Speaker 1: You know, normally we we wait to bring on the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: VIP guests, but I just have to jump right in.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: I am so taken by how ridiculously breathtaking you are
• 0:11
  Speaker 1: in this episode.
• 0:13
Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
• 0:14
Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie Donald. I texted her while I
• 0:16
Speaker 1: was watching it and said, you know, I don't mean to.
• 0:19
Speaker 3: Keep it classic, keep it, keep it class.
• 0:22
Speaker 1: Now. I'm not gonna get in trouble with Bill. I
• 0:24
Speaker 1: just want to say I am not to be superficial
• 0:26
Speaker 1: and just talk about looks. She's also a very very
• 0:28
Speaker 1: very funny woman. But holy crap, are you beautiful in
• 0:32
Speaker 1: this episode. And I can say that because you're being
• 0:35
Speaker 1: sexual and luring Johnny C into the bedroom, so I'm
• 0:38
Speaker 1: allowed to comment on that, Donald.
• 0:40
Speaker 3: But she's doing it in such a that's the way
• 0:42
Speaker 3: it's supposed to be. When your booty calling with your
• 0:45
Speaker 3: ex right comes over. She says, yo, let's do this,
• 0:49
Speaker 3: and you say yeah, let's do this, and then that's it.
• 0:52
Speaker 3: That's the rule them By the way, Christa, I used
• 0:55
Speaker 3: to say that all the time to Casey when I
• 0:58
Speaker 3: would have her come over at like, you know, ten
• 1:01
Speaker 3: thirty at night. Them's the rules of the booty call baby.
• 1:03
Speaker 3: I used to say that shit to her all the time. Really, yeah, absolutely.
• 1:08
Speaker 1: Christ I love how in control Jordan is. She just
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: and I think it's a good I mean not that
• 1:14
Speaker 1: we were the first show to ever do this, but
• 1:16
Speaker 1: I think it was a good message for women. It
• 1:18
Speaker 1: was kind of like, hey, you can be if you
• 1:20
Speaker 1: want sex, like, no shame, go get yours, Go be
• 1:23
Speaker 1: in charge of the booty call.
• 1:25
Speaker 4: Go get yours, make it happen, Make make it happen
• 1:28
Speaker 4: for yourself. I always tell my friends this on a
• 1:31
Speaker 4: different note, you know, know how to make it happen
• 1:34
Speaker 4: for yourself and follow through.
• 1:36
Speaker 5: Yeah, do w at you taking shit off anyone?
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Yeah? And Jordan was like, you know, I don't want
• 1:43
Speaker 1: to hear you talk, like, just shut up, take your
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: fucking clothes off.
• 1:46
Speaker 3: First of all, how are you sorry?
• 1:48
Speaker 1: How I got excited? I was just watching an episode.
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: I got excited.
• 1:51
Speaker 4: I miss you And it was so sweet to hear
• 1:54
Speaker 4: from you guys for my birthday.
• 1:56
Speaker 2: So I really appreciate it.
• 1:57
Speaker 3: Thank you, no doubt. How's your corn going?
• 2:01
Speaker 2: You know it's my wet dream to be quarantined.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: There's people like Chris, I know, I'm sure if you're listening,
• 2:10
Speaker 1: you know who, Like, wait, you're telling me I don't
• 2:12
Speaker 1: have to leave the house, and no one will give
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: me a ship.
• 2:17
Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it's it's not as easy for
• 2:22
Speaker 4: your friend Bill Lawrence, who wants to be around people
• 2:25
  Speaker 4: all the time.
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: Does he tell you that I put him downstairs?
• 2:29
Speaker 1: Yeah? Tell us about that. He told us that. You said,
• 2:31
Speaker 1: that's your office. What's that story?
• 2:33
Speaker 4: Well, I anticipated that quarantine would be a disaster for
• 2:37
Speaker 4: our marriage and we would ultimately end up divorced if
• 2:40
Speaker 4: there weren't certain rules followed. And because Bill left his
• 2:45
Speaker 4: own devices would follow me around the house all day,
• 2:48
Speaker 4: want to see what I'm doing, you know, feign interest
• 2:52
Speaker 4: in things he wasn't interested in. And so I put him.
• 2:57
Speaker 4: I put him desk in our downstairs guest bedroom.
• 3:01
Speaker 5: I said, it all up. Make sure there's a big
• 3:03
  Speaker 5: TV in there.
• 3:04
Speaker 4: I set it up as a little piedater like one
• 3:07
Speaker 4: might have a little studio apartment in New York.
• 3:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, and he is. He can come out for lunch.
• 3:21
Speaker 1: By the way, he's so By the way, Bill is
• 3:23
Speaker 1: so afraid of Christa. This is a funny thing that
• 3:26
Speaker 1: Donald and I have witnessed, Like when we did this
• 3:28
Speaker 1: show for nine years. Bill was the boss and he
• 3:30
Speaker 1: was the big brother, and he could be scary at times.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: And then the second he was around Christa, it automatically
• 3:35
Speaker 1: switched and he was like yes, Crystal, yes Chris. And
• 3:38
Speaker 1: Bill was like, this isn't a joke. Bill's like, no, no,
• 3:40
Speaker 1: I have to go to the office. I'm like, what
• 3:42
Speaker 1: do you mean, we're in quarantine. He's like no, no, Krista
• 3:44
Speaker 1: made in office for me and I have to go.
• 3:50
Speaker 3: It's very much It's very much like uh, Cox and Jordan.
• 3:55
Speaker 3: I've never seen Cox slump his shoulders like that, like
• 4:00
Speaker 3: like he does at the end of the episode.
• 4:02
  Speaker 5: Sad.
• 4:03
Speaker 3: I know, yeh Sadody right, You've never see that in
• 4:06
Speaker 3: the show. But here comes Jordan and he's like uh.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: And Bill walks around and his chest is all out,
• 4:13
Speaker 3: and Krista comes around and he sinks down like okay,
• 4:16
Speaker 3: you got it. He submits.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: I think that's very healthy for your relationship. I'm sure
• 4:21
Speaker 1: you do too, Christa. But like a guy, I mean
• 4:24
Speaker 1: talk about that because I think a guy like Bill,
• 4:27
Speaker 1: and I know other men and probably women and vice
• 4:29
Speaker 1: versa like this. When they're at work, they're kind of
• 4:31
Speaker 1: the boss. They're the alpha, and they come home and
• 4:34
Speaker 1: they need the ying yang of someone be like, no,
• 4:36
Speaker 1: you're not the fucking boss anymore. Okay, there's your room,
• 4:38
Speaker 1: go to your room.
• 4:39
  Speaker 2: Yeah, don't.
• 4:40
Speaker 4: I don't work for you, but I will say this
• 4:48
Speaker 4: at work because I think Bill is so talented at
• 4:53
Speaker 4: his job, and he takes on jokes and how they
• 4:59
Speaker 4: should be on is so spun on. He also has
• 5:03
Speaker 4: the quality, as you guys know, is that if you
• 5:05
Speaker 4: say I want to try it this way.
• 5:07
Speaker 2: He'll say try it.
• 5:08
Speaker 4: If your ways better, He'll say, you're right, your ways better.
• 5:12
Speaker 4: So I have a lot of trusted him so work,
• 5:13
Speaker 4: actually I was quite You guys didn't notice it, but
• 5:17
Speaker 4: that for me was deferential to Bill.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: What you why I saw it When you switched to
• 5:22
Speaker 1: work mode, you were always like, hey, can I try
• 5:25
Speaker 1: it this way? Or you know you you you totally switch.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: But I just love because I'm so close with you guys,
• 5:30
Speaker 1: and I spent so much time with you at your home.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: It's it was always fun for you. I mean now
• 5:35
Speaker 1: we're all best friends, but back in the day when
• 5:37
Speaker 1: I didn't know you as well, it was always so
• 5:38
Speaker 1: much fun for me to see Bill under Christ's thumb.
• 5:44
Speaker 2: Wait, Zach has witnessed you.
• 5:45
Speaker 4: I don't know if you want to talk about now
• 5:47
Speaker 4: the stop hug to Donald's.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: Bill is so pussy whipped. If I can say that,
• 5:55
Speaker 1: christ I hope it's not too jarring. Well they go
• 6:01
Speaker 1: on to Howard Stern all the time, these two, and
• 6:03
Speaker 1: you can say, so everything is going to be tame
• 6:06
Speaker 1: compared to what these two talk about on Howard sterned together.
• 6:09
Speaker 1: But I Bill is so pussy wiped. But Christy, you
• 6:11
Speaker 1: tell the story. But I feel it's so adorable and
• 6:14
Speaker 1: my heart goes out for him.
• 6:16
Speaker 4: But no, but you, you were on my side by
• 6:19
Speaker 4: the end of the summer.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: No, I never was. I love you, but I felt
• 6:23
Speaker 1: the guy just the guy, just the guy just wants
• 6:26
Speaker 1: to hug his wife. The poor guy just wants to
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: hug his wife.
• 6:29
Speaker 2: Maybe I'll have Donald, so Donald.
• 6:32
Speaker 4: What happens is, I am I'm the way to be
• 6:36
  Speaker 4: doing something. I'm I'm working, I'm organizing, I'm writing, and
• 6:40
Speaker 4: Bill and or I'll have my hands full of things.
• 6:43
Speaker 5: And Bill goes stop hug and he and he needs
• 6:53
  Speaker 5: to stop hug.
• 6:54
  Speaker 4: And I I would say to Zach, decent, it's you're
• 7:00
  Speaker 4: not explaining it.
• 7:01
Speaker 1: Stop hugging. Stop hugmant that she would have to put
• 7:03
Speaker 1: her things down, no matter what was happening and give
• 7:05
Speaker 1: him a long, tight embrace. And Christa, we were staying
• 7:08
Speaker 1: in on Long Island together and Chris's like, no, what
• 7:11
Speaker 1: the fuck are you talking about. We're not stop hugging
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: right now.
• 7:14
Speaker 4: I'd be we'd be out of the boat and I'm I'm,
• 7:17
Speaker 4: you know, tying up the boat or trying to get
• 7:20
Speaker 4: the anchor up, and Bill be like, stop hug no, no.
• 7:26
Speaker 1: It's so fun for Donald and I because I.
• 7:29
Speaker 3: Mean, it didn't hurt us. Do you know how long
• 7:32
Speaker 3: it took for him to hug us.
• 7:33
Speaker 1: He couldn't even hug us. We had to Now he's
• 7:35
Speaker 1: a hugger. We took it. Took a decade, but we
• 7:38
Speaker 1: turned him into a mail on mail hugger. But in
• 7:40
Speaker 1: the beginning, he'd be like, high five, we're huggers.
• 7:43
  Speaker 6: Hit you.
• 7:44
Speaker 3: He would tap you on the should hey buddy.
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: Yeah, hey buddy.
• 7:49
Speaker 4: No, he would he will say, now I'm not speaking
• 7:53
Speaker 4: out of school, that he would like to have an
• 7:55
Speaker 4: adult baby beorn for me.
• 7:57
Speaker 2: To climb into, wear me around the house. Dured quarantine.
• 8:06
Speaker 5: That's why I had to get him the office.
• 8:08
Speaker 3: But by the way, I have to say, that sounds amazing.
• 8:12
Speaker 1: There are so many husbands and wives. How long have
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: you been married?
• 8:16
  Speaker 2: Twenty years?
• 8:16
Speaker 1: There are so many husbands and wives who are so
• 8:19
Speaker 1: over each other sadly after twenty years. And Bill is
• 8:22
Speaker 1: so incredibly in love with you. I mean it has
• 8:25
Speaker 1: not turned down one cell from the day you met.
• 8:29
Speaker 1: And I think that's so sweet. So my heart always
• 8:31
Speaker 1: goes out to him sometimes when you're like, Bill, go
• 8:33
Speaker 1: to your fucking office. No, stop hugs, right, Zach, you
• 8:38
Speaker 1: have to watch for that.
• 8:39
Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I love him so much. He gets plenty
• 8:43
Speaker 4: of sex, he gets plenty of cuddles. Enough's enough. I
• 8:46
Speaker 4: mean you feel sorry for someone who gets a lot
• 8:49
  Speaker 4: of things.
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: That's a lot of attention.
• 8:51
  Speaker 3: Yeah, well, listen.
• 8:53
Speaker 1: I forgot this thing. By the way, I was about to.
• 8:55
Speaker 3: Say, I was about to say, that's a great way
• 8:56
Speaker 3: to start the show.
• 8:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill gets Bill Lawrence gets plenty of sex. Everybody,
• 9:03
Speaker 1: I'm not show. We made about a bunch of said
• 9:10
Speaker 1: he's the stories, so Christa, we got to go back
• 9:26
Speaker 1: to the beginning. And now that we've sung ourselves Donald
• 9:30
Speaker 1: no Donald, I'm gonna lead.
• 9:32
Speaker 3: I was, okay, go ahead, man, I.
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: Know you're excited.
• 9:34
  Speaker 3: I turned.
• 9:35
Speaker 1: I was told to turn the game down on my mic.
• 9:37
Speaker 1: I was so excited by Dan. Dan had an intervention
• 9:40
Speaker 1: and said, turn down your mic. You're too giddy. Christa,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: tell us, we're gonna go way back to the beginning.
• 9:45
Speaker 1: Whenever we have our co stars on, we like to
• 9:48
Speaker 1: start the beginning. Even before you met Bill, you were
• 9:52
Speaker 1: in New York. You grew up in Manhattan, and tell
• 9:55
Speaker 1: us about being going from modeling to acting. Like that
• 9:58
Speaker 1: section of your life where it was working as a
• 10:00
Speaker 1: model and then into Drew Carey Well.
• 10:03
Speaker 4: I always I went to acting class at night. In
• 10:06
Speaker 4: high school, I went to American Academy of Dramatic Arts
• 10:10
Speaker 4: and then the neighborhood playoffs, and I would ride my bike.
• 10:12
Speaker 4: I had a tend speed bike in New York. I
• 10:14
Speaker 4: would go to school and then I would play in
• 10:17
Speaker 4: some varsity sport that I was in, like basketball or volleyball,
• 10:20
Speaker 4: and then I would ride my bike down to the
• 10:24
Speaker 4: American Academy of Dramatic Arts and take acting classes. I
• 10:26
Speaker 4: always wanted to be an actor, and modeling was just
• 10:31
Speaker 4: a way to make money. And I originally came out
• 10:37
Speaker 4: here because I got an audition for A League of
• 10:42
Speaker 4: their Own when David Ansbrod was first directing it. And
• 10:47
Speaker 4: when he was doing it, you had to pass, and
• 10:49
Speaker 4: they knew I was. You had to be a real
• 10:51
Speaker 4: baseball player, So you had to go down with one
• 10:55
Speaker 4: of the head coach for one of the baseball teams
• 11:00
Speaker 4: for like this three hour baseball audition before you were
• 11:04
Speaker 4: even allowed to read. And so I did that. I
• 11:10
Speaker 4: got the part. David Outspot ultimately got fired from the
• 11:15
Speaker 4: movie and Penny Marshall took over and I ended up
• 11:19
Speaker 4: dating him, but staying out here and starting with, you know,
• 11:25
Speaker 4: doing acting, and what happens is I got an episode
• 11:29
Speaker 4: of The Fresh Prince of bel Air.
• 11:31
Speaker 1: That was your first job.
• 11:33
Speaker 4: No, it wasn't my first job, but I it was
• 11:37
Speaker 4: one of the first few ones.
• 11:39
Speaker 2: And it was so fun.
• 11:41
Speaker 4: Will Smith would he did this first of all, there's
• 11:45
Speaker 4: loud music playing anytime they cut, loud music playing on stage.
• 11:50
Speaker 2: He was so lovely and he.
• 11:52
Speaker 4: Would do these speed throughs with everybody and just it
• 11:57
Speaker 4: was such a fun thing. And I thought, why am
• 11:59
Speaker 4: I doing this drama? Painful memories of childhood? I don't
• 12:06
Speaker 4: want to do it, and that was what got me
• 12:08
Speaker 4: started to want to do comedy.
• 12:09
Speaker 1: Well, and also, you're funny, and I think that one
• 12:13
Speaker 1: thing that Hollywood really embraces. You know, there's there's there's
• 12:17
Speaker 1: plenty of pretty people, but a pretty person who can
• 12:19
Speaker 1: be hilarious like you can be. It was no doubt
• 12:22
Speaker 1: that you were gonna have a big career.
• 12:23
Speaker 3: Well, I was gonna say, I was gonna I was
• 12:25
Speaker 3: gonna say later on in the conversation, but I think
• 12:28
Speaker 3: I want to say it now. We uh, like, we
• 12:32
Speaker 3: we watched this bat we watched this show back, and
• 12:34
Speaker 3: it's been such a long time since we've seen the
• 12:36
Speaker 3: show that we tend to forget a lot of things.
• 12:39
Speaker 3: And one thing that I forgot was how funny you are. Christa,
• 12:44
Speaker 3: Like every one of your jokes lands every time, and
• 12:47
Speaker 3: the sarcasm and the sass, it all shines through. And
• 12:51
Speaker 3: so when I'm watching these episodes, I'm like, in my mind,
• 12:54
Speaker 3: I'm like, of course they get back together. They mirror
• 12:57
Speaker 3: each other so well, you know what I mean. And
• 13:00
Speaker 3: you know John C's characters put into the show to
• 13:04
Speaker 3: be you know, this sarcastic mentor for JD. It's only
• 13:09
Speaker 3: right that he has a sarcastic wife, you know, or
• 13:14
Speaker 3: ex wife or love interest on the show. And so
• 13:17
Speaker 3: when when watching this, it's like it's like you guys
• 13:20
Speaker 3: are playing tennis, you know what I mean, and he's
• 13:23
Speaker 3: hitting it to you and you're spiking it back, and
• 13:25
Speaker 3: he's like, oh shit, let me spike it back, you
• 13:28
Speaker 3: know what I mean. It's so great to watch.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: It's a lot like the banter of Bill and Christa.
