- 0:00Speaker 1: And Joelle's not here? Is she Joelle again? You know? Donald?
- 0:04Speaker 1: At a certain point, Donald, we got to start to
- 0:06Speaker 1: worry about losing Joel because it's the first show with
- 0:10Speaker 1: the new year, and where's Joel. She's getting bangs with
- 0:13Speaker 1: Zoe right now as we speak. I think we already
- 0:16Speaker 1: lost her, bro I mean, Joel would never be late
- 0:20Speaker 1: before this Zoe Deschanelle show came along. And now where
- 0:24Speaker 1: she's in another meeting apparently, yeah, another meeting. She isn't
- 0:28Speaker 1: need in another meeting. I can promise you it's not
- 0:30Speaker 1: with Zoe. That's all gonna say. I know that doesn't
- 0:32Speaker 1: help my narrative, Chanel, I'll cut that out, but doesn't
- 0:35Speaker 1: serve my narrative. Chanel. Hey buddy, how are you, sir? Oh?
- 0:40Speaker 1: I missed you? So did you? Because I've seen you
- 0:43Speaker 1: a couple of times in this Well, it doesn't matter,
- 0:46Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter, just doesn't even
- 0:50Speaker 1: if we win, and even if we win, oh god,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I wonder if anyone else gets that reference as someone
- 0:56Speaker 1: our age, will I feel also young to get that reference?
- 1:00Speaker 1: You know the movie Danil No, actually I don't. I
- 1:02Speaker 1: didn't think you would. It's an amazing movie and very
- 1:05Speaker 1: early in Bill Murray's career called Meatballs Are Get Ready
- 1:11Speaker 1: for the Summer, and you did. It. Was about to say,
- 1:15Speaker 1: pitt SuDS help parents to show it to their kids,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but I don't know if it's still um now you
- 1:19Speaker 1: know what it's if you watch it, it's not as uh,
- 1:24Speaker 1: there's teenage stuff in it and stuff like that, but
- 1:26Speaker 1: there's no nudity, there's no cursing. In me. I love it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I remember being a great I mean it's for teen
- 1:33Speaker 1: I think you can show your teenage kid. Yeah, it's
- 1:35Speaker 1: for teenagers. But it's like Bill Murray one of his
- 1:38Speaker 1: first movies off SNL that wasn't just um a comedy.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It is a comedy, but it also has heartwarming stuff
- 1:45Speaker 1: in it. He's like a mentor to this kid at camp.
- 1:48Speaker 1: He's a camp counselor. Actually he's like the head of
- 1:50Speaker 1: camp counselors at the Yeah, and he's hilarious in it. Yeah. Um,
- 1:54Speaker 1: it's great, and but the movie's mostly about the kids.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't want you to go thinking that this is
- 1:59Speaker 1: a Bill Murray. Maybe maybe I'm remembering a different movie.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I mean, we have we spoken about this because I
- 2:03Speaker 1: told you that Meatballs Too is the worst sequel that's
- 2:07Speaker 1: ever been made of any movie of all time. Ted,
- 2:10Speaker 1: because ET had come out, did we talk about this?
- 2:13Speaker 1: I know, he told, oh, yeah, because I went on
- 2:15Speaker 1: Brett Goldstein's podcast and and he wanted me to say
- 2:18Speaker 1: a movie I hated, and I was, you know, I
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't like criticizing anybody's work, no matter what it is.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But but I had to pick a movie I thought
- 2:24Speaker 1: was just a mess, and so I I thought of
- 2:27Speaker 1: that alien that had been worked into the movie became
- 2:33Speaker 1: the star of the movie. That movie only because they
- 2:36Speaker 1: lost Bill Murray and it was at the same time
- 2:38Speaker 1: or the success of ET. And they were like, what
- 2:40Speaker 1: if there was an alien and he looked like ET? Right, Yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 1: and he looked like he looked like but they put
- 2:49Speaker 1: him in like a yellow trench Yeah, it was a yell.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It was either a trench coat or a raincoat. Yeah,
- 2:54Speaker 1: same the rain hat. Yeah. Anyway, Um, I missed you all.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'm hey listeners, Thank you for come back in. Happy
- 3:00Speaker 1: New Year to you all, Thank you for being here.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So much stuff has happened that I wanted to talk about.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But you know, I smoke a lot of marijuana. I
- 3:08Speaker 1: thought you were gonna not smoke marijuana today. Oh you're
- 3:10Speaker 1: just saying in the past, because so much marijuana that
- 3:15Speaker 1: my memory is gone. Like I had some really important
- 3:17Speaker 1: shit I wanted to discuss. You know, I think if
- 3:20Speaker 1: you're I think you owe it to your our audience,
- 3:23Speaker 1: if you're such a podhead to write these things down.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I started too, but then I lost the paper too,
- 3:28Speaker 1: so it was like, what am I writing it down
- 3:30Speaker 1: for if I can't find I'm sorry, audience, Just imagine
- 3:34Speaker 1: the funny things Donald would have for you. If some
- 3:37Speaker 1: of it was some of it was like heartfelt and heartwarming,
- 3:40Speaker 1: imagine all that heartwarming stuff. Guys, God sweed, not even
- 3:45Speaker 1: once wonderful. How have you been? We have so much stuff? Well,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I have to tell the audience. And you know, Daniel
- 3:54Speaker 1: probably doesn't know. I was so sick. I got strapped
- 3:56Speaker 1: through he got you got the real heart through the
- 3:58Speaker 1: Grape Vindal. So sorry, Donald and I were meant to
- 4:01Speaker 1: go to to Vegas for an iHeart event and it
- 4:04Speaker 1: was gonna be so much fun, and it was and
- 4:07Speaker 1: I I couldn't go. Donald went and represented on his own.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Thank you, Donald, But man, I'm gonna tell you something
- 4:13Speaker 1: right now, Zach, because you were sick. You fucked up
- 4:17Speaker 1: the whole No, don't put that guilt on me, please, No.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But I got it, buddy, I got it because I
- 4:21Speaker 1: love you. And this is the only way it was
- 4:23Speaker 1: supposed to be the three of us. It was gonna
- 4:25Speaker 1: be usual, the usual, the usual suspects, and we were
- 4:30Speaker 1: gonna be in Vegas and we were gonna double down
- 4:32Speaker 1: on black Jack. Baby, you're gonna bet on black and Casey,
- 4:36Speaker 1: who never gets time away from the kids, was like,
- 4:38Speaker 1: we're going to Vegas. It's going down. And I had
- 4:42Speaker 1: to call them and be like, we gotta sitter and everything.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Zach calls and go and says, guys, I have strep.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But not only does he call and say he has strap,
- 4:51Speaker 1: he calls and says this the day before it was
- 4:53Speaker 1: supposed to leave. Well, what am I supposed to do?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I couldn't go. There was no You don't know how
- 4:56Speaker 1: sick it was. I've never had strep like this like
- 4:58Speaker 1: I was. I had to get a pis killer. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: get a legit pinkler to swallow this whole trip, this
- 5:04Speaker 1: whole trip. Zach had gone away for a bit. I
- 5:06Speaker 1: was doing whatever the fuck I was doing, and this
- 5:09Speaker 1: whole trip, we were talking to each other, like, keep
- 5:11Speaker 1: your nose clean, Vegas is coming, keep your nose clean,
- 5:14Speaker 1: keep your nose clean, keep your nose clean. Well, keep
- 5:19Speaker 1: your nose clean. I mean, don't do drugs. I didn't
- 5:21Speaker 1: do drugs. I just well, how did you get how
- 5:25Speaker 1: did how did you get it? To you a body?
- 5:27Speaker 1: But how did this? It wasn't like like so many
- 5:30Speaker 1: people through your nose, through your mouth. We keep no
- 5:34Speaker 1: matter where, no matter where you are these days, by
- 5:37Speaker 1: the way, these days, no matter where you are, you're impact.
- 5:40Speaker 1: If you're going on a vacation, you're in Pact restaurants
- 5:43Speaker 1: here in Pact bars. I was in a pack airport.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I must have been one of three people wearing a
- 5:47Speaker 1: mask at the fucking packed airport. And um, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: how are you not going to get something? So I
- 5:54Speaker 1: got the fucker. I really, honestly, in forty seven years
- 5:57Speaker 1: of existence, never had a strap throat like this. I
- 6:00Speaker 1: send you a picture Donald. My juvula was like like
- 6:03Speaker 1: an old man's balls resting on my tongue. Jesus, just
- 6:08Speaker 1: long and thick and pussy. Picture an old man's scrotum
- 6:17Speaker 1: and picture it pussy. Doesn't old man have pussy scrotum ball? No,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, add the pussy old man stereotypically, the balls
- 6:25Speaker 1: hang low because you know, they've had years of hanging,
- 6:28Speaker 1: so they hang low. Right, they've stretched out like it
- 6:31Speaker 1: like a like a like a tribal woman's ear lobe
- 6:34Speaker 1: after exactly the right. Yes, but I want you to
- 6:37Speaker 1: go back to the image of it. Listen, I want
- 6:40Speaker 1: the audience. I want the audience to really get this.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I want to picture an old man's I prefer to
- 6:45Speaker 1: picture something else. Well, I'm the audience. Just let the
- 6:49Speaker 1: audience hear this an old man's scrotum right, hanging low.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Not picture it pussy and red. Now picture it resting
- 7:00Speaker 1: on the back of my tongue. Oh man, it was
- 7:05Speaker 1: so bad, dude. The only thing I ate for a
- 7:09Speaker 1: week was pudding. Yum, My abs are gone. I had
- 7:12Speaker 1: pudding for dinner, breakfast, and lunch. Well anyway, So I
- 7:17Speaker 1: had to go to Vegas and represent. But the minute
- 7:20Speaker 1: that Zach said I'm not going to Vegas, my wife
- 7:23Speaker 1: was like, hey, you know what, I don't think I
- 7:24Speaker 1: want to go either. She's like, she was like, you know,
- 7:28Speaker 1: she said that you said that you said, no, no,
- 7:33Speaker 1: she could say whatever. She was trying to get in
- 7:35Speaker 1: the middle of this couple, even though I always do.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But she said that, you were like, oh, baby, now
- 7:39Speaker 1: it's just gonna be work. So no, that's what she said.
- 7:41Speaker 1: She's trying to throw it off. But she was like,
- 7:44Speaker 1: you know what, baby, now that you know Zack's not
- 7:47Speaker 1: going and you know Mark's not going, it's just gonna
- 7:50Speaker 1: be work for you. So I don't think I should go.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And I'm like, totally listen because she had a total
- 7:57Speaker 1: different version of that story whatever, and that's fine. So anyway,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'm so I agree. I'm like, all right, that fine,
- 8:02Speaker 1: you don't have to go. So now I'm in Vegas
- 8:05Speaker 1: hanging out with Will also, who's as Joel also had
- 8:12Speaker 1: strep throat too. She was supposed to go and somewhere
- 8:15Speaker 1: down the line she said I can't make it, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: so she's out also, So now it's just me Will
- 8:21Speaker 1: Pearson and Will Persons, for those of you don't know,
- 8:23Speaker 1: is the head of podcasts at I heeart right, Daniel,
- 8:26Speaker 1: But I mean sorry, oh it gets crazy, all right,
- 8:29Speaker 1: keep going right, and they're like, we're gonna fly you
- 8:32Speaker 1: out on the iHeart Jet, and I'm like, all right,
- 8:35Speaker 1: BETSH flew out on iHeart Jet got to Vegas? Did
- 8:40Speaker 1: you get a drink on the on the PJA. I
- 8:42Speaker 1: didn't get a drink on a PJA. That really, Why
- 8:44Speaker 1: don't you live it up? Because I'm trying to well,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we were trying to swim out. You were trying to
- 8:49Speaker 1: swim out this right, all right, I'm trying to anyway.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So you're talking to the CEO of I Heart You
- 8:54Speaker 1: didn't want to get it right. I don't want to
- 8:55Speaker 1: be that guy, right, So what did you guys talk about? Well,
- 8:59Speaker 1: the CEO isn't on the jet, right, so we get
- 9:02Speaker 1: there and he alone? Are you and Will? It's me
- 9:04Speaker 1: by myself on the I Heeart jet. You didn't tell
- 9:06Speaker 1: me that. Why didn't you spread out in order some
- 9:08Speaker 1: super lues there? Because there was no champagne. There was
- 9:11Speaker 1: fruit and the fruit. There was fruit. The fruit was delighted.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It was PJ. Well no, well there's still there's still
- 9:23Speaker 1: the pilot. If I was alone on a PJ, I
- 9:25Speaker 1: would have spread out. Would what do you guys got
- 9:29Speaker 1: in the bar? Yeah? That I was. I was there
- 9:33Speaker 1: to work and make It was definitely booze on the
- 9:36Speaker 1: iHeart PJ. There was no booze, so we land. There
- 9:39Speaker 1: was booze, but I wasn't drinking. So we land. We
- 9:44Speaker 1: get to the hotel and we start, you know, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, I got a little bit
- 9:48Speaker 1: of time before I got to do any of these events.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Let's go to the casino. Take some money out of
- 9:54Speaker 1: the ATM machine, takes a picture of it, and I
- 10:00Speaker 1: put it at you know. I go to the table
- 10:02Speaker 1: and I start to bet, and then I realized this
- 10:04Speaker 1: isn't fun anymore for me. Do you know when betting
- 10:07Speaker 1: is fun? People? This is when when it's paying your
- 10:11Speaker 1: motherfucking rent. That's when betting is the best. It's listen,
- 10:16Speaker 1: when when when when life as you know it is
- 10:19Speaker 1: on the line, Like remember in Swingers when they go
- 10:21Speaker 1: to Vegas and he's like this is blood money. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 1: that's when betting is the best. Other than that, you
- 10:28Speaker 1: just feel like you're giving money away to this casino.
