- 0:41Speaker 4: We got chances to go to Disneyland.
- 0:43Speaker 6: Yay!
- 0:43Speaker 3: That is good news.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Today. So that's always good news. Yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 5: The bad news is, well, if you're a Cowboys fan,
- 0:48Speaker 5: and most of us are, then yesterday sucked.
- 0:51Speaker 4: But we'll get into that in a little bit. It's
- 0:52Speaker 4: all good. Candace Lopez, how are you?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I'm okay.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I'm okay.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I've been up since 1245 or something-ish this morning. I
- 0:59Speaker 3: don't know. I woke up in the middle of the night.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I'd already been asleep.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And just stayed up?
- 1:02Speaker 3: For a couple hours. I just couldn't go back to sleep. Yes. So,
- 1:06Speaker 3: you know, it takes a lot for me. I'm sitting there.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I tried not to get on my phone. You know,
- 1:10Speaker 3: once I commit to it, I'm too far up. I
- 1:13Speaker 3: got to check my phone. Then I was on my
- 1:15Speaker 3: phone checking who knows what doom scrolling. And then I look,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it's one, it's two, it's three. I finally doze off
- 1:21Speaker 3: about three Oh five.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Oh, There's no point.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I almost even posted a poll right before
- 1:28Speaker 3: I did that. Like, is there even a point to
- 1:29Speaker 3: try to go to sleep at this point?
- 1:31Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 1:31Speaker 4: That's usually when I get up.
- 1:33Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Well, I got up at 3.30. I dozed off for
- 1:36Speaker 3: about 10 minutes, woke up at 3.30.
- 1:37Speaker 4: You almost made it worse.
- 1:39Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I probably did. But I was like, is there a
- 1:42Speaker 3: nice coffee shop open in the middle of the night
- 1:44Speaker 3: I could just go to?
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a couple, I think, in downtown Dallas.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I couldn't find one.
- 1:48Speaker 7: I looked.
- 1:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 4: You were going to leave and go.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah. I chat GPT to like coffee shops open in
- 1:54Speaker 3: Dallas like this time of day. And I couldn't find
- 1:57Speaker 3: anything but Dunkin.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Cafe Brazil or something like that.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't think of Cafe Brazil. I put in
- 2:03Speaker 3: coffee shops and not like, you know, restaurants, cafes.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Really trying to go to Deep Element 3 a.m.
- 2:09Speaker 1: No, absolutely.
- 2:09Speaker 7: Suspect.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I don't know if I want to do that.
- 2:12Speaker 7: But it's okay.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I had a good weekend. I went to the Savannah
- 2:14Speaker 3: Bananas game.
- 2:15Speaker 4: That looked fun.
- 2:16Speaker 3: It was so fun. Yeah, Enzo had a blast.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Okay, well, good.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And we did finish the walk.
- 2:22Speaker 3: We did.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Corny dog walk.
- 2:23Speaker 5: I'm going to give you the full recap on that
- 2:24Speaker 5: at 6.50 because a lot went down, but it was
- 2:27Speaker 5: super fun.
- 2:27Speaker 4: It was awesome.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 5: We had such a good time. Everyone showed up, and
- 2:31Speaker 5: it was just great. It was incredible.
- 2:33Speaker 4: So, yeah, but we'll definitely have to give a full
- 2:35Speaker 4: recap of what happened and how far Pooh made it,
- 2:37Speaker 4: how far Candace made it. if you weren't following online.
- 2:40Speaker 4: But that was just an amazing time.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It was.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Well, good. I'm glad you got a good time at
- 2:45Speaker 4: the Savannah Bananas game.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you.
- 2:47Speaker 4: And your legs don't hurt?
- 2:48Speaker 7: No.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:49Speaker 3: No, do your legs hurt?
- 2:51Speaker 4: No, a little bit.
- 2:52Speaker 7: Okay.
- 2:53Speaker 4: We'll talk about that at 6.50. Producer Poole, how are you?
- 2:55Speaker 2: I'm pretty good. Yesterday, my sister treated me to Nice.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So I went and got my toes done.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Nice.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And nobody was in there, and I got to watch
- 3:07Speaker 2: the game, and then I got depressed. Of course. After
- 3:11Speaker 2: I saw the score.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Well, you watched the game there, or you finished the game?
- 3:16Speaker 5: You watched the entire game while getting a pedicure.
- 3:18Speaker 2: No, I watched probably until about the third quarter, and
- 3:21Speaker 2: then I walked next door to Brass Tap and chilled
- 3:24Speaker 2: out there. But I was like, man, after they messed up,
- 3:28Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to just walk home.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yeah, which mess up?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, which time? Are you going to talk about this
- 3:33Speaker 4: in Texas Top Stories, Candace?
- 3:35Speaker 7: I am.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to give everybody a chance to vent
- 3:37Speaker 3: here in a few minutes.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Okay, good, because I'm still upset about it. Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I mean, you threw your TV in the pool.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Based on Instagram.
- 3:46Speaker 4: I did.
- 3:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Rough day.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I did throw my TV, and I think I hurt
- 3:50Speaker 4: my hand again.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 3:52Speaker 4: I threw my TV in the pool.
- 3:54Speaker 3: That would be why you hurt it.
- 3:55Speaker 4: The TV was not acting right anyway. Yeah. For whatever reason,
- 3:59Speaker 4: it was showing Dak throwing a nobody in the end zone.
- 4:01Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 7: That's odd.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I saw that, too.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You did?
- 4:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 4: So is your TV, too?
- 4:05Speaker 3: My TV's broken, too.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Oh, man. Throw it in the pool.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Okay.
- 4:10Speaker 9: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 4:13Speaker 9: Kid in the Morning.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9. We're the chance to
- 4:17Speaker 7: go to Disneyland.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Coming up next, we're going to do it on the
- 4:19Speaker 5: 10s all day. I mean, we pay for the airfare,
- 4:21Speaker 5: the hotel. We get you in. What an amazing trip.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Holidays at Disneyland?
- 4:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. The best. It's literally magical. Yeah. It really is.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Memories for a lifetime right there. Chance of wind coming
- 4:33Speaker 4: up next. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 4:34Speaker 3: Well, it's going to be warm to start the week.
- 4:36Speaker 3: We are so, so close to normal temperatures, though, guys. Okay,
- 4:39Speaker 3: so we have mid-90s today through Wednesday when we have
- 4:43Speaker 3: actual rain. Good chances of rain and thunderstorms Wednesday. That
- 4:46Speaker 3: brings cooler weather. Listen to this. Highs in the 80s.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Maybe by Friday, even 70s.
- 4:52Speaker 7: What?
- 4:52Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Fall is coming.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I am so excited. When I saw the high in
- 4:58Speaker 4: the 70s this.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Week, later this week.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Friday.
- 5:01Speaker 4: By Friday, rain and 70s. Bring it on. I know
- 5:04Speaker 4: that sounds crazy.
- 5:05Speaker 3: No, not at all.
- 5:06Speaker 4: But if you live here, you get it.
- 5:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 1: No, it's time.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I mean, we're going to be in October by then,
- 5:11Speaker 3: so it's time to get the fall vibes for sure.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Fingers crossed. Guys, awful day for Dallas sports yesterday. The Cowboys,
- 5:18Speaker 3: of course, losing to the Ravens 34 to 31 in
- 5:22Speaker 3: that final second of the game in Brazil.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I can't even tell you how mad I am.
- 5:27Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know why I expect anything different.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I'm so I'm a fan for life. Is it still
- 5:34Speaker 4: our year? Yes, it is.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It is?
- 5:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it is. Candace, don't do this to me, Candace.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Okay, no, it's our year.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Come on, we're all in.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 5:43Speaker 5: But either way, my point is, what is going on?
- 5:46Speaker 5: We have two of the best receivers in football, right?
- 5:50Speaker 5: One is wide open at the end.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Wide open.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Why does Dak throw it 20 yards over his head?
- 5:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:58Speaker 5: And then everybody's going off of the coach because he said, well,
- 6:01Speaker 5: they made the call to throw it away. But in
- 6:02Speaker 5: the press conference, I heard him say, I said basically
- 6:06Speaker 5: on the call, either throw it away or go to GP,
- 6:09Speaker 5: meaning like throw it to George Pickens. But if you
- 6:11Speaker 5: don't have that throw, then throw it away because we
- 6:13Speaker 5: don't want it to get intercepted.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Well, duh. That's what you always do. But we had
- 6:16Speaker 3: GP open.
- 6:17Speaker 2: He was wide open.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I know. It almost looked like we can't let this
- 6:24Speaker 4: game end this way. Let's do it like this.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 5: It just doesn't make any sense to me. And then
- 6:29Speaker 5: when we kick it off back to him. We're scared
- 6:32Speaker 5: they're going to run it back, so we kick it
- 6:34Speaker 5: off the end zone and leave seven seconds on the clock?
- 6:36Speaker 7: Right.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Worst call ever.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Kick it to the five-yard line, pin them down with
- 6:41Speaker 5: your special teams, and we're good.
- 6:43Speaker 2: The game's over.
- 6:44Speaker 3: We're so good.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 7: No.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Really awful loss. I posted yesterday in my stories, like,
- 6:49Speaker 3: what was Dak throwing at? Who is he throwing to?
- 6:52Speaker 3: What's going on there? Thanks to everyone who responded saying, Casper, air, air,
- 6:58Speaker 3: more air.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Why not?
- 7:01Speaker 4: By the way, the last series, when we're on the
- 7:03Speaker 4: goal line, pretty much, why not run it in?
- 7:05Speaker 7: Right.
- 7:06Speaker 2: One play.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Let's run the ball in. We do three plays, four
- 7:11Speaker 4: awful plays in a row.
- 7:12Speaker 3: If we're first in goal, we score a touchdown.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:15Speaker 2: You have to. There's just no answer.
- 7:16Speaker 7: That's it. We score.
- 7:17Speaker 5: And when you sit there like Dak and everybody else
- 7:19Speaker 5: in the training camp and say, we have the best
- 7:21Speaker 5: offense in the NFL.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I expect it.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Yeah. Don't talk like that if you can't back it up.
- 7:27Speaker 3: No, 100%. I agree. By the way, the Cowboys game
- 7:29Speaker 3: also did delay the MTV VMAs last night by about
- 7:33Speaker 3: 20 minutes. Let's recap that show. Real winning happening on
- 7:36Speaker 3: that show. Madonna winning for Artist of the Year. BTS
- 7:40Speaker 3: won Song of the Year for Swim. Of course, Taylor
- 7:43Speaker 3: Swift debuted her new music video for Patient Zero and
- 7:45Speaker 3: also won for Video of the Year for The Fate
- 7:48Speaker 3: of Ophelia. You want to hear a little bit of
- 7:49Speaker 3: her acceptance?
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:51Speaker 6: I want to thank and dedicate... this award to one
- 7:54Speaker 6: person without whom just this wouldn't be happening. And that
- 7:59Speaker 6: person is the ultimate showgirl, Dolly Parton. Every single song
- 8:08Speaker 6: that she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid and so rich.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It was like.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Listening to her songs, it's like watching the best music
- 8:15Speaker 6: video you have ever seen in your life every single time.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Oh, that's amazing.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Aw, I know. A lot of love for Dolly last
- 8:21Speaker 3: night on the show. Taylor, by the way, now has
- 8:24Speaker 3: 33 VMAs, making her the most awarded artist in MTV
- 8:28Speaker 3: VMA history. Remember she and Beyonce were tied before that
- 8:30Speaker 3: with 30?
- 8:31Speaker 4: Yeah, did she just have more VMAs than the Cowboys
- 8:34Speaker 4: scored points?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 8:36Speaker 7: Anyway.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. Congrats to Taylor Swift. I'm Candace Lopez.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Another shot to go to Disneyland.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Coming up, we'll do it on the 10s pretty much
- 8:48Speaker 4: every hour, all day.
- 8:48Speaker 5: So make sure you listen if you want a trip
- 8:50Speaker 5: to Disneyland on us around the holidays, too.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yeah, they make it snow, too, on Main Street.
- 8:56Speaker 4: They do. It's so fun.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It's so perfect.