• 13:32
Speaker 1: I mean, they they do that sparring back and forth
• 13:35
Speaker 1: and the sarcasm back and forth and can be quite biting.
• 13:40
Speaker 1: I once said to them, did you guys meet it mean? Camp?
• 13:44
Speaker 2: Donald, that's so sweet of you to say thank you.
• 13:46
Speaker 4: You know, when I watch my boys have been watching,
• 13:50
Speaker 4: going through and watching Scrubs, all the episodes. Anytime I
• 13:53
Speaker 4: go in the kitchen, I'll watch and I think, see
• 13:56
Speaker 4: how good you guys are, and you see how like
• 13:59
Speaker 4: every show show you guys get more and more in
• 14:03
Speaker 4: the groove better and and and Donald, your physical comedy is.
• 14:09
Speaker 2: So strong and you allow it.
• 14:12
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 14:12
Speaker 4: I think it was maybe because it was in a
• 14:14
Speaker 4: hospital and everyone was there together. It was like this
• 14:17
Speaker 4: very safe place to like kind of bring your a game, right.
• 14:22
Speaker 4: That's what I felt on that show. You would step
• 14:25
Speaker 4: in and also that you would want to be friends
• 14:28
Speaker 4: with everybody, you know, from the crew to the cat
• 14:33
Speaker 4: to everyone that was there. But you just step in
• 14:35
Speaker 4: and you're in a safe place to do that.
• 14:38
Speaker 1: You know that the show would not have worked at
• 14:41
Speaker 1: all if there wasn't this environment of there's no wrong answer, right.
• 14:46
Speaker 1: You know, actors can were so neurotic. You can get
• 14:48
Speaker 1: in your head and go, oh, I'm not making anyone laugh,
• 14:50
Speaker 1: or I don't want to do that because it's if
• 14:51
Speaker 1: it's they don't laugh, I feel stupid. Bill and the
• 14:55
Speaker 1: crew and everyone and us. We created this environment where
• 14:58
Speaker 1: like go nuts, like there there is no wrong answer,
• 15:01
Speaker 1: like if you if you go too far, don't worry.
• 15:04
  Speaker 1: We'll choose a take that that's that isn't as broad,
• 15:07
Speaker 1: but like it gave all of us the freedom to
• 15:09
Speaker 1: just fucking go for.
• 15:10
Speaker 3: It right well and doing and doing this rewatch right now.
• 15:13
Speaker 3: It's really what's really fun to watch is how when
• 15:17
Speaker 3: we first started, how tight we all were, you know
• 15:19
Speaker 3: what I mean, we were all so tight, and now
• 15:21
Speaker 3: we're starting, we're what is this episode one?
• 15:24
  Speaker 6: What?
• 15:25
Speaker 3: Uh seventeen eighteen, eighteen one eighteen. We're all starting to
• 15:31
Speaker 3: really loosen up now, you know what I mean, And
• 15:33
Speaker 3: everybody's starting to spread out and you can feel that
• 15:36
Speaker 3: the nervous energy is gone and we're starting to play
• 15:39
Speaker 3: on camera, and uh yeah, but well here's my point.
• 15:42
Speaker 3: My point was, when you came in, you were already there.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: You were all ready to play, already ready to play.
• 15:48
Speaker 3: And I think that has a lot to do with
• 15:49
Speaker 3: you doing Drew Carrey at the time, and being on
• 15:51
Speaker 3: television for what it was like seven years at this point,
• 15:54
Speaker 3: eight years at this point.
• 15:55
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 15:56
  Speaker 4: Well, also because it's a live audience, so you're you're
• 15:58
  Speaker 4: used to it.
• 15:59
  Speaker 2: But I wasn't. I wasn't.
• 16:00
Speaker 4: I was tight because I wasn't used to the medium
• 16:06
Speaker 4: of single camera comedy, which is different, you know than
• 16:10
Speaker 4: doing a sitcom. But I remember Bill said to me,
• 16:14
Speaker 4: and it might have been on this episode, he said,
• 16:17
Speaker 4: you know, when it's not your coverage, And I don't
• 16:20
Speaker 4: know if you want to explain. You know, when the
• 16:22
Speaker 4: camera's not on you, you're doing broad, funny, crazy things, and
• 16:30
Speaker 4: I want you to do at least two of those
• 16:33
Speaker 4: takes when it's when the camera's on you right, and
• 16:36
  Speaker 4: I was like, Oh, I am having a disconnect. I'm
• 16:39
Speaker 4: so much freer and looser when the cameras.
• 16:43
Speaker 1: Mean you're doing off camera, you're doing.
• 16:47
Speaker 2: GENI ship off camera. You might want to you might
• 16:49
Speaker 2: want to meld the two.
• 16:51
Speaker 1: So Donald Donald just brought just talk about Drew for
• 16:53
Speaker 1: a second, because it was a big chunk of your life.
• 16:55
Speaker 1: You're one of the you're one of the lucky actors
• 16:59
Speaker 1: in the in the world of Hollywood that can go
• 17:01
Speaker 1: from one successful show to another. We talked about how
• 17:04
Speaker 1: Neil Flynn did that. After Scrubs, he then went and
• 17:07
Speaker 1: starred on The Middle Forever.
• 17:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, eleven years or some shit like that.
• 17:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, So what was the obviously just a reminding audience
• 17:14
Speaker 1: that don't know the difference. Sitcoms are filmed like a play.
• 17:17
Speaker 1: They're done in front of a live audience. That's why
• 17:19
Speaker 1: you hear the laughs. And you know, they set up
• 17:22
Speaker 1: four or five cameras and they and they shoot it
• 17:24
Speaker 1: like a play and they cut in between them, whereas
• 17:26
Speaker 1: when we shoot Scrubs there's no audience. We're shooting it
• 17:28
Speaker 1: like a movie with one angle at a time or
• 17:31
Speaker 1: two angles at a time. So talk a little bit
• 17:33
Speaker 1: about Drew Krista and what that experience was like, and
• 17:37
Speaker 1: again transitioning to scrubs from.
• 17:40
Speaker 4: That, you know, it was so unusual. I mean, you
• 17:43
Speaker 4: know this that you're not working and then you you're
• 17:47
Speaker 4: all of a sudden you're on a show.
• 17:50
Speaker 2: You know, it was just and doing twenty.
• 17:53
Speaker 4: Six episodes and you're on this big show. And I
• 17:57
Speaker 4: had so much fun. And it was also a great
• 18:00
Speaker 4: learning experience because it is it was so foreign to
• 18:04
Speaker 4: me that particular medium of doing it like that, because
• 18:08
Speaker 4: you realize, you know, when you're doing a sitcom, the
• 18:11
Speaker 4: audience and we've all done them, the audience becomes on
• 18:15
Speaker 4: show night, another character in the scene. And so it's
• 18:20
Speaker 4: really about listening and being able to change your jokes
• 18:24
Speaker 4: and not being married to a joke that you might
• 18:27
Speaker 4: have done funny in the table reader sometime during the week.
• 18:30
Speaker 4: It's really about listening and being organic, because if you're not,
• 18:33
Speaker 4: you're going to get stuck. It's just everything's going to
• 18:36
  Speaker 4: be flat.
• 18:37
Speaker 1: They also give you such a high, though, don't they Like.
• 18:39
Speaker 4: You could never go to sleep, I would come home,
• 18:42
Speaker 4: I would take a bath, I would do you have
• 18:44
Speaker 4: to do everything talk about booty calls after night.
• 18:50
Speaker 3: So nice, what you're doing. What you're doing? Well, I
• 18:53
Speaker 3: just finished the show. I know what that means.
• 19:00
Speaker 5: Yeah, because you can't go to sleep.
• 19:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember I did. I did the excess for
• 19:08
Speaker 3: three four years after Scrubs, and uh I remember. Show
• 19:13
Speaker 3: nights were the hardest nights to go to sleep. Every
• 19:16
Speaker 3: other night you could pass out, no problem, but you're
• 19:18
Speaker 3: just so high from doing the show and you know,
• 19:22
Speaker 3: and it's hard to come down when, especially when the
• 19:24
Speaker 3: show felt like it went good and like you said,
• 19:26
Speaker 3: the audience gives you all of this energy and you
• 19:29
Speaker 3: could be tired going into the show, but then after
• 19:31
Speaker 3: you're like, dude, where are we going? What are we doing?
• 19:34
Speaker 4: No, I have a good can I can mix Drew
• 19:38
Speaker 4: Carrey and Scrubs in a story.
• 19:42
  Speaker 2: So Drew got.
• 19:43
Speaker 4: Into improv, yeah, which I think is the work of
• 19:47
  Speaker 4: the devil.
• 19:48
  Speaker 2: And I.
• 19:50
Speaker 4: Don't like doing improv and I don't like watching improv.
• 19:54
Speaker 4: So Drew wanted to do these and Brian did improv
• 19:58
Speaker 4: and you know, blah blah blah. So he want to
• 20:00
Speaker 4: do these episodes live one year on Drew. That would
• 20:04
Speaker 4: be a live episode already, which would be nerve wracking.
• 20:06
  Speaker 2: Because it's live.
• 20:08
Speaker 4: And then secondly have it be improv so while you
• 20:12
Speaker 4: were doing the show, they would press a button and
• 20:16
Speaker 4: then you would have to change the line.
• 20:19
Speaker 3: Oh god, okay, So I was I.
• 20:23
Speaker 1: Anxious hearing about it.
• 20:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, so I was like, fuck that noise, because I
• 20:27
  Speaker 4: don't I'm not a writer. I don't want to do it.
• 20:30
Speaker 4: So this became the most fun thing ever that we
• 20:33
Speaker 4: would go. We would I would take my script into
• 20:36
Speaker 4: the Scrubs writer's room because it started when when we
• 20:39
Speaker 4: were at Scrubs and every line I had all the
• 20:43
Speaker 4: Scrubs writers and it would they would we would stop
• 20:46
  Speaker 4: for the day.
• 20:47
Speaker 2: And they would write.
• 20:49
Speaker 5: They would write all the all jokes that were.
• 20:54
Speaker 4: Really funny, Like they're no better writers ever than this,
• 20:58
Speaker 4: that Scrubs writers, Right, so they're writing the funniest all jokes.
• 21:03
Speaker 2: But Drew didn't know.
• 21:05
Speaker 4: And so then on show night, and I remember this
• 21:07
Speaker 4: one particular night, all the Scrubs writers came and they
• 21:10
Speaker 4: were sitting with Bill and they're all excited because they
• 21:13
Speaker 4: know the button's going to be passed and I'm going
• 21:15
Speaker 4: to say one of their jokes that I've memorized.
• 21:19
Speaker 2: So it's not anything improv about it. You have to walk.
• 21:23
Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to send you that this one show
• 21:25
Speaker 4: because you'll die laughing. So I am doing it and
• 21:29
Speaker 4: Drew's getting so mad that he keeps pressing the button for.
• 21:34
  Speaker 5: Me to do.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: But I have locked and loaded.
• 21:40
Speaker 4: I got so many locked and loaded that I had
• 21:44
Speaker 4: an applause break on my jokes and Drew a bit.
• 21:49
Speaker 2: He was so mad.
• 21:50
Speaker 4: He's like, but that's not really improv. I'm like, but
• 21:53
Speaker 4: I'm I don't do improv, so what difference is it make?
• 21:56
Speaker 4: And I sold it to you know how you can
• 21:58
Speaker 4: sell improv like your luck, like your Yeah you do
• 22:05
  Speaker 4: the little ship?
• 22:06
  Speaker 2: Oh look up?
• 22:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta sell it to the audience.
• 22:12
Speaker 3: What episode is this? Because maybe our listeners want to
• 22:15
  Speaker 3: go My listeners.
• 22:16
Speaker 1: Are gonna want to check.
• 22:18
Speaker 2: I know I will. I have to find out.
• 22:20
Speaker 1: I'm sure if you google uh Drew Carey improvisational episodes,
• 22:25
  Speaker 1: they'll find him.
• 22:26
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 22:26
Speaker 1: And so did Drew know that? I mean he must
• 22:28
Speaker 1: have known that Bill was because Bill was a famous
• 22:31
  Speaker 1: TV writer, So.
• 22:32
Speaker 4: Well, yeah, well he knew when he saw all their
• 22:34
Speaker 4: And also, you know when writers hear their own jokes.
• 22:37
Speaker 5: They're hysterical, right, they go crazy right, So I had
• 22:40
Speaker 5: already sold it by looking up like on his coming.
• 22:43
Speaker 2: And then then then it would be this huge.
• 22:44
Speaker 4: Laugh, which I would have never gotten because I'm not
• 22:47
Speaker 4: that funny on my feet live.
• 22:49
Speaker 3: I'm here to tell you, well, okay, I've seen you
• 22:51
Speaker 3: live before and you're wonderful.
• 22:53
Speaker 2: Donald. I love you, thank you.
• 22:55
Speaker 4: So yeah, they were all hysterical, like just more hysterical
• 23:00
  Speaker 4: than normal people.
• 23:01
Speaker 2: So Drew just knew.
• 23:04
Speaker 4: He just knew it was all the Scrubs writers, and
• 23:06
Speaker 4: I had memorized one hundred jokes.
• 23:09
Speaker 1: Drew looks up and he's like, why is the entire
• 23:11
Speaker 1: Scrubs writers right here at an improv at an improv
• 23:15
Speaker 1: d being of Drew carry I've never really I've done
• 23:22
Speaker 1: a guest on on Donald's Diit com and i've and
• 23:24
Speaker 1: we did our Scrubs one, but I've never really had
• 23:27
Speaker 1: a role on one. And what I always love is
• 23:30
Speaker 1: going and standing next to people like Bill because when
• 23:33
Speaker 1: a joke for those of you who don't know, when
• 23:34
Speaker 1: a joke doesn't work or it doesn't get a big laugh,
• 23:37
Speaker 1: then all the writers sort of huddle up on a
• 23:40
Speaker 1: non on a traditional one, not on an improblem, like
• 23:42
Speaker 1: like Chris is talking about and then they kind of
• 23:44
Speaker 1: come up with a better or an all joke. And
• 23:46
Speaker 1: I've had times where it's so much fun. Hre, I'll
• 23:48
Speaker 1: whisper and Bill's ear like a joke pitch, and then
• 23:51
Speaker 1: some actor I've never met before says the line, gets
• 23:55
Speaker 1: a huge laugh, and I'm just like celebrated, like, well,
• 23:58
Speaker 1: that was more fun than anything I've ever done.
• 24:00
Speaker 4: But didn't you used to do that a lot sack
• 24:02
Speaker 4: come into Undatable and be Bill. It was always as
• 24:05
Speaker 4: you said, I'm wanting Zach to come down.
• 24:07
Speaker 1: I did it on un Datable, I did it on
• 24:09
Speaker 1: some of his other ones, and I would come on
• 24:11
Speaker 1: show night just for that fun, because I love pitching
• 24:14
Speaker 1: jokes and when yours gets on and it gets a laugh,
• 24:16
Speaker 1: and especially when I've never even met the person saying
• 24:18
Speaker 1: it and they get it and they kill I'm like,
• 24:20
Speaker 1: that sounds good. It's like broadcast news. Remember when he
• 24:23
Speaker 1: when Albert Brooks calls Holly Hunter and he says, I
• 24:26
Speaker 1: say it here, it comes out there And it was
• 24:29
Speaker 1: just like whispering into Bill's ear. And then all of
• 24:31
Speaker 1: a sudden, some random not random, but an actor on
• 24:33
Speaker 1: the show I'd never met says it it was a
• 24:35
  Speaker 1: good feeling.
• 24:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, well when you came on to Ex's I remember
• 24:38
Speaker 3: that happened too, Like they had a whole different idea
• 24:41
Speaker 3: for what they wanted you to do, and you were like, no,
• 24:42
Speaker 3: you know, guys, don't you think it would be funny
• 24:44
Speaker 3: if I came in and I just wanted to fuck base.
• 24:48
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 24:49
  Speaker 3: Yeah, funny episode.
• 24:51
  Speaker 5: Man.
• 24:51
  Speaker 1: I try and Alwa's balanced. I don't want to be
• 24:53
Speaker 1: the guy who's like trying to write too many of
• 24:55
Speaker 1: my jokes. But if there's if they give me a
• 24:57
Speaker 1: little bit of rope, I'm like, all right, well, I'm
• 24:59
Speaker 1: gonna change the character now my character wants that sex.
• 25:02
Speaker 3: With that guy that was I remember. I remember being like,
• 25:07
Speaker 3: holy cow, dude, we're actually gonna make an entire episode
• 25:11
Speaker 3: about how Zach Braff's character wants to bang David Allen Bash.
• 25:15
Speaker 3: And it all came from you going up to the
• 25:17
Speaker 3: creator of that show saying, dude, yeah, that's funny, but
• 25:21
Speaker 3: wouldn't it be funnier if I tried to fuck this dude.
• 25:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be way funnier if I was trying to
• 25:26
Speaker 1: bang one of the leads of the show. It was great.
• 25:28
  Speaker 1: It's a good episode.
• 25:29
  Speaker 3: Great guys to.
• 25:30
Speaker 1: Check that out. Check out me guest starring on the
• 25:32
Speaker 1: Xes with the legendary Donald Faison. So wait, Chris to
• 25:37
Speaker 1: talk a little bit. We're gonna get into the show,
• 25:39
Speaker 1: but we just have I feel like we could do
• 25:40
Speaker 1: an hour and a half.
• 25:41
Speaker 3: We could do an hour just on asking questions. Right,
• 25:43
  Speaker 3: thank you.
• 25:44
Speaker 1: I want to know about you meeting Bill Lawrence.
• 25:47
Speaker 3: Well, I wanted to know that too.
