- 0:00I had to take a seat for this one. Y 'all got
- 0:04that around. This shenanigans is on the way.
- 0:12Now, it's the summertime. It's nice. A lot of
- 0:19y 'all want to be outside. But for real, why
- 0:27do y 'all really want to be outside? Our winner,
- 0:32you've been working out and getting your body
- 0:34ready. It's time to give a recertification on
- 0:40your dating skills. Now, I'm not in this alone
- 0:47by myself. No, I'm not. But the thing about it
- 0:53is we got to go diving deep. I can't just do
- 0:55this by myself because we got to keep it balanced.
- 1:00You got to see both sides of the whole picture.
- 1:05And that's where some of y 'all be messing up
- 1:07at, not understanding the whole picture. So we're
- 1:11going to give it to you right here. I am Sir
- 1:14Don. Welcome to Mindless Shenanigans. And you're
- 1:18here to get your recertification. Take notes.
- 1:22Take audits. Welcome to Mindless Shenanigans.
- 1:25Where the takes are hot, the jokes are wild.
- 1:29and nothing is off limits. Quick disclaimer,
- 1:32everything you hear is strictly opinion, personal
- 1:36perspective, or just flat out nonsense. We do
- 1:39not condone violence or violence behavior. Don't
- 1:43come for us. This is for entertainment purposes
- 1:45only, not facts, not legal advice, and definitely
- 1:50not safe for any sensitive ears. So buckle up
- 1:53and let the shenanigans begin. Join me today.
- 1:58The one and only joining me, Intrepid. What's
- 2:05up, Sir Dodd? How are you today? I'm chilling.
- 2:08You know, shenanigans all the time, every day.
- 2:12Never ends. I see. Talk to the people. I'm here
- 2:21to find out. Why are people going outside in
- 2:26the summertime and are they ready to go outside
- 2:28and show out? It was inside all winter. Getting
- 2:35their body right. Getting in the wardrobe ready.
- 2:39Are people really claiming they value what they're
- 2:44worth? Or are they a fake dollar bill? I don't
- 2:51know. I don't know if they had a fake dollar
- 2:52bill or they had a $2 bill, which is actually
- 2:55of no worth of any currency. So because it needs
- 2:59to be worth a dollar, that's worth something.
- 3:02But a $2 bill don't have no weight of no currency
- 3:05at all. So I don't know. I don't know. I know
- 3:08one thing that is very slow out here amongst
- 3:12the dating world and what's happening outside
- 3:15and those wanting to be outside. It's about to
- 3:19be real slow for both ends. For both ends of
- 3:24the dating world, unfortunately. We'll have to
- 3:28see. Why you say that? Why you say that? How
- 3:33is it dead on both sides? It's dead on both sides.
- 3:41Excuse me, see? Some of these shenanigans have
- 3:45to be allergic to the bullshit. I'm allergic
- 3:49to the bullshit. You can't fake that. You can't
- 3:54fake that. Not to sneeze twice, though. I need
- 3:59to sit. Get you a Zyrtex. Because that's what's
- 4:12going to be needed out here is a cool, clean
- 4:14Zyrtex D to decongest it. That's what's going
- 4:18to be needed outside. And what the people congested
- 4:21them because, I mean, you already fed me some
- 4:24shit and got me allergic that I'm allergic to.
- 4:26So y 'all already know what time it is. So we
- 4:32just can't start. I don't know. I've been asking
- 4:36some of my girlfriends and just different things
- 4:39like that. Do men out here court women? Is courting
- 4:45dead? I feel like that's the question of the
- 4:49month. Is courting dead? Are women being courted
- 4:55nowadays? I don't think so. I think that people
- 5:00are getting out here and they're wanting to fast
- 5:04date damn a speed date they're wanting to fast
- 5:08date they're wanting to skip over so many different
- 5:11moons just to get to the largest star just to
- 5:17when they get to the largest star which is then
- 5:21the sun they burn the hell up because they're
- 5:23just wanting to just keep jumping over the many
- 5:25moons um so i don't know i want to know like
- 5:31Is courting still alive or is courting dead?
- 5:34What you think? Courting ain't dead. Y 'all just
- 5:40scared. So you're saying courting is not dead.
