- 0:00Speaker 1: Ben Higgins and Ashley.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I bring you Infamous. Sometimes roses are red flags.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Welcome to Infamous, because sometimes roses are red flags. Our
- 0:12Speaker 3: story begins with Sidney Gordon, you know or from Joey season,
- 0:17Speaker 3: from her feud with Maria. Sidney, Welcome to the podcast.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Thank you for having me.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Ben.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Sydney's a little bit of a little nervous about talking
- 0:28Speaker 2: to Ben. Because Ben was a little nervous. We'll just
- 0:33Speaker 2: put it out there. Sometimes I think when you admit
- 0:35Speaker 2: the nerves, it makes you feel a little relieved. So
- 0:40Speaker 2: this podcast has really been a year in the making.
- 0:44Speaker 2: We've wanted Sydney on for quite some time. Because I
- 0:48Speaker 2: nominated Sydney to go on the show. I thought she
- 0:50Speaker 2: would be great, and I texted the producers as soon
- 0:53Speaker 2: as they announced Joey was the Bachelor because that was
- 0:55Speaker 2: the only guy that she was interested in possibly going
- 0:58Speaker 2: on the show for. And then she became well, a
- 1:03Speaker 2: villain of sorts to the audience, really unexpected to both
- 1:06Speaker 2: of us.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You did say I would be prod for the show,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and you technically weren't wrong.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Just didn't know that was the caricature you'd fall into.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But yeah, so Ben was not easy on Sydney when
- 1:17Speaker 2: we would do our recaps last year of Joey's season.
- 1:20Speaker 2: We've wanted her on, like I said, for a whole year,
- 1:23Speaker 2: but Warner Brothers nZk, the production company, they didn't want
- 1:27Speaker 2: Sidney to do interviews. And now she is out of
- 1:30Speaker 2: contract and allowed to do interviews without approval and we
- 1:33Speaker 2: have her here today. Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'm so excited, And honestly, I think everything happens for
- 1:39Speaker 1: a reason. It's a good thing that I didn't go
- 1:43Speaker 1: on the show a year and a half ago because
- 1:45Speaker 1: my approach would have been so differently. And I've definitely
- 1:48Speaker 1: had a lot of self discovery and growth in the
- 1:53Speaker 1: year and a half and I probably would have left
- 1:57Speaker 1: the podcast not feeling good, and obviously I wanted to
- 2:00Speaker 1: be completely different this time around.
- 2:02Speaker 3: We want you to feel good, Sydney. Don't be nervous.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Oh thanks, Ben.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Let's just be honest.
- 2:08Speaker 1: How about that?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Okay, let's be honest. I want to start before we
- 2:12Speaker 3: get into all the nitty gritty and all the things
- 2:15Speaker 3: that viewers watched, and allow you the space to tell
- 2:19Speaker 3: your story. I want to ask, are you thankful that
- 2:24Speaker 3: Ashley signed you up for this show? Or do you
- 2:27Speaker 3: look at Ashley as somebody that walked you into one
- 2:29Speaker 3: of the worst decisions of your life.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So no, I would definitely say that I'm thankful for
- 2:39Speaker 1: that experience. I made some friends that I will have
- 2:43Speaker 1: for the rest of my life, and I definitely think
- 2:47Speaker 1: I came out on top in the end from it. Yeah, No,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm definitely thankful for the experience for sure.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad that you're not mad at me. I
- 2:57Speaker 2: do feel guilt time and time again. But now do
- 3:01Speaker 2: you why do you feel like you came out on top?
- 3:05Speaker 1: So I mean, I I mean, I'm gonna throw astrology
- 3:08Speaker 1: out there, ma Lea. I love attention and I like
- 3:13Speaker 1: having people, you know, like me, and I always was
- 3:18Speaker 1: seeking like validation from other people. And obviously, like when
- 3:23Speaker 1: the whole world it felt like hated me, I had
- 3:26Speaker 1: no choice but to just be like true to myself
- 3:30Speaker 1: and just be okay with knowing who I am, you know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and the people that actually care about me know who
- 3:38Speaker 1: I am. So I think with that, you know, with that,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and also I think it became a more well rounded
- 3:45Speaker 1: person and understand other people better.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Okay, Well that's good, Yeah, good, that's good.
- 3:53Speaker 3: The interesting part of this is that actually just said
- 3:56Speaker 3: she feels guilt. Yes, yeah, I was the one that
- 3:59Speaker 3: was tough on you on this show obviously Ashley just
- 4:03Speaker 3: the experience I feel.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Guilt for, like for having Ashley. She had to dig
- 4:07Speaker 1: herself out of a hole.