• 25:48
Speaker 1: How but I want to know how. I mean, I've
• 25:51
Speaker 1: heard versions of this.
• 25:52
Speaker 3: But I want to he I've never heard this before.
• 25:54
Speaker 1: Listen. The guy was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan. He
• 25:57
Speaker 1: had a hit show, Spin City. They didn't shoot a
• 26:00
Speaker 1: lot of shows in New York at the time, and
• 26:02
Speaker 1: so Bill was a big deal and he was feeling himself.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: I think he had leech blonde hair for a while.
• 26:08
Speaker 1: And I want to know how is his game? How
• 26:09
Speaker 1: did he hit on you? How did he land a beautiful,
• 26:12
Speaker 1: talented woman like you?
• 26:13
Speaker 2: Well? Do you want to hear?
• 26:14
Speaker 4: The weirdest thing is that you know Bill was married before. Yeah,
• 26:18
Speaker 4: and his ex wife had one line on Drew Carey
• 26:24
Speaker 4: as a bartender when we first started the show, and
• 26:26
Speaker 4: I remember that she had the most beautiful engagement ring
• 26:30
Speaker 4: on and then one day this very handsome man came
• 26:36
Speaker 4: to visit her and I was like, I couldn't understand.
• 26:39
Speaker 2: It that she had this handsome husband.
• 26:42
Speaker 4: And I was just like full career, you know, I
• 26:45
Speaker 4: was so far away from I was only booty calls.
• 26:48
Speaker 4: I was just like on the career thing anyway. And
• 26:52
Speaker 4: that was Bill and that was his ex wife. But
• 26:55
Speaker 4: I didn't know it then. So I went to New York.
• 26:59
Speaker 4: You know they do the upfront to New York where
• 27:00
Speaker 4: they announced all the shows.
• 27:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, we've told that's what we've told, the famous story
• 27:04
Speaker 1: of Donald nugging Jeff Zucker to the people.
• 27:07
  Speaker 7: Right.
• 27:07
Speaker 4: So I went to go the upfronts and I was
• 27:10
Speaker 4: dating someone at the time who had some beef with ABC,
• 27:15
Speaker 4: an actor, but he flew with me to the upfronts
• 27:19
Speaker 4: and then he didn't want to Oh, and then I
• 27:22
Speaker 4: happened to go on Howard Stern with Drew carry and
• 27:26
Speaker 4: they made fun of this actor on Howard Stern And
• 27:33
Speaker 4: at that time with Howard Stern, they had the it
• 27:35
Speaker 4: was on E so you were also on camera. And
• 27:39
Speaker 4: what they did is put up a picture of this
• 27:42
Speaker 4: actor that I was doing ugh.
• 27:44
Speaker 1: I mean, I feel bad for the guy. That's horrible.
• 27:46
Speaker 4: But also I was now I'm on Howard, Who's Howard
• 27:50
Speaker 4: supersedes everybody. So I was laughing, right, and they broke
• 27:54
Speaker 4: the picture and then they cut to me and Drew
• 27:56
Speaker 4: is laughing so hard that he's pounding. He has what
• 27:58
Speaker 4: he laughs really hard to gets the high pitch laugh,
• 28:00
Speaker 4: which is so contagious. He's pounding the desk and I'm laughing.
• 28:05
Speaker 4: I came home and this particular actor was nowhere to
• 28:08
  Speaker 4: be found.
• 28:09
Speaker 3: He was on the plane back to lame.
• 28:12
Speaker 1: But I mean, in his defense, your your girlfriends on
• 28:16
Speaker 1: Howard Stern and they're all making fun of you. Rell.
• 28:20
Speaker 4: He had made a bad choice, but in career but anyway,
• 28:25
Speaker 4: so he declined that night to come with me to
• 28:29
  Speaker 4: the ABC party.
• 28:31
Speaker 1: I'm not and that's not going, and that's going, and
• 28:34
Speaker 1: that decision changed the course of his life and your
• 28:38
  Speaker 1: life forever.
• 28:39
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 28:40
Speaker 2: So, and I remember it was pouring rain.
• 28:42
Speaker 4: I was like, and they started late and Jamie Tarsis
• 28:46
Speaker 4: was throwing it. My friend Jamie Tarsis because she was
• 28:48
Speaker 4: the press of ABC at the time, and I had
• 28:52
Speaker 4: to go down to this party at the Merciall Hotel
• 28:55
  Speaker 4: by myself.
• 28:56
Speaker 1: And which is horrible mistake on this boy friends hard
• 29:01
Speaker 1: don't leave your beautiful girlfriend to go to a fancy
• 29:05
Speaker 1: party alone because you're pouding. I mean, that's a recipe for.
• 29:08
Speaker 5: Disaster, recipe for disasters.
• 29:10
Speaker 1: This is like a Catherine Heigel movie plot. I mean,
• 29:12
Speaker 1: I've seen this movie.
• 29:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, So I walk in. It gets better.
• 29:16
Speaker 4: And this actor's friend was friends with Alan Ruck. I
• 29:21
Speaker 4: knew Alan Ruck because of this actor boyfriend that I had.
• 29:26
Speaker 4: And Alan Ruck stood up and said, Krista, Hi, come
• 29:31
Speaker 4: meet everybody on my show.
• 29:34
Speaker 1: So Alan Ruck was one of the stars of Spin City. Yes,
• 29:37
Speaker 1: he was also Cameron from Faris Bueler's Day.
• 29:39
Speaker 4: Off Right, a very funny actor, lovely man. So I
• 29:44
Speaker 4: walked over to the their section Spin City section and
• 29:48
Speaker 4: Bill Lawrence stood up in a really cute suit right
• 29:53
Speaker 4: away and said, Hi, nice to meet you. And my
• 29:55
Speaker 4: first thing is I was like, what am I doing
• 29:57
Speaker 4: with this stupid actor when there's people like this in
• 30:01
  Speaker 4: the world.
• 30:01
Speaker 2: There's guys like this that are so cute.
• 30:04
Speaker 1: And did he ask for a stop hug? Did he
• 30:09
Speaker 1: ask for a stop hug?
• 30:10
  Speaker 2: No?
• 30:11
Speaker 4: But so I ended up I think just hanging with
• 30:14
Speaker 4: them the whole time. And then Bill said, I just
• 30:16
Speaker 4: bought this loft. Do you want to go see it? Now,
• 30:18
Speaker 4: I had grown up in New York, and I was like.
• 30:19
Speaker 1: By the way, there's no more power move in the world.
• 30:21
Speaker 1: Then do you want to come see this loft?
• 30:23
Speaker 2: I just bought a new loft. Do you want to
• 30:25
  Speaker 2: see it?
• 30:25
Speaker 4: And I of course was like a loft, sure, Like
• 30:29
Speaker 4: I had never seen one.
• 30:31
  Speaker 1: What's that?
• 30:32
  Speaker 5: What's that a loft?
• 30:34
Speaker 2: But this is where it went bad a little.
• 30:36
Speaker 4: So we to his go to his apartment and there
• 30:39
Speaker 4: was a girl that came over. It was like six
• 30:41
Speaker 4: of us, and I said to her, I didn't unbeknownst
• 30:46
Speaker 4: to me, she had a crush on him.
• 30:48
Speaker 2: And I said to her, who's this Bill Lawrence.
• 30:52
Speaker 4: He's pretty cute and she said, oh, he's a player.
• 30:57
  Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
• 30:58
Speaker 2: And so and then when we went up because we.
• 31:01
Speaker 4: Went up to his apartment and because it was the Upfronts,
• 31:03
Speaker 4: he had had a party in his loft the night before,
• 31:05
Speaker 4: so there was like cigarettes and it was just he
• 31:08
Speaker 4: had a whole party, was boot And I thought, oh, oh,
• 31:12
Speaker 4: he's just a player. He's trying to get on you know,
• 31:15
Speaker 4: forget it. And when I was leaving, Bill said, can
• 31:18
Speaker 4: I get your number?
• 31:18
Speaker 2: Can I call you? And I was like, if you
• 31:19
Speaker 2: can find me, you can call me, which he did.
• 31:22
Speaker 4: And that was in May, and then we didn't start
• 31:26
Speaker 4: dating until because he was in New York and I
• 31:30
Speaker 4: was in la We spoke on the phone, and then Thanksgiving,
• 31:33
Speaker 4: I was back in New York and I was walking
• 31:35
Speaker 4: by his apartment and I thought, I wonder how that
• 31:37
Speaker 4: cute Bill Lawrence is And I called him and he
• 31:41
Speaker 4: didn't call me back, but he called me back two
• 31:43
Speaker 4: days later, and he was in Jamaica, but I didn't
• 31:46
Speaker 4: know this, and he called me back and said you
• 31:49
Speaker 4: better be single, and I said I am, and he said, okay,
• 31:52
Speaker 4: I'm going to fly out on Saturday and take you
• 31:55
  Speaker 4: to dinner.
• 31:56
Speaker 1: Wow, Laurence Donald and I never got to wit. And
• 32:03
Speaker 1: we love this guy. He's so important to us, and
• 32:06
Speaker 1: we never got to see the legendary single version of him.
• 32:09
Speaker 1: We've heard tales, but what a what a good technique.
• 32:13
Speaker 1: I'm gonna fly out to take you on a date Donald, right.
• 32:16
Speaker 3: That listen, Man, if I had the bucks, that's exactly
• 32:21
Speaker 3: what I would do too.
• 32:23
Speaker 1: On that note, we're gonna go to a quick commercial break.
• 32:25
Speaker 1: We'll be right back with Christa Miller. Should we get
• 32:36
Speaker 1: into the episode, you guys.
• 32:38
Speaker 3: I think we should at some point. I you know,
• 32:41
  Speaker 3: I would, I wouldn't. I mean, I could literally.
• 32:43
Speaker 1: Do a full show just on Krista Miller.
• 32:45
Speaker 2: But I love you guys are making my year.
• 32:48
  Speaker 1: Well, I think you're a great guest.
• 32:51
Speaker 3: And so you have a lot of things that we
• 32:53
Speaker 3: wanted to talk about. One, yeah, because you have are
• 32:58
Speaker 3: the creator of the show that we both became very famous.
• 33:01
Speaker 3: Ones you have his heart. We love to hear insight
• 33:05
Speaker 3: about him and how you guys met and everything like that,
• 33:08
Speaker 3: and so forgive us.
• 33:10
Speaker 1: Especially things that are mildly embarrassing, like stop, yeah, like wait,
• 33:13
  Speaker 1: but is.
• 33:14
Speaker 4: The funniest should we have you told this story yet?
• 33:16
Speaker 4: On this that how Bill used to say to you guys.
• 33:20
  Speaker 4: Christ didn't like.
• 33:21
Speaker 1: Oh no, I haven't told that story.
• 33:24
Speaker 3: Oh god, yeah, not joke by Krista.
• 33:28
Speaker 1: And she was like, it's not the director first, you know,
• 33:30
Speaker 1: the director first does a cut of the episode, and
• 33:33
Speaker 1: then I would show it to Bill and I and
• 33:35
  Speaker 1: I'd choose a let's say, a particular joke that maybe
• 33:38
Speaker 1: was improv or something and that I thought was hilarious,
• 33:41
Speaker 1: and and I'd put in my cut and Bill be
• 33:42
Speaker 1: like And then I'd see Bill's cut, and as the director,
• 33:46
Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh, why did you take out that moment?
• 33:47
Speaker 1: That was so funny? Why did you do that? And
• 33:49
Speaker 1: he go, what are you talking about? No one understands
• 33:52
Speaker 1: that joke, And I'd be like, really, I mean we
• 33:54
Speaker 1: were all cracking up in the edit room, and he'd go, yeah,
• 33:57
Speaker 1: I showed it to Christa and she was like, what
• 33:59
  Speaker 1: the hell.
• 34:03
  Speaker 2: Don't understand it.
• 34:04
Speaker 1: Then I'd see Christa and I'd be like, Christy, you
• 34:07
Speaker 1: didn't think that joke is funny? And she'd be like, Zach,
• 34:09
Speaker 1: do you really think that I'm watching rough cuts?
• 34:16
  Speaker 2: In what world?
• 34:19
Speaker 1: He was such a fucking liar.
• 34:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, but he would do that also with the music too,
• 34:24
Speaker 4: Like I remember him telling you came up to you
• 34:26
Speaker 4: one time and said this song would work perfectly here.
• 34:30
Speaker 4: Why can't you let me do this one song here perfectly?
• 34:33
Speaker 4: I was like, I don't even know what you're talking about. Yeah,
• 34:37
  Speaker 4: I don't even know you.
• 34:38
Speaker 1: You have no idea. How often, I'm sure, not just
• 34:40
Speaker 1: with me, but with all the entire staff, How often
• 34:42
Speaker 1: you were used as bad cop. Yeah, Chris, you know,
• 34:48
Speaker 1: I just showed it to Krista and she just didn't
• 34:50
Speaker 1: like it, and she didn't get it, or she didn't
• 34:52
Speaker 1: like it. She didn't get it. She she hated it.
• 34:54
Speaker 3: And then everybody would drop it right then and there,
• 34:56
Speaker 3: and it'd be like, oh, okay, all.
• 34:58
Speaker 1: Right, yeah, well how can you you know Chris didn't
• 35:01
Speaker 1: like it? He did that. He did that all the time.
• 35:06
Speaker 1: Another funny Bill thing the technique that I've since stolen
• 35:09
Speaker 1: a couple of one for you aspiring directors out there.
• 35:13
Speaker 1: It's considered bad form for a director to tell an
• 35:17
Speaker 1: actor how to say a line. It's called giving them
• 35:20
Speaker 1: a line reading. And and you're supposed to use your
• 35:24
Speaker 1: skills and your communication and your articulation to get to
• 35:27
Speaker 1: steer them to say the line the way you want
• 35:29
Speaker 1: to say it. But sometimes they're just not doing it
• 35:32
Speaker 1: the way you envisioned or the writer envisioned. And this
• 35:34
Speaker 1: can be frustrating. And Bill had a way around it
• 35:37
Speaker 1: where he would go, he'd go, you know, he would say,
• 35:41
Speaker 1: let's say a guest star all makeup named Tim. He'd go, Tim,
• 35:45
Speaker 1: you know, at the table read you did it so funny.
• 35:48
Speaker 1: You have me laughing so hard. You did it just
• 35:50
Speaker 1: like this. You were like, we got to get out
• 35:52
Speaker 1: of here and whatever. And the guy, the actor would
• 35:55
Speaker 1: be like, I did that? Is that is funny? I
• 35:57
Speaker 1: did it like that. He'd be like, yeah, that's what
• 35:59
Speaker 1: you did at the table reading was hilarious and the
• 36:02
Speaker 1: actor's ego is all glowing and like, Okay, I'll do
• 36:04
Speaker 1: it just like that, And the actor had never done
• 36:07
Speaker 1: it like that. Bill totally made that ship up right, Christa, Oh,
• 36:12
  Speaker 1: he does it.
• 36:12
  Speaker 2: All the time.
• 36:13
Speaker 4: But I also love that that we all got because
• 36:16
Speaker 4: when we and wheneveryone started on Scrubs, you'd be like,
• 36:20
Speaker 4: I don't you can't get be line readings.
• 36:22
Speaker 2: That's not what you're supposed to do.
• 36:24
Speaker 4: And then by season three everyone's like, Bill, just tell
• 36:29
  Speaker 4: me how.
• 36:29
Speaker 3: You want to How do you want me to say it? Dude,
• 36:33
Speaker 3: I'll tell you yeah.
• 36:34
Speaker 1: I love it. As the director, I love it when
• 36:36
Speaker 1: people do that because you're like, you're just trying to
• 36:38
Speaker 1: be so tactful, and if someone's just like, just tell
• 36:39
Speaker 1: me you want to say, like, oh my god, another
• 36:42
Speaker 1: trick tick Bill would do in the same vein would
• 36:44
Speaker 1: go he got in his head that if you didn't
• 36:47
Speaker 1: say words, it wasn't technically giving a line reading. So
• 36:50
Speaker 1: if it was like if the line was like we
• 36:51
Speaker 1: gotta get out of here and he wanted it like that,
• 36:53
Speaker 1: he'd be like, you know, could you do it? Like yeah,
• 36:58
Speaker 1: We're like, well, you're just giving a line reading with
• 36:59
  Speaker 1: noise is now?
• 37:02
Speaker 2: You know? Like that? I remember also Bill gets so mad.
• 37:07
Speaker 4: Well, he got the most man over the first time
• 37:10
Speaker 4: that Zach directed. It was the first time Zach directed,
• 37:13
Speaker 4: and I came home like the third day and I said, Bill,
• 37:15
Speaker 4: Oh my god. With Zach directing, it's like being on
• 37:19
Speaker 4: a movie set. Yeah, he's so good, and it's training
• 37:23
Speaker 4: as a as a you know, as an actor and
• 37:27
Speaker 4: direct His direction is so incredible.
• 37:30
  Speaker 2: It's so amazing.
• 37:31
Speaker 4: And he's like, really is it is it like being
• 37:34
Speaker 4: on a movie set when Jack is there.
• 37:36
Speaker 1: You have to understand that Bill and I my relationship
• 37:39
Speaker 1: was so big brother little brother. And whenever Christa I mean,
• 37:43
Speaker 1: I mean the compliments were genuine, I think and thank you.
• 37:46
Speaker 1: But whenever Christa would compliment me in front of Bill,
• 37:49
Speaker 1: I would be like, oh god, this is it was
• 37:50
Speaker 1: just like JD and Cox. I'd be like, oh, God,
• 37:52
Speaker 1: this is not going to be good for me. You really,
• 37:55
Speaker 1: you really need to stop complimenting me. It's in front
• 37:57
Speaker 1: of him, please, because something was gonna happened to me.
