- 0:42Speaker 1: to give you a little bit of a bonus to
- 0:43Speaker 1: get started and get going. I do want to start
- 0:46Speaker 1: off with this right here, and that of course, is
- 0:49Speaker 1: that we are dealing with a stable cooin yield framework
- 0:51Speaker 1: that remains somewhat un resolved as going based along with
- 0:55Speaker 1: our crypto firms, are continuing to push back a little bit.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Talks are active and ongoing. There's a lot happening right now,
- 1:02Speaker 1: but this really boils down to one thing. Where does
- 1:05Speaker 1: Gary Gensler come into this? Watch this.
- 1:09Speaker 2: One of the biggest buyers now in the treasury markets
- 1:11Speaker 2: are stable coins.
- 1:12Speaker 3: How do you see this moment?
- 1:13Speaker 4: Well, I do have some concerns about what with interest
- 1:19Speaker 4: being paid on these new forms of money, stable coins,
- 1:24Speaker 4: does it undermine the banking system? Do they want to
- 1:27Speaker 4: destabilize the banking system by allowing the interest to continue
- 1:31Speaker 4: to be paid on these so called stable coins?
- 1:35Speaker 1: So there you haven't the Gensler is anti interest on
- 1:39Speaker 1: stable coins. Whether you're pro or you're anti, some of
- 1:42Speaker 1: you just want to get the clarity act across I
- 1:45Speaker 1: get it. So as you can see, not only did
- 1:46Speaker 1: it come out to fud yields, which you know where
- 1:48Speaker 1: he stands on this, but he also came out to
- 1:52Speaker 1: make a very special announcement. Is he returning? Take a look?
- 1:56Speaker 4: You know recently Simon Johnson and I started this podcast
- 2:00Speaker 4: and Consequences, and it's wonderful to be partnered up with
- 2:04Speaker 4: Simon Johnson on our new podcast, Power and Consequences. A
- 2:08Speaker 4: little old dacious.
- 2:09Speaker 2: How do you view that when we talk to investors?
- 2:12Speaker 2: I'm sure they come up to you and say, what
- 2:13Speaker 2: do I do here? Because it's so much stuff I
- 2:15Speaker 2: don't understand.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Perhaps I don't know if people are interested in what
- 2:19Speaker 1: Gary Gensler thinks about investing because he's been suppressing this
- 2:23Speaker 1: market for a very long time. And there you have it.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's the podcast. I'm not going to tell you to
- 2:29Speaker 1: go out and follow or subscribe on this one. In fact,
- 2:32Speaker 1: what I will say is, don't subscribe for this one.
- 2:35Speaker 1: This guy's been at our side for quite some time. Okay,
- 2:38Speaker 1: maybe I'm jumping to conclusions here. Maybe it's not a
- 2:41Speaker 1: bad podcast. Let's give it a chance. Let's actually play
- 2:44Speaker 1: a clip from Gary Ginsler's podcast. Listen it.
- 2:48Speaker 3: So that's Power and Consequences with Gary heed Simon.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Thank you so much for joining us.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Our US economy today, this is circa early twenty twenty six,
- 3:00Speaker 3: is being driven by two significant factors, and it's being
- 3:04Speaker 3: constrained by I want to say at least two things.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It's being driven by the big growth and investment in
- 3:14Speaker 3: the infrastructure for AI.
- 3:20Speaker 5: That's it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: That's what you're gonna give me, Gary, You're gonna give
- 3:23Speaker 1: me that. Why don't we go into what the SEC
- 3:28Speaker 1: was really doing behind closed doors. That would be a
- 3:31Speaker 1: podcast that would be what I want to listen to
- 3:34Speaker 1: this right here. No, I suggest that this podcast will
- 3:37Speaker 1: fall out of the top four thousand with any given
- 3:41Speaker 1: day and it's gone. So there you go, guys. Not
- 3:44Speaker 1: one that I'm going for for sure. Let's go over
- 3:47Speaker 1: to Clarity. I want to talk about that because there's
- 3:49Speaker 1: been a whip saw moving in this last week. As
- 3:52Speaker 1: you saw, there was no action and then all of
- 3:54Speaker 1: a sudden, a dive down here to forty seven percent
- 3:57Speaker 1: on polymarket and then a retray over the last twenty
- 4:01Speaker 1: four hours. So something is brewing now with Clarity, this
- 4:06Speaker 1: is getting interesting, guys. I want to go to a
- 4:08Speaker 1: clip real quick because this will get into a little
- 4:10Speaker 1: bit more where Tim Scott thinks we are. Take a look.