- 4:12Speaker 2: No, no, no, you.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Had to like constantly be like no, like I see
- 4:19Speaker 1: her side though, and like, you know, you didn't want
- 4:21Speaker 1: to you know break you know your NBA underny of
- 4:25Speaker 1: that because I was telling you things that probably shouldn't know.
- 4:29Speaker 1: But no, Ben, I mean, you definitely took the popular vote,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know, the easy route.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So interesting. The easy route is fine.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I'll take that.
- 4:42Speaker 3: It was maybe the the more uh that was the
- 4:46Speaker 3: majority opinion. However, it wasn't because of you as a person.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Here is where my frustration lied with how you walk
- 4:56Speaker 3: through this show. And I want to give you the
- 4:58Speaker 3: space now before we start talking about Maria specifically, to
- 5:02Speaker 3: really lean into you personally. What I experienced watching the
- 5:07Speaker 3: show was a lot of excitement because of what Ashley
- 5:09Speaker 3: told me about you. There was a lot of hope
- 5:12Speaker 3: that this experience would go really well for you. I
- 5:14Speaker 3: didn't know a lot about how the experience went until
- 5:18Speaker 3: the show started airing what we saw with Maria, and again,
- 5:22Speaker 3: this moment isn't about Maria is character development, some growth,
- 5:26Speaker 3: some like wiggling through some really difficult moments to get
- 5:29Speaker 3: to a place where at the end of the day
- 5:31Speaker 3: people were rooting for her. What we didn't see in you,
- 5:35Speaker 3: I felt like was many moments where that you could
- 5:39Speaker 3: have turned the corner, you could have let things go,
- 5:42Speaker 3: you could have moved past some of these arguments, and
- 5:45Speaker 3: it felt like it was always getting drawn back to you.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And so instead of moving on and being like, hey,
- 5:50Speaker 3: this isn't working out for me, like people are mad,
- 5:52Speaker 3: she's mad, I am just going to focus on my
- 5:54Speaker 3: relationship and try to make this thing the best I can.
- 5:58Speaker 3: What the show showed us was at each and every
- 6:00Speaker 3: episode that you were around, it continue to get brought
- 6:04Speaker 3: up by you. And so my frustration was why doesn't
- 6:08Speaker 3: she just move on? Like, why doesn't she just take
- 6:11Speaker 3: a step outside of the scenario. So I want to
- 6:13Speaker 3: give you a place to explain why either you didn't
- 6:18Speaker 3: move on or why it didn't look like you moved on.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I mean I definitely you know you're film
- 6:25Speaker 1: from the second you wave go up to the second
- 6:27Speaker 1: go to bed. So I've had like so many different
- 6:30Speaker 1: conversations with you know, Joey, with the girls in the house,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and even with Maria, and they weren't all so like
- 6:41Speaker 1: intense and almost like cut through what you saw. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: think there was a lot of like very like heartfelt
- 6:50Speaker 1: and vulnerable conversations that I've had with Maria, even just
- 6:56Speaker 1: like giving her the benefit of the doubt a lot
- 6:58Speaker 1: of the time, and it just didn't make the final cut.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And I think, like that's just not the narrative that
- 7:09Speaker 1: was set around who I was supposed to be, the
- 7:12Speaker 1: character that I was supposed to be, Like, I wish
- 7:14Speaker 1: that you could have seen that like more softer, quieter,
- 7:18Speaker 1: more like reflective moments that I had, which I definitely
- 7:22Speaker 1: had in the show, but you mostly saw like me
- 7:26Speaker 1: in the heat of the moment with the reactions to
- 7:30Speaker 1: things that had happened that I personally like tried to
- 7:34Speaker 1: get away from but it just it just felt like
- 7:38Speaker 1: it I could get away from it.
