- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the three O take
- 0:16presented by see kick this episode 435.
- 0:19I'll be your host, Kyle Cord, and I'm here with my Co host
- 0:21Nate Reyes and Nate. Hi everybody, go ahead and start
- 0:27your apology now, because if you're watching on YouTube and
- 0:30or catching us live on social, I, I need you to just to go out
- 0:35and publicly say what you're wearing and what you should be
- 0:39wearing. You want.
- 0:41You want this. You want me.
- 0:43You want me to show you this since somebody doesn't believe
- 0:47me? Just blaming our our.
- 0:52Are wholesome government? No, no, no, no, no.
- 0:55There's nothing wholesome about the USPS.
- 0:57It's well documented that the USPS needs to get their crap
- 1:01together. All right, it said it was
- 1:03supposed to show up Wednesday. What is that?
- 1:05Well, it's hard to really say that.
- 1:07You can kind of see it right there.
- 1:08Wednesday the 22nd by 9:00 PM. Unfortunately, we're recording
- 1:12at 7:00 PM, so there's still a chance that it shows up later
- 1:16tonight. But as you and I both know, and
- 1:19I texted this to you, the USPS doesn't make multiple, at least
- 1:22that I know, if they don't make multiple runs in an afternoon.
- 1:26So they came, they dropped off our mail.
- 1:28I went to look the visor's in, the visor's in, but the polo's
- 1:33not so. I just feel like.
- 1:36That's not on me. I feel like now that we're we're
- 1:40starting to lose episodes. We're not OK, so I meant to
- 1:45bring that up so I don't. Know where you need to wear it
- 1:47for the All Star game. No specific, no, absolutely not.
- 1:53I, I don't know where I got 12 from.
- 1:55I think I think 12 episodes for having to wear this polo and
- 1:59visor combo. I think that when I did the math
- 2:02on that, it was if we went the full 14 game stretch, like if
- 2:06they went, if it was decided by the 14th game, if they were
- 2:10going to be 500 or better. But as we very well know, they
- 2:13went to and whatever. So the the bet was decided much
- 2:18earlier. So I got a little bit of a
- 2:20little bit of breathing room there.
- 2:22So I think if I would have started wearing it tonight, it
- 2:26would have been 15 episodes. So you would have gotten a few
- 2:29bonus episodes in there. So assuming we're good to go by
- 2:33next Sunday, that'll be 14 episodes, which ironically
- 2:39enough is the amount of games that we were.
- 2:41We were based in this whole bet off in the 1st place, so it's
- 2:46not on me. I ordered it as soon as as soon
- 2:48as I found a suitable replacement option for the Polo
- 2:54that was out of stock. I think you should have just
- 2:58bought it right away. That's what I think.
- 3:01And then you could have shipped it to me if I would have lost,
- 3:04which I think we all know wasn't going to happen anyway, you
- 3:07know, whatever. Hey, it's all right.
- 3:10I. I'm just not apologizing.
- 3:11Just so we're clear, there's nothing that I need to apologize
- 3:15for. If anybody needs to be
- 3:16apologizing, it's the USPS. It's the the the Postmaster
- 3:21General who I believe is like 50th in line for the presidency,
- 3:26in case you're wondering. Desperate times, you know.
- 3:31If if things get that bad, just know that the Postmaster
- 3:35General. There's no way that job requires
- 3:42too much like innovation, you know what I'm saying?
- 3:45When you're interviewing for that, you're like, you know that
- 3:49bet. They're like, do do you have any
- 3:50new ideas, Sir? And they're like, no, I think we
- 3:54should just keep it the same what we've been doing for the
- 3:56last 50 years. Maybe increase the the the price
- 4:01of stamps by three cents? Stamps are expensive, by the
- 4:06way, it's have you ever we had to buy stamps for, for the thank
- 4:11yous, for the thank you cards that we're currently writing for
- 4:15the wedding. I, I had no idea.
- 4:17That was the first time I've ever bought stamps.
- 4:19We didn't know where to go. I, I had a feeling it would be
- 4:21done at the grocery store over by the weird register where you
- 4:25know, the degenerates are buying their lottery tickets.
- 4:27And I was like, I think that's where you go.
- 4:30And I thought they were like, hey, here's 10 stamps for like
- 4:351/4. No, no, one sleeve of stamps was
- 4:43like $15. I'm like I what is that?
- 4:46You would think an art that is presumably on its way out, just
- 4:52with the digital innovation of being able to contact people via
- 4:56text and e-mail and the like, that maybe the prices would go
- 5:00down in order to encourage people to continue write letters
- 5:03to their family, their friends, their pen pals, whoever.
- 5:08But no, they're really. De incentivizing, incentivizing
- 5:12us to to send these, which by the way, I know half of everyone
- 5:17that's going to get one, including you are going to be
- 5:19like cool, thanks trash. That's not going to hang around.
- 5:23I'm going to put it on my refrigerator.
- 5:25You don't. You don't even know I want to
- 5:27put it on my refrigerator. Let's talk some ball, shall we?
- 5:30We we got to talk some Phillies. We got to talk some Stros.
- 5:35We got to talk some Bobby Witt. We got to talk Gunner Henderson,
- 5:40some Vladdy, some Beau, and maybe some things sprinkled in
- 5:47in between or at the end, who knows?
- 5:49We'll see. We'll see where the conversation
- 5:50takes us. But here we are.
- 5:52Episode 435. Let's start with the Phillies.
- 5:58Pretty good, pretty good ball club up there in the in the PA.
- 6:04Best in baseball actually, if if we want to get technical, but
- 6:09I'm not a Phillies fan. So I'm not going to sit here and
- 6:11and expect people to know that because it was news to me.
- 6:15I don't know Again, as a non Phillies fan here, it's well
- 6:20documented. Not a Phillies fan.
- 6:22I just want that on the record. Not a Phillies fan.
- 6:25Became the the fifth team since the year 2000 to win 35 of their
- 6:30first 49 games. They're 27 and six in their last
- 6:3533 games. They haven't gone 27 or 27 and
- 6:40six or better in any 33 game stretch since.
- 6:42At least take a guess. 08. 2008 wrong. 19 O 8.
- 6:57Wrong. Somewhere in between.
- 7:01No. No, last year.
- 7:05No. Never.
- 7:10It might. It may as well be never 19 O1.
- 7:14What? The Phillies have not gone 27
- 7:16and six or better in any 33 game stretch since at least 19 O.
- 7:21One, and we know like they people couldn't even count back
- 7:24then, so we don't even know how accurate that is.
- 7:27It's possible. It's possible.
- 7:29There should be an asterisk there.
