- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is Steve Downs, the voice of Master Chief, Spartan one one seven.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: With an incoming message for Ryan Green and all, listen to the podcast, it just works.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: Let's finish the fight.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Listen up.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Chief, out.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hello everyone and welcome to the address work spotcast on your host Ryan and we've had a lot of movies come out this summer and to help me talk about them today is a legend to himself.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: Eric.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's some good movies.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's some bad movies.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about a movie that is average, Jurassic Park or Jurassic World Rebirth which I still kind of want to see again to get a final verdict on that.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I didn't see it one more time.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but today, we're here to talk about, I guess what you have to say about Happy Gilmore, too.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't watched it and I have no desire to watch it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: But we are here to talk about Superman of Fantastic Four.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously movies that we wanted to see.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen them can speak up on them.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I might see Fantastic Four again tomorrow.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so we'll see how that goes.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: But let's talk about Happy Gilmore, too.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: But though we're going to talk about Elio.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, by the way, I'm a little bit better than happy Gilmour two and I didn't finish happy Gilmour two.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so let's talk about what you did finish.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know what led you to not wanting to even finish the film because sometimes I don't think you have to finish it.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like you went to the movie.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: So spoiler alert and just letting everybody know.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: So right off the bad dude, it's first off you going here.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Adam Sandler hasn't done a good movie except uncut gems, which was not a comedy.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't even know how long ago that was four or five years.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now, all of his quote unquote Netflix movies, the money that he, the amount of money he got paid for, I gotta help them in money back on those, which if they probably did, because they kept making movies.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: But that being said, the movie starts in its, you know, he literally killed the wife.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: So these are the things that should be while you're talking.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: Say it again.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: I should start the movie while you're talking.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's probably like five minutes in.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's, you know, the normal, there's known.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't really, it doesn't happen if they even tried and happy yours, you know, a good movie for the most part of it's fun.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas the second one, they
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: you know he's down on his luck he's depressed he's not golfing and then you find out why and he did his normal thing and he killed his wife of the golf ball essentially and again you find that out maybe the first five or ten minutes and then it goes from there where for some reason they had all these kids and it just wasn't good the story wasn't good you know it was the normal
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like there wasn't anything new to the story where he's like a normal story where it's like down the dads down on his in the dumps and here's the reason why and nothing's helping him and he's got no money and he stopped playing golf and all these things and then he started to get all the the cameos which was just a lot
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a lot you know and Nothing was hitting nothing was funny.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: I got about forty minutes in
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got to where the part of Travis Kelsey comes in, which again, why the fuck is Travis Kelsey in there?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, really, I think that was a waste.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why he's in there.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: And bad bunnies with him, like at the same time.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I mean, that's as far as I got.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: There's not much to it.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't think it was good.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: Don't really want to finish it.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's my happy Gilmore, too, review.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's like showing like what he's built to you since the original ending as our original movie ends kind of right put to one SNL video games de-aged.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Show them currently.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they do a lot of weird deals with family.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: They also do a lot of fucking cut.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of callbacks and cuts to the original movie like you don't remember it or you've never seen it or you haven't seen it in a while.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which again kind of just takes it out takes you out of the story because they're telling you talking talking and then boom here's happy Gilmar the first one Yeah, it really wasn't it just wasn't working for me anyway, so Yeah, and I think yeah, so she just
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: got hit on the ceiling and then died.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, so he's drinking and he's self-loathing and they literally just couldn't make.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's never mind.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Just stop making.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: So before I hate that everyone's done it.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: How far did you go?
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: What's the time?