• 38:02
Speaker 4: You know. It's funny though, I will say this, because
• 38:04
Speaker 4: Bill showed me everyone's audition tapes for Scrubs, and with
• 38:10
Speaker 4: every single one of you, I was like, oh, well
• 38:12
Speaker 4: that's the person. That's the person that has to do it.
• 38:15
Speaker 4: And I remember the whole Bill's the rest of the
• 38:19
Speaker 4: time was finessing and that's what he's so good at
• 38:22
Speaker 4: to make sure that he got to pick. And there
• 38:26
Speaker 4: was a whole math equation of how to do it,
• 38:28
Speaker 4: of like I'm going to bring in these other two people,
• 38:32
Speaker 4: you know, because I really want Donald or Zach or
• 38:36
Speaker 4: with everyone and it was but you.
• 38:38
Speaker 1: Guys, well, if you don't know getting your choice, even
• 38:41
Speaker 1: if you're the showrunner of the show through to a network,
• 38:45
Speaker 1: there's a strategy to it. You can't just go in
• 38:47
Speaker 1: and say I want Donald Faison and Zach braf thanks, guys,
• 38:50
Speaker 1: because and Bill is very good at that. He's like, well,
• 38:53
Speaker 1: if I want Zach and Donald, I have to say this.
• 38:56
Speaker 1: I have to act like this. I can't be too
• 38:58
  Speaker 1: excited about you know, it's a whole Yeah, there's a
• 39:01
Speaker 1: whole strategy to it. I've experienced it and as a
• 39:04
Speaker 1: director and not gotten the person I thought was clearly
• 39:06
Speaker 1: the best. But then you've got to go shoot the pilot,
• 39:09
Speaker 1: and you're shooting the pilot with someone you think is
• 39:11
Speaker 1: good and talented, but not necessarily as good as the
• 39:15
Speaker 1: other person. And it's you know, you only you don't
• 39:17
Speaker 1: always get who you want, you know. And and Bill
• 39:19
Speaker 1: was a really skill that at knowing the strategy, like, oh,
• 39:22
Speaker 1: if I I'm gonna get you know, he gave us
• 39:24
Speaker 1: a couple extra jokes, and he would, you know, when
• 39:26
Speaker 1: we came in the room. You know, it's so intimidating.
• 39:29
Speaker 1: He would make all these jokes to make everyone already
• 39:31
Speaker 1: start laughing. So by the time he's like a warm
• 39:33
Speaker 1: up comic. By the time time for your audition, they're
• 39:35
Speaker 1: already giggling. You know.
• 39:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 39:37
Speaker 4: But it's also interesting because sometimes on a pilot, I
• 39:40
Speaker 4: remember with scrubs, sometimes in a pilot you'd go on
• 39:43
Speaker 4: this part, I'll give in, I'll let them choose, or
• 39:47
Speaker 4: you give in on that so you can have the
• 39:49
Speaker 4: other people that you like and on Scrubs. Bill wasn't
• 39:52
Speaker 4: willing to budge on anyone, you know, he really knew
• 39:55
Speaker 4: who he wanted, and so he had to do that
• 39:58
Speaker 4: with all of you guys. But it is It is
• 40:00
Speaker 4: also a good lesson in casting or if you're up
• 40:04
Speaker 4: for a role. You guys right at the beginning, because
• 40:06
Speaker 4: I saw the producer sessions, you know, so I wasn't
• 40:10
Speaker 4: even watching to the network tests, which where you guys
• 40:13
Speaker 4: were really on a roll by then. It was so
• 40:16
Speaker 4: clear that all of you should have those parts, you know,
• 40:21
  Speaker 4: and it's.
• 40:22
Speaker 3: Just wanted it. So I remember wanting it so bad.
• 40:25
Speaker 3: I wanted it so bad. It was like, and I've
• 40:28
Speaker 3: said the story before. I went up against my friends
• 40:30
Speaker 3: that day and some friends of mine, and I remember
• 40:35
Speaker 3: I remember being like, they don't want it as bad
• 40:36
Speaker 3: as I do, Dude, nobody wants it as bad.
• 40:39
Speaker 2: So what was your story? Have you talked about?
• 40:41
  Speaker 8: Like?
• 40:41
  Speaker 5: Did you?
• 40:41
  Speaker 6: Yeah?
• 40:41
Speaker 3: Absolutely, we talked about. We've told it before.
• 40:45
Speaker 6: But so what happened?
• 40:47
Speaker 2: You read the script? Can you tell me quickly?
• 40:49
Speaker 3: Yeah? I hadn't read the script. I just auditioned for.
• 40:53
Speaker 3: It's me. I just had auditioned for. I remember auditioning
• 40:57
Speaker 3: for Bill and Danny Rose. That's what I really for
• 41:01
Speaker 3: some reason, Danny Rose was in the room. Yeah, and
• 41:06
Speaker 3: I remember Bill laughing at everything, and so my confidence
• 41:10
Speaker 3: was through the roof. And he was like, all right,
• 41:12
  Speaker 3: let's meet again.
• 41:13
  Speaker 6: You know.
• 41:13
Speaker 3: My agents were like, you got a call back for it,
• 41:15
Speaker 3: and I went in the callback and it was Bill
• 41:18
Speaker 3: once again, and he was like, so, I'm gonna bring
• 41:21
Speaker 3: you in front of the network and everything. You're going
• 41:25
Speaker 3: to test for this, but I just wanted to rehearse
• 41:27
Speaker 3: this with you, so you had so you were ready
• 41:30
Speaker 3: to go when we go into the audition. And I did,
• 41:35
Speaker 3: and we rehearsed it and I went in on the
• 41:37
Speaker 3: audition and I blew the audition and never in my
• 41:40
Speaker 3: life has anybody ever come up to me, like within
• 41:44
Speaker 3: the half hour that were all there testing after everybody
• 41:47
Speaker 3: went in, I never had anyone come up to me.
• 41:49
Speaker 3: After he called me out in front of everybody, like Donald,
• 41:52
Speaker 3: come on, come here, let me talk to you. And
• 41:54
Speaker 3: I remember all of them making faces like, oh shit,
• 41:58
Speaker 3: I guess he got the part. But I was thinking, thinking,
• 42:00
Speaker 3: oh shit, I'm the first one going home. And he
• 42:03
Speaker 3: takes me into the hallway and he says, uh, you
• 42:06
  Speaker 3: blew the audition.
• 42:07
Speaker 1: You know you fucked up the audition, right, you do
• 42:11
Speaker 1: know you fucked up right?
• 42:12
Speaker 3: Right? It was it was sincerely, it was clearly. It
• 42:14
Speaker 3: was just like Bill Duke in Minister Society when he's
• 42:18
Speaker 3: talking to a dude at the police station. See, now
• 42:20
Speaker 3: you know you're note fucked up now, right, And I said,
• 42:23
Speaker 3: I said I did, And he said, yeah, you know,
• 42:25
Speaker 3: you were very big and very you know, I needed
• 42:28
Speaker 3: to come in there and do it like you've been
• 42:31
Speaker 3: doing it before. All of the stuff that you talked about, Zach,
• 42:34
Speaker 3: you know you did it at the table read you
• 42:35
Speaker 3: know you did it at the rehearsal this way. Yeah,
• 42:37
Speaker 3: you know what I mean, everything that you guys just talked.
• 42:40
Speaker 1: About, but you actually had in this instance, he had
• 42:43
Speaker 1: he had made you progress so far because you were
• 42:46
Speaker 1: doing what he loved. And when Bill told this story,
• 42:49
Speaker 1: he said, you know, he gave you some bit of
• 42:51
Speaker 1: direction and you were nervous and it made you go
• 42:53
Speaker 1: just to volume eleven and he was like, bro, bro,
• 42:56
Speaker 1: bring it down, bring it down there.
• 42:57
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you know when somebody says, make sure you're
• 42:59
Speaker 3: talking to the back of the room when you're doing
• 43:01
Speaker 3: your stuff, don't tell me that. Don't tell me that, man.
• 43:06
Speaker 1: Johnny Donny had a similar tale.
• 43:09
Speaker 4: Wait wait so with Donald, So then you went in
• 43:11
Speaker 4: and did you kill it?
• 43:14
  Speaker 3: I don't know if I killed it, but I definitely
• 43:16
Speaker 3: got the part. I'll tell you that. Like I know
• 43:18
Speaker 3: that Bill, whatever they were thinking about me, Bill convinced
• 43:22
Speaker 3: them that I was the right person for the part,
• 43:24
Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And I know that because
• 43:26
Speaker 3: after the audition, you know, the call came in and
• 43:29
Speaker 3: I got it. But I remember leaving and not necessarily
• 43:32
Speaker 3: feeling like I got the part, even though they sent
• 43:34
Speaker 3: everybody home and Sarah and I and this other dude
• 43:37
Speaker 3: were there, uh you know we you know, Sarah said
• 43:42
Speaker 3: something like, well, I guess we all got the I
• 43:43
Speaker 3: guess we got the part. In my heart, I was like,
• 43:45
Speaker 3: I didn't get the part, dude, I kind of fucked up.
• 43:47
Speaker 3: And he told me I fucked up, you know what
• 43:49
Speaker 3: I mean. And then when I got when my agent
• 43:52
Speaker 3: called and told me that I got the part, that's
• 43:54
Speaker 3: when I was like, oh shit, he somehow made this happen.
• 43:58
Speaker 3: Like if he wants it to happen for you, he's
• 44:00
Speaker 3: going to make it happen. And he's done it several
• 44:02
Speaker 3: times before. You know, there's times where you know, I've
• 44:05
Speaker 3: I've done pilots with Bill, like I was. I did
• 44:08
Speaker 3: the pilot for Undtable, you know what I mean. He
• 44:10
Speaker 3: was like, Donald, come in, there's a role. I want
• 44:13
Speaker 3: you to do it. The network doesn't NBC doesn't know
• 44:16
Speaker 3: that you're coming in. You come in and you just
• 44:18
Speaker 3: read with Crystalia and I was like, all right, Bet
• 44:22
Speaker 3: and I did it. They were like, we can't have
• 44:23
Speaker 3: Donald Faison, who was just on your last show in
• 44:27
Speaker 3: your next show. Dude, that's impossible. We can't do that.
• 44:29
Speaker 3: But you know, it was great to see him. And
• 44:32
Speaker 3: then you know, he did another pilot call spaced Out,
• 44:36
Speaker 3: and at the time I wasn't working, and he was like, Donald,
• 44:39
Speaker 3: I got a role for you, then why don't you
• 44:41
Speaker 3: come in, you know, play this role on spaced Out.
• 44:43
Speaker 3: So like when he and I didn't have to test.
• 44:46
Speaker 3: I didn't have to do anything for that one. And
• 44:48
Speaker 3: this was this was one of the stars of the show.
• 44:50
Speaker 3: And so when Bill wants it to happen, if he
• 44:53
Speaker 3: if he wants you to be in something, he's going
• 44:55
Speaker 3: to do everything that he can to get you into that.
• 44:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, to get you into a series. I think it's
• 45:00
Speaker 1: safe to say that he's a big fan of Donald Faison.
• 45:03
  Speaker 3: I agree. I agree.
• 45:04
Speaker 2: He loves all you guys.
• 45:04
Speaker 4: I mean, I think all you guys are going to
• 45:06
Speaker 4: be having to work with Bill for the rest of
• 45:09
  Speaker 4: your lives.
• 45:10
Speaker 1: Well, I love it.
• 45:10
  Speaker 6: You know.
• 45:10
Speaker 1: I went and directed his new show that he's doing
• 45:13
Speaker 1: with Jason Sedakis when I was in London, and I
• 45:17
Speaker 1: had an amazing time with working with him. I missed it.
• 45:20
Speaker 1: We fell back into this groove of just sitting next
• 45:24
Speaker 1: to the monitors and pitching jokes and coming up with
• 45:26
Speaker 1: cool stuff. And I really, I really love collaborating with
• 45:30
  Speaker 1: him so much.
• 45:31
Speaker 3: All right, let's get into that episode.
• 45:32
  Speaker 6: I know.
• 45:32
Speaker 1: But now you took us down in nostalgia Lane and
• 45:34
Speaker 1: I'm feeling all like like like my heart is.
• 45:37
Speaker 3: We've been talking for forty nine minutes, and we know
• 45:39
  Speaker 3: that we.
• 45:39
Speaker 1: Have a legendary Christa Miller. Bro chill up.
• 45:42
Speaker 3: Like I said, we could talk for days about a
• 45:44
  Speaker 3: lot of.
• 45:45
Speaker 1: People on my Instagram, right, Zach stops saying that we
• 45:49
Speaker 1: that you're going too long. We love it, and that's
• 45:52
Speaker 1: that's fine. I just there might be other people who
• 45:54
Speaker 1: are like bro, my run is an hour and a half.
• 45:57
Speaker 1: Keep it to an hour and a half.
• 45:59
Speaker 3: Somebody, you know, somebody told me that I told you this,
• 46:01
Speaker 3: that they didn't like me doing an Oprah voice.
• 46:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, but I told you that. To me, that's like
• 46:06
Speaker 1: someone saying they don't like you know, Caddie Shack, Like,
• 46:10
Speaker 1: shut the fuck up.
• 46:11
  Speaker 2: It's Jesus, thank you, We've.
• 46:15
Speaker 1: Got I was hoping Krystal would get her her Oprah voice.
• 46:21
Speaker 1: All right, all right, so we start the episode with, uh,
• 46:24
Speaker 1: now A JD and Elliot are friends again. That was
• 46:27
Speaker 1: a pretty quick bout of a couple not talking to
• 46:30
Speaker 1: each other, right, they're just back into like being BFFs again.
• 46:34
Speaker 3: Well, I think after what happened in the episode where
• 46:36
Speaker 3: your teacher died, things changed. We're two episodes at and
• 46:41
Speaker 3: after that, aren't we.
• 46:43
  Speaker 1: I don't know. I was just I had this first
• 46:45
Speaker 1: reaction after introducing the hat number one hey number two guy,
• 46:49
Speaker 1: that like, wow, we're just bantering like we're all buddies.
• 46:51
Speaker 1: There's no there's no awkward, awkward blood between us.
• 46:54
Speaker 3: Now. I remember the number one hat number two guy.
• 46:56
Speaker 3: Do you remember his name? Because we hung out with
• 46:59
Speaker 3: that guy after work one night, just just you, me
• 47:03
  Speaker 3: and him.
• 47:03
Speaker 1: I looked it up. We did.
• 47:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, remember, I don't remember, and I remember that was
• 47:07
Speaker 3: the first I remember that was one of the first
• 47:09
Speaker 3: people that guest starred on the show that we hung
• 47:12
  Speaker 3: out with.
• 47:13
  Speaker 1: His name is I don't know. I hope I'm pronouncing
• 47:15
  Speaker 1: it right. Eric sit s A I E. T. And
• 47:20
Speaker 1: he did a fantastic job, by the way, with a
• 47:22
Speaker 1: tricky part. I think you know it's It's can be
• 47:24
Speaker 1: very cringey if someone is playing a handicapped person and
• 47:28
Speaker 1: doing it in an awkward or disrespectful way. I remember
• 47:32
Speaker 1: thinking at the time, this is tricky. You want to
• 47:35
Speaker 1: do justice to someone who's mentally handicapped. But also this
• 47:38
Speaker 1: guy has jokes and uh. And I remember thinking, even
• 47:42
Speaker 1: at the time and even watching it now, that he
• 47:44
Speaker 1: did a really really good job.
• 47:45
  Speaker 3: Anythink, yeah, yeah.
• 47:47
Speaker 2: Do you know what that story is from now?
• 47:49
Speaker 1: I do remember that it was some some real life story.
• 47:52
Speaker 2: Do you remember, Yeah, yeah, I do.
• 47:53
Speaker 1: So don't sit too far away from your mic, though, Darling.
• 47:56
  Speaker 2: Sorry sorry.
• 47:57
Speaker 4: Bill was married before and his when he went to
• 48:05
  Speaker 4: meet his.
• 48:07
  Speaker 2: New wife's family.
• 48:09
Speaker 4: His new wife had an older brother who had special needs,
• 48:14
Speaker 4: and his name was Bill and he was so bummed
• 48:18
Speaker 4: that Bill was coming in and that there were two bills.
• 48:22
Speaker 5: He didn't want to talk to Bill. It was the
• 48:23
  Speaker 5: whole thing.
• 48:24
Speaker 4: And Bill said to him, how about you'll be Bill
• 48:27
Speaker 4: number one because you're the main, and I'll just be
• 48:29
Speaker 4: Bill number two. And Bill said, which was great. He
• 48:32
Speaker 4: thought he was the hero. Was fabulous.
• 48:34
  Speaker 5: He goes.
• 48:34
Speaker 4: But then from then on, every eight seconds, Hey number one,
• 48:41
Speaker 4: and Bill would hey, Hey number two.
• 48:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, eventually it's like.
• 48:45
Speaker 5: Number Hey number two. But it's so sweet.
• 48:49
Speaker 4: I don't know how you get but at the end
• 48:50
Speaker 4: when you make up with him, it's so sweet.
• 48:53
Speaker 1: When you go in, it's very sweet. And and and
• 48:56
  Speaker 1: again I think he did a I would be I
• 48:59
Speaker 1: would want to do that part because I were, I
• 49:01
Speaker 1: would just be in my head that I wouldn't do
• 49:03
Speaker 1: a justice. And I thought that Eric. Eric did a
• 49:05
Speaker 1: great job at fifty eight seconds. A couple things. Not
• 49:09
Speaker 1: only is there another janitor which you've in the background, which.
• 49:12
Speaker 6: You very saw that.
• 49:13
  Speaker 3: I saw that.
• 49:14
Speaker 1: Not only that he's in a different color uniform he's tan, Yeah,
• 49:17
Speaker 1: it's tan. And did you notice that he's sweeping the air?
• 49:21
Speaker 3: I did not notice that.
