.
- 10:42Speaker 4: And she has a hat on and a turtleneck and
- 10:44Speaker 4: a blue coat. And he walks by and he goes, Ghislaine.
- 10:47Speaker 4: And she goes, what? And he goes, Ghislaine. And she goes,
- 10:50Speaker 4: oh no, that's not me. And he goes, oh, I
- 10:53Speaker 4: used to get hella pizza from you. And she goes, okay.
- 10:56Speaker 4: And then she's with this older guy that someone said
- 10:58Speaker 4: looks like he could be Alan Dershowitz. People have zoomed
- 11:02Speaker 4: in and the eyes and the teeth are exactly the
- 11:05Speaker 4: same as Ghislaine. Other people said there's reports that this
- 11:09Speaker 4: has been altered. So someone with the way AI is,
- 11:14Speaker 4: I don't know. It would be I don't know if
- 11:18Speaker 4: this is real or not, but it's very compelling if
- 11:21Speaker 4: it is that she, we know, I know a hundred
- 11:24Speaker 4: percent of certainty that the woman that we saw that
- 11:28Speaker 4: gave the report a couple of weeks ago from prison
- 11:31Speaker 4: is absolutely not Ghislaine.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Different eye shape, different nose, all of it. This woman
- 11:39Speaker 4: looks just like her. So who knows, um, where she is.
- 11:45Speaker 4: but very, very strange. And when you really look at
- 11:48Speaker 4: it together, um, you know, it, it, it could be here,
- 11:52Speaker 4: but it also might not be. So, and it might
- 11:54Speaker 4: be just a real person that just didn't miss that
- 11:56Speaker 4: misheard him. And he, he might've passed her earlier and
- 12:00Speaker 4: been like, that woman could be Ghislaine. I'm going to
- 12:02Speaker 4: walk by and say that. And she was like, what?
- 12:04Speaker 5: Oh no.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Okay. Like just thinks it's simple and funny. I don't know. Um, Now,
- 12:10Speaker 4: another thing that is being looked at, as we explore
- 12:14Speaker 4: that nothing is a conspiracy theory and the whole world
- 12:17Speaker 4: is involved with some sick shit from all entities of
- 12:20Speaker 4: the world, that in film, they've been telling this forever. Now,
- 12:26Speaker 4: I have talked about Woody Allen, also best buds with
- 12:29Speaker 4: Epstein all over the files, that he would write these
- 12:32Speaker 4: movies that would make you think, Oh, I guess you,
- 12:38Speaker 4: you know, I guess a young girl would want to,
- 12:41Speaker 4: you know, screw Woody Allen with his tiny, skinny, ugly body.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Even when he was 40, he was tiny, skinny and ugly,
- 12:48Speaker 4: but he always was writing these movies where like a
- 12:50Speaker 4: 17 year old girl just couldn't get enough of him.
- 12:52Speaker 4: And she was having dinner with he and his friends.
- 12:55Speaker 4: And then another woman like, and it was always just
- 12:57Speaker 4: like all these women would just be in love with him.
- 12:59Speaker 4: And he would be kind of funny, like, Oh, I
- 13:01Speaker 4: don't know what to do. I don't know why, how
- 13:02Speaker 4: to get rid of this girl. It's so into me.
- 13:04Speaker 4: He was 17. And, you know, there was a movie called,
- 13:08Speaker 4: there was a book and a movie called Lolita. And
- 13:10Speaker 4: that was about a man who has a relationship with
- 13:15Speaker 4: his girlfriend's daughter, who's like 14. And the whole thing
- 13:18Speaker 4: is written like she is the aggressor in this whole thing.
- 13:22Speaker 4: It's all been put out there. It's all been put
- 13:24Speaker 4: out there to get our mind to accept that this
- 13:28Speaker 4: could be normal. So Now people are going back and
- 13:33Speaker 4: looking at all the movies that were put out about
- 13:36Speaker 4: it from Eyes Wide Shut to Blink Twice to Rosemary's Baby,
- 13:42Speaker 4: where they sell their soul to the devil and give
- 13:45Speaker 4: their baby to the devil. And I mean, that was,
- 13:47Speaker 4: you know, a huge hit, a huge movie. There's always
- 13:51Speaker 4: been movies and things about satanic worship. There's always been
- 13:57Speaker 4: tons of artists, especially in the last 20 years, that
- 14:00Speaker 4: make their live production shows all about the Antichrist and
- 14:05Speaker 4: satanic and all of this stuff. And we've just been like, oh, oh,
- 14:08Speaker 4: it's fun. You know, and how far do you take it?
- 14:11Speaker 4: Do you start to explore what people wore to Halloween? Like,
- 14:15Speaker 4: you know, I just wrote Drake the other day. I said,
- 14:18Speaker 4: the pizza is almost ready out of the oven. You know, like,
- 14:23Speaker 4: is that going to be somehow like, of course you'd
- 14:27Speaker 4: be like, Heather, no, these were in the files. And
- 14:28Speaker 4: there was, yes, I know. No one talks about pizza
- 14:31Speaker 4: that much. I agree with you. It's sick shit. I
- 14:34Speaker 4: agree with all of it. But now what's really interesting
- 14:38Speaker 4: is all of a sudden people are just watching a
- 14:41Speaker 4: movie that they didn't even think about. That wasn't, it's
- 14:43Speaker 4: not one of those eyes wide shut movies. It's not
- 14:46Speaker 4: about this crazy stuff or the menu or all these
- 14:49Speaker 4: other things, you know? or chefs making, having to get a,
- 14:54Speaker 4: there's another movie out about a chef that, that takes
- 14:58Speaker 4: over the identity of another chef because he thinks it's
- 15:01Speaker 4: a great job, but that he has to then like
- 15:03Speaker 4: make human, humans into the dinner. And how does he
- 15:06Speaker 4: get out of this weird situation? Now, you know, many
- 15:08Speaker 4: chefs accidentally died that were in high positions recently that
- 15:13Speaker 4: like drowned in like, you know, four feet of water
- 15:16Speaker 4: and weird things like that. Okay. But In this one,
- 15:20Speaker 4: this is from Marcus Hemp. There's this movie with Jennifer Garner.
- 15:27Speaker 4: And I'm just saying she's the star of it because
- 15:30Speaker 4: I can't recall what movie it is. And it's just
- 15:32Speaker 4: this innocuous scene where they just go and they are
- 15:37Speaker 4: like at a restaurant or a pizza place. Yes, a
- 15:39Speaker 4: pizza place. And right in the scene, because it's screen
- 15:44Speaker 4: grabbed right here, there's just some photos of a young
- 15:50Speaker 4: pubescent boy taking off his shirt, like in a photo album,
- 15:55Speaker 4: among other photos that would be at like the manager's desk.
- 16:00Speaker 4: And it's there. And you're like, this is so weird.
- 16:03Speaker 4: So then you're thinking, who was the set designer on
- 16:06Speaker 4: that show? Did they just actually go to a place
- 16:09Speaker 4: and not realize that that was someone's kids? But no,
- 16:12Speaker 4: not for a major motion picture. Everything is set and planned.
- 16:15Speaker 4: same way Balenciaga did those ads with the, you know,
- 16:23Speaker 4: handbag on top of the law about child corn, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff. It's just weird. It's weird
- 16:30Speaker 4: how blatantly things have now been put in front of
- 16:32Speaker 4: us over and over. I believe the creator of Simpsons
- 16:37Speaker 4: is in the Epstein files where people would be like,
- 16:40Speaker 4: why were there so much, why were there so many,
- 16:42Speaker 4: so many things in the Simpsons, you know, about what
- 16:45Speaker 4: now we're experiencing and the futuristic, it's all bizarre and
- 16:51Speaker 4: it's very juicy. So you can believe it, not look
- 16:55Speaker 4: it up. I don't really care, but I'm just telling you,
- 16:58Speaker 4: it's really strange. The more, um, people kind of open
- 17:01Speaker 4: their eyes to it and then discover the connections. Oh,
- 17:05Speaker 4: speaking of gold medals one more time, I won a
- 17:09Speaker 4: silver everybody. I won a, uh, I am the 2025
- 17:14Speaker 4: silver winner, juicy scoop, best pop culture show, Heather McDonald.
- 17:19Speaker 4: This is the signal awards, very heavy, beautiful award. Um,
- 17:25Speaker 4: I can add it now to my reality, uh, TV
- 17:28Speaker 4: award in which I won for best podcast there a
- 17:31Speaker 4: couple of years ago. And I want to thank them
- 17:33Speaker 4: for that. And, um, so yeah, amazing that I also,
- 17:38Speaker 4: it's not a gold, but it is a silver.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:44Speaker 4: And then biggest news in the Epstein situation is that
- 17:48Speaker 4: Prince Andrew has been arrested. And as of today, so
- 17:53Speaker 4: has Peter Mendelsohn. He is the UK ambassador to to
- 17:58Speaker 4: the United States of America, and they have both been
- 18:01Speaker 4: arrested for the same thing, which is suspicion of misconduct,
- 18:07Speaker 4: meaning they shared information about the royals' finances or whatever
- 18:15Speaker 4: that could be. It's a broad thing, but basically it's
- 18:19Speaker 4: not on trafficking or anything like that. But Prince Andrew
- 18:24Speaker 4: was arrested, he has been released on bail, and then today...
