- 0:21Speaker 1: have Lance Brasdowski, and we have everyone's favorite Jonathan Papa
- 0:26Speaker 1: bunn All joining the show today. It's gonna be a
- 0:28Speaker 1: good one. We're very excited. And there he is. Hello.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Hello. Sorry sorry sorry players only picture catcher.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Sorry, I was doing an interview with the people who
- 0:40Speaker 3: set me up with the Pope, so sorry. I couldn't
- 0:43Speaker 3: exactly When the owner of the Bears and the guy
- 0:46Speaker 3: who sets you up to meet the Pope ask you
- 0:48Speaker 3: to do an interview, it's hard to say no, Trevor.
- 0:50Speaker 3: And also at the end, I was like, I gotta go,
- 0:52Speaker 3: and they're like, and the owner of the Bear says, hey,
- 0:54Speaker 3: we have to say a prayer before we go.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I'm not going to cut him off. I'm sorry. I
- 0:57Speaker 2: just couldn't happen. Well is going to happen.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I apologize to the Foul Territory family. I love you guys.
- 1:04Speaker 3: But when the owner of the bear says, hey, we
- 1:06Speaker 3: need to pray, and I'm gonna I'm gonna let them
- 1:09Speaker 3: do it.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I would have done the same thing. So you're forgiving.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Plus I have the papal blessing, so I have now
- 1:20Speaker 3: I'm forgiven from the Pope and from future ever.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So thank you.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Where have you been, by the way, we haven't. We
- 1:27Speaker 3: haven't had you on in a while, So explain where
- 1:29Speaker 3: did you go?
- 1:29Speaker 2: M I A for a while.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yes, I've gone, am I a a little bit? Uh
- 1:34Speaker 1: I now no longer have an infant. I have a toddler.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So that's the whole thing. And uh yeah, just just
- 1:42Speaker 1: a whole lot going on over here at may Day Media.
- 1:45Speaker 1: We're switching, we're switching facilities. I'm trying to build a
- 1:49Speaker 1: pitching lab and get a contractor all lined up. It's
- 1:53Speaker 1: it's been. It's been NonStop every day, all day. My
- 1:55Speaker 1: day starts at five am right now. But I'm having fun.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I'm sure it'll be fun at some point. But if
- 2:02Speaker 1: I say it enough, maybe it'll be true.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Toddlers are fun. Toddlers are fun. You know, here's the thing.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Stage hard babies.
- 2:09Speaker 3: You have a baby, right and they're crying, and they're
- 2:11Speaker 3: pooping in their diaper, and they're doing all the little
- 2:13Speaker 3: things and you say, man, I can't wait till the
- 2:15Speaker 3: baby talks. And then the baby starts talking, and then
- 2:19Speaker 3: for the next sixteen years you're like, I wish the
- 2:20Speaker 3: baby would shut up.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Because as they get through the.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Teenage years, right, and you're like, oh, I wish they
- 2:26Speaker 3: would walk, And then you say, man, I wish they
- 2:27Speaker 3: would stay in the crib because now I know where
- 2:29Speaker 3: they are. So as they get older, and then they
- 2:31Speaker 3: go through those weird ages, you know, eleven, about fourteen
- 2:34Speaker 3: or fifteen, because they're oh dad, mom, dad, they're not
- 2:37Speaker 3: really that cool.
- 2:39Speaker 2: What are we doing? Right?
- 2:40Speaker 3: And then they hit the age where my kids are
- 2:42Speaker 3: twenty and nineteen, and then they're fun because they're adults.
- 2:45Speaker 3: So it's about junior senior year where they're like, oh,
- 2:47Speaker 3: mom and dad aren't that bad anymore.
- 2:48Speaker 2: They're kind of cool.
- 2:49Speaker 3: And then when they get to college, you're like, oh, mom, dad,
- 2:51Speaker 3: we want you to come so you can buy us
- 2:53Speaker 3: food and you can do this and we can hang out.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And then it's like, all right, this is fun again.
- 2:57Speaker 3: So you go through stages. Trevor we'll see.
- 3:00Speaker 2: There's good days and bad days.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm I'm having a blast. He he can walk around,
- 3:05Speaker 1: he thinks I'm cool. Still, he gets excited when I
- 3:06Speaker 1: walk in the rooms. He gets sad. I want to
- 3:08Speaker 1: leave him. So you know, I hear that's uh, that's
- 3:11Speaker 1: the the part that everyone misses when they're when they're
- 3:14Speaker 1: big and uh and fortunate. We got number We also
- 3:17Speaker 1: got number two on the way on in November, and
- 3:19Speaker 1: another little boy, so that family has we got even
- 3:23Speaker 1: boys and our congratulation generation. So we're gonna have We're
- 3:26Speaker 1: having fun. I'm having fun. I'm excited about I'm a
- 3:28Speaker 1: lot happening. It's it's all good stuff itself awesome.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Well, on that note, since you're having another boy, let's
- 3:34Speaker 3: charge them out, all right, here we go Yankees Mason Miller.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Would this be a fit, Trevor. I think it'd be
- 3:45Speaker 3: a great fit. I mean, they love Bednard at the
- 3:47Speaker 3: back end. Their bullpen's actually been really good with Cruise
- 3:50Speaker 3: and uh some of the other pieces Dave assembled. But
- 3:53Speaker 3: I mean, you throw Mason Miller in any bullpen, it's
- 3:55Speaker 3: gonna get better. Can the Yankees do this? I don't know,
- 3:57Speaker 3: I don't know. If they have the prospect cawbal or
- 3:59Speaker 3: do it. But if they're the leading suitor for Mason Miller,
- 4:02Speaker 3: you're the Padres, and you can get some studs or
- 4:05Speaker 3: some younger players to come in and replace what you've
- 4:08Speaker 3: lost over the last couple of years, I say go
- 4:10Speaker 3: for it.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I mean, they're also in a unique situation where they
- 4:14Speaker 1: have guys who can step right into that role too.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That is the padres, right. You know, you can have
- 4:19Speaker 1: a Strata or Adam or or Morne Jane, any of
- 4:23Speaker 1: them can close games. And so it's it's like they
- 4:26Speaker 1: have such a good bullpen already that Yeah, losing Mason
- 4:28Speaker 1: Miller makes any bullpen a lot worse. But if you can,
- 4:33Speaker 1: if you can pull it off and then set yourself
- 4:35Speaker 1: up in the future, you know, because we know they
- 4:36Speaker 1: haven't been scoring runs, we know they are looking to
- 4:39Speaker 1: recharge in that in that way that they got an
- 4:42Speaker 1: aging core. All those things can be addressed with with
- 4:45Speaker 1: a with a reliever because we all know how much
- 4:47Speaker 1: even no matter how good they are, if it's Mace
- 4:49Speaker 1: Miller or Marin Rivera, like the the impact a closer
- 4:54Speaker 1: has on the number of games in a season just
- 4:56Speaker 1: isn't enough to to to like hold on to the
- 5:00Speaker 1: you know with with white knuckles. So you gotta you
- 5:02Speaker 1: gotta get what you can get, especially when they're hot.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And uh, that guy, that guy is gonna be a
- 5:08Speaker 1: hot commodity if he's available. And you know, Bednar has
- 5:11Speaker 1: been great, They've been good in the back end. But
- 5:13Speaker 1: if you add Mason Miller, you can, you can, Then
- 5:15Speaker 1: you get more flexibility and the game's just over. After
- 5:18Speaker 1: one of the if cooking, if all pitching at the
- 5:20Speaker 1: same time, one of the better starting rotations out there
- 5:22Speaker 1: is going, then that's a scary, scary team to match
- 5:26Speaker 1: up against in games that matter.
- 5:29Speaker 3: True, But here's here's my thing. You go they got
- 5:31Speaker 3: Freed back yesterday, he threw five scoreless. You have Coal
- 5:34Speaker 3: back right, you have Schlitler. That's a pretty good top
- 5:37Speaker 3: three in a rotation. Then if you could go Bednar Hill,
- 5:41Speaker 3: Tim Hill has been good for him from the side
- 5:43Speaker 3: arm lefty right. The other lefty they brought in yesterday, Gosh,
- 5:46Speaker 3: I forgot his name and he was dirty. He punched
- 5:48Speaker 3: out the side man. I forgot what his name was.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And then you know, you have Cruiz Bednar Miller. Does
- 5:55Speaker 3: that make the Yankees the favorites in the Americanly, if
- 5:59Speaker 3: Aaron Judge comes about.
