- 0:00Speaker 1: WRKS Pickens Jackson. Hey, what do you say we sing
- 0:02Speaker 1: a driving song? There's not going to be any singing
- 0:04Speaker 1: around here.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Just real sports.
- 0:06Speaker 3: On the Afternoon Drive with Jake Wimberly.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Oh, this is going to be sweet. And it's all
- 0:11Speaker 1: right here, right now. On ESPN 105.9 The Zone and
- 0:13Speaker 1: online at thezone1059. com.
- 1:11Speaker 3: 28th day of September, 2026. Champing the chair sports maven
- 1:14Speaker 3: on a Monday. Monday, Monday, Monday. Taking you through the
- 1:18Speaker 3: rest of your day. Getting you set, well, for the afternoon,
- 1:21Speaker 3: Monday night football. And, of course, college football as we
- 1:24Speaker 3: headed to October. September's over. We're done. Now we roll
- 1:29Speaker 3: into October. Told you, buckle up, hold on. It'll be
- 1:32Speaker 3: over before you know it. It's kind of like that
- 1:34Speaker 3: eight-second ride. Did you ever ride a horse? Ever ride
- 1:37Speaker 3: a bull for eight seconds? Out of a chute? It's
- 1:39Speaker 3: kind of what college for me, either. I've never done
- 1:41Speaker 3: it either. So I like to watch it, but that's
- 1:43Speaker 3: about all. So, yeah, let's get ready for October. We're
- 1:47Speaker 3: brought to you by Ameristar Casino. Get out and play
- 1:49Speaker 3: at Ameristar. Everything you need at Ameristar Casino. All the
- 1:53Speaker 3: lines are out. Tonight, Monday night football at Ameristar. You
- 1:58Speaker 3: can play Philly versus Chicago. Philly minus three and a
- 2:02Speaker 3: half on the road against Chicago. That total is at
- 2:04Speaker 3: 41 and a half. 41 and a half. Do you
- 2:07Speaker 3: need the stuff I'm taking?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:10Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So, yeah, I'm taking a little Mucinex. It's weird. And
- 2:14Speaker 3: get out to Ameristar, by the way. Go to AmeristarCasino.com
- 2:16Speaker 3: forward slash Vicksburg. Get the BetBuilder today. The temperature dropped
- 2:19Speaker 3: just a little bit, and I felt fine. And then
- 2:22Speaker 3: yesterday I woke up, and I was just like, got
- 2:25Speaker 3: a little scratchy throat. But that's okay. That's all right.
- 2:27Speaker 3: So taking the Mucinex and, you know, just precautionary stuff.
- 2:31Speaker 3: So you may need some of that, especially if you're
- 2:33Speaker 3: out here walking in this weather. Hey, Texas 601-885-3776. That
- 2:38Speaker 3: is the Cowboy Maloney's text line. 13 locations around the state.

- 3:01Speaker 3: All the manufacturers you trust. David Murray at 3.30 on
- 3:03Speaker 3: Mississippi State. They host Alabama this weekend. Big weekend in Starkville.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Chris Landry, 5 to 5.30. We'll go all in on
- 3:10Speaker 3: college football. A little bit on the NFL. So we
- 3:14Speaker 3: had a couple surprises out there that flew under the radar.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Wisconsin knocks off Penn State. Penn State, number 13 team
- 3:21Speaker 3: in the country. Penn State loses 24 to 20 over
- 3:24Speaker 3: the weekend. Mississippi State, I know you guys have recapped that.
- 3:27Speaker 3: We can continue to do that. What was your biggest
- 3:30Speaker 3: takeaway in the state game? Did you have a biggest
- 3:33Speaker 3: takeaway or did you watch the game?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I watched the game. Biggest takeaway.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Biggest takeaway is I finally saw a receiver lay out
- 3:46Speaker 6: for a ball.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yes, he did.
- 3:47Speaker 6: That catch by Anthony Evans, because I've noticed this over the,
- 3:51Speaker 6: and maybe it's just because I'm old and I'm sounding
- 3:54Speaker 6: like an old man now, but I have noted in
- 3:57Speaker 6: years past, recent years past, that I don't see receivers
- 4:02Speaker 6: lay out.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Nearly anywhere, nearly.
- 4:06Speaker 6: As much for balls as they did back in the day.
- 4:09Speaker 6: So it's been a while since I've seen something like that.
- 4:11Speaker 6: So I really respected that dude for doing that.
- 4:16Speaker 3: No, that was a huge catch. And like you said, he,
- 4:19Speaker 3: he went out and got it. And then also, uh,
- 4:22Speaker 3: I just think the fight state never, you know, state
- 4:24Speaker 3: went up, state went down. They never stopped fighting. This
- 4:27Speaker 3: team plays four quarters and that's good. Other biggest takeaway.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Did you watch any of this Texas Tennessee game?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Barely any.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Did you see Tennessee get teed up for a couple penalties,
- 4:39Speaker 3: like simulating using the restroom and stuff?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I did see that.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Very weird. And the player for Texas sacks a quarterback
- 4:47Speaker 3: and gets up and acts like he is urinating, standing up.
- 4:51Speaker 3: They flag him, and it was unsportsmanlike conduct for simulating
- 4:55Speaker 3: using the restroom. I guarantee that official enjoyed calling that penalty.
- 5:00Speaker 3: And the player holds his hands up and looks around like, what?
- 5:04Speaker 3: You can't you can't do that. Like, why did he
- 5:07Speaker 3: think that was OK?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Because people are stupid. Kids are stupid. Yeah, exactly. How
- 5:14Speaker 1: are you baffled by that?
- 5:18Speaker 6: Let's let's just use a rule that you don't act
- 5:22Speaker 6: like you're going to the bathroom in any sort of way, because, well,
- 5:26Speaker 6: let's just think back to the egg bowl.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that egg bowl was. What was that, 2019 already?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Oh, gosh. Yeah, it was quite a few years ago now.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but anyway, common sense moving forward.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Don't act like you're going one or two on the field.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And everything will be fine.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Now, there was some play out there. Obviously, we'll get
- 5:48Speaker 3: into the Ole Miss game. 52-28. You've got to tip
- 5:52Speaker 3: your hat to Trinidad Chambliss. Man, the guy's a competitor.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And a guy battles. I don't think that this, and
- 6:00Speaker 3: I know that, Florida fans will disagree with this. I
- 6:03Speaker 3: don't think this means Florida is that much better than
- 6:08Speaker 3: Ole Miss. I mean, they got taken to the distance
- 6:12Speaker 3: by Auburn the week before. Ole Miss could not stop
- 6:15Speaker 3: the run game. Every time Ole Miss would answer, Florida's
- 6:18Speaker 3: handing it off, and they're ripping 15, 20, 25 yards.
