- 1:57Speaker 4: our good friend Rusty Webb, how you doing, my.
- 1:59Speaker 6: Friend fantastic, my brother, my cousin from another County.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yes, yes, you and Meadows. You know Boone County guys.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we're a mortal enemy.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I knew that.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. Yeah, he's a Boone Kenny guy, of
- 2:13Speaker 4: course from Beautiful And if he's listening, he'll if I
- 2:16Speaker 4: get this rung, he's from Beautiful. Downtown Sylvester, all right,
- 2:20Speaker 4: that's a suburb of Whitesville. And I was in the
- 2:24Speaker 4: Home County this past weekend, went down to La. Had
- 2:26Speaker 4: to pick up a watch for my buddy Scott. Down
- 2:29Speaker 4: its cheap plug for my buddy Scott at Saxe Jewelers
- 2:32Speaker 4: and Logan And so I went down to pick up
- 2:35Speaker 4: a watch. I was having repaired new restaurant. I'm gon
- 2:38Speaker 4: give him a little plug here. There's a new restaurant
- 2:39Speaker 4: on Main Street in Logan, rested. You would love it.
- 2:41Speaker 4: It's called the nineteen ten.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 4: And the reason that I say that you would love
- 2:46Speaker 4: it not because you were born in nineteen ten, Because
- 2:48Speaker 4: you were not. However, the building, the building is the
- 2:53Speaker 4: old Power Company, old Appalachia Power Company building in Logan,
- 2:56Speaker 4: right across from mccormicks. I know, you know exactly where
- 2:58Speaker 4: it is.
- 3:00Speaker 6: The last department store in West Virginia.
- 3:02Speaker 4: It's may very well be yeah, yeah, and uh and
- 3:05Speaker 4: so but Rafia, doctor Rafael Rodigero and his wife Joanna,
- 3:10Speaker 4: I have opened up this place down there, and it
- 3:12Speaker 4: is awesome. I mean they've sunk a whole lot of
- 3:15Speaker 4: money into that building. So I'm gonna give him little
- 3:17Speaker 4: cheap plug. That happened down in my home county where
- 3:20Speaker 4: I resided for many many years. Uh stop, see him
- 3:25Speaker 4: down there. Great burgers. And you may remember this, and
- 3:28Speaker 4: I promise I'll get to what what I want you
- 3:31Speaker 4: to talk about today, all right, you know I'll also
- 3:34Speaker 4: say this. You may be old enough to remember in
- 3:36Speaker 4: Logan years ago, there was a drive in called Pennies
- 3:38Speaker 4: Drive in all right, on what we call the Holden
- 3:42Speaker 4: Road I'm hunting road. I'm sorry, okay. So Joanna is
- 3:47Speaker 4: the grand daughter of the owner of that place, and
- 3:51Speaker 4: they brought back a burger. It was called the Big Penny,
- 3:54Speaker 4: which is a burger with bacon, but it's got a
- 3:56Speaker 4: special sauce on it. And so she has brought it back.
- 3:59Speaker 4: So and so Penny's clothed like in the eighties, I think.
- 4:02Speaker 3: But I was what what was the restaurant?
- 4:03Speaker 6: I was a West logan like up up the up
- 4:06Speaker 6: the gun dot Uh is that that's not West logan,
- 4:09Speaker 6: It just be East slogan, I guess. But anyway, there's
- 4:13Speaker 6: still a uh restaurant up there. I ate about a
- 4:19Speaker 6: month ago.
- 4:19Speaker 4: What did you have there?
- 4:20Speaker 6: It was a Hamburger place. It was an old school
- 4:22Speaker 6: Hamburger joint with Morrison Yeah, Morrisons, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Listen when I go, when I go anywhere, I eat
- 4:31Speaker 6: local in West Virginia. I mean that's just mine. I
- 4:34Speaker 6: mean you can eat fat, you can eat franchise food anywhere,
- 4:37Speaker 6: but you can't eat and if you don't, they're going
- 4:39Speaker 6: to go away right then go away exactly right.
- 4:42Speaker 4: And I get, you know when I see people. And
- 4:45Speaker 4: we had this intane valley all the time where people
- 4:47Speaker 4: will say, well we need There was an announcement that
- 4:50Speaker 4: be to b W three is going to be opened
- 4:51Speaker 4: up like a place up there, and and it automatically
- 4:54Speaker 4: starts on social media. We need this and we need it.
- 4:57Speaker 4: It's always some changes like how about we support the
- 4:59Speaker 4: local place says we.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Have bat patties every time I come through from Honting
- 5:02Speaker 6: to stop.
- 5:03Speaker 4: A great restaurants. All right, so we're not gonna talk
- 5:05Speaker 4: about food.
- 5:06Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:07Speaker 6: Now I'm down to uhtes you.
- 5:09Speaker 4: We'll take some of Danny's styn.
- 5:11Speaker 3: We have to take Danny's tyne, all right.
- 5:12Speaker 4: So Thunder the Mountains is back.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Yeah, and I need to wear a T shirt that
- 5:16Speaker 6: says it's free because I never tell people. I just
- 5:19Speaker 6: assume that since it's an open place, there no fences
- 5:23Speaker 6: that everybody knows. But it's free. It's free, it's free.
- 5:26Speaker 3: It's free. Sixth year.
- 5:34Speaker 6: It's a singles tournament now, just like it was last year,
- 5:36Speaker 6: but we went indoors. We've doubled the numbers. So you're
- 5:40Speaker 6: gonna you're gonna see the best high school and college
- 5:44Speaker 6: players in West Virginia. And the reason I say that
- 5:46Speaker 6: is wv U Marshall and you see will all be there,
- 5:51Speaker 6: six of you seeze players. Six are going to another tournament.
- 5:54Speaker 6: I think they're sitting in their best six here and
- 5:59Speaker 6: you see is a very good Division two team. But
- 6:02Speaker 6: what's really cool is all of the countries that are represented. Okay,
- 6:07Speaker 6: so Sweden, Czech Republic, Ukraine, France, Morgantown, Guadalupe, Morgantown, Italy,
- 6:18Speaker 6: North Carolina.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Where a friend of Morgantown as a foreign country.
- 6:21Speaker 6: UK, South Point, Ohio, and Charleston, West Virginia.
- 6:28Speaker 4: How did you get all these people?