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know like not even it doesn't it shows what's left of our fifty three left so pretty fucking quick I mean yeah since even talking it's only been three four minutes exactly and just like that's how you started off and uh... which is funny because Savannah's dad was saying like
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, most of these comedy sequels don't even bring back the love interest and stuff.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'd say that fucking quick.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: What's the point of even brainer back for her to die?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the thing, right?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: They bring her back.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, okay, that's going to cool, right?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: I got the original girl.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: She's from that one show that was on for a while and she did that for a reason.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: He still looks the same.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think the other thing kind of threw me off was like, his actual wife is in it.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: as the dance coach and then his real daughters are in it.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: One of them is his daughter.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: The other one is his AA counterpart, like somebody that he's going to AA with.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: So that kind of throws it off a little bit because like they look, well the younger one I think is the younger one.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: Looks like the mom but the one that's in AA looks like Adam Sandler.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a kind of a distraction I think to me.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: Um, they brought back them in their movies.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really too.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so you haven't seen a lot of his movies recently.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: His wife's in like every single movie they've made since they've made.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I can catch it, but anyway.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, it's just a little bit of a distraction, I guess.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: When I like the ending has a nod to Tommy Boy, it literally ends almost the exact same way, where Chris Farley's character is just walking on the side of a road with his belongings.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, happy's doing the same thing.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know that Chris Farley's brothers in the movie.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: They just, this movie was like Adam Sandler and friends.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a happy Gilmore in the sense of like,
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, recapturing the original, it's just a bunch of bullshit.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: The original wasn't meant, I mean, yeah, I had fucking Bob, what's his name?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: Fucking, what's it?
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is it Bob Parker?
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Bob Parker.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: I get it, like there's things they did in the original that can probably be meant to today.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: But just knowing that bad bunny and Travis Kells here in it, I don't even give a fuck about the movie.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even care if they're good actors.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Why do they need to be in it in things?
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: They're faces fucking bother me.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: I see Travis Kells, he's stupid fucking smile and his stupid hairdo, and I just want nothing to do with it.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like him.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know why because obviously he's an incredible football player and the problem is he knows that and he I feel like the way he carries himself is like a douche Yeah Who knows that he's great and because of Pat my homes has six rings because his Kelsey's great.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's a person or the refs It's the refs and Pat my homes.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't be Kelsey.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'll play that much.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's pat over him any day the week.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, but
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I think, just, I can't let that go.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't give a fuck to see this dude in something I'm watching.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Even if he's not even, I don't know if he's in it for like a little bit.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's in it for a lot, but it just, the trailers didn't look good.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: You couldn't even finish the movie.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like you give things a benefit of the doubt.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: I tried.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I will preface this by saying we're not the biggest Adam Sandler fans.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not like I think Lil Dick is great.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think Billy Madison's fine happy Gilmore's great water boys fucking awesome growing ups is fucking stupid.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: I might care when I have kids.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care now.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna care the crazy nights is amazing.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Click is amazing.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then click is where it started to go downhill and I just did not give a fuck.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: I like click for what it is, and it has the best emotional things ever for a man.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: But after that, I mean, uncut gems I didn't watch, but I know his performance is amazing in it.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: I know it is.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen clips.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I just don't, I like Adam Sandler with a guitar doing stand-up.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like him in his movies.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: I actually think he's really funny.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think his movies are good.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of his characters in his movies, whether it was grown-ups or this or that or whatever, like they all kind of start to mesh together because he's doing kind of the same thing.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: Even when you see some of his
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: some of it stand up.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: There are some rehashed things and his voice obviously when he changes his voice to do songs and stuff like that can be a little irritating or whatnot.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I mean, I haven't, I can't remember the last, well, that's not true.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm good gems.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: That was the last time I sound like movie that I actually finished and liked.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because of this, I'm going to watch it and then we're going to follow it on it.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: You should know, I'm in fucking happy Gilmore too.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I feel stupid to talk about something I haven't seen.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: I just went on Travis Kelsey Rans, like not even about him.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like I should watch the film and then follow up on it.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because I want you to see primitive war.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Sick.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: The new trailer is so good.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see the new trailer?
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see one trailer.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's fucking amazing dude.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: It looks good.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: It looks really good.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm excited to shit.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it's decent.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't even care if it's like not great.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: As long as it makes sense, I mean, in terms of, you know, no fuck, I don't know, I swear to God, if he's fucking guys who are looking for the missing green braise quad, have to fucking save a family in a little girl, takes a dinosaur off.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be so pissed.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be so mad.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: For some reason, I don't think that's gonna happen, right?
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I wouldn't put a pass them.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: You think people would learn.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we also have Alien Earth coming, which I'm really excited about with Timothy Olfin.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's one of the TV show.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's one of the way that an Android's.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, um, okay.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: They always seem to be the best characters and everything that as Alien, you know, Michael Fazbender, perfect.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: What's his face?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think a printer.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Holy shit, this predator look good.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's second trailer.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was sold on the first.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think people were overreacting, but God damn, does that maybe look good?