• 49:22
Speaker 1: Eisode very often for those of you who don't know
• 49:24
Speaker 1: when background performers are doing their thing. They don't want
• 49:26
Speaker 1: them to make any noise, which can be tricky if
• 49:29
Speaker 1: you if you're if you're tasked with sweeping.
• 49:31
Speaker 3: Did you see this or did you get this from
• 49:33
  Speaker 3: scrubs wiki?
• 49:34
Speaker 1: No, I got I got some other good stuff from
• 49:36
Speaker 1: scrubs wiki. But this, dude, if you stop, if everyone
• 49:38
Speaker 1: wants to appreciate this. At fifty eight seconds, this gentleman
• 49:41
Speaker 1: is sweeping the air. Maybe the air was dirty.
• 49:49
  Speaker 3: But I didn't know.
• 49:50
Speaker 1: I didn't know what was going on with that guy.
• 49:51
Speaker 1: He I don't know who put him in bait?
• 49:54
  Speaker 6: Did you?
• 49:54
Speaker 1: We we're if we know one thing, we know that
• 49:56
Speaker 1: the janitorial staff. Where's Gray?
• 49:58
Speaker 3: Gray? I wonder how that happened. I wonder if they
• 50:02
Speaker 3: were like, we don't have we we don't have Neil today,
• 50:04
Speaker 3: and we need somebody in the background sweeping, Like whose
• 50:08
Speaker 3: idea was it? Because Neil's always dressed up as the
• 50:11
Speaker 3: janitor in the show, and.
• 50:13
Speaker 1: You never and you never ever saw I don't remember
• 50:17
Speaker 1: ever seeing janitorial staff in the background that weren't Neil.
• 50:22
Speaker 3: Do you No, I don't know.
• 50:24
  Speaker 1: Maybe I'm wrong.
• 50:25
  Speaker 3: Very interesting that's a scrub that's a Scrubs Wiki question.
• 50:28
Speaker 1: So Christa, we have a new thing now where you know,
• 50:30
Speaker 1: we do the ask Bill thing and Bill will audio
• 50:34
Speaker 1: tape him self answering the question. But now there's a
• 50:37
Speaker 1: guy who runs a Scrubs Wiki fan page that just
• 50:40
Speaker 1: knows every single little bit of Scrubs trivia, and he's
• 50:43
Speaker 1: down with us asking him random trivia questions when we
• 50:46
  Speaker 1: don't know them.
• 50:47
Speaker 3: I wonder if we'll ever get to stump him.
• 50:49
Speaker 1: Oh, we're gonna stop him. That's gonna be one of
• 50:50
  Speaker 1: our tasks.
• 50:51
Speaker 3: I wonder if we'll ye, we should.
• 50:53
Speaker 1: We should think of what the sound effect is going
• 50:54
Speaker 1: to be. There should be like a siren or a bell,
• 50:57
Speaker 1: some sort of prize noise if we stump Scrubs Wiki guy,
• 51:00
Speaker 1: how about then, look Judy gives it one thirteen when
• 51:03
Speaker 1: a guy calls her nurse. Fahda, Yeah, Judy's look is
• 51:11
Speaker 1: so fucking funny. She just does a slow turn like
• 51:14
  Speaker 1: I I.
• 51:17
Speaker 3: Will fucking kill you.
• 51:20
Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, go ahead, go ahead, man who
• 51:23
Speaker 1: run there's a whole runner on this show. I'll kill you.
• 51:25
Speaker 1: By the way, this delay is not that bad. We
• 51:28
Speaker 1: were on the view for this podcast and the delay.
• 51:31
Speaker 1: I worry we fucked up because the delay was like
• 51:34
Speaker 1: a solid second and a half and it's very hard
• 51:36
Speaker 1: to be funny and talk with people when there's a
• 51:39
Speaker 1: serious delay. We have a slight one on the zoom thing.
• 51:42
Speaker 1: But but we Donald and I did our best. But
• 51:44
Speaker 1: we were on the view. Everyone's going, well, no, no, no,
• 51:47
Speaker 1: you go oh sorry, well right, but Donald's mom finally watched.
• 51:51
Speaker 1: She doesn't listen to the podcast, but she doesn't love it.
• 51:53
Speaker 3: She was like, your energy on the view, you guys,
• 51:56
Speaker 3: you guys interview very well. By the way, we.
• 51:58
Speaker 1: Finally got Donald's mom that we finally got surely to
• 52:01
Speaker 1: pay attention to us, and all we have to do
• 52:02
Speaker 1: is go on the view.
• 52:04
  Speaker 3: Yeah, all right.
• 52:07
Speaker 1: What I was gonna say is that there's this sub
• 52:10
Speaker 1: there's this plot of this episode, which I'm sure is
• 52:13
Speaker 1: a very real thing for medical professionals when what happens
• 52:16
Speaker 1: when your patient is a fucking dick and you still
• 52:19
Speaker 1: have to give them the same level of attention and
• 52:23
Speaker 1: affection and uh and and commitment and uh and JD
• 52:27
Speaker 1: and and Carla are both trying to take care of
• 52:31
Speaker 1: this guy. But he's racist and he's a jerk and
• 52:34
Speaker 1: uh and JD is really they're both challenged with how
• 52:37
Speaker 1: do we do our best with a guy who's saying
• 52:38
Speaker 1: shit like nurse Fahda.
• 52:40
  Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a that's a tough one. You know. I
• 52:43
Speaker 3: hate racism, and I hate racists, and I hate bigots,
• 52:45
Speaker 3: and I hate you know, I hate all of that.
• 52:47
Speaker 3: Ship to watch something like this and to still have to,
• 52:52
Speaker 3: like it would suck to go to work and have
• 52:54
Speaker 3: somebody say things to me that made me, that made
• 52:58
Speaker 3: me so angry that I wanted to explode. And I
• 53:03
Speaker 3: imagine for people that work in the hospital, whose jobs
• 53:07
Speaker 3: where all it is, your job is to take care
• 53:10
Speaker 3: of the patient and save lives, and you get that
• 53:14
Speaker 3: one person who is just you know, who's like this
• 53:19
Speaker 3: guy is, how do you how do you commit to
• 53:23
Speaker 3: doing your best at that moment in time for that person.
• 53:26
Speaker 1: I'm sure sometimes you have to. I'm sure sometimes you
• 53:29
Speaker 1: have to bite your fist. My mom used to be
• 53:32
Speaker 1: a the the listen to this, the night nurse, the
• 53:36
Speaker 1: head night nurse on the mental health ward of a
• 53:42
Speaker 1: VA hospital in East Orange, New Jersey. Wow, and she
• 53:46
Speaker 1: had the most insane stories. Now, granted, these these these
• 53:50
Speaker 1: these men and women are are are very mentally ill,
• 53:54
Speaker 1: some of them, and and and it was always her
• 53:56
Speaker 1: job to not take it personally and to take it
• 53:59
Speaker 1: to you breath, and to give them the best care
• 54:02
Speaker 1: that she could. And my mom was an incredible, incredible nurse.
• 54:05
Speaker 1: But this story made me think of that that you
• 54:07
Speaker 1: can imagine some of the treatments she had to endure,
• 54:12
Speaker 1: and and and she had to always suck it up
• 54:15
Speaker 1: and let it just wash off her back. Right, But
• 54:18
Speaker 1: you're going to get.
• 54:19
Speaker 4: Extra good attention if you're lovely as a patient.
• 54:24
Speaker 3: I would imagine, Yes, absolutely you are.
• 54:29
Speaker 4: I mean my father was a surgeon, so I know,
• 54:30
Speaker 4: but I mean, you just are going to get that
• 54:32
Speaker 4: extra attention. Why people aren't savvy enough.
• 54:38
Speaker 1: My father was. When my father was dying, he was
• 54:40
Speaker 1: in the hospital and he used every technique. Guy. I mean,
• 54:43
Speaker 1: he he was the most you guys know he's he
• 54:45
Speaker 1: was the loveliest, most charming guy. But he was also
• 54:47
Speaker 1: the biggest Scrubs fan in the world. So anyone who
• 54:49
Speaker 1: came in, whether it was the janitor cleaning the garbage,
• 54:51
Speaker 1: can and be like, hey, my son, Zach Brath Scrubs,
• 54:57
Speaker 1: I must have signed a Scrubs headshot for every single
• 54:59
Speaker 1: person in the New Jersey healthcare system.
• 55:02
Speaker 4: Oh, Bill drops scrubs pretty much instantaneously, you know, on
• 55:07
Speaker 4: doing anything. You just had to get a root canal thing,
• 55:10
Speaker 4: he was talking about scrubs.
• 55:13
Speaker 3: I use it all the time, like I use it all.
• 55:16
Speaker 3: I use it all the time whenever we have like
• 55:18
Speaker 3: where we take our kids into you know, urgent care
• 55:21
Speaker 3: or something like that, or the kids. PETERA Trisian does
• 55:24
Speaker 3: a lot of golf tournaments and stuff like that for charity.
• 55:27
Speaker 3: And I'm always using my scrubs, uh, just to and
• 55:33
Speaker 3: and and playing golf obviously too.
• 55:34
Speaker 1: But I love it that you're like you started he started.
• 55:39
Speaker 1: He started out to make sure his kids got good healthcare,
• 55:43
Speaker 1: and then it became to play golf with fans golfers.
• 55:46
Speaker 3: Well there's that, there's that too, But for for sure, man, like,
• 55:51
Speaker 3: I just know, I just know that, you know, you,
• 55:55
Speaker 3: especially in that professional, treat somebody like you want to
• 55:57
Speaker 3: be treated. It's like the same thing when you go
• 55:59
Speaker 3: to a restaurant, right, what asshole sits there and says,
• 56:02
Speaker 3: you know what, I'm gonna treat this waiter like shit
• 56:05
Speaker 3: and doesn't expect their food to get fucking spit on
• 56:07
  Speaker 3: or something.
• 56:09
  Speaker 1: I was a waiter and I and I never understood
• 56:14
Speaker 1: the people that were assholes, because there are plenty of
• 56:17
Speaker 1: people that would fuck with your ship and do not.
• 56:21
Speaker 3: It's like, when I leave this area, I'm gonna go
• 56:25
Speaker 3: and tell all these people what a dick you are.
• 56:28
Speaker 3: So when watching this show and this guy saying all
• 56:32
Speaker 3: these things, I'm like, this dude wants to die. He
• 56:34
Speaker 3: must want to die or there's no way that you
• 56:38
Speaker 3: could be that insensitive. Go get me my fucking thing.
• 56:42
Speaker 3: Go do this for me. Shut the fuck up you.
• 56:44
Speaker 3: I don't understand how you do it.
• 56:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, Nurse Fahida, I mean, come on, nurse, come on,
• 56:48
Speaker 1: you're gonna get punched. Yeah, listen. How about Kelly Williams
• 56:52
Speaker 1: as Kristin Murphy sucking on her finger in a in
• 56:56
Speaker 1: a manner similar to fillatio in order to lure Johnny
• 57:01
Speaker 1: c over to her house.
• 57:03
  Speaker 4: But I was watching, I gotta say I don't like
• 57:05
Speaker 4: being I wouldn't want someone sucking their finger and then
• 57:09
  Speaker 4: touching my face.
• 57:15
  Speaker 3: Yuck.
• 57:16
Speaker 1: That didn't work. To turn you on, Crystal.
• 57:20
Speaker 2: To smell like spit, you can smell like it.
• 57:25
Speaker 1: You know what's crazy is that. There's no way that
• 57:27
Speaker 1: was written. So I'm just trying to figure out how
• 57:28
Speaker 1: that came about, Like did Kelly, she must have improved that.
• 57:32
Speaker 1: There's no way it's said in the script. And then
• 57:35
Speaker 1: she sucks her pointer finger as a in a seductive
• 57:39
Speaker 1: manner and touches his nose. I really want to know
• 57:44
Speaker 1: how that came about.
• 57:47
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 57:48
Speaker 1: Really resists that woman. She she comes on so strong.
• 57:53
Speaker 3: It says a lot of that's what she said, jokes
• 57:55
  Speaker 3: and everything. It's like it's like a It's like a
• 57:57
Speaker 3: single man's wet dream right there, dude, right she's giving
• 58:01
Speaker 3: you all of this energy. And he wants to go
• 58:04
Speaker 3: lift a dresser with Carla.
• 58:07
Speaker 1: By the way, I had totally forgotten I know he's
• 58:09
Speaker 1: talking about this. I am totally forgotten how fucking obsessed
• 58:12
Speaker 1: he is with Carla, and this episode like brought it
• 58:15
Speaker 1: to a new level. He's got this beautiful woman sucking
• 58:18
Speaker 1: on her finger telling him that she's coming over, and
• 58:22
  Speaker 1: and and and.
• 58:22
Speaker 3: She said, she said to him, she said to him,
• 58:26
Speaker 3: you're gonna be He said, he said, you gotta slow down,
• 58:30
Speaker 3: And she said to him, you're gonna be saying that
• 58:32
Speaker 3: tonight dude, dude, just.
• 58:37
Speaker 2: Pause for a second.
• 58:37
Speaker 4: Does any did anyone notice how adorable I look in
• 58:40
Speaker 4: this episode of Getting She doesn't, He doesn't.
• 58:45
Speaker 5: He doesn't care about Kelly Williams.
• 58:47
Speaker 1: I loves is Like, guys, yeah, guys, I don't want
• 58:51
Speaker 1: to I don't want to be say the obvious reason.
• 58:55
  Speaker 6: Right right right.
• 58:58
Speaker 1: But Chris, now this is before you come into the picture.
• 59:00
Speaker 4: But he knows that there's a possibility that I'm coming over.
• 59:05
Speaker 3: You texted him earlier like what you're doing?
• 59:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, what you're doing?
• 59:08
  Speaker 3: You get off?
• 59:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, he is finish car show, let's go what's so?
• 59:17
Speaker 1: But he so pee whipped that he's gonna help Judy
• 59:21
Speaker 1: Carla move a dresser and uh and in his Porsche
• 59:24
Speaker 1: by the way, which is not a very good card
• 59:26
Speaker 1: for moving a dresser. They're gonna strap it to the roof.
• 59:28
Speaker 1: Who would ever strap up dresser of the roof of
• 59:30
  Speaker 1: their port.
• 59:32
Speaker 3: But somebody who's desperate for that for that Uh anyway.
• 59:37
Speaker 1: Go on, Yeah, all right, our guest is here. We're
• 59:41
Speaker 1: so behind. We we're three minutes in and our guest
• 59:43
Speaker 1: is here. So we're do a break and then we're
• 59:46
Speaker 1: gonna come back with more fun.
• 59:48
  Speaker 3: Uh.
• 59:48
Speaker 1: And we're gonna hear Chris to talk about how she
• 59:52
Speaker 1: seduces men, including Johnny mcley and Bill Lawrence. You're right back,
• 1:00:03
  Speaker 1: We're bud there.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 3: What's that man? How you doing? How do you say
• 1:00:07
  Speaker 3: your name?
• 1:00:08
Speaker 6: Oh? It's just Austin.
• 1:00:09
Speaker 3: It's awesome. It said something different on your screen five
• 1:00:11
  Speaker 3: seconds ago.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 6: Dude. Yeah, that's that's because I usually use him to
• 1:00:15
  Speaker 6: play D and D, so it's my dn D name.
• 1:00:17
Speaker 1: Oh is becoming a running theme on this podcast for
• 1:00:22
Speaker 1: Drag and Donald. You're not going to go off on
• 1:00:24
Speaker 1: some crazy long dice tanging.
• 1:00:26
Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no no, all.
• 1:00:28
Speaker 1: Right, will Joell? Don't you steal Donald's Oprah voice? But
• 1:00:31
Speaker 1: introduce Austin to us.
• 1:00:33
Speaker 7: Hey, guys, we've got Austin in the house.
• 1:00:35
  Speaker 8: Big fan.
• 1:00:36
  Speaker 5: Austin.
• 1:00:37
Speaker 7: You want to tell the guys a little bit about
• 1:00:39
Speaker 7: why you're a fan of Scrubs.
• 1:00:41
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 1:00:41
Speaker 6: Sure, So I got into Scrubs when I was a kid.
• 1:00:44
Speaker 6: I'm only like twenty nine and I was only twenty nine.
• 1:00:50
Speaker 1: I don't think you're allowed to say twenty nine and
• 1:00:52
Speaker 1: only in the same set. I think only is sort
• 1:00:56
Speaker 1: of done at twenty. Yeah, I'm only forty five, and
• 1:01:02
  Speaker 1: I'm just uh.
• 1:01:06
Speaker 6: Sorry, no, no, it's super chill. But my mom was
• 1:01:10
Speaker 6: a big fan of the show. My mom was into
• 1:01:12
Speaker 6: a bunch of the doctor shows. I just watched it
• 1:01:14
Speaker 6: all the time with my mom and I got really
• 1:01:18
Speaker 6: into it, kept watching it forever.
• 1:01:20
Speaker 3: That's well great, Wait, you got your headset on you
• 1:01:23
  Speaker 3: a gamer?
• 1:01:23
  Speaker 5: Two?
• 1:01:24
Speaker 6: I am. I'm a gamer and I like stream and junk.
• 1:01:27
Speaker 3: So I got these like big, big big, they are big.
• 1:01:31
Speaker 1: And what do you play? What do you what do
• 1:01:33
Speaker 1: you stream and or play the most? Because Donald's a
• 1:01:35
Speaker 1: gamer and uh or e c us TV before we
• 1:01:38
  Speaker 1: had some.
• 1:01:39
Speaker 3: Kids, so many kids deal with kids.
• 1:01:42
Speaker 1: But what do you play? Donald will probably know what
• 1:01:43
  Speaker 1: it is.
• 1:01:45
Speaker 6: Uh the game? So I mean right now when I
• 1:01:47
Speaker 6: play the most of.
