- 0:16Speaker 1: wars potential trade war, and number one, ask I handle anything,
- 0:20Speaker 1: which we do on Friday eight thirty. But you have
- 0:24Speaker 1: to be part of it. And it's all about you
- 0:26Speaker 1: asking me, recording personal questions so I get embarrassed. That's
- 0:30Speaker 1: what that's about. And during the show, you go to

- 0:37Speaker 1: the bill Handle show being broadcast, and click on the
- 0:39Speaker 1: microphone the app right hand corner and you'll be able
- 0:42Speaker 1: to record a question. I don't want your opinion on
- 0:46Speaker 1: what's going on, but certainly your question embarrassing questions. Also
- 0:51Speaker 1: next couple of days, we are still raising money for
- 0:54Speaker 1: Kono Cono's car blew up, as you know, and he
- 0:59Speaker 1: is a borrow car. He's CouchSurfing on a car. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: think he's using his grandmother's car and we're trying to
- 1:05Speaker 1: get him another car. He drives seventy two miles each
- 1:08Speaker 1: way and he unfortunately not a lot of money. Lives
- 1:14Speaker 1: under a tent. He lives under a bridge in a
- 1:17Speaker 1: tent in the Inland Empire. And you know how people
- 1:21Speaker 1: sell oranges and they sell flowers on the street corner,
- 1:24Speaker 1: he sells meth. Because it's the Inline Empire. Anyway, we're
- 1:29Speaker 1: asking you legitimately to help us to raise some money
- 1:35Speaker 1: for a KNO so he can get the car that
- 1:40Speaker 1: he needs. In any case, you go to our web
- 1:43Speaker 1: page because a lot of weird stuff happens on Go Fundme.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So go to KFI A M six forty dot com
- 1:50Speaker 1: slash cono, k O n O. That's KFI a M
- 1:55Speaker 1: six forty dot com slash cono, and we're gonna be
- 2:00Speaker 1: very close to what we want what we want to raise. Okay,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Now moving to what's happening between Europe and the United States.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Europe is bracing for a all out trade war with
- 2:13Speaker 1: the President, and I want to go through some of
- 2:15Speaker 1: the options that Europe is looking at and has. And
- 2:20Speaker 1: this all has to do with Trump's plan to take
- 2:22Speaker 1: control of Greenland, either buying Greenland or even threatening I
- 2:27Speaker 1: don't know how legitimate that is, threatening the possibility of
- 2:30Speaker 1: a military action. So the European Union can get involved
- 2:37Speaker 1: with trade retaliation, reduce defense ties and use the bazuka.
- 2:45Speaker 1: What is the bazooka, I'll tell you in a minute.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So Trump has threatened actually it will institute economic measures
- 2:55Speaker 1: against Europe starting February one. And you now have ten
- 3:00Speaker 1: percent tariffs. He's going to add ten percent, and if
- 3:04Speaker 1: the European Union doesn't cave on Greenland, it'll be another
- 3:10Speaker 1: twenty five percent. And the European Union, okay, they're going
- 3:14Speaker 1: to do the same thing retaliatory tariffs against the US.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And what is the bazooka. Well, it allows the countries
- 3:25Speaker 1: to fight back when under economic duress from another country.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And that's exactly what they're arguing. The European Union is
- 3:32Speaker 1: one trading block and its rules allow the entire block
- 3:39Speaker 1: to fight back when duress is being exercised by another country.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Read the United States. Now the ambassador didn't reach a decision,
- 3:51Speaker 1: Diplomats say there's still time for talks with the US.
- 3:54Speaker 1: You know, is Trump serious about this? I don't know.