- 6:21Speaker 3: So Ole Miss has got to get that cleared up.
- 6:23Speaker 3: But the worst performance of the day, goes to John Mateer.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Did you see some of this stuff going on with
- 6:29Speaker 3: John Mateer against Georgia?
- 6:30Speaker 1: I saw the highlights.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 6:32Speaker 1: If you can call those highlights.
- 6:34Speaker 3: That's what I saw because I wasn't going to, I
- 6:36Speaker 3: didn't watch this game just because I think Ole Miss
- 6:38Speaker 3: was opposite of it. And, you know, I was just
- 6:40Speaker 3: checking the scores and the highlights would come across X,
- 6:43Speaker 3: but the one play right at the goal line, he
- 6:45Speaker 3: goes and he rolls to his left. The ball just
- 6:46Speaker 3: comes out of his hands. As, as one person said,
- 6:49Speaker 3: John Mateer is done. They need a, they really need
- 6:52Speaker 3: to get him to counseling. Like the guy, the guy's
- 6:54Speaker 3: lost it. He's, he's done. There's no coming back from this,
- 6:58Speaker 3: is it? I mean, he is– one guy says John
- 7:01Speaker 3: Mateer kind of makes– the John Mateer kind of QB
- 7:04Speaker 3: makes you stop watching football and become more productive in
- 7:07Speaker 3: real life. Like saying I just don't care anymore about
- 7:11Speaker 3: what's going on. And did you– well, you didn't watch
- 7:14Speaker 3: the Tennessee game. At first I thought it was my TV,
- 7:18Speaker 3: but then I realized other people were talking about it.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Kirk Herbstreet had a problem with his headset. Did you
- 7:22Speaker 3: hear about this? So it was, you know, like sometimes
- 7:25Speaker 3: even here when we do ballgames, you'll get the crackling
- 7:27Speaker 3: in the headset, you know, and just something was going on.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Herb Street was not happy about it. And they tried
- 7:33Speaker 3: to fix it. And then even Fowler was joking with
- 7:36Speaker 3: him like, hey, if you just want to write something down,
- 7:38Speaker 3: I'll say it for you. Like messing with him. And
- 7:40Speaker 3: Kirk was just like, man, I've just never had to
- 7:42Speaker 3: deal with this. I've just never had to deal with this.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Like he was not happy. But it was obviously something
- 7:48Speaker 3: in the headset. It was something. They finally got it fixed.
- 7:51Speaker 3: But it was very weird. Herb Street, not happy.
- 7:53Speaker 6: No. That's not shocking, Herb Street. Why don't you go
- 7:55Speaker 6: pet your dog and shut up and calm down?
- 7:58Speaker 3: Why do they keep pushing this? I've asked this for
- 8:01Speaker 3: now two years. I saw a Canes commercial now. This
- 8:05Speaker 3: is horrible marketing. People don't care about that dog that much,
- 8:08Speaker 3: do they?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Sadly, yes.
- 8:10Speaker 7: Really?
- 8:10Speaker 1: People seem to.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Why do we care about what kind of dog Herb
- 8:14Speaker 3: Street has? This blows my mind.
- 8:18Speaker 6: I think we have found if you take something... And
- 8:22Speaker 6: you shove it in people's face enough. Eventually, I feel
- 8:27Speaker 6: like people just accept it. You shove it in their
- 8:33Speaker 6: face enough because we saw that Herb Street's dog.
- 8:37Speaker 1: ESPN with Pat McAfee.
- 8:41Speaker 6: You just take something and you shove it down their
- 8:43Speaker 6: throat long enough. Maybe people just realize, you know what?
- 8:47Speaker 6: I guess I don't have an option at this point anymore.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You make a good point about McAfee because at the beginning,
- 8:53Speaker 3: a lot of people groaned about it. Why are we
- 8:55Speaker 3: getting so much of this guy? And now people don't
- 8:57Speaker 3: say anything at all. Maryland football closed this past week
- 9:02Speaker 3: as a 1.5 point favorite underdog, a point and a half.
- 9:07Speaker 3: They lost by 51. The 49 and a half point
- 9:10Speaker 3: swing against the spread is one of the largest in
- 9:12Speaker 3: the history of organized football, a defeat of almost incomprehensible proportions.
- 9:19Speaker 3: They closed... as a 1.5 underdog and lost by 49.5,
- 9:25Speaker 3: one of the biggest swings ever in Vegas. Also, we'll
- 9:31Speaker 3: get into lines for this week. Just to tell you
- 9:33Speaker 3: a couple real quick. I mean, Ole Miss in the clubhouse,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I don't think they mind about that. State is a 5.5-point
- 9:41Speaker 3: underdog against Alabama. That totals at 59.5. Florida is a 4.5-point
- 9:46Speaker 3: favorite at Missouri this weekend. That totals at 56.5. Tennessee
- 9:49Speaker 3: and Auburn... Auburn is a 7.5-point underdog on the road
- 9:54Speaker 3: to Tennessee. Texas A & M, which looks like straight boo-boo,
- 9:58Speaker 3: they are minus 14.5. They are a favorite against Arkansas. Kentucky,
- 10:02Speaker 3: South Carolina. South Carolina desperately needs a win. Kentucky would
- 10:05Speaker 3: like to keep winning. They're 24th in the country in
- 10:07Speaker 3: the AP. South Carolina, minus 2.5. Georgia is a 24.5-point
- 10:10Speaker 3: favorite over Vandy. And there is no line on Mercer
- 10:14Speaker 3: and LSU. Essentially, they have a bye week. We're brought
- 10:17Speaker 3: to you by Clinton Body Shop, 601-924-2159. OEM factory certified.

