- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Good morning and welcome to AgSquawk AM.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Jed Sidwell here with Ag Bull Media.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: We're a financial channel that loves agriculture.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to be talking about some of this action that we've been seeing in soybeans.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: The sanitary support down there on the border might be reopening, and there's more drama out of the Middle East.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: We'll get to all of that and more here in a bit.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: And lean hogs, they kind of had some mixed signals, but they closed down at down 40 cents at 78.68.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And before I quote the grain markets here live, like to pop on our sponsor, plus 500.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: We use plus 500 T4 trading software to quote and trade the markets every single day.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: The December coin contract this morning is coming back down just a little bit.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: It's at 531 even.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Nove beans, we'll talk about them some more.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: They're at 1317 and a half.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: And December Chicago wheat is at 719 even, coming back down this morning as well.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Big things to look out on the weather as we work towards this weekend.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: There's a significant rain that continues to target the northern corn belt through the weekend with Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin in the bullseye for flooding risk.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And as you can see, that's that big red splotch there at the top of the map.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: The Southern Corn Belt and Mid South face unrelenting heat for the next 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal through Monday, drastically depleting topsoil moisture while the hard red wheat belt keeps getting highly beneficial above normal rainfall outlook for the next 15 days.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: So some positives and some negatives to take there.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: They're saying the end of September, we're lucky we're going to be maybe seeing a dry window, giving folks the opportunities to maybe start getting into the fields.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: On to grain markets.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: I thought I just had to talk about soybeans today because yesterday we saw a heck of a rally pushing all the way up to around you know that 1332 range.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And then this morning and overnight we saw just a roller coaster, and that's what I have.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: That's kind of all the overnight trade.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Crashed down back hard, rallied all the way back up, and I cut this, copied and pasted right before we went live here.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: We're headed back down again.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: A lot of movement there.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: It's good to have this time, this time of year, as we work towards harvest season.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: It's nice to have some price protection via puts and calls.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Talk to your broker or call us anytime to ask about that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: This is our livestock discussion for today.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Santa Teresa, Santa Teresa, however you want to say it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I've heard both.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: It's been claimed to be that that is the next port that we're going to open.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Secretary Rollins is scheduled to visit there Thursday, and she's kind of indicated that next week, sometime the border will be reopened.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Mike Sands was kind of echoing that from some things that he had been hearing.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: We'll see.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: It has been just a trickle so far at this point.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: I've talked about it a lot, so I won't elaborate too much.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: But if we opened another port, the question is whether they'd have the cattle there to move it at capacity.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: This was a big headline this morning.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Trump says the U.S.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: is hopefully nearing the end of the Iran war as Saudi Arabia and Houthis trade strikes back at one another.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Trump says the U.S.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: may be nearing the end of a nearly seven-month war with Iran as he signals Tehran his open to a deal.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: The conflict is expanding into Yemen with Iran-backed Houthis escalating attacks on Saudi Arabia and seeking to control the strategic strategic Ab el-Mendeb Strait.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: A lot of hard words to say there.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: But the main takeaway from this is that energy costs are going to continue to see volatility in the price of oil, gasoline, diesel, and all the surrounding markets.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: That includes grains.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: That's why we're an ag show, and that's why we still talk about ag outside of ag markets, is because a rising tide or a falling tide or a choppy tide affects all ships.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: On the economic calendar for today, export sales come out here at 7 30 a.m.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: as well as jobless claims, housing starts, and building permits all here in about 15 minutes.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: The pending home sales come out at 9 a.m.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Central, as well as the natural gas storage change.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: That's all I have for you today, folks.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Remember, we have a catalog on feed report coming out here before too long, and a lot of things to just look keep look at as we work towards harvest season.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: The best thing that you can do in all of this is to stay informed.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: And as I've talked before, when it gets busy in production agriculture, like it is pretty much year-round, but especially in the fall, when you don't have time to ever go to your computer, the text updates that we offer, I think, are really the beneficial, the most beneficial thing during harvest.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Anytime there's a big swing in the market, a truth social posts, we drop strikes, there's lock limit ups, lock limit downs, things that we see under this current administration, you get texts about it so you know when things that are big are happening.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I highly encourage you to go over and look at those at AgBull.com.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: $25 a month or$250 annually to join our premium side.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: We get more of you each week, and we couldn't be more grateful to have every single one of you.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Well, that's all I have for you today.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: I will be talking to you all tomorrow live from Colorado.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to talk to you then.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: I'm Jed Sidwell with AgBull Media.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: We're a financial channel that absolutely loves agriculture.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: I'll talk to you then.