- 3:57Speaker 1: One of the things that President Trump does, he says
- 4:00Speaker 1: pretty outrageous stuff and whether he means it or not,
- 4:05Speaker 1: or he says it just to keep everybody on tenter hooks,
- 4:10Speaker 1: wondering is it going to happen? Is it not going
- 4:13Speaker 1: to happen. We don't know, and that gives him That's
- 4:17Speaker 1: what he does, that's how he operates and always has.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So they're going to discuss this matter European leaders at
- 4:27Speaker 1: the start of the World Economic Forum. It happens every
- 4:30Speaker 1: year in Davos, Switzerland, and that's where billionaires heads a
- 4:35Speaker 1: state get together and they just schmooze and a lot
- 4:38Speaker 1: comes out of that. Trump is going to be there too,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and so originally, when Trump announced his quote Liberation Day
- 4:45Speaker 1: terrorists last year, the European leaders hesitated to strike back,
- 4:51Speaker 1: wanted to keep him involved in the military alliance, especially
- 4:55Speaker 1: in Ukraine's defense. But now they're saying and taking him soonuriously,
- 5:00Speaker 1: which I think they should after what happened in Venezuela.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And so what are they going to do? Well looking
- 5:09Speaker 1: at what Europe did to that lopsided trade deal with
- 5:13Speaker 1: the US that included a fifteen percent duty for most
- 5:16Speaker 1: EU goods imported the US. And again this is trump
- 5:20Speaker 1: method to his madness. He wanted tariffs, He went ahead
- 5:23Speaker 1: and established tariffs, and Europe did nothing, just sat back
- 5:29Speaker 1: and let it happen. Well, has a line been has
- 5:33Speaker 1: a ligne been crossed? Looks that way? Looks that way?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Denmark which effectively owns Greenland, it's a semi autonomous territory
- 5:45Speaker 1: of Denmark, and Denmark is saying you're not buying it
- 5:48Speaker 1: from this And if you invade and try to grab
- 5:52Speaker 1: it by force, well, Europe is already sending forces over there.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So what Europe can do the EU is well, they
- 6:01Speaker 1: have already drown up a list of one hundred billion
- 6:05Speaker 1: dollars of tariffs, retaliatory tariffs, including chewing gum. Didn't know
- 6:11Speaker 1: chewing gum was that big of an issue, motorcycles, peanut butter.
- 6:16Speaker 1: As the day progresses, yeah, from the height. All right,
- 6:20Speaker 1: Now here's the problem. Retaliation, And this is President Trump.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You hit me once, I hit you twice. Economic action
- 6:29Speaker 1: over Greenland might put everything over the edge. And we're
- 6:33Speaker 1: going to find out. Is it going to happen? Yeah?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Also a couple of things Europe may bounce. The basis
- 6:40Speaker 1: we have for example, Ramshein in Germany since World War
- 6:44Speaker 1: Two is the biggest base, twelve thousand people, and it
- 6:47Speaker 1: has incredible when anybody is wounded for example, in the
- 6:50Speaker 1: Middle East, Americans that are dreadfully wounded, they go to
- 6:54Speaker 1: Ramstein and it's considered literally some of the best medicine
- 7:00Speaker 1: on the planet. And you can get rid of those bases.
