- 0:00Then just two days later, Jack's girlfriend's mom happens to be on the phone with the detective
- 0:10as she's sorting the family's mail.
- 0:13And suddenly she says, "Oh my god."
- 0:18Which is never a great sign.
- 0:20Unless it's like, "Oh my god, look, someone sent us like a shitload of money."
- 0:24Oh my god, look at that fruit basket!
- 0:26[Music]
- 0:38Hi Cassie.
- 0:39Hi Caitlyn.
- 0:40Hi creepy people.
- 0:42Hello!
- 0:43Hello!
- 0:44If you're new to our creepy corner of the world, this is PNW Haunts and Homicides, where we chat about true crime, paranormal and all things.
- 0:55Creepy or spooky in the Pacific Northwest.
- 1:00We do a tarot reading at the end for deeper insight into the episodes, so make sure you stick around if you're into that.
- 1:09They should be.
- 1:10By now, it's a must-listen.
- 1:13Haven't we converted them?
- 1:15I hope so.
- 1:16Yeah.
- 1:17All right Cassie, are you ready?
- 1:19Sure, yeah, I'm ready.
- 1:21I don't think you are, but I guess we'll find out.
- 1:25I don't know, you made the room all spooky and red, so it kind of feels like my vibe.
- 1:29Yeah, totally.
- 1:31On Wednesday, September 27th, 2000, Barry Hornstein was at his family home in Laurelhurst.
- 1:40Do you know where Laurelhurst is?
- 1:43Is that a town or an area?
- 1:45It's a neighborhood in Portland.
- 1:47Yeah, okay.
- 1:48At the time, he was recently separated from his wife, Kathy, though they'd been married for roughly 20 years.
- 1:56That's a long time.
- 1:58Well, you might want to earmark that for later.
- 2:00Okay.
- 2:01You might get a little bit of an explanation as to why.
- 2:04Okay.
- 2:06The couple's 17-year-old son, Jack, had already left for school at about 8 a.m. that morning.
- 2:12Then later, at around 10 a.m., Barry left his home for the workday without a care in the world,
- 2:20nor an enemy to point to in the world seemingly.
- 2:24Oh, it's like this is sounding really great.
- 2:26I know.
- 2:27So wholesome.
- 2:28Besides the separation part.
- 2:30Yeah.
- 2:31I mean, you know, some ups and downs.
- 2:33Got no care in the world.
- 2:34That sounds nice.
- 2:35I know.
- 2:36What's that like?
- 2:38Barry was already in his car with his briefcase ready to leave for work when he spotted something strange.
- 2:46It was a cylindrical object wrapped in black tape.
- 2:52Okay.
- 2:53A cylindrical object.
- 2:57Okay.
- 2:59I don't want to say what I'm thinking, but.
- 3:02Rather than touch the item, he opted to sort of prod it, giving it a little kick.
- 3:10It was an odd decision that likely spared his life.
- 3:14Oh, shit.
- 3:16Barry described looking down to see that there was a large amount of blood coming from his leg through his shredded pants.
- 3:27Okay.
- 3:29At 10.19 a.m. Barry's Laurelhurst neighbors heard a boom.
- 3:36I don't like that.
- 3:38It was Jeff Dixon that called 911 after he saw his neighbor lying injured near his vehicle.
- 3:46Richard Price, who lived just a few houses down on a nearby corner, said he was in the shower when he heard the explosion.
- 3:56That would be scary.
- 3:59What the fuck is that?
- 4:00Fireworks?
- 4:01That's what I would think.
- 4:02I don't think you would have thought this was fireworks.
- 4:05They're a little too close.
- 4:07They're a little too close, and it's definitely a different booming sound from what I gather.
- 4:14It was a big boom, and I'm pretty deaf, he said.
- 4:18So this is someone who already doesn't have great hearing, and he's in a running shower, and he'll heard it.
- 4:25Yeah.
- 4:26No word on the name of the other terrified resident in the Price Household, but I thought it was important to note that his puppy was not amused.
- 4:37Extremely frightened, in fact, from the sounds of it.
- 4:40No, he didn't have a thunder shirt.
- 4:42No, I don't think they were expecting thunder at that point.
- 4:46Hundreds of feet away, chunks of pipe landed on the Laurel-Hurst Elementary School lawn.
- 4:52Oh, God, it was close to a school.
- 4:55Yeah, this is a residential neighborhood.
- 4:58A fairly upscale one at that, so dang.
- 5:03Yeah.
- 5:04One neighbor reported a piece of flying shrapnel that came through a window of their home, which is kind of horrifying.
- 5:14The bomb was far more sophisticated than was typical of an average pipe bomb.
- 5:22It had an electronic battery to assist in detonation, and there were ball bearings inside the pipe.
- 5:32Oh, God.
- 5:33Why did they put things in the bombs?
- 5:35I don't like it. It's already a bomb.
- 5:37They do that because it makes it far more deadly.
- 5:40I know, but I don't like it.
- 5:42It was clearly intended to be fatal, but no forensic evidence was found on the bomb remnants that were collected from the crime scene.
- 5:52Wouldn't it just burn all up?
- 5:54I mean, not necessarily.
- 5:56There are still like bits and shards and things that fly in all directions out from the blast.
- 6:04Back to Barry.
- 6:06Barry. The bones in his lower right leg were shattered.
- 6:14And there was widespread tissue loss.
- 6:18In the hospital, days from a combination of drugs, he was administered, as well as, I'm sure, a fair bit of shock.
- 6:27Barry was informed that he was being taken into surgery for an emergency amputation of part of his leg.
- 6:36Jesus, that's awful.
- 6:38Yeah.
- 6:39Which I have to say, though, it makes the question at the point of amputation.
- 6:46Are there situations that it's not an emergency?
- 6:50I mean, I assume we're not doing that casually.
- 6:53I mean, sometimes I have to amputate because of diabetes or whatever.
- 6:57It's like an emergency, but not like.
- 6:59Yeah.
- 7:00I mean, that's the only thing that I could think of as well.
- 7:02That's the only thing.
- 7:03Or if someone had a slow moving infection or possibly.
- 7:08You guys let us know.
- 7:10Yeah.
- 7:11So then I started to wonder.
- 7:15Would emergency surgery to amputate his leg have been better phrasing?
- 7:20In any case, he would undergo life-saving surgery, amputating his leg below the knee.
- 7:28The investigator showed up to talk to him even before Barry went into surgery,
- 7:34because there was a little bit of concern as to whether or not he would survive.