- 18:28Speaker 4: someone went to the Louvre and hung his photo up
- 18:35Speaker 4: at the Louvre. This is also where they stole all
- 18:39Speaker 4: those jewels. So I don't know what is going on
- 18:41Speaker 4: with the security at the Louvre, but like, can we
- 18:45Speaker 4: get some mall cops or somebody else over there because
- 18:49Speaker 4: it's very strange but it's a uk-based activist group called
- 18:52Speaker 4: the people versus elon poked fun at andrew um by
- 18:56Speaker 4: framing a now famous photo of the former prince slumped
- 18:59Speaker 4: in the back seat of a car with a horrified
- 19:01Speaker 4: look on his face and it's hanging against a wall
- 19:04Speaker 4: inside the louvre on sunday so interesting also sarah ferguson
- 19:10Speaker 4: who is also in the file's uh, writing Jeffrey Epstein
- 19:16Speaker 4: being like, I know that the Prince and I are
- 19:17Speaker 4: no longer together, but you're, you're my best friend. And
- 19:21Speaker 4: won't you please call me back? And she writes about
- 19:24Speaker 4: her daughters to him. And she also, um, asked for
- 19:29Speaker 4: like $ 20, 000 or something that she needs money and that
- 19:33Speaker 4: she could help him out doing things. And she has
- 19:37Speaker 4: checked herself into a pricey wellness clinic in Switzerland. So
- 19:43Speaker 4: it's a recovery clinic. I don't know if it's necessarily
- 19:45Speaker 4: rehab or just meaning to get away from her life
- 19:48Speaker 4: that is a disaster because she's a disaster they also
- 19:52Speaker 4: went inside the Lolita Express this is the actual plane
- 19:58Speaker 4: that Jeffrey owned it's huge I saw the video the
- 20:02Speaker 4: people walking in it it is could seat 30 to
- 20:05Speaker 4: 40 people it has a full bedroom and Um, it
- 20:10Speaker 4: has like a walkie talkie in the drawers. The bed
- 20:13Speaker 4: has got a lot of bed, bed bugs and things
- 20:16Speaker 4: like that because it has not been used in 10 years.
- 20:18Speaker 4: It's just sitting there and somehow these people were able
- 20:21Speaker 4: to go inside it. Um, so it's just creepy just
- 20:26Speaker 4: because you recognize it in the photos of, you know,
- 20:29Speaker 4: with people's faces blacked out or not of all the
- 20:32Speaker 4: times and all the people that took that to get to, um,
- 20:38Speaker 4: Epstein Island. And that people blatantly called it the Lolita
- 20:41Speaker 4: Express was just weird. So that was interesting.
- 20:46Speaker 5: What's the story, lad? Uh, how you getting on?
- 20:49Speaker 4: What's with the mustache? What, this thing? Lad, as if
- 20:52Speaker 4: you could grow one.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Calm down. You also said I couldn't do the chili challenge.
- 20:56Speaker 5: Remember that?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Me?
- 20:58Speaker 4: Come on, we remember it well.
- 20:59Speaker 5: You were on the floor. Look, first of all, it
- 21:01Speaker 5: was a steaming hot day and it's a chili. I
- 21:03Speaker 5: still got through it.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Come on, don't embarrass yourself. You were in a right
- 21:06Speaker 4: state that day.
- 21:07Speaker 5: This Movember, challenge each other to grow moustaches for men's health.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Make a growmitment at movember.com. Right, look, I'll grow one.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Come on, so.
- 21:16Speaker 6: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 21:20Speaker 6: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 21:23Speaker 6: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 21:27Speaker 6: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 21:35Speaker 4: filed against me.
- 21:36Speaker 2: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 21:38Speaker 2: what would you do if it was given back?
- 21:41Speaker 6: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 21:44Speaker 6: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 21:46Speaker 4: He said, I have a work dad.
- 21:47Speaker 6: I need a home dad.
- 21:48Speaker 2: What happens next?
- 21:49Speaker 4: When I came in, he started crying.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 21:56Speaker 6: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 21:58Speaker 6: happens next.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I decided to risk it all. I realized how valuable
- 22:02Speaker 2: every day was.
- 22:03Speaker 4: You're worth the work.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 22:06Speaker 4: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 22:08Speaker 6: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 22:22Speaker 4: Okay, also, this was crazy. A Tourette's activist shouted out
- 22:28Speaker 4: the N-word during the BAFTA's telecast. And Michael B. Jordan
- 22:34Speaker 4: and Delroy Lindo were on stage about to, you know,
- 22:38Speaker 4: deliver an award. And this man screamed out the N-word.
- 22:44Speaker 4: But he is a Tourette's activist. And, I mean.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I know Tourette's is a real thing, but this is just, again,
- 22:58Speaker 4: a little too much of a coincidence, a little too awful.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I assume, I don't know how this is not related
- 23:07Speaker 4: to what came out of this man's mouth. I mean,
- 23:09Speaker 4: awful and weird and, I mean, all caught in the telecast,
- 23:16Speaker 4: everything about it is just crazy. The activist's name is
- 23:21Speaker 4: John Davidson. And I don't know what they did. Like,
- 23:24Speaker 4: do you escort him out? Are you like, well, he
- 23:28Speaker 4: has Tourette's. I mean, it's like out of like a
- 23:30Speaker 4: Larry David episode, truly, of Curb Your Enthusiasm. This was
- 23:36Speaker 4: a story that you never hear. A North Carolina mother
- 23:40Speaker 4: was found alive 24 years after vanishing. So this mother
- 23:45Speaker 4: of three said she was going shopping right before Christmas
- 23:50Speaker 4: in 2001 and And went missing. And everybody said, well,
- 23:56Speaker 4: clearly this is foul play. Something horrible happened to her.
- 24:00Speaker 4: She would have never abandoned her three children, especially right
- 24:03Speaker 4: before Christmas. She was found in North Carolina perfectly fine.
- 24:08Speaker 4: She really did leave her three kids. It sounds like.
- 24:14Speaker 4: You know, they're still trying to find more information, but
- 24:17Speaker 4: she is, it's definitely her. She is completely fine. And
- 24:22Speaker 4: obviously her daughter has some mixed emotions, um, pissed, sad,
- 24:28Speaker 4: but also like happy that her mom is alive. I
- 24:31Speaker 4: don't know how you would explain that and why you'd
- 24:34Speaker 4: ever want to talk to this woman again. I mean,
- 24:36Speaker 4: this is whatever you want to think about Sherry Papini.
- 24:40Speaker 4: This is like 24 times worse because it was 24
- 24:44Speaker 4: years that she was doing this. So I, That's probably
- 24:47Speaker 4: going to, we're probably going to learn more about this story.
- 24:49Speaker 4: I'm sure there'll be a doc on it or she'll
- 24:51Speaker 4: start her own podcast and tell us what she's been
- 24:53Speaker 4: doing the last 24 years being child free. Um, Bonnie blue. Okay.
- 24:59Speaker 4: And you're like, Heather, I hate this person. So do I,
- 25:02Speaker 4: this is the girl, very pretty blonde blue eyed girl.
- 25:07Speaker 4: That's calls herself Bonnie blue that goes on these marathon, uh,
- 25:12Speaker 4: gang bangs where people line up and she does videos
- 25:16Speaker 4: and they have masks on. And now, you know, she's
- 25:20Speaker 4: saying that she's pregnant after having unprotected sex with 400 men.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I want to go on the record to say, I
- 25:27Speaker 4: think this is all a hoax. I think this is
- 25:29Speaker 4: all BS. I think that she is not doing this
- 25:34Speaker 4: for real. Um, I think she's paying guys to wear
- 25:38Speaker 4: masks and pretend that they waited in line to have
- 25:41Speaker 4: sex with her. And then she makes money off only
- 25:44Speaker 4: fan stuff. I don't know. You tell me, can anybody
- 25:47Speaker 4: watch the actual video of 400 guys having sex with her? Like,
- 25:53Speaker 4: is this real content? And I know, but you're like,
- 25:57Speaker 4: but yeah. And why does us weekly report on it?
- 25:59Speaker 4: Because it gets clicks, I guess. I mean, I've, I'm
- 26:04Speaker 4: proud to say I've skipped like 15 stories that I've
- 26:07Speaker 4: seen about this chick. And, but I just had to
- 26:10Speaker 4: go on the record to say, I don't think she's pregnant.
- 26:14Speaker 4: I think it's all BS. You know what? Maybe she
- 26:17Speaker 4: is pregnant, but I don't think it's from one of
- 26:19Speaker 4: these 400 guys. I don't think this is real. I've
- 26:22Speaker 4: heard everything from, you know, she was born of the
- 26:28Speaker 4: opposite sex and transitioned to, you know, no, this is
- 26:32Speaker 4: all real. And she just loves to have sex. And
- 26:34Speaker 4: she has a husband who loves her or a boyfriend
- 26:36Speaker 4: who loves her. I don't know, but I am going
- 26:39Speaker 4: to say, I look forward to the documentary that's going
- 26:44Speaker 4: to come out in 2027. That's going to be like,
- 26:47Speaker 4: so we're doing this now. Um, I remember when she
- 26:52Speaker 4: became Bonnie blue.
- 26:54Speaker 3: What?
- 26:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I think. And that's my prediction. Also
- 26:59Speaker 4: enough with this. I just saw TMZ is doing a documentary, um,
- 27:05Speaker 4: about that. The Pepsi commercial disaster was not caused by
- 27:10Speaker 4: a hair product when poor Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire.
