- 1:03Speaker 4: where were you last week?
- 1:05Speaker 5: Was?
- 1:06Speaker 2: I was in nowhere, middle of nowhere.
- 1:07Speaker 5: I was that at Delby doing some work with Tommy
- 1:10Speaker 5: Herschel and find your feet out there. I went out
- 1:13Speaker 5: to school out there and had to chat to some kids,
- 1:17Speaker 5: and I went to the Dolby Devils and McCulloch area. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 5: they're still filthy at I mean, doesn't ever go back
- 1:25Speaker 5: out there?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Got where he's from? Yeah, we didn't very much. He
- 1:30Speaker 3: probably doesn't like him for that reason.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Go back home.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Remember where you come from, mate, Dolbie boy, you say
- 1:35Speaker 4: that you're from that you're in Delby. But is there
- 1:37Speaker 4: any truth or the rumored that you were taking your
- 1:39Speaker 4: dog to the chiropractor?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well? What is this?
- 1:42Speaker 1: This chat?
- 1:42Speaker 3: About this chiropractor for a dog that is the dog
- 1:46Speaker 3: that's the most Hollywood thing over.
- 1:48Speaker 1: How much your dog goes to a chiropractor? How much
- 1:51Speaker 1: push money you got anything else?
- 1:55Speaker 3: We need to sponsor this? Why don't you sponsor our potty?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Like throw some cash at us.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Do you feed your dog?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yes, obviously.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I don't take my fish from.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Fishing messages do Yeah?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Everyone needs a fish at the end of the day.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Everyone needs to rubbed. I love that animal in your house.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I say, I'll bark for a for a free message.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I prove it.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Then YouTube had a shocking round on the tip all right,
- 2:27Speaker 4: five out eight youtual three out of eight. So, as
- 2:30Speaker 4: the leaderboard of the MA Sammy just in front thirty
- 2:32Speaker 4: nine thirty eight.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I want to be proud of any of those.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Yeah, the amount of games we've had, only had thirty
- 2:38Speaker 4: nine is not great.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Think we should be around fifty.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But anyway, but on some big games, thirty.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Nine it's a life.
- 2:46Speaker 5: It's been nine rounds and I think und out of
- 2:51Speaker 5: rounds we have not been good at all.
- 2:52Speaker 1: No, oh wow, that is awful, and you really think so?
- 2:55Speaker 5: Whoever, like, if there's anyone out there that are following
- 2:57Speaker 5: our tips.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Please, I reckon, there's one week we were okay, is.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It eight games a week?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yes?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yes, I don't know my mass.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's seventy two.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Oh that's awful.
- 3:12Speaker 4: In your absence, we won our first multi because Bruce,
- 3:15Speaker 4: you didn't pick one. Bruce picked, You'll play picked Cobbo,
- 3:18Speaker 4: and I went with do you go?
- 3:23Speaker 2: I went the hell hello like HeLa.
- 3:26Speaker 1: So we finally want finally dollar ten, a dollar four? Well,
- 3:31Speaker 1: good on you guys. Yeah, gamble, So.
- 3:33Speaker 3: You're the problem is what we always we're trying to say.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So we'll let Bruce pick again and see what happens
- 3:38Speaker 1: this week.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Sweet, let Bruce go again.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you give us your thought, but we're not going
- 3:42Speaker 1: to put it in.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm not even going to give you that.
- 3:44Speaker 1: No, we want yeah now because then we'll know who not.
- 3:48Speaker 5: All right, I will then give us one. I'll let
- 3:51Speaker 5: you know right now. I'm going to say Milky Jackson
- 3:53Speaker 5: Jenkins for a hat trick.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Hat trick against who. We'll get to that because let's
- 3:58Speaker 1: talk about that. This is the bonus round.
- 3:59Speaker 4: So we'll talk about the games that were Cowboys against
- 4:03Speaker 4: the Bulldogs for the first game of the round had
- 4:05Speaker 4: a big one, didn't they.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they did.