- 8:58Speaker 5: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. Let's
- 9:01Speaker 5: do it right now. First caller of the day. I
- 9:03Speaker 5: got tickets to go see Hilary Duff. We're doing it
- 9:05Speaker 5: all week, too.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Who's this?
- 9:06Speaker 3: This is Erin.
- 9:07Speaker 4: What's up, Erin? How are you?
- 9:08Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 9:08Speaker 10: How are you?
- 9:09Speaker 4: I'm good. Guess what? You're caller number one. Congratulations!
- 9:14Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 9:16Speaker 8: It's so exciting.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Woo!
- 9:18Speaker 10: Yay.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I'm going to give you the tickets. I was going
- 9:20Speaker 4: to ask you a trivia question and make you earn them,
- 9:22Speaker 4: but it's okay. You know what? Oh, God.
- 9:24Speaker 5: I was going to ask you if you could tell
- 9:26Speaker 5: me who Dak was throwing to last night.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I was going to give you the answer.
- 9:31Speaker 4: But don't worry about that. You won either way. You
- 9:34Speaker 4: won either way. So thank you, Erin.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Where are you from? I'm from Houston originally, but I've
- 9:40Speaker 2: lived here for like four years now.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 9:43Speaker 4: How do you like it?
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's good.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Do you miss the crime and police chases in Houston?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Oh, yes, yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I'm just kidding.
- 9:54Speaker 5: All right, well, Erin, thank you so much for listening.
- 9:55Speaker 4: That means a lot to us. You stay right there
- 9:57Speaker 4: so we can hook you up and enjoy the show.
- 9:58Speaker 4: All right, so thank you. Every time I go to Houston,
- 10:01Speaker 4: I swear I see a police chase.
- 10:02Speaker 3: You do?
- 10:03Speaker 4: Every single time.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Ryder and I, my son and I were going to
- 10:06Speaker 5: Galveston not too long ago, police chase on the way
- 10:09Speaker 5: back through Houston, passed us, almost hit us.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Every single time.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Wow, I've never seen one there.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Oh, well, just go.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 10:17Speaker 7: All right.
- 10:17Speaker 4: This time of the year, they're beautiful.
- 10:18Speaker 2: The police chases are beautiful.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Good to know.
- 10:21Speaker 4: In Houston this time of the year. And I think
- 10:23Speaker 4: Cowboys are playing the Texans.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah, Sunday.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Don't bring them up.
- 10:28Speaker 3: That should be a good game.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. I like the last seven seconds where we lose. Okay,
- 10:34Speaker 4: are you ready for real or fake news?
- 10:35Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Headline number one. Naked man rides scooter through Oklahoma. One
- 10:43Speaker 4: of these stories is fake. I'm going to give you three.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Naked man rides scooter through Oklahoma. Headline number one. Headline
- 10:49Speaker 4: number two.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Burglar returns to house hours later because he forgot his
- 10:54Speaker 5: phone inside. Burglar returns to house hours later because he
- 10:58Speaker 5: forgot his phone inside. Headline number three. 72-year-old man convicted
- 11:03Speaker 5: of stalking a Pokemon car delivery driver. 72-year-old man convicted
- 11:09Speaker 5: of stalking a Pokemon. Pokemon or man?
- 11:12Speaker 3: Pokemon.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Pokemon. Pokemon.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Delivery driver. Pokemon sounds weird.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Sounds very creepy.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's Pokemon.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Three headlines right there. You got to tell me which one.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Is the fake headline out of the three? Candace, you
- 11:27Speaker 5: know how it works. You can go first, ladies first,
- 11:29Speaker 5: or you could pass it to Pokemon Pooh.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 11:33Speaker 3: This one's hard today, so I'm just going to go
- 11:35Speaker 3: for it. Lock me in for that first story, the
- 11:37Speaker 3: naked scooter guy.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Oh, all right.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Naked man rides scooter through Oklahoma. You don't think that
- 11:42Speaker 5: would happen in Oklahoma? That's the most normal thing.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It's possible, but I don't think so.
- 11:46Speaker 7: No.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Let's lock it in. Thank you. She's locked in. Producer Pooh,
- 11:49Speaker 4: which one do you think is the fake story?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Lock me in for that second story. I don't think
- 11:53Speaker 2: nobody's that dumb to return to a house they already
- 11:57Speaker 2: broke into. Yeah, I mean, come on. Yeah, why would
- 11:59Speaker 2: you do that?
- 11:59Speaker 7: For your phone?
- 12:00Speaker 4: No. You've broken into some houses before.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I mean, when I was younger.
- 12:04Speaker 1: No, I'm not.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You know better.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Don't leave your phone. You can't leave your phone, man.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Let's lock it in.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Lock it in.
- 12:11Speaker 4: It is locked in. The winner today is.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Producer Pooh!
- 12:15Speaker 7: Hey!
- 12:21Speaker 9: There you go.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Now, did he do as good in the corny dog walk? Oh,
- 12:26Speaker 5: we'll discuss that at 650. That is the fake story, though.
- 12:30Speaker 5: You want burglar returns to house hours later to get
- 12:32Speaker 5: his phone. He forgot inside. That is a fake story.
- 12:34Speaker 5: The real stories. Naked man rides scooter.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Through Oklahoma.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I know Candace thought that was fake because you rode
- 12:42Speaker 4: a scooter through the walk for some of the time.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Some of the time, yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 4: And it would have been weird if you were naked.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yeah, very weird. Very, very weird.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I also hate, excuse me, I just died. What am I,
- 12:56Speaker 4: the Cowboys choking? Naked man rides scooter through Midwest Oklahoma.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I don't know what this guy's doing. 44-year-old Oklahoma man
- 13:06Speaker 4: is accused of riding an electric scooter.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Completely naked through a Midwest City neighborhood after midnight. Court
- 13:13Speaker 5: records say a homeowner spotted Jason Wise traveling through the
- 13:17Speaker 5: country estates area on September 5th and called police, while
- 13:20Speaker 5: a security camera captured a very unusual ride. Officers found
- 13:24Speaker 5: Wise several blocks away, but say he ran off and
- 13:27Speaker 5: hid when they told him to stop.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 13:31Speaker 5: After his arrest, body camera footage shows Wise telling officers
- 13:34Speaker 5: he was riding naked because he was bored.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Then he also added that he was drunk. Which was
- 13:40Speaker 4: the least surprising thing about the whole encounter.
- 13:43Speaker 5: He faces charges of outraging public indecency and obstructing an officer.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Okay.
- 13:48Speaker 3: See, like, how?
- 13:50Speaker 4: Why do people want to do that?
- 13:51Speaker 3: Well, drunk and bored is not a good combo.
- 13:53Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 13:55Speaker 4: But either is naked in a scooter.
- 13:57Speaker 7: No.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I just hate being naked. So the idea of getting
- 14:00Speaker 4: naked and riding an electric scooter?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 2: You can't do that.
- 14:03Speaker 3: It's better than him having to push all the way naked.
- 14:06Speaker 7: You know?
- 14:07Speaker 4: Okay, that's a good point.
- 14:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Yeah, because then you've got to move your legs.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just worse.
- 14:11Speaker 4: That's exhausting. If I'm going to be naked, let me
- 14:13Speaker 4: just endure the breeze.
- 14:15Speaker 2: All right, fair.
- 14:16Speaker 5: A 72-year-old man was convicted of GPS stalking a Pokemon
- 14:21Speaker 5: card delivery driver.
- 14:22Speaker 4: These things are out of control.
- 14:24Speaker 10: Okay.
- 14:25Speaker 5: Have you seen what people are doing? Because these Pokemon
- 14:27Speaker 5: cards can be worth a lot of money. So when
- 14:30Speaker 5: they get delivered places, you want to be there first, right?
- 14:33Speaker 5: Because obviously you want the first, I don't know, as
- 14:37Speaker 5: many as you can get.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Oh, to buy it?
- 14:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Oh, I see.
- 14:40Speaker 5: So this 72-year-old man, basically what he did is he
- 14:43Speaker 5: found the delivery driver and slapped a GPS tracker on
- 14:47Speaker 5: the car or the truck.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So then the driver was.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Like, found the device that it was attached to her
- 14:53Speaker 5: vehicle while dropping off packs of cards at a Walmart.
- 14:56Speaker 5: And she called the cops and this guy Kent was
- 14:58Speaker 5: arrested and charged with illegal use of a tracking device,
- 15:01Speaker 5: which is a criminal misdemeanor. Because he was trying to
- 15:04Speaker 5: get the good stuff, I guess. He was trying to
- 15:05Speaker 5: get the good Pokemon cards first.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Like, first pick.
- 15:08Speaker 4: He's 72.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Oh.
- 15:10Speaker 4: 72 years old. But some of these Pokemon cards go for,
- 15:12Speaker 4: I mean, thousands of dollars.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I don't understand that.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I don't get it either.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 4: But, I mean, we have people here that collect Pokemon cards.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Really? Yes.
- 15:20Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 15:21Speaker 2: And I'm just, I don't understand.
- 15:23Speaker 4: I don't know anything about them, but even Pooh says
- 15:25Speaker 4: he's got cards that are worth money.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, my oldest son. Chris has one that's worth, like,
- 15:29Speaker 2: what did he say?
- 15:30Speaker 7: $ 3, 500 now.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Huh.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Charizard. And then our boy Danny, he has a
- 15:35Speaker 2: $ 20, 000 one.
- 15:36Speaker 7: What?
- 15:37Speaker 6: Yes.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Our friend Danny has a $ 20, 000 Pokemon card.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yes, he does.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 15:41Speaker 2: How do you get that?
- 15:42Speaker 3: I have no idea. They'll just show up in Enzo's
- 15:44Speaker 3: backpack sometimes.
- 15:45Speaker 7: Really?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Just like a random Pokemon card.
- 15:47Speaker 2: You need to check them out.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:49Speaker 4: They could be worth money.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Check them out.
- 15:52Speaker 3: They're not in good shape, though.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Do I have some?
- 15:54Speaker 2: I think I have some. Yeah, you have some Pokemons
- 15:56Speaker 2: at your house. I don't know.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Check them.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I know what I'm doing when I get home. Either way,
- 16:02Speaker 4: there you go. So this guy was basically fined a
- 16:05Speaker 4: bunch of money, and now he's been placed on probation
- 16:09Speaker 4: because you can't slap a GPS. On somebody's truck so
- 16:12Speaker 4: you can get Charizard or Giggly Poof.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:16Speaker 3: What do you just call Walmart? What are y'all getting
- 16:18Speaker 3: the delivery of Pokemon cards?
- 16:19Speaker 4: Hey, when are you getting them? Oh, they're coming in
- 16:21Speaker 4: on Tuesday. Okay, I'll see you then. No, 72-year-old. Do
- 16:24Speaker 4: what most 72-year-old people do. What do they do?
- 16:25Speaker 2: Poo, what do you do? I'm not 72.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Another shot to go to Disneyland. Coming up, we'll do
- 16:32Speaker 4: it at 710. Do it on the 10s all day.
- 16:34Speaker 5: I mean, Disneyland Resort, we got you. We'll pay for it. Airfare,
- 16:39Speaker 5: a hotel. It's going to be beautiful during the holidays.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Make sure you listen and win. It's Mix 102.9 at
- 16:44Speaker 5: Bail It A Kid. Candice Lopez, Producer Poo. We could
- 16:47Speaker 5: be sad about the Cowboys or we could talk about
- 16:49Speaker 5: how amazing Friday was.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do that.
- 16:51Speaker 4: So let's talk about our corny dog walk, which to
- 16:53Speaker 4: go backwards, the first year we did this, which was
- 16:56Speaker 4: last year, it started off as a joke. And I
- 16:58Speaker 4: was like, you know what's going to make me feel better.
- 17:00Speaker 5: About life is we're going to walk to the fair
- 17:02Speaker 5: in corny dog outfits because then when I eat everything there.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I won't feel guilty.
- 17:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You've burned hundreds of calories.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So I mean, hundreds of calories. Who cares?
- 17:11Speaker 4: That's going to be a great way to do it.
- 17:12Speaker 5: And we're going to wear this corny dog outfit and
- 17:14Speaker 5: we'll give away some tickets on the way down there.
- 17:16Speaker 4: And it turned into a whole thing that year.
- 17:18Speaker 5: We gave away like a hundred tickets before we even
- 17:20Speaker 5: got to Royal lane.