- 7:05Speaker 1: They can add more bases to Greenland. The whole thing is,
- 7:10Speaker 1: is it going to explode? Who the hell knows. But
- 7:14Speaker 1: it's another move by the president, an extraordinary move by
- 7:17Speaker 1: the president, really controversial move by the president. And if
- 7:20Speaker 1: it goes through, it changes our relationship with the European
- 7:24Speaker 1: Block completely. Keeping in mind that most of Europe is
- 7:26Speaker 1: a member of NATO. We are a member of NATO.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And remember Article five. Never let that leave the conversation
- 7:35Speaker 1: when you're talking about President Trump and any member of NATO,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and that is an attack on one, is an attack
- 7:44Speaker 1: on all. And it would be the United States invading
- 7:48Speaker 1: and going to war with a NATO ally. When NATO
- 7:52Speaker 1: was created, no one ever thought in a million years
- 7:56Speaker 1: that that could happen. All right, now I got a well,
- 8:00Speaker 1: here we go again, a Trump story, or a couple
- 8:04Speaker 1: of them, one kind of crazy, typical Trump that you
- 8:07Speaker 1: shake your head at, the other one not so crazy
- 8:10Speaker 1: that a good part of it makes sense. First of all,
- 8:14Speaker 1: as you know, the president is really upset about the snub,
- 8:18Speaker 1: but as he perceives it that he did not get
- 8:22Speaker 1: the Nobel Peace Prize. And he wrote to the Norwegian
- 8:26Speaker 1: president or prime minister actually quote, considering your country decided
- 8:32Speaker 1: not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having
- 8:34Speaker 1: stopped eight wars, plus I no longer feel an obligation
- 8:38Speaker 1: to think purely of peace, although it will always be predominant.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But keen, now you can think about what is good,
- 8:48Speaker 1: or we can think about what is good and proper
- 8:50Speaker 1: for the United States. The implication, of course, is giving
- 8:52Speaker 1: him the peace price. Then he bashed Denmark. It can't
- 8:56Speaker 1: protect Greenland from Russia or China claimed it. A question
- 9:00Speaker 1: is claim over Greenland, saying there are no written documents,
- 9:04Speaker 1: which is only that a boat landed there hundreds of
- 9:07Speaker 1: years before we had boats landing there also. And then
- 9:11Speaker 1: Trump ends the letter saying the world is not secure
- 9:17Speaker 1: unless we have complete and total control of Greenland. And
- 9:22Speaker 1: by the way, that letter has been forwarded by the
- 9:25Speaker 1: National Security Council to multiple European ambassadors in Washington. Kind
- 9:32Speaker 1: of fun. And now he talks about the threat Russia
- 9:38Speaker 1: and China, which according to a lot of experts, is
- 9:41Speaker 1: really not a threat. China's been around four years, no
- 9:45Speaker 1: ships have been around for ten years, and Russia is
- 9:49Speaker 1: so concentrating on the Ukraine issue that it's been doing
- 9:54Speaker 1: nothing for years. So here is the issue that I
- 9:59Speaker 1: want to share with you. The President, for some reason,
- 10:03Speaker 1: thinks that it is the country of Norway that gives
- 10:08Speaker 1: the Peace Prize. It does not. You think he would
- 10:13Speaker 1: know that it doesn't at all. There's a Nobel committee
- 10:19Speaker 1: that issues the price, and we don't even know who's
- 10:22Speaker 1: on that committee. By the way, that's super secret, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: we don't know who the votes are. We don't know
- 10:27Speaker 1: who finalists really are. And anybody can be nominated for
- 10:33Speaker 1: any prize. I was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
- 10:37Speaker 1: How is that possible? Well, here are the rules, because
- 10:41Speaker 1: any elected official from any country can nominate someone on
- 10:46Speaker 1: the Peace Prize or for the Peace Prize, and then
- 10:48Speaker 1: the nomination goes to the Nobel Committee. So what I
- 10:52Speaker 1: did is iet myself a congressperson to nominate me for
- 10:59Speaker 1: the Nobel Peace Price. Now the reality is, well, this