- 6:01Speaker 1: That's a that's the that's it right there, that's it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: We're going to talk about my trade. Uh the trades
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'm pointing and I got them. Maybe going for another
- 6:10Speaker 1: position player to add some thump, but we'll talk about
- 6:12Speaker 1: that at that time. But yeah, Aaron Judge is the keystone.
- 6:15Speaker 1: He's been the keystone. He's gonna continue to be the
- 6:16Speaker 1: keystone for this offense, uh, into the into the undetermined
- 6:21Speaker 1: amount of future, Like we you need him back or
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're just not going to be cooking on all cylinders.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So they have to get back. But if they do,
- 6:27Speaker 1: he's probably just gonna be the same Aaron Judge we
- 6:30Speaker 1: always see. And yeah, I would put them as a
- 6:32Speaker 1: as a terrifying team to match up with in the
- 6:36Speaker 1: postseason because they have their they have their winning ways.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's just not a not a very fun place to
- 6:41Speaker 1: go play in Yankee Stadium. If you can have a
- 6:44Speaker 1: you can if you can have one of the best bullpens,
- 6:47Speaker 1: starting rotations and ability to score runs with the middle
- 6:50Speaker 1: of their lineup, there's not much else you can do
- 6:53Speaker 1: at that point, Like you just got to go EXQ
- 6:55Speaker 1: at that point.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I agreed.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I mean in Hedrick, Brent Hedrick, because the guy who's
- 7:00Speaker 3: talking about is a one three era from the left
- 7:03Speaker 3: side out of the bullpen. He's been disgusting.
- 7:07Speaker 1: What if you can actually have it all?
- 7:09Speaker 5: And I'm talking about Mintmobile taking the premium wireless bouginess crats,
- 7:15Speaker 5: but then bringing it to the transparency in pricing and
- 7:19Speaker 5: the affordability in pricing.
- 7:21Speaker 6: They're going to lay everything out there with a cheap
- 7:23Speaker 6: bill that you know what everybody can handle right now.
- 7:27Speaker 5: You can even bring your current phone and your number.
- 7:30Speaker 5: If you're thinking about it and you're like, I'm worried
- 7:31Speaker 5: about that, No worries. They have you covered because they're
- 7:34Speaker 5: able to convert people all the time to the Mintmobile way.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Go to mintmobile dot com slash territory. That's mintmobile dot
- 7:41Speaker 5: com slash territory. Cut your wireless bill to fifteen bucks
- 7:44Speaker 5: a month at mintmobile dot com slash territory.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That's it.
- 7:46Speaker 5: There's no catch upfront payment of forty five dollars for
- 7:49Speaker 5: three months, ninety dollars for six months, or one hundred
- 7:52Speaker 5: and eighty dollars for twelve month plan required fifteen dollars
- 7:55Speaker 5: per month equivalent taxes and fees extra initial plan term
- 7:58Speaker 5: only greater than fifty gig bites may slow when network
- 8:01Speaker 5: is busy. Includes up to twenty gigabyte hotspot capable device
- 8:04Speaker 5: required availability, speed and coverage varies. Cemittmobile dot Com.
- 8:09Speaker 2: One guy we can't we haven't heard about.
- 8:11Speaker 3: He's supposed to be getting close to coming back, but
- 8:12Speaker 3: it's always he's on rehab and then he gets hurt.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Is John Carlos Stanton. You Stanton judge in the middle
- 8:18Speaker 3: of this lineup with Ben Rice. Cody Bellinger was an
- 8:20Speaker 3: All Star this year. If they can figure out the
- 8:22Speaker 3: catching situation and get Austin Wells going, Jason Dimingez has
- 8:26Speaker 3: looked better recently. Spencer Jones is there and I don't
- 8:30Speaker 3: know what they're going to do with him again. The
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yankees are nasty and with Domingos and Spencer Jones pushing
- 8:36Speaker 3: for full time outfield play, is this Could this be
- 8:38Speaker 3: the last time we see John Carlos Stanton is a Yankee.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I think I feel like we've been maybe floating this question.
- 8:46Speaker 1: It's been out there for a little bit just because
- 8:48Speaker 1: of his injury. I mean, he's got quite the extensive
- 8:52Speaker 1: injury repertoire. I think that we did a we did
- 8:56Speaker 1: a review I think last season, and I think he'd
- 8:58Speaker 1: almost hurt every single body part at some point for
- 9:02Speaker 1: the il since he's been a Yankee. But the sad
- 9:04Speaker 1: part about it is he's so productive when he's healthy.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Uh he's so dangerous when he's healthy, and he's been,
- 9:10Speaker 1: especially in the postseason, one of their one of their
- 9:13Speaker 1: best players. Uh So, but if you're not on the field,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. And going to youth is something that
- 9:20Speaker 1: every team's always think about. Anyways, Yeah, this could be
- 9:22Speaker 1: the last raw. You know, hopefully he can get back
- 9:26Speaker 1: and stay stay back for a while, but we'll have
- 9:29Speaker 1: to wait and see. There's just been a lot of
- 9:30Speaker 1: like weird. I mean, the guy's almost swinging his arms
- 9:34Speaker 1: off like at that point. It's kind of it reminds
- 9:37Speaker 1: me of like the Miguel Cabrera changes in his knee announcement.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We're like, what does that mean? Like, we don't, we
- 9:43Speaker 1: don't know. It just means his knee doesn't work for
- 9:44Speaker 1: as well. We're starting to get into that case, I
- 9:47Speaker 1: think with some of with some of the Stanton stuff
- 9:49Speaker 1: where it's just not going to go away. It's not
- 9:50Speaker 1: gonna heal. He's just got to deal with it.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah. But here's my next question.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I always ask people this, If he hits five hundred
- 9:57Speaker 3: home runs, is he a Hall of Famer? Is that
- 9:59Speaker 3: an auto Hall of Fame in today's game? Because he's
- 10:01Speaker 3: basically a one trick pony. I know he has the MVP,
- 10:04Speaker 3: but he's really been a one trick pony. It's been
- 10:06Speaker 3: he hits a lot of home runs when he's healthy.
- 10:08Speaker 3: So if he gets to five hundred home runs, is
- 10:10Speaker 3: John Carloston an auto first ballot Hall of Famer?
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think that. I think that it's pretty likely that
- 10:18Speaker 1: he is in. I don't know if it's a first ballot,
- 10:23Speaker 1: but he might have to wait. I think we're in
- 10:25Speaker 1: this weird transition period right now. We're gonna have like
- 10:28Speaker 1: five or ten years of voting. And I would love
- 10:30Speaker 1: your take on this as well, where voting where we're
- 10:34Speaker 1: kind of transitioning, like what our standards are for length
- 10:36Speaker 1: of career and like counting stats. Because the guys, the
- 10:40Speaker 1: early two thousands guys, they're gone. They're all either in
- 10:43Speaker 1: or lost. They're not in anymore. And so no one's
- 10:46Speaker 1: going to play for twenty years anymore, So five hundred
- 10:48Speaker 1: home runs is going to be I think as the
- 10:50Speaker 1: years go on and as we get closer to him
- 10:53Speaker 1: being eligible five hundred years ago, five hundred home runs
- 10:55Speaker 1: is going to look more and more and more attractive
- 10:57Speaker 1: for a Hall of Famer, and so that might be
- 10:59Speaker 1: what keeps him out. We had this conversation about Swarbur two.