- 11:29Speaker 3: And don't forget about Soul Spa. All right, let's see
- 11:32Speaker 3: here real quick. Let me go over to the text line.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I got an unnamed texter. You can text us 601-885-3776.
- 11:38Speaker 3: The headset issue also happened right after they talked about
- 11:41Speaker 3: radio security for the president at the game. Well, that
- 11:46Speaker 3: is true. And it could have been, you know, with everything,
- 11:50Speaker 3: you know, I have no idea what that whole deal
- 11:52Speaker 3: looks like behind the scenes with radios and such, but
- 11:55Speaker 3: it could have been too much equipment in there. causing
- 11:57Speaker 3: interference and that kind of stuff. You know, we had
- 11:59Speaker 3: that issue in Starville Friday night. We had a lot
- 12:03Speaker 3: of people crammed in one little space, two different deals,
- 12:05Speaker 3: and there was some interference with, you know, and again,
- 12:07Speaker 3: this is a Bill Wilson deal, not a me deal. So,
- 12:09Speaker 3: all right, let's see here. Will, happy Monday beef. All right,
- 12:13Speaker 3: Jake Wim. I know we're discussing college ball at the moment,
- 12:17Speaker 3: but we've got to get to the bottom of this
- 12:18Speaker 3: Brandon double extra point. This Brandon double extra point after
- 12:25Speaker 3: the Starville penalty. I don't think that was supposed to happen.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Brandon having to re-kick an extra point because of a
- 12:33Speaker 3: penalty on the defense just makes zero sense. First time
- 12:39Speaker 3: I've ever seen a team have to replay a scoring
- 12:42Speaker 3: play because it was a defensive penalty. Okay, I know
- 12:45Speaker 3: what you think, what you speak of. All right, so
- 12:46Speaker 3: the Brandon Starkville game on Friday night was wild. Absolutely wild.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Probably the wildest game on Friday night in the state.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Brandon opens up the game. and throws a screen pass
- 12:57Speaker 3: that goes 75 yards to play one. Tyson Robinson housed
- 13:01Speaker 3: that thing. They did some pre-snap eye candy, got Starkville
- 13:05Speaker 3: to move around a little bit, got them out of
- 13:07Speaker 3: position and scored. Then they kicked an onside kick. They
- 13:09Speaker 3: got it. Speaking of, did you see the drop kick
- 13:12Speaker 3: by Tennessee Saturday? That just blew me away. I know
- 13:18Speaker 3: that's a harder kick, but anyway. Got the onside kick,
- 13:22Speaker 3: fumbled it right back to Starkville. That game was... Let's see.
- 13:27Speaker 6: No.
- 13:27Speaker 3: 14 to nothing. And then it ended up 17-17 at
- 13:31Speaker 3: the half. They traded a couple scores. But the play
- 13:35Speaker 3: Will's talking about, I think they might have blown that call, Will.
- 13:38Speaker 3: We were talking about that. Brandon kicked an extra point.
- 13:41Speaker 3: It was offsides. And then instead of just giving an
- 13:44Speaker 3: opportunity to accept it, they just moved it up five
- 13:46Speaker 3: more and you had to re-kick it again. So there
- 13:48Speaker 3: was a lot of confusion there. But Brandon goes on
- 13:51Speaker 3: to double overtime to beat Starkville. That's a really good
- 13:54Speaker 3: Starkville team. That was their first loss of the season.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Maybe the only team that can be too below in
- 13:58Speaker 3: the North, the way they play, the way they play.
- 14:01Speaker 3: But we'll see. It's a long way to go. But, yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 3: that was a very, very fun game. I think that
- 14:04Speaker 3: was just a blowing call. JC, good afternoon, gentlemen. You
- 14:08Speaker 3: know why I'm here, Jake. I'm going to give you
- 14:10Speaker 3: an opportunity to change the name. And if you don't,
- 14:14Speaker 3: I'll be back during the 5 o'clock hour when you
- 14:17Speaker 3: have the highest audience to expose you to the maximum
- 14:21Speaker 3: amount of this.
- 14:21Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 14:21Speaker 3: I went 5-5 this weekend. It was a push this weekend.
- 14:25Speaker 3: What's he talking about?
- 14:26Speaker 6: What he's talking about is you actually went three and seven.
- 14:30Speaker 6: Where did you get this two-game difference? I just counted
- 14:35Speaker 6: your stuff earlier. You were three and seven, Jake. See
- 14:37Speaker 6: what he's talking about? That's what he's talking about, exposing you.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I'm going to have to go double-check this.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you are.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to have to go double-check this.
- 14:47Speaker 1: JC, you see? You see what I'm talking about?
- 14:51Speaker 3: Let me go check this. White Denzel. The Tennessee drop
- 14:54Speaker 3: kick onside kick. was illegal according to the sec after
- 14:58Speaker 3: the game really i mean i'll tell you this it
- 15:02Speaker 3: was weird it was a weird weird weird kick so
- 15:06Speaker 3: all right let me move along and jc i'll go
- 15:08Speaker 3: check that and look if i went three and seven
- 15:09Speaker 3: i went three and seven so it's just a couple
- 15:12Speaker 3: games under 500 we keep rolling into the next week
- 15:15Speaker 3: all right here we go we'll get into the athletic
- 15:18Speaker 3: ranking all 138 college teams won't go through all that
- 15:22Speaker 3: but uh there's some interesting nuggets there also darian mince
- 15:25Speaker 3: said miami He said, Darian Minson is off to a
- 15:29Speaker 3: historic start at Miami. First QB in 30 years with
- 15:32Speaker 3: more TDs than incompletions through four games. Best completion percentage
- 15:36Speaker 3: in the last 22 years. Have you paid attention to
- 15:38Speaker 3: this guy? What he's doing?
- 15:40Speaker 4: No.
- 15:41Speaker 6: I mean, I see his numbers. You know what I
- 15:44Speaker 6: find interesting about Miami? I just learned this actually last Friday.
- 15:48Speaker 6: I didn't learn it, but I never really actually paid
- 15:51Speaker 6: attention to it. Here we are week four of the season.
- 15:55Speaker 6: You know, that is the first Saturday game Miami has
- 15:58Speaker 6: played this year.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Really?
