- 0:00Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570. Dodie, can we end?
- 0:02Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Ron?
- 0:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:06Speaker 4: Oh, Ron.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I've been listening.
- 0:10Speaker 5: I listened all the way to.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Michigan about all this Trump listen. Everybody has a right
- 0:16Speaker 2: to disagree with Trump. And I understand how some people
- 0:20Speaker 2: would find this super disturbing, the fact that he got
- 0:23Speaker 2: this DOJ tax.
- 0:25Speaker 5: You're not going to look into his taxes.
- 0:28Speaker 2: But what people seem to forget is if you were Trump,
- 0:32Speaker 2: What would you do? Let's not forget the fact that
- 0:35Speaker 2: they sued this man from one side of the country
- 0:37Speaker 2: to the other. Russia, Russia, Russia, two impeachments, Ukraine phone call,
- 0:42Speaker 2: New York business fraud. They valued Mar-a-Lago at like, I
- 0:46Speaker 2: don't know, something insane. All the January 6th, the classified
- 0:51Speaker 2: documents BS, the Georgia election case, all the civil lawsuits.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And we're questioning why would he want this? Why would
- 1:01Speaker 2: he want this agreement? It doesn't take a nuclear scientist
- 1:05Speaker 2: to figure out why he would want this for him
- 1:07Speaker 2: and his kids. They have shown that they will do
- 1:10Speaker 2: anything and everything that they can in their power to
- 1:14Speaker 2: destroy him. Now, you people are upset about the Iran.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I get it because everybody wants economic stability. Everybody wants
- 1:24Speaker 2: the war to end. I do, too. I'm sick of
- 1:27Speaker 2: paying at the pump, too. But we are, Americans are like,
- 1:31Speaker 2: we need resolution today, right now, today. We want it
- 1:34Speaker 2: solved today. Everybody knows the timeline that's pending, right? That's
- 1:38Speaker 2: the election coming up. We have to give them the time.
- 1:42Speaker 2: We got to give them the time. And if it drops,
- 1:44Speaker 2: then everybody, you know, and everybody should be questioning it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I agree with that. There's days I question it more
- 1:50Speaker 2: than others. But overall, we have to give them a
- 1:53Speaker 2: little bit of time. Before we have to burn the
- 1:56Speaker 2: whole house down. Can't we give them a little time
- 1:58Speaker 2: before we burn the house to the ground? That's all
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm saying. And if it was you and they sued
- 2:05Speaker 2: your daughter, your son, your wife, every person you knew
- 2:09Speaker 2: and through every lawsuit tied you up in court, you know,
- 2:12Speaker 2: tried to bankrupt you. Do you see why he might
- 2:16Speaker 2: want to do this?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Oh, I absolutely see why he would want to do it.
- 2:21Speaker 1: But I would do it too.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And any reasonable person would do it. Not because you
- 2:27Speaker 2: have something to hide. Listen, they've already gone through all
- 2:29Speaker 2: this finances a million different ways sideways.
- 2:32Speaker 6: I mean.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Well, let's back up here.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Give me an aye-aye, Captain, because I deserve one on that.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You know I.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Crushed that point.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I crushed it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I crushed it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You know, sit down here, Beavis. Now, listen to this.
- 2:44Speaker 2: No, I don't want Beavis. Give me a different name.
- 2:47Speaker 5: For my thing.
- 2:47Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Settle down, Beavis. Don't you remember that? All right, here's...
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm giving you..
- 2:51Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a nickname. All right, what?
- 2:52Speaker 1: Here is the deal. I mean, everyone should realize what
- 2:56Speaker 1: brought this on to begin with. I mean, you had
- 2:58Speaker 1: somebody at the IRS that leaked the tax returns. Tax
- 3:03Speaker 1: returns are privates. They're not supposed to be made public.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I'll give fault where fault goes. So you had a
- 3:10Speaker 1: person there that leaked Trump's personal tax return, which is
- 3:13Speaker 1: against the law. Also, Sean Hannity's and other conservatives. All right.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So the guy literally in his position with the IRS
- 3:20Speaker 1: stole this information and released it. And I blame him,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and he is in jail. In addition to that, though,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I blame the media because I blame the New York
- 3:31Speaker 1: Times and the media that took information that was stolen
- 3:36Speaker 1: and should have never been published because it was stolen
- 3:38Speaker 1: in private and published in any way because of their
- 3:43Speaker 1: hatred of Trump or Sean Hannity or conservatives. So they
- 3:49Speaker 1: publish this stuff mainly because of conservatives. And that's why
- 3:54Speaker 1: they put it out there, Hannity's and more. And these
- 3:58Speaker 1: media entities should be sued and should have to make
- 4:02Speaker 1: these individuals whole as a result of putting out this
- 4:06Speaker 1: stolen information. They should be on the hook for it
- 4:10Speaker 1: because they were the ones that made it public. Now,
- 4:14Speaker 1: hang on. So they have liability on this. And if
- 4:19Speaker 1: I go one step further, okay, so they put this
- 4:22Speaker 1: fund together as a settlement with him. That's all well
- 4:26Speaker 1: and good. That tax return should have never been let
- 4:30Speaker 1: go to begin with. But to get a blanket waiver..
- 4:34Speaker 2: What has Biden done? And I'm not saying just because
- 4:38Speaker 2: one does it, the.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Other one has to do it. What Biden did was
- 4:42Speaker 1: he did all this stuff for his family. Now, if
- 4:46Speaker 1: Trump leaves and pardons his family, I guess you could say, well,
- 4:49Speaker 1: what's the big deal? Biden did it as well. So
- 4:52Speaker 1: is that where we want to go, though, as a
- 4:54Speaker 1: country where your family can get away with stuff? Listen,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I haven't read enough about it, but
- 5:00Speaker 1: I see people talking a lot about the Trump kids
- 5:03Speaker 1: that you don't see a lot of are making a
- 5:05Speaker 1: ton of money.