- 7:41Oh, geez.
- 7:43But Barry woke up after his surgery at Legacy Emanuel to quite a start.
- 7:49The gaunt vaguely, I'm going to say spooky, man.
- 7:56In all black, left him concerned that he had come face to face with the grim reaper.
- 8:03Oh, was it a priest?
- 8:06No.
- 8:07In truth, it was Portland Police Detective William Law.
- 8:12That makes sense, but law, really?
- 8:14Wow.
- 8:15If you're going into law enforcement, I'm hard pressed to think of a better name.
- 8:19I feel like if you have the last name law, you have to be a police officer or like a lawyer or something.
- 8:25Pretty much.
- 8:26Like those are your options.
- 8:28Figure it out.
- 8:29Sorry.
- 8:30Pick a lane.
- 8:31He told the detective that he couldn't think of anyone who'd want to harm him or his family.
- 8:38Yeah, because he like didn't have a care in the world.
- 8:41Everyone loved me.
- 8:43Didn't have an enemy.
- 8:44I got my briefcase.
- 8:45I'm going to my real job.
- 8:47Yep.
- 8:48That's all I thought about when you said briefcase, I was like, this man has a real job.
- 8:52That is a real ass job.
- 8:54I'm going to start bringing in a briefcase over here.
- 8:56Okay.
- 8:57Okay.
- 8:58I think that'd be good.
- 8:59I feel good about that.
- 9:00Legitimize this.
- 9:01I'm going to go to Goodwill and find one.
- 9:02You know what?
- 9:03It's a tax right off.
- 9:04Go to fucking Louis Vuitton.
- 9:08We need that company credit card first.
- 9:11That is exactly why we will not be issued a company credit card.
- 9:18Barry was a 59 year old Jewish Portland native and actually a lifelong resident who had graduated
- 9:26from Lincoln High.
- 9:28Oh, I know.
- 9:30Just a local guy.
- 9:32Portlandian.
- 9:33Portlandian.
- 9:35He had attended classes and played football with Michael Schrunk.
- 9:42Are we supposed to know who that is?
- 9:43I mean, probably not.
- 9:45This is a long time ago and it's not like he was the president.
- 9:48He was then the Multnomah County District Attorney.
- 9:52Oh.
- 9:53So, probably not a bad friend to have.
- 9:57No.
- 9:58The BADA.
- 9:59Mm-hmm.
- 10:00Badass.
- 10:01I like that.
- 10:02District Attorney.
- 10:03Uh.
- 10:04Okay.
- 10:05Woo!
- 10:06Woo!
- 10:07At the time, he worked as an insurance agent primarily handling clients in the restaurant industry.
- 10:14So that's what Barry did with his totally real, grown-ass adult job.
- 10:22That's where he took his briefcase.
- 10:24Uh-huh.
- 10:25Insurance.
- 10:26Place.
- 10:27I imagine all that important paperwork.
- 10:29I know.
- 10:30I'm in that briefcase.
- 10:31Less.
- 10:32Wow.
- 10:33So, he's hardly the type of person you might expect would encounter a pipe bomb, right?
- 10:40Yeah.
- 10:41I was a little surprised.
- 10:46Of course, the investigators take a look at everyone close to Barry, beginning with his,
- 10:55shall we say, estranged, um, separated?
- 10:58Hmm.
- 10:59Kathy.
- 11:00The wife did it.
- 11:02I mean, it's often this spouse, man or woman.
- 11:07That was me quoting a thing, not me saying, but she did it just to you.
- 11:11Oh, I feel like that was clear.
- 11:13Okay.
- 11:14Well, I don't know if you're not a true crime person.
- 11:16Maybe someone's listening for the first time.
- 11:18They're like, oh, she did it.
- 11:20What an accusation.
- 11:21I know.
- 11:22And they immediately turn off the podcast and they don't listen to the rest.
- 11:25So they fully think that Kathy did it.
- 11:28They leave a bad review.
- 11:30Kathy did not do this.
- 11:32Oh, gosh.
- 11:34That is defamation of character.
- 11:37When she learned what had happened to Barry, she quickly rushed to his side.
- 11:42Their separation wasn't intended to end the marriage, but rather to coax him into seeking
- 11:48treatment for his addiction.
- 11:50Oh, okay.
- 11:52New layer.
- 11:53Any guesses?
- 11:55His addiction gambling?
- 11:59How can you read my notes from that?
- 12:01I can't.
- 12:02I just knew.
- 12:03I don't know.
- 12:04I don't know.
- 12:05I don't know.
- 12:06Have you heard this case before?
- 12:07No.
- 12:08I literally am just psychic.
- 12:10Okay.
- 12:11I heard addiction and in my mind said gambling and that is how I said it.
- 12:15She is almost 60.
- 12:17So I feel like gambling to me.
- 12:20That's probably what I would think as well.
- 12:22Normally I would have probably just said like alcohol.
- 12:24Oh.
- 12:25Sex addiction.
- 12:26I'm psychic.
- 12:28All right.
- 12:30Barry told investigators that they had been in therapy for roughly a year prior to their
- 12:35separation because of his gambling addiction.
- 12:39Oh.
- 12:40Yeah.
- 12:41This is rough.
- 12:43Barry gambled away roughly $200,000 from the family savings, but had never taken out debt
- 12:51to support his habit.
- 12:53He lost their life savings but didn't have any threatening debts related to the gambling.
- 12:58So no like, you know, sharks after him.
- 13:02Okay.
- 13:03So that's good, I guess.
- 13:05I mean, yeah.
- 13:06There's that.
- 13:07Next, Jack was questioned on the grounds of his high school.
- 13:12He hadn't seen anything in the driveway when he left for school.
- 13:17Authorities decided to take a closer look into Barry's song, "Shack, though."
- 13:24There weren't any red flags initially.
- 13:28So he played football and seemed popular amongst his peers.
- 13:32Jack was somewhat introverted.
- 13:35There were some fairly typical teenage shenanigans like Aginga House and a paintball incident
- 13:44that had stirred up a bit of tension in their neighborhood.
- 13:50A paintball incident?
- 13:52Yeah.
- 13:53I didn't get into the details, but it sounds like maybe somebody had some paint damage
- 13:58or like a broken window or...
- 14:01It's not great, but nothing that seemingly would have motivated this type of vicious attack.
- 14:09Eventually, authorities would learn about flyers that were distributed.
- 14:16They were emailed out to a bunch of Jack's peers at school.
- 14:22The flyers claimed that he was a rapist.