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I love, I mean, it does suck.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: I have to confirm it.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: And they probably might have this weekend with, uh, you know, this week with Comic Con.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: But it is, like, not the same timeline.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: It has nothing to do with, like, the original.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if I care or not to be honest with you.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, as a solo thing, I mean, why would you?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I love Predator.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the best sci-fi movie monster there is.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anything giving comes close in my opinion.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Besides the xenomorph.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: I love what they're doing with it.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: The premise behind it makes sense.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's what their culture is in there.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hate that or something like that.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're, yeah.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's something like that.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's YA, something something but yeah, it's like part of their culture.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love everything about it.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: I love that it's just something different and that there's a wail and Android in it, which I think is fine.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think Alien vs Predator like that idea of them being in the same universe is fine.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's a problem unless they make the movies the same way as the originals.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't wait to see what happens with this.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: movie I'm excited I know we weren't planning on talking about like movie previews but those those two movies like having really hyped uh... conjuring last rights uh... i think there's something else coming out this year that's really good towards the end i don't know i can't think i know there's something i can't think of what it is but and everything else that before we want to uh... will do superman first because i think that one's easier
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so yeah, James gun launches his DC universe and it starts with Superman technically peacemaker, but it kind of got shoehorned in because there's like a last minute project in the DC EU, but now the DC use here and not trying to play catch up with Marvel or anything.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: I just think
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: James Gun wants to have fun with these characters that he's clearly familiar with.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: And Superman for us, I know I can speak upon this for Eric, he's not like a big hero for us, like we're not huge fans.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's technically OP and yes, he doesn't show himself as being OP until he's fighting for the ones he loves literally, you know, because usually he can save everyone else by not being OP.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, it's just not, it's not Batman.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just put it bluntly.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's not bad, man.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think the cast was perfectly placed in this film.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: The trailers look good.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: I like James Guns directing style.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's always team ups.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: There's always these unknown characters.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: He puts in movies, you know, when you think of Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I had no big expectations for the overall story.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I did know that I would enjoy that.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me, the James Gun formula.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: from trailers so actually sitting there watching it I enjoy the film I think it's like I could just you know flat out say it now I think it's like an easy eight point five out of ten I think it's a great film I can't wait to watch it again when it comes to streaming services again on the biggest Superman fans I don't think I need to go back to the movies to watch it
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: But it is a great film.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: Nathan Filling killed it.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a lot of biases here because I like a lot of a cast.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I think what they did in their roles, especially the guy playing a Mr. Terrific, you know, damn near good.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: But Eric, what did you think of Superman, like overall, and was there anything that you wish would have been different about it?
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Not necessarily.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I kind of echo everything that you just said basically.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the supporting characters were pretty strong, which helped the Superman in general, but you know, like you said, I don't really care for the character of Superman.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I thought they did a really solid job of, you know, just kind of
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: I guess making me, unless I care, but like it, really, it's pretty cool.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's really happy with it.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: It looked good from the previous James guns done a lot of good stuff in the last couple of years, mostly Guardians.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: I watched Guardians three just a week ago, and I was like, man, this is really pretty good.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: This is really good.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then what the hell was a peacemaker?