- 27:15Speaker 4: And then he became, um, addicted to painkillers because it
- 27:19Speaker 4: was so incredibly painful. all right, do we need a
- 27:24Speaker 4: whole doc on it? Like really, honestly, I'm going to
- 27:27Speaker 4: watch the biopic in which his nephew is playing him.
- 27:30Speaker 4: I'm sure the Pepsi commercial will be part of that.
- 27:32Speaker 4: I've seen so many made for TV movies and things
- 27:36Speaker 4: where the hand comes up and he, you know, it
- 27:39Speaker 4: was during the commercial and what that did to him.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I just, I don't care if it was caused by
- 27:44Speaker 4: the hairspray or not. Who the fuck cares? I don't know. I'm,
- 27:48Speaker 4: I don't know why this like pissed me off so much,
- 27:50Speaker 4: but I just think someone would go, well, Heather, that's
- 27:53Speaker 4: really what started, you know, him being in pain and,
- 27:56Speaker 4: and where he got, okay, I guess, but I don't know.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Now let's get into the real housewives of Beverly Hills
- 28:04Speaker 4: a little bit of a very interesting thing that happened.
- 28:08Speaker 4: So three of the girls, Kyle and Dorit and, um,
- 28:15Speaker 4: Rachel's they go off to the Hamptons, which is fun
- 28:17Speaker 4: to see, um, them all at the surf lodge and
- 28:20Speaker 4: having fun and, you know, pretty scenery. They didn't invite
- 28:24Speaker 4: the other girls. And so Sutton and Erica Jane go
- 28:30Speaker 4: to meet Denise Richards, who at this time of filming, she,
- 28:35Speaker 4: the news had broke that, um, she was getting a
- 28:39Speaker 4: restraining order against her husband, Aaron, who also appeared on
- 28:42Speaker 4: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for, um, physical abuse. And
- 28:47Speaker 4: it was very good the way they shot the scene
- 28:51Speaker 4: and what the girls were saying in their authentic moment
- 28:55Speaker 4: that Erica and Denise had a good rapport and that
- 28:59Speaker 4: they'd reached out to each other over hard times. So
- 29:02Speaker 4: they meet. Denise shows up. She looks great. She's like,
- 29:05Speaker 4: I'm six weeks out from having a facelift. I also
- 29:08Speaker 4: had gotten my boobs done and I'd had these surgeries done.
- 29:13Speaker 4: And she goes on to tell the story, which is,
- 29:16Speaker 4: I think the story that the account that got her
- 29:19Speaker 4: the restraining order, they did put at the end of
- 29:22Speaker 4: the show that Aaron has denied all allegations of ever
- 29:26Speaker 4: being abusive to anyone in his life, including Denise Richards.
- 29:31Speaker 4: So I want to say that too. Going with that,
- 29:33Speaker 4: she tells the story of how, you know, she just
- 29:37Speaker 4: gotten surgery done, a surgery. So it's like six hours
- 29:42Speaker 4: after having, you know, a 10 hour surgery and she's
- 29:44Speaker 4: on meds and she needed his help to, um, go
- 29:48Speaker 4: to the bathroom. And I guess he took that moment
- 29:50Speaker 4: to look at her phone and he claims that she
- 29:54Speaker 4: was cheating with some guy that she met when she
- 29:57Speaker 4: did special forces. So if that I'm putting it all together,
- 30:01Speaker 4: I'm assuming he saw some type of communication with somebody else.
- 30:05Speaker 4: And then she claims that's when he whacked her in
- 30:08Speaker 4: the head while she was, you know, on painkillers or
- 30:12Speaker 4: covering with like tubes coming out of her body because
- 30:14Speaker 4: she had some fat removed. And, um, so she was
- 30:19Speaker 4: very honest about her plastic surgery and very honest about
- 30:21Speaker 4: this account with the, with the two of them, which
- 30:24Speaker 4: I do think is very interesting about Real Housewives of
- 30:26Speaker 4: Beverly Hills because she, Rachel Zoe is being really honest
- 30:29Speaker 4: about her ex's situation as much as she can. And
- 30:33Speaker 4: it's interesting. And same with Dorit is, is sharing a
- 30:37Speaker 4: lot about what made her marriage end with PK. And
- 30:41Speaker 4: that is being honest. That's being interesting. It's a, it's
- 30:44Speaker 4: a reality show. So it's obviously very disturbing to hear
- 30:48Speaker 4: all that. And then, um, Erica, I mean, yeah, then
- 30:54Speaker 4: Erica says, well, I was there too. And she reveals
- 30:57Speaker 4: that after Tom and her broke up and they were done,
- 31:02Speaker 4: she dated somebody, not the current guy she's dating, who
- 31:06Speaker 4: was also former special forces and military. She dated somebody
- 31:10Speaker 4: else and she said it wasn't serious and it wasn't
- 31:13Speaker 4: like you're my person forever, but they were enjoying each other.
- 31:16Speaker 4: And it got physical. And I really appreciate her honesty
- 31:22Speaker 4: about it. And she said it happened three times. And
- 31:24Speaker 4: on the third time, she was like, that's it. This
- 31:27Speaker 4: is not for me. Um, you are not for me.
- 31:31Speaker 4: People are speculating who it might be based on, you know,
- 31:35Speaker 4: but she really wasn't seen romantically with anybody else. There
- 31:39Speaker 4: was a rumor that she, Armie Hammer was her neighbor
- 31:42Speaker 4: and maybe they dated a little. And there was, you know,
- 31:45Speaker 4: at times in the last season where she's like, Oh babe,
- 31:48Speaker 4: I'm getting some, I think it was some random non-famous
- 31:52Speaker 4: person that she has no, uh, public ties to. That's
- 31:55Speaker 4: my personal opinion. Otherwise, I don't think she would. I
- 31:58Speaker 4: think she's smart enough to not share that story. But anyway,
- 32:03Speaker 4: I really appreciate the honesty. And I think it meant
- 32:06Speaker 4: a lot to the people that watch the show. And
- 32:09Speaker 4: it was very interesting. And we are all rooting for Denise.
- 32:13Speaker 4: And when I ran into Denise, she just said all
- 32:15Speaker 4: the ladies on the show have been so supportive. And remember,
- 32:19Speaker 4: there's that there were scenes where he came off very
- 32:23Speaker 4: verbally aggressive with the women, um, where Erica was like, whoa,
- 32:28Speaker 4: do you really want to talk to me like that?
- 32:29Speaker 4: He's like, do you really want to talk to me
- 32:31Speaker 4: like that? And then another time when they left a
- 32:34Speaker 4: party and Denise and he were holding hands and she says, we're,
- 32:39Speaker 4: we're mic'd, don't say anything. And he's like, don't tell
- 32:41Speaker 4: me what to do. I'm going to fucking squeeze your
- 32:43Speaker 4: hand off or something. And they put that in the show,
- 32:47Speaker 4: you know, three or four years ago. So, It's, um,
- 32:52Speaker 4: you know, it's interesting that that was all like now
- 32:56Speaker 4: come to fruition. It's like all of it was there,
- 32:58Speaker 4: just like everything else, all the evidence is there and
- 33:01Speaker 4: the signs are there and wasn't even hiding it and
- 33:05Speaker 4: happy that, um, both of them are out of those situations.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I thought this was pretty interesting. So, you know, 50 cent,
- 33:11Speaker 4: he is always going after people, you know, from P
- 33:14Speaker 4: Diddy to whomever. I don't know what his beef is with, um,
- 33:19Speaker 4: Tiny and, um, and TI, but he posted a photo of, um, Tiny, um,
- 33:31Speaker 4: in wasn't, I wouldn't be thrilled if it was taken
- 33:34Speaker 4: from that angle. I think head on, she probably would
- 33:37Speaker 4: have been happy with it, but it was just like
- 33:39Speaker 4: an unflattering angle of her on stage and like a
- 33:42Speaker 4: corset and boots and, you know, and, um, and he
- 33:46Speaker 4: just posted it. And then, T.I. and Tiny's son went
- 33:52Speaker 4: off and just was like, you know, a lot of
- 33:56Speaker 4: bad words, a lot of N words, a lot of
- 33:58Speaker 4: F words, two 50 cent. And he's like, how dare
- 34:02Speaker 4: you post an unflattering photo of my mother? And then
- 34:05Speaker 4: he goes, your mom's dead 50. So why don't you
- 34:11Speaker 4: get your mom from the graveyard and show a photo
- 34:13Speaker 4: of her? How dare you do this to my mother?