- 5:44So, okay. So let me ask you, when's the last
- 5:48time that you dated, or not dated, I'm sorry,
- 5:50courted a woman? And what was it like? Walk us
- 5:54through it. Don't sneeze on that. This is what
- 6:03they need to know. This is what everybody needs
- 6:05to know. Right here. When you player one, it's
- 6:12your court. I got the home court advantage. I'm
- 6:16player one. I'm the franchise. Everybody come
- 6:21to the court. Everybody come to see you ball.
- 6:24Come see you shine. Take every shot. Whether
- 6:29you make or miss it, I'm still going to get the
- 6:31applause. So, am I courting? If I approach you,
- 6:38you're getting courted. Period. This ain't basketball.
- 6:45What the hell is you talking about? That you
- 6:47player one and coming on your court. I want to
- 6:53know. See, that's the problem. You didn't answer
- 6:58the question. Is courting dead amongst the dating
- 7:03world? You said no. Then you went into playing
- 7:08ball. Last woman, what did you do? I asked for
- 7:13Instagram. You said before Instagram. I asked
- 7:24for the Instagram. That's what you're asking
- 7:26for. That's what they be giving out. Because
- 7:29to put a woman down, if you approach a woman,
- 7:31how many women are giving out their phone number
- 7:33first? Because I'm not even trying to approach
- 7:35you online. I'm trying to approach you in real
- 7:37life. So I want the phone number. I've got direct
- 7:39access. Not because that's what I needed. That's
- 7:42where I met you at. That's how we found it. So
- 7:44if I come across your profile online and DM you,
- 7:47yeah, that's different. But in the sense of I
- 7:51met you in real life, I'm going to be a fan of
- 7:54you. Yes. But I'm not just hitting that follow
- 7:57button to become a fan. Oh, okay. Well, yeah.
- 8:02No. See, that's that new generational. I don't
- 8:08even know what that is because... I mean, there's
- 8:10people... I mean, hold on, Paul. Before you say
- 8:12generation, let's clarify what generation that
- 8:14you confirming that you're in. My generation
- 8:20that... What decade reign is we getting right
- 8:25now? Because there's you Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z.
- 8:31You know what I'm saying? Listen, back in my
- 8:37heyday, okay, we were... I go back at least three
- 8:42decades, so y 'all do the math. What? Plus. Anyway,
- 8:50we were giving out phone numbers. When we used
- 8:53to be outside, which I like to call it and stuff,
- 8:57like we were going to the malls, we were going
- 8:59to the parks, or we were just kind of just walking
- 9:02outside and different things like that. But if
- 9:06we would go - Yeah, I was outside at the Freakneeks
- 9:08and some more shit. Well, that's for another
- 9:11conversation for another day. But what I'm saying
- 9:13is we, because, okay, so let's take that for
- 9:17instance, right? social media was not around
- 9:20now there was camcorders and different things
- 9:23so if somebody get a hold of that VHS tape then
- 9:25yeah it's on the flow but because there wasn't
- 9:29social media then a lot of things were able to
- 9:32happen and take place that just really won't
- 9:35that we don't really have to worry about resurfacing
- 9:39because again there wasn't social media so it
- 9:41you know none of that can be tracked but anyway
- 9:45we didn't court and date like that back then,
- 9:49we actually got the digits. So we would write
- 9:54stuff down on a piece of paper. You know, like
- 9:58just all of that. How big was your black book?
- 10:07First of all, I didn't have no black book. Let's
- 10:09start there. And second. Again, I came up in
- 10:18two different type of eras. I came up of, again,
- 10:21writing down your phone number. And then once
- 10:24we started getting pagers and beepers and cell
- 10:29phones and those different types of things, then,
- 10:31okay, we started to be able to rock like that.
- 10:35But for the longest time, I mean... I used my
- 10:40parents' home phone to talk and ring. Now, my
- 10:45parents would tell you that when the phone rang,
- 10:47it was most likely always for me. But that was
- 10:50a mixture of my friends, my girlfriends, and
- 10:53guys and stuff like that during my teenage years
- 10:57and different things. But yeah, I did a lot of
- 11:02talking and stuff like that on the phone younger.
