- 0:54Friend, if you know they love SMART, thank you for supporting
- 0:57us. Trigger warnings.
- 1:03Trigger warning. Colleen Hoover.
- 1:07I. Immediately know.
- 1:10Yet here we are. Because honestly, this book is
- 1:14everywhere. I see it get recommended all the
- 1:17time. Thank you.
- 1:20Just reset my brain. Abortion.
- 1:23Cheating. Child abuse.
- 1:25Child death. Violence that's from book
- 1:28trigger warnings.com I feel like there's I feel like there's so
- 1:31much more disability violence against disabled person, I guess
- 1:35is that as I think I guess violence covers it.
- 1:38Trigger warning for the most intense pygmy energy.
- 1:41Oh my God, every second of this book had me in pain.
- 1:45Literally. Pure pain.
- 1:46And the more I thought about it after I read it, the more I was
- 1:50like, everyone's crazy. Batshit crazy.
- 1:53Except crew. The child.
- 1:55He was an asshole, remember? He was still batshit crazy.
- 1:58Yeah, fuck me fucking. First of all, what kind of name
- 2:01is? Crew.
- 2:03CREU. What kind of name?
- 2:06Is Chaston. Don't get me started on Chester
- 2:10Just. I.
- 2:11Called her. How was Chester the favorite?
- 2:14I've never seen a hot Jeremy in my life.
- 2:17Never. Never.
- 2:18You know what's really funny? The new season of Love Is Blind.
- 2:21The bad guy on this season is called Jeremy.
- 2:25So that whole Jeremy energy was coming through.
- 2:27And I was like, I don't want to hear anyone talk about any
- 2:33redeeming qualities of Lowen and Jeremy.
- 2:36There you so many red flags that are sneaky hidden in there that
- 2:42it's insane. Can you believe that this was
- 2:45nominated for Best Romance in 2019?
- 2:49No. See, that's fair.
- 2:51To be fair, there is no romance. 20/19 was a horrible year.
- 2:54It was right before COVID. Started.
- 2:56It's just a. Trash file I could recommend So
- 2:59many other romances to win, surely?
- 3:01But what? Where's the romance?
- 3:03There's no romance. There is none.
- 3:07There's no eyes. Bugging out.
- 3:09Fuck, I've been completely honest.
- 3:13Carla picked this book and I got 60 pages in and I was pissed
- 3:17'cause it was boring. And I got.
- 3:19More in to where it was a bit, hmm, disgustingly abusive.
- 3:24I was pissed, but I was like, this is supposed to be a fun
- 3:27little book club. It is not fun anymore.
- 3:30Like mum pick me up. It was like, where's the fun
- 3:33car? Do you know what though?
- 3:36Every fucking time you sent me a message.
- 3:38I don't know how far you were into it, but you were like this
- 3:40is the most fucking disturbing shit I've read in my entire
- 3:43life. I'm like, bitch, you made me
- 3:46read something about someone getting Dick down by like a 10
- 3:49foot Dong getting scratched up. They're back on the rocks.
- 3:54Don't you pick that one. Oh shit.
- 3:58And I. Picked Adam 5.
- 4:00As purely 'cause I think it was funny when I messaged you that I
- 4:04was reading the abortion part. Yes.
- 4:07And obviously it hits a little home too hard when you have
- 4:11babies, right? So I was like sitting there,
- 4:14like, crying. Well, people did say they cried.
- 4:19I didn't, but I'm a psychopath. You.
- 4:21No, you're also not OK. No, you are OK.
- 4:25But it's really hard to be sympathetic towards babies if
- 4:29you don't have one on you constantly.
- 4:31True. I hate old people.
- 4:33If this was an old person, I would anytime to bring up your
- 4:37ageism, I. Swear to God.
- 4:40OK, Renee Rapp. Literally.
- 4:43Like adults, do not do it when it's coming too.
- 4:48You know what, though? I always pick the real boring,
- 4:52tragic books or you don't read reviews.
- 4:54You don't read the no synopsis. You don't?
- 4:57No. I go in blind.
- 4:58I go in with what's popular. But I.
- 5:00Tend to like the drawn out depressed.
- 5:02Real life shit. And you would prefer like a
- 5:05fantasy shit. And when it's fantasy and
- 5:08there's so much going on and everything, that's when I tune
- 5:10out and I feel like you tune out.
- 5:11When it's this real life drama. Illiterate Children's Yeah, but
- 5:15to be fair. Yeah, you love it in a.
- 5:18You're a child, don't you? There was no one in this.
- 5:22Although, although it was giving us by a story.
- 5:28To be fair to be. Fair with the fantasy that's on
- 5:31me. I sometimes throw you into a
- 5:34little too hard, too fast fantasy when you haven't read
- 5:37any. And it's because I'm so past
- 5:39immune to a fantasy. True, I've rereading it so for
- 5:42so long, so I'm just hyped for more and you're just like, this
- 5:45is too much. Can I just say it was?
- 5:48Things are straight. Up when I was just starting out,
- 5:51it was giving pen pal in the way that I was fucking confused as
- 5:54fuck. This was way better written and
- 5:57I understood what the plot was trying to do a bit more.
- 5:59Whereas when we got there I was like it was very obvious where
- 6:05it was going to go. There was no point where I was
- 6:07surprised, no. But the 1st 60 pages I think
- 6:12were just with Lowen before the meeting.
- 6:14And I'm like, what? Who is Lowen?
- 6:15Who is Verity? So let's start with Lowen.
- 6:18She's an author. She gets recruited out of the
- 6:21blue Witch. Red flag if you were.
- 6:23Lowen you'd be like. She's being recruited for this
- 6:26really super popular author who has a fiction series that hasn't
- 6:31been finished, but for some reason, mysteriously, she can't
- 6:34finish it. Yes.
- 6:35So she learns through her X slash she she's walking to a
- 6:42meeting that she has no idea about.
- 6:44Yeah, some random person dies and then she shows up on the RP
- 6:49RP, random person on the street that Hmm, I feel like was very
- 6:53unnecessary. They had got mega exploded blood
- 6:55one everywhere. I was like, yeah, this is where
- 6:57she meets Jeremy quickly. She gives her a shirt, you know,
- 7:01he's a respectful king. He's a respectful queen, even
- 7:05though I feel like he's not in any way.
- 7:07But she's going to get a ridiculous amount of money.
- 7:11They've set up for 75 K each book and there's a lot of books
- 7:14to go. Three more.
- 7:16I think it's just like what? 75 KA.
- 7:19Book. Just fire up my ChatGPT, and
- 7:22we're done. You're not giving yourself
- 7:24enough credit. Go for the go for the, go for
- 7:29the Millie, go for gold. Go for the full mill.
- 7:31Yeah, yeah. Go and, like, do something
- 7:32popular once. You might as well go full
- 7:34Millie. True.
- 7:36And he's like, what was the 1st St. you lived on?
- 7:39And like, what was your first pet's name?
- 7:41Fuck off Jeremy. I might be unusable if that's
- 7:46how I figured out my pen name. Oh, mine would sound like such.
- 7:49I have never had a normal pet name.
- 7:51True little man. I can't remember the rest, but
- 7:57they were fucking. They were a lollipop.
- 8:00Was a cat name. Who's riding under that?
- 8:03Who? Honestly.
- 8:04Die cancelled. But you can.
- 8:07Do porn or a book with that name.
- 8:09OK? Lollipop is going to be my name
- 8:11for my weird smart on random objects.
- 8:15When is that coming out? By the way, did you do the promo
- 8:19for it for real? So that you actually have an
- 8:21audience by then. Can I just bring up again me
- 8:26raging about something? Because it's been a theme in
- 8:28every book so far. Just women being dead.
- 8:32Dead. Can we just have a dead man?
- 8:35Well, we did, because not dead enough.
- 8:40What's his name? Fucking Jerry.
- 8:43His dad was dead. That's about it.
- 8:48But and the man died at the. Start.
- 8:50His brain exploded. Yeah, but it has.
- 8:52No relevance to the story. I mean, I had to be traumatized
- 8:56by this random dead man getting his head popped and I never
- 8:59heard about him again. He never came up again, no.
- 9:02He didn't matter. Well, let's move on.
- 9:08He doesn't matter. Fuck him.
- 9:11No RIP for you. No going back to dead women.
- 9:14We find out that Verity was in a car crash.
- 9:17Yeah, and she's coma and toes, pretty much.
- 9:21She's a potatoes toes. She's like coma toes.
- 9:25She's bed bound bed. Bound, She stares into space.
- 9:28Vibe. She can't eat.
- 9:30She drools. Drooling.
- 9:32She pisses herself at once. Yeah.
- 9:34Look, that's close enough to dead in my opinion, so that
- 9:36counts, yes. So she's pretty much dead.
- 9:38And then we find out that his two twin daughters died and
- 9:44fucking crew still. Alive.
- 9:46It's a misogyny, literally. It's verity's misogyny.
- 9:50Also, Loewen's mum, we find out she dies at the start, but it's
- 9:54decay because she was a shitty bum.
- 9:56Did you catch that? Yeah, she had cancer.
