- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka to Learn Swedish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and with me is Luna. Today we're doing something practical – renting an apartment in Swedish. Luna: Oh, exciting! I've been thinking about moving, so this is perfect. What's the first thing I'd say? Lucas: You'd start with: 'Jag vill hyra en lägenhet.' That means 'I want to rent an apartment.' Let's hear you try it. Luna: Jag vill hyra en lägenhet. Jag vill hyra en lägenhet. How was that? Lucas: Perfect! Clear and confident. So you're at a rental agency or looking at an ad. Next, you'll want to ask about the size. Luna: Right. How do I ask how many rooms? Lucas: You say: 'Hur många rum är det?' – 'How many rooms are there?' Repeat after me: Hur många rum är det? Luna: Hur många rum är det? Hur många rum är det? That's a mouthful, but I got it. Lucas: You did. Now, you also want to know where it is. So ask: 'Var ligger lägenheten?' – 'Where is the apartment?' Luna: Var ligger lägenheten? Var ligger lägenheten? Okay, that's simpler. Lucas: Exactly. And the big question – the rent. 'Hur mycket är hyran?' – 'How much is the rent?' Luna: Hur mycket är hyran? That's crucial. So I'd ask all these in order? Lucas: Exactly. Once you like it, you need to know when you can move in: 'När kan jag flytta in?' – 'When can I move in?' Luna: När kan jag flytta in? När kan jag flytta in? Sounds like a plan. And if everything fits, what do I say? Lucas: You say: 'Det låter bra, jag tar den.' – 'That sounds good, I'll take it.' Let's try that: Det låter bra, jag tar den. Luna: Det låter bra, jag tar den. Det låter bra, jag tar den. Perfect! Now I can rent an apartment! But Lucas, apartments in Stockholm are so expensive.
