- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome everybody to the best betting show ever. We're here
- 0:04Speaker 1: to make you money. We use sports as our canvas.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm Lawrence Presman, Carmine Bianco, and Art the Caesar with
- 0:11Speaker 1: me today. Joe Ranieri will be on soon. I think there's,
- 0:16Speaker 1: how many women is he with right now, Art? What
- 0:19Speaker 1: did he say? What was his reasoning?
- 0:21Speaker 2: I think the number was 10.
- 0:24Speaker 1: 10, yes. So he'll be busy for at least four
- 0:28Speaker 1: more minutes, give or take.
- 0:31Speaker 3: He's with the Indiana Fever. That's it. Oh, I want
- 0:35Speaker 3: to be with the Indiana Fever. And Sophie Cunningham. Yeah, he's... Sophie, yeah.
- 0:41Speaker 3: He's having a time.
- 0:43Speaker 1: She's made quite a brand for herself, and I approve.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Weekend recap? Not really. How did we do Monday, Art?
- 0:53Speaker 2: It was a slow day.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Not a big slate, obviously, in Major League Baseball. So,
- 0:57Speaker 4: you know, I'm going to assume... The books here are
- 0:59Speaker 4: just rearing up, like I said yesterday, for obviously some
- 1:03Speaker 4: more preseason. But everyone's zeroing in on week zero. So,
- 1:07Speaker 4: you know, we'll get that rolling here and obviously talk
- 1:09Speaker 4: about that throughout the week.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And, yeah, I mean, listen, this is a fun week.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, week zero, college football, everybody starts Saturday. A bunch
- 1:18Speaker 1: of games, a whole lot of teams around minus five. Art,
- 1:23Speaker 1: sharp bets. Have we seen any movement? Karma, I'll get
- 1:26Speaker 1: to you shortly. Have we seen any movement since yesterday
- 1:31Speaker 1: in college football?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a little bit of Hawaii money, actually,
- 1:36Speaker 2: which I was surprised.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I saw some places now have Stanford as low as four.
- 1:41Speaker 4: When we were talking yesterday, I saw you talking five
- 1:45Speaker 4: and a half, even sixes. And I remember saying I
- 1:46Speaker 4: liked Stanford. Well, hopefully you didn't bet that. Now you
- 1:49Speaker 4: can bet it now. You know, as we mentioned yesterday,
- 1:53Speaker 4: the big thing is this isn't like, hey, these numbers
- 1:56Speaker 4: have been out for 24 hours. These numbers have been
- 1:58Speaker 4: out for 20 weeks. You know, so there's been obviously
- 2:02Speaker 4: already initial moves. We're going to see the buyback. But
- 2:05Speaker 4: even as far as sharp stuff for today, because I
- 2:08Speaker 4: know we forgot about it yesterday, Prez, and there were
- 2:10Speaker 4: people chirping me in the comments yesterday. And I was
- 2:13Speaker 4: able to give some stuff out to people. in the comments.
- 2:16Speaker 4: So never want to forget the daily stuff. You look
- 2:18Speaker 4: at the WNBA today, they took the sky over 167
- 2:22Speaker 4: and a half, and they're on three MLB sides.
- 2:25Speaker 2: They're on the Blue Jays, they're on the Rangers, they're
- 2:27Speaker 2: on the Guardians.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yeah, funny that, Carm. All three of those teams vying
- 2:32Speaker 1: for the final wildcard spot. You think, which one do
- 2:36Speaker 1: you think is going to make it? Cleveland, Texas, Baltimore,
- 2:41Speaker 1: or our Toronto Blue Jays?
- 2:44Speaker 5: I'm going to be biased here. I'm going to go
- 2:47Speaker 5: with the Blue Jays. But that only goes with if
- 2:50Speaker 5: Aaron Getty looks better in his next start. And then,
- 2:55Speaker 5: of course, today's pitcher, Max Scherzer, he's got to be better.
- 3:03Speaker 3: He just has to be. He has to be better.
- 3:04Speaker 5: He has to dial in at one of those great
- 3:06Speaker 5: performances like he did in the World Series. against the Dodgers,
- 3:10Speaker 5: and then you get back to the guy, you know,
- 3:13Speaker 5: Dylan Cease, and you get back to Bieber, Biebs, which are,
- 3:17Speaker 5: you know, they're doing great.
- 3:19Speaker 3: So keep winning series. The last series of Prez was
- 3:22Speaker 3: their first series loss in, I think, in nine. So
- 3:27Speaker 3: it's not bad.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Oddly enough, 10 straight losses on a Sunday.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Let's say 10 straight losses on a Sunday. Is that
- 3:38Speaker 1: a trend worth betting, Art?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I mean, no, but it's interesting.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It's definitely a no, but it's interesting. Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Because I'll tell you, we're here every day giving sports
- 3:50Speaker 1: betting information out. We're telling you what to play. We'll
- 3:52Speaker 1: give you bets on every game in baseball today. But
- 3:55Speaker 1: the most important information we give is in between the lines.
- 3:59Speaker 1: It's the conceptual notion of betting, the concepts, the strategies.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And there's a perfect example right there. You know, yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 1: the Toronto Blue Jays have lost 10 Sundays in a row,
- 4:11Speaker 1: as Carmine just said, a number I did not know
- 4:13Speaker 1: about it. Does that mean you bet the next Sunday
- 4:16Speaker 1: they lose?