- 14:30Who?
- 14:31Jack.
- 14:32The Jack was a 18-year-old son.
- 14:34Oh, shit.
- 14:35Okay.
- 14:36Yeah.
- 14:37I know it's a little bit hard to wrap your head around.
- 14:39I thought you were saying he put the flyers out.
- 14:41No.
- 14:42Okay.
- 14:43These are flyers that were randomly emailed to a bunch of his peers.
- 14:49And these emails encouraged people to print them out and post them around town.
- 14:55That's awful if it's not true.
- 14:59Mm-hmm.
- 15:00The flyers had been placed in and around his high school and claimed that Jack had raped
- 15:06a 13-year-old girl.
- 15:10Of course, Jack denied these allegations.
- 15:14He was asked to take a lie detector test.
- 15:19Which initially he failed, leading to additional questioning.
- 15:25After investigating further, including conducting a voluntary search of his computer, police
- 15:32then prompted him to take that second lie detector test.
- 15:37Apparently, he was just super nervous the first time because he passed on the second
- 15:42go-around.
- 15:43I was going to say I'd be so nervous I wouldn't pass that I wouldn't pass.
- 15:47Yeah.
- 15:48You know, the thing about lie detector test and this comes up a lot in different cases
- 15:54where they're involved.
- 15:55It's like, this isn't admissible in court.
- 15:58So why are we doing this rigour maryl?
- 16:01Where are we even, you know, bothering?
- 16:03I mean, you're just, honestly, you're just traumatizing a 17-year-old kid who is already
- 16:08stressed to the max.
- 16:10His parents are separated.
- 16:11His dad just had to have his leg amputated.
- 16:15So like, yeah, he might be a little bit, uh, all over the place, emotionally.
- 16:21Definitely.
- 16:22When I'm being questioned, and I feel like I'm lying no matter what.
- 16:25Yeah.
- 16:26I mean, you just feel stressed, you know, than anything.
- 16:31Jack received an anonymous letter that was allegedly addressed by the bomber.
- 16:36Okay.
- 16:38The bomber wrote this letter, allegedly.
- 16:41Allegedly.
- 16:42Okay.
- 16:43The letter indicated remorse for hurting Barry and stated the bomb had been meant for
- 16:52Jack.
- 16:53Mm.
- 16:54Or Barry.
- 16:55I mean, poor.
- 16:57I don't know about Jack yet.
- 16:59I don't know if he's guilty or innocent.
- 17:01True.
- 17:02It doesn't, you don't know how to feel about it.
- 17:03But you assume innocence, right?
- 17:05Mm-hmm.
- 17:06I mean, you always assume until proven otherwise.
- 17:10But still?
- 17:11Or a reasonable doubt for sure for Barry.
- 17:14Yes.
- 17:15Authorities theorized that the bomb had previously been attached to the underside of Jack's
- 17:23vehicle with magnets, which would prove true.
- 17:29Okay.
- 17:30The bomb was attached to Jack's car.
- 17:33And it is only just luck of the draw that it happened to have fallen off the underside
- 17:40of his vehicle.
- 17:42And he drove away and left for school.
- 17:45And it was still laying in the driveway when Barry left for work that morning.
- 17:51Damn, that's like movie shit.
- 17:53Like it is.
- 17:54Literally, I'm watching this on the big screen right now.
- 17:58Yeah.
- 17:59Car bombings.
- 18:00Yeah.
- 18:01It falling off.
- 18:02That's crazy.
- 18:04It's pretty wild.
- 18:05Is there a movie out of this?
- 18:06Because I bet there could be.
- 18:07I don't think there's an actual Hollywood style movie, but there is a documentary of sorts.
- 18:15It's basically just a true crime show that didn't episode about it.
- 18:19But yeah, it's a little cinematic.
- 18:25By October 6th of 2000, shortly after the bomb, Jack visits his girlfriend in Kennewick,
- 18:35Washington.
- 18:36The pair hit Matt at a seaside arcade.
- 18:39Oh.
- 18:40While they were on a family vacation.
- 18:44Like actual seaside or just like, oh my gosh, I was just there.
- 18:49The arcade.
- 18:50The arcade.
- 18:51We walked around on the arcade.
- 18:52Yeah, super cool.
- 18:54That's funny.
- 18:56Over that weekend, his girlfriend's family is spending some time at a park in their
- 19:01neighborhood and his girlfriend's brother then discovers a pipe bomb on the grounds of that
- 19:10park.
- 19:11Oh my gosh, it's still coming.
- 19:14Literally right by their house.
- 19:16It's after him.
- 19:18Funny you say that.
- 19:20It had a note attached in Spanish that read, "If you find this, please give it back to
- 19:28Jack Hornstein."
- 19:31In Spanish?
- 19:33Okay.
- 19:34Weird.
- 19:35That is.
- 19:36Weird.
- 19:37Launforcement quickly responded.
- 19:40They brought the explosive disposal unit, aka the bomb squad for us normies.
- 19:48And thankfully, the device her brother found was discovered to be a fake or a dud.
- 19:56Was it fake or was it a dud?
- 20:00It was fake.
- 20:01Well, it's like, those are two very different things.
- 20:03I have heard it described as both, alternately, but ultimately, it wasn't really a dud because
- 20:11it didn't have the innards of what would make it a bomb, but it was a very convincing fake.
- 20:17So, they thought it might have been a dud until they really like, dug into it.
- 20:22Gosh.
- 20:23Yeah.
- 20:24I don't know why, like, bombs freak me out.
- 20:28I think I've just watched too many movies where it's like the countdown.
- 20:31I hate the fucking countdown.
- 20:32Oh, the countdown.
- 20:33It reminds me of that game where you try to put the shapes in and it's like ticking down.
- 20:38Operation?
- 20:39No.
- 20:40You like, you like put the shapes in all the little holes before it, like pops up.
- 20:45I don't know what that is.
- 20:47I don't think of what it is.
- 20:49If you guys know what it is, tell me.
- 20:52It's dressful.
- 20:53Kathy thought Jack would be safe while in Kennewick.
- 20:58Kathy, Jack's mom, learned about this additional incident with the fake bomb via the news and ordered
- 21:06Jack home.
- 21:07Like, dude, don't let your mom find out a bomb real or fake from the news, especially after
- 21:16everything that your family has just gone through with a very real bomb.
- 21:21Yeah, I don't know if I would have told her.
- 21:24I mean, she's gonna hear about it.
- 21:26I don't know.
- 21:27Did he know that it was gonna be put on the news?