- 6:30Speaker 6: I mean they're all students at at at the universities.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Okay, okay, yeah, all right.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I had that.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Really, I had the number one player, Meredith Baldwin, coming
- 6:41Speaker 6: down from Wheeling Park, and she just canceled. She's just
- 6:44Speaker 6: gotten too busy and doing a lot of traveling. But
- 6:47Speaker 6: she's the number one player in West Virginia girls singles.
- 6:51Speaker 6: But I have this young lady from Herbert Hoover Crystal Emball.
- 6:57Speaker 6: She is her ranking is half of the person above her.
- 7:02Speaker 6: She's the very bottom. So she's basically going it's gonna
- 7:05Speaker 6: be David versus Goliath. I mean in a literal sense, like,
- 7:09Speaker 6: but I love her tenacity, willing to play, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 6: willing to take on a really good college player. And
- 7:17Speaker 6: see we have a back draw, so you get you
- 7:19Speaker 6: get to play twice no matter what. And then when
- 7:22Speaker 6: courts open up, coaches will play players against each other
- 7:25Speaker 6: because the whole idea is to get represent in the fall.
- 7:28Speaker 6: But let me say, let me continue and continue to continue.
- 7:31Speaker 6: Dax Miller. I had a meeting with him two weeks
- 7:33Speaker 6: ago the park director here in Charleston, and I said, man,
- 7:38Speaker 6: those those tennis those tennis nets are they've seen their
- 7:41Speaker 6: better days. I drive by yesterday brand new nets, and
- 7:47Speaker 6: I just get got to give props to Dax Miller
- 7:51Speaker 6: and the city of Charleston. And Amy has always been good,
- 7:54Speaker 6: good to this tournament.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:57Speaker 6: She gives me the center, the whole place from Thursday
- 8:00Speaker 6: to Sunday. She gives me cash, she gives me your staff.
- 8:04Speaker 6: I mean, it's just it's a very good partnership. But
- 8:07Speaker 6: then I have a windfall this year which allows me
- 8:10Speaker 6: to pay seventy two hundred dollars in cash.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Last year I.
- 8:13Speaker 6: Had like twenty five hundred, and Governor Justice gave me
- 8:19Speaker 6: a grant right right there at the end. Yeah, he
- 8:23Speaker 6: gave me ten thousand dollars grand. So that's where all
- 8:25Speaker 6: the cash is covered.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Okay, well that's good stuff. Now explain explain the whole
- 8:30Speaker 4: concept of this troup because you said, as how many
- 8:31Speaker 4: years you've been doing this?
- 8:32Speaker 6: But you say six years?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Six years?
- 8:33Speaker 6: Okay, So this was this was starty Mindy White at
- 8:37Speaker 6: CTC thought it'd be a good idea to have a
- 8:40Speaker 6: fall thing with WVU, Marshall and some other some other
- 8:44Speaker 6: tennis teams. So in two nineteen there were like six
- 8:48Speaker 6: six teams Marshall, WVU and four other teams.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I don't remember the names.
- 8:54Speaker 6: So then I thought, well, let's make this an event,
- 8:57Speaker 6: because nobody knew about it, like I just stumbled on
- 9:00Speaker 6: to it, like you know, I was going down there
- 9:01Speaker 6: to play one day, I was like, why are these
- 9:03Speaker 6: people here?
- 9:05Speaker 3: So we kind of started making an event. You know,
- 9:07Speaker 3: it's we have a stage.
- 9:08Speaker 6: We played music, and then we kept with that format
- 9:12Speaker 6: until last year and the coaches W Marshall, who are
- 9:15Speaker 6: the you know, the pillars of the tournament, said, you know,
- 9:18Speaker 6: we just we need to get some good singles play
- 9:20Speaker 6: in for our players. I said, well, let's let's go singles.
- 9:24Speaker 6: Let's just make it a singles wide open everybody, anybody.
- 9:28Speaker 6: And then I was able to get some cash. So
- 9:30Speaker 6: you know, with the nil you can pay them cash
- 9:32Speaker 6: now except high school, right, yeah, you can't pay high schoolirls.
- 9:37Speaker 6: So then I raised the money and now this year
- 9:39Speaker 6: I have seventy two dollars to do it, and I
- 9:42Speaker 6: hope to keep raising more money that of course, the
- 9:45Speaker 6: more money you raise, the more players you get, the
- 9:48Speaker 6: higher caliber you get. But I'm doing something else this year.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Jimmy John's, Subway, Pepperoni Grill, Chick fil A. I've always
- 9:58Speaker 6: reached out to them and said, hey, can you provide
- 10:00Speaker 6: lunch this year because I got this really good windfall.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I'm buying from them.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Well, you know, every it's like every four years, take
- 10:09Speaker 6: care of your sponsors, pay them, pay them.
- 10:10Speaker 3: So I'm doing that, and you know it feels good.
- 10:13Speaker 6: You're like, hey, I'm not asking you, I'm giving you.
- 10:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Yeah, And I'm still and there. Their sponsors will still
- 10:19Speaker 6: be on, you know, on the on the courts. You know,
- 10:22Speaker 6: they're still good. I've got to go do that today.
- 10:24Speaker 6: But yeah, and but the only thing I want to
- 10:27Speaker 6: get out there is we have some the players will
- 10:31Speaker 6: know tennis players will know what I'm talking about. We
- 10:33Speaker 6: have some four or five players here in Charleston, and
- 10:36Speaker 6: I would and they would, they would compete well, and
- 10:39Speaker 6: I wish they would sign up. We have some we
- 10:41Speaker 6: have about six or seven on an actually four or
- 10:44Speaker 6: five U s T A team that I would love
- 10:46Speaker 6: to see sign up. And I'd love to see more
- 10:48Speaker 6: high school players get in it. Because when I lost Meredith. Uh,
- 10:51Speaker 6: Crystal is the only high school player I have now.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Julie Orcott would have played, but she's visiting her sister
- 10:57Speaker 6: at wake Forest this week, so I know Julia would
- 11:00Speaker 6: have She would have loved have taken them on. She
- 11:02Speaker 6: she'll take on anybody.
- 11:03Speaker 4: But all right, So so the call is on? And when?