- 4:08Speaker 5: The Doggies were in it for a period of time,
- 4:10Speaker 5: but in minutes, No, it was twelve for a fair bit,
- 4:14Speaker 5: and then they just kind of crumbled. They they are
- 4:17Speaker 5: really lacking when it comes to attack at the moment.
- 4:19Speaker 5: I don't know what needs to happen. They need to
- 4:21Speaker 5: change something up. But the Cowboys. This is a game
- 4:25Speaker 5: in the past where the Cowboys would have lost because
- 4:27Speaker 5: they weren't able to hang in there and then score
- 4:31Speaker 5: points late. In this game, they did one of the
- 4:33Speaker 5: one of the softest trials I've ever seen, though, Brandon Burns,
- 4:38Speaker 5: I think, you know, I.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Say, you know, people say defense wins games. It does.
- 4:43Speaker 2: For the Dogs. I feel like their confidence comes out
- 4:45Speaker 2: of their attack.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you know what I mean, Like the
- 4:49Speaker 3: defense will still win the game, but their confidence comes
- 4:51Speaker 3: out of their attack. And what I've seen was they
- 4:54Speaker 3: aren't confident at all in their attack, which is so
- 4:57Speaker 3: weird for the Dogs. Last year they were, they were
- 5:00Speaker 3: all insyne, they were all playing look sharp, they look great,
- 5:04Speaker 3: you know.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And is there a big change? What's different? I don't know.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I can't put it. Yeah, I can't.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I can't tell you exactly what I think it is,
- 5:11Speaker 3: but I've noticed that their confidence is with their attack
- 5:16Speaker 3: and defense will win the game. But if their attack
- 5:18Speaker 3: ain't flying, I feel like their defense isn't isn't working,
- 5:21Speaker 3: yeah at all.
- 5:22Speaker 4: So well, speaking of confidence, what about the Storm. The
- 5:25Speaker 4: Storm lost to the Dolphins.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Dolphins played wet, very wet conditions.
- 5:31Speaker 5: It was extremely wet. I was sitting on the silence. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 5: I should have. Actually, is that at some corps, Like
- 5:40Speaker 5: I tried to be fancy and I try to wear
- 5:41Speaker 5: jeans and joggers just to be jeans, and it's good
- 5:45Speaker 5: idea the jobbers, Yeah, just to be more casual and
- 5:47Speaker 5: because like you are, there's a fair bit of walking
- 5:49Speaker 5: around you do at the start of the game. Yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 5: it's a bad choice. I should have won, buddy my
- 5:53Speaker 5: leather boots. Anyway, Storm started off well, yeah, and then
- 5:59Speaker 5: I don't know, I just couldn't hang in there in
- 6:00Speaker 5: the end.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And it's funny.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I had a chat with camera monthst after the game.
- 6:03Speaker 5: I didn't listen to. That was very good chat done. Yeah, thanks,
- 6:06Speaker 5: I appreciate that. But like even after the cameras that
- 6:10Speaker 5: stopped rolling, I just said, hey, you feeling, and he
- 6:12Speaker 5: just kind of said, it's been so hard this season
- 6:16Speaker 5: and trying to wrestle back momentum. It's like the momentum
- 6:20Speaker 5: swings are so big within the game now and then
- 6:24Speaker 5: it's out of the players control. So gone to the
- 6:26Speaker 5: days where the Melbourne Storm could get out to a
- 6:29Speaker 5: ten point lead and then kick to the corner and
- 6:32Speaker 5: strangle the hell out of you and then you end
- 6:35Speaker 5: up breaking the last twenty minutes and then they score
- 6:37Speaker 5: a few more to put you to bed. Those days
- 6:40Speaker 5: are gone now. They can't do that. That's you know,
- 6:42Speaker 5: that's the style of football Melbourne Storm have been known
- 6:45Speaker 5: for for so long and they can't play that style
- 6:48Speaker 5: anymore because the six again rule has absolutely taken it out. So,
- 6:53Speaker 5: you know, the last kind of fifteen to ten minutes
- 6:55Speaker 5: of the first half, it was all Dolphins and they
- 6:58Speaker 5: were coming home strong, wind in their sale and scored
- 7:02Speaker 5: some points leading into halftime, and then again at the
- 7:05Speaker 5: end of the second half, the last twenty minutes of
- 7:07Speaker 5: the second half where you know, Melbourne really needed to
- 7:09Speaker 5: front load energy to kind of get back into the
- 7:11Speaker 5: game and maybe get the victory. They had no energy
- 7:14Speaker 5: and effort left and it kind of made me watch
- 7:16Speaker 5: the rest of the games over the weekend differently, So
- 7:18Speaker 5: I watched them differently, going all right, where's the momentum
- 7:21Speaker 5: swings and there's no like the case in point is
- 7:26Speaker 5: no bigger than the game with the Roosters and the Broncos. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 5: what about momentum in the first half? It was seventy
- 7:33Speaker 5: thirty percent possession to the Roosters, so many six agains
- 7:38Speaker 5: in that first half for the Roosters. Why, I have
- 7:42Speaker 5: no idea, And that's what frustrates the hell out of me.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Is Yeah, I'll never stop saying it. If it wasn't
- 7:47Speaker 3: a penalty before, where's the penaly in it now? Because
- 7:51Speaker 3: that's what that is.