- 11:03Speaker 1: congress person whose name I can't share with you because
- 11:06Speaker 1: he or she has asked me not to in the
- 11:10Speaker 1: letter to the Nobel Peace Committee which he shared with me,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and I shared the letter that was shared had his
- 11:20Speaker 1: name redacted because he was so embarrassed by nominating me
- 11:24Speaker 1: for the Peace Prize. The point I am making is
- 11:27Speaker 1: that anybody can nominate. Now. The President of Hungary, for example,
- 11:31Speaker 1: nominated Donald Trump and he was pretty happy about that. Also,
- 11:38Speaker 1: the elected Mushadow of Venezuela, and she's been in hiding
- 11:46Speaker 1: and she won the Nobel Peace Prize because her surrogate
- 11:50Speaker 1: won the election in Venezuela overwhelmingly by seventy percent, and
- 11:54Speaker 1: Maduro pulled the results of the election. She went to
- 11:58Speaker 1: Washington and she had said she was going to do
- 12:00Speaker 1: this and handed the president her Nobel prize, saying, here
- 12:06Speaker 1: you go, you really deserve this. And he was beaming
- 12:11Speaker 1: upon the receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize. There he
- 12:17Speaker 1: was the recipient of the Peace Prize. And the Nobel
- 12:20Speaker 1: Committee said, no, no, we gave it to her. We
- 12:25Speaker 1: didn't give it to the president. Is he ever going
- 12:28Speaker 1: to get the Nobel Prize? Not a chance in hell,
- 12:33Speaker 1: Because I'll tell you they are not very happy. Well,
- 12:38Speaker 1: I'm assuming maybe they are happy. Maybe they think about it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Maybe he is going to get it next year, but
- 12:44Speaker 1: he is saying to Norway that is, since I didn't
- 12:49Speaker 1: get the priest prize, I may go after Greenland militarily
- 12:54Speaker 1: because of the peace prize see peace and I gat ok.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Here's the logic here. Peace is the absence of war, right,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and if you give me the peace prize, I will
- 13:08Speaker 1: not attack. And that's kind of a neat way of
- 13:13Speaker 1: negotiating peace. I like it. I like it. It's kind
- 13:19Speaker 1: of crazy, isn't it. Matter of fact? Tomorrow, what I
- 13:22Speaker 1: want to do is eight crazy things or ten crazy
- 13:26Speaker 1: things that we have seen from this administration. And by
- 13:29Speaker 1: the way, some of the stuff that actually makes sense
- 13:31Speaker 1: and pretty good at but this one is, yeah, this
- 13:37Speaker 1: is the one that is really good. So now the
- 13:40Speaker 1: other thing that may be crazy but not so crazy,
- 13:44Speaker 1: is that the President has created a Board of Peace
- 13:48Speaker 1: for Gaza and that's pretty impressive. And Lindsay just walked
- 13:54Speaker 1: in with a hamburger hat. That is hilarious. It's why.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It's because last night we're making burgers and she makes
- 14:06Speaker 1: the actual burgers, and I always harass her on the
- 14:09Speaker 1: making of the burgers. They weren't big enough because I
- 14:12Speaker 1: wanted to make a hamburger, a hamburger sandwich. It was
- 14:17Speaker 1: very complicated. I should tell a picture for someone to
- 14:21Speaker 1: don't have somebody who's ninety eight pounds make your burger.
- 14:25Speaker 1: That's a good point because they're very small burger. That's correct,
- 14:29Speaker 1: That is correct. I made a much bigger burger. Okay, okay.
- 14:33Speaker 1: An issue when I do a lot of this, and
- 14:36Speaker 1: I know I talk a lot about Donald Trump, but
- 14:39Speaker 1: it's almost impossible not to across the board in terms
- 14:44Speaker 1: of impact, uniqueness as a president, entertainment value as a president.
- 14:52Speaker 1: And here is something that actually may make sense, but
- 14:56Speaker 1: it's being it's basically being produced as a Trump event,
- 15:03Speaker 1: a Trump esque And this is what's being called Trump's
- 15:08Speaker 1: Board of Peace for Gaza. Actually it's being called the
- 15:11Speaker 1: Board of Peace. And what is the Board of Peace?