• 1:01:48
Speaker 1: The Okay, I don't know anything about animal crossing. Christy,
• 1:01:52
Speaker 1: your kids probably playing crossing.
• 1:01:53
Speaker 2: I don't know from video games.
• 1:01:55
Speaker 1: Okay, but what can you Donald? Do you know animal crossing?
• 1:01:59
Speaker 3: I have no idea?
• 1:01:59
Speaker 1: What often can you tell us what? What the basic
• 1:02:01
Speaker 1: idea of animal crossing is?
• 1:02:03
Speaker 6: Yeah, so the basic gave of animal crossing is you're
• 1:02:06
Speaker 6: a human and you have a bunch of antipromofic animal friends,
• 1:02:10
Speaker 6: and you all live on this this game. It's an island.
• 1:02:13
Speaker 6: Sometimes it's a town. They tsk you the human of
• 1:02:16
Speaker 6: like making the town nice, and that's kind of it.
• 1:02:21
Speaker 6: You just you design this like town to look how
• 1:02:23
Speaker 6: you want, and you just like invite friends.
• 1:02:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like it's like the Sims. But you can invite,
• 1:02:31
Speaker 1: can't You go visit people and really talk to strangers.
• 1:02:34
Speaker 6: You can if you want to. You can invite friends over.
• 1:02:37
Speaker 6: You can go to the other people's eyelands. It's it's
• 1:02:39
Speaker 6: really like it's a lot like the Sims, but like,
• 1:02:41
Speaker 6: if you wanted to let like a six year old
• 1:02:43
Speaker 6: play the Sims unsupervised, like animal crossing is a pretty
• 1:02:47
Speaker 6: safe bet. They can't get into too much like weirdness.
• 1:02:51
Speaker 1: Yeah. I remember when my sim died. I got really upset.
• 1:02:55
Speaker 6: You don't an animal crossing things?
• 1:02:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, see, you can kill your sim. I don't know
• 1:02:59
Speaker 1: if you guys have killed a Sim.
• 1:03:01
Speaker 3: I've never killed. I've never killed. Did they build the
• 1:03:03
Speaker 3: graveyard in the backyard. That's what the graveyards are for.
• 1:03:05
Speaker 3: That's what the graveyards are.
• 1:03:07
Speaker 1: Joel, you're smiling. Have you ever killed a sim?
• 1:03:09
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 1:03:09
Speaker 7: Actually, instead of getting Animal Crossings. My brothers and I
• 1:03:11
Speaker 7: have been obsessively playing SIMS four and he built a
• 1:03:14
Speaker 7: basement that they could not get out of.
• 1:03:19
Speaker 1: The great sad I thought. I was I was shocked.
• 1:03:25
Speaker 1: I was like, you can kill a sim. Yeah, you
• 1:03:27
Speaker 1: can kill your sim. Don't walk him in the basement.
• 1:03:30
Speaker 3: Austin, where you where are you call it from? Man?
• 1:03:32
Speaker 6: I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
• 1:03:34
Speaker 3: Oh, Michigan, in the house.
• 1:03:36
Speaker 1: Right on, Austin, Do you have a question for the
• 1:03:38
Speaker 1: legendary Donald Faison or Krista Miller or Zach or you
• 1:03:42
Speaker 1: can ask me to.
• 1:03:43
Speaker 6: I do have a question for Zach and Donald. I
• 1:03:47
Speaker 6: was just curious, like what y'all missed the most about
• 1:03:51
Speaker 6: not being on scripts anymore, Like not being on a
• 1:03:54
Speaker 6: project together. That's like in person filming all the time.
• 1:03:57
Speaker 1: This what you're hearing, Austin. It's the easiest question to answer,
• 1:04:01
Speaker 1: and it's this. It's like if you just you weren't
• 1:04:03
Speaker 1: on before, but just sitting around with Christa and Donald
• 1:04:06
Speaker 1: and cracking up, that's what we would do every day,
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: and just so happened that we'd also be making a
• 1:04:11
Speaker 1: TV show, But we were just like it was our
• 1:04:13
Speaker 1: group of friends. Not just the cast, but the crew
• 1:04:17
Speaker 1: and the writers, and I don't know they'll ever be
• 1:04:20
Speaker 1: lucky enough to have a job where the assignment is
• 1:04:23
Speaker 1: to go and laugh your ass off all day. Yeah,
• 1:04:26
Speaker 1: we really I really missed that. It was like a
• 1:04:28
Speaker 1: natural drug. It was like an all natural drug that
• 1:04:32
Speaker 1: is gone from my life. I mean, just cracking up
• 1:04:35
Speaker 1: five days a week.
• 1:04:36
Speaker 3: And because because we get the opportunity to do this podcast,
• 1:04:40
Speaker 3: we get to relive it all again, you know what
• 1:04:41
Speaker 3: I mean, And it's really awesome. We were before you
• 1:04:44
Speaker 3: came on, Austin. We were talking to Christa about things
• 1:04:47
Speaker 3: that had nothing to do with the show, and we're
• 1:04:49
Speaker 3: just pretty much catching up. Even though I've talked to
• 1:04:52
Speaker 3: We talked to Christa like recently, we're still on you know,
• 1:04:55
Speaker 3: now that we have mics in our face, We're like,
• 1:04:57
  Speaker 3: let's let's just let's talk some more. Let's talk about
• 1:05:00
Speaker 3: some the great times we had.
• 1:05:01
Speaker 1: So don't you miss that, Krista giggling.
• 1:05:04
Speaker 5: I could do this.
• 1:05:07
Speaker 4: Podcasts every day, you.
• 1:05:12
Speaker 5: Guys, I love you.
• 1:05:15
Speaker 1: Christ is the first guest in Fake Doctor's Real Friend's
• 1:05:18
Speaker 1: History that's been was booked.
• 1:05:20
Speaker 3: Twice before she even before once.
• 1:05:22
Speaker 1: She's gonna she and Bill Lawrence are going to be
• 1:05:25
Speaker 1: on the finale of season one together, and I predict mayhem.
• 1:05:30
Speaker 1: I hope that Bill last for a stop hug during
• 1:05:32
  Speaker 1: the show.
• 1:05:33
  Speaker 2: Oh he will.
• 1:05:35
Speaker 5: You know, you know what it was is that Scrubs.
• 1:05:37
  Speaker 4: Also, I don't know if that I worked on a
• 1:05:39
Speaker 4: job before where we were truly friends, yes.
• 1:05:44
  Speaker 5: And truly friends.
• 1:05:46
Speaker 4: You're all in this hospital and and you're not seeing
• 1:05:52
Speaker 4: any other people, so you're in it. You're doing this
• 1:05:55
Speaker 4: funny work, which you know when you're doing it is
• 1:05:58
Speaker 4: really funny, right, and and all the people around are funny.
• 1:06:03
Speaker 4: All the writers were talented, all the actors are talented,
• 1:06:06
Speaker 4: and you could go and be stupid if it didn't
• 1:06:09
Speaker 4: work out, that was fine because everyone was doing it.
• 1:06:12
Speaker 5: And I just felt like my.
• 1:06:15
Speaker 4: Work got so much better every time I would work
• 1:06:18
Speaker 4: on that show because everyone.
• 1:06:19
  Speaker 5: Would elevate you.
• 1:06:20
Speaker 4: You know, there wasn't like the weak link that you
• 1:06:24
Speaker 4: didn't you know, want to be with, and it was
• 1:06:28
Speaker 4: it was such a special time.
• 1:06:31
Speaker 1: We would we would finish the show and then hang
• 1:06:32
Speaker 1: out on weekends, Like, when has that ever happened again?
• 1:06:36
  Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, maybe if you're on location
• 1:06:38
Speaker 1: somewhere with someone. But but yeah, it was, it was.
• 1:06:41
Speaker 1: It was just a it was just a once in
• 1:06:43
  Speaker 1: a lifetime. I hope it's not a once in a
• 1:06:45
Speaker 1: lifetime experience. I hope I get to experience something especially again.
• 1:06:48
Speaker 1: But I just can't imagine that I'll ever have such
• 1:06:52
Speaker 1: a group as we did.
• 1:06:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, we were very lucky, awesome, and the.
• 1:06:56
Speaker 4: Tone was of like camaraderie and support if anyone did something,
• 1:07:01
Speaker 4: you know what it was.
• 1:07:02
Speaker 5: It wasn't the person there.
• 1:07:03
Speaker 4: That wanted to have all the jokes or was trying
• 1:07:06
Speaker 4: to steal focused or doing all Everyone was happy for
• 1:07:09
Speaker 4: everyone else to be funny.
• 1:07:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, and you got a sense like this is this
• 1:07:13
Speaker 1: person's time to shine, like don't get in their way,
• 1:07:15
Speaker 1: let them, let them crush it. And we were like
• 1:07:18
Speaker 1: rooting each other on. Yeah, I got another question, my friend.
• 1:07:23
Speaker 6: I do have another question. This one's from my mom, because,
• 1:07:26
Speaker 6: like I said, you got me into the show. So
• 1:07:28
Speaker 6: when I found out, I had to give her a.
• 1:07:30
Speaker 1: Call because a mama's boy is Donald and I are.
• 1:07:35
Speaker 6: My mom just wanted to know what was everybody's favorite
• 1:07:38
  Speaker 6: episode of film.
• 1:07:41
Speaker 1: Christa you want to go first? As our special.
• 1:07:42
Speaker 4: Guest, favorite episode I loved that scene that I tell
• 1:07:55
Speaker 4: everyone off and ruin everybody's life.
• 1:07:58
Speaker 1: And everybody's big monologue, just destroy everybody.
• 1:08:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, and then I tell her, but I also will
• 1:08:04
Speaker 4: say this the moment that I wish I could do overs.
• 1:08:08
  Speaker 4: I don't feel like I took a good advantage of
• 1:08:12
Speaker 4: being able to have a proper makeout session with Zach Brath.
• 1:08:16
Speaker 3: Oh my god, you know what I mean, Like, I
• 1:08:18
Speaker 3: just it just got really uncomfortable.
• 1:08:21
Speaker 2: I just feel like.
• 1:08:22
Speaker 4: I didn't investigate that as thoroughly as I wanted to.
• 1:08:25
Speaker 1: Oh my god, by the way she says this ship
• 1:08:28
Speaker 1: in front of Bill. Can you imagine, dear listeners, imagine
• 1:08:32
Speaker 1: how awkward it is when she says this ship in
• 1:08:34
Speaker 1: front of Bill and she She'll be We'll be standing there.
• 1:08:37
Speaker 1: It will be like a dinner, and she'll be like,
• 1:08:39
  Speaker 1: you know, Bill, I just I wish I just didn't
• 1:08:41
Speaker 1: save her the time the making scenes.
• 1:08:44
  Speaker 4: I didn't save her. I didn't say one more take.
• 1:08:46
Speaker 4: I didn't like get into it.
• 1:08:48
Speaker 3: I didn't, you know, I should have said one more take.
• 1:08:52
Speaker 1: And Bill's Bill, and Bill's just saying and just Bill's
• 1:08:55
Speaker 1: just standing there shaking his head, and I'm like, shut
• 1:08:57
  Speaker 1: the fuck up.
• 1:08:58
Speaker 2: And I was like, Zach was a little nervous. Maybe
• 1:09:00
Speaker 2: we could revisit it now?
• 1:09:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you do?
• 1:09:04
  Speaker 5: Oh?
• 1:09:04
Speaker 3: I got it so awkward right now?
• 1:09:06
Speaker 1: Could you guys get off the zoom call for my Donald?
• 1:09:12
Speaker 1: Do you want to go? I know what my show is.
• 1:09:13
Speaker 3: My favorite episode to shoot was the musical episode. I
• 1:09:16
Speaker 3: really enjoyed that. There are a bunch of things that
• 1:09:19
Speaker 3: I got to do on this show that were bucket
• 1:09:23
Speaker 3: list type things like I wanted I've always wanted to
• 1:09:25
Speaker 3: be in a Star Wars and I got to do
• 1:09:28
Speaker 3: that very early on in this show. One of my
• 1:09:31
Speaker 3: favorite actors in the Whole Wide World is well, I
• 1:09:35
Speaker 3: should say characters in the Whole Wide World are characters
• 1:09:39
Speaker 3: that Harrison Ford has played, and Indiana Jones was one
• 1:09:43
Speaker 3: of them, and I got the opportunity to do that
• 1:09:45
Speaker 3: as well. But I really, most most of all, I
• 1:09:50
Speaker 3: enjoyed doing the musical episode and having to dance and sing.
• 1:09:53
Speaker 3: You know, I front Like I tell it. People ask me,
• 1:09:56
Speaker 3: are you a fan of musical theater? And I'll lie
• 1:09:58
Speaker 3: and I'll say to them, absolutely not. I hate musical theater.
• 1:10:01
Speaker 1: You don't show that anymore.
• 1:10:03
Speaker 3: I still say that to people I'll be like, why
• 1:10:06
Speaker 3: why I say that a lot?
• 1:10:07
Speaker 1: Yes, Donald, Donald get in his car without his kids
• 1:10:10
  Speaker 1: and play Frozen.
• 1:10:12
Speaker 3: I will do I would do that, not only Frozen.
• 1:10:14
  Speaker 3: I'll play like I'll play I play a miss in
• 1:10:17
Speaker 3: the car. I play five guys named Mo in the
• 1:10:20
Speaker 3: car like I go all in. But I really enjoyed
• 1:10:24
Speaker 3: dancing and singing and uh with with with these guys.
• 1:10:30
Speaker 3: It was a lot of fun.
• 1:10:31
Speaker 1: My favorite episode is the one we've mentioned before. It
• 1:10:33
Speaker 1: was my first episode directing, and it was one of
• 1:10:36
Speaker 1: the most epic episodes we've ever shot because Bill wanted
• 1:10:42
Speaker 1: to give me something that was quite literally impossible to
• 1:10:46
Speaker 1: execute in five days. But I was living my dream.
• 1:10:50
Speaker 1: I was working on the show that I was so
• 1:10:52
Speaker 1: proud of and excited about. The episode was huge. It's
• 1:10:56
Speaker 1: the one where Donald and I go on a quest
• 1:10:59
Speaker 1: over the course of one night to find Heather Graham's
• 1:11:01
Speaker 1: character Molly to give her the permission slip from Sarah
• 1:11:06
Speaker 1: that says I'm allowed to have sex with her. And
• 1:11:10
Speaker 1: Johnny's storyline is that he has to go to a
• 1:11:13
Speaker 1: ride with in an ambulance as part of his training,
• 1:11:17
Speaker 1: and Molly Shannon was the guest star and I don't know.
• 1:11:21
Speaker 1: I just really it turned out really great. And as
• 1:11:24
Speaker 1: Donald's reminded me at some point, said, do you say it?
• 1:11:29
Speaker 1: I was treated by a kyo?
• 1:11:30
Speaker 3: Donald, I was treated by a kyo. Where you've been?
• 1:11:34
Speaker 1: I was treed by a coyote?
• 1:11:36
Speaker 3: No, I go, I go, I go, I go to you?
• 1:11:37
Speaker 3: How the hell did you get up there? I was
• 1:11:40
  Speaker 3: treed by ayot.
• 1:11:43
Speaker 1: I love it when Donald does his woody Ellen. I
• 1:11:45
Speaker 1: was treated by I was treed. So that was a
• 1:11:51
Speaker 1: really great episode and I just felt really proud of it,
• 1:11:53
Speaker 1: and I pulled it off, and it was one of
• 1:11:55
Speaker 1: those things where it's one of my favorite episodes.
• 1:11:57
Speaker 3: We'll give you one more question if you haven't.
• 1:11:59
Speaker 6: Yeah, well that was just thank you.
• 1:12:04
Speaker 1: No, we didn't tell the guy he was going to
• 1:12:06
  Speaker 1: have three?
• 1:12:10
Speaker 6: How are people stayingsane in this pandemic?
• 1:12:14
Speaker 3: You know, this is an escape for us, To be
• 1:12:16
Speaker 3: honest with you, if I didn't have this outlet, you know,
• 1:12:21
Speaker 3: my wife said to me actually this morning, she was like,
• 1:12:26
Speaker 3: you don't understand, man. You have an outlet. You get
• 1:12:30
Speaker 3: to talk to your best friend, and you get to
• 1:12:32
Speaker 3: talk to the people that you worked with for over
• 1:12:35
Speaker 3: ten you know, for ten years, you get to talk
• 1:12:37
Speaker 3: to them once or twice a week. I don't have
• 1:12:41
Speaker 3: an outlet like that. So she's going insane right now,
• 1:12:44
Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And she's with the kids
• 1:12:47
Speaker 3: while I'm doing this right now. But this is an
• 1:12:49
Speaker 3: escape for me, and I wish I could bring my
• 1:12:51
Speaker 3: wife up in here so she could enjoy this too,
• 1:12:53
Speaker 3: because she would have such a great time.
• 1:12:55
Speaker 1: She come on one day.
• 1:12:56
Speaker 3: I just realized she would love to come on.
• 1:13:00
Speaker 1: Hilarious and so funny.
• 1:13:01
Speaker 3: She would also embarrass the ship out of me too
• 1:13:04
Speaker 3: by talking about me, uh, talking about things that I want.
• 1:13:07
Speaker 1: We're gonna have to do. We should one day, like
• 1:13:10
Speaker 1: if we keep doing this, we should do like the
• 1:13:12
  Speaker 1: significant others guests.
• 1:13:14
Speaker 3: Go right right and how they dealt with.
• 1:13:17
Speaker 1: We'll test it out with Bill and Christa on the
• 1:13:19
Speaker 1: on the season one finale and see how it comes.
• 1:13:21
Speaker 3: But awesome. That's how I stay saying.
