Former Clerk Gets 6 Years for Store Shooting | Kansas City News
A former liquor store clerk, Mark Delano Shelton, 58, just received a six-year prison sentence for shooting and killing 29-year-old Dustin Niehouse inside Cloud9 Liquor in Kansas City, North, in November 2022. Shelton pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter — down from second-degree murder — admitting he fired the shot just after midnight. He’d already spent over three years in jail awaiting trial, earning credit for that time. Arrested in June 2023 after indictment, the case concluded with Judge Timothy J.