- 10:31Speaker 1: So I was like, you know what, I don't want
- 10:33Speaker 1: to play. I don't want this part was wait, I
- 10:34Speaker 1: can't sway you my side of this, so don't don't
- 10:36Speaker 1: text me like picture of the money. He's pulled out
- 10:39Speaker 1: the ATM and I'm like, go bet some black chack,
- 10:42Speaker 1: go out fun. Just because you're there alone, you know.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I feel so bad by the way, but I'm like,
- 10:46Speaker 1: just because you're there alone, it doesn't mean you can't
- 10:48Speaker 1: make some fun, dude, Go play some blackjack, go do something.
- 10:52Speaker 1: And uh, he goes, I don't want to. I don't
- 10:54Speaker 1: want to risk this money. Like you know, I just
- 10:55Speaker 1: moved into a new house. I'm like, you know, we're
- 10:57Speaker 1: spending a lot of money on fix up the house.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And I go, bro, go have some fun with some
- 11:01Speaker 1: of your money. Go play with a couple thousand dollars
- 11:03Speaker 1: and just you know, that's you know, keep it capped
- 11:06Speaker 1: and don't be stupid. And he's like, you're right, You're right.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Two seconds later, I get a text from Casey. Well
- 11:12Speaker 1: there goes the fancy of and I wanted will you'll
- 11:17Speaker 1: be happy to know? And I'm like, and I'm like,
- 11:19Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Because it was so quick
- 11:21Speaker 1: it was literally like five Mississippi later, she's like, you
- 11:25Speaker 1: told Donald to gamble. I'm not getting that of And
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was looking at well, You'll be happy to know.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I did not spend the money. I didn't an I
- 11:37Speaker 1: did not lose an oven. I was not stupid, although
- 11:41Speaker 1: I did sit down with some lovely people and watch
- 11:43Speaker 1: them lose money. Uh, it's fun to watch other people
- 11:47Speaker 1: lose money. I remember watching his gut wrenching action we
- 11:50Speaker 1: first when we first went to Vegas with Bill and he,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, he was obviously already a very wealthy man.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I watched. I would watch him play blackjack with huge hands,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and I was like, wow, I've never seen this with
- 12:02Speaker 1: somebody I know. And he goes, yeah, like you know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you got it bet enough to make it hurt a little,
- 12:07Speaker 1: Like whatever, whatever, whatever level you're at, it's got to
- 12:10Speaker 1: hurt a little. And I was watching him hurt a little.
- 12:14Speaker 1: But it's fun. It's fun to watch somebody else play
- 12:17Speaker 1: like that. I have you ever watched like people play
- 12:18Speaker 1: with like I've seen that before. Yes, it's fun to watch.
- 12:23Speaker 1: It is fun to watch, and it's unbelievable that there
- 12:26Speaker 1: are people out there that have that type of min
- 12:27Speaker 1: I watched the dude playing with five thousand dollars chips
- 12:30Speaker 1: black yeah, and he was like stacking them. The chips
- 12:32Speaker 1: were brown, I remember, and he had a bunch of them.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I was like, wow, I've never seen it, and he
- 12:38Speaker 1: didn't share with anyone. He didn't care. I mean, think,
- 12:41Speaker 1: how watched that dude? This is like this is just
- 12:42Speaker 1: but then but then again, by your logic, like that's
- 12:45Speaker 1: his for him to have fun playing blackjack and make
- 12:48Speaker 1: it quote unquote hurt a little bit. He's got to
- 12:50Speaker 1: be fucking around with that level of money. So this
- 12:52Speaker 1: was the best part about Well, there's a bunch of
- 12:54Speaker 1: best parts that we'll get into, the iHeart side of
- 12:56Speaker 1: things and everything, but here was a great part. So
- 12:58Speaker 1: I finished all of my stuff that I had to
- 13:00Speaker 1: do with iHeart and and I'm on that I don't
- 13:02Speaker 1: want to spend any money shit. And I go down
- 13:05Speaker 1: to the casino lobby, you know where the blackjack table is,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and I see a guy there that was there earlier,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and he has way more chips than he had earlier,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and he's like, hey, come sit down and join me.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm not betting. He's like, here, play with this,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and he puts five hundred dollars in front of me,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and I'm like what He's like, just play with this.
- 13:24Speaker 1: That's so awkward because you're like that's a nice gesture, sir,
- 13:27Speaker 1: But I'm gonna if I lose your money, I'm gonna
- 13:28Speaker 1: feel weird, right. And he's like, oh, don't worry about it,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, sure fine, I'm like it. So
- 13:33Speaker 1: i'm my mind. I'm like, I don't want to be
- 13:34Speaker 1: a dick. This dude, just like somebody offering you a
- 13:36Speaker 1: drink and you being like, no, I'm not taking that drink,
- 13:39Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I sit down at
- 13:40Speaker 1: the table and I play and I get that thing
- 13:43Speaker 1: up to a thousand dollars and I turned to him
- 13:46Speaker 1: and I go, here you go, sir, I doubled your money.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'm out and he goes, no, no, no, no, no, no no,
- 13:51Speaker 1: keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it. And I'm
- 13:53Speaker 1: like the whole thing, it's one thing to pay him
- 13:54Speaker 1: off and keep the winnings. He wouldn't take the five
- 13:57Speaker 1: I gave him all. I was trying to give him
- 14:00Speaker 1: it all back. He's like, keep it, keep it right,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and he's like no, no, no, no, keep it because
- 14:06Speaker 1: you know you bring me luck. Where we're sitting down.
- 14:08Speaker 1: When he said that, I'm like, oh my god, is
- 14:10Speaker 1: this one of those who's that movie where Robert Redford
- 14:14Speaker 1: sleeps with Demi Moore for a ye dollars. Yeah, he
- 14:16Speaker 1: was gonna pay a million dollars. I was like, am
- 14:18Speaker 1: I going to get to this? Is this going to
- 14:20Speaker 1: be a million dollars more? Can you imagine if you
- 14:23Speaker 1: text me and Casey you guys it's a million dollars.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It's just a hand job. All I have to do.
- 14:30Speaker 1: All I got to do a shake away babet. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: if I get a million from this handy. But I'm
- 14:41Speaker 1: thinking that, oh, this is gonna go to that direction.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Let me get out of this as quick as possible.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't want to leave this man on. He's like, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 14:48Speaker 1: please just take it. I'm like, I'm not gonna take it. Money,
- 14:50Speaker 1: bro get out of here. And he's like, all right, well,
- 14:52Speaker 1: then sit down at the table and just you know.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I was like, and just and just gamble it away.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And I was like, all right, bet, I'll do that,
- 14:58Speaker 1: no problem. So I sit down at the table. But
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm still like, if I'm here any longer, this is
- 15:04Speaker 1: gonna this could turn it too. I doubt is gonna
- 15:07Speaker 1: turn it to something, but you never know. I don't
- 15:09Speaker 1: want to lead this guy. Oh honest, it's just a
- 15:10Speaker 1: weird it's a weird like I'm obligated to hang out
- 15:13Speaker 1: with you now thing like right now. So I gamble
- 15:16Speaker 1: that shit away right away and I get the fuck
- 15:18Speaker 1: out of there. You lost it quick, real quick, and
- 15:21Speaker 1: I say thank you and everything like that, and you know,
- 15:24Speaker 1: he goes and he goes, Listen. I want to tell
- 15:26Speaker 1: you something, man. The fact that you didn't take the
- 15:28Speaker 1: money makes me think that you're a real nice guy.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And I just wanted to and I'm like, gotta go,
- 15:33Speaker 1: oh no, And I just wanted to see. Let me
- 15:36Speaker 1: see how soft your hands are? Are you? Are your
- 15:40Speaker 1: hands calloused? Um? I gotta say, since we're talking about
- 15:44Speaker 1: iHeart and podcasts, that we are nominated, don't You might
- 15:47Speaker 1: not even know this for an I Heeart Podcast award.
- 15:51Speaker 1: That's awesome, And it's a little bit embarrassing because we're
- 15:54Speaker 1: not nominated in It's iHeart, right, and we're an I
- 15:59Speaker 1: Heeart podcast, but we're not nominated in Podcast of the Year, right,
- 16:05Speaker 1: which you would think would be the only category. But
- 16:09Speaker 1: that's like smart lists and Conan O'Brien needs a friend,
- 16:12Speaker 1: which I'm about to do for my movie a good person,
- 16:15Speaker 1: amazing podcast, and other you know, it's crime junkie. I'm
- 16:19Speaker 1: just mentioning a few and a bunch of I don't know.
- 16:22Speaker 1: But then then you think, okay, well, that's too bad
- 16:25Speaker 1: we didn't. Those are huge podcasts. That's okay. Then you
- 16:28Speaker 1: scroll down, right, and you scroll down, and you keep
- 16:32Speaker 1: scrolling down, you keep scrolling down that if you keep scrolling,
- 16:37Speaker 1: please audience, I'm asking you, keep scrolling, and you're gonna
- 16:40Speaker 1: get to best TV and Film Podcast. And there at
- 16:45Speaker 1: the bottom of the list is Fake Doctor's Real Friends.
- 16:48Speaker 1: How many other podcasts are nominated in our one, two, three, four, five,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and one of them is Films to Be Buried With,
- 16:55Speaker 1: which is Brett Goldstein's Wonderful podcast. So if a bread pizzas,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm going to be very pissed. We call it his
- 17:01Speaker 1: podcast wonderful. It is a very good podcast. It's not
- 17:03Speaker 1: as genius as ours. Also, how did this get made?
