- 2:02Speaker 3: your host, Shining. Thanks for tuning in with me tonight.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Happy Sunday Funday to everybody. I hope everybody had a
- 2:11Speaker 3: wonderful weekend getting ready to start a new week. So
- 2:17Speaker 3: let's go into this new week with a new perspective,
- 2:20Speaker 3: a new state of mind. Again. Let me introduce myself.
- 2:24Speaker 3: My name is Shining. Welcome to Bad to Business. Bad
- 2:27Speaker 3: to Business again is bringing all diverse discussions to business.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I talk about everything from politics and entertainment to what's
- 2:37Speaker 3: going on in our community. And I take a lot
- 2:40Speaker 3: of different discussions and see what we can bring to
- 2:42Speaker 3: the table to business and see if there's some type
- 2:44Speaker 3: of resolution or even some type of information we can
- 2:48Speaker 3: give out to other people. So continue this journey with me.
- 2:52Speaker 3: As I said on my first podcast, today is a
- 2:56Speaker 3: special one for me. Just getting back into town yesterday,
- 3:00Speaker 3: It's been a long trip. If you can't see, I
- 3:05Speaker 3: am representing LA I just came back from home, I
- 3:09Speaker 3: went to my father's home gum going and it was
- 3:14Speaker 3: again quite a trip from beginning to end. But I
- 3:19Speaker 3: wanted to talk to you guys today about that journey and.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Kind of share some things with y'all.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And I hope you learn something and you know, be
- 3:30Speaker 3: fed to go feed somebody else. If it ain't for you,
- 3:32Speaker 3: maybe it's for somebody else. So one thing I wanted
- 3:36Speaker 3: to say is that when my dad first passed, the
- 3:41Speaker 3: first thing I asked God was what's going on? You know?
- 3:44Speaker 3: He passed shortly before my mom's fourth year anniversary of passing,
- 3:51Speaker 3: and that was a really hard hit. But God has
- 3:56Speaker 3: his own plans. Me and my dad had our own plans.
- 3:59Speaker 3: They just didn't mix. So that's okay. God is better
- 4:04Speaker 3: at this than I am. So, like I said, when
- 4:09Speaker 3: my dad passed, the first thing I asked God was
- 4:11Speaker 3: what's going on?
- 4:13Speaker 4: You know this this was not supposed to be this way.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I know I'm not necessarily questioning God, but it was
- 4:20Speaker 3: more so like, okay, what next? Now I'm really looking
- 4:23Speaker 3: for guidance. When my mom passed, kind of walked away,
- 4:26Speaker 3: didn't really want to listen to anything, had to go
- 4:28Speaker 3: my own way. Get a different understanding. I did lean
- 4:31Speaker 3: on my own understanding of feeling better. I needed to
- 4:35Speaker 3: feel better immediately, and.
- 4:37Speaker 4: So I went on that.
- 4:39Speaker 3: But I went to God and I told him, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 3: this hit differently, so I need to walk away a
- 4:43Speaker 3: little bit.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I need to do something else. And he allowed me
- 4:47Speaker 4: that time.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It was almost like I heard him say, Okay, I
- 4:50Speaker 3: get it, I understand, and so I walked away a
- 4:54Speaker 3: little bit, did my own thing, and just I really
- 4:59Speaker 3: I guess when I say all I walked away. I
- 5:01Speaker 3: really didn't communicate with God too much, try to see
- 5:04Speaker 3: what was really going on or look for comfort from him.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I figured that if he could provide comfort, he wouldn't
- 5:11Speaker 3: have taken it in the first place. That's where my
- 5:15Speaker 3: mind was at that time. But he allowed me to
- 5:18Speaker 3: walk away. He still covered me in everything I did.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I still maintained a job, even though my mind wasn't
- 5:25Speaker 3: really right. I still was able to raise my children,
- 5:29Speaker 3: even though I wasn't in the perfect state of a mother.
- 5:33Speaker 3: He covered me. He did what he needed to do
- 5:36Speaker 3: this time. However, when my dad passed, I told him
- 5:39Speaker 3: I'm not walking away. I gotta see what this means.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Something is going on. So this time I'm upset, I'm hurt,
- 5:46Speaker 3: but I'm gonna rock with you this time. I want
- 5:48Speaker 3: to see what you got planned. I want to see
- 5:50Speaker 3: what comes out of this. I don't think I think
- 5:52Speaker 3: I wasted time with my mom's passing and not seeing
- 5:55Speaker 3: what the message was, the blessing was, the blessing was.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I wasn't sticking around for that. I didn't think that
- 6:02Speaker 3: that really had a purpose. But this time I wanted
- 6:08Speaker 3: to see. I didn't want to waste any time. I
- 6:11Speaker 3: told God, I'm upset, I'm hurt, but let me see
- 6:14Speaker 3: what you got in store. Let me see what your
- 6:17Speaker 3: plan could possibly be for this to happen. At this time,
- 6:21Speaker 3: just starting a new podcast, starting a new chapter in
- 6:24Speaker 3: my life, telling my dad about it. We talked about
- 6:28Speaker 3: different things. He gave me different perspectives on a couple
- 6:32Speaker 3: of things I'll be talking about in my show. So
- 6:35Speaker 3: I thought that things were set. It was good, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 3: at least for the next couple of months or however
- 6:44Speaker 3: timing goes.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But didn't happen.