- 7:30There really should. We don't know if 1901 is
- 7:33accurate because there was probably 12 people in the
- 7:36ballpark. So calculators, you know. 90% of
- 7:43the fans probably couldn't see the field because there is
- 7:45probably excessive chain smoking going on just there's.
- 7:48A lot of factors early. 19 early 1900s are very fuzzy.
- 7:52We, we, we don't really know for certain, especially with, with
- 7:55stats such as these, but as we, what we do know in the year
- 8:002020, four, 35 and 14, they're currently six games ahead of the
- 8:07Braves and they're in first place in the division in the
- 8:10National League East. They have a + 83 runner
- 8:12differential, which is tied Nate with the Los Angeles Dodgers for
- 8:20best in baseball. So they're they're doing it on
- 8:24both sides of the ball. That is nuts.
- 8:28But it's highlighted by one, their their efforts as of late
- 8:32have have been highlighted or or led by a an individual in
- 8:37particular by the name of Ranger Suarez, who you, I believe, have
- 8:41on your fantasy team. So maybe give us a little bit of
- 8:44insight as to A, how he's been and to OR, and B rather what a
- 8:52joy it's been to have him on your fantasy team.
- 8:55Well, C, I'm just kidding. Been delightful.
- 8:59Just been delightful. I wanted to confirm because I
- 9:04didn't think so. I did add him as a free agent.
- 9:08He was not drafted. Now, to be fair, this was early.
- 9:12I added this puppy real early and I think it was a toss up.
- 9:18What was the other name? Oh, what's his face with the
- 9:25Royals? What's his face?
- 9:30Brady Singer. That's where I was.
- 9:32I remember I texted my buddy and I was like, what do you think
- 9:35you texted me? Did I text you?
- 9:37You texted. Me.
- 9:38I remember you asking me this question.
- 9:40I was like Ranger, like who has a higher upside, Ranger or Brady
- 9:44Singer? I just want to fill in the
- 9:45roster a little bit. I did have Ranger last year on
- 9:49the squad and he he had some up and down starts.
- 9:54But the man is dominating right now.
- 9:59Dominating. So of course, had to dive into
- 10:02the stats. Had to hit up Baseball Savant
- 10:03for a little bit just to see where everything's coming from.
- 10:08Overall, like not too much of a change in his repertoire.
- 10:16Started rocking the sinker a little bit more, but not like
- 10:20crazy. He's throwing that 33% of the
- 10:23time compared to 28% of the time last year.
- 10:28The slider has basically been eliminated.
- 10:32It looks like he's only throwing four of those this year, so like
- 10:35that's out of the mix. So in reality, he is a pretty
- 10:39consistent four pitch pitcher plus sinker plus curveball plus
- 10:45fastball plus change up just doing his thing.
- 10:50Dude like that. No one's hitting anything.
- 10:54No one's hitting anything. It's been fun to watch.
- 11:01Shots fired. Shots fired from the jealousy
- 11:04corner. Shots fired.
- 11:06Nicholas says Philly's beating up on subpar teams.
- 11:08Impressive. Found the Braves fan.
- 11:12We'll get into that. We'll get into that, but
- 11:15continue. It's just it's been fun to watch
- 11:18dude. Like velocity wise, everything
- 11:23looks about the same, spin looks about the same.
- 11:28He's just, he's just carving. One of the things is no, that's
- 11:35the same too. No one's lifting the fastball
- 11:39against him. So I'm wondering if there I
- 11:41haven't gotten a chance to like sit there and just watch his
- 11:45starts. But when we look at last year,
- 11:47the four seamer, the launch angle on average was about 19°.
- 11:52This year it's 5°, so something tells me that him and JT and the
- 11:59pitching staff and coaching have figured out like, let's work
- 12:02maybe sink her down and then let's work that fastball up in
- 12:06the zone just to show and change eye level.
- 12:12He's just really, really good and he's not even their ace.
- 12:19Can I share some numbers? Please do.
- 12:21Ranger Suarez is now 9 and O with the lowest ERA through 10
- 12:25starts to begin a season since 1916.
- 12:29He has started, as I mentioned, 10 games this year for the
- 12:32Phills and has only given up 10 earned runs.
- 12:35Phillies are 10 and O in those starts.
- 12:41In regards to ranks across Major League Baseball, he is 1st and
- 12:46wins as you would expect. I mean he's he's almost halfway
- 12:50to a 20 game winner season and we're still in May 1st in wins
- 12:59with nine. Second in ERA at 136.
- 13:02Opponents are hitting 174 against him, which is second in
- 13:06all baseball. His WHIP of .79 is also second
- 13:09in baseball and his 68 strikeouts are 7th in all of
- 13:13baseball, which by you, you mentioned he's not even.
- 13:19He's not even their ace. It's worth showing a little bit
- 13:22of love. This isn't solely Ranger
- 13:25Suarez's efforts that that have led to this early, early lead in
- 13:31the standings for the Phillies. We got a look at the rest of the
- 13:34rotation. Bob Winkle on Twitter says good
- 13:38name. Yeah, Bob Winkle noted on
- 13:40Twitter that National League rotations by ERA Phillies have
- 13:45the best in baseball, 259. Next closest is the Dodgers
- 13:50AT33O. It's it's excellent.
- 13:57It's excellent. Look, they're doing this without
- 13:59Trey Turner. They're doing this with a subpar
- 14:05Nick Castellanos, right, Like, and to be fair, you've had some
- 14:11new guys coming to the scene. Brandon Marsh's seem to really
- 14:14find his stride. Alec Boehm is is blooming into
- 14:17what they all expected him to be.
- 14:20Bryce Harper's Bryce Harper. It's, it's pretty impressive in
- 14:27my mind and I don't know, I, I didn't look up shrink the
- 14:31schedule. So I don't know if that comment
- 14:33was was fair or not. I've got that for you as well.
- 14:37Do you? I've got it.
- 14:39Does that explain some things? Let's talk about it in 2024.
- 14:46The Phillies have played well. This is entering, I want to say
- 14:50Tuesday or maybe maybe even today.
- 14:54So this the numbers might be a little off, give or take a game.
- 14:58The Phillies have played just three games against the team
- 15:00with the record currently above 500, and all three of those came
- 15:04on opening weekend against the Braves.
- 15:07Since then, the Phillies have played nineteen of its games
- 15:10against five of Major League Baseball's worst six teams,
- 15:14Reds, Rockies, Marlins, Angels and White Sox.
- 15:18Besides Atlanta, the Phillies have not seen a division leader
- 15:23entering Tuesday. Philly's opponents combined
- 15:27winning percentage this year was 465, by far the lowest in Major
- 15:30League Baseball. The next easiest schedule
- 15:33belonged to Tampa Bay at 477. No other team has a strength of
- 15:37schedule under 480. And to that I say, what do you
- 15:43want them to do? Yeah, what are they supposed?