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think it's one of the top podcasts in the
- 17:10Speaker 1: cons set up for being set up for failure. So
- 17:13Speaker 1: check this out. So I go, I get out there,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I do all of this media stuff. I've talked to Xbox,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I've talked to Microsoft, I really like what Microsoft is doing.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I really think that there's a spot for fake Doctor's
- 17:27Speaker 1: real friends and Microsoft. I'm just putting it out there.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I really feel like that's a spot for fake Doctor's
- 17:33Speaker 1: real friend. Microsoft. Well, I mean, they have like video
- 17:38Speaker 1: games on Xbox, and we can be I'm not. I'm
- 17:44Speaker 1: saying that there are video games out there that specifically
- 17:48Speaker 1: have podcasts on them. And how what's an example. Well,
- 17:54Speaker 1: there's Daniel probably Plays the Roadblox has a podcast on it,
- 17:59Speaker 1: and so yeah, and so does m one of my
- 18:03Speaker 1: favorite video games ever, the video game that almost ruined
- 18:06Speaker 1: my career because GTA, because every twelve year old boy
- 18:10Speaker 1: in a world. Hey, fortnite Fortnite, yes, also has a
- 18:15Speaker 1: podcast on it. In fortnite Land, there's iHeart Landing, There's
- 18:18Speaker 1: Iheartland in Fortnite. Oh, I want to be there and
- 18:22Speaker 1: so but um, these are the things I'm learning, right.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And then I sat down with you know, people like
- 18:27Speaker 1: Ben and Jerry's you know, I know that's your favorite
- 18:29Speaker 1: ice cream and stuff like that, and I've rubbed it
- 18:31Speaker 1: in their face. I was like, if Zach were here
- 18:33Speaker 1: right now, he would love to be talking to you
- 18:35Speaker 1: guys about some ice cream. I seriously got to say, like,
- 18:39Speaker 1: there's no product I could advertise more genuinely and wholeheartedly
- 18:44Speaker 1: than Ben and Jerry's ice cream because I can't have
- 18:47Speaker 1: it in my home. It's the equivalent of cocaine. For
- 18:49Speaker 1: a cocaine addict, I don't have this issue. A pint
- 18:54Speaker 1: of Chubby Hubby does not last more than a single day.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I like Netflix and Child and I told you, I
- 19:00Speaker 1: go down to I go down to like half and
- 19:02Speaker 1: I put it away and then I'm back on the
- 19:05Speaker 1: couch and I'm just thinking about it. I love these
- 19:07Speaker 1: naughty names that Ben and Jerry. I'm like, I'm like,
- 19:10Speaker 1: what is it. I'm like, what does it matter if
- 19:11Speaker 1: he eat it tomorrow or today? It's all going in
- 19:15Speaker 1: the same hole. Perfect lay. And then finally the day
- 19:25Speaker 1: was done right, got on the plane to go back
- 19:29Speaker 1: home with Bob Pittman, the CEO of My Heart, the
- 19:33Speaker 1: CEO of My Heart. You're all the plane with him,
- 19:36Speaker 1: on the plane with him, Wow, dom wnna let him
- 19:38Speaker 1: get on his own PJ with him and John Sykes,
- 19:41Speaker 1: the President of Entertainment Enterprises at iHeartMedia. So I'm just
- 19:45Speaker 1: saying that's who I was on the plane with Oh
- 19:48Speaker 1: oh oh you were and you didn't say anything embarrassing
- 19:50Speaker 1: this whole truck. I might have said some dumb shit.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Oh look who's decided to bangs? I'm so disappointed Without Banks.
- 19:59Speaker 1: How how Zoe did you guys get bangs together? I
- 20:04Speaker 1: actually had to leave Zoe. I was not with her.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I was with Will Packer doing some stuff over there. Oh,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I love Will? The fuck is up with Will? What's
- 20:12Speaker 1: he doing? He has a podcast network, an eye hurt.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Now I'm helping run the thing. It's good times, yea, Joell.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I'm happy for your success, but I also feel needy
- 20:25Speaker 1: and miss you, and I want you to I want
- 20:29Speaker 1: you to have everything that's happening to you happen, but
- 20:32Speaker 1: I do. I do feel sad when you're not here.
- 20:35Speaker 1: You lighten up my world when you send me videos
- 20:38Speaker 1: of adorable plug Zach, and it is my intention to
- 20:41Speaker 1: miss as few of the minutes I get to spend
- 20:43Speaker 1: with you guys as possible. Today twelve thirty was just
- 20:46Speaker 1: the only time anyone could do anything. It was little
- 20:49Speaker 1: today at twelve thirty. I had plans to Joel, you
- 20:55Speaker 1: know what, I put those plans aside for this one
- 20:59Speaker 1: little thing that I have committed to take Doctor's Real
- 21:02Speaker 1: Friend's podcast. You're just putting it out there. Joe Spielberg
- 21:05Speaker 1: called me and said, can we meet at twelve thirty
- 21:08Speaker 1: on Thursday? And I said, no, Stevens, you know you never.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I don't want to be late to Joel. That's what
- 21:14Speaker 1: I said. He's doing Fableman's too. I thought of that.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It's hilarious. Speaking of Spielberg, have you seen this movie? Hell? Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I did see this movie. Yeah. I can't wait to
- 21:23Speaker 1: see it. I really want to watch it. I've been
- 21:25Speaker 1: I've been waiting to ring. I'm wanting to be I'm
- 21:28Speaker 1: willing to bet money that it's amazing. You know what
- 21:30Speaker 1: a movie I did see? What Violent Night? Did you
- 21:33Speaker 1: see that shit yet? Ship is fucking fire? Dude, Yo?
- 21:39Speaker 1: Bro David Harbor, Yo, my man kills it dude, Yo. Yo, listen,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you like horror. I didn't know that about you. It's
- 21:47Speaker 1: not horror. This shit is action. I like action adventure,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and that's what this Bad Boy is. This Bad Boy
- 21:53Speaker 1: is action adventure. But it's horror in a way that
- 21:57Speaker 1: you like, close your eyes because you know that the
- 22:00Speaker 1: gore is like the way these people are about to die.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Is gonna be so gress it's nasty, like it's gross, gross,
- 22:07Speaker 1: like face ripping. Oh, but the movie is so funny.
- 22:10Speaker 1: It is your stings, I promise you. And it's got
- 22:12Speaker 1: so much heart. Listen. These are movies that I'm gonna
- 22:15Speaker 1: go out there and gore and heart. I've never watched Listen,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I've never I've never experienced. So I think like, which
- 22:22Speaker 1: we call it Slither, is like another movie that has
- 22:25Speaker 1: gore and heart in it, you know what I mean.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's a James Gunn that was his earlier one of
- 22:31Speaker 1: his earlier movies starring the lovely Elizabeth Banks. By the way, anyway,
- 22:37Speaker 1: that's a that's a movie that's gory and has heart.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But this one, oh Man, violent Night, Yo, David Harbor,
- 22:43Speaker 1: good job, bro. And I think it's a British movie
- 22:46Speaker 1: too because it's like and John Leguzamo, good job, bro.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I know, a movie because it's fun. Hard to talk
- 22:51Speaker 1: about movies on here because I know you don't watch
- 22:53Speaker 1: that many. But there was one that I saw that
- 22:55Speaker 1: I know was probably your favorite of the year. That
- 22:58Speaker 1: was Magnificent, which was oh it's so good, Oh my god. Okay,
- 23:06Speaker 1: So when I first started animating Robot Chicken started at
- 23:09Speaker 1: Shadow Machine, So my first time ever interning was at
- 23:13Speaker 1: Shadow Machine when it was in Los Angeles. It's since
- 23:17Speaker 1: moved to Portland, Korey and Alex and no longer in
- 23:19Speaker 1: LA From what I understand, I'm just going to give
- 23:22Speaker 1: them the Shadows Coorey and Alex. Great job. However, Giamo
- 23:25Speaker 1: del Toro and you connected to make this project. It's
- 23:29Speaker 1: amazing and you've got some of the best animators on it.
- 23:32Speaker 1: And I understand why you moved to Portland too, because
- 23:34Speaker 1: that's where a lot of the talent is. I get that.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I think a lot of the animation is because I
- 23:39Speaker 1: watched the behind the scenes was done in Mexico. Some
- 23:41Speaker 1: of it. Some of it's done in Mexico. Four animation
- 23:44Speaker 1: studios involved in the production, and Gimmer actually created the
- 23:48Speaker 1: production house in Mexico as a way to showcase the
- 23:51Speaker 1: talent that's down there. So now there's like an international
- 23:54Speaker 1: animation studio. There's always been good animation in Mexico sincerely.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Like a lot of the accounts that I follow are
- 24:03Speaker 1: south of the border. Every time I see a stop
- 24:05Speaker 1: motion movie, I just am blown away by the amount
- 24:08Speaker 1: of work. And then and this one like took it
- 24:10Speaker 1: to the next level, Like I just could not believe
- 24:14Speaker 1: the amount of artistry. And then I watched I was
- 24:16Speaker 1: so into it, and I know this is your passion.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I went and watched There's a Making of documentary, which
- 24:21Speaker 1: really just blows your mind the amount of man slash
- 24:25Speaker 1: woman hours that went into making this movie, Like they've
- 24:28Speaker 1: been recently, in like the last i'll say twenty years,
- 24:33Speaker 1: there have been like for you know, stop motion is
- 24:37Speaker 1: an art form that not a lot of people can
- 24:38Speaker 1: do or not a lot of people want to do.
- 24:41Speaker 1: That was one of the best examples of stop motion
- 24:43Speaker 1: animation I've ever seen in my life. It was just incredible.
- 24:47Speaker 1: So we should get into the show. But before we do,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I just want to say, if you haven't gone to
- 24:52Speaker 1: see my trailer on YouTube, please go check it out.
- 24:56Speaker 1: If you play, it's one of the most anticipated movies
- 24:58Speaker 1: of the two thousand and then twenty three. You know that, right,
- 25:02Speaker 1: Well those lists, well, well it's exciting. Well well, well,
- 25:06Speaker 1: by the way, Florence is on and if you saw
- 25:08Speaker 1: that Florence pew Our stars on the cover of Vogue
- 25:11Speaker 1: this month, it just came looking lovely too, Holy, go
- 25:16Speaker 1: get him girl, she like scorgersad and read the article
- 25:19Speaker 1: even if you don't normally aren't the person who would
- 25:21Speaker 1: read a Vogue article. It's a really good article. And
- 25:24Speaker 1: it also talks about the movie and it talks about
- 25:26Speaker 1: the inspiration for the movie and it's it's uh, it's
- 25:29Speaker 1: really good. And you can find the trailer on YouTube
- 25:33Speaker 1: if you put in a good person trailer. So that's
- 25:43Speaker 1: all the announcements. Um, and now we're going to talk
- 25:46Speaker 1: about the TV show Scrubs. But one more thing before
- 25:48Speaker 1: we do. Zach and Donald Gay Newlywitz in the house
- 25:52Speaker 1: Arrestive six seven about nurses stories. So, YadA, YadA, all right,
- 26:20Speaker 1: my dumb luck. What an episode? Great episode? Yeah, it
- 26:24Speaker 1: was a great episode. Written by the lovely and talented
- 26:27Speaker 1: A scene batra Yes, directed by Rick Blue. Directed by
- 26:31Speaker 1: Rick Blue, who was one of our main editors on
- 26:33Speaker 1: all of the main eight seasons of the show and
- 26:38Speaker 1: also directed a few Lovely guy and he actually was
- 26:41Speaker 1: a featured background performer. He played the cafeteria worker. Sounds good,
- 26:48Speaker 1: how that rolled off your tongue? Now listen, I gotta
- 26:50Speaker 1: say when we were shooting this very famous sequence in
- 26:54Speaker 1: terms of Scrubs lore famous the love train. I didn't
- 26:58Speaker 1: think it was that funny. People love this. I have
- 27:02Speaker 1: seen this give it's one of the top gifts that
- 27:06Speaker 1: get sent to me or I see on the web
- 27:08Speaker 1: Scrubs related. It's us with the old people. So the
- 27:12Speaker 1: senior citizens in the story need to be moved out
- 27:14Speaker 1: of the geriatric wing because it's something that's being done.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Do it, do it, And we have to move them around,
- 27:20Speaker 1: and they're wandering all over the place and they're taking forever. Yes,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and and Turk and JD are like cattle dogs that
- 27:27Speaker 1: are trying to wrangle the cattle. I like that cat
- 27:31Speaker 1: dog and the cattle. And we say, this is so tricky,
- 27:34Speaker 1: if only there was another way, and then we cut
- 27:37Speaker 1: to the most random fantasy. No, it's like, if only
- 27:41Speaker 1: we could somehow form a train. And then you're like,
- 27:44Speaker 1: all aboard, everybody, And then literally JD turns to camerangos
- 27:49Speaker 1: the love train. Yeah, rights into the lens, which is,
- 27:53Speaker 1: as you know, we don't do that much running the
- 27:55Speaker 1: lanes with righting the lens with that sparkly seventies hat
- 27:59Speaker 1: people all over the world, giant hands. Yes, start a
- 28:04Speaker 1: love train. Yes, train. Yeah, so they formed a train
- 28:11Speaker 1: of wheelchairs. But listen, I remember shooting, but like the
- 28:20Speaker 1: train of wheelchairs, like a train of shopping carts, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: you're riding and yeah, but you're riding like the locomotive. Yes,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I remember this long ago, thinking I will do this,
- 28:35Speaker 1: but I don't think this is that funny. I remember
- 28:38Speaker 1: this too, and I remember going, you know what, I
- 28:40Speaker 1: trust Bill, lean into it, and this many years later,
- 28:44Speaker 1: it's something that gets sent to me all the time
- 28:46Speaker 1: as a as a gift on on the interwebs. I
- 28:49Speaker 1: guess people, everybody loves a train. I mean everybody, let
- 28:54Speaker 1: me find it. Everybody likes a little ass play. Yeah, okay,
- 28:57Speaker 1: it's a little early in the new year, and everybody
- 28:59Speaker 1: loves a little train, right. Well, not everyone loves train
- 29:03Speaker 1: in the sexual way. Donald, that's what you mean. That's
- 29:06Speaker 1: not what I meant. Oh, I do love trains, regular trains,
- 29:15Speaker 1: really like you know, like little like not even if
- 29:17Speaker 1: it's not even if you like riding on a train,
- 29:19Speaker 1: if you see a little train set going around something like,
- 29:21Speaker 1: oh look at the little train. Well, actually there's trains.