- 16:00Speaker 1: You know, week one, they opened on a Thursday. I
- 16:04Speaker 1: think this is how it went. Thursday.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Anyway, the first three weeks, there was one Thursday game
- 16:08Speaker 6: and two Friday games.
- 16:12Speaker 1: TV. And Friday, by the way, we were off.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Yep.
- 16:16Speaker 6: Okay, so when I got home, I got home Friday afternoon.
- 16:20Speaker 1: About 3 o'clock.
- 16:21Speaker 6: At 3 o'clock... I noticed there was a college football
- 16:27Speaker 6: game being played, and they were at halftime at 3
- 16:31Speaker 6: o'clock on, I can't remember, I think Army.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I think you're right.
- 16:35Speaker 1: But they were at halftime on a Friday.
- 16:37Speaker 6: So my first thought was there must be some sort
- 16:41Speaker 6: of emergency situation. Maybe wherever they are, there's some bad weather.
- 16:45Speaker 6: So they wanted to move it to a Friday to
- 16:48Speaker 6: get ahead of it. Nope, just ESPN just wanted a
- 16:51Speaker 6: triple header for that afternoon and evening.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 16:55Speaker 6: So you're playing a college football game at 2 o'clock
- 16:58Speaker 6: on a Friday afternoon.
- 17:00Speaker 1: That just seemed real stupid to me. Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 3: No, it really did. Let's see here. DX. Come on, Jake.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Don't be dishonest. No, the picks are out there. The
- 17:11Speaker 3: picks are out there for you to see. I counted
- 17:12Speaker 3: it quickly, and I could have miscounted. It was yesterday,
- 17:15Speaker 3: just in the fly of stuff. I said, well, I
- 17:16Speaker 3: think 1, 2, 3, 4. So, yeah, let me just
- 17:18Speaker 3: look at it again. If I went 3-7, it's 3-7. JC,
- 17:21Speaker 3: as always, Beavis correct. After that move he just pulled,
- 17:23Speaker 3: I will definitely be back in the 5 o'clock hour. JC,
- 17:27Speaker 3: we look forward to you coming back in the 5
- 17:28Speaker 3: o'clock hour.
- 17:28Speaker 1: 601-885-3776.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Darian Mensah is just rolling. And also, talking about
- 17:38Speaker 3: sports gaming, perfect betting records so far this year through
- 17:43Speaker 3: college football teams that are 4-0 against the spread. 4-0
- 17:47Speaker 3: against the spread.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Duke, Georgia.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Georgia State, James Madison, Mississippi State, New Mexico, Oregon State, UCLA,
- 17:56Speaker 3: and Utah. Teams that are 0-4 against the spread, Arizona, Buffalo,
- 18:03Speaker 3: Georgia Tech, Indiana, and I do want to touch on Indiana.
- 18:07Speaker 3: They had a time against Northwestern, Old Dominion, San Diego State,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and Washington. But first, let's go over to the Mississippi
- 18:12Speaker 3: Sports Medicine caller line. Louisville George on line one. George,
- 18:16Speaker 3: happy Monday.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Happy Monday. Everybody good?
- 18:20Speaker 4: Man, we're good.
- 18:20Speaker 3: How are you?
- 18:23Speaker 2: You know, I'm okay. I mean, I'm good as far
- 18:25Speaker 2: as me, but... Okay. My Louisville Cardinals. In 23, Notre
- 18:36Speaker 2: Dame was eighth, I believe. And we went to Notre
- 18:41Speaker 2: Dame and beat them. And then conveniently lost to whoever...
- 18:47Speaker 2: that we should not have lost to at home. 24, Clemson,
- 18:53Speaker 2: rank number 10 comes in. We beat them. Then we
- 18:58Speaker 2: go on the road and lose to NC State or
- 19:00Speaker 2: somebody that we were double-digit favorites. Last year, a lot
- 19:05Speaker 2: of y'all will remember this game. We went to Miami
- 19:08Speaker 2: and really shocked my number two Miami on a Friday night.
- 19:15Speaker 2: probably came back and lost to a freaking, who knows,
- 19:17Speaker 2: Sanford or somebody. And then we beat SMU, who was
- 19:22Speaker 2: like 15 or 16 or something, and we come home
- 19:24Speaker 2: and lose to Wake Forest. Now, that's not a pattern.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Would you not say that's a pattern?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a pattern. I mean, and I get where
- 19:36Speaker 3: you're going. You know, Wake is three and one. That's
- 19:40Speaker 3: a team that lost to Miami by 12. They played
- 19:43Speaker 3: the Canes as close as anybody. I don't know that
- 19:45Speaker 3: they're going to be a bad loss at the end
- 19:47Speaker 3: of the year, but I get the frustration for sure.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I mean, you beat SMU by 10.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I mean, to me, and I love Jeff Brom, I mean,
- 19:55Speaker 2: but the coach has got to take responsibility for this,
- 20:00Speaker 2: and there's something that's got to be said for– either
- 20:04Speaker 2: for not having the team ready or the team still
- 20:07Speaker 2: living on the laurels of the past weekend or whatever.
- 20:10Speaker 2: But I just wanted to throw that out there because
- 20:12Speaker 2: it's a real interesting stat. Then we go to the
- 20:16Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers. And Bieber's favorite quarterback, the 53-year-old kid, Aaron Rodgers,
- 20:25Speaker 2: who I still don't like. But yesterday he played well.
- 20:30Speaker 2: They finally started giving Warren the freaking ball. And the
- 20:35Speaker 2: defense showed up, and we beat the Bengals, which was
- 20:40Speaker 2: a good win.
- 20:40Speaker 3: That was a good win.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I was like, for B, since you always ask at
- 20:44Speaker 2: the end of the show, do we have anything on
- 20:46Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers to at least, you know, a couple weeks ago,
- 20:50Speaker 2: he was talking about he's married, and he's talking about his,
- 20:55Speaker 2: what is it, Danica Patrick, and then the other one.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it was very weird.
- 20:59Speaker 2: And I'm like, dude, leave it alone, you know? Anyway,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I love the show. Thank you, Lord, for football.
- 21:08Speaker 8: Y'all have a good one.
- 21:11Speaker 3: All right, George, see you.