- 7:52Speaker 2: That's citely a penalanty.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's continually to play on, right, Yeah, and you
- 7:56Speaker 3: start your set again. So that was never a penalty
- 7:59Speaker 3: before because we can't see it.
- 8:00Speaker 4: And if you two can't work it out, what's what's
- 8:02Speaker 4: the regular we're supposed to work point?
- 8:05Speaker 3: I thought that's what the rule was. Yeah, it would
- 8:07Speaker 3: have been a palet, but we're not. We're not on
- 8:09Speaker 3: the game for it because it's a small one.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so move on.
- 8:11Speaker 3: But it's that I think that's where they they've gone wrong,
- 8:15Speaker 3: but good changing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: The second half of the Bronx was believe that that
- 8:19Speaker 1: Duffy Wow.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Yeah he came out there and played well, proven, proven
- 8:24Speaker 5: again again name this week?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Is that where you've been? You've been at the press conferences.
- 8:32Speaker 1: We didn't get the men look back in front of
- 8:35Speaker 1: the tribunal.
- 8:36Speaker 2: To my CEO career.
- 8:37Speaker 3: So I'm just trying to follow daver And do you
- 8:40Speaker 3: know what that sounds for no executives something?
- 8:50Speaker 5: Actually I'm the CEO of my life, yeating off executive.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I don't know what is just cross it just what
- 9:00Speaker 2: my mind.
- 9:00Speaker 4: What killed the momentum for the Broncos was when Stags
- 9:04Speaker 4: got sent off, because that's going to do and then yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 4: is he going to get time for that's two weeks?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Two weeks? Yeah, he's lucky.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I think it was at the elbow that was the
- 9:17Speaker 4: all of.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It, and I thought, this is how they do it. Now.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I've looked at the suspensions and I don't think they're
- 9:22Speaker 3: as bad as they used to be. I think, well,
- 9:25Speaker 3: if you look at that, it's forceful. It was the
- 9:28Speaker 3: tackles over no reason for it. Yeah, there's so many
- 9:32Speaker 3: other things that you can say about that, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: heat at the moment, Yeah, that's about it. But everything else,
- 9:39Speaker 3: like if that's it and they head a high tackle,
- 9:42Speaker 3: he's getting five weeks. Yeah right, I don't see it
- 9:45Speaker 3: much different. But I think he's very lucky to only
- 9:48Speaker 3: get two weeks.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Yeah, in all honesty, like Friday to Sunday, you see
- 9:52Speaker 5: that happening. You know, three out of five tackles in
- 9:56Speaker 5: every set. Yeah, it happened. It always Yeah, but there
- 10:00Speaker 5: was definitely a brain explosion from him. Had a carrigan
- 10:03Speaker 5: put his hand up in the presser. So if you
- 10:05Speaker 5: didn't drop the ball in that last ten minutes, he
- 10:07Speaker 5: doesn't put the pressure on the team and then you know,
- 10:10Speaker 5: you don't become desperate for you know, trying to trying
- 10:14Speaker 5: to make your mark. So you know he's going to
- 10:16Speaker 5: have to sit some time, and like.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I never want whose passionate ever.