- 15:46To do you want them to lose? Do.
- 15:47You want them to lose so that they become the laughing stock
- 15:52of baseball because we all know that would be the response.
- 15:55So like, they're kind of in a no win situation here.
- 15:57Ironically, all they're doing it seems is winning.
- 16:00But when you look at the big picture, it's really a no win
- 16:03situation because you you stack them up with these garbage teams
- 16:06out of the gate. They do what they're supposed to
- 16:08do against them and then they hear nothing but well, strength
- 16:10to schedule, strength to schedule, strength to schedule.
- 16:13I would argue, however, say what you want about like, oh, we'll
- 16:17just wait till they see a good team.
- 16:18I was thinking about this today and there's no real logic, no
- 16:22real rhyme or reason as to this line of thinking.
- 16:24It's just, it's kind of what my gut says that I would rather, I
- 16:28would rather be stacked with garbage teams like the Phillies
- 16:30are this year. Get everybody swinging it.
- 16:33Get everybody, I mean Ranger Suarez and the rest of the staff
- 16:36throwing extremely well. Get everybody on the right page,
- 16:38everybody clicking to rack up the wins and put yourself in a
- 16:43in a a state of good mojo and momentum heading into these
- 16:48tougher matchups against these tougher teams.
- 16:52And then by that point, you're the team that's being talked
- 16:55about heading into these matchups and you're starting to
- 16:57feel yourself a little bit if you're the Phillies, regardless
- 17:00if the OR or, you know, not relevant to the conversation
- 17:07being the games that you just played for the first forty,
- 17:10however many games. Yeah, like that.
- 17:13To me, that's better off. I would rather be in a position
- 17:16like the Phillies and be and feel good about yourself going
- 17:20into these tougher matchups than to be a team that OK, yeah,
- 17:23sure, they had a tougher strength to schedule, but you're
- 17:26a little you're a little banged up, little nicked up record wise
- 17:30and maybe personnel wise, who knows?
- 17:32So that's that's just me. Yeah, and we all know like the
- 17:36the not necessarily rust, but like the settling in time that
- 17:41you have to begin a season, you know, pitchers getting their
- 17:44feel, hitters getting their looks and like, yeah, it is a
- 17:50little bit of a blessing for them.
- 17:51But again, what do you want them to do?
- 17:54You know, what do you expect them to do?
- 17:56This is this is how they have to go about things. 35 wins, man,
- 18:04that's that's pretty absurd. But to snag that and, and going
- 18:08while what is it going, getting it while the going's good,
- 18:13something like that. Just getting that lead, you know
- 18:17what I'm saying? Building up that lead in the
- 18:19division. You know, the Braves are going
- 18:21to come eventually. But man, it's still impressive,
- 18:29still good baseball. Yeah.
- 18:34Yeah, I mean, they're, they're doing what they can.
- 18:37And it's not even that they're just winning games like they're,
- 18:41they're, I mean, we just talked about it like they're they're on
- 18:43a historic pace for their franchise.
- 18:48And you've got guys that are just dominating right now.
- 18:51Like Bryce Harperson's coming back.
- 18:54I think I saw he's hitting like 3:30 or something.
- 18:56He's he's one of the best, one of the hottest hitters in
- 19:01baseball right now outside of a guy maybe like Kevin Pillar, who
- 19:05I I don't know if you've seen Kevin Pillar's numbers recently,
- 19:08but that that guy doesn't belong on the on the hottest hitters in
- 19:11baseball list, but he's up there.
- 19:13I don't know where that came from.
- 19:15Pretty. Sure, you picked him up today in
- 19:16fantasy. Yeah, I might drop him.
- 19:18It was a panic move. Had to send Xander to the IL, so
- 19:21I had to, had to snag somebody. Don't know if that do what you
- 19:24got to do, it's going to last. But All in all, it's what my
- 19:29point was that they're not, they're not just getting by with
- 19:33these wins. Like they're, they're doing
- 19:35things that this franchise hasn't seen in like 100 years.
- 19:38And they're they have guys in top three, top five
- 19:42conversations on both sides of the ball regardless, like based
- 19:46on what stat you're looking at. So it's it's impressive to see.
- 19:50And I, I would venture to say that this isn't necessarily
- 19:55going to fade. Like it it may, it may taper, it
- 19:58may taper, it's certainly going to taper.
- 20:00I don't it's not sustainable. But exactly.
- 20:03But I think I think in a way, in a, in a similar way that you
- 20:07look at the Royals and go, OK, like this, this is for real.
- 20:10Like Royals seem to be a little bit of a threat.
- 20:13I think I think the same thing applies to the Phillies.
- 20:15At the end of the year, like, you know, wins or wins and, and
- 20:18that's what the total that you're, you're striving for.
- 20:20And, and then it's division to win it.
- 20:23I, I don't know if it's crazy to say you need to win at least 95
- 20:27games, but I think that's the case in this division with the
- 20:31Braves. I think you need to get at least
- 20:3295 South like wins or wins. Schedule doesn't get much more
- 20:40difficult. They're in the middle of the
- 20:43series with the Rangers at the moment, heading out to Coors to
- 20:47see the Rockies. Little West Coast trip to get
- 20:49the Giants after that, and then they host the Cardinals to start
- 20:53up June. Brewers match.
- 20:58Maybe we need to put some respect on the Cardinals name.
- 21:00They just swept, I don't know if you saw it just swept the
- 21:03Orioles for the first time. The Orioles had not been swept
- 21:07in the regular season. I think it was 106 series.
- 21:09We all know at this point the whole Adley Ruchman effect.
- 21:13Cardinals. That's a no more.
- 21:15That's a maybe a turn your season around type type sweep
- 21:20for the cards. But anyway, looks like the
- 21:24Phillies are still kind of smooth sailing the rest of the
- 21:26month and the beginning of next month, and then things could
- 21:30start to pick up difficulty wise in June.
- 21:32But you gotta do what you gotta do, man Get dubs.
- 21:36Speaking of dubs, the Houston Astros, You idiots, I told you.
- 21:44We've been saying this. We told you this was going to
- 21:47happen. Like how, How dumb do you have
- 21:52to be to think that the Astros were just going to fall off?
- 21:59It was it. It happens every year.
- 22:02It doesn't matter who they have on the team, who they lose,
- 22:05who's on the IL, They find a way to stay in the mix for the
- 22:10majority of the year, if not leading their division, and then
- 22:14they just zoom right on to an ALCALCS appearance, if if not a
- 22:19World Series appearance. It's every year.
- 22:22And look, I get it, they're still under 500.