- 4:17Speaker 3: No.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That type of trend, from my perspective, Carm, jump in here,
- 4:22Speaker 1: is a coincidence. Yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 4:25Speaker 5: It is like walking up to a roulette wheel and
- 4:28Speaker 5: you see red 10 straight times and you're like, it's
- 4:31Speaker 5: got to be black.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 5: And you put your money down and then it's red
- 4:34Speaker 5: or vice versa. It's just, you can't, it's almost like
- 4:39Speaker 5: a coin flip, but the pitching matchups, I like the
- 4:42Speaker 5: pitching matchups and there were good ones for the Jays.
- 4:44Speaker 3: They just lost the series closers.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I will say, yeah, no, I'm with you a hundred percent. Okay,
- 4:53Speaker 1: let's talk. Let's stay inside of this wildcard race. So
- 4:58Speaker 1: Cleveland is a half game up on Houston, two games
- 5:02Speaker 1: up on Minnesota, two games up on Toronto, two and
- 5:05Speaker 1: a half on Baltimore, three on Seattle, and four and
- 5:09Speaker 1: a half on the Detroit Tigers. This Cleveland Guardians team
- 5:14Speaker 1: is basically even money to make the playoffs. Plus 115.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Texas is plus 100. Houston plus 130. But those two
- 5:24Speaker 1: teams have two shots at the playoffs. Toronto plus 260.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Minnesota 400. And Baltimore 600. Art, the Tigers are at
- 5:31Speaker 1: plus 1300. Is their value there given... that they are
- 5:41Speaker 1: still in this race, and that is an incredible number.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, if you just want to take a
- 5:47Speaker 4: shot with a team at 13-1 who's only four out,
- 5:50Speaker 4: and everyone in the American League, let's be honest, all
- 5:53Speaker 4: those teams we just named, they're not good. There's really
- 5:55Speaker 4: no good teams in the American League. They're all just
- 5:58Speaker 4: kind of basically floating around 500. I think the West
- 6:01Speaker 4: winner is just going to be the West winner. I
- 6:03Speaker 4: think if it's Houston or Texas, whoever wins the West
- 6:06Speaker 4: will get in. I don't think the other team will.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'm with you guys.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I think if I look at Toronto, at, you know,
- 6:11Speaker 4: plus 260, if you just said that. Yeah, I mean,
- 6:14Speaker 4: I like their pitching. I like the experience they had
- 6:17Speaker 4: last year. It'd be nice if Vladimir Guerrero could do
- 6:20Speaker 4: anything for them.
- 6:21Speaker 2: That would help. But, I mean, it's true. You know that.
- 6:24Speaker 4: He's a wonderful player, but I don't know. They're going
- 6:27Speaker 4: to need him down the stretch here. So I would
- 6:29Speaker 4: go with the Toronto experience.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I think he's still on zero home runs.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It's amazing for the amount of money.
- 6:40Speaker 5: He's, if they, if they did not pick up Okamoto
- 6:43Speaker 5: in the off season, where were the home runs coming
- 6:45Speaker 5: from this year? They're not coming from Vlad and that
- 6:50Speaker 5: big contract of his, it's a terrible year for him.
- 6:53Speaker 5: And they're still within striking distance of making the playoffs.
- 6:56Speaker 5: So if he heats up in the last two, three
- 6:58Speaker 5: weeks of the season, they could get in there.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 1: If, if he heats up, you know, If Angel Reese
- 7:05Speaker 1: had balls, well, she'd still be playing in the WNBA. Okay,
- 7:10Speaker 1: so that's not a bad joke. That is not a
- 7:14Speaker 1: bad joke. And I came up with it on the spot. Carm,
- 7:18Speaker 1: a friend of mine, one of my closest friends in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the whole world, I can't give his name out. He
- 7:23Speaker 1: has a heritage house in Rosedale, one of the most
- 7:26Speaker 1: spectacular homes you've ever seen. Except he lives in Florida now,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but he didn't want to sell that house. Vlad rented
- 7:33Speaker 1: it last year, and my friend didn't even tell me.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I could have gone. I could have gone and visited.
- 7:39Speaker 1: He didn't tell me.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyway.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well, what can you do? Lots of shows still ahead, everybody.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We got our parlay of the day. I won my
- 7:53Speaker 1: leg yesterday. Art, did we win our parlay yesterday?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Unfortunately, well, we went three out. Joe screwed us. Joe
- 8:02Speaker 2: screwed us.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Oh, bloody Joe. We went three out of four.
- 8:06Speaker 4: We always say, though, Prez, if it's a four-teamer, you
- 8:08Speaker 4: have to round robin.
- 8:09Speaker 1: On a four-teamer. So there you go. We got our
- 8:13Speaker 1: Parlay Day Day coming up. We got our Predictive Market segment.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We might not have Joe here to show us the screen.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So we'll race through it and talk Bitcoin. NFL future bet.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Carmine Bianco's got a whole lot for us there. And
- 8:28Speaker 1: college football week zero plus our MLB rundown. And we
- 8:31Speaker 1: will go through the mailbox segment of the show a
- 8:35Speaker 1: little later. And Art will be discussing you in that segment. Okay, boys.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Parlay of the day. Carmine, I will start with you.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Do you have a bet for us? Yes.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Uh, you're not going to like this, but I am
- 8:50Speaker 5: going against the blue Jays in this one, returning home
- 8:55Speaker 5: from a road trip and they get the suddenly hot
- 8:59Speaker 5: Kansas city Royals nine in one, their last 10 games,
- 9:02Speaker 5: their last place, but they're playing spoiler and they absolutely
- 9:06Speaker 5: loving it like nine of their last 10. Uh, and
- 9:09Speaker 5: you're getting plus money on them. Seth Lugo on the mound, uh,
- 9:12Speaker 5: today we'll see what he can do, but, uh, The
- 9:15Speaker 5: two old-timers today, 36, Lugo, and what's Scherzer, about 40, 50?