- 4:14Speaker 5: There's good news though, Cheryl. The first thing I'd say
- 4:17Speaker 5: is that we now have Republicans and Democrats working together
- 4:20Speaker 5: on language that they can agree on. The White House
- 4:24Speaker 5: agrees on it as well. We have one more step
- 4:27Speaker 5: to go. We need the industry to agree on it.
- 4:29Speaker 5: So I spoke last night with coinbase as well. Everyone
- 4:33Speaker 5: is still at the table. There is work to be done,
- 4:36Speaker 5: but I'm really excited about the fact that we finally
- 4:40Speaker 5: have Republicans and Democrats agreeing on something really important on
- 4:44Speaker 5: the yield conversation. We now have to get industry to
- 4:48Speaker 5: buy into this language. This is a threading the needle process.
- 4:51Speaker 5: It's always difficult the first time you do it, but
- 4:53Speaker 5: it gets better and better and better, and so I'm
- 4:56Speaker 5: still very optimistic.
- 4:58Speaker 1: All right, well, very optimistic there by Tim Scott. And
- 5:02Speaker 1: interesting statement that he made is that he talks at coinbase,
- 5:05Speaker 1: called them out specifically that they are still at the table.
- 5:10Speaker 1: So that means there must be some sort of understanding
- 5:14Speaker 1: that they have come to. Maybe is it already done.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Maybe that's why we're seeing this all of a sudden
- 5:19Speaker 1: spike in probability of passing. And if you look at
- 5:23Speaker 1: what fiy arcs are, it is saying remember this right
- 5:26Speaker 1: here is one of the chief policy leads over there
- 5:30Speaker 1: at coinbase, and what he's saying here is us tax
- 5:32Speaker 1: code was written for the twenty sarch century money. It
- 5:35Speaker 1: shows today coin based of course kicking off series of
- 5:38Speaker 1: laying out of the urgent case for crypto tax reform.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So have they.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Moved on already? Maybe this is already done? And it's
- 5:47Speaker 1: just a matter of maybe crossing a few teas and
- 5:50Speaker 1: dotting an eye here and there. I don't know. Let
- 5:53Speaker 1: me know in the comments what you guys think. Is
- 5:54Speaker 1: it in a position right now where they can actually
- 5:58Speaker 1: pull this thing across the line very closely on the
- 6:01Speaker 1: next moves here other things, stablecoin yield debate. Nobody is
- 6:04Speaker 1: fighting for you. I would agree with that. Let's talk
- 6:06Speaker 1: about that. This is the issue that we are facing
- 6:09Speaker 1: right now. If you look at some of the tweets
- 6:11Speaker 1: that are out there, this was Patrick Witt hitting on
- 6:14Speaker 1: this one right here. Plenty of uninformed fuds circulating social
- 6:17Speaker 1: media this week. It's all going to work out. So
- 6:19Speaker 1: he's very bullish, but he's very back and forth. I
- 6:22Speaker 1: don't know if you guys saw his previous tweet where
- 6:24Speaker 1: he was talking about, hey, sometimes the quarterback needs to
- 6:26Speaker 1: change their strategy. I think I knew who he was
- 6:29Speaker 1: talking about. But the point is is that he was
- 6:32Speaker 1: trying to position in I think on both sides, and
- 6:36Speaker 1: if you look at it right here, this is an
- 6:38Speaker 1: interesting statement from the XRP community. White House warrens coinbase
- 6:42Speaker 1: could lose its Clarity Act if it waits too long
- 6:45Speaker 1: they're pushing. When I say the XRP, I don't know
- 6:47Speaker 1: if it's the army, but there's definitely some key people
- 6:50Speaker 1: out there in the XORP community along with other communities
- 6:52Speaker 1: that are pushing coinbase to get this through, go ahead,
- 6:56Speaker 1: back off of it. But at the same time, there's
- 6:58Speaker 1: a bit of a mix in where the XRP community
- 7:02Speaker 1: stands because if you look at what the XRP lawyers
- 7:05Speaker 1: are saying, and when I say lawyers, that would be
- 7:08Speaker 1: John Deeton, the metal law man types, they are still
- 7:12Speaker 1: very anti bank right there, enemy of the American people.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I agree with that, and metal law kind of hits
- 7:18Speaker 1: on it right here. If you want the US to
- 7:20Speaker 1: be the crypto capital of the world, do not give
- 7:22Speaker 1: the big bank cartel veto authority over the market structural legislation.
