- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten or filling
- 0:05Speaker 1: in for Mark. Here's Ken Rosatto on a Black Friday,
- 0:09Speaker 1: hoping you had a good Thanksgiving, that you're nice and full.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Isn't it Somethinghow on Thanksgiving you crave and eat so
- 0:15Speaker 1: many foods you just don't eat the rest of the year.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's like, honestly, in the middle of July, do you
- 0:20Speaker 1: ever say, you know, I could go for a good
- 0:22Speaker 1: whole berry cranberry sauce? Right? You just don't. You don't
- 0:26Speaker 1: say in September, I want me some stuff and you
- 0:30Speaker 1: just don't. But yet when November rolls around and you
- 0:33Speaker 1: start thinking Thanksgiving, you just have to have that stuffing
- 0:36Speaker 1: and such good. So I went to my brother and
- 0:38Speaker 1: sister in law's house and everybody kind of contributed something
- 0:42Speaker 1: to the meal. My sister in law is the most
- 0:44Speaker 1: amazing cook. Just Carolyn, I love you. She's just unbelievable.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Her mom Weezy, we call her Louise. She's an amazing cook.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Just everybody, just the food there literally was not one
- 0:56Speaker 1: day shit I was saying, I'll go for this and
- 0:58Speaker 1: not that. Who's one of those deals? And she had
- 1:00Speaker 1: one of those great feasts I'm sure you probably had
- 1:02Speaker 1: something similar with your family. If I give us a
- 1:05Speaker 1: call and let us know. Eight hundred three to two
- 1:08Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 1:11Speaker 1: seven ten. It's a day like this, we don't have
- 1:13Speaker 1: to be super heavy into politics. We get a little
- 1:15Speaker 1: light like Vincent from Brooklyn. I love Vincent. Vincent called
- 1:18Speaker 1: in and just shared his his recipe for stuffing, which
- 1:22Speaker 1: sounded great. Sorry we had to cut him short there
- 1:24Speaker 1: at the top of the hour with the news, but
- 1:26Speaker 1: that sounded yummy, and going to check that recipe out myself.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I got a lot of talk about today. For those
- 1:31Speaker 1: that remember me, I used to be at Channel seven.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I was there for twenty years as the morning and
- 1:36Speaker 1: for about sixteen of those years also the noon anchor.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I also did the morning and noon show at Channel five.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Ken Rosatto, you may or may not remember me. Just
- 1:45Speaker 1: recently talking to my dear friend Laurie Stokes used to
- 1:47Speaker 1: be with me at the Channel seven and then she
- 1:49Speaker 1: went on to Channel five on her own. But Laurie
- 1:53Speaker 1: shared with me her family's a stuffing recipe which I
- 1:56Speaker 1: made yesterday, and her stuffing is one of the most
- 2:00Speaker 1: delicious stuffings I've ever tasted. It's a combination of whole
- 2:04Speaker 1: grain whole wheat bread. And you say, can I'm not
- 2:06Speaker 1: into that whole wheat Believe me. It works in the recipe.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Mixed with chunks of like a white sour dough, you
- 2:13Speaker 1: toast them together with lots of sage time and tons
- 2:17Speaker 1: of rosemary, little butter spray we use toast them off.
- 2:22Speaker 1: You mix it with some turkey and chicken stock that
- 2:25Speaker 1: has garlic and rosemary infused in it, and then you
- 2:28Speaker 1: bake that off in the oven with tons of butter
- 2:31Speaker 1: and celery and onion. I'm telling you, like right now,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I just want to say, all right, put the put
- 2:35Speaker 1: tape on. I'm going on beat more of this stuffing.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's that good. We also, if you can check out
- 2:40Speaker 1: the website, I have thefood dude dot us. The food
- 2:44Speaker 1: dude dot us tons of recipes, including Thanksgiving recipes up there,
- 2:47Speaker 1: so check it out. And for those who don't realize
- 2:51Speaker 1: what I'm doing these days, a channel called on New
- 2:53Speaker 1: Jersey o n NJ dot com Monday through Friday. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: that's how I keep myself busy when I'm not privileged
- 2:59Speaker 1: to do the radio. Here for the great Mark Simone,
- 3:01Speaker 1: So lots of talk about today. Give us a call.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Today is Black Friday. Of course you know of any
- 3:06Speaker 1: hot bargains you could share with us. We have a
- 3:08Speaker 1: guy coming up a little later this hour. His name
- 3:10Speaker 1: is Fisher. He is an IT digital expert, so he's
- 3:14Speaker 1: into cyber stuff and he is going to tell us
- 3:17Speaker 1: about some Cyber Monday deals, which it feels like Black
- 3:21Speaker 1: Friday sort of fuses into melds into Cyber Monday. You
- 3:26Speaker 1: notice that I'm noticing fewer and fewer people are going
- 3:29Speaker 1: to the malls on Black Friday. Instead they just start
- 3:32Speaker 1: their Cyber Monday shopping on Black Friday and just take
- 3:35Speaker 1: care of things that way. But we'd like to hear
- 3:37Speaker 1: what you do. So it's eight hundred and three to
- 3:38Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten along the holiday mood? Yet?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Did you hear that the Big Holiday light show at
- 3:45Speaker 1: Sachs has returned this year after disappearing last year? So
- 3:49Speaker 1: the light show takes place every ten minutes five pm
- 3:53Speaker 1: to eleven pm through January fourth at sacks Fith Avenue.