- 11:02Speaker 1: If he hits the same amount he did last year
- 11:05Speaker 1: for the entire entirety of this contract, which he's on
- 11:08Speaker 1: pace to do, he's going to be tenth all time
- 11:10Speaker 1: and home runs. Does that put him in as a
- 11:12Speaker 1: Hall of Famer? Absolutely? But then you think about your
- 11:14Speaker 1: Kyles Swarber Homer Hall of Famer. That's These are the
- 11:17Speaker 1: standards we're talking about these days. But I think I
- 11:19Speaker 1: think five hundred is it's just a market that's just
- 11:22Speaker 1: not going to be less and less and less guys
- 11:24Speaker 1: are going to get there, And I think that he
- 11:25Speaker 1: might be in where that transition is as has moved
- 11:29Speaker 1: on a little bit to where I think we'd be
- 11:32Speaker 1: surprised on how easy it would be for people to
- 11:34Speaker 1: vote him in. So I would say, yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair I understand that. I mean, I go,
- 11:39Speaker 2: I want to get your opinion on this one.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Also the Jose Cabaerra whole thing with the umpires and
- 11:44Speaker 3: him looking up right at eight seconds, which is the
- 11:46Speaker 3: rule by the way, I mean, I don't understand why
- 11:48Speaker 3: people are getting so mad at him.
- 11:50Speaker 2: He can look down as long as he's he sees
- 11:51Speaker 2: that eight he can look up.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I don't understand why now umpire has he said dumpires
- 11:55Speaker 3: are picking on him right, and Aaron Boone got ejected
- 11:59Speaker 3: or I don't know if you adjective, but he got
- 12:00Speaker 3: in trouble yesterday for saying, you know, you're picking on
- 12:03Speaker 3: our guy as a picture. I know from a hitter standpoint,
- 12:07Speaker 3: like I'm going to try every rule I can to get.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Your momentum and your rhythm broken.
- 12:12Speaker 3: And if this is his routine and this is what
- 12:14Speaker 3: he does and it's in the rule book, I don't
- 12:17Speaker 3: understand what the big deal is. So I think it's
- 12:19Speaker 3: kind of funny that he now says he's being picked
- 12:21Speaker 3: on because I always felt like I was being picked
- 12:22Speaker 3: on by all these pictures throwing at me. It wasn't
- 12:24Speaker 3: my fault, it was their fault that they threw at me.
- 12:26Speaker 3: You know, I never did anything wrong, So what's your
- 12:29Speaker 3: what's your understanding or were feelings as a picture and
- 12:32Speaker 3: someone that would have to be standing out there and
- 12:34Speaker 3: waiting for the guy to I'm ready now.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I just think kaby Er since he was a
- 12:41Speaker 1: rookie man. You know, what's the common is the pot
- 12:44Speaker 1: stir He stirs the pot. It's like what he does.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You can imagine what he's like in a clubhouse sometimes too.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm sure he's just like how they're poking people Like
- 12:51Speaker 1: it's just there's guys are around and and he's like,
- 12:53Speaker 1: technically there's a lot like technically the rules eight and
- 12:57Speaker 1: there's nothing you can say at that point as a picture.
- 13:00Speaker 1: But I know Adrian Johnson was behind the plate, you
- 13:02Speaker 1: know these are this is like he's got a little
- 13:04Speaker 1: he's starting to get a reputation for for stirring the
- 13:06Speaker 1: pot a little bit out on the field, getting getting
- 13:08Speaker 1: his team fired up, but maybe getting in the other
- 13:11Speaker 1: getting annoyed, being annoying for the other team, and being
- 13:13Speaker 1: annoying to umpires at times as well, just trying to
- 13:16Speaker 1: like make their job a little harder to do. And
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think that's what we're looking at So was he
- 13:20Speaker 1: being picked on? Probably yeah, was he technically right within
- 13:24Speaker 1: the rules, yes, but also he shouldn't act like he's
- 13:28Speaker 1: surprised that that that pitchers get annoyed with him sometimes
- 13:33Speaker 1: and maybe Umpire's like, come on, man like. So it's
- 13:36Speaker 1: one of those things like don't stop doing it, keep
- 13:38Speaker 1: doing what you're doing. But also you also know what
- 13:41Speaker 1: you're doing. So uh, I think that how this is
- 13:44Speaker 1: being handled though everyone's handling exactly the way he should.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Aaron Boone should defend his guy. He is right, he
- 13:49Speaker 1: is picking on him. But Cabby or does put himself
- 13:53Speaker 1: in those positions quite often, and he's and he's done
- 13:55Speaker 1: it on every team he's been on, not just the Yankees.
- 13:58Speaker 1: But that's part of the way he plays game. It's
- 14:00Speaker 1: part of what makes him a good player, and it's
- 14:03Speaker 1: part of getting him getting advantages in certain situations, frustrating
- 14:06Speaker 1: pictures and and getting himself just a little bit of
- 14:08Speaker 1: an edge so that he can win in a battle.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Like that's the point of the game. You can we
- 14:13Speaker 1: can worry about like all this pots during whether or
- 14:17Speaker 1: not we like it off the field, but on the field,
- 14:18Speaker 1: if it's within the bounds of the of the rules
- 14:23Speaker 1: and nothing no advantage by the rules is happening. Then
- 14:27Speaker 1: it's just it's got to keep going. Like you just
- 14:28Speaker 1: got to keep doing what you got to do to
- 14:30Speaker 1: win the game.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I mean, the kids call it gas lighting, by the way, Trevor,
- 14:35Speaker 3: It's called me being a gas lighter. Yes, my kids
- 14:38Speaker 3: tell me that I was a great gas lighter, or
- 14:41Speaker 3: I still am sometimes.
- 14:42Speaker 2: But it's fun.
- 14:43Speaker 3: It's fun to gaslight the picture into getting angry at
- 14:45Speaker 3: you because you know what, then he might throw them
- 14:47Speaker 3: off a little bit. And like you said, cab iro
- 14:49Speaker 3: Is is really good at it. He's been really good
- 14:52Speaker 3: at He's got the two eyeblacks with the one. I mean,
- 14:54Speaker 3: he's he's been a pest. And you know what we
- 14:56Speaker 3: used to tell people, Paulkinerkle used to tell guys this
- 14:59Speaker 3: all the time.
- 15:00Speaker 2: If you're a fleet, be a flee.
- 15:01Speaker 3: It'd be really good at being a fleet, which means
- 15:03Speaker 3: you get on base, you annoy the heck out of
- 15:05Speaker 3: the other team, you steal bases, you do whatever you
- 15:08Speaker 3: have to do to annoy the other pitcher. And Cabrierra
- 15:10Speaker 3: right now is number one right now in baseball and
- 15:14Speaker 3: annoying the heck out of the pitchers and helping his
- 15:16Speaker 3: team try to win. So enough Yankees talk, though, I'm
- 15:18Speaker 3: sick of talking about the Yankees, aren't you all right?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Well?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Sad news if you're in Kansas City. Not like they
- 15:23Speaker 3: have any hope anyways. But Bobby Wood Junior is on
- 15:26Speaker 3: the IL for the first time in his career, placed
- 15:28Speaker 3: on the IL lower back tightness after being pulled from
- 15:32Speaker 3: games on back to back days. Kansas City called up
- 15:35Speaker 3: Andrew Vela Velasquez and it's turning shorts up into a
- 15:39Speaker 3: committee over the length of this ile stint. Sucks for
- 15:43Speaker 3: Bobby Wood Junior, sucks for Royals fans if you want
- 15:45Speaker 3: to go see one of the best players in the game.
- 15:47Speaker 3: But honestly, the Royal stint this year and they were
- 15:50Speaker 3: supposed to be in this race in the Al Central.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Is this a big blow? More a bigger blow for
- 15:55Speaker 3: baseball in general or for the Royals?
- 15:57Speaker 1: Trevor Yeah, I think I think the Royals are are
- 16:03Speaker 1: there under no illusions that this is going to be
- 16:05Speaker 1: a big comeback year. I think that they this is
- 16:08Speaker 1: more of a iph It's not one thing, it's the
- 16:10Speaker 1: other type situation. I think that for baseball. It's a
- 16:13Speaker 1: bigger blow just because Bobby Waitt was having another phenomenal year.