- 15:16Speaker 1: The Board of Peace is a group of countries that
- 15:20Speaker 1: have been put together, have been invited to join this
- 15:25Speaker 1: organization that the President created to help Gaza and it
- 15:30Speaker 1: will oversee the next steps in Gaza. This is the
- 15:33Speaker 1: second phase of the war in Gaza. First phase now
- 15:40Speaker 1: in a semblance of a treaty, if you will, a
- 15:46Speaker 1: peace sort of kind of peace plan that came into effect, okay,
- 15:51Speaker 1: And what it does is include a new Palestinian Committee
- 15:55Speaker 1: and Gaza, the deployment of an international security for disarmament
- 16:01Speaker 1: of Gaza, which is way up in the air, of course,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and reconstruction of the war Batter territory, which I think
- 16:08Speaker 1: everybody is in favor of, and you know, Israel gives
- 16:11Speaker 1: it lip service, but is it really Is it really
- 16:14Speaker 1: in favor of that? I don't know. And what the
- 16:18Speaker 1: President did inviting world leaders on behalf of their countries
- 16:23Speaker 1: that the Board of Peace would embark on a bold
- 16:26Speaker 1: new approach to resolving global global conflict. Effect of what
- 16:31Speaker 1: he's doing is rivaling the UN Security Council. And the
- 16:36Speaker 1: UN Security Council is an organization that has really no
- 16:41Speaker 1: oomph to it. It's merely political statement. A lot of
- 16:45Speaker 1: it is anti US, Third world countries that hate us.
- 16:49Speaker 1: We have They just sit there in New York and
- 16:53Speaker 1: babble and get traffic tickets the members of the UN
- 16:56Speaker 1: and that they they don't have to pay because they
- 16:59Speaker 1: have unity. And what Trump is doing, and I agree
- 17:03Speaker 1: with him, is saying, okay, let's get an organization that
- 17:06Speaker 1: rivals the UN Security Council, that actually does something. Now,
- 17:11Speaker 1: the fifteen seat Council has been blocked by US, Vetos
- 17:18Speaker 1: has been blocked by China, and certain aspects have been
- 17:22Speaker 1: blocked by Russia. And why is that? Because you have
- 17:25Speaker 1: five members, five founding members of the UN, the Security Council.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Remember this was after the war, after World War two,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and it was part of the peace treaty. It was
- 17:37Speaker 1: part of the organization that was put together that after
- 17:41Speaker 1: the war got together and effectively became anti communists if
- 17:47Speaker 1: you were. And NATO was founded along the same grounds,
- 17:50Speaker 1: except this was for peace, this was not for defense.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Five members have veto power, can veto anything, and that's
- 17:59Speaker 1: what happens because you have different views. Russia has its interests,
- 18:03Speaker 1: the United States has its interests, you have China having
- 18:08Speaker 1: its interests. And the other one is France and England
- 18:13Speaker 1: are part of the Security Council. So the other reason
- 18:18Speaker 1: that the UN has its cloud has been diminished is
- 18:23Speaker 1: cut funding cuts from the Trump administration and other donors,
- 18:26Speaker 1: which I agree with completely. President Trump is absolutely right
- 18:30Speaker 1: on this one. The UN is a waste of time.
- 18:34Speaker 1: It's an organization that just babbles and does nothing and
- 18:39Speaker 1: doesn't enforce doesn't have well, it does have a police force,
- 18:43Speaker 1: but it's only peacekeeping. I mean, they certainly don't go
- 18:46Speaker 1: to war. So this council, Oh, in a couple of things,
- 18:50Speaker 1: is founding members with a billion dollar contribution can be
- 18:55Speaker 1: permanent members instead of a three year appointment. The three
- 18:59Speaker 1: year appointment does not require a contribution. Australia has been invited,
- 19:06Speaker 1: India says it has been invited, and Jordan, Greece, Cyprus,