- 17:21Speaker 10: Right.
- 17:21Speaker 5: And the walk itself is like 14 miles. So we're like,
- 17:24Speaker 5: let's do it again. So this year we're like, well, Hey,
- 17:26Speaker 5: let's make t-shirts. Let's do this. Let's make it bigger.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Let's tie in The fact that the State Fair of
- 17:31Speaker 5: Texas is an incredible nonprofit and try to raise some
- 17:34Speaker 5: money for them, which we did. And to me, that
- 17:37Speaker 5: was the best part about this all is we got
- 17:39Speaker 5: to get down to the fair opening day, which was awesome.
- 17:44Speaker 5: The walk, we got there quicker than I thought we
- 17:46Speaker 5: were going to get there.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we did.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Because Miss Candace over here was like, hey, she don't play.
- 17:52Speaker 4: We got to keep going.
- 17:53Speaker 1: We got to keep.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Well, let's make sure we stay on time. And I'm like,
- 17:55Speaker 5: you know what?
- 17:56Speaker 4: You're right.
- 17:56Speaker 5: So I think that's why we got there a little
- 17:58Speaker 5: bit quicker than last year. But we got to present
- 18:00Speaker 5: the State Fair of Texas with a $ 2, 000 check to
- 18:03Speaker 5: their nonprofit, all because of the t-shirts you bought. So
- 18:08Speaker 5: it wasn't even really us. We're just happy to kind
- 18:10Speaker 5: of facilitate it and make it happen. But you did it.
- 18:13Speaker 5: So thank you.
- 18:14Speaker 4: And next year, I told them we're going to triple that.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:17Speaker 3: That's a good goal.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And it's only going to get bigger and bigger. Next year,
- 18:20Speaker 5: we'll be more prepared. We'll have the t-shirts out earlier.
- 18:22Speaker 5: It's going to be awesome. But I was so happy
- 18:25Speaker 5: and just so impressed with everybody who came out. So-
- 18:27Speaker 5: I can't say thank you enough. I mean, we do
- 18:30Speaker 5: this for many reasons. Obviously, it's a job, but you
- 18:33Speaker 5: do stuff like that.
- 18:34Speaker 4: When you get to meet people and create moments with
- 18:37Speaker 4: you is what it's really all about to me.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we had so many kids and families that came out.
- 18:43Speaker 3: That made me so happy. Like Claire, her dad brought her.
- 18:45Speaker 3: It was her 18th birthday Friday.
- 18:47Speaker 7: Yes.
- 18:47Speaker 3: She wanted to go to the fair, so her dad
- 18:49Speaker 3: helped her find us. And then Madison and her mom, Madison,
- 18:53Speaker 3: saved my life by bringing frozen water bottles.
- 18:56Speaker 4: A frozen bottle of water.
- 18:58Speaker 7: So I could drink it.
- 18:58Speaker 3: It would melt. It stayed cold for so long. That
- 19:01Speaker 3: was so thoughtful.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Yeah, thank you, Madison. And there was a million of
- 19:04Speaker 5: those moments. I mean, as soon as we got out
- 19:07Speaker 5: of here, there was people waiting for us.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Chris was down there with gifts for us, cooling
- 19:12Speaker 3: towels for our necks.
- 19:13Speaker 2: She's awesome.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and Sahil was down there. I think my buddy's...
- 19:16Speaker 4: He was down there with Tito's ready to go.
- 19:18Speaker 2: He's like, drink up.
- 19:19Speaker 4: I love this guy.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I've never seen so much Pedialyte in my life. Just
- 19:23Speaker 3: people come with bags and bags of Gatorade, Pedialyte, Electrolyte.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Yes, it was so amazing. I mean, I think we
- 19:30Speaker 5: gave close to 500 tickets away.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, which is crazy.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:36Speaker 5: But it was awesome. It was so good to meet
- 19:38Speaker 5: so many people. I finished the walk. Of course I finished.
- 19:43Speaker 5: I don't think we knew.
- 19:44Speaker 7: Of course.
- 19:44Speaker 4: We knew I was going to be psycho enough to
- 19:46Speaker 4: finish it. Candice Lopez finished the walk.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Hey, can I get the air horn?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 19:52Speaker 8: She did.
- 19:52Speaker 2: You finished strong.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Candice Lopez came through. And you know what? You only
- 19:58Speaker 4: use the scooter like maybe 20% of the time.
- 20:00Speaker 8: If that.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Yeah, well, my ankle was getting beat up trying to
- 20:03Speaker 3: take it off and over curbs up and down and
- 20:06Speaker 3: spots where there weren't sidewalks. And I was like, this
- 20:08Speaker 3: is more trouble than it's worth. But then, you know,
- 20:10Speaker 3: we got down to Preston where there were really nice sidewalks.
- 20:14Speaker 3: You know, my pelvic floor was like after about 10
- 20:16Speaker 3: miles in. I was like, I got to rest this
- 20:19Speaker 3: pelvic floor because, you know, I haven't sat. the ladies
- 20:22Speaker 3: know what i'm saying so.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Should we yeah no i get no it's totally understandable
- 20:26Speaker 5: that's why i said hey do what you got to do.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Yeah but i was on a push scooter people thought
- 20:29Speaker 3: i was on an e-scooter no i was pushing and
- 20:32Speaker 3: then gliding for a little bit here and.
- 20:33Speaker 5: There you were pushing through yeah you made it happen
- 20:36Speaker 5: and you had a bluetooth i needed you there for
- 20:38Speaker 5: support it was perfect.
- 20:40Speaker 3: So speaker on my backpack.
- 20:42Speaker 5: We had a support vehicle thank you to amanda who
- 20:45Speaker 5: was driving our support vehicle. And, of course, Zan was
- 20:47Speaker 5: here at the headquarters checking in. And she was live
- 20:50Speaker 5: the whole day, all day. So, I mean, it was
- 20:52Speaker 5: a lot. Now, how many people were thinking Pooh was
- 20:55Speaker 5: going to make it all the way through? There were
- 20:56Speaker 5: some people that voted he was going to make it
- 20:58Speaker 5: all the way this year. Last year, he made it
- 21:00Speaker 5: 8.7 miles. Do we want to reveal how many miles
- 21:03Speaker 5: Pooh made it?
- 21:03Speaker 7: 9.3.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Okay. All right. 9.3. No, no horn for that. No horn.
- 21:11Speaker 4: No horn. We'll get like a.
- 21:14Speaker 3: It was hot. To be fair, it was super hot.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yes, it was.
- 21:18Speaker 3: So it wasn't like a nice fall day by any means.
- 21:21Speaker 3: It wasn't comfortable at all.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Should we give him a golf clap? Slow clap? I
- 21:26Speaker 2: was trying to push through. I was like, I can
- 21:28Speaker 2: do it. I can do it.
- 21:29Speaker 4: No, we were worried.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And then once I stopped, I stopped. I downed some water.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Then I downed some Pedialyte. And I was like, yeah,
- 21:36Speaker 2: let's go. Let's go. And then Billy looked at me.
- 21:38Speaker 2: He's like, bro. Don't try to be a hero.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Because he looked bad.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Well, yeah, because I looked at you and I was like,
- 21:43Speaker 3: he hasn't even said a word in.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Like 35 minutes.
- 21:46Speaker 3: We probably need to like cool it.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Well, he was behind us and he wasn't catching up.
- 21:51Speaker 5: And then I looked back and I'm like, he's not talking.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:55Speaker 4: We haven't heard anything from him in at least 30,
- 21:58Speaker 4: 45 minutes.
- 21:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 21:59Speaker 4: At what point is he just going to pass out?
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I didn't want to happen.
- 22:03Speaker 4: No, and I didn't either. So either way, yeah, 9.1.
- 22:06Speaker 2: You gave it a good effort. Yeah, it was cool.
- 22:09Speaker 4: I don't know if it was worth brand new shoes.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I got clowned online. You got some brand new shoes.
- 22:16Speaker 2: You're supposed to break them in first before you do
- 22:18Speaker 2: the walk. Now, I did get two people that, his
- 22:22Speaker 2: name's Devin and his wife, Tangela. They said, they're trainers.
- 22:27Speaker 2: They said they do 5Ks and all that all the time.
- 22:31Speaker 2: They said they will personally train me for free if
- 22:35Speaker 2: I'm willing to do it, put in the work. Well,
- 22:37Speaker 2: you had a year. They were like, I don't know.
- 22:41Speaker 4: I mean, last year he said, I'm going to finish
- 22:44Speaker 4: no matter what. This year I'm finishing no matter what.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I was. And then right down as we were going
- 22:49Speaker 2: down Preston toward the end, I knew as soon as
- 22:51Speaker 2: we passed that church, as soon as we passed that
- 22:54Speaker 2: church and we stopped for a little bit and we
- 22:56Speaker 2: passed that church and it was like, Jesus came out
- 22:59Speaker 2: that church and said, my son, You need to go
- 23:02Speaker 2: sit down.
- 23:03Speaker 4: No.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Billy and Candace handled.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I almost sent you into that church. I actually stopped
- 23:09Speaker 4: to pray for your knees.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:12Speaker 4: They were wobbly.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 3: They were.
- 23:14Speaker 4: But you know what? You did the best you could.
- 23:16Speaker 4: That's all that matters.
- 23:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 4: And thank you to the State Fair of Texas and
- 23:20Speaker 4: everybody who came through because you made it so special
- 23:23Speaker 4: and bigger than I even imagined it was ever going
- 23:26Speaker 4: to be.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yep.
- 23:27Speaker 5: And now we're going to do it again next year.
- 23:29Speaker 5: I want to raise triple the money for the fair
- 23:31Speaker 5: and all the stuff they do in their nonprofits.
- 23:33Speaker 4: We're going to have another T-shirt. Matter of fact, I
- 23:35Speaker 4: think we're going to do a T-shirt for Suffabus that
- 23:37Speaker 4: we have coming up.
- 23:38Speaker 5: And I think Pooh's going to make it 9.3 miles
- 23:41Speaker 5: next year. We're going to do what happens.
- 23:44Speaker 4: We're only going to have to do this for 20
- 23:45Speaker 4: years before he finishes it.
- 23:48Speaker 8: Right.
- 23:49Speaker 5: So, I mean, hey, either way, it was awesome. We
- 23:51Speaker 5: raised a lot of money. We did some incredible things,
- 23:53Speaker 5: and it was so fun meeting so many awesome people.
- 23:56Speaker 5: So thank you for coming through.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yes, thank you so much.
- 23:58Speaker 5: And there's a reel of us crossing the line and
- 24:01Speaker 5: celebrating all that good stuff at Mix 1029 FM. But
- 24:03Speaker 5: we appreciate you so much. You made it totally worth
- 24:06Speaker 5: it this year.
- 24:07Speaker 9: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 24:10Speaker 9: Kid in the morning.
- 24:11Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Got a chance to go to Disneyland coming up next.
- 24:16Speaker 5: We do it on the 10s all day, so make
- 24:17Speaker 5: sure you listen. Have that iHeartRadio app ready. Let's go
- 24:20Speaker 5: get this trip on us. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 24:23Speaker 3: Well, if you heard a bunch of screaming yesterday, aside
- 24:25Speaker 3: from during the Cowboys game, it was probably the Dallas
- 24:29Speaker 3: Scream Club. So they had a screaming event down by
- 24:32Speaker 3: the Trinity River yesterday. They just announced it a few
- 24:35Speaker 3: days ago. At least 250 people showed up just to
- 24:38Speaker 3: scream toward the Dallas skyline. You haven't heard this yet,
- 24:41Speaker 3: but listen.
- 24:42Speaker 4: No, I saw it.
- 24:43Speaker 8: Okay.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I saw it.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Three, two, one. Okay, that's enough.
- 24:54Speaker 3: This is like the new trend of these like scream events. Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 3: we're totally serious.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 25:00Speaker 3: People just lined up, you know, face downtown.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Me after every Cowboys game.
- 25:08Speaker 3: It sounds kind of fun. Honestly, I think we might
- 25:10Speaker 3: need to have one.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Me every Monday morning.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 25:15Speaker 4: I mean, really, would you go downtown to scream at
- 25:17Speaker 4: a skyline?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah, with a bunch of other people, with hundreds of people.