- 6:47Speaker 3: So my dad passes, I ask God, Okay, I'm sticking
- 6:51Speaker 3: with you. What are we doing here this time? I
- 6:55Speaker 3: want to see I'm seeking you. I want to see
- 6:57Speaker 3: your works. I'm listening for whatever word you have for me.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I'm looking for whatever opportunity. And my request with him
- 7:07Speaker 3: was a little funny this time, because I said, I
- 7:09Speaker 3: need you to show up. I need you to show
- 7:12Speaker 3: up for me. I don't want you to talk through people.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I don't want to see you know, just little gems.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I need you to show up in a big, miraculous way.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I got to see that this is the grand plan,
- 7:27Speaker 3: this is what I wanted to see, and that way
- 7:30Speaker 3: I would have known. Okay, this is why I had
- 7:34Speaker 3: to see it in a big way. This was my
- 7:36Speaker 3: small request, if you will. And so when I started
- 7:42Speaker 3: on that, Okay, Lord, I'm mad, I'm hurt. But what
- 7:45Speaker 3: are we doing? What are we doing here? The first
- 7:50Speaker 3: response I got when I said, Lord, what do you
- 7:53Speaker 3: want me to do now? He said, or it came
- 8:00Speaker 3: to me and said go show up, said go show up.
- 8:08Speaker 4: That was it.
- 8:10Speaker 3: And I remember saying, go where and show up for who?
- 8:14Speaker 3: Because I'm asking for me. I'm asking you to show
- 8:16Speaker 3: up for me, So go where, show up for who.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I didn't hear too much more than that, And as
- 8:26Speaker 3: I'm coming to learn, and respect and honor. Understand that
- 8:32Speaker 3: God's word is what it is. He is one of
- 8:36Speaker 3: those He said what he said, go show up.
- 8:41Speaker 4: So I continue to ask go and show up where?
- 8:43Speaker 3: So I guess once it kind of settled in my spirit,
- 8:46Speaker 3: it was kind of like, go where you're needed to
- 8:50Speaker 3: show up how you need to, So kind of taking
- 8:55Speaker 3: that into perspective, I was more aware of my surrounding,
- 9:00Speaker 3: if you will, I got less angry with him. I
- 9:04Speaker 3: tried to understand what that meant. So I didn't want
- 9:07Speaker 3: to miss anything by being angry, by being so hurt.
- 9:11Speaker 3: As my brother taught in a Bible study, don't let
- 9:13Speaker 3: your purpose get in the way of your feelings. You know,
- 9:15Speaker 3: God doesn't care as much about your feelings as you
- 9:18Speaker 3: care about your purpose. So I didn't want my feelings
- 9:22Speaker 3: to get so much in a way. So if he
- 9:24Speaker 3: told me go show up, let me see what that meant.
- 9:27Speaker 3: What opportunities must you be allotting for me to go
- 9:31Speaker 3: and show up for? So again, I've looked for those opportunities.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And so when it was time to go home for
- 9:44Speaker 3: this homeome going, I was very mindful and very watchful
- 9:50Speaker 3: of what things would come up. You know, what what
- 9:55Speaker 3: people I would run into again going back home. It's
- 9:59Speaker 3: got to some comfortable opportunities. It's got to be something there,
- 10:03Speaker 3: it's got to be this. So okay, then let's do that.
- 10:06Speaker 3: It's time to go home. I have an open mind
- 10:08Speaker 3: about going to this homegoing. I'm not going to be
- 10:11Speaker 3: too upset to uptight. I don't want to have too
- 10:13Speaker 3: much emotion, too many feelings, especially about flying with everything
- 10:17Speaker 3: going on with these airplanes.
- 10:20Speaker 4: But let's see.
- 10:24Speaker 3: But when I tell y'all this was a journey from
- 10:27Speaker 3: beginning to end, I wish I could give you every detail.
- 10:32Speaker 3: But some things are just meant for you to experience.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Some things you're able to give a testimony on. And
- 10:37Speaker 3: so I'm going to try to give y'all as much
- 10:41Speaker 3: of the testimony as I can and what a little
- 10:46Speaker 3: bit of the experience.
- 10:47Speaker 4: So so I go home, and.
- 10:54Speaker 3: One of my first things I can say was a
- 10:56Speaker 3: blessing for me is that you know, when I when
- 10:59Speaker 3: I fly, I try to do any layovers.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I try not to do you know, a NonStop and.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Just so that I don't get any baggage issues and
- 11:10Speaker 3: stuff like that. So you know, I know it's cheaper
- 11:12Speaker 3: to do it whatever way, but I just try to
- 11:15Speaker 3: get straight through. Well, this particular time, you know, I
- 11:18Speaker 3: was flying with my sister and it was last minute,
- 11:20Speaker 3: so we had to get what we could get, and
- 11:22Speaker 3: one of the stops we were able to stop in
- 11:24Speaker 3: was Denver, Colorado, and that's gone that happens to be
- 11:29Speaker 3: one of the places that I've always wanted to go
- 11:31Speaker 3: visit live since I was a teenager.
