- 0:12Speaker 2: Runners on the corners, one out.
- 0:13Speaker 1: First pitch Resatwich showing fun as Mia Scott breaks towards second.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Now Henry back to the plate, slides across as the
- 0:19Speaker 1: ball gets away, Mia going toward third, and she's there.
- 0:23Speaker 1: The Longhorns lead one, nothing oh one on outwood. She
- 0:26Speaker 1: wins in HiT's a high flight ball to left field.
- 0:29Speaker 1: It's gonna stay in the park. But right before the
- 0:31Speaker 1: warning track, Pickering makes the catch. Scott tags on third,
- 0:34Speaker 1: across the plate to nothing.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Texas all two strikes come.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Onto the plate while Lupi fly ball out past third.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Mia Scott on the run, makes the catch as she
- 0:47Speaker 1: gets into the outfield grass. Scott has played shut down
- 0:51Speaker 1: defense at third base for the Longhorns. That was her
- 0:55Speaker 1: first real chance in this one. On a tough play
- 0:58Speaker 1: and the senior comes up with it to end the
- 1:00Speaker 1: Sooners fifth's Here's.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Kate Henry Wurstitch.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Henry's right at right field down the line, high and
- 1:05Speaker 1: deep and gone.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Texas leads in the fifth.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Cayden Henry has been needing to wake up with the
- 1:12Speaker 1: beat a single earlier in the game, and now a
- 1:16Speaker 1: solo shot in Texas retamps the lead at.
- 1:19Speaker 6: Three to two.
- 1:23Speaker 1: On their way to the championship. Here's Mitchell, high and
- 1:26Speaker 1: deep to left, way back there, goodbye, Jolie Mitchell, her
- 1:32Speaker 1: third of the World Series. It's four two Texas. A
- 1:37Speaker 1: soaring drive ten feet into the bleachers. Ten beat, ten
- 1:41Speaker 1: rows into the bleachers in left center field. Stay hot,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Jolie Mitchell and the Longhorns lead by two. Two strikes,
- 1:49Speaker 1: two out on core, two on for Oklahoma.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Two run Texas lead.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Come on oh two swaying in a miss, Texas beads
- 1:59Speaker 1: Oklahoma up. Texas hands Oklahoma their first loss before the
- 2:15Speaker 1: Championship Series in the Women's College World Series since twenty
- 2:18Speaker 1: twenty one, and the Longhorns advanced to Monday's semifinals, needing
- 2:28Speaker 1: one win to go to the Championship Series. Chigan Cavan,
- 2:33Speaker 1: other than a slight misstep in the second that was
- 2:39Speaker 1: helped by the Longhorns error, she shuts down the Sooners
- 2:46Speaker 1: strands a pair in the seventh inning, when the Sooners
- 2:49Speaker 1: got the tying run on base with one out and
- 2:53Speaker 1: Texas beats Oklahoma four two. The Texas fight was drawn
- 3:04Speaker 1: today and the Longhorns improved to fifty three and eleven
- 3:08Speaker 1: on the season. Oklahoma balls to fifty one and eight
- 3:12Speaker 1: and they'll have to play Oregon tomorrow, needing a win
- 3:15Speaker 1: to keep their season alive, and then needing two wins
- 3:19Speaker 1: against either Texas Tech or UCLA on Monday to advance
- 3:24Speaker 1: to the Championship Series. The Longhorns need one win Monday
- 3:28Speaker 1: to play for a title from UFCU.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Dish falk Field.
- 3:32Speaker 7: It is an elimination Sunday afternoon game between the Texas
- 3:35Speaker 7: Loghorns and the Kansas State Wildcats. First pitch to Blue
- 3:39Speaker 7: swings here and hits ball. Well, this went out to
- 3:41Speaker 7: deep left field. Back to the warning track. You can
- 3:44Speaker 7: say good night to him. Opo Taco Max. Blue goes
- 3:50Speaker 7: the opposite way beyond the left field fence and the
- 3:53Speaker 7: Loggrns jump to a two to nothing league.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Here's the one.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Oh delivery swings here and hits a high five all
- 3:58Speaker 7: to right, this one with some carry, so the warning
- 4:00Speaker 7: track seg good night to it.
- 4:02Speaker 2: On the comal streets.