- 10:21Speaker 5: The way he might have shot himself in the foot,
- 10:23Speaker 5: like you know, there's a lot of outside back injuries
- 10:26Speaker 5: for the New South Wales and the market would be
- 10:28Speaker 5: in contention right to be selected for New South. Wow,
- 10:31Speaker 5: So he's missing two weeks. The team gets named on
- 10:34Speaker 5: Monday after Magic Round, which is next week, so you know,
- 10:40Speaker 5: he could have been you know, getting another New South
- 10:43Speaker 5: Wales Jersey.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But yeah, he would have been himself a lot of
- 10:45Speaker 3: favors to be there in the next two weeks. I'm
- 10:48Speaker 3: not saying he probably won't still be in contention, but
- 10:50Speaker 3: it's never good having those weeks off before the game.
- 10:53Speaker 3: But look that gay, I'd see how many things did
- 10:56Speaker 3: have in it that just kept going wrong for the Bronx,
- 10:58Speaker 3: Like Dan, Yeah, you know, I've heard a lot of
- 11:02Speaker 3: chat about people saying about the cork.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Why do you go back on?
- 11:07Speaker 4: Can we just go back to basics though, Like for
- 11:09Speaker 4: people that you know never played contactport, what is a cork?
- 11:12Speaker 5: I got a cork yesterday at the coffee shop and
- 11:16Speaker 5: I almost went down, but I was like, there's people watching,
- 11:20Speaker 5: so I had to stay brave.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I didn't want to spill the coffee. I had a
- 11:23Speaker 2: white shirt, so when you hit, you hit.
- 11:28Speaker 5: So I literally turned the corner a little bit too
- 11:30Speaker 5: fast and like the corner, the railing of the stairs
- 11:33Speaker 5: hit me like smack bang, and the thigh and I
- 11:36Speaker 5: was just like Holy Thirday. Players every week, every game
- 11:43Speaker 5: will play through a cork.
- 11:45Speaker 2: They will get a cork.
- 11:46Speaker 4: In the game and.
- 11:49Speaker 3: You play players remember that from years was it Melbourne
- 11:52Speaker 3: or playing that playing for the Bronx. He got a
- 11:54Speaker 3: cork and he couldn't He was on crutches, I think
- 11:56Speaker 3: for four days, but he played with finish the game.
- 11:59Speaker 3: I don't know if he finished, but he played a
- 12:01Speaker 3: lot of the game with that cork, you know. So
- 12:04Speaker 3: there's so many time where we played with corks. You
- 12:06Speaker 3: pat it up, which demail and padded it up. You know,
- 12:08Speaker 3: the corks they hurt like hell in the cords, especially.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Like at the time you got a cork and you
- 12:13Speaker 2: thought you break your leak.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That wasn't that. I didn't get a cork. Then that one,
- 12:17Speaker 3: Oh that wasn't a cool. Boss bleeding out of my leg.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It looked like a compound fractured. Everyone thought it was The.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Doctor said it was a compound fractioned. No one else did,
- 12:26Speaker 3: not even our doctors. Yeah, but then when I heard compound,
- 12:28Speaker 3: I just went in them. I lost me and getting
- 12:32Speaker 3: back to de man, Look what happened with him is
- 12:36Speaker 3: just so normalous on a joke, like getting the cork,
- 12:39Speaker 3: getting the cork, getting going in, getting patted up, getting everything,
- 12:44Speaker 3: you know, taped up tight. That's what you do. That's
- 12:45Speaker 3: what that's what happens. They do it on the fielding
- 12:47Speaker 3: on me, right, you know, and you can't run. It hurts,
- 12:50Speaker 3: but you know, the going out there getting hitten in
- 12:53Speaker 3: that cork again happens, all right, But then what happened after?
- 12:57Speaker 3: I take my hat off to the dock and the
- 12:59Speaker 3: physio for doing what they've done, like, you know, because.