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, that was solid.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: I like the energy, you know, the stories done, you know, in my opinion done pretty well.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it was, it was very, it was good.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: It definitely was better than I had expected.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: Lois Lane, Rachel Brosnan, you know, does a good job and they make her useful.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: They don't just make her some dams all or like, you know, the love interest.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: They actually make her useful and she gets out in the field.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: She's working with Mr. Terrific and then the same thing with like Lex Luther where Lex Luther's up.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I mean, when you think about it, Lex Luther's just a human being with some money.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: I guess he's smart as well, but compared to Superman as a character, there's really not much of a comparison.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: I guess the Superman does tone it down because he understands what humans are.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that Nicholas Holtman and being Lex Luther really was a good, was done well.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I was very happy with that.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because then I don't, again, not the biggest DC person, but I don't find Lex Luther as like a villainous character.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, I guess it's just preference.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I don't really follow DC too much, but it was very good.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Lex Luther's pretty goddamn methodical.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's a shoot when his is one rage towards yeah, yeah, he wasn't the film to like they definitely capture that no doubt, but yeah, he's pretty Helvent on ruining Batman's life.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry Superman's life
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was really cool to see the hall of justice from the outside in the film.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was like so fucking cool.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: Whether it's from video games or just like the animated shows, it just felt right to see it the way they did it and I thought that was really cool.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't I don't know.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really have an issue with the movie.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: I got to be honest.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was fine.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it would have been cool if like the robots at the, you know, Superman's like home base essentially mini-crypton in ice.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it would have been cool if they put up more of a little bit of a fight.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: because no matter how strong they make, Ultraman, and you know, whatever her name is, look, it doesn't matter.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, see, it runs gonna kick their ass.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it would have been cool to see some kind of fight, and obviously that's where crypto kind of comes in.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of crypto,
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Before we talk about like what other people thought I'd have to film for you know and how we react that what did you think of like crypto like you think it was too much I mean he's in the comics like he's he's a very important character to Superman's life depending on the storyline you're reading Did you did you mind the dog at all as you think it was too much maybe annoying overbearing wasting time on the screen No, I thought it was fine.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a I think it kind of
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: meet him a little bit more humid.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: To some degree.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: It also gave him a little bit of a... It just made, I don't know, just gave it a little bit extra.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was bad.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the dog was done right.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: It was used.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was not in it that much.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I did think that it was done properly.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I was fine with it honestly.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, look good.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it wasn't overpower, OP or anything like that, like they didn't show too much to make it like unbelievable either.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I thought like what made him human see was just his relationship with his parents.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they did a pretty nice job of just showing that in the time that they did when he goes home and
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: you know, the relationship he has with his dad, obviously the mom, you know, of course it's a good relationship, but showing how much his adoptive dad cares so much about him.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it was pretty cool, you know, I feel like, in most movies I watch, they don't show like a realistic form of that relationship.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought they did a wonderful job in this one, not that you're going to the movies to see it, you know, that scene.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, oh, this is nice, you know, it's touching.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: gives Superman more of his more motivation to do the right thing is is adoptive parents believe in him and back him and everything that he stands for and they know that he's doing the right thing and the definitely gives him focus and motivation to be the best that he can be for everyone around him which is the whole point of his character essentially so that that was really cool
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people couldn't get past the James gun directing when it comes to this film.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of critics I watch, not that they're the end all be all.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's obviously Europe and you need to inform it.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: But a lot of people when it comes to this film just couldn't get past the Guardians type vibe that he gives with his directing and the Justice Gang team ups.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would say in some regard, this movie really just like Guardians one most likely with some critiques.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people just clearly don't know about some things comic.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: book related or maybe they're just not translated well on screen.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: So like the Justice King from what I'm trying to understand.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like that is literally what they called themselves before.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: They moved on to become the Justice League.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: And so forth.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I wonder if just some people.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like maybe the thing is that people feel like they shouldn't have to look something up to appreciate it in a film.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that's why they have issues with it.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: but a lot of other people believe that superman shit has just been the only one in this film and I just think people think of men as steel because it was a complete solo film and there might have been mention or easter eggs of other characters but there wasn't any in the film I don't believe I've never seen it but I know I've seen a ton of clips and I don't see anything
