- 3:27US District Judge Richard Berman formally dismissed sdnwy's indictment against Epstein,
- 3:33terminating the criminal action against them. Plaintiff's claims are therefore
- 3:37timely under and why CPLR Section two fifteen eight and
- 3:42ay Jane Doe one thousand, thirty seven. Jane Doe one
- 3:47thousand grew up in extreme poverty. At various times throughout
- 3:51her childhood, her mother had been homeless. Jane Doe was
- 3:54unable to enroll in high school because she did not
- 3:56have a residence and often lived without running water or
- 4:00electricity thirty eight. In late nineteen ninety nine, Jane Doe
- 4:05made a modeling appearance. A man called her and told
- 4:08her that Jeffrey Epstein had connections to various modeling jobs
- 4:12and asked her if she would like to meet with
- 4:13Epstein to discuss opportunities. The opportunity sounded enticing to Jane Doe,
- 4:19so she agreed to meet Epstein at his New York
- 4:21City mansion on seventy first Street thirty nine. Upon meeting
- 4:26Jane Doe, Epstein offered her a position modeling with Victoria's Secret,
- 4:30a lingerie retailer. He explained that he was friends with
- 4:33Les Wexner, the chief executive of Victoria's Secret parent company.
- 4:38Epstein reiterated his connection to Victoria's Secret each time he
- 4:42spoke with Jane forty Eventually, Epstein moved Jane into his
- 4:46apartment building on sixty sixth Street, where he housed other
- 4:49models and young women that he sexually abused, so that
- 4:53he could have compete. That way, he could have complete
- 4:55control over her life. Her relationship with Epstein quickly turned
- 5:00and into one of sexual abuse. Glenn Maxwell, one of
- 5:03Epstein's main recruiters, along with additional unidentified co conspirators, would
- 5:08call Jane Doe and Director to go to Epstein's mansion
- 5:11to give him a massage. The massages quickly escalated into
- 5:15Epstein forcing himself on Jane Doe against her will and
- 5:19engaging in one or more sex acts with her for
- 5:22his own sexual gratification. Jane Doe was terrified of Epstein,
- 5:27who repeatedly threatened her and made representations about his wealth,
- 5:31power and connections. Forty one, During Jane Doe's time with Epstein,
- 5:36he forced her to give him sexual massages and made
- 5:39her use sex toys forty two. Epstein also flew Jane
- 5:43Doe to his residence in Palm Beach, Florida, where she
- 5:46was also forced to give Epstein sexual massages forty three.
- 5:51On one occasion, Epstein forced Jane Doe to meet with
- 5:54a lawyer, even though she did not express any need
- 5:57for a lawyer to Epstein. The lawyer she met with
- 6:00was a prominent attorney and a law professor who was
- 6:03described to Jane Doe as Epstein's close friend and lawyer.
- 6:06The lawyer appeared to be interviewing her, asking personal questions
- 6:09about her family's financial situation. The meeting had no legal purpose,
- 6:14and Epstein later used the information that the lawyer had
- 6:17obtained through this meeting with Jane Doe to intimidate her
- 6:20and keep her compliant in his sex trafficking scheme. I
- 6:24wonder who that lawyer could be? I mean, could it
- 6:27be Alan Dershowitz? Forty four. Epstein made very clear to
- 6:31Jane Doe that he was incredibly wealthy, powerful, and regularly
- 6:35in contact with world leaders. In fact, in his New
- 6:38York mansion, he had photographs displayed of significant political figures
- 6:42to ensure that any young female entering the home would
- 6:45know that he had extensive government connections. Epstein was not
- 6:49to be disobeyed, and he made it clear by his
- 6:51words and actions that there would be consequences if Jane
- 6:55Doe did not comply with his demands. Forty five. Epstein
- 7:01constantly promised Jane Doe modeling opportunities with Victoria's Secret each
- 7:05time she saw him. He continued to make that promise
- 7:08for years up until the last time Jane Doe saw
- 7:12Jeffrey Epstein forty six. One day, Epstein had someone called
- 7:16Jane Doe to his mansion. When Jane Doe arrived, Maxwell
- 7:20was waiting for her and led her upstairs to Epstein's
- 7:22master bedroom. When they got to the bedroom, sex toys
- 7:26were laid out on the bed, Epstein and Maxwell proceeded
- 7:29to sexually assault Jane Doe simultaneously and by forcible compulsion.
- 7:34Maxwell forcibly penetrated Jane Doe with a sex toy. She
- 7:38was horrified and terrified by the experience, and she knew
- 7:42that she had to try to get away from Epstein,
- 7:44even though she risked harm to herself by disobeying Epstein.
- 7:49She proceeded to move out of the sixty sixth Street
- 7:51apartment building, and, having nowhere else to go, found shelter
- 7:55at the Salvation Army Housing Facility. Forty seven. Jane Doe
