- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our last break of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the day. It's been a fun day. We've had a
- 0:05Speaker 1: good time today. We always want to thank our audience
- 0:08Speaker 1: for listening. I appreciate appreciate one of you. Yes, that's
- 0:13Speaker 1: why we know, but one because thank you. Hey, y'all.
- 0:18Speaker 1: My clothes of remarks today, I want to do them
- 0:20Speaker 1: on this because we had this young sister called in
- 0:23Speaker 1: twenty six that just felt like her life was going nowhere.
- 0:26Speaker 1: She had graduated from college, she had moved back in
- 0:28Speaker 1: with her parents. All she do is go to jail.
- 0:31Speaker 1: She's only found part time work, she hasn't found anything
- 0:35Speaker 1: full time. It just feels like she's not She's looking
- 0:38Speaker 1: at her other friends and his life seemed to be
- 0:40Speaker 1: moving along and everything, and she's just sitting there desponded.
- 0:43Speaker 1: At twenty six. I try to remind her, as I
- 0:48Speaker 1: remind everybody, Do you understand that your path, the one
- 0:53Speaker 1: that you are on, is uniquely yours. Stop comparing yourself
- 0:58Speaker 1: to other bodies, because I I can promise you there
- 1:02Speaker 1: is no one on earth that's going through exactly what
- 1:08Speaker 1: you're going through, with the exact same set of circumstances,
- 1:11Speaker 1: with the exact same experience and with the exact same outcome.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's not happening. Yours is very unique. Your life is
- 1:21Speaker 1: unique to you. Now, that doesn't mean that somebody ain't
- 1:25Speaker 1: had the same thing happened to them. Occasions are occasions everybody.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Somebody's dealt with grief before, someone has dealt with the
- 1:34Speaker 1: firing before. Somebody has dealt with the repoll before. Somebody
- 1:38Speaker 1: has dealt with the sickness before. So that's not what
- 1:41Speaker 1: I'm saying. I am saying that your path is uniquely yours.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And the moment you start comparing yourself to someone else,
- 1:52Speaker 1: it brings up the saying that I heard that It's
- 1:57Speaker 1: so true. Comparison is the greatest thief of joy. If
- 2:04Speaker 1: you want to not feel good about yourself and not
- 2:07Speaker 1: feel good about where you are, start lining up some
- 2:10Speaker 1: other people and putting yours up against theirs, and you
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't even really know the situation of the other person,
- 2:17Speaker 1: You just putting it up there. You looking at they
- 2:19Speaker 1: Instagram and it looks better than your Instagram, and you
- 2:23Speaker 1: looking at your life and they showing you just the
- 2:27Speaker 1: good parts of day life, Well, well, what they bad
- 2:30Speaker 1: stuff at, what they problems at? Because you do know
- 2:33Speaker 1: they haveing them, don't you. You know everybody is going
- 2:36Speaker 1: through some form of failure somewhere. You know that everybody
- 2:41Speaker 1: is not getting it all right. You do know that,
- 2:43Speaker 1: don't you? But Nah, you sitting up here thinking you
- 2:47Speaker 1: the only one that ain't getting it right because you
- 2:49Speaker 1: keep comparing yourself to others. And when you compare yourself
- 2:52Speaker 1: to others, you lose sight of what God has done
- 2:55Speaker 1: for you. Y'all gotta slow this down, man, don't into
- 3:00Speaker 1: the comparison game, because you will lose sight of what
- 3:04Speaker 1: God has done for you. If I look at Tyler Perry,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I could find ways to think I'm not doing well.
- 3:12Speaker 1: If I look at Michael Jordan, I could find ways
- 3:15Speaker 1: to think I'm not doing well. Tiger Woods I could
- 3:17Speaker 1: find well. I could look at Brad Pitton find ways
- 3:20Speaker 1: to think I'm not doing well. But guess what I
- 3:23Speaker 1: am doing well if I don't compare myself to them.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You know, somebody asked me a question the other day,
- 3:32Speaker 1: hey man, what other celebrity would you trade lives with?
- 3:36Speaker 1: And I went nobody. Oh, so you think your life
- 3:39Speaker 1: is the best. No, But I'm accepting of the one
- 3:43Speaker 1: I have. I don't really know what's going on in
- 3:47Speaker 1: somebody else's house. I don't want what's going on. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: don't want who they married to, don't I don't want
- 3:54Speaker 1: the problems they have. I'm okay with where I am.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I have found peace in what God has done for me.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Gratitude erasist negativity. Comparison is the greatest thief of joy.
- 4:13Speaker 1: If you wake up in a certain mood. Let's say tomorrow,
- 4:17Speaker 1: you wake up on what they call the wrong side
- 4:19Speaker 1: of the bed, which I never have that. I don't
- 4:22Speaker 1: wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Long
- 4:24Speaker 1: as I wake up, I don't care what side I
- 4:25Speaker 1: get up on, as long as you wake me up.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Guess what I start with some gratitude, and that dissipates,
- 4:34Speaker 1: that disintegrates all negative energy. It is hard to be
- 4:40Speaker 1: negative and grateful, you know. I learned that best lesson
- 4:44Speaker 1: at my mother's funeral. We were all sitting there crying
- 4:46Speaker 1: on the front row, me and my brothers and sisters,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and the pastor got up and everybody had been talking
- 4:52Speaker 1: and I was the worst day of my life. And
- 4:55Speaker 1: he said to the Harvey kids, I know y'all feeling bad,
- 4:58Speaker 1: but sister Harvey was stand out member here at this
- 5:02Speaker 1: church for forty years as a Sunday school teacher. Y'all
- 5:06Speaker 1: haven't had a chance to look around, but I want
- 5:08Speaker 1: you to look around. And that church was packed, he said.
- 5:13Speaker 1: You haven't been downstairs, but our overflow room is completely full.
- 5:18Speaker 1: He said. You don't know this, but we had to
- 5:19Speaker 1: put up speakers outside in the parking lot because all
- 5:23Speaker 1: the parking lots that the church is full, we can't
- 5:25Speaker 1: let nobody else in the doors. That's the effect y'all's
- 5:29Speaker 1: mother had over forty years of a Sunday school teacher,
- 5:34Speaker 1: he said. And then I want you to think of
- 5:37Speaker 1: all the lives your mama has affected. Look at these
- 5:40Speaker 1: people in here. There's some people ain't been to this
- 5:42Speaker 1: church in years, came here to pay homage to your mama.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He said, you know how much good she did. And
- 5:49Speaker 1: then he told me the nugget that I needed. He said,
- 5:53Speaker 1: joy and depression cannot reside in the same space. Joy
- 6:00Speaker 1: and depression cannot reside in the same space. And what
- 6:05Speaker 1: he was saying to me was when it looks dark
- 6:08Speaker 1: for you, think of the good things. Think of all
- 6:11Speaker 1: the stuff you can be grateful for. When you start
- 6:14Speaker 1: feeling like you ain't got it going on, because if
- 6:17Speaker 1: somebody wish they had it going on just like you,
- 6:21Speaker 1: so be grateful, show gratitude, and stop comparing yourself to others.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Comparison is the greatest thief of joy. Those are my
- 6:29Speaker 1: closing remarks today. Hey listen, y'all, do yourself a huge
- 6:32Speaker 1: favor today. Talk to God today. He would absolutely love
- 6:37Speaker 1: to hear from you. You feel me, Let's go for