- 11:08Yeah. We had to wait till nine o 'clock to get
- 11:10three minutes. Now I had to be off the phone
- 11:14by nine o 'clock. So, so, so if you, so if you
- 11:20wanted to talk to me or my brothers, my brothers
- 11:23will tell you, um, my mom didn't play none of
- 11:27that. Like we had to be off the phone by nine.
- 11:29So, or what is you talking about? I ain't even
- 11:35trying to go outside or wake up too now to go
- 11:37outside. What are you doing? Well, it wasn't
- 11:40like that at my parents because my mom would
- 11:42be quick to pick up the other line and be like,
- 11:46um, it's time for her to hang up the phone. And
- 11:49then don't let like somebody forget that it's
- 11:53nine o 'clock and that phone rang. We weren't
- 11:55even allowed to answer the phone. My mom would
- 11:57answer the phone. And be like, um. it's past
- 12:04time and she can't come to the phone so but yeah
- 12:12so as coming up and like even like i said through
- 12:15just through the many of years and just stuff
- 12:18like that like i said i just i do see an evolution
- 12:21of difference with these different generations
- 12:25and like i said and how they're out here moving
- 12:28Now, there's women out there my age and older
- 12:31who, as they're dating or whatever it is that
- 12:36they're doing, just have these different fantasies
- 12:41and outlooks in regards to what relationships
- 12:44should be. And I feel like one major flaw in
- 12:49that is that people look too much or compare
- 12:52too much to social media, yes. I don't want to
- 12:57be outside on a date and I'm on my phone and
- 13:03he's on his phone. I see that too many times
- 13:06when outside. I feel like conversation is just
- 13:10dead. Who wants to go outside and eat and you
- 13:13on your phone and I'm on my phone? We could have
- 13:16sat at home. I could have been at my house. You
- 13:21could have been at your house and eating, but
- 13:24to go outside and If you just look around. So
- 13:27the next time you go out and you go out on a
- 13:30date, I want you to just take a look around you
- 13:34to see how many actual couples are actually having
- 13:39conversation. That's real. I mean. Like, do you
- 13:49talk when you're out on your date or both of
- 13:51you and her on the phone? I mean. When I'm with
- 13:57you, if I'm not with you on a date, you get my
- 13:59attention. Now, my phone ring, this and that,
- 14:03you know what I'm saying? I'm not constantly
- 14:04checking it, but I usually like to try to not
- 14:07put my phone on do not disturb, but try to schedule
- 14:09and put time to where I shouldn't be getting
- 14:12my phone ringing, right? But for those who have
- 14:16kids, not me, but for y 'all who got kids or
- 14:20different business adventures or... I don't know
- 14:23what you got going on to where your phone might
- 14:25be going off to where I'm not saying silence
- 14:28your phone or nothing, but to where your phone
- 14:30might, you might be on call for your job or certain
- 14:33things like that. But right. Or you might be
- 14:36in some business endeavors that you can't not
- 14:39be offline. Excuse me, but no, I'm not on my
- 14:43phone. I might. Some people think it's rude to
- 14:47have your phone on the table face up or if it's
- 14:49in your pocket and to go off, it look rude to
- 14:50keep going out. I mean, to me, it's more like
- 14:53a preference to understanding. But no, I'm not
- 14:55like on my phone. I'm not checking it. If I'm
- 14:58on my phone while we're out, it's because I'll
- 14:59let me pull up to show you something or to reference
- 15:02something that I'm about to talk about or something.