- 11:07Speaker 6: Oh it's uh Friday, It's Friday, Friday, Friday morning, Saturday,
- 11:11Speaker 6: all day it's at the tennis courts at showing bomb
- 11:14Speaker 6: over Keno City.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Okay, so what is the deadline? Because you said you listen,
- 11:18Speaker 4: listen twenty minutes a half.
- 11:20Speaker 6: Really, if you if you're a high score four or
- 11:22Speaker 6: five player out here and you want to in late,
- 11:24Speaker 6: you know, get a hold of me on Thursday. But really,
- 11:29Speaker 6: I don't know what the I don't we're using the
- 11:31Speaker 6: UTR website. I don't even know what our deadline is.
- 11:34Speaker 4: But you know, yeah, I'll turn them away.
- 11:37Speaker 6: I mean, I'll get you in if you want to play,
- 11:39Speaker 6: and I want some high school There's two great players
- 11:42Speaker 6: at Huntington and I'm looking I'm looking at what last
- 11:46Speaker 6: year's quarter and semi finals in the state tournament, and
- 11:50Speaker 6: I'm seeing all these names. I'm not going to name
- 11:55Speaker 6: them out once from Shady Springs, Trinity, Lincoln Wood Wood County,
- 12:00Speaker 6: Christian Chapmanville Logan Senior H. Logan has always had Austin
- 12:07Speaker 6: Cathleic Williamson.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Logan has always had a good tennis program. My buddy
- 12:11Speaker 4: Justin Turner was the coach down there for years. He
- 12:13Speaker 4: actually played collegiately at UC and he was, he was,
- 12:16Speaker 4: He's a coach.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Down Huntington High University High Huntington High, Washington, Washington High School.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That must be g W Well, there is no there
- 12:26Speaker 3: is a Washington.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Pandle.
- 12:29Speaker 6: That's uh Julia, Uh Hurricane g W Wheeling Park. That's Bradshaw.
- 12:39Speaker 6: That's Madeline Bradshaw. She came in second last year.
- 12:43Speaker 8: Uh.
- 12:43Speaker 6: And I think the winner went graduated.
- 12:45Speaker 4: And the thing about it is, even if you don't
- 12:47Speaker 4: play tennis, you just like to watch it. I mean,
- 12:48Speaker 4: I love because you're not going to You're not going
- 12:51Speaker 4: to see this quality you play. You only see this
- 12:53Speaker 4: quality of players once a year. And that's that. And
- 12:56Speaker 4: that's this thing.
- 12:56Speaker 6: This is it, I mean, this is it. And as
- 12:58Speaker 6: you know, I'm a huge tennis fan.
- 13:00Speaker 3: You follow me.
- 13:01Speaker 6: I go to tournaments around the country around the world.
- 13:04Speaker 6: And I'm a huge women's tennis fan. I just love
- 13:07Speaker 6: the game. Love love, love, love love, or I wouldn't
- 13:09Speaker 6: be doing this. So yeah, I appreciate all the props,
- 13:13Speaker 6: appreciate Where can people find it. It's it's on the

- 15:23Speaker 10: It's good to know that in a world full of

- 16:38Speaker 4: Good morning, sir. Sorry you had to follow Rusty Web.
- 16:41Speaker 11: Yeah, that's tough. Good morning to you. Thanks for having me.
- 16:44Speaker 11: Rusty's a tough one to follow.
- 16:47Speaker 2: He was.
- 16:48Speaker 4: He was in here on one day last week, Thursday
- 16:50Speaker 4: or Friday, and I had told him that you were
- 16:54Speaker 4: gonna be on the show. He's told me that you
- 16:55Speaker 4: guys kind of go back aways.
- 16:56Speaker 11: Oh yeah, yeah, I've known Rusty for a long time,
- 16:59Speaker 11: the great guy. Uh, always a pleasure to see him.
- 17:02Speaker 11: I hadn't seen him in a while and saw him
- 17:03Speaker 11: outside a minute ago, and uh, it was it was
- 17:06Speaker 11: good to see him. He's he's a great, great guy
- 17:08Speaker 11: and always a good guest. I like listening to him,
- 17:10Speaker 11: and he's on your show.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Well, we have donuts in the green room because tomorrow
- 17:14Speaker 4: is my birthday and yesterday was Chris Lawrence's birthday. So
- 17:18Speaker 4: I'm sure the fact Rushy probably helped himself to like
- 17:21Speaker 4: a box of donuts.
- 17:21Speaker 11: Yeah, I think he doesn't look like he's been eating
- 17:24Speaker 11: a lot of donuts. He looks like he's lost a.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Lot of weight.
- 17:26Speaker 4: He plays tennis offitie.
- 17:27Speaker 11: Well that's true. Yeah, but well, happy birthday. I told
- 17:30Speaker 11: Chris happy, happy bladed birthday, and uh, happy birthday to you.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Well, thank you appreciate that, all right? So who is
- 17:36Speaker 4: who is Phil Surface?
- 17:37Speaker 11: Well, I'm an orthopedic surgeon practice at w Health Thomas.
- 17:44Speaker 11: Most of my work is at the Orthopedic Hospital at
- 17:46Speaker 11: Saint Francis. I have an office in Winfield. I was
- 17:50Speaker 11: born in Princeton. I grew up in Princeton, graduated from
- 17:53Speaker 11: Princeton High School, and went the Concord and went to
- 17:57Speaker 11: the Ousti Pathic School in Louisbourg, and then off to
- 18:00Speaker 11: Oklahoma State to become an orth peak surgeon and then
- 18:03Speaker 11: move back to West Virginia. And I've been practicing here
- 18:06Speaker 11: ever since since ninety nine.
- 18:09Speaker 4: And you're a Republican running out of district for talk
- 18:12Speaker 4: about the district.
- 18:13Speaker 11: Well, the district includes the southern part of Putnam County
- 18:17Speaker 11: south of the River and including Jackson County and Mason County.
- 18:23Speaker 11: It's a it's a district that encompasses a lot of
- 18:28Speaker 11: rural small towns, but we've got Winfield and Hurricane in
- 18:32Speaker 11: the district, and it's it's a pretty broad district. A
- 18:38Speaker 11: lot of a lot of issues I think are common
- 18:41Speaker 11: though between the more rural areas.
- 18:43Speaker 4: And they what are some of those issues.