- 21:32You thought that they were gonna find a fake bomb after his dad had already been attacked
- 21:36with a bomb and that wasn't gonna make the news.
- 21:40I don't know.
- 21:41Depends on what kind of mom she is because...
- 21:44It's a pretty sensational bombing as well because this one was literally addressed
- 21:51to him.
- 21:52Yeah.
- 21:53But I could see how he wouldn't tell him, tell her when he's on vacation.
- 21:57No, he wants to stay with his girlfriend.
- 21:59He doesn't want his mom to tell him to come home because she's good.
- 22:02And it was a fake bomb, so it's fine.
- 22:04Mom, it's fine.
- 22:06Yeah.
- 22:07I see where he's coming from.
- 22:09Yeah.
- 22:10But also, like, yikes.
- 22:11Yeah.
- 22:13Kennewick detective Ken Taylor led the Washington end of the investigation.
- 22:20And he received a death threat by phone the day after the discovery.
- 22:26The message was left by someone clearly using a fake Latino accent.
- 22:32Shoo.
- 22:33Hmm.
- 22:34Pretty offensive.
- 22:38Honestly, in the end, I will just say that.
- 22:41That's interesting.
- 22:43This message was laced with a different kind of bomb.
- 22:47F bombs threatening the life of the detective, which is a bold move, not a smart one, but
- 22:59it's, that is a choice.
- 23:02Just threatening all around town, damn.
- 23:06Then just two days later, Jack's girlfriend's mom happens to be on the phone with the detective
- 23:14as she's sorting the family's mail.
- 23:18And suddenly she says, oh my god, which is never a great sign unless it's like, oh my god,
- 23:26look, someone sent us like a shit load of money.
- 23:29Oh my god, look at that fruit basket.
- 23:33It was a letter describing the bombing of Barry Hornstein and bearing further threats.
- 23:41I'm going to read to you a small snippet from this letter.
- 23:46Okay.
- 23:49This is to let you know that Jack Hornstein is a marked man.
- 23:55I don't want your daughter to get hurt, but what happens will happen.
- 24:00Geez.
- 24:01Yeah.
- 24:02So, Jack is the real target, but I really don't care if something bad happens to your daughter.
- 24:10Yeah.
- 24:12Like ruthless.
- 24:16Following this latest threat, the Hornstein sent Jack to stay with his uncle in Seattle.
- 24:24And unfortunately, his girlfriend's mom forced them to break things off at this point.
- 24:31She said, I am not letting you put your life at risk.
- 24:37And you and Jack are officially broken up.
- 24:41I mean, that makes sense.
- 24:42Did they actually break up though?
- 24:45Can they just be long distance?
- 24:47They were already long distance.
- 24:48Yeah.
- 24:49They're not around each other.
- 24:50I doubt this person would bomb her if he's not there.
- 24:54If he's the target.
- 24:55If he is the target.
- 24:56I, you know, overprotective though, I get it.
- 24:59I mean, in this case, I would, I can't even say that this feels like it's overprotective.
- 25:05I feel like probably about the right amount of protective.
- 25:10Of course, Jack told his girlfriend that he was leaving for Seattle.
- 25:17Oh, okay.
- 25:20Because he missed her and his whole world has revolved around emails and phone calls to her
- 25:27whenever they're apart.
- 25:29And up to this point, they actually only saw each other, like, once every other month.
- 25:36Wow.
- 25:37I know.
- 25:38Such sweet wholesome high school.
- 25:41I know.
- 25:44It's just two days later that he receives an email from an address he doesn't know.
- 25:51That seems to indicate the sender is aware of his travel plans.
- 25:57Interesting.
- 25:59Outside the Hornstein family, Jack's girlfriend was the only person that knew about the plans.
- 26:06Hmm.
- 26:08That same email address that sent this latest message was sent by one used in the disparaging
- 26:15campaign against Jack mere weeks ago.
- 26:19The flyers?
- 26:20Yep.
- 26:21Gotcha.
- 26:22His girlfriend's friends began receiving emails with damaging statements about Jack.
- 26:29Around this time.
- 26:31And the police attempted to track the emails both that Jack and his girlfriend's friends
- 26:38were receiving messages were traced to Emory and Port Orchard, Washington and even Florida
- 26:47state.
- 26:48Oh, that's terrifying.
- 26:50Yeah.
- 26:51What year was this?
- 26:53Yeah.
- 26:54It was around this time that the grim reaper, aka William Law, from the PPP, hopped in his
- 27:03car and paid a man up north of visit.
- 27:09Santa?
- 27:10No.
- 27:11Not that far north.
- 27:12Oh, okay.
- 27:13Not quite.
- 27:14Timothy Michael Goff would become a suspect when his credit card was linked to the messages.
- 27:24He was an organ native in his 40s, having graduated from Malala High School in the late 70s.
- 27:33He'd been married and had a daughter who was in her early 20s.
- 27:38And he and his wife had built a quarter million dollar home in Spokane.
- 27:42Damn.
- 27:43Which is a pretty nice house in the early 2000s.
- 27:47Yeah.
- 27:48I want one.
- 27:49I know, right?
- 27:50Like, all day, like a quarter of a million dollar house right now.
- 27:53I mean, it would basically be a shed, but yeah.
- 27:59Inflation, am I right?
- 28:02By the time investigators came knocking, he and his wife had separated.
- 28:07He had also relocated to Port Orchard, Washington, which lies in the Puget Sound area very close
- 28:16to Canada.
- 28:18Very far north.
- 28:20Very far north.
- 28:21That's to the north pole.
- 28:25Practically to the north pole.
- 28:26Yeah.
- 28:27That's why you put the red on.
- 28:29For saying that.
- 28:31For saying that.
- 28:32Yep.
- 28:33Timothy had found lucrative work as a pipe fitter.
- 28:38Pipe fitter.
- 28:40Interesting.
- 28:41Yeah.
- 28:42Really interesting job.
- 28:47You must come across a lot of spare pipes.
- 28:50Actually he does.
- 28:51Yeah.
- 28:52Got a lot of access to pipes.
- 28:55Timothy's brother was a Portland city planner, which sounds a lot less interesting than a pipe
- 29:02fitter.
- 29:03He claimed to have met Jack's girlfriend in an online chat room.
- 29:09One publication said, and I quote, "The bearded, stalky, former Portlander admitted
- 29:17trading emails with her," but said, "That was their only contact."
- 29:22Was that a lie?
- 29:25I mean, it wasn't the truth.