- 15:04You know what I'm saying? Like that. But to just
- 15:06actually just be on my phone and not engage in
- 15:09conversation or not getting an attention because
- 15:12you're in front of me. No, I think that's mindless
- 15:16and pointless. It's a waste of time. And it's
- 15:20not authentic. So, I mean, yeah, you see it from
- 15:24all ages or all generations, right? You see from
- 15:29the 20 -year -olds up to the 65 and 70 -year
- 15:32-olds when they got what they want. It's all
- 15:37the same thing. Don't mean it's okay, but I guess
- 15:43you got to really ask what they doing on their
- 15:44phone then. And that's real. Well. Nah, because
- 15:51I'm not going to be too much into what all you
- 15:55got going into your phone, even if we're newly
- 15:58dating or even if together and stuff like that
- 16:04for a while. No, not like what you're going on
- 16:06your phone. I'm talking about you saying that
- 16:07you see couples out. on their phone that's the
- 16:10question i'm not talking about if you're getting
- 16:12somebody new or something i'm talking about what
- 16:14you're seeing then like if you're saying that
- 16:16it's a problem that conversation is dead then
- 16:19are you questioning what they're doing on your
- 16:20phone or is it just because people are just sold
- 16:23out to them with their phone and everything there
- 16:25from every part of their life is in their phone
- 16:26whether it be reminders updates work regard like
- 16:31it's all into their phone or in their hand or
- 16:33in their pocket yeah but do all of that like
- 16:36either before Or after you out like that, you
- 16:41outside with your man or your female, like all
- 16:44of that stuff can be done. Like I said, you know,
- 16:48either before or after. I don't think that I
- 16:54don't think that that's something that like now.
- 16:55OK, yes, you made a great point in terms of of
- 16:58OK, if you're on call, then. Then, yes, you know.
- 17:06You may have to have your phone like, you know,
- 17:09readily accessible and stuff like that to be
- 17:11able to answer it or, you know, or anything in
- 17:15regards to that. But if that's not any of the
- 17:19case, then I feel like put your phone up and
- 17:22be able to have conversation because it goes
- 17:25back into again. If you're not able to have just
- 17:31basic conversation with your person. Yeah. then
- 17:36damn a whole long -term relationship down the
- 17:40road, because you're not going to really be able
- 17:43to know how to communicate and talk and really
- 17:45get through any type of hard conversation that
- 17:50is going to definitely come your way. Because
- 17:55a hard conversation or hard conversations are
- 17:59definitely going to come your way. And that's
- 18:03in, any relationship so to go back to your original
- 18:07question and and kickoff is you know are people
- 18:11ready to be outside um and different things i
- 18:15would say that we didn't really have a hard winter
- 18:17this past winter so it's easy to kind of what
- 18:23you laughing at we didn't um so people kind of
- 18:27you know can kind of it was the all season it
- 18:30was the all season for some players You said
- 18:34it was an offseason? I mean, it was an offseason.
- 18:37You're supposed to train, develop, work on your
- 18:39game, get better, get in shape, come back, and
- 18:42try to win MVP or NBA next season. I'm going
- 18:45to tell you like this. I got this exercise tool
- 18:49that I done seen on Teemu, TikTok, Instagram,
- 18:54where I'm supposed to be able to lay on my bed
- 18:57and put my feet in these two little like stirrup
- 19:02type of... Type of thing. Pull them back and
- 19:07forth. And I'm still sitting here with a foofa.
- 19:09So they say. If you do 25 of these a day. That.
- 19:15You know what I'm saying. But don't get it twisted
- 19:16now. Because. Hey. Hey. Everybody. Somebody love
- 19:28it. Somebody love it. You hear me. week. That's
- 19:36what I guess you're talking about. Do your thing
- 19:41and love yourself. Listen, we're not body shaming
- 19:46nobody out here. Love yourself and do what you
- 19:49do. Oh yeah, absolutely. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely.
- 19:55Yes, yes, yes. Everybody needs love. beautiful
- 20:00to just say you just gonna lay on your back and
- 20:02just cut fat off is crazy but that that is the
- 20:06whole like that's the whole that's the whole
- 20:14thing like the whole marketing like that's what
- 20:18they have on tiktok that's what they show on
- 20:22instagram and hope hope hope I hope I just lay
- 20:30back and just don't eat nothing. Damn. They doing
- 20:38y 'all like that? I even have a rolly ball. I
- 20:45even have a, like, where you put your hands up
- 20:49on, like, this little, like, like a half little,
- 20:52like, bike. And you're supposed to roll the ball
- 20:55out in front of you and then roll it back and
- 20:58then roll it back out and then roll it back.
- 21:02But, you know, you have to be consistent with
- 21:04it. And I haven't been consistent. And you do.
- 21:07You do. It's like it takes discipline and time.
- 21:11Right. And patience. So, correct. You're going
- 21:13to get to where you want to be. Yes, you are.