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that they did the better thing to show him like still a newer Superman working with others, because clearly the world has others, like I don't.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's too big of a character to just have his own movie in my opinion, in the sense of like there wouldn't be other meta humans around.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: There wouldn't be people with powers around.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's almost too big to not see them in his day-to-day life in some fashion.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess it's just how I look at it, considering the character.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: But there's also been plenty of movies where he's completely by himself.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: And there's no other guest appearances or other heroes helping him out.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that this was a better direction to go and also skip the typical origin story.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: I do think, which is why I kind of lowered it a little bit on the rating.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: that apparently the message from his parents that arrested the other half of it being like conquer earth and shit thought it was like kind of stupid um kind of weird the way they went about that because it's never been the case from when I'm to understand like his parents always wanted him to come to earth because they felt it was a place that he could help and not like take over or anything like that so I thought that was strange like that was a weird decision
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I did think the nano bot chick was kind of stupid too.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really care for that too much.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really care for it.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like I didn't seem like out of place.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: She looked like a leftover leftover Zack Snyder character thrown into this film, especially without fit and stuff.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: It just didn't sit right with me.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: I wish there was a different way to that he defeats Ultraman.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like it wasn't just crypto just taking out cameras.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think it's cool.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I wish that like Superman would have been like no, like fuck you, like just annihilates him.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I guess that was kind of.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just cheesy.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like terrible.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's just cheesy.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like Lex Luther playing a fighting game with all of his people in their weird command center.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that looked kind of stupid to you every time they kind of showed it.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: like because they look like they're just like doing dance dance revolution, pressing things on a keyboard.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, just they kind of took me out a little bit every time they showed it.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're too excited to be beaten the shit out of Superman.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Cause like realistically, he's the one with a grudge, like not the other characters.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I get it, they're just their job whatever, but just kind of seemed off a little bit.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: It almost seemed, and again, I know what comic book characters and they think of the cartoons, but it seemed a little too cartoony, like,
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: like newspaper comic kind of goofy.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess that's kind of true as far as the, um, those people like, oh, a four is a, you know, as an attacker, whatever.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't mind it.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think too much about it, I guess.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: But when you do say like that, it's, I guess that makes some sense.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: Or it's a little, it was a little lippy.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's because we're sitting about it now that I analyze it and think about it, but if you don't really, if you just watch the movie for what it is, it's not the end of the world, it's just more of like looking into it, I just felt like, because I've played in justice, I've seen the cartoons, I've seen some of the HP, you know, the movies, the dark ass movies they've made, like Lex Luther is extremely methodical as I've already mentioned, and he is in this movie too, and it's like, they should have just committed to him in like a suit of armor, fighting him.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: because the guys he had in the armor on the beach literally had his colors.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: and then it looks like it might have been a scrapped idea because even the merchandise for this movie has him with his armor so I wonder if there was something there and he does beat the shit out of Superman and it's like pretty cool because Superman's like trying so hard to like get this guy to see that he's not the bad guy here because he's you know Superman's obviously taking it back like why the fuck do you want to kill me so bad you know and because he does he kind of just has like a straight up just like I hate you I want to kill you kind of vibe
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: and at some point Superman breaks because he's just tired of Lex Luther always chasing him and we're lentlessly too and so and then obviously threatens like lowest and all that so I just felt like they could have pushed it towards that direction but I still love the film like I don't think it's battery anything
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Justice Game was great.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Lois Lane was way better than Amy Adams, which sucks because I think Amy Adams is a great actress.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think I think she's just too old to be Lois Lane wasn't very convincing.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Rachel did way better in my opinion or was just given a better script.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like all the characters, Jimmy Olson was great.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like Slyther's girlfriend was annoying as fuck, but whatever.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: That was the other thing that was kind of like stupid about the movie in my opinion.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's pretty much it.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it wasn't, I mean, it wasn't, it was probably wasn't necessary, but I didn't really think too much about that one.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: In the grand scheme of things with the movie, it didn't really affect, to me, it didn't really affect it.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, it's just it's funny.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like two of the degree Lex Luther's demise is his social media looking love and monster feet girlfriend.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's in love with Jimmy Olson.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: I wish it was different.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's all.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Anything else on Superman?
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's pretty much it for me.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to see what they do next.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Guy Gardner comes back Nathan Phillian's Green Lantern comes back in the Green Lantern TV show that features all three Green Lantern's How Jordan and John Stewart.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty excited to see that piece maker season two that trailer look pretty good kind of excited to see there.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you want to look at it.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: It looks pretty good.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're probably already running out of time.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll make sure and get to it.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think I have a timer right here.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's happened with Alex the other day too.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: So now we're going to do like a part two of the oblivion podcast.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: You just see that that is forty cast the Batman.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brandon, Skeller, whatever.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it makes sense.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think you'd kill it.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think he would do such a good job as like a DCU Batman.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: He just has that look.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm ready for sure.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still excited for Robert Pattinson too, so.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: So Fantastic Four came out.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: We watched it last Thursday.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a few days, as I said, I'm probably going to see it tomorrow.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of Fantastic Four having sit on it for a little bit?