- 7:41Speaker 2: With Maria, Like You've always said that lots of girls,
- 7:45Speaker 2: if not the majority, had issues with her. Why did
- 7:48Speaker 2: they always show you as the spokesperson for everybody's issues?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Yeah, in my opinion, I wish that I knew that.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think like I think it all stems for like
- 8:00Speaker 1: the first thing that had happened, which was the stupidest
- 8:06Speaker 1: thing in the entire world, the age. And I mean
- 8:10Speaker 1: also too, I do want to preface, like I don't
- 8:13Speaker 1: think like going into like depth about every single thing
- 8:17Speaker 1: is going to do us any good. Also, like he
- 8:20Speaker 1: thought about it where we just ended Grant season.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Like it's been remember the details.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You don't remember the details, but yeah, so like I
- 8:29Speaker 1: just want to like come on here and just give
- 8:31Speaker 1: a little bit more like understanding, you know, just for
- 8:35Speaker 1: the future Villains of America as well. But I think
- 8:40Speaker 1: that basically where it all started was with the whole
- 8:46Speaker 1: age comment. And it's funny because like it was with
- 8:51Speaker 1: Medina had opened up about like her age and how
- 8:57Speaker 1: she was she felt some type away about being the
- 9:00Speaker 1: oldest one in the house.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Basically, you never see you never saw the conversation between
- 9:10Speaker 4: me and Medina. You never saw me like toddling or
- 9:13Speaker 4: whatever that because essentially never even happened. And I don't know,
- 9:19Speaker 4: so basically what happened was Medina was insecure about it.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I think it might already been planted that people were
- 9:25Speaker 1: talking about the age comment, but I just said she
- 9:30Speaker 1: asked me, and I was just like yeah, I mean
- 9:32Speaker 1: like Maria said something about her being old too, but
- 9:34Speaker 1: like I don't know, it was never a thing. And
- 9:39Speaker 1: then for some reason something got miscommunicated and it became
- 9:43Speaker 1: this huge thing and it was like being talked about
- 9:45Speaker 1: the house like who said this, Who's who's putting my
- 9:48Speaker 1: character in question? Kind of thing, and then I was
- 9:52Speaker 1: just like, wait, like I heard you say it, though
- 9:56Speaker 1: like it was more of like a instead of like
- 10:00Speaker 1: I did hear you say it? And then it kind
- 10:02Speaker 1: of just more of got of like a I think
- 10:04Speaker 1: I got caught up in being more of like like
- 10:08Speaker 1: why are you gaslighting? And that's very gas lighting is
- 10:12Speaker 1: a terrim I didn't want to.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, don't go. Don't go into that in.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The moment kind of like what I felt about it,
- 10:21Speaker 1: but it honestly was not a big deal. And then
- 10:24Speaker 1: that whole situation kind of got squashed and like we
- 10:27Speaker 1: moved on from it. But yeah, I think that looking
- 10:32Speaker 1: back on it now, like I Mariana, I just like
- 10:36Speaker 1: communicated so differently, just so differently. I think I'm more
- 10:39Speaker 1: of a I'm more sensitive than her. I think that
- 10:43Speaker 1: she works with more of like a if. You're a if,
- 10:48Speaker 1: like your feelings get hurt from when I say, that's
- 10:50Speaker 1: like your problem, and like I understand that. And I
- 10:55Speaker 1: think like her intentions were always good, whereas like before
- 10:58Speaker 1: I thought they were kind of like malicious. But I
- 11:02Speaker 1: just think she never she never meant any harm by anything.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I think we just communicated differently.
- 11:10Speaker 3: What you'd say now is you look back and you're like,
- 11:13Speaker 3: I was wrong to think that her intentions were not good.
- 11:18Speaker 3: You now think her intentions were good throughout the process.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Yes, I would say that I think that I don't
- 11:26Speaker 1: think her intentions were to ever hurt my feelings. I
- 11:30Speaker 1: think that she just communicate communicates differently.
- 11:44Speaker 3: There's a thing here that I always kind of in
- 11:46Speaker 3: a little bit of it is giving you the benefit
- 11:48Speaker 3: of doubt. And also it's just a trick that the
- 11:50Speaker 3: show can do to somebody when they get wrapped up
- 11:53Speaker 3: in a moment like you did or in a thing
- 11:56Speaker 3: that you did. What what happens is the show h
- 12:00Speaker 3: from the inside makes you almost feel like a hero,
- 12:04Speaker 3: like you're doing the right thing because you're standing up
- 12:07Speaker 3: against a common enemy. And they make Maria feel like
- 12:12Speaker 3: a common enemy. They say things to you in private
- 12:14Speaker 3: that she said, and they're like they you know, you
- 12:17Speaker 3: are doing a great job by standing up to her,
- 12:20Speaker 3: and as a result, when it airs, sometimes that gets
- 12:24Speaker 3: switched over and you realize that you're actually the one
- 12:26Speaker 3: that's speaking up so much, and it makes you look
- 12:29Speaker 3: like a villain instead of the hero, which you felt
- 12:32Speaker 3: during the process of the show, like you were standing
- 12:35Speaker 3: up for your friends and really nobody else wanted you to.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Was this what happened to you, because it has happened
- 12:40Speaker 3: to many before when you're in the environment, did you
- 12:44Speaker 3: feel like you were doing the right thing?