- 25:21Speaker 4: You would do it?
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I for sure would do it.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Okay, well, then I'll go with you, I guess.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I didn't know in enough time, or I would have
- 25:26Speaker 3: done it, because that looks so fun. They probably felt
- 25:28Speaker 3: so much better afterward.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Well, I saw the video, and they're on a hill,
- 25:31Speaker 4: and all I thought is, they're all getting chiggers.
- 25:33Speaker 7: Oh!
- 25:34Speaker 3: I heard there might be another one happening October 11th,
- 25:37Speaker 3: so I'm going to confirm that before we decide whether
- 25:40Speaker 3: or not we're going.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Are we going?
- 25:42Speaker 3: We might be. That's my mom's birthday, so I'll probably
- 25:44Speaker 3: be taking her to Choctaw.
- 25:45Speaker 7: Okay.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Well, I'll scream after Choctaw.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:49Speaker 8: Perfect.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:50Speaker 1: It's a very.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Interesting thing, though.
- 25:52Speaker 7: It is. It is.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Guys, also interesting, Instagram has launched its new premium feature,
- 25:57Speaker 3: Instagram Plus. So for $ 3. 99 a month, you can now
- 26:00Speaker 3: extend your stories so they're longer than 24 hours. There's
- 26:04Speaker 3: a story. You're in for that?
- 26:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing it.
- 26:07Speaker 7: Why?
- 26:07Speaker 5: You can also see who's creeping on you for $ 3. 99
- 26:09Speaker 5: a month.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Well, there's a story preview where you can also look
- 26:13Speaker 3: at someone's story without showing up on their view list.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it.
- 26:16Speaker 3: But that's like how people are going to creep more.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Well, either way, I'm paying the $ 3.
- 26:20Speaker 7: 99.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh. There's Instagram. Now you can pay $ 500
- 26:24Speaker 4: a month if you want certain features.
- 26:26Speaker 7: What?
- 26:26Speaker 4: There's a creator package, $ 500 a month.
- 26:28Speaker 2: For what are you getting?
- 26:31Speaker 4: I don't know what you're getting.
- 26:32Speaker 5: You're getting like, I mean, this is what sucks about
- 26:34Speaker 5: it is now you'll be able to post like links
- 26:36Speaker 5: in your stories or reels or your videos or something
- 26:39Speaker 5: where it's clickable in the caption. You have to pay
- 26:43Speaker 5: for it. There's levels to it. And eventually I feel
- 26:45Speaker 5: like that.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Should all be free.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Well, some people are saying these new
- 26:49Speaker 3: options only feed digital addiction and make creeping easier. But
- 26:52Speaker 3: on top of that, did you see the AI powered
- 26:54Speaker 3: feature that lets you blur like your partner's face?
- 26:57Speaker 4: Yep. Yep.
- 26:59Speaker 5: There's a there's a feature that allows you to blur
- 27:01Speaker 5: your new guy's face so they don't know who he is.
- 27:04Speaker 3: It's like a soft launch. Like, do we need that?
- 27:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Exactly. Real quick, guys, we got some potential casting news.
- 27:14Speaker 3: You probably want to save that clip for this because
- 27:16Speaker 3: you're going to be triggered by this.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Stop.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Casting news possibly for the Britney Spears biopic. A source
- 27:21Speaker 3: is saying, Cindy Sweeney is the leading contender to play Britney.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Why would I scream about that?
- 27:26Speaker 3: Because aren't you like a Cindy hater?
- 27:28Speaker 2: No, I'm not.
- 27:29Speaker 3: You're not?
- 27:30Speaker 1: No.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you were.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Why was I?
- 27:32Speaker 3: I thought you were the Cindy Sweeney's overrated. crowd no
- 27:36Speaker 3: okay my bad i.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Don't really have an opinion on her.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I just i might be confusing you with someone else.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I know why am i getting flamed uh it sounds.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Like she's in the running also along with millie bobby
- 27:47Speaker 3: brown and addison ray but when this project was announced
- 27:50Speaker 3: everyone was saying it was going to be sabrina carpenter that's.
- 27:52Speaker 5: What i thought too yeah i thought what about sabrina
- 27:54Speaker 5: i mean sydney would be great i mean she's you
- 27:56Speaker 5: know i don't know what kind of actress she is
- 27:57Speaker 5: because i'm not a i don't watch a lot of
- 27:59Speaker 5: stuff that she's been in yeah but i mean she
- 28:01Speaker 5: could pull it off i guess the look.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I guess yeah i guess so uh i feel like
- 28:06Speaker 3: tate mccray could crush it from a performing standpoint i
- 28:08Speaker 3: don't know if sydney can do the dancing and stuff.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah tate would kill it yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Okay anyway so well you want to play the scream
- 28:17Speaker 3: again or no you're not screaming.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Over i screamed enough last night with the cowboys i know.
- 28:20Speaker 3: My throat hurts I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas
- 28:23Speaker 3: Top Stories. It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid
- 28:27Speaker 3: in the morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by
- 28:29Speaker 3: Mint Dentistry.
- 28:30Speaker 5: It is time to confess. All right, Billy the Kid,
- 28:33Speaker 5: Candace Lopez is here.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Producer Poo is here. Your secrets.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Anytime you want, just bring them on, 833-787-1029. I always
- 28:42Speaker 5: get a little bit nervous, though, because people are like,
- 28:44Speaker 5: I'm the corny dog walk. Our kids love Dirty Little Secret.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, good. Well, I'll keep that in mind
- 28:50Speaker 4: when I get these secrets because sometimes.
- 28:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 4: But I love that. I'm telling you right now, one
- 28:55Speaker 4: of the best things about the corny dog walk, I mean,
- 28:57Speaker 4: the best thing is meeting you and everyone showing up.
- 29:01Speaker 4: But I love that.
- 29:02Speaker 5: When people come up to me more than anything and
- 29:04Speaker 5: they're like, so my daughter and I listen and it's
- 29:06Speaker 5: like become our thing. That makes everything so much more
- 29:11Speaker 5: special to me.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Yeah, if a family discussion happens based around one of these,
- 29:14Speaker 3: it's awesome.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Well, that and just that you listen with your kids
- 29:18Speaker 5: and that you have a moment with your daughter or
- 29:21Speaker 5: your son or whatever with us involved.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Is very cool. So I just want to say thank you.
- 29:26Speaker 4: That was awesome. If you have a confession, secret 833-787-1029,
- 29:31Speaker 4: and you have one.
- 29:32Speaker 10: I've never told anyone this. The only person who knows
- 29:35Speaker 10: is the pastor at my church. But for almost 10 years,
- 29:40Speaker 10: years oh it's a good it's a good secret.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Oh okay good I got nervous. Same.
- 29:46Speaker 10: For almost 10 years, I've been anonymously helping families at
- 29:51Speaker 10: my church financially.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Oh, good. Oh, okay.
- 29:54Speaker 4: And they don't know that it's you, so you're like
- 29:56Speaker 4: a secret Santa?
- 29:57Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 29:58Speaker 10: No one knows, but I've paid electric bills, paid people's rent,
- 30:03Speaker 10: medical bills. I've bought Christmas presents for some unfortunate families
- 30:07Speaker 10: for their children.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's good.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Why don't you want them to know it's you, though?
- 30:11Speaker 4: You just don't. I mean, I'm saying that's great, but. Shoot,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I'm behind on my rent.
- 30:15Speaker 10: Here's the part that makes it complicated. You know, I'm
- 30:20Speaker 10: not proud of where the money came from.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Where did it come from?
- 30:25Speaker 10: My ex-husband had been involved in some pretty shady things financially.
- 30:30Speaker 10: I'm not going to mention company names or anything, but
- 30:34Speaker 10: he was working for a company, and he ended up
- 30:37Speaker 10: just with a significant amount of money that definitely was
- 30:40Speaker 10: not a part of his salary.
- 30:41Speaker 7: Ah.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 10: Eventually, he got fired, and there were definitely a lot
- 30:47Speaker 10: of questions about what he was doing, but he passed
- 30:50Speaker 10: away shortly after getting fired.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 30:53Speaker 7: Hmm.
- 30:54Speaker 3: And that's how you got the money. Yes.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Well, first of all, I'm sorry for your loss. So
- 30:59Speaker 4: that's how you got the money.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Well, obviously.
- 31:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 31:06Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 4: So he was doing some questionable things, though. things.
- 31:12Speaker 10: He did pass away of natural causes.
- 31:14Speaker 2: I just want to.
- 31:17Speaker 10: Get some Texas mafia stuff or anything like that.
- 31:21Speaker 4: You end up with the money. It must've been a
- 31:24Speaker 4: decent amount or did you invest it? I don't know.
- 31:26Speaker 4: I mean, not to get too into that details.
- 31:29Speaker 10: No, that's exactly what I did. I invested it. And
- 31:32Speaker 10: then it just still bothered me. And at the time
- 31:35Speaker 10: when I was married, y'all, I didn't ask questions. I
- 31:37Speaker 10: loved the lifestyle. I just assumed he was doing well.
- 31:41Speaker 10: And then when things came to, you know, ahead, I
- 31:43Speaker 10: was like, oh, wow.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:45Speaker 10: This is how we afforded this. This is how we
- 31:47Speaker 10: afforded that.
- 31:47Speaker 7: Okay. Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:49Speaker 7: Right.
- 31:49Speaker 10: So after he passed, I became very involved in the church,
- 31:53Speaker 10: and that's when I secretly started giving all the money away.
- 31:56Speaker 10: I've probably given away over $ 100, 000.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Wow. God.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Well, yeah, good.
- 32:02Speaker 5: I guess I was going to say good, but I
- 32:04Speaker 5: don't know. Like, I mean, if you don't if you
- 32:06Speaker 5: don't know where the money came.
- 32:08Speaker 2: From, I don't know.
- 32:09Speaker 3: It's not like you're going to give it back.
- 32:11Speaker 4: No, you're not going to go in a way.
- 32:12Speaker 3: So you might as well do good with it.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:14Speaker 4: I don't know how long ago this was, but it
- 32:15Speaker 4: was a long time ago. Probably no matter what he did,
- 32:17Speaker 4: it wouldn't matter at this point anyway.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Right.
- 32:20Speaker 4: So what do you, this is a way to kind
- 32:21Speaker 4: of make you feel better about where the money did
- 32:23Speaker 4: come from. Maybe. I don't know.
- 32:24Speaker 10: Yeah, exactly. It's like, I know giving it away doesn't
- 32:28Speaker 10: magically erase where it came from. And maybe years ago
- 32:32Speaker 10: it was years ago. I could have did things differently.
- 32:34Speaker 10: I don't know, but it, it just hasn't sat right.
- 32:37Speaker 10: You know, and I've been ashamed and I, Now I'm like,
- 32:40Speaker 10: you know what, let me do something good. I can
- 32:42Speaker 10: help keep families from being evicted. I can help keep
- 32:46Speaker 10: their electricity on. I mean, especially after COVID, there's been
- 32:49Speaker 10: a lot of families really struggling.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:51Speaker 10: So that's my secret, you know. I sit next to
- 32:54Speaker 10: these families every Sunday, and they just don't know it's
- 32:57Speaker 10: little old me. They don't know it's little old Nina,
- 33:00Speaker 10: you know, like helping them all out.
- 33:02Speaker 2: That's a good feeling.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I don't feel– I wouldn't want to know where the
- 33:06Speaker 4: money came from if I had it. I'm like, well,
- 33:08Speaker 4: I don't know where it came from, but I'm going
- 33:09Speaker 4: to give it away.
- 33:10Speaker 5: I mean, I think not everybody who had a lot
- 33:12Speaker 5: of money from maybe a questionable source would give anyway.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I don't know if I should judge you for where
- 33:18Speaker 4: it came from. At least you're giving it away.
- 33:19Speaker 3: And making it your thing.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Didn't who did this? Peter Pan. Wait, Robin Hood. It's
- 33:25Speaker 4: not Peter Pan.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I don't watch. I have never watched those.
- 33:31Speaker 10: Never grew up.
- 33:32Speaker 4: That's right. Well, he's weird, too, for that.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Robin Hood robbed the rich to give to the poor.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Yeah. Thank you. You're a tinkerbell. Yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Very godmother.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Well, good for you. Well, thank you for your secret.