- 11:34Speaker 4: So I thought that was pretty cool.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And immediately, you know, we thank God for all things
- 11:40Speaker 3: and all experiences. So when I was like, dang, I
- 11:42Speaker 3: get to go to Denver, Colorado. See how it is,
- 11:44Speaker 3: you know, look at some things. I got a little
- 11:46Speaker 3: stop there, I was like, well, thank you got for
- 11:49Speaker 3: letting me experience that.
- 11:51Speaker 4: That's kind of cool. So we get there, we have
- 11:53Speaker 4: that layover. It was Denver, Colorado is big airport.
- 12:01Speaker 3: We didn't know that at the time, but when we
- 12:05Speaker 3: get there, the guy somehow I booked my ticket to
- 12:10Speaker 3: where I have wheelchair service. I'll say that I don't
- 12:13Speaker 3: believe in coincidences. I just believe in perfect timing, and
- 12:16Speaker 3: that's all in God's plan too. So where I see
- 12:19Speaker 3: this perfect timing, coincidences or whatever, I know that that's
- 12:23Speaker 3: God in the miss. So we are in Denver, Colorado,
- 12:28Speaker 3: this guy, you know, we it's a short layover, but
- 12:31Speaker 3: we get to pass through season things and we get
- 12:33Speaker 3: to the gate and the guy somehow my sister passes
- 12:37Speaker 3: me and she says, you know, my name Shining, and
- 12:42Speaker 3: the guy says, yeah, I have her, and he has
- 12:44Speaker 3: me on this little name monitor thing and I'm like, really,
- 12:48Speaker 3: you have me and he has my name on there
- 12:53Speaker 3: and he's like, okay, you guys need wheelchair service. Okay,
- 12:56Speaker 3: well definitely, because one this is our first time there,
- 12:59Speaker 3: and two trying to hurry up and get to this
- 13:01Speaker 3: next gate, and we got to use the bathroom all
- 13:04Speaker 3: these things. So he said, well, come on, sit down.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I'll get you guys straight there. He takes us to
- 13:08Speaker 3: the bathroom, go to the bathroom. Shout out to Barron,
- 13:12Speaker 3: if you get to watch the show, thank you very
- 13:14Speaker 3: much for what you did. But he gets us on
- 13:18Speaker 3: there and we go to the bathroom and he said, well,
- 13:20Speaker 3: come on, because it looks like your plane is actually
- 13:23Speaker 3: boarding now or layover somehow got cut short, whatever the
- 13:26Speaker 3: case may be.
- 13:27Speaker 4: He runs us through the airport. He gets us there.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Of course he knows it and as my sister confirmed,
- 13:34Speaker 3: we wouldn't have been able to get there without him,
- 13:37Speaker 3: especially with his expeditious service he gave us. So that
- 13:42Speaker 3: was a good experience. Like I said, I got to
- 13:44Speaker 3: visit Denver and we had curbside service if you will,
- 13:51Speaker 3: where we needed it, right on time as he is.
- 13:54Speaker 4: So we go through Denver.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Denver is our one stop before we get to La.
- 14:01Speaker 3: So we're in La, we start to experience things. We
- 14:07Speaker 3: get there, it's the time for the wake, and it.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Was a beautiful service.
- 14:13Speaker 3: It was everything we could have expected, being the fact
- 14:19Speaker 3: that it was on the other side of the world.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And when I say that, we couldn't have too much
- 14:22Speaker 3: of our hands in it. And that can sometimes give
- 14:26Speaker 3: you some anxieties not being in the know of some
- 14:28Speaker 3: things when it comes to your family, but when you
- 14:31Speaker 3: trust God, there's nothing that you really got to be
- 14:35Speaker 3: worried about. Once our family accepted on this end that
- 14:40Speaker 3: there was only so much we can do while things
- 14:42Speaker 3: are being handled in California. We're here where we are
- 14:47Speaker 3: in a different state, we were able to kind of
- 14:50Speaker 3: calm it down. So God was really good with that.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So we get there.
- 14:56Speaker 4: It was a beautiful service. I meet a lot of people.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It was really emotional, and one thing I asked God
- 15:04Speaker 3: was give me the strength to not just break down again,
- 15:07Speaker 3: not trying to let my feelings getting away of my purpose,
- 15:10Speaker 3: because me breaking down is going to make me angrier,
- 15:13Speaker 3: make me feel things I don't want to do those things, right.
- 15:17Speaker 3: So I get there and I'm kind of able to withstand,
- 15:22Speaker 3: and I have this thing where, see, the last time
- 15:24Speaker 3: I saw my dad, he was laughing and smiling and breathing,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and that's the way I wanted to remember him, and
- 15:35Speaker 3: I didn't want to see him in any other form.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Same way I felt about my mom. I don't want
- 15:42Speaker 3: to see them. I don't want my last memory of
- 15:44Speaker 3: them to be or anyone to be where I don't
- 15:48Speaker 3: see them at their happiest or at their best condition
- 15:52Speaker 3: or ment condition, whatever, just I can't see nothing. So
- 15:56Speaker 3: I didn't want to be emotional, and for the most part,
- 16:02Speaker 3: God was able to hold me together as much as possible.
