What does “Lamb of God” mean? This phrase refers to the offering of a sacrifice to God. The Jews sacrificed animals to God to atone for their sins, using animals as sin offerings. In the same way, Jesus Christ was sacrificed to “take away” the sin of the world, the sins of all who believe in Him.