- 19:11Speaker 1: Pakistan said they've been invited. Canada, Turkey, Egia, Paraguay, Argentina,
- 19:16Speaker 1: Albania have already said they were invited. And we'll get
- 19:21Speaker 1: an official list of the members in the next few days,
- 19:24Speaker 1: likely during the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And I want to point something out in a very
- 19:36Speaker 1: unusual move that the President makes, is that he did
- 19:41Speaker 1: not name himself the chair of the board. He is
- 19:48Speaker 1: not the chair of the Board of Peace for Gaza.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Oh I'm sorry, I misread that he is the chair
- 19:55Speaker 1: of the Board of Peace. He created it and he's
- 19:59Speaker 1: going to run damn thing much like the Kennedy excuse me,
- 20:02Speaker 1: the Donald Trump slash Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts,
- 20:07Speaker 1: much like the one hundred thousand dollar visa, the B
- 20:12Speaker 1: one visa, which is the Trump visa, also the million
- 20:16Speaker 1: dollar visa, that gold card, as you know, it's like
- 20:20Speaker 1: an American Express gold card, except that has a picture
- 20:22Speaker 1: of the president on it. And we go on and on.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So does it make sense? Yeah, if it works, it
- 20:30Speaker 1: makes sense because here we're talking about putting together a
- 20:34Speaker 1: group of countries who will commit money to rebuild Gaza,
- 20:42Speaker 1: who will effectuate and move forward the peace plan, who
- 20:47Speaker 1: will disarm Haramas if that's going to be one of
- 20:50Speaker 1: the big ones. And also where is Israel going to
- 20:55Speaker 1: accept the borders? And I think right now controls about
- 21:01Speaker 1: half of Gaza, half is controlled by Israel. And the
- 21:05Speaker 1: war is, as I said, a war of attrition. There
- 21:09Speaker 1: are attacks being made, both terrorist attacks against Israeli soldiers
- 21:13Speaker 1: and citizens by members of Hamas. And every time that happens,
- 21:17Speaker 1: Israel goes ahead and attacks targets. And on top of that,
- 21:21Speaker 1: the border crossings are clothes. Humanitarian aid is not getting
- 21:25Speaker 1: in for the most part. Israel says that it is.
- 21:28Speaker 1: It is not. Israel is starving people, although fewer now
- 21:34Speaker 1: and there is no oil. This is the middle of
- 21:36Speaker 1: winter and when rains come. Most of the Palestinians in
- 21:42Speaker 1: Gaza are living in tents. Huge number living intents, eighty
- 21:47Speaker 1: or eighty five percent have been displaced. There is no infrastructure, none,
- 21:53Speaker 1: there's one, I think there's one hospital that's still standing.
- 22:00Speaker 1: There are no universities, there are no school rooms. It's
- 22:06Speaker 1: the only way they can live is on solar power,
- 22:09Speaker 1: and then they can they can charge batteries on that.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It's a miserable way to live, and Israel's not letting
- 22:17Speaker 1: it get any better. At the same time, Hamas has
- 22:21Speaker 1: yet to give up. It's a ridiculous belief that Israel
- 22:25Speaker 1: should not exist. In the Charter of Hamas says we
- 22:29Speaker 1: will destroy the Jews in Israel and we will take
- 22:32Speaker 1: all of it. Well, that worked out, didn't it. Look
- 22:34Speaker 1: what's happening now? Yeah, you know that attack on Israel,
- 22:38Speaker 1: that October seventh attack in which twelve hundred Israelis were killed.
- 22:42Speaker 1: How did that one work out for you? And we're
- 22:45Speaker 1: not hearing much from Palestinians that live in Gazam. Maybe
- 22:49Speaker 1: it wasn't such a good idea. We're not hearing that
- 22:54Speaker 1: because Hamas is a dictatorial government, and it is a
- 22:58Speaker 1: government that if you speak any if you speak against it,
- 23:01Speaker 1: if they speak against it, they are in a lot
- 23:04Speaker 1: of trouble. Okay, Now, a quick story about billionaires. We have.