- 16:07Speaker 3: But I did feel the emotion of anger coming over again,
- 16:10Speaker 3: because now you know, of course, I'm dealing with the
- 16:12Speaker 3: reality of It's one thing to kind of expect one thing,
- 16:16Speaker 3: but it's another thing to be there dealing with it.
- 16:21Speaker 3: So it was a little hard, but I do know
- 16:26Speaker 3: that God was in the misty showed up. I met
- 16:28Speaker 3: some really good people, good comforting things, and I got
- 16:31Speaker 3: to see that things were under control.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Again, this is at the wake, So this is a day.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Before we prepare for the finale, if you of the
- 16:41Speaker 3: homegoing service actual actually so again, I get there, get
- 16:49Speaker 3: everything under control, and.
- 16:55Speaker 4: The next day so we get there.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I know I'm missing some of the experience and stuff
- 17:00Speaker 3: I got in there from renting the car and how
- 17:03Speaker 3: it seemed like things weren't gonna work out, and how
- 17:06Speaker 3: somehow the guy I wasn't able to find my boarding
- 17:08Speaker 3: past at the time, the guy needed it for the
- 17:10Speaker 3: rental car and he wasn't going to rent it to me.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And then he said, you know what, all types of
- 17:15Speaker 3: things were going on that actually opened the doors open.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Those are little things, but like I said, I'll try
- 17:22Speaker 3: to share as many testimonies and experiences with you in
- 17:24Speaker 3: this little time I have as possible.
- 17:27Speaker 4: But so we did the way. Now we're preparing for
- 17:31Speaker 4: the homegoing.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I get to see a little bit of my family,
- 17:35Speaker 3: see my sisters. I love you all. Thank you all
- 17:38Speaker 3: for your support. And everything that you do and we
- 17:41Speaker 3: do for each other, God is just really in the
- 17:43Speaker 3: midst of this. So the next day we head there
- 17:49Speaker 3: and we go to the service, and there were i'd
- 17:56Speaker 3: have to honestly say, more people there than I thought
- 17:58Speaker 3: there would be. I didn't know that my dad meant
- 18:06Speaker 3: so much to other people as he did to me.
- 18:11Speaker 3: And I will tell y'all that that was a sign
- 18:14Speaker 3: to me from God. Again, nothing that anyone else could
- 18:18Speaker 3: have done for me shown me told me was how
- 18:22Speaker 3: much my dad meant to other people. So being able
- 18:28Speaker 3: to be there and I see that these people showed
- 18:32Speaker 3: up for him, friends and coworkers, that was a blessing.
- 18:38Speaker 3: That was again, to say the least, so comforting to
- 18:43Speaker 3: see that.
- 18:44Speaker 4: I was amazed.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Because I didn't know the other end. Again, my dad
- 18:49Speaker 3: he worked in California while he lived in Atlanta, Georgia,
- 18:53Speaker 3: so two separate lifestyles, I can say. So these people
- 19:01Speaker 3: that he knew on the outskirts were strangers to me.
- 19:08Speaker 3: But anyway, it was comforting. And then out of the blue,
- 19:14Speaker 3: I was asked to do his eulogy. I was not
- 19:21Speaker 3: asked prior to do it, but in the program it
- 19:26Speaker 3: had my name to do so, as though it was
- 19:28Speaker 3: already planned for me to do so. So I said, okay, well,
- 19:34Speaker 3: you know I have no problem his sister asked me
- 19:36Speaker 3: to do it. Said I have no problem with that,
- 19:37Speaker 3: and she said, well, if you feel uncomfortable, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 3: we can go ahead and get somebody else do I said, no,
- 19:42Speaker 3: I feel very comfortable and I feel very honored to
- 19:44Speaker 3: do so so, and thank you for including me anyway,
- 19:47Speaker 3: because I know again they had things handled over there,
- 19:49Speaker 3: but they somehow included me in that. So I said, well,
- 19:53Speaker 3: I thought that I was just, you know, sitting to
- 19:55Speaker 3: enjoy the homegoing. But let me go get my reading glasses,
- 19:59Speaker 3: go do what I need to do. So I went
- 20:02Speaker 3: outside and I told God, okay, this is where you
- 20:05Speaker 3: show up, right, because I was barely prepared to read
- 20:14Speaker 3: the poem that I had prepared to read, dealing with
- 20:19Speaker 3: my emotions, not wanting to cry.
- 20:22Speaker 4: So you.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Opening the door to an opportunity for me to read
- 20:27Speaker 3: this eulogy. This this is big, right, this is big,
- 20:32Speaker 3: So you must be here in the midst of this.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I can't say no, so I said, you know, one
- 20:39Speaker 3: thing that I've been praying for is the confidence to
- 20:41Speaker 3: speak more and do more, especially with starting a new podcast.
