- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, Finland's got this thing they started.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Now watch out.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Ideas start all over the place and then make it to different places.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Um they're pink shopping baskets.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: So when you go to the store, now you know they're I'm gonna everybody's been to Wagmans.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: So think about this.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: You got the big cart, you got the little cart, which I always get the little cart because it makes me feel better, but then it's overflowing.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'm also a little little cart person too.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Then you also have the ham baskets.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I do that.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: These are the ham baskets, and they're pink, and they're by design announcing to the world I am single here at the grocery store.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Hit on me.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, start a conversation with me.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: You don't pick up the basket when you don't have time.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: That's not Scott's worried about the safety thing.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I do have more of a vibe of the safety thing.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I think that, yes, you can advertise you're single, but I also say there's a couple ways to do it.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: If you've decided to take an online dating approach, you have a level of uh security there for you because you can either stop a conversation, you can say, not interested in that person.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm not sure.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: You can even report them.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: There, so there are those things you can do.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: And next thing you know, I'm just worried somebody's following you all around the grocery store and not comfortably.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And then they know your license plate number.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: 873921.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Callie says, We'll never work here.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: It would end up with too much stocking.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Then this person, I like the idea.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Callie.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: I appreciate you understanding my point.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: 3836, I like the idea of it, but it needs a colored cart where I just want to shop, don't bug me.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: That's the thing.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: The pink is just for the this scenario.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You can have a brown one for everything else.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Then this one came in that said, I would love this.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: It's so hard to meet a nice guy.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Did the dating apps with no success.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: I think people who've done dating apps and they they have not had success.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And I I mean, I've been down that road.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: That's why Oh, I'm not saying dating apps are perfect.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: In fact, they're far more flawed than bad than good.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: But that's why I'm open to this idea.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, although I'm not I'm not single.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Here's one.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Nope, nope, nope.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Three nopes.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: I agree with Scott.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It's too creepy.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: How do you know that guy that's grabbing the pink basket is actually really single?
- 2:14unknown: Oh, yeah.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Well, that's that angle too.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: That's the same on dating apps, though, too.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Anyway, they said, How do you know that he's not stalking single women?
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: That's where my brain goes.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I don't want some guy following me through the store, whether I'm single or not.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And if uh and if single, I would probably grab the other basket and say, I'm not single.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: I guess I watch too many dateline crime shows.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, this is the part that really does concern me.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: And and because I I feel that we are in a society, I don't want everything to jump to the worst case scenario.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: But this one really feels like it opens the door, except for one location.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you in a minute.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, and then 3328, safety is a big thing.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: What if that creepy dude who is the one that's been following you through the grocery store, because I get that feeling while shopping alone, follows you to your car or even your house.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: But to be fair, I'm also the same girl who wouldn't pay to fix her RBF, so it makes less, so it makes me less approachable.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: It would be a nice idea.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: If again, if I didn't watch Investigation Discovery and listen to murder podcasts, that is a running theme with our listeners.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: We uh we call that educational uh programming, my friends.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it keeps you aware.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Here's where it would work.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And now we're not gonna do this at uh a Walmart.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm just telling you right now, these are the stories you're not gonna do this.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're not gonna do this at Walmart.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: I recommend you don't do this at Aldi.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: You could 1,000% do this at Trader Joe's.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: You probably could do this at Wegman's and um well You're saying the basket idea in general.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: The basket idea in general.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: And if you're gonna do a tops, sure, I mean, if you're gonna do it at a Jubilee, frankly, that just dumped Elkor right into it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: So you just you're gonna have Granny love.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Hey, I'm totally looking for somebody who's ready to put me in their will.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: But but you see where I'm saying, like, I just feel and and even honestly, I'm gonna whittle it down.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Really, the one and only place that I would do this would be like a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Because that is a completely unique experience from any other grocery store.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Then you're gonna have a hippie.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: You could have a hippie or you're gonna have a um extremely well you're gonna have a well-to-do person.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: No, no blue collar for Scot Free.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: No, no, I'm just saying, I I think that it's not we think hippie with Trader Joe's because they're in Ithaca.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: But Oh, I was thinking Whole Foods.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: And what's that other one up in Ithaca that's um North Star?
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Is it North Star?
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Well, that's another one.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, is that the food commune or food co-op?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Uh no, it's a grocery store.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't I don't know if it's a co-op or not.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: But I don't know.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Oh wait, I want to read one more text.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: I love the idea.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: The internet scares me more.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: People can disguise their identity easier.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: In a story, you are seeing people's actual faces, you can read body language, even if it is creepy.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now you are getting, you know, a couple cucumbers and and you're gonna make your way over to the meat department.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: And a date.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Do you look at your at the person, and you know, let's say they approach you.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Do you look right over and you're like, no, thank you.
- 5:20unknown: No.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: How do you let him down?
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: That's the hard part.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: That's the hard part.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Because I feel there's gonna be a lot more wanting to let down than say, Let me make you a steak tonight.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: There you have to be like, actually, I am interested in the guy in produce.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's gonna work real nice.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Then there's gonna be a fight in produce, you know.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Um, something I'd referenced a couple times in this segment was the blue collar grocery store.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: I have a blue coll collar thing to tell you in a second that just got released yesterday.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: That if you're a Bills fan, you will love us.