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you just hit the nail on the head.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Like I definitely felt like I was, you know, standing
- 12:56Speaker 1: up to the person that everyone had a problem with.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And I think that looking back at it now, I
- 13:08Speaker 1: should have prioritized instead of being like this hero, more
- 13:12Speaker 1: of like the real reason why I was there. But
- 13:16Speaker 1: at the end of the day, I you know, when
- 13:19Speaker 1: you when you start the show, you don't have communication
- 13:22Speaker 1: with anybody. You can't talk to your friends, can't talk
- 13:24Speaker 1: to your family. See, you just find somebody that you trust,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and I like fully trusted my producer like so much,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and like there was times where I was like super overwhelmed,
- 13:36Speaker 1: crying in her arms, and then she'd be like, oh
- 13:38Speaker 1: my god, sending like Maria was just mocking you in
- 13:40Speaker 1: the camera while you were crying, and I'm just like why, bitch,
- 13:45Speaker 1: Like why would she do that? And then it's just like,
- 13:48Speaker 1: wait did now looking back and I'm like, wait, did
- 13:51Speaker 1: she actually though? Or you know, it was just a
- 13:55Speaker 1: bunch of those little things that constantly added up into
- 14:00Speaker 1: making me like feel you know, hurt and upset and
- 14:06Speaker 1: angry in all those things, and like what you saw
- 14:10Speaker 1: was my reaction to that. So that's kind of where
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think it. Even though I really I did really
- 14:19Speaker 1: try hard to get away from the drama, it just
- 14:22Speaker 1: felt like it was never ending.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Sucks you in.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of times we talk about, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 2: the edit. You know, people kind of hate hearing that,
- 14:32Speaker 2: like it was the edit that made me look bad, right,
- 14:34Speaker 2: the audience just doesn't want to hear that. But there's
- 14:37Speaker 2: one thing that we don't talk about when it comes
- 14:40Speaker 2: to the edit, and that is like character development. And
- 14:45Speaker 2: with you, you didn't really have any. All you had
- 14:48Speaker 2: was that you jumped right into drama with somebody else,
- 14:52Speaker 2: but we didn't get to know you at all before that,
- 14:55Speaker 2: Like even your exit from the limo was like an
- 15:00Speaker 2: nothing you had nothing night one, Like I remember watching
- 15:03Speaker 2: the screener and then texting you and being like, you're
- 15:06Speaker 2: going to be disappointed at Night one, like you're not
- 15:09Speaker 2: in it, And I think that obviously that's a mechanism
- 15:14Speaker 2: that's part of the edit, right, It's a mechanism for
- 15:17Speaker 2: people not to latch onto for like any likable qualities,
- 15:20Speaker 2: and then you jump into the drama and they just
- 15:23Speaker 2: don't have any any reason to say, like, oh I
- 15:26Speaker 2: like this girl, so they're immediately on the other person's side,
- 15:29Speaker 2: who has, in Maria's case, had a ton of character development.
- 15:33Speaker 2: How frustrating was that for you?
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:36Speaker 2: No, And like do you have examples in which, like
- 15:39Speaker 2: the audience could have learned to like you?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. It was like when the drama started, it
- 15:46Speaker 1: was like a Team Maria team versus Team Sidney, but
- 15:50Speaker 1: there was no Team Sidney, Like why would there be?