- 20:46Speaker 3: It is a dream of mine come true. One of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the reasons why is because and always talking to my
- 20:51Speaker 3: friends and family, I can talk about everything. I can
- 20:55Speaker 3: talk about anything and everything, you know, So being able
- 21:02Speaker 3: to just be more comfortable with speaking to any and
- 21:05Speaker 3: everybody at that point is a challenge for me. But
- 21:11Speaker 3: so I've been asking God to show up there, so
- 21:13Speaker 3: he knows that I've been asking for the blessing, the confidence,
- 21:16Speaker 3: the strength for Him to show up in my life
- 21:19Speaker 3: on this podcast as well. So I said, okay, so
- 21:23Speaker 3: you're giving me this opportunity to speak at this eulogy,
- 21:26Speaker 3: I'm definitely going to do what I can do. Okay,
- 21:32Speaker 3: here's the opportunity. This is what we're doing. But I
- 21:36Speaker 3: also saw it as an opportunity to read that poem
- 21:38Speaker 3: without crying. I said, well, if I got to read
- 21:40Speaker 3: this eulogy, right, I'm just gonna read these words Asis,
- 21:44Speaker 3: I'm just gonna read these words.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I'm just going to and then I'm gonna go straight
- 21:48Speaker 4: into the poem.
- 21:49Speaker 3: So cool. You plan this well, again, your plan, not mine.
- 21:53Speaker 3: You plan this well. I got up there and I
- 22:02Speaker 3: read the eulogy, and it was so short, because you know,
- 22:10Speaker 3: it's on a program, and it was so short to
- 22:13Speaker 3: describe the beginning, the middle, and the end. And I
- 22:19Speaker 3: felt compelled to speak.
- 22:22Speaker 4: To a room full of strangers excuse me, hm that.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I didn't know, and I asked God to be with me,
- 22:39Speaker 3: and he was. I was so comfort comfortable with doing this,
- 22:46Speaker 3: And what I said was, I know that this is
- 22:49Speaker 3: short for the program. I know this is how this goes.
- 22:54Speaker 3: But my dad was so much more than what this
- 22:57Speaker 3: these short paragraphs say. And being able to explain to
- 23:02Speaker 3: these people who my dad was and what he meant
- 23:05Speaker 3: to me and my family, how he was a hero,
- 23:08Speaker 3: and how he showed up for different things and you know.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Again, how you just showed up.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It was a blessing to not only be able to
- 23:19Speaker 3: tell people, but to be so comfortable with doing so
- 23:24Speaker 3: that confidence I felt with doing something so righteous in
- 23:30Speaker 3: my heart, It was a newfound thing for me. So
- 23:37Speaker 3: after saying that, after doing the speech, now it's time
- 23:41Speaker 3: to read my poem, which always brought me to tears.
- 23:44Speaker 3: When I got ready to read it, and I was
- 23:46Speaker 3: able to read it without a tear drop, what I
- 23:52Speaker 3: saw was that it needed to be said the words,
- 23:55Speaker 3: and it meant so much as far as just healing.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I won't go into it. Said some things are testimony
- 24:01Speaker 3: and some things are an experience, and it was definitely
- 24:04Speaker 3: just an experience for those who were there. But the
- 24:07Speaker 3: poem meant so much and the words meant so much
- 24:10Speaker 3: to healing and being able to move forward and being
- 24:14Speaker 3: able to let God do what he do, that it
- 24:19Speaker 3: needed to be said.
- 24:20Speaker 4: And then that led right into being comfortable.
- 24:22Speaker 3: So I will say that that right there, that experience
- 24:27Speaker 3: was God showing up for me. When I walked outside
- 24:30Speaker 3: and I told him, this must be where you show up.
- 24:32Speaker 4: He definitely did.
- 24:34Speaker 3: And that's one thing that I wanted to really talk
- 24:36Speaker 3: about on this show today, was you know when when
- 24:42Speaker 3: you ask God to show up and he actually does,
- 24:47Speaker 3: what an experience, How great it is, and so you
- 24:51Speaker 3: don't give up on calling on him doing things like that.
- 24:59Speaker 3: So that was It's great we did that. My dad
- 25:04Speaker 3: was laid with my mom. How they planned things to go,
- 25:07Speaker 3: They married each other and then they went with each other.
- 25:09Speaker 3: So that's how that went, and it again was a
- 25:13Speaker 3: beautiful service. Everything just went the way it was supposed to.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I got to see one of my uncles that I
- 25:20Speaker 3: hadn't been able to talk to and a couple of
- 25:23Speaker 3: years due to some family conflict between he and I.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I had had it in my mind before I went
- 25:29Speaker 3: to California that I wanted to talk to him. Didn't
- 25:32Speaker 3: know how, but I kind of wanted to end whatever conflict.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Whether this was the time to do it or not,
- 25:37Speaker 3: I just didn't want to leave there with things unsettled.
- 25:41Speaker 3: There's been so many times I've gone back home and
- 25:45Speaker 3: left with things unsettled and brought it back with me.
- 25:48Speaker 3: So side note, this was one of those journeys or
- 25:51Speaker 3: trips that I said, you know what, this time, when
- 25:53Speaker 3: I go, I'm gonna leave some stuff there. Some things.