- 4:06Speaker 7: Another opposite field shot, this one out to right for
- 4:10Speaker 7: casey Borba. It's a grand slam and the log Warns
- 4:14Speaker 7: blow it open in the top of the first. They
- 4:16Speaker 7: lead it six to nothing. He go one swings here
- 4:19Speaker 7: and drives it up the middle of a shad Rbi
- 4:21Speaker 7: single for Jalen Flores. Trotting in to score from third
- 4:24Speaker 7: is Kimball Schusler and the Loggorns now lead.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It seven to three.
- 4:28Speaker 7: Really inflated by that grand slam went from two RBIs
- 4:31Speaker 7: in the regional.
- 4:31Speaker 2: The six swings here and sends another one out. You
- 4:34Speaker 2: can forget about this one saga night to it.
- 4:37Speaker 7: It is over the wall, beyond the left field bullpen
- 4:41Speaker 7: and across the service drive. Two home runs for casey Borba.
- 4:45Speaker 7: This one a three run blast, and the log Warns
- 4:49Speaker 7: now have more separation as they lead this one ten
- 4:52Speaker 7: to three. Three balls, two strengths, two outs. The strench
- 4:56Speaker 7: Rio has the pitch swing and a mess struck him out.
- 4:59Speaker 7: Ruder rares back and lets it fly. Real Hospital has
- 5:04Speaker 7: four strikeouts and the Wildcats are out in the fifth.
- 5:08Speaker 7: Here's the stretch and the pitch swung on and the
- 5:10Speaker 7: ball hit sinking liner to right. Blue is there, He
- 5:13Speaker 7: makes the catch and the Loggorns win the ball game.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Final score here in this elimination game, the Texas Longhorns
- 5:22Speaker 7: fifteen the Kansas State Wildcats eight from UFC Udish Faulk Field.
- 5:26Speaker 7: It's the regional championship the Texas Logorns against the UTSA Roadrunners.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Here's a pitch swung on.
- 5:34Speaker 7: Fly ball headed out to left, back to the warning track.
- 5:37Speaker 7: You could say good eye to it.
- 5:38Speaker 8: Well.
- 5:38Speaker 7: If that's the final at bat for Kimball Schusler in
- 5:41Speaker 7: a Texas log warn uniform, it's a memorable one. Shusler
- 5:45Speaker 7: drives it into the eddy yard a home run, and
- 5:49Speaker 7: it makes it a seven and two ball game. Two balls,
- 5:52Speaker 7: two strikes, two outs, the stretch from the right hander
- 5:54Speaker 7: or Alaski and the two to two pitch to Blue.
- 5:57Speaker 7: He swings here and hits the ball.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Well.
- 5:58Speaker 7: This went out the deep right field and you could
- 6:01Speaker 7: say good night to it. Well, but that was back
- 6:05Speaker 7: to blues final like that. As a long horn, it
- 6:08Speaker 7: was certainly memorable. Drives it on the comal streets three
- 6:12Speaker 7: balls and two strikes to three to two, swinging and
- 6:15Speaker 7: a miss. Shooster strikes out and that'll end the ball game,
- 6:19Speaker 7: and UTSA, for the first time in school history, will
- 6:22Speaker 7: go to a Super Regional in the ninth two runs
- 6:27Speaker 7: on two hits, nobody left. Final score tonight here at
- 6:33Speaker 7: the UFC Hunus Bonk Field, the UTSA Roadrunners seven, the
- 6:39Speaker 7: Texas Longhorns four.
- 6:41Speaker 1: The Texas Longhorns are taking the field for game one
- 6:45Speaker 1: of a possible four total games here in semi final
- 6:49Speaker 1: Monday at the Women's College World Series, Tennessee and Texas,
- 6:54Speaker 1: playing one or two to determine who goes on to
- 6:58Speaker 1: the championship series. That'll be a best of three starting Wednesday.
- 7:02Speaker 1: One one pitch, I fly ball to left, backing up
- 7:06Speaker 1: Alana Leech all the warning track waves back to the wall.
- 7:09Speaker 1: It is gone.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It's sailed out of here.