- 29:30We all know that the truth is better than a lie.
- 29:35That's a quote.
- 29:36Don't you forget it.
- 29:38What's that from?
- 29:40The Gettysburg address?
- 29:42Apparently, that wasn't the most believable story.
- 29:47Law enforcement.
- 29:49They were like, I don't know.
- 29:52That actually smells like horseshit.
- 29:56And they were issued a search warrant on site.
- 30:01They wanted to go in, have a little, little look see around.
- 30:05And he was like, I think you need a warrant for that.
- 30:07And they were like, okay, hold my beer.
- 30:09Yeah.
- 30:10Yeah.
- 30:11I mean, they weren't drinking beer.
- 30:15I don't think so.
- 30:16I don't think so.
- 30:17I feel like that might make their investigation invalid.
- 30:20Yeah, I think that would cause some complications.
- 30:22Yeah.
- 30:23Correct.
- 30:24Anyways, once they got inside, a good friend Tim here.
- 30:29He had pipe fitting equipment, which, you know, par for the course for pipe fitter, keeps
- 30:35him in his briefcase.
- 30:37Yeah.
- 30:38The sophisticated computer set up, though a slightly more damning discovery within his
- 30:45home, was the slip of paper with the Hornstein family's address in his wallet.
- 30:53Huh.
- 30:54Why would he need that?
- 30:56That's pretty weird.
- 30:57Yeah.
- 30:58Two tapes were located under his bed.
- 31:02And they would prove to be the most disgusting and damning items police would take into
- 31:07evidence.
- 31:08Tapes?
- 31:09Yep.
- 31:10Like videotapes.
- 31:11Oh.
- 31:12Yeah.
- 31:13That makes me uncomfortable.
- 31:16It's gonna be real uncomfortable.
- 31:19If you find it under your bed, it's nothing good.
- 31:22Historically, no.
- 31:24No.
- 31:26These were child sex abuse materials that showed him performing sex acts with a minor, with
- 31:36one in particular.
- 31:40None other than Jack's girlfriend.
- 31:43Oh.
- 31:46Oh.
- 31:48Investigators called, and I'm omitting their names here, because the names that are used
- 31:54in all of the source material are fake anyway.
- 31:56Oh, okay.
- 31:57Um, Taylor called the girlfriend and her mother into the police station and told the girl
- 32:03that he knew she'd had a AirBunny's relationship with the man they were investigating in connection
- 32:15with the bombing and revealed that he was now their prime suspect in the case.
- 32:24For her part, Jack's girlfriend told police, she'd broken up with him in April 2000, explaining
- 32:33that Tim had stronger feelings for me than I had for him.
- 32:41Can you see who's like in his 40s or he's like, "Yep.
- 32:45To be clear, this was not a relationship and you can't break up with an abuser in a situation
- 32:52like this for that very reason.
- 32:55This is not a breakup.
- 32:58You were not in a relationship."
- 33:00Oh.
- 33:01That's awful.
- 33:03She was 14 when they met.
- 33:10I just want to get out of my skin right now.
- 33:14Yeah.
- 33:15Yeah.
- 33:16Additional evidence was found that linked him to the bombings.
- 33:23Evidence strongly indicating that he was behind the campaign of threats against Jack, as
- 33:30well as the bombs left in Kennewick and Laurel Hurst, obviously.
- 33:35In his wallet, they found that note, but they also found additional notes suggesting that
- 33:42he was tracking not only Jack Hornstein, but his girlfriend and her family.
- 33:49Yeah.
- 33:50It's pretty deeply unhinged.
- 33:54So his jealousy is like the root of all of this, basically?
- 33:58Kind of sounds like it.
- 34:00What a way to win a woman back, you know?
- 34:02Yeah.
- 34:03Just blow up her current boyfriend.
- 34:05I'm sorry.
- 34:06I should have said a child.
- 34:07Mm-hmm.
- 34:08Jesus Christ.
- 34:09Yeah.
- 34:10She is literally a child.
- 34:15His own daughter was almost a decade older.
- 34:19Yeah.
- 34:20Okay.
- 34:21I'm so glad that you bought me that pin.
- 34:28What?
- 34:29The Minotrash one.
- 34:30Oh, it was like what pin.
- 34:31I'm not.
- 34:32I think about it all the time.
- 34:33The brain isn't working.
- 34:34Yeah.
- 34:35You should find it and put it out.
- 34:38All right.
- 34:39You're like, I know right word.
- 34:41Oh, I know.
- 34:42Hey, listen.
- 34:44Minotrash all the damn time.
- 34:47So you got to keep these things out the ready.
- 34:51The notes that Timothy had sent to a metric, fucked out of people that knew Jack, particularly
- 35:01the ones that were sent to his girlfriend's mom and to Jack's parents.
- 35:08They'd been designed obviously to put a halt to their relationship.
- 35:13Mm-hmm.
- 35:14That makes sense.
- 35:15One note read.
- 35:17You would think you could find some nice girl your own age instead of messing around with
- 35:25little girls that don't know better and listen to your lies.
- 35:30But crazy guy wrote that.
- 35:32Yep.
- 35:33Yeah, because Jack was a whopping two years older than his girlfriend.
- 35:40Yeah.
- 35:41Pot calling the kettle.
- 35:43Anyone?
- 35:44Like what?
- 35:45I-- how delusional are these fucking people?
- 35:51Yeah.
- 35:52Seriously.
- 35:53I mean, just completely delulu.
- 35:58Later in court, Tim's legal counsel, victim blamed the young girl, because she is literally
- 36:06a child.
- 36:07She's definitely a girl saying that she had seduced him.
- 36:14He was recently separated and going through a midlife crisis.
- 36:19It's just-- oh, I'm-- I'm sorry, sir.
- 36:24You're now a middle-aged fuck up in more than one aspect of life.
- 36:30Well, sure.
- 36:31It's totally reasonable to ease your clearly significant pain by forming a predatory and
- 36:39legally speaking, non-consensual relationship with a child.
- 36:46I just--
- 36:47Did the poor wires came up with that?
- 36:52Yeah, they basically were saying, well, I mean, it's all her fault.
- 36:55Did you see what she was wearing?
- 36:56I feel like the judge should just be like, OK, I object.
- 37:01You're done.
- 37:02You're done.
- 37:03It's the fuck down.
- 37:04I don't know that that was even a part of the courtroom piece of it.
- 37:08This was actually a statement I think that he made to the press, which is somehow kind of
- 37:17in a way, like almost worse.
- 37:19Yeah.