- 22:37Speaker 8: Well, I've got all the videos from this morning's press
- 22:39Speaker 8: conference put up. Just finished my feature with Anthony Evans
- 22:43Speaker 8: for the day. The sideline fact that we never thought
- 22:49Speaker 8: we'd hear in a press conference was that he changed
- 22:53Speaker 8: the game around for himself Saturday against Missouri by changing
- 22:58Speaker 8: his underwear during the game. Actually, his tights. He said
- 23:01Speaker 8: he'd never worn tights in a game. I guess whatever
- 23:04Speaker 8: possessed him to wear them against Missouri, I don't know.
- 23:07Speaker 8: But he did, and he didn't produce the first half.
- 23:10Speaker 8: So he said he took it all off at halftime,
- 23:13Speaker 8: came out, had a great game. and I'm showing a
- 23:17Speaker 8: little bit of restraint in my story. I did not
- 23:20Speaker 8: include a line in there about how he's left a
- 23:23Speaker 8: whole lot of defenders having to change their drawers after
- 23:26Speaker 8: a catch and passes. Maybe that would have been pushing
- 23:29Speaker 8: the bounds of good taste, but you have fun with
- 23:32Speaker 8: it while you can here.
- 23:33Speaker 3: There's no doubt, and I think we all can agree
- 23:35Speaker 3: if you've watched three play, he definitely does that. The
- 23:38Speaker 3: layout catch that he had, I don't know that I've
- 23:41Speaker 3: seen a receiver. It's been a while. I mean, you
- 23:44Speaker 3: could maybe go to you know, Tony at Miami, but
- 23:47Speaker 3: a guy that can catch a screen pass and get
- 23:49Speaker 3: up the sideline as quickly as he can. I mean,
- 23:51Speaker 3: that's an automatic five to seven. Boy, what a player
- 23:55Speaker 3: they got with him.
- 23:57Speaker 8: Well, it's something you said there. It reflects the question
- 24:00Speaker 8: I asked to Jeff Levy and some of the players
- 24:01Speaker 8: this morning as well, too. You know, Fluff Bothwell and
- 24:04Speaker 8: Colin Wilson rightfully get their due for the number of
- 24:07Speaker 8: tackles they break or the defenders they drag along. These
- 24:10Speaker 8: wide receivers do the same thing. You noticed the other night,
- 24:13Speaker 8: Missouri's most physical team states played so far. They made
- 24:16Speaker 8: them work for everything they got, a lot of first contact,
- 24:20Speaker 8: and the Bulldog receivers generally didn't go down. They spun
- 24:24Speaker 8: off for extra yards, or they even just physically took
- 24:27Speaker 8: the defender along. And the thing about all those is
- 24:30Speaker 8: that extra two or three yards there, you know, Libby
- 24:32Speaker 8: calls it a plus two, it really made a bunch
- 24:37Speaker 8: of mediocre first-down plays into makeable second down plays because
- 24:42Speaker 8: they simply came back, and what if they don't make
- 24:45Speaker 8: anything on that first down? Little things like that are
- 24:48Speaker 8: where I see a difference in this offense. Yeah, we
- 24:51Speaker 8: all look at the explosive plays, and they are the headliner,
- 24:55Speaker 8: but there's just not many negative plays or unproductive plays
- 24:59Speaker 8: by this offense either, especially once Camario settles down, gets
- 25:03Speaker 8: in a groove with his receivers, and the line figures
- 25:06Speaker 8: out how they want to attack the defenders as well.
- 25:09Speaker 8: So to me, that's kind of a side story on
- 25:11Speaker 8: this team. And Evans also said they've actually practiced that.
- 25:14Speaker 8: They put them in the running back drills. They have
- 25:16Speaker 8: to run through those pads, which smack them pretty hard
- 25:19Speaker 8: when they're carrying the ball, even in places, like he said,
- 25:21Speaker 8: where you don't want to get hit. But it prepares
- 25:23Speaker 8: them for the moments in the game, and that's how
- 25:26Speaker 8: he was able to make that big catch on a very,
- 25:28Speaker 8: very hard landing.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Speaking with David Murray, Gene's page, 247sports. com. Talking Mississippi State,
- 25:34Speaker 3: they get a 31-24 victory over Missouri. They'll host Alabama
- 25:37Speaker 3: coming up Saturday. Uh, David, again, the toughness of this team, uh,
- 25:42Speaker 3: you know, and, and just the, this team's going to
- 25:44Speaker 3: play four quarters, right? I mean, we saw kind of
- 25:45Speaker 3: an inverse of last week with South Carolina. They go
- 25:48Speaker 3: up 14, they give up 24 unanswered. They continue to battle.
- 25:52Speaker 3: They don't get flustered and they close it out with
- 25:54Speaker 3: a win. And that to me is one of the
- 25:55Speaker 3: more impressive things with this team.
- 25:58Speaker 8: Well, it really is. Um, I'm not going to say
- 26:00Speaker 8: it and get flustered a little bit because you still
- 26:02Speaker 8: see how the that was not a pretty way to conclude.
- 26:06Speaker 8: You've got to come away with three points there. And boy,
- 26:09Speaker 8: that three points would have looked a whole lot better
- 26:12Speaker 8: by the end of the third quarter as well. They
- 26:14Speaker 8: still overcame that, just like they overcame the end of
- 26:16Speaker 8: the first half of South Carolina as well. My only
- 26:19Speaker 8: concern there, and I hate to harp on the negatives
- 26:21Speaker 8: in those regards, is simply that you can't do those
- 26:24Speaker 8: things against a better opponent. Missouri is what you'd call
- 26:28Speaker 8: a pure opponent, and State was able to take them
- 26:31Speaker 8: on physical terms and beat them and in front of
- 26:33Speaker 8: a really genuinely electric setting there, and a pretty feisty
- 26:37Speaker 8: Missouri team as well. There were some emotions down there
- 26:40Speaker 8: on the field, and Missouri just plays that way, and
- 26:43Speaker 8: they kind of get you out of the game, get
- 26:44Speaker 8: a little chippy sometimes. The state kept the composure, made
- 26:47Speaker 8: it happen. But now you're going against an Alabama team
- 26:50Speaker 8: that it's not the Alabama of the past, obviously. I've
- 26:55Speaker 8: got a Tide reporter who will be calling in sometime soon,
- 26:57Speaker 8: wants to talk about the history of the series, and
- 26:59Speaker 8: as probably the only still working member of the crew
- 27:02Speaker 8: that saw Mississippi State's one win over Bear Bryant as
- 27:05Speaker 8: well as the one win over Nick Saban. I think
- 27:08Speaker 8: I'm qualified to comment there. But this is a game
- 27:13Speaker 8: I think State's got a really good chance. And I
- 27:17Speaker 8: will tell you this, too. I asked the PR director.