- 7:14Speaker 1: One nothing Texas. First pitch here checks wing roller left
- 7:18Speaker 1: side charging panel up with it grows Hi to first base.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's over and I think it's out of play. Mitchell
- 7:24Speaker 1: scores Hunter's safe. The Longhorns have added at least one
- 7:30Speaker 1: the play umpires, sending Stewart back to second. We'll see
- 7:38Speaker 1: where they end up getting to send Stewart across the plate.
- 7:42Speaker 1: But I don't think Marty Abazidian's having anything of that,
- 7:52Speaker 1: but panel at third base had plenty of time and
- 7:56Speaker 1: she air mails first base, so an error and the
- 8:01Speaker 1: Longhorns are up to nothing now one and two now
- 8:05Speaker 1: on Clark, the Longhorns fan standing in the Longhorn specific
- 8:09Speaker 1: section behind the third base dugout and in many places
- 8:13Speaker 1: around the park. One two bitch swaying in a miss
- 8:16Speaker 1: and Texas for the second year in a row, we'll
- 8:20Speaker 1: play for the National Championship. Two runs against Carlin Pickens
- 8:41Speaker 1: is all the Longhorns got. It's all they needed. Haiti
- 8:46Speaker 1: Stewart with a solo shot in the fourth and the
- 8:50Speaker 1: throwing error with two out of the sixth inning, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: Teague in Cavan came in and relief in the fifth
- 8:58Speaker 1: inning walked the first back sheet face did not allow
- 9:03Speaker 1: anyone else to reach base safely. Set down nine in
- 9:08Speaker 1: a row to send the Longhorns to the Championship Series
- 9:10Speaker 1: starting Wednesday, where they'll face either Oklahoma or Texas Tech
- 9:17Speaker 1: in a two out of three championship series. Longhorns victorious.
- 9:22Speaker 1: They are now fifty four and eleven on the season
- 9:24Speaker 1: Tennessee Balls and ends their season at forty seven and seventeen.
- 9:32Speaker 7: The good, the bad, the heartbreak, the excitement and the
- 9:37Speaker 7: exhilaration of a softball, baseball softball weekend. Good afternoon, everybody,
- 9:43Speaker 7: Welcome to the program here on Sports Radio AM thirteen
- 9:45Speaker 7: under the Zone. My name is Craig Way. Glad to
- 9:48Speaker 7: have you with us this afternoon, and you're hurting. The
- 9:51Speaker 7: highlight montage so expertly compiled by the producer Cameron Parker.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Cameron D. Parker.
- 10:00Speaker 7: The Dean Labor Certificate stands for Dallas, as in his
- 10:05Speaker 7: favorite pro football team that he's not keeping much track
- 10:08Speaker 7: up these days, but it can also stand for you
- 10:12Speaker 7: mentioned dominating last week, could be dominating for the one
- 10:16Speaker 7: and only Scotty Scheffler back wins at the Memorial.
- 10:21Speaker 2: That's that was pretty impressive.
- 10:22Speaker 9: So yeah, first one to do that since this guy
- 10:25Speaker 9: named Tiger Woods, so it tells you he's on a
- 10:29Speaker 9: he's an elite company right now, where you know, every
- 10:31Speaker 9: time he wins, it's like, well, how do you how
- 10:33Speaker 9: do you know?
- 10:34Speaker 10: How do you describe what he's doing right now?
- 10:35Speaker 9: And he keeps doing it and doing it, and you
- 10:37Speaker 9: know the US Open is in two weeks. Craig, you
- 10:39Speaker 9: got the Canadian Open this week, and then the US
- 10:42Speaker 9: Open next week at Oakmont, which is going to be
- 10:45Speaker 9: a fantastic venue, but it's going to suit Scotty's game
- 10:49Speaker 9: very well, so you know, he's We're in the territory
- 10:52Speaker 9: where it's like, okay, can anybody else beat Scotty Cheffer.
- 10:55Speaker 9: There are some people who are like, well, Ben Griffin's
- 10:57Speaker 9: playing really well. And then Scotty had the last two
- 11:00Speaker 9: goals he played on Saturday, I think won the tournament
- 11:04Speaker 9: because he had Ben Griffin, who's leading by three four
- 11:07Speaker 9: shots at the tar Hill, and everyone's like, man, you know,
- 11:09Speaker 9: Griffin had won the week before Colonial, he's playing well
- 11:12Speaker 9: this week at Memorial, and then Scotty just flipped the switch,
- 11:16Speaker 9: turned it on all of a sudden. He's leading going
- 11:18Speaker 9: in the Sunday and Griffin played really well yesterday but
- 11:21Speaker 9: wasn't enough to beat Scotty, who is who won by
- 11:24Speaker 9: two shots and now has won sixteen times on the tour.