- 5:07Speaker 2: They had a lot of money before all this.
- 5:09Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Maybe they did.
- 5:10Speaker 1: This is outside that. Maybe they're making money on stock.
- 5:12Speaker 5: But let me tell you why.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I don't know enough about it yet to say one
- 5:15Speaker 1: way or the other. But if it's the case, if
- 5:18Speaker 1: they are making money because of their father's position, it
- 5:22Speaker 1: doesn't make it any more right than when Hunter Biden
- 5:25Speaker 1: was doing it because of his dad's position. You follow
- 5:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying? If you got one standard for one,
- 5:30Speaker 1: then you by God better have it for the other side.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I understand that. And I agree with that. I'm saying
- 5:36Speaker 2: that is smart. It is smart to put protections in
- 5:39Speaker 2: place as soon as he leaves office. And if we
- 5:44Speaker 2: lose the Senator of the House or both, they're going
- 5:47Speaker 2: to impeach him. And they're going to start suing him
- 5:50Speaker 2: all over again.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I would do this.
- 5:52Speaker 2: They dragged him to hell. They called him everything from
- 5:54Speaker 2: a traitor to this to that. They made him, they
- 5:58Speaker 2: dragged him through the mud for years. All politically motivated.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I would do the same thing. And I would do
- 6:07Speaker 2: it for my children. I would do it for anybody
- 6:08Speaker 2: who was around me that I had to protect. It
- 6:10Speaker 2: makes no sense. Trump has had a bazillion dollars before.
- 6:13Speaker 2: He'll have a bazillion dollars after. He doesn't need the
- 6:17Speaker 2: money anymore. And I could totally understand why he.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Would do that.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And I think you could, too, because we know how.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Bad it was.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I mean, would they value Mar-a-Lago at? It was like
- 6:29Speaker 2: something insane. I mean, just any way that they could.
- 6:32Speaker 2: They had him tied up in lawsuits. He couldn't even campaign.
- 6:35Speaker 2: He couldn't move. He couldn't move. I mean, it was
- 6:40Speaker 2: like he had to be in court hearings, and he
- 6:42Speaker 2: couldn't even be on the campaign trail. It was all strategic.
- 6:46Speaker 2: These people are crazy. They will stop at nothing. And
- 6:50Speaker 2: in regards to this war, we do not have to
- 6:53Speaker 2: burn the whole building down. Yes, we question and we
- 6:56Speaker 2: good question. We're not bobbleheads. We're not mental midgets. We
- 6:59Speaker 2: need to have brains and be thinking what is going
- 7:02Speaker 2: on and questioning it. Do we like it? We don't
- 7:04Speaker 2: like it. But you don't burn the house to the
- 7:07Speaker 2: ground in this short amount of time. He knows the deadline.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I mean, he knows it's approaching. And by the end
- 7:13Speaker 2: of this summer, there hasn't been something that is either
- 7:16Speaker 2: driving prices down or we haven't handled Iran. And that
- 7:22Speaker 2: hasn't concluded. He knows we're in trouble. I believe he's
- 7:26Speaker 2: going to do everything he possibly can do to stop that.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I mean, do we think he wants us to lose seats?
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I'm irritated with it, too. I mean, it cost
- 7:39Speaker 2: me like $ 80 to fill out my... I just drove
- 7:43Speaker 2: four hours to Michigan and back. I get it. And
- 7:47Speaker 2: everything is more expensive. But we want everything right now.
- 7:53Speaker 2: We want it right now in this country. We have
- 7:55Speaker 2: little tolerance. And I think we would all say... If
- 8:00Speaker 2: not him, then who? The alternative, and you know this,
- 8:04Speaker 2: you agree with this, is insane. So we've elected him
- 8:09Speaker 2: because we think he is, you know, the art of
- 8:11Speaker 2: the deal. He's strategic minded. Is he arrogant? Absolutely. Does
- 8:15Speaker 2: he make me crazy sometimes? Sometimes there's words that come
- 8:18Speaker 2: out of his mouth. I wish I could reach through
- 8:19Speaker 2: the phone and grab him by his neck. Or say,
- 8:23Speaker 2: are you stupid? Like, why would you say that? There's
- 8:25Speaker 2: a million times where I want to, like, literally scream.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Just to put the lesser of the evils. Like, the
- 8:33Speaker 2: stuff that comes out of his mouth or the policies
- 8:35Speaker 2: that he, you know, or the closed border. I've got
- 8:38Speaker 2: to pick. And, you know, Trump, listen, people say, oh,
- 8:44Speaker 2: Trump's vindictive. I mean, he just goes after it. I
- 8:47Speaker 2: totally hate, I hate that he does it. I hate it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It sickens me. Trump wasn't any different four years ago,
- 8:54Speaker 2: just so everybody listening knows. Never tolerated. You were either
- 9:00Speaker 2: on his team or you were against him. He has
- 9:02Speaker 2: not changed. He wants all the players on the field
- 9:05Speaker 2: moving in the same motion with.
- 9:07Speaker 5: The same goal.
- 9:08Speaker 2: He's always been that way. And if he even smells
- 9:11Speaker 2: to disagree with him, he don't want to on his team. Now,
- 9:14Speaker 2: he elected that. You're going to cry about it today.
- 9:20Speaker 2: That's my thought, and I think I should get an
- 9:23Speaker 2: IR captain, and I'm not Beavis. You can come up
- 9:25Speaker 2: with another name. Don't give me Beavis. I'm going to
- 9:27Speaker 2: give you Beavis.
- 9:27Speaker 1: All right. I'll go with Butthead then. All right. Have
- 9:33Speaker 1: a great week.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Ring the bell. Where's your bell? Go ahead and ring it.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Wait a minute. Hang on.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Hang on.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Ring it because I crushed it, Ron.