- 29:24Speaker 1: As you know. There's a train subplot in my film
- 29:27Speaker 1: on Morgan Freeman's character. It's his it's his hobby. Not
- 29:31Speaker 1: a spoiler. That's not a spoiler. It's in the trailer
- 29:34Speaker 1: um that you can now go watch on YouTube. Um,
- 29:37Speaker 1: but I love trains. I had, I had a model
- 29:39Speaker 1: train set as a kid, and uh, I love trains anyway,
- 29:41Speaker 1: So that's this. Uh Now Kelso is really um in
- 29:45Speaker 1: a bad place because it's it's been revealed to the
- 29:49Speaker 1: board how old he is because he was lying and
- 29:51Speaker 1: now they want to kick him out. And yeah, he's
- 29:55Speaker 1: sixty five years old and he's supposed to phase out
- 30:00Speaker 1: at that At this point, I guess at this at
- 30:02Speaker 1: Sacred Heart Hospital, that's when they want you to retire.
- 30:05Speaker 1: And he was sort of lying to hide it. And
- 30:08Speaker 1: the first time we see Kelso, he wipes his hands
- 30:11Speaker 1: while he's telling Ted how lovely his jacket is. As
- 30:14Speaker 1: he's touching it, you know, he's like, this is such
- 30:16Speaker 1: a lovely jacket. Ted. It kind of reminded me of
- 30:19Speaker 1: the Eddie Murphy line and coming to America, this is beautiful.
- 30:24Speaker 1: What is that velvety? Ted says it's a poly nylon blend. Well, anyway,
- 30:37Speaker 1: we learned that Kelso was just drying his hands on
- 30:39Speaker 1: Ted on his jacket, on his jacket, and poor Ted
- 30:43Speaker 1: he uh, he's so been beaten down for so many
- 30:46Speaker 1: years by Kelso, and and he doesn't know yet, um
- 30:51Speaker 1: that the board is forcing Kelso to retire. We do
- 30:54Speaker 1: learn that Kelso stole an MRI machine, yes, and is
- 30:58Speaker 1: hiding it in his base base for Joel, can you
- 31:01Speaker 1: find out what the average cost of an MRI machine?
- 31:05Speaker 1: I know that must be a million dollars. I know
- 31:08Speaker 1: the GE made the MRI machines. Yes, look look for
- 31:13Speaker 1: look for a GE one. I know GE makes them. Yeah,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but I imagine it's got to be a million dollars
- 31:20Speaker 1: for an MRI machine at least at least. Okay, Now
- 31:23Speaker 1: Kelso has one in his basement. What does it say? Duell? Sorry,
- 31:27Speaker 1: it's I've got used and new And I didn't know
- 31:29Speaker 1: you could buy them like cars. Usually I don't want
- 31:34Speaker 1: to use one. Do you think you can buy one
- 31:37Speaker 1: for your house if you're just a regular Joe, or
- 31:39Speaker 1: do you need to be a hospital? I mean, I'm
- 31:41Speaker 1: sure there's some certain that's like magnet, a magnetic field
- 31:44Speaker 1: in there. I'm sir, there's certain there's something that has
- 31:47Speaker 1: to be all right. Well, anyway, the point will find
- 31:50Speaker 1: out the price. But the point is Kelso stole one
- 31:52Speaker 1: and has it in his baseball. I think Joe Well
- 31:54Speaker 1: found out the procec. So you can go as cheap
- 31:57Speaker 1: if you go generic as one hundred and fifty thou,
- 32:00Speaker 1: or as expensive as one point two million for a
- 32:03Speaker 1: state of the art three. Yeah. Alright, well I'm guessing
- 32:07Speaker 1: this is sacred heart. So he probably has one hundred
- 32:09Speaker 1: and fifty thousand dollars versions well, you know, or you
- 32:12Speaker 1: could look at it like he ordered a brand new
- 32:15Speaker 1: one point five million dollars one and then that shot.
- 32:20Speaker 1: How do you sell it on the black market? I
- 32:22Speaker 1: mean it must be tricky to be like go on, yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 1: go on eBay with an MRI machine, with the stolen
- 32:30Speaker 1: MRI machine, right right, no questions asked, you have, but
- 32:33Speaker 1: you do have to come pick it up. And you
- 32:34Speaker 1: have to come pick it up in my basement. Can
- 32:38Speaker 1: you imagine They're like, oh, great, well our hospital just
- 32:41Speaker 1: we just raised enough money to a ford an hour
- 32:43Speaker 1: first MRI machine. All right, great, you need to come
- 32:46Speaker 1: by my basement, come pick it up. All right. So
- 32:51Speaker 1: Carlin Elliott are are really committed to helping because they
- 32:55Speaker 1: both feel bad, and they spend the whole episode trying.
- 32:58Speaker 1: It feels bad because she's the one that actually outed
- 33:02Speaker 1: Kelso's age by throwing that birthday party for him, right,
- 33:06Speaker 1: And they are going to team up because they feel
- 33:09Speaker 1: really bad and they're going to try and rally. The
- 33:11Speaker 1: problem with trying to rally everyone is that everybody hates him.
- 33:14Speaker 1: He's he's the ultimate bad guy in the hospital and uh,
- 33:18Speaker 1: and no one is interested in helping save his job
- 33:21Speaker 1: other than these two ladies. Well, actually, this whole episode
- 33:24Speaker 1: is about teaming up, you know, the whole episode literally
- 33:27Speaker 1: like there's it's a team up j D and Turt,
- 33:30Speaker 1: the usual team up. They go on, they go on
- 33:33Speaker 1: a quest. Elliott and Carla try to team up the
- 33:37Speaker 1: whole hospital. They try to avenge assemble the situation for
- 33:41Speaker 1: Avengers assemble for Kelso. So, they try to assemble the hospital.
- 33:47Speaker 1: And then you know, there's always the loaner, and that's
- 33:50Speaker 1: John C. McGinley, and both stories, doctor Cox is the
- 33:54Speaker 1: loaner and is the glue to figuring out the dilemma.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I guess we would say, well, I want to say,
- 34:02Speaker 1: in the spirit of the theme, you were saying, there's
- 34:06Speaker 1: also Kelso teaming up with the polar opposite of him,
- 34:11Speaker 1: who is a brand new baby faced intern named Boone,
- 34:16Speaker 1: who he sort of kidnaps in a way and makes
- 34:19Speaker 1: him sit on a bench while he stares up at
- 34:21Speaker 1: the hospital and reminiscence for the whole hospital. I just
- 34:24Speaker 1: got to say, you know, we talk about how wonderful
- 34:27Speaker 1: of an actor all of our cast mates are and
- 34:30Speaker 1: stuff like that. Ken Jenkins really does shine in this
- 34:32Speaker 1: episode though. He really does tell some great stories and
- 34:35Speaker 1: he takes you on a roller coaster too, you know
- 34:37Speaker 1: what I mean. Like, just when you think he's being
- 34:39Speaker 1: really serious and he's he's he's, he's, he's you know,
- 34:44Speaker 1: confiding all of his you know, insecurities and bone and
- 34:48Speaker 1: everything like that, he drops He drops him with the
- 34:51Speaker 1: freaking jump scare, you know, like he does so many
- 34:55Speaker 1: he has so many levels and this Ken does and
- 34:59Speaker 1: it's a testament to Ken as an actor, but also
- 35:01Speaker 1: to a Simon Bill and the staff of writers as
- 35:04Speaker 1: writers on the show because we're seven years in and
- 35:07Speaker 1: still able to like at the end of the show,
- 35:08Speaker 1: I still got emotional, yeah, because of because of all
- 35:11Speaker 1: of the groundwork Ken laid in the episode and It's
- 35:15Speaker 1: what a feat to make you feel such empathy for
- 35:18Speaker 1: Kelso by the end of this episode, because you know
- 35:21Speaker 1: that you don't really. There's a very few moments where
- 35:25Speaker 1: throughout this episode, throughout the show so far, where where
- 35:29Speaker 1: Bill and the writers make you feel like Kelso has
- 35:33Speaker 1: a shimmer of being a good person inside of him.
- 35:36Speaker 1: And there's a moment or two in here where you
- 35:39Speaker 1: where you see that underneath that sort of that super hard,
- 35:43Speaker 1: tough exterior comes with trying to run a hospital and
- 35:47Speaker 1: having to say no so many times a day and
- 35:50Speaker 1: having to let people down so many times a day
- 35:53Speaker 1: that he's built up this crazy thick armor. You learn
- 35:58Speaker 1: the origin story armor. The first person that he ever
- 36:02Speaker 1: killed like he has. It's a really dark conversation, but
- 36:06Speaker 1: he asks, Spoon, have you ever killed an you? Have
- 36:08Speaker 1: you killed anyone yet? He's like, you'll remember I remember mine.
- 36:12Speaker 1: It's like, I had a young girl come into the
- 36:14Speaker 1: hospital and I thought it was a pendicitist. Turns out
- 36:17Speaker 1: she was pregnant and he fucked that up and the
- 36:19Speaker 1: girl died. Dude, Yeah she was you know what, he says,
- 36:23Speaker 1: She was a topic and she was bleeding internally and
- 36:26Speaker 1: he didn't know, and that was his first death and
- 36:28Speaker 1: he's never forgotten about it. But that's what caused him
- 36:31Speaker 1: to build a wall, like I you know, how do
- 36:36Speaker 1: you come back from that? You know how you come
- 36:37Speaker 1: back from that? You bury it, and you come back
- 36:39Speaker 1: the next day and you go it. You go at
- 36:42Speaker 1: your job again, you know. Right, Well, there's a really
- 36:44Speaker 1: sweet moment. We're jumping ahead, but where where you know,
- 36:46Speaker 1: after he's after he's spoken all these really meaningful and
- 36:51Speaker 1: funny stories about the hospital and and and how much
- 36:55Speaker 1: it's taken a toll on him, the kid stands up
- 36:59Speaker 1: and he says, this is gonna be the I'm paraphrasing.
- 37:02Speaker 1: He says, is this gonna be like a horrible twenty years?
- 37:04Speaker 1: And he goes, now you're gonna love it? Yeah? I
- 37:07Speaker 1: thought that was really sweet. Yeah, he had some some
- 37:10Speaker 1: of the stories were just you know, wonderful and well,
- 37:14Speaker 1: can we got it? I found we gotta read one
- 37:16Speaker 1: because it's so crazy and it's on it's on scrubs Wicky.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna write the whole thing down, but scrubs
- 37:21Speaker 1: Wicky has it, so we'll read it when we get there.
- 37:24Speaker 1: But so let's go back. So Turke and JD are
- 37:26Speaker 1: poking the bear. The bear is doctor Cox, who cannot
- 37:31Speaker 1: diagnose his patient. His patient's been coming back to the
- 37:34Speaker 1: hospital for years now, and Cox keeps sending him away
- 37:39Speaker 1: with sending him away undiagnosed. Yeah, Cox is stumped. The
- 37:43Speaker 1: patient's name is Alex, and Cox is rarely stumped, but
- 37:46Speaker 1: he just can't figure this out. And Turk and JD
- 37:49Speaker 1: are just loving this because he's mister know it all,
- 37:52Speaker 1: he's mister cocky, and they decide that they're gonna poke
- 37:55Speaker 1: the bear and fuck with him because he can't figure
- 37:58Speaker 1: it out. And and and then also not only that, Ted,
- 38:03Speaker 1: you're saying this earlier. Ted doesn't know that Kelso is
- 38:07Speaker 1: no longer going to be working at the hospital, and
- 38:09Speaker 1: when he finds out, he goes on a naked run through.
