Transcript
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Good morning and welcome to Ag Squawk AM.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Jed Sidwell here, live from Jolied, Illinois.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Today on this fine Tuesday morning, we're going to be talking about the Nopus Oy being crushed, beef packer margins, and what's going on over there with the 10-year Treasury yield.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: We'll get to all of that and more here in a bit.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: They were down$1.93 at$79.60.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Before I quote the grain markets here live, I'd like to shout out our sponsor, plus$500.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: We use plus plus$500 T4 trading software to trade the markets every single day.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And as I look here, corn, the December contract has come back down some this morning.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It's at$5.28.5.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Soybeans, November, they're at$12.98.5 as well.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Also down as well, is what I should say.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: December wheat, that'd be Chicago, that'd be$7.13 this morning.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: As we look to our weather, we pop on this 120-hour continuation chart.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: The Northwestern Corn Belt is enduring an immediate flood risk with widespread rain already exceeding two inches in parts of Iowa and Nebraska for the next one to five day period.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: On the flip side of this, though, the winter wheat areas are kind of excited for that rain.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: The southern plains are set for highly beneficial above-normal rainfall over the next 15 days, while the northern plains transitions from mild to above normal temperatures in week two, eliminating any September freeze threat this year.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: On the grain market discussion for today, the Nopa soybean crush comes out today.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And Zachary Davis sent this out in our morning Nesvik newsletter.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And he's kind of calling for sticking with his call for a smaller than typical seasonal decline, maybe around that 214 kind of right there.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: We'll see what happens when that comes out.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And we'll make sure to report it this afternoon.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And ag squawk in the afternoon with Mr.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Davis Michelson.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: You can catch all of your updates and some pretty interesting voices and throughout the ag industry there every single weekday with Davis Michelson.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: On the livestock discussion for today, we've been talking about Packer Margins quite a bit in 2026, mostly because they were in the red for a long time.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: But recently they've been projected above the bar, above in the black there.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Packer margins have seen a turn that is legitimate.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: The week ending September 5 settled at$184.60 ahead.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: That's the best of this year.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Came back down just a little bit since then, but in the grand scheme of things, pretty dang high.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: The 10-year treasury yield rises to the highest since 2007 as Fed rate as Fed rate hike expectations rise.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: That's a hard one to get out there.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Caught my eye this morning as I was flipping through the news.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: The benchmark 10-year treasury yield climbed to its highest level since 2007 this morning as a sell-off in U.S.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: government debt deepened ahead of the Federal Reserve's internal rate decision, which could ripple throughout the economy.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm not the most well-versed when it comes to the 10-year treasury yield, but luckily here at Ag Bull, we have someone that is.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: That'd be the guy that we refer to as the Godfather.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Mr.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Tommy Grissafi is really well versed in this stuff.

- 4:07SPEAKER_00: That's what you get with the subscription.

- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And a lot of the time he's the guy that picks it up.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: So make sure and give that a ring.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Also, what you get with that today, I am going to have our Fat Tuesday show with Mike Sands to dive into the cattle world.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And if you need more Mike Sands in your life every single day, he speaks on the Nesvik Traders Morning Conference call.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: That's the information that we here at Nesvix use to trade the market and stay informed.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: And you have access to it for$25 a month or$250 annually.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: There is a plethora of things on there.