- 33:46Speaker 4: That's a good one. I felt I kind of feel
- 33:48Speaker 4: good after that.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't feel bad.
- 33:50Speaker 9: All right.
- 33:50Speaker 5: Well, thank you so much. We appreciate it. And thank
- 33:53Speaker 5: you for taking time to tell us your secret.
- 33:55Speaker 10: Thanks for taking my call, y'all. I listen to you
- 33:58Speaker 10: every day and I just believe and try to do
- 34:01Speaker 10: the best I can now. And, you know, the future
- 34:04Speaker 10: doesn't have to reflect the past.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Well, thank you. You're right.
- 34:07Speaker 5: And we appreciate that. And if you ever want to
- 34:08Speaker 5: help one of our charity causes, feel free with that
- 34:10Speaker 5: stolen money.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I'll take it.
- 34:12Speaker 4: I'm just kidding.
- 34:14Speaker 2: You know what?
- 34:15Speaker 6: No.
- 34:16Speaker 2: No, you know what?
- 34:16Speaker 10: Keep me on the line, y'all. Keep me on the line.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And let's talk.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Hold on then.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Stay there.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Nice.
- 34:22Speaker 7: Wait.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Do I feel weird if we help Charity out with
- 34:25Speaker 4: this money?
- 34:25Speaker 10: Oh, I don't know.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Just take the money.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:30Speaker 9: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 34:34Speaker 9: Billy the Kid.
- 34:35Speaker 7: In the Morning.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Surprise for the honorable judge, entire judge, Candace Lopez.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Yep, that's me.
- 34:41Speaker 4: She's been up since 1245 a.m.
- 34:43Speaker 7: Why?
- 34:44Speaker 4: We have no idea.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Perimenopause.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Perimenopause. Oh, hit it for perimenopause. Give me the air horns.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 34:53Speaker 4: While we're at it, let's throw on a pelvic floor.
- 34:57Speaker 3: It's great. Everything is fine.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Well, Candace, I'm sorry that you were up since.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's okay. I'm hanging in there.
- 35:03Speaker 4: This means that the judge is not playing games today.
- 35:05Speaker 3: No games today.
- 35:06Speaker 5: If you got an issue, at Candace on air, at
- 35:09Speaker 5: Candace on air. Another shot to go to Disneyland coming up,
- 35:11Speaker 5: by the way, at 810.
- 35:12Speaker 4: We just kicked that off. So, so many chances. I'm
- 35:15Speaker 4: trying to keep it positive for you, Candace.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I like that.
- 35:17Speaker 4: All right, here we go. Hey, Candace, court, I need
- 35:19Speaker 4: some help with this situation. I'm in with my neighbor.
- 35:22Speaker 5: So I have a beehive on my property, and it's
- 35:25Speaker 5: never affected me in any way, shape, or form. I
- 35:27Speaker 5: honestly don't even see more than one or two bees
- 35:30Speaker 5: at a time. But my next-door neighbor claims her daughter
- 35:34Speaker 5: is allergic to them.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:37Speaker 4: She came to my door over the week.
- 35:41Speaker 7: Ow.
- 35:42Speaker 5: And over the weekend, asking me to have my— these are on.
- 35:46Speaker 4: All caps— my bees removed.
- 35:49Speaker 6: Oh, okay.
- 35:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 5: Then she showed, I guess, a picture where the beehive was.
- 35:56Speaker 5: I might consider this if she offered to help me
- 35:58Speaker 5: pay for this, but she didn't. The bees have never
- 36:02Speaker 5: bothered me or stung me once, so I don't think
- 36:05Speaker 5: that is a fair ask. They're on my property on
- 36:07Speaker 5: the side that backs up to her yard, but they
- 36:09Speaker 5: aren't a problem if you ask me. What do you
- 36:12Speaker 5: guys think?
- 36:15Speaker 3: Wow, so spicy, this writing.
- 36:17Speaker 4: She is. I feel like that's, you know, I portray
- 36:20Speaker 4: it in the way I think it's written.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:21Speaker 5: There's some all caps in there.
- 36:23Speaker 4: You can tell she's a little bit angry. She's like,
- 36:25Speaker 4: why is this person asking me to remove a bee
- 36:28Speaker 4: hive from my yard that's not bothering me? But then again,
- 36:32Speaker 4: she's like, well, because you're a good neighbor.
- 36:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 36:35Speaker 4: And my daughter is allergic. So I'm concerned. Candace, your
- 36:40Speaker 4: initial thoughts.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that would bother me, too. If my kid was
- 36:42Speaker 3: allergic and you got all these bees, you're not doing
- 36:45Speaker 3: anything about them. You know, don't those things like grow
- 36:48Speaker 3: and stuff? I don't know how beehives work, but they change.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Let me go to our bee expert, Producer Poo. How
- 36:55Speaker 4: do bees work?
- 36:56Speaker 2: Well, there's a queen in Canada.
- 36:58Speaker 4: They expand.
- 36:59Speaker 2: All of them bring the nectar back to the queen
- 37:02Speaker 2: so she could pollinate. And that's how the colony grows.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:05Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 4: That was oddly good.
- 37:07Speaker 3: That was really nice. That was very Reading Rainbow of you.
- 37:12Speaker 2: So once I watched that bee movie, remember the cartoon?
- 37:16Speaker 4: No, but a good question, though, is you don't want
- 37:19Speaker 4: to kill the bees.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:21Speaker 3: We need the bees.
- 37:22Speaker 4: We need them.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Just not around your kid that's allergic.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I'm going to move them.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I'm a good neighbor.
- 37:27Speaker 5: So I feel like I'm going to absolutely move them.
- 37:29Speaker 5: I know they're not bothering me, but it's not about me.
- 37:31Speaker 5: If there's a child who might be in danger because
- 37:33Speaker 5: the bees are, you know, around in their yard.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Stop being so selfish. All caps.
- 37:39Speaker 3: You're lucky that you're not allergic, you know, because that's
- 37:43Speaker 3: probably a lot of bees. There's got to be more
- 37:45Speaker 3: than one or two that you're just not. Are you
- 37:46Speaker 3: just not going outside?
- 37:47Speaker 2: Well, right. If I'm minding my own business and they
- 37:50Speaker 2: ain't messing with me, why should I pay for it
- 37:52Speaker 2: all by myself? Why can't you?
- 37:53Speaker 5: Because it's all on your property. And like a good human,
- 37:56Speaker 5: you don't want to make anybody uncomfortable. And I'm going
- 37:59Speaker 5: to pay for it. I mean, it can't be that
- 38:00Speaker 5: much to move bees.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Well, that was going to be my question. A couple
- 38:03Speaker 3: hundred bucks? What are we talking here? I know people, like,
- 38:06Speaker 3: I didn't ask my husband because we just had someone
- 38:07Speaker 3: come take a wasp's nest and do some pesticide stuff.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I'm killing that.
- 38:14Speaker 2: You're killing the wasp. Yeah, for sure.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Get out of here.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Burning them with gasoline.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yeah, spraying them with whatever we got.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Wasp removal? I would have done that. You would? Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 2: I ain't scared of wasps.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to pay somebody.
- 38:26Speaker 4: You should be.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Wow.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Have you seen how fast you run?
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:31Speaker 4: I'd be scared if I was. Yeah, anyway. The wasp,
- 38:35Speaker 4: we're not trying to save the wasp.
- 38:36Speaker 3: No, I can see where she would be like, no,
- 38:38Speaker 3: not at all. She would be like, you know, how
- 38:39Speaker 3: do you know that the bee that your daughter has
- 38:42Speaker 3: saw came from my beehive, you know?
- 38:45Speaker 4: Well, I'm calling the bee lady. That girl in Austin.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Oh, she's in Austin. That's right.
- 38:49Speaker 4: I love her.
- 38:50Speaker 5: That'd be a good reason to call her, and I'd
- 38:51Speaker 5: be like, listen, I have a beehive. My neighbor's allergic
- 38:55Speaker 5: and I don't have the money or something, you know,
- 38:56Speaker 5: and then she's going to be like.
- 38:57Speaker 8: These bees had everything they needed to survive and they
- 39:00Speaker 8: had a ton of honey.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Listen to her voice.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 39:04Speaker 3: A ton of honey.
- 39:05Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with her.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Listen.
- 39:07Speaker 8: I had been working for about two hours by now,
- 39:10Speaker 8: so I helped myself to a bite of honey.
- 39:13Speaker 4: She just literally grabs the bee honeycomb or whatever. What
- 39:17Speaker 4: is it called?
- 39:17Speaker 2: Honeycomb, yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Is that what it is?
- 39:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 39:19Speaker 4: She grabs it and just eats it while the bees
- 39:21Speaker 4: are crawling.
- 39:21Speaker 2: All over her.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Is she wearing that suit?
- 39:24Speaker 7: No.
- 39:24Speaker 3: What?
- 39:25Speaker 2: She doesn't need a suit.
- 39:26Speaker 10: No.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Sometimes she'll wear a glove, but that's it. No, she doesn't. doesn't.
- 39:30Speaker 2: I said sometimes.
- 39:31Speaker 3: How dare you?
- 39:32Speaker 4: How dare you? She talks to the bees, whispers to them,
- 39:34Speaker 4: and they're fine. And I get it.
- 39:36Speaker 7: Wow.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I wouldn't sting her.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Does that work for anybody? Like if they're around me?
- 39:40Speaker 4: Yeah, poo. We're going to try it with poo tomorrow.
- 39:41Speaker 1: No, no, we're not.
- 39:42Speaker 3: You just whisper like that?
- 39:44Speaker 4: Talk to the bees nicely.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Like is there a frequency that they.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Calm down around? No, because they can sense fear. Bees
- 39:50Speaker 2: can sense fear.
- 39:50Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 39:51Speaker 8: It was delicious. But after I was done removing all
- 39:54Speaker 8: of the comb from the wall, I still had to
- 39:57Speaker 8: help get the bees into the new hive.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Talk me to sleep every day. I
- 40:02Speaker 2: love it.
- 40:02Speaker 7: Right?
- 40:03Speaker 4: Okay, we know the issue. I'm calling the bee lady.
- 40:05Speaker 4: I'm removing it.
- 40:06Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Who's going to let the bees sting the little.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Girl who's allergic?
- 40:09Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 40:09Speaker 2: Just go and have with me. Help me pay.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Anyway, Candace, it doesn't matter what we think. It doesn't
- 40:13Speaker 4: matter what the bee lady thinks.
- 40:14Speaker 8: Yeah, it doesn't.
- 40:15Speaker 2: This is your court.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're guilty of being a queen bee Betty.
- 40:18Speaker 7: Oh!
- 40:20Speaker 3: Just get the bees removed. It can't be that expensive.
- 40:23Speaker 3: It's on your property. Those are your bees, basically.
- 40:27Speaker 2: She's right.
- 40:28Speaker 4: She's breeding them at this point.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you are.
- 40:31Speaker 3: You're helping the bees to expand and grow and scare
- 40:34Speaker 3: the little girl.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And that little girl could get hurt.
- 40:36Speaker 7: Right.
- 40:37Speaker 3: We just want to be outside and relax. Not have
- 40:39Speaker 3: bees everywhere.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Be a good neighbor. She is guilty of being a.
- 40:41Speaker 3: A queen bee Betty.
- 40:44Speaker 9: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 40:47Speaker 9: Kid in the Morning.
- 40:48Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9. You know what's going to.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Cheer you up on a Monday?
- 40:52Speaker 7: What?
- 40:54Speaker 4: Vodka. No, a trip to Disneyland.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that would do it.
- 40:58Speaker 5: A trip to Disneyland. We got them on the 10s,
- 41:00Speaker 5: so we're going to do it next. Have that iHeartRadio
- 41:03Speaker 5: app ready to go. But, I mean, this would be incredible.
- 41:05Speaker 5: I love doing this because it's magical around the holidays.
- 41:07Speaker 4: That's when you'd be going. I mean, we pay for it, so...