- 38:14Speaker 1: He strips down to his to nothing and goes for
- 38:17Speaker 1: a naked run throughout the hospital, yelling I'm free, I'm free,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I'm free through the hospital hallways, which is hilarious. And
- 38:26Speaker 1: and then Rick Blew, the director cleverly hides his junk
- 38:29Speaker 1: with when a guy leans over with his head several times. Yeah,
- 38:33Speaker 1: there's really clever ways to cover Sam's groin as he
- 38:38Speaker 1: runs naked through the hospital and out the front door,
- 38:40Speaker 1: until where he gets hit by a van driven by
- 38:43Speaker 1: the janitor and bites his tongue off. He bites his
- 38:47Speaker 1: tongue off and um, and not only that, he stands up,
- 38:52Speaker 1: he does the hilarious spinning fall. See that. Yeah, Well,
- 38:59Speaker 1: when he passes out. When he passes out, Sam Lloyd
- 39:01Speaker 1: does such a funny physical comedy pass out, which is
- 39:04Speaker 1: like a it's like he's like a spinning turn fall
- 39:08Speaker 1: and then you see you see blood blood right which
- 39:13Speaker 1: he gets hit by the couch. So he gets hit
- 39:15Speaker 1: by the truck. The janitor comes out and goes, are
- 39:17Speaker 1: you okay, buddy, And he stands up and goes and
- 39:19Speaker 1: nods yes, and he goes, are you not talking because
- 39:22Speaker 1: because you're bit your tongue off and your mouth is
- 39:25Speaker 1: filling with blood. And then we cut back to Ted
- 39:27Speaker 1: and now he's like a trombone player with his mouth
- 39:30Speaker 1: blown all the way up with blood. And he nods
- 39:34Speaker 1: and goes, oh, are you about to pass out? And
- 39:36Speaker 1: Ted passes out with the spinning pass out and when
- 39:39Speaker 1: he falls, all the blood in his mouth splats up
- 39:42Speaker 1: into the air. Yeah, and it looks like, you know,
- 39:44Speaker 1: today they probably do that in post effect, but it
- 39:46Speaker 1: looks like that was practical. It looks like somebody was
- 39:49Speaker 1: there with a packet and just hit yeah, just and
- 39:51Speaker 1: it just flies up in the foreground. That was funny.
- 39:54Speaker 1: And then I want to say that's the cold open.
- 39:57Speaker 1: But I want to say, there's one thing else that
- 39:58Speaker 1: we didn't talk about, which is, um oh, Johnny C
- 40:03Speaker 1: does the thing with the with the hold the the
- 40:06Speaker 1: bungee cord right, and he snaps it at me, and
- 40:11Speaker 1: but I don't care. And then you and I are
- 40:12Speaker 1: hugging from the adrenaline because we're just so we're so
- 40:16Speaker 1: adrenaline up because we had the balls to fuck with
- 40:19Speaker 1: doctor Cox. And then I'm while I'm hugging you know,
- 40:22Speaker 1: I go, you smell like an athlete. Yes, there are
- 40:31Speaker 1: a lot of people out there who know what an
- 40:32Speaker 1: athlete smells. Well, JD doesn't know really because he's not
- 40:36Speaker 1: an athlete, but he imagines that that's what an athlete
- 40:39Speaker 1: smells like. I was gonna get nasty, but all right,
- 40:43Speaker 1: so I'm not gonna it's gonna get nasty, but I'm
- 40:46Speaker 1: not gonna Well, we don't need you to get nasty.
- 40:48Speaker 1: It's too early in the new year. People's ears are
- 40:51Speaker 1: still frust it is it too early to get nasty?
- 40:55Speaker 1: Don't get nasty yet, It's too early to get nasty.
- 40:59Speaker 1: There's a fun line where Kelso's the kid Bob that's hilarious.
- 41:03Speaker 1: He's trying to avoid Kelso and he goes, I don't
- 41:07Speaker 1: care if the cure for cancer was laughter and you
- 41:10Speaker 1: had Nipsey Russell in your back back pocket. In your
- 41:14Speaker 1: back pocket. Now, the kids might not know who Nipsey
- 41:17Speaker 1: Russell is, but he was a very funny comic actor.
- 41:20Speaker 1: He was in a great movie, Wildcats, but he was
- 41:25Speaker 1: also in The Whizz. He played the tin man in
- 41:27Speaker 1: The Whizz. Yeah, but I know what your your favorite
- 41:29Speaker 1: kept phrase of his? Yeah, I got to see Goldie
- 41:36Speaker 1: Hawn um overbreak because I had dinner with with Kate
- 41:40Speaker 1: and her mom and I got to with a healthy
- 41:43Speaker 1: buzz on tell her how much I loved Wildcats as
- 41:46Speaker 1: a child, dud. Did you talk about the bathtupsy? No? No,
- 41:53Speaker 1: but that I love about when I was a kid.
- 41:55Speaker 1: That was the best part of Wildcats for me. The
- 41:58Speaker 1: football Goldie Hawn with a towel trying to wrap her
- 42:01Speaker 1: body in that ship. She's so beautiful. Oh my gosh,
- 42:05Speaker 1: she's so down to talk about old stories. You know,
- 42:09Speaker 1: she doesn't ever feel like one of those people like
- 42:11Speaker 1: you're bothering, Like can we just talk about Wildcats? And
- 42:14Speaker 1: she was so into chatting about old stories and telling
- 42:17Speaker 1: fun anecdotes and so anyway, little people really loved Wildcats
- 42:22Speaker 1: when I was and everything, well, Wildcats had the introduction
- 42:25Speaker 1: of two other young actors by the name of Woody
- 42:28Speaker 1: Harrison and Wesley Snipes, both of them staring Wildcats. They
- 42:32Speaker 1: go on to make another great movie called money Train.
- 42:35Speaker 1: But some of you might be like Donald, I thought
- 42:37Speaker 1: you were gonna say White Men Can't Jump. I was,
- 42:39Speaker 1: But money Train is Jennifer Lopez, and I forgot. I
- 42:43Speaker 1: forgot that. Um. Woody and Wesley had made so many
- 42:46Speaker 1: movies together. Oh man, white Man Can't Jump is by
- 42:48Speaker 1: far their best movie that they made together, with their
- 42:51Speaker 1: big break, both of their big break was Wildcats. Well,
- 42:54Speaker 1: I believe that was the movie. That's the first time
- 42:57Speaker 1: I had ever seen him was Wildcats. About Eddie at
- 42:59Speaker 1: the Golden Globes. She was hilarious. It was hilarious when
- 43:03Speaker 1: he said pay your taxes he's right though. But he's
- 43:07Speaker 1: right though. If you nail it, if you nail it,
- 43:09Speaker 1: at least the first two were right, pay your taxes
- 43:11Speaker 1: and maya business is something that everything about that. Don't
- 43:14Speaker 1: pay your taxes about Wesley's names. I mean, pay your
- 43:17Speaker 1: taxes about anybody. Man. I thought it well him, him
- 43:23Speaker 1: and Wesley make movies together. And there and from what
- 43:25Speaker 1: I understand, I don't know, I'm not saying. This goes
- 43:29Speaker 1: into the next part of the conversation, maya business. That
- 43:32Speaker 1: ship was the most poignant freaking no. But then he
- 43:35Speaker 1: but then he eddies so geniusly he kept that ship low.
- 43:37Speaker 1: If you walk at that speech, this is the genius
- 43:39Speaker 1: Eddy Murphy. It was like, why is Eddy like barely
- 43:42Speaker 1: just telling this speech like this volume And it was
- 43:45Speaker 1: all a long build up for the last fucking Will
- 43:49Speaker 1: Smith joke. Yeah, yeah, keep Will Smith's wife's name out,
- 43:54Speaker 1: motherfucking out. Laugh. I laughed hard. I I you know
- 43:59Speaker 1: what I thought. The globes was very, very Obviously it's
- 44:03Speaker 1: going to be different now because they have a lot
- 44:05Speaker 1: of at least they feel like they have a lot
- 44:08Speaker 1: of making up to do to get you know, the
- 44:11Speaker 1: you know, it was kind of cringe. Yeah, but it
- 44:14Speaker 1: was cringe in the right way. These are things that
- 44:15Speaker 1: should be talked about, you know what I mean, Like
- 44:17Speaker 1: all of these things that everybody has a hard time
- 44:19Speaker 1: talking about, Let's talk about that ship. So it's no longer.
- 44:21Speaker 1: We don't longer have a hard time talking about this ship,
- 44:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean? What are your thoughts on it? Uh?
- 44:28Speaker 1: It was interesting. A lot of people who said they
- 44:31Speaker 1: were't going to calm show it up no names, but
- 44:33Speaker 1: I was like, okay, interesting. It does seem like the
- 44:36Speaker 1: organ is trying to make some good changes, which I
- 44:39Speaker 1: think is all you can really ask them to do.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I think it's important that we have international press in
- 44:43Speaker 1: Hollywood in a space for them to voice, you know,
- 44:46Speaker 1: what they love. And it was nice to see a
- 44:48Speaker 1: whole bunch of international films like R R one an Award,
- 44:50Speaker 1: which was great. So I loved all of that. I
- 44:53Speaker 1: think hiring Dried Carmichael is probably the smartest thing they
- 44:55Speaker 1: could have done, because that kid is so smart, different,
- 44:59Speaker 1: funny and different, real different different, which is why he's intriguing.
- 45:04Speaker 1: And so I think having him set the tone really
- 45:07Speaker 1: said okay, like listen, it might be weird and awkward tonight,
- 45:09Speaker 1: but we're trying to get back on the right foot.
- 45:11Speaker 1: And again, I just if you mess up that bad,
- 45:13Speaker 1: what else can you do but just try to make
- 45:15Speaker 1: it right. I feel like everybody who thought it was
- 45:18Speaker 1: who thought it was what the stuff that he was
- 45:22Speaker 1: saying was cringeworthy, thought about it the next day still, though,
- 45:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean, every point that he made
- 45:27Speaker 1: last night was enough for me at least to be like, damn,
- 45:31Speaker 1: remember when he said that ship. How funny was Jennifer Coolidge? Though,
- 45:37Speaker 1: come on, man, But both both times she comes out
- 45:40Speaker 1: for her presentation monologue, I laughed so hard. She's just
- 45:43Speaker 1: so wacky and funny. And then her acceptance speech where
- 45:47Speaker 1: when they kept cutting the Mike White sobbing, I just
- 45:50Speaker 1: like that was that was that was one of the
- 45:52Speaker 1: most amazing things. I just like that she was like
- 45:55Speaker 1: and they were like, hey you, Jennifer, what about when
- 46:00Speaker 1: she's like my neighbor And Okay, I didn't know there
- 46:07Speaker 1: were so many parties on my street, but in fighting
- 46:11Speaker 1: me to parties now. And then Keys freaking acceptance, Yeah,
- 46:19Speaker 1: when he thanks Spielberg short Brown from freaking Indiana Jones,
- 46:23Speaker 1: that was so moving and not only is pointing out Spielberg,
- 46:26Speaker 1: but just talking about how he thought his career was over.
- 46:28Speaker 1: He thought that's all would ever happen. And if you
- 46:32Speaker 1: haven't seen it, listeners, go go YouTube. At least that
- 46:35Speaker 1: that was so moving, and so was Jennifer Coolidge's was.
- 46:39Speaker 1: You know. My favorite part was though, when Mike White
- 46:41Speaker 1: was up there and he gets He's like, listener, I
- 46:43Speaker 1: haven't any food because the food was gone, so I'm drunk.
- 46:46Speaker 1: But then he points at all and he goes, you
- 46:48Speaker 1: all passed, meanings like all the actors had passed on
- 46:52Speaker 1: all the roles in the thing. You didn't see that, Daniel, No,
- 46:57Speaker 1: it was so funny. He's like he's like, he's like,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I want to thank the amazing casts we have, but
- 47:02Speaker 1: let's just be honest. He starts pointing at all the
- 47:06Speaker 1: celebrities in the audience. He's like, you all passed. That's funny.
- 47:15Speaker 1: You know, I really hope they can get it back
- 47:17Speaker 1: on track. I know that, I know that. You know,
- 47:20Speaker 1: there's a lot of things that need to change as
- 47:22Speaker 1: far as Hollywood foreign press goes. You know, there are
- 47:27Speaker 1: a lot of I would say, you know, I don't
- 47:31Speaker 1: think it represents people very well yet and eventually it will.
- 47:38Speaker 1: But as far as as far as the show goes,
- 47:41Speaker 1: that ship was very entertaining, and I think the cringe
- 47:44Speaker 1: that you were talking about was part of the entertainment.