- 27:20Speaker 8: I thought things were maybe a little tense this morning
- 27:22Speaker 8: in the press conference. He said, no, it wasn't that.
- 27:24Speaker 8: He said it's just focus, that they immediately shut out
- 27:28Speaker 8: the Missouri game and turned entirely on Sunday morning to
- 27:31Speaker 8: Alabama game. Now that is a kind of maturity that
- 27:35Speaker 8: we haven't seen around here in a while. Let's be
- 27:37Speaker 8: blunt about it. We have not seen a team able
- 27:39Speaker 8: to come off a big emotional win like that and
- 27:42Speaker 8: focus quickly on the next game, which could and should
- 27:45Speaker 8: be even bigger.
- 27:47Speaker 3: There's no doubt. Alabama comes to Davis-White Stadium this Saturday.
- 27:50Speaker 3: David Camario-Taylor with a little limp during the ballgame. Fluff
- 27:53Speaker 3: Bothwell out of the ballgame for a bit. Also, on
- 27:56Speaker 3: the defensive side, you've got a couple players with Smith
- 27:59Speaker 3: and some others. I know it's probably too early on
- 28:02Speaker 3: a Monday, but any updates on health of players?
- 28:06Speaker 8: We did not get any update on Isaac Smith. It
- 28:08Speaker 8: was asked directly, and Levy said he'll let the SEC's
- 28:11Speaker 8: availability report speak for him. I think he'll be able
- 28:14Speaker 8: to go this weekend. I'm not concerned at all about Camario,
- 28:17Speaker 8: and I'm absolutely not concerned about Fluff because anytime Fluff
- 28:21Speaker 8: Boswell comes off to be a limping or a little
- 28:23Speaker 8: slower gimpy, here's the words you got to remember. Think
- 28:27Speaker 8: about the other guy because that's the one who's really
- 28:30Speaker 8: going to be hurting after whatever contact that was. No,
- 28:33Speaker 8: Fluff's going to be fine, but you saw what Colin
- 28:35Speaker 8: Wilson could do when he comes in in those situations.
- 28:38Speaker 8: He's just a very underrated part of this offense in
- 28:41Speaker 8: some ways, even better in the passing game as far
- 28:43Speaker 8: as making moves after the catch like that. So it's
- 28:48Speaker 8: just fascinating to see the toys, if you want to
- 28:51Speaker 8: put it that way, that Jeff Libby has to work
- 28:53Speaker 8: with on this offense, that Camario Taylor has to work with.
- 28:57Speaker 8: And I've already done some numbers and things like that.
- 29:00Speaker 8: He's only started six games. He's only 19 years old.
- 29:03Speaker 8: And already Camario Taylor has more offense than some entire
- 29:06Speaker 8: Mississippi State teams have had in the past. That is really,
- 29:11Speaker 8: it's almost happening so fast and so easily, you know,
- 29:15Speaker 8: in quotation marks, that you're almost not even appreciating just
- 29:18Speaker 8: how remarkable the This quick development by Camario Taylor really is.
- 29:23Speaker 3: No, you're right. It's one of those moments, and we
- 29:26Speaker 3: say this a lot in sports, they kind of slow
- 29:27Speaker 3: it down and try to absorb it because it's one
- 29:30Speaker 3: of those deals you'll look back at it and go, wow,
- 29:32Speaker 3: that was that was a heck of a run um
- 29:34Speaker 3: let me ask you about uh the weather um it
- 29:38Speaker 3: looks like it might rain do we know i mean
- 29:40Speaker 3: i know that you can't control the weather but it
- 29:42Speaker 3: looks like i'm looking at 80 85 chance for saturday
- 29:45Speaker 3: hopefully that will you know dissipate yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 8: I think the rain is going to move through a
- 29:49Speaker 8: little faster but at this point i don't want to
- 29:54Speaker 8: rain obviously because this is a team built on speed
- 29:57Speaker 8: and i think That certainly would play to State's favor, but,
- 30:00Speaker 8: you know, what the heck? Both sides have to play
- 30:02Speaker 8: in the rain. It's been a while. I know I'm
- 30:05Speaker 8: looking at my yard right now thinking, yeah, I could
- 30:08Speaker 8: probably use a little water on this thing right now
- 30:10Speaker 8: as well. But, no, I'm just going to say that
- 30:13Speaker 8: the team is going to take that totally out of
- 30:15Speaker 8: their preparations, much like they take the ranking out of
- 30:19Speaker 8: their thoughts there. It's nice. Maybe they'll rain. Maybe it won't.
- 30:23Speaker 8: But you can prepare regardless.
- 30:25Speaker 2: So.
- 30:26Speaker 8: I would rule that out entirely. Just don't even put
- 30:29Speaker 8: that in fact you're thinking. Just show up because this
- 30:31Speaker 8: is going to be, you know, Saturday night was what
- 30:34Speaker 8: Scott Field and Davis Way Stadium were like in the
- 30:37Speaker 8: great days of Dak and Mullen or Jackie Sherrill years
- 30:41Speaker 8: and those things. Here's a chance to get it back
- 30:43Speaker 8: on an extended stretch now against an old rival, which
- 30:46Speaker 8: State hasn't played in a couple years now. So we're
- 30:49Speaker 8: going to renew acquaintances with a crosstown team. By the way,
- 30:52Speaker 8: I just saw that Alabama was going to drive in
- 30:54Speaker 8: that morning and I don't expect any help from the
- 30:57Speaker 8: police in reforming guard or slowing down the home state
- 31:00Speaker 8: team coming. Unlike when we go the other way, but hey,
- 31:05Speaker 8: what the heck. If everybody shows up on time, the
- 31:08Speaker 8: game's going to go off at 11 on Saturday morning,
- 31:11Speaker 8: and let's see what next step Mississippi State can take
- 31:15Speaker 8: in its road in this comeback that Jeff Levy and
- 31:18Speaker 8: the staff and this team are putting together.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Let me ask you one more question. I appreciate your time.