- 41:10Speaker 4: Get ready. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 41:12Speaker 3: Well, warm start to the week, but by the end
- 41:14Speaker 3: of the week, we're going to be close to normal
- 41:15Speaker 3: with our temperatures, guys. We have mid-90s today through Wednesday,
- 41:19Speaker 3: then actual rain, good chances of rain Wednesday. That brings
- 41:22Speaker 3: cooler weather, highs in the 80s, maybe even 70s by Friday.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Candace, I heard it's raining up north right now, though.
- 41:28Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 41:29Speaker 4: Like in Prosper and parts of Frisco.
- 41:30Speaker 7: Okay.
- 41:31Speaker 4: So that's good.
- 41:32Speaker 5: But I just read, though, that Dallas had 100 consecutive
- 41:35Speaker 5: days over 90 degrees this For the first time in history.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Wow, really?
- 41:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I just read that.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it was brutal.
- 41:44Speaker 1: What?
- 41:44Speaker 2: It was brutal.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's time for a change. I mean, by Friday, yeah,
- 41:49Speaker 3: 70s all day. We could just have a high right
- 41:51Speaker 3: there and not even make it to the 80s. So
- 41:52Speaker 3: hopefully that happens.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Give me the hoodie weather.
- 41:54Speaker 2: I love it.
- 41:55Speaker 4: I want a PSL. I want to put up my
- 41:57Speaker 4: Christmas decorations.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Well, put up Halloween decorations first. That's what I'm doing Thursday.
- 42:01Speaker 3: It's October 1st. I'm waiting until October 1st.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Skip it.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Skip Halloween. Why?
- 42:05Speaker 4: Why not?
- 42:06Speaker 3: Because it's fun. It's on a Saturday this year.
- 42:08Speaker 4: I'm rage baiting you, Candace. You are.
- 42:10Speaker 7: I know.
- 42:11Speaker 4: I know.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I'm going to rage bait you back, though, because yesterday,
- 42:14Speaker 3: really rough day for Dallas sports fans. The Cowboys lost
- 42:17Speaker 3: to the Ravens 34 to 31 right in the final
- 42:20Speaker 3: second of that game in Brazil. I could not believe
- 42:22Speaker 3: it came down to this very last second.
- 42:26Speaker 2: You know what?
- 42:26Speaker 5: I should I should be used to it. I don't
- 42:28Speaker 5: know why we're not used to it. And I guess
- 42:30Speaker 5: that's the frustrating part is because I thought. Wow, we
- 42:33Speaker 5: started moving the ball good. That last drive, I'm like,
- 42:35Speaker 5: we're not only going to tie it, we're going to
- 42:37Speaker 5: win it.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Dak was running well.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Well, yeah, he was running.
- 42:41Speaker 3: A few times he ran well with the ball.
- 42:44Speaker 4: And then the last drive, how? If you want to say, like,
- 42:47Speaker 4: this is what frustrates me about the Cowboys.
- 42:49Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Is Dak was bragging in training camp that we have
- 42:52Speaker 5: the best offense in the NFL, and you're getting cocky
- 42:55Speaker 5: with it.
- 42:55Speaker 4: When you get cocky, you've got to show up.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Well, the best offense in the NFL scores on first
- 42:59Speaker 3: and goal.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yes. You've got to utilize them.
- 43:03Speaker 4: You don't throw it three, four times into the end zone.
- 43:06Speaker 3: To the cameraman off the field.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Oh, I don't know what that last throw was. Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 4: What was that last throw?
- 43:12Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I don't know who he was throwing to. That was awful.
- 43:15Speaker 3: You had a guy open right there in the end zone.
- 43:18Speaker 4: It just gets me so frustrated, and I just, I mean,
- 43:20Speaker 4: I want, listen, is it still our year? Yes. Are
- 43:24Speaker 4: we going to the Super Bowl? Of course we are.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Are we going to win it all?
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:28Speaker 4: But why put us through this? Right.
- 43:30Speaker 7: Why?
- 43:30Speaker 8: I mean.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, if they could somehow make all of
- 43:32Speaker 3: this worth it, we'll forget about this in January, February.
- 43:35Speaker 3: But I don't know. We'll see what happens Sunday against
- 43:38Speaker 3: the Texans. But on top of that. The Rangers got
- 43:41Speaker 3: eliminated from playoff contention. Exactly. So yesterday was bad.
- 43:46Speaker 5: So once again, we're just waiting for the stars to
- 43:49Speaker 5: carry us like they always do.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Go Mavs is usually what I say about
- 43:53Speaker 3: this time of year.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 43:56Speaker 2: I don't want to give up.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Listen, I'm not. I love the Cowboys no matter what.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:00Speaker 4: But the last I mean, yesterday was just embarrassing.
- 44:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 4: It's something's got to change.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Yeah, no, 100%. Or two games that were embarrassing in
- 44:09Speaker 3: the season. So far out of three. The Cowboys game,
- 44:12Speaker 3: by the way, delayed the MTV VMAs by about 20 minutes.
- 44:15Speaker 3: But let's recap the show. Madonna won Artist of the Year.
- 44:19Speaker 3: BTS won Song of the Year for Swim. Taylor Swift
- 44:22Speaker 3: debuted her new music video for Patient Zero. And she
- 44:25Speaker 3: also won Video of the Year for The Fate of Ophelia.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Here she is accepting that award.
- 44:30Speaker 6: I want to thank and dedicate this award to... one
- 44:33Speaker 6: person without whom just this wouldn't be happening. And that
- 44:38Speaker 6: person is the ultimate showgirl, Dolly Parton. Every single song
- 44:47Speaker 6: that she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid and so rich.
- 44:50Speaker 6: It was like listening to her songs. It's like watching
- 44:53Speaker 6: the best music video you have ever seen in your
- 44:56Speaker 6: life every single time.
- 44:58Speaker 4: That was a cool moment.
- 44:58Speaker 3: I like that.
- 44:59Speaker 4: I didn't even watch the VMAs. I turned the TV off. Actually,
- 45:02Speaker 4: I threw my TV in my pool.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that.
- 45:05Speaker 4: It wasn't working right anyway.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Are you sure?
- 45:07Speaker 5: For whatever reason, I'm telling you, every time I put
- 45:10Speaker 5: on the Cowboys game, they threw It shows Dak throwing
- 45:12Speaker 5: to nobody. I think something's wrong with it. So splash,
- 45:15Speaker 5: it went in the pool. If you don't believe me,
- 45:16Speaker 5: you can go look at the Mix Instagram because it happened.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Do you regret it?
- 45:20Speaker 8: Yep.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Okay.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Just checking.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 45:26Speaker 4: Ready?
- 45:27Speaker 1: Oh, that's a hot take. Let us know what you think.
- 45:30Speaker 7: Here's today's hot take.
- 45:31Speaker 5: Hot take of the day on Mix 102.9. It's Billy
- 45:33Speaker 5: the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. You know I'm a
- 45:36Speaker 5: huge Ella fella.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 4: I mean, maybe not as big as I was. Six
- 45:41Speaker 4: months ago.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Oh, because she has a man now?
- 45:43Speaker 4: Well, no, it's just life's hard win. No, it has
- 45:45Speaker 4: nothing to do with that.
- 45:46Speaker 7: Are you sure?
- 45:47Speaker 5: No, yeah, it has nothing to do with the fact
- 45:49Speaker 5: that she's happy and has a boyfriend.
- 45:50Speaker 3: What's his name?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Tucker?
- 45:51Speaker 4: Who cares? Tucker Wetmore? Tucker Wetmore? Damn you, Tucker Wetmore.
- 45:57Speaker 3: They're cute together.
- 45:58Speaker 4: They are adorable.
- 45:59Speaker 7: Sorry.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Candace, how dare you?
- 46:02Speaker 4: How dare you, Candace?
- 46:03Speaker 3: They are.
- 46:04Speaker 4: No, no, of course, yeah. No, they are. Whatever.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Well, she's in, I don't know, I want to say
- 46:08Speaker 5: she's in some hot water. She's not really in hot water,
- 46:10Speaker 5: but she's catching a little bit of heat, which I
- 46:13Speaker 5: don't know if it's deserved or not.
- 46:14Speaker 4: That's what I'm going to ask you.
- 46:15Speaker 5: But basically, you might have seen the interaction that went
- 46:17Speaker 5: viral she had with a fan. And I say a fan.
- 46:21Speaker 5: Candace brought up a good point a minute ago. Either way,
- 46:23Speaker 5: he's some TikToker, I guess his name. I don't even
- 46:26Speaker 5: know his name. I don't even know if it matters.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Either way.
- 46:29Speaker 4: She's in like a parking garage that you could tell
- 46:31Speaker 4: like maybe at a concert or whatever going before or after.
- 46:33Speaker 4: I don't even know which one it is. And he's
- 46:35Speaker 4: like screaming through the grate like a like a little
- 46:39Speaker 4: sewer grate looking thing.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's weird.
- 46:41Speaker 5: And trying to basically say to her, he's like.
- 46:43Speaker 4: Hey, how many likes will it take to go on
- 46:46Speaker 4: a date?
- 46:47Speaker 5: And, you know, she didn't really see where it's coming from.
- 46:50Speaker 4: It's kind of all a mess. Actually, I'll play it.
- 46:51Speaker 4: I don't know if you can hear it very well,
- 46:53Speaker 4: but how many likes to take you on a date?
- 46:58Speaker 5: And she screams back. She basically not even screams back.
- 47:01Speaker 5: She says with a very annoyed look on her face,
- 47:06Speaker 5: not enough in the world.
- 47:08Speaker 7: Right.
- 47:09Speaker 4: And he goes, oh, and looks away. And she just
- 47:11Speaker 4: kind of she almost almost rolled her eyes.
- 47:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Right. And then he was like, you miss 100 percent
- 47:17Speaker 4: of the shots you don't take. Right. She said there's
- 47:19Speaker 4: not enough in the world. And he kind of laughed
- 47:22Speaker 4: it off and moved on.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 47:23Speaker 5: And then it kind of blew up online because people
- 47:25Speaker 5: were annoyed with Ella. A lot of people were annoyed
- 47:29Speaker 5: with Ella because they were like, oh, how dare it? See,
- 47:31Speaker 5: it's gone to her head now. OK, it's gone to
- 47:33Speaker 5: her head. Look, she's blowing up now. She doesn't know
- 47:35Speaker 5: how to act. And I didn't really take it that way.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, he's just using her for content. That's rude.
- 47:42Speaker 3: You know what I mean? I don't even know that
- 47:43Speaker 3: she could see his face through those grates.
- 47:46Speaker 2: No, there's no way she could have. It's just his.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Voice yelling at her. You know, he's not a genuine
- 47:50Speaker 3: fan at a meet and greet. You know, he's yelling
- 47:52Speaker 3: at her through this window. Like, if I was out
- 47:54Speaker 3: on the street and some guy yelled that at me,
- 47:56Speaker 3: I'd keep walking and just be like, oh, whatever.
- 47:58Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:58Speaker 2: You know?
- 47:59Speaker 4: And that's the point. I was kind of annoyed with her, too,
- 48:02Speaker 4: at first. I'll be honest. Until you said that, and
- 48:03Speaker 4: then you kind of convinced me. I'm like, you know what?
- 48:05Speaker 2: I think you're right. I think you're right because.
- 48:07Speaker 4: I mean, at the end of the day, you're just
- 48:09Speaker 4: a human being, whether you're famous or not.
- 48:11Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 5: Somebody's screaming something. Sometimes you're not like, well, I'm Ella Langley.
- 48:15Speaker 5: How do I react in this situation?
- 48:17Speaker 7: Right.
- 48:17Speaker 3: I mean, she could have played along and she didn't.
- 48:20Speaker 3: And that is what it is. But you also have
- 48:22Speaker 3: to think about when you're at her level, you have
- 48:24Speaker 3: to be aware of every interaction you have ever or
- 48:26Speaker 3: people are going to be filming and take it the
- 48:28Speaker 3: wrong way.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 48:30Speaker 2: But she could have had fun with it.
- 48:32Speaker 3: She could have, but, like, not everybody's always in a
- 48:35Speaker 3: fun mood when you want them to be. You know,
- 48:37Speaker 3: she's offstage. She's done performing.
- 48:39Speaker 5: Well, she handled it. She handled it, I think. Would
- 48:42Speaker 5: she handle it differently now? I think she would have.