- 15:53Speaker 1: They didn't even know who I was. I just came
- 15:56Speaker 1: like a came out of nowhere, Like Night one, you
- 15:59Speaker 1: barely saw me, like I had like a great interaction
- 16:04Speaker 1: with Joey, like a little bit of banter. We love
- 16:07Speaker 1: Matt and that have a banter, but and you know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: like a really good conversation. I was like super confident
- 16:15Speaker 1: in that, and then because the audience never really saw that,
- 16:20Speaker 1: it almost was like looking like I'm jealous of this
- 16:24Speaker 1: person and like her confidence and her connection and all
- 16:29Speaker 1: of that, when at the end of the day, like
- 16:31Speaker 1: it was never that I never even saw the version
- 16:36Speaker 1: of her that you know everyone else saw, which honestly,
- 16:40Speaker 1: like looking back and like wow, watching her, I'm like
- 16:43Speaker 1: if I knew this of her, like we'd be friends.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Like I like think that, you know, she is really
- 16:51Speaker 1: cool and like how everyone else sees her. But yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I just think that I've had so many conversations and
- 17:00Speaker 1: like that were heartfelt and they just like with Joey
- 17:05Speaker 1: with the girls in the House, like you see it now,
- 17:08Speaker 1: like if you follow me on social media, Like I'm
- 17:10Speaker 1: still really close with a lot of the girls in
- 17:13Speaker 1: the House, and like I wish that the show showed
- 17:16Speaker 1: that because there was so many moments where like, like
- 17:21Speaker 1: I supported the women and like there were so many
- 17:26Speaker 1: parts where I was just so much more like it
- 17:30Speaker 1: was just so much beyond the tension. And also like
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm I wouldn't say I'm funny, but I'm like very witty,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and I feel like there was a lot of times
- 17:39Speaker 1: I was super witty in my itms, and like no
- 17:42Speaker 1: one saw that, even just like bits with the girls,
- 17:46Speaker 1: like we were just did stupid things like I wish
- 17:48Speaker 1: that people got to see my relationship with the girls
- 17:50Speaker 1: and you know, see who I am as a person,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and then maybe things would have made little bit more sense.
- 18:02Speaker 3: You said something earlier, you said, I took the popular opinion.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I think it's.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Interesting I did. No, I agree with it. I did.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I took the popular opinion, and I don't feel bad
- 18:15Speaker 3: because I know what actually, Okay, That's where I'm going
- 18:19Speaker 3: with this is. You know, Ashley's told me the kind
- 18:21Speaker 3: of person you are. I never said, oh my gosh,
- 18:24Speaker 3: this city is a terrible human, like how does she
- 18:26Speaker 3: exist in this world? It was a legitimate critique of
- 18:31Speaker 3: what I witness on a television show. And I think
- 18:34Speaker 3: for this specific infamous section, there's a few things I
- 18:38Speaker 3: want to point out and then ask you a question
- 18:39Speaker 3: based on it. The behind the scenes of this is interesting.
- 18:43Speaker 3: What they did, was they I'm trying to think of
- 18:46Speaker 3: the right word. They manipulated you to feel like a
- 18:49Speaker 3: hero and to continue a storyline that was unhelpful for
- 18:53Speaker 3: you personally. And so I can see where when you're
- 18:56Speaker 3: in the house, you have a polarizing character and Maria,
- 19:01Speaker 3: she's loud, she's outspoken, and they say, we need somebody
- 19:05Speaker 3: to go after her, and Sydney, you just happen to
- 19:08Speaker 3: be the one they chose to be the focus point
- 19:11Speaker 3: to go after her, to make to be what you
- 19:13Speaker 3: felt like was a hero in the house, to stop
- 19:15Speaker 3: this person that you felt like was harming the environment,
- 19:19Speaker 3: and you don't know what the outcome is going to
- 19:22Speaker 3: be until the show airs. And so when I took
- 19:26Speaker 3: the popular opinion, what I was doing was I was
- 19:28Speaker 3: watching a show and saying, like I said, why doesn't
- 19:31Speaker 3: she stop this behavior? This is unnecessary? Why doesn't she
- 19:35Speaker 3: move on? She's never going to win this battle. She's
- 19:38Speaker 3: in a vacuum of chaos, and she's never going to
- 19:42Speaker 3: get out until she chooses to get out. So my
- 19:46Speaker 3: question is coming to you now, we can blame editing.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I hate it. I hate that we blame editing because
- 19:51Speaker 3: what happened was this wasn't edited to make you look
- 19:54Speaker 3: this way. It was manipulated in the house, I feel
- 19:57Speaker 3: like to make you be this way. And so I
- 20:00Speaker 3: think the personal responsibility for any future cast member is
- 20:05Speaker 3: to at some point go, they're really making me focus
- 20:09Speaker 3: on this girl a lot. They're asking me a lot
- 20:11Speaker 3: of questions about this one human. They're really firing me
- 20:15Speaker 3: up about this one human. No, I'm going to put
- 20:16Speaker 3: my stake in the ground and say I'm done with it.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I got one thing to focus on. That's the lead,
- 20:21Speaker 3: that's Joey here in this scenario. So looking back and
- 20:25Speaker 3: this whole thing now, and you know what it felt
- 20:29Speaker 3: like when we're watching it, It still felt a little
- 20:31Speaker 3: chaotic to me. When was a moment that you would
- 20:36Speaker 3: have put your foot down, Like, when was a moment
- 20:39Speaker 3: that you should have said, I'm done with this, this
- 20:42Speaker 3: isn't gonna be, this isn't helpful for me or somebody else,
- 20:45Speaker 3: or did that ever come to your mind.