- 9:22Speaker 3: 71, I think.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's okay. Art, I'll go with mine, and
- 9:29Speaker 1: I like the White Sox. They lost to Texas last night.
- 9:32Speaker 1: They're K on the mound against DeGrom. Mine is basically
- 9:37Speaker 1: a pick-em, so we're going to go with the White
- 9:39Speaker 1: Sox for me. What do you like?
- 9:42Speaker 4: It's been profitable going against Mr. Skeens, and that's a
- 9:45Speaker 4: good pitching matchup in San Diego tonight. Skeens versus King.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Padres about a minus 120 favorite at home. I'll go
- 9:51Speaker 4: with the Padres.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Bitcoin in our Predictive market segment continues uh to move
- 10:00Speaker 1: at 79 now right this very minute um we were
- 10:05Speaker 1: wrong yesterday with that said i mean come on like
- 10:09Speaker 1: you know one of our listeners art put up in
- 10:11Speaker 1: the comment section that he did take my advice and
- 10:13Speaker 1: he did purchase bitcoin so i'm super pumped about that Guys,
- 10:18Speaker 1: we did see a little drop yesterday, about $ 1, 000. We
- 10:23Speaker 1: woke up this morning to a drop, but now we
- 10:25Speaker 1: are seeing some real good positive momentum. We're up 200
- 10:30Speaker 1: in the last few hours. I think it continues to climb.
- 10:34Speaker 1: My bet for today is over 79.5. It should be
- 10:39Speaker 1: slightly favored on the money. So over 79.5. I think
- 10:45Speaker 1: Bitcoin will break 80 today. And as I have said, Carmine,
- 10:50Speaker 1: in case you wanted to know, Bitcoin will close to
- 10:54Speaker 1: double in the next five months. So there's my prediction
- 11:00Speaker 1: on the predictive market segment of our show. What do
- 11:04Speaker 1: you got to promote, Carm? It's Customer Appreciation Tuesday. Every
- 11:09Speaker 1: handicapper over at any one of our sites, wager, talk,
- 11:14Speaker 1: sports memo, picks and parlays, et cetera, et cetera. Our
- 11:18Speaker 1: best handicappers, all of them, $ 5 for their best play.
- 11:22Speaker 1: What do you got, Carm?
- 11:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd be nothing if I wasn't transparent. Lawrence, off
- 11:30Speaker 5: a bad weekend, bounced back yesterday in fine fashion. across
- 11:35Speaker 5: everything that I released, 3-0 day. And today, Champions League
- 11:39Speaker 5: this afternoon. You can get it for $ 5.
- 11:41Speaker 3: It is the.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Last round of qualifying for the main tournament. You can
- 11:48Speaker 5: get that at WagerTalk for $ 5. And I'll have a
- 11:51Speaker 5: Leagues Cup play for tonight. That is the quarterfinals of
- 11:55Speaker 5: the Leagues Cup, which is the Mexican and the MLS
- 11:58Speaker 5: teams facing.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Off in the quarters.
- 12:01Speaker 5: That'll be up a little later on today for $ 5
- 12:04Speaker 5: as well, too. And then the NFL NHL Promo Pack
- 12:08Speaker 5: 777 gets you a full season of NFL and NHL.
- 12:13Speaker 3: There you go.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Guys, today is our 12th year anniversary over at Wager Talk,
- 12:20Speaker 1: and I cannot believe it's been 12 years. Time flies,
- 12:24Speaker 1: especially when you get old and especially when you have children, because... Man,
- 12:29Speaker 1: it moves quickly. I got a 25-year-old and a 23-year-old,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but most importantly, I have a 12-year-old, and that's Wager
- 12:36Speaker 1: Talk Media. What a ride it has been, boys. 12
- 12:41Speaker 1: spectacular years filled with a lot of joy, and that's
- 12:44Speaker 1: the most important thing because, you know, obviously we build
- 12:47Speaker 1: businesses to make money, and we have made money, and
- 12:50Speaker 1: I've done very well in life. I'm a successful businessman.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Entrepreneur.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But most importantly, I've had so much freaking joy doing
- 12:57Speaker 1: Wager Talk. I mean, Johnny and Marco and Teddy and
- 13:02Speaker 1: Joe and Steve, Art, Carmine. I mean, all the way
- 13:06Speaker 1: through Rick, Alec, Kelly, Stuart. It's been one of the
- 13:09Speaker 1: most incredible 12 years of my life. And We have
- 13:13Speaker 1: just started, guys. We have completely taken over this industry.
