- 0:00Speaker 1: At your early morning phrase party. I am Sherry Mackie.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's time right now. Four Today's word the miracle is
- 0:09Speaker 1: in your next step of obedience. Second Kings four, five,
- 0:14Speaker 1: and six says. They brought the jars to the window
- 0:18Speaker 1: and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full,
- 0:20Speaker 1: she said to her son, bring me another one, but
- 0:23Speaker 1: he replied, there's not jar left.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Then the oil stopped flowing.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You know, sometimes the greatest miracle begins with the smallest
- 0:32Speaker 1: acts of obedience. The widow and second King's four was living.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Every parent's nightmare.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Her husband had died, leaving her burdened with dead and
- 0:42Speaker 1: now her creditors were threatening to take her two sons
- 0:45Speaker 1: as payment. She was out of options, out of resources, and.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Out of hope.
- 0:49Speaker 1: When she cried out to the prophet Elisha, she was
- 0:53Speaker 1: probably expecting him to hand her some money or perform
- 0:56Speaker 1: an instant miracle. Instead, he's her question, what do you
- 1:01Speaker 1: have in your house? She replied, nothing at all except
- 1:04Speaker 1: a small jar of olive oil.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Isn't that just like God? He often begins with what
- 1:10Speaker 2: we already have.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Then Elisha gave her unusual instructions borrow as many empty
- 1:19Speaker 1: jars as possible from your neighbors, Go inside your house,
- 1:23Speaker 1: close the door, and began pouring the little bit of
- 1:26Speaker 1: oil you have.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Imagine how humbling that must have been. She had to go.
- 1:31Speaker 1: From house to house asking for empty jars without explaining why.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Some neighbors may have wondered what she was doing. Others
- 1:38Speaker 1: may have questioned her. Still, she refused to let pride
- 1:41Speaker 1: keep her from obedience.
- 1:43Speaker 2: She simply trusted God as she poured. Something incredible happened.
- 1:47Speaker 1: The oil never ran out. Jar after jar was filled
- 1:51Speaker 1: until there was not an empty vessel left to receive it.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Only then did.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The oil stop flowing when there was no more opacity
- 2:00Speaker 1: to receive. Notice that the miracle didn't happen before she obeyed.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It happened when she obeyed. And that's often how God
- 2:08Speaker 1: works in our lives. We want him to show us
- 2:11Speaker 1: the entire plan before we take the first step, but
- 2:14Speaker 1: God usually asks us to trust him one step at
- 2:17Speaker 1: a time. Perhaps he's asking you to forgive someone who
- 2:20Speaker 1: hurts you. Perhaps he's asking you to apply for a
- 2:23Speaker 1: position that feels beyond your qualifications. Perhaps he's asking you
- 2:27Speaker 1: to start the business serve and ministry, give generously, or
- 2:31Speaker 1: step into a calling that feels intimidating for you. Well,
- 2:35Speaker 1: don't let pride, fear, a discouragement stop you. Your breakthrough
- 2:39Speaker 1: may be connected to your next act of obedience.
- 2:41Speaker 2: The first step may be to just. It may be slow,
- 2:46Speaker 2: It may.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Not produce immediate results. You may wonder if anything is
- 2:50Speaker 1: happening at all. But keep pouring, keep praying, keep serving,
- 2:53Speaker 1: keep believing. God is a god of suddenly moments. Suddenly,
- 2:56Speaker 1: the healing is going to come suddenly, the opportunity is
- 2:59Speaker 1: going to appear suddenly, the financial provision will arrive, suddenly,
- 3:02Speaker 1: the relationship will be restored.
- 3:04Speaker 2: What seems small.
- 3:05Speaker 1: In your hands become more than enough what is surrendered
- 3:08Speaker 1: into God's hands. So never underestimate what God can do
- 3:13Speaker 1: with your willingness to obey. Your miracle may be much closer.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Than you think.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Oh God, thank you, Thank you that you are the
- 3:21Speaker 1: God of abundance and nothing is too difficult for you.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Thank you for reminding us that you can take what
- 3:26Speaker 1: seems small and insignificant and multiply it beyond anything.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We could imagine.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Help us to walk in humility, trusting you even when
- 3:36Speaker 1: we don't understand your instruction. Give us the courage to
- 3:39Speaker 1: take the next step of obedience, knowing that our miracle
- 3:42Speaker 1: is connected to our faithfulness. Oh God, we believe that
- 3:45Speaker 1: as we continue to trust you and pour out what
- 3:48Speaker 1: you place in our hands, you'll open doors, you'll provide
- 3:51Speaker 1: every need, and you'll bring breakthrough in your perfect timing.
- 3:54Speaker 1: In Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today. Take
- 3:57Speaker 1: it applied to your everyday life, and you continue to
- 4:00Speaker 1: be encouraged to inspired. At Charlie Morning Praise Party, I