- 20:48Speaker 1: There was so many moments where I said I'm done.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm not talking about this. Like the amount of times
- 20:57Speaker 1: you've seen me and Maria's interactions that barely scratched the
- 21:01Speaker 1: surface We've had way more conversations than that one where
- 21:07Speaker 1: like I stormed off. I'm like, this is just we're
- 21:10Speaker 1: not getting anywhere, like we're let's just agree to disagree.
- 21:13Speaker 1: The amount of time said let's just agree to disagree.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I said that so many times, and it just it
- 21:21Speaker 1: just wasn't enough. I think that this was what, this
- 21:26Speaker 1: is really what the only drama that was going on
- 21:29Speaker 1: in some way they it that just kept continuing it
- 21:33Speaker 1: and like I was definitely naive, Like I wish I
- 21:38Speaker 1: wasn't as naive as I was, and I you know,
- 21:40Speaker 1: I believe them in saying like you know, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 1: she's she's talking about you again. I'm like, so about
- 21:46Speaker 1: me again, like you know, and I'm I wish it
- 21:49Speaker 1: for someone like okay, letter, all right, sure.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but I will also give you credit here because
- 21:56Speaker 2: I don't have the personality that can do that, and
- 21:58Speaker 2: I don't think that you could either, And that's okay, yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 1: No, I definitely didn't. And like I mean, I grew
- 22:05Speaker 1: up in New England, like we were told like you
- 22:08Speaker 1: say something, you see something, you say something. If somebody
- 22:11Speaker 1: gets in your face, you get on your face back.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That was kind of like how I grew up and like,
- 22:17Speaker 1: so I don't know, that's just just who I am.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And like when I left the show, I told Ashley,
- 22:25Speaker 1: I was like, I'm so proud the person that I was,
- 22:29Speaker 1: Like my family would be proud of, like me sticking
- 22:32Speaker 1: up to like the mean girl. Like that was actually
- 22:35Speaker 1: like how I left the show feeling like I was
- 22:38Speaker 1: actually super proud of that. But then you know, now
- 22:41Speaker 1: looking back at it, like we're all humans, Like we're
- 22:44Speaker 1: all humans. I think, like I do feel bad thinking
- 22:50Speaker 1: about the times where like Maria probably did feel very
- 22:53Speaker 1: ginged up on and like that was never my intentions,
- 22:56Speaker 1: Like my intentions were never to be like your horror person,
- 23:00Speaker 1: you're a mean girl, you're this, you're that. My my
- 23:01Speaker 1: intentions are more to like to just be like, hey,
- 23:04Speaker 1: like you do this is how you come off to people.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I think, like you're not intending to, but like you're
- 23:15Speaker 1: hurting people's feelings. And that was like what it was originally,
- 23:19Speaker 1: but then it obviously escalated into just I was like
- 23:24Speaker 1: you you're a bitch, you know, And I wish I'd
- 23:27Speaker 1: never ever got to that point because that goes against
- 23:30Speaker 1: like everything I believe in. And then but yeah, I
- 23:35Speaker 1: love it to learn.
- 23:46Speaker 2: We are going to wrap up part one in a
- 23:48Speaker 2: little bit, but I wanted to end on some light
- 23:51Speaker 2: notes with you, said, so I signed you up for
- 23:54Speaker 2: the show the second Like I said earlier in the
- 23:59Speaker 2: episode that Joey was announced and you showed a little interest,
- 24:02Speaker 2: I was like, yo, I think that I can get
- 24:04Speaker 2: you on the show, no problem. I end up texting
- 24:06Speaker 2: one of our close producer friends that was still there. Unfortunately,
- 24:09Speaker 2: if somebody wants me to sign them up from the
- 24:11Speaker 2: show now, it's gonna be a lot harder. But you
- 24:13Speaker 2: made the perfect timeline. I texted them pictures and immediately
- 24:19Speaker 2: they were interested in you. And I thought that you'd
- 24:21Speaker 2: be so good on the show because obviously you're beautiful.