- 18:45Speaker 11: Well, I think the biggest issue to me is infrastructure,
- 18:49Speaker 11: the roads in particular, job creation, healthcare access, those sorts
- 18:56Speaker 11: of things I think are common issues throughout the throughout
- 18:59Speaker 11: the distric. I think the roads in particular are disappointing
- 19:03Speaker 11: to me because they have to drive on them every day.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So with all these things though that you talked about,
- 19:10Speaker 4: your medical background, so on and so forth, why would
- 19:12Speaker 4: you want to run for Senate?
- 19:14Speaker 11: Well, the reason why I'm running is I think that
- 19:16Speaker 11: the Senate has sort of lost their way over the
- 19:19Speaker 11: past couple of sessions. In particular, I think they've taken
- 19:24Speaker 11: their eye off the ball. I think that the important
- 19:27Speaker 11: issues have been neglected, and those are the ones that
- 19:30Speaker 11: I mentioned a minute ago. I think they've spent more
- 19:33Speaker 11: time arguing about things that are less important to the
- 19:37Speaker 11: people in my district. I think they've lost their focus
- 19:41Speaker 11: on what really matters, and I think the things that
- 19:43Speaker 11: matter particularly to the people in the district are infrastructure,
- 19:48Speaker 11: economic development, jobs, retention of our young people, access to healthcare.
- 19:55Speaker 11: Several health care issues are important to them, and I
- 19:58Speaker 11: think they've spent an inordinate amount of time focusing on
- 20:04Speaker 11: and quite frankly, arguing continuously about social issues that that
- 20:10Speaker 11: I understand, and I understand those those issues are important
- 20:14Speaker 11: as well, but I think that they should be lower
- 20:16Speaker 11: on the priority and and that's why I'm running talking
- 20:19Speaker 11: to doctor Phillip Service again, who is the republic is
- 20:23Speaker 11: one of the candidates for District four State Senate. The
- 20:27Speaker 11: Dave Island showing five vidyline brown to you in part
- 20:29Speaker 11: by Bridge Valley Community Technical College. Insurance agents are in

- 20:44Speaker 11: out Bridge Valley dot edu for the tails Bridge Valley
- 20:46Speaker 11: Community Technical College. Your career starts here, so what's your
- 20:50Speaker 11: campaign style going to be? Like, I know it's a
- 20:51Speaker 11: little bit early right now, you're going to go door
- 20:53Speaker 11: to door You're doing. What's the campaign style? Well, I
- 20:56Speaker 11: am going to do some door to door work, and uh,
- 21:00Speaker 11: I'd like to go to uh several of the events
- 21:05Speaker 11: throughout the district and and get to meet people and
- 21:08Speaker 11: and know them. I think, Uh, it's important to me
- 21:12Speaker 11: to be hands on, if you will. I think one
- 21:15Speaker 11: of the one of the disappointments UH.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Has been that.
- 21:21Speaker 11: In the legislature and the Senate in West Virginia, I
- 21:24Speaker 11: think that they haven't been as responsive to the public
- 21:28Speaker 11: and their needs and and and the issues that are
- 21:31Speaker 11: important to them. So I'd like to get out and
- 21:32Speaker 11: talk to a lot of people. I appreciate doing shows
- 21:36Speaker 11: like this where I can get get the message out,
- 21:39Speaker 11: but I'm going to do a good bit of door
- 21:41Speaker 11: to door work.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Yes, if there uh, And I know that generally speaking,
- 21:45Speaker 4: there are some like meet the candidate type for them.
- 21:48Speaker 4: You all up for that or a debate or something
- 21:50Speaker 4: like that.
- 21:51Speaker 11: Yeah, I'd be up for that.
- 21:52Speaker 4: So counting yourself uh. In the current holder of the sea,
- 21:56Speaker 4: which is Senator Eric tar Uh, there are elites. There's
- 22:00Speaker 4: another person running as of now and still kind of
- 22:02Speaker 4: it's so relatively early, you know. But so why all
- 22:05Speaker 4: the interests in the sea, Because here's and I brought
- 22:07Speaker 4: this up because there was a time that before the
- 22:10Speaker 4: Republican takeover that we were hard pressed, even in an
- 22:14Speaker 4: area you're based in Putnam County, we were hard pressed
- 22:18Speaker 4: to be able to get Republicans. Right now everybody is.
- 22:21Speaker 11: Running right well, I think, you know, I think the
- 22:25Speaker 11: interest is there because of things like I've been to
- 22:30Speaker 11: Haiti for five mission trips, and when I drive four
- 22:36Speaker 11: or five miles in any direction from my house, and
- 22:38Speaker 11: I live right in Winfield, and I can go in
- 22:41Speaker 11: any direction and four or five miles down the road,
- 22:44Speaker 11: the roads are similar to what I drove on when
- 22:47Speaker 11: I was in Haiti. I know that sounds that sounds wild,
- 22:50Speaker 11: but it's the truth. And so I think people have
- 22:55Speaker 11: There's been a bunch of interests that have has been
- 22:57Speaker 11: driven by the fact that our representatives and our senators
- 23:03Speaker 11: has not concentrated on the things that are important to
- 23:07Speaker 11: the people in the district. And I think that that
- 23:09Speaker 11: is what's drawing the interest in. It's certainly what has
- 23:11Speaker 11: drawn mine and I think that those sorts of issues
- 23:16Speaker 11: and the job creation and economic development, healthcare, all of
- 23:21Speaker 11: those things. I think people are noticing that those are
- 23:26Speaker 11: lower on the list of priorities than they should be.
- 23:30Speaker 11: And I think that there's several people that are interested
- 23:33Speaker 11: in running because of those things, and that's certainly what
- 23:36Speaker 11: drove me into the race. I believe that that we
- 23:39Speaker 11: need to focus on those things that matter, and those
- 23:44Speaker 11: issues are important to people, and I think the people
- 23:48Speaker 11: in the district know that, and I think that's what's
- 23:51Speaker 11: driving the interest.
- 23:52Speaker 4: You have a website or Facebook or anything.
- 23:54Speaker 11: Yes, sir, it's Phillip's surface for Senate is the website,
- 23:59Speaker 11: and there's links there to Twitter and Facebook. We have
- 24:02Speaker 11: Facebook account, and I would love for people to go there.
