Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? You have a choice.
- 0:12Scream or don't. Welcome to what?
- 0:15Your least favorite scary movie. The podcast where we talk about
- 0:18the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd And all of our.
- 0:20Favorite and least favorite scary movie 'cause we believe
- 0:23every horror movie rightfully has his fan base.
- 0:25Even if we don't always. Get.
- 0:26It my name is Travis. My name is Jesse and today we
- 0:29are we're we're going back to Sawville, USA.
- 0:35So we're we're talking about Jigsaw.
- 0:38Yeah. Yeah.
- 0:39Pretty exciting. I don't have any announcements,
- 0:44but we do have a poll this week. We do have a poll.
- 0:47Finally. Yeah, sorry for not having one
- 0:49for the past few weeks. So we did do one for Dude Bro
- 0:54Party Massacre 3. Yes, which we've had a couple of
- 0:57people say that this movie sounds really fun, but they've
- 0:59never seen it. Please go watch it.
- 1:01Yeah, absolutely. It's amazing.
- 1:04If you haven't listened to our episode yet, you know, do that,
- 1:07but also watch it and then listen.
- 1:09Or do in the reverse order. I don't care.
- 1:12You just got to watch that fucking.
- 1:13Movie and listen at the same time, but then also.
- 1:16Do both. Of those things separately,
- 1:17because that sounds like, honestly, like a sensory night.
- 1:20No, I feel like that's how they would want it.
- 1:23I think that's how the five second film crew would like it'd
- 1:27be approved. I think so, Yeah, I think so.
- 1:30OK, so our poll that we did do, though is which dude, bro, are
- 1:34you? Oh, Jesse's doing the slow nod.
- 1:36I mean, right. Sorry, we got to tell you, since
- 1:39this is audio only. All right, so we got four of
- 1:43them. There's a lot more Dude Bros
- 1:45than that, but these are our four main Dude Bros from the.
- 1:48Movie. Yeah.
- 1:49So you got Turbo and on Instagram 20% would believe to
- 1:55be Turbo, 20% think that they are Derek?
- 2:00Derek. 60% are Brent and nobody is Sizzler.
- 2:05I know, Poor buddy. All right.
- 2:08And so. Y'all aren't getting in.
- 2:09Let's be real. With ourselves.
- 2:10OK. Well, hey, let's go over to
- 2:12Twitter and see if things change.
- 2:13OK. Over on Twitter, 25% are Turbo,
- 2:1625% are Derek, 0% Brent, 50% Sizzler.
- 2:22Our Sizzlers are over there on Twitter.
- 2:24OK, Yeah. And we got our Brents on
- 2:26Instagram and our Sizzlers on Twitter.
- 2:28That's a good crew of people right there.
- 2:29You know, see, I want to be Turbo.
- 2:35I really, really want to be Turbo because he's my favorite
- 2:38character of that movie. But I know I can't.
- 2:42I can't handle is the thing. So I think deep down, I think
- 2:46I'm Brent because I remember that scene from when Brock is
- 2:52looking or no, he's going into Brent's God.
- 2:56It's so confusing with their names.
- 2:57Britt is going into Brock's room and then he sees all of those
- 3:00old photos of himself and stuff like that, and it reminded me of
- 3:02my little baseball. Photos, you guys, Travis is
- 3:07underselling it, 'cause it's not just that he had baseball
- 3:09photos, it's that they made little acrylic standees of his
- 3:12baseball. Statues.
- 3:13I was good at baseball. Everybody OK?
- 3:15I was good at baseball growing. Up I have a picture somewhere of
- 3:19the tiny Travis museum. I'm gonna have to see if I can
- 3:22look at that for you all. I got trophies.
- 3:24I got baseball bats. I got like like little cut outs
- 3:26of Travis all over the place. That's what my bedroom looks
- 3:29like at my parents house right now.
- 3:31And his Is it a Greenbelt? I made it up to Greenbelt.
- 3:35Yeah. I took some karate lessons, did
- 3:39not transfer. The only thing I transferred
- 3:41over is how to take like a pole and just like do the spinning
- 3:43stuff with it. Like I'm like, fuck yeah, it
- 3:46looks cool, intimidating. It doesn't kick any ass though,
- 3:51OK? Which one are you?
- 3:52So on the episode I said I was probably ZQ, but I admitted that
- 3:56I would probably also be a little bit of Sizzler.
- 3:58Yeah. So I.
- 3:59Guess you can go on with Sizzler, yeah.
- 4:01You make sense as a Sizzler and you beefed out-of-the-box
- 4:04recently. Did I?
- 4:06Yeah. OK, yeah, trust me, I was there.
- 4:09It was a quiet beef, but it it happened.
- 4:14You beefed out of it. We were all, like, very proud of
- 4:17you, but we didn't want to make you aware of it.
- 4:21OK, all right, so that's stupid. So let's get into some other
- 4:24stupid. Let's get into some Jigsaw
- 4:27stupid. OK, so Jigsaw released October
- 4:3127th, 2017. We watched it on our fork, but
- 4:34as of March 23rd you can currently stream it on NGM Plus
- 4:38Prime, YouTube Primetime, YouTube TV Premium, Sling TV
- 4:41Premium or Filo Premium, or you can rent it from Google Play or

- 4:47Home Fandango at Home Yeah Written by Josh Stolberg and
- 4:51Pete Goldfinger. Directed by Michael Spearrig and
- 4:54Peter Spearrig. Music by Charlie Klauser And
- 4:57special effects makeup, mostly. Prosthetics done by Mark Walton

- 5:07Pattinson, Miyuka Mori and Francois Dejanay.
- 5:12OK. And Francois Dejan.
- 5:16I can't wait. I can't wait for you to edit
- 5:19this. And hear how completely
- 5:21different that was than what I said.
- 5:26I'm. I'm trying my best, OK?
- 5:27I'm sorry. I'm gonna try.
- 5:28No disrespect to the name I I that was a legit attempt at it.
- 5:31This is. A Travis problem.
- 5:33That name is familiar. I feel like we've seen them.
- 5:36Yeah, in the past few songs. Yeah, OK.
- 5:38That's what I thought. Sorry.
- 5:44Francis Dejanit. I didn't even get that good at.
- 5:49It starring Tobin Bella's Jigsaw Matt Passmore is Logan Nelson,
- 5:54Callum Keith Rennie as Detective Halloran Hannah.
- 5:57Emily Anderson is Eleanor Bonville, Clay Bennett as
- 6:00Detective Keith Hunt, Laura van der Voot as Anna, Paul
- 6:06Braunstein as Ryan, and Mandala Van Peebles as Mitch.
- 6:10Van Peebles. Van Peebles.
- 6:12OK. All right, Travis, it's time for
- 6:14our favorite game budget. Or button.
- 6:21Making a strong return. I think I'm gonna go with budget
- 6:24on this one. Only by the Bears technicality.
- 6:27I mean, that's like true for any budget Saw movie.
- 6:30It's 10 million. Wow.
- 6:32OK. So yeah.
- 6:33Yeah, so opening box office once again, US and Canada of 16.6
- 6:37million and a worldwide gross IMDb says 102.9 million,
- 6:41Wikipedia says 104.2 million. So.
- 6:44Like a big difference there. That's a pretty good return.
- 6:47Yeah. It's not as big as like the
- 6:49heyday I saw, I don't think, but you know, it's still pretty
- 6:51good. IMDb score of 5.7 out of 10
- 6:56That's fair. Which honestly, 'cause I know a
- 7:00lot of people don't like this one and I don't.
- 7:05I'm not as I'm surprised that the score is what it is, 'cause
- 7:10I thought it would be lower the way people talk about it online.
- 7:12I don't know. Do people really talk about this
- 7:16one like that? Yeah, really.
- 7:18Yeah, OK. Yeah, my my theme this week.
- 7:21It's not super creative, but it was unavoidable.
- 7:25There were so many sequels in 2017, so I did sequels.
- 7:29OK, sure, that's those are always fun.
- 7:31Still, the first one is Annabelle Creation, which came
- 7:35out August 11th, 2017. A budget of 15,000,000, A
- 7:40worldwide gross hub 306.5 million.
- 7:44What the fuck? Yes, those movies rake it in.
- 7:46They really do. They're cheap to make, and
- 7:48they're just popular for some. Yeah, even.
- 7:50It's like they're popular even amongst people that aren't like
- 7:53horror fans. Like it's a much more accessible
- 7:55franchise. Well.
- 7:56Everybody knows Annabelle. I feel like any time like like
- 7:59people are like, yeah, creepy doll like Annabelle.
- 8:01Yeah, really people. That's that's one that people
- 8:03just like get. Yeah, that has an INDB score of
- 8:066.5 out of 10. Wow.
- 8:08I have heard that's an actual, really good movie.
- 8:11I honestly, I know we saw Annabelle, but I completely
- 8:14forgot about that until you reminded me.
- 8:17Yeah. That that franchise just
- 8:18doesn't. Yeah, I mean.
- 8:20To get my brain at all. We saw the first one.
- 8:22We haven't seen this one. Yeah, yeah.
- 8:23And there's like 3. Or 4 animals now.
- 8:25I think there are three. Yeah.
- 8:27I think this one was directed by the dude that did the Lights Out
- 8:30movie. Good for him.
- 8:33OK, second one, we actually saw this in theater.
- 8:36We saw this in theater. So for our first wedding
- 8:39anniversary, we went to Myrtle Beach and it rained the entire
- 8:42week, which if you know anything about Myrtle Beach, the only
- 8:45things to do are outside. So we went to the movies and
- 8:52drank at a lot of bars most of that week.
- 8:55So. That's still a good time, but
- 8:56not exactly what you go to Myrtle Beach for.
- 8:58Yes, exactly. So we saw Alien Covenant.
- 9:01Yeah, I knew. Yep.
- 9:02Yep. That's a good time.
- 9:04I like that movie. I think a lot of people shit on
- 9:06that one too. Actually, and that's what I
- 9:08remembered, but I was kind of surprised by the IMDb score.
- 9:11Probably low for an Alien film, but it was high for what we
- 9:16normally get for this show. OK, 6:00-ish.
- 9:19Six point. Four.
- 9:21Wow, that is high. Wait, and you think that's high?
- 9:24Wait until you hear the budget. So this released first of all
- 9:27May 19th 2017 budget of 97,000,000.
- 9:32Holy shit 'cause it's alien. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of
- 9:36effects. That's a very effects heavy
- 9:38series. Worldwide gross of 240.8
- 9:41million. OK, so we did things a little
- 9:43bit out of order, but makes sense in the context of talking
- 9:46about it. That one has Danny Pride in it
- 9:48too. Yeah, yeah, That's.
- 9:50Tennessee, I think, is his name, Yeah.
- 9:53I remember being excited because it was Dana McBride and RIP in
- 9:56Tennessee. So, all right, third movie
- 9:59rings. Oh, that one was weird.
- 10:03I mean, we haven't seen it, but like, the whole story behind
- 10:05that one is weird. That released February 3rd,
- 10:082017, so already kind of rough for it, you know A February
- 10:13release? Yeah, a budget of 25,000,000,
- 10:17worldwide gross of 83,000,000. So it still hits like times
- 10:21three more. That's.
- 10:21Better than I expected. IMDb score of 4.5.
- 10:26Four. Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 10:28I've not heard anything good about it.
- 10:30So. I haven't heard anything good
- 10:32about any Ring sequel, and I kind of watched the second ring
- 10:36on Pluto one day for a little bit.
- 10:38It was weird. It was not that good.
- 10:40Like, I didn't watch all of it. But what I did see, I was like,
- 10:42Oh yeah, I could see why the sequels to this movie are just
- 10:45not that great. Yeah, like, I don't know.
- 10:47The little kid was just as weird as always, and the mom was just
- 10:51as disconnected. As always.
- 10:54Yeah, I don't know. The concept for that whole thing
- 10:57is so good. I feel like it's like it's hard
- 11:00to fuck it up, but they fucked it up.
- 11:02Honestly, I love the Scary Movie 3 version of it where she's like
- 11:06she just keeps forgetting in places.
- 11:08There's a whole movie of her fighting the Grudge people, I
- 11:11think. Really.
- 11:12Yeah, I think so. I think it's either The Grudge
- 11:14People or another type of ghost movie, but it's like Sudeko
- 11:16versus something. Yeah, OK, they get weird.
- 11:21I have to sneeze. OK.
- 11:25That is not coming out. OK, you got it.
- 11:29No, I'm just gonna keep going until it happens.
- 11:34I have a lot of tag lines. I can hear in your voice that
- 11:41you're about to do it. It hurts.
- 11:46Come on, power through. You got this.
- 11:48I have a lot of tag lines. OK, cool.
- 11:51Are you worthy? I'm expecting order them to be
- 11:56at you. And like, this is not even meant
- 12:01to be a real, but like an executive, it's like that one.
- 12:03Put it on the poster with the smeared makeup face at you.
- 12:07He sneezed off, his makeup off. A new game begins.
- 12:14Don't care. Make America Bleed again.
- 12:18Seriously. Yeah, I I need my saw to stay
- 12:22away from that this. Is.
- 12:23Why the fuck would you even do that?
- 12:25Yeah, like, I don't need to hear that shit there.
- 12:27This isn't purge. I was gonna say the one movie
- 12:31series where it's acceptable is The Purge, where they're like
- 12:33straight up tackling that shit. Let's see.
- 12:38Become jigsaw. OK, OK, if you insist.
- 12:43His legacy becomes yours, which I'm pretty sure is a Direct Line
- 12:48from the end of five. Why are they trying to force
- 12:51Jigsaw's legacy and persona on us?
- 12:54We did not ask for that. We just want to see somebody
- 12:57else do it. We wanted Kosis.
- 13:00Let the games begin. OK, of course that's like every
- 13:04Saw movie stag line. These next three, I need you to
- 13:08understand that they are three separate ones, OK?
- 13:12So they make sense together, but they're actually three separate
- 13:14things. You're gonna think I'm saying a
- 13:16continuation of the same tagline, but they are three
- 13:20separate taglines. OK, let's start it.
- 13:22He's everywhere. Is that it?
- 13:25He's everyone. That's.
- 13:28He's everything. Uh, huh.
- 13:30He's Sean Crane. He's just Ken.
- 13:35Is that really it? Those. 3 Yep, Wow.
- 13:37And then, finally, the tradition continues.
- 13:41The tradition. The tradition.
- 13:43What's the tradition? The tradition.
- 13:45The tradition. The tradition.
- 13:47There you go. The one tradition that they talk
- 13:50about in all of the movies. Yeah.
- 13:51OK, Yeah, tradition. The tradition.
- 13:53The tradition, Yeah, yeah, they need to call it jigsaw.
- 13:56The tradition. OK, so fun.
- 14:01Fact. So Josh and Pete actually really
- 14:04wanted to work on the Saw franchise for years.
- 14:07Like they were really, like hoping for an opportunity to get
- 14:10in there somewhere. So in 2013, when Lionsgate
- 14:13announced that they were gonna start thinking about sequel
- 14:16ideas, they were like pitching ideas.
- 14:18They met with Berg and Cools, the the Twisted Pictures
- 14:24producers, and they pitched their idea, and those two really
- 14:27liked it because it had an element from a script that
- 14:30they'd never heard before. And their Josh and Pete's idea
- 14:34was that the survivors of the game, like, you know, they go
- 14:37through, they get out, they're done, whatever, they leave their
- 14:40room and they were actually on an oil Derrick in the middle of
- 14:45the ocean. So they get out and they're
- 14:47still trapped. Why did we not get that thing?
- 14:50Because Lionsgate said no. They didn't want to fund that.
- 14:55Nope. They didn't want to do it.
- 14:56They didn't want to do it. So they had, they had Josh and
- 14:59Pete come up with multiple other pitches and they ended up
- 15:03settling on something that was a time shift, which has been done
- 15:06in multiple Saw movies, but this one being done a little bit
- 15:09differently. I mean, it sounds like it could
- 15:13have been cool, but also at the same time, I'm like, that could
- 15:15have been really lame too. Yeah, and it sounds like they
- 15:19really wanted to do a lot of different things with the
- 15:21franchise. Like they were excited to play
- 15:23around with different ideas, because they also wanted a game
- 15:25to take place completely outdoors.
- 15:27So that was their first script. Once their general storyline was
- 15:34greenlit, took place all outdoors, but they couldn't make
- 15:37it quite work, so they had to go with the barn instead.
- 15:40That sucks. That actually.
- 15:41You know, I've never even thought of it.
- 15:43But yeah, like, outdoors would be cool.
- 15:45I I would. Love to see that, yeah.
- 15:47And I I would like to see like kind of kind of gives me like
- 15:50the hunt vibes. Yeah, I mean, you kind of get
- 15:52that in the opening right, with Edgar because like, his game is
- 15:54kind of going on outside. Yeah, I mean, if you think about
- 15:58the first saw Zeds and the the doctor's house, like he's
- 16:03operating in the free world, basically. 4.