- 3:57Speaker 1: For those coming from out of town, sacks Fith Avenue's
- 3:59Speaker 1: fifth ave between That makes sense, right, Sacksmith Avenue between
- 4:03Speaker 1: forty ninth and fiftieth Streets. It's right by the Rockefeller
- 4:06Speaker 1: Center tree. So while you're there, go see the tree
- 4:09Speaker 1: and go to Sacks see the beautiful light show. It
- 4:11Speaker 1: just makes you feel good to be a New Yorker,
- 4:14Speaker 1: no matter what your politics, when you come and see
- 4:16Speaker 1: that for the holidays. Some sad news, of course, one
- 4:20Speaker 1: of the two National Guard members shot in the targeted
- 4:23Speaker 1: ambush by the White House died yesterday. She was just
- 4:25Speaker 1: twenty years old, and please remember her name and your
- 4:29Speaker 1: prayers and remember her family. Sarah Beckstrom. Sarah Beckstrom, twenty
- 4:35Speaker 1: year old young woman, volunteered to work the holiday week
- 4:38Speaker 1: so other National Guards member National Guard members could be off.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And there was another guardsman who was shot along with her,
- 4:46Speaker 1: Andrew Wolfe. He was only twenty four. He's in critical condition.
- 4:49Speaker 1: He's fighting for his life, according to President Trump. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 1: a person driving by the attack on Wednesday with a
- 4:56Speaker 1: rolling dash cam claims to have recorded the gunshots. If
- 5:00Speaker 1: you feel this is too much, then just kind of
- 5:01Speaker 1: cover years for a second. But here's the sound that
- 5:04Speaker 1: this person claims were the bullets. I mean, that's terrifying.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That was the moment where apparently the attack took place,
- 5:15Speaker 1: so we pray for the victims, we pray for their families.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And the shooter is identified as twenty nine year old
- 5:22Speaker 1: rock Manula Loachonwall, an Afghan national from Washington State, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: the motive not yet determined, but he may have been
- 5:29Speaker 1: mentally unstable. That doesn't excuse anything. He was shot by
- 5:34Speaker 1: a nearby National Guard member and is hospitalized in serious condition,
- 5:38Speaker 1: but it looks like he'll survive. President Trump criticized Joe
- 5:42Speaker 1: Biden on this, saying the suspect was flown to the
- 5:44Speaker 1: US under the Biden administration. Trump confirmed the suspect arrived
- 5:49Speaker 1: in the US under a Biden era program that allowed
- 5:51Speaker 1: Afghan nationals to enter into the country, and a reporter
- 5:54Speaker 1: made the mistake yesterday of asking why the President is
- 5:57Speaker 1: blaming Biden for this attack because they let him in.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person because they
- 6:03Speaker 1: came in on a plane along with thousands of other
- 6:07Speaker 1: people that shouldn't be here, and you're just asking questions
- 6:10Speaker 1: because you're a stupid person. And I would think that
- 6:13Speaker 1: a lot of people agree with the President on that
- 6:15Speaker 1: the president former President Biden, under this open borders policy
- 6:21Speaker 1: that he get. This is the best part is the
- 6:22Speaker 1: President Biden kept denying it was an open borders policy. Meanwhile,
- 6:26Speaker 1: Fox News was the only news channel at one point,
- 6:28Speaker 1: then later Newsmax who went down to the border and
- 6:31Speaker 1: you just see hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people
- 6:34Speaker 1: every hour just streaming across. And then you'd cut they
- 6:37Speaker 1: do a split screen and they'd cut to majorcas testifying
- 6:40Speaker 1: before Congress saying the border is secure, the border is secure,
- 6:43Speaker 1: the border is secure, just lying ballface, lying to the
- 6:47Speaker 1: congress members the border is secure, while Fox was showing
- 6:51Speaker 1: the streaming like, who are you gonna believe me or
- 6:53Speaker 1: your own lion eyes. So this went on for four years,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and that gave us anywhere from ten to twenty. Vice