- 9:59She. But she was only shitty because
- 10:01she was terrified of her daughter when her daughter
- 10:04started doing weird shit in her sleepwalking.
- 10:08True. So she kind of just accepts the
- 10:11deal. Yeah, there's no thought.
- 10:14She's like, shit. I've actually got to pay rent.
- 10:17The first red flag would be the husband, Jeremy, inviting you to
- 10:20stay at the house. To quote UN quote.
- 10:22Read notes. I mean, she did have shit
- 10:26everywhere, but he could have boxed it up and shipped it to
- 10:29her. Actually, yeah, he just assumed
- 10:32she had nothing going on in her life.
- 10:34And it's like, Oh yeah, just totally move in.
- 10:36It's practically. Like you're part of the
- 10:37furniture. It's.
- 10:38Like, he does so many things like that.
- 10:39And then it's not until later you get why?
- 10:42I don't know if you picked up the little.
- 10:43Like, it was me that put your name forward.
- 10:47And I'm like, you're just as obsessed with her.
- 10:50It's Corey and him all over again.
- 10:51Like, it's both of them. They both fell in love with her
- 10:54because of her writing. And I'm like, Jerry or not.
- 10:58OK, here's my thing. We're spoiling.
- 11:00We're jumping right ahead and then we'll go back.
- 11:02Jeremy is very Corey and Lowen is very Verity.
- 11:07She's doing very Verity things, but it's hidden in there by
- 11:11Verity being worse. Well, they have so much in
- 11:14common to begin with, yes. Verity.
- 11:16Didn't even know this Lowen girl how?
- 11:18Fucking pissed, would you be if you were.
- 11:20Verity Yeah, you'd have some random girl in your house.
- 11:24Some were hitting on younger replacement.
- 11:27A younger replacement. I fucking your husband at any
- 11:32point. Also, April Verity's nurse #1
- 11:37fan of her. She clocked it day one, but who?
- 11:41Wouldn't clock that. Oh, I.
- 11:43Mean. It's Jeremy's fault.
- 11:45He made it look so bad and it's. Just so.
- 11:48Typical. Yep.
- 11:50And also stop. I have a feeling April knew
- 11:53Verity was fine. There's no must be a way.
- 11:55She must have known because she was all like them up and down.
- 12:00Yeah, I don't know. Surely you know you're you're
- 12:03spoon feeding her every 5 minutes.
- 12:05There's going to be a time where your eyes connect to hers and
- 12:08then you're. Like, sorry girl.
- 12:10Sorry girl, but if I'm getting paid, make it easy.
- 12:13If I was pretending to be someones nurse, I'd be loving it
- 12:16'cause you getting paid the same, but if I had to fucking
- 12:18wipe your Gooch. And you don't, actually.
- 12:20Need me to? I'm a bit like girl.
- 12:22The jib is up. Just pretend you have your own
- 12:25shower. I'll just sit in the corner.
- 12:26We'll lock the door and knit. I don't know.
- 12:29Fuck me. I don't know if April's in on
- 12:32it, but she's kind of. It doesn't technically matter.
- 12:34No, it doesn't. But I feel like she is.
- 12:37Yeah, it's cannon. It's cannon.
- 12:39We need a little gavel. I just feel like April's the
- 12:42smartest one out of this entire book.
- 12:44April was not here for anyone's shit.
- 12:45April was here for the paycheck, and I respect that.
- 12:48And she was here for respecting Verity.
- 12:50She was just not. About.
- 12:52It she was just here for the business.
- 12:53Like, fuck Verity, but still. Couldn't even.
- 12:58What do we really know about Lowen at the start, apart from
- 13:00she's poor, she doesn't like her mom.
- 13:02She's. Poor she's.
- 13:03Depressed, she had a situationship with her agent.
- 13:07And then? They like.
- 13:09Hooked up the 1st. Night he gave her a compliment.
- 13:11So self esteem in the trash. It's in the trash.
- 13:14But he also was really suss than Jeremy.
- 13:16And he's like, watch out for Jeremy, but also, if you're
- 13:20moving into someone's secluded mansion, yeah, I'd be like,
- 13:23watch out for anybody. And his whole family's fucking
- 13:26dead. Literally.
- 13:27Literally. This is the start of one of
- 13:29those conjuring of, like, haunted house.
- 13:31Literally. It's the start of every kind of
- 13:34Agatha Christie. Like what?
- 13:36What? You're just dumb at this point.
- 13:40You know what? Pissed me off more than
- 13:42anything, and it happened throughout the book.
- 13:45Lowen kept going. Oh, I'm scared.
- 13:48I have to leave immediately. And she would keep saying that.
- 13:52She doesn't even. Leave for fuck off she's.
- 13:55Like. In this house forever, she never
- 13:57leaves. I think the house itself is like
- 14:00haunting her a little. Bit.
- 14:02So it should She's getting sucked into the weird.
- 14:05Yeah. Family curse that's going on.
- 14:08Oh, lock your door. Go stay in a hotel.
- 14:11Just be like I'm not comfortable staying here.
- 14:13Pay for my hotel? Exactly.
- 14:15He's willing to pay for everything else He would've Fuck
- 14:20Lowen girls. Stupid girls, dumb girls dumb.
- 14:26Why are you getting the feels for a guy?
- 14:29Who's. Why just lost his two twin
- 14:34daughters recently and his wife technically in this horrible
- 14:38accident? Why?
- 14:40I don't care what manuscript you're reading, if he's the
- 14:43character in it, why are you getting the hops for the sex
- 14:46scene? With the trauma, the abuse
- 14:49extent, I would be so horrified. I know she was doing exactly
- 14:54what Corey was doing with her character, even though it's a
- 14:58manuscript. Why are you falling in love with
- 15:00Jeremy? Because you're reading him in a
- 15:02book, you're doing the same thing.
- 15:03True, This book was giving really Walmart version of Gone
- 15:08Girl. I've never oh.
- 15:10OK, so it's I've been called Thriller.
- 15:12Yeah, and the chick is psycho, but this is way less satisfying.
- 15:18Stupid. When I started reading the
- 15:20manuscript parts, I was like, Verity is a nine year old woman.
- 15:25She writes sex scenes like a 90 year old woman.
- 15:28The sex scenes scared me. I actually had no interest in
- 15:33any sex scenes. None of her.
- 15:35And Jeremy's? None of Lowen and Jeremy's.
- 15:37I actually skimmed them so quickly because they were trash.
- 15:41Why was she being? Drowned in cum.
- 15:44All the time, all the time, all the time, any time.
- 15:47She had to manipulate Jeremy. She's like, I know he loves
- 15:50having his Dicks. Yeah.
- 15:53Oh my. God.
- 15:54Oh my. God.
- 15:55She was. Spilling the tea, so at least I
- 15:57was a bit like. A jaw and hinge.
- 15:59Huh. A jaw.
- 16:00I'm. Here.
- 16:03Like this? Is.
- 16:03A horror movie. This is fun.
- 16:06Do not visualize anything in this book because you will have
- 16:08nightmares for days. I surprisingly didn't have
- 16:11nightmares, which I'm really glad about oral sex.
- 16:16This girl was addicted to sex, no doubt.
- 16:20Yeah, no doubt. Or at least the character she
- 16:23was creating in the manuscript was.
- 16:24Yeah, So Lohan's reading this and she's thinking like fangirl
- 16:30over Jerry. She she is rubbing one out to
- 16:33the manuscript. You can't tell me otherwise.
- 16:35She's sitting in that office, windows open, just staring at
- 16:39that man on the dock rubbing one out, dusty manuscript which was
- 16:43never supposed to be seen the light of day.
- 16:45You know, Also this was giving haunting Adeline because skip to
- 16:50the skip to the end, bitch. You're a writer.
- 16:52It does not take you like 6 months to read one
- 16:56autobiography. Skip to the important shit,
- 16:58bitch. And she would just what?
- 17:00Fold it back up and put it away? And like, oh, are you telling me
- 17:03you're reading some crazy traumatic Verity needs to be put
- 17:07in jail shit. And you're like, I'll just read
- 17:08another chapter tomorrow. I would have stayed up all
- 17:10fucking night same. And it would take, what, a total
- 17:13of 12 hours at Max to read the whole thing.
- 17:15Is it like a fucking 10,000 page biography?
- 17:19Calm down. Read it all in one go on the
- 17:22first night and then get out of there.
- 17:25Take it for just like, you know. What I'm going to see how it
- 17:27works. Go read it at A.
- 17:28Fucking coffee shop like a normal person?
- 17:30Exactly. Take it out of the premises,
- 17:32Yeah. And also, she was supposed to be
- 17:35working on the fictional series, which we heard nothing about, by
- 17:37the way. I was pissed about.
- 17:39Not until the end to the epilogue where she was like I.
- 17:42Read it. You're.
- 17:43Telling me that she was putting in like 8 to 10 hours of this
- 17:47new series within the back of my.
- 17:49In her mind, she's got this personalized confession.
- 17:54No, I'm reading that first, and she kept saying I'll just read a
- 17:57little bit more. I feel like I'm rummaging around
- 17:59in Verity's undie drawer. Not only was she rummaging, she
- 18:03was putting them on and rubbing one out.