- 48:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Because she responded and she said, this was definitely meant
- 48:47Speaker 5: as dark humor and it obviously didn't land due to
- 48:50Speaker 5: my face. I will say it takes a lot more
- 48:55Speaker 5: likes on a TikTok. I'm still a human. I think
- 48:58Speaker 5: she was saying, like, it takes a lot more than
- 49:00Speaker 5: just likes on TikTok. I'm still a human.
- 49:02Speaker 7: Right.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Right, of course.
- 49:03Speaker 5: And I don't think this guy was serious. I also
- 49:05Speaker 5: don't think that it was dark humor. I think you
- 49:06Speaker 5: were annoyed. And I think it's fair to be annoyed.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I agree. I mean, it's just like when
- 49:10Speaker 3: the paparazzi rolls up on Justin Bieber and they say
- 49:13Speaker 3: something to trigger him to get a reaction. They won.
- 49:15Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 49:16Speaker 7: He won.
- 49:16Speaker 3: He got the content. He's gone viral. I never know
- 49:19Speaker 3: who this guy was.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Before this.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Well, now he's like taking full blown advantage of it.
- 49:23Speaker 5: So now what the kid has done is now he's
- 49:25Speaker 5: got a video of him leaving.
- 49:28Speaker 4: It looks like a Kroger or something. I don't know.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Some kind of whatever with a massive amount of flowers.
- 49:33Speaker 7: Wow.
- 49:33Speaker 5: And he said, Ellie, you said there's no amount of
- 49:35Speaker 5: likes in the world that could get me to take
- 49:37Speaker 5: you on a date.
- 49:37Speaker 4: I hope this. This amount of flowers is enough.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 49:41Speaker 4: And if not, let me come to your concert and
- 49:43Speaker 4: at least give you a hug. Okay, bro, give it up.
- 49:47Speaker 4: Now this annoys me.
- 49:48Speaker 3: He's playing off of this little fame that he's got
- 49:51Speaker 3: and notoriety of this video going viral to follow up.
- 49:54Speaker 5: That started to, yeah. Now I'm annoyed with him because
- 49:56Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, just give it up. She doesn't, she's
- 49:58Speaker 5: got a boyfriend. She doesn't want to date you. And
- 50:02Speaker 5: now you're trying to take advantage of the fact that
- 50:03Speaker 5: you went viral and it's kind of creepy.
- 50:05Speaker 3: No, it is. You're clout chasing.
- 50:07Speaker 8: Yes.
- 50:07Speaker 2: You know?
- 50:08Speaker 4: That's what it is. Okay.
- 50:09Speaker 5: So I thought, okay, I'm annoyed with this guy. But
- 50:11Speaker 5: what do you expect from some guy who's on TikTok?
- 50:14Speaker 5: Just trying to go viral in every situation possible.
- 50:17Speaker 8: Right.
- 50:17Speaker 7: And who knows?
- 50:18Speaker 3: And maybe she would have addressed this, but who knows
- 50:20Speaker 3: if he was in the concert doing something there or
- 50:22Speaker 3: if she's run into this guy before and this is
- 50:25Speaker 3: just his shtick. You know what I mean?
- 50:26Speaker 5: And also, who knows what she's dealing with at that
- 50:28Speaker 5: moment where she looks annoyed. Maybe she was dealing with
- 50:31Speaker 5: a personal issue. Maybe she was. Maybe she was dealing
- 50:34Speaker 5: with the fact that, you know, this Tucker Wetmore guy
- 50:37Speaker 5: already cheated on her.
- 50:38Speaker 7: Who knows?
- 50:39Speaker 2: Oh, this guy.
- 50:40Speaker 4: You know, maybe she's like mad because she didn't get
- 50:42Speaker 4: my number.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Maybe so.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Or she didn't respond or say happy birthday. I don't
- 50:46Speaker 4: know what's going on in her life.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you shrunk your Ella fella shirt.
- 50:49Speaker 2: She's upset.
- 50:50Speaker 3: How about that?
- 50:53Speaker 4: Maybe she's mad that I shrunk my Ella fella.
- 50:57Speaker 2: You know what?
- 50:58Speaker 4: That's probably it.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Yeah, well, send her flowers.
- 51:00Speaker 4: I will send her some flowers. I'm going to scream
- 51:02Speaker 4: that through a grate and try to go viral.
- 51:05Speaker 7: No.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Okay, stop.
- 51:07Speaker 9: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 51:10Speaker 9: Kid in the morning.
- 51:11Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 51:13Speaker 5: You got a chance to go to Disneyland coming up next.
- 51:16Speaker 5: So get that iHeartRadio app ready to win a trip
- 51:20Speaker 5: on us during the holidays you would go to, which
- 51:23Speaker 5: that place is.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Magical all the time. But around the holidays, it's next level.
- 51:26Speaker 4: I mean, they make it snow.
- 51:27Speaker 3: They do.
- 51:28Speaker 2: It's all lit up.
- 51:29Speaker 4: It's amazing.
- 51:30Speaker 5: It's a beautiful trip on us. Make it happen next.
- 51:32Speaker 5: We do it on the 10s all day. Candace Lopez,
- 51:34Speaker 5: what is going on?
- 51:35Speaker 3: Well, there was probably a lot of screaming yesterday during
- 51:37Speaker 3: the Cowboys game, but also a lot of screaming from
- 51:39Speaker 3: the Dallas Scream Club. They had this screaming event yesterday.
- 51:43Speaker 3: It was down by the Trinity River. I guess they
- 51:45Speaker 3: announced this just a few days ago, and at least
- 51:47Speaker 3: 250 people showed up just to face the Dallas skyline
- 51:52Speaker 3: and let it out and scream.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Three, two, one. Ah! This is real life, and it
- 52:00Speaker 4: goes on forever. Oh, yeah.
- 52:06Speaker 2: I mean, you know what?
- 52:07Speaker 4: People need it. If you need it and it makes
- 52:08Speaker 4: you feel.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Good, do it.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Yeah, this is like the new trend. I think they
- 52:12Speaker 3: did this at Lake Michigan recently. I think there was one,
- 52:15Speaker 3: I don't know, somewhere else.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Yeah, San Francisco. They're starting clubs, so this is a
- 52:20Speaker 4: scream club.
- 52:21Speaker 3: It is a scream club, yeah. So if you need
- 52:23Speaker 3: to let it out, pay attention to them because I'm
- 52:25Speaker 3: hearing there may be another event coming up in October,
- 52:28Speaker 3: maybe on the 11th.
- 52:29Speaker 4: It did look a little ridiculous. I'm not going to lie.
- 52:32Speaker 4: You know, people just on a hill screaming at the skyline.
- 52:34Speaker 7: Right.
- 52:35Speaker 5: And they had shorts on and they were in grass.
- 52:37Speaker 5: And all I kept thinking is they're all getting ticks
- 52:39Speaker 5: and chiggers.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 52:41Speaker 4: I was just itchy looking at it.
- 52:42Speaker 6: Right.
- 52:43Speaker 2: But you know what?
- 52:44Speaker 4: They had fun.
- 52:45Speaker 3: They did have fun.
- 52:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Whatever it takes, guys. Listen to this. Instagram has launched
- 52:49Speaker 3: its new premium feature, Instagram Plus. So for $ 3. 99 a month,
- 52:54Speaker 3: you can now extend your stories so they're shown longer
- 52:57Speaker 3: than 24 hours. There's a story preview where you can
- 53:00Speaker 3: actually look at someone's story without showing up on their
- 53:02Speaker 3: view list. And then there's also features to help hide
- 53:05Speaker 3: actions from other users.
- 53:07Speaker 5: Which is interesting to me because, I mean, you can
- 53:10Speaker 5: now tap. If you pay for it, you can tap
- 53:12Speaker 5: on somebody's profile.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 53:13Speaker 5: It'll say view story. And you can basically view it
- 53:16Speaker 5: in ghost mode. So you're basically paying to creep.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't like this. I love it.
- 53:22Speaker 7: No.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Some people are saying these new options really just feed
- 53:25Speaker 3: digital addiction and make creeping easier, which it absolutely does.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Well, it's a business, though. Instagram, they're going to make money.
- 53:32Speaker 4: They're going to do it.
- 53:32Speaker 5: I mean, there's... There's levels to the subscription, so you
- 53:35Speaker 5: can go as high up as $ 500 a month. See,
- 53:39Speaker 5: I didn't know that.
- 53:41Speaker 2: $ 500 a month.
- 53:42Speaker 4: Gives you what?
- 53:43Speaker 5: It gives you a bunch of concierge with Instagram on
- 53:47Speaker 5: how to create. This is more for somebody who is
- 53:49Speaker 5: going to have a business or a content creator.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 53:52Speaker 4: And then you can also put links.
- 53:53Speaker 5: It's going to allow you to put links in your
- 53:55Speaker 5: captions like you can't do now.
- 53:56Speaker 4: You have to say link in bio. I mean, is
- 53:58Speaker 4: it worth.
- 53:58Speaker 3: That would be helpful.
- 53:59Speaker 4: But $ 500 a month worth?
- 54:01Speaker 7: No. Right.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I mean, it depends on how much... Yeah, how much
- 54:04Speaker 3: you're making off of this. If you're making a lot
- 54:06Speaker 3: of money because of your links, then yeah, it'll totally
- 54:08Speaker 3: be worth it. But they also did launch a new
- 54:11Speaker 3: AI-powered feature. They're calling... It basically helps you soft launch
- 54:15Speaker 3: your new romantic partner so you can blur their face out.
- 54:18Speaker 7: Well.
- 54:19Speaker 4: That's so weird. Can you just do that on... Instagram
- 54:21Speaker 4: or edits or some kind of- Yeah, you totally can.
- 54:24Speaker 5: So you're going to have to pay that to just
- 54:26Speaker 5: blur something. Put a box over it or something.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but what's the point?
- 54:29Speaker 4: And why even do this?
- 54:30Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 54:31Speaker 7: Right.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Like for kids, okay, I guess that helps you to
- 54:34Speaker 3: not put an emoji over their face if that's what you.
- 54:36Speaker 7: Want to do.
- 54:37Speaker 2: You just want to blur?
- 54:38Speaker 4: Then why even take pictures of them?
- 54:40Speaker 10: Yeah, I know.
- 54:41Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 54:41Speaker 4: And I have total respect if you don't want to- Oh,
- 54:43Speaker 4: for sure. Post your kids.
- 54:44Speaker 5: I get it because a lot of AI stuff out there,
- 54:46Speaker 5: you don't want your kid's face- Then why even put
- 54:49Speaker 5: their face blurred up there?
- 54:50Speaker 4: Why even put it up there?
- 54:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, because they're our whole life.
- 54:52Speaker 4: I see it all the time. Yeah, but I saw
- 54:54Speaker 4: it the other day. Someone's like, we're at the pumpkin patch.
- 54:56Speaker 6: Aw.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Me and little Timmy. And the kid's got a blurred
- 54:58Speaker 4: out face.
- 54:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 4: And I'm like, well, okay.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Well, their outfits were cute. Their outfits were matching.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Don't put them up there.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Just leave little Timmy off. Because, I mean, all I
- 55:07Speaker 4: see is a blurred face.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 55:09Speaker 4: It's sad. I see a pumpkin patch in the background. Yeah.
- 55:13Speaker 3: We have some potential casting news for the Britney Spears biopic.
- 55:16Speaker 3: A source is saying Sydney Sweeney is the leading contender
- 55:20Speaker 3: to play Britney in the film. Sounds like she's in
- 55:22Speaker 3: the running along with Millie Bobby Brown and Addison Rae.
- 55:27Speaker 3: When this was first announced, the rumor was that Sabrina
- 55:29Speaker 3: Carpenter had already been named, you know, the person that
- 55:32Speaker 3: was going to play Britney. But I guess, you know,
- 55:33Speaker 3: that's not working out or maybe that was just a
- 55:35Speaker 3: rumor at the time.
- 55:36Speaker 4: I think I heard she has something else going on
- 55:38Speaker 4: to where she can't do it.
- 55:40Speaker 7: Okay.
- 55:40Speaker 4: So maybe that's the case. I thought she'd be perfect
- 55:42Speaker 4: for it.