- 7:27Speaker 1: This is something I know James is really passionate about,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but it's interesting to me that we are in this space. Unfortunately,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I feel like this is going to get through with
- 7:36Speaker 1: some bad maybe some bad issues for in general. You know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: if you're a yield person and you're all about gaining yields,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I think the bigger loss here is for the people
- 7:48Speaker 1: who have not even joined crypto. Yet that's what I
- 7:52Speaker 1: fear is that those who have not joined crypto, they
- 7:55Speaker 1: never had a chance to even see this or get
- 7:57Speaker 1: advantage to take advantage of it. And I think that's
- 8:00Speaker 1: one of the big losses that we're dealing with. Vladicorse
- 8:03Speaker 1: sets it right here. We must unleash the yield safely.
- 8:07Speaker 1: We're to momentous turning point for our industry of Congress
- 8:09Speaker 1: passes to Clarity Act, we finally get the regulatory certainty
- 8:12Speaker 1: we need. I agree that would be huge. So what's
- 8:15Speaker 1: hold of siding customers should earn neild from their stable
- 8:18Speaker 1: coin holdings. Remember he's already paying yield on dollars US
- 8:23Speaker 1: dollars in your Robinhood account, So we must prioritize what
- 8:27Speaker 1: matters most for America's which is value and safety he has.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I'm let to go to this clip real quick because
- 8:33Speaker 1: this will kind of lead into more of where this
- 8:36Speaker 1: may be going with Robinhood.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Take a look, our customers are very heavy into crypto.
- 8:42Speaker 2: So as crypto has fallen, of course the AUM has
- 8:45Speaker 2: fallen as well. Interesting yees, So if I looked at
- 8:48Speaker 2: it on a quarter over quarter basis, I would say, yes,
- 8:50Speaker 2: they're probably underperforming the S and P an S and P,
- 8:55Speaker 2: which isn't crypto right. However, if I go back and
- 8:58Speaker 2: look over the course of two years or three years,
- 9:01Speaker 2: which is the time horizon of most investors, is not
- 9:04Speaker 2: a quarter. It's over a long period of time, Especially
- 9:08Speaker 2: if I'm a twenty or thirty year old, which is
- 9:10Speaker 2: what we have, they significantly outperform.
- 9:14Speaker 1: They've outperformed because of the crypto and because.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And just all the other investments that they've made that
- 9:20Speaker 2: you know, have periods where they can be down for
- 9:23Speaker 2: a quarter, but you know, over the long run, that's
- 9:25Speaker 2: what they care about, which means and this is a
- 9:27Speaker 2: hard one to Paul, I don't think you and I
- 9:28Speaker 2: are going to have the answer, but that a lot
- 9:30Speaker 2: of what happens with them from here is going to
- 9:31Speaker 2: depend on what happens with crypto.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I would agree. I think a lot is on the
- 9:38Speaker 1: line right now, and maybe that is why the industry
- 9:42Speaker 1: is pushing so hard in the direction of getting clarity
- 9:45Speaker 1: through and falling on the sword when it comes to yields.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I think the question will be in a year, twelve
- 9:52Speaker 1: months out, twenty four months out, do we look back
- 9:54Speaker 1: on this and say we had a chance, and we
- 9:56Speaker 1: let it go. I don't know. However, if you look
- 10:00Speaker 1: at the performance of some of these crypto slash energy
- 10:04Speaker 1: performers since the Iranian War broke out right there, it
- 10:08Speaker 1: is ETH one of the best energy stocks apparently that
- 10:12Speaker 1: is out there, up sixteen percent. Then you have World
- 10:15Speaker 1: Energy Bitcoin up twelve, the MAGS seven even up three.
- 10:21Speaker 1: So interesting that Ethereum leading the way. Guys right here,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know what this means we are in for. I
- 10:28Speaker 1: think a next revolution. Eth will continue to be one
- 10:31Speaker 1: of the leaders out there on that and more on
- 10:33Speaker 1: this crypto boondoggle that we're dealing with around clarity as
- 10:37Speaker 1: things start to leak out and hopefully get proven this week.