- 13:17Speaker 1: We are by far the largest in the space, and
- 13:20Speaker 1: we have just begun. We have incredible things coming your
- 13:24Speaker 1: way over the next few months, let alone years, let
- 13:28Speaker 1: alone 12 years. The growth has just started. Watch what
- 13:35Speaker 1: we are about to do as we move into the
- 13:37Speaker 1: next 12 years. To all of you guys who've watched
- 13:40Speaker 1: all our shows, Thank you, our customers. You are the
- 13:44Speaker 1: most important people in the world to us, our lifeline,
- 13:48Speaker 1: our listeners.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Thanks, guys.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Lots of love. That is it, our 12th year anniversary. Art,
- 13:55Speaker 1: can you believe 12 bloody years?
- 13:58Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Like you said, it's all about the people who watch
- 14:03Speaker 4: and are a part of this. Listen, I've been fortunate
- 14:07Speaker 4: to be a part of this Back when I worked
- 14:09Speaker 4: at Caesars, I mean, I remember going on a show
- 14:12Speaker 4: with Teddy and Ralph, and there was no video. It
- 14:15Speaker 4: was like a podcast. So, you know, I remember doing that,
- 14:18Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe eight or nine years ago. So
- 14:21Speaker 4: I've been fortunate enough to be with you guys for
- 14:22Speaker 4: a long time as well, and I love it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Carmine, you're one of the originals. So 12
- 14:28Speaker 1: years old. How long have you been with us? 11?
- 14:33Speaker 5: Uh, no, I started in, uh, 20, well, 2015. Uh,
- 14:37Speaker 5: I did start in 2015, which, uh, yeah. And, uh, uh,
- 14:43Speaker 5: basically from, from the start, absolutely love it. And, uh,
- 14:47Speaker 5: as you mentioned, all of those names like Marco and Teddy, uh,
- 14:50Speaker 5: obviously yourself, um, guys like, uh, in our office, like Johnny, the,
- 14:55Speaker 5: the staff that he put together with Missy and Melissa, uh,
- 14:58Speaker 5: And and Chris Allen, they for someone who at times
- 15:04Speaker 5: anxiety gets the best of me. You know, you always
- 15:08Speaker 5: talk about like mental health and what have you. Our
- 15:10Speaker 5: office and the girls are unbelievable that they keep you.
- 15:16Speaker 5: They just keep you going, whether it's a bad day.
- 15:19Speaker 5: in sports or just a bad day in life, Lawrence,
- 15:22Speaker 5: they are the absolute best. They should be therapists. They
- 15:25Speaker 5: should be paid as therapists.
- 15:26Speaker 1: They are therapists, Carm.
- 15:28Speaker 5: There's about 20 different personalities at WagerTalk and they handle
- 15:34Speaker 5: each and every one of them.
- 15:35Speaker 3: It's unbelievable.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but dude, you're only talking about the people at WagerTalk.
- 15:39Speaker 1: They got to deal with hundreds of emails a day
- 15:42Speaker 1: from guys who lost all their money when the handicapper
- 15:46Speaker 1: they purchased went three and one. So, yeah. I mean,
- 15:51Speaker 1: that's how it works, brother. That's how it works. But anyway,
- 15:54Speaker 1: shout out to all of you guys. It's been incredible. Carmine,
- 15:59Speaker 1: NFL future bets. What do you got for us?
- 16:05Speaker 5: So, you know, a lot of the things that I've
- 16:07Speaker 5: been looking at leading up to the season is, and
- 16:11Speaker 5: your bets on a week-to-week basis isn't based on this,
- 16:14Speaker 5: but it's certain data and information like on ATS that
- 16:18Speaker 5: you need to you need to keep as part of
- 16:21Speaker 5: the equation because some teams obviously definitely struggle. You look
- 16:25Speaker 5: at teams like the three worst ATS teams over the
- 16:29Speaker 5: last three years, and it shouldn't surprise you that it's
- 16:31Speaker 5: Tennessee 16-34-1, Atlanta 19-31-1, and Joe Ranieri, that's probably why
- 16:38Speaker 5: he's not here right now, the New York Jets 20-30-1.
- 16:41Speaker 5: When neither teams are winning at least 50% of their
- 16:45Speaker 5: ATS bets, and you're going to need a lot more
- 16:47Speaker 5: if you're paying even low VIG of 105 or 108
- 16:51Speaker 5: on these games with the spread. Their bet against teams,
- 16:54Speaker 5: especially if they haven't improved. You look at last season,
- 16:58Speaker 5: Seattle and the Rams, arguably, and I think I can
- 17:03Speaker 5: say it's 12-5 last year, 70.6%. The two best teams
- 17:08Speaker 5: in the NFL. Unfortunately, they had to play both in
- 17:11Speaker 5: the Western Conference and then Jacksonville. It was one of
- 17:14Speaker 5: those years where Trevor Lawrence played outside his skin. Had
- 17:17Speaker 5: a great season. They went 12-4-1, 75%. And these are
- 17:22Speaker 5: teams that in the offseason either got a little bit better.
- 17:26Speaker 5: So the uptick is you bet on the teams that
- 17:28Speaker 5: are getting better, ATS, the trajectory of them. And the
- 17:32Speaker 5: ones that are continuously struggling each and every year, you
- 17:36Speaker 5: go against them. I will post a little later on
- 17:39Speaker 5: on the X, so follow me there. But teams, you
- 17:42Speaker 5: look at a team like Tennessee, and you haven't made
- 17:44Speaker 5: any money the last three seasons if you just blindly
- 17:47Speaker 5: bet on them. 7-9-1, 2-15 two years ago, 7-10 last year. Atlanta,
- 17:50Speaker 5: just go through the last three.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Atlanta, 5-12, 6-11, 8-8-1.