- 18:05She was putting them on and rubbing them out.
- 18:07And then she was also trying to replicate bits of the
- 18:11manuscript. There was a bit where she copied
- 18:13what she was doing in the manuscript.
- 18:16Get a life, Get a life. You're telling me you you're
- 18:19red, so I'm getting a head. You're telling me you read a
- 18:25thing where she sits on her pillow, Verity humps a pillow.
- 18:29She bites the headboard. You're just going to copy that.
- 18:32You're just going to grow up on their pillows that Verity
- 18:36probably humped and bite the exact same spot on her
- 18:39headboard, and you're not going to think you're fucking crazy.
- 18:44How much sleepwalking cover Crazy because?
- 18:49Like there's no excuse. Like, fucking hell, At the
- 18:54start, when she asked for a lock, I was like, that's
- 18:56literally fair. I don't want some Creek called
- 18:59Jeremy walking in on me changing.
- 19:01And then when he acted weird about it, I was like.
- 19:05And then he he was offended that she might have been scared of
- 19:10him, like his whole family hasn't just passed away.
- 19:16Literally. Like him and the only son are
- 19:18left. That's not the creepiest thing
- 19:20in the world. That's the most creepiest thing
- 19:22in the world. You know what, though?
- 19:26So she's. Accepted that she's going to
- 19:28stay in this house. For two weeks between when she
- 19:30gets a new apartment and she's like, OK, the paycheck will hit.
- 19:33Yeah, I'll have my new apartment and I can move out.
- 19:36And by then I've already read all my notes, right?
- 19:38So she's there one night, just walking around the house.
- 19:41And then? She hears this bed going and
- 19:48then she's like, that sounds like Jeremy's humping her.
- 19:53Yeah, and she was just she was ready to call the police.
- 19:57And what she? Thought she would excuse.
- 20:00Jeremy. Literally lobbing off.
- 20:01Bury his head in front of her. I actually feel like she would
- 20:04be the one to walk upstairs and peek.
- 20:08She's such a pika. She is and she would justify it.
- 20:13She'd be like, oh, she looks. Like she was awake.
- 20:16She looked like she was happy. I've read the manuscript.
- 20:20She's a little bit of a nympho. So it's fine.
- 20:24I can't. Lowen would, but she's freaking
- 20:27out internally. This was the first time.
- 20:29She's like, I should probably get out of here.
- 20:31And then he comes up behind her like, mellow like.
- 20:35It's the. Scariest thing that happened in
- 20:39this whole book. Jump scare.
- 20:44Literally by. So yeah, Jeremy just pops up
- 20:48behind her. Get.
- 20:49This. Though he goes, yeah, that's her
- 20:51really expensive mechanical bed that moves her body around so
- 20:55she doesn't get bed sores and stuff.
- 20:57I'll turn it off if the noise is bothering you.
- 21:00Yeah, Yeah. You're gonna let your coma and
- 21:04toes, Wife. You're just gonna let her get
- 21:08bed sores because this bitch who moved in yesterday is like.
- 21:12Oh, it's a bit owl. It's a bit.
- 21:15Loud like she can't put in fucking headphones.
- 21:18She's a night owl. Anyway.
- 21:21Honestly, at this point I think we're on Red flag fucking 5000,
- 21:25which is like night one. You can't hate your wife that
- 21:29much. You're going to turn it off
- 21:30until ever this bitch decides to leave.
- 21:32She could be here forever. She's homeless.
- 21:35She could never leave. She didn't know that yet,
- 21:36though. She thought she could just.
- 21:41Not pay rent for an indefinite time and she wouldn't get
- 21:44blacklisted. This.
- 21:46Bitch. She was pre approved.
- 21:47She wasn't even approved. That's how dumb dumb this bitch
- 21:49is. She wasn't.
- 21:52The guy on the phone was like no, you're no you're on a list.
- 21:58She doesn't really bond with Crew because Crew's got this
- 22:01weird kind of vibe, and he tends to say things as if Verity's
- 22:06currently talking to him. And in the back of her mind,
- 22:08she's like, wait, Verity's the problem, right?
- 22:11Because it couldn't be Jeremy so.
- 22:13Obviously. Yeah, Verity's laugh.
- 22:15Verity's fine. She's.
- 22:17Fine, to be fair. Verity was.
- 22:21Mind fucking the shit out of Lowen and you can't tell me she
- 22:25wasn't doing it on purpose. Because there was the 1st.
- 22:29Instant. I'm sure she didn't do it on
- 22:32purpose, where she was waving to crew, but Lowen ran upstairs and
- 22:36she was like, Oh no, the fans on but the TVA off.
- 22:39And then Verity would do shit like she knew Lowen would know
- 22:43the TVA on and then she'd turn it off and then get back into
- 22:46bed. You can't tell me she wasn't
- 22:48doing that to want the shit out of her.
- 22:50Well, maybe she just wanted her to leave.
- 22:52But wouldn't you? You're already bamboozling your
- 22:55husband and your kid. Yeah, now he's an extra person.
- 22:58Yeah, that's terrified of you. So she should be.
- 23:01That's basically a replacement. You 100% you can't tell me
- 23:05Jeremy was not as obsessed. What could be that good about
- 23:10this first book of hers, this debut?
- 23:11Book this indie book. What could be that good?
- 23:14Nothing if it's the same writing style as Coho.
- 23:20OK, so my prediction at this time, I wrote this down before I
- 23:23kept reading. That was either Jeremy read her
- 23:26memoir and then got her in the car accident on purpose as
- 23:29revenge, or he was smart enough to write the memoir afterwards
- 23:35to blame Verity in her perspective for everything that
- 23:37went wrong. But he was the one who killed
- 23:40them. Which is?
- 23:41Way better ending. The way better.
- 23:45Than go. Honestly.
- 23:47You've taken some of these writers out with your ideas,
- 23:49isn't? That.
- 23:51A better idea, though. Jeremy is such a fan of writing
- 23:54that he faked the whole memoir. Lo and dum dum come along and
- 23:58read it and thought it was actually Verity at this point
- 24:02was very much. Verity's getting her revenge for
- 24:06her lack of attention, and she was getting her attention by
- 24:13being crematose. Yeah.
- 24:14Because she's a sex. Addict.
- 24:16You can't tell me she wasn't. She hated her children.
- 24:19And at this point I was like, she's getting revenge by being a
- 24:22burden. What are you basing that on it?
- 24:25OK, so at the end you have to make a decision.
- 24:27Do you believe that the real Verity is the memoir version and
- 24:32that was her real account of things?
- 24:33Or do you believe that it was the letter Verity, which was
- 24:37her? The memoir was a writing
- 24:39exercise. I have a big theory about this,
- 24:41and for me, for me, because I know it's Team Manuscript and
- 24:46Team Letter, I feel like they're the same person.
- 24:49I don't think there is a different team.
- 24:50I think if you think about the letter a lot more, it's the same
- 24:53with the book. Where you miss certain things
- 24:55about Lowen is literally Verity. They're the same person.
- 25:00They do very similar manipulative things.
- 25:02But when you take in a lot of things in the letter, she openly
- 25:05admits she drowned her daughter and then she blames it on
- 25:10Jeremy. So I feel like she wrote it as a
- 25:13way she was going to leave. And then she was trying to get
- 25:17back at Jeremy. She said something like you told
- 25:20me to take him out on the water. It wasn't that deep.
- 25:23Me as a person, if it wasn't that deep, I can stand in it
- 25:26fine. And then immediately after,
- 25:28she's like me and crew, we're going to drown.
- 25:31So why are you in the water so deep that you're going to drown
- 25:34if it's not that deep? Yeah, because she's like, oh, we
- 25:37went out further without me noticing.
- 25:39Yeah, no, I honestly think this was her trying to.
- 25:42Cover it up. Afterwards.
- 25:43Yeah. So the memoir is real.
- 25:45I reckon She tried to destroy it, remember?
- 25:48Yeah, she tried to destroy it. But I also feel like she
- 25:51admitted to everything in the letter and blamed it on Jeremy.
- 25:54Jeremy, when he read that letter, he went psychotic and he
- 25:58didn't know that was the truth until then.
- 26:00Oh, well, he didn't read the letter.
- 26:01He only read the oh, no. I mean, when he read the
- 26:03manuscript, he didn't know about it.
- 26:05And apparently, in her letter, she had already read the
- 26:08manuscript. But he hadn't, so he went full
- 26:12psycho after he read the manuscript.
- 26:14You know what's hilarious? Jeremy was able to, in one
- 26:17sitting, read the manuscript. But Owen took.
- 26:20This entire book, yeah. But I'm like, there is no way
- 26:24the letter is real if he had that reaction when he read the
- 26:27manuscript. Also, why would someone commit?
- 26:32To. Method acting their entire life
- 26:36through this manuscript. But then she did, because she
- 26:39pretended to be injured. For.
- 26:41Ages as well. So I'm I'm like, what?
- 26:43There was like an interview of Colleen Hoover and she said she
- 26:47was confused by writing it. But she reckons very.