- 16:06Rig, yeah. Yeah, he is running around
- 16:08Sawville. So it's not a thing that can't
- 16:10necessarily be done. But yeah, they were trying to
- 16:12think of a way to do it where it was less claustrophobic than
- 16:15other films I like. To see like, out in the woods,
- 16:17you know what I mean? I feel like that would be,
- 16:18really. Cool.
- 16:19Yeah. And I don't know if my brain is
- 16:20just going there because, you know, we spend so much of the
- 16:22movie in the barn in the middle of the woods that my brain's
- 16:25like woods. So I feel.
- 16:26Like that's probably we had compromise on their part like OK
- 16:28it's it was in the voice but it was put it in a barn that way
- 16:30still has that like feel to it. So like I said, pre production
- 16:35began in 2013. Principal photography didn't
- 16:37begin until October 2016 and went from October to November.
- 16:42Damn, it's been a long time working on.
- 16:44That Yeah is in Toronto and its working title was Saw Legacy,
- 16:49which we saw in the special features.
- 16:51We were watching from the props room where he was referring to
- 16:54it as Saw Legacy. That's why, Speaking of the
- 16:57props, it was actually kind of interesting because they had
- 17:01decided that 3D or the Final Chapter, whatever, it was going
- 17:04to be the final Saw movie. So they sold most of their props
- 17:08so they had to recreate them. They luckily were able to get
- 17:12the original props master to come in and assist with several
- 17:15of them, but like he was talking about the pig mask, they could
- 17:18only find like 2 that they had to get shipped in from Taiwan
- 17:21and they didn't even have the hair.
- 17:22So like, they had to put a lot of work into recreating that,
- 17:25especially since Eleanor has her whole studio with like all the.
- 17:29Other stuff. See that's.
- 17:32When we saw. That I was like, well, I guess
- 17:33that makes sense. We just go to the proper and
- 17:35pull them all out and then he's like, Nope, we didn't have any
- 17:37of them. No, I see.
- 17:38I've never even really thought of that because I guess maybe it
- 17:43comes from me being a Halloween guy, because they never have the
- 17:47same mask. It's always different shit every
- 17:49single movie. I I've just always assumed that
- 17:51they make new stuff each production.
- 17:53Yeah. So that's, I thought that was
- 17:56interesting. Oh, and also something that I
- 17:57never thought of before, but the reason they did buckets in the
- 18:00beginning is because they're on the pig farm and those are
- 18:03feeding buckets I. Never knew that.
- 18:05Yeah, I. Thought it was just a cool
- 18:06design. Choice.
- 18:07I did too. Yeah, like it makes sense.
- 18:09But I when you get the little details like that, it just makes
- 18:12it like you appreciate it just that much more.
- 18:15And I will say this because this is probably, I'm going to say
- 18:18this feels like the most implausible in terms of traps on
- 18:22its face. But when we were watching it
- 18:25last night, I was trying to make everything make sense and I
- 18:27found a way to make it all make sense.
- 18:28And the props masters, when they were putting this stuff
- 18:31together, they actually made these things like functional,
- 18:33like he was talking about the bucket, like had to get unlocked
- 18:36a certain way to come off the head.
- 18:38He demonstrated. Yeah, like he's like, here's the
- 18:40light turns on and then it actually hooks from this right
- 18:42here. Can you imagine if it, like,
- 18:43actually got stuck on a set he's like?
- 18:46Oh God. Just like, yeah, this is OK
- 18:48enough to wear for about an hour or so, but then it becomes
- 18:50really uncomfortable. Yeah, I could see that.
- 18:52I can only imagine a whole day of filming it, especially the
- 18:55guy that's getting dragged along the floor.
- 18:57Yeah, but they're like the scene is not very long, but I guess
- 19:01like, you know, something like that, you'd still have to shoot
- 19:03a shit ton of it. And then I have one final fun
- 19:05fact. Yeah.
- 19:07That I didn't do any further investigation into.
- 19:10I just kind of want to wildly speculate what happened behind
- 19:13the scenes. So this is purely speculation.
- 19:16No, the fact I'm gonna say is very simple, but I want us to
- 19:19speculate how this came happened.
- 19:20OK. The film was edited by Kevin
- 19:25Greeter. Kevin Greeter Mm hmm.
- 19:29The guy that was so pissed I had to come back.
- 19:31Yeah. And he that's how we got to
- 19:33start. I was edit, OK, what the fuck?
- 19:36So they're like demoted now you have to edit these films again.
- 19:39I don't think that he even put in a bid to direct again.
- 19:44Direct shits so. Let me look him up real quick.
- 19:46I'm kind of. Curious.
- 19:47He did socks. Did he?
- 19:50Pretty sure. Wait, I think you're right.
- 19:52Yeah, Kevin. Sure about that.
- 19:54That's why. Sure, about that.
- 19:57Yeah. So, I don't know.
- 19:59Yeah. He did saw and.
- 20:00I mean, he's been involved in every single Saw movie, so I
- 20:03wonder if it was like a for him thing, like he wanted his.
- 20:06It's his Saw legacy. He's got enough.
- 20:08Yeah, I think you could be right.
- 20:10Yeah, but like, he's got like a decent little filmography here
- 20:13of, like being an editor. He edited The Strangers.
- 20:18The Collector. God damn dude.
- 20:21Yeah, I mean, I like this guy's work.
- 20:23I know some people are nervous about.
- 20:26I saw this great discussion on Dreaded where people were
- 20:28nervous about him coming back for Saw 11 because they're like
- 20:31he did great on Saw Six, but then Saw Seven was a flop.
- 20:34Saw X was great. What's gonna happen was Saw 11.
- 20:37And a lot of people are like, you know, he fucking hated
- 20:39everything about Saw 3D, as did everybody else.
- 20:43Yeah, he was like. That was not a labor of love for
- 20:46anyone. So last minute attached to that,
- 20:49yeah, I don't. I think you can give him a pass
- 20:51on that one. He has been really solid for the
- 20:53franchise. Yeah.
- 20:54And if you guys wanna learn more about that back story, just go
- 20:56listen to our Saw 3D episode. Even if you hate the movie, if
- 21:00you're like, I'm skipping this song because I hate the movie,
- 21:01Yeah, Go and listen to it. Because I think we had some good
- 21:04discussion about it. Yeah.
- 21:05Definitely. All right, Travis.
- 21:07Yeah. Now it's time for a good, bad,
- 21:09ugly and absurd. And I'm.
- 21:11I'm excited about this because I've got some good ones in mind.
- 21:14OK, so one of the things that I really enjoyed about this one is
- 21:19like, I feel like it has like a brand new look to it.
- 21:22It looks a lot more clean and it looks well polished this time
- 21:26around. And I know a lot of the old Saw
- 21:29movies are supposed to be grimy and they're, you know, nasty
- 21:33looking all the time. Sawville, you know, maybe there
- 21:36was just a little bit of gentrification.
- 21:39In the past. 10 years. Yeah, you got to have also
- 21:42recognized that there's been 10 years of like difference here,
- 21:45so things are a little bit more doable, like you got
- 21:49technological advances and film and stuff like that.
- 21:53But no, it it looks awesome. I think that the gore levels in
- 21:57this movie are pretty solid. Yeah.
- 21:59Like, the effects look great whenever we see the bucket head
- 22:02person chopped in half. Oh my God.
- 22:04So. I was thinking about that.
- 22:06And that's one of those things, because obviously we also love
- 22:08the joyride series and Rusty's whole thing is pulling off jaws
- 22:12and you don't ever get a strong shot at it.
- 22:15So it was nice to just, like, plopped there on the table for a
- 22:18whole scene of dialogue and like, you're just looking at
- 22:21someone's jaw. It's pretty gnarly, and not only
- 22:24that, but like other shit that goes down later too, yeah?
- 22:26Like the the hydrofluoric acid face.
- 22:29That whenever the dude gets his leg ripped off by the wires,
- 22:33it's pretty gnarly to watch. Yeah, there's a lot of good
- 22:36tense scenes too. Like that whole scene of him
- 22:38trying to do that, Like reach for the lever while they're
- 22:41being trapped in the silo. You gotta feel like you.
- 22:45Like on the one hand, you're screaming at him.
- 22:47You're like, you need to do this to save those other two people.
- 22:50You can't let them die because of you.
- 22:52But on the other hand, I get it. Yeah, there's like that
- 22:54psychological block there, Like this is going to fucking hurt
- 22:57me. It's already hurting me.
- 22:59If they wanted to treat him like he treated Carly, they could
- 23:02have just pulled the lever for him.
- 23:03Well, they were trapped in the silo.
- 23:05Well, I mean, they weren't beforehand.
- 23:08Was the was the lever there then?
- 23:10Yeah. OK, I think so.
- 23:11I don't remember. Pretty sure it was.
- 23:13I don't think he knew that he had to pull the lever.
- 23:15To get free? Probably not, but.
- 23:17Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:18So, yeah, I mean, there's just like a lot of like good stuff
- 23:20with it here. Like, I I generally have a
- 23:24pretty good time watching this movie.
- 23:26It's pretty well put together. I, you know, I like it
- 23:28especially, but the like, I feel like they're going for like a
- 23:31soft reboot type thing here. Like, they're continuing the
- 23:34story, but they also want to like kind of have like a reset.
- 23:37And that's definitely how it was referred to was like that.
- 23:40It's a reboot of the franchise, so.
- 23:42Yeah, you can tell. Yeah.
- 23:43Yeah, like they want like a fresh break.
- 23:46And that's why, like you, the only returning character you
- 23:48have from the entire thing is John, like everybody else is
- 23:52brand new here. So yeah, that's pretty much it
- 23:54for my good stuff. My good the The Stolberg
- 23:59Goldfinger writing duo is like their S tier in this household.
- 24:05We, yeah, we we like like generally all of their stuff.
- 24:07Yes. Yeah, they have a great love for
- 24:10horror and gore and gross shit, but they also have a really good
- 24:13sense of humor about it. And you can kind of feel that
- 24:16playfulness in this movie. Now.
- 24:18We said, I don't remember if it was the last movie or the movie
- 24:21before that, maybe even the movie before that, where these
- 24:23start getting more and more outlandish and less grounded.
- 24:27And I said fucking do it. You know, send Roman and Tej
- 24:30into space. Yeah, yeah, I am OK with it.
- 24:33I'm on board with this franchise to get as wild as it was, and
- 24:37I'm OK with all of the leaps and logic in this movie.
- 24:41And you can. Kind of like I was able to make
- 24:44it work while watching it this time.
- 24:46So I can't wave it away kind of like make like your own little
- 24:48connections, like, OK, that makes sense.
- 24:50Yes. So like, OK, this movie here is
- 24:53like a prequel, right? Like this is before the very
- 24:56first game in Saw one. So the game we're watching play,
- 25:00yes, that is before the very first one.
- 25:03However, the actual like maybe part with Logan and everything.
- 25:06That's all going on years. Later.
- 25:08Yeah, I knew that much. I'm talking about, yeah, the
- 25:10game part. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.
- 25:11So I think because there's a part of me that's like, well,
- 25:14how does the saw Blake know when there's blood on it?
- 25:17Like and then at the end when they've got the shotgun, he's
- 25:21like, I'll be listening. And I was like, oh shit, he's
- 25:23just been chilling in there the whole time.
- 25:24He's been like manually releasing stuff.
- 25:26That's why when the needles go in, he just releases their shot.
- 25:29It's not like the the needles have any like magic thing in
- 25:32them to let the shackles know to be released as if John was
- 25:35there, he was present and we've known that.
- 25:37He likes watching the games play out.
- 25:39It was Costas that likes to set a timer and run around and do
- 25:41other stuff anyway. I think he only did that when he
- 25:43was like he had like the fuzz on his shit, you know what I mean?
- 25:46Like otherwise he had that little hole when he was
- 25:49watching. Yeah, so I was like, I finally
- 25:53made that connection last night. I was like that makes so much of
- 25:55this makes sense, cuz otherwise it seems a little bit more like
- 25:57a fantasy land like. A little cut.
- 26:00Will make the. Door magically open now, dummy.
- 26:03He's just watching the whole time.
- 26:04Just me calling myself a dummy. Although if it applies to you,
- 26:06please feel free to take that title for yourself as well.
- 26:09Yeah, like it's just one of those things.
- 26:11Plus, this movie will also be the movie that we convinced my
- 26:13brother-in-law to go watch a horror movie in theaters.
- 26:16Him and my older sister were not married yet, but my mom came up
- 26:19to watch this with us and he agreed to come to the theater
- 26:21with us. And he sent the entire the
- 26:23entire movie curled up in a ball in his chair, going I.
- 26:28Wonder if he was like, it's a horror movie, but it's not Saw,
- 26:31it's Jigsaw. So this is like a different
- 26:33thing. No, I'm.
- 26:34I'm pretty sure he told Morgan. He was not looking forward to it
- 26:37at all, but he was going because he loves her and he wanted to
- 26:40like get along with her family. It was nice.
- 26:42Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:43No, I I mean, obviously I love him.
- 26:45He's a good. He's a.
- 26:46He's a good egg. He's a.
- 26:48Good part of the family, so and he he kind of got out of his
- 26:51obligation of going and watching horror movies pretty early on.
- 26:55Yeah. I mean, it's not an obligation
- 26:56with us, but it's highly encouraged, yeah.
- 26:58Yeah. OK.
- 27:00Is that all you feel? Good?
- 27:01Yes, yeah, that. Those are the main things.
- 27:04Like, it's just the overall vibe of it.
- 27:06Plus, it's just so glad to have saw back, you know?
- 27:08I'm never going to be mad when they reboot it.
- 27:10No, I'm not either. I'm no like, I'm one of those
- 27:13people. Like, if there's a franchise
- 27:15that I love, keep going. I don't.
- 27:17Give a Yeah you've you've openly said that you will watch the
- 27:20Halloween 78 or whatever like. I'll I'll watch them all.
- 27:23Wait, what do you mean Halloween 78?
- 27:25Like 78 sequels. I realized when I said 78 that
- 27:28that's. The Yeah, I was like, yeah, of
- 27:30course I'm going to watch that movie.
- 27:31That movie is like, amazing. No, I just went with like a
- 27:33really high number. And yes, subconsciously, that's
- 27:37the one memory. Came up.
- 27:38Yeah, I'll. I'll watch them all.
- 27:39Same with Fast and Furious. Same with Saw.
- 27:41You know, just anything. Yeah, I love it.
- 27:43Yeah. OK, So bad stuff.
- 27:47I don't necessarily think our new batch of characters are that
- 27:50interesting, if I am being honest with myself and everybody
- 27:54here. Doctor Logan don't really care
- 27:57for him, and he's supposed to be he's.
- 27:59Doctor Nelson? Really.
- 28:00Whatever, His name is Logan, and he's a doctor.
- 28:03Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, and he is not like he's
- 28:07supposed to be the new Jigsaw. And I just don't really find him
- 28:10interesting as a character or as a jigsaw, like if he's going to
- 28:14be the guy that we were supposed to be following after this.
- 28:17I'm not on board with that. It's just it's flat for me.
- 28:21I wish they would have set up Eleanor as the as The Apprentice
- 28:26or whatever. It made so much sense.
- 28:28Yeah, and I get that it it made so much sense.
- 28:30It's too obvious. But.
- 28:31No, just go with it, man. I don't care if it's that
- 28:34obvious. Like, she doesn't have to, like,
- 28:37be super good at covering it up. She's just a fucking jigsaw.
- 28:40Look at Costa. Yeah, exactly.
- 28:43Like they found him out pretty fucking fast.
- 28:45And he was very obvious about stuff like he was.
- 28:48He made it pretty clear to people that he was jigsaw.
- 28:50Like he wanted to flaunt it, but he didn't want people to.
- 28:53Like, actually he want to say it.
- 28:55He wanted people to find out himself.
- 28:56Wow, Jigsaw. He's really talented, amazing.
- 28:58And he kills all these terrible people.
- 29:00Wow. It looks like it's almost like
- 29:01he's like, really good at like vigilante justice like Batman.
- 29:04I don't want to say he's Batman, but you know.
- 29:06But I will say he's got some big sexy lips like Kosis.
- 29:12You should talking about yourself here, like you know.
- 29:15I've got big. Sexy lips.
- 29:19Thank. You you think I could be jigsaw?
- 29:22You think I could be Batman? You think you do?
- 29:23Yeah, my parents. And sister are dead.
- 29:28OK, weird. Donnie, I'm sure you guys were
- 29:34worried that when we left the Costas era that we would stop
- 29:37talking about Costas, but don't worry.
- 29:40Hey, is the Costas era done? I'm not.
- 29:43Really not. Clear.
- 29:44I'm not revealing anything is Ghost is going to come back in
- 29:47any of these future movies. If you've not seen them, I'm not
- 29:49telling you. If you have seen them, you know
- 29:51the answer. Yeah.
- 29:54I mean, like, that's it for the bad.