- 22:25They're not playing, they're still not playing their greatest
- 22:28ball. But having won entering
- 22:31Wednesday, they've won ten of their last thirteen.
- 22:34Don't know how much better it really gets than that outside of
- 22:38just winning out, if we're being honest.
- 22:41Had a walk off from Jeremy Pena. I think he had an RBI single to
- 22:47finish off the Angels last night.
- 22:51But the real story in Houston right now.
- 22:54Kyle Tucker. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:57My goodness, yeah. That I know I've mentioned this
- 23:02multiple times, but the only the only thing that I really think
- 23:06of any more when I think of Kyle Tucker is that moment during
- 23:11what was it the was it the 19 World Series against the
- 23:15Nationals where he was just cheeks.
- 23:21He couldn't do anything but strike out?
- 23:23Wasn't that, wasn't that the 19 World Series that that happened
- 23:28in? I think so.
- 23:31Or no, maybe it was like the 2018 playoffs.
- 23:34It was some way it was. It was 1819.
- 23:37There was an ALCS where the where I think they faced the
- 23:40Yankees that he he struggled. Well, the 18 ALCS was against
- 23:44the Sox. I remember watching that one and
- 23:47then the 19 was the World Series run against the Nationals.
- 23:51But everybody's been saying this like they knew every, we all
- 23:54knew it was in there like this. This is right.
- 23:57I think this is like the I'm coming on the scene, you know,
- 24:00becoming a household name type of year.
- 24:05But I think everyone knew that this was in there.
- 24:08I mean, he's putting himself at the forefront of the MVP
- 24:13conversation. And honestly, I was, I was
- 24:16looking around today, the American League MVP is the race
- 24:22itself is going to be a blast to follow this year.
- 24:26Like I am very excited. There are some dudes and if they
- 24:30can maintain, I mean, some of these, some of these guys are
- 24:34just playing out of their minds right now.
- 24:36So you're again, as we talk about all the time, you're
- 24:39you're going to have your your, your peaks and valleys, but I
- 24:43mean it remotely close. If they can maintain what
- 24:45they're doing, this is going to be an insane race down the
- 24:49stretch. Kyle Tucker right now currently
- 24:52leads all of baseball with seventeen home runs.
- 24:55This is entering Wednesday. He's hitting 29336 ribbies.
- 25:00He has nine stolen bases and OPS of 1075 and OPS plus of two O 6
- 25:07and has accumulated a war thus far of 3 1/2.
- 25:15Yeah, this is like a 4020 cakewalk.
- 25:21That's what we're on pace for. Well, I mean he has, he has
- 25:27twelve home runs in his last 22 games and has, let me check, has
- 25:33more walks and strikeouts this year.
- 25:37What I was going to say too is that like he he rotates in the
- 25:41lineup, he floats like one through 4.
- 25:44I don't know what the philosophy is there, but like they played
- 25:48the Yankees last week. It was like sometimes he was
- 25:51leading off. I think he started two of those
- 25:52games with a lead off home run. What the heck, man?
- 25:58Like who is this guy of being able to do this and in what
- 26:04world were we talking about? Like him being the dude over
- 26:08your dawn and he is right now. I mean, to your Don's credit, he
- 26:15hasn't had the greatest. I mean, he's still, he's still
- 26:18swinging it well, all things considered.
- 26:21But I mean, I don't think he's taken the leap that maybe Kyle
- 26:25Tucker did year to year or year over year, I should say.
- 26:31So you have to take that into consideration.
- 26:34But even if you were Don was swinging it.
- 26:36Well, I don't even know if he I mean, he's leading all of
- 26:40baseball. Like it's not just like, oh,
- 26:43he's leading the squad in the home runs.
- 26:44He's leading the a out. He's literally leading all of
- 26:47baseball, which is just insane. Because again, it goes back to
- 26:50the the point that has been brought up so much in that Kyle
- 26:55Tucker does not get talked about nearly as as much as he should.
- 26:59No. And I understand it's this weird
- 27:01storm of like, well, we don't want to talk about the Astros
- 27:03because it's the Astros. And also, like we want to talk
- 27:07more about your Don because as we always say, a man amongst
- 27:11boys, it seems when he steps to the plate.
- 27:14And then you got guys in the mix like Verlander who often grab
- 27:18that. He grabs headlines from time to
- 27:20time. Kyle Tucker.
- 27:22I just feel like he's there. And like you say, he kind of
- 27:24rotates, he floats. He's just he's there, he's
- 27:27producing. But it's just for some reason
- 27:29just doesn't latch on to the the the mainstream conversation.
- 27:35Yeah, yeah, it's, it's nuts, man.
- 27:38And he, the swing is just like, it's so like in the zone for so
- 27:43long. He really like flattens out
- 27:46early and he's got this really long path.
- 27:54Yeah, man. Like Soto is kind of the only
- 27:58one that I can think of where he's so in the zone for that
- 28:03long. Kyle Tucker's right there.
- 28:06It's it's nuts, man. Maybe we need to address like
- 28:12the swag at some point. The batting gloves, the no
- 28:15batting gloves. I don't, I don't know what's
- 28:16going on there, but you know, whatever.
- 28:19He's a little, he's a little superstitious man.
- 28:21He'll switch it around, whatever's working.
- 28:24I get it. I I'm not even going to blame
- 28:26him. I mean, it would be nice like if
- 28:28you are going to become a household name and be in the
- 28:31maybe, who knows, maybe he's going to be in the MVP
- 28:33conversation on a, on a yearly basis moving forward.
- 28:36If that's the case. I mean, I don't know, man.
- 28:40Like I would say let you know and maybe like try to try to
- 28:42blend in a little bit with the rest of the dudes.
- 28:44They're swagging, swagging out a little bit, but also.
- 28:48Just a little. Also, May, on the flip side of
- 28:51that conversation, you know, maybe just just be the dude that
- 28:55doesn't, you know, we, we need a guy like that every now and
- 28:59then. Just something to consider.
- 29:03You mentioned an automatic 4020 year this year, according to
- 29:08Roto Frank on Twitter. And this was after last night's
- 29:11game. Tuesday night's game, he tweeted
- 29:13out, said Kyle Tucker's 162 game pace after tonight is 57 home
- 29:19runs, 121 runs, 121 RB is and 30 stolen bags. 5030 sounds a
- 29:26little better. Yeah.
- 29:30Sheesh, dude. That's what we're looking at.
- 29:33Speaking of dudes, Bobby Witt junior.
- 29:45No disrespect to Bobby Witt senior, but Bobby Witt junior is
- 29:50the dude and you want to talk about a guy that's going to be
- 29:53in the MVP conversation on a yearly basis moving forward.