- 16:17Speaker 1: He's going to be in the conversation and at the
- 16:19Speaker 1: end of the year for you know, top five MVP
- 16:21Speaker 1: type votes, He's going to be there a lot. He's
- 16:23Speaker 1: one of the kind of turn a little bit into
- 16:26Speaker 1: the ozier mirrors of the of of the of the Royals.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So like he's he's an incredible player to watch and
- 16:33Speaker 1: there's not a ton to cheer for there, So having
- 16:35Speaker 1: the one guy you can see do amazing things and
- 16:37Speaker 1: the every single night was kind of the draw. And
- 16:41Speaker 1: now that draw is going to have to take some
- 16:44Speaker 1: time off. So yeah, I think that it's gonna be
- 16:48Speaker 1: hard to really keep up keep up on anything the
- 16:50Speaker 1: Royals are doing at this point.

- 17:55Speaker 2: All right, welcome back a little break time show.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Heyo, Tony just completed a thirty four pitch bullpen session
- 17:59Speaker 3: in five Philly. According to Javanese media members, or Tani
- 18:02Speaker 3: threw his full compliment of pitches.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 18:05Speaker 3: David Ves. I would never get I always get his
- 18:07Speaker 3: name wrong, David Vess. He actually interviewed, Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Uh cool, Like what do we I mean cool?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Like?
- 18:19Speaker 3: This is why I said you can never win a
- 18:21Speaker 3: cy young because he's always got something where the hitting
- 18:25Speaker 3: takes precedent over the pitching.
- 18:27Speaker 2: And to me, this is just another example.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I just we we sold you sold this a dream,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and this is the first year we've got to see
- 18:35Speaker 1: kind of see the dream. And then he's ass knee. Guys,
- 18:39Speaker 1: he's got a knee problem, his knee sore. Give him
- 18:42Speaker 1: six or eight months, you know, excuse me. And then
- 18:44Speaker 1: he's that he's throwing a throwing a bullpen like the
- 18:47Speaker 1: week later. So I'm like, what's the plan. Uh. Dave
- 18:51Speaker 1: Roberts coming out and said, it's you know, it's it's indefinite.
- 18:53Speaker 1: We don't know when when he's gonna come back. I
- 18:56Speaker 1: think this is a situation. It's like they're the most
- 18:58Speaker 1: careful organization in the league at this point. I think
- 19:02Speaker 1: they they're not shy about using the ale and getting
- 19:06Speaker 1: guys a lot of rest and then and a little
- 19:08Speaker 1: bit extra rest and then just ten percent more rest
- 19:09Speaker 1: on top of that to make sure they're good. And
- 19:12Speaker 1: at the end of the day, it's going to be
- 19:13Speaker 1: about winning in October for them. So if he can
- 19:16Speaker 1: hit and they're going to keep hitting, pitching's just pitching
- 19:19Speaker 1: is just the one pitch you know can put you
- 19:21Speaker 1: out for a year type of of of role, and
- 19:24Speaker 1: they're just like, that's just a chance you're not willing
- 19:26Speaker 1: to take with the guy who wins an MVP as
- 19:28Speaker 1: a DH every year.
- 19:30Speaker 2: All right, welcome back.
- 19:31Speaker 3: We're going to a little Blue Jay's a little more
- 19:33Speaker 3: Blue Jays talk, even though they just continue to suck Trevor.
- 19:36Speaker 3: They recalled David Schneider and Adam Maco, optioning Sean Keys
- 19:40Speaker 3: and placing Patrick Corban on the ale with a left
- 19:43Speaker 3: terrace major strain. That sounds like it's painful. David Schneider
- 19:48Speaker 3: popular player. They're very happy he's back, but just do
- 19:51Speaker 3: anything for the Blue Jays.
- 19:54Speaker 1: They just got to like score the morons into the
- 19:57Speaker 1: team at this point, I mean, Laddie Gladdy's been not
- 20:01Speaker 1: doing Gladdie things. They've just been super inconsistent and it's
- 20:04Speaker 1: a shame because there's been some really bright spots from
- 20:08Speaker 1: the back of the bullpen. LUs Orland's been incredible, Like
- 20:11Speaker 1: if if they were able to have more leads going
- 20:14Speaker 1: into the end of the game, they would be holding
- 20:16Speaker 1: those leads pretty well. I think that it feels like
- 20:20Speaker 1: missed opportunities. So, yeah, this this doesn't really move the needle.
- 20:24Speaker 1: It's just been kind of a blow after blow, especially
- 20:26Speaker 1: after how last year went. It was truly magical. They
- 20:30Speaker 1: want to get back. It's just been a lot of
- 20:33Speaker 1: bad luck and a lot of a lot of just
- 20:35Speaker 1: things not falling their way. It's it's hate to see it.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Is it that hard? Again? I never lost the World Series?
- 20:41Speaker 3: I don't know, but like every team that loses the
- 20:43Speaker 3: World Series, really I don't mean that that was a
- 20:46Speaker 3: humble brag or a game but I don't get into that.
- 20:48Speaker 3: But is it that hard when you lose the World
- 20:50Speaker 3: Series to get back and have a good year that
- 20:52Speaker 3: next year?
- 20:55Speaker 1: You would think the motivation would be there, it would
- 20:58Speaker 1: be more, Yeah, more you would You would think you
- 21:00Speaker 1: would have more. I honestly think because and you know,
- 21:03Speaker 1: you went through you said, you said you did like
- 21:06Speaker 1: having a month shorter offseason that could be a big,
- 21:10Speaker 1: big deal, and then not actually having the prize at
- 21:12Speaker 1: the end. Maybe you're just exhausted, still exhausted from that run.
- 21:24Speaker 3: All right, we're back spreading rumors. Man, I could go
- 21:25Speaker 3: for a PB peanut butter sandwich right now. I'm kind
- 21:29Speaker 3: of hungry. I don't know why I had a lunch,
- 21:30Speaker 3: A nice lunch too, But uh, we're gonna stick on
- 21:33Speaker 3: the Blue Jays thing. Kevin Gossman, Uh it came out.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I don't know how people find out these things. Who
- 21:38Speaker 3: leaks it to the press. But he has eight teams
- 21:40Speaker 3: he cannot be traded to, Reds, Brewers, Tigers, mets A's,
- 21:46Speaker 3: White Socks, Pirates, Mariners. Now there's a lot of playoff
- 21:50Speaker 3: teams in there. There's some teams that he wouldn't be
- 21:51Speaker 3: traded to anyways. But yesterday I think we had Jim
- 21:54Speaker 3: Boden on He said Kevin Goswa looked great as a
- 21:56Speaker 3: White Sox. He looked great as a Brewers too, a
- 22:00Speaker 3: Brewer too. So how do these First of all, how
- 22:02Speaker 3: do these lists get out unless he tells somebody or
- 22:05Speaker 3: his agent tells somebody. Then second of all, why did
- 22:07Speaker 3: he pick these teams? It seems like he picked again.
- 22:10Speaker 3: It seems like he picked teams that wouldn't be good.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And then he looks up and he's like, Oh, the
- 22:14Speaker 3: Brewers are pretty good, they'd be kind of fun to
- 22:15Speaker 3: play for. Oh, the White Socks aren't bad. The Mariners
- 22:18Speaker 3: they have been to the postseason. I don't know, it's
- 22:20Speaker 3: It's a very strange list to me.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm trying to remember when he signed his deal.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Uh at what was happening at that point, because I mean,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I come on, man like that, you know, I know,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I know the you love we love the White Sox,
- 22:34Speaker 1: but like, yeah, they just weren't doing much for a
- 22:37Speaker 1: few years there, and it was kind of a kind
- 22:38Speaker 1: of a sad situation. And I understand that. But like
- 22:41Speaker 1: there's a couple of teams here. You're like, what do
- 22:43Speaker 1: the Brewers ever do the Brewers have been in the
- 22:45Speaker 1: in it every year, year after year all the time.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You just not like the Field and Milwaukee it was
- 22:50Speaker 1: you just don't want to have to stay in the
- 22:51Speaker 1: haunted hotel for more than three three days? Like, what
- 22:53Speaker 1: is what's going on there? It seems it seems odd.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I think the other a lot of these these other
- 23:00Speaker 1: you know names are yeah, like I don't want to
- 23:02Speaker 1: go to Sacramento. I understand that. I totally get that. Yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 1: it seems like an odd on odd list, But I
- 23:08Speaker 1: think that he's probably he would probably loosen it up
- 23:10Speaker 1: for a couple of those, Namely, I think the Mariners
- 23:12Speaker 1: and Brewers, especially with you got you can go and
- 23:15Speaker 1: you can throw at your opposite hand in the Mariners
- 23:17Speaker 1: probably throw just as well as you throw it anywhere else.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It seems like, so it's a great place to pitch.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Why would you want to go there? I don't know.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I mean, now, this was five years ago when he
- 23:26Speaker 3: did this list, because he signed in twenty one, so maybe.