- 29:56Like, I don't know. Like, I just don't necessarily
- 29:58feel like it was put in a good position to keep going if we
- 30:04were to be following this cast of people.
- 30:05I like Eleanor, but like, I don't know, I she was just, if
- 30:10she wasn't gonna be jigsaw. I just didn't really care as
- 30:12much. You know what I mean?
- 30:13Yeah, my problem with this movie is John and Logan's
- 30:19relationship, because Logan says John decided somebody shouldn't
- 30:24die for an honest mistake and I call.
- 30:27Bullshit. Yeah, I know.
- 30:30This is early. It doesn't even matter.
- 30:33He'd already decided to start killing people at this point.
- 30:36That's true. He.
- 30:36Did, yeah. Depressions.
- 30:39Not an honest mistake. It's a moral feeling.
- 30:41But fucking up at your job? Oh, it's okay.
- 30:44It doesn't matter. It's going to kill me.
- 30:45I feel like they're trying to do, like, revisionist history
- 30:47right here. Like, no, I never said that.
- 30:49I love people. I never want to hurt people.
- 30:52Well, and then, like, at the end, when it shows flashbacks of
- 30:54them working together to set up other traps, he's like, we're
- 30:59not punishing people. We're helping them see the air
- 31:01of the way. And we're trying to, you know,
- 31:03get some, some retribution for the dead.
- 31:06We speak for the dead now. And John's like, yeah, we don't
- 31:09act out of anger. We act out of like, revenge for
- 31:13the dead or whatever. You taught me that.
- 31:15That was. So that dialogue I was like,
- 31:17what the? The fuck is this?
- 31:18Yeah. Like the guy, like looked over,
- 31:21like he was crying and he looked at John's like, what the fuck?
- 31:24It blew my mind. That's the that's.
- 31:27What kind of like falls there for me?
- 31:30I like. I wish it had been something
- 31:32like he begged for mercy or something for Jigsaw, like did
- 31:38something to prove his worthiness to be an apprentice
- 31:41other than just like, oh, it's an honest mistake, you know?
- 31:45It just, it doesn't line up with anything that's gone on in the
- 31:49past. It's just, yeah, it's so.
- 31:50Bored. And I mean, there's a lot that
- 31:52we can say about it. Like, I think the like the way
- 31:55the tapes are, the clues are so much more obvious.
- 31:58There's almost like no clue to it, basically.
- 32:01And I think that makes sense from a timeline standpoint.
- 32:03If this is one of his first games, it makes sense that he is
- 32:06not gonna be as sneaky with how he's telling people what to do.
- 32:11I guess. 'Cause like at the beginning,
- 32:12where he's like an offering of blood any amount.
- 32:16Oh. He's he's being kind of clear
- 32:18about. Things.
- 32:19Like, what's a life worth to you?
- 32:21And it's pretty clear, like what that means, like those clues or
- 32:24key to your salvation is right here, like all of those things.
- 32:28That one is tough. That 1A.
- 32:29Little bit. That one is tough.
- 32:31You don't know that until like you see afterwards.
- 32:34Like if anybody called that whenever that happened, well,
- 32:37one, your condition because you've seen them shit ton saw
- 32:39movies already. But two, I'm calling them
- 32:42bullshit. But my point is that like the
- 32:44way the the tapes are written, you can easily be like, well
- 32:48this is because it's an earlier game and I actually think that's
- 32:51smart to do it that way. But yeah, just the whole mentor
- 32:55mentee talk at the end is just that's the one thing I can't
- 32:59make fit in my head the right way.
- 33:01I. Thought it was kind of bullshit
- 33:02how he was able to piece together like past clips of
- 33:06John, like his tape recordings, and it all sounded natural.
- 33:11Like, not disjointed, like it sounded like, And a shot of him
- 33:15doing it on his computer. He's just like, smiling.
- 33:17It's just like, what the fuck is this like?
- 33:19It just. Looks so weird.
- 33:20Frustrated because he can't get rid of like a tiny little audio
- 33:23blip. Like he keeps deleting too much
- 33:25and not enough. Like hello.
- 33:27We do this every week. Like we know how frustrating it
- 33:30is to edit. It's not.
- 33:32Yeah. It would be like, OK, I get it.
- 33:35You wanted to see him like, oh, it's all seamless.
- 33:38This is like, is this the beginning, like the very, like
- 33:40the 110 years ago? Or is this the one that's going
- 33:42on today? But I feel like it would be kind
- 33:44of cool and unsettling to have, like, the weird jankiness of,
- 33:49like, taking different clips from his previous tapes where
- 33:52he's having, like, different inflections that don't match the
- 33:55previous word. Yeah, and like, it comes across
- 33:58as like, you know, weird and not natural.
- 34:01Like, it could really give you, like, an unsettling feeling.
- 34:04I'm just saying, you guys know that I watch a lot of reality
- 34:06TV. You can pick a part when a
- 34:09talking head has been edited to hell and back.
- 34:12I. Can now.
- 34:13But I think it's because I've been doing this like back in the
- 34:15day. Like, I never really understood
- 34:17it, but now I can. Frankenstein Shit.
- 34:19That's what they call it on there.
- 34:20Like Frankensteining dialogue. Because yeah, you can do that.
- 34:25All right. All right, ugly.
- 34:27Ugly. Ugly.
- 34:30I I don't know like what is ugly about this movie.
- 34:34Police corruption. Baby murdering, spousal framing.
- 34:38That whole thing was really bad. That whole, like hers was the
- 34:41darkest, where she just like straight up strangled her baby
- 34:44and then framed her husband. Cold about it too.
- 34:48Shoes. OK, so today we took the cats to
- 34:49the vet and they're both like Scout's pissed off.
- 34:53Zoe is like so terrified she's almost retreated within herself
- 34:57like so Scout while we're in the waiting room.
- 35:01The whole time it's just going. They come and take Zoe, and as
- 35:05soon as Zoe's gone, Scout lays down.
- 35:08She loves herself. She starts purring a little bit.
- 35:10And I was like, damn, that is. Cold.
- 35:13You're willing to just throw? Zoe under the bus so you don't
- 35:16have to go. Back to the vet's office.
- 35:18That's Anna. Yeah.
- 35:20That's Anna. Pretty much, yeah.
- 35:23A little bit different, but. Not that different.
- 35:26Not that different, no. But yeah, that's probably the
- 35:28darkest thing. Like, I feel like the police
- 35:31would be suspicious too, because the look that she was giving him
- 35:34when he was being arrested, like it wasn't even she wasn't even
- 35:36sad that her kid died or that her husband did that.
- 35:39Like, you know, she's just like stone faced like, yeah, guess
- 35:42I'll have to go buy another baby.
- 35:46Where's the baby store again? Yeah.
- 35:47The story What's your ugly? My ugly.
- 35:51I mean, I I was naming a lot of them.
- 35:53Oh, OK, Yeah, yeah, there was all of that also.
- 35:56OK, so we'll talk about Elenar a little bit, this weird shrine
- 36:01she has to a serial killer. Yeah.
- 36:04Because here's the thing. We like true crime.
- 36:07And we've talked before that there's a very thin line to
- 36:09cross between, like being interested in true crime versus
- 36:12like idolizing serial killers or exploiting victims.
- 36:18And she's definitely, she's crossed that line by, like,
- 36:22leaps and bounds, you know? She would be if he was alive and
- 36:26in jail. She would be like the girls that
- 36:28are in love with the Columbine shooters, where they send them
- 36:30like love letters and shit. Yeah, she'd be one of those
- 36:33people that just like. Like Ted Bundy or like she would
- 36:36definitely have like a jigsaw podcast, The Saw cast.
- 36:41Hey, man, we're talking all kinds about Jigsaw here.
- 36:44But it's not real. Yeah, it's not real.
- 36:47I don't have a problem with covering shit like that, but
- 36:49like to the point where you're you.
- 36:51Have to do it respect. She has like, an infatuation
- 36:54with the entire thing. She is so, like, she's like
- 36:57doing all the traps herself. Like, that's an unhealthy
- 37:00obsession with that. And I think a lot of the things
- 37:03that it comes down to, too, is when we listen to that stuff and
- 37:07when we talk about it with each other, we both come at it from a
- 37:09very like, victim first perspective.
- 37:13Because you're like, oh man, it's so fucked up that this
- 37:14happened to this person. And sort of like, Oh my God, did
- 37:17you hear about this killer who's doing this and this and this and
- 37:19this? But it's like, but what about
- 37:21the people that it's happening to?
- 37:23And we're also like, not profiting off of it, or just
- 37:25being, like, weirdly building replicas of murder machines.
- 37:31Yeah, yeah. It's just a whole other level.
- 37:33Of there's like a whole like line of what is the line and
- 37:37where does it become, you know, a problem and unethical and she?
- 37:42Crossed it. She crossed it a while back.
- 37:45She has a website, calledjigsawrules.com.
- 37:48Like, what the fuck is that? That's the only name.
- 37:50First of all, doesn't. Have the website.
- 37:51She's just an active participant.
- 37:53I have a feeling, however, she does rent an entire building.
- 37:58Just for this, yeah. Just for this, yeah.
- 38:01How the fuck does she afford that?
- 38:02I don't know what I have to imagine.
- 38:05This two person mortician team in Sawville has to stay pretty
- 38:10fucking busy. Sawville has like a shit ton of
- 38:12vacant buildings that are primed for this type of shit.
- 38:15That's so true and. Like nobody lives in Sawville.
- 38:18It's just like empty buildings. It's kind of like in sauce sauce
- 38:22Scream Sticks, where they have like that whole empty movie
- 38:26theater for the Shrine of Ghost Faces.
- 38:29Pets. I mean that.
- 38:31But that at. Least they do talk about the
- 38:33money aspect of it, everything at least a little bit.
- 38:35They kind of hand wave it away, but they do.
- 38:37They really, they hand wave a lot of shit away in that movie.
- 38:40I don't care. It's so fun.
- 38:41Same with this right here. I don't give a shit.
- 38:42Yeah, like. You know, it's still fun.
- 38:45All right. What's your absurd?
- 38:46Thank you for fixing that. I've been staring at it for the
- 38:49past half hour. There's my little Legos of
- 38:53Captain Spaulding and me that Jesse got me of me being
- 38:56Michael. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:58And Loomis is shooting. Us Loomis is shooting you.
- 39:00Know us? Oh yeah, you're not alone
- 39:03anymore. Right.
- 39:05I think, OK, one of the absurd things about this movie is like,
- 39:07this is supposed to be his very first one, right?
- 39:09Very like before the games that we get in the 1st movies.
- 39:13This shit's so complex for a trial run, if that's what it's
- 39:17supposed to be. So I kind of went back and forth
- 39:20with it because I was like, yeah, back in the good old days,
- 39:24we just had like a simple razor wire.
- 39:26Bear trap one person at a time. He's not like orchestrating
- 39:30these massive like 5 people trap machines.
- 39:33But then I was thinking about it and he's an engineer and he's
- 39:37got his ex wife's pig farm that's been decommissioned and
- 39:40nobody's been in and maybe just a little bit of engineering fun.
- 39:43He's going around and building contraptions and.
- 39:47Where does he get the supplies for this gigantic fucking
- 39:50machine that's operated by a motorcycle?
- 39:53Where does he get the supplies for any of his shit?
- 39:56Yeah, I mean, that's a valid question, but I think this one,
- 39:59especially this is like a God damn masterpiece that he has
- 40:03there. Like, it's fucking insane.
- 40:05I'm going to say something that makes me feel stupid.
- 40:07For a long time I thought that the little spiral thing was red
- 40:11because it was moving so fast, like it was heating up.
- 40:13And then when I saw it still and it was still red, I was like,
- 40:15oh, it's just painted to look like a spiral.
- 40:19I thought that this one was too, so now I'm just as stupid as you
- 40:22were. Also, like in the silo, like
- 40:26when all that shit's falling down, like, is he doing?
- 40:31He's just on the. Other side he's like.
- 40:35But when he's like from two different sides and he's going
- 40:37to, like, throw shits on him, he's just got to run back for
- 40:39her, which is like everywhere. Yeah, it's just like, I don't
- 40:43know, it's way too convoluted for this to be back then, I
- 40:48mean. A lot of those are just like
- 40:50simple pulleys though, really. It's not that simple.
- 40:55Not a lot of in. Terms.
- 40:57Of like physics. Yeah, I mean, gathering all the
- 41:00supplies. Yeah, that's a beast.
- 41:01Don't get me wrong with that, but.
- 41:03Just remember though, where we were in saw one and two.
- 41:08I know. OK, that's where I'm basically.
- 41:10I know, I understand. And then saw a franchise.
- 41:12You got to one up the last one, OK?
- 41:14You got to keep getting more and more grand with your shit.
- 41:17And because if we didn't, then the time shift thing would be
- 41:19more obvious, like if it was too simple.
- 41:21No, I think that you could frame it like soft reboot.
- 41:25We're going back to basics. You know what I mean?
- 41:27That's a good point. Yeah, Like, I feel like it would
- 41:29have made sense. And honestly, I feel like it
- 41:30would have been better to just have it be like a little bit
- 41:33more basic. Personally, that's just my
- 41:35preference. OK.
- 41:37What's your absurd? So do you remember in Saw Two
- 41:40when it was very clearly stated by ABI that his name is
- 41:44pronounced ABI? Yes.
- 41:45And everybody kept calling him Obi, including Jigsaw, who hired
- 41:49him to collect the people. Yeah.
- 41:51And in his tape he was like, OK, Obi.
- 41:53OK, Obi. Yeah, it's Obi.
- 41:55Thanks, Obi. Thanks.
- 41:56Obi So Anna introduces herself multiple times as Anna says it a
- 42:01lot, and then John Kramer, her neighbor that they know she
- 42:07helped take care of him when he was recovering from
- 42:09chemotherapy. He says.
- 42:10OK, Anna. Anna.
- 42:16Did Jigsaw somehow see Frozen? That would have that would have
- 42:22come out after he died. But I don't know It's.
- 42:25No, it wouldn't have. This is like way back in time.
- 42:29That's what I'm saying. It would have come out after he
- 42:30died. Oh, I think he said.
- 42:31Like winning when he died. Like right around that again.
- 42:34I just, I don't know. Maybe he knew somebody at
- 42:36Disney. He could have.
- 42:37What if, and what if, before he became a mass murderer, John
- 42:42Kramer was an imagineer? An Imagineer?
- 42:46What's an Imagineer? The engineers at Disney.
- 42:48Oh shit, dude, what the fuck? That could be the thing.
- 42:52Like they're like they had the plans for Frozen way back in the
- 42:54day, like. He's like Anna and she like
- 42:56she's like my name is Anna. Why do you keep calling me Anna?
- 42:58He goes, you'll understand someday.
- 43:01Actually, no you won't. You're gonna die here.
- 43:03I guess I never got her name until the last scene.
- 43:09And I'm like Anna. I'm like Anna.
- 43:11OK, well. No.
- 43:13And she says it early on. And here's another ugly for this
- 43:16movie, it's all the fucking men referring to women as sweetheart
- 43:20and honey. Yeah, that shit is so demeaning
- 43:24because you don't do that to men.
- 43:26No. Well, I think he does.
- 43:28She calls him that. She's like, hey, there you go
- 43:30sweetheart. Yeah, well, she's doing it like
- 43:32passive. Aggressive.
- 43:32Yeah, I know. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:34So, yeah, she's like Anna. Anna.
- 43:37Yeah, these are they're all shitty people.
- 43:40Yeah. So it makes sense.
- 43:42So yeah, that's my, that's my absurd.
- 43:44Is that John Kramer still John Kramer in the way he's going to
- 43:48Kramer? He's that's just all he does.
- 43:49Yeah. OK, cool.
- 43:51Well, our time to rate it. I still like this movie.
- 43:55I think it's like a pretty solid Saw movie.
- 43:58I mean, it's a solid movie altogether.
- 43:59I think I'd give it like a 725. 725 I was gonna, I was gonna
- 44:06give it an eighth. It's 8th movie.
- 44:08I like it. Well enough.
- 44:09OK, that's fitting. That's so average 7.75.
- 44:16It's not gonna be 7.7, maybe it is gonna be 7.75.
- 44:20It is 7.75. Yes.
- 44:22Good, Mathen. Thank you.
- 44:24Thank you all. Right.

- 45:02Travis, why don't you talk about talk about your balls for a
- 45:05second, please. I feel uncomfortable.
- 45:06This is going to be for a lot of people.
- 45:08Look, I gotta tell you guys about this, because the good.
- 45:10The bad, the ugly and the absurd doesn't just apply to horror
- 45:12movies. It applies to our bodies.
- 45:15Applies to men's balls, because men's balls are absurd and ugly
- 45:20too that many times, but they don't have to be.
- 45:23So yeah, I have had past experiences with some of the
- 45:27little razors that I've had before.
- 45:30They get hot, they burn, they nick you.
- 45:32They actually do cut a little bit.