- 25:56Speaker 3: It seems like every time I go and something bad
- 25:58Speaker 3: happens at home, I bring it back with me and
- 26:03Speaker 3: there's really nothing I can do with it in a
- 26:04Speaker 3: different state. And the people that I've taken it from,
- 26:07Speaker 3: the baggage and everything else, they're not dealing with it,
- 26:10Speaker 3: they're not carrying it. But I've brought it with me
- 26:13Speaker 3: to carry with my children and my family to not
- 26:16Speaker 3: be as happy as I can be because I'm carrying
- 26:18Speaker 3: some luggage that I should have left that you know
- 26:21Speaker 3: at the least that lax, but no I brought it,
- 26:26Speaker 3: so this time I wanted to leave it. I never
- 26:30Speaker 3: saw the right time to really talk to my uncle.
- 26:33Speaker 3: But God did as he does. God did, so I
- 26:42Speaker 3: got to talk to my uncle. We got to resolve
- 26:45Speaker 3: some things, and we realized that we really just misunderstood
- 26:48Speaker 3: each other. We came to a mutual understanding that he
- 26:52Speaker 3: could have handled some things differently and said some different
- 26:55Speaker 3: words as I could have, and we realized how important
- 26:59Speaker 3: it is to just really talk again, bring your diverse
- 27:03Speaker 3: discussions to business. It doesn't have to stay in conflict.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Sometimes you'll be in conflict for so long with such
- 27:11Speaker 3: an easy resolution. It's not worth your time, the time
- 27:14Speaker 3: we don't have, or the time we don't know if
- 27:15Speaker 3: we have. So getting to talk to my uncle was
- 27:19Speaker 3: a whole blessing because it's been some years, and the
- 27:24Speaker 3: love that we got to exchange and reciprocate, and the
- 27:28Speaker 3: understanding that we came to. He's a really funny man,
- 27:32Speaker 3: a musician as well, so we got to talk about
- 27:35Speaker 3: a lot of different things and it was just it
- 27:37Speaker 3: was wonderful. It was everything I needed it to be.
- 27:43Speaker 3: So I left there in peace, with that. So again
- 27:46Speaker 3: God showing up where I didn't expect him to, but
- 27:48Speaker 3: I asked him to wherever show up and he did.
- 27:55Speaker 3: So I get to do that and I get to
- 27:58Speaker 3: finalize the When I say these, I get to do
- 28:02Speaker 3: it means what I was able to do with finding
- 28:04Speaker 3: peace in my spirit.
- 28:06Speaker 4: I get to.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Finalize my mom and my dad. I remember when they
- 28:12Speaker 3: sealed the things. I said, it is finished. I was
- 28:15Speaker 3: able to say that. For people who know me, they
- 28:18Speaker 3: know that I do honor my mom and my dad
- 28:21Speaker 3: a lot, and even in their passing, I do. And
- 28:26Speaker 3: there's some things that, as I've talked to my siblings about,
- 28:30Speaker 3: may hold a bondage over me, you know, not completely
- 28:35Speaker 3: letting go. One of the things that I learned with
- 28:38Speaker 3: at my dad's passing is when he was still alive,
- 28:41Speaker 3: I held to him a standard of still being my
- 28:45Speaker 3: mother's husband. So as long as he was my mother's husband,
- 28:48Speaker 3: there was still an existence of my mom. But letting
- 28:52Speaker 3: him go was like a double whammy to me because
- 28:54Speaker 3: it was like I'm sorry. Giving him back was like
- 28:59Speaker 3: a double whamy to me because it was like now
- 29:03Speaker 3: it is finished. You know, the marriage is what it is.
- 29:06Speaker 3: It's y'all too now, and I have nothing to do
- 29:09Speaker 3: with that, no communication, can't celebrate any anniversaries with you,
- 29:13Speaker 3: things like that. So that in itself was something to
- 29:19Speaker 3: deal with. So I had to leave that there and
- 29:25Speaker 3: being able to talk to my uncle and that baggage
- 29:28Speaker 3: that was so heavy that I even when I didn't
- 29:32Speaker 3: talk to him when I went back to California, I
- 29:33Speaker 3: still had that feeling of I can't go visit my
- 29:36Speaker 3: uncle who's there because I don't really talk to him.
- 29:38Speaker 3: I got to leave that alone. I got to leave
- 29:41Speaker 3: that wherever it lied dead. I got to leave it
- 29:45Speaker 3: dormant and not continue to travel with it, not continue
- 29:48Speaker 3: to bring it with me in my life. That was
- 29:50Speaker 3: great for me, And then you know, I get to
- 29:57Speaker 3: I got to spend some time with my family, got
- 29:59Speaker 3: to to see some people that I haven't seen in
- 30:02Speaker 3: a while. I didn't get to see my best friend.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Shout out to Genie. I wish I had saw your
- 30:05Speaker 3: baby girl. But next time. One thing my sister reminded
- 30:09Speaker 3: me of is that this wasn't that kind of trip.
- 30:11Speaker 3: You know. I wish we could have done more, seen more,
- 30:16Speaker 3: visited more people, but we did what was necessary to
- 30:23Speaker 3: replenish our spirit at this time, and sometimes you got
- 30:27Speaker 3: to realize you do what's necessary to replenish you don't
- 30:30Speaker 3: don't try to overdo it, don't get over stuff, don't
- 30:32Speaker 3: be a glutton, just do what's necessary to replenish your spirit.
- 30:36Speaker 4: And was definitely able to do that.