- 26:50Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:51She was confused from writing perspectives, but she believes
- 26:54Verity is evil and I OK, cool, I agree because there is no if
- 26:59your kid, OK if your daughter died and you had that kind of
- 27:04biography. Wouldn't you fucking?
- 27:05Burn it? Wouldn't you feel guilty?
- 27:07Yeah, but instead, she didn't feel guilty.
- 27:10She went. And yeah, I love that the author
- 27:13can't even. Claim she can't even she's like.
- 27:16So anyway, going back to the start, she's there like one
- 27:20night. Lo.
- 27:23And he starts calling her. Lo starts a nickname, which is
- 27:25just like but calls her Laura to everyone else.
- 27:28But I have a feeling because Verity wrote in a letter too, he
- 27:32was sitting at this table, ignoring me on your phone.
- 27:36What if she? Knew he was obsessed with Lowen,
- 27:39maybe because she said he was reading an ebook that was like
- 27:44she than hers or whatever, and he was trying to hide the fact
- 27:47that he was obsessed with Lowen. Yuck.
- 27:51Do you reckon? He would have googled what she
- 27:52looks like. Yeah.
- 27:53I don't even know what Lolan looks like.
- 27:55Do you? No.
- 27:57Or the only person I know is varied.
- 27:59Is hot, hot, skinny, blonde, massive titties.
- 28:02Maybe. Maybe.
- 28:03Maybe. Maybe.
- 28:04So Laurie was just. Reading.
- 28:06The manuscript amongst all this trauma and then just fantasizing
- 28:09about banging Jeremy and she's like, oh, the vibe is so there
- 28:13and I can't do it. And like she was giving Ariana
- 28:17Grande still your man on 1000%. Yeah, she was obsessed.
- 28:24But for what like? This woman is in the bedroom.
- 28:27Above you. I have some respect.
- 28:29I don't. I've never.
- 28:31OK. I have never.
- 28:32Met a man where I'm that obsessed that I'm like his
- 28:35comatose wife is upstairs. Can't wait to pull the wool over
- 28:38his comatose wife at that point. Just fucking Pillower, honestly.
- 28:44Unhook whatever machines that are connected to her.
- 28:46Not that it matters anyway. She's fine.
- 28:49She just gets up. She's.
- 28:50Keeping a knife from the floor? Yeah, what was with that little
- 28:53hidey hole? Also, why would?
- 28:55She. Hiding a knife.
- 28:58Who was she going to stab? Crew accidentally stabbed
- 29:01himself? Stabbed himself in the hand.
- 29:04Was she trying to kill crew? Like who?
- 29:06No, he got himself in the chin. Oh, I thought.
- 29:09Oh, the blood maybe was on his hands.
- 29:10Yeah. I just.
- 29:12Do you reckon? She was stashing the knife in
- 29:14case she had to use it. I just don't know.
- 29:16She was paranoid as fuck and not at any point until right at the
- 29:20end did she see Verity walk around.
- 29:22She was just going off a hunch, yeah, but that's what she wanted
- 29:26to believe. So I feel like.
- 29:28Sometimes what Loewen was seeing was what she wanted to see,
- 29:30because Jeremy never fucking physically saw it.
- 29:33Yeah. So she could have been going.
- 29:35Cuckoo because she's got this. Condition the sleepwalking.
- 29:38But she also might have a bit of psychosis, right?
- 29:41So I feel like a bit of Loewen was trying to justify not
- 29:44feeling guilty because Verity is an evil bitch, so I can take her
- 29:48man, because she's evilly staring at me from that window
- 29:52or whatever. Why wouldn't?
- 29:53She. She lives there.
- 29:54She has every right. She every right window.
- 29:57She has every right to look wherever she's looking.
- 29:59Who? Are we rooting?
- 30:00For none. Of.
- 30:01Those. April, April Is it check girl
- 30:06for no reason? She don't even have to be.
- 30:08Like lowering at some point got caught staring at Jeremy out the
- 30:12window and he's like. Who's.
- 30:14Even making the food, because Jeremy's just heating up
- 30:17leftovers. You'd think they could afford a
- 30:19chef slash nurse or something, or a housekeeper.
- 30:23He's like, what is your favorite food?
- 30:25Also, he whipped up a cake out of nothing and then sing.
- 30:29When he was making pizza, she was like, OK, great.
- 30:32And then it said I hate pizza, so go buy your own food, bitch.
- 30:37You're a little freeloading bitch.
- 30:38Excuse to just. Be a pick me for Jeremy.
- 30:42She would take even just food. Just how hard is it to say I
- 30:46don't like my pizza? She is.
- 30:48So desperate. This is what I hated about it.
- 30:51She is so desperate for Jeremy, but she's so desperate to be
- 30:55Verity. Yeah, every step.
- 30:57Yeah, even their sex scene. She was like, I'm going to bite
- 30:59harder into the headboard. I would be.
- 31:02Offended. He would be making me sleep in
- 31:04their bitten headboard. Exactly.
- 31:06That's a bit too much. Why are you dead ass biting?
- 31:10Into. Her bite marks, she was like,
- 31:12oh, there's a whole headboard just for me.
- 31:14But I'm going to bite and share it, OK?
- 31:16You fucking Gopher. Leave it alone.
- 31:19Fucking weird little bitch. She's the weirdest little bitch.
- 31:24She. Is so.
- 31:25You know that. She's got these goldfish eyes
- 31:27like, little like boggling out of her head.
- 31:29Oh, and honestly, there was a bit right where Jeremy never
- 31:34read any of Verity's stuff. Was he?
- 31:39Illiterate. No, I'm thinking.
- 31:41But he only read Lowen's and I'm like, was he obsessed with Lowen
- 31:44or was he a shit partner? Because wouldn't she be so
- 31:47excited? Wouldn't she want to know how
- 31:50your bills are being paid? Wouldn't she want to know how
- 31:53she's the biggest and my? Seller right now.
- 31:55He's like, oh, she it's just scary being on her head.
- 31:59Wouldn't you just be fascinated by how creative this fucking
- 32:02woman is? I thought he read her original
- 32:05first draft. He did and he thought it was
- 32:07amazing, but then he keep reading her stuff, but then he
- 32:10was too scared to read her stuff.
- 32:13I'm like he got too intimidated because he wasn't the man at the
- 32:15house anymore. 100. Percent.
- 32:17And he had to become that. Stay at home, Dad.
- 32:19Honestly. And he was pissed when she
- 32:21literally took the kids to daycare.
- 32:23Yeah, although she was psychotic.
- 32:24She would unplug the monitors. Honestly, this is where I was
- 32:29like, I hope she dies. The fact that they were crying
- 32:32all day and also the weird love for Chaston and not Harper.
- 32:37Yep. I don't think they're probably
- 32:38going to talk about any of that because it is horrible.
- 32:41It is horrible to read. That's if the manuscript is
- 32:43true, but it was still horrible to read because I I think it's
- 32:46true as you're reading it. I really think it is true
- 32:49because she only wrote that after she seen Lowen banging her
- 32:53husband. So really, I reckon the letter
- 32:56was flown. Yeah.
- 32:57So there is non-stop oral sex with very Jeremy in that
- 33:02manuscript for whatever reason. I don't know why it was always
- 33:05oral. She looks up at him and he's
- 33:07like, How many women have sucked your Dick?
- 33:09And he was just like. Oh, like 30.
- 33:12He says 20 for. Shame, Jeremy.
- 33:17For shame. You little hoe, Jeremy, you
- 33:20little hoe. Disgusting things are none one
- 33:25sitting here acting like he's a house husband.
- 33:28He's not. He's for the street.
- 33:30He is. How did he even get?
- 33:32Cuffed up. I'm so confused.
- 33:34I'm surprised he didn't try. Fuck April.
- 33:36Honestly, she probably did. That's why she was eyeballed.
- 33:40Alone but like. What the hell is this?
- 33:42Jeremy. What kind of what?
- 33:44Just fucking lottery is this shit.
- 33:47He. Needs to be stoned.
- 33:51He's. Only. 30 something And they were
- 33:53together for ages. Well, true, they were together.
- 33:58It'd been nine years, I reckon. Yeah.
- 33:59So they've been together nearly a decade.
- 34:01Yeah. So that just.
- 34:03What? Yeah, honestly, that's an old
- 34:06man when you think about it, because he's being just chewed
- 34:09up, spat out. At this point, he's fucking
- 34:11ready to go into a retirement home and he's out here getting
- 34:15Dick down. He's not.
- 34:18He's not husband material. No.
- 34:20Like his value is on the floor, through the floor.
- 34:25It's like Earth core level. I wouldn't even look at that man
- 34:27on the street. Is he even a person?
- 34:30He has STI's up the Duff, up the poof off.
- 34:37I just, I can't feel anything about this man anymore, 'cause
- 34:41he's just lost my respect this. Is my favorite bit.
- 34:51Like, how dare he. Foul.
- 34:53Disgusting. He needs to be.
- 34:55Punished. Death row.