- 45:34I use this thing. Did not have any issues with
- 45:37that at all. This is the cleanest fucking
- 45:38shave and. He said.
- 45:39That was the best shave of my life.
- 45:41It really was man. Like I like I've never had
- 45:44anything like this before, so I'm.
- 45:45Going to say from a me standpoint, I appreciated that
- 45:48there wasn't hair trimmings all over the bathroom.
- 45:50Yeah, I feel like they maybe didn't fly as all over the place
- 45:53as they normally. Do well, there is a thing that
- 45:55you can do with that. This thing is actually
- 45:56waterproof, so you can go into the shower.
- 45:59You can do it like that. I did not do that, but you can
- 46:01do. OK.
- 46:02Well, now that I know you can do that, you know that that's going
- 46:04to be the expectation. Going forward, right.
- 46:06Yeah, I'll do that. Going forward, this is of course
- 46:10the one or five point O ultra that we're talking about.
- 46:12So this thing, the 5th generation trimmer.
- 46:14It features 2 interchangeable Next Gen. skin safe blade heads.
- 46:18One for taking a little off the top and then there's one that go
- 46:21for all smooth baby Yeah. Also has a dual LED spotlight.
- 46:26So when you're going down there to the dark nether regions, you
- 46:29can actually see what you're doing.
- 46:30Yeah, Travis is really, really jazzed by that and I will say
- 46:33somebody who's used that not later in the past, it is helpful
- 46:36to be able to see the skin that you're dealing with.
- 46:37It's one of the things you never really thought about, but you're
- 46:39like, it makes sense. I get it.
- 46:41It's very nice. I legitimately love this thing.
- 46:45It comes in the compact case, so it's easy to keep it stored away
- 46:49underneath the sink. That's important for people like
- 46:50Jesse. It is.
- 46:52I don't like clutter, and our bathroom is also so fucking
- 46:56tiny. And it's nice that this doesn't
- 46:58take up any additional space. You'll love this thing.
- 47:00Your balls will love this thing. It's gonna be great.
- 47:03Go check out our code manscape.com least fave 20,
- 47:07yeah? Yeah, if you want to get 20% off
- 47:09plus free shipping use the code least fave20@manscape.com.

- 47:20feel free. As a dove.
- 47:22Yeah, it's also got deodorant. Yeah, that's been nice back with
- 47:33our Jigsaw coverage. Our bro I.
- 47:39Thought you're going to do the news thing.
- 47:40That's kind of what I was doing, but then I couldn't remember the
- 47:42iconic lines, so I just you. Just you just you just go beep,
- 47:45beep beep. Beep Beep Beep.
- 47:46Beep. Beep.
- 47:46Beep. Beep.
- 47:46Beep Beep Beep. Beep.
- 47:47Beep. Beep.
- 47:48That news, breaking news? Yes, we are back with our Jigsaw
- 47:50coverage here over at Sawville Jesse.
- 47:54Police are chasing a wanted suspect.
- 47:57They have a barricade strip. It looks really creepy rolled up
- 47:59and it also looks creepy unrolled.
- 48:01And it does 0 to stop this Edgar Munson fucker from crashing into
- 48:07everything and everyone. Yeah, those spikes are supposed
- 48:11to be super effective, but like they this guy really showed
- 48:14them. It's like Nah, that's not like a
- 48:17flat is. And I'll show you.
- 48:19I'll show these spikes. Yeah.
- 48:21So yeah, there's a guy, he's got a game going on.
- 48:23He's running around on top of this building.
- 48:26Yeah, he like, he goes into a warehouse and the police are
- 48:29chasing him on foot. He sees an ex.
- 48:31So he follows that up to the top of the building and he grabs
- 48:33like a little. It's like a remote gun type
- 48:36thing. It's not like a Pew Pew.
- 48:37Gun. It's like.
- 48:38A controller detonator? Yeah, is a thing, because, like,
- 48:41this sounds stupid. But playing video games like
- 48:44Battlefield, like I've blew shit up with one of these things many
- 48:47times, yeah? Yeah, and he's like detective
- 48:49how to run. And they're like, you need to
- 48:51say more words than that. And he goes, Detective, how five
- 48:55people will die. And Holleran appears with
- 48:58probably my favorite line delivery in this entire movie,
- 49:00which is Edgar. What the fuck?
- 49:02Like. This is What the fuck are you
- 49:06doing here, buddy? This isn't supposed to be going
- 49:07down right now. Yeah.
- 49:09And basically he's like, you gotta, you gotta listen to me or
- 49:14we're going to be in a lot of trouble and he goes, Nope, we're
- 49:16going to take you down. And he's like, OK, so he hits
- 49:19the trigger at the same time. Everybody shoots at his hand.
- 49:21His hand kind of blows off a little bit.
- 49:24It blows up, but I think he also manages to push the button while
- 49:27it blows up. Yes, and he gets shot in the
- 49:30chest and Halloran's like who the fuck shot him in the chest?
- 49:32We weren't meant to do that. I.
- 49:34Think it should be pretty easy to tell, right?
- 49:37Here's the thing, too, is that cops aren't necessarily known
- 49:40for Sean Rashight. No.
- 49:43Shouldn't cops at this time also be wearing body cams?
- 49:46I think that I think that went into effect a little bit later.
- 49:49I don't know, man. This is 2017.
- 49:51That's true, Okay. So meanwhile, we see the game
- 49:54starting and it's all these bucket heads.
- 49:56And no, not that bucket head, but just, you know, just
- 50:00run-of-the-mill bucket heads. Yeah, not a KFC bucket, but a
- 50:03pig bucket. Yeah, that's what we got here.
- 50:05Still slop either way. That's one of the things about
- 50:08Buckethead that always made me, like, discuss.
- 50:10I'm sure he watched it, but like, the thing that always made
- 50:13me uncomfortable is like, that's got to be greasy.
- 50:16The Cinemark at the Fayette Mall.
- 50:18I'm calling them all out by name here.
- 50:20They have signs in their bathrooms that say please do not
- 50:26wash out your popcorn bucket in the sink.
- 50:31So that tells me that people are reusing their popcorn buckets.
- 50:34And also brief moment to that time in life when I worked at a
- 50:38McDonald's and there were people that kept their Styrofoam 32
- 50:42ounce cups. And this is when all drinks were
- 50:45a dollar regardless of size and they would keep those and rinse
- 50:49them out and get refills day after day.
- 50:51That's. Disgusting.
- 50:52Why? The fuck.
- 50:52Would you do that? How is that not deteriorating on
- 50:54you? OK anyway.
- 50:57OK, so all right, so they wake up, they're kind of confused.
- 51:02We get a message saying that they're all there because they
- 51:05denied culpability of shit that they've done in the past.
- 51:08Actually I think the whole quote's on IMDb if we want to
- 51:10read the entire. Sure.
- 51:10Let's do it. I feel like that that's a better
- 51:12effect. Yeah, that's always fun to do,
- 51:14yeah. I'm sure you're all wondering
- 51:16why you're here. Can you do like a voice?
- 51:18Effect on me. I can try.
- 51:19I mean, I that's how I did the intro for the whole podcast, you
- 51:22know? I'm sure you're all wondering
- 51:25why you're here. You deny culpability, no doubt,
- 51:27for the circumstances in which you find yourself, salvation can
- 51:30be yours. If you cleanse yourself on the
- 51:32habitual lies that have brought you here, lies that you've told
- 51:36yourselves, lies that you've brutalized others confess.
- 51:39The truth will set you free. But any attempt to violate my
- 51:42rules will kill you. I want to play a game first.
- 51:45An offering of blood, no matter how little, will give you a
- 51:48green light to escape this room with your lives.
- 51:51If you can release yourself from your demons, you can begin to
- 51:53shed the chains that those demons bring with them.
- 51:56Make the simple blood sacrifice that I've requested or face
- 51:58severe consequences. The choice is yours.
- 52:02So, all right, there are five of them there.
- 52:04They're all freaking out. One person is still unconscious.
- 52:07Not freaking out yet. I love.
- 52:08This. I no, I love this.
- 52:11I love this touch. If somebody still being
- 52:13unconscious and then being dragged by that, there's
- 52:15something about that. Just watching that, that makes
- 52:17it makes you feel a little bit uneasy.
- 52:19And especially, like, because it's not just that.
- 52:21Like, he's a real heavy sleeper or whatever.
- 52:23Like other people are trying to wake him up.
- 52:24Yeah, exactly. They're like slapping him.
- 52:26Yeah, he's just being dragged there.
- 52:28But like, I don't know. There's something about that.
- 52:29I liked it. It was a really nice touch.
- 52:31And Anna figures it out pretty quickly.
- 52:34She's like simple sacrifice of pled, no matter how small.
- 52:38I mean just repeating the. Yeah, Whoa.
- 52:40She's like, she's proud of herself.
- 52:41She solved the jigsaw. And I do love this.
- 52:43Effect. That it's because it's saw
- 52:46blades. Like, even if you want to do a
- 52:48small cut, it's going to be a big cut.
- 52:50It's kind of like when I, you know, gave myself this beautiful
- 52:53scar on my hand from Talia's nail grinder with that much
- 52:56momentum, you just can't avoid it.
- 52:58So she gets a nice big cut on her arm.
- 53:00Mitch next to her, holds up his fingy.
- 53:03What are you? What is the game plan there,
- 53:05Mitchell? No, I get.
- 53:06I get it. He's going for a small nick
- 53:08there and you can do it. If you just barely put it there
- 53:11and that's what you're going for, You can just get like a
- 53:13little nick on it and I think that you would be OK.
- 53:16He stumbles though, because it hits the chain and it just like
- 53:19yeah, gets his whole arm. Yeah, and Anna is trying to
- 53:23like, she's trying to help everybody.
- 53:25And they're all kind of in a panic.
- 53:26And it's moving really quickly. Ryan manages to figure it out,
- 53:29but Carly next to her is like not wanting to listen to her.
- 53:32She's like just a simple bit of blood.
- 53:34And she like, shakes her and they start fighting.
- 53:36And so Carly gets, like, smacked into all of the saw blades
- 53:40because it's not one saw blade. There's like a bunch of
- 53:42different saw blades you can choose from.
- 53:43If you wanted to, just like Nick your shin, you could have.
- 53:45Yeah, poor Carly. She kind of just gets like they
- 53:48all just gang up on her in every single one of them.
- 53:50And then also you have to think about it.
- 53:51So we've got this bucket head on the far right or left depending
- 53:55on, you know, your perspective of it, who is still passed out
- 53:59from everything. He's starting to wake.
- 54:01Up here. He's starting to wake up.
- 54:03He's still a little bit groggy. You got to imagine Carly might
- 54:05still be a little bit groggy too.
- 54:06She can't weigh more than about 85 lbs.
- 54:08Maybe she's just fucking out of it still and she's like, what
- 54:11the fuck is happening? So yeah, they all managed to get
- 54:14through except for the one on the back who we see being pulled
- 54:16up to the wall as the doors close behind them.
- 54:19Right. So I like this.
- 54:21I think this is really cool that they keep getting pulled after
- 54:23the door opens and then it's just like they're in a barn now
- 54:26and they just keep going. And there's something about
- 54:28that. That's just, I love the way it
- 54:30looks. It's creepy.
- 54:32It's so creepy and it's like terrifying on top of like, OK,
- 54:36you've been kidnapped, You awaken and probably pignapped.
- 54:40We're assuming they have good days now.
- 54:41Yes? And you wake up in this barn, or
- 54:45you wake up in this room with a bucket on your head, saws going,
- 54:49and then you just keep getting pulled by this chain.
- 54:52And then you go into an even bigger room, still getting
- 54:54pulled by a fucking. Chain not over yet.
- 54:56You didn't win, you're just on to the next one.
- 54:58Now it's. Kinda.
- 55:00It's like an all house eve when they're down in the tunnel and
- 55:03they've got the chain going like way down Into Darkness.
- 55:05It's kind of that element of the unknown and like an additional
- 55:08element of being trapped. Yeah, exactly, I wonder.
- 55:10If maybe something like that was set up for their original like
- 55:13outdoor draft. Oh, that would have been cool.
- 55:15Yeah. Yeah, I would have liked that.
- 55:17OK, so now we cut to the park. There's a woman, she's getting
- 55:21her tie, her shoe tie. She's going out for a jog.
- 55:23Not. Yet not yet, Because before
- 55:26that, Aller ends at the hospital.
- 55:28He wants to talk to Edgar. But Edgar is in a medically
- 55:30induced coma. That's gonna be important, OK?
- 55:33Yeah, so that's going on now. We get a lady jogging in the
- 55:36park and she's going on her jog and then she sees all these
- 55:38people piling up around the bridge.
- 55:40Scene was used in the trailers and it's fucking effective
- 55:43because this is like, this is the start of every episode of
- 55:46Law and Order. Y'all like somebody is like
- 55:48going for a little jog in the park and they're running into a
- 55:51crowd that's looking the other way, looking horrified.
- 55:53And then you turn around, dead body hanging from a bridge.
- 55:57It was pretty clear, though, that this wasn't the same body
- 56:00as the person that was here, because this is like a black
- 56:02guy, Was it? I think so.
- 56:04It's like somebody with like a darker skin tone.
- 56:06I was not paying attention. The person that was being
- 56:08dragged as a white person. I guess I just don't see color.
- 56:11Well, that's on you just. Kidding.
- 56:14Actually, that's a really harmful view to take when we're
- 56:16talking about anti discrimination and anti racism.
- 56:20Yeah, I know. Yeah.
- 56:21Yeah. You got to don't pretend like
- 56:23it's not there. I don't pretend that it's not
- 56:24there. It's the thing.
- 56:25Yeah. No, I just, I literally I I
- 56:27didn't notice that there's so much going on and I was taking a
- 56:30lot of. Notes.
- 56:30It looks closer to Mitch's body, if you ask me.
- 56:33Yeah, which I don't think we ever know.
- 56:35We just see Mitch's body later. Never mind.
- 56:36So either way, whatever. Not important.
- 56:38Everybody's freaking out because there's a body dangle in there
- 56:40and they got a bucket head on. Yep, so I put not Jeremy Runner
- 56:45is playing catch with his daughter and Halloran pulls up
- 56:48and he goes. I have my phone off for a
- 56:50reason. Doesn't matter.
- 56:51Apparently you're always on call in the Solvil morgue, so he's
- 56:55got to go do an autopsy with his assistant Eleanor.
- 56:59They are suspecting that this is a copycat of John Kramer, who
- 57:03has been dead for 10 years. As we learn, Detective Keith
- 57:06Hunt appears and him and Logan know each other.
- 57:10And then Halloran doesn't like that.
- 57:12He doesn't like other people. Having allies makes his job
- 57:15harder. Halloran just doesn't like
- 57:16anything. Well, and Halloran, I think, I
- 57:18think it's meant to be implied that him and Hunt are like
- 57:21recent partners. Yeah.
- 57:23And Hunt, we find out later, is part of IA Internal Affairs.
- 57:29So I wonder if Halloran may be suspected there was a little bit
- 57:32of heat on him. Yeah, I think so.
- 57:34So I think he's a little bit suspicious and when he sees
- 57:36Logan, who has a history of telling the press that
- 57:39Halloran's a moron, I think he. He's a little guy catching wind
- 57:43of shit. Yeah, he doesn't like that.
- 57:45They already have a little bit of camaraderie and he's like,
- 57:47no, we served in Fallujah together, so we're yeah.
- 57:51OK, now we get the body and now I'm questioning if this was
- 57:53actually a black person because now I'm like, oh, this is a
- 57:56white skin person here and that's like got a head chopped
- 57:59in half that I'm looking at. So I wonder if it was like the
- 58:02shading of the bridge. Maybe.
- 58:05I don't know. You paid way more attention to
- 58:07that than I did. It's just like observation.
- 58:09I don't know like I'm just pointing out because it seemed
- 58:11very obvious that it wasn't the person in the opening, which is
- 58:14an actual plot point in. The movie, Yeah, And that is
- 58:17fair. I noticed that more in the Carly
- 58:20kill later versus the person that we see.
- 58:22Like the facial structure is just a little bit different and
- 58:24the hair isn't as damaged as Carly's.
- 58:27You know, I didn't think about it, but it's convenient that all
- 58:30of these people die in, like, disfiguring ways.
- 58:32No, Logan like recreated the games to get the same.
- 58:37Yeah, I. Deaths.
- 58:38No, I know. I'm just saying like it's.
- 58:39Very. Oh, that.
- 58:40The original game was all disfiguring.
- 58:42OK, I see what you're saying. Yeah, yeah, I mean, it is
- 58:46convenient. Unless Logan's lying about the
- 58:48whole fucking thing. Which?
- 58:50He could be, yeah. And we, and we never know this
- 58:52on it. Yeah, we never see this guy
- 58:53again in the series. Always for now.
- 58:58All right, So they find that there is an actual jigsaw piece
- 59:01cut out. So they confirm that it is
- 59:03actually somebody trying to emulate the game.
- 59:06So always. Yeah.