- 30:38Speaker 3: So got to see some family, talk to some people,
- 30:43Speaker 3: get some good information against things I'll be sharing with
- 30:46Speaker 3: you guys and further podcasts. It's always good to talk
- 30:50Speaker 3: to people, bring some diverse discussions into this thing, and
- 30:55Speaker 3: be able to talk to you guys about some things
- 30:58Speaker 3: I've learned.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Some things we get to talk about. I can't wait.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I can't wait to see your opinions on something, so
- 31:05Speaker 3: stick with me. But anyway, so now it's time to
- 31:08Speaker 3: come back home, and I got to spend the last
- 31:13Speaker 3: evenings with my sisters and what I call my safety
- 31:18Speaker 3: sister circle. It was awesome and amazing to be around
- 31:24Speaker 3: such comforting and loving women. Of course, you call a
- 31:29Speaker 3: lot of women your sisters who are like that, but
- 31:32Speaker 3: these were women who were like that and really my
- 31:34Speaker 3: blood sisters I love, y'all, and one of my sisters
- 31:38Speaker 3: I got to talk to about this. So this is
- 31:40Speaker 3: something that came on my heart. So when I talk
- 31:42Speaker 3: about go and show up. I was talking to her
- 31:46Speaker 3: and I said, you know, one of your friends calls
- 31:48Speaker 3: you and says, hey, girl, let's go out. Let's go
- 31:51Speaker 3: on this trip. I want to go to Jamaica. And
- 31:54Speaker 3: you're like, okay, yeah, definitely I want to go. You
- 31:57Speaker 3: get to call in the travel agent, get to save
- 31:59Speaker 3: them money, get to go and shopping.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I definitely want to go.
- 32:03Speaker 3: You prepare to go on this trip to Jamaica, Bahamas,
- 32:06Speaker 3: wherever you're gonna go. You prepare to go on this trip,
- 32:11Speaker 3: and you go. You have fun, you have experiences, you
- 32:13Speaker 3: have memories. Great, you had a great time. But what
- 32:20Speaker 3: about when God calls you to go to go somewhere,
- 32:25Speaker 3: to go on a trip, to go on a journey.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Do you start to prepare yourself? Do you answer him
- 32:32Speaker 3: and say, God, yes, I'll go. That sounds like that's
- 32:35Speaker 3: what I need to do. I feel it, That's what
- 32:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna do. Or do we hesitate? Do we you know,
- 32:44Speaker 3: do we tell him all the reasons why we can't.
- 32:46Speaker 3: I don't I don't have the money, I don't have
- 32:47Speaker 3: the resources, I don't have these things to do what
- 32:51Speaker 3: you're calling me to do, the trip you want me
- 32:53Speaker 3: to go on, the journey. I don't have the courage,
- 32:56Speaker 3: you know, the experience like Moses, I don't. I don't
- 33:01Speaker 3: have everything you want me to do to be able
- 33:04Speaker 3: to do this. And that was something that I really
- 33:11Speaker 3: had to ponder on how quickly we are to jump
- 33:14Speaker 3: to a person for a fun trip or for something
- 33:17Speaker 3: that feels good, or something that's gonna seem great for
- 33:22Speaker 3: an experience, and then when God calls us to go
- 33:25Speaker 3: and show up, we hesitate. We're not looking for what
- 33:29Speaker 3: experiences we can get out of it, what memories and
- 33:32Speaker 3: all those things. And you know what, one thing I've
- 33:37Speaker 3: learned with God is that you know, with your friends,
- 33:40Speaker 3: it may be all expenses paid, but with God, it's
- 33:44Speaker 3: like all equipped and slaved. Everything you need will be
- 33:49Speaker 3: already there. You know, God shouldn't have to reassure you
- 33:52Speaker 3: for that. If God's calling you to go somewhere, He's
- 33:54Speaker 3: already there. He's already prepared for your words, your strength,
- 33:58Speaker 3: your encouragement, the people you need to be there, to
- 34:00Speaker 3: people to rush you through the airport, those things. He's
- 34:03Speaker 3: already prepared those things for you. With your friend she's
- 34:07Speaker 3: telling you, y'all got to get some stuff together. But
- 34:09Speaker 3: with God, he's telling you, I got it all together.
- 34:11Speaker 3: He's already there. If he's asking you to go somewhere,
- 34:14Speaker 3: he's already there. It's kind of like, meet me there.
- 34:17Speaker 3: You don't even have to beat him there. You can
- 34:19Speaker 3: meet him there. And that's what I.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Learned in this journey.
- 34:22Speaker 3: When I ask God to show up, and I've been
- 34:25Speaker 3: asking him ever since my dad passed, what do you
- 34:27Speaker 3: want me to do? How does this work? Where are you?
- 34:31Speaker 3: I need you to show me something in a major way.
- 34:33Speaker 4: This time. It's got to be you.
- 34:35Speaker 3: It can't be somebody saying it's gonna be okay and
- 34:38Speaker 3: God said this, and it can't be like that this time.