- 9:41Speaker 1: You're awful demanding.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Oh, I just want you to know. I get a
- 9:46Speaker 2: standing O for that, and you're going to be stingy
- 9:49Speaker 2: and try not to give it to me, but I
- 9:50Speaker 2: already know that you know that I know.
- 9:52Speaker 5: So here's that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: There you go, Sia. There you go. That's enough. All right.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Have a great weekend.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Bye.
- 9:58Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WDQ. on the air.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Ron, how you doing?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Good.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 10:05Speaker 6: Hey, it's kind of interesting listening to that last caller.
- 10:11Speaker 6: You know, she, it's very interesting when you listen to
- 10:14Speaker 6: people who are defending Trump, you know, especially on Iran,
- 10:18Speaker 6: talking about inflation, the economy. The basically only reason or
- 10:24Speaker 6: the only justification you hear from people is that, well,
- 10:28Speaker 6: we have to give him time. I trust him. We
- 10:31Speaker 6: need to give him more time. There's never any, like,
- 10:35Speaker 6: reasons given for why we should support Trump with his
- 10:40Speaker 6: war in Iran, why people think it's worth it. It's
- 10:44Speaker 6: all just trust. You've got to trust him. So I
- 10:46Speaker 6: think those arguments are extremely weak. And basically, that's why
- 10:52Speaker 6: Trump's suffering so bad in the polls right now. Now,
- 10:55Speaker 6: the other thing I wanted to talk about is, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 6: talking about the economy and Most people are actually, Frank
- 11:04Speaker 6: was kind of talking about it, like, you know, some
- 11:07Speaker 6: people think that, oh, we should have, like, a businessman
- 11:09Speaker 6: who runs the economy or is in charge of our government.
- 11:14Speaker 6: That doesn't even make sense. The point of a business
- 11:18Speaker 6: owner or a CEO or someone who's a head of
- 11:20Speaker 6: a company is to make money for that company. If
- 11:26Speaker 6: you have a person who's a head of the U.S. government,
- 11:29Speaker 6: and their job is to make money for the U.S. government,
- 11:33Speaker 6: the only way the U.S. government can make money, I mean,
- 11:35Speaker 6: they can make some investments outside the country and things
- 11:39Speaker 6: like that, but is to take money out of the
- 11:42Speaker 6: private sector and to put it in the public sector.
- 11:46Speaker 6: That would be the only way for the U.S. government
- 11:49Speaker 6: to make money. Now, if you actually want to look
- 11:53Speaker 6: at like a chart, you could pull this up, you
- 11:56Speaker 6: could look at the the amount of money that the
- 11:59Speaker 6: private sector has, like private sector profits, and you can
- 12:03Speaker 6: compare that against public sector debt. Now, this is, I
- 12:09Speaker 6: could send you the chart if you're interested. They exactly
- 12:12Speaker 6: mirror each other. So there is no way for a
- 12:17Speaker 6: private business to make money unless the government has produced
- 12:21Speaker 6: money and handed that money out into the economy for
- 12:25Speaker 6: people to make money. So that's what people, when people
- 12:28Speaker 6: refer to the debt, when people say, oh, there's a
- 12:31Speaker 6: $ 40 trillion debt on our government, well, yeah, because they've
- 12:36Speaker 6: put $ 40 trillion into our economy. They've given money to
- 12:41Speaker 6: pensions funds. They give money to private businesses. They give
- 12:45Speaker 6: money to all these institutional investors. That is literally the
- 12:49Speaker 6: only way. That is, in fact, how our economy works. Now,
- 12:56Speaker 6: I think it's a legitimate concern to say, well, maybe
- 13:00Speaker 6: the government shouldn't put all that much money into the economy. Okay,
- 13:06Speaker 6: that's one argument, but that means the only way to
- 13:10Speaker 6: reduce that deficit is to take money out of private citizens'
- 13:15Speaker 6: hands and put it back into the government. And, you know,
- 13:22Speaker 6: the debt that's owed by the government is owned by,
- 13:25Speaker 6: I've already kind of mentioned it, pension funds, institutional investors,
- 13:31Speaker 6: things like that. So if the government were forced to
- 13:33Speaker 6: pay those out, all those people who made those investments
- 13:37Speaker 6: by buying treasuries and things like that, they would get
- 13:39Speaker 6: less of a return than they expected. So most people
- 13:44Speaker 6: are extremely confused about what it means for our government
- 13:48Speaker 6: to have a debt, what it means when the government
- 13:51Speaker 6: creates money. Things like that. People are just extremely confused
- 13:55Speaker 6: about it all.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't know that that's confusing. Debt isn't a good
- 14:00Speaker 1: thing for the government to have because, as I said,
- 14:03Speaker 1: your second biggest expense is solely the interest on the debt,
- 14:07Speaker 1: not lowering it. And it continues to grow. So, I mean,
- 14:11Speaker 1: so the reality is of your $ 4. 5 trillion coming in
- 14:14Speaker 1: a year and your federal income tax dollars, your second
- 14:17Speaker 1: biggest expense is the interest on it. You've got to
- 14:21Speaker 1: cut spending.
- 14:22Speaker 5: And you've got to get them.
- 14:23Speaker 6: Who are they paying that interest to?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Well, in many cases, I don't care if it's China
- 14:28Speaker 1: or Japan or American investors, it doesn't make it right.
- 14:33Speaker 1: It isn't a good thing when so much of your
- 14:36Speaker 1: tax dollars are going to pay for nothing other than
- 14:40Speaker 1: interest going out as opposed to using it for other purposes.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:45Speaker 6: But the government's not forcing people to borrow or to
- 14:50Speaker 6: buy government debt.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Well, it's becoming more and more difficult. It's becoming more difficult.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Stand by.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Stand by. Hang on. Finish my conversation with him. Take
- 15:01Speaker 1: more of your calls straight ahead. 422 Ron Verb from
- 15:04Speaker 1: the Kingdom of Mali. 570 WKBN. So then according to
- 15:09Speaker 1: your philosophy, then, it doesn't matter to you if the
- 15:12Speaker 1: debt's $ 40 trillion or $ 100 trillion.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right. If you look at Japan's debt to GDP,
- 15:22Speaker 6: they're almost like double. We're basically like we're about as
- 15:27Speaker 6: much in debt as we make in GDP a year.