• 1:13:23
Speaker 1: Me too, me too. I'm the same way, man. I
• 1:13:25
Speaker 1: look so forward to this, and especially seeing the reaction
• 1:13:28
Speaker 1: to it and people loving it so much. It's just
• 1:13:31
Speaker 1: it's mind boggling to us. And so it is. It's
• 1:13:33
Speaker 1: like therapy. We come here and we laugh and giggle
• 1:13:36
Speaker 1: and act stupid and I'm really loving it. Rising. How
• 1:13:40
Speaker 1: are you staying scene over there?
• 1:13:42
Speaker 5: I've been writing with someone.
• 1:13:45
  Speaker 2: I've been.
• 1:13:47
Speaker 4: You know, all my kids are here. It's you know,
• 1:13:50
Speaker 4: in la. We have a good setup. You know, we
• 1:13:52
Speaker 4: have croquet in the backyard. We play croquet every afternoon.
• 1:13:57
Speaker 4: We had a very rousing game of code names last night,
• 1:14:00
Speaker 4: which was very fun. You know, I'm happy just doing
• 1:14:04
  Speaker 4: my thing.
• 1:14:05
Speaker 1: By the way, as we started the show, often you
• 1:14:07
Speaker 1: weren't here. But there are certain people that are so happy,
• 1:14:10
Speaker 1: you know that they don't that the world has given
• 1:14:12
Speaker 1: them permission to not have to leave their house. And
• 1:14:14
Speaker 1: christ is one of those. She's like, oh, no one,
• 1:14:17
Speaker 1: no one gets to tell me that I have to
• 1:14:19
Speaker 1: go do things. I'm fine, thank you.
• 1:14:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm totally fine.
• 1:14:24
Speaker 3: What about you, Austin? How are you staying sane?
• 1:14:27
Speaker 6: You know a lot of video games, a lot of
• 1:14:30
Speaker 6: I picked up, like a bunch of extra tabletop gaming
• 1:14:33
Speaker 6: besides D and D since this all started.
• 1:14:36
Speaker 1: What's one you can recommend to our listeners? That's not
• 1:14:40
Speaker 1: too hard because I know some of these tabletop games
• 1:14:42
Speaker 1: are very complicated, like D and D. But if someone
• 1:14:45
Speaker 1: if someone who's listening including myself, wanted to kind of
• 1:14:48
Speaker 1: get into the world of tabletop gaming. What it is
• 1:14:51
Speaker 1: one or two that you recommend?
• 1:14:53
Speaker 6: Uh one I really commend is bubble Gum Shoe.
• 1:14:57
Speaker 1: I'm running that down.
• 1:14:59
Speaker 6: It is kids can't play it. You play as a
• 1:15:02
Speaker 6: teenage detective. Okay, so you're a team detective and the
• 1:15:08
Speaker 6: rules are pretty simple. The character sheet I have mine
• 1:15:11
  Speaker 6: right here. It's like a single page. There's not a
• 1:15:14
Speaker 6: bunch of complex rules you have to remember a bunch
• 1:15:16
Speaker 6: of math you gotta do.
• 1:15:19
Speaker 1: So there's that one. What about another one, Bubble Gum Show.
• 1:15:22
Speaker 1: I wrote that down.
• 1:15:23
Speaker 6: Another one is uh no, thank you Evil.
• 1:15:27
Speaker 1: I believe it's Thank you Evil.
• 1:15:29
Speaker 6: Can my kids play that too? Your kids can't play
• 1:15:32
Speaker 6: that one too. It is an all ages tabletop RPG
• 1:15:35
Speaker 6: game that scales the rules depending on how old the
• 1:15:38
  Speaker 6: kid is.
• 1:15:39
Speaker 1: So you should be writing this down because Donald could
• 1:15:46
Speaker 1: have like forty players at his house.
• 1:15:48
Speaker 3: Oh cool, you man, all right, there's not that many
• 1:15:51
  Speaker 3: of us.
• 1:15:52
Speaker 1: Listen, Casey got pregnant, Like while we were on this podcast.
• 1:15:58
Speaker 1: What about Settlers of Katan? I hear about that. It
• 1:16:01
Speaker 1: feels like that's the most famous for us non board
• 1:16:04
Speaker 1: game people. That's the most famous one you hear about.
• 1:16:07
Speaker 1: Do you like that one?
• 1:16:09
Speaker 6: I don't like Settlers of Catan. Nothing against the artists
• 1:16:12
Speaker 6: who worked on it or the team who made.
• 1:16:14
Speaker 1: Sorry I started to interrupt, but both of our producers. Yeah,
• 1:16:20
Speaker 1: I want you to know that both of our producers
• 1:16:22
Speaker 1: sometimes have their cameras off. They both flipped their cameras
• 1:16:25
Speaker 1: on to show how fucking limits d come back, Dan,
• 1:16:29
Speaker 1: you gotta come back and walked away. Joel almost fell
• 1:16:31
Speaker 1: off her chair. Dan, I'm just a humble fan.
• 1:16:38
  Speaker 6: I mean, I love Settlers.
• 1:16:42
Speaker 1: No, it's fine. I just want you to know you
• 1:16:43
Speaker 1: gave both of our producers a heart attack.
• 1:16:47
Speaker 6: I'm not a big fan of Settlers of Oh my god, against.
• 1:16:54
Speaker 1: I know now that the show Joelle just Joelle just
• 1:16:57
Speaker 1: left the room. She had to get off.
• 1:17:01
Speaker 6: Yeah, not that big on Settlers.
• 1:17:02
Speaker 1: All right, Well, listen, I'm here to tell you. I'm
• 1:17:06
Speaker 1: here to tell you everyone. I don't know sellers with can,
• 1:17:08
Speaker 1: but I can tell you that are very strong opinions
• 1:17:10
Speaker 1: on both sides of loving or hating Austin. We got
• 1:17:14
Speaker 1: to go because we've already run so long. Thank you
• 1:17:16
Speaker 1: so much for coming, Thanks for being a fan and
• 1:17:19
Speaker 1: uh and uh and and thanks for the recommendations on
• 1:17:21
  Speaker 1: the games.
• 1:17:22
Speaker 6: Yeah, thanks so much for having me.
• 1:17:24
Speaker 7: Do you want to mention your Twitch stream?
• 1:17:26
Speaker 6: Oh sure, yeah, I stream with Welcome to the Party
• 1:17:31
Speaker 6: RPG every Saturday at eight pm is your standard time? Uh,
• 1:17:35
Speaker 6: where you can watch you play Bubble Gum Shoe.
• 1:17:38
Speaker 1: Well, there you go, guys. I think Krista will be
• 1:17:40
Speaker 1: definitely tuning in and yes and uh no, but I'd
• 1:17:46
Speaker 1: love to watch you play. And I can't wait to
• 1:17:47
Speaker 1: tune in to watch you and Joel and Dan play
• 1:17:50
Speaker 1: Sellers of Catan and have them have them change your
• 1:17:54
  Speaker 1: mind off.
• 1:17:55
Speaker 6: Thank you everybody all, have a lovely day.
• 1:17:59
Speaker 1: Wow, I've we've been doing this for eighteen episodes. I've
• 1:18:02
Speaker 1: never seen Joel or Dan get that worked up about anything.
• 1:18:05
Speaker 3: They got very worked up just now. Joelle gets worked
• 1:18:07
Speaker 3: up when we talk Star Wars.
• 1:18:09
Speaker 1: I know, but I gotta tell you that was the
• 1:18:10
Speaker 1: best adverseillers of Good Tan.
• 1:18:11
Speaker 3: I've ever seen ever in the history.
• 1:18:13
Speaker 1: I know. But we're gonna get them as an advertiser
• 1:18:15
Speaker 1: now because our producers flipped out, all right. When the
• 1:18:19
Speaker 1: janitor says this stethoscope is mine, and then he says
• 1:18:22
Speaker 1: into the stethoscope, it's getting hot, Redbird pull me out.
• 1:18:27
Speaker 1: That shit was funny.
• 1:18:28
  Speaker 5: I laugh.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 3: I left at that too.
• 1:18:30
Speaker 1: That's clearly a Neil improv because there's no way that
• 1:18:33
Speaker 1: was written into the scrip.
• 1:18:35
  Speaker 2: I like that, I do.
• 1:18:37
Speaker 4: I did love the c story because I of Donald
• 1:18:40
Speaker 4: and Sarah, of finding out about Ken Jenkins musical past.
• 1:18:46
Speaker 4: But I do love Donald and Sarah together. The chemistry
• 1:18:52
Speaker 4: with the two of them is very unique.
• 1:18:54
Speaker 3: I wrote, I wrote at the end of this, I wrote,
• 1:18:56
Speaker 3: I really enjoyed watching Sarah and I together. Uh and
• 1:19:03
  Speaker 3: and we didn't get to do a lot. I don't
• 1:19:05
Speaker 3: recall us doing a lot together while making the show.
• 1:19:09
Speaker 3: So going back and seeing that, it was like, holy shit,
• 1:19:13
Speaker 3: we had a good little h dynamic duo thing going.
• 1:19:17
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 1:19:17
  Speaker 4: And it's a it's a it's kind of an unusual chemistry.
• 1:19:21
  Speaker 4: It's it's definitely different in a way, like you're both
• 1:19:24
Speaker 4: kind of silly, Like there's some bumbling element to it
• 1:19:30
Speaker 4: that's very funny, Like you have a line reading when
• 1:19:32
Speaker 4: you're you're still holding onto her finger because she swore
• 1:19:35
Speaker 4: to you that she wasn't going to do a thing,
• 1:19:38
Speaker 4: and then a second she sees Ken she's she says.
• 1:19:42
Speaker 5: I heard you did the music and you.
• 1:19:43
Speaker 3: Went you you swore.
• 1:19:47
Speaker 1: I didn't notice that they were still pinky.
• 1:19:50
Speaker 5: We're still holding each other's pikies, and.
• 1:19:53
Speaker 3: Then I pulled away. You sa like. I enjoyed that
• 1:19:57
Speaker 3: a lot as going back in looking at this, Who
• 1:20:02
Speaker 3: knew Ken Jenkins was that good of a guitar player, dude,
• 1:20:06
  Speaker 3: I know.
• 1:20:06
Speaker 1: I knew we had a great voice. I forgot that
• 1:20:08
Speaker 1: he could play the guitar like that.
• 1:20:10
Speaker 3: Dude. It sounded like he was he was blusing out, man,
• 1:20:13
Speaker 3: he was going hard. Was that actually him playing yeah?
• 1:20:17
Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, clearly him playing yeah.
• 1:20:20
  Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
• 1:20:22
Speaker 1: You know, it's funny. Most of the casts, with the
• 1:20:25
Speaker 1: exception of Sarah when we did the musical, could really.
• 1:20:28
Speaker 3: Sing yeah, had had some form of musical talent. Although
• 1:20:31
Speaker 3: Sarah does dance in this episode.
• 1:20:33
Speaker 1: Sarah can dance and dance in this episode is very adorable. Yeah,
• 1:20:36
Speaker 1: I told her, I told you so, dance.
• 1:20:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, I told you so. But I remember that went
• 1:20:42
Speaker 3: that went a lot further, but they cut it for
• 1:20:44
Speaker 3: the episode. Like she gets into the full splits when
• 1:20:48
Speaker 3: and when we would play the the gag reel and
• 1:20:52
Speaker 3: they let that thing go at one point she got
• 1:20:55
Speaker 3: all the way down into a full split, but I
• 1:20:57
Speaker 3: guess for the show they felt they was going on.
• 1:20:58
Speaker 1: Oh really, So if you're into did you guys can
• 1:21:00
Speaker 1: watch the Blueberry Slash gag reel of season one and
• 1:21:04
Speaker 1: there's probably video of Sarah doing extending that dance for
• 1:21:07
  Speaker 1: a long told.
• 1:21:07
Speaker 3: You so, I told you all the way down to
• 1:21:09
  Speaker 3: the split.
• 1:21:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, she's so adorable when she dances.
• 1:21:12
Speaker 5: Yeah, she's so adorable in general.
• 1:21:16
Speaker 1: I know I miss her, I really know. She We
• 1:21:18
Speaker 1: don't get to see Sarah that much because she's often
• 1:21:20
Speaker 1: in Canada. But when when the world's not closed down,
• 1:21:23
Speaker 1: you know, we see Christa and Bill and obviously Donald
• 1:21:27
Speaker 1: and I see each other. We don't ever see Chalky
• 1:21:30
Speaker 1: as we call her.
• 1:21:31
Speaker 3: Yeah, I do miss her. You know what? You know
• 1:21:34
Speaker 3: what I missed this year was the Easter. Yeah that
• 1:21:39
  Speaker 3: you guys do.
• 1:21:39
Speaker 1: Chris has a beautiful Easter party with bunnies, with bunnies, funnies.
• 1:21:44
Speaker 4: Every everyone was sad and I thought we would do
• 1:21:48
Speaker 4: it this summer, like, but we can't.
• 1:21:50
Speaker 5: So we're just gonna have to wait till next year.
• 1:21:52
Speaker 4: And the Easter book this year is amazing and I
• 1:21:56
Speaker 4: have I was just thinking as I was talking to you, guys,
• 1:21:58
Speaker 4: I have to send you some of the pictures because
• 1:22:00
Speaker 4: I have pictures of you and Zach and johny c.
• 1:22:04
Speaker 4: That are so sweet, like you just have your arms,
• 1:22:07
Speaker 4: like really sweet pictures.
• 1:22:08
Speaker 1: I love that party you have, and every year that
• 1:22:11
  Speaker 1: I'm going, I'm like a little kid because I'm like,
• 1:22:12
Speaker 1: I'm excited to see everyone. But then in my head,
• 1:22:14
  Speaker 1: I'm like, bunnies.
• 1:22:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, my kids love that party so much. They can't
• 1:22:19
Speaker 3: you know, there's an Easter egg hunt. There's you know,
• 1:22:23
Speaker 3: there are there are bunnies, there are goats, there are
• 1:22:26
Speaker 3: a bunch of different animals, baskets, Oh my gosh. They
• 1:22:30
Speaker 3: and for the love.
• 1:22:31
Speaker 1: And for the adults, alcohol yeah, alcohol, but also everyone
• 1:22:35
  Speaker 1: knows each other.
• 1:22:36
Speaker 2: It's kind of a great group. Ross comes.
• 1:22:40
Speaker 5: It's just all good.
• 1:22:41
Speaker 1: You guys throw a really good party. I think when
• 1:22:43
Speaker 1: the world opens up, you should throw a bash.
• 1:22:46
  Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, Bill.
• 1:22:50
Speaker 1: So Krista Miller Booty Call is at seven thirty five. Yeah,
• 1:22:53
Speaker 1: it's a great entrance. Christa, you walk, you walk right in.
• 1:22:56
Speaker 1: You're like, you don't even knock on the door. You're like,
• 1:22:59
  Speaker 1: let's do this.
• 1:23:00
Speaker 3: Hey, honey, honey, I'm home. That's what she says, Honey,
• 1:23:03
  Speaker 3: I'm home.
• 1:23:05
Speaker 1: She goes right to the bar starts pouring herself a drink.
• 1:23:08
Speaker 3: And he says something stupid. She's like, if you're going
• 1:23:10
Speaker 3: to talk like that, I need to pour me a
• 1:23:11
  Speaker 3: bigger drink.
• 1:23:12
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 1:23:12
Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's so boring, so boring.
• 1:23:16
Speaker 1: You know, we never learned about Jordan's other love interests.
• 1:23:20
Speaker 1: I mean, clearly Jordan was I'm sure not solely using
• 1:23:24
Speaker 1: doctor Cox as a booty call, or maybe she was.
• 1:23:27
  Speaker 6: I don't know.
• 1:23:27
Speaker 1: What do you think.
• 1:23:27
  Speaker 5: I don't think so.
• 1:23:28
Speaker 4: No, No, do you think what we saw you you
• 1:23:33
Speaker 4: were one of the booty calls?
• 1:23:35
  Speaker 3: No?
• 1:23:36
Speaker 1: I was never your booty call. Well, yeah, that's true.
• 1:23:38
  Speaker 6: You are.
• 1:23:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, sorry sorry I was, I was. I was. Yeah.
• 1:23:42
Speaker 1: So I think she's having her way with lots of men,
• 1:23:44
  Speaker 1: probably right.
• 1:23:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, but thinking in the back of her mind. Did
• 1:23:48
Speaker 3: Jordan think in the back of her mind that she
• 1:23:50
Speaker 3: was going to get back with Cox eventually?
• 1:23:53
  Speaker 2: Uh?
• 1:23:56
  Speaker 3: I don't.
• 1:23:57
  Speaker 8: I don't know.
• 1:24:00
Speaker 1: It's crazy people that get divorced and then get remarried.
• 1:24:03
Speaker 1: That's such as also.
• 1:24:04
Speaker 4: And Johnny c also have like four or five visectames
• 1:24:08
Speaker 4: and then reverse vasectomies too.
• 1:24:10
Speaker 3: For you though, Yeah for me?
• 1:24:12
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, can you really reverse the vasectomy with I
• 1:24:16
Speaker 1: mean you can, right.
• 1:24:18
Speaker 3: That's what the doctor said when he did mine. He
• 1:24:20
Speaker 3: told me, don't worry, we can reverse this shit really.
• 1:24:23
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and anytime and when Casey starts getting itchy again,
• 1:24:27
Speaker 3: we might have to do it. That's all I know now, bullshite.
• 1:24:32
Speaker 3: We're not gonna have no more kids in crazy.
• 1:24:34
Speaker 1: It's a shame that you snipped yourself. Donald. You make
• 1:24:37
  Speaker 1: such beautiful children.
• 1:24:38
  Speaker 2: They're so beautiful.
• 1:24:40
Speaker 3: Thank you, very very much.
• 1:24:41
Speaker 1: And I know it's expensive, but you know, next time
• 1:24:44
Speaker 1: you get some big ass job, you're gonna be like,
• 1:24:46
Speaker 1: I need to plant my seed now.