- 21:16But, yes, I do think that I think that courting
- 21:20is dead. I do. You have people that, you know,
- 21:25are being stood up on dates out here in the world.
- 21:33What's being stood up on date? What's being stood
- 21:35up on date? On all ages. You have been stood
- 21:38up on date? I've never think, knock on all types
- 21:42of wood around. No, I have never. You said think.
- 21:46No, I've never. No, I said, let me knock on all
- 21:50the woods. No, I've never been stood up on a
- 21:52date. Now, have I stood someone up on a date?
- 21:56I have, but I've never been stood up on a date,
- 21:59no. What was that like? Walk us through that.
- 22:13I mean, I don't know. I feel like Was in I was
- 22:18in like early 20s like early early 20s still
- 22:22in college I Don't know it was when I was like
- 22:30getting ready and I Was like I don't even ready
- 22:36for was getting ready for the day Because I was
- 22:43gonna meet I was gonna meet meet him you know
- 22:46where we was going um because one thing that
- 22:50my mom like taught me was like you know and especially
- 22:52with me being that like when I came down here
- 22:55to Cincinnati and stuff like that like you know
- 22:57I didn't really have too much friends or too
- 23:00much um you know like family or anything like
- 23:03that down here so if at the end of the day like
- 23:08you know my mom would always like tell me like
- 23:11you know go like you drive yourself so then if
- 23:14something is happening then you can get yourself
- 23:16out of the situation like basically i wouldn't
- 23:18have to you know depend on him for a ride so
- 23:20ladies ladies ladies i even tell my baby girl
- 23:24this like drive yourself to the very first date
- 23:30because what you do not want to do is be stuck
- 23:34to where you have to depend on him. Yes, we have
- 23:36all types of ride share and all of those great
- 23:39things. But if you have a vehicle and different
- 23:42things like that, just drive yourself to the
- 23:46first, maybe like the first one or two dates
- 23:48until you really, you know, really get to know
- 23:50the, you know, the young man or different things
- 23:54like that, you know, just to kind of just keep
- 23:56everything copacetic. And like I said, so you're
- 23:58not never stuck anywhere. you know, drive yourself.
- 24:02So that's what I was doing. I was getting myself
- 24:05ready. And as I walked to my car, I just didn't,
- 24:13I was like, yeah, no, I ain't going. But did
- 24:18you at least call him, right? Did you at least
- 24:20call him and say, hey, I'm sorry, I'm not going
- 24:24to make it. I'm not feeling it. Did you call
- 24:28the restaurant? paging something so we had we
- 24:35had two -way pagers i don't know if you i don't
- 24:38know because i don't know so i don't know if
- 24:40you ever dealt with a two -way pager so we had
- 24:43two -way pagers and yes i did two -way all y
- 24:46'all gotta do is know how long ago that was to
- 24:48have a two -way pager it was a two -way pager
- 24:52so okay so like i said my generational things.
- 24:57We had the pager where you could write 143, which
- 25:00meant I love you. You could write different little
- 25:03codes and you'd have to turn the pager upside
- 25:05down to read the code. I know I'm telling my
- 25:08age anyway. And then we moved to two -way pagers.
- 25:13Then we moved to the little chirp -chirp phones
- 25:17where Blackberry used to have the chirp phone
- 25:21so I could chirp you. That's what it was called,
- 25:24chirping. So how you all do FaceTime, I used
- 25:31to be able to chirp in to a person. So I used
- 25:40to be able to chirp in. So if you was sitting
- 25:44there, God forbid you sitting there with another
- 25:46bride because I'm going to chirp, chirp. And
- 25:49you have to answer. That's why they call birds.
- 25:51And that's why they call birds. first of all.
- 25:58Anyway, because I ain't no damn bird. But that's
- 26:02what it was called was a chirp. And the good
- 26:04thing about it was that you had to answer the
- 26:07chirp. It wasn't just something that you could
- 26:09just kind of ignore. You had to answer that chirp.
- 26:14Yeah, because birds are going to fly everywhere.
- 26:16They're going to keep getting louder and louder.
- 26:23Anyway. Have you ever stood a female up on a
- 26:28date? And be honest. Never. Never ever? Stood
- 26:38her up? No. If I never stood you up, I'd probably
- 26:42be scheduled on you. Never stood you up. If I
- 26:45did, I'm sorry. Because I know that wasn't intentional.