- 55:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess she did just announce another film that's
- 55:46Speaker 3: coming out as well. But I think Tate McRae would
- 55:48Speaker 3: crush it. I think she would dance performance standpoint. She's
- 55:51Speaker 3: like the closest to Britney. I think we have.
- 55:53Speaker 5: And she's so talented. She and she was a dancer
- 55:56Speaker 5: before she was really a singer. She's a professional dancer.
- 55:58Speaker 8: Right.
- 55:59Speaker 4: So she would kill it.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd love to see that.
- 56:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I would definitely watch this, though.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, I'll watch it for sure. Like first day.
- 56:06Speaker 3: This will be like the Michael Jackson movie, like first day.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Got to see this type thing, but I'll keep you posted.
- 56:12Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
- 56:15Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 56:17Speaker 3: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 56:20Speaker 3: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 56:24Speaker 5: Oh, yes, it's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh.
- 56:26Speaker 5: It is time to confess anything new. I mean, I
- 56:29Speaker 5: was getting dirty little secrets on the Corny Dog Walk.
- 56:31Speaker 4: I know.
- 56:32Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 56:32Speaker 8: I know.
- 56:33Speaker 4: Some people were like, I have a secret. I just
- 56:34Speaker 4: can't call in. Well, I mean, yeah, I felt like
- 56:38Speaker 4: I was just getting some good dirty little secrets on
- 56:42Speaker 4: the Corny Dog Walk, which was so good, by the way.
- 56:44Speaker 5: Thank you to everybody who showed up. We walked to
- 56:46Speaker 5: the fair. We made it, in case.
- 56:48Speaker 4: You were wondering.
- 56:48Speaker 8: Yep.
- 56:49Speaker 4: Candace and I made it. Poo did 9.1. Yeah, that's good.
- 56:52Speaker 3: Better than last year.
- 56:54Speaker 4: More miles than last year. Almost a full mile more.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I was trying.
- 56:59Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 56:59Speaker 4: It was a little warmer this year.
- 57:01Speaker 3: It was.
- 57:01Speaker 10: It was.
- 57:02Speaker 2: It was super hot.
- 57:03Speaker 5: So if you don't know, we walk from the station
- 57:05Speaker 5: here in North Dallas to the State Fair of Texas.
- 57:07Speaker 5: It's about 15 miles, and it took us... people wondering
- 57:09Speaker 5: we left at about 10 30 yeah and got there
- 57:12Speaker 5: at about what time.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Candace between 6 6 30 and time for opening ceremony.
- 57:16Speaker 5: Which was awesome yeah if you have i know you've
- 57:19Speaker 5: been to the fair but if you have never been
- 57:21Speaker 5: to the opening ceremony of the fair i didn't realize
- 57:24Speaker 5: how incredible it was so thank you because suzy who
- 57:27Speaker 5: works for the fair she was like well you guys
- 57:28Speaker 5: want to go to the opening ceremony and i was
- 57:30Speaker 5: like yes and Anna took us in and we went
- 57:33Speaker 5: and we watched the flyover and it was, there was
- 57:36Speaker 5: a helicopter there and it was very, very cool. So,
- 57:39Speaker 5: and we got to present them with a check. Thanks
- 57:41Speaker 5: to you for buying the Corny Dog Walk shirts for $ 2, 000.
- 57:45Speaker 4: So they were very happy. And next year we're going
- 57:48Speaker 4: to triple that. Good. And then we're going to quadruple it.
- 57:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 57:51Speaker 4: Then we're going to, what's the next one?
- 57:53Speaker 3: We're going to do whatever's bigger than that.
- 57:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 57:55Speaker 4: That's what we're doing.
- 57:57Speaker 2: All right.
- 57:58Speaker 5: In the meantime, let's do a dirty little secret.
- 57:59Speaker 4: If you've got a confession, bring it on. Anything you
- 58:02Speaker 4: want to confess.
- 58:03Speaker 10: I've never told anyone this. The only person who knows
- 58:06Speaker 10: is the pastor at my church.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 58:09Speaker 10: But for almost 10 years. Oh, it's a good secret.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Oh, okay, good.
- 58:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I got nervous.
- 58:15Speaker 9: Same.
- 58:16Speaker 10: For almost 10 years, I've been anonymously helping families at
- 58:21Speaker 10: my church financially.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Oh, good. Oh, okay.
- 58:25Speaker 4: And they don't know that it's you, so you're like
- 58:27Speaker 4: a secret Santa?
- 58:28Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 58:28Speaker 10: No one knows, but I've paid electric bills, paid people's rent,
- 58:33Speaker 10: medical bills. I've bought Christmas presents for some unfortunate families
- 58:37Speaker 10: for their children.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Oh, that's good.
- 58:39Speaker 4: That's why don't you want to know it's you, though?
- 58:41Speaker 4: You just don't. I mean, that's I'm saying that's great,
- 58:43Speaker 4: but I'm behind on my rent.
- 58:45Speaker 10: Here's the part that makes it complicated. You know, I'm
- 58:50Speaker 10: not proud of where.
- 58:51Speaker 2: The money came from.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Where did it come from?
- 58:55Speaker 10: My ex-husband had been involved in some pretty shady things financially.
- 59:00Speaker 10: I'm not going to mention, yeah, I'm not going to
- 59:02Speaker 10: mention company names or anything, but he was working for
- 59:05Speaker 10: a company and he ended up just with a significant
- 59:09Speaker 10: amount of money that definitely was not a part of
- 59:11Speaker 10: his salary.
- 59:12Speaker 7: Ah.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 59:14Speaker 10: Yeah. Eventually he got fired.
- 59:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 59:16Speaker 10: And there were definitely a lot of questions about what
- 59:19Speaker 10: he was doing, but he passed away shortly after getting fired.
- 59:23Speaker 7: Oh, God. Hmm.
- 59:24Speaker 3: And that's how you got the money.
- 59:26Speaker 10: Yes.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Well, first of all, I'm sorry for your loss. So
- 59:29Speaker 4: that's how you got the money.
- 59:32Speaker 3: I'm in shock. Well, obviously, yeah.
- 59:36Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 59:37Speaker 4: So he was doing some questionable things, though.
- 59:41Speaker 10: Questionable things. He did pass away of natural causes.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I just want to be clear.
- 59:47Speaker 10: Some Texas mafia stuff or anything like that.
- 59:51Speaker 4: You end up with the money.
- 59:52Speaker 10: Yeah, it's just weird.
- 59:53Speaker 4: It must've been a decent amount or did you invest it?
- 59:55Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, not to get too into
- 59:57Speaker 4: your details.
- 59:59Speaker 10: No, that's, that's exactly what I did. I invested it
- 1:00:02Speaker 10: and then it just still bothered me. And at the
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: time when I was married, y'all, I didn't ask questions.
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: I love the lifestyle. I just assumed he was doing well.
- 1:00:11Speaker 10: And then when things came to, you know, ahead, I
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: was like, Oh wow.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:00:15Speaker 10: This is how we afforded this. This is how we
- 1:00:17Speaker 10: afforded that.
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:00:20Speaker 10: So after he passed, I became very involved in the church,
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: and that's when I secretly started giving all the money away.
- 1:00:26Speaker 10: I've probably given away over $ 100, 000.
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: Wow.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: God.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Well, yeah, good.
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: I guess it's I was going to say good, but
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: I don't know. Like, I mean, if you don't if
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: you don't know where the money came from.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: It's not like you're going to give it back.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: No, you're not going to go in a way.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: So you might as well do good with it.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: I don't know how long ago this was, but it
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: was a long time ago. Probably no matter what he did,
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: it wouldn't matter at this point anyway. Right. So what
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: do you, this is a way to kind of make
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: you feel better about where the money did come from. Maybe.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:00:55Speaker 10: Yeah, exactly. It's like, I know giving it away doesn't
- 1:00:59Speaker 10: magically erase where it came from. And maybe years ago
- 1:01:02Speaker 10: it was years ago. I could have did things differently.
- 1:01:04Speaker 10: I don't know, but it, it just hasn't sat right.
- 1:01:07Speaker 10: You know, and I've been ashamed and I, Now I'm like,
- 1:01:10Speaker 10: you know what, let me do something good. I can
- 1:01:12Speaker 10: help keep families from being evicted. I can help keep
- 1:01:16Speaker 10: their electricity on. I mean, especially after COVID, there's been
- 1:01:19Speaker 10: a lot of families really struggling.
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:01:21Speaker 10: So that's my secret, you know. I sit next to
- 1:01:24Speaker 10: these families every Sunday, and they just don't know it's
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: little old me. They don't know it's little old Nina,
- 1:01:30Speaker 10: you know, like helping them all out.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: That's a good feeling.
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: I don't feel– I wouldn't want to know where the
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: money came from if I had it. I'm like, well,
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: I don't know where it came from, but I'm going
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: to give it away, I guess. I mean, I think
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: not everybody who had a lot of money from maybe
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: a questionable source would give anyway.
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if I should judge you for
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: where it came from. At least you're giving it away and.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Making it your thing.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Didn't who did this? Peter Pan. Wait, Robin Hood. It's
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: not Peter Pan.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I don't watch. I have never watched.
- 1:02:01Speaker 10: I never grew up.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: That's right. Well, he's weird, too, for that. Robin Hood
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: robbed the rich.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: To give to the poor.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: Yeah. Thank you. You're a tinkerbell.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: Godmother.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: Well, good for you. Well, thank you for your secret.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: That's a good one. I felt I kind of feel
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: good after that.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't feel bad.
- 1:02:20Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Well, thank you so much. We appreciate it. And thank
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: you for taking time to tell us your secret.
- 1:02:25Speaker 10: Thanks for taking my call, y'all. I listen to you
- 1:02:28Speaker 10: every day and I just believe and try to do
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: the best I can now. And, you know, the future
- 1:02:34Speaker 10: doesn't have to reflect the past.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Well, thank you. You're right.
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: And we appreciate that. And if you ever want to
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: help one of our charity causes, feel free with that
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: stolen money.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll take it.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: I'm just kidding.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: You know what?
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: No.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: No, you know what?
- 1:02:46Speaker 10: Keep me on the line, y'all. Keep me on the
- 1:02:48Speaker 10: line and let's talk.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: Oh, say less.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: I'm not above it.
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: 102.9.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: We're about to get out of here.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Thank you for having us on and for making it
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: an awesome Monday or at least better coming off a
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: Cowboys loss. At least I get cheered up. By coming
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: in here and hanging out with you. So, Candice Lopez,
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: what are you doing? Hopefully you're going to take a nap.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: That is my one and only goal for the day.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: You got up at 1245. You can't sleep. I don't
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: know what's going on. You were crying about Dak's throw.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: I was, yeah.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: I don't know what you were doing.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Well, he wasn't throwing to anybody.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I'm still mad about that.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Is it still our year?
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's whatever it is.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: It's all good. It's going to be okay. At least
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Pooh got a pedicure. Yeah, I did. What else matters?
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: Yeah, my sister treated me to that. Yeah. Morgan looks
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: out for me.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, she does. Thank God, too.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Did she get a pedicure also?
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: No, she didn't.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: She didn't?
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: No, uh-uh.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: So she just took you to get a pedicure?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Yeah, she paid for it. Yeah, she said, bro, you
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: need this.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: Did she go with you?
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: She walked in, paid for it, and bounced. Actually, she
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: walked in, paid for it, walked next door to Cold Stone,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: then bounced. Did they charge you extra?
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: No.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: No, but she looked at me, and she was like, ooh.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: And I don't know what she said, but it probably
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: looked like he needed all the help he can get. Right.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: Well, because after the walk, you walked 9.1 miles, which
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: whether you finish or not, that's a long time.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: On your feet. But I feel like if anybody should pedicure,
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: it's Candace and I.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Uh, yeah. Y'all need one?
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: No, it's okay.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: We all deserve one.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't like pedicures, though. Yeah, Billy don't like
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: nobody touching.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Swedish massage would be great.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: What kind of massage is that?
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Yeah, what is it? It's just like, you know, it's
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: just a regular massage, like a relaxing massage.
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: Oh.
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: I don't like massages.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Just a technique?
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Well, you're missing out.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Nah.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: No. I'm not.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Trust me, you're missing out.
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: I just don't want to be touched, so leave me alone.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: I want to be like that ball that Dak threw. Untouched.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: We'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: Bye.
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: Bye.