- 13:03Speaker 4: If you're miss making that, if you missed it, it
- 13:04Speaker 4: was they said that he had to have surgery, that
- 13:07Speaker 4: he could have lost the limb.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but like if as they did yes that night, yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 3: he may not have that leg.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I mean, and probably.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Almost a blessing in the skies that it wasn't away
- 13:17Speaker 5: game so you're all in the hotel team.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Exactly, No you go home?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, And how were there to see that it
- 13:23Speaker 1: was swelling up.
- 13:24Speaker 3: That they did nothing different to what any other club
- 13:27Speaker 3: does to a cork, right, you know, that's that's happening.
- 13:30Speaker 3: That my whole career, your whole career, and it still
- 13:32Speaker 3: happens now like it was just one of those massive
- 13:35Speaker 3: freak accidents. Thankfully, Dean's okay, everyone's fine, But there's always
- 13:39Speaker 3: a chance at risk, we get a court, we play
- 13:41Speaker 3: the next week. They always say, mate, there's a chance
- 13:44Speaker 3: you can make it worse. You know, do you want
- 13:46Speaker 3: to play? It's always a player. It's always a player's
- 13:49Speaker 3: final decision. Yeah, they will give you the advice, always
- 13:52Speaker 3: your final decision if you want to go back out
- 13:54Speaker 3: or if you want to play.
- 13:55Speaker 5: I think it was Gordon tell Us this week spoke
- 13:57Speaker 5: about it, and I absolutely loved what he said. He said,
- 14:00Speaker 5: in boxing, the corner has a towel because at the
- 14:04Speaker 5: end of the day, sometimes the boxer or the player,
- 14:07Speaker 5: they need to be saved from themselves because we will.
- 14:10Speaker 5: We will continue to go out there and will continue
- 14:13Speaker 5: to play. And you know, he would have want to
- 14:15Speaker 5: have gone out there and finished the game off for
- 14:17Speaker 5: his teammates. That's that's you know, what you do as
- 14:19Speaker 5: a team player. You want to do that. But I
- 14:21Speaker 5: want to give praise to Maddie Hislop and Lukie Anning.
- 14:26Speaker 5: What a crazy year they've had so far and the
- 14:29Speaker 5: stuff they've had to deal with. We've had a clot
- 14:31Speaker 5: on the lung, We've had we've had three knee injuries,
- 14:34Speaker 5: We've had a lower limb injury with Karapani on the weekend.
- 14:39Speaker 5: What else we had, We had the Mariner incident, and
- 14:42Speaker 5: they've been on top of all of it, and there
- 14:45Speaker 5: is there's no one to blame. And that's what I
- 14:48Speaker 5: hate sometimes is we're always looking for someone to blame.
- 14:51Speaker 5: There's no one to blame. At the end of the day.
- 14:52Speaker 5: These are things that happened. That's why they're called accidents.
- 14:55Speaker 5: They just they just happened. And I think that our
- 14:59Speaker 5: physio and our doctor the Broncos have been absolutely brilliant
- 15:02Speaker 5: and making sure that our players for the first and
- 15:05Speaker 5: foremost at the forefront of their mind, and they wanted
- 15:07Speaker 5: to make sure they're safe and healthy. And they want
- 15:10Speaker 5: to make sure when they do come back and play
- 15:13Speaker 5: for the Broncos that they're doing well.
- 15:14Speaker 3: So and what don't they And also and that's another one.
- 15:17Speaker 3: They can only go off the information they're given from
- 15:19Speaker 3: the playoff. You know, how much does that hurt? You know,
- 15:22Speaker 3: we'll always go it's all right, yeah, not bad, that's
- 15:26Speaker 3: what they're working off, you know. So, yeah, they're very good.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I've known Lukey Malcreer, you know Luky, and I'll give
- 15:31Speaker 3: him credit. I wouldn't have played as many games that
- 15:34Speaker 3: I played without Luke Enning and Maddiehislop, So all right good.
- 15:39Speaker 4: We're going to be back tomorrow with the proper Podcast,
- 15:42Speaker 4: the full podcast where we'll get into all the injuries
- 15:44Speaker 4: and what we're going to do for the better round