- 11:28Speaker 9: He's won I think we're looking at what three times
- 11:31Speaker 9: this year, four times this year? I think four times
- 11:33Speaker 9: now overall, he's in a different place right now with
- 11:38Speaker 9: his golf game. So excited to see Jordan's beat the
- 11:41Speaker 9: t seven, which was a warm sight. He almost murdered
- 11:45Speaker 9: someone yesterday in the golf course. I don't know if
- 11:46Speaker 9: you saw the video, grow I did. The first hole,
- 11:49Speaker 9: he loses his t shot way right. He's in the rough,
- 11:52Speaker 9: and the rough at at Memorial is like les open rough,
- 11:56Speaker 9: so he's trying to play it out of the rough
- 11:58Speaker 9: to the green, and you know, there's some spectators who
- 12:00Speaker 9: are about twenty yards in front of them, and Jordan
- 12:04Speaker 9: just caught it thin and everyone had the duck and
- 12:07Speaker 9: he was this close had taking off someone's head. And
- 12:10Speaker 9: one of the spectators actually was recording it and he
- 12:13Speaker 9: posted the video. You you see the golf ball coming
- 12:15Speaker 9: at the phone. Then last second he ducks out of it.
- 12:17Speaker 9: Somehow Jordan made par in that old Suka twenty two footer.
- 12:20Speaker 9: But you know, good week for the UT guys, and
- 12:24Speaker 9: Scotty's doing Scotty things and excited to see what happens
- 12:28Speaker 9: at Oakmont. But like you mentioned, dominating, what he's doing
- 12:31Speaker 9: hasn't been done since Tiger Woods.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Straight down I seventy from Columbus because Doublin, Ohio not
- 12:37Speaker 7: far from Columbus. There they had a Memorial straight down
- 12:40Speaker 7: I seventy east, going over to Pittsburgh to start to
- 12:42Speaker 7: get ready at Oakmund. Okay, let me tell you what
- 12:44Speaker 7: we have coming up on the program this afternoon. You
- 12:48Speaker 7: heard in the highlight montage the Texas softball team win
- 12:52Speaker 7: today in the game you heard live here on thirteen
- 12:55Speaker 7: under the Zone as Texas Softball shut out Tennessee to nothing.
- 12:59Speaker 7: The long words, going back to the national Championship round
- 13:01Speaker 7: for the second straight year and for the third time
- 13:02Speaker 7: in four years, Texas will play the winner of the
- 13:05Speaker 7: game this evening between Oklahoma and Oregon excuse me, Oklahoma
- 13:09Speaker 7: and Texas Tech. And if Oklahoma wins, they'll have to
- 13:13Speaker 7: play one more time.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Against Texas Tech.
- 13:15Speaker 7: If the Red Raiders win, then it'll be Tech and
- 13:19Speaker 7: Texas for the national championship. So they will play this
- 13:22Speaker 7: evening and Texas will play the winner. So while they're chilling,
- 13:27Speaker 7: the head coach Mike White is going to join us
- 13:29Speaker 7: in an hour, so he'll join us coming up at
- 13:32Speaker 7: three fifteen, four to fifteen. Andrew Haynes, who called that
- 13:34Speaker 7: game for us here on thirteen hunder the Zone, will
- 13:38Speaker 7: join us as well. A little analysis of that as well,
- 13:40Speaker 7: and what to look forward to. So we'll have those
- 13:42Speaker 7: two things with regard to wrapping up salt pump. We
- 13:46Speaker 7: do have inconceivable coming up later this hour preview with
- 13:50Speaker 7: the NBA Finals, we've got it to get into that
- 13:52Speaker 7: and the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. There's been some pro
- 13:55Speaker 7: football news to get to and yes, of course the
- 13:58Speaker 7: end of the Texas Long worn baseball season. We're going
- 14:01Speaker 7: to talk about that coming up of the next segment,
- 14:03Speaker 7: the disappointment of how it ended after so much excitement
- 14:07Speaker 7: during the year. So the macro look, the thirty thousand
- 14:11Speaker 7: foot look as some people, some folks like to call
- 14:13Speaker 7: it at the entire season an evaluation and recap, So
- 14:18Speaker 7: we'll do all of those things coming up. As always,
- 14:21Speaker 7: we open up our text line to you for your questions,
- 14:23Speaker 7: your comments, your thoughts. You need only textus. You text
- 14:26Speaker 7: the word Texas follow by your question or comment to

- 14:37Speaker 7: three zero. Standard messaging and data rates may apply, so
- 14:40Speaker 7: we'll get to all your texts as well. We have
- 14:43Speaker 7: a lot to get to on the program. Glad to
- 14:45Speaker 7: have you with us on this Monday afternoon. Here, I'm
- 14:47Speaker 7: thirteen under.
