- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Someone did someone did say that the roadkill that you see on the side of the road that gets picked up by like the town and the city.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: That it does go to the landfill.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: I mean I guess it's that's acceptable.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I I don't know, somebody must have done some research to know that the decomposing rotting corpses of deer, raccoon, beaver.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: That's why the the is okay there.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: The garbage people, town people, you have all the respect for me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, you have it all for me too.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: I know a few of the folk that work for like the highway department and all that.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And uh I it's a job that, quite frankly, I'd like to skip past if I suddenly had to come work with you.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: I'd be like, can we do a draw straws?
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Can I do something else?
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: I'll I'd rather do 19 of uh 19 other jobs as opposed to that one.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I would imagine it's like being in the military, and you're the one that always gets picked to clean the latrine, the bathroom, you know.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: You're like, the Sarge is above that, you know.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Hey, I have something I want to you we we had mentioned earlier on the show, you were looking for things that you were hoping your parents would stop doing, especially at their age.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: And I thought, all right, you know what?
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: I got something for you here.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: How about polite habits?
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: You may want to ditch.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Now, this one surprised me when I read it because I'm like, polite habits?
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Don't we want to be polite?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I feel we live in a pseudo-rude world where there are times.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, there are times where uh, okay, you can have a I may have lost my mind temper, temporary insanity moment.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: That's that's one thing.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: It's not your normal practice to be rude.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: But then there are people that have a level of constant and they use it as their own personal barrier, almost like their own protection system.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: And it's their personality.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: They use they like wear it as a badge of honor.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Badge of honor.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Well, these are polite habits that you may want to ditch.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: They say being polite is uh as simple as well, being kind and showing uh lovely gestures.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And the rules of etiquette are not hard and fast.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, that we know.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: They have changed in the last decade alone.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: There are some uh polite gestures that may quietly well end up being a little distasteful.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go through these, you tell me.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: I guess we could do a competition.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Who's nicer?
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Who's more guilty of these?
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: The one thing they said we gotta stop doing is kissing or hugging hello.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Kissing hello, I don't do.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Um, no.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Hugging hello rarely.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I I who do you hug?
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Do you have a girlfriend that you kiss when you see her?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: You do not?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I got oh, I have an old boss.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that that story.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I we have a I don't know that that's your choice.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: He's a mouth kisser, he comes in for the kill.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: You there's no reaction.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Uh no time.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Hugging, though, I'm always hugging.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And I sometimes I I try to stop myself, but then I go, Oh, I'm a hugger.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And and usually people go, okay.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: The well, in this case, the hugging hello.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: The kissing?
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: No.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Leaving detailed voice messages.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: It's time for all right, I'm guilty.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: I'll just take the point.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: And I hate it when my mom's like, but you didn't leave me a message.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: I'll talk to you when I talk to you.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: What?
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: If it's urgent, aren't you gonna text right away after?
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Mom, why didn't you answer?
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: My legs hanging by a thread.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: There's really never anything that's urgent.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Yet.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Now that you've cursed yourself.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Uh okay, so uh I'll take the guilty on that one.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Automatically saying yes.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Yes, I am guilty of that.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Wait, can we go back?
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: One thing about the messages is that you know they're never being listened to.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: I I hate to burst your bubble.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Um, I like to think they are.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: They're not I already said I'm guilty.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, thanks.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Did you just want to grind it in a little more?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Miss, I can't say no to anything.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I cannot.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Uh replying thanks to a group email.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Just thanks in general.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: How about replying to a group email?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: How long we don't do that?
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Unless it is a we are collaborating in this email, as in everybody give me one sentence on what we should call Oh, I was in a group email with Rural King because we were in the group email with like their corporate this is like national salesperson, our regional, and then it was me and somebody else.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: But that was an ongoing conversation.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: That wasn't the group email from Stacy, our HR director for corporate, that said there's going to be three paychecks in October, and randomly Rocco from you know somewhere El Tuna, you know, messages back everyone.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: We don't need Rocco.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we don't need your thanks.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Tagging people in social media.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Please, please, for the love of God, stop.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: For me.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I like it.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: I don't need what's our DJ buddy next door.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Um uh Shellman.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Shellman, please stop tagging me on my personal page.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, there you go.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Well well, I think it depends.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: If I was there in the picture, then tag me.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Tag me.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: If I wasn't there, don't tag me.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Don't tag me.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: That's that should be the new rules.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: That's the etiquette on that.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: They're trying to get people to come to their events.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Saying no worries.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, I do do though.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I guess I'm kind of guilty too.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Because I don't like to say like I I feel like no worries can be a little rude sounding, but I don't know what else to say.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: What else do you say?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Oh I mean, you can't really say it's okay because it's not okay.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: It's not okay.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: But no worries.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Here's one apologizing for every little thing.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, I hate this.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna stop for a minute on this.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I think it should actually be starting a sentence with, hey, sorry, but um one, you're but that's not really an uh an apology.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Well, right, but you're attempting to endear them with the sorry, but no, don't even waste your time with that.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Don't uh sh I'm not reading that one because that's gonna benefit you.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Um, heaven forbid.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Showing up early.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: They say stop doing it.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is so great! Yes, I hate when people show up early.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: If I tell you that the bonfire is at six, show up at six, don't show up at five thirty.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: I'm not ready for you.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: And I'm probably naked.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: I think they're referring to the bonfire starts at six, but Allie gets there at eight.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Two hours late is a little much, but don't show up to my house because I'm not gonna be ready.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Well, you're right.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Showing up early is rude.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Uh let me give you a great example.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: A trunk or treat coming up October 17th at Wise.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: What time does that start, Allie?
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: 11.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Don't show up until 11.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: You don't need to be there at nine in the morning standing there.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: We're not even ready for you.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: All you're doing is making your kids get a head cold until it's open.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: And then they sound like this.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Showering someone with compliments.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Well, that'll stop right now, you piece of crap.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I love this one.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: But showering them with it.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, one is good.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, one's good, two's better, but beyond that, it's a lot.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Three is too much.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Uh being self uh self-deprecating.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: They say stop doing it.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: These are the uh okay, but sometimes it can be funny.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Like Gavin yesterday was walking out of school.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: He's been complaining he can't see me when I'm standing around the other parents and he's walking out.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: And Lucas goes, he's six foot tall.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: And I go, I'm six foot one and bald, and you can't see me?
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: That's funny self-deprecating.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm bald.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Who cares, right?
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but that's not even self-deprecating.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: That's just a factual thing.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: You are six one and bald.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: RSVP RSVPing informally.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: What do you mean?
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: What does that mean exactly?
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, I think I know what this means.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: If there is an actual invitation and you and instead of doing like the the the like a wedding invitation, and instead of you doing the the mail back, yes, that you actually text, no, I I want the mail back.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: You need the mail back, you're keeping track.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Right, and the yeah, and the reason is because I'm organized over here with this thing.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: I understand that one.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: All right, so well honestly, we're really early.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: No, but back to not being early.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: For not being early.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, please.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Please don't just stop.
