- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey guys, guy here, when we start the, hey guys, guy here, Sunday morning.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: As I start the show, I just wanted to say thank you for a season of support to Puesto, Mexicano, Moderna, now it is possible that we're back in Levi's Stadium for another 49er game, and that's when we do most of the Puesto ads because Puesto has two locations in Levi's Stadium,
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: and it's the best possible food you can get in any stadium.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's trying to do all this, oh look how gourmet, none of that.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone, the crown has been, the crown has been handed.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's plus though.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: They got, they got the goods in a stadium, you're not getting better food.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to thank them for a season long.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: They've also sponsored interviews this year, which is great, and maybe a couple more here before the season's done.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now it could be back for the Super Bowl
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: But it was gonna be a stone-cold lock that they'd be back with a win on Sunday and we'll get into that coming up But I got to see Eric Adler before the game and Is buddy Danny down on the field and talk to them for a while, which was a lot of fun Because they're you know the the question people are not are people they are like you if you're not a I know not all of you not are people But a lot of you are and They're just huge fans.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: They love football.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: They they really support
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: And you have supported them, which is great, which has supported the show, which is also great.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you, thank you to you, if you took the time to go check out a Puesto.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing fabulous.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I know Jerry Rice was at the post on Santa Clara on Saturday before the game.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: They've also got the location and conquered and locations in Southern California, La Jolla, and San Diego area.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are not somebody who's gone yet,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: go to Presto, may he kind of will dare no, I tell you all the time, the food is excellent, the vibes are great, the drinks are great, you can watch games there, watch the next nine or game there if you want, or just another, you know, if you need to be, you know, kind of hunkered down for that game, not amongst the public, you know, I know something you need to be in your own space, go there for another game, go there today, as you're listening to this, or Monday night, whatever it is.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: But it's great for date night, it's great for business lunch,
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they do it all.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's great for just drinks.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: They do it all.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: So thanks to the Adler brothers, Eric, great, great to see you Um, before the game on Saturday and and appreciate all the all the support.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get into it.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Some reactions.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: This is Sunday morning.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: You'll hear me talking about it.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, Tampa, Carolina, Chicago, Philly, none of that's happened yet.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, guys?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's early Sunday morning, a lot of NFL games to watch today, Niners lost on Saturday night.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was there on the sidelines for the whole thing, because I was doing sidelines.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm can't be our radio because the voice of the 49ers Greg Popper returned to call the action.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, they let me hang out some more.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I did sidelines for the game.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I was right there, saw the Christian McCarray for Interception right in front of me.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I was just right there around the ball.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I was on the sideline.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: the entire time.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you can go to the bench area.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I'll tell you some of what I saw.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, the, the energy pregame on the field was incredible.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love being at games.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: I always tell my wife if we're going to a game.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I want, we can leave early, especially like, you know, if the game's not good.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not leaving our lives to a game, but I want to be there for starting lineups because that to me is like the best part of a lot of the shows.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: anything that happens after it's a total crap shoot.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: But the storyline should be cool.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I, by the way, I'm wearing my, my great pop of San Francisco hat that I made.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: I saw somebody selling some knockoffs.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: They looked terrible.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's like some grock AI.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's not AI.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's auto reply.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Don't
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll make, maybe we'll make these hats, but, you know, in the internal argument of do you want to, would you rather lose a game closer, would you rather get blown out?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I always said rather lose a game close, you know, people say like, well,
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you get blown out, then it's less painful.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, like we're going to spend three and a half hours at this game, or if you're going to the game as a fan, you're probably, you know, you're spending your whole day, you're going to spend three hours on the couch watching this game.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm going to spend the time, like I just want to be entertained, in that game,