- 24:06Speaker 11: Gives pretty good information my background, a little bit about
- 24:09Speaker 11: me and the issues that are important to me, and
- 24:12Speaker 11: I'd love to see people go to that website and
- 24:15Speaker 11: learn more, contact me, reach out to me. There's an
- 24:18Speaker 11: email there. I'd like to hear from the people in
- 24:20Speaker 11: the district and the things that are important to them
- 24:22Speaker 11: and like the opportunity to be their senator.
- 24:26Speaker 4: I mean the final thirty seconds here, Phil, watch this Mooddy,
- 24:29Speaker 4: vote for you for state Center.
- 24:31Speaker 11: Well, I think people should vote for me because I
- 24:34Speaker 11: have a long history in this area of taking care
- 24:38Speaker 11: of a lot of people. I've interacted with people and
- 24:41Speaker 11: have been able to show compassion and care for the
- 24:45Speaker 11: issues that matter to them. When I'm in your green
- 24:48Speaker 11: room this morning, I ran in just in a matter
- 24:50Speaker 11: of ten minutes, ran into three people that are patients
- 24:52Speaker 11: of mind, that have been patient's mind in the past.
- 24:55Speaker 11: And I think that I have a long history of
- 25:00Speaker 11: of caring for people and showing an interest in their
- 25:03Speaker 11: needs and trying to be someone that they can rely on.
- 25:06Speaker 11: I think I'm dependable. I think I've been in the
- 25:10Speaker 11: state for a long time. I've committed to this state
- 25:13Speaker 11: and I think the issues that we mentioned earlier are
- 25:18Speaker 11: things that I can address. I think I have good
- 25:20Speaker 11: ideas and how we could improve our infrastructure. I think
- 25:26Speaker 11: roads in particular. I have some good ideas that need
- 25:29Speaker 11: to be implemented. And I believe that I would be
- 25:32Speaker 11: a good senator and I could represent the people in
- 25:34Speaker 11: the district. And I think that's why they ought to
- 25:36Speaker 11: vote for me.
- 25:37Speaker 4: All Right, Well, what's to the best of Like? All right,
- 25:39Speaker 4: doctor Phil Service again. He is a Republican running in
- 25:43Speaker 4: the fourth Senatorial district. I appreciate you being here. Thanks
- 25:46Speaker 4: a lot.
- 25:47Speaker 11: All right, thank you, David.

- 28:32Speaker 4: that See Danny Jones, you're running days over.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna run for office. I'm for philled. Okay,

- 28:48Speaker 3: good man.
- 28:49Speaker 4: So first one, want to start with a restaurant. How's
- 28:52Speaker 4: a restaurant doing.
- 28:53Speaker 3: It's okay, it's it's it's you know, it's hard, it's
- 28:59Speaker 3: it's uh, but it's it's doing well. And and we're
- 29:10Speaker 3: gonna starting today, we're gonna go two for one on
- 29:15Speaker 3: the barbecue. Okay, another one. In other words, if you
- 29:18Speaker 3: get if you if you come in, you get two
- 29:22Speaker 3: barbecues you pay for one. Nice Yeah, so that's a
- 29:28Speaker 3: pretty good deal.
- 29:29Speaker 4: It's a it's a great deal. And that's and I mean,
- 29:32Speaker 4: you know, the ribs are great and everything else you
- 29:34Speaker 4: have there. But you know, I'm a big fan of
- 29:37Speaker 4: barbecue sandwich is that's that's my favorite.
- 29:39Speaker 3: That's what.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all good, but that's I was. I was
- 29:43Speaker 4: a big fan of that. And the soup was when
- 29:45Speaker 4: you we didn't have every day, but you had the
- 29:46Speaker 4: soup and it was pretty good.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Something I'm gonna do this soup like it's colder, yeah,
- 29:51Speaker 3: to do the soup. Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 4: And chili yeah, yeah, yeah, I completely forgot about your chili.
- 29:56Speaker 4: And somebody brought it up to me the other day.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Down was that something you had every day?
- 29:59Speaker 3: Was the chili? Or did you know? I mean I
- 30:01Speaker 3: have chili every day, but.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Okay, I didn't, I wouldn't. Yeah, I always thought you're chili,
- 30:06Speaker 4: you know?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Was?
- 30:07Speaker 3: I like? It was really good? That's very good.
- 30:09Speaker 4: It's good stuff. So what's the latest on the book?
- 30:13Speaker 4: You and Joe Manchin?
- 30:15Speaker 3: You know, he was on. I watched him the other
- 30:19Speaker 3: night on on Bill Maher Bill Maher, and.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I haven't seen it yet. I recorded it, but I
- 30:26Speaker 4: haven't seen it yet. I'll probably watch it tonight.
- 30:29Speaker 3: He says it was hard to write the book, no
- 30:32Speaker 3: to to do the show.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Okay, see, now, somebody told me a good friend of
- 30:36Speaker 4: mine told me that he didn't think that Joe did
- 30:39Speaker 4: that good of a job on the Bill mart And
- 30:41Speaker 4: I don't know what he based it on because I
- 30:42Speaker 4: haven't seen it, but he he said he just didn't.
- 30:45Speaker 4: He said he didn't, he didn't do that well on
- 30:47Speaker 4: the show. But I don't. I haven't seen it yet.
- 30:49Speaker 3: So well he did, Okay, I mean Bill's not Bill's
- 30:56Speaker 3: not I mean Joe, Joe's not Blue Okay, Yeah, I
- 31:01Speaker 3: mean I'm blue. Yeah, you know, yes, I'm blue. He's
- 31:06Speaker 3: not blue.
- 31:06Speaker 4: And for those that are wondering what blue means, that
- 31:09Speaker 4: was a term that they used to vulgar. Yeah, I
- 31:14Speaker 4: was going to say adult.
- 31:15Speaker 3: I wasn't gonna say yeah, I mean that could be.
- 31:19Speaker 3: I mean Bill Maher is definitely blue. Yes, yes, yes,
- 31:24Speaker 3: he is definitely vulgar. And and Joe's just not that way, right,
- 31:32Speaker 3: Everybody's different. And I thought he did fine.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll have to go back and the while. Probably
- 31:37Speaker 4: I'll try to watch that tonight. So have you seen
- 31:41Speaker 4: any of their Have you read any of Joe's book?
- 31:43Speaker 4: I thought you might have like an advance I have.
- 31:47Speaker 13: I have.