- 14:48Speaker 11: The zone it's the Craig Way Show with the voice
- 14:59Speaker 11: of the tech Cis Longhords in Hall of Fame broadcast there, Craig.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Way, do you remember when we were kids and you
- 15:08Speaker 7: play tag, or when I was a little kid, they
- 15:10Speaker 7: might say freeze tag it freeze afterwards. That was kind
- 15:13Speaker 7: of what happened just then. That happens sometimes with the
- 15:17Speaker 7: computers in a computerized society. Sometimes it freezes, right, it's
- 15:21Speaker 7: a little computer free So that's what happened there. I
- 15:24Speaker 7: glad to have you with us on a Monday afternoon.
- 15:26Speaker 7: And as I mentioned, certainly we're happy to field your questions,
- 15:33Speaker 7: your comments and if you would like to ask a
- 15:39Speaker 7: question or have a comment about any specific thing, be

- 15:54Speaker 7: So if you got something you want to hit us
- 15:55Speaker 7: up with, feel free to do that. And what you
- 15:58Speaker 7: do is you text the word Texas by your along
- 16:04Speaker 7: with your question or comment to eight one five three zero.
- 16:08Speaker 7: So text the word Texas followed by your question of
- 16:10Speaker 7: comment to eight one five three zero.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Standard messaging and data age may apply.
- 16:15Speaker 7: Okay, I mentioned we just turned the montage with regardings softball,
- 16:19Speaker 7: we're going to hear Mike White's going to join us
- 16:23Speaker 7: on the program. We also may get a chance to
- 16:25Speaker 7: hear from some of the postgame news conference that just
- 16:28Speaker 7: that just happened, just a little bit of ghosts, and
- 16:30Speaker 7: we may we may hear some of that. But Coach
- 16:33Speaker 7: White's going to join us live in the three o'clock hour.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Andrew Haynes, who called the softball win over Tennessee, will
- 16:38Speaker 7: join us in the four o'clock hour. Also in the
- 16:41Speaker 7: four o'clock hour, we'll hear the full season ending press
- 16:45Speaker 7: conference with Jim Schlosnikel and Long Worn players following Texas
- 16:51Speaker 7: season ending loss last night to UTSA at UFCU. Just
- 16:54Speaker 7: followed field that was on the tail end of what
- 16:58Speaker 7: was hoped to be a survi Sunday, and the long
- 17:01Speaker 7: Horns did survive the first game, In fact, they flourished.
- 17:03Speaker 7: They beat Kansas State fifteen to eight, and Rugerio Hos
- 17:08Speaker 7: pitched the best he's pitched in a month, and they
- 17:12Speaker 7: got home runs. Max Blue hit a home run, Casey
- 17:14Speaker 7: Borba hit two. Borba drove in eight runs in that
- 17:19Speaker 7: first game, and so they did their job in the
- 17:21Speaker 7: first game, and it was about an hour and a
- 17:23Speaker 7: half turnaround from the time the first game ended to
- 17:28Speaker 7: when they had to take the field against UTSA, and
- 17:30Speaker 7: they had an opportunity in the top of the first
- 17:34Speaker 7: and got runners on the corners, could not get anything across,
- 17:37Speaker 7: and that might have been a harbinger of bad things
- 17:40Speaker 7: to come, because Norris mccluy hit a two run homer
- 17:43Speaker 7: in the bottom of the first inning as UTSA was
- 17:45Speaker 7: the designated home team, and they went on to get
- 17:48Speaker 7: the victory from their Seven to four was the final score,
- 17:51Speaker 7: and the long Corn season ends at forty four wins
- 17:53Speaker 7: and fourteen losses. Before we have a little bit of
- 17:56Speaker 7: an analysis on that, let's hear this was the postgame
- 17:59Speaker 7: interview that Schlass had with Roger Wallace down the field
- 18:02Speaker 7: on our broadcast last night.