- 7:00Speaker 1: President of Vance even said maybe as many as the
- 7:02Speaker 1: thirty million illegals in this country. Now, it would be
- 7:07Speaker 1: a lot worse if they were all terrible people, and
- 7:09Speaker 1: they're not, obviously, like ninety nine percent are probably wonderful people.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So I'm not trying to condemn anybody who everybody who
- 7:17Speaker 1: came here illegally, But the fact is it was just
- 7:19Speaker 1: a matter of numbers that there would be some people
- 7:22Speaker 1: sneaking in who aren't up to the best of thoughts.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Who were not coming in. They took advantage of the
- 7:29Speaker 1: opportunity to come in. And they probably weren't the greatest
- 7:33Speaker 1: people in the society from whence they came. And they
- 7:35Speaker 1: came from all over the world, by the way, not
- 7:37Speaker 1: any one specific country or any one specific culture, all
- 7:41Speaker 1: over the world. We know we have Chinese nationals, we
- 7:44Speaker 1: had Egyptians, we had Italians. We had people from all
- 7:47Speaker 1: over the world sneaking across the southern border because they
- 7:50Speaker 1: knew that that was the easy way and fly into
- 7:51Speaker 1: Mexico City, pay somebody to get us up to the border.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Then you get up to the border, sneak right in,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and you'll be in. And that's it. And the way
- 7:58Speaker 1: the Democrats have set things up in this country, it
- 8:01Speaker 1: makes it practically impossible to get rid of these people.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Trump is trying his best, but at this point, I'm
- 8:07Speaker 1: sure the Trump administration was hoping they'd have two or
- 8:10Speaker 1: three times as many people kicked out of this country
- 8:13Speaker 1: versus now. And I love how you have so many
- 8:15Speaker 1: Americans saying, yeah, but this person was nonviolent. Why are
- 8:18Speaker 1: you getting rid of them? You know you're here illegally
- 8:20Speaker 1: you're here illegally. And that's that we have laws for
- 8:23Speaker 1: a reason. I know we all. I guarantee everyone listening
- 8:27Speaker 1: knows somebody who is not here legally, or knows somebody
- 8:30Speaker 1: who knows somebody once removed, twice removed, who is not
- 8:33Speaker 1: here legally. Oh, such and such has a friend who's
- 8:36Speaker 1: not here legally. And you have to understand as nice
- 8:39Speaker 1: as the person is. Right now, President Trump is making
- 8:42Speaker 1: a deal with those people. If they're non criminals and
- 8:45Speaker 1: they're just here, they're nice people, President Trump says, listen,
- 8:48Speaker 1: download the CBB app. Okay, say that you're going to
- 8:51Speaker 1: leave by a certain point, you'll be safe. At that point,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you have to guarantee you'll be gone with your family.
- 8:56Speaker 1: At that point, the country will pay for your line
- 9:00Speaker 1: ticket and your family to go back to your country
- 9:03Speaker 1: of origin. And when you can show proof that you
- 9:06Speaker 1: are back in your country of origin, they will send
- 9:09Speaker 1: you the US government a check for one thousand dollars.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I mean, no other country on the planet does that.
- 9:15Speaker 1: And then once you've done all that, you can now
- 9:17Speaker 1: legally apply and you can use as part of your argument.
- 9:21Speaker 1: While I was in the United States, I worked for
- 9:24Speaker 1: these people or I did this, and they'll write a
- 9:26Speaker 1: letter for me that will help you along the process.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So there's a way to come back legally and become
- 9:32Speaker 1: part of the fabrics of our society, you know. So
- 9:35Speaker 1: it's not that every single person who's not here legally
- 9:38Speaker 1: the President just doesn't like them because they're foreign born. No. No,
- 9:42Speaker 1: we have a system to come into this country so
- 9:45Speaker 1: people can come here and integrate into society and become Americans.
