Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: She got a text, actually a Venmo request that said, I want a refund from the date because you weren't exactly what I was expecting you to be.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Perhaps it was false advertising.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Perhaps he was just shallow and was like, Well, didn't really like the connection, so I want money back.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: I'm for that.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: If there's something that is a blatant lie, if you lied to me in our dating app exchange, then yeah, uh the then don't waste my time because I'm coming here being truthful to you.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: I wish that we knew whether or not he felt that it was a lie or or not.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I don't know that part of it, which is the only area that I'm getting stuck on.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Like, well, that's shallow.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: It seems like he felt like he was lied to.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Uh uh Yeah.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: 5610 says OMG.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: I'm over online dating BS.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Uh they they lie, and that's all in caps.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: They lie.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: A few uh uh a few guys I've chatted with, no car, like what?
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: No buy.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: There's another one.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the no car.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if you don't have a car, then you're gonna pay me the money back when if I paid for our bill.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you lived in New York City, I could see you not having a car.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: My brother hasn't had a car in 20 years, but he also lives in DC.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: That's those are two cities that you frankly don't need a car.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Hey, are you gonna pick me up on your bicycle for a date?
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the twin tiers.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: You're gonna need a car.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Saying that there.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Okay, then this one I want to come over here.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: This is from 2617.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, no shame.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And I hope this doesn't make me shallow, but teeth, because you have this exact thing, teeth are a big deal for me.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: So when I'm looking at photos, you know, on dating apps, uh, I zoom in.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Wow, I zoom in on their teeth to make sure that they're real, they're clean, and they have them.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you something, 2617.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I was so stupid for not even looking when I was in this situation because I didn't, I I didn't even notice that he wasn't smiling in the pictures.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Because a lot of guys aren't super smiley.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: So he just had like that half smirk smile.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: And and that's where I went back and go, oh my God, he's not even smiling in any pictures.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: No wonder.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Well, don't don't feel bad about that because, like I said, there are situ everybody has their limits.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And and that's okay.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: You you know, if you have your this is the bar that I have set, and I am gonna do that, that's okay.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: You know, and and actually your guy was well, your guy.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Uh the guy that you were talking to, we won't call him as your guy.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Um, he's blaming that.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: He was decent enough before you guys even got together.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, i I understand took him a while to get there.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna open a conversation?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Hi, it's nice to meet you.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I have no teeth.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: No, you're not.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: He wanted to see if we had any kind of chemistry at first.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: And and and thank you that he honestly was uh a forward and uh front with that.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: But that's why I'm saying if you lie, then give me my money back.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all right.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: If it's a direct lie, Adam, I'm feeling for you.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Listen to this.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: He has been dragging weeds for the past five days.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know what that means, but unless you're hauling them from point A to point B.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Probably.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: It says my arms are like jello.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: And do you know it's taking me two days to physically get past the exhaustion from those trees?
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Especially if you're not used to it.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Think how you usually feel at the beginning of just springtime when you're doing all your yard work.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: You go at all winter to get fluffy.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: You go and do it and you do it for days and go, what was I thinking?
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, why did I do that?
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Back to the weight thing.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Listen to this.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: This is a real story that I came across yesterday, and it says it's an unusual on uh an unusual family inheritance dispute that's gaining attention over gained weight.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So after a 21 California, 21-year-old, excuse me, California woman claimed her parents imposed strict weight requirements on the money she and her sister would eventually receive from their living trust.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: It was the woman said the trust requires that one sister to remain at least below 140 pounds or maintain a body mass index between 18.5 and 24.9 for five consecutive years for her to get the money.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: The other sister has a 150 pound limit in order for her to get her money.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: 140 and 150 pounds are it's nothing.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Like to make maintain that is insane to me because what also happens if she has a baby or has a health condition, yeah, or anything like that.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Also, just like uh if I get to 160, I don't get my parents' inheritance.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm gonna play devil's advocate with one thing.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Were the parents very concerned?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe we don't know this part.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: You know, um parents certain parents, and I think it's it's smart to do this, but just not fixating on the weight part of it.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Maybe they wanted their daughters to live healthier and make sure.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Perhaps, you know how you see somebody, and and and this is not a dick.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So don't take it that way, anybody.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: You know how you see somebody, maybe through high school, they were um, you know, that little fire plug design.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: You know, they were they were just, you know, a firm little thing.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: And then the, you know, they, as time goes on, shall we say, get fluffier.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Like it's their body design.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And sometimes you gotta work at that.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Not everybody does.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe the parents were like, we want you to stay healthy and we want you to stay, you know, in a certain category.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know their body types.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: That's the problem.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Like I don't either.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: If somebody would have done that to you and said, Ellie, you're gonna have to be 140 pounds to get your parents' parents' inheritance, you'll be like I'm 6'3.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Like, how does that happen?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I came out of the womb 140 pounds.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen 140 pounds uh, I think since second grade.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, with different body types.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I'm wondering if the parents it sounds terribly shallow, but I'm wondering if the parents had a bigger concern underlying than we're aware of here.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Uh and and that might have been But that's that's a weight that's so low.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: I just don't know.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: But we don't know how tall they are.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe they're you know, are they five seven?
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: You'd be surprised.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Because especially if I told you my weight, I think you'd be like, oh, I didn't expect you to be that weight.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Like I just think that especially guys don't have a good gauge of women's weight.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: No, no, I don't think they do.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, but what I'm getting at specific with this is I'm wondering if they were attempting to aim them in, you know, a healthy direction.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: That's just what I'm wondering.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: If they were on my 600-pound life, then maybe I could be a little bit more understanding because you want your kid to live and live a healthy life and to take the money and spend it wisely throughout the year.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Or to enjoy it.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: But if you're on my 600-pound life, you're gonna croak in like three years.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: That's true, too.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: So that I understand.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: 140, 150 pounds.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Now normally I'm the insensitive one.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: You're gonna croak in three years.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: But 130 and 100, or I'm sorry, 140, 150, that's such a low weight, by the way.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Well, and I'm wondering if the 150 was like the taller sister or something.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know what their bodies are.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Five, four?
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Uh that by the way, this is one thing I just read.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: The trust provides no exception for pregnancy or medical conditions that could cause weight changes.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: So it sounds like the parents were even trying to be like, and don't get knocked up either.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: It sounds like they are so shallow that they want their kids to be little twigs their whole life.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, it sounds that way, but without knowing their actual body type or their history, I don't know the total answer.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Still, women are women, and what if I want to be a little curvier?
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Then I it should be my choice.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Now it's not my choice, or I'm not gonna get a little bit of a child.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Well, no, no, it's your choice, but you just won't get the money.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Which super sucks.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: My parents are still controlling me when they're dead.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, you did that your whole life.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Uh do you not think Gail has a provision somewhere that she's going to haunt you in that future when she crosses the Great Beyond?
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: I'm sure she will, but I don't think she would ever say, Oh, but you need to stay under 200.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: No, I don't think she would.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't think in that case she would.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: It's causing so much unhealthy uh anxiety.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: It could at least I would think so.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: It it absolutely could, yes.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: And I can understand that point, and I can understand where that could be bad.