- 18:03Speaker 12: And coach, your guys battled this afternoon, did what they
- 18:06Speaker 12: had to do. But how do you kind of sum
- 18:08Speaker 12: up what happened here tonight?
- 18:10Speaker 10: Well, we didn't do what we had to do. We
- 18:12Speaker 10: had to win, so we didn't do that, uh you know,
- 18:15Speaker 10: I mean, we gave them free bases and then they
- 18:17Speaker 10: got the big two out hit. Did we end up
- 18:20Speaker 10: with more hits than them. Yeah, so you know, we
- 18:22Speaker 10: just we didn't get it timely hit. They got it
- 18:24Speaker 10: timely hit. Centerfielder made an awesome play, big part of
- 18:27Speaker 10: the game. They outplayed us. I mean, they outplayed us
- 18:31Speaker 10: two days in a row. You know, I thought we battled,
- 18:34Speaker 10: but obviously, you know, I mean, what what the Schustler
- 18:37Speaker 10: and Galvan and Ballow, you know what those guys are
- 18:40Speaker 10: doing through injuries and crazy things, just incredible. You know,
- 18:44Speaker 10: it stinks in our season ends here, but they certainly,
- 18:49Speaker 10: at least for my time at Texas, they they set
- 18:51Speaker 10: a standard that a lot of people have to work
- 18:53Speaker 10: really hard to live up to.
- 18:54Speaker 12: I was gonna say, a new staff comes in, players
- 18:58Speaker 12: have to adjumpts the coaches. But it's also, uh, the
- 19:00Speaker 12: other way around. What is the group meant to you
- 19:03Speaker 12: that you inherited here?
- 19:04Speaker 10: Yeah? They mean the world? Man, awesome kids. Man, this
- 19:06Speaker 10: is It's like I said before, you know, I hope
- 19:10Speaker 10: we continue to increase the the level of play and
- 19:13Speaker 10: the talent level that kind of thing. But you're you
- 19:16Speaker 10: can't get better kids. You just can't get better kids
- 19:18Speaker 10: than than Shustler and Ballou and Jalen and Dre like
- 19:23Speaker 10: I go on and on. So it's uh got it stinks.
- 19:28Speaker 10: It stinks because you got to restart tomorrow and uh
- 19:31Speaker 10: you want to keep playing.
- 19:33Speaker 12: I know it's fresh, but you guys win the SEC
- 19:35Speaker 12: regular season title.
- 19:36Speaker 2: You battle through a lot of things. I mean hard
- 19:39Speaker 2: to say this.
- 19:40Speaker 12: The season has been a disappointment with what you accomplished.
- 19:43Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, I mean I get it Omaha, believe me, nobody.
- 19:46Speaker 10: I mean I'd rather barely get in the regional and
- 19:49Speaker 10: end up in Omaha. I mean, there's no question about that.
- 19:51Speaker 10: I understand that. We you know, everybody wants that. But
- 19:54Speaker 10: it doesn't take away from you know, the first ever
- 19:57Speaker 10: SEC team you know, no disrespect to those other teams
- 20:00Speaker 10: here at Texas. This is the best league Texas has
- 20:02Speaker 10: ever played in. I can promise you it's the deepest league.
- 20:05Speaker 10: So these guys have set an Austin standard that you know,
- 20:09Speaker 10: at least from a conference play standpoint, that I have
- 20:11Speaker 10: to have to be, uh, you know, live up to.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Well.
- 20:16Speaker 12: Speak for Craig and Keith and myself. Appreciate your time
- 20:19Speaker 12: all season long with us.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Thank you, appreciate you.