- 15:31Speaker 6: If you look at Japan, they're about double. They're about
- 15:33Speaker 6: double in debt over their GDP. Now, I mean, there's
- 15:36Speaker 6: a lot of reasons why you wouldn't want to do that.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Maybe the government's making bad investments. Maybe you think they're
- 15:43Speaker 6: not going to be able to make their payments on
- 15:45Speaker 6: that stuff in the future. You know, that's all, like,
- 15:47Speaker 6: completely legitimate. Like, you know, I think it's a really
- 15:50Speaker 6: bad idea for the government to go into debt in
- 15:53Speaker 6: order to spend money on a war in Iran. I
- 15:55Speaker 6: think that's a terrible investment. But, you know, an investment like, hey,
- 16:00Speaker 6: let's spend some money on Medicaid so that, you know,
- 16:06Speaker 6: we don't have as much, you know, pain and suffering
- 16:09Speaker 6: throughout the society. People can actually see the doctors they
- 16:12Speaker 6: want to. Well, I think that's a good investment. You know,
- 16:15Speaker 6: but that's exactly the opposite of how conservatives and Republicans
- 16:20Speaker 6: view it. And I think it's actually, like, really detrimental
- 16:24Speaker 6: to our economy. You know, what they say is, you know,
- 16:27Speaker 6: we're Republicans, we want less taxes, smaller government. I mean, yeah,
- 16:32Speaker 6: I agree they want less taxes. They don't want smaller government.
- 16:36Speaker 6: I mean, look at what George W.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Bush did.
- 16:40Speaker 6: He lowered taxes and increased spending on wars. That is
- 16:45Speaker 6: the exact same thing Trump is doing. He did the
- 16:49Speaker 6: big bullcrap bill, and he lowered taxes on the wealthiest
- 16:55Speaker 6: citizens in our society, the wealthiest companies, and then he's
- 17:00Speaker 6: borrowing more to go to a war in Iran. Or
- 17:07Speaker 6: he's taking health care away from people who are disabled
- 17:11Speaker 6: who deserve Medicaid. I think it's absolute insanity. It is
- 17:17Speaker 6: such poor investing. And it's just sad to me that
- 17:21Speaker 6: most people don't really understand that that's how the economy works.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Do you think Trump is wrong by saying, or the
- 17:28Speaker 1: Republicans are wrong saying, if you're 25 years old and
- 17:30Speaker 1: of work age, that you shouldn't be able to sit
- 17:33Speaker 1: on your ass and get Medicaid? That you've got to
- 17:36Speaker 1: grow up and go get a job with benefits?
- 17:38Speaker 6: Well, it would be Medicare. Do you know what it
- 17:42Speaker 6: would be?
- 17:42Speaker 1: No, it would not be Medicare. Medicare is only for
- 17:44Speaker 1: the elderly. I'm talking Medicaid.
- 17:47Speaker 5: You're right, Medicaid.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Yeah, you're right. Do you know what it takes to
- 17:51Speaker 6: apply for Medicaid?
- 17:53Speaker 1: I've never been on it, but this was the argument
- 17:55Speaker 1: when they said, oh, he's taking away Medicaid from young people. No,
- 18:00Speaker 1: they said merely you shouldn't be. He wasn't taking it
- 18:03Speaker 1: away from. There's a couple of things as I back up.
- 18:06Speaker 1: They wanted to take away the additional supplements that the
- 18:10Speaker 1: Democrats put in with a five-year time limit. frame on
- 18:13Speaker 1: it that the Democrats put in, that this should sunset
- 18:17Speaker 1: after five years during COVID. So during COVID, they weren't
- 18:21Speaker 1: supposed to come to win in. They weren't supposed to
- 18:23Speaker 1: be permanent. So it was a misconception to begin with.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So consequently, it just went back to where it was
- 18:29Speaker 1: before the additional supplements were there.
- 18:31Speaker 6: I already explained to you why spending on health care
- 18:33Speaker 6: is a good investment. Spending on war is a bad investment.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Well, we're still spending on health care. We're just not
- 18:38Speaker 1: spending as much with the additional supplements that were put
- 18:41Speaker 1: there for COVID. It was not meant to be permanent.
- 18:44Speaker 6: People who are not on health care.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Well, is there personal responsibility in this society at all?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Do you have any personal responsibility? I say this all
- 18:55Speaker 1: the time, and I would ask you this question. When
- 18:57Speaker 1: I grew up, my father covered me with health care.
- 18:59Speaker 1: When I became an adult, as he said, you either
- 19:01Speaker 1: find a job that has it or you go out
- 19:03Speaker 1: and buy it on your own. It's called growing up
- 19:05Speaker 1: and being personally responsible.
- 19:07Speaker 5: Don't you think?
- 19:07Speaker 6: I've got a really simple response to that.
- 19:09Speaker 1: All right, stand by. I want to hear it when
- 19:11Speaker 1: I do my headlines, and I'll come back. And listen
- 19:13Speaker 1: to it right after this. NewsRadio 570 WKVN. Stay tuned.
- 19:17Speaker 1: A tire sale. NewsRadio 570 WKVN. All right. More of
- 19:22Speaker 1: your calls straight ahead. 434. It's 63 degrees on this Friday,
- 19:26Speaker 1: May 22nd. Ron Verb, NewsRadio 570 WKVN from the kingdom
- 19:29Speaker 1: of Mahoning. Do you believe then that an individual should
- 19:33Speaker 1: have personal responsibility for their decisions and their behavior?