- 29:57This guy is one of those guys. But but before we get into the
- 30:02conversation, I I need it's, it's worth repeating.
- 30:05I need to reiterate the fact that I one day, whether it's by
- 30:11winning the fantasy league, whenever that day hopefully
- 30:16comes, it's been years at this point.
- 30:18Haven't had it or just buying it myself, or maybe it's even
- 30:24gifted, who knows, who knows. I'm going to own a powder blue
- 30:31Bobby Witt jersey. It's going to happen.
- 30:34Needs to happen. Needs to happen.
- 30:38And it begs the question, I, I, it got me thinking, I'm like,
- 30:41all right, well, if I, if I went Bobby Witt, like who?
- 30:44What are some other dudes? And kind of going off on a
- 30:46tangent here, who were a couple other dudes that maybe I'd be
- 30:49interested in snacking their jerseys?
- 30:52Who would be like your top three outside of your own Yankees
- 30:57squad? Outside of that, who who were
- 31:01three guys that you would like? No, say money wasn't an object.
- 31:05Say it was me being like, hey, I'll I'll order you 3 jerseys
- 31:08right now. Who, who would it be outside of
- 31:11the Yankees, 'cause I'm sitting there thinking with the Bobby
- 31:14Witt, I'm like that right at, at this very moment.
- 31:17Outside of the socks, that's number one.
- 31:18Easy. That's number one.
- 31:21For sure. Powder blue Bobby Witt.
- 31:23That's number one for me. Let.
- 31:30Me look through, Let me look through.
- 31:32Give me. I feel like it's a little crazy
- 31:45to say I wouldn't mind a Corbin Carroll jersey a black D Backs.
- 31:50I feel you. It's it's, it's a tough time to
- 31:52say it, but yeah, let's just pretend that it's post 2023.
- 31:57Yeah, yeah. Black D Backs, Corbin Carroll
- 32:01Jersey. I think this one might surprise
- 32:08you a little bit. I think a powder blue Rangers
- 32:13Corey Seeger jersey. That's a good pick.
- 32:17You're a big Corey Seeger guy. I'm a big Corey Seeger guy.
- 32:21I'm a sucker for big shortstops, you know, just fun to watch.
- 32:27Third one. Third one.
- 32:28Third one. I might go Gunner Henderson, if
- 32:40I'm being honest. I might go Gunner And then
- 32:43because as I mentioned, I've, I've evolved now into the
- 32:47biggest Mike Trout defender cause the haters, the the number
- 32:50of haters are just climbing. They're they're just off the
- 32:52charts. I may just have to go in Angels
- 32:54Trout Uni if I'm being honest. If the Giants could just have
- 32:59somebody that I would that I would root for, I think the the
- 33:04black SF that's. Very clean.
- 33:08Just give me somebody to to work with there.
- 33:13That's very clean, very, very much into the black unions I
- 33:16see. Black Caro, Black Giants, Uni.
- 33:19Yeah, I like those. I like them a lot.
- 33:23I like it. Well, if you think of somebody
- 33:26to round out that list, yeah. I suppose.
- 33:28Throughout the episode, let me know, but let's talk Bobby Witt
- 33:31here on the season entering Wednesday, he was hitting three
- 33:37O 4, seven home runs, 31 ribbies, 16 stolen bases in a
- 33:41nine O 9 OPS. But it was Tuesday night, the
- 33:45Bobby Witt junior game. Two tanks, 6 ribbies, three hits
- 33:51on the day, three runs scored. And to top it all off, he had a
- 33:55stolen base. But he had what was it over?
- 34:01It was like 900 feet worth of home runs between the two home
- 34:06runs I think I saw. Like 460. 468 It was the longest
- 34:11of his career, I. Was the one that hit the water
- 34:13right? Yeah, just kept going.
- 34:15I think that got the the Patrick Mahomes reaction on Twitter.
- 34:19I. Believe it did.
- 34:20It did. I saw that, yeah.
- 34:22It's one of those ones. I was like when, when the the
- 34:26camera switches, like you, you're obviously behind the
- 34:29pitcher for the at bat. And then when it switches and
- 34:32they, the cameraman's tracking the ball as it's making its way
- 34:35to the outfield. I like watching the reactions of
- 34:37the like it's, it's like a wave of people, like people's hands
- 34:41and arms that like makes their way up and yeah, and you get the
- 34:44people like turned around. So you're like, you can, you can
- 34:46kind of pinpoint where this thing is going to land based on
- 34:49the reactions of the people around the ball.
- 34:51This thing just kept going and like, you just watch the people
- 34:54around and they're just looking, looking, looking.
- 34:56And then it didn't even land in anybody's hands.
- 34:59It landed, like you said, in the water.
- 35:00So that was a a moon shot. I'm telling you, this contract
- 35:04is going to go down as one of the biggest deals.
- 35:07He's so good. It's crazy dude.
- 35:11Friend of the pod Bobby Wood Junior.
- 35:13Friend of the pod curious. Yeah, I might go back and listen
- 35:16to that just for old time sake. Nabbed him early.
- 35:19We nabbed. Him early.
- 35:20Real early. Right after the draft, I
- 35:22believe. Yeah, I think it was like almost
- 35:26immediately after maybe weeks, couple months, but it was it was
- 35:30very, very quick. According to Jason Jake
- 35:35Eisenberg, rather on Twitter, he said Bobby Wade has started all
- 35:38fifty of the Royals games and played 432 of 438 possible and
- 35:42ends at short again entering Wednesday.
- 35:46He's currently got a three-point 2F war, which is tied for second
- 35:49in baseball. He's slashing 304-360-2546.
- 35:54It's got a walk rate of 8.3, strikeout rate of 16.5, hard hit
- 36:00rate of 53.4, +8 outs above average which is first in
- 36:07baseball for shortstops, 7 defensive runs saved, which is
- 36:11tied for first amongst Major League shortstops.
- 36:16And by the way, in case you're wondering, is Bobby Witt really
- 36:19that fast? It's got a 30.4 feet per second
- 36:22rate, which is tied for first in baseball.
- 36:26Is the full package. Yeah, I'm excited for the
- 36:31position of shortstop that Gunner and Bobby Witt are like
- 36:35bringing to baseball. And like, nothing against this
- 36:41group that we saw hit free agency a few years ago.
- 36:44But like Lindor and Correa and Zander, like I think we saw like
- 36:53who they really are post contracts.
- 36:55And now that we're a few years into this, like these guys
- 36:59weren't like generational shortstops.
- 37:02We're now getting this new class of generational shortstops.
- 37:05And I don't know, man, like you and I are a little biased, but
- 37:09like, I just, I feel like the shortstop should be the best
- 37:14player on your team. And it's cool to see these two
- 37:16guys leading the league in a lot of categories.