- 34:16Speaker 4: And for this is coming from neighborhood talk, which is
- 34:19Speaker 4: a popular Instagram account where they kind of follow a
- 34:22Speaker 4: lot of the hip hop world. And a lot of
- 34:24Speaker 4: the comments in there were like, they liked that he
- 34:27Speaker 4: was defending, um, his mom. And I don't know, what
- 34:32Speaker 4: do you think? I, I, it's pretty aggressive video on
- 34:35Speaker 4: his part, but in this case, I do feel like,
- 34:39Speaker 4: you know, 50 started it, but Tiny and TI have
- 34:43Speaker 4: a sword pass to look into that one. And the
- 34:46Speaker 4: things that people have accused them of the girls that
- 34:49Speaker 4: say that, that, you know, it was not consensual threesome
- 34:53Speaker 4: activities or whatnot, allegedly, um, love is blind is on
- 35:00Speaker 4: another season. And this is really taking off, really getting
- 35:05Speaker 4: a lot of people to talk about it. Um, there
- 35:10Speaker 4: is this one guy on there and, uh, you know,
- 35:13Speaker 4: he's a cute guy. I'm not watching it. So I'm
- 35:17Speaker 4: just seeing the clips and I guess he gets with
- 35:20Speaker 4: a very attractive actual doctor, like a real internist. And
- 35:26Speaker 4: he sits there and tells her, um, I don't know,
- 35:31Speaker 4: you know, so the way love is blind, just remind
- 35:33Speaker 4: you works. They meet each other talking through a wall
- 35:38Speaker 4: and then once they decide, yes, I want to marry you,
- 35:40Speaker 4: they come out and then they follow like six to
- 35:43Speaker 4: eight couples all hanging out at like a resort. And
- 35:47Speaker 4: then they go to their respective like condos and they
- 35:50Speaker 4: follow them there and some get married and some don't.
- 35:53Speaker 4: And so in getting to know each other, now they
- 35:55Speaker 4: didn't know what they look like. I, you know, I'm
- 35:57Speaker 4: watching them. They both look attractive, but he says to
- 36:00Speaker 4: the girl who is a full on real doctor, you
- 36:04Speaker 4: know what in real life, meaning like not in a
- 36:07Speaker 4: dating show, I always dated people that were into CrossFit
- 36:12Speaker 4: or did like Pilates every day. So this is like
- 36:16Speaker 4: a lot for me to adjust to like you not
- 36:19Speaker 4: being a Pilates girl every day. And wow, obviously this
- 36:26Speaker 4: has a big reaction from the audience. How could you not?
- 36:31Speaker 4: Like you are, she's a doctor. Okay. And I'm just,
- 36:35Speaker 4: you just see in your head and you know, the girl,
- 36:39Speaker 4: crop top crop, like a little bralette, you know, ponytail,
- 36:43Speaker 4: perfect Pilates body carrying her matcha, definitely not a doctor,
- 36:50Speaker 4: you know, which is great. I'm sure those, those girls
- 36:53Speaker 4: are great too. They're influencers, they're models, they're cute girls.
- 36:57Speaker 4: They have jewelry designs that they're doing with their mom though.
- 37:01Speaker 4: They're all you know, and that's who he was dating. And,
- 37:06Speaker 4: but he clicked with this doctor over the pods and, um,
- 37:11Speaker 4: I don't know what this guy is going to do,
- 37:13Speaker 4: but I'm guessing they don't get married, but I think
- 37:17Speaker 4: there'll probably be some girl who will be very happy
- 37:21Speaker 4: to date him who does Pilates every day. That's what's
- 37:23Speaker 4: going to happen. So I'm watching love story. It's so
- 37:27Speaker 4: good on Hulu. I just, I love it. And, uh,
- 37:31Speaker 4: And of course, it's getting people remembering that time and that, interestingly,
- 37:37Speaker 4: JFK Jr., the seat, the New York Senate seat had
- 37:41Speaker 4: just opened up right before the tragic plane accident. And that,
- 37:48Speaker 4: you know, he was up for it. It was definitely
- 37:51Speaker 4: considering it and people wanted him to. And he was
- 37:53Speaker 4: looking forward to getting into politics because the magazine was
- 37:57Speaker 4: not a success. And... you know, and people look at
- 38:01Speaker 4: their relationship, they're upset. The reason this is so juicy
- 38:04Speaker 4: is because she, as we talked about in the last episode,
- 38:08Speaker 4: the real Carolyn Bessette was not looking to be famous.
- 38:12Speaker 4: She was not a thirst bucket. She had incredible confidence.
- 38:17Speaker 4: And so everyone wonders, what is this fight about that
- 38:21Speaker 4: we're going to see in the upcoming episodes that was
- 38:24Speaker 4: caught by a paparazzi with all these, you know, uh,
- 38:30Speaker 4: photos that were taken and there is more to it.
- 38:36Speaker 4: And I found out what it was and I think
- 38:38Speaker 4: it's so relatable and makes so much sense. So what
- 38:44Speaker 4: I know the fight to be about is it was
- 38:47Speaker 4: not about cheating or another girl. It was, they were
- 38:53Speaker 4: walking and they're walking, um, the dog and they were
- 38:56Speaker 4: just out and somebody that Carolyn knew, was like, Oh, Hey.
- 39:01Speaker 4: And so they were stopped and they were talking and
- 39:05Speaker 4: he went ahead and was annoyed and didn't want to wait. Um,
- 39:09Speaker 4: Don and that really pissed off Carolyn because she's like,
- 39:13Speaker 4: Oh my God, that was rude. And, um, Why would
- 39:16Speaker 4: you do that? And I, you know, you get stopped
- 39:18Speaker 4: all the time. We get stalked by paparazzi. We're always
- 39:21Speaker 4: with your friends. We're always doing your thing. And here,
- 39:24Speaker 4: my friend, a friend of somebody I know, and you
- 39:27Speaker 4: can't be bothered to wait. You're that impatient. Like, no,
- 39:31Speaker 4: F you. And that's where that fight happened. And when
- 39:35Speaker 4: I heard this information, I'm like, that totally tracks. That's
- 39:39Speaker 4: totally relatable. I think that could happen with a lot
- 39:41Speaker 4: of people where you just feel like, Why, why is
- 39:44Speaker 4: it always about you or why, why would you be
- 39:47Speaker 4: rude to my friend? So, um, and then knowing that
- 39:52Speaker 4: she was just always like, I don't give a shit
- 39:54Speaker 4: if you're the Prince of America. Like I, she had
- 39:59Speaker 4: confidence like no other woman. I love that they referenced
- 40:03Speaker 4: the rules in the episode. Um, you know, she's letting
- 40:07Speaker 4: the answering machine pick up his calls instead of picking
- 40:10Speaker 4: up the phone. And she's there with like her gay bestie,
- 40:12Speaker 4: like working on an outfit or something. And the guy's like,
- 40:15Speaker 4: what are you doing? Following the rules. I followed the rules.
- 40:19Speaker 4: I would let the calls go to the answer machine
- 40:22Speaker 4: because of the whole rule thing of the rules, which
- 40:24Speaker 4: was this book was to make a guy think that
- 40:27Speaker 4: you're so busy. You're out doing other things. You're out
- 40:30Speaker 4: with other guys and making them wonder and making yourself
- 40:34Speaker 4: a challenge. And I just feel like if you are
- 40:37Speaker 4: a single person, um, and you're not that well aware
- 40:40Speaker 4: of this story, Watching how Carolyn did like hook this
- 40:46Speaker 4: guy that everybody wanted because she really didn't want him
- 40:49Speaker 4: that badly is very interesting. Now, other reports are saying, no,
- 40:54Speaker 4: you know, she, um, there's a difference of the timeline
- 41:00Speaker 4: in which she was into him. And then he went
- 41:03Speaker 4: back to Daryl Hannah and she was pissed. And then
- 41:06Speaker 4: when he came back to her again, she was weary again.
- 41:10Speaker 4: I think that's it. But then there's other reports that like,
- 41:12Speaker 4: oh no, she, she knew he was going to be
- 41:14Speaker 4: at this event at this Amazon rainforest thing. And she
- 41:18Speaker 4: wanted to get a ticket to go and like run
- 41:21Speaker 4: into him. That could be true too. It was a game.
- 41:24Speaker 4: And the way you won getting a guy like that
- 41:27Speaker 4: was to play a game, do the rules. And most
- 41:30Speaker 4: women wouldn't be able to stick with what the rules
- 41:33Speaker 4: said of really playing hard to get, but she did.
- 41:37Speaker 4: And right until the last moment of their last moments
- 41:41Speaker 4: of their lives, you know, it was again, okay, we're
- 41:46Speaker 4: going to a wedding. It's his family's wedding. We need to,
- 41:51Speaker 4: he wants to fly so we can, you know, and
- 41:54Speaker 4: they left late and he didn't have the instructor there. And,
- 41:59Speaker 4: you know, and then there's conspiracy theories about what happened,
- 42:03Speaker 4: but I think it's clear in everything that it was
- 42:08Speaker 4: literally a it was cloudy and he was flying and
- 42:10Speaker 4: he thought he was going straight. And in fact, he
- 42:12Speaker 4: was going down. That's what the reports were, but we'll
- 42:15Speaker 4: see how they portray that part. I think they're just
- 42:17Speaker 4: really going to focus on the relationship. But, um, and
- 42:20Speaker 4: I also didn't know that Meryl Streep's daughter plays his
- 42:22Speaker 4: sister in the movie in the series. And I think
- 42:26Speaker 4: she is a great, uh, Caroline. I think it's a
- 42:30Speaker 4: really good match and I think she's a good actress
- 42:32Speaker 4: and believable in it. So, um, lots of little, um,
- 42:36Speaker 4: Nepo babies and stuff being cast in this, but I
- 42:40Speaker 4: think they are all doing a good job. You guys
- 42:42Speaker 4: do not forget if you are in the Salt Lake
- 42:44Speaker 4: city area, March 20th and 21st, I'm doing four shows
- 42:48Speaker 4: at the downtown wise guys comedy. You can just go
- 42:52Speaker 4: type in wise guys, wise guy comedy club in Salt
- 42:56Speaker 4: Lake city, get your tickets before they sell out. And
- 43:00Speaker 4: now I'm really excited for you guys to hear this
- 43:02Speaker 4: very interesting interview with a former real housewife. And she
- 43:08Speaker 4: tells all and it's so juicy. So enjoy. Hello and
- 43:13Speaker 4: welcome to Juicy Scoop. I am talking to a real
- 43:16Speaker 4: housewife of Vancouver. I know many of you are talking
- 43:19Speaker 4: about it because the show is available on Peacock. Welcome,
- 43:23Speaker 4: Mary Zilba. How are you?