- 23:30Speaker 1: The Brewers are the weird one there then in that
- 23:32Speaker 1: point in that case.
- 23:33Speaker 2: But I thought I thought he was ten to five.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I had to look it up.
- 23:36Speaker 3: This is his fifth year with the Blue Jays, so
- 23:37Speaker 3: he's he's not gonna get to the ten five where
- 23:40Speaker 3: he would have total power, because he's already got the
- 23:42Speaker 3: ten years.
- 23:42Speaker 2: He just doesn't have the five with the Blue Jays.
- 23:45Speaker 3: So they're gonna trade him and then he's gonna have
- 23:46Speaker 3: to start over, which is really really gonna suck for
- 23:50Speaker 3: him if.
- 23:50Speaker 2: He does get moved.
- 23:51Speaker 3: But I mean normally to normally, players go like they
- 23:53Speaker 3: don't want to go to a big market, right so
- 23:55Speaker 3: they say no Boston, no New York, no Chicago, no
- 23:58Speaker 3: those bits int La or they say I don't want
- 24:01Speaker 3: to go to the sucky team. So maybe five years
- 24:02Speaker 3: ago these are the teams he thought were gonna suck,
- 24:04Speaker 3: and he picked these eight and he stuck with it.
- 24:06Speaker 3: And I don't know, he could always wave it, but
- 24:09Speaker 3: they could always pay him a couple hundred grand or
- 24:10Speaker 3: something whatever to wave it. But we'll see what happens
- 24:12Speaker 3: with Kevin Gosman. He did walk off the field trivor
- 24:15Speaker 3: I don't know if he saw it and took his
- 24:16Speaker 3: time getting off the field in Toronto after his last start.
- 24:21Speaker 1: That's usually well, it's it's ay indicator that he's thinking
- 24:24Speaker 1: about it, and that's always a I always tip a
- 24:27Speaker 1: cap to a guy who like it, has the wherewithal
- 24:29Speaker 1: to actually do that. I think that's something that every
- 24:33Speaker 1: every player needs to do from time to time. Just
- 24:34Speaker 1: be where am I? What am I doing? This is
- 24:37Speaker 1: pretty cool? Wow? Even if he end up staying so,
- 24:41Speaker 1: but yeah, that's what fancy is they see, Oh no, Kevin,
- 24:45Speaker 1: please don't go so, but he'd be he'd be a
- 24:48Speaker 1: prized He would be a prize for any team that
- 24:49Speaker 1: can go get him a lot of starting pitching. A
- 24:51Speaker 1: lot of a lot of teams on the CUSP right now,
- 24:53Speaker 1: a lot of teams need to started pitching.
- 25:00Speaker 5: If you're watching us, you already know we're wearing mack
- 25:02Speaker 5: Weldon right now as we talk about a great brand
- 25:05Speaker 5: that makes things so comfortable and easy to wear. But
- 25:07Speaker 5: if you're listening to the show, let me tell you
- 25:09Speaker 5: a little bit more about mac Weldon with my friend
- 25:12Speaker 5: Aer Kratz.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Yeah, it's comfortable, it's light. It's summertime right now. For me, though,
- 25:19Speaker 6: they cater to what I need tall clothes. Normally, when
- 25:23Speaker 6: I buy tall clothes it's like something that's cumbersome and boxy.
- 25:27Speaker 6: It still fits incredibly well, super light, perfect for the summertime.
- 25:33Speaker 6: They got me all covered.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Comfortable performance material can be yours. Mac Weldon is the spot.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Don't sweat the heat this summer. Feel as effortlessly cool
- 25:45Speaker 5: as you look. With mack Weldon. Go to Mackweldon dot
- 25:47Speaker 5: com and get twenty percent off your first order of
- 25:49Speaker 5: one hundred and twenty five bucks or more with promo
- 25:51Speaker 5: code foul. That's m ackw eld o n dot com
- 25:54Speaker 5: code fou l.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 2: True. By the way, apparently Ken Rosenthal put that out
- 25:59Speaker 2: our senior.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to ask him next time I see
- 26:01Speaker 3: it how he gets all this into that information. He'll
- 26:03Speaker 3: never reveal sources, though. Trevor which annoys the heck out
- 26:06Speaker 3: of me. But we'll have to find out.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna have to hold him down and
- 26:09Speaker 2: make him meat a salad in order.
- 26:11Speaker 1: To get me get to where he is by telling
- 26:13Speaker 1: people the sauce man that the recipee of the sauce anyway,
- 26:16Speaker 1: not the sauce.
- 26:17Speaker 2: True, true. All right, let's go to Zach Wheeler.
- 26:19Speaker 3: If you remember, a couple of years ago, Zach Wheeler
- 26:21Speaker 3: said he will not pitch after his contract was over.
- 26:23Speaker 2: In twenty twenty seven, he said it again, but he
- 26:26Speaker 2: also said he might he might change it, but I
- 26:31Speaker 2: don't know.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Here's the thing I knew when my career was over,
- 26:35Speaker 3: my contract was up with the Braves.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I was almost I was thirty nine.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I was gonna turn forty that offseason, and it just
- 26:42Speaker 3: wasn't the same going to the park every day. Now,
- 26:43Speaker 3: I wasn't having a great year whatever, But even when
- 26:46Speaker 3: I've had good years, I had bad years, but it
- 26:47Speaker 3: was always fun to go to the park. It just
- 26:49Speaker 3: got to a point where I couldn't get ready for it.
- 26:51Speaker 3: So Trevor has a pitcher. How do you know when
- 26:54Speaker 3: it's time? Do you know when it's time does your
- 26:56Speaker 3: body tell you it's time to the team's not signing,
- 26:59Speaker 3: you tell you, sim how do you know when it's
- 27:01Speaker 3: time to hang it up?
- 27:02Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's different for everybody, right you could
- 27:05Speaker 1: do the the Joeyvada route or you can do the
- 27:09Speaker 1: me route. And I knew going into my final year
- 27:11Speaker 1: that that was it. But this is a family thing too,
- 27:14Speaker 1: and just kind of what I wanted out of, where
- 27:16Speaker 1: I wanted to live, what I wanted to be doing
- 27:18Speaker 1: every day. But that's not the case for everybody. I
- 27:21Speaker 1: think that in this day and age now, you can
- 27:23Speaker 1: see the writing on the wall pretty well with your
- 27:25Speaker 1: stuff because it's pretty clear on how situations are, how
- 27:29Speaker 1: you're being evaluated and can be given another contract. I
- 27:32Speaker 1: had a really good year my last year, but my
- 27:34Speaker 1: peripheral stats were the worst they'd ever been, and I
- 27:36Speaker 1: was like, it's funny that I probably had on paper
- 27:39Speaker 1: some of the best consistency I've ever had as a pitcher,
- 27:41Speaker 1: being more of a veteran now, but I'm going to
- 27:44Speaker 1: get off for less money next year, and uh, I
- 27:47Speaker 1: don't want to deal with that. And I was already
- 27:49Speaker 1: kind of like like if things were going really poorly.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I don't know how much I would have behind getting going.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So I think that a lot of it has to
- 27:57Speaker 1: do with you feel it coming. But when it comes
- 27:59Speaker 1: to pitching, like you have to go with how guys
- 28:01Speaker 1: reacting to your stuff. Guys can feel terrible. Guys will
- 28:03Speaker 1: pitch till their arm falls off. I mean Rich Hill, Yeah,
- 28:08Speaker 1: Rich would tell me like, yeah, I feel horrendous, like
- 28:11Speaker 1: I've been't felt good in ten years. But he just
- 28:15Speaker 1: he's like, but they but the hitters are just telling
- 28:16Speaker 1: me I can still get him out. And that's what
- 28:18Speaker 1: I that's the part I like, I don't care how
- 28:20Speaker 1: my body feels. I'm like, that's crazy, But hey man,
- 28:22Speaker 1: that's what you want to do, so or you can
- 28:25Speaker 1: do the Eddie Gerdado. He just went to spring training
- 28:27Speaker 1: once row up the third day was like, eh, I
- 28:29Speaker 1: don't like this anymore. I think I want to go home,
- 28:31Speaker 1: and then just left. And that's how his career did.