- 23:15Speaker 1: We have more billionaires in California than any place basically
- 23:18Speaker 1: in the world. And guess what happens with billionaires. They
- 23:24Speaker 1: like the whole public public office. For some reason, they
- 23:27Speaker 1: just like to run for office. All the way from
- 23:30Speaker 1: Caruso running for mayor, which he didn't get to, Megan
- 23:34Speaker 1: Whitman ran for governor, didn't get there. We just have
- 23:40Speaker 1: Bill Donald Trump, billionaire who got there. And so we
- 23:44Speaker 1: have a lot of billionaires. Why because it's kind of
- 23:48Speaker 1: fun for them, you know, Okay, billionaires, Well, I don't
- 23:51Speaker 1: have anything to do. Wake up in the morning. Okay,
- 23:53Speaker 1: let's run for office. Because they have certainly succeeded in
- 23:57Speaker 1: any any and every way possible financially. And it is
- 24:03Speaker 1: really interesting. OXFAM which is a British non nonprofit and
- 24:11Speaker 1: it talks about economic justice. OXFAM America report just came out.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Seventy four of the world's two thousand billionaires held either
- 24:23Speaker 1: executive or legislative government positions in twenty twenty three. That's
- 24:27Speaker 1: the last year for figures Now that's not a lot.
- 24:30Speaker 1: That's three point six chance of holding office. According to Oxfam.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Now the average global citizen, which is we who are
- 24:43Speaker 1: not billionaires, we have a point zero zero zero nine
- 24:49Speaker 1: percent chance of holding public office. And according to Rebecca Riddell,
- 24:56Speaker 1: this year report really shines a light on the relationship
- 25:00Speaker 1: between political inequality economic inequality, and so why not why not?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Forbes came out of this and this is coinciding with
- 25:11Speaker 1: a kickoff of the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Big you will hear a lot about that. And this
- 25:18Speaker 1: is this elite gathering of some of the richest people
- 25:20Speaker 1: in the world as well as world leaders, and they schmooze.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Let me just walk around, have a good time. Major
- 25:27Speaker 1: deals are struck at DeVos. I think the sale of
- 25:34Speaker 1: Pixar to Disney happened at DeVos, and they just walk around.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Now I think there are breakouts and there's a keynote speaker,
- 25:44Speaker 1: But for the most part, I would think the food
- 25:46Speaker 1: tod be great. You know it's I want to do
- 25:48Speaker 1: a story about that. And So a quick word about
- 25:52Speaker 1: President Trump in this particular, in this term, he has
- 25:59Speaker 1: a se the wealthiest cabinet and team in modern American history,
- 26:03Speaker 1: multiple billionaires, multi millionaires leading government agencies. And that's what
- 26:10Speaker 1: is done. And here is one of the controversies, because
- 26:15Speaker 1: the Republican led Congress last year enacted a sweeping domestic
- 26:20Speaker 1: policy package, big tax cuts for the wealthy and cuts
- 26:25Speaker 1: to the safety net programs. But this is the president's view,
- 26:29Speaker 1: is the Republican's view, certainly the magaview that social programs
- 26:34Speaker 1: are not something the United States should move towards or have,
- 26:40Speaker 1: and should be cut relative to enforcement of the border
- 26:43Speaker 1: and our military defense. And it's simply a question of
- 26:48Speaker 1: what the priorities are. So the other thing about billionaires.
- 26:52Speaker 1: In twenty twenty five, their wealth grew three times faster
- 26:57Speaker 1: than the past five years, reaching eighteen point three trillion dollars,
- 27:04Speaker 1: And that's equal to about half of the entire wealth
- 27:08Speaker 1: held by four point one billion people on the planet.
- 27:14Speaker 1: The lower half of the population around the world has
- 27:19Speaker 1: less money than these billionaires. Unfortunately, most of the world.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We are so blessed because you have so many people
- 27:29Speaker 1: around the world, poor, poor, poor people in Africa and
- 27:34Speaker 1: in India, where they struggle for a dollar a day.
- 27:39Speaker 1: They wake up in the morning and all they do
- 27:42Speaker 1: is figure out how they're going to eat that night.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Families do that. Can you imagine living that way? Can
- 27:47Speaker 1: you imagine living because and having kids and they go
- 27:53Speaker 1: to work at six because families have to be fed,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and there's so much of the world that is that way.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It's really unfortunate. KFI am sixty. You've been listening to