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I didn't hate it, but I feel like some of it was, I feel like it was overhyped.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they kind of wasted Galactics a little bit.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: Um, in just the fact that there wasn't a lot of screen time with him.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: There wasn't, you know, there just wasn't a lot of time with him.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, silver surfer looked was cool.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody looked great.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: The movie looked good.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: The family interacts well.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, I mean, that's kind of, that's kind of, that's kind of it.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's worth, it's worth a watch.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't, I wouldn't say I loved it.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: I probably give it a
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: Robin, six and a half seven.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: As of right now, I think it's like a seven out of ten.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, I'm probably going to see it tomorrow, but I probably wouldn't want to watch it again for sure.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I just think the third act was
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: so obvious that they had rewrites or something went wrong because it just it just fell flat like the entire movie is honestly pretty goddamn good it does get a little bit slow but there without giving spoilers okay we got two minutes left thanks zoom um... without giving spoilers like
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: it's great up until the third act galactist was completely wasted not like not utilize at all and I'm pretty sure he's just gonna come back for fucking battle world but it's just so annoying that we finally got a like extremely comic book accurate galactist silver surfer was great i don't give a fuck about the haters like she's fine um... would have been cool to see like her husband die and that's why she took up the mantle but whatever i don't know why they couldn't do that would have been cool yeah um...
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was so good and it's just like he's not in it.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: The fight with him is pretty much pathetic.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: The ending of this movie gives you nothing to walk away with.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: The first two acts again are fantastic.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Literally fantastic.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I love the interaction with the family.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: All of the actors did a wonderful job.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: Pedro Pascal subverted expectations.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: He was a good read-richer.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: He was a read-richer that was conflicted.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: because he's still trying to be logical and intelligent, but also not, you know, sacrifice things for the greater good.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: He was conflicted.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like he showcased that.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: I still wish he was John Krasinski, like no offense to him, but I still wish he was John at the end of the day, because I think he was also like the splitting image of what we wanted as a read Richards, but whatever, or the OG guy had to be honest.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, they got all that right, but it's the Kirby was great Joseph Quinn.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Chef was great.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: Herbie was good.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, even like the intro was better than Superman.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: So one of the things about Superman, which if we had to mention, everything's told to you in text, whereas fantastic four, they just show you montages of what happened to these characters, why they are the way they are, and what they've done with the powers given to them from the accident, whereas Superman, just kind of,
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: gave you like a Star Wars type of start and then here you go, which I just felt like it was lazy to be honest.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: But Fantastic Four, I love it.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just really sad that it feels like the ending was rushed to get us to doomsday.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it feels like a stab to true Fantastic Four fans, which were not, like I love Fantastic Four, but I'm not gonna be like, oh my god, I get what to play as these characters or like we don't about them.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just feel really bad for Fantastic Four fans, because they got a damn good representation of their favorite characters, just for it to be stripped away at the end.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because spoiler alert, I'm just going to talk about it right now.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: So spoilers, I'm just going ahead because I everything about this movie and its critiques for me are just the ending.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: So you've been warned, please turn this off if you haven't seen the ending.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: But Eric, when they're fighting Galactus and Pedro Pascal is getting ripped apart, I wish they would have committed to it.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: So Franklin literally gets his showcases powers.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he's just a toddler, he's still knowledgeable enough to know his parents are dead.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: And he could have showcased how he can re-reverse things and change time.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: And it would have been so cool to just show it.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then that's when the parents would have realized, oh shit, our son is, this is why Galactus wants him so bad.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I just felt like that was a massive missed opportunity.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: to just give us a little bit more.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: The whole movie's basically about Franklin not being fucking sacrificed.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: So what better way to end it than them coming together after he resurrects them to fight.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I just felt like there could have been something different there.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, when I was watching that, I did think like, I was shit.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually gonna like kind of rip him apart or stretch him so far.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: He can't make it back or something like that.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: But I agree.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think that would have been cooler to be honest.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just think it would have been nice.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been a subtle thing.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: It showcases why to the fans who don't know the comics, who don't know about a world, why Dr. Doom wants this kid.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like this one's this kid.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: People who, they kind of understand there's people who have no fucking clue what these characters are and why they're so important.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I just felt like that could have easily showcased that to people.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been a more satisfying ending.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been a better fight.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: It could have made it last a little bit longer.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: They still could have got rid of him the same way by the way.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay with that.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'll even mind the way he got taken out.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the fact that there was nothing about like Ben Grimm did almost nothing at all.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: like yeah it's just it was such a waste of all the characters Johnny but I will say this you know obviously this isn't really spoilers and I'll just leave it at the ending being spoiled in terms of like the fight but like just of Quinn I thought killed it as Johnny Storm and like all these articles kept coming out that like somehow he's not like a traditional
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: like manly cell for like, you know, womanizer or like, you know, guy who's like, yeah, women, women are swoon.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how do you say something like that?