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: was a complete dud of a game.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, for all of the buildup and all of the energy and rightly so, to not have a shot, like it's always say, I would rather, the old cliche, living, living lose than to have loved and lost, than never loved it all applies to me the sports.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'd rather watch a game that was a heartbreaking finish, you know, like have a replay of the Bears game and you lose.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: and at least she experienced that versus what that was because what that was was a complete and utter dud.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's somehow you you win six in a row, you're on the precipice of winning the division for the third time and four years of winning the one seed and it all goes away like that and you know, it might have been the last game you played at home.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, unless you get maybe a good matchup, obviously, in the playoffs and Super Bowl, um, and I think part of what made it makes it so painful is there's such a stark difference between being a one seed and you're hosting the Super Bowl and not being a one seed.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: One seeds of one 26 Super Bowls.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: The five of the six seeds have combined to win four.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, now you would have, not happily at this point, if I said, you get to this rule, you lose, some of you would be like, no, forget it, just lose and fill your Chicago or Carolina or Tampa.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I'm doing this before those games.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday, I don't want to deal with that pain, but the point is like, if you're the one seed, and I, you know, there are people who, let's say the Niners are plant, let's say the Rams are playing the Eagles in the first round because the Niners are the one seed, and you're going to get the Rams in the division
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: you know, even if you'd found a way to win that game, if you're not getting better lineback or play, you might get beat fine, but you know, give me the two weeks of build up and the possibility, the possibility is just so much smaller of doing something, especially I've already had a special year all things considered, you win 12 games.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you went up playoff game, I think that will still be a successful year by the standard of what, but you know, the goal post move and that's okay people was like, you can't move the goal post just about things in life and I'm not like, what the whole life is moving goal post, you know, like
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: use the toilet.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, you know, I'm finally goalpost moving.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now that said, you just can't deny.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: The Niners have played 34 players on defense this year and the two guys that have played the fewest snaps.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: The two guys that were starting a lot and not starting with playing a lineback yesterday, Garrett Wallo and Eric Kendrick's, one of them side on December 8th and one of them
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: both of them entered the game having played fewer steps than Jordan Jefferson, who I won't ask you to pick him out of a line.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be playing one game for the Niners as a defensive tackle against the Jagg.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: So the point is it was a disaster, but it was not going well before D Winner's got hurt and before Tatum but then got hurt.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, from the jump, the Seahawk sent a message.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: I thought maybe it was going to be poetic because in 2019 when Drake Greenland stopped Jacob Hollister on the goal line to win the division in the one seed for the 40
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when some people forget about that play is that earlier on that drive, the CX had gotten the ball down to the one that play the line of skirmish was the six back in 2019, but the CX got the ball to the one yard line and then had a penalty that pushed him back or they were going to march on was going to jump into the end zone.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, that's what we think.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so then I pushed them back.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: So it was very similar to the opening drive for the C-hucks on Saturday night.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: They get down to the one-year line and then there's a 49ers get a sack and I said before the fourth downplay, hey, you know, this is like 2019, that game ended with the magic.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: This game maybe can start with it and Papa, who Greg Papa, who's, you know, he's fighting
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: And, but this is first game back goes immediately.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: I was at a late game penalty, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, of course, he knows it.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: And, but it really was a message Mike McDonald was sending, which is my defense.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Good, you know, I think in the moment you could interpret it two ways.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: One was, oh, this is gonna be a high scoring game.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't interpret it that way in the moment.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: I interpreted it in the moment as I don't think,
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: you're going to get the ball down the field on me.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go for it or you're going to pun it to me and I'll get it in the field as it turned out he got it at the 935 because there was a penalty on it as well.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I Seattle sent the message early.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: The day believed and what they believed was true that the 49ers were not going to be able to run against them.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: The carefully was under three yards of carry and this was not the type of game where you had to stop.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: You would have