- 59:06And there's an SD card underneath that that piece
- 59:09that's cut out. Yeah, it says and then there
- 59:11were 4 on it. So we cut back to the barn and
- 59:15Billy appears. And this was another shot from
- 59:17the trailer that I remember with Ryan gone.
- 59:19Oh, that's not creepy at all. It's a really good shot of
- 59:22really rolling up. Whenever you see him roll up on
- 59:24the track, it's always unsettling.
- 59:26Which and I'm sure there are people out there I would say you
- 59:29don't joke around in situations like that.
- 59:32I would say I probably would. You would I that's I use
- 59:37inappropriate humor to cope with things.
- 59:39Hello welcome to our podcast. Travis can attest You see me at
- 59:43some of the worst points in my life, including very recently.
- 59:46And joking is what me and my family do, so I could absolutely
- 59:51see me saying shit like what Ryan says the whole time.
- 59:54Some people also are just like nervous laughters or laughters
- 59:57too. Like, you know, I get it.
- 59:59People have their own reaction to that type of.
- 1:00:01Exactly. So yeah, he strolls in, he's got
- 1:00:03a little thing around him and it says confess.
- 1:00:06It's like a little envelope. I think so.
- 1:00:10Imagine being a Catholic and you go to confession.
- 1:00:13On the other side of that, it's Billy.
- 1:00:15Yeah, instead of Hail Marys, you have to like, chop off a finger.
- 1:00:20I. Feel ripped off.
- 1:00:20I'd be like, God damn it, this is who I'm talking to.
- 1:00:23Why did I convert? Yeah.
- 1:00:26So the chains start to reactivate.
- 1:00:28Mm hmm. They realize they're going up
- 1:00:30this time. They're not gonna be pulled
- 1:00:31throughout the barn anymore. Yeah, I think, yeah.
- 1:00:35So as they start to get pulled, they're like trying to figure
- 1:00:38out what they need to confess. Mitch says that he sold a bike,
- 1:00:41and it resulted in the death of the kid that bought it.
- 1:00:44Anna says that her and her husband lost their baby and got
- 1:00:48divorced. And Ryan, and this is probably
- 1:00:51one of my favorite quotes of the film, but he was like, that's
- 1:00:54not a death sentence. Just go to fucking marriage
- 1:00:56counsel. Yeah.
- 1:00:57Yeah, Carly and Ryan, though, refuse to say anything.
- 1:01:01Yeah, So as they're like being pulled, Mitch grabs a tape off
- 1:01:06of Billy. We see we and the chain stop, so
- 1:01:10they play the tape. There's three syringes in front
- 1:01:12of them. One has an antidote, one's a
- 1:01:14saline solution and one is filled with acid.
- 1:01:17And it's for the thief amongst you all, the purse snatcher.
- 1:01:22And he says, what is a life worth to you?
- 1:01:26And they're all, like, trying to freak out and see who's been hit
- 1:01:30with the poison that needs the antidote.
- 1:01:31And they're looking for, like, syringe Marks and Carly standing
- 1:01:34there and they're like, oh, well, I guess it's you because
- 1:01:36you're not reacting, you know it's you.
- 1:01:37Yeah, yeah. And they're trying to ask if she
- 1:01:40knows what it means. And she says $353.53.
- 1:01:45Yeah, not before Ryan takes all three of them and holds her at,
- 1:01:48like, needlepoint, like here. Pick or I'm jabbing you with all
- 1:01:52three of these. And here's the thing.
- 1:01:54Is she saying she doesn't want to pick because she doesn't want
- 1:01:56to get it wrong, But then she sees the 3:53 and she goes
- 1:01:58$3.53. That feels like your answer.
- 1:02:01But he keeps saying pick one, pick one and she's like, I don't
- 1:02:04want to so. That's why I'm so confused why
- 1:02:07they didn't just try that one. That I mean that's obviously
- 1:02:10that one is so easy that is the answer unless like that's one of
- 1:02:14those things where you're guessing like you're second
- 1:02:16guessing yourself too hard about an obvious answer like that's an
- 1:02:18obvious answer 350. Three.
- 1:02:20That's like the early bird questions at trivia night.
- 1:02:23Yeah, like this feels so easy it almost has to be a trick.
- 1:02:25Exactly. Yeah.
- 1:02:26No, I'm pretty sure it was just gonna be 353.
- 1:02:29We don't know for sure though, 'cause they all get dragged up
- 1:02:31there on the chains. And and well, we do know it gets
- 1:02:35revealed later that that was the correct syringe because yeah, so
- 1:02:39she has a flashback to when she snatched the purse from
- 1:02:41somebody. She was said she was really
- 1:02:43poor, desperate for money, so she snatched this purse.
- 1:02:46The woman goes chasing after her.
- 1:02:47She dumps everything out on the sidewalk around the corner and
- 1:02:50she takes the money. It was $3.53.
- 1:02:53The woman's inhaler was in her purse.
- 1:02:55And the woman, because she's been giving chase, needs her
- 1:02:58inhaler is. That what that was at the She
- 1:02:59had a heart attack. No, it was an inhaler.
- 1:03:01Wow. Damn.
- 1:03:02Trust me. Yeah.
- 1:03:04So she ends up dying because she can't fucking breathe.
- 1:03:07And Carly, like, kind of just tossed the inhaler away.
- 1:03:10So she let a woman die over $3.53.
- 1:03:14So probably not her proudest moment.
- 1:03:15Probably not, no. But she doesn't seem
- 1:03:17particularly remorseful, and Ryan doesn't have time with this
- 1:03:20shit. So he hits her with all three
- 1:03:22syringes. Yeah, and when they fall down,
- 1:03:25everybody's kind of mad at him. Like you took that choice away
- 1:03:27from her and he's like, well, we're all released so.
- 1:03:30We were all gonna die. Yeah.
- 1:03:31I mean, I feel like it's fair, honestly.
- 1:03:33If she wasn't gonna pick and it was all gonna have to be on her,
- 1:03:36you got to make that choice because she's bringing you guys
- 1:03:38down with her at that point. And so the only thing they can
- 1:03:41see is there's another door that's got a combination lock on
- 1:03:44it and they remembered her saying $3.53.
- 1:03:48So when they pulled this wrench that says 353, the plunger
- 1:03:52inside, once it was pushed down, had an additional string of
- 1:03:56numbers and that's the combination to the door.
- 1:03:58So that's how we know it was the correct syringe.
- 1:04:00I thought it was funny how that was the prop master's, like,
- 1:04:03favorite prop because it just had like a hidden thing in it.
- 1:04:05Like, oh, it wasn't the giant fucking turbine machine that you
- 1:04:08made, It was the little tiny syringe with the lock
- 1:04:11combination. This dude has definitely
- 1:04:12designed an escape room. You know what?
- 1:04:14I mean, like he created escape rooms.
- 1:04:17He started that sensation. 'Cause they talked.
- 1:04:19About just getting, like inside. Instead of having to deal with,
- 1:04:22like making a solution that looks realistic, they're like,
- 1:04:24oh, we'll just use white strangers, he goes, no, we'll
- 1:04:27put a Milky white solution. But I have an idea.
- 1:04:29Yeah, he was very excited about it.
- 1:04:31I was honestly like seeing somebody geek out about their
- 1:04:33work like that. A little detail that ended up
- 1:04:35making a difference in the movie, Yeah.
- 1:04:37I like it. I.
- 1:04:38Liked it too. It was cool.
- 1:04:39It was good getting that insight.
- 1:04:40Like, I never really considered prop masters having that
- 1:04:43influence on like the actual movie and strip and plot and
- 1:04:47shit. That's cool.
- 1:04:48Yeah. It's not just that they're told
- 1:04:49that they have to make this, They get to actually.
- 1:04:52Have input? Yeah.
- 1:04:53OK, so they get the combination, they unlock the door, and they
- 1:04:57enter the next room. And then we cut to them talking
- 1:05:00about bucket heads. So Bucket Head's name is Malcolm
- 1:05:03Neal, who's a gambler who basically got, according to
- 1:05:07Halloran, he was the bad guy and got his wife killed.
- 1:05:10He owed some loan sharks some money and when he didn't pay up,
- 1:05:13they came in, broke into his house and forced them, forced
- 1:05:17him to watch his wife be murdered by them.
- 1:05:19And Halloran's like, yeah, it's his fault his wife died, like
- 1:05:22Dang dude. And Logan goes, so you know, he
- 1:05:26he got in trouble. What happened to the people that
- 1:05:29killed his wife? They're still running free,
- 1:05:31aren't they, Halloran? Halloran's like.
- 1:05:34He's. Mac and that gum me entire
- 1:05:37fucking every time. He's like, I wanna be an extra
- 1:05:39smarmy little bastard. He smacks that gum a little
- 1:05:41harder. Yeah, little fucking asshole.
- 1:05:43So they do talk about the fact that it sounds like the voice
- 1:05:47was John's, but they are going to take the tape to.
- 1:05:50Have it examined. Yeah, have it examined.
- 1:05:54Take it to the girl that solved the the coast this.
- 1:05:57One, they can't coast just killed everybody.
- 1:05:59Oh, shit. She did die.
- 1:06:01God. Damn it.
- 1:06:01Like, God damn it, I wish we had.
- 1:06:02Her. That's why it's a completely
- 1:06:03different building now. Sawville doesn't have the same
- 1:06:06analysis building anymore. In Sawville.
- 1:06:08Guarantee you she's got a twin sister out there.
- 1:06:09Bring her in. Even though she has no
- 1:06:11experience. I guarantee you could do it.
- 1:06:12I just want to see that person like decode or decipher like
- 1:06:16this kind of audio again. So back at the barn, they're
- 1:06:19looking around their new room. They ask Ryan what his deal is,
- 1:06:22and he says he cheats. He sells bad mortgages, good
- 1:06:26drugs. He's cheated on his wife, both
- 1:06:29of them. Anna says that her husband
- 1:06:32rolled over on their baby in her in his sleep, and she doesn't
- 1:06:36know why she's here. Don't think.
- 1:06:38That they. Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:39Yeah, that's right. He does, Yeah.
- 1:06:40Yeah, they they kind of laid on a few times and you're like,
- 1:06:43well, clearly there's more to the story, but like, this is
- 1:06:48really sad. Yeah, it does.
- 1:06:49Yeah, and Ryan goes to a door that is marked not an exit.
- 1:06:53And they're like, hey, he was pretty clear about following the
- 1:06:56rules and that says not an exit. He goes, yeah, it's clearly a
- 1:06:58misdirect. So he tries to beat the door in.
- 1:07:01As soon as he does, he falls through the.
- 1:07:05The before yeah, into a like whole contraption of wires down
- 1:07:10there that's wrapped around a bunch of poise.
- 1:07:13Yeah, it is a. Lot like that, a lot like
- 1:07:15audition, just like it just wraps around them.
- 1:07:18You can feel the tightness whenever you see that the sound
- 1:07:21design on that was so well done because you even hear like the
- 1:07:24little sound of like the needle or like the wire.
- 1:07:26Like you know how you would take like a wire like that and just
- 1:07:28like thing like a little guitar strip like it just has that
- 1:07:31hypogenic thing. And it's like the fuck dude.
- 1:07:33And there's a tape down that like they're trying to like beat
- 1:07:36through the rest of the floor to find maybe a way to disconnect
- 1:07:39the trap. Instead they find a tape.
- 1:07:41The tape is like it's they need to do like Indiana Jones style
- 1:07:44like swap it out on the plate for the weight of it this.
- 1:07:47Is so stupid though. OK, So what happens is if you
- 1:07:51make contact with any of the wires, they tighten up on his
- 1:07:54leg. So what does Mitch do?
- 1:07:57He gets a fucking hoe and he reaches down there with that to
- 1:08:00try and scoop. It up, it's a rake.
- 1:08:02OK, a hoe rake. No, it is a hoe actually.
- 1:08:05A rake is more like that. Right, Rake is.
- 1:08:07Yeah, it's like for. Rake is like this.
- 1:08:09A hoe is like this. A hoe this right here is for
- 1:08:11like making like you're digging with this shit right here and
- 1:08:14that's why he like he uses that we're.
- 1:08:16Farmers. I have you.
- 1:08:18So as I grew up next to a garden, OK, I had to do shit.
- 1:08:22All right, either way. The Flex of I grew Up next to a
- 1:08:26garden isn't exactly what you think it is.
- 1:08:28It's a big ass garden, man. It.
- 1:08:29Is a big garden you all? I can tell you it is, but like I
- 1:08:34think when most people think of a garden, they think of
- 1:08:36something much smaller than your parents and your pebbles.
- 1:08:39So what? Don't.
- 1:08:40It doesn't make it any easier either way.
- 1:08:43So he takes that and he tries to scoop it up with that, but he
- 1:08:46ends up hitting the wires, tightening the shit on Ryan's
- 1:08:49wagon, and also getting the snapped in half.
- 1:08:53So now he has to very carefully reach down there in between all
- 1:08:57of the wires to grab the tape. This is a very tense scene.
- 1:09:00He does a very good job of like selling this year and he manages
- 1:09:03to grab it. Yeah, And then basically the
- 1:09:06tape is just like, hey, you've got to make the choice to free
- 1:09:09yourself, 'cause you can kind of put yourself in this position.
- 1:09:12Yeah, it's like, yeah, I told you not to, you know, break the
- 1:09:15rules. And this is exactly what happens
- 1:09:16when you break the rules. There's a formula, people.
- 1:09:19A very simple formula. I feel like.
- 1:09:21He knew that Ryan was going to do that.
- 1:09:24This is definitely designed for Ryan because he's a cheater,
- 1:09:26remember, and he doesn't have a game later on.
- 1:09:29So this is definitely like he knew this was going to happen.
- 1:09:31Yeah, No, cuz at the end, John says.
- 1:09:36That wasn't your game. Really.
- 1:09:39Yeah. So his game was between him and
- 1:09:40Anna. I guess so or maybe there was,
- 1:09:43yeah, that. Wasn't.
- 1:09:44Why does that have to do with any of their shit?
- 1:09:46But I do think it's kind of like his Secret game.
- 1:09:49It's got to be, I mean. He's a cheater.
- 1:09:51Like, that was his whole thing. He tries to take shortcuts for
- 1:09:54everything and John's like, hey buddy, no shortcuts now you lose
- 1:09:58your legs. This is the jigsaw we know and
- 1:10:00love who lies about his own game and rules.
- 1:10:03Because when Ryan's and their lady, he's like, I already beat
- 1:10:05my game and I won. And John's like, that wasn't
- 1:10:07really your game. John Kramer's so far up his own
- 1:10:09ass he doesn't even know what he he's selling himself on Shit
- 1:10:12now. Yeah, like John Kramer is so far
- 1:10:14up his own ass, he's not even a fart smeller anymore.
- 1:10:17That's just his breath. His breath is his.
- 1:10:20He's got it so far up, He's got it all the way up, back up to
- 1:10:23his mouth. Like he opens his mouth and you
- 1:10:27can see his face. Yeah.
- 1:10:29He's like the tiny little alien on the on the mother alien's
- 1:10:34tongue. An alien.
- 1:10:36The face sucker. It's perfect.
- 1:10:37You know what? I think I know what to cover.
- 1:10:43Yeah, it'd be funny. OK, I'm gonna do that.
- 1:10:46That's what I'm gonna draw and draw.
- 1:10:47I'm so excited for that budget. Patrons, I hope you are ready to
- 1:10:52rock the ship. Yeah, you guys get that as a
- 1:10:53sticker. That's right.
- 1:10:56They notice that there is a OK, they play the tape.
- 1:11:00And yeah, it's basically him shaming for breaking the rules.
- 1:11:02Got some life, then we cut to them.
- 1:11:05At the morgue there were some particles, particles, particles.
- 1:11:15Sorry. Go ahead, God.
- 1:11:19Come on, man. Do you use your inhaler?
- 1:11:23Are you gonna die like that woman?
- 1:11:26He found particles on bucket head and they show, you know,
- 1:11:31various things like dirt and pig shit.
- 1:11:33But they also picked up Ojeski's disease, which is apparently a
- 1:11:36rare disease in pigs that once it's found, it ruins a farmer's
- 1:11:40life, essentially. Yeah, it just kind.
- 1:11:43Of spreads. Pretty easily.
- 1:11:45So they basically have to like, decommission a whole farm when
- 1:11:48it happens. So Eleanor's like, I wonder if
- 1:11:50we can just, you know, maybe figure out where it was based
- 1:11:53off of that, if it's anywhere nearby.
- 1:11:55So there's a weird like ADR voiceover almost about possible
- 1:12:00jumper in the park. Yeah, yeah, he and they point
- 1:12:04out that the body that they found, this is the Carly analog
- 1:12:10died from being injected with acid not the fall.
- 1:12:15And there's a jigsaw piece on her tongue.
- 1:12:17And I just gotta say, because this woman's face was half torn
- 1:12:20off, but Talia got so fucking, like, upset when she saw that.