- 31:49Speaker 3: The copy on audio. Okay. I listened to books. I
- 31:53Speaker 3: don't read them. I listened to them.
- 31:56Speaker 4: And you're going to do on your book, you are
- 31:58Speaker 4: going to do an audio version.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I don't know. It depends on Charlie, okay, And it
- 32:04Speaker 3: depends on other people. I'd like to do other people
- 32:10Speaker 3: see if other people will participate, Like if Charlie or participate.
- 32:15Speaker 3: I know I'll participate, but there's a lot of people
- 32:19Speaker 3: that would have to participate because there's a lot of
- 32:22Speaker 3: different voices. Yeah, and I mean, I know readA can't participate.
- 32:28Speaker 4: But what's the latest on the date? On the release date?
- 32:32Speaker 3: Probably towards towards the end of October.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what you were telling me last week. I
- 32:43Speaker 4: didn't know if it had changed.
- 32:45Speaker 3: No, I don't think it's changed. I think it's around
- 32:48Speaker 3: the end of October.
- 32:49Speaker 4: So what is going to be when people get a
- 32:53Speaker 4: copy of your book? What's going to be the one
- 32:56Speaker 4: thing that's going to stick out or maybe surprise them
- 32:59Speaker 4: that they're not expected.
- 33:03Speaker 3: My relationship with my mother.
- 33:06Speaker 4: See I'm I know because you've told me the relationship
- 33:08Speaker 4: with the animal. It was very complex. That's a good
- 33:12Speaker 4: way to put it. Tense, tense, very strained.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Competitive, Okay, a competitive. I don't know how quite to
- 33:27Speaker 3: say that.
- 33:28Speaker 4: How much time do you spend talking about your mom.
- 33:30Speaker 3: In the book? Off and on? Okay, off and on.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I mean, obviously your parents, you know, are a very
- 33:37Speaker 4: important part of what they should be have been important
- 33:39Speaker 4: part of everybody's life in a good way and sometimes
- 33:42Speaker 4: in a not so good way.
- 33:44Speaker 3: My mother was a hell fellow, well met. She was
- 33:51Speaker 3: a person that people liked. I mean, she she'd walk
- 34:00Speaker 3: she'd walked through Frankenberger's and uh, you know where Frankenburger was,
- 34:05Speaker 3: and uh.
- 34:06Speaker 4: We're in the old Frankenburger mansion.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Here and she she say alo to everybody, and everybody
- 34:12Speaker 3: say ala to her. And I think I got that
- 34:17Speaker 3: from her.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Right, people person. She's a real people person.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Yeah, she would uh, how you doing? How you doing?
- 34:23Speaker 3: How you do? And everybody say al load to her?
- 34:26Speaker 4: But without giving away too much. And I don't want
- 34:28Speaker 4: to turn this into a therapy session, okay, Uh, but
- 34:31Speaker 4: but how how different was the woman who was your
- 34:36Speaker 4: mother in public as opposed to private?
- 34:40Speaker 3: Pretty different?
- 34:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I have, I kind of had. I kind of
- 34:43Speaker 4: see I've always said this, people that do people that
- 34:46Speaker 4: are people, People that are people people, And I'm I'm
- 34:49Speaker 4: a I'm a people person. Although the older I get,
- 34:51Speaker 4: the less of people person I am. But but I
- 34:54Speaker 4: will say, we don't normally come from quote unquote perfect backgrounds,
- 35:02Speaker 4: you know. I mean. I had a very difficult relationship
- 35:05Speaker 4: with my mother, who passed a few years ago, had
- 35:08Speaker 4: a strained even though I respected him a lot. Had
- 35:10Speaker 4: a strained relationship with my father too. My parents were
- 35:13Speaker 4: divorced when I was five. But I had a very
- 35:16Speaker 4: difficult relationship with my mother as well. And I think
- 35:18Speaker 4: it shapes who you are, and it can shape you
- 35:22Speaker 4: in a good way a bad way. It's a little
- 35:24Speaker 4: bit of both.
- 35:26Speaker 3: It was it was we would get in the car
- 35:34Speaker 3: and I would get in the car and I would
- 35:38Speaker 3: turn on Papa Jay, Papa J. J Jerrol, Yeah, J Jerrol,
- 35:45Speaker 3: and she would flip over to W T I P.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Which was which was a beautiful music. She says, it's
- 35:54Speaker 3: my car. I paid for it with my money, and
- 35:58Speaker 3: We're going to listen to radio station. And then I
- 36:00Speaker 3: want to listen to.
- 36:01Speaker 4: And that's not entirely wrong, is it? Maybe it is? Maybe,
- 36:11Speaker 4: maybe it is all.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Right, we're looking forward to It became very competitive.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I got you, I got you, I got you, and
- 36:18Speaker 4: she's obviously she's she's passed now.
- 36:21Speaker 3: She passed twenty five years ago.
- 36:25Speaker 4: Did your relationship toward the end of her life get
- 36:27Speaker 4: any better?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you a story. She wanted me to
- 36:35Speaker 3: buy this house up on Norwood Road, and we had
- 36:41Speaker 3: mellowed out and she wanted to get to know her
- 36:46Speaker 3: grandson and that didn't go over too well because her
- 36:52Speaker 3: grandson was was not legitimate. If you get the drift
- 37:00Speaker 3: and she had to get used to that. And so
- 37:06Speaker 3: she she walked into the house and she wanted this change,
- 37:15Speaker 3: this change, this change, that carpet change. And she walked
- 37:21Speaker 3: into the to the living room and she said, I
- 37:26Speaker 3: want rid of that g D fan. It was a
- 37:32Speaker 3: a Sears fan with little drop lights, you know what
- 37:38Speaker 3: I'm talking about.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Fan.
- 37:40Speaker 3: And I waited and went over and told her, we're
- 37:48Speaker 3: not going to get rid of the fan.
- 37:50Speaker 4: I mean your house, right, I mean you paid for it, yeah,
- 37:53Speaker 4: I mean you're an adult at this point obviously, Yeah.