- 34:56At this point, everyone needs to stand in the street screaming
- 35:00shame and throwing stones. Throwing stones because of his
- 35:04pencil Dick. It has been used up, worn down,
- 35:07sharpened to a tee. There's nothing left, There's.
- 35:10Nothing left. The skin has been exfoliated to
- 35:13nothing. That's not the kind of quality
- 35:15of man that should produce offspring at that point, because
- 35:18like, he's been used up so he's infertile.
- 35:21The sperm like, is watered down. Yeah, with every ejaculation it
- 35:26is less and less quality. Verity.
- 35:29Didn't even. Know.
- 35:30That Lowe existed, and that was like the first call out Later,
- 35:35when Jeremy admits that he was the one that fell in love with
- 35:38her stupid debut book, yes, and admits that he's the one who put
- 35:42her name forward, Wouldn't that be the biggest red flag out of
- 35:45pretty much all of them? That's what I mean.
- 35:47Like that is Corey can't complain about Corey and then
- 35:50Jeremy do the same thing. He had essentially trapped you
- 35:53in his house and he hand picked you.
- 35:56Hand picked you had nothing to do with Verity.
- 35:59Honestly, everyone is de Lulu. The.
- 36:03Whole Everyone's de Lulu. So.
- 36:07Things are heating up between Jeremy and the Captive though.
- 36:11Like obviously they are kissing properly for the first time.
- 36:16Verity is just. Bugging in the background,
- 36:18standing, staring at them. And that's the only.
- 36:21Reason that Lowe stops? Yeah, if Verity wasn't in the
- 36:25background, she would not stop. Are you kidding?
- 36:29Yeah. Would it keep going?
- 36:30And that's why I think she's De Lulu.
- 36:34This man's just a sex psychic. He actually has no interest in
- 36:37her as a person. I don't think it just gets
- 36:40progressively worse, but. Also, why is he so?
- 36:42Lovingly affectionate to her. Because I.
- 36:44Hadn't even had sex yet, and he was broken her hair, holding
- 36:47onto her in the bed and stuff. And I was like, yeah, cuddling
- 36:51because she was scared of his current host wives upstairs.
- 36:55But he was acting like she's the replacement.
- 36:58He. Obviously thought his wife was
- 37:00horrible. You can't convince me otherwise.
- 37:02If your wife is upstairs, why would you even be interested in
- 37:07cuddling some random chick? Exactly.
- 37:09Go cuddle your wife. Go read her book, you fucking
- 37:12Dick. He's found me.
- 37:14Well, he was lying the whole time because he had already read
- 37:17everything, obviously. Yeah.
- 37:19So why drag this? Poor.
- 37:21Replacement girl into this mess, yeah.
- 37:25She can't fucking write. Just.
- 37:27Go on a dating app. And.
- 37:29Go do your adultery in a hotel like a normal person.
- 37:32Absolutely. Was he just too?
- 37:35Slack Like he's like, you know what, I'm just going to do a
- 37:372IN1. I'm going to get this book
- 37:38contract and I'm going to make her fuck me.
- 37:40Yeah, for free. Yeah, because that's what it
- 37:43seems like. He was just too lazy.
- 37:44He just outsourced it. Just go date and tell people
- 37:47that you've got a comatose wife. Fucking weirdo.
- 37:50People wouldn't even care. Well, even when he goes shopping
- 37:54with her at Target or whatever, some of Verity's friends point
- 37:57it out. They're like, and he's like, I'm
- 38:00just getting on their level, pointing out the guy she's
- 38:02sleeping with. I'm like, you weren't even
- 38:04sleeping with this bitch at this point.
- 38:05Why is he trying to be on the moral high horse?
- 38:08And Lo loved it. She ate it up.
- 38:09She was like. And he.
- 38:11Was like and she's like, I love it when calm is reserved for
- 38:14people like that. You don't even know this lady,
- 38:18and also you don't know that Jeremy is not a psycho.
- 38:21This is when Jeremy started locking Lowen from the outside
- 38:26of her room because he found out about the sleepwalking.
- 38:28Yep, she woke up. In.
- 38:31Verities bed very didn't do a thing.
- 38:35And she was, practically. About to hump.
- 38:36Verity. That's because she's.
- 38:38So. Obsessed with her.
- 38:39She's so obsessed with Verity. I would have suffocated that
- 38:43bitch in my bed if you were Verity though, because you're
- 38:45pretending. Wouldn't she be rolling around
- 38:48all the time? Snoring?
- 38:50I don't know, doing normal stuff in the bed?
- 38:52Maybe She can like her brain. Still kind of works.
- 38:56Yeah, but she's literally. Pretending to be injured so
- 38:59well, they lock her in her room, so you never know.
- 39:01They get to a point where Jeremy starts looking very in her room.
- 39:04Yeah, both of them. Yeah, because Ono I lo scared of
- 39:07her. What Leave?
- 39:10Yeah, exactly. She doesn't even.
- 39:12Have to be here. The only reason why she?
- 39:14Stayed is because conveniently, her apartment she was
- 39:17blacklisted and she couldn't move into a new apartment and I
- 39:20was like, oh, you know, she never moved out.
- 39:22She went straight from. Being homeless.
- 39:25Living in this creepy mansion and then in a relationship with
- 39:28him, Yeah, and that's where it just gets worse and worse.
- 39:32I actually, there's one moment I'm proud of Verity and it's
- 39:35when they start hooking up and Lo is screaming in her face.
- 39:40She's like, I hope you choke. I'm going to go fuck your
- 39:43husband in your bed because you know, I'm so obsessed with you
- 39:46and I just want to wear your skin.
- 39:48And Verity pisses herself. And to me at the time, I was
- 39:52like, that's fat. And I was like, no, it's so
- 39:54smart because April's gone home for the day, April's left it
- 39:57downstairs for the first time in ever, and then Jeremy has to go
- 40:02clean her up, put her into bed for like 2-3 hours.
- 40:06That's what you get, bitch. You're so thirsty for her
- 40:08husband that all she had to do was piss herself.
- 40:12This point, she doesn't even want to be with Jeremy.
- 40:14This is the long con so that she can quote UN quote escape with
- 40:17crew. Yeah.
- 40:18Her plan at this stage wasn't to get back with Jeremy.
- 40:21Yeah, it was to leave his ass, 'cause he's just as crazy as
- 40:24she. I I don't really reckon she was
- 40:25just saving face. I don't think she would have
- 40:28left. Really.
- 40:30Yeah. I don't think she would have
- 40:30left. So you think she if she maybe.
- 40:32Yeah. If she was that obsessed with
- 40:34Jeremy, she would have interrupted before they had sex.
- 40:37She wouldn't have let this chick have sex with him.
- 40:40No. She would have killed.
- 40:41Her before she had sex, it was true.
- 40:43But I also don't think she would have taken crew.
- 40:45There's no way that girl liked any of her children.
- 40:48She. Liked.
- 40:49Cruz. Is it just because he's a boy?
- 40:51I think so, yeah, Because he's not a threat, I suppose.
- 40:55Because she kept mentioning it. That was the plan.
- 40:57And that's what Lo was paranoid about.
- 40:59She's like, she's going to pop open and be alive and take root
- 41:02just to spite Jeremy. But that was what she was
- 41:05saying. Not long after they end up still
- 41:07having sex. Right after anyway.
- 41:11They, like, fucked all night. They fucked all night.
- 41:13But he didn't have a condom. And he she wasn't on the pill.
- 41:17And now we're just like, I'll pull out.
- 41:19That's all right. That's going to be fine.
- 41:21Because she goes, yeah, that's all right.
- 41:22And then he's like, all right. But he did successfully pull out
- 41:26that time. It was a different story later,
- 41:28which was even more, which is worse?
- 41:31They have sex. One, it's the most mediocre sex
- 41:34scene I've ever read in my life, which is fine.
- 41:36But two, she's like. For half.
- 41:38An hour? He was just switching me in
- 41:40positions. Half an hour is not that much.
- 41:42Why are you impressed? Take a shot for every time that
- 41:45Verity wrote down that she was washing a chicken.
- 41:48Oh my God. When she finds.
- 41:50About out about Chaston, yeah. Yeah.
- 41:53She was washing. A chicken.
- 41:55She was washing a chicken. Honestly, she was washing
- 41:58washing a chicken and then she vomited on the chicken.
- 42:00I was like, this is the worst part of the book.
- 42:05A raw chicken. First of all, you don't wash it.
- 42:07You fucking kill the germs in the oven when you cook it.
- 42:10Bitch. Honestly, that's how we do it.
- 42:13That's the most strange. It's America that washes their
- 42:16chicken and I don't understand it.
- 42:18I do not understand it. You're spreading the salmonella
- 42:20everywhere. That's what I like.
- 42:23Yuck. What?
- 42:26Why is your? Chicken, that slimy.
- 42:27Also. That's the real question.
- 42:30You know what? I just wanted to at this point.
- 42:32And I know this is the manuscript version, but I wanted
- 42:34to grab Verity and shake her and just be like Harper's got
- 42:39Aspergers. She's not trying to kill chest
- 42:42off, just she's constantly like. Harper.
- 42:47'S because I had a nightmare about it.