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as bad as it was, and Seattle was, Seattle's running back for over five year to carry if you take the Donald runs out of it.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: As bad as it was, it was 13 to three, but you get your butt kicked in the run game.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, to win a game like that, you need breaks.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then either's got breaks.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle missed two field goals, including a chip shot, banged it off the upright.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: But you have to take advantage in a way that the Niners did not, a fumble that would have given them the ball in the red almost in the red zone, late in the third quarter, with Donald trips and fumbles and it's a seven point game and you took gross montos, can't crawl it and then, you know, I was I was standing right there watching the McAfrey play unfold with complete disbelief that it happened if you're watching on YouTube.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I've circled myself on the screen.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I watched it happen in front of me and that McCrishon just stood there hands on hips right there at that spot staring at the field for several seconds then went and sat by himself on the the gatorade you know it was a totally deflated Believe I stadium and that was a credit to Seattle.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: I was a credit to their run game to credit to your pick up a first out on 3rd and 17.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I you know, I think big picture Clearly couch hand is one of the coaches of the year in the NFL.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know people make the argument for for variable and patent and everyone goes to Liam Cohen.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, why not Mike McDonald?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Clearly in the division now, you know, unless McVay goes to Amazon or something in the next few years to do television, this is,
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: not only was it the best division of football this year, but it might be the best coaching division in football, might make that old.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: These guys forget about, oh, we'll see how it only went at home.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: They went on the road.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: A ton, they've won whatever it is.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've got a record for road wins through the first two years of a coach's tenure.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: They are crushing it.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: So this thing is going to last for a while.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think the future future is like at some point, the ramps left to find a quarterback to replace Matthew Stafford right now.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: They don't need to.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Seattle's, I don't think there's Super Bowl team winning team.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, in this year, they're going to get there and then potentially, and then or they can.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're going to plan a state and they're very familiar with it.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Levi Stadium against an AFC team that might be kind of similar to them.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I just, to me, what they lack is still dynamics in the past game.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, unfortunately for the Niners, even though they did get to Donald, like you can really affect him, and they didn't affect him enough.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith and Jig, but, you know, clearly is a very good player, but I think they lack some dynamics in the past game.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's, it's Maybe I'll talk to him if you saw Evan more on the show a few weeks ago.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was excellent, and he thinks that he thought at the time This was going into the bear's nine-year game and Evan played in the league and he does a podcast with Nick Folls called the season S.E.N.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: He thought the, the Eagles were the team you would want to play in the playoffs going
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: going into that bear's game.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they're still a good argument for it.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think bears are far superior when it comes to head coach and all, you know, slash offensive coordinator, Penn Johnson.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think both places they're going to be frigid today.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think Philly were a week away.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: So it changes so fast, particularly in that part of the country.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Philly's supposed to be warmer next weekend.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think they might snow in Chicago, but it also might be kind of unseasonably
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of things would say you'd rather play Philly, if you're thinking about Philadelphia's whole season.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I heard driving home after the game, eating a old hot dog.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: That was my post-game meal.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Grab the hot dog.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: John Dickinson made the point that he thinks Seattle's defense is the, or Philly's defense is the closest thing to Seattle and the NFC, and I think it's a great point.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if I think the 49ers benefit from, no, not I think the 49ers are better suited to play in a shootout against a bad defense than to play in a land grab against a good defense, because a top flight defense and, you know, Philly is third and the league.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: uh... in points per game but more specifically they can get pressure with four right so like christian not being a fact the game in the run game because they stopped him but without bring anybody extra and not being effective in the past game because they played the past with their personnel
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle's kind of looks like the old Seattle in their secondary.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: This guy Nick Emanori is incredible.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's a 43840, he's tall, he's long, he can jump, he got hurt for plays into the first meeting, didn't play back in week one.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, I guess my point is, I know my point is that they,