- 37:56Speaker 3: And I paid for it, right, And I pad for
- 38:00Speaker 3: my money. I mean my father had had died and
- 38:05Speaker 3: left me one hundred and twelve thousand dollars and I
- 38:07Speaker 3: paid for my own money. So I paid for the
- 38:11Speaker 3: house of the moon money. So I said, I'm going
- 38:14Speaker 3: to pay for the house and I'm going to keep
- 38:17Speaker 3: the fan. And for the rest of her life. She
- 38:22Speaker 3: looked into the window and look in that window right
- 38:27Speaker 3: out of that Lincoln and to see if that fan
- 38:31Speaker 3: was still there.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Again, not to turn this into a therapy session, the
- 38:35Speaker 4: fan meant a whole lot more than just a fan. Yeah,
- 38:38Speaker 4: I mean it was very symbolic.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a fan. She kept looking at.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Y, but it wasn't about the fan.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Yeah, she wanted she wanted that fan out.
- 38:46Speaker 4: She wanted the control was what she wanted was. It
- 38:48Speaker 4: wasn't about the fan. It could have been anything.
- 38:52Speaker 3: It could have been anything.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Talking to uh, Danny Jones, But Dave Allen showing five

- 39:10Speaker 4: what you don't know can hurt you. All Right. So,
- 39:13Speaker 4: since we last spoke, mister Jones, the whole Charlie Kirk thing,
- 39:18Speaker 4: I mean, you were on the show last week, the
- 39:20Speaker 4: services were held. There was the vigilin Morgantown, there were
- 39:24Speaker 4: several thousand that came to the one in Charleston. The
- 39:27Speaker 4: big service, of course, was yesterday out in Arizona. And
- 39:33Speaker 4: one thing I wanted to get your take on you
- 39:35Speaker 4: being a media guy is the fact that the whole
- 39:38Speaker 4: Jimmy Kimmel situation, I mean Kimmel suspended slash fired, whatever
- 39:43Speaker 4: you want to call it. And I had Burke Allen
- 39:46Speaker 4: on the show last week, who was you know, does
- 39:49Speaker 4: so many things, but he's you know, very very well
- 39:52Speaker 4: versed in the world of entertainment, and that Jimmy Kimmel's
- 39:55Speaker 4: story is not simple. There are literally about five or
- 39:58Speaker 4: six different well layers to that story. Because on one hand,
- 40:02Speaker 4: Danny and I said this last week, it's ABC's a
- 40:05Speaker 4: private company. They can they can hire and fire whoever
- 40:07Speaker 4: they want. However, when you have somebody in the Federal
- 40:11Speaker 4: Communications Commission that issues statements and Trump says, we're coming
- 40:14Speaker 4: after you know, Seth Meyers next, We're coming after Jimmy
- 40:18Speaker 4: Fallon next, That's where I have I don't have a
- 40:21Speaker 4: problem with I don't have a problem with ABC firing him.
- 40:24Speaker 4: I mean, it's their company, but but I do have
- 40:26Speaker 4: a problem when the governmental officials get involved.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Now he doesn't I agree with Ted Cruse. Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Ted Cruz nailed it, And I thought it was pretty
- 40:33Speaker 4: brave of Ted Cruse because most people don't stand up
- 40:36Speaker 4: to Donald Trump.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:38Speaker 4: He he very strongly disagrees with the President on this,
- 40:41Speaker 4: and of all people, Ted Cruz.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and this, I can't think of the the station
- 40:51Speaker 3: over here. They're owned by our channel eight. Who are they?
- 40:56Speaker 4: Sinclair? Sinclair owns one and.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Claire the Conservative. Yeah, and so is Next Star. Next
- 41:03Speaker 3: Star they own thirteen in Charleston. Yeah. And so they
- 41:09Speaker 3: get to decide who, who what goes on their station, right, Yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 3: and that and that might mean Jimmy Cammel, it might
- 41:22Speaker 3: mean whoever.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Well, but I have a little I have an issue
- 41:27Speaker 4: with people say, well, you know, this is the censorship.
- 41:30Speaker 4: It's like not want a ABC. I mean, the owners
- 41:32Speaker 4: of this company could come in at any time and
- 41:34Speaker 4: say out, you know to me. Uh. And it's not
- 41:38Speaker 4: that's not censorship. That's a private company. But nobody, nobody's
- 41:41Speaker 4: really leaned on them. And there's got this you know,
- 41:43Speaker 4: you got this deal that's going on with Sinclair and
- 41:46Speaker 4: the Next Star and buying other stations and so on
- 41:48Speaker 4: and so forth. And I mean, you know, the sec
- 41:50Speaker 4: chair all but comes out and just says, we can
- 41:53Speaker 4: do this the hard way or the easy way. Uh.
- 41:56Speaker 4: And And I guess where I my thing is is
- 41:58Speaker 4: that they talk about telling you know, one of the
- 42:02Speaker 4: one of the things that they said was about telling lies. Well,
- 42:06Speaker 4: Jimmy Kimmel's a comedian, you know. I mean, the whole
- 42:10Speaker 4: basis of comedy is a lie because you're telling stories.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Go back to when you're kidn there was knock knock joke.
- 42:17Speaker 4: There's not actually somebody at your door, you know, it's
- 42:20Speaker 4: it's it's I mean, and that's and that's where I
- 42:23Speaker 4: have an issue. I don't have a problem with ABC
- 42:24Speaker 4: fire Nay. If that's what they want to do, more
- 42:26Speaker 4: power to them. They're a private company. I do have
- 42:27Speaker 4: a problem with the with the the giant hand of
- 42:31Speaker 4: government being involved in That's that's.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Where I agree.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I agree, and I mean it would be the same
- 42:38Speaker 4: when when when you're mayor or mayor mayor Goodwin calling
- 42:42Speaker 4: the owners of this company and saying, well, I don't
- 42:44Speaker 4: I don't like Dave Allen uh and he's saying that's
- 42:48Speaker 4: there would be none of your or her business what
- 42:50Speaker 4: this private company does, in my opinion, in my opinion,
- 42:52Speaker 4: all right, so and and but I will say this,
- 42:55Speaker 4: late night TV ratings are not what they used to be.
- 42:59Speaker 4: I mean, they're the streaming numbers are good, you know.