- 37:20I don't know.
- 37:21I hate it.
- 37:22I hate it.
- 37:23So yeah, we'll give you a slap on the wrist for appearances and then get you back on the
- 37:29field so you can try to recapture the glory days of your youth.
- 37:33And just actually pretty much what happened.
- 37:39He was sentenced to 26 months in relation to the sexual assault to raping a child.
- 37:52Repeatedly raping a child, he was sentenced to 26 months.
- 37:57The attempted murder case wasn't going so smoothly by comparison.
- 38:01So, and since I'm not altogether pleased with the legal proceedings for the child sex
- 38:10abuse case in Washington, that's really saying something.
- 38:14A local paper stated interviews as well as a 520 page police file from a parallel out of
- 38:22town investigation of the suspected bomber provide rare insight into a mystery involving
- 38:30sex, lies, videotape and chat rooms.
- 38:34As well as damning evidence that 12 Portland jurors may never be allowed to see.
- 38:42Of course not.
- 38:44The evidence taken from his apartment, bomb making information and schematics found on
- 38:51his computer's hard drive.
- 38:54Studies of numerous threatening letters as well as the note written in Spanish would prove
- 39:02a sticky situation for the case.
- 39:06Law enforcement had not specifically listed his computer or hard drive on the search warrant.
- 39:13So they were afraid that they wouldn't be able to use it because they'd found this evidence
- 39:21while searching for other items.
- 39:25By August of 2003, the trial related to the pipe bombs and his attack on Barry was approaching
- 39:32in Portland.
- 39:35His attorneys filed a motion to exclude on the grounds that the information had not been
- 39:40legally acquired or it was illegally obtained or obtained in an illegal search and seizure.
- 39:51Given these circumstances, the prosecution must not have liked their odds so they offered
- 39:57him a deal.
- 39:59Because basically without any of that evidence that came from his computer hard drive, they
- 40:04were royally fucked.
- 40:07Seven ways to Sunday.
- 40:10Though he was charged with attempted aggravated murder, assault, arson and the manufacture and
- 40:18possession of a destructive device in Portland, I think it was a rather generous offer on their
- 40:25part.
- 40:27The plea deal would require him to plead guilty to two counts of attempted murder, after
- 40:34which the prosecution would agree to dropping the 14 additional charges.
- 40:412 out of 16.
- 40:47He took the deal, which came with a reduced sentence of 12 years instead of the roughly 20 to
- 40:5530 additional years that he may have otherwise faced based on the charges.
- 41:02Barry was glad to put the case behind.
- 41:06Yeah.
- 41:07How long did you say how long it took?
- 41:11I mean, this was like a couple of years by the time they got to sentencing and everything.
- 41:17So I mean, these are never a short.
- 41:22Yeah.
- 41:23I mean, this is going to tie up your life for a minute.
- 41:29All while he's trying to heal from a literal amputation and probably has to learn how to walk
- 41:34again and getting prosthetics, which he did.
- 41:40Which is awesome.
- 41:42Yeah.
- 41:44Barry had, for the most part, really already started to adjust to his new life.
- 41:51He said he missed walking on the beach, which was really one of the only things that he
- 41:56couldn't really quite do anymore.
- 42:02But he felt that it was good alternative to dying.
- 42:08Oh, Barry and Kathy were able to reconcile despite the tragic circumstances and trying times
- 42:19that they had faced.
- 42:22Barry passed away in 2022 at 81 years old.
- 42:28Wow.
- 42:30And I'll leave you with some of his parting words from one of the mini-docs that I watched
- 42:35about this case.
- 42:38My family isn't attacked.
- 42:40My son wasn't killed.
- 42:42It could have been him.
- 42:44I only lost a leg.
- 42:47It's a pretty cheap price to pay.
- 42:49A leg to get back your life again with your wife.
- 42:53Wow.
- 42:54That's crazy.
- 42:57I was absolutely sobbing just.
- 43:02I'm a bleak friend watching.
- 43:07To be able to go through that and still have that positive mindset, it reminds me of Ralph.
- 43:13It reminds me of Ralph.
- 43:17I totally thought when you said gambling, this was going to be a mob thing.
- 43:22I know.
- 43:23They walked into it.
- 43:25They walked into it.
- 43:29The IRA.
- 43:31Kind of the wrong continent.
- 43:34Yeah.
- 43:38I do have a few little update and just some where they now.
- 43:43Stuff for the Patreon that it didn't quite fit into kind of our regular episode.
- 43:51But I really wanted to share because, I'm going to cry again when I read that.
- 43:57I'm going to cry again when I read that stuff.
- 44:02If you want to see me cry like a baby again, after we do our tarot, that's, you know where
- 44:09to find it.
- 44:12Yeah.
- 44:14This case was a fucking lot.
- 44:17It's, yeah.
- 44:19It's just like so unexpected.
- 44:21Yeah.
- 44:22So at first you're like, oh, it's Jack's fault.
- 44:26Not like it's his fault.
- 44:27But like he's the target.
- 44:28You know, like, what did he do?
- 44:31Right.
- 44:32It's like totally like nothing to do with any of his family.
- 44:36No, not at all.
- 44:37He didn't do anything for, don't date a girl who got abused.
- 44:43It's crazy.
- 44:44Yeah.
- 44:45And broke up with, broke up with her abuser and then became the target for just, I mean, the
- 44:54most nonsensical and horrific violent attacks.
- 44:59And just how can you imagine as a 17 year old kid, somebody starts emailing all of your peers,
- 45:07telling them to post these fucking horrible defamatory like posters all around town about how
- 45:15you're a rapist.
- 45:16That's awful.
- 45:18And then they try to kill you, but instead they harm your dad.
- 45:24And I mean, just the, and the mind games of like the fact that he was getting information
- 45:31from the girlfriend.
- 45:33Yeah.
- 45:34That's how he was able to totally fuck with this whole family's head.
- 45:39When they were going to send him to Seattle, they were like, oh shit.
- 45:43Like, well, like, like, have we been hacked?
- 45:48Or like, is it Jack's girlfriend?
- 45:50Like, you just feel like there's no one you can trust.
- 45:54Right?
- 45:56I can't.
- 45:57I cannot even wrap my head around with that.
- 46:02It's just, I just, I have no words.
- 46:08I literally have no words.
- 46:09This happens a lot.
- 46:11Yeah.
- 46:12It's just so gross.
- 46:15Humans.
- 46:16Yeah.
- 46:17You know what would make me feel better?
- 46:19I think I do, but I want you to say, just, I don't know.