- 43:25Speaker 2: I am very good. Thank you. Thanks for having me.
- 43:29Speaker 4: So it's really funny because when I, you know, got
- 43:32Speaker 4: in contact with you, I'm like, I did know that
- 43:34Speaker 4: there was a real housewife of Vancouver. And it was
- 43:39Speaker 4: done when I started to watch it in preparation of
- 43:42Speaker 4: this episode. I looked it up. And so it was
- 43:45Speaker 4: you guys filmed in 2013.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Yeah. It was a while ago. And so you and
- 43:53Speaker 4: you only did two seasons. We did. So, yeah. What
- 43:56Speaker 4: tell me a little bit about like how it came
- 43:58Speaker 4: about and why you chose to do it, because I
- 44:00Speaker 4: always think that's the most important, most interesting part of
- 44:03Speaker 4: like how someone's life changes when they make that decision.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Well, you know, when I go back and think about it,
- 44:09Speaker 2: it was one of the original, like it was when
- 44:11Speaker 2: like the housewives of, what's the one down in Orange County.
- 44:16Speaker 2: So it was fairly new, like the whole franchise. So
- 44:19Speaker 2: I didn't really know a lot about it. I was
- 44:21Speaker 2: a singer. I had had records out in Canada. I'm
- 44:23Speaker 2: from Ohio originally, moved to Vancouver. And I had had,
- 44:28Speaker 2: you know, some success in the entertainment business, which was
- 44:32Speaker 2: my goal in life to be in the entertainment business
- 44:35Speaker 2: as a producer, as a writer and as a singer.
- 44:38Speaker 2: And I moved to Vancouver and I get this weird
- 44:42Speaker 2: phone call from somebody who was like, oh, you know,
- 44:45Speaker 2: you are on the short list for a reality show.
- 44:48Speaker 2: And at the time, I had just gotten a divorce
- 44:51Speaker 2: and I have three little boys. And I was like, hmm, OK,
- 44:54Speaker 2: this sounds interesting. What kind of a reality show? And
- 44:58Speaker 2: I didn't know at first until they sent me all
- 45:00Speaker 2: kinds of NDAs and all kinds of like questionnaires. And
- 45:04Speaker 2: I filled them out. And then they basically just said,
- 45:10Speaker 2: it's the Real Housewives franchise.
- 45:12Speaker 4: And I didn't know.
- 45:13Speaker 2: At that point, I kind of thought it was Desperate Housewives.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I thought it was kind of like that show, the
- 45:18Speaker 2: Desperate Housewives. But As I kind of researched it, I thought, oh,
- 45:22Speaker 2: you know what? I'm not going to fight with anyone.
- 45:24Speaker 2: No one's going to fight with me. Like, yeah, I
- 45:27Speaker 2: thought it would be a great stepping stone for me
- 45:30Speaker 2: to do it. So I filled out all the applications.
- 45:32Speaker 2: And then, of course, they called and said, guess what?
- 45:34Speaker 2: You're you're you've been chosen. So I was like, oh, shit,
- 45:37Speaker 2: what have I just gotten myself into? And lo and behold,
- 45:40Speaker 2: I had no idea.
- 45:42Speaker 4: So now that it's so far from from today, can
- 45:46Speaker 4: you tell us like what they paid you? It wasn't
- 45:50Speaker 4: a lot.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I can tell you that. It was not a lot.
- 45:54Speaker 2: It was around 40,000, I think.
- 45:58Speaker 4: And how long were you at their beck and call
- 46:01Speaker 4: to film?
- 46:03Speaker 2: Four to five months.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Wow.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:07Speaker 4: And in like looking at the housewives and stuff before
- 46:10Speaker 4: you got in, what was your, did you have any concerns?
- 46:16Speaker 2: Yeah, because I my main concern was that I wouldn't
- 46:21Speaker 2: be saying anything or doing anything or get myself involved
- 46:24Speaker 2: in something that would embarrass my children. They all went
- 46:27Speaker 2: to Catholic school. They were young boys. I was a
- 46:30Speaker 2: single mom, you know, so I was like, I don't
- 46:34Speaker 2: want anything to jeopardize them and to and to make
- 46:39Speaker 2: me I would, you know, basically, as a mother, as
- 46:41Speaker 2: you know, you're You are your kid's role model, your biggest, greatest,
- 46:46Speaker 2: their greatest role model. And so I didn't want to
- 46:48Speaker 2: ever get myself involved in something that was going to
- 46:52Speaker 2: embarrass them and make them feel ashamed of me. So
- 46:55Speaker 2: that was my main concern going in. And I also thought,
- 46:59Speaker 2: why would women fight? Like, I didn't fight with my friends.
- 47:02Speaker 2: I had no idea, like, what I was getting myself into.
- 47:05Speaker 4: And did the producers say, like, before you went into
- 47:09Speaker 4: a birthday party scene or whatever... would they try to
- 47:13Speaker 4: entice you to get in some kind of argument for
- 47:17Speaker 4: entertainment purposes? Never.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Never. I never had anyone come up to me, any producer,
- 47:24Speaker 2: any director, say, you should do this, you should say this.
- 47:28Speaker 2: It's one of the biggest questions I always get is,
- 47:32Speaker 2: is it scripted? And a lot of people believe it is. Now,
- 47:35Speaker 2: you know, that was years ago. Now I don't know
- 47:38Speaker 2: exactly how things work. It's a, it's a pretty well-known
- 47:40Speaker 2: franchise now. And I think women kind of set their
- 47:43Speaker 2: characters up or, you know, I don't think it's not scripted,
- 47:47Speaker 2: like we're actors, but, you know, it, I never had
- 47:51Speaker 2: anyone tell me what to say or try to entice
- 47:54Speaker 2: me to say something that wasn't, you know, true. And,
- 47:57Speaker 2: I know now that it's airing again on Peacock, the
- 48:00Speaker 2: drama has started. All of a sudden, I'm hearing from
- 48:03Speaker 2: the housewives again that I didn't speak to for 10 years.
- 48:05Speaker 2: And it's pretty freaking crazy, I have to say.
- 48:07Speaker 4: And what are they saying to you? Like, can you share?
- 48:11Speaker 2: Well, they're all saying, oh, it was scripted. Oh, production
- 48:15Speaker 2: did this to me. I really was a good friend
- 48:18Speaker 2: to you. And threatening emails and texts and stuff about
- 48:22Speaker 2: if you say this, if you don't defend me, those
- 48:25Speaker 2: kinds of things.
- 48:25Speaker 4: And even now, like they're saying now. And are you
- 48:30Speaker 4: getting a lot of are you getting a lot of
- 48:32Speaker 4: fans like finding your Instagram and asking you questions about it?
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yes, quite a bit. I have to say, it's funny
- 48:40Speaker 2: how the resurgence just sort of came back. But I
- 48:42Speaker 2: think it's because I mean, first of all, I was
- 48:45Speaker 2: shocked that it was coming back. I was I just
- 48:48Speaker 2: get a phone call in November. I got a phone
- 48:50Speaker 2: call and they were like, oh, guess what? Real Housewives
- 48:53Speaker 2: is coming to Peacock in the United States. Well, I'm
- 48:55Speaker 2: from the U.S. My entire family, extended family, everybody's from Ohio.
- 48:59Speaker 2: And I lived in L.A. for a long time. And
- 49:01Speaker 2: I now am in Palm Springs. So I live basically
- 49:04Speaker 2: in Palm Springs in Vancouver. So I was like, oh no, what's,
- 49:08Speaker 2: what is going to happen? But I wasn't afraid of
- 49:11Speaker 2: it because I felt I was authentic to myself. I didn't,
- 49:15Speaker 2: I was proud of the way that I was able
- 49:17Speaker 2: to handle myself on the show. And, um, would I
- 49:20Speaker 2: wish now that I maybe would have said more or,
- 49:24Speaker 2: you know, been a little bit more bold in some
- 49:28Speaker 2: of the things I said, probably. But, you know, it
- 49:33Speaker 2: was shocking to hear after all these years, it's going
- 49:35Speaker 2: to be replayed again. It's like, You know, my father
- 49:37Speaker 2: said to me, well, you know what? It's kind of cool.
- 49:40Speaker 2: You're just debuting 20 or 10 years younger. Good point, Dad. Yeah.
- 49:46Speaker 4: So you did two seasons of it. And did your
- 49:49Speaker 4: did they pay you more for the second season? Was
- 49:52Speaker 4: it a hit in Vancouver that like the first season?
- 49:54Speaker 4: Was it a big deal?
- 49:56Speaker 2: The first season was the I think to this day,
- 50:00Speaker 2: the most watched show in Canadian television history ever.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Wow.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So it was unbelievably popular. And so even now
- 50:11Speaker 2: when I go into Canada, I mean, like anywhere I go,
- 50:14Speaker 2: I'm stopped there quite often. I loved you on the show. Oh,
- 50:18Speaker 2: my gosh. And sometimes I forget because it's been a while.