- 20:21Speaker 7: All right, that was the postgame conversation with Jim Slas Nigel,
- 20:25Speaker 7: the long Worne head coach. You can hear the disappointment
- 20:29Speaker 7: obviously in his voice. There was certainly the disappointment there
- 20:35Speaker 7: for Texas fans, the disappointment none bigger than obviously for
- 20:38Speaker 7: the long Warnon players. Slash said something pretty interesting to
- 20:42Speaker 7: me in the in the.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Pre game before the Kansas State game.
- 20:49Speaker 7: About how the guys had had so much, you know,
- 20:52Speaker 7: put more on their shoulders than they probably need to,
- 20:55Speaker 7: and needed to just relax and have fun and enjoy
- 20:58Speaker 7: the postseason a little bit more. And he said it,
- 21:00Speaker 7: A big part of this is they don't want to
- 21:02Speaker 7: disappoint anybody. They just don't want to disappoint anybody they
- 21:05Speaker 7: want to and that comes along with it. That's definitely
- 21:08Speaker 7: going to be a part of it. I think when
- 21:11Speaker 7: you look at the way this season unfolded and ultimately
- 21:17Speaker 7: the way it concluded, is you almost have to for
- 21:22Speaker 7: evaluate evaluative purposes evaluation to split it into two parts.
- 21:28Speaker 7: The first part, when everybody was healthy, was when Texas
- 21:31Speaker 7: was really really playing well. They got off to that
- 21:34Speaker 7: thirty eight and five start, but even before that, when
- 21:39Speaker 7: they had won seventeen year row, everybody was healthy. The
- 21:44Speaker 7: injuries did ultimately play a big part in this. It
- 21:48Speaker 7: wasn't the final determining factor, but it did determine some thing.
- 21:52Speaker 7: For example, Max Blue missing twenty six games with a
- 21:54Speaker 7: broken thumb. Adrian Rodriguez hit on top of the hand
- 22:00Speaker 7: to risk a handmate bone. He was fortunate, really fortunate,
- 22:04Speaker 7: in that he didn't break the bone, which you know,
- 22:08Speaker 7: took him. Would have, he would have probably missed the
- 22:10Speaker 7: rest of the season. He missed parts of lots of
- 22:13Speaker 7: games and then came back couldn't swing the bat right
- 22:17Speaker 7: handed the rest of the season. This is the guy's
- 22:20Speaker 7: you know, was a switch hitter, but he learned and
- 22:23Speaker 7: adapted to swinging from the left side. I think he
- 22:26Speaker 7: wound up hitting two fifty five against left handers after
- 22:29Speaker 7: starting off like fifty one. He was like two for
- 22:31Speaker 7: his first twenty seven and then and then made adjustments
- 22:36Speaker 7: and figured out a lot of things and got better
- 22:38Speaker 7: at it. But it was never one hundred percent the
- 22:42Speaker 7: rest of the way, and so he had to alternate
- 22:44Speaker 7: between second base and left field. Same thing happened with
- 22:46Speaker 7: Ethan Mendoza, who was having just a fabulous season, was
- 22:51Speaker 7: batting well above three fifty went diving for a ball
- 22:54Speaker 7: in the Kentucky series back behind second base in the
- 22:57Speaker 7: Sunday afternoon game, re injured a shoulder that he had
- 23:00Speaker 7: already had surgery on when he was playing in high
- 23:03Speaker 7: school at South Lake Carol. Was out of the lineup
- 23:06Speaker 7: for a while, then came back and could only DH
- 23:09Speaker 7: and then went back in at second base yesterday, but he's.
- 23:15Speaker 2: He had been in and out.
- 23:15Speaker 7: He also, by the way, had gone back in the
- 23:17Speaker 7: second base during the Oklahoma series and in the SEC
- 23:21Speaker 7: Tournament game against Tennessee. But somewhere in there, and Jim
- 23:26Speaker 7: Slason Eglas City wasn't sure when it happened. He either
- 23:28Speaker 7: happened in the Sunday game or the Saturday. It was Thursday,
- 23:31Speaker 7: Friday Saturday series with Oklahoma to conclude the regular season
- 23:34Speaker 7: in Norman. It was either then or it was in
- 23:39Speaker 7: the SEC Tournament game against Tennessee that he was hit
- 23:41Speaker 7: on the pitch with a knuckle injured a knuckle in
- 23:45Speaker 7: hand and so on his storming hand, and so that's
- 23:49Speaker 7: why he didn't start the tournament or the NCAA Regional
- 23:53Speaker 7: in the field. Started off as the DH, but then
- 23:57Speaker 7: felt well enough to play the field yesterday and did so.