- 17:52Speaker 3: So 8-8-1, you're still losing VIG. And the Jets, 6-10-1, 6-11, 8-9.
- 17:54Speaker 5: There is no season with those three teams where you
- 17:56Speaker 5: could have made money betting on them. I would venture
- 18:13Speaker 5: to guess even some of the teams that are like eight,
- 18:15Speaker 5: eight and one, you, you don't want to bet against
- 18:17Speaker 5: them because you're not making money either. But yeah, my
- 18:20Speaker 5: question here is for art now. And then two futures
- 18:24Speaker 5: that I like, and I'll mention art from a sports
- 18:29Speaker 5: managers and line makers perspective, teams like Tennessee, Atlanta, the
- 18:35Speaker 5: New York jets to have a horrible ATS records. Is
- 18:40Speaker 5: it baked into the line? each and every year and
- 18:43Speaker 5: can you still make money off of it or do
- 18:45Speaker 5: you just assume that books are are going to be
- 18:48Speaker 5: like well tennessee's the worst team let's just bet against
- 18:50Speaker 5: them well the.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Low level teams i think it is but i remember
- 18:54Speaker 4: last year you know we all out of the gate
- 18:57Speaker 4: thought maybe new orleans was going to be one of
- 18:59Speaker 4: the worst teams in the league and they had some
- 19:00Speaker 4: really inflated spreads and i remember maybe coming on this
- 19:04Speaker 4: show the first three four five weeks And every week
- 19:07Speaker 4: the Sharps were betting New Orleans. So it's like one
- 19:11Speaker 4: of those things where maybe even sometimes where the bad teams,
- 19:14Speaker 4: the number gets inflated a little bit. That's when sharp
- 19:17Speaker 4: players look to say, well, you know, that's a little
- 19:20Speaker 4: bit above what my number is. Let me take it
- 19:22Speaker 4: because obviously betting the NFL, it's all about the number
- 19:25Speaker 4: you get. Public's always just going to go against bad teams, Jets, Titans,
- 19:29Speaker 4: all these teams you mentioned. who are bad teams, and
- 19:32Speaker 4: they might not even be looking at their ATS numbers.
- 19:34Speaker 4: They're just saying, well, this is one of the worst
- 19:36Speaker 4: teams in the league. I'm going to bet against them.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So you get that all day from the public when
- 19:40Speaker 4: they're betting the NFL.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Lawrence, can I jump in with one more question
- 19:46Speaker 3: for him?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Dude, talk.
- 19:48Speaker 3: All right. Awesome. Yeah, no.
- 19:50Speaker 5: So, you know, looking at something like, and I think
- 19:54Speaker 5: I mentioned this pre-show, a team like Tampa Bay, from
- 19:59Speaker 5: a betting perspective, you look at them and they're like, okay, well,
- 20:01Speaker 5: their spread on the season was five and 12 last year,
- 20:05Speaker 5: nine and eight the year before. a bounce back season
- 20:08Speaker 5: coming for them. But do you shy away from betting
- 20:11Speaker 5: a team like Tampa Bay at home when you find
- 20:14Speaker 5: out that they were one in seven against the spread
- 20:16Speaker 5: the previous year? Or do you just put what happened
- 20:18Speaker 5: last year, which may be affected by injuries to wide
- 20:22Speaker 5: receivers or offensive line or the QB? Do you put
- 20:25Speaker 5: that behind you and go off of how you think
- 20:29Speaker 5: their power ranking is moving into this new season?
- 20:34Speaker 4: Well, I think you have to put it behind you
- 20:36Speaker 4: a little bit. I mean, you keep it in the
- 20:37Speaker 4: back of your mind, but obviously it's a new season.
- 20:40Speaker 4: It's a fresh new power rankings. And then obviously those
- 20:43Speaker 4: will be adjusted week to week because obviously the NFL
- 20:45Speaker 4: is a week to week sport where they only play
- 20:47Speaker 4: 17 games. So obviously every week there can be a
- 20:50Speaker 4: big adjustment in your power ranking. So that's the way
- 20:53Speaker 4: you have to approach every new football season.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Okay, boys, let's get to our college football week zero,
- 21:00Speaker 1: and then Art and I will do an MLB rundown. Art,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm going to give you a first half bet in
- 21:09Speaker 1: college football. And listen, let me bottom line this right now.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I think this is Bill Belichick's last year in the
- 21:16Speaker 1: public eye. I think this is Bill Belichick's last year
- 21:19Speaker 1: as a coach. And I think Bill Belichick loses on Saturday.
- 21:24Speaker 1: With that said, I'm mostly interested in the first half bet,
- 21:26Speaker 1: TCU minus three and a half. This game is in Dublin.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I do not believe in what Bill Belichick is doing there.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I don't think his personality is right for the college ranks.
- 21:38Speaker 1: The team struggled last year. The team's going to struggle
- 21:40Speaker 1: this year. And I think TCU comes into this with
- 21:44Speaker 1: a well-organized, you know, this is a team that is
- 21:47Speaker 1: bringing back a lot of their players. This is a
- 21:49Speaker 1: team that is ready for the season. I think they
- 21:53Speaker 1: win the game outright, but the better bet is first half.