- 24:24Speaker 2: But all my girlfriends who have met you at your
- 24:27Speaker 2: shop Folk, which you guys, is a very cool vintage
- 24:30Speaker 2: shop in Newport, Rhode Island. It's a must go to
- 24:34Speaker 2: if you're ever visiting here. All my friends that I
- 24:38Speaker 2: would take to go there, they would be like, oh
- 24:40Speaker 2: my god, this it is so cool, Like she's such
- 24:42Speaker 2: a cool girl. She intimidates me, like they all thought
- 24:45Speaker 2: that she was so awesome, had the best style, a
- 24:48Speaker 2: cool like nonchalant personality. You were just like so easy, breezy,
- 24:52Speaker 2: effortless cool to us. And then and then the same
- 24:57Speaker 2: with Audrey's. So we I met sid because she was
- 25:02Speaker 2: the social media organizer. You ran our social media at Audrey's,
- 25:09Speaker 2: and then she ended up taking not over my social media,
- 25:13Speaker 2: but doing like whenever i'd have a big ad, I'd
- 25:15Speaker 2: have sid record it on her really awesome camera, and
- 25:18Speaker 2: she's so good at videography and she's so good at editing,
- 25:21Speaker 2: so any content that we needed that was like of
- 25:24Speaker 2: a high quality. We really made sure that Sidney was
- 25:26Speaker 2: there for us. And I was like this girl, Like
- 25:28Speaker 2: she has an amazing career, she's got a great personality,
- 25:32Speaker 2: and she's beautiful and she's cool girl. She's gonna be
- 25:35Speaker 2: great on the show. I always predict that you would
- 25:37Speaker 2: get to like top four. Then you came home and
- 25:43Speaker 2: you told the story and you were convinced you were
- 25:46Speaker 2: the hero. You're like ash, it was just like you.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I had the two on one and I called out
- 25:50Speaker 2: the villain and I was like, oh no way, I'm
- 25:52Speaker 2: like totally thinking that you're gonna have a very similar
- 25:54Speaker 2: character arcis.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I did.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And then Jared was listening to tell the story, and
- 25:58Speaker 2: he you didn't leave. You left, and he was a
- 26:01Speaker 2: little less confident than I was.
- 26:06Speaker 1: No, he called it early like he was like, ooh,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I don't know. He's like, is the fact that I
- 26:12Speaker 1: also went home so like much earlier, you know I've
- 26:19Speaker 1: been telling I was like, everyone's gonna be sad I
- 26:22Speaker 1: went home.
- 26:28Speaker 2: That's so funny. I felt very similarly when I came
- 26:32Speaker 2: back from Crystals this season. But there is always when
- 26:35Speaker 2: you are the person that is in the drama, whether
- 26:38Speaker 2: you are the good guy or the bad guy, whatever
- 26:39Speaker 2: you want to make it, it's like when you're telling
- 26:44Speaker 2: the story I was involved in the drama, I was like,
- 26:47Speaker 2: you know, I was the one that took them down.
- 26:48Speaker 2: You're like, oh, but there's a fifty to fifty chance
- 26:51Speaker 2: you don't really know which of you was the villain, right,
- 26:54Speaker 2: And that's what Jared was concerned about. He was like,
- 26:57Speaker 2: if she was one of the two, there's like a
- 26:59Speaker 2: fifty percent chance, said she was the one that's going
- 27:01Speaker 2: to go down in flames.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I mean I was just going off
- 27:05Speaker 1: of two of Like, I mean, the energy of the house.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I'm like, everyone feels the same way as me. And
- 27:09Speaker 1: then like also like I mean my producer said, there
- 27:12Speaker 1: was like no way that she was gonna be getting
- 27:14Speaker 1: good at it or anything, but like, yeah, no, it's honestly,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm so glad that we can look back at it
- 27:18Speaker 1: now and just like laugh.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 1: But obviously actually, like remember when we were watching it
- 27:25Speaker 1: back is obviously you you saw the episode before I
- 27:30Speaker 1: saw it, because I saw like everybody else. Yeah, you
- 27:35Speaker 1: said to me the worst thing like, yeah, you look
- 27:37Speaker 1: bad and like a lot of it, but like the
- 27:39Speaker 1: worst thing is the cheer.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Oh yes, that episode, because I think that was maybe
- 27:44Speaker 2: the first episode where you're starting to have the creepy
- 27:47Speaker 2: music behind you, where like you're trying to steer yeah right, no,
- 27:51Speaker 2: just I mean, like in general, like they were trying
- 27:53Speaker 2: to put the villain music behind you, and I was like, oh, okay,
- 27:56Speaker 2: I see what they're kind of doing here. And then
- 27:59Speaker 2: there was that she and I was like, yeah, you
- 28:00Speaker 2: don't look great because you look cringey, you don't look evil,
- 28:06Speaker 2: but they were already trying to at that point make
- 28:09Speaker 2: you be the lesser likable one in comparison to Maria. Yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 2: because do you want to give the little context to
- 28:15Speaker 2: the cheer.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean, like I knew I didn't have
- 28:20Speaker 1: a talent, Like I was, Like I even said I
- 28:22Speaker 1: was it.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Was a talent show, guys, if you don't remember, it
- 28:24Speaker 2: was a talent show.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, And so basically I was like I went because
- 28:31Speaker 1: there was a pageant. So it was a pageant and
- 28:33Speaker 1: then there was a talent portion in the Yeah. Well
- 28:36Speaker 1: I this is what I said in my itms, but
- 28:38Speaker 1: it got a little bit cut up. But I said, well,
- 28:41Speaker 1: I was on the Miss USA pageant because there was
- 28:45Speaker 1: no talent, Like you don't have you don't have to have.