- 47:47Speaker 1: It was enough for me to stay and watch, like
- 47:49Speaker 1: I wonder what girage is going to say next. But
- 47:51Speaker 1: some of the cringe, I mean, I just mean, like,
- 47:54Speaker 1: like this poor piano player, right, so they decided to
- 47:57Speaker 1: have an amazing lead talented piano player. And what's weird
- 48:01Speaker 1: about that unless it's canned music that just comes on.
- 48:04Speaker 1: People start directing their their ire about being played off
- 48:08Speaker 1: to this woman, like it was her decision to be
- 48:10Speaker 1: like and now I'll start playing. And I just thought
- 48:13Speaker 1: that was so uncomfortable. It's like, guys, she's being cued
- 48:16Speaker 1: to start playing. It still was hilarious when when it
- 48:20Speaker 1: was her name was Michelle Yo says, hey, stop playing
- 48:23Speaker 1: that piano. I could kick your egg. And it's like
- 48:26Speaker 1: funny until this morning because I followed the piano player
- 48:28Speaker 1: on IG and she was talking about, you know, just
- 48:31Speaker 1: it's a big, big opportunity for her to play it.
- 48:34Speaker 1: What did she say? Because I felt bad for her,
- 48:36Speaker 1: Like people were directing their anger at her, like like
- 48:39Speaker 1: she has anything to do with someone in her ears,
- 48:41Speaker 1: saying start playing them off. She didn't say anything specific
- 48:43Speaker 1: other than to thank Gerard for coming to speak up
- 48:46Speaker 1: for her. Towards the end of the ceremony, she says
- 48:49Speaker 1: she was grateful for that. Yeah. Well, anyway, it was
- 48:53Speaker 1: that ship was entertaining man, regardless of how, regardless of
- 48:57Speaker 1: you know, whatever it is. And I don't mean entertaining
- 49:00Speaker 1: like what a great show. I mean entertaining like this. Yeah,
- 49:05Speaker 1: I cannot turn this. I cannot have turned away from it.
- 49:07Speaker 1: There were some great speeches. You know who was so
- 49:09Speaker 1: funny was Regina Hall. Yeah she is stand up before something. No,
- 49:14Speaker 1: she's just she was acting like a stand up. No,
- 49:18Speaker 1: she's always she's always been like a lot of people
- 49:22Speaker 1: don't notice, but she's not only is she Uh look,
- 49:26Speaker 1: I know her as a comedic actor and now she's
- 49:28Speaker 1: starting to get her roses, her flowers for being a
- 49:31Speaker 1: dramatic actor. But she's always been a comedic actor. But
- 49:35Speaker 1: when she was clowning on Kevin Costner and she was like,
- 49:38Speaker 1: let's all pray for him. In Santa Barbara with the
- 49:42Speaker 1: mud slides, do you think she had a buzz on
- 49:44Speaker 1: or I couldn't tell if she was just clowning on
- 49:47Speaker 1: just Regina her interviews like she was kind. The clip
- 49:51Speaker 1: and send it to you. There's an interview where she
- 49:52Speaker 1: just starts like no questions are being directed to her.
- 49:55Speaker 1: It's like one of those big cast interviews, so she
- 49:57Speaker 1: just starts flirting with the cast members and pulling from
- 50:01Speaker 1: their questions to the point where they can't answer anymore.
- 50:03Speaker 1: It's so funny. She's just great. She's so nice, she's
- 50:06Speaker 1: always she's always been amazing, so charming, and she had
- 50:10Speaker 1: me rolling like, let's all pray for for him, sheltering
- 50:13Speaker 1: in place and cinema. All right, we gotta go to break.
- 50:18Speaker 1: We promise when we come back we will talk more
- 50:20Speaker 1: about the television show Scrubs. Your sound effects machine will
- 50:25Speaker 1: be right back, and we're back. Everybody likes a little
- 50:35Speaker 1: ass flay. Don't even act like you don't. We are back.
- 50:37Speaker 1: We are back with the legendary Donald phase on Joelle Monique,
- 50:41Speaker 1: who's down to get down? Apparently, Daniel, let's play that
- 50:43Speaker 1: song here we haven't heard in a while. Get the
- 50:46Speaker 1: word out all Joel down, no matter what's between your eggs.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Tomorrow and Joel Oh yeah, and of course DJ Daniel Goodman,
- 51:09Speaker 1: everyone's favorite twitcher. What's your Twitch handle so people can
- 51:14Speaker 1: watch you twitch, Twitch dot tv, slash, DJ Underscore, Daniel
- 51:18Speaker 1: d A n L Live. What are you playing these
- 51:21Speaker 1: what are you playing these days? Um? Well, before we
- 51:23Speaker 1: started recording, I was telling Donald that I just created
- 51:26Speaker 1: my own random trivia game and I've been made attesting that.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Try that last night, So come on, kind of you
- 51:32Speaker 1: could be a contestant. It's Jeopardy random, yeah, kind of style.
- 51:35Speaker 1: So like, look, it could be the easiest question in
- 51:38Speaker 1: the world, or it could be the most hard. It
- 51:41Speaker 1: could be a hard question. Yeah it's a video game,
- 51:44Speaker 1: or you're just doing it as made it, just created
- 51:46Speaker 1: it myself. Yeah, I'm hosting it. But then, so your
- 51:49Speaker 1: Twitch followers, how do they answer in the comment in
- 51:52Speaker 1: the comments section? They answer in the comments. It's like
- 51:54Speaker 1: a little quick fire rounded to a quick fire. The
- 51:56Speaker 1: first person to answer a question then becomes the contestant.
- 51:59Speaker 1: They get on and then, um, you invite them on
- 52:02Speaker 1: the twitch stream. I invite them on the stream. That
- 52:04Speaker 1: sounds fun, It's not bad. Can I tell you something, guys? Sure?
- 52:08Speaker 1: Johnny Depp did bring back the Fedora. Okay, well, let's
- 52:13Speaker 1: give the audience some contexts. If you haven't seen the
- 52:15Speaker 1: episode in a while. Um um, Turk is fascinated with
- 52:19Speaker 1: wearing his new fedora. And by the way, fedoras looked
- 52:23Speaker 1: dumb on a lot of people. But you looked great.
- 52:25Speaker 1: You rock that fedora. Said joke didn't work. The joke
- 52:28Speaker 1: didn't work because you looked great. No, I said, no,
- 52:31Speaker 1: he says. Turk says, I bet I look good in
- 52:33Speaker 1: the Fedora, and then he puts the fedora on. I've
- 52:35Speaker 1: been trying to tell Spielberg and Lucas that ship for years.
- 52:42Speaker 1: I could be Indiana Jones is illegitimate, son, you know
- 52:45Speaker 1: what I mean. I'm sure, don't you think India over
- 52:49Speaker 1: the years, uh probably has some children he doesn't know about. Absolutely,
- 52:54Speaker 1: And then and then and the and the young boy
- 52:56Speaker 1: goes by Alabama Jackson obviously already there. He was like,
- 53:01Speaker 1: I'm not gonna use the Ardie gave in Black Storm Tripper.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Why don't you They're gonna take this from you too. No,
- 53:09Speaker 1: I listen, You're gonna hear like, now Donald Donald Glover
- 53:14Speaker 1: is Alabama Jackson. Oh my god, that's oh my god.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my god, my heart just dropped
- 53:23Speaker 1: so deeper to my chest. Oh that would be that's
- 53:27Speaker 1: a nightmare. That's god. Yo. Look I've seen Listen now,
- 53:32Speaker 1: I'm about to digress, but I've seen the trailer for
- 53:34Speaker 1: Indiana Jones, and that shit looks for phenomenal. I can't wait, man, Sorry,
- 53:39Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead. They find a way to make
- 53:41Speaker 1: me fucking because Crystal Skull was shit now, but they
- 53:45Speaker 1: found a way to make me care once again about
- 53:49Speaker 1: Indiana Jones. All right, let's find I was gonna take
- 53:52Speaker 1: us down another worm hole, but let's go ahead. You
- 53:54Speaker 1: were gonna say about Harrison Ford. Go on, I'm listen.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna say I was blessed enough because I am
- 53:59Speaker 1: hosting a panel at the Pailey Center in New York
- 54:02Speaker 1: for Shrinking at the end of the month. I think
- 54:04Speaker 1: it's the twenty fourth audience if you care. If you care,
- 54:09Speaker 1: you can google and look and come. But the cast
- 54:13Speaker 1: of Shrinking is doing a Paley Center panel, and I
- 54:16Speaker 1: am the Modern Water with a producer, writer Bill Lawrence,
- 54:22Speaker 1: and Brett Goldstein and Neil Goldman and and all the casts.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I'm not positive Harrison's coming, but at the very least
- 54:30Speaker 1: all the other amazing cast members are coming. So anyway,
- 54:33Speaker 1: I just have to say, and everyone's gonna say I'm
- 54:35Speaker 1: biased because I love Bill and I directed one of
- 54:38Speaker 1: the episodes, but I had the privilege of watching the
- 54:42Speaker 1: ten episodes of the show, and I'm not just saying this.
- 54:45Speaker 1: It's fucking amazing. Yes, it's so good. Jessica Williams is
- 54:51Speaker 1: one of the stars with Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Krista Miller.
- 54:57Speaker 1: So Michael yuriy is in it. Um, it's it's it's
- 55:02Speaker 1: really really good. It's and it's the Bill specialty. You
- 55:05Speaker 1: are laughing one second and swiping tears the next. Oh no,
- 55:09Speaker 1: it is so good, you guys, So get ready for shrinking.
- 55:12Speaker 1: It's coming end of end of January. Nice, all right.
- 55:17Speaker 1: So Dun Dun Dune scrubs ted bit off his tongue
- 55:22Speaker 1: and we can see him. The women have prescribed pain
- 55:25Speaker 1: killers and we see him in the back chugging painkillers.
- 55:28Speaker 1: We know that's way too much. Yeah, that's way too
- 55:30Speaker 1: much right there. They tell him, say one every like
- 55:32Speaker 1: six hours, and we just see him like doing shots
- 55:35Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, that's that's not a good. But if
- 55:37Speaker 1: you've bit off your tongue. I mean you you're probably
- 55:40Speaker 1: in a lot of pain. Yeah, but that's but that's
- 55:43Speaker 1: too much. That's that's that's way too much. Jordan gives
- 55:46Speaker 1: them some advice. She says, you know, you know, you
- 55:49Speaker 1: know what is her advice. She says, you gotta rally everybody.
- 55:53Speaker 1: But you're not gonna you're not gonna get caught because
- 55:55Speaker 1: he's not gonna change his mind. But she tells them
- 55:58Speaker 1: that look, there's a board meaning and if you really
- 56:00Speaker 1: are going to try, you got to rally some some
- 56:03Speaker 1: folks around the hospital who care. And they're they're having
- 56:07Speaker 1: a very hard time finding anybody who cares. Well. They
- 56:09Speaker 1: also did well. They found somebody early on and they
- 56:12Speaker 1: dissed him because of his job and his what he
- 56:17Speaker 1: does at the hospital. But they didn't realize that the
- 56:20Speaker 1: janitor is the fucking plug, yo, and that's the one
- 56:23Speaker 1: that's gonna get you connected to everything. Right, And then
- 56:27Speaker 1: they had to come back and well they didn't have
- 56:30Speaker 1: to kiss ass. All Elliott had to say was please
- 56:33Speaker 1: janitor and he was like, all right, I'll do it. Yeah,
- 56:35Speaker 1: because he's obsessed with Elliott, because he continues because he
- 56:39Speaker 1: loves he loves her and all she has to say
- 56:42Speaker 1: is pleased and smile, and he's he's back into help.
- 56:45Speaker 1: So the janitor, although I don't think the janitor ends
- 56:48Speaker 1: up really helping, does he doesn't. He doesn't, He can't
- 56:50Speaker 1: rally anybody, turns out that it's really Cox that's going
- 56:54Speaker 1: to bring everybody together. Right, But I forgot if there
- 56:56Speaker 1: was was there ever an end of the story of
- 56:57Speaker 1: the janitor or even trying because he didn't know. He
- 57:00Speaker 1: didn't get Crazy Eyes Margo. He didn't get He didn't
- 57:03Speaker 1: get the Todd Yeah, he didn't get you didn't get
- 57:05Speaker 1: any of the Trust Trust group. What does they? What
- 57:08Speaker 1: does he call his advisors the brain Trust? The brain Trust?