- 19:38Speaker 6: Yeah, of course. I don't know anyone who would disagree
- 19:41Speaker 6: with that.
- 19:41Speaker 1: All right. So, I mean, when you're talking about, see,
- 19:44Speaker 1: you always make these things sound so vicious. So is
- 19:48Speaker 1: it wrong to say that a 25-year-old, as I said,
- 19:52Speaker 1: as growing up, I don't know how your life worked,
- 19:55Speaker 1: but you were probably covered by your parents' hospitalization. Then
- 19:58Speaker 1: as you got older, you either found a job that
- 20:00Speaker 1: had it or you went out and bought it. Those
- 20:02Speaker 1: were your options. It's called being an adult growing up.
- 20:06Speaker 1: The argument was you can't sit at 25 years old,
- 20:09Speaker 1: do nothing with your life, and expect the taxpayers on
- 20:12Speaker 1: an able-bodied young man or woman to pay for your
- 20:15Speaker 1: health care. Nor should we pay for it. At some point,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you need to kick any ass in the personal responsibility.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Just as if you make bad decisions, you have to
- 20:26Speaker 1: suffer the consequences. If you choose to smoke and you
- 20:29Speaker 1: come down with heart disease or lung cancer, that isn't
- 20:32Speaker 1: my fault. That's a decision you made. And those consequences
- 20:36Speaker 1: will be suffered by you. I mean, I don't know
- 20:38Speaker 1: where you go with that type of mentality. Now, if
- 20:44Speaker 1: you're saying to me, would I would rather see my
- 20:46Speaker 1: tax dollars spent on my fellow Americans? Yes, as opposed
- 20:51Speaker 1: to any foreign country. That's where I agree with Massey completely.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I am totally opposed to foreign aid. Because we've got
- 20:58Speaker 1: enough problems in this country. And I'm not opposed to
- 21:01Speaker 1: people getting unemployment because it means they were employed. I'm
- 21:03Speaker 1: not opposed to Social Security because it means you worked
- 21:06Speaker 1: and earned that. That's an earned benefit. I'm not opposed
- 21:09Speaker 1: to Medicare. It means you worked and you earned that.
- 21:12Speaker 1: And I'm not even opposed to Medicaid for people that
- 21:15Speaker 1: are truly disabled and need that assistance and or benefits.
- 21:18Speaker 1: We see many cases that are responsible people and they
- 21:22Speaker 1: lose everything because of being in a nursing home. I
- 21:27Speaker 1: fully understand that as well. As I say, everybody's one
- 21:30Speaker 1: bankruptcy away from one major illness away from bankruptcy. So
- 21:33Speaker 1: I get all of that. I'm not opposed to that
- 21:36Speaker 1: type of spending. But the philosophy that you have that, oh,
- 21:41Speaker 1: debt is good when it comes to government, it is
- 21:43Speaker 1: not good. When this much of your yearly tax dollars
- 21:48Speaker 1: coming in is going to pay the interest, that is
- 21:50Speaker 1: not good return on the money you're taking from your
- 21:53Speaker 1: citizens for the tax dollars. You're living beyond your means
- 21:58Speaker 1: as a country. At that point. And you can't continue
- 22:02Speaker 1: to do that. And grow it. Because as you grow
- 22:04Speaker 1: that debt. As the interest rates can go up. Then
- 22:07Speaker 1: that becomes your number one expense. Or the economy collapses.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So no. You have to get rid of the debt.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You don't put it on future generations. You don't act
- 22:18Speaker 1: like it's a good thing. We are having difficulties. Getting
- 22:22Speaker 1: rid of some of these T-bills. And bonds now. Countries
- 22:25Speaker 1: do go bankrupt. And they do go insolvent.
- 22:29Speaker 6: And I don't want to see that. Yeah, I completely agree.
- 22:31Speaker 6: I mean, America is making horrible investments right now. Right.
- 22:35Speaker 6: I mean, that's why the bond market is going down.
- 22:37Speaker 6: The dollar is going down. I mean, just in the
- 22:39Speaker 6: last year, it's, you know, 10, 10, 15, 20 percent
- 22:42Speaker 6: down the dollar.
- 22:44Speaker 1: And there's concern about the petrodollar.
- 22:48Speaker 6: And Republicans are good. They prefer that. They don't think
- 22:52Speaker 6: that the dollar should be controlled by the government. The
- 22:56Speaker 6: dollar should be a free-floating private asset, basically. That's what
- 23:04Speaker 6: most conservatives think. That's why they favor a Bitcoin and
- 23:07Speaker 6: things like that. But I wanted to respond to you
- 23:09Speaker 6: about the personal responsibility of a 25-year-old I mean, yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 6: I completely agree. Yeah, if you're 25 years old and
- 23:20Speaker 6: you should be able to work, yeah, I don't think
- 23:24Speaker 6: you should qualify for Medicaid. You know, I mean, that's
- 23:27Speaker 6: why they have all those tests that you have to do,
- 23:30Speaker 6: forms you have to fill out, you have to prove
- 23:32Speaker 6: that you're not able to work. You know, and I
- 23:35Speaker 6: would kind of flip it on you and I would say, well,
- 23:38Speaker 6: doesn't our society have a responsibility to those people who
- 23:42Speaker 6: are injured? Like, let's say you have epilepsy. And you
- 23:45Speaker 6: can't be employed. Like, there's no..
- 23:48Speaker 5: It's a business owner, which I am.
- 23:50Speaker 6: A business owner has a responsibility to make money for
- 23:54Speaker 6: their business. So you can't hire someone who's disabled. You
- 23:57Speaker 6: can't just pay those people. Just out of the goodness
- 24:01Speaker 6: of your heart, that's irresponsible.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Nor am I saying..
- 24:04Speaker 6: Someone has to take care of those people. And I
- 24:07Speaker 6: believe it's all of us that have to do that.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Well, no, that is genuinely what's... OK, let's.