- 42:48Harper's purposefully trying to kill.
- 42:51Chest off this whole fucking book.
- 42:53You know what's? Fucked about that, right?
- 42:55She's blaming this on Harper like she didn't shut the door on
- 42:59her four week old babies and let them starve to death all day.
- 43:02How are you? Better.
- 43:03She's acting like she didn't multiple times try to abort them
- 43:08in utero. And then she's.
- 43:10Like, how dare this child? How?
- 43:12Dare. I'm like I have been abusing
- 43:15them day in and day out by this, but she immediately.
- 43:18Goes. I looked at Harper, and she
- 43:20clearly did it. You know why?
- 43:23Because. Harper was the one who scratched
- 43:25Chester's face, and then she's grand.
- 43:28With it, she's. Like yes.
- 43:30I really think she's so deep in her own mind.
- 43:34She's like, finally someone to blame.
- 43:36Who's responsible? Not Jeremy.
- 43:38No, not by myself. Harper, honestly, she was just
- 43:45geared up to kill Harper. She was so excited at that
- 43:48point, she just told someone. She has the towel.
- 43:52She lives on her own. She's.
- 43:54Mad because. Jeremy wouldn't let her get her
- 43:56job. Back.
- 43:57He's. Kind.
- 43:58Of low key abusive they both are.
- 44:00He's kind of in the way. Subtle controlling.
- 44:03Yeah, because he feels intimidated by her, so he would
- 44:08go around. Acting the victim.
- 44:10And that's what. I mean the whole entire book, if
- 44:12you actually pay attention, which was really hard, not going
- 44:15to lie, struggled, struggled to the house.
- 44:19They're. All just as abusive as each
- 44:21other. You know what Lohan's?
- 44:24Not a girl's girl, but Verity's. Not a girl's girl, obviously
- 44:28either, but. You're.
- 44:29Allowed to be obsessed with your husband like she was obsessed
- 44:33with her own husband. But Lauren is obsessed with some
- 44:37other woman's husband. That's even worse.
- 44:39That's that's fair. A whole new universe of pygmy
- 44:43energy. And honestly, she's.
- 44:45Your own man. She's your own husband.
- 44:49She wants her even. Corey didn't want.
- 44:51Her. No, I think.
- 44:52That's why she her self esteem is so far on the ground.
- 44:56She knows she'll never live up to Verity in her career, and she
- 45:00knows she could never pull Jeremy without the situation.
- 45:05If. Verity was alive and alert.
- 45:08Jeremy wouldn't even. Look at.
- 45:09Her. And she wants to be her so bad.
- 45:13That's why she locks him in, literally.
- 45:15When they're fucking, she locks him in with her legs, yeah?
- 45:20And then she fucking holds the sperm in.
- 45:23I'm like. Bitch.
- 45:24That was the point. I was like you were.
- 45:26No. I was like you were no better
- 45:28than Verity. This is when I actually started
- 45:30thinking about the book. I was like, she is no better
- 45:32than Verity. She's like, absolutely, I'm
- 45:35going to trap this poor man. And she hadn't even read the end
- 45:37of the manuscript either. You didn't even know if Jeremy
- 45:40knew about this kind of stuff yet.
- 45:42And you're still going to be like, you know, what's a good
- 45:45thing to do right now is to bring another child into this.
- 45:47Well, she even says he deserves to be with someone who will put
- 45:50her love for his children before anything else.
- 45:53And that's when I was like, oh, wait, what's happening?
- 45:57Children? He's got one.
- 45:59And then she goes. And then I put my the pillow up
- 46:02and I didn't move and I was like, oh, also, it ended up
- 46:06being a girl. Of course.
- 46:07Yeah, of course. Of course.
- 46:09And honestly, I don't like Jeremy, but give this man a
- 46:13fucking break. Also.
- 46:14I know. Just let him.
- 46:16Be it is his own fault. Just don't get involved with
- 46:19someone. Yeah, but he's so like he's
- 46:21mentally not there. You can't tell him he is.
- 46:23And you're like, yeah, let's just wrap him with a fucking
- 46:26baby. He's definitely on autopilot.
- 46:29She's just morphing into Verity as hard as she can.
- 46:33I never asked you if you were team Manuscript or if you were
- 46:36team letter. What are you feeling?
- 46:39When I had just read it, I thought I was team letter.
- 46:42Yeah, but then I'm like. There would be no need to.
- 46:44Stretch out faking the injury for so long unless you were
- 46:48guilty. Yeah, because why would you go
- 46:50to that length when you could literally leave, get safe.
- 46:54Yeah. And then you are the victim.
- 46:57It doesn't make any sense. And also if you were writing
- 46:59some sort of manuscript like that, wouldn't you prep your
- 47:03husband? Would you be like, I'm writing
- 47:05this manuscript? I do not feel this way.
- 47:08I might need a little mental support regarding I hate.
- 47:12I also wouldn't have that in my house.
- 47:14I know. What if your kid finds it and
- 47:15they're like? And your.
- 47:17Children actually died. What if this got leaked online
- 47:20somehow? Someone hacked your G Drive,
- 47:22your Google Drive, and then they were just like, yeah, Verity.
- 47:27Is. Insane, yeah.
- 47:29And also if she went to so many lengths to throw it out.
- 47:33How did LO just magically? Find it.
- 47:35Apart from Jeremy obviously putting it right there, because
- 47:37that's what he would have done. Yeah.
- 47:39Come on, girl. You didn't look hard enough.
- 47:40I feel like she didn't have the opportunity to check the house
- 47:44until Lo was there. And then Lori found it first and
- 47:48obviously had it with her all the time in the letter.
- 47:51He deleted it off our computer. But I'm like the reaction he
- 47:54had. He gets the manuscript, he reads
- 47:57it and then he's like Verity, if you don't open your eyes right
- 48:00now, I'm going to the place and you'll never see crew again.
- 48:03And then he goes, what the fuck was going on?
- 48:05And she was like, I can explain when you already said that you
- 48:09did that. So I'm like, wouldn't you like
- 48:13as low anytime throughout this whole book because she keeps
- 48:17going, oh, I'm so. Scared.
- 48:18Fucking put a little. Camera in her room.
- 48:21You could have done that the. Entire time.
- 48:24Put one of those video baby monitors the whole time, not at
- 48:28the very end for no reason. Oh, sorry.
- 48:31If you're smart enough, why would you put it in her room?
- 48:35Put it outside her door? Because she knew you'd put it in
- 48:37there and that's why she I think she was going for the knife when
- 48:42she fell out of bed, but she didn't have to wait till the
- 48:44very end. She could.
- 48:45Have done it. This whole time, yeah, you could
- 48:47have said to Jeremy day one, like, oh, you should really put
- 48:50a like a video. Camera in here to make sure.
- 48:51April's not sealing stuff like, Oh yeah, like she's actually
- 48:54looking after. Yeah.
- 48:57Any any excuse? Put it up in the corner.
- 48:59What's she? Going to do verity's probably in
- 49:01there. Like, if this was my personal
- 49:02room, I'd be in there working out twerking, dressing up the
- 49:08footage of Verity. Just twerking.
- 49:09In the mirror. Like.
- 49:12She's supposed to be comatose. Also.
- 49:16She's just full. Like ass out.
- 49:19She's. Like I need to get some exercise
- 49:22in WAP is playing. Just.
- 49:28Just imagine her turning ahead and being like April.
- 49:31I've bought a shit like, can we literally?
- 49:33But how did you as a person who's not Coma Antos?
- 49:38Right. Have you sit there and let the?
- 49:41Mechanical bed Rotate you all night?
- 49:44Get fucked. I'm turning that shit off.
- 49:46Well, so. Why did they move her upstairs
- 49:49if she's in a fucking wheelchair?
- 49:51Wouldn't you keep her on the 1st floor in the master bedroom with
- 49:55the duh shooter headboard with the shooter, the fucking little
- 50:02toddler bed headboard and the bath down there?
- 50:06Like why is she upstairs? You're fucking.
- 50:09You're still that whole elevator in your house when you could
- 50:12have kept that bitch downstairs. Literally.
- 50:14Yeah, and they could have been the ones upstairs making the bed
- 50:17noises on very on top, very should see underneath.
- 50:24Chewing. We should have free Ranger Own
- 50:28offers. You know what, though?
- 50:31You mentioned the very end, right?
- 50:32So the big climax. Because I was like.
- 50:34I don't know where this. Is going to go.
- 50:36When I was. Reading it, I thought she was
- 50:37fully chromatosis and they were just screaming at a dead lady
- 50:41essentially. And I was like, just let her
- 50:43live on life support. I don't know.
- 50:45And then? She just like.
- 50:46Pops her eyes open and she's like.
- 50:48Let me explain. At this point.
- 50:51Wouldn't. You just chain her up to the
- 50:54bed, Yeah, and hear her out. Why do you go straight to
- 51:01killing her? I have.
- 51:02This is my theory with this, though, is if he read the whole
- 51:07manuscript, it's his memory too. So he's probably lining up the
- 51:12the memories, lining up her hate for Harper and all the things
- 51:16that he lived through. And he's like, actually, I
- 51:19noticed that shit because remember, there was like the
- 51:22daycare, even knew that she didn't like Harper.