- 50:21Speaker 2: But yeah, the flavor for people wanting it to come
- 50:26Speaker 2: back is massive. And they do want a season three.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Do you get a lot? We'll get to that in
- 50:33Speaker 4: a minute. Do you get a lot of people like
- 50:35Speaker 4: you're just walking through a restaurant and someone's looking at
- 50:37Speaker 4: you and they're like, how do I know you?
- 50:39Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I get that a lot.
- 50:42Speaker 4: I always I get that, too, because I'm like at
- 50:44Speaker 4: that level where like I pop up in someone's feed
- 50:47Speaker 4: and they kind of remember me from a TV show
- 50:49Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 50:50Speaker 6: And.
- 50:51Speaker 4: And it's always like so weird because then I have
- 50:54Speaker 4: to be like. Well, I'm a comedian. No, that's not it. Oh, well,
- 50:59Speaker 4: I don't know. Did we go to high school together? No,
- 51:01Speaker 4: we didn't go to high school. Like now it's like
- 51:03Speaker 4: an awkward thing. But most people, I just say I'm
- 51:05Speaker 4: a comedian. They go, OK, yeah, that must be it.
- 51:08Speaker 4: You know, whatever. So what do you say? Do you
- 51:10Speaker 4: say I was on The Real Housewives of Vancouver?
- 51:12Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes I go, oh, I was a singer. I'm
- 51:15Speaker 2: a singer. Maybe you saw one of my music videos.
- 51:19Speaker 2: I usually start with that one and I go, no, no.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, you probably saw me on that damn
- 51:24Speaker 2: reality show. And they're like, that's it. You were on
- 51:27Speaker 2: The Real Housewives. But even here now, I'm getting recognized
- 51:32Speaker 2: where I didn't as much. I do in the UK.
- 51:36Speaker 2: I have in Australia. I'm not in Australia. Our show
- 51:39Speaker 2: is in Australia. I haven't been to Australia. But in
- 51:40Speaker 2: the UK, when I was there, I was recognized a lot.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 2: But here now, I was at Ulta the other day,
- 51:49Speaker 2: like literally on the ground looking at something on the
- 51:51Speaker 2: floor nearly. And some woman kept walking back and forth,
- 51:54Speaker 2: back and forth. And finally, I was like, OK, am
- 51:57Speaker 2: I doing something wrong or is she stalking me? She
- 51:59Speaker 2: was like, oh, my God, I just binged the entire
- 52:03Speaker 2: show on Peacock. And what are you doing in Palm Springs?
- 52:06Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, my gosh. So she didn't
- 52:08Speaker 2: expect to see me because she thought I was in Vancouver.
- 52:12Speaker 4: But I'm still in the first season. But for the
- 52:16Speaker 4: people that haven't seen it, which will probably be, you know,
- 52:19Speaker 4: a good amount and then they'll go check it out.
- 52:21Speaker 4: But like what what was the juiciest thing that happened
- 52:26Speaker 4: in The Real Housewives of Vancouver that's that people would
- 52:28Speaker 4: remember or reference or still can't believe happened?
- 52:32Speaker 2: Well, I think the thing that most people say is
- 52:35Speaker 2: how dark it was. I mean, a lot of them
- 52:37Speaker 2: are dark, a lot of the franchises. But apparently from
- 52:41Speaker 2: I don't watch many of them. I don't watch them
- 52:43Speaker 2: hardly at all. But I've heard it's the darkest franchise
- 52:48Speaker 2: of all of them. And that's because of the bullying
- 52:50Speaker 2: that went on. And, you know, I think that's the
- 52:56Speaker 2: thing that shocks people the most, because Canadians are nice.
- 52:59Speaker 2: They're supposed to be nice.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:02Speaker 2: But hey, I mean.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I'm good friend's a girl in my, a woman in
- 53:08Speaker 4: my neighborhood, she and her husband are Canadian and they
- 53:10Speaker 4: really are so polite and so much nicer than everybody else,
- 53:13Speaker 4: you know? And we'll be playing pickleball and they'll always
- 53:17Speaker 4: be like, you know, no, my ball was out. And
- 53:19Speaker 4: then they say out the way Canadians say it. Out
- 53:22Speaker 4: and about, yeah. Out and about. They always are honest
- 53:24Speaker 4: about their pickleball game. And then I'll play with one
- 53:28Speaker 4: of them and I'll be like, remember, you're American. We're
- 53:30Speaker 4: going to beat these fuckers. Like, no mercy. You can
- 53:34Speaker 4: be Canadian when you're against me, but when you're playing
- 53:37Speaker 4: next to me, you're an American, you know? Exactly. So that,
- 53:42Speaker 4: that is interesting. Who, like, who was the, who was
- 53:45Speaker 4: being bullied?
- 53:47Speaker 2: Well, I was the main focal point of the.
- 53:50Speaker 4: I was the target. I was the target.
- 53:54Speaker 2: And, you know, it's really interesting. So there were it's
- 53:59Speaker 2: it's sad to watch in some regards. Like I had
- 54:01Speaker 2: when it first came on, I had it on the
- 54:03Speaker 2: television for me. I hadn't seen it in years and
- 54:05Speaker 2: years and years. And who wants to watch it?
- 54:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:07Speaker 2: It's just it's it's hard to watch. And I was like, oh,
- 54:10Speaker 2: my God, I can't believe like, why would I why
- 54:14Speaker 2: would she say that to me? Even to this day,
- 54:16Speaker 2: I'm in shock. So Jodi was the main villain of
- 54:19Speaker 2: our show.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:23Speaker 4: And she was horrible. I never knew.
- 54:25Speaker 2: I still don't know to this day why she disliked
- 54:27Speaker 2: me so much. I don't know if it was because
- 54:29Speaker 2: I had already had a career and I had already
- 54:32Speaker 2: had a lot going on in Canada. I had seven
- 54:35Speaker 2: top 40 hits. I did music videos, which is probably
- 54:38Speaker 2: the reason they asked me to be on it. And
- 54:42Speaker 2: I think she was, I don't know what it was.
- 54:44Speaker 2: She just, she thought I was too nice. And I
- 54:47Speaker 2: think a lot of the cast was like, we got
- 54:50Speaker 2: to bring her down. She can't be that nice. Um,
- 54:54Speaker 2: so I think that's really why, because I never said
- 54:57Speaker 2: or did anything for them to want to victimize me
- 55:02Speaker 2: at any point. So, and then the other woman was Ronnie, who, um,
- 55:07Speaker 2: was my friend before the show. We had been friends
- 55:11Speaker 2: for many years and, um, I actually suggested her to
- 55:14Speaker 2: get on the show and really fought for her to,
- 55:16Speaker 2: to be a part of the show. And they, and
- 55:17Speaker 2: they casted her on, on it. And then she turned
- 55:20Speaker 2: on me. So, um, It was interesting. So it's been
- 55:25Speaker 2: kind of a, it was really an awakening as to like,
- 55:30Speaker 2: why do people act this way? And why would grown
- 55:33Speaker 2: women treat each other the way that they did?
- 55:36Speaker 4: Do you think that they were fans of the franchise
- 55:42Speaker 4: and kind of realized that's the way to get the
- 55:45Speaker 4: most airtime and get the most talked about? Like, if
- 55:47Speaker 4: I'm going to go do this, I want to get
- 55:50Speaker 4: something out of it, fame that could lead to something else?
- 55:53Speaker 4: Why do you think that they were so different on camera?
- 55:57Speaker 2: Gosh, I don't know. I don't think that Ronnie had
- 56:00Speaker 2: ever seen it before. I don't know that she had.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Maybe she had done a deep dive, done a rabbit
- 56:06Speaker 2: hole and did watch it. Maybe Jodi. But here's the thing.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Why does somebody want to? They all have children. They all,
- 56:14Speaker 2: you know, to me, it was like, do you not
- 56:16Speaker 2: want to preserve Do you want to just go and
- 56:19Speaker 2: do something that is not authentic to you just for
- 56:22Speaker 2: a television show? Is that because you've got to live
- 56:24Speaker 2: your real life? You're not an actor. You know, so
- 56:27Speaker 2: she has been, you know, Jodi in particular has been
- 56:31Speaker 2: just brutalized by fans, absolutely brutalized. And she and she's
- 56:39Speaker 2: had a lot of bad things that have happened since
- 56:41Speaker 2: the show.
- 56:42Speaker 4: And like what?
- 56:44Speaker 2: Well, I mean, she lost her business. She lost custody
- 56:47Speaker 2: of her young daughter.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 56:50Speaker 2: Yeah, she had a lot of stuff that happened.
- 56:54Speaker 4: Do you think all those things would have happened had
- 56:57Speaker 4: she not been on the show or the show didn't help?
- 57:02Speaker 2: I don't know if they would have happened or not.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Probably she would have still had that problem with her
- 57:06Speaker 2: husband and her daughter. But yeah, and then her other daughter,
- 57:09Speaker 2: then her older daughter who was on the show, who
- 57:11Speaker 2: was just horrible. She was, you know, the apple didn't
- 57:15Speaker 2: fall far from the tree. They gave the daughter a
- 57:17Speaker 2: lot of time, a lot of airtime. And she ended
- 57:20Speaker 2: up getting shot and her husband.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Shot by gun? Yeah.
- 57:25Speaker 2: And shot in the shoulder because she.