- 21:56Speaker 1: It's minus three and a half. I think they win
- 21:59Speaker 1: by more than seven, which gives us a window. TCU,
- 22:03Speaker 1: minus three and a half, first half bet. What do
- 22:05Speaker 1: you got for us, Art?
- 22:07Speaker 4: It's one that I lean towards, but I'd rather wait
- 22:11Speaker 4: till the team total comes out. But I lean the
- 22:12Speaker 4: USC over in their game against San Jose State, but
- 22:16Speaker 4: I'd rather wait till the USC team total comes out.
- 22:18Speaker 4: When that comes out, Lincoln Riley is going to look
- 22:20Speaker 4: to put up 60 in that game just by themselves.
- 22:24Speaker 4: And that's basically what your total is at. You know,
- 22:26Speaker 4: if you're going to get the USC team total between,
- 22:28Speaker 4: you know, 49 and a half and 50 and a
- 22:31Speaker 4: half in that range, I'd look to take the USC
- 22:34Speaker 4: team total when it comes out later in the week.
- 22:36Speaker 4: And that's probably something we'll discuss when we see those
- 22:38Speaker 4: numbers later in the week.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So I'm glad you mentioned USC because I wanted to
- 22:42Speaker 1: ask you a question about that. They are minus 38
- 22:46Speaker 1: and a half with a total of 60 and a half.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And those are correlated, correlated. Very rarely do you get totals.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I mean, the spread is less than half. Imagine if
- 23:00Speaker 1: you had like, you know, the Detroit Lions minus seven
- 23:04Speaker 1: against the New Orleans Saints in week one with a
- 23:06Speaker 1: total of 17. That's what that is. That's the equivalent. Carm,
- 23:14Speaker 1: jump in if you have anything to add here, but
- 23:16Speaker 1: do you see a correlation with the over and the favorite?
- 23:21Speaker 1: the dog and the under, uh, is there any way
- 23:24Speaker 1: we could parlay those two together to give us a
- 23:28Speaker 1: two to 2.6 to one winner, uh, given how correlated
- 23:32Speaker 1: that total and spread is.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Um, uh, books allow still correlated parlays.
- 23:39Speaker 5: They didn't have one time, but no, normally when he's big, yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 5: you would see like a team favorite by 51 in
- 23:47Speaker 5: the total is like 54 and a half.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:49Speaker 5: They're essentially giving the other team a three points to
- 23:53Speaker 5: score there. Uh, it, I think it just depends on
- 23:56Speaker 5: kind of like what, uh, Art was saying, uh, the
- 23:59Speaker 5: coaching staff, do you take, uh, do you take your
- 24:01Speaker 5: foot off the, uh, off the pedal at some point and, uh,
- 24:05Speaker 5: just run the ball and, uh, keep everyone basically injury-free
- 24:10Speaker 5: for the games that actually matter in the third and
- 24:13Speaker 5: fourth quarters.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I wouldn't.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Yeah, because San Jose, they'll have the back door open
- 24:21Speaker 4: late in that game.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why I'm thinking, like, can they put
- 24:25Speaker 1: up 21, right? Can they put up 24? And I
- 24:29Speaker 1: don't think USC is rolling out some world-beating defense here.
- 24:34Speaker 3: No.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So... Uh, that'll be interesting to look at.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Let's get into our MLB rundown and then we're going
- 24:42Speaker 1: to do our mailbag section. Hit the like button, subscribe
- 24:45Speaker 1: to our channel art. Let's race through it. Detroit plus
- 24:50Speaker 1: one 15 against Tampa Bay, seven and a half. Where
- 24:53Speaker 1: are you going?
- 24:56Speaker 4: I had Tampa yesterday in the parlay of the day.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Detroit's a mess. I honestly don't think they're that good.
- 25:01Speaker 4: You got to go with Tampa at home on a
- 25:03Speaker 4: short price.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I like Boston here on the road against Miami. I'd
- 25:08Speaker 1: prefer to take them on the run line.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I'm with you on that. I listen.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I think you had them yesterday too, in the parlay
- 25:20Speaker 4: of the day. So, you know, obviously Boston had a
- 25:22Speaker 4: nice comeback. Miami's still fighting for their lives, but you know,
- 25:25Speaker 4: it's gotta be Boston or nothing.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Colorado and Washington, anything there?
- 25:32Speaker 4: No, I mean, Washington spent Colorado last night. Obviously, the
- 25:35Speaker 4: total went over. Washington usually really, really good on the road.
- 25:38Speaker 4: This game obviously is not on the road. It'd be
- 25:43Speaker 4: a pass for me.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Maybe a slight lean towards Washington.
- 25:46Speaker 1: A potential playoff matchup in the future. Houston and the Yankees.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Warren against Pecco. Minus 140 for the home Yankees. Where
- 25:56Speaker 1: are you going?
- 25:57Speaker 4: I wouldn't want to lay minus 140 with Warren. He
- 26:00Speaker 4: has not been that good. I would take a shot
- 26:02Speaker 4: with Houston plus money.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Carm likes Lugo in Kansas City to get it done
- 26:07Speaker 1: against Toronto. Scherzer on the mound. I'd look to the
- 26:10Speaker 1: over here. Because, well, Scherzer's on the mound. Carm, you
- 26:15Speaker 1: want to jump in?