- 26:50So, and I ain't never done forgot or none of
- 26:53that might've been late or something like that.
- 26:56It is just me. She like buddy love, you know
- 26:59what I'm saying? Come up. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- 27:05I want the world to know that I was late and
- 27:07I'm sorry. My car ran out of gas. I need fresh
- 27:11drawers. My mother's sick. My car ran out of
- 27:15gas. Had to take my mom or something. Wait, sorry.
- 27:22I'm sorry. You sorry? So how late have you ever
- 27:26been to a date? Enough. What's enough? To where
- 27:31I wouldn't have waited. So what, 30 minutes?
- 27:35An hour? It depends on how the communication
- 27:38goes. I don't know. And it depends on what kind
- 27:41of date it is. If it's a date to the movie, you
- 27:43already got the tickets in the unit. You're not
- 27:44going to leave the movie, so I'm just late to
- 27:46the movie. Wow. I ain't late to dinner because
- 27:51I like to eat. When you park or something like
- 27:53that, I might tell you to get there before me
- 27:54does so we can make sure we got a table and some
- 27:57different shit. Oh, okay. Okay. So you've never
- 28:03been late to a date, but you've rescheduled.
- 28:06You gave her a rain check then. No, no, no, no,
- 28:12no, no. A rain check is a case like... I guess
- 28:17you can call it that if you reschedule, but...
- 28:20You rescheduled and never went out on a date?
- 28:24No. If I reschedule, we're going to redo it.
- 28:27No. Any date that I plan on something, it either
- 28:31happened or got rescheduled. I ain't just ghost
- 28:35and not show up and not tell nobody. Okay. That's
- 28:39gentleman of you. Ladies, Sir Don is not canceling
- 28:44on no date. You ain't got to worry. about him
- 28:47canceling on no date with you. That's gentleman.
- 28:51That's gentleman. Okay, so what would a lady
- 28:56have to do to get a date? What you looking in
- 29:06the camera for? Tell the people what they want.
- 29:08What they got to do to get a date with Sir Nine?
- 29:11If there's even room for a date, what they got
- 29:14to do? I don't want to get you in trouble. I
- 29:20don't want to get you in trouble. Respect yourself.
- 29:26So, hey, so you said it earlier. They go to the
- 29:30Instagram. So what they got to do, just slide
- 29:32into the Instagram direct messages. I ain't checking
- 29:37all that. That could be a life in the story or
- 29:40something. So, I mean, don't get me wrong. Like,
- 29:43that's cool. You know, you shouldn't send love
- 29:45and appreciation. Yeah, don't get me wrong. If
- 29:49you shoot your shot in the DM, like I said, don't
- 29:53miss. Don't miss. Don't miss. That's what y 'all
- 29:58tell us. Hmm. I'm Kobe. You Kobe. Got you. Got
- 30:14you. Yeah. Well, ladies, be an Angel Reese or
- 30:19A .J. Wilson then, goddamn, because. It's A .J.
- 30:22Wilson. And she a MVP and she Hall of Fame. And
- 30:26all y 'all ain't that. All y 'all ain't the best.
- 30:29Ooh, look how you sound. How you just going to
- 30:35tell them what they is and they is not? There's
- 30:39only one A .J. Wilson who's still playing to
- 30:42dominate the game. Everybody don't need to be
- 30:45Asian Wilson. Everybody don't need to be Kobe
- 30:47or whoever else. We can have different versions
- 30:49of greats. That's what makes the game so good.
- 30:55Everybody got different skill sets. You know
- 30:57what I'm saying? Some people are great at assists.
- 31:00You know what I'm saying? Some people get the
- 31:02easy dunks and get their rebound and good off
- 31:04the rebound. Some people are good at the first
- 31:07step right to the bucket. Some people are good
- 31:10with the flash. Some people got the aura. You
- 31:13know what I'm saying? We're great trash talkers.
- 31:18We're in love with the game. That's what we do
- 31:21it for. Well, I tell you what, they better get
- 31:24them out one of them clipboards with the two
- 31:28courts on them and shit, trying to date you to