- 24:13Speaker 6: Talk about it. But this idea that it's like cut
- 24:16Speaker 6: and dry is just completely wrong.
- 24:18Speaker 1: No, but that is what Medicaid is for.
- 24:21Speaker 6: Invest in war, invest in military, invest in weapons and
- 24:27Speaker 6: not invest in health care is one of the worst
- 24:30Speaker 6: investments I've ever heard of.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Well, can you invest, can you spend way too much
- 24:34Speaker 1: in a military industrial complex? I think we were warned
- 24:37Speaker 1: about that. And I think the answer to that obviously
- 24:40Speaker 1: is yes. I don't think you'll hear many people say to,
- 24:43Speaker 1: when you talk about people that have serious health issues,
- 24:48Speaker 1: if I can finish my thought, as I said to you,
- 24:51Speaker 1: if somebody loses everything because they've had a stroke or
- 24:54Speaker 1: an ALS or something and end up in a nursing home,
- 24:58Speaker 1: We're not going to put them out on the street.
- 24:59Speaker 1: That is what these relief programs like Medicaid are for.
- 25:03Speaker 1: They're being abused by people that are able-bodied that need
- 25:06Speaker 1: to go out and operate on their own. So I
- 25:09Speaker 1: don't think you get an argument from people.
- 25:10Speaker 6: Do you know anyone personally who's abusing it?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Unfortunately, the answer to that is yes. Unfortunately, there are
- 25:18Speaker 1: plenty of people– well, I shouldn't say plenty. There are
- 25:20Speaker 1: those people that say– some might say it's smart, not dumb.
- 25:24Speaker 1: They don't want to make additional money because if they do,
- 25:27Speaker 1: they would lose their benefits. And as a result of that,
- 25:31Speaker 1: it would cost them more money because they would have
- 25:33Speaker 1: to buy their benefits. But that is growing up, and.
- 25:37Speaker 4: That is– Yeah, I agree.
- 25:37Speaker 6: We should get rid of all that stuff.
- 25:39Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's– There's a saying, and you need
- 25:44Speaker 1: to learn it. Don't make your problems my problems.
- 25:48Speaker 3: All right?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Don't make your bad decisions my bad decisions. Don't reward
- 25:52Speaker 1: bad behavior.
- 25:53Speaker 6: The whole economy is going in the tank. It's insane.
- 25:59Speaker 6: The people who are supporting this guy, they don't understand
- 26:02Speaker 6: what's going on.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Well, what's going on?
- 26:04Speaker 6: I'm here calling in to try to explain it to you.
- 26:07Speaker 6: You're still not listening.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Well, I'm listening.
- 26:09Speaker 4: So how is..
- 26:11Speaker 1: You say because of Trump, the whole economy is going
- 26:13Speaker 1: in a tank, and the reason for that is what?
- 26:19Speaker 6: Well, as I've already said, the dollar is down 10%
- 26:21Speaker 6: to 20% actively because he's destroying... Our international relationships, people
- 26:30Speaker 6: who have money in other countries are not really interested
- 26:34Speaker 6: in investing in America. We're just going to betray them,
- 26:36Speaker 6: stab them in the back.
- 26:38Speaker 1: How do we do that?
- 26:40Speaker 6: Actively degrading our ability to act in the world. I
- 26:46Speaker 6: think it's, I think it's absolutely.
- 26:48Speaker 1: How is he doing that? Do you think he was wrong?
- 26:53Speaker 6: Pushing away the Gulf states right now, Saudi Arabia is
- 26:56Speaker 6: not letting us fly over their country. They are one
- 26:59Speaker 6: of the most, the country most responsible for the success
- 27:06Speaker 6: in our stock market is Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar. They're
- 27:12Speaker 6: all pumping oil, and then the money they make on
- 27:16Speaker 6: that oil, they invest in the U.S. economy. That's called
- 27:19Speaker 6: the petrodollar. That is at serious risk. It's okay. I mean,
- 27:27Speaker 6: it might make sense to go away, like in the
- 27:30Speaker 6: grand scheme of things. I think that's probably a good thing.
- 27:34Speaker 6: But that will actively hurt our economy. And it is
- 27:38Speaker 6: actively hurting our economy right now.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Well, the stock market, as I say, there's a disconnect
- 27:44Speaker 1: between Wall Street and Main Street, seems to be doing
- 27:46Speaker 1: quite well. Record highs.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Which one? Main Street's doing well?
- 27:51Speaker 1: No, the stock market's been doing extremely well. I said
- 27:53Speaker 1: there's a disconnect between Main Street and the stock markets.
- 27:57Speaker 6: Well, do you think that's good, that the stock market's
- 27:59Speaker 6: doing well and the Main Street's doing poor?
- 28:02Speaker 1: No, I don't think that's good at all. I think
- 28:07Speaker 1: there's a serious issue with what they call affordability and
- 28:12Speaker 1: the amount of taxes, people's money that's taken from them,
- 28:16Speaker 1: the inflation that has taken place, the energy costs that
- 28:19Speaker 1: are out there. I don't think there's anything good about
- 28:23Speaker 1: that at all, and we're making life difficult. much more
- 28:26Speaker 1: difficult for our younger generation to achieve the American dream. So, no,
- 28:30Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything good about that at all.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I prefer him to get back and focus on that.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I want him to go back and focus on that.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I believe in America first. I do not believe in
- 28:42Speaker 1: foreign aid. I do not care if these other countries
- 28:45Speaker 1: that you express. Well, I don't know that you're expressing
- 28:47Speaker 1: concern in that sense. I want them to hold countries
- 28:50Speaker 1: accountable if they say they're supposed to give this much
- 28:52Speaker 1: to NAO. Stop crapping on the United States of America,
- 28:55Speaker 1: having us carry all the burden. You want to be
- 28:57Speaker 1: a part of it, you contribute to it. And we'll
- 29:02Speaker 1: leave it there. I appreciate your call, and onward we go.