- 28:33Speaker 1: So it's just it's it's different for everybody that some
- 28:36Speaker 1: one day you look up and and you're done. Or
- 28:39Speaker 1: and when some guys just plant it and they get
- 28:41Speaker 1: to go and get get rocking chairs made out of
- 28:44Speaker 1: broken bats, like maroon RIVERA. Some guys get that, but
- 28:46Speaker 1: those are rare. Most guys just kind of fade into
- 28:49Speaker 1: the to the shrubs, like like Homer.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Since agree agreed, so I don't know. We'll see. We'll
- 28:54Speaker 2: see what happens with Zach Wheeler. It's funny. He said
- 28:57Speaker 2: he absolutely would not pitch, but he's like, man.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I'll tendant too with a two era and have a
- 29:03Speaker 3: five war and uh.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, uh yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 3: I think I might keep pitching now because if a
- 29:09Speaker 3: team wants to pay me thirty or forty million.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Why would I not take that money and run. So
- 29:14Speaker 2: we'll see what happens with Zach Wheeler.
- 29:15Speaker 3: It's gonna be interesting, especially since his I believe his
- 29:18Speaker 3: last year is next year with the CBA and all that.
- 29:20Speaker 3: But we kind of hit it with pap uh e World.
- 29:24Speaker 3: As Chapman was rumored to be traded to the White
- 29:26Speaker 3: Sox at has been shot down. Of course, teams are
- 29:29Speaker 3: gonna shoot it down because they don't want to roll
- 29:30Speaker 3: as Chapman thinking they don't want him and the White Sox,
- 29:33Speaker 3: whoever there prospects were allegedly going to be traded, they
- 29:35Speaker 3: don't want them to think that they were going to
- 29:37Speaker 3: be traded. Uh, yeah, see someone Chris Catillo had someone
- 29:41Speaker 3: shoot down there. Rold As Chaman and White Sox think
- 29:43Speaker 3: at warp speed of carry on, of course, because they
- 29:45Speaker 3: were winning fifteen games in a row. If they had
- 29:47Speaker 3: lost fifteen games in a row, rold As Chapman would
- 29:49Speaker 3: be a White Sox already. Sonny Gray is no longer
- 29:51Speaker 3: probably on the list. As Pap said, how quickly have
- 29:54Speaker 3: you ever been on a team, Trevor where this has.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Changed that quickly?
- 29:57Speaker 3: Where you're one day you're completely out of it, and
- 30:00Speaker 3: you wake up two weeks later and you are, Wow, guys,
- 30:02Speaker 3: we're in a position here to make the playoffs and
- 30:04Speaker 3: possibly the World Series a little bit.
- 30:08Speaker 1: In twenty fifteen with Tory Hunters. Last year with the Twins,
- 30:11Speaker 1: we were not so we were supposed to win like sixty games,
- 30:13Speaker 1: and then we were like, oh we have you know,
- 30:14Speaker 1: we're on pace to win eighty eight, eighty nine games
- 30:17Speaker 1: here we can make playoffs. And it just kind of
- 30:18Speaker 1: like kept going and we were like, we're gonna be sellers,
- 30:21Speaker 1: are gonna be sellers, were gonna sellers, And suddenly we
- 30:22Speaker 1: rattled like I think seven straight off or something going
- 30:25Speaker 1: last two weeks and we're like, we could, we could
- 30:27Speaker 1: buy and then we ended up missing by game. Anyways,
- 30:30Speaker 1: but that was probably the closest I've ever gotten. But
- 30:33Speaker 1: I just think that there's twelve playoff teams, like five hundred,
- 30:38Speaker 1: Like last we have Mets Reds. They're like, who's gonna
- 30:41Speaker 1: make it? And they're both like two games over like
- 30:43Speaker 1: the whole time, and it's ten years ago. They would
- 30:47Speaker 1: just be out of it. Both these teams would be selling.
- 30:48Speaker 1: It wouldn't be close, Like you can't get in the
- 30:50Speaker 1: playoffs with eighty three wins and then you can do that.
- 30:52Speaker 1: So it's really hard. I don't envy the decisions having
- 30:56Speaker 1: to be made for an offices for teams that are
- 30:58Speaker 1: fifty and fifty and be like, I mean, conceivably we're
- 31:02Speaker 1: a five game win streak away from being, you know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: the second wild card, or we lose five and then
- 31:06Speaker 1: we're out way at we feel like we're way out
- 31:08Speaker 1: of it. It's kind of some big decisions to make
- 31:11Speaker 1: for some things that just might not work out because
- 31:13Speaker 1: there's so many other teams in the in the mix.
- 31:16Speaker 1: But for the Red Sox, it's a no brainer for me,
- 31:18Speaker 1: like you should just throw all that stuff out. You
- 31:20Speaker 1: should go for it, no matter how the next couple
- 31:22Speaker 1: of weeks ago. You should be going for it because
- 31:24Speaker 1: you're not going to be able to get far enough
- 31:26Speaker 1: out of it to where you won't be in it
- 31:28Speaker 1: coming the end of the year anyway. So you keep
- 31:30Speaker 1: the guys you are throwing the best. You have, one
- 31:31Speaker 1: of the better closers, one of the most consistent closers
- 31:33Speaker 1: out there. Keep them, and one of the best starting pitchers.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Keep them.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Agree But by the way, it's all about what the
- 31:39Speaker 3: analytics says, Trevor. So if the analytics says we go
- 31:41Speaker 3: for it, then we go for it. There's no gut
- 31:43Speaker 3: feelings anymore. It's whatever the little computer. When they're sitting
- 31:46Speaker 3: there and Craig Brozlow sits there and goes put types
- 31:49Speaker 3: in his algorithm in his little formula, and if it
- 31:51Speaker 3: pops out, trade.
- 31:52Speaker 2: For this guy. They do it.
- 31:53Speaker 3: And if it doesn't, then he says, you know what,
- 31:54Speaker 3: John Henry, I saved you two million dollars, so give
- 31:57Speaker 3: me a raise.
- 31:57Speaker 2: That's how works up, Dave Boston.
- 32:00Speaker 1: We fixed it. There's no more AI on the iPads.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Everything's fine. Okay, what are you talking about anymore. We're fine.
- 32:06Speaker 2: There's no more.
- 32:07Speaker 3: There's no more AI. I don't know. I didn't even
- 32:09Speaker 3: know there was AI. But now AI, there's we can
- 32:11Speaker 3: get into AI. There's a whole AI thing where AI
- 32:14Speaker 3: figured out a way to like break into other teams,
- 32:18Speaker 3: the companies.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Oh for whatever, we don't have enough time.
- 32:21Speaker 1: But I mean, this is all I read about. Man,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you would you would be, It would spin your head.
- 32:26Speaker 1: That's why I don't.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Want to know. I don't want to know. I don't
- 32:29Speaker 2: want to know. I'm excited for this.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I am excited at Trevor for this because I cannot
- 32:34Speaker 3: wait to see your trade predictions. And I am also
- 32:37Speaker 3: I can't wait to just say yes or no whether
- 32:39Speaker 3: I think these are realistic or not. So let's jump
- 32:42Speaker 3: right into it.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Trevor.
- 32:43Speaker 3: May you have your board, you have your predictions. Let's
- 32:45Speaker 3: hear what you're right or wrong about.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Well, you know how predictions go. They're always really great
- 32:51Speaker 1: to make, and it feels so good when you're completely wrong.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I will, I will, be honest. There's some vibes in here,
- 32:57Speaker 1: There's some there's some This just makes sense to me
- 33:00Speaker 1: because that's the type of player that goes to that team.
