Tree Falls, Power Out for 25K | Durham News
A giant tree took a nap across power lines early Wednesday, plunging over 25,000 people into darkness—mostly south of the Durham Freeway. The full-sized tree down on Bridgewood Drive snapped multiple lines, including a main transmission line, and knocked out three substations.