- 9:51Speaker 1: As opposed to bringing your culture and keeping your culture
- 9:54Speaker 1: exactly as is. Your culture should contribute to the fabric.
- 9:58Speaker 1: It shouldn't become the fabric. Seven w R. The Voice
- 10:02Speaker 1: of New York is Ken Rozotto infro Mark on Black Friday,
- 10:06Speaker 1: the day after the Big Feast. I don't know if
- 10:08Speaker 1: you heard this. The National Weather Services Climate Prediction Center
- 10:12Speaker 1: says we could likely expect colder than normal weather in
- 10:16Speaker 1: the northern and northeastern US. In fact, some forecasters say
- 10:20Speaker 1: the so called polar vortex could run a little out
- 10:23Speaker 1: of control and send some of the Earth's most extreme
- 10:26Speaker 1: cold right toward us. Why an't we talking? Things would
- 10:30Speaker 1: start chilling down a lot the first week of December.
- 10:33Speaker 1: That's next week. If you're not keeping track and then
- 10:36Speaker 1: get ready for bitter cold by the second and third
- 10:39Speaker 1: weeks of December. Excuse me, I accidentally unplugged my headphones
- 10:42Speaker 1: on they bend over and plug them back in. There
- 10:44Speaker 1: were Ah, here we go. My headphones have a short
- 10:48Speaker 1: in them, and I keep wiggling the cable and then
- 10:50Speaker 1: I accidentally pulled it out. Sorry to get Technicalainia there.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I got it back all right, So it's gonna be
- 10:55Speaker 1: really cool. So by the second and third weeks of December,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you're gonna feel a real chill down. So I always
- 11:01Speaker 1: talk to weather forecasting friends meteorologists about this because I'm
- 11:05Speaker 1: sort of an amateur weather geek, and every year, sometime
- 11:09Speaker 1: between mid December and mid January, we get that blast
- 11:12Speaker 1: one to two weeks of single digits overnight frigid, you know, cold,
- 11:16Speaker 1: et cetera. So it looks like it's going to be
- 11:18Speaker 1: early this year. For those that don't know about the
- 11:20Speaker 1: polar vortex, I only know about it because when I
- 11:22Speaker 1: was at Channel seven, I remember hearing meteorologist Jeff Smith
- 11:25Speaker 1: talk about it, and I said, what the hell is
- 11:27Speaker 1: the polar vortex? Never heard of that? And yeah, it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: a real thing. It's apparently the way, it's sort of
- 11:33Speaker 1: a batch of air that usually hovers over the North
- 11:37Speaker 1: Pole right in our case, and at certain times, just
- 11:41Speaker 1: because of air masses, temperatures, ocean temperatures, et cetera, sometimes
- 11:46Speaker 1: it just dips away from the pole and as it
- 11:48Speaker 1: comes down it brings with it the frigid polar air,
- 11:51Speaker 1: and they call it the polar vortex. So there you go.
- 11:55Speaker 1: The question is will snow accompany the bitter cold? Not always.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I remember another meteorologist, Bill Evans, I used to work
- 12:03Speaker 1: with Channel seven. He used to say, sometimes it's so cold,
- 12:06Speaker 1: the era is dry, and you don't have snow. It
- 12:09Speaker 1: could actually be too cold to snow. So they're not
- 12:12Speaker 1: positive yet. The good news is it'll actually be a
- 12:14Speaker 1: little warmer than usual over Florida. So in the next
- 12:17Speaker 1: few weeks, maybe you can make a little ditch down
- 12:19Speaker 1: to Florida and get away from the cold and spend
- 12:22Speaker 1: some time in the warmth. Seven ten WR the Voice
- 12:25Speaker 1: of New York. So who would you like to see
- 12:27Speaker 1: president in twenty twenty eight? Now, the constitution prevents President
- 12:31Speaker 1: Trump from holding a third term, though if you think
- 12:34Speaker 1: about it, here bear with me for a second. The
- 12:37Speaker 1: Constitution says nothing about running for a third term. It
- 12:40Speaker 1: just says you can't be a third term president. Since
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know, they passed the law since President Fdr. Franklin
- 12:48Speaker 1: Dell and Roosevelt served, he was elected four times, and
- 12:51Speaker 1: then they passed the law that you can only be
- 12:53Speaker 1: elected twice to president. But it says nothing about running
- 12:56Speaker 1: for president for a third term. So here's my theory.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I know, what would happen if President Trump, he has