- 43:02Speaker 4: I mean, I got one of my co workers I
- 43:03Speaker 4: shared an office with up there, she she loves it,
- 43:06Speaker 4: but she she streams it, she didn't watch it, you know,
- 43:08Speaker 4: live the and and and I think the difference though,
- 43:11Speaker 4: And I talked about this last week, and you'll agree
- 43:13Speaker 4: with this.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Sea.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I watched Johnny Carson now, I mean I will record, Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 4: I love I love Carson. Carson took out everybody. He
- 43:21Speaker 4: didn't have an agenda. His agenda was to try to
- 43:23Speaker 4: be funny. And right now, if Johnny Carson were on
- 43:26Speaker 4: the air, he'd be going after Donald Trump, but he'd
- 43:28Speaker 4: also be going after AOC. I mean he did. He
- 43:33Speaker 4: did everybody, and that's what you should do, as in
- 43:37Speaker 4: my opinion.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Right go after Bob Hope. He didn't like Bob Hope.
- 43:42Speaker 4: I watched an episode over the weekend that it was
- 43:46Speaker 4: one of the final because Carson hung it up in
- 43:49Speaker 4: ninety two. This was like one of the final three
- 43:50Speaker 4: or four shows. And on that show he had on
- 43:53Speaker 4: Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope, and David Letterman, and Letterman is
- 43:56Speaker 4: one of my idols. I mean, I love Letterman. And
- 43:59Speaker 4: uh yeah, you're talking about a heavy, heavy hitting light.
- 44:02Speaker 4: But you say he didn't like Bob.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Hope because Bob Hope everything was heard.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, Bob. Bob was funny.
- 44:09Speaker 3: But Bob was it.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Was Yeah, it was very, very very stiff in history.
- 44:15Speaker 2: He was.
- 44:17Speaker 4: And you know, I've talked about Carson before. Carson was
- 44:19Speaker 4: not a good person. I've read a couple of books
- 44:21Speaker 4: about Johnny Carson. He was very he was not a
- 44:24Speaker 4: good person.
- 44:24Speaker 3: No, No, he wasn't. Yeah, and uh, Henry Henry Burnstein,
- 44:31Speaker 3: Henry his manage. I know you're talking.
- 44:33Speaker 4: I read it.
- 44:33Speaker 3: I've read his book and uh, you can go to
- 44:36Speaker 3: Joan Rivers and she did a review of it and
- 44:39Speaker 3: it's on. It's on. You can watch it on YouTube. Yeah,
- 44:44Speaker 3: and it's good.

- 47:27Speaker 4: Charlie Kirk was a martyr for his faith in Jesus Christ.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Nothing but evil which is in our world. Charlie was
- 47:32Speaker 4: a hero that made a huge difference now and in
- 47:35Speaker 4: the future, says a Texter, Texas Dave, I truly believe
- 47:39Speaker 4: Erica Kirk said the one thing that evil members of
- 47:43Speaker 4: the left never expect and could not possibly comprehend how
- 47:46Speaker 4: she would state it, which is why instead of showing
- 47:48Speaker 4: one tiny inkling of humanity and civility, they've chosen to
- 47:50Speaker 4: double down on their nasty personal slander of her late husband.
- 47:54Speaker 4: God is winning and it scares them to death. Tex says.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Kimmel's erosion viewership follows a bumpy twenty for annual Nielsen

- 48:04Speaker 4: one point seventy seven million total viewers last year, down
- 48:08Speaker 4: two point three percent from twenty twenty three. In the demo,
- 48:11Speaker 4: Kimmel shed more than twelve percent, pulling two hundred twenty
- 48:14Speaker 4: one thousand nightly viewers on average. That was an article
- 48:17Speaker 4: from the New York Post. So let me get back
- 48:23Speaker 4: to the book here for a moment. Yeah, you said
- 48:26Speaker 4: something to me during the break that you wanted to
- 48:29Speaker 4: get out.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Or people aren't going to get upset because they liked
- 48:33Speaker 3: my mother and they're gonna get upset that I would
- 48:39Speaker 3: take her on like this and they're gonna they're not
- 48:44Speaker 3: gonna like it.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Why did you feel the need to have to do
- 48:48Speaker 4: that in the book? I mean, you can't tell your story,
- 48:50Speaker 4: you know without it. I get it because it makes
- 48:53Speaker 4: you who you are, just like it does with everybody, because.
- 48:56Speaker 3: It was what the truth?
- 48:57Speaker 4: But why did you feel the need because it's the truth? Well,
- 49:00Speaker 4: I understand that, but there's a lot of other things
- 49:02Speaker 4: that you that you that you.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Can't get around it. It's a truth. Can't get around it.
- 49:10Speaker 3: It's it's it's like the big oak tree. You can't
- 49:13Speaker 3: get around it, can't get around it. It's a truth.
- 49:19Speaker 4: How much of your relationship with your parents made you
- 49:22Speaker 4: who you are? Because I mean, I'm a big believer,
- 49:24Speaker 4: and it makes you who you are in a lot
- 49:26Speaker 4: of ways. Good or bad. As I said earlier, how
- 49:28Speaker 4: much your your relationship and the tense relationship that you
- 49:31Speaker 4: had with your mother led you to do all these things. Well,
- 49:35Speaker 4: i'm playing amateur psychologist here now.
- 49:37Speaker 3: When I was fourteen, fifteen years old, pretty well independent. Yeah,
- 49:48Speaker 3: I was at the I was at the Hub pool room,
- 49:52Speaker 3: and that's just where I hung out. And that's where
- 49:56Speaker 3: I went every day. Every night on the weekend, I
- 50:00Speaker 3: went to the Hub and that's where I hung out.
- 50:05Speaker 3: And that's where and then I went to work into Sterling,
- 50:12Speaker 3: and then I went to work at the filling station.
- 50:16Speaker 3: And it was there's some stuff in that book that's
- 50:22Speaker 3: gonna that's gonna rouse some people.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Well, it's it's the truth, as you said, the truth
- 50:30Speaker 4: according to Danny. So so it's true.
- 50:33Speaker 3: You gotta true truth. You gotta tell the truth, you
- 50:35Speaker 3: gotta tell a little all.
- 50:37Speaker 4: So all these different things, again, I'm playing amateur psychologist here.
- 50:42Speaker 4: So all these different things that you've done, you know, legislator, sheriff,
- 50:46Speaker 4: multiple term mayor, actor, restauranteur, all these things. Do you
- 50:52Speaker 4: think that maybe you were in some way trying to
- 50:56Speaker 4: trying to impress your mom by doing all this.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Thing and that's the one thing. Harry MacLean, you know,
- 51:04Speaker 3: the Skidmore guy, he's read the book. He said, you