- 51:25So I'm assuming all of that happened and he's like, fuck,
- 51:27this all makes sense. And then went insane.
- 51:30If it wasn't a real manuscript and he read it, he would have
- 51:32been like, I don't remember any of this shit, but everything was
- 51:35obviously down to AT because she's good.
- 51:38Yeah, at that. Point I want to get.
- 51:40Answers out of this hoe, I'd be like, why'd you piss yourself
- 51:43first of all? When they pull in on this.
- 51:47OK, pissy pants, calm down. I'd be like.
- 51:49How do you want me to end this stupid?
- 51:50Series. I would be.
- 51:52Asking her questions. I'd be like, OK, who does the
- 51:54main protagonist get with them? I'd be.
- 51:57Drilling her for answers about my work that I had to do for
- 51:59half $1,000,000 because hello, but instead Lola was like, yeah,
- 52:02kill her. Oh, she would?
- 52:04Yeah. Fucking take her out the
- 52:06competition. Say let's shoot ourselves into a
- 52:09bucket up to the moon, and she would say.
- 52:11When are we? Leaving.
- 52:12I would honestly hand that bitch over to the police, make her rot
- 52:16in fucking jail. I think they're too scared that
- 52:19she's so manipulative that she'll talk her way out of it.
- 52:21Or she could plead insanity and then she'd still be alive.
- 52:25She's Cruz's mom, so they're scared of her having rights to
- 52:28her own child. Oh my God.
- 52:30I do think it's fucking delicious at this point that she
- 52:34died the same way she was trying to torture Harper.
- 52:36Yeah, And that's the only thing that mattered to me at this
- 52:39point. How did Lori know that to do
- 52:42that? She's already thought about it.
- 52:44She's either already thought about it or that's how her mum
- 52:46died. So we both.
- 52:49Probably both. She Gypsy Rose, that bitch.
- 52:53She did. She's been waiting.
- 52:55She was like, she's like, I'm out of dollars at this point.
- 52:58You got to go. Well, she found out her mum ran
- 53:00out of money and she was so pissed about it.
- 53:02She was like, thanks Mum. Why wouldn't Jeremy just put
- 53:05that bitch in a home? That's what Loy was trying to
- 53:08tell him to do. Also, every single time they
- 53:12talked about Verity, Loy was like, just do something for
- 53:16yourself. He's not allowed to look after
- 53:19his wife. Can you imagine 'cause if it was
- 53:22her she'd be like in sickness or in health?
- 53:25She'd be like your vows. You've got to look.
- 53:27After me, Jeremy. But because it was Verity, she's
- 53:29like she's practically. Half in the bin.
- 53:31She's. Just sorry, yeah.
- 53:35She's like, we could get a nice. Urn.
- 53:41We got his goldfisher. She practically is.
- 53:46We could just lock the door and fire April, and we'd lock the
- 53:52door and light the house on fire.
- 53:55And then she. Acted like she hated the house.
- 53:58I was like the house did nothing to you, lady.
- 54:01She's like, there's too many memories, but she's OK chomping
- 54:05on the bit that still has verities DNA on it on the
- 54:07headboard. But you're not OK with the whole
- 54:09house. What?
- 54:10The house do. What the house?
- 54:12Throw out the bed. Throw out the.
- 54:14What's? Wrong with having memories of
- 54:16your children in the. House.
- 54:18Fucking kids. She was like those.
- 54:20Kids didn't exist until I had a baby girl.
- 54:23Yeah, me. We'll worry about crew later.
- 54:25Yeah, they killed her straight away.
- 54:27For what? Because seriously, I would
- 54:29interrogate that bitch for like 48 hours.
- 54:31Also, I would interrogate the shit out of crew.
- 54:34He knew so much shit. Yeah, he was sneaky.
- 54:37I know he's 5, but also how convenient that he goes gets his
- 54:41little drawings out of the 1 hidden spot.
- 54:45Like if he was drawing for his mom, why would she hide them?
- 54:49That letter was bullshit. Oh, it was so bullshit.
- 54:52It was just bullshit. No one's doing an exercise for
- 54:55like a 10 million word essay when you've got books due.
- 54:58I'm like, no one is doing an exercise about torturing your
- 55:02kids. I wouldn't write that shit down.
- 55:05You wouldn't willingly write down that you murdered your
- 55:08daughter and then in the end of the manuscript and then she
- 55:11goes, Then I went into a tree. Yeah, I really think she was
- 55:15kind of commit suicide as like, fuck you.
- 55:17No, fuck you to Jeremy. This is what you get for not
- 55:20loving me enough. Good.
- 55:21I don't even like good ridders. Bitch get ridders.
- 55:25If you actually attempted to kill your kids in that, you
- 55:28deserve to go into a tree. Bye.
- 55:31Bye. Honestly, I'm slightly
- 55:33traumatized by this entire book. I'm very traumatized.
- 55:35I was reading bits. I needed breaks.
- 55:38I wanted my mum to pick me up. You're like.
- 55:41Get Me Out of. Here I was.
- 55:42I was so mad. I was saying this is.
- 55:45Horrible. Who is this book for?
- 55:47I can't. By the time I read the end of
- 55:49the book, I was like, I get it. But it's predictable.
- 55:52Why would you willingly want to read half of that?
- 55:55I'm like and there was no romance.
- 55:57There's no fucking romance. No.
- 55:58How am I supposed to feel? Good about Jeremy and Lowe.
- 56:02Jeremy Breeding kink. Jeremy.
- 56:06She was like, immediately. Pregnant.
- 56:07I mean, that girl Laura just wanted to wear her skin.
- 56:11Verity skin. That's all it was.
- 56:13She was so obsessed with this bitch and that's it.
- 56:15She just had nothing else going on in her life.
- 56:17She was like, let's just adopt an entire identity.
- 56:20I feel like Laura was unintentionally leaning into the
- 56:24becoming the villain as well. Yeah, she was doing the exercise
- 56:28as well. That's what I mean, You can't
- 56:30read that and be OK. I know.
- 56:33Also, if that was an exercise, wouldn't you put on the front
- 56:35page of that manuscript? Yeah, my man.
- 56:37Real. Like a little disclaimer, just
- 56:39in case someone read it. The funny thing was when Jeremy
- 56:42was scared about April. Finding them in bed.
- 56:45Together I was like, he cares more about what April things.
- 56:47I'm like, dude, you're guilty as fuck.
- 56:50If you're not. Ashamed of what you're doing?
- 56:51Why does it matter when the fucking nurse comes in?
- 56:54Unless he's fucking April too. That's what I think.
- 56:57I'm like. April's getting it.
- 56:59April's getting also. You can't tell me there is.
- 57:02I know they say they put crew into therapy, but that kids
- 57:06going to grow up to be a serial killer too.
- 57:07You can't tell me otherwise. They keep talking about the kid
- 57:10getting therapy. None of the fucking adults are.
- 57:12What the hell? They're the ones you.
- 57:14Need it? The most of.
- 57:15Everybody it it made me. So mad they were like.
- 57:19Oh. Hello.
- 57:22They didn't even acknowledge Jeremy's grief.
- 57:25Yeah, they're like, yeah, he's functioning normal.
- 57:29I feel like he's the kind of guy that would just be sitting on
- 57:31that dock zoning out, just dissociating for 10 hours.
- 57:34There was a bit where they were like, oh, you're building a new
- 57:37dock. And he's like, no, I'm ripping
- 57:38it down. I'm.
- 57:39I want nothing to do with the dock.
- 57:41I'd want to go on. He was traumatized, too.
- 57:44But then I don't even know if I feel bad for me that I'm just
- 57:47making just stupid choices. No, I feel I do not.
- 57:50I honestly feel like all the characters were the same
- 57:52character. They were just sneaky with Lowen
- 57:56and Jeremy. It's funny though, because
- 57:58Jeremy admits at the start that he's still in love with Verity.
- 58:01Verity was full at her normal yeah capacity he would be with
- 58:05Verity. Yeah.
- 58:06And Lowe was OK with that, 'cause she was like, oh, I'm
- 58:10happy to just be a replacement then.
- 58:12No, get alive. You should have moved out the
- 58:15moment you started feeling that way.
- 58:17But what does she expect is gonna happen?
- 58:18It's just happy family. She was so excited when they
- 58:20moved out. So at the very end, they're
- 58:22obviously together. She's pregnant.
- 58:23She knows it's a girl. Yeah.
- 58:25So she's like, I'm so glad that I could provide this life for
- 58:28Jeremy. He's always gonna be thinking
- 58:31about him and Verity. They had that much sex, bitch.
- 58:35Good sex. It's like The Notebook, where
- 58:37his true love is always going to be Verity.
- 58:40Stupid bitch. Yeah, you're just honestly the
- 58:44placeholder. The placeholder, forever new and
- 58:46fresh, comes along because isn't she Very young, I think.
- 58:49She's early. 20s or something, right?