- 37:19Who are the best players on their respective teams?
- 37:23You mentioned that class and I, I, I think it's, it's worth
- 37:26talking about it. Would you like, is it a stretch
- 37:28to say that maybe that class didn't age as well as we would
- 37:33have hoped? Like, yeah, you've got some,
- 37:35you've got some dudes still in there that are still playing
- 37:38well above average baseball. But I think between maybe
- 37:45certain responses and contracts in terms of maybe a little bit
- 37:49of a fall off with that comfortability, that security or
- 37:54just injuries, is it safe to say that maybe you like, maybe this
- 37:59is our chance for another go with that?
- 38:01Because we're current, like I tweeted out today, and it may,
- 38:05some people may consider controversial, but I'm saying I,
- 38:07I said something along the lines of like, we're playing in the
- 38:11latest golden age of shortstops right now, because you got to
- 38:14think, I mean, we've got Bobby Witt, we've got Gunner
- 38:18Henderson, we've got Trey Turner.
- 38:20I mean, I mean a little bit of an overlap, but like Francisco
- 38:24Lindor currently, the way that baseball is constructed right
- 38:29now roster wise and, and who, who's got their shortstop locked
- 38:35up, or at least who the team knows is going to be their
- 38:39shortstop. Like this is a this is an
- 38:41incredible era for shortstops, I think.
- 38:43Yeah, yeah, I agree. You, you and, you know, there's
- 38:47some talent coming. Yeah.
- 38:51I, I don't get me wrong, there's a huge gap between these guys
- 38:54and this guy. But like, you know, Volpe is
- 38:56starting develop into his own thing.
- 38:58You have Perdomo, who we saw with the D backs who kind of
- 39:01came on. I know he's hurt right now and
- 39:03not, you know, in the picture as much.
- 39:05But like we saw him come onto the scene last year.
- 39:08The D backs have Jordan Lawler, who's going to be coming up any
- 39:11second to who is going to be a stud.
- 39:13Like, I don't know, man, we have, I think we're going to get
- 39:17into this new, this new phase of, of guys taking over.
- 39:24It's freaking cool, man. I'm just a sucker for for a
- 39:28shortstop stud. Well, I was, I was just all
- 39:34giddy this morning just looking around baseball Reference and
- 39:37and doing a little compare and contrast between Bobby Witt and
- 39:40Gunnar Henderson, because that's a guy who both of which are on
- 39:44my fantasy team. So little added incentive there.
- 39:47Thank you for Bobby Witt, by the way.
- 39:49Thank you. It hurts.
- 39:51Every single time he's brought up it hurts.
- 39:54Yep. I never should have done it.
- 39:55I knew I shouldn't have done it. That's all right.
- 39:58That's all right. But I'm I'm super excited in
- 40:02particular about those two guys. So I wanted to ask you.
- 40:08Because to be honest with you, I don't know if we've really
- 40:10talked about Gunner as much as we should have.
- 40:12Similar to a name like Kyle Tucker.
- 40:15Don't know if we've given Gunner the the respect he's been due on
- 40:17this particular show to date. But on the season, he's hitting
- 40:21267. He's got 16 bombs, which as we
- 40:24know is right there at the top. 34 ribbies, seven stolen bases,
- 40:27946 OPS and an OPS plus of 171. And this was before I think
- 40:32that. Well, yeah, they played today,
- 40:33played the Cardinals, they wrapped up that series.
- 40:35So those numbers might be slightly off, but All in all,
- 40:37having a great year and another name that's right there in the
- 40:42mix for American League MVP. So I wanted to ask you, between
- 40:46those two, this is an impossible question.
- 40:49Who would you rather build your franchise around?
- 40:55I guess I'll, I'll take Bobby just because of the, the speed
- 40:58factor, because like if you're just going to say it's a
- 41:03Washington on everything else, it seems like all the other
- 41:06tools are a little bit of a Washington.
- 41:08Like they're both incredible defensively.
- 41:11I guess I'll just give the edge to Bobby for speed and stolen
- 41:17bases. I mean, we can assume, right
- 41:19that that Bobby is going to age better at short with his frame
- 41:25as opposed to a guy like Gunner. I feel like Gunner is going to
- 41:27going to. What's the size difference
- 41:29there? You know, I don't know, like the
- 41:32height difference, but it just seems like Gunner is going to be
- 41:35a guy that's going to have and it's not a it's not a a knock
- 41:39against him, but it seems like Gunner's going to be the type of
- 41:41guy that evolves into a third baseman role sooner than maybe a
- 41:47guy like Bobby Wood. And I know there there's a
- 41:49couple age or a couple years in the age difference there, but I
- 41:56don't know. I just feel like Bobby's frame,
- 41:57he's a little seems like he's a little lighter on his feet.
- 42:00I don't know the advanced numbers, they may say otherwise,
- 42:04but I think I think Bobby Whit Junior's going to age a little
- 42:08better at the shortstop position.
- 42:11Yeah, Gunnar 63195, the other. Bobby wait say it is 63195.
- 42:19Bobby's 61190 so. OK.
- 42:22Yeah. So yeah, size is going to get
- 42:26you eventually. What I was going to say is like
- 42:31nothing against Gunner, nothing against orgeals organization,
- 42:34but like, let's face it, the the the solidifying of shortstop was
- 42:42it took a little bit of time. Like there were conversations
- 42:45about him, you know, being at short or being at third, being
- 42:48at second. Like is Jackson a better
- 42:51shortstop? Does he come into that mix?
- 42:53Like even last year we saw Gunner playing a lot of third
- 42:56and a lot of second. It's been like this clear path
- 43:01for Bobby to be at shortstop like a no brainer when when he
- 43:06was drafted, like that was the move that's in.
- 43:08And I don't know if that has to do with the organization or, you
- 43:11know, the lack of roster depth in certain areas, like whatever.
- 43:14It's just it felt like that was more of like, we know this is
- 43:19our shortstop. The Orioles know this now with
- 43:22Gunner, but there was a little bit of hesitation beforehand.
- 43:25So I don't know, give me the edge to to Bobby.
- 43:29I'm assuming you're the same way.
- 43:33Yeah, I think that's where I'm landing.
- 43:35I mean not. By much.
- 43:37I know pop wise Gunners got substantial edge in that
- 43:42category thus far, but I mean, I think I think the pop will will
- 43:48continue to develop for Bobby and I yeah, I think I, I think I
- 43:56he just, I don't know, dude. I love the way both of those
- 43:58guys play the game. But yeah, I've like I've been
- 44:02seeing post game clips of Bobby and just the way he's like he's
- 44:05just interacting with with the social media team and with fans
- 44:09and the guys on his team. He's just got like a swag's not
- 44:15the right word, but he's got like this charisma where I'm
- 44:18like that's, that's I need that. Big confidence.