- 26:17Speaker 5: Yeah, and Lugo's allowed, like, his last three starts, five, five,
- 26:21Speaker 5: and three earned runs. So it's not like, even though
- 26:25Speaker 5: they're 9-1 their last 10, it's not like he's been
- 26:27Speaker 5: one of their lights-out pitchers, right? So it just goes
- 26:31Speaker 5: to show you that they're scoring runs.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah, well, 9-1 to the over. So, yeah, Art, thoughts
- 26:37Speaker 1: on the total in that game?
- 26:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I can't disagree with you guys. I
- 26:41Speaker 4: had mentioned in our sharp plays that the Sharps are
- 26:43Speaker 4: on the Blue Jays, but that's no surprise.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Art, I refuse to take the Mets, but I'm not
- 26:48Speaker 1: betting Milwaukee at such juice. It just won't happen. This
- 26:51Speaker 1: is an outright pass for me. What do you like?
- 26:55Speaker 2: No, I'm with you. It's hard to lay those type
- 26:56Speaker 2: of numbers.
- 26:57Speaker 4: I think if you look at anything, maybe you look
- 26:59Speaker 4: at Milwaukee team total over.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Glasgow at minus 150. That's pretty short. They're playing Atlanta
- 27:07Speaker 1: Elder on the mound. Where are you going?
- 27:10Speaker 2: I actually like Atlanta.
- 27:11Speaker 4: I think Atlanta is going to find a way to
- 27:13Speaker 4: get back in the groove here. I'll take a shot
- 27:15Speaker 4: with them at the plus price.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I told you I like the White Sox to get
- 27:18Speaker 1: it done. Revenge from last night. They're playing Texas. What
- 27:22Speaker 1: do you like?
- 27:25Speaker 4: Texas, the Sharps are on them, as I mentioned. So,
- 27:28Speaker 4: you know, that is something to just keep your eye on. Texas, though,
- 27:31Speaker 4: has just not been that good. I can't back Texas.
- 27:34Speaker 4: I don't understand how the Sharps are backing them either.
- 27:36Speaker 1: St. Louis and Baltimore, anything?
- 27:40Speaker 4: No, that's a big series for both because both are
- 27:42Speaker 4: still in the thick of it here. I would lean Baltimore.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to bet the Angels ever.
- 27:48Speaker 1: You know my feeling on that horrible organization. But Cleveland
- 27:51Speaker 1: at minus 140, no chance.
- 27:55Speaker 4: No, you'd have to take a shot with the Angels
- 27:57Speaker 4: or just pass that game.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Arizona and the Cubs, even money eight and a half.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Arizona needs this game. They got smacked last night. I
- 28:07Speaker 4: believe the score was 7-0. They're starting to fade a
- 28:09Speaker 4: little bit here. Arizona needs the game in the worst way.
- 28:12Speaker 4: And as you said, basically you had to pick them.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Dude, I lost with Philly last night. Seattle with an
- 28:17Speaker 1: outstanding performance. Kirby versus Nola. I think Philly gets it
- 28:21Speaker 1: done tonight. What do you think?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Philly probably in a bounce back here.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Minnesota against the A's. Too much juice for me on Minnesota.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I won't touch the A's.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like the game did last night over, I would
- 28:34Speaker 2: look over.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah. San Diego and Pittsburgh, a minus 118. King versus Skeens.
- 28:40Speaker 1: You like San Diego. You mentioned it already.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I do. I like going against Skeens.
- 28:46Speaker 1: And Cincinnati against San Fran. Where are you going here?
- 28:50Speaker 4: Cincinnati probably in a bounce back. I don't think they
- 28:53Speaker 4: scored any runs last night. I'd maybe look for a
- 28:55Speaker 4: Cincinnati team total over.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Awesome. Carm, excited to have you guys. We've got a
- 29:02Speaker 1: Small announcement to make. Puck Time will be back this year, Carm.
- 29:08Speaker 1: You're going to be the host of the show. It'll
- 29:11Speaker 1: be basically the same as it's been, one of the
- 29:13Speaker 1: most successful shows on Wager Talk. But the big announcement
- 29:17Speaker 1: is I will be much more involved this year on
- 29:19Speaker 1: Wager Talk. So for all you people who hate on me, yes.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And for all you people who love on me, yes. Okay.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Let's get to the comment section of yesterday's show. No
- 29:32Speaker 1: sharp plays yesterday, Art. That was on me completely. I
- 29:35Speaker 1: totally screwed that up. So my apologies.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I put him in the chat, though.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Anyone who asked, I put him in the chat.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Yep. Yep. We got corrected on Tyler Shuck's name. It's
- 29:45Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck, as in shocking oysters.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Great.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Could care less. We're going to go with Tyler's show regardless.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Show me the dough.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, well, whatever. I don't care about people's freaking last names.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Carmine knows my real last name. Yeah? Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 5: I actually looked up how to pronounce his name prior
- 30:08Speaker 5: to the show because one of my futures is New
- 30:11Speaker 5: Orleans under seven and a half. And if Tyler Shuck
- 30:14Speaker 5: gets injured, they're just not going to win another game.