• 1:24:49
Speaker 5: Donald, how many kids do you have?
• 1:24:51
Speaker 1: Like Fortunen twenty seven?
• 1:24:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, yeah, it's up there now.
• 1:24:55
Speaker 4: I mean I see like twelve of them at Easter,
• 1:24:58
Speaker 4: which makes me happy.
• 1:25:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the other and then the other the
• 1:25:02
Speaker 3: other thirty something. Yeah.
• 1:25:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald, tell us about Holy son of a Cracker, because.
• 1:25:09
Speaker 3: That that that I remember when I had to say that,
• 1:25:12
Speaker 3: And you know who gave me that was Bill Lawrence,
• 1:25:14
  Speaker 3: Bill Lawrence CA.
• 1:25:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no way Bill wrote Holy Son of a cracker.
• 1:25:17
Speaker 3: Bill Lawrence on set came to me and said, say,
• 1:25:20
Speaker 3: holy son of a cracker. I was like, what say,
• 1:25:24
Speaker 3: holy son of a cracker?
• 1:25:25
Speaker 1: Georgia Jefferson used to say cracker all the time.
• 1:25:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, man, it's a dirackt you know. Okay, So look
• 1:25:31
Speaker 3: for those of you who don't know. And then cracker
• 1:25:33
Speaker 3: doesn't mean anything when somebody says the cracker is somebody
• 1:25:37
Speaker 3: of the opposite race who cracks a whip on black people.
• 1:25:42
Speaker 3: That's where a cracker is from. That's where cracker comes from.
• 1:25:45
Speaker 3: You and and and you are below other white people
• 1:25:49
Speaker 3: because all you are is a whip cracker.
• 1:25:53
Speaker 1: I see. So that's what you're calling JD.
• 1:25:56
  Speaker 3: JD is called.
• 1:26:01
Speaker 1: Just choking that, that's calling your best friend.
• 1:26:03
Speaker 3: I'm just putting out there. So when Bill said that,
• 1:26:07
Speaker 3: I was like, really, he was like, say it. I
• 1:26:09
Speaker 3: was like, okay, but.
• 1:26:12
Speaker 4: Don't you think isn't it the fun the most fun
• 1:26:14
Speaker 4: part in Scrubs When Bill would you'd be doing a
• 1:26:19
Speaker 4: joke and Bill whispers something in your ear and he'd say,
• 1:26:21
Speaker 4: don't say anything. So you haven't told anyone that you're
• 1:26:23
Speaker 4: going to change the queue line for them, And then
• 1:26:26
Speaker 4: you say something like Son of a Cracker and then
• 1:26:29
  Speaker 4: everyone laughs.
• 1:26:30
Speaker 2: It's the it's the best, it's the best feeling.
• 1:26:33
Speaker 3: You know who would never laugh though, is fucking Neil Flynn.
• 1:26:37
Speaker 3: You could never say anything where he'd be like, I
• 1:26:41
Speaker 3: didn't think that was fun. You caught me off guard. Yeah,
• 1:26:43
Speaker 3: he would always be right away ready to go again. Christa,
• 1:26:48
Speaker 3: was it Stuff or Maxim Magazine that you were on
• 1:26:50
  Speaker 3: the cover of.
• 1:26:51
Speaker 4: I was the first Maxim magazine cover girl.
• 1:26:55
Speaker 3: Okay, that is awesome, that's amazing. Bill said. He used
• 1:27:00
Speaker 3: to walk around town holding the magazine talking about this
• 1:27:03
Speaker 3: is my my girlfriend. Have you seen a new Maximum
• 1:27:08
  Speaker 3: my girlfriend?
• 1:27:11
  Speaker 6: Yeah? It was.
• 1:27:13
Speaker 5: That was really fun and cool.
• 1:27:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, so holy Son of a Cracker. And I remember
• 1:27:17
Speaker 3: also that day you were there, we were doing the
• 1:27:20
Speaker 3: scene and we tried to convince Lawrence Trilling to who
• 1:27:25
Speaker 3: directed this episode, to put lotion on the side of
• 1:27:28
Speaker 3: the bed. So when Turk rolls over and says to Carla, hey,
• 1:27:32
Speaker 3: so you know, since we're up, and she goes no,
• 1:27:35
Speaker 3: no no. Instead of him going back to sleep, we
• 1:27:38
Speaker 3: tried to make it so that I rolled over and
• 1:27:40
  Speaker 3: then squeezed lotion.
• 1:27:42
Speaker 1: And we definitely shot that shot that Yeah, we definitely
• 1:27:46
Speaker 1: shot that didn't put it. That was hilarious.
• 1:27:50
Speaker 3: That was one of those things where he was like,
• 1:27:51
Speaker 3: you know, I showed it to Krista and she was.
• 1:27:53
Speaker 1: Like, yeah, christ didn't like masturbation. So, speaking of that,
• 1:28:02
Speaker 1: ten twenty three, when I come in and my my
• 1:28:05
Speaker 1: parents are playing wheelbarrow, and that's that's me, the voice
• 1:28:11
Speaker 1: of my own father, like, go back to bed. I'm
• 1:28:14
  Speaker 1: fixing mommy's back.
• 1:28:17
Speaker 3: Which is very interesting because the very next episode, John ridd.
• 1:28:21
Speaker 1: Yes, John Ridder, it's such a shame that we can't.
• 1:28:26
Speaker 1: I didn't even know who to have on. I actually
• 1:28:28
Speaker 1: thought about having his son on, but then I thought,
• 1:28:30
Speaker 1: I don't know if Jason even watched an episode of Scrubs,
• 1:28:33
Speaker 1: but we're gonna have to turn that episode of into
• 1:28:34
Speaker 1: just a beautiful memorial. Christa in bed with Johnny C.
• 1:28:39
Speaker 1: He's ripped Christa. So if you're gonna have a scene partner,
• 1:28:42
Speaker 1: at least you get the very muscular Johnny C.
• 1:28:45
Speaker 3: Yes, and I imagine this was one of those days
• 1:28:47
Speaker 3: where you're like, dude, if you put all of that
• 1:28:49
Speaker 3: fucking grease on your body, I'm gonna kill you.
• 1:28:53
  Speaker 2: I can't do this.
• 1:28:55
Speaker 1: He would also do lots of push ups right, yes, yeah.
• 1:28:59
Speaker 1: One secret for you young actors out there is that
• 1:29:02
Speaker 1: if you do lots of push ups right before you're seen,
• 1:29:04
Speaker 1: at least makes you look a little bit more ripped.
• 1:29:07
Speaker 1: But not that Johnny needed to help. He's pretty damn ripped.
• 1:29:09
Speaker 1: But Johnny would always bang out a whole bunch of
• 1:29:11
  Speaker 1: push ups.
• 1:29:11
Speaker 3: But I did notice that this is one of those
• 1:29:13
Speaker 3: episodes where the crisco was light. It was light.
• 1:29:15
Speaker 2: It was light light.
• 1:29:19
Speaker 4: You guys will have to have me on when you
• 1:29:22
Speaker 4: when we when you get way farther down in seasons.
• 1:29:25
Speaker 4: What I had to come in after giving birth to
• 1:29:27
Speaker 4: Will two weeks after giving birth to Will and roll
• 1:29:31
Speaker 4: slide around with Johnny c in bed with just looped up.
• 1:29:38
  Speaker 2: Another show.
• 1:29:41
Speaker 1: So he would just he would make his muscles glisten
• 1:29:44
Speaker 1: or no, I think he was supposed to be post sex. It'
• 1:29:45
Speaker 1: supposed to be sweaty, right.
• 1:29:47
Speaker 3: No, did his muscles glisten?
• 1:29:49
  Speaker 6: Dude?
• 1:29:49
Speaker 3: That was his thing, all right?
• 1:29:51
Speaker 1: Well, he the man likes to listen. If you have
• 1:29:53
Speaker 1: those pectoralis majors, shine him up.
• 1:29:55
Speaker 5: Yeah, let's see it.
• 1:29:57
  Speaker 3: Donald.
• 1:29:57
Speaker 1: I laughed when you said, have you guys ever stopped
• 1:29:59
Speaker 1: at think that maybe Bunny is just a real bunny.
• 1:30:04
Speaker 3: Turk is so dumb. That was like a toddy, He's
• 1:30:10
Speaker 3: so dumb. I remember watching that.
• 1:30:14
Speaker 1: I was like, what, so, Christa, do you think that
• 1:30:17
Speaker 1: she was jealous? But then was the last thing in
• 1:30:20
Speaker 1: the world she was gonna do is let him think
• 1:30:22
Speaker 1: that she was jealous?
• 1:30:23
Speaker 2: Of course, Well, this is my motto in life.
• 1:30:25
Speaker 1: Also, so that was sort of method acting.
• 1:30:30
  Speaker 2: Yes, it was.
• 1:30:32
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 1:30:33
Speaker 1: That's so funny. And also speaking of very cristal things,
• 1:30:36
Speaker 1: when you're in the cafeteria at sixteen oh nine and
• 1:30:38
Speaker 1: they get in a fight and you go, I should leave.
• 1:30:41
Speaker 1: And then when when Christy hears a good bit of
• 1:30:45
Speaker 1: gossip like kiss her fingers like it like she's licking
• 1:30:48
Speaker 1: off the juices. She'll do this face John, when you
• 1:30:55
Speaker 1: put your fingers And I literally wrote down, I literally
• 1:31:02
Speaker 1: went out of my notes. That is so Christa being
• 1:31:04
Speaker 1: like I should leave, but not leaving.
• 1:31:07
Speaker 6: Not at all all.
• 1:31:08
Speaker 3: Right, how did they do the sweat thing on you? Dude?
• 1:31:11
Speaker 1: There was like a little hidden hose, tiny little hose
• 1:31:15
Speaker 1: in my hairline, and I think that's how it was done.
• 1:31:18
Speaker 1: And then it just drips it just open it up
• 1:31:21
  Speaker 1: and face.
• 1:31:23
  Speaker 3: That was crazy.
• 1:31:24
Speaker 1: That was well done.
• 1:31:25
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 1:31:26
Speaker 3: Also when you got on the elevator. This is an
• 1:31:29
Speaker 3: argument in Bill's favor where maybe the janitor is in
• 1:31:35
Speaker 3: JD's mind, because I think this is the this is
• 1:31:38
Speaker 3: the one time where he gets, hey, hey, killer, how
• 1:31:40
Speaker 3: you doing after you're very very uh destruct because you
• 1:31:46
Speaker 3: feel like you didn't do enough for the patient who
• 1:31:48
Speaker 3: just died. Right, and you walk onto the elevator and
• 1:31:50
Speaker 3: the janitor is there and he's like, hey, killer, and
• 1:31:54
Speaker 3: may it sends you even further right, and that that too,
• 1:31:58
Speaker 3: and then you walk out, see you later, killer.
• 1:32:01
Speaker 1: That's true. Christa makes a good point. How would he
• 1:32:03
Speaker 1: even know that I lost the patient? He just knows everything.
• 1:32:05
Speaker 1: He's all knowing that channel. He's yeah, but but you've
• 1:32:10
Speaker 1: already proven that time and time again.
• 1:32:12
Speaker 3: Donald. I'm just saying this is one of those moments
• 1:32:14
Speaker 3: where this is one of those moments where.
• 1:32:17
Speaker 1: Bill doesn't even have defenses anymore. He just yells five
• 1:32:19
Speaker 1: to six seven eight, right, Christah. I don't know if
• 1:32:23
Speaker 1: you know this, because I don't know how much you're
• 1:32:24
Speaker 1: listening to this, but Bill, Bill yelling five to six
• 1:32:27
Speaker 1: seven eight to start our theme song has become a
• 1:32:29
Speaker 1: fan favorite joke on my Instagram. Every other comment is
• 1:32:32
Speaker 1: just five to six, seven, eight, which is a shout
• 1:32:34
Speaker 1: out to your husband.
• 1:32:36
Speaker 5: He wanted me to do that today and I said, no,
• 1:32:39
Speaker 5: we made a rule.
• 1:32:40
Speaker 1: We made a rule. You're allowed to count in. I
• 1:32:43
Speaker 1: think you should count in when we're done with the show.
• 1:32:45
Speaker 1: We decided. In the world of the podcast, Bill is
• 1:32:48
Speaker 1: the only one, because he's the creator of the show,
• 1:32:50
Speaker 1: with the power to start the theme song without our permission, right, Donald.
• 1:32:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the only one. Like I don't even get
• 1:32:57
Speaker 3: the power to do that unless it's for the show,
• 1:32:59
Speaker 3: right and and yes.
• 1:33:01
Speaker 1: If it's not a yeah, Bill, Bill has magical powers.
• 1:33:04
Speaker 1: You can always start the thing.
• 1:33:05
Speaker 3: He's the only one that can do that. That didn't
• 1:33:07
Speaker 3: look like a firing squad either, but that joke was
• 1:33:10
Speaker 3: hilarious as fuck. Uh okay, I'm okay, I'm okay, Okay,
• 1:33:15
Speaker 3: I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay. And then they catched
• 1:33:18
Speaker 3: it the firing squad, you know, the putting the blindfold on.
• 1:33:21
Speaker 3: It looked like a comedy club with the spotlight on
• 1:33:24
Speaker 3: you and everything, and so when you go I'm okay,
• 1:33:26
Speaker 3: that shit had me. I laughed so fucking heart at that, dude.
• 1:33:29
Speaker 3: That was very funny.
• 1:33:30
Speaker 1: I'm okay, was a mistake, because you're right, it looked
• 1:33:35
Speaker 1: like a comedy club. You need a different backdrop for
• 1:33:38
Speaker 1: the for the I don't know what the correct for
• 1:33:42
Speaker 1: firing squad is, but brick wall is not it.
• 1:33:45
Speaker 3: No, I don't think so or whatever, But I thought
• 1:33:48
  Speaker 3: that was hilarious.
• 1:33:49
Speaker 1: So then Ken sings and it's very beautiful, and.
• 1:33:53
Speaker 3: And he's the song of the He's the song of
• 1:33:55
Speaker 3: the episode in this I don't know if.
• 1:33:57
Speaker 1: That song is a is a made up song. This
• 1:34:00
Speaker 1: might be a good question for should we asked have
• 1:34:02
Speaker 1: Chris to ask Bill? He's not gonna remember, He's just
• 1:34:05
Speaker 1: gonna say five to six, seven eight, But should we
• 1:34:07
Speaker 1: We want to be fun of Chris to ask Bill
• 1:34:08
  Speaker 1: a question?
• 1:34:09
Speaker 4: Do you have me to I can intercom him in
• 1:34:12
  Speaker 4: his office.
• 1:34:12
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, let's see if he'll answer in his ghetto tear.
• 1:34:15
Speaker 2: Here we go, All right, let me see what is
• 1:34:18
  Speaker 2: it called?
• 1:34:21
Speaker 1: Let me scrawl down my mansion billiards, billiards, indoor pool,
• 1:34:28
  Speaker 1: outdoor pool.
• 1:34:30
Speaker 2: We have a question for you.
• 1:34:31
Speaker 1: We're on the podcast. We're on the podcast right now.
• 1:34:34
Speaker 4: You're on the podcast what the song that Ken Jenkins
• 1:34:38
Speaker 4: sings at the end of one eighteen.
• 1:34:41
Speaker 5: Is that a made up song? Or is that a song?
• 1:34:44
  Speaker 1: Heart?
• 1:34:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, we're taping you now, Tusk Gluke's Heart Heart.
• 1:34:51
Speaker 1: It's it was a made up song and we were
• 1:34:56
Speaker 1: just goofing around with it, and he helped us come
• 1:34:59
Speaker 1: up with it. He alwaysus to fit on his guitar
• 1:35:01
Speaker 1: and he is a Broadway thing.
• 1:35:03
Speaker 4: And the second that I asked him to.
• 1:35:06
Speaker 1: Do it, He's like, should be something like this, and
• 1:35:08
Speaker 1: they went, hang up off. No matter what you do,
• 1:35:21
Speaker 1: keep keep giving How many chances can we give him?
• 1:35:27
  Speaker 1: How many chances?
• 1:35:28
  Speaker 5: You know what?
• 1:35:29
Speaker 1: I feel like, It's like Lucy and Peanuts with the football.
• 1:35:31
Speaker 1: I mean, how many chances are we going to give?
• 1:35:33
  Speaker 7: This?
• 1:35:33
  Speaker 2: Never learned?
• 1:35:34
Speaker 1: We never learned, We never learned.
• 1:35:38
Speaker 3: A great episode, great episode.
• 1:35:40
Speaker 1: I did find it funny that Johnny c has just
• 1:35:41
Speaker 1: had sex with Jordan twice and then he's looking for
• 1:35:46
  Speaker 1: boobs on TV.
• 1:35:47
  Speaker 4: I mean I didn't understand that either, Like boobs, I
• 1:35:52
Speaker 4: didn't understand that was supposed.
• 1:35:53
Speaker 1: To say that he's lonesome and that he's that he's
• 1:35:56
Speaker 1: this booty calls you, But you guys aren't getting back together,
• 1:35:59
Speaker 1: and so he you've sabotaged his chances with this woman
• 1:36:03
Speaker 1: and now he is just back on his couch alone,
• 1:36:05
Speaker 1: trying to look for boobs on TV. But my brain
• 1:36:07
Speaker 1: went like, dude, you just had sex twice with Jordan,
• 1:36:10
Speaker 1: who's such a babe, and like, now you're on your
• 1:36:12
Speaker 1: couch looking for boobs on TV.
• 1:36:14
Speaker 3: That makes no sense.
• 1:36:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, unless you have make Donald blbido, it makes no sense.
• 1:36:18
Speaker 3: Well, even with my libido after three times, I'm good
• 1:36:23
Speaker 3: for a while, dude, at least at least for an hour, Yeah,