- 44:23I need that for a guy that I want to build my franchise
- 44:25around. I need that.
- 44:27And not to say that Gunner doesn't have similar qualities,
- 44:29but not as to me, at least not as pronounced as what Bobby
- 44:33brings to the table. That's just me.
- 44:37Speaking of some other young dudes, Vladdy, Junior, Beau on
- 44:42the table possibly. Are they getting traded?
- 44:46Are they getting shipped out? Let's see what Nate has to say.
- 44:52I don't know. First off, I'm going to say not,
- 44:55not both of them. I'm I'm going to plant my flag
- 44:59on the fact that I don't think both of them.
- 45:02You are definitively saying that the Blue Jays, despite their
- 45:06struggles. I think they keep one.
- 45:08OK. I have a feeling they keep Bo.
- 45:16I think Bo stays. I'm with you on that.
- 45:21Power hitting first baseman are are still rare, but like it's
- 45:27it's more rare to find, you know, this kind of shortstop.
- 45:31So I feel like Vlad is the one that goes.
- 45:36I don't think he goes, but if there is one, I think he's the
- 45:40one. Do you think there's like a a
- 45:42frustration brewing amongst the Blue Jays organization
- 45:47specifically maybe with like the front office?
- 45:49And maybe the whole reason this conversation is, is being
- 45:52brought up anyway is they're like, dude, like, come on, man,
- 45:56you've been a part of this picture for a while now.
- 45:58We've been waiting. And not to say that like he
- 46:00hasn't, he hasn't produced, but like there has to be a little
- 46:06bit of disappointment. I would think on behalf of the
- 46:10front office and maybe even fans alike that they're like this,
- 46:14that we're not getting that like we're still wanting for more
- 46:18essentially like that we're we haven't quite gotten and I I
- 46:21hate to keep beating us in the ground, but like we haven't
- 46:23gotten that movie yet from Vladdy Junior and it's it's
- 46:28maybe causing a little bit of division amongst the the
- 46:32organization. I, I genuinely think it's a lack
- 46:37of maturity. Like I'm, I'm kind of ready to
- 46:42be like, who were you when 100% of your focus is being better at
- 46:49baseball? You know what I'm saying?
- 46:52Like where, when are we going to see like the I I'm he's got to
- 47:01trim down. And I know he's shown up to
- 47:04camp, you know, a few different times in his career so far that
- 47:07he's like, hey, slimmer than he was last year.
- 47:11He's got to slim down. He's got to get better at first
- 47:13base. And I'm waiting to see like,
- 47:15when are you going to get over this hump of like, I'm ready to
- 47:19be a Hall of Famer. And it it there's so much.
- 47:24And I don't know if it has to do with the Blue Jays organization
- 47:26or their clubhouse or their roster, but there is like this
- 47:30like unearned swagger, chip on your shoulder chirping that they
- 47:42all do. And we've talked about like,
- 47:45that's one of our issues with Manoa.
- 47:47It's like, what have you done to talk this way?
- 47:50What have you done to walk this way?
- 47:52Like, show me more. And and are you getting this
- 47:58treatment if your name isn't junior, You know what I'm
- 48:02saying? Like how much of this still is
- 48:06acceptable if if you're a different name, I he, he gets
- 48:13under my skin and and that's a biased thing, of course.
- 48:17Like I can't stand the Blue Jays.
- 48:20They drive me insane. But everything out of Vlad's
- 48:23mouth is like, it's, it's like the like, doubt me.
- 48:28I'll show you in in like the the Yankees.
- 48:32All they do is think about us and like, it's, it's everything
- 48:35out of his mouth is like, and it's like at some point, shut up
- 48:39and show me what your potential is.
- 48:42So you're not referencing anything like as like, 'cause I
- 48:45don't think Vlad, he's made headlines for anything sound
- 48:48bite wise as of late. You're you're saying more
- 48:51generally like. Big sure.
- 48:53It's just big sure. It's just since we've seen him
- 48:55something. That's developed, yeah.
- 48:57Since he's been here and it's, it's like this, I don't know you
- 49:00just you haven't earned it yet. So you think he's the one that's
- 49:04going to go? Tell me where you where you see
- 49:07him going. I looked through place, I looked
- 49:09through different places and there was AI think an article
- 49:13that came out on Bleacher Report of like the top 10 landing
- 49:17spots. Here are some spots where I
- 49:19eliminated that were on that list, the Royals and the Astros.
- 49:26I got rid of those guys only one and I know this isn't like the
- 49:31end all be all, but they only have one top 100 ranked
- 49:35prospect. So I don't think there's enough
- 49:38to. I think the Blue Jays asking
- 49:39price is going to be pretty high.
- 49:40So I'm going to eliminate those guys.
- 49:43I'm going to eliminate the guardians, plenty of of top
- 49:47ranked guys, but they have Kyle Menzardo who is like like a true
- 49:52pure hitter. We saw him in spring training
- 49:55lefty and I think they're really high on him.
- 49:57I think he's probably going to be up this year or he's up
- 50:01already. I think he's gotten some A VS
- 50:03already. He's going to settle in.
- 50:06I got rid of the Giants. They have a young Giants.
- 50:11Can I chime in there? I got just a note and I'll let
- 50:13you keep rolling. That was actually, that was
- 50:15actually my pick. I I mean, there's really,
- 50:19there's so much speculation that goes into something like this as
- 50:22we all, I mean, we see this every offseason, like who's
- 50:24going to end up where? So it's really just kind of
- 50:26looking at some general numbers. And weirdly enough, this is
- 50:30super, super insignificant, but it's just interesting.
- 50:36So I'm like, you know, it it the stars might align for a team
- 50:40like the Giants, Oracle Park, it's the smallest sample size of
- 50:47any ballpark in Major League Baseball.
- 50:48For flattish junior, he has seven A BS in Oracle Park.
- 50:52He has three hits. Two of them are home runs.
- 50:59And then you combine that with the fact that that Vladdy Junior
- 51:02isn't an elite name star that the Giants seemingly miss out on
- 51:08every year. He's a tear down or some would
- 51:12maybe even argue two tears down. I would say one tear down when
- 51:16he's playing his best ball, he's I would say he's a tear down
- 51:19right there in that wheelhouse. And I think right now the only
- 51:23the only thing they're really working with is Lamont Wade
- 51:25Junior. Yeah, there first.
- 51:27So who? Transitioned from the outfield
- 51:29to first base, you know, so it's not even like that was his home.