- 46:23Maybe if we like just did like a little bit of tarot.
- 46:27Tarot?
- 46:28Yeah.
- 46:29What do you guys think?
- 46:30Wouldn't make you feel better?
- 46:31I hope so for God's sake.
- 46:33I mean, we might get an icky card, but all right.

- 47:11Fucking sharks ate Mark under the dinghy.
- 47:16After his dad dies, he fucking marries all his dad's lives.

- 47:33You guys were back.
- 47:35And don't worry, we did get more wine.
- 47:38Well, of course.
- 47:42And you went right for the middle two days in a row.
- 48:00King of “Peentacles" reverse.
- 48:04“Peentacles", huh?
- 48:05Pentacles.
- 48:06Do you want me to read what's on this card?
- 48:08Yeah.
- 48:09Okay.
- 48:10Proverbs.
- 48:11Financially inept stubborn greed, indulgence, sensuality.
- 48:20Hate that.
- 48:21Awful.
- 48:22Should I read the other things on here?
- 48:25Sure.
- 48:26Numerology is 14 and 5.
- 48:29What does that mean?
- 48:31Interesting.
- 48:32Okay.
- 48:33King of Pentacles.
- 48:34Why would it be 14 and a 5?
- 48:36We need you to tell us more.
- 48:38Tell us more.
- 48:40Taurus Virgo Capricorn.
- 48:44And then we have Earth is the element.
- 48:48Some other symbol I don't know, and it says 4 again.
- 48:51Okay.
- 48:52Oh, where it is.
- 48:54All right.
- 48:55I'm going to read you the keywords here from our Hended Andy Book.
- 49:00Keywords are security, material success, pragmatism, stability, strength, and worldly power.
- 49:09Flopped.
- 49:12In many decks, this king sits on a throne and plays.
- 49:16Oh, I'm sorry.
- 49:17Yeah.
- 49:18I see.
- 49:19See you there.
- 49:21It all ties together.
- 49:24It all ties together.
- 49:26Yeah.
- 49:27In many decks, this king sits on a throne and wears rich garments and a crown.
- 49:34Because he appears with a bowl, symbol of strength, virility, and tenacity.
- 49:40You mess with the bowl.
- 49:42Get the horse.
- 49:43No thanks.
- 49:46In a reading, he may represent an actual person.
- 49:50In which case, he's usually a mature man who exercises worldly power and authority.
- 49:58Probably abuses his power.
- 49:59I'm going to say.
- 50:02When reversed, the king of pentacles indicates sluggish-nish.
- 50:08Sluggish-nish.
- 50:11Delays and/or obstacles to material success.
- 50:14I don't know.
- 50:1612 to 14 years in prison, roughly.
- 50:20Tim?
- 50:21Timmy?
- 50:22Timmy?
- 50:23Sometimes it shows low energy or insecurity.
- 50:26Hmm.
- 50:27I'm very insecure.
- 50:29Weird.
- 50:31You feel stuck, but don't have to drive to get out of your rut.
- 50:34You just want to blow other people up.
- 50:37Hmm.
- 50:38If the card represents, oh my god.
- 50:40If the card represents an actual person, he may be mercenary, course, dull, witted, or even
- 50:48corrupt.
- 50:49What's mercenary mean?
- 50:51I mean, I always think of mercenaries.
- 50:54Like, they're like people that get sent in.
- 50:56It's like black ops and they just, you know, fuck shit up places.
- 51:00You probably fuck some shit up.
- 51:02I mean, he did fuck to your love, sorry.
- 51:05Mercenaries and bombs.
- 51:07Like, there you go.
- 51:09In a reading about money, your finances are stagnant.
- 51:13You might even incur losses because your stuck in old patterns and have resisted making
- 51:20changes.
- 51:21Ooh.
- 51:22You're worried about money and/or don't handle your resource as well.
- 51:26Okay, short.
- 51:27I mean, what's that about?
- 51:29Very.
- 51:30Hmm.
- 51:31Perhaps?
- 51:32Yeah.
- 51:33If the reading is about your job, the king reversed may mean your board with your work but
- 51:38can't find something better.
- 51:42Perhaps you've sacrificed your passion for security.
- 51:46Or your job may be in jeopardy and you feel insecure.
- 51:49Just a lot of insecurity.
- 51:52Hmm.
- 51:53Interesting.
- 51:54In a reading about love, a relationship may offer stability, but little excitement
- 52:00or romance, routine or responsibility may drain your vitality.
- 52:06Perhaps you feel stuck in a relationship for financial reasons.
- 52:10That makes me think of like, I'm thinking of specifically what they were saying about
- 52:15him.
- 52:16He's having a midlife crisis, you know, so he just had to fuck a teenager.
- 52:20Yeah.
- 52:21Which is so gross.
- 52:24No.
- 52:25I just.
- 52:26I can't.
- 52:27Like, I get it.
- 52:29It's your job to defend this man.
- 52:31But like, you go get a motorcycle and crash it like every other middle aged white man.
- 52:38Seriously.
- 52:39Do you have to put it like that?
- 52:40I mean, the actual quote was so much grosser.
- 52:44It goes on and it is gnarly.
- 52:48It is so gross.
- 52:51Yeah.
- 52:52Yeah.
- 52:53I was like, I, nope.
- 52:55Thank you for not reading it all.
- 52:57Yeah, I didn't think I could physically.
- 52:59I felt that that was at the outer limits of, you can find it in the source material.
- 53:07Yeah.
- 53:08You go to that.
- 53:09I'm not going to do that.
- 53:10I'm disturbed enough.
- 53:13Yes.
- 53:14Wow.
- 53:15Yeah.
- 53:16I feel like this one's calling to me.
- 53:20Is it calling to you?
- 53:21I mean, it's sticking out.
- 53:22Yeah.
- 53:23Get her.
- 53:24Get her.
- 53:25It's the full.
- 53:27That's why.
- 53:29Oh, get me.
- 53:30Oh, weird.
- 53:31Your card was calling to you.
- 53:34Why would it not be?
- 53:36But it's interesting.
- 53:37It wasn't reversed.
- 53:38So that seems like it could fit.
- 53:40Let me see.
- 53:41The fee will.
- 53:42That fee.
- 53:43Navite, lack of direction, chaos, recklessness, stupidity.
- 53:51I mean, do I need to read the full interpretation of this point?
- 53:56No.
- 53:57I mean, I don't think you do, but there's some fun stuff in there, maybe.
- 54:00Yeah.