- 57:11Speaker 1: Thank you? He didn't get any of the brain trut
- 57:13Speaker 1: He didn't even get ted. What about that guy that
- 57:15Speaker 1: he took the egg salad bath with Troy? Troy, he
- 57:17Speaker 1: didn't get him? What about um Marty? Also, what's what's
- 57:21Speaker 1: is Lloyd? Lloyd wasn't there? Yeah, nobody. I don't know
- 57:26Speaker 1: why the janitor was unable to come up with anybody
- 57:28Speaker 1: and that story was just abandoned. The janitor failed big time. Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: Now um okay, Elliot has developed well that hasn't developed
- 57:38Speaker 1: for some reason. Elliot believes that if you call somebody slick,
- 57:41Speaker 1: they'll do anything for you. Yes, yes, and she says
- 57:44Speaker 1: it works on guy doctors and lesbians. Yes yes, he
- 57:51Speaker 1: says people enjoy being called slick and uh and she
- 57:55Speaker 1: says it to a woman who we can infirm must
- 57:58Speaker 1: be a lesbian because Elliott's theory works and the woman
- 58:02Speaker 1: smiles when she's called slick. I do like being called slick.
- 58:07Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I don't know if I like
- 58:10Speaker 1: being called slick. Sure, if it's by the right person,
- 58:12Speaker 1: you love it. If Tommy Lee Jones calls you slick,
- 58:14Speaker 1: you're gonna be like. I was still afraid of Tommily
- 58:19Speaker 1: Jones were making a movie together, and I just I
- 58:22Speaker 1: just stayed away from him. I was so scared of him.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Such a presence, not that he was anything other than
- 58:30Speaker 1: kind to me, but he was just such a dominant,
- 58:32Speaker 1: dominating presence. And he's such a movie star. You know.
- 58:36Speaker 1: That's me. But every movie I make, I'm scared of
- 58:38Speaker 1: every actor. I don't talk to any of the actors.
- 58:40Speaker 1: That's bull yo, Whoopie Goldberg. When we were doing Homeless,
- 58:45Speaker 1: Pimoni made it so that we could have She made
- 58:48Speaker 1: it look this Italian lady was so not in love
- 58:53Speaker 1: but like infatuated whoop Whoopi Goldberg. She closed her Italian
- 58:58Speaker 1: Delhi down early so she could make a lunch for
- 59:02Speaker 1: Whoopee and her friends, and Whoope was like, Donald, you
- 59:04Speaker 1: come with me to this lunch and I was like okay,
- 59:07Speaker 1: and then I hid. I hid, is you were afraid
- 59:10Speaker 1: of Whoopee because I didn't want to sit down and
- 59:12Speaker 1: have a conversation. I just wanted to sit in my
- 59:14Speaker 1: trailer and snap, yes, you see what I'm saying. So
- 59:18Speaker 1: that's bad though, because like you know, you want to
- 59:20Speaker 1: savor those moments where you could have what we could
- 59:24Speaker 1: look To me, she was like, you the biggest punk
- 59:26Speaker 1: I've ever met in my life. I am. I am
- 59:32Speaker 1: a punk. Whoopee. You're right, And from that day forward,
- 59:35Speaker 1: I made my I made it my business to never
- 59:38Speaker 1: do that again. So like, if Denzel you want to
- 59:41Speaker 1: hang out again, you want to hang out, shit, well
- 59:45Speaker 1: shoot all of you. Everybody Back in the day who
- 59:48Speaker 1: I was telling me you better not be telling me.
- 59:51Speaker 1: There's an anecdote where Denzel asked you to hang out
- 59:53Speaker 1: and you hit there is no anecdote where there is
- 59:57Speaker 1: no anecdote that would be the would I could never
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: do that. Listen. There's a really random shot in this
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: that I texted to the group because I just wanted
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: to be able to talk about it. There's a moment
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: when Kelso is just talking about the hospital and he's
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: talking about remembering all of the people that he's lost
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: over the years, and he says something the effective I'm
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: sure they're all looking back at me, they said, and
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I see them still, right. But he's talking about the
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: dead deceased patients. But if you look, if audience would
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: be posited at ten thirty four, ten minutes thirty four
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: seconds in what you see actually in the upper one
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: of the upper windows, barely seen. It's like an easter egg.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Is the cast, the key cast, standing there looking down
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: at them. It was very very subtle, and I don't
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: know how many people noticed it ever, But I, of
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: course am watching it on a computer monitor very close
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: to my face, so I saw it. It was an
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: artist It was an art. It was an artistic choice
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: by Rick Blue. But why would the cast be in
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: the picture. I don't really understand it. I think that
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: they're looking I guess they're looking down on him lovingly.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I don't think it's in the real world. I think
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: it's in Kelsel's imagination that his key co workers are
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: looking down on him lovingly. I don't know. I have
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: another rationalization for it. I don't know. Or is it
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: that they're all dead He's the only one that lived well.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: That would be a twist that doesn't really pay off,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: but a twist, all right. So I want to just
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: read to you briefly. I'll keep it quick. But this
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: this thing that he says to Boon about one of
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: his anecdotes. He says, when I was an intern, they
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: made us work sixty hour shifts. Quite a few colleagues
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: got drummed up because they couldn't cope. The rest of
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: us were so sleep deprived we could barely manage to
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: stay sane. I'll never forget the day we caught Seth
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Finkel gently cradling a cadaver head, which he swore belonged
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: to his ex girlfriend, Millie. Then he laughs. A year later,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Seth actually did kill Milly. Ironically, Millie donated her body
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: to sign and that spring we caught another intern cradling
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: her deadhead and then he laughs and goes life's little cycles.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: So that's some twisted, weird shit. That was the first
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: that that's actually his first monologue that he talks about.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: That's his first story that he gives. Oh, I didn't
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: know where it fell. I just remember thinking like, oh
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: my god, I have to find that on the interwebs.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: He has a bunch of the pregnant girl. That's his
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: next one. Yeah, and you know, so they lose the
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: urine and they Cox has given them urine to to
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: from the mysterious patient that can't seem to solve his
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: his problem, and Cox gives them the urin to go
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: get tested, like, be useful, go get this tested well.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: JD and Turk aer on all their weird usual as
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: they digress like us, as they digress like us, and
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: somehow on all their adventures. It's amazing that these guys
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: in the world of the show are considered amazing doctors
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: because are they doing so much of the day. But anyway,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: they lose the urine and Jad leaves it on the
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: banister of the back ramp of the hospital, which seems
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: very irresponsible, but thank god he knocks it over. Nobody
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: touches it. Nobody grabs it. It's the emergency entrance. It's
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: the emergency entrance to the hospital. And Jady leaves a
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: vial of urine sitting there, but thank goodness he does
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: because the UV light turns it purple. And now they're
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: so excited they're able to diagnose. And Turk, wearing his Fedoras, says,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna I say, I'm gonna google purple pee and
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: you go google Google that shit. But you got to
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: say google that shit, now you do, There's no way,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: He says, google that shit. Oh, what do you say that?
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I thought that's how I remembered it. You probably went
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: google it. What did you say? Yeah? It was funny anyway,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I laughed out loud. It's funny. And now it turns
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: out on scrumbs Wiki were pronouncing this disease wrong, which
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: is way to go Trevor, which nobody cares. Only Trevor did.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Nobody gave a shit until Trevor did. That's like somebody
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: saying phaseon fison. Well, I'd give a shit about that.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Never mind. All right, well, listen all the medical professionals
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: who know the correct pronunciation, we're probably pissed off. So
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: here it is, although JD has pronounced it correctly in
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a previous episode. Because this was in a previous episode,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: both JD and Doctor Cox pronounced acute intermittent porphyria incorrectly.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: They pronounced the last part porphyria while it is pronounced porphyria.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: So it's porphyria acute intermittent porphyria. Everybody who's learning, if
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: you're a doctor, if our doctor in training, you now
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: know you learn something on fake doctor's real friends. There
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: you go. I'm so glad we cleared that up. Guys. Um,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: what about when we beat box and you make a
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: melody and it's the Scrubs theme song? That was pretty meta.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: That was pretty cool. How About eighty five was supposed
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: to be a good year for Bob kelso turns out
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: it wasn't. How about Carla's boobs look like a sea animal? Yeah,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: let's talk about that. So Turk Turk says that Carla's
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: he prefers Carla's left boob because it looks like a
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: sea lion's face, a sea lion's face. Yes, And then
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: JD says it does Turk drew it for me, yes,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: which is so random as hell. But then it really
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: pays off when when offers to show doctor Cox the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: picture and he bob and he holds up the picture
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: from boofing does look like a sea lion? Why does
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: her boob look like a sea lion? Does it have whiskers?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I didn't want to say anything, but I guess it does.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I guess it has whiskers and a mole on it. Yes,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: it has two moles, and her ariola must have some
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: whiskers on it. I can't believe Judy wasn't like, fuck, no,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: that is not my breast. Listen, NA, be honest with you.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I'm not going to turn down a boob that looks
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: like a sea lion. Really, if my wife had a
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: boob that looked like a sea lion, I'll be like
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you wouldn't say honey, every say honey, let me grab
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: this whisker real quick. No, I'd be I've talked to
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the sea lion. Oh oh, I love sea lions. So cute, Joel,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I send Joelle so many um we like. We both
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: like um bulldogs and Staffordshire Terriers and any kind of
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: bulldog and and looks like a bulldog. Yes, they're similar
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: looking between a staff and a and a sea lion.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: They're like, cousins, do you know what the cutest animal
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: on the planet is? Baby sea lion, a baby seal
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: baby or sea otter. Sorry, I'm thinking of a sea otter.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: And so, when Cox finally explains the diagon to the patient,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: he's relieving. He smiles and he says, knowing what it
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: is you. Cox is like, why are you smiling? And
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: he says, because knowing what it is makes it's so
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: much easier to deal with, which gives Cox kind of
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: an epiphany because he's been reluctant to help with saving
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Kelso's job, and he realizes that the enemy he knows
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: is better than the one he doesn't, and he knows
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: how to handle. He knows how to work Kelso and
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: get what he wants. Well, I'm gonna say this, I
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: agree with that though one hundred percent. Man when it
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: comes to ailments. That is because I remember I had
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: like this tickle in the back of my throat. I
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: thought it, I couldn't I didn't know what it was,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: and I was freaking out and I was going crazy
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: about it and everything. And I went to the ear
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: nose and throat doctor and turns out I had acid reflux.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: And I didn't know that acid reflux could show up
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: in that form where it doesn't feel like a burning
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: sensation in your throat. It feels like you have an obstruction, right,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: And so just to know that alone and when it
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: happens now instead of me being like, oh, you know
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: what I mean, you instantly go to you have like
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: something really bad, I think, well, I don't think I'm
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: alone in this situation. I think, like, that's most Americans.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: It's just a lot of Americans are scared to go
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: to the doctor and find out what's going on with it. Right.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I was on WebMD like like going down a rabbit
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: hole with my diagnosis, which I had. No doctor's love
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: when you do that, but I had lots of theories
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: on what I had. That's the best when you go
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: into the doctor's office. It's like, all right, look, so
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I was on web end. This is what I think
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: it is. I think it's right this. But if it's
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: not that, then it's definitely diverticulitis. But if it's not diverticulitis,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: it's probably just strepp I know, but I have Indeed
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: my ship. I went deep. I went deep on like
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I was like so proud of myself. I had evidence
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: to bring to him. I was like, look at the
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: pictures and look at this, and look at this and
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: look at this. And he was like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yea,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: I think it's just strap but yeah, I was like no, no, no,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: look look and my evidence. You know that, You know
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: that that classic meme of I think it's from Its
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Sunny right with the guy with where he's pointing it
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: at the crazy map of evidence he's blow on his wall. Yeah,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I was like that with all my all right, we're
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: almost done. So then we then Kelso goes to the
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: meeting and no one has turned up. But then we
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: cut back into a full circle. Cox has brought everyone
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: on the love train and we see all the key
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: uh people from the hospital. The doctors are riding on
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the love train and Snoop Dogg is riding with earphones
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: and sad yeah face yeah it's yeah. You know, everybody
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: shows up for Kelso at the end and convince could
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: they convince the board to let Kelso stay on? But
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: throughout the whole episode, you know, Kelso's talking about how
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: much he loves the hospital, but he's also talking about
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: how he just wished that, you know, it's not that
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: he's getting fired, just wish that he could leave on
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: his terms, right, you know, exactly. And when the staff
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: shows up for him, they convinced the board that he
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: should stay. And this gives Kelso the opportunity to leave
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: on his terms exactly. And he says, shoving up your ass, Rodney, Rodney,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: and then and then that's a funny name, man, I'm sorry, Rodney.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: And then he grabs his own his own portrait off
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: the wall, yes, and takes a little tiny thing that
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: bothered me was that there was a lamp that's on
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: the portrait right, m because it has like a portrait
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: lamp on the frame. And when he pulls it off
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the wall, there's no wiring or anything related to the lamp.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: It couldn't be battery operated. Who would no, Okay, Still,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: it was just bothered me. I wanted to see take
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: that up with Patrick. I would have. I guess the
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: easiest thing would have been to just delete for the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: scene the lamp so you don't have to deal with
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: the problem of it. But if you're gonna have the lamp,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: we need to see a wire that needs to be cut.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: You need to rip out of the wall. You need
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: to take this up with set dressing. Yeah, somebody fucked up.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: It's sort of a crossover between if you a second
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: he touches it donald that becomes a prop. So it's
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: a crossover between set dressing and props. It's me specialty.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: We let's hear about another song that every America loves.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: What you're trying to get into one day, shoon what
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: you're trying to do. Have you seen this young lady
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: on Instagram who who does lip sync to our podcast?