- 33:02Speaker 2: But those are the ones that never happened.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Those are the ones that or they are the one.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Sometimes a guy like a like an obscure reliever goes right,
- 33:10Speaker 1: oh no, that that tracks. I just didn't think of
- 33:13Speaker 1: that guy. So I tried to add some deep cuts
- 33:14Speaker 1: in here. There's there's three deep cuts and people like okay,
- 33:18Speaker 1: So I wanted to bring to bring that spice to
- 33:21Speaker 1: foul territory number one. Uh, we're just talking about whether
- 33:25Speaker 1: or not we think the Twins are going to trade.
- 33:27Speaker 1: They traded eleven guys last year, and they're very data
- 33:30Speaker 1: driven as well. They're probably not a playoff team this year.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I know they're only three games out, but they're just
- 33:35Speaker 1: good offense. The pitching hasn't been as good as they've
- 33:38Speaker 1: wanted to, especially the bullpen. Joe Ryan back to the Rays,
- 33:41Speaker 1: as you know, he was in the minors with them,
- 33:44Speaker 1: and uh, this is coming from mostly he added him
- 33:48Speaker 1: to uh Rastusen and and uh McLanahan. I think he
- 33:53Speaker 1: fits right into there. I think that he is the
- 33:55Speaker 1: type of pitch mix that team likes. He's got a
- 33:57Speaker 1: little bit of controllability still on him, and they are
- 34:00Speaker 1: familiar and the Twins love trading with the Rays. That's
- 34:04Speaker 1: that's a big, a big indicator for me. It's almost
- 34:07Speaker 1: inevitable that the Rays get someone or make some move
- 34:10Speaker 1: with either the Mariners the Twins in It's every single year,
- 34:12Speaker 1: and I think this is going to be that one.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So what do you got on number one? From me?
- 34:17Speaker 2: I like it. I just I actually like this one
- 34:21Speaker 2: a lot.
- 34:21Speaker 3: I'm not I can't really get on you about this
- 34:23Speaker 3: one because it doesn't make too much sense.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I would listen, there's nothing wrong with Joe Ryan.
- 34:28Speaker 3: He's really good, but I just wish the Rays would
- 34:30Speaker 3: shoot a little bit higher for a school bol right.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Are Joe Ryan's really good? Listen, Joe Ryan's really good.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yes, you throw McClanahan, Rasmussen, Nick Martinez, Joe Ryan and
- 34:42Speaker 3: the back end of their bullpen with Baker the way
- 34:44Speaker 3: he's thrown, and Junior Cam and Arrow, with the year
- 34:46Speaker 3: he's had in Ronda and uh Yondi Diaz. I can't
- 34:52Speaker 3: argue with it. Now they got to get a catcher too,
- 34:54Speaker 3: but I think I think Joe Ryan would be the
- 34:57Speaker 3: Joe Ryan is more of the Rays move than the
- 34:59Speaker 3: Turks Google move, which.
- 35:00Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, yeah, so this is probably more
- 35:04Speaker 1: the more likely or more maybe realistic side of things.
- 35:08Speaker 1: There's some non realistic ones here that are that are exciting.
- 35:11Speaker 1: We can move on to number two. This one's a
- 35:13Speaker 1: no brainer to me. First of all. For some reason
- 35:16Speaker 1: in my in my brain, I have this feeling like
- 35:18Speaker 1: I feel like Taylor Ward has already played for the Phillies,
- 35:21Speaker 1: but they need an outfielder. They got to play the
- 35:24Speaker 1: league average a defense. What he does is he got
- 35:27Speaker 1: the pop that he had a couple of years ago
- 35:28Speaker 1: when he have thirty one home runs. No, does he
- 35:30Speaker 1: have the potential to lead the park? Yes? Is it
- 35:32Speaker 1: a small park? Yes? Has he walked eighty times? Is
- 35:35Speaker 1: leading this team by thirty walks? Yes? They need a
- 35:38Speaker 1: guy to get on base and let Schwarber hit a
- 35:41Speaker 1: two run home run. That's what they need, and I
- 35:44Speaker 1: think that this is the guy to do it. You know,
- 35:47Speaker 1: not not a ton of pop, he's not producing a lot,
- 35:50Speaker 1: but he's on base at a thirty three eighty seven
- 35:53Speaker 1: on base percentage. That's the type of guy they need.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And he plays adequate defense. I think he is exactly
- 35:57Speaker 1: and then and he's a right handed stick in a
- 35:59Speaker 1: left handed, heavy lineup like it just kind of makes
- 36:02Speaker 1: all the sense in the world. And I think they'd
- 36:04Speaker 1: be willing to part with him be it wouldn't be
- 36:06Speaker 1: super expensive. So I think he's a good fit. I
- 36:08Speaker 1: think he's a good depth pick for the Phillies. How
- 36:11Speaker 1: do you feel about I.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Don't mind this.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I just don't know that the Orioles are going to
- 36:15Speaker 3: do this because I think that they believe they're still
- 36:18Speaker 3: in it even though they probably aren't.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Right. And the thing that.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Worries about me about Taylor Ward is he's in Baltimore,
- 36:25Speaker 3: which is also a really good part to hit in,
- 36:28Speaker 3: and he has seven homers and twenty seven arbiys that
- 36:31Speaker 3: I mean, he's goenning. He's walking more, but the production
- 36:34Speaker 3: because he's walking more has gone way down.
- 36:36Speaker 2: But I love listen.
- 36:37Speaker 3: The Phillies need a right handed bat, a right handed
- 36:39Speaker 3: hitting outfield bat especially.
- 36:41Speaker 2: It makes it makes a lot of sense.
- 36:43Speaker 3: It's just a little bit of worry because his production
- 36:45Speaker 3: has fallen off so much.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Todd Father, are you hitting some games this summer?
- 36:51Speaker 1: What's the deal? Of course?
- 36:53Speaker 4: And it's real simple, Scottie Braun, You know how it is.

- 37:50Speaker 1: I just think they can put that right now. What
- 37:53Speaker 1: about the Oorls. Oorls have Pelonzo. P Alonzo is their production.
- 37:56Speaker 1: He's got twenty more iized anybody in the team. Put
- 37:59Speaker 1: him on a team with Wish, Warbur and Harper and
- 38:01Speaker 1: a little bit more production. Maybe maybe those those walks
- 38:05Speaker 1: translateing more runs, which is what they need and they
- 38:07Speaker 1: want to They just don't want to spend a bunch
- 38:08Speaker 1: of money on it. Which it's a very specific it's
- 38:11Speaker 1: a very specific position. You need that everyone knows you need.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Maybe you can get someone who cheaper. He's probably cheaps
- 38:15Speaker 1: onot number three on this. This is maybe my big
- 38:18Speaker 1: swing that I just he's got. He's got Yankees written
- 38:21Speaker 1: all over him. They need they have a catcher problem.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Hunter Goodman, Rockies. They did it with McMahon, they're gonna go.
- 38:27Speaker 1: They might do it with Hunter Goodman. Give us someone
- 38:30Speaker 1: who hits homers and swings and misses all a lot
- 38:33Speaker 1: and uh that is that is Hunter Goodman. And he's
- 38:35Speaker 1: a right handed that they're they're missing some pop without
- 38:38Speaker 1: judge he could add that, but he does. He does
- 38:40Speaker 1: with quite a bit. He's in the bottom five percent
- 38:42Speaker 1: pretty much everything except for hitting ball real hard. But
- 38:45Speaker 1: he's got thirty one home runs over there in Colorado.
- 38:48Speaker 1: How much that's Colorado aided, Actually not as much. He's
- 38:50Speaker 1: got eighteen on the road, so Hunter Goodman Yankees. But
- 38:53Speaker 1: that might take cat quite a hall and that would
- 38:55Speaker 1: probably close the door on Mason Miller. That's probably the
- 38:58Speaker 1: bigger prize if they would want.
- 39:00Speaker 3: So, I think this one makes total sense. He fits
- 39:02Speaker 3: in perfectly with the Yankees. He strikes out a ton,
- 39:04Speaker 3: he hits a ton of homers. Yanke's not he's not
- 39:06Speaker 3: great defensively, but he's not awful defensively. They love Austin
- 39:09Speaker 3: Wells because of his defense. He's having an awful year, right.