- 57:27Speaker 4: In Canada? Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:30Speaker 4: It was horrible. By whom? Who shot her?
- 57:33Speaker 2: Somebody that her, her boyfriend that she was with at
- 57:36Speaker 2: the time, she had a baby with him. I guess
- 57:39Speaker 2: somebody was after him. Accidentally shot her and then eventually
- 57:42Speaker 2: he did pass away.
- 57:43Speaker 4: How did he die?
- 57:45Speaker 2: I can't remember how he died. I'm not sure how
- 57:51Speaker 2: he died.
- 57:51Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 57:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:53Speaker 2: So, I mean, there's a lot of tragedy. Not that
- 57:55Speaker 2: I think anybody and even your darkest enemy should never.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:58Speaker 2: You know, I don't wish that upon anyone. But it's
- 58:01Speaker 2: just interesting how even now that it's airing again, she's
- 58:05Speaker 2: still on her social media page. saying that it was
- 58:09Speaker 2: scripted and production did it and, you know, just anything
- 58:12Speaker 2: to make herself, to redeem herself. And, you know, I'm
- 58:18Speaker 2: not going to, I just tell the truth. Like, but
- 58:21Speaker 2: the truth is the truth. What came out of your
- 58:22Speaker 2: mouth came out of your mouth. Nobody told you to
- 58:24Speaker 2: say what you said or do the things that you did.
- 58:27Speaker 4: So when it premiered and it was starting to air
- 58:32Speaker 4: and stuff between the first and the second season, What
- 58:36Speaker 4: was the reaction? Were you having a good time with
- 58:40Speaker 4: the newfound fame? Was it stressing you out?
- 58:43Speaker 2: You know, that's an interesting question because the fans to
- 58:46Speaker 2: me were lovely. I had, you know, so many fans,
- 58:51Speaker 2: people who, you know, I made so many good friends.
- 58:55Speaker 2: So many wonderful people came up to me and said,
- 58:58Speaker 2: I just love you on the show. And, you know,
- 59:00Speaker 2: thank you for being the voice of reason and for
- 59:03Speaker 2: having some grace and, That was really that was really
- 59:06Speaker 2: nice because it's nice when you, when you remain who
- 59:09Speaker 2: you are and be authentic to who you are. And
- 59:12Speaker 2: then people recognize that rather than being somebody you're not and,
- 59:16Speaker 2: and doing things like that would be out of character
- 59:19Speaker 2: for you. So I, it was wonderful. I had already had,
- 59:22Speaker 2: you know, a little taste of that. I was, you know,
- 59:24Speaker 2: throughout my life, I had been in Miss America. I had, um,
- 59:28Speaker 2: done a lot of really interesting things that I had
- 59:31Speaker 2: been in the spotlight before. But it was just nice
- 59:34Speaker 2: to know that even though I was having PTSD from
- 59:39Speaker 2: being on the show and the women themselves were so,
- 59:42Speaker 2: I mean, I didn't speak to any of them for years.
- 59:47Speaker 2: It was absolutely, I had PTSD from that show and
- 59:50Speaker 2: I didn't really want to do season two, but our
- 59:53Speaker 2: contract was stated that they, you had the right, you
- 59:57Speaker 2: didn't have the right to quit. They had the right.
- 59:59Speaker 4: You know what, that, it's interesting because in all the
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: housewives that I've interviewed, I think only one told me that, that,
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: you know, so when people say, oh, I, you know,
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: I'm not coming back and, you know, they act like
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: it was their decision. Yeah, yeah. I have heard that, no,
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: it's not your decision. You're signing a contract that you
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: agree to do it. Does it expand a number of
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: years or is it infinite? I mean, it's got to,
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: there's got to be a couple, you know, it's got
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: to stop somewhere. It's not a billion year like Scientology contract, huh?
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I think it was 10 years. I think it was
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: 10 years.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: And so, yeah, they always have the option to pick
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: you up. But I mean, essentially, you can get out
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: of something. I mean, if you just were like mentally,
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: I can't do it. They're not going to put a
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: gun to your head, you know.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: You shouldn't do probably any other kind of TV for
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: 10 years then.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: No, they had you under, you know, there were strict guidelines.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: You couldn't write a book. You couldn't go and do
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: a telltale, tell all that kind of stuff either. But,
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: you know, in the long run, I think when I
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: look back in retrospect, I think it did. It was
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a really good experience for me again, only because not
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: during it, not when we were filming it, but more
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: so because of the things that I was able to
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: do with that platform.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: And, you know, Housewives fans are forever fans. It's kind
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: of interesting because my boyfriend is an actor and he's
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: done like Weeds and a lot of really great shows.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: And he's like, wow, why is it that, you know,
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: I've done all these shows and movies or series and
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: people don't come up to me, but you did this
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: ridiculous show and everybody's like, oh, hi, can I get
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: your autograph? Hi, can I take a picture? And he's like,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: it's crazy. And I would say because it's a cult.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Housewives is a cult.
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: It's that and it's also you are yourself. Yeah. And
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: so you're being yourself. We've seen your home. We've seen
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: your kids. We feel like we know you because you
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: were yourself. Also, an actor who plays numerous roles, I
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: think as a fan, you're kind of taught, like, not
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: to go up to those people and not to disrupt
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: their dinner.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: But, you know, hey, it's just a reality star and
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: she's being herself. Yeah. You know, and I think when
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: a reality star does rebuff a fan... it's unacceptable because
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: it's like, you're not Julia Roberts, you know? So it's like,
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: you better be nice. Yeah, exactly. And not that Julia
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Roberts would be rude, but at the same time, like,
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: I just feel like people, you know, she, they're playing
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: different roles. And so their privacy is their privacy. And
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: by you exposing your life, you know, I see the
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: cute boys in one of the episodes and their friends
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: come over and When it came out and then you
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: were going to do the second season, did they like
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: being on camera? Did they resent it? Like, what was
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: their point of view out.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Of it all? My youngest son didn't like it at all.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: How old was he at the time?
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: He was eight or nine. Nine, I think. He was nine.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: He didn't like it at all. And he didn't like the.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: That our home had become like a movie set or
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: like a TV set, right? He didn't like the intrusion.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: The older two, they were okay with it. But again,
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: they didn't like, they didn't want me to be hurt.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: And that was kind of what happened in the house.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Like sometimes I'd go out filming and I'd come back
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: and I'd be just devastated when we were out, you know,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: doing the show. And I'd come back just exhausted and
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: totally like, traumatized basically by some of the way that
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: I was treated from the women. And, you know, somehow
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: when you're a mom, a single mom, it's very hard
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: to keep that completely tucked away. So they didn't want
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: me to be hurt. So I think second season, none
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: of them, I don't believe they were on second season
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: and none of them watched it. And second season was
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: worse than first season. So you have saved yourself.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: I'll keep watching. I'm going to keep watching. I just started.
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: I think with boys, you know, there was a time
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: when I was kind of doing like a pilot reality
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: show pilot for my own show and they were going
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: to be featured because it was about my life and
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: it didn't go anywhere. And years later, my son confessed
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: that he was like, if that show was going to go,
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: I just wasn't going to participate. And I'm like, Like,
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: he didn't tell me then, but he hated it. He
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: didn't like it. He didn't like how they would make
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: them redo stuff. He didn't like all the cameras. He
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: didn't like how long things took. And, you know, I
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: think people have to think about that, like, you know,
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: in putting their kids out there because you're basically making
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: them work. And it's like TV is the only industry
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: that allows for child labor laws not to be enforced.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: I mean, you couldn't make them work in a factory.
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: You couldn't make them work at a car wash, but
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: like you can put a mic on them or whether
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: it's social media or whatever, and they just have to
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: do it, you know? So it's like- I think that's
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: really interesting. I think oftentimes, just in general, young girls
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: of housewives will like it, will want to do it
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: because it's like a girly thing, you know, and you're
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: with your mom. And the boys are just like, not
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: as thirsty, not into it. Yeah.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Now, my middle son is a musician. He lives in Nashville.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: And during season one, I think it was, or season two,
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I recorded a song and put it out and it
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: was really great. It went number one in the UK.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: And charted in Canada. And it was about him because
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: he had had a seizure disorder as a child and
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: had a lot of issues growing up with it. And
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: so I wrote a song called Hero and it came
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: out and he played guitar on it. And now he's
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Cut to 10 years later, he's now, or over 10 years,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: he's now in Nashville as a singer-songwriter playing every night.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: And so it's kind of cool to see that I
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: have that all, that treasure from Housewives where they recorded
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: him and me singing in the music video and all that.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: So that was nice. And he was into it because
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: he's a musician and artist. So he was like, okay,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: this is cool. Maybe this will help my career in
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: the long run.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: I always remember Kris Jenner said that early on in
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: the Kardashians. they were a family that, you know, was
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: always taking photos and had little, whatever the latest video
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: camcorder was. So when the show came, she was like,
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: oh my God, of course I want to do it.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: You know, how, how amazing to have, you know, beautiful
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: edited memories. You know, this is before she knew it
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: would go on for 20 years, but like, if anything else,
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: how great, like I have this. And I do think it's,
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: it's must be so funny when I, and when I
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: talked to the other housewives, like I was with Jill
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Zarin of Real Housewives of New York, and I've known
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: her daughter since she was 13. And a couple of
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: years ago, the first time they started to put all
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: of them on Peacock, this is probably like five years ago.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: or so, that's when we, I was at her house
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: and we started to watch it from the very beginning.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: And Allie, her daughter was like 14. And to watch
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: it with them, they hadn't seen it in years. And
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: we were just dying. We were laughing. We were like,
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: like Allie was like, her mom, like, mom, look at
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: what you said to me. You sent me to a
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: fat camp. Like what the hell? And of course she's
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: beautiful and they're fine and they're still best friends. But
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: like to look back and like laugh at it, it's, Yeah,
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: it's just that part of it I think is really fun.