- 31:22Speaker 3: On the time of the game, and again, there's nothing
- 31:24Speaker 3: you can do about it, Um, you know, these networks
- 31:27Speaker 3: have changed the way they do things. Uh, you know,
- 31:29Speaker 3: the Fox really kind of started this with taking, you know,
- 31:32Speaker 3: the big 10 noon, you know, big 10 noon kickoff
- 31:34Speaker 3: or whatever they called it. Um, I mean, you've got
- 31:37Speaker 3: the open windows in the afternoon where you got LSU
- 31:39Speaker 3: and McNeese last week, we saw Tennessee and Texas kickoff,
- 31:42Speaker 3: you know, in that 11 o'clock hour. Um, any thoughts
- 31:45Speaker 3: on that? We can't do anything. This is just us
- 31:46Speaker 3: spitballing about the times here. You know, your brain goes,
- 31:49Speaker 3: this will be a great night game. but it's teed
- 31:51Speaker 3: up as the biggest game in the conference, which now
- 31:53Speaker 3: they're moving to, ABC moves to that noon Eastern slot.
- 31:58Speaker 8: Well, look at it this way. I mean, Ole Miss, Florida,
- 32:00Speaker 8: why was that not an evening game?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 8: Texas, Tennessee, for that matter as well. So I don't
- 32:06Speaker 8: know what's going through the network's people's minds. And, of course,
- 32:09Speaker 8: obviously you and I have no control over that. Should
- 32:12Speaker 8: this be an evening game? Absolutely. It's not. And all
- 32:15Speaker 8: the more reason, too, because evening games do tend to
- 32:18Speaker 8: favor the home teams. Visiting teams tend to like these
- 32:22Speaker 8: 11 o'clock games as well, so maybe tip a little
- 32:24Speaker 8: bit of advantage to Alabama. Less time to hang around
- 32:27Speaker 8: and think about things. Just get over, get dressed, play ball.
- 32:31Speaker 8: So it's frustrating in that regard, and I know it's
- 32:34Speaker 8: frustrating for fans. The SEC, you'd think, would have a
- 32:37Speaker 8: little more input on what the schedule is going to
- 32:41Speaker 8: be like. But again, Jake, as you and I both
- 32:45Speaker 8: have learned many years ago, TV schedules our lives for
- 32:48Speaker 8: us these days.
- 32:49Speaker 3: There's no doubt. There's no doubt. Make sure to get
- 32:50Speaker 3: them at jeanspage247sports. com. They'll keep you teed up all the
- 32:54Speaker 3: way to kickoff and beyond. David, thank you so much.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Have a great week, and we'll do it again soon.
- 32:58Speaker 8: And as always, a reminder that Brian O'Connor's baseball team
- 33:02Speaker 8: is scrimmaging. I got to watch him yesterday. Sean James
- 33:05Speaker 8: drops a grand slam out of the yard and a
- 33:08Speaker 8: blowout win for his team in the scrimmage games. And
- 33:11Speaker 8: I just like what I've seen from the Diamond Dogs.
- 33:13Speaker 8: The three scrimmages I've watched, I think they're definitely faster
- 33:16Speaker 8: than They certainly swing for more power this year. Eh,
- 33:20Speaker 8: still maybe some, I say faster. I'm not sure about
- 33:22Speaker 8: the base running talent at this moment. Defense has taken shape,
- 33:26Speaker 8: I think, quite nicely. So, a lot to get excited about,
- 33:30Speaker 8: and there'll be open scrimmages again this weekend at Doodle
- 33:33Speaker 8: Field on Friday and Sunday. So, uh, Keep tuned for
- 33:38Speaker 8: that and a chance to watch these guys go at
- 33:40Speaker 8: it and get an advanced look at the 2027 Bulldog

- 35:10Speaker 3: With Jake Wimberly.
- 35:11Speaker 7: What's the score?
- 35:12Speaker 1: He's got that along with the hottest sports stories of
- 35:14Speaker 1: the day on ESPN 105.9 The Zone and online at TheZone1059. com.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Appreciate David Murray jumping in here, talking Mississippi State. Big
- 35:34Speaker 3: one against Bama coming up Saturday, 11 o'clock kick. Hey,
- 35:37Speaker 3: on this day in 1951, Norm Van Brocklin threw it
- 35:40Speaker 3: for an NFL record, 554 yards, the closest anyone has
- 35:44Speaker 3: come since the 527. Matt Schwab and Warren Moon did it.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Believe it or not, Van Brocklin threw for 491 more
- 35:53Speaker 3: yards than his opponent, the New York Yanks, the greatest
- 35:56Speaker 3: difference in NFL history. So that is a big differential
- 36:01Speaker 3: there in passing.
- 36:03Speaker 5: All right.
- 36:04Speaker 3: We're brought to you by Dr.
- 36:05Speaker 6: Pepper.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Get over there. Click on the link on the zone1059. com.

- 36:21Speaker 3: tickets to the college football playoff and the national championship.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Take Dr. Pepper with you.
- 36:24Speaker 2: All right.
- 36:25Speaker 3: I looked at my picks. I was four and six.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Even I looked at it. Four and six. So they
- 36:28Speaker 3: said three and seven. I said five and five is
- 36:30Speaker 3: four and six. So I missed a hook on one game.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I think you're still giving yourself credit for an extra game.
- 36:38Speaker 3: No, the games are out there. You can go back
- 36:39Speaker 3: and look at them.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Stay in three and seven.
- 36:44Speaker 3: One in the NFL. You have disputed. Three in college. Hey,
- 36:46Speaker 3: it was under 500. It was under 500. So it
- 36:49Speaker 3: got punched around a little bit. All right, let's see here. Mr. DX,
- 36:52Speaker 3: talk about David. Did he say draws?
- 36:54Speaker 5: Yeah, he did.
- 36:55Speaker 3: He did. Or draw or... I say draws.
- 36:57Speaker 7: Drawers.