- 28:48Speaker 2: A Miss Usa.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Missusa, you don't have to have a talent. So
- 28:51Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, my mom put me in that knowing
- 28:54Speaker 1: I didn't have a talent.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Which is truly funny when you say it like that.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And then like also like I was, I was like,
- 29:04Speaker 1: you know, I'm just gonna make a fool of myself.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I don't care, like it's a joke if you I mean,
- 29:09Speaker 1: so many people like CHRISA for example, she she picked
- 29:13Speaker 1: up the trombone and you were like, oh my god,
- 29:15Speaker 1: this girl she knows how to play drummone Nope, she
- 29:17Speaker 1: had no idea, but she just she I don't even
- 29:21Speaker 1: know if they even showed that talent, but it was
- 29:24Speaker 1: so funny. So it was just like a theme where
- 29:26Speaker 1: we were just making fun of ourselves and making it
- 29:28Speaker 1: light and fun and then like watching it back and
- 29:31Speaker 1: making it look like I was like dead serious. Was
- 29:34Speaker 1: honestly hilarious, but it was like people's reaction. I was like, oh,
- 29:39Speaker 1: but honestly, yeah, no, it was hella cringey. But honestly,
- 29:44Speaker 1: I think my my my cheer l O V E
- 29:47Speaker 1: Joe is the one for me, And I think that's
- 29:49Speaker 1: like pretty clever.
- 29:50Speaker 2: It's cute. I like that, but like the audience cheered
- 29:53Speaker 2: for you, and it wasn't an awkward vibe in the audience, right.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He added crickets, Yeah, that's cool.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And is that the most traumatic moment that happened to you?
- 30:05Speaker 2: And the airing back and it was, guys are very sad.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Like Sydney would come over and just be like texting
- 30:10Speaker 2: her friends from the group, you know, from the show
- 30:14Speaker 2: on the group chat, trying to figure out like how
- 30:17Speaker 2: people were interpreting all of this, and she'd be crying.
- 30:20Speaker 2: It was in like the in Instagram and TikTok brutal
- 30:24Speaker 2: and yeah, but you have recovered in a beautiful way
- 30:27Speaker 2: and people line up at your store, you know during
- 30:31Speaker 2: your bin sales. You have an amazing business. Now, would
- 30:34Speaker 2: you say that the show helped your business? I think
- 30:36Speaker 2: it was always doing well, but yeah, no, I mean.
- 30:40Speaker 1: It definitely did. People come in and they're like, oh
- 30:42Speaker 1: my god, I watched you on the Bachelor, and like,
- 30:45Speaker 1: I thankfully every person that has come up to me
- 30:48Speaker 1: has been so sweet and so kind, and it is like, honestly,
- 30:55Speaker 1: it's made every like obviously people on social media can
- 30:59Speaker 1: be ruthless, like I have never experienced somebody in person,
- 31:02Speaker 1: like everyone's been so kind and like, yeah, I mean
- 31:05Speaker 1: at the end of the day, all press is good press,
- 31:09Speaker 1: I guess. And I like when people do come into
- 31:12Speaker 1: the store and like we'll have like watch my watch
- 31:16Speaker 1: me on the show, have an idea or me come
- 31:17Speaker 1: up to me and then like actually have a conversation
- 31:19Speaker 1: with me and be like wow, okay, like you are
- 31:22Speaker 1: not what I thought at all. So I actually really
- 31:27Speaker 1: enjoy changing people's minds. God.
- 31:30Speaker 2: So yeah, all right, well brand notes, all right, we
- 31:33Speaker 2: will finish with the dramatic stuff later on. This week
- 31:37Speaker 2: during our part two of the interview with Sidney Gordon,
- 31:40Speaker 2: so stay tuned for that. We love you guys.