- 39:13Speaker 3: The Yankees just don't do these trades in the middle
- 39:15Speaker 3: of the season. They don't make these moves like this,
- 39:17Speaker 3: and that's the one draw. Other than that, I think
- 39:18Speaker 3: it would be great. I mean, you could add another
- 39:20Speaker 3: right handed bat, you could add a lot of slug
- 39:23Speaker 3: especially in Yankee Stadium. But you see the hundred and
- 39:26Speaker 3: twenty nine strikeouts, that's a lot of strikeouts, a lot.
- 39:29Speaker 3: That's it's almost thirty. It's one every three times he
- 39:31Speaker 3: walks up there. But again, that fits in line with
- 39:33Speaker 3: what the Yankees do. They hit homers, they strike out,
- 39:36Speaker 3: that's their thing, right, and they pitt really well. So
- 39:39Speaker 3: I just I don't I just I actually think this
- 39:41Speaker 3: would be a great move for the Yankees. I just
- 39:43Speaker 3: don't think that they'll do it in the middle of
- 39:44Speaker 3: the season.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yeah, probably not, but it'd be cool. It'd be great.
- 39:48Speaker 1: All right, let's let's let's go to the pictures. Freddy
- 39:53Speaker 1: Prowl is going back. Sure, let's do it.
- 39:57Speaker 2: They do.
- 39:58Speaker 3: They just trade the guys back right back, great, come
- 40:01Speaker 3: on back.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Come on back.
- 40:02Speaker 1: You figure out your cutter and in Flushing, we're gonna
- 40:05Speaker 1: just run it back. And then Stern's gonna be like, hey,
- 40:08Speaker 1: my bad, like that's and Freddie's back, Oh my god.
- 40:10Speaker 1: And then he's gonna go and he's gonna be old Freddy.
- 40:12Speaker 1: And so how it's gonna work. That's such a Brewers move.
- 40:15Speaker 1: And also Freddy just flipping back into into ace Freddy
- 40:19Speaker 1: immediately because he's comfortable because there's really nothing and what's
- 40:22Speaker 1: what he's been throwing or where he's been throwing it,
- 40:24Speaker 1: that's changed a lot. It just seems like he's uncomfortable.
- 40:27Speaker 1: And so maybe that's what I think is gonna happen.
- 40:30Speaker 1: It wouldn't surprise you one bit because it's but it
- 40:32Speaker 1: would just be it would be a bigg on the
- 40:34Speaker 1: face and Sterns. That's the big thing. That's why I
- 40:35Speaker 1: think you'd be hesitant to do it because it would
- 40:37Speaker 1: look really bad. It's like you brought him in he
- 40:39Speaker 1: pitt really poorly sent him back. He pitches good. You're like, oh,
- 40:41Speaker 1: well it was me, So I I think that that's
- 40:45Speaker 1: a good one. But uh, and then for the sake
- 40:48Speaker 1: of brevity, let's just I'll let you go through them
- 40:50Speaker 1: all after it hit him. All the last three all relievers,
- 40:53Speaker 1: all deep cuts. None of them are are starters. These
- 40:56Speaker 1: are the guys that go a week until the deadline.
- 40:58Speaker 1: We got Jojo Romero because I think the Cardinals, though
- 41:00Speaker 1: they have played really well in they're three games over
- 41:02Speaker 1: five hundred, it's just so congested right there, and there's they're,
- 41:07Speaker 1: you know, Kim Bloom's first year. They're probably just gonna
- 41:10Speaker 1: either hold pat and then maybe get rid of some
- 41:12Speaker 1: of the some of the reliever of reliever or two.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Like if they I don't I don't think they're gonna
- 41:15Speaker 1: do a ton. And Jojo Romero has been a guy
- 41:18Speaker 1: who's been really solid for them. He's a lefty. He
- 41:20Speaker 1: gets left, he's out, he can he can get right.
- 41:22Speaker 1: He's out to fireman type does a really good job.
- 41:26Speaker 1: That's the type of guy that the Mariners want. And
- 41:29Speaker 1: the same The next two guys also have done this
- 41:31Speaker 1: role for the Reds because the bullpen has been solid,
- 41:33Speaker 1: they've had some good good good guy Sam Mule gets
- 41:35Speaker 1: left hes out. He's very hard to hit for the Reds.
- 41:37Speaker 1: So anyone who needs a lefty, which the Rangers do
- 41:40Speaker 1: need one. And then t j Antone with the Dodgers,
- 41:43Speaker 1: ripping sweepers, ripping breaking balls. Really he's breaking balls are
- 41:47Speaker 1: his thing and that's what the Dodgers like. I think
- 41:49Speaker 1: that uh and Anton's had an incredible year and I
- 41:52Speaker 1: don't think anyone's really noticed he's got two three, So
- 41:54Speaker 1: I think those would be good low level. No one's
- 41:56Speaker 1: really seeing it coming. The Reds have a blood of
- 41:58Speaker 1: those guys, and the Reds are out of it, so
- 42:00Speaker 1: I think that I think that those have got what
- 42:02Speaker 1: you got on what you got on my pitching.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I actually like all those Ferry going back would be amazing,
- 42:07Speaker 3: just for for vibes, right for vibes, happy Freddy, Uh
- 42:11Speaker 3: the relievers is I think Jojo Romero didn't he just
- 42:13Speaker 3: have an appendice.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Easy for me, I might have dis missed that.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he did.
- 42:20Speaker 3: I'm not exactly sure, but I think he just had
- 42:21Speaker 3: an appendectomy, which, hey, whatever is fine. I mean, but
- 42:24Speaker 3: Adam Dunn came back in like a week, so I
- 42:26Speaker 3: don't know they can be out that long with that.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Uh, what's now, it's mikeil Brian's going to the Mariner
- 42:34Speaker 1: fix it.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine either one.
- 42:37Speaker 3: But yeah, I like these movies because these are the
- 42:39Speaker 3: moves that actually win for you, these little moves in
- 42:42Speaker 3: the margins that people don't talk about. They're like, oh,
- 42:45Speaker 3: everyone wants the big name, right, and the big name
- 42:47Speaker 3: can do some things, but it's these little bullpen moves
- 42:49Speaker 3: or little tweaks. A utility guy here, a guy that
- 42:51Speaker 3: can play a specific role on a team, that actually
- 42:54Speaker 3: win you these these divisions. So listen, I gave my opinion.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I think this is great. I think all these moves
- 43:00Speaker 3: to make a ton of sense. That's the problem. They
- 43:02Speaker 3: make too much sense, and then we'll look back and say, oh,
- 43:05Speaker 3: none of these guys got moved because it made too
- 43:07Speaker 3: much sense for them.
- 43:07Speaker 2: To go to the right team. So Trevor, I appreciate it.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I love you putting your I love that you put
- 43:12Speaker 3: yourself out there because these took some time and you
- 43:14Speaker 3: dug in deep, so we really do appreciate.
- 43:16Speaker 2: It, all right.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Congrats to the Captain Aaron Judge. Ten years of service time.
- 43:33Speaker 3: It seems like I remember he came up in twenty
- 43:35Speaker 3: sixteen at the end, and I know his big debut
- 43:37Speaker 3: was in twenty seventeen, so I know it doesn't take
- 43:40Speaker 3: a full year to get a full year of service time.
- 43:42Speaker 3: So congrats to the Captain Aaron Judge. Trevor, it's a
- 43:45Speaker 3: cool accomplishment if you get did you get to ten years?
- 43:48Speaker 1: Help? That's cool. Pulled the shoot man a little bit
- 43:51Speaker 1: before we hit the mark, but hey, you know, congratulations,
- 43:55Speaker 1: you did you did it, Aaron. Now we're playing with
- 43:59Speaker 1: house money.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Now we have a good time exactly, and we'll see
- 44:02Speaker 3: you in Cooperstown one day, Aaron, hurry back this year tomorrow.
- 44:06Speaker 3: It's me Eric and Todd another final day of the
- 44:09Speaker 3: Player Show. Scott, you might be fired forever. Enjoy your
- 44:12Speaker 3: permanent vacation and Ken will be here. And also maybe
- 44:15Speaker 3: a manager, does your home run bet come up short?