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're not like, they're wooed by him and all that, right?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: And they still showed that in the movie and I thought it was so great the way they did it.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was very believable.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like over the top.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't stupid.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: him, him being in fact, you know, it's silver surfer was like cool in my opinion, like it made, I mean, it's what he's interested in.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: He all he cares about is going back to space.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's got some being woman that, you know, for all he knows, you know, I don't know.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think it was that bad.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just really hate the third act.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: I just hate the ending.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I didn't, I agree with you.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think that, and I had seen that too.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, yeah, he's not as, you know, the same as he was.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he was fine.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think he had a little bit of the old stuff.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Just hung back a little bit, which I don't see as a problem.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I mean, again, again, he go back to a lot of Galactus.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was just,
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think what you said actually would make it would make it more believable because they couldn't do anything.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for the most part, you know, Sue Storm was able to do stuff, but really she didn't do too much, right?
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: She just used most of her powers to get whatever.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that would have really shown what Franklin is to then make it.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: understood why, like you said, why I got access once and why Dr. Doom wants them and then bring those characters back just like you said.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think that actually would have been really good.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I also think that, you know, I think that concern is like not making, not making the movies too long, but I feel like with an extra maybe thirty minutes or less, really kind of done a little bit more to make it just a tad bit better.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, I agree.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just, you know, I think as we're talking about it, it would have gave more validity to the point of the movie, which is them trying to figure out, you know, is does he have powers or not?
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: That was what they're trying to figure out before he was even born.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then Galactus is now telling them, yeah, the mother fucker, he's got powers.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then it would have made it, they spent too much of the dialogue on the movie trying to figure out what his powers are and they don't even show it.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like she just wakes up.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I was just like, man, this seems like a cop out.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: And like her holding him off for as long as she did, totally believable.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know that her powers are absolutely wicked.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought that was badass.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Joseph Quinn.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: I love how like heroic or I'm sorry, Johnny Storm.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like how heroic they made Johnny Storm to be to save his sister, you know, his family.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: I might damn do.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: They did such a good job.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then kind of threw it away at the end.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because in the cartoons and in the Chris Evans era stuff, he was really kind of a cocky
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: He was very selfish.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_02]: And he was still had a little bit of that cockiness, but he wasn't.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: He was actually, you know, the flip side of that.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I agree with that for sure.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_02]: I have to watch it again.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's some point.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, whether it's in the theaters or not, then.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, Joe wants to see it and I was like, well, I'll go with you dude and we can go early.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, the third act is just very disappointing.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I still think the movie is a seven out of ten.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love all the actors.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: It felt like a really good Marvel movie since end game.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Easily the best for me since end game besides Deadpool, but I feel like Deadpool doesn't really count.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's still as like a traditional Deadpool movie.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: They just threw MCU stuff in there because it sees me they had a connected anyways.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think the only miss really the biggest miss on this I think was what I was concerned with which is you know, they didn't have enough time they have this much time
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: to do this much work, right?
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: And as good as the movie was to be just a fantastic for movie, it didn't add or do anything to progress the main story of Thoom's Day except having him there at the end, which was a split second you don't see much.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I love the answer.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: The way that Thoom's Day goes the movie and all the whatever's next.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah, I agree with Eric.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we got less than a minute unfortunately, but yeah, so that's pretty much fantastic for it.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: They wasted the ending.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: They should have just made it a singular movie that does connect to Doomsday, but it felt so forced at the end that like Eric said, there's no real setup besides the obvious Dr. Doom cameo at the end.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a little unfortunate.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: But what the see what happens, Eric, you so much for me on the podcast.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys for listening.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: We will see you on the next episode.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: Peace.