- 54:01OK.
- 54:02So in the reverse, if the fool is reversed, you may feel restless and bored, eager to try something
- 54:10new, but now it's probably not the right time to act.
- 54:14Probably never.
- 54:16I think of this as the don't quit your day job card.
- 54:22This works.
- 54:23Oh, my God.
- 54:25Oh, my God.
- 54:27It's all about like very bad decisions being kind of similar.
- 54:31Yeah.
- 54:32Don't do this hastily.
- 54:34Gather information.
- 54:36Oh, boy.
- 54:37OK.
- 54:38In a reading about love, this card can warn you to look more closely at a partner or relationship.
- 54:45Things may not be where you think the reverse fool may also indicate the end of a relationship
- 54:51and greater freedom as a result.
- 54:53Yeah.
- 54:54Take the freedom.
- 54:55Like, leave this kid alone.
- 54:58Yeah.
- 54:59Or, oh, my God.
- 55:00So many things.
- 55:01Think before you act, however, for you might regret a breakup undertaken hastily or I
- 55:07don't know, the revenge you take as a result of a breakup.
- 55:12It's funny that it says that it really is.
- 55:17Yeah.
- 55:18I mean, I mean, it's the epitome of stupidity.
- 55:23Oh, I like that.
- 55:25I should put it on a t-shirt.
- 55:26Yeah, you really should.
- 55:29If you loved listening to that Tiro read and want to see it, become a member of our Patreon

- 55:46Not really spoilers.
- 55:47It's more of a, where are they now?
- 55:50I'm so excited to see you cry again.
- 55:52Yay.
- 55:53Yay.
- 55:54You're going to cry too.
- 55:57I know.
- 55:58I almost did this time, but I like held it back pretty good.
- 56:01Yeah.
- 56:02No, it's all going to be like kind of like that.
- 56:05Happy cry.
- 56:06Oh, I'm going to get you.
- 56:07Like with Ralphie.
- 56:08Yeah.
- 56:09Kind of.
- 56:10Ralphie June.
- 56:11Ralphie June.
- 56:12If you can't support us monetarily, no worries, because the easiest ways to support, they're

- 56:22Like you can tell everyone, anyone, all of the people that you ever, ever, ever see, anyone
- 56:28that you come into contact with about us, which would be great.
- 56:33And while you're at it, leave us a five star review on any platform you can.
- 56:39But also Apple, because they're kind of the boss.
- 56:42Yeah.
- 56:43But also on that note, don't tell any creepy ex-boyfriends about us.
- 56:47Oh, yeah.
- 56:48That's great.
- 56:49Yeah.
- 56:50Even if you come across them, like don't tell those people.
- 56:51Yeah, just do us a solid.
- 56:52Yeah.
- 56:53And if you have any true crime, paranormal, or witchy stories to submit for our listener
- 56:58appreciation episodes, we call them the creepy people chronicles, because we just like
- 57:04those words together.
- 57:05We do.
- 57:06It's so much fun.
- 57:07It's a cup.
- 57:08Yeah.
- 57:09Please email them to us at pnwhauntsandhomicides@gmail.com, or you can use our handy dandy little link
- 57:20to the Google contact form in the episode description.
- 57:23Yeah.
- 57:24We've made it really difficult for you to somehow miss.
- 57:28Yeah.
- 57:29And we do need more stories.
- 57:30So like, yeah, send them in.
- 57:32Just like whenever you're ready.
- 57:35Preferably now.
- 57:36We do want to hear them and we want to read them, but if you don't want us to read them,
- 57:40let us know.
- 57:41We'll still read your stories to ourselves, but if you don't want them public, that's fine.
- 57:50Or we can change names, because you can always remain anonymous.
- 57:55And remember, they don't have to be from the Pacific Northwest if you want to share.
- 58:01And then we can just read your stories from wherever the fuck all of the creepy, creepy, creepy
- 58:06shit is happening around you.
- 58:09Yeah.
- 58:10I really want some like Ireland stories, you know?
- 58:13I've just been thinking about it a lot, and I just want some good, creepy stories from Ireland.
- 58:18So send them.
- 58:20Yeah.
- 58:21I just keep thinking that I used to tell people all of these like far thrown places that
- 58:28I wanted to have stories from and now I'm like, what if I want to go there on my honeymoon?
- 58:35I haven't decided yet.
- 58:37So okay, well, don't send any stories about any honeymoon destinations until after Caitlin
- 58:43goes on her.
- 58:44Yeah.
- 58:45Bad news about that.
- 58:47I've actually found multiple super murdery wedding/honeymoon stories.
- 58:55And I'm going to work on at least one of them.
- 58:58Why would you do that to yourself?
- 59:00Because I am a sadist.
- 59:02Oh my god.
- 59:03I guess.
- 59:04I don't know.
- 59:05Is that sadist or am I a masochist or?
- 59:08I am unwell.
- 59:10She is.
- 59:11Yes.
- 59:12And if you want to see us both be very unwell, you can follow us on all the socials.
- 59:18That's the number one place to see it.
- 59:20We have TikToks.

- 59:28You can see it.
- 59:29Right.
- 59:30Yeah.
- 59:31Right.
- 59:32Wait, is it on Instagram?
- 59:35It's basically Instagram.
- 59:37It's like the tweeters of Instagram.
- 59:39I just ignore it.
- 59:40It's all confusing to me.
- 59:41Yeah, I know.
- 59:43You can find our link tree or our website with links to all of those things. www.pnwhauntsandhomicides.com

- 1:00:00Just don't even just don't just don't and if someone breaks up with you, take the fucking
- 1:00:05hit.
- 1:00:06Yeah, maybe it means they don't like you.
- 1:00:09They're just they're just not that into you, you know?
- 1:00:12Yeah.
- 1:00:13Watch that movie.
- 1:00:14Yeah.
- 1:00:15It's great.
- 1:00:16Yeah.
- 1:00:17I mean, it kind of makes sense because like when you're dating a 14 year old, they just,
- 1:00:22you know, the attention span can be a little lacking.
- 1:00:25Yeah.
- 1:00:26Yeah.
- 1:00:27Yeah.
- 1:00:28Okay.
- 1:00:29We got to go.
- 1:00:30Yeah.

- 1:00:39I need to be a pipe.
- 1:00:40You say a pipe cleaner?

- 1:00:42It's a pipe cleaner.
- 1:00:43Yeah.
- 1:00:44I need to be a pipe.
- 1:00:45I need to be a pipe cleaner.