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: You know, providing everybody is fine today, it's really fun
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: to actually go back and watch that.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: We did a little bit of that over Christmas. I
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: had all my kids down here in the desert because
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: it was airing here and no one had seen it
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: for 10 years at least. So we did put on
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: a couple of episodes and they were like, oh, oh,
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: you know, laughing. We couldn't even get through like 10
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: minutes of it before.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: It was just like.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Mom, why didn't you punch her? Yeah, well, I should
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: have in retrospect. Yeah, well, I said you guys would
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: have been upset if I punched her. No, we wouldn't have.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: You should have punched her.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: So you said there's now talk of coming back. So
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: have you heard from the producers saying like, hey, would
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: you be interested? And would it take place in Vancouver?
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Because you said you now live in Palm Springs. Well,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I'm kind of back and forth. So I'm still spending
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: some like when it's really hot here. like super hot
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: in the summertime. I'm not, I don't stay here.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: So I go back to Vancouver um, or I go
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: back to Ohio to see my dad, but no, I'm
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: pretty much part time. But, uh, yeah, they have reached out. Um,
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: and this was about maybe five months ago and they
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: had asked if, um, if I was interested in coming
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: back and that they were trying to get a season
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: three and they were trying to work it with the network. And, um,
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: I basically said I didn't know and it depended on
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: the cast. And so they they they're still working on
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: it from what I understand. And they weren't expecting the
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: peacock launch or ad. So I think that also might
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: have incentivized incentive. What's that word I'm trying to say?
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: Incentivize. Incentivize.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Incentivize them to do it, I mean, to keep going
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: because now it's getting some U.S. exposure, which it didn't before,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: which was so weird when my whole family's here and
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: all of a sudden they're watching it. I'm like, guys, oh,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: my God, it was so long ago.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: And because it was called Real Housewives of Vancouver, do
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: you ever know why Bravo didn't pick it up back
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: in 2013?
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: No.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: I don't know if at that point they were just
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: wanting U.S. franchises. It wasn't that they were airing only U.S.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: franchises in the United States at that time. And then
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: they started adding some other ones. But it was a
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Bravo contract that we signed. So it was they bought
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: the rights from Bravo to air it or to produce it.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: You know, I'm just remembering that in 2014... I went,
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: my husband and I went to like some Canadian like
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: wellness hotel, something that had like all these treatments that
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: you could get and chirogenics and all that kind of stuff. Wow.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: And they said, oh, we had the Real Housewives of
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Vancouver here.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Oh, were you at like the Crystal?
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: Yes, Crystal.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Crystal Place?
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were all there.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: That is true. That is true.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: We were all there. Can you remember if that was
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: season one or two? I definitely want to keep watching.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: I think it was season one.
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: Okay. I don't think I've gotten to it yet. And
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: that's so funny. And I know, yeah, I have a
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: house in La Quinta as well. So yeah, there's so
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: many people that are Canadian that live there. for half
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: the year and then go back to Canada.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: You have to let me know when you're out here.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: We should go for a cocktail.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Wait, I'm going to be there this weekend.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Are you here this weekend?
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Yeah, and we're going to go to, we're going to
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: go out in Palm Springs.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm actually in Rancho Mirage. I always
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: say Palm Springs because nobody knows Rancho Mirage. I'm actually
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: in Rancho Mirage.
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: Okay, well, we're going to be out this Friday and
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: Saturday with my girlfriends. Oh, please let me know. Yeah,
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: we're going to go. I know we're going to go
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: to dinner. We're going to Bar Issy. No, Bar Cecil
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: or Bar Issy. Down there in the Thompson.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: The Thompson Hotel.
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: And then I don't know. But no, I'll get your number.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: I'll have your number from the email. Okay, perfect. And
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: then maybe we'll go out because it'd be fun to
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: see you in person.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Or whatever. Or the next time.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: What?
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: What?
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Sure, why not? Who cares? This is part of the show. Okay, yes. Okay,
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: so we're going to do a little ending. We can
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: cut out that meeting together. Should I just give my
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: number out for everyone? Yeah. Okay, so we're going to
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: wait to see if it comes back. I know you
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: have a podcast. Can you tell us a little bit
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: about your podcast?
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: I do. This is my second podcast. I took a
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: hiatus around.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: COVID and I just came back to the Mary Zilba
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: podcast and I really interview people who interest me. Like
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: it's kind of a hodgepodge of everything. Like I've got
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: coroners on there. I've had many doctors. I'm very interested
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: in medicine and medicine wellness and things like that. And, um,
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: I've had on reality people. I just recently had on
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: somebody from, um, who was an NDE, a Harvard doctor
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: who had an NDE, a near death experience. And, um,
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: that was, we haven't aired that one yet. Um, but yeah,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: just really fascinating people. I just find, you know, I
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: find interviewing people to be fascinating. I always have, that
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: was my degree in television broadcasting and journalism. And I just, um,
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: find people that I just think other people would find
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: fascinating as well and just love hearing their stories.
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: So if it was to come back and go straight
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: to Peacock or Bravo and Peacock, Would you, what do
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: you think about BravoCon? Is that something, I mean, now
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: the world is so different as far as the opportunities
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: that come from being on a show like this, as
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: far as brand deals and the exposure that those opportunities
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: just didn't exist when you did it 12 years ago.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Does that excite you?
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's exciting. I mean, to be able to,
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: you know, anything that you can utilize as a platform
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: for yourself and to do things that maybe, you wouldn't
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: normally be able to do or to be able to
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: help people. And, you know, that's one of the things
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: that I've always known that I've always wanted to do
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: is to be able to be involved in charitable work
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: as well, in which my whole life I've done. So
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: over the course of me being on The Housewives, I've
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: raised probably over $ 3 million for charity. And just having
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: a platform is an amazing thing. And I also am
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: really interested in helping women in many ways of finding
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: their confidence and their place after, The nest is empty
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: and trying to figure all of that out and who
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: we are after that, because I'm going through that now.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: So I'd love to talk more about that subject on
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: my podcast as well. And aging parents that are the
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: sandwich generation of trying to figure out who you are
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: while you're still worried about your kids and you're still
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: worried about your parents and you're still and you're just like,
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: who am I? So, yeah. So I love that idea
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: of being able to. if BravoCon would be something... I mean, again, though,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: BravoCon is very.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: It's all about the show, isn't it? I mean, really.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a whole other aspect that's gotten... kind of
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: made the people... Some people think it's sort of ruined
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: the women on these shows because it put them at
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: this rock star level because the fans are just like...
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: treat them like the Rolling Stones or something. And before...
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: It's true. It's like when I was really into The
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: Real Housewives of OC and stuff, they were very humble.
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: They were like, oh, wow, you watch and oh, you know, oh,
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: my God, I can't believe that you're like into it.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: And this is so exciting for us to go to
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: dinner with you or whatever, because not they weren't because
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: there wasn't social media. They just didn't have that kind
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: of stuff going on. Even if they were doing commercials
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: and stuff, it was still like. once the cameras were down,
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: they went back to their normal life and everyone in
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: their neighborhood, like ignored them or whatever. And I don't
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: think it's really like that anymore.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: No. And I think that's one of the fans. And
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: one of the things I heard with our show coming
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: back is a lot of the fans like the OG, right?
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: They like the original shows because of that factor, what
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: you just talked about, where they don't seem as maybe
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: put on as, you know, they're not a season. We
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: weren't as seasoned. So I think a lot of them
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: are not.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: Going to watch that. I'm sure you did your own
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: hair and makeup. I mean, now every time the cameras come,
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: they have the glam, which you have to pay for yourself.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: You have to pay for your glam yourself, at least
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: they do. And, you know, and you probably know that
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: too from when you did it, if you're going to
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: host a party or whatever. Yeah. They didn't pay for that, right? No,
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: they did.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: They paid for parties.
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: Oh, they did?
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, for the most part, they did. But it was,
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: you know, the makeup bar, they did have some makeup artists,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: but it was more for the confessionals only.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: Right. That's what I heard.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's only for that. But everything else, you bought
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: your own clothes. You did, you know, there was no, yeah,
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: no bells and whistles, really. Right.
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Well, I'm excited to continue to watch it and have
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: everybody watch it and get in touch and hang out
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: with you out in the desert. So tell everybody what
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: your Instagram is so they can follow you. Okay.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: It's at Mary Zilba. Everything is just at Mary Zilba.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: Nothing fancy. And then on YouTube, it's the Mary Zilba podcast.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: And yeah, I would love to anybody who wants to
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: come listen to some interesting guests. I have plenty of
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: them on the podcast.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Well, that's awesome. Thank you so much. It was so
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: nice talking to you.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: Everybody, check out the two seasons. And also it's kind
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: of nostalgic because it is like 12 years old. So
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: it's kind of fun to watch as it escape. Real
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: Housewives of Vancouver on Peacock.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you, Heather. Thank you.
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: One reward. Endless choice. Skip the hassle. Reward the easy way.