- 34:41Speaker 3: This time, I need to see you show up in
- 34:43Speaker 3: ways that only you can comfort me, in ways that
- 34:46Speaker 3: only you can speak to me, in ways that only
- 34:48Speaker 3: you know how to speak to me. He did, He did,
- 34:53Speaker 3: and I can tell he's still cooking. He's definitely still cooking.
- 34:56Speaker 3: He let me know that he's not done showing me
- 34:58Speaker 3: those things. There are something that he still needs me
- 35:02Speaker 3: to do. He one thing he told to me, or
- 35:05Speaker 3: the words came to me, the feelings came to me?
- 35:08Speaker 4: Is that.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Shanny, you want me to do some things, but I
- 35:12Speaker 3: can't move until you move some ways. So me telling
- 35:15Speaker 3: him I need you to show up, I need you
- 35:17Speaker 3: to do some things. With my arms cross ain't gonna work.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I gotta be open. So when I say I need
- 35:24Speaker 3: you to do this, I'm looking for big blessings. I'm
- 35:26Speaker 3: looking for miracles. I'm looking for you to show up
- 35:29Speaker 3: in big ways. So when he say okay, go show up,
- 35:31Speaker 3: and I'm like, go where or show up? Where? You
- 35:34Speaker 3: go where the opportunity calls you, you show up in
- 35:37Speaker 3: the ways that you want me to show up too.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Please remember to who much is given, much is required.
- 35:44Speaker 3: So you looking for big blessings, you got to show
- 35:48Speaker 3: up in big ways too. So that's what I'm looking at.
- 35:52Speaker 3: You know, my friends, not yet, we ain't planning no
- 35:55Speaker 3: trips to the Bahamas and Jamaica and stuff. But God
- 35:58Speaker 3: has already called me to go and show up. And
- 36:02Speaker 3: I don't know where, I don't know how, but best believe,
- 36:05Speaker 3: wherever the opportunity calls me to, I'm showing up. I'm
- 36:08Speaker 3: going because I expect him to be there already. He
- 36:11Speaker 3: wouldn't tell me to go and show up. If he
- 36:13Speaker 3: wasn't there, He wouldn't give me an assignment if I
- 36:18Speaker 3: wasn't already ready for it, or it wasn't already equipped
- 36:20Speaker 3: and slaved. I asked God to continue to be in
- 36:26Speaker 3: my life and for things that I know life isn't
- 36:32Speaker 3: gonna be easy, but for the things that I have
- 36:34Speaker 3: to do, please allow me to do it with ease,
- 36:37Speaker 3: because that's what he wants me to do.
- 36:40Speaker 4: So he's been showing up like that.
- 36:44Speaker 3: He's been doing that just in these last couple of weeks,
- 36:47Speaker 3: and I I am so grateful. And one thing I'll
- 36:52Speaker 3: I try to remember and I want you to remember,
- 36:54Speaker 3: is he doesn't call the unequipped. He equips the ones
- 36:59Speaker 3: he calls. So if you call you and you got
- 37:01Speaker 3: to pick up their phone the same way you would
- 37:03Speaker 3: to go to the party, or go to the club,
- 37:07Speaker 3: go to the Bahamas, go on a trip, y'all, make
- 37:12Speaker 3: sure that you show up for God the same way
- 37:14Speaker 3: y'all want him to show it for you. And like
- 37:17Speaker 3: I said, he's still showing up for me in ways
- 37:19Speaker 3: that I've asked him that only he can.
- 37:23Speaker 4: It's those.
- 37:26Speaker 3: It's those answered prayers, in those I'm sorry those yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 3: those answered prayers, in those whispered things I've asked him
- 37:35Speaker 3: for that nobody knows about, and I'm seeing him answer
- 37:40Speaker 3: those things for me. So I really hope that y'all
- 37:43Speaker 3: do what's necessary, show up for God, do what he's
- 37:48Speaker 3: asking you to do. You can't ask for God to
- 37:52Speaker 3: do something for you and you're not really doing it
- 37:54Speaker 3: for him. If you want him to show it big
- 37:57Speaker 3: for you, you got to show it for him too. So
- 38:00Speaker 3: today I just wanted to share with you guys about
- 38:02Speaker 3: how I've been asking God to show up for me
- 38:07Speaker 3: and he basically asked me the same thing, to show
- 38:11Speaker 3: up for him. So I'm here today again. I'm on
- 38:14Speaker 3: this new journey bad to business. I am your host,
- 38:17Speaker 3: shining calling. If you like what's going on, you know, listening,
- 38:24Speaker 3: be watching for me throughout the days, throughout the weeks.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I got some good things coming up, and I hope
- 38:28Speaker 3: that you guys can join in and talk to me
- 38:31Speaker 3: a little bit. If you're looking to be a guest
- 38:33Speaker 3: on my show, please DM me, message me. I'll put
- 38:37Speaker 3: some more ways out there to get in contact with me.
- 38:40Speaker 3: But this is going to be a great thing. So,
- 38:45Speaker 3: like I said, please stay with me. Bad to business,
- 38:50Speaker 3: bringing all diverse discussions to business. And today what we
- 38:53Speaker 3: brought to business is when you asking God to show up,
- 38:58Speaker 3: don't be surprised. If he asked you to show up
- 38:59Speaker 3: to if you don't answer his call, don't be surprised,