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: She's amazing, She's very funny. I hope she. I hope
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: she lip syncs this little doozy right here, ladocious. Yeah,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I think he should have lip sync us talking about
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: you because you're very funny. And I don't even know
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: her name, but I know she's funny. Well, she puts
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: a lot of work in. She definitely puts a lot
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: of work in. She's really good at it too. Yeah,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna give her a shout outlets. I hope she
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: does this section right here and does a little dance
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: at this point right here where she does like a
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: little give her something, give her something like a little
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: like a little shoulder dance, a little shoulder dance. Give
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: her something hard to work off of, you know, give
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: her a challenge. Here's my little should to dance. I
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: don't know if that's a challenge or not. It's a
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: challenge because she's got a lip sync all oh, here
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: she is. Her her instagram is Chico Artist, Chico Artist,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: c h I CEO artist and um. She does these
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: lip sync videos of where she plays both Donald and
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I and then this last one Joel you did you
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: see that? Yes? I did? She did my laugh. It
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: was cute. Yeah, all right, So everybody check her out
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: because she puts a lot of time into it and
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: it makes it she may she may me laugh And
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Daniel Fields left out? Yeah, and could you with Chico Artist?
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Would you mind doing Daniel? You know, Dan, say something
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: so you can be in this segment. Never mind, I've
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: tried to do something clever. I've tried to think something
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: clever to say. That's all she needed, That's all she'll now,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: she'll do. You. Oh you honor me? He said you
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: he said, catch phrase or me? He said, you're talking
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: about Willis catch phrase. Gotta we gotta make it hard
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: for her. Tried doing this. You you honor me, all
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: right to ass play one? Yeah, do this one? Ready,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: hold on, I gotta go back to that. I'm like
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: a fortress over here. All right, here we go, whether
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: it be taking the poop, whether it be a finger,
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: whether it be a tongue, whether you know everybody likes
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: little ass fla. Hey, Chico artists, you can opt out
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: of that one, because we don't want to make you
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: talk about as play if you're uncomfortable. Everybody does like Okay,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Donald's focus. All right, I think that's the show. We're gonna,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: We're gonna, We're gonna, Joel, we do we have um
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: some Okay, we have some pitches. Do we need a
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: break or no? Hell yeah? All right, we're gonna take
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: a break and we're gonna end the show, and we
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: come back with two pitches that are gonna make you laugh. Okay, Zac,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I love you don't like that? Don't love she? Don't
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: love you like that? She didn't go to Vegas because
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I wasn't going here. We go heart and broke. Yo,
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: know that I got Look, I got abandoned. Joel, you
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: need to check with your wife, because check the sound
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: of the story was bullshit. Now, no, that's bullshit, dude.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Let me tell you something right now, Joel. First you
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: abandoned me, we peeled off in we peeled off, and
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: then guess who abandoned me after that? My own wife. Yeah,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I was down bad. It was awful. I was. I
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: don't know if it's growing around, but that was the
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: worst stop I ever had in the hold. For sure,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I need to go to vagab Bob Pittman and John me.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Bob Pittman and John Sykes did it big. On a
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: private plane coming back, they told me I should watch
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: this movie called Triangle of Sadness. Yeah, I probably that's
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: movie really good. Yeah, I'm gonna check that out. It's
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: really good, but you won't like it. I won't like it, Okay.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: So for then, we have two types for those of you,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: just to remind you what's happening. We have pitches for
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: TV concepts that Donald and I should explore next, and
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: we also have movie concepts. Yes, and we also have
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: pitches for what this podcast should become once we're out
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: of Scrubs episodes, because we're rapidly running out. We're in
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: the middle of season seven and we only have nine seasons.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: In season seven, we really really Yeah, it's a really
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: short one. Oh because of the strike, was only ten episodes.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: It's only ten episodes. Oh boy, oh running, we are
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: running out of them. We gotta we gotta do a
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: tour next with season eight because we're that's hurrying me
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: our last year. That's what I wanted to talk to
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: these guys about. Also, dude, we're gonna do this tour.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: This is I want to get a tour bus and
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: our faces will be on the side of the tour bus. Joel,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: what is the first one? We have a podcast pitch
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: from Dan Batty, Dan Batty, damn Beatty, damn beatty. Take that,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Take that, Take that, Damn Patty, damn Beatty. Damp Here
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: we go, Hey, Zack and Donald and Danel and Joel
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: as well. This is done all the way from the UK.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: So here's my pitch for what you guys should do
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: after you finish your Scrubs rewatch. I think that I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: speak for everyone when I say that we're gonna want
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: more Scrubs. So my idea that you guys write your
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: own Scrubs audio plays and then perform them in character
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: as Turk and j D. And then if you can
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: get Sarah Backers, Elliott and Judy Backers, Carlo, et cetera,
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: et cetera. I think that would be awesome, you know,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: and the episode of the podcast could be you guys
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: coming up with ideas for what the audio plays going
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: to be that week and writing gags and coming up
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: with storylines, and you know, you could do like Nurse
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Roberts above ground pool party for example, or JD and
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Elliott's wedding, and the guest on the podcast that week
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: could be you know, an ex Scrubs writer or maybe
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Bill or you know Neil Flynn. He's great improv get
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: him involved as well. You know, it's just while you
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: guys are waiting for Bill to be free again, so
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: so we can get that Scrubs reunion. This could be
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: a great way of getting more more Scrubs content in
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: our lives, and I think we'd all we'd all love
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: that as much as the current format the podcast already is.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: So yeah, I hope you guys are okay. Bye, Damn pitty,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: damn pity, damn dam damn damn bit um something we
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: allowed to do that, damn betty Um. It's very very
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: it's a very good idea, but we're not allowed to use.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I don't think the characters because we're not on the
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Walt Disney Corporation. But just like Mickey Mouse, just like
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Mickey Mouse. Although I didn't his copyright expire Mickey, I
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: imagine the Mickey Mouse cop be right, is renewed at
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: some point too. I imagine I thought there was some
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: funny thing where it was expired by accident or something
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: or no, a certain amounting years. Yeah, after a hundred years,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I think one hundred years, it has become public domain.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: So what it is is the original Mickey design you
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: could use, but they re up. They just like this
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: designs a little shiny or this, you know what I mean.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: They'll just update a little bit. So mostly Mickey is
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: still protected by Disney. But but if I wanted to,
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: I could make a T shirt with the original Mickey
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: and be allowed to sell it. I think that's correct.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: It's my understanding of things. I want to get to
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: work today. Bear Murder movies speaking speaking, right, that's right,
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: speaking of copyright. I did not know what this whole
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Ghostbuster situation. Man, holy shit, did you know that Ghostbusters
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: the song is like been stolen by like so many
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: different people like it's been no, No, that's not what
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: it is. Yeah, it has So apparently Huey Lewis was
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: supposed to do the Ghostbuster song and he didn't do
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: the Ghostbuster song and it gave it to Ray Parker Junior.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: But I think Huey Lewis had written the who You're
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Gonna Call part and Ray Parker adds his part, and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Huey Lewis sues Ray Parker Junior. But in the depth
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: of in the case, he's not allowed to talk about
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: suing Ray Parker Junior. And in an interview later on,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: Huey Lewis then goes to talk about suing Ray Parker Junior.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: And now Ray Parker Junior gets all the money for
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: the Ghostbuster song. But this all goes back to a
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: song that they say Huey Lewis stole the Ghostbuster song
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: from anyway. Yeah, but it's like this, if you google,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: if you confuse, just google this and you'll find it.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: But someone did a comparison of all three songs. The
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Huey Lewis won the Ray Parker Junior is that his name? Yes,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: And then there's the third song and it's it's a
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: big mess, just like Donald's talking about it's all a
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: mess and a lot of money was floating around. But
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: that's what happened to a kid. I was a kid.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Huey Lewis was the jam, Oh dude, come on man,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: I gotta go back in tying Dan Dan Dan Dan
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Dan Dan Dad Dan but no money. There was an
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I think the album was called Sports True. Yes it's true,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: so happy too and I can't see I can't see that.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Joe Hippe with me. What was the music video on
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: the beach down? Do you remember which song that was?
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: I thought that was that one. Oh I got a
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: new drug. I want a new drug. There was like
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: that he wants a new drug. I want a new drug. Anyway,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: everyone gonna listen to Huey Lewis's album Sports Magical. Okay,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: so um dan biddy, very good idea, We're I don't
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: think we're legally allowed to do that. I don't think
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: that's possible, but um but very good. Very I will
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: say this, the audience from what I'm gathering, the audience
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: just wants more scrubs so far. Yeah, unlike TLC Daniel,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I have a question for you. You're very you're very
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: tech savvy, and there's a lot of people using one
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: of these AI programs to to to print out funny
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: material chat GPT Yeah, could we have chat g bt
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: um crank out a scene of scrubs and then and
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: then read it is that possible? I'm gonna try it
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: right now. All right, let's see what happens. You say
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: turk and j d uh scrub scene and see what
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: it puts out. It's really crazy. This, this this AI
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: thing is really crazy because now the design the designs
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: are yours. I guess if you design a picture, if
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: you put the picture and it's I don't know how
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: this works, man, Like this AI is doing everybody. You
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: see the baby one. You see the baby one of
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: you is really cute. It didn't look like me though,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: a little bit, not even a little bit. That's the listen.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: I'm the one member in the cast that everybody gets
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: wrong in the fucking art situation. I didn't know I
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: was that difficult to draw. Everybody fucks my face up.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: I've been Yeah, it is. Some of these drawings, man,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: motherfucker had me looking like the Mexican Charles Barkley, like
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: straight up like and then had the nerve to be
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: like and tag me and that shit you didn't look
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: like you either, but still like it's like some of
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: these pictures are always it's always they get you right
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: and then me it's fucked up, like I look like
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: somebody else. But we appreciate the right I've never been
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: right yet, They've never gotten me right yet. I want
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: to say, on me, off of both of us, we
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: very much appreciate the art. I appreciate it, but stop
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: making me look like Sam Jackson, Like, what the fuck? Daniel?
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: Did anything come out? Chat? GPT is at capacity right now?
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Apparently people are using it at this All right, well, Daniel,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: could you work on that and if by chance, if
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: by chance it puts something out, we will perform that.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: I think we can perform that on the show. Great, Okay,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: what's next? All right? What's next? To all? Here's your
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: last one? It comes from Adam Knight, Zack Donald, Joel
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: of course and a Dieter. Daniel names Adam Knight from
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: when it they get Canada up here in the frozen
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: Great White North. I'm not going to talk about Stubbies
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: or Abel Syrup, but I am going to talk about
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: a potential movie pitch so if you guys are ready,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: grab yourself as a stubby. I'm damnit de sid. I
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: wouldn't do it anyways. Zach and Donald are nightclub promoters
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: who tour from city to city, bringing value and life
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: to clubs that are losing their luster. Everything is great
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: for these two party boys until they arrive in Detroit,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: where the club they are hired to spice up becomes
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: the scene of a Hong Kong action style assassination. Our
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: boys are caught on camera fleeing the scene by the
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: victims of the assault, the perpetrators of the assault, and
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: the local police force. In order to clear their names