- 58:51Because he would be. Him and Verity were together at
- 58:54least a decade, so that, well, they got together when he was 27
- 58:58and then they had nine years together, so.
- 59:01So he's 38. Yeah, essentially.
- 59:03Yeah. Yuck.
- 59:05He's old. Dating some 23 year old or
- 59:07something. Yeah, very neat.
- 59:09Should have killed the shit out of her.
- 59:12The. Shit out of both of them.
- 59:14Honestly, it's just so gross. The next available vagina that
- 59:19moves into my house is just going to become my wife.
- 59:22How convenient that he is so obsessed with a fresh early 20
- 59:25year old that he needs in his house.
- 59:29It's giving relationship of convenience and it's giving just
- 59:34proximity. She ate that letter and was
- 59:37like, I never want anyone to find out that you don't even
- 59:41know your own partner. You really think that he already
- 59:45knew and made a crash into a car and you're just OK with it?
- 59:49Exactly. And not only that, his solution?
- 59:53For. Verity, like pretty much opening
- 59:54our eyes, was to immediately kill her, which indicates he's
- 59:58guilty of something. Yeah, because if he wasn't
- 1:00:00guilty, he would hear her out. Yeah.
- 1:00:03And the fact that he goes, Oh my God, Lo, let's just fucking kill
- 1:00:05her. There's.
- 1:00:06Something. The second you do something
- 1:00:08wrong, Lo, he's going to fucking kill you.
- 1:00:10Yeah, so good luck with that. And why do you eat it?
- 1:00:14The toilet is enough, bitch. No one's going to be able to
- 1:00:17read. She wanted her words like inside
- 1:00:19of her. She's so upset.
- 1:00:22When she was like trying to flush the toilet.
- 1:00:24I'm like, what are you doing? Okay.
- 1:00:26Why did Lowe even need to? I'm going to just take this to
- 1:00:29the grave, of course, because the letter indicated that you
- 1:00:33were wrong, bitch. The letter saying that this was
- 1:00:37an exercise and Verity's a better woman than you, so she
- 1:00:41was. Like, oh, I can't face that.
- 1:00:43Reality. So she tore it up.
- 1:00:45That's the only reason why, when I read the book, I wanted Verity
- 1:00:48to be the good mum and it was all an exercise.
- 1:00:51Just to be low in the bad guy. That's what I That would have
- 1:00:54been amazing, but it could be. That could be my interpretation.
- 1:00:57You can just. Choose what you want.
- 1:00:59Because I wanted Lowen to be the worst one.
- 1:01:01He was too naive and stupid to think a single thing through.
- 1:01:04Because she was digmatized. Because she read a couple oral
- 1:01:07sex scenes. I It would speak so much better
- 1:01:10if he was not that good. And Jeremy was supposed to be so
- 1:01:14good because he gave the shirt off his back.
- 1:01:17There was blood all over her shirt.
- 1:01:18It was a halfway decent thing to do, that there's not a big deal.
- 1:01:21Yeah. And why was he always shirtless?
- 1:01:24She was always looking at him. And she's like, I've seen him
- 1:01:26shirtless before, but like blah blah blah.
- 1:01:29You can't tell me crew wasn't picking up on all the vibes when
- 1:01:32they went out to dinner that time And she was like, it feels
- 1:01:34like a date. There's a 5 year old right next
- 1:01:36to you. Psycho.
- 1:01:37Traumatized. 5 year old too. Not like AI could just imagine
- 1:01:41her coaxing him to finger her under the table or something.
- 1:01:45I wouldn't be surprised because she'd be like this is our first
- 1:01:47date. And then?
- 1:01:48Everyone's like. Oh, cruisy, huh?
- 1:01:50Just April sitting right there like, I'm like, he wasn't even
- 1:01:54taking you out to dinner. He just felt bad and was taking
- 1:01:57you along with crew. They literally they went to
- 1:02:00Maccas like farm town. Maccas.
- 1:02:03Eat your little French fries and shut the fuck up, bitch.
- 1:02:06It was a bare minimum. He has never treated you like he
- 1:02:09actually respected you. He was like, it's on me, OK?
- 1:02:12You're $10 Happy Meal because you're a child bitch.
- 1:02:17I hate this book. So much so, she hated how Corey
- 1:02:20loved her for the character she wrote in the debut novel, but
- 1:02:24she was OK with Jeremy falling in love with her for the
- 1:02:27character in the debut novel. But then she was.
- 1:02:29Also falling in love with Jeremy for being in the members of your
- 1:02:33script. All falling in love with the
- 1:02:36fake versions of themselves written by other people.
- 1:02:39But that's. She's like, Verity is a psycho,
- 1:02:42while she's also doing psychotic shit.
- 1:02:44But Verity is the worst one, so I'm better.
- 1:02:47At least she's smart. This is like the Pygmy Olympics.
- 1:02:51Honestly, I don't even know who won.
- 1:02:54They all kind of tied at this point.
- 1:02:56OK, so. Look.
- 1:02:58You know what? You know what?
- 1:03:00You know what? The nicest thing I can say about
- 1:03:02this book is that she kept it to a respectable word.
- 1:03:06Count. I know it dragged.
- 1:03:08Me, But I had an audio. Book.
- 1:03:09So I fucking had it on double. Speed.
- 1:03:12And it wasn't that long. So if I'm going to be completely
- 1:03:15honest, I skim the shit out of this.
- 1:03:18There's some, yeah pages I glanced and I was like.
- 1:03:20Nah, and just. Yeah, nothing's happening.
- 1:03:24Honestly. So fucking boring.
- 1:03:25The 1st 100 pages are the worst. If I went and bought like a
- 1:03:29hardcover book and spent like $20 on it, I wouldn't be fucking
- 1:03:32fare all about it. That's why I don't buy physical
- 1:03:34books. I literally.
- 1:03:35Can't do it. Because I don't want a physical
- 1:03:38thing taking up room of something I hate.
- 1:03:40Yeah, yeah. And for this, I think I got this
- 1:03:43on Audible for $5 on discount, so it was worth it.
- 1:03:47What should we rate this out of? Washed.
- 1:03:51Chickens. Some vomit chickens or Ariana
- 1:03:55Grande, yeah. How many?
- 1:03:57Yes. Out of five.
- 1:03:59How many love and cares? Yeah, How many love and cares
- 1:04:06from me? A 0I honestly fucking hated it.
- 1:04:13I didn't. Even do a zero on Goodreads.
- 1:04:15Did you know that Ferrell Goodreads?
- 1:04:18Ferrell Ferrell Ferrell. Number one, like one star is.
- 1:04:21I didn't like it. It's not even a star.
- 1:04:23Worthy book. I'm sure people loved it.
- 1:04:26Good for you. One, I'm not a fan of Colleen
- 1:04:29Hooper books. I never enjoy them.
- 1:04:31They're not fun. Also, it's fucking trash.
- 1:04:34I think the problem with Coho is she's so misogynistic.
- 1:04:39It hurts. She's so misogynistic.
- 1:04:42But also she writes at like a 10 year old level.
- 1:04:44And I'm not saying I read quality.
- 1:04:46Books. But there was no.
- 1:04:48Fun time. I gave it to ya out of five.
- 1:04:54Because. On Goodreads, that means it was
- 1:04:56OK. The reason why I thought it was
- 1:05:00OK is because it was trying to be a thriller.
- 1:05:04Yeah, but it's not a romance. I would give it zero for
- 1:05:07romance. No.
- 1:05:08Absolutely. It's not a romance.
- 1:05:10Yeah, it's a thriller, not a thriller type for me.
- 1:05:14I just can't do children. I just can't.
- 1:05:17Yeah, that was a bit. It was a bit very in your face.
- 1:05:20The only suspense was when Jeremy.
- 1:05:22Walked up behind her about the mechanical.
- 1:05:24Bend you just. The rest was just like how
- 1:05:28honestly, I really just thought all of the characters were
- 1:05:30stupid. Yeah.
- 1:05:32I just think there was no point to it.
- 1:05:34No. I like a book where you can
- 1:05:37choose the ending you want though, and that's why it went
- 1:05:40into the two instead of a one, because at least I can pretend
- 1:05:43it's a better plot. But you know what?
- 1:05:45I really would have thought it was better if Jeremy was the
- 1:05:48problem. Yeah.
- 1:05:49But he's too dumb to be the problem.
- 1:05:51But if he was, and he if he took it, that next step, and he was
- 1:05:54the one who wrote the manuscript.
- 1:05:55Then I'd be like. Chef's kiss.
- 1:05:57Chef's kiss. Because at the end of the day,
- 1:05:59yeah, it's a psychological thriller.
- 1:06:01But I wasn't. It was predictable.
- 1:06:03I wasn't thrilled. I wasn't thrilled.
- 1:06:05No, I wasn't. I wasn't confused.
- 1:06:07No. I knew what was happening.
- 1:06:08I knew she was fine. I knew she murdered her
- 1:06:10children. It's it's fine.
- 1:06:12I didn't even. What was Jeremy even doing with
- 1:06:14his whole life? Nothing.
- 1:06:15He was just being a little bitch at home.
- 1:06:20So. Anyway, that's it.