- 29:04Speaker 1: You're on the air. Hello? Well, maybe you're not there.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Hello?
- 29:15Speaker 1: I think that was Ted the Conservative. I hung up on.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Call back right now. Call back right now. You're on
- 29:22Speaker 1: the air. You're on the air.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Hey, Ron. How are you? Good, Mike. Hey, that guy, boy,
- 29:32Speaker 3: what a tough listen. If he thinks, I mean, I'm
- 29:36Speaker 3: not sure what I heard, but I think he said
- 29:39Speaker 3: we could probably print our way to prosperity, not directly
- 29:43Speaker 3: like that, but indirectly. But that doesn't matter?
- 29:46Speaker 5: Is that what I heard?
- 29:51Speaker 1: No, he was saying that debt isn't always a bad thing,
- 29:56Speaker 1: that in fact you had– that somebody's getting the interest
- 30:00Speaker 1: off the debt. It was a strange economic philosophy.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay.
- 30:06Speaker 5: They had a term for that in high school, which
- 30:08Speaker 5: I can't repeat. Well, I'm not going to even go
- 30:13Speaker 5: there then. All right.
- 30:15Speaker 3: It doesn't even make sense, his whole entire argument.
- 30:18Speaker 6: You know, if..
- 30:22Speaker 3: If we're $ 80 trillion in debt, maybe prosperity will be
- 30:26Speaker 3: twice as much as it is now. His argument just
- 30:31Speaker 3: did not make sense.
- 30:32Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense to me either because you're strapping
- 30:35Speaker 1: future generations. You cannot have this large portion of your
- 30:38Speaker 1: tax dollars going to pay interest.
- 30:41Speaker 5: It's ridiculous.
- 30:41Speaker 3: The only way that we're going to have higher prosperity
- 30:44Speaker 3: is to have higher productivity.
- 30:47Speaker 5: That's the only way. And that's what..
- 30:50Speaker 3: And cut spending. We're not into the Bitcoin stuff. Yeah,
- 30:54Speaker 3: cut spending, absolutely. But higher productivity is going to lead
- 30:58Speaker 3: to a higher standard of living. And if we had,
- 31:04Speaker 3: our dollar was coupled with precious gold or silver, things
- 31:10Speaker 3: that are worth something, our government couldn't spend like this.
- 31:14Speaker 3: When we went off the gold standard in the early 70s,
- 31:18Speaker 3: is when things started to really take off in terms
- 31:23Speaker 3: of the government having the ability to spend whatever they
- 31:28Speaker 3: wanted without any recourse. They've just pumped it all on
- 31:32Speaker 3: to future generations, which is not fair to the future generations.
- 31:36Speaker 3: They have no voice in this debt.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Correct.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Now, I heard your opening monologue earlier, And I remember
- 31:47Speaker 3: a couple of years ago, Ted, you know, he was
- 31:49Speaker 3: really big on the, you know, calling people cult, cultish
- 31:54Speaker 3: and stuff like that. And it was the days that
- 31:58Speaker 3: he was not a, he didn't think Donald Trump could win,
- 32:01Speaker 3: quote unquote. So he was, you know, using that manipulative
- 32:06Speaker 3: language to try to change minds. Well, you know, I've just,
- 32:10Speaker 3: I've listened to Ted kind of evolve on, on Trump
- 32:14Speaker 3: and he, You know, recently he's talked about just trust
- 32:18Speaker 3: in Trump. I trust Trump, right? Well, you know what?
- 32:23Speaker 3: I never did. He was the best choice of a
- 32:29Speaker 3: very weak group that he was running against. And as
- 32:36Speaker 3: of today, right now, and I told you this... When
- 32:41Speaker 3: he went after Massey, I wish he had gone after
- 32:43Speaker 3: the Democrats or the people that were actually barriers to
- 32:47Speaker 3: prosperity in this country. If he had gone after those
- 32:51Speaker 3: people as hard.
- 32:52Speaker 5: As he did, Thomas Massey, maybe we.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Wouldn't be talking about the Save America Act being stalled
- 33:02Speaker 3: in the Senate right now.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Maybe we'd be thrilled that it was passed.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 5: I just, you know, when Ted talks like that, I hear.
- 33:16Speaker 3: That and I go like.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Man, did you forget.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Where you were?
- 33:18Speaker 4: I know.
- 33:22Speaker 1: The point that I was making, and I remember that.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I was just trying to get the time frame on it.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Ted's call at that time, I can remember it. He
- 33:29Speaker 1: was merely talking. He was saying it's okay to disagree
- 33:33Speaker 1: with Trump and view things differently. He was merely saying
- 33:38Speaker 1: to me, I remember that call. that there is a cult,
- 33:42Speaker 1: that there is like a cult that no matter what
- 33:46Speaker 1: Trump does, you can't disagree with him. And he was
- 33:49Speaker 1: saying that that bothered him, that type of mentality. That
- 33:54Speaker 1: was a cult. I don't think, no, no, no, no, no.
- 33:58Speaker 1: There's no way. Ted's a pretty smart guy. Here's what
- 34:03Speaker 1: Ted says. Ted, in essence, says, It's okay for people
- 34:09Speaker 1: to disagree with the war. It's okay for people to
- 34:11Speaker 1: agree with the war. He might view it as something
- 34:13Speaker 1: worthwhile to do. I would have to ask him the
- 34:17Speaker 1: specifics of it. But he says, let's give it some time.
- 34:20Speaker 1: And I do agree with one thing. These people obviously
- 34:22Speaker 1: know more than we do about what's going on. So
- 34:27Speaker 1: they get a little bit of the benefit of the doubt,
- 34:29Speaker 1: but not all of it. I think they've also made some,
- 34:32Speaker 1: in my opinion, some poor decisions. I would agree with.