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: There are things about Philadelphia are really not like, but then there's one specific thing that would make you uncomfortable about them.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas Chicago, as tough as it is to beat a team twice and they can beat you and shoot out and all that stuff is true, at least you can move the ball against them.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: And to be the owners are just, they are far better suited to play with that type of game.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: We're now this, can you force a couple of mistakes, right, then they are to play.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Historically the types of game they've been comfortable playing historically the types of games they've played with Seattle You know in hindsight That Seattle game the 40 hours.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna be much better served if Donald had to throw the ball a bunch more and they couldn't run the ball as effectively or as much But you know, I think The opening drive one thing we don't never talk about with a team's opening drive We're talking about points no points.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: We don't talk about quarterback comfort
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: And for the Niners to, you know, the way that teams at at least played with Seattle was they got the ball out quickly and coming into that game pretty was 3.2 seconds time to throw, which is the second longest in the NFL.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: And by the third or fourth drive the 49ers, but really it was the second half they started getting the ball out quicker.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: But what we don't talk about with opening drives is a quarterback getting comfortable with this protection.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: Early in the game, what I was watching on the sideline was McCaffrey comes over and he talks to Brock.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, they're talking about protection.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to take, you can't hear him.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's so loud, even though I'm standing right there behind the bench.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: Or he's talking about, it was either protections or the check-down passing game.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: uh, and then after the next possession he went over McAfrey, he goes over to the offensive line and Trent Williams is over there and he's talking to Trent, like those do have a really good relationship.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: They talk a lot.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking to Trent, like what do you see and what do you think about this or that?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was clear that obviously talking about protection.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then Trent has some comments form and then kind of points and then Christian goes over and talks to Austin Plasins and tries to communicate with him right like it's such a loss not having Trent because he's an all world player, but be you just replacing him with a guy who doesn't have a lot of reps with this team so.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they, they just,
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I think that is where Philly comes into play in a way that Seattle kind of does, that Chicago doesn't.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I said on the post game, I leaned at rather play Philly just because they're all, but I think after watching it play out with Chicago and after watching this thing play out with Seattle, now Chicago is going to run the, like the problem is Chicago going to run the football dining to throw.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: You damned if you do damn if you, if you don't know why because, you know, their run game is very good.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: their points for game, one of the tops in the league, and their points for game on defense, and all offense, their points for game, one of the tops of league, they run the football.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I'd rather play in Philadelphia from a stadium weather standpoint, but then you get the crowd, Chicago's weather is just brutal, but you know, everybody's got a kick in it, Cairo Santos got a kick in it, but he's kicked in a lot, Eddie Pignero.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like it to stinger the thumb to me is the bigger thing than the hit at the end of the game.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: The opening play the last drive you cuts his thumb is that okay, you know if it just was bleeding and you close at the cut fine.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's still through the ball a couple of times fine after that.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: But you know that would be the that would be the thing.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: But never you know he never got into a rhythm.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: They never got it going.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that was not a, he came right back to that a big drive.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that didn't happen this week.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then I just think it, it kind of snowballs on your little bit.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: And yet it's 13.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's 10 to three.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: You got a shot.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was the, it was such a blowout for being 13 to three.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, the other thing they missed you remember early.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Last year, and even into the season, the big question was.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: Can Ricky Pierce all create separation against man to man coverage and the answer is well, he's their best guy at it.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he can and he's the best guy they got at it and they really missed him in this game.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I I was surprised when I saw the report Saturday morning that he wasn't going to play.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he's going to play this week, but I thought it was surprising his season
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: four games on one game off one game on now one game off and then we'll see if he's he's back for the playoff game.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not just that you've missed him.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's that there's really been no consistency to missing him.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: I thought when he got hurt early in the game last week.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Uh oh, but then he came back.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: So what's going on that knee?