- 1:12:25And she looked at us. She was like, this is my face.
- 1:12:27Like, this was not your face. Maybe you had like, a real
- 1:12:29professional surgery and she went, she was really mad at us.
- 1:12:32Yeah. She's had a one.
- 1:12:33She gets really mad at face trauma in movies, you know.
- 1:12:36It's happened to White and Saw movies.
- 1:12:37Yeah, it happened to Hoffman back in Saw Six.
- 1:12:42OK, she got mad about. That too though I.
- 1:12:43Know. Yeah, she she.
- 1:12:45Knows what's happening. She's like, I don't like this
- 1:12:46shit. It's fair.
- 1:12:47It's totally fair. And Eleanor goes jig fucking
- 1:12:50saw. Keith reveals that Logan was a
- 1:12:54POW in Fallujah. Yeah, he got like tortured
- 1:12:57inches. So he's got a lot of PTSD around
- 1:12:59that. Not, not that good.
- 1:13:01Yeah. OK, so back at the game.
- 1:13:03And I'm Mitch are looking for other possible exits while Ryan
- 1:13:07is otherwise preoccupied, Silo opens up.
- 1:13:11So they go in there, There's like a remote and it takes two
- 1:13:14people to reach it because it's, you know, far enough up none of
- 1:13:17them could reach it on their own.
- 1:13:18But Mitch lifts Anna when she gets it and then it.
- 1:13:21Could she got it with that hoe? I bet that's what the hoe was
- 1:13:23supposed to be for. No, I think it was meant to be
- 1:13:26like this. So that way it would force two
- 1:13:28people in there, you. Could probably get with the hoe
- 1:13:31though. I mean, yeah, probably.
- 1:13:33But they didn't. Take that, jigsaw.
- 1:13:35I beat your shit. What do you think about that?
- 1:13:39OK, so yeah, they grab it, they play the tape.
- 1:13:42It's basically saying that. Well, no, cuz a TV comes on and
- 1:13:47a TV comes on for Ryan too. And basically they're saying
- 1:13:50like, you're gonna be trapped in here, buried alive unless Ryan
- 1:13:53can pull his little lever. And this was fucking terrifying
- 1:13:58for me because I used to work in a food factory.
- 1:14:01That was they worked with the there was another place next
- 1:14:04door that they worked with to get their grains.
- 1:14:07And one time when Asilo was emptied, I had to go in there
- 1:14:10and help do some cleaning. And let me tell you, there is
- 1:14:12nothing fucking scarier than being inside of Asilo with the
- 1:14:15potential of like. Yeah, having it all pour on you.
- 1:14:17Yes. Yeah, it's terrifying, I would
- 1:14:19imagine. This is my version of my mom's
- 1:14:24forklift problems in saw three. And it's kind of fucked up.
- 1:14:28A lot of people die like this, surprisingly, Like I think like
- 1:14:31every year there are deaths related to people having grains
- 1:14:34poured on them from a silo. Also, here's a fun fact a lot of
- 1:14:38people might not know about larger silos.
- 1:14:40This is a relatively small silo. Yeah, larger silos have stairs
- 1:14:44inside. That makes sense.
- 1:14:45It does make sense, but you don't normally think about it.
- 1:14:49So until you see it and you're like, oh, I guess you would
- 1:14:51probably need something like that.
- 1:14:52Yeah. Mm hmm.
- 1:14:54OK. So yeah, the grain starts
- 1:14:57pouring in on them. So Ryan is taking his sweet time
- 1:15:01to pull that lever because, you know, obviously we would all be
- 1:15:05reluctant to do so. In that case, the grain starts
- 1:15:08to get up a little bit, like to their chest, and then it stops.
- 1:15:12And then all of a sudden blades start to rain from above.
- 1:15:17They got lucky that none of this shit landed on them.
- 1:15:21That's not true. Mitch got a knife.
- 1:15:23In the shoulder. And Anna got some nails in her.
- 1:15:27ARM, let me rephrase that. She probably also got tetanus.
- 1:15:30They got lucky that it wasn't fatal blows.
- 1:15:32That's true, because there's a lot of places that that could
- 1:15:35hit there. Like, you know, you got your
- 1:15:37chest and your head there. Like, it could have been real,
- 1:15:39real bad. Yeah, Ryan does eventually pull
- 1:15:42the lever though, which releases them.
- 1:15:44And also cuts his leg off. Into multiple pieces.
- 1:15:48Yes. Meanwhile, Halloran asks Eleanor
- 1:15:51for her alibi the night of Neil's murder.
- 1:15:54And she was like, I was home alone, he goes.
- 1:15:57Difficult to prove, huh? She goes.
- 1:15:58Do I need to? Logan is Facetiming his
- 1:16:01daughter. He's going to be home late.
- 1:16:02He apologized to the babysitter, and the detective asks him about
- 1:16:07Eleanor, like where he found her as his assistant.
- 1:16:11And he was like, well, she came here for residency.
- 1:16:14She wanted to work here and then she just decided to keep
- 1:16:18working. When I offered her at the
- 1:16:19position, he goes, really, She was offered a job up in
- 1:16:22Cleveland running the morgue. Why do you think she turned that
- 1:16:24down? And he's like, would you wanna
- 1:16:26move to Cleveland? Logan.
- 1:16:28Would you want to move? To Sawville.
- 1:16:30Yeah, we live in Sawville, of all places, even.
- 1:16:33Sawville versus Cleveland, I think we have our poll
- 1:16:37secondary. Poll No, I think that's a good
- 1:16:39oh right, the polls are saw. Movies are determined already.
- 1:16:42Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I like that as a secondary
- 1:16:44poll. I'm gonna put that in the
- 1:16:45Spotify poll so doesn't be listening on Spotify.
- 1:16:47Let us know what you. Would you rather live in
- 1:16:50Cleveland or Sawville? Yeah, Although the answer for
- 1:16:55the answer for Eleanor is actually really that she would
- 1:16:59rather live in Sawville because she's a regular on
- 1:17:01jigsawrules.com, which must have been founded in the early days
- 1:17:06of the Internet, which would have been right around when not
- 1:17:09the early days of the Internet. But this is around the era of we
- 1:17:13were talking about like Evam's world and.
- 1:17:16I mean, it's still relatively early.
- 1:17:18Yeah, and whatnot. Yeah, that's.
- 1:17:19Still, that's still early Internet back then.
- 1:17:21That would be like in the early 2000s, yeah.
- 1:17:23Pre pre YouTube so. It's like right when we're
- 1:17:26getting over the hump of dial up.
- 1:17:27Yeah, so this is, I mean Jigsaw Rules makes sense as a as a
- 1:17:31website name and Eleanor is an active participant.
- 1:17:34She probably again, early days of the Internet.
- 1:17:37She probably used her fucking name or her cat's name or
- 1:17:40something. No, back then her username.
- 1:17:42Back then you made-up names all the time.
- 1:17:43I was part of forums and. All kinds of shit back.
- 1:17:46Then like, Nah, you don't go by your name.
- 1:17:49And then they discovered that the blood under the fingernails
- 1:17:52of the most recent victim is in fact John Cramer's Yeah.
- 1:17:56Logan meets Eleanor at a bar later that night and says that
- 1:18:01Halloran is a He's suspicious. He roughs up, suspects a lot,
- 1:18:06and then they tend to get released and.
- 1:18:10He's not got the best reputation.
- 1:18:11OK, so when he first started working here, sorry I couldn't
- 1:18:14read my notes for a second. And for once, it's only
- 1:18:17partially because of my handwriting and it's partially
- 1:18:19because my drinks spilled on my paper.
- 1:18:21Yes. So he roughed up a suspect.
- 1:18:24And because he roughed up that suspect, the guy got released,
- 1:18:28you know, on a technicality. And then he went on to murder
- 1:18:31several other children under 10, and they wound up on Logan's
- 1:18:36table. So he hasn't liked Halloran ever
- 1:18:38since. Then she tells him that she
- 1:18:42wasn't actually at home, like she told Halloran she was at her
- 1:18:45studio. And he goes, what's that
- 1:18:46supposed to mean? So they go to look at it.
- 1:18:49Keith is following them, so he sees what Logan sees and what
- 1:18:55Eleanor has been working on in her spare time, which is putting
- 1:18:57together all of the jinx on. Track every single one of them
- 1:19:01accurately, too. Like it's impressive she's
- 1:19:04managed to find the design plans for them online.
- 1:19:08They've they've apparently been leaked on jigsawrules.com.
- 1:19:10Including one that nobody knows if this game was ever actually
- 1:19:15played, but she there's suspicion that it was played
- 1:19:17before the earliest known game. She said that he's built it.
- 1:19:21I don't know if they ever knew for sure that anybody's actually
- 1:19:23been killed by it. Yeah, and Logan says, well, no
- 1:19:26victim has ever appeared with matching wounds.
- 1:19:29Meanwhile, over at the hospital, the detective that is supposed
- 1:19:33to be watching Edgar Munson, is falling asleep.
- 1:19:35But honestly, it wouldn't matter if he was asleep or not because
- 1:19:38he was facing away from the room and he couldn't have seen the
- 1:19:39person in the room closing the curtain and injecting something
- 1:19:44into Edgar's IV bag that makes him wake up and go.
- 1:19:49So now back at the game, they're putting a tourniquet on Ryan's
- 1:19:53leg. He is not having a good time.
- 1:19:55He It's a pretty loose tourniquet do.
- 1:19:58You remember? Let's go back about two weeks in
- 1:20:01time when we watched. Would you rather?
- 1:20:04Yes. And the sweet little old lady in
- 1:20:07the wheelchair died from a single stab wound to her leg.
- 1:20:10Yep, because of the femoral artery is apparently the entire
- 1:20:14leg according to that movie. Yeah, yet here with this, he
- 1:20:20gets way longer than 30 seconds to live.
- 1:20:22Yeah, yeah, yeah. I the Jeffrey Combs effect.
- 1:20:28Yeah, yeah, Jeffrey Combs is just you're like, OK, I'm just
- 1:20:31gonna try and bleed out faster because he seems like he'll be a
- 1:20:34bad guy here. Yeah, And she was paralyzed,
- 1:20:37obviously. It meant something just the way
- 1:20:40that they said it. They're like, yeah, OK,
- 1:20:42whatever, OK. Maybe that isn't the Geoffrey
- 1:20:44Combs effect. Maybe it's the Ricky effect.
- 1:20:47Yeah. The Rob Wells.
- 1:20:49Yeah, yeah. We see Logan at his house.
- 1:20:53He gets up in the morning, he's very sweaty, so he takes off his
- 1:20:55shirt and he's got a bunch of scars on his back.
- 1:20:57Relevant. It's like Travis from Would you
- 1:21:00rather? My God, same universe.
- 1:21:04So we could explain that from him being a POW, but also
- 1:21:09remember all of the saws at the beginning of the movie?
- 1:21:12Yep, just keep that in mind. Yep, for a second there are.
- 1:21:16Keith shows Halloran the photos of the studio.
- 1:21:20And then Halloran gets a call from the commissioner.
- 1:21:22The Commissioner is wanting to dig up Jigsaw's body to prove to
- 1:21:25everybody that he is in fact dead and to try and calm
- 1:21:28everybody down. And Halloran's?
- 1:21:30That's a waste of taxpayers money and I'm glad Halloran has
- 1:21:33to eat those words. Yeah.
- 1:21:35So like it's not like a question like they're actually pulling up
- 1:21:38the casket as they're on the phone, they open up the casket
- 1:21:42and at the same. Time.
- 1:21:44At the same time that Halloran is getting a call that Edgar's
- 1:21:47gone from the hospital. Yes.
- 1:21:48Then we cut over to the barn. Mitch has gotten a tape.
- 1:21:53It's not just that he sold a bike and a kid died from it
- 1:21:57because of faulty brakes. He knew the brakes were faulty.
- 1:21:59He sold the bike for $600.00. And that kid was John Kramer's
- 1:22:04nephew. And I want to positive question
- 1:22:06to you, Travis. OK.
- 1:22:08Does John have a brother or sister that we don't know about,
- 1:22:11or is it one of Jill's brother or sisters?
- 1:22:15Oh man, no. It's got to be like a like an
- 1:22:20actual sibling, because that's going to be a thing used in a
- 1:22:24future movie to bring us a new Jigsaw when they are like, we
- 1:22:30can't keep tapping on Tobin Bell to keep coming back here and
- 1:22:34saving our asses. Let's just get his brother or
- 1:22:37sister involved in this instead. But you think they would have
- 1:22:41mentioned it by now, whereas the brother or sister of Jill Tuck
- 1:22:44might not necessarily be questioned the same way she.
- 1:22:47Was. I don't think so.
- 1:22:48Why would they mention them if they've not had any connections
- 1:22:50to anything relevant to the case?
- 1:22:53Because they're the sibling of a serial killer.
- 1:22:55So it doesn't matter just because you're.
- 1:22:58They questioned. No.
- 1:22:59They questioned Jill Tuck all the time at the beginning
- 1:23:01before. They were married.
- 1:23:03They like they were married during that, like they had
- 1:23:06relationship during that whole thing, like if I have a sister
- 1:23:10and she goes out there and like you know.
- 1:23:12You do have a sister. Hypothetical situation here.
- 1:23:14If I have a sister and they go out there and they're over there
- 1:23:18fucking people up, Am IA suspect by default?
- 1:23:21Am I going to be part of that? Suspect by default, but I do
- 1:23:23think the police are probably going to ask you some general
- 1:23:25questions. Get more information about.
- 1:23:27Her. The thing is, we don't see
- 1:23:28everything that happens on on film here.
- 1:23:32In this. Movies.
- 1:23:33Saville is very complex, Jesse. There's a lot of things going on
- 1:23:36behind the scenes that we don't see.
- 1:23:38I think that this nephew is part of the cinematic Tuck Universe.
- 1:23:44The cinematic Tuck Universe. Yeah, you think he's a tuck?
- 1:23:47Yeah, I think he's a tuck. We'll we'll find out who's
- 1:23:49right. They're going to use it and
- 1:23:52there's no chance that they don't.
- 1:23:54So anyway, he's got to reach down and hit a little handbrake
- 1:24:00while he's in the middle of one of those little spiral cutters
- 1:24:03that you make curly fries with. So he's got to do that.
- 1:24:08Anna tries to help by sticking some rebar.
- 1:24:10Are you? Calling her on a yes, OK.
- 1:24:13OK, on a purpose. Yes, good job.
- 1:24:17I like, I was like, you got to like reach in here and grab the
- 1:24:19brakes and like, it seems like it's pretty easy because the
- 1:24:22brake is right there pretty soon or just reach down there.
- 1:24:25You fucking grab the tape before you can do this.
- 1:24:27I think part of it is because he's also shaken inside of that
- 1:24:30thing a little bit and I think it's similar to like the saws at
- 1:24:33the beginning where once you hit it you're kind of out of
- 1:24:35control. So I I think he's being extra
- 1:24:37careful. It doesn't matter.
- 1:24:39He gets curly fried. Anna does impressive work there
- 1:24:42by climbing all the way up to the motorcycle and jamming it.
- 1:24:45Mitch didn't take advantage of that moment to just go ahead
- 1:24:48and. Hit the brake.
- 1:24:49That was all on him. Yeah, like, dude, that's not
- 1:24:51going to hold that long. Like even if it does, don't
- 1:24:55count on it. Carpe diem, my dude.
- 1:24:57Yeah, like seize that fucking moment.
- 1:24:59Yes. So OK, now we're over to.
- 1:25:02We actually see them opening the casket now and we see Abuir's
- 1:25:05body is in there replacing jigsaws and he's got a jigsaw
- 1:25:08piece cut out too. So they decide that they're
- 1:25:10going to go look for Logan and Eleanor in Eleanor's studio.
- 1:25:14They find a curly fried body, and then they split up to go
- 1:25:18look for them in their respective houses, Hunt.
- 1:25:22This is a bold move that Halloran would send Hunt to
- 1:25:25Logan's house. But he does, and he points out
- 1:25:29the all of the circumstantial evidence about Halloran being
- 1:25:31tied to all of the victims so far.
- 1:25:34And he's in the right place at the right time.
- 1:25:36And Keith is like, here's the thing, I'm with IA.
- 1:25:40Actually, no, Logan goes, you're with IA, right?
- 1:25:42And Keith doesn't react quick enough.
- 1:25:45And he goes, haha, yeah, So they they know that Halloran's been
- 1:25:49connected to multiple homicides that have occurred, and every
- 1:25:53single one of the victims recently has been connected to a
- 1:25:56case he's worked on in the past. So he's like, well, what if we
- 1:26:00match the slug inside of Edgar Edgar's chest to Halloran's gun?
- 1:26:06Because Halloran, of course, being the type of guy he is, has
- 1:26:09to carry a special gun from all the rest of the cops.
- 1:26:11I like how this happens. So like, yeah, he does it and he
- 1:26:14pulls it out, but like, no one will.