- 51:33Yeah, I agree I don't hate it. The only reason I said no, they
- 51:36have Bryce Eldridge who is a pretty high ranked prospect.
- 51:39His due date is 2026 so I think he's he's around the corner but
- 51:45I don't hate the because there is still a year control left for
- 51:49Vlad I believe. Year, year and a half.
- 51:52I mean, I think it was two at the start of this year.
- 51:55So the rest of this year and next year, yeah, I, I, I said no
- 51:59only because of what? That, but I, I get your
- 52:02argument. My, my maybe spots, and then
- 52:05I'll give you my pick. You know this better than I do.
- 52:08But I, I thought the Red Sox could maybe consider it.
- 52:13The Green Monster is, is just up for grabs.
- 52:17I mean, that's, that's like the dream in Fenway is to have a, a
- 52:21power bat from the right side. They do have three top 100
- 52:26ranked prospects. They rank 18th in farm systems
- 52:31according to Bleacher Report. They have Kenley Jensen coming
- 52:34off the books next year too. So like if you're talking
- 52:38extension, it could be done that is a payroll move.
- 52:43Casas is going to be your guy at first moving forward and I would
- 52:46venture to say that Rafi moves to the DH spot sooner than we
- 52:49think. That's fair.
- 52:51I was going to say I, I if, if that does happen, I think Casas
- 52:54would be included in the deal. I think they're too high on on
- 52:58casas especially which. Yeah, and I don't know if.
- 53:00The Jays would go in the division to be honest with.
- 53:03You that's true. That's true.
- 53:04That's why it's a maybe for me. Another maybe.
- 53:07The Twins, they ranked 15th in the in farm systems.
- 53:10They have four top 100 guys. Three of those guys are
- 53:14outfielders. I have a feeling that's what the
- 53:17Blue Jays are looking for. His amount field depth and and
- 53:20getting younger there. The Cubs have the number one
- 53:24ranked prospect farm. They have seven top 100 guys.
- 53:29Do they need to make that move? Are they ready to win?
- 53:32I don't know. So my pick is the Mariners.
- 53:36It's that sweet spot. They're the 12th ranked farm
- 53:39system. They have four top 100 guys.
- 53:41I, I'm, I think I'm kind of done with the Thai France situation.
- 53:46I think he would probably be included in that deal.
- 53:49He's set to be a free agent next year anyway.
- 53:54I, I like that spot. They're in a win now mode.
- 53:57I know that Astros have started to turn it around, but like
- 54:00right now they're controlling this division and they need to
- 54:05be in contention this year. So I know that's not like a
- 54:09super out-of-the-box pick. I know there's plenty out there
- 54:12that are picking the Mariners, too, but that's what I landed
- 54:14on. I like it.
- 54:17Yeah, Beau. Real quick note on Beau if he
- 54:20does go anywhere, maybe Dodgers include Gavin Lux in.
- 54:29There with some. Prospects just move on from that
- 54:31experiment. They have a 6th ranked farm by
- 54:35the way. I did also put the Red Sox.
- 54:40Don't know there be a little weird.
- 54:43Depends on not quickly Marcelo gets up, but.
- 54:47The real underdog pick for me would be the Guardians because
- 54:52of the first base being taken care of with that Bryce Eldridge
- 54:55kid or excuse me, the Kalamazardo kid.
- 54:58I think. I think the Guardians have
- 55:01enough to make that move and like, I don't know, maybe you
- 55:07get him for a little bit and I don't think they extend him, but
- 55:11at least he get him for this year and like try to make a run
- 55:14and he fits into like what they do.
- 55:16They just slap the ball around. All over the field.
- 55:18That's a good point. That's a good point.
- 55:20That's their philosophy. So I I.
- 55:22Don't know, I could see it there too.
- 55:24I like that. I like that pick.
- 55:27I I don't think he goes anywhere, but I can definitely
- 55:30see that. Yeah, the other, the other
- 55:33competition to this is I, I think Willie Adamas is going to
- 55:36get moved at some point this year.
- 55:39True. So that's what Beau is competing
- 55:41against and it just depends on asking price.
- 55:44Well, kind of putting a bow on this whole thing and I, I
- 55:46alluded to it earlier, but I was looking at the, the shortstop
- 55:50situations across Major League Baseball.
- 55:52You would be surprised at how many teams are set at short.
- 55:55Yeah. There are very few teams that I
- 55:58think would be willing to part with with high level prospects
- 56:02for a guy like Beau given their their current situation.
- 56:05Like they're very few and the the the few that would need a
- 56:09guy like Beau, it's like why, why now?
- 56:12Why him so? It's it's especially small when
- 56:16and again, for both of these names, it's got to be almost to
- 56:19compete now, right? And almost a payroll that be
- 56:22willing to try and extend and it, it really narrows it down.
- 56:28The market's not that big, which I that means that's why, that's
- 56:32why I don't think they're going anywhere.
- 56:33I don't think the Blue Jays are going to budget on their asking
- 56:35price. And the market isn't as big for
- 56:38Bo, little bigger for Vlad, but yeah.
- 56:44I mean, who knows, maybe the Tigers just say screw it, cut
- 56:47ties with Javi and. I'd be legit.
- 56:51Go get Bo. I mean, because they're kind of
- 56:53right there in the mix. Who knows?
- 56:54Well, we'll see. I like, I like your pick of the
- 56:56Guardians a little better. That makes, I think that makes a
- 56:58little more sense. Well, that about does it unless
- 57:01you have anything else. I know it's a little quicker
- 57:03than usual, but we got to get out of here.
- 57:06Normal. It's normal length and we're
- 57:08calling it quicker than usual. Well, we we're we're SOB an hour
- 57:12right now, so. That's what healthy podcast
- 57:15length looks like. That's true.
- 57:17We're we're we're SOB an hour right now.
- 57:19So we can still take advantage of that if we get out of here.
- 57:22But if we, if we continue on for much longer, we'll be, yeah,
- 57:25we're, I mean, hour 15 is usually where we end up more
- 57:29times than not. So it is, it is a little
- 57:31shorter, a little a little shorter than normal.
- 57:33So feel like we got to everything we wanted to.
- 57:37So unless there's anything you got to add, think we're good.
- 57:42I promise. Hopefully.
- 57:44Well, I, I can't promise 'cause it's the USPS, who knows what
- 57:47they're doing. Hope to have the the A's polo by
- 57:51next episode and it'll be Billy Beane for the next 14 episodes
- 57:56from there on out. Can't freaking wait.
- 57:59Can't wait. I love it.
- 58:01Let's have a good weekend, everybody.
- 58:03We're basically there. Don't go chasing curveballs.
- 58:06Love you all, and as always, looking forward to talking more
- 58:08baseball with you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