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's weird.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's unclear.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: You think
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: And you should be good enough to play this week.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: Towshanna hits it after the game.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: Then you want to risk it.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing for Trent, which I get.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's understandable.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're not going to risk it, then hopefully you know, part of not risking it is, you know, you can lose the game.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: Do you get them back the next week?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Or are you thinking, are only real shots?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: is to have them healthy and have like three, you know, I guess two weeks arrest for them going into the body.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, then I just had a chance if they won that game to have had two buys in a six week span.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you count there a week 14 by the latest possible buy you can have and then the play off buy.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that was gonna be, I might say I'm press it down it.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: I could, I was not gonna figure out if it happened recently, but,
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: or ever, but that didn't happen.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: So, it sounds like, it sounds like, to me, it sounded like Trent was close-ish.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's I didn't really get a sense for a rather rickie was you would think it seemed like it was close, but then I turned out Couldn't go so whatever that means unclear I am wearing the San Francisco The hats we made I've been asked about them a lot.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: We made them you guys know I love making hats wearing hats I made them for Greg and our broadcast team and I saw they posted a photo I think the niner's posted a photo Greg wore it.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well first of all let's let's back up for a second It it was pretty amazing
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't, I was standing on the foot of the outside line three and a half out whatever was through before the game at the 50 yard line just watching Donald throw and I look and here comes pop and he's wearing this hat and it takes off and tips it and it was awesome to see.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: I have not seen him in person since I don't know when and I'm
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: came up and hugged and we talked for a while and it was awesome and well anyway I saw that somebody posted this photo and
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: of the hat.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: And in the replay, it was pretty incredible.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: In the reply, some spam reply, but several body counts posted links to the hat.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: When you was just a, it's just some website where you could put anything on a hat.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like they're making the hat.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I saw there's a various student reply, somebody noticed like, oh, that's not exactly the hat.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe if people want them,
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll make him, if you're listening, it's Greg's call, sand, France, let's go.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_00]: Which he did not get to use during the game.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I don't know, maybe we'll, I'll get together with Greg, if people want these.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: And we only made him, I made like 12 for the broadcasting.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: The guys at Ryan Chin, who makes hats in the area, and these are de-hudson hats I reached out to him.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: I love the hat.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: because I've gotten the brand this hat, it's like an athletic hat at a golf tournament last year and at the pro shop, you know, I really like the hat.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see, maybe we'll make them.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: I also saw, by the way, thanks to Puesto's Eric Adler.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: I guess Jerry Rice was at Puesto.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: which is cool.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, thanks, thanks to Plasto for their support.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: I, unless there's not another nine or home game, we probably will not have any more full week, Plasto ad buys, because we, we like doing the deal for the locations in the stadium.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I appreciate their support, Eric, support the Adler Brothers, support all your logs.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: So thanks again to them.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: See what happens.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as, as of this recording, the possibilities of where the Niners play the first round are, there are few.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, that it's possible they're back home.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it'll, you'd love in the playoffs if the Niners won for Green Bay to win, however, that plays out.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I thought, you know, I did want to say this too.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Greg, I, so I'm on the sideline.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: I've got earbuds in, listening to the broadcast, and I've got a microphone, and I could chime in.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sure I know, because I saw them and I talked them for a while after the game.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, you don't feel, you hadn't done a game in a, you know, a year.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: More, obviously, more than a year, hadn't done a game all season.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was not surprised.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: but I've said this and it's not like anything other than the truth.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: He is so excellent.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he's so unique.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: And part of it is stuff that I guess you could try and learn and a lot of it is stuff that can't be taught.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I was just in awe knowing what the job is, calling the game on radio, listening to him, call that game.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I loved, I mean, it was so, the emotional part of it and everything he's been through and the fact that he was back, all that is so special, and also he is so excellent.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: He is so excellent.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I've said a couple times, I hope people realize how good he is.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: And in the reality is, it doesn't really matter as long as you're entertained.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to technically recognize it all, you know, but I'm just here to tell you if if you haven't thought about it, no, that that guy, I believe you could put them up against any a pick your favorite Hall of Ambridecaster and pick the sport.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: And you could put him up against anybody and have a real debate, just from like a talent and skill and ability and execution standpoint, it really he is remarkable, he is remarkable.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: So it was a gift to fill in for him.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was a gift to be able to be on the broadcast with him and Tim Ryan and to be on the
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: and to go with the with the Niners wherever they're headed next, I'll be there.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll have some more shows this week.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not everything, but that's some of it to start the Sunday and we'll see what comes next.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right y'all.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: Later.
