Education Is Not a Guarantee. It Is Access.

School does not always make you better. It gives you access to rooms you could not enter before.

That sounds harsh.

But I think it is closer to what education really does.

We often tell young people a very clean story:

Get more education.

Get a better job.

Make more money.

Become happier.

That story is not completely wrong.

But it is too simple.

Education does not always translate cleanly into skill, wisdom, money, or happiness.

Some of the smartest people I know did not follow a clean school path.