- 36:58Speaker 3: How do you say?
- 36:58Speaker 1: Change draws.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Change draws. Possum neck Joe. I lay out for the
- 37:04Speaker 3: pass every day. That's in reference to Anthony Evans' catch
- 37:08Speaker 3: the other night. You think Joe? Joe probably does, doesn't he?
- 37:11Speaker 3: I'll give it to Joe.
- 37:12Speaker 7: He does.
- 37:13Speaker 3: And JC. I thought he was coming back in the
- 37:15Speaker 3: 5 o'clock hour. He's back here at the end of
- 37:17Speaker 3: hour number one. In addition to the above, I love
- 37:19Speaker 3: that Jake was championing that he was Five and five
- 37:25Speaker 3: on a weekend. Spoiler alert, that was also not winning.
- 37:27Speaker 3: That's break even. JC, you got to play the whole season.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Gator Matt.
- 37:33Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 37:34Speaker 3: I have kept all those receipts. What is he talking about?
- 37:37Speaker 1: Oh, who are you, Coach Prime? I've kept the receipts. Oh,
- 37:44Speaker 1: Gator Matt feeling himself today.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Careful. You got to go to Missouri this weekend. That
- 37:49Speaker 3: could be a little trap game there. Could be.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Could it?
- 37:52Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 37:54Speaker 3: You know, looking at the first month, Texas hasn't looked great,
- 38:01Speaker 3: have they? No, not at all. They've not looked good.
- 38:05Speaker 3: They're undefeated. Indiana, Kurt Cignetti, did you hear what he
- 38:10Speaker 3: said last week? He was talking about people griping about
- 38:14Speaker 3: some of his fans, and I can't remember. I have
- 38:16Speaker 3: to go back and find the quote. Just the griping
- 38:19Speaker 3: by some of the fan base, and he said, let's
- 38:20Speaker 3: not forget who you were before I got here or
- 38:22Speaker 3: something like that. Oh, yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Whoa.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Signetti was. And I'm paraphrasing that. Yes, Signetti was.
- 38:28Speaker 1: God, you know what's so sad?
- 38:33Speaker 6: See, it's comments like that where he continues to show what.
- 38:38Speaker 1: A jerk he is. God, that dude sucks. I hate him.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I hate his face.
- 38:44Speaker 6: I hate everything about his egotistical soul. but he's not wrong.
- 38:50Speaker 6: That's the sad part about it. He's not wrong when
- 38:53Speaker 6: he says it.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Let me see if I can find the exact quote,
- 38:57Speaker 3: but you know, Northwestern gave them all they wanted. They
- 38:59Speaker 3: did not play well. And look, that's going to happen.
- 39:03Speaker 3: I don't know why this thing won't go any further
- 39:04Speaker 3: than that. Um, that's going to happen. I'll have to
- 39:09Speaker 3: try to find what he said last week. Um, let's
- 39:13Speaker 3: see here. Let me just see if this little search here,
- 39:15Speaker 3: I'll give it to me. Um, Oh, here it is.
- 39:19Speaker 3: On fan expectations, he said, what are we, 29-2? When
- 39:24Speaker 3: I came, I saw the pictures. 10,000 people in the stands.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Don't bitch about being 30. about a 38 to nothing
- 39:31Speaker 3: win so he said and he did say in another
- 39:34Speaker 3: piece he said don't forget who you were before I
- 39:36Speaker 3: got here and there's that face there it is right
- 39:43Speaker 3: there Kurt Cignetti so I don't know how good I
- 39:46Speaker 3: mean how good is Georgia I'll tell you what we
- 39:51Speaker 3: do know. Oklahoma's bad. Texas A & M' s not good.
- 39:55Speaker 3: And they've got $ 40 million rosters. Let's see. So Gator
- 39:58Speaker 3: Mattis kept receipts. Buffalo Chris, I won more on one bet.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Let's see. What did Chris do here? Let's see. He's
- 40:10Speaker 3: got a parlay plus $ 12. 75. He took the Lions over Detroit.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Detroit.
- 40:17Speaker 3: These are Moneyline bets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Cowboys, Bills,
- 40:22Speaker 3: and Jags. And it looks like you might have cleaned up.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Buffalo Chris, good job. DX, are you up or down
- 40:31Speaker 3: on your picks? Right now, I'm down, DX. But, I mean,
- 40:33Speaker 3: it's still early. This has been a tough year for
- 40:35Speaker 3: everybody so far, one month in. But, I mean, look.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Just look at it like this. It's a football game.
- 40:41Speaker 3: We just got through the first quarter. And we're down
- 40:43Speaker 3: just a little bit. You know, we got down early
- 40:45Speaker 3: in the first quarter. We came back a little bit.
- 40:47Speaker 3: So we're down in the first quarter. We're going to
- 40:48Speaker 3: come back and have a great second quarter. That's what
- 40:51Speaker 3: good teams do, right? That's what good teams do. All right,
- 40:53Speaker 3: let's see here. Miami is a heavy favorite over Clemson.
- 40:57Speaker 3: They are going to destroy Clemson. Miami, courtesy of Polymarket,
- 41:01Speaker 3: 88% of the money coming in on the Canes. And
- 41:07Speaker 3: Mississippi State is 4-0 against the spread this year. Something
- 41:10Speaker 3: to think about. Something to think about. So is Duke
- 41:13Speaker 3: and Georgia. But again... I put out my eyeball test
- 41:17Speaker 3: rankings today, and this is what my rankings are, no analytics.
- 41:20Speaker 3: In the SEC, Georgia No. 1, Florida No. 2, Bama 3,
- 41:24Speaker 3: Texas 4, State 5, Ole Miss 6, followed by LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, Auburn, Kentucky, Vanderbilt,
- 41:31Speaker 3: South Carolina, Texas A & M, and Oklahoma right at
- 41:34Speaker 3: the bottom with Arkansas. We're brought to you by Live Oaks.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Go to liveoaksgc.com. Get out, play some golf, get you
- 41:39Speaker 3: a membership. Don't forget about Roosevelt's. Get out and grab
- 41:41Speaker 3: something to eat either pre- or post-your-round 9 or 18
- 41:43Speaker 3: at Live Oaks. Back in a bit.