- 1:26:16We know at the end where he swapped out the bullets.
- 1:26:18Like, what if Keith actually wanted to look?
- 1:26:20And like he's like, no peeking, no peeking.
- 1:26:22He, like, covers it up. Stop.
- 1:26:24Don't look over there. Look away.
- 1:26:26Look. Over there.
- 1:26:29So Eleanor finds Logan when he's later on back at home and says
- 1:26:34that she found the farm and she wants to go in without the
- 1:26:38detectives, 'cause she's like, we can't trust Halloran.
- 1:26:41But guess what? Halloran's following Anyway.
- 1:26:44Anna pries a door open to the outside of the barn, but it's
- 1:26:48like chained in such a way that even though she is like teeny
- 1:26:51tiny, she can't fit through. And then she gets Here's the
- 1:26:56thing. Technically, I guess you could
- 1:26:58say she's pignapped. It's I'm gonna she's not a
- 1:27:01pignapping. Did you come up with an
- 1:27:03additional pen? No, I was.
- 1:27:05You seem like you did. So go ahead.
- 1:27:07She was poise swined. Poise swined.
- 1:27:11Poisoned. Was she poisoned?
- 1:27:14She was drugged. Listen, they're all.
- 1:27:18Drugged when they're getting pignapped.
- 1:27:20Yeah, but she's already been pignapped.
- 1:27:21So this is an additional poise swining I.
- 1:27:23Liked your one before Hawk stitched?
- 1:27:25Yeah, I feel like that applies. More here.
- 1:27:27Yeah, I feel like she's already hog stitched though.
- 1:27:29Oh yeah, I guess he's mapped in hog stitch.
- 1:27:31OK. Whatever.
- 1:27:33She's one of these. No, that was good.
- 1:27:35I'll give it to you. Let's see.
- 1:27:38She gets she, gets she. What do you think the drug is?
- 1:27:43Hold on. That is injected in her.
- 1:27:46Mm hmm. Shit man, what knocks you out?
- 1:27:48I. Don't know a lot of things.
- 1:27:50Let's say she gets like a worked with a needle full of God damn
- 1:27:55something. Yeah, that was a really lame
- 1:27:57setup. Okay, sorry, not my best pig
- 1:27:59related puns to do. I just like John being like,
- 1:28:03yeah, I'm gonna pork her real good.
- 1:28:04Like, what are you gonna do? Like, no.
- 1:28:06Like the needle here. Okay.
- 1:28:10I love how deep the pig stuff goes.
- 1:28:14I, the person that originally wrote like, OK, Chinese Zodiac,
- 1:28:17this is really meaningful to have, and I like that everybody
- 1:28:20since then has been like pigs. Everywhere.
- 1:28:25Let's set this on a pig fawn. I just.
- 1:28:29I want one little. I want some really unhinged
- 1:28:36assistant way down in the road, like instead of being silent
- 1:28:40like they're supposed to be when they're pignapping to go.
- 1:28:47So they both wake up, they are trained up and John is there and
- 1:28:51she goes John, John Kramer. And he goes.
- 1:28:53Hello, Alda. He's rocking the soul patch.
- 1:28:57Yeah, he's. Filming himself.
- 1:28:58This is like groovy. This is groovy, John.
- 1:29:01This is John in his Limp Bizkit era.
- 1:29:04Oh God, yeah. That's why he has a.
- 1:29:07Backwards cap on he's he thinks he's Fred Durris.
- 1:29:11That's why he's such an asshole. It would be funny if he would
- 1:29:15just like drop in like a like a Limp, Bizkit quotes and it's
- 1:29:19like. It's all about that, he said,
- 1:29:21She said. Bullshit.
- 1:29:22Like he's like, it's just one of those days.
- 1:29:26Yeah, that would be Tagline. It's just one of those days.
- 1:29:35With the camera I. Didn't even think about that.
- 1:29:43It's just one of those days. Oh my God.
- 1:29:53I can picture it all perfectly in my head.
- 1:29:55I can't wait for that. That's going to be beautiful.
- 1:29:58Did you put? A tiny backwards cap on mouth.
- 1:30:01Kramer. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:30:03Yeah. Oh God.
- 1:30:05Oh man. I'm crying.
- 1:30:07Yeah, that was that was crazy. Oh, God, I'm glad.
- 1:30:11This is what Saul does. This man.
- 1:30:13This is what we. Do.
- 1:30:13Why? It's like one of the best
- 1:30:15franchises around. Yeah.
- 1:30:17OK, so aside from his Fred Durst quotes, he's he.
- 1:30:22Says. Ryan is actually responsible for
- 1:30:25the three deaths 'cause he caused a car crash and I don't
- 1:30:32know why, but this scene makes me think of an escape room, the
- 1:30:36one dude's back story where they're drunk driving and
- 1:30:39singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
- 1:30:41Yeah, it is a lot like that. It also made me think of I
- 1:30:43didn't know what you did last. Time.
- 1:30:44Yeah. Also that, Yeah.
- 1:30:45So basically he's just being a drunk asshole.
- 1:30:47And his friends were like, hey, don't be a drunk asshole.
- 1:30:49And then he fell out of the car and they crashed.
- 1:30:52Pretty much. And then Anna, he tells her he's
- 1:30:57like, yeah, you're not really being too truthful about the
- 1:30:59whole situation there. And then reveals that she
- 1:31:01actually he he was the neighbors.
- 1:31:03So he overheard them fighting, He saw them fighting a lot.
- 1:31:06And then one night he overheard her and the baby was crying.
- 1:31:11And she got mad, lost her shit, killed the baby, went into her
- 1:31:17husband's room and framed him for the murder.
- 1:31:19So does that mean John Kramer aided and abetted baby murder?
- 1:31:27Yeah, he didn't come clean. And really, it was just
- 1:31:30speculation, but probably not because he could probably
- 1:31:32actually hear that baby being killed.
- 1:31:34Yeah, I mean, and it shows him like in the window you can see
- 1:31:37him. This is why he started, like
- 1:31:39living in abandoned buildings. I guess he just, like, really
- 1:31:42does go by the whole snitch skits, stitches.
- 1:31:45Yeah, and he said, you know, it's just like this.
- 1:31:49You know, we don't always get what we want.
- 1:31:50Like the resident that mixed up my X-ray files, delayed my
- 1:31:53cancer diagnosis. I want to live, but, you know,
- 1:31:56it's fine. Also, you know, your husband
- 1:31:59wanted to live until he thought he killed your baby, and then he
- 1:32:02killed himself. So that's that's been honor.
- 1:32:06They discovered that they're the.
- 1:32:07Meanwhile, Eleanor and Logan are at Tux Pig Farm.
- 1:32:12It was shut down because of the Ojeski's disease, and it's owned
- 1:32:17by Jeltux family. Oh.
- 1:32:20Connections. IA Internal Affairs is looking
- 1:32:23for Halloran. He is not at his house and he is
- 1:32:26his house is designed in the most 70s This bullshit ever.
- 1:32:32It's like panel or 60s. It's like panel wood.
- 1:32:35It's like that yellow linoleum covered fridge.
- 1:32:39I feel like Savile doesn't live in like a very defined decade.
- 1:32:43Like it's just kind of like very ambiguous.
- 1:32:45Yeah, so they. Find the puzzle pieces in his
- 1:32:48fridge. What were they doing looking at
- 1:32:49his fridge? Were they hungry?
- 1:32:51They don't get a little snack while they waited for.
- 1:32:53Him. You gotta look, man, you got, I
- 1:32:55mean, like, body parts in fridge, you know, that makes
- 1:32:58sense. I get it.
- 1:32:59John gives him like a whole lesson on the pig.
- 1:33:01He said that pigs are very compassionate creatures.
- 1:33:04They get mad and upset whenever they see other people and other
- 1:33:07living things suffer apparently. And like he he really is like
- 1:33:11what? So why do you choose the pig if,
- 1:33:14like that is your message? Because you seem to enjoy
- 1:33:18watching people. Suffer.
- 1:33:19Yeah, You don't seem especially compassionate.
- 1:33:21You're very own pig like of you, John.
- 1:33:23Yeah, but he says that their key to freedom is right here if they
- 1:33:28turn it all around. So he loads a shotgun with a
- 1:33:33shell, cocks the thing, and then he's like, I'll be watching.
- 1:33:37And this is where I was like, he's been watching the whole
- 1:33:39thing. So he's been like, manipulating
- 1:33:41all the controls. That makes sense.
- 1:33:44Meanwhile, Logan, because he and Eleanor had found the game and
- 1:33:47there's like fresh blood, and he's like, Eleanor was this you?
- 1:33:51And then Halloran appears, and he and Logan start fighting, so
- 1:33:54Eleanor runs. Horan holds him hostage and
- 1:33:58yeah, like Logan manages to, like, fight his way out of it.
- 1:34:02They get kidnapped? Yeah, Elle gets away.
- 1:34:06And then how Aaron gets jabbed with a syringe when he makes
- 1:34:10away 'cause they all kind of split up.
- 1:34:11I think you mean he was porked with a syringe.
- 1:34:13He was porked, Yes. So I'm gonna.
- 1:34:16Have to like. Look at the.
- 1:34:17Latin. Words for pigs?
- 1:34:20Yeah. OK.
- 1:34:22OK before, OK And then now we go over to Anna and Ryan and I.
- 1:34:26Was like, he wants me to shoot you.
- 1:34:27And Ryan's like, I don't think that's what he was saying.
- 1:34:30And she's like, no, he wants me to shoot you so that way I can
- 1:34:32be free. And he's like, I really don't
- 1:34:34think so. And then she shoots, except it
- 1:34:36misfires, hits her, but it's half her face off.
- 1:34:39Ryan sees that there is a key in the shell that came out.
- 1:34:45Actually 2 keys. Their colors match the they're
- 1:34:48they're padlocks, and both keys are destroyed, so he's got no
- 1:34:52way out. If I was him, I'm just fucking
- 1:34:54on time a tourniquet at that point.
- 1:34:56You know what I mean? Isn't.
- 1:34:57It tied to that though. No, I'm just saying I.
- 1:35:00Just lead out faster, yeah. Yeah, yeah, probably.
- 1:35:03Yeah, he's not gonna make it too much longer anyway.
- 1:35:05Let's just speed this shit up, yeah?
- 1:35:08OK, so how Aron and Logan, they wake up, they have a device
- 1:35:12around their neck too, and they are told to confess why they
- 1:35:15deserve to die. So how Aron goes first?
- 1:35:18Well, OK, yeah, they have to hit a button to determine who's
- 1:35:21gonna go 1st and how. Aron says I will, except then he
- 1:35:24hits Logan's button. So.
- 1:35:26That's right. Yeah, so Logan, you know, says
- 1:35:29that. What was it?
- 1:35:33He messed up John's X-rays and that's why he deserves to be
- 1:35:37there because he potentially ruined John's life.
- 1:35:40Except then the lasers still go down anyway.
- 1:35:42He's blood is bubbling up and he falls to the floor.
- 1:35:45Yeah, I mean, like the blood shoots up, but like the lasers
- 1:35:49go down his whole head. And like you would think like if
- 1:35:52that show was actually doing damage, you would be able to see
- 1:35:54it. It would be visible.
- 1:35:56But how are in stupid? How are in?
- 1:35:57Is pretty stupid here. So now his lasers activate, he
- 1:36:00reveals. Like I'm responsible for their
- 1:36:02shit ton of people. Die.
- 1:36:03Evidence tampering, taking bribes, putting innocents in
- 1:36:06jail and letting the guilty walk free.
- 1:36:10And then the lasers stop and he's like, OK, cool, I'm free.
- 1:36:13And he looks up at the ceiling, and the lasers had made, like,
- 1:36:16all kinds of marks in the ceiling.
- 1:36:17And then he looks over at Logan's side.
- 1:36:19No marks. I like how that was shot.
- 1:36:21Yeah. It's just silent.
- 1:36:22And you just kind of like have to sit there and lean around,
- 1:36:24like wait a minute. And then as soon as you make
- 1:36:27that realization, that's when Logan starts to stand up.
- 1:36:30And he goes, 10 years ago a game was played in this very barn.
- 1:36:34And that's actually what we've been watching.
- 1:36:36He was the first bucket head that got pulled into the wall,
- 1:36:38And for somehow, for the only time in his life, this must be
- 1:36:41before the tumor got pulled from his brain, because.
- 1:36:44Yeah, John had a change of heart and he's like, no, no, sweet
- 1:36:47baby, come here. He's like, come here, Logan.
- 1:36:49Yeah, he's like, I'm so sorry. Logan.
- 1:36:54So yeah. And then we get like this whole
- 1:36:55history of him, like they've he's like, I guess technically a
- 1:36:59jigsaw, but he was never involved in the other shit.
- 1:37:02He isn't. But he is The Apprentice that
- 1:37:05Jon wanted every other apprentice to be, because he
- 1:37:07truly was like trying to get like speak for the dead and
- 1:37:12point out the wrongs that are happening in life.
- 1:37:14And he's not doing it out of anger.
- 1:37:18That's true that all of his other people failed like he's
- 1:37:20he's pretty bad at picking proteges.
- 1:37:22Yeah, so he was recreating this game to frame Halloran,
- 1:37:28basically. So he used people from
- 1:37:30Halloran's cases and then he's about to hit the collar and
- 1:37:34Halloran's like, wait, but Jigsaw always gives people a
- 1:37:36choice and he's like you do. Have a choice, Scream.
- 1:37:39Or don't. Yep.
- 1:37:41And then the always just cut him up.
- 1:37:43He's dead. He turns into a demogorgon,
- 1:37:45yeah. He does, yeah.
- 1:37:48He looks exactly like the. Dead.
- 1:37:49And then Logan says game over. Just kidding, Logan says.
- 1:37:53I speak for the dead. Yeah.
- 1:37:57Oh, and it also shows that Logan shot Edgar.
- 1:37:59Did we say that? Yo, yeah.
- 1:38:01Yeah, like he he like, I think this is stupid, Like he was also
- 1:38:04up on a building there with a sniper rifle.
- 1:38:06Like, did nobody hear a fucking sniper rifle go off behind them?
- 1:38:10Yeah, he's a sniper, but they all, they were all shooting too
- 1:38:13anyway. I feel like you would notice
- 1:38:15that like that gun, like a sniper rifle, is going to sound
- 1:38:18a lot different than a handgun. Probably, yeah.
- 1:38:21But the Saw Ville police force has trouble recruiting and
- 1:38:25retaining cadets. Yeah, so.
- 1:38:28Who brought the sniper? God damn it.
- 1:38:32Yeah. OK.
- 1:38:33So yeah. That's it.
- 1:38:34That's it. OK, I'm keeping it 725.
- 1:38:40I'm gonna keep mine at 8, honestly.
- 1:38:42Like, I I wish that they'd had one more movie after this,
- 1:38:45because I would have liked to see what they could have done.
- 1:38:49Like it feels like maybe they had some more ideas that could
- 1:38:51have fleshed out Logan to be interesting.
- 1:38:55I don't know. Man, man, he didn't really have
- 1:38:59much going for him in this. I just don't care.
- 1:39:01He's so forgettable as a jigsaw. Really, really, really want to
- 1:39:06see Costas and Amanda teaming up for once against Logan.
- 1:39:11They would be bullying. Yes.
- 1:39:13Absolutely Mean Girls Club for sure.
- 1:39:16So I was Daddy's favorite over here.
- 1:39:19Yeah, doing. I think it's possible for him to
- 1:39:22come back. The next one is basically a spin
- 1:39:26off. Yeah, the next one is like the
- 1:39:28only like really, truly independent movie in.
- 1:39:31A and then X is a prequel like, well, not a prequel but like set
- 1:39:36between Saw one and. 2. It's saw 1 1/2 basically.
- 1:39:40So I don't know, like, I mean he can come back if they wanted to.
- 1:39:44I just, I don't think that they're going to.
- 1:39:46I don't think that they liked how this was set up here, so
- 1:39:49they just wanted to scrap it. Yeah, well, and the problem is
- 1:39:52that this franchise, for the most part, has always been
- 1:39:55really good at its own weird continuity, and this one kind of
- 1:39:59makes things a little bit murkier.
- 1:40:01And they're, they're getting there now.
- 1:40:03They're getting weird. I did not care about at all.
- 1:40:06Like I can make all of this work in my head until we get.
- 1:40:10Socks. Yep, That's when it's starting
- 1:40:12to get a. Yeah.
- 1:40:12Now I'm like, oh, they they had a choice of like, do we try and
- 1:40:16incorporate the jigsaw timeline into this?
- 1:40:19No, it's not whatever. Yeah.
- 1:40:21But I still like this, maybe. I still feel like it has its
- 1:40:23place in the franchise overall. I'm OK with it.
- 1:40:27I am too. Yeah, it's fine.
- 1:40:28It's a good movie. OK, OK.
- 1:40:31What? You know what the weird thing
- 1:40:32is, though, Is that Stolberg wrote socks so he could have
- 1:40:37incorporated it himself. Yeah, he could have.