- 34:36Speaker 5: That 100%, Ron.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I don't think we're on the right track. And I think,
- 34:40Speaker 3: you know, probably going back a month or five weeks,
- 34:44Speaker 3: whenever this started, there were very few voices that were saying, hey,
- 34:49Speaker 3: Trump's going down the wrong path here. And Ted was
- 34:52Speaker 3: not one of them. Rich was not one of them.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I know Frank was one of the voices, but..
- 35:00Speaker 1: You know who else was one? This might surprise everybody.
- 35:05Speaker 1: G2 was not in favor of this.
- 35:08Speaker 6: No, no.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I know he was not.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I think you were in favor of it, but I
- 35:12Speaker 5: think you were listening.
- 35:14Speaker 3: And I've seen.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Your, you know, over the last, you know, five weeks.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Four weeks, I've heard, I've seen, because.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I listen as much as anybody, Ron.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Okay. I got to tell you, your show, it's great.
- 35:30Speaker 3: If it wasn't, I wouldn't listen. But I've seen you,
- 35:39Speaker 3: your monologues have evolved. Your discussion with the callers has changed,
- 35:47Speaker 3: and I think it's, you know, I don't want to
- 35:50Speaker 3: sound arrogant or anything like that. I think it's in
- 35:52Speaker 3: a good, going in a good direction. Not that I
- 35:57Speaker 3: would be the judge of.
- 35:58Speaker 5: That, but I think in the end, we can't be
- 36:02Speaker 5: at war and have... we can have artificial prosperity, you know,
- 36:08Speaker 5: war economy is artificial.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Eventually that bill is going to be, that's that, that bill,
- 36:13Speaker 3: that check's going to come due. And, you know, we're at.
- 36:17Speaker 5: The end here, you and I, I don't want to
- 36:20Speaker 5: see our kids, right.
- 36:21Speaker 3: All this dumped on our kids. And that's why I
- 36:23Speaker 3: get so, um, I guess upset about, you know, the
- 36:30Speaker 3: direction that we're going, you know, that, If you think
- 36:34Speaker 3: you're going to fix this country by throwing people like
- 36:37Speaker 3: Thomas Massey out of office, you have no idea what
- 36:41Speaker 3: this country is about. That's where I'm at.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I totally agree with that entire statement. Thank you, Mike.
- 36:48Speaker 6: Have a safe weekend.
- 36:49Speaker 1: You too.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Ronald.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Ted the Conservative.
- 37:05Speaker 4: I've heard my name a few times, so I figured
- 37:08Speaker 4: I'd give a call.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Did I enunciate or give the correct scenario about when
- 37:16Speaker 1: you were talking, this goes back a while, about cults?
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes.
- 37:22Speaker 4: And that doesn't mean I don't support them, but many
- 37:25Speaker 4: things could be true at the same time. I do believe,
- 37:28Speaker 4: let's go back 10 years. I remember when G2 and
- 37:33Speaker 4: I would have strong disagreements because I didn't agree with
- 37:37Speaker 4: everything that Trump said. And I still don't. I told you,
- 37:41Speaker 4: I've learned how to internally process that stuff and filter
- 37:45Speaker 4: out all the garbage he says. And in full transparency,
- 37:50Speaker 4: I think his second presidency, his second term has been
- 37:55Speaker 4: a failure so far. And I don't think he's doing
- 38:00Speaker 4: the things that we elected him to do. I think
- 38:04Speaker 4: he's made this more of a retribution tour. I don't
- 38:08Speaker 4: like the slush fund. I strongly disagree with people that
- 38:13Speaker 4: have said it's okay for him to do what he's
- 38:15Speaker 4: doing with the Department of Justice. I mean, let's be honest.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Like you said yesterday, if Joe Biden brought his personal
- 38:22Speaker 4: attorney in and did this stuff, we'd be losing our minds.
- 38:27Speaker 4: If you want to protect your family, there's a way
- 38:29Speaker 4: to do it. So don't circumvent it. Just be a man,
- 38:34Speaker 4: put your big boy panties on, and issue pardons to
- 38:38Speaker 4: all your family members and your businesses for crimes that
- 38:41Speaker 4: may have been committed, knownly or unknowingly, for the last
- 38:46Speaker 4: 25 years. Do what Biden did. This slush fund is
- 38:50Speaker 4: just a horrible, horrible thing. And I think that's why
- 38:53Speaker 4: you're seeing the backlash from the Republicans because now we're
- 38:57Speaker 4: in a, we're in a fight for our life in
- 38:59Speaker 4: these primaries and he keeps giving the opposition fire fuel
- 39:05Speaker 4: to put on the fire. You know, he's lost focus.
- 39:09Speaker 4: I think of the, of the primaries because every decision
- 39:11Speaker 4: he's made is going against us and making that hill
- 39:15Speaker 4: that we're trying to climb steeper and steeper. But you,
- 39:18Speaker 4: you gave a good analogy of my, my beliefs on Trump.
- 39:21Speaker 4: And you know, I, You know where I stand. We've
- 39:24Speaker 4: been talking about him for a long time. It doesn't
- 39:27Speaker 4: mean I don't support him.
- 39:31Speaker 1: But you were the first guy, and oddly enough, I
- 39:34Speaker 1: remember this call. And we had a disagreement that day.
- 39:37Speaker 1: I can remember it specifically. You were the first guy
- 39:40Speaker 1: who said to me, Ron, there is a Trump cult.
- 39:43Speaker 1: There are people that if you don't adhere to everything
- 39:46Speaker 1: he adheres to, then you're bad news even though you're
- 39:49Speaker 1: a Republican or you disagree. There is that fraction of
- 39:53Speaker 1: the Trump supporters. And I think you and I argued
- 39:56Speaker 1: about it that day. And you are 100% correct about that.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Stand by. Stand by. Back with Ted the Conservative in
- 40:04Speaker 1: a minute. Ron Furman, NewsRadio 570, WKBN. Stay close.