- 30:17Speaker 5: He's the only chance they pretty much have of winning
- 30:20Speaker 5: a few games. Seven and a half just seems like
- 30:22Speaker 5: a high number.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Okay, so then another person wrote, Prez, a Prez and
- 30:29Speaker 1: a genius. Yes, Dave Doobie, best sports show ever.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Thanks, Dave.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Appreciate you and appreciate your last name. They enjoyed the
- 30:38Speaker 1: opening episode when I basically called myself a genius. But Art,
- 30:44Speaker 1: here's some stuff. Not sure if the info is ready
- 30:49Speaker 1: out there, but I was listening to Art's segment once.
- 30:51Speaker 1: with Dustin on Visa the other night. Dustin said Art
- 30:55Speaker 1: was from WagerDog with no mention about the Westgate. Art,
- 31:00Speaker 1: you wanted to address that now or should.
- 31:02Speaker 3: We leave it?
- 31:04Speaker 2: No, I mean, listen, I don't think there's any surprise.
- 31:06Speaker 4: You know, we had talked, you know, months ago with
- 31:09Speaker 4: the Caesars takeover of the Westgate and, you know, obviously
- 31:11Speaker 4: there were going to be some changes. So there obviously
- 31:14Speaker 4: were changes in my life. So yes, I'm obviously no
- 31:17Speaker 4: longer affiliated with the Westgate and that's been, you know,
- 31:20Speaker 4: probably here over the last three or four weeks. And
- 31:23Speaker 4: obviously I took my talents to wager talk.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Um, listen, I've always, I will say this.
- 31:29Speaker 4: I've always been associated with you guys, you know, in
- 31:32Speaker 4: one form or the other, but now I'm really truly
- 31:35Speaker 4: part of the team. And obviously there will be more
- 31:37Speaker 4: information coming down the road here, but yeah, I mean,
- 31:40Speaker 4: I think, you know, when I've gone on some appearances since,
- 31:43Speaker 4: you know, my departure from the Westgate, obviously I'm not
- 31:46Speaker 4: going to say I'm affiliated with the Westgate cause I'm not. So, Yes,
- 31:50Speaker 4: whoever that listener was who did see my appearance on Visa,
- 31:53Speaker 4: and he is correct that I am no longer affiliated
- 31:56Speaker 4: with the Westgate, and I am pretty much, you can
- 31:59Speaker 4: call me Mr.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Wager Talk now.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Which we absolutely... He's a national treasure. Come on, just
- 32:07Speaker 3: admit it, Lawrence. We're happy to have him in our lives.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Which nation?
- 32:13Speaker 3: Doesn't matter.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Dual citizenship.
- 32:15Speaker 1: National treasure... He is. Okay.
- 32:20Speaker 3: International.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Okay. Carm, yesterday I mentioned that I did not understand
- 32:27Speaker 1: how gridiron became football, given that they don't use their feet.
- 32:33Speaker 1: My question to you is, what is the official name
- 32:38Speaker 1: of soccer? Like the actual name, like Is it soccer
- 32:43Speaker 1: or is it football? Because FIFA does not use the,
- 32:47Speaker 1: it's not FISA. It's FIFA. So is it football or
- 32:53Speaker 1: is it soccer? What is the official name?
- 32:57Speaker 3: Okay. So the official name should really be football. Throughout Europe.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Should.
- 33:03Speaker 5: And South America and the African countries, they call it
- 33:08Speaker 5: football or football, a shorter version. It is the English,
- 33:14Speaker 5: the UK, who came up with the name of soccer.
- 33:19Speaker 3: The UK.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Did they not invent the sport?
- 33:22Speaker 3: What we call it in North America. Who invented soccer?
- 33:27Speaker 1: Who invented it?
- 33:30Speaker 5: Who invented soccer? uh, probably someone who didn't like a
- 33:33Speaker 5: lot of scoring. So, um, but that said, I don't
- 33:37Speaker 5: know the originator of soccer. I would love to say
- 33:39Speaker 5: it was Pele. Uh, but, uh, he was, he was
- 33:43Speaker 5: the first one to show his, uh, his, his talents.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I'm sure you're looking it up right now. Uh, Lawrence, but.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Uh, What is the official name of soccer? I have
- 33:55Speaker 1: typed in The official name is Association Football. What?
- 34:02Speaker 2: What? What the hell? I never heard that.
- 34:04Speaker 1: And it originated in England. The word soccer actually originated
- 34:11Speaker 1: in England as an abbreviation of Association Football. It's a
- 34:16Speaker 1: clear abbreviation. I can see it. Association Football Soccer.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Of course. Yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 5: But for the best part, like you go to England
- 34:30Speaker 5: and your friend tells you to get the torch out
- 34:32Speaker 5: of the boot. Do you know what you're supposed to do?
- 34:35Speaker 1: I do because I am South African. So I am
- 34:39Speaker 1: clearly familiar with the boot. Okay. That's the show. Lots
- 34:44Speaker 1: of love, everyone. I guess no Joe Ranieri, man. He
- 34:47Speaker 1: must be busy art. Woman number eight, I'm thinking.
- 34:52Speaker 4: We got to come up with a song for him
- 34:54Speaker 4: this year.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Oh, we need a Joe Ranieri song, that's for sure.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Guys, thanks for watching, everyone. We'll see you guys tomorrow.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Best of luck. Remember, it's Customer Appreciation Tuesday. Any handicap
- 35:07Speaker 1: are over at our website. Their play, five bucks. See
- 35:11Speaker 1: you tomorrow.