- 1:40:40But I guess maybe they were. They told him to do one from
- 1:40:44back then, You know, I don't know whose idea.
- 1:40:46What was that? I don't.
- 1:40:46Know, I guess we'll find out sooner enough.
- 1:40:48Yeah, So what would what would be the change that we would make
- 1:40:50for this? I guess it's my thing since I
- 1:40:53got the lower score I. I really just want the the
- 1:40:56reason for sparing Logan to be different.
- 1:41:01I mean, yeah, that was really lame.
- 1:41:02I just want. I wanna.
- 1:41:04I would have been a lot happier if it was Eleanor.
- 1:41:07Yeah. Like, honestly, like Logan, I
- 1:41:09just don't care for his character.
- 1:41:11He's just bland. I just, yeah.
- 1:41:13Oh, or like Eleanor was actually really Jigsaw's apprentice, and
- 1:41:17she set him up or something, maybe.
- 1:41:19It's like a double set up in this movie.
- 1:41:21Yeah, I mean. Sure, whatever.
- 1:41:23I don't. Care how you do it.
- 1:41:24I just want it to be. You know what I mean?
- 1:41:26Like I don't want. I don't want Logan as the
- 1:41:28jigsaw. It's just it's lame, OK?
- 1:41:31OK. What?
- 1:41:32It's how you think of it. Talia Boy.
- 1:41:36At the beginning, she was getting water.
- 1:41:38She was playing with her toys. She dropped multiple unicorns on
- 1:41:41the table trying to get us to play with her.
- 1:41:43She had to go outside of 31 minutes and 56 seconds As she
- 1:41:47came in. She played a little bit more and
- 1:41:49then she was sleepy. I think she got really offended
- 1:41:52at the face thing. And then she was like, you know
- 1:41:54what? I'm not playing with you guys
- 1:41:55anymore. I think she got really excited
- 1:41:57though. I saw she's like, oh, we're
- 1:41:58watching the song movie Funky. Let's do this.
- 1:42:00So I think Talia is gonna give this 7 1/2.
- 1:42:04OK. She would have given it an 8 for
- 1:42:07similar reasons as me. It is the 8th installment and
- 1:42:09that's a good score for it. Yeah, but the face thing just
- 1:42:12upset her. Yeah, put her in a bad mood.
- 1:42:14It's not fair. Yeah.
- 1:42:15Yeah. And Zoe did, in fact, watch
- 1:42:17this. She.
- 1:42:20In her Lawrence. Gordon shark bed.
- 1:42:21Well, at the end, finally, yes. Before that, Scout was laying on
- 1:42:26Lawrence Gordon, a shark bed, and Zoe didn't know what to do,
- 1:42:30so she kinda like crawled into an incline on top of my purse,
- 1:42:34which was next to Lawrence Gordon.
- 1:42:37She was just really confused about.
- 1:42:38That she was, she was like, I don't.
- 1:42:40She was like, this doesn't feel right.
- 1:42:42She's like, I'll do it. Like, I guess if this is what
- 1:42:44we're. Doing she she.
- 1:42:46Wasn't she wasn't feeling it. Right.
- 1:42:48Poor Zoe. We didn't mean for you to, like,
- 1:42:50lay on that. That's not what we're saying.
- 1:42:52Like I'll move that if you want me to.
- 1:42:53And she goes, no, I'm here, it's fine.
- 1:42:57So she did watch it though. She watches the Saw movies.
- 1:43:00Who did you relate to? Oh, the woman that died from her
- 1:43:03inhaler being stolen. Oh yeah, that's definitely good.
- 1:43:09Who did I relate to? I relate to Eleanor because I I
- 1:43:15don't know. I don't know if I would get
- 1:43:16into, like, the serial killer shit, but like, I was into like
- 1:43:18those old, like, weird websites back in the day.
- 1:43:21There's one like some gross shit.
- 1:43:24Like, I saw all those videos you weren't supposed to see back
- 1:43:29then. You know what I mean?
- 1:43:30Like all the famous Internet videos I saw, there's a website,
- 1:43:36Those of you who know, know rotten.com.
- 1:43:38OK, a lot of fucked up shit on there.
- 1:43:42So yeah, like, I I guarantee you she was like very frequent
- 1:43:45visitors or a very frequent visitor on those sites.
- 1:43:49And I was part of that too. No dream sequel, since this is
- 1:43:53our franchise. No.
- 1:43:54Which game do we think we'd survive?
- 1:43:57Well. I say about the fucking syringe
- 1:44:00one. Wait.
- 1:44:00All right, let's list them all again.
- 1:44:02Bucket. So bucket head.
- 1:44:04Syringe, syringe, piano leg. Piano leg.
- 1:44:10We can't really count the silo because that's part, yeah.
- 1:44:13And then the curly fry. Yeah, what?
- 1:44:16What do we call it? I'm calling it the Curly Fry I.
- 1:44:18Don't even know if that kind of turbine's the correct term.
- 1:44:20I just saw a thing as I that looks like it could be a
- 1:44:22turbine. I don't you know, I.
- 1:44:24Don't know what a turbine is, but when I picture, when I hear
- 1:44:27the word I picture. That's pretty much it.
- 1:44:29Like it feels like what I would expect is Herbine to be.
- 1:44:32So that's what I'm going to call it.
- 1:44:36I mean, yeah, and the shotgun. OK.
- 1:44:40So I mean the easiest one to survive is the bucket had one
- 1:44:43because you just got to get a tiny little nick on the the saw
- 1:44:47and just get a little bit of blood.
- 1:44:49I feel like I'd do some dumb shit like Mitch or Carly,
- 1:44:52though, and get pulled into it too far.
- 1:44:54I would, no. OK.
- 1:44:55I would try and do the Mitch thing, but I wouldn't back out
- 1:44:57like he did and fuck it up. No, I think I survived the
- 1:45:01syringe one 'cause she knew the answer right away.
- 1:45:03And then I just feel like, well, I'm gonna die of a poison either
- 1:45:06way. Maybe this will be faster if
- 1:45:08it's wrong. That's true.
- 1:45:09Yeah. So, OK.
- 1:45:13All right, we got the tagline. It's one of those days.
- 1:45:15One of those days. OK, so now it's time for
- 1:45:19Internet reviews. What did you pull for us this
- 1:45:21week? This one's from IMDb and it was
- 1:45:24like a two or three out of 10, and it was really fucking long
- 1:45:27because people on the Internet get worked up about stuff, so
- 1:45:30I'm just gonna read part of it, OK?
- 1:45:33The original seven saw movies build a rich story of a man
- 1:45:36seeking a higher purpose for the relatively short time he had
- 1:45:38left on the planet. The story was woven with layer
- 1:45:40after layer of twists and turns that actually piggybacked of
- 1:45:46each other to leave the viewer with really good wow moments.
- 1:45:52You know, talking about the difference.
- 1:45:53It like we learned that Lawrence Gordon, the Doctor, is the one
- 1:45:56that did various things to help out, like pointing out all those
- 1:45:59different layers they go through and explain all that.
- 1:46:01This movie introducing another apprentice and giving zero
- 1:46:05reason why he's never mentioned in the seven other movies is
- 1:46:07absolutely insane. I'm sure someone will point out,
- 1:46:10but he was the guy who mixed up X-rays.
- 1:46:12OK, except mixed up X-rays are never talked about in any of the
- 1:46:15seven other movies. Even in the later movies where
- 1:46:18we get the bulk of Kramer story, we're told that he knew he had
- 1:46:21cancer and the reason he wasn't operated on is because insurance
- 1:46:23denied him for pre-existing conditions.
- 1:46:26Another thing that drove me nuts about this movie is this.
- 1:46:28When the people make it past the part where the chains are
- 1:46:30initially released from around their necks, they go straight
- 1:46:33for the locked door. When their barn they're in as
- 1:46:35rickety as heck and you can clearly see that the boards
- 1:46:38holding it together are quite far apart, old, and could most
- 1:46:42likely be broken through with any of the farm tools that are
- 1:46:44just lying around. I mean, come on, they try and
- 1:46:47show later on that old pig face is stalking them, making sure
- 1:46:50they finish the game. But at this point there are
- 1:46:52three players still left in relatively good shape and if all
- 1:46:55of them grabbed an axe picked shovel and broke through the
- 1:46:56side of the Dang barn, they could take on whoever came at
- 1:47:00them together. Also the new jigsaw.
- 1:47:02Jesus Christ, please, please don't let this guy come back to
- 1:47:05the series as has a crap back story.
- 1:47:09Oh, that's kind of rude. And 0.
- 1:47:11Charisma. I think they just mean like, not
- 1:47:13very like, you know, inventive or like, it's not really like.
- 1:47:17I think it's an interesting take on it, 'cause, you know, we
- 1:47:20know, yeah, we know that Jigsaw loves to prey on people that
- 1:47:24have, like actual, like, tragedies happen to them without
- 1:47:27taking into account that those might have an impact on their
- 1:47:30behavior. So I kind of like that.
- 1:47:34I I mean, I think that they're kind of OK, they're on point
- 1:47:39with the criticisms on Logan because I just, I agree.
- 1:47:43Like none of that shit was ever brought up before.
- 1:47:46And like okay, cool, you're writing the movie after the
- 1:47:49fact. I can you know it's not going to
- 1:47:50address that stuff. But like.
- 1:47:52Up until the Jigsaw reveal, he's kind of a Gary Stew.
- 1:47:55Well, yeah, he is. But I mean, just write it in,
- 1:47:57find a way to tie it in better, more naturally.
- 1:48:00It doesn't. You're trying to jam this shit
- 1:48:02into the past movies and it doesn't fit.
- 1:48:06That's a wrong jigsaw piece puzzle right there.
- 1:48:09You're not making it fit, man. It's just.
- 1:48:11It was cut from inferior steel. Yes it was.
- 1:48:14But seriously, it's just like that doesn't work for me.
- 1:48:19I 100% get that. The other thing with the old ass
- 1:48:23barn, I guarantee you he had something rigged up there for
- 1:48:27them to not be. Able to think about the murder
- 1:48:29House in saw too. Yeah, like like either it's
- 1:48:32going to shock you or he, like, reinforced it with some kind of,
- 1:48:35like still bars or some shit inside the planks.
- 1:48:38Like, yeah, he's, he does all kinds of like, 'cause.
- 1:48:41Like at one point, when Anna is like trying to get through a
- 1:48:44door, she can't. Yeah, I guarantee you there was
- 1:48:46something there preventing them from like if they were to have
- 1:48:49like tried that, I guarantee you it would have fell.
- 1:48:51And yeah, it might have been nice to show that some of the
- 1:48:53audience knows, but I mean, we know Drake saw at this point.
- 1:48:56Yeah, exactly. Like, you know that that's not
- 1:48:58going to work. It's not, you're not going to
- 1:48:59get an easy out. I mean, there's a whole thing
- 1:49:01like, no shortcuts in this movie.
- 1:49:03Like you got to go through all of this shit he makes sure of.
- 1:49:06It and also like I wonder, I wonder if they were forced to
- 1:49:11come up with this alternate apprentice type person when
- 1:49:16Lionsgate kept turning down their different pitches, you
- 1:49:19know what I mean? And it makes sense that, you
- 1:49:21know, with them writing socks that they would kind of
- 1:49:23abandoned this if this wasn't the thing that they were trying
- 1:49:25to write about all along, you know?
- 1:49:28Yeah, it makes sense. It, you know, it just fuck it,
- 1:49:31man. Like, I'm glad that they
- 1:49:34abandoned it, honestly, because, like, it works as its own thing.
- 1:49:37But I don't want to follow this guy for the rest of the series.
- 1:49:40Yeah, it would be interesting to see maybe what he could do going
- 1:49:44forward, but I would definitely want some more of those legacy
- 1:49:46characters. Like we never got resolution on
- 1:49:49Kostas. Like he didn't actually die at
- 1:49:51the end of 3D. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:49:53So yeah, So I mean. Well, I mean, it's implied he
- 1:49:55did, but him. Lawrence Gordon A doctor.
- 1:50:00Hasn't it was implied to have died also?
- 1:50:02It was implied that the rule in horror movies if you don't see a
- 1:50:05body. Exactly.
- 1:50:06And I feel like that's like extra true in Saw movies at this
- 1:50:09point. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:50:11Yeah. Okay.
- 1:50:12All right, time for listening reviews.
- 1:50:15OK. Okey dokey.
- 1:50:17Twitter fucked us over, so we don't have any Twitter reviews.
- 1:50:20It just it would not push that that algorithmically for us.
- 1:50:24For whatever reason, it got almost no views.
- 1:50:26Yeah, like, I don't know what it was.
- 1:50:28Twitter just didn't like us this weekend with that.
- 1:50:30They liked all of the Talia stuff.
- 1:50:31And stuff. They liked all of the Talia
- 1:50:32stuff. They liked our anyone But You
- 1:50:35post. They just didn't didn't want
- 1:50:38anything to do with Jigsaw for whatever reason.
- 1:50:40So this is all gonna be Instagram, OK?
- 1:50:44Prisso is just says Nah not. Not too keen on this one right
- 1:50:49there. I would love if you want to like
- 1:50:51give us an explanation. If you hear this like, let us
- 1:50:54know. Yeah, but I mean, I get it.
- 1:50:56I mean, I want to say why this is a weaker one in other
- 1:50:59people's like minds. Like I I get why nobody wants to
- 1:51:03revisit this one as much as the other.
- 1:51:04Movie. But I want to hear why.
- 1:51:06People's specific reasons for that is I do too.
- 1:51:08Yeah, you know, short reviews like that, like just, you know,
- 1:51:11it gets it across, Jesse wrote. No.
- 1:51:17Because. I was being a Dick to you I
- 1:51:20didn't expect. You to read it.
- 1:51:21Out. Hey, Jesse, Why?
- 1:51:23Just tell me why. No, I was telling you I wasn't
- 1:51:25going to review it. You said what are your tell me
- 1:51:28your. Thoughts.
- 1:51:28Tell me why you don't want to review it.
- 1:51:30Because I knew I was going to be doing.
- 1:51:32This OK, there we. Go so everything I just said the
- 1:51:34past two hours. Thank you.
- 1:51:35Thank you. OK, and finally, Cube Save says
- 1:51:39this movie feels contractually obligated.
- 1:51:42You know what kind of like? Maybe like we need another Saw
- 1:51:45movie. Like we need to get some juice
- 1:51:47back into our like, shit here. Here's The thing is that Solberg
- 1:51:53and Goldfinger can do some really deranged shit with an
- 1:51:56existing universe or franchise or property or whatever have
- 1:52:01you. But they need to have a little
- 1:52:02bit of freedom, and I think Lion's Gate making them rewrite
- 1:52:05shit over and over again might have hurt this some.
- 1:52:08Yeah, I mean, because they did great with Saw X.
- 1:52:10Yeah, who knows? Who knows what?
- 1:52:12The. Story do great with Piranha 3.
- 1:52:15D Kevin Graeter's in this in Peace.
- 1:52:18He added it, though. This right here, Yeah, but I
- 1:52:21mean like. From which direct?
- 1:52:23Point of view, like, you know, because like maybe, like he's
- 1:52:26got a little bit more say in this series there.
- 1:52:29Like, maybe he can be like, listen guys, like, I understand
- 1:52:31what you're saying, but we really needed to go in this
- 1:52:33direction. Yeah.
- 1:52:34Yeah, I don't know. I mean, yeah, this, it does kind
- 1:52:37of reek of like studio interference, especially with
- 1:52:40what all you said. Like, I guarantee you they had
- 1:52:42their handprints like all over the script of this thing, Yeah?
- 1:52:45Yeah, I just, but I'm still generally, I'm overall happy
- 1:52:48with the vibes that they bring to this franchise and you can
- 1:52:51tell that they they have fun with it, so.
- 1:52:54Yeah, I generally like this movie a lot too.
- 1:52:56Like, I mean, it's still a fun saw movie for me to watch.
- 1:52:59I don't have any problems. And it is one that we've put on
- 1:53:02just randomly for the record. We did that for every single Saw
- 1:53:05movie. We all get watches in this
- 1:53:07house. Yeah.
- 1:53:08OK, all right. That's it.
- 1:53:10That's it for our reviews this week.
- 1:53:11That's it for our views, actually.
- 1:53:14Don't have a movie for next week because next week is already
- 1:53:18April. That's wild.
- 1:53:20But this weekend we do have a 2B.
- 1:53:22Or not to be. Yeah, so that's fun.
- 1:53:24And it's gonna be Travis's Pig, so we'll see what happens with
- 1:53:28that. Be on the lookout for that on
- 1:53:29Sunday, you know, in between Easter egg hunting or what have
- 1:53:35you, You know, have some fun with that and then we'll be at
- 1:53:40you with the April schedule, probably around that time as

- 1:54:02Yeah, it might have already always been there, but it only
- 1:54:05shows up on the desktop site, not on the mobile site.