- 13:03Speaker 1: a billion dollars to waste? What would happen if President
- 13:05Speaker 1: Trump were to run for a third term and if
- 13:09Speaker 1: he got elected to a third term. Now you would say, well,
- 13:12Speaker 1: you can't serve, right, But the American people would have spoken.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So would the Supreme Court get involved and negate the
- 13:19Speaker 1: will of the people. I mean, look, we have a
- 13:21Speaker 1: lot of laws of Democrats choose not to enforce, but
- 13:24Speaker 1: we let them get away with it. Right. For four years,
- 13:26Speaker 1: Joe Biden ordered border patrol agents to ignore the border
- 13:29Speaker 1: laws that we have on the books. Let anybody who
- 13:32Speaker 1: wants to stroll into the US stay. That's what brought
- 13:34Speaker 1: us the mess. We have twenty thirty million illegals in
- 13:36Speaker 1: our country living in the shadows and not paying taxes,
- 13:39Speaker 1: taking jobs away from tax paying Americans, jamming their classrooms,
- 13:43Speaker 1: congesting our highways, filling apartment rentals so you can't get
- 13:46Speaker 1: an apartment, you can't buy a house. Democrats in cities
- 13:49Speaker 1: like New York ordered police not to arrest many criminals
- 13:51Speaker 1: because they wouldn't get prosecuted. Da Alvin Bragg put out
- 13:55Speaker 1: that manifesto as he entered office, telling the city in
- 13:58Speaker 1: the world he intends on not prosecute a huge number
- 14:00Speaker 1: of crimes to kind of set the record straight for
- 14:04Speaker 1: groups that were unfairly punished in the past. Now we
- 14:06Speaker 1: have to go the other way. Even though these people
- 14:08Speaker 1: had nothing to do with people fifty years ago were
- 14:10Speaker 1: going to change things. It was his way of trying
- 14:13Speaker 1: to do what he believed was correcting or wrong. So
- 14:16Speaker 1: even though duly elected legislators voted in laws that were
- 14:19Speaker 1: signed off on by a governor or a mayor, Alvin
- 14:22Speaker 1: Bragg single handedly decided, you know what, now they're not
- 14:25Speaker 1: worth enforcing, even though he took an oath to uphold
- 14:28Speaker 1: the constitution of the City of New York, State of
- 14:29Speaker 1: New York, federal government. So my point is, if democrats
- 14:32Speaker 1: can randomly choose what laws to follow and what laws
- 14:35Speaker 1: to ignore. Why can't Republicans do the same. Let President
- 14:39Speaker 1: Trump run for a third term. If a majority of
- 14:41Speaker 1: people voted vote him in, why not let him serve.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I mean, I know it sounds preposterous. Twenty five years ago,
- 14:47Speaker 1: it would have sounded preposterous to open our borders to
- 14:50Speaker 1: anybody who wanted to stroll in. It would have sounded
- 14:52Speaker 1: preposterous for local municipalities to ignore federal marijuana laws and
- 14:56Speaker 1: lets people walk down the street smoke in a joint unencumbered.
- 14:59Speaker 1: It would have sounded proposers to even discuss legalizing prostitution,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and it certainly would have sounded preposterous to legalize gay marriage.
- 15:06Speaker 1: My point is the way Democrats push forward their liberal
- 15:09Speaker 1: agenda is they start talking about it, then they let
- 15:13Speaker 1: the talk build, then to indoctrinate college students and younger
- 15:16Speaker 1: kids in school, then to push their theories on big
- 15:19Speaker 1: liberal cities. Then they bring it mainstream once they get
- 15:23Speaker 1: their sikaphant media flunkies to report on their craziness as
- 15:26Speaker 1: if it's normal. But I digress. New polls show that
- 15:31Speaker 1: previously supported twenty twenty a GOP presidential candidate front runner
- 15:35Speaker 1: VP JD. Vance may be slipping a little. McLaughlin and
- 15:38Speaker 1: Associates polling says that President Trump's son, Donald Trump Junior
- 15:43Speaker 1: may be the favorite. According to the polling in August,
- 15:46Speaker 1: Vance had a twenty point lead over Trump Junior, not
- 15:48Speaker 1: that Trump even announced he wants to run, But now
- 15:51Speaker 1: it looks like they're pretty close to neck and neck.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So who would you vote for on the Republican side
- 15:57Speaker 1: for twenty twenty eight for president? We'd love to know
- 15:59Speaker 1: what you have to say. Seven ten wr the Voice