- 23:59Speaker 7: There there were those those things, and Texas had to
- 24:03Speaker 7: work around those things. Of course, the thing that was
- 24:06Speaker 7: just kind of unrecoverable was the loss of Jared Spencer,
- 24:10Speaker 7: number one starter.
- 24:11Speaker 2: He was off to a really good start.
- 24:14Speaker 7: Spencer was fourn one in a three to two seventy
- 24:17Speaker 7: ra and opposing hitters were only batting two fifteen against him.
- 24:21Speaker 7: Me that just worked out marvelous, as well as the
- 24:24Speaker 7: Friday night start as a left hander. When he injured
- 24:26Speaker 7: the shoulder during that Auburn series, that was it and
- 24:30Speaker 7: the Longhorns never really discovered the guy to step in
- 24:35Speaker 7: and do the job. Not only that, Ruger Riojas having
- 24:38Speaker 7: to make the transition from Sunday started a Friday starter,
- 24:41Speaker 7: looked okay at first, and then he struggled for the
- 24:45Speaker 7: entire last month of the season until yesterday, and he
- 24:47Speaker 7: looked much like he did throughout a lot of the
- 24:49Speaker 7: earlier part.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Of the season.
- 24:51Speaker 7: So that was it was good to see him bounce
- 24:52Speaker 7: back and have a good start, which turned out to
- 24:55Speaker 7: be his final start of the season. Luke Harrison, I
- 24:57Speaker 7: think performed a little better as the season went on.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Now ended up getting no decision yesterday or a Saturday
- 25:06Speaker 7: Night in the contest, but did perform better than a
- 25:11Speaker 7: lot of folks fought he might perform, but the pitching
- 25:14Speaker 7: I don't think ever completely recovered, certainly from the loss
- 25:18Speaker 7: of losing Jared Spencer. Dylan Valantis was the SEC Freshman
- 25:21Speaker 7: of the Year. He set an SEC freshman wrecker with
- 25:24Speaker 7: eleven saves and conference playing wound up with twelve saves.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Overall, looked really good last.
- 25:29Speaker 7: Night and was okay in the Saturday night game, but
- 25:32Speaker 7: wound up four and one with a one ninety four
- 25:35Speaker 7: ERA and made First Team All SEC. There were different
- 25:39Speaker 7: guys who at different points of the season looked really good,
- 25:44Speaker 7: but not consistently every single time that they were called upon.
- 25:48Speaker 7: Guys like k Bing and Hudson Hamlet and Thomas Burns
- 25:53Speaker 7: and Grayson Sonier and Ethan Walker and Andre Diplanti. All
- 25:56Speaker 7: of those guys had moments where they looked really good
- 26:00Speaker 7: in helping Texas build this record, but down the stretch
- 26:03Speaker 7: it was difficult to find the one hot hand that
- 26:05Speaker 7: was going to do that. With regard to the hitting,
- 26:07Speaker 7: and I know a lot of folks were you know,
- 26:10Speaker 7: I'm unhappy with this. I mean, I'll say this with
- 26:12Speaker 7: regard to the hitting, Ethan Mendoza wound up leading the
- 26:16Speaker 7: long Worns in the hitting.
- 26:17Speaker 2: He've added three thirty three.
- 26:19Speaker 7: What they got from him as a transfer in from
- 26:21Speaker 7: Arizona State was above and beyond what they might have
- 26:24Speaker 7: been able to hope, and I thought it was good.
- 26:27Speaker 7: Adrian Rodriguez before the injury was batting well over four
- 26:30Speaker 7: hundred and then, like I said, had to make the adjustments.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Ultimately wound up at three thirteen, not bad for a
- 26:37Speaker 7: true freshman. He also stole fifteen bases and sixteen tries
- 26:40Speaker 7: like Mendoza did. Kimball Schuster just kind of the everyman
- 26:44Speaker 7: you know, and was the grad student and started off
- 26:47Speaker 7: at A and M and the injuries threatened even his career,
- 26:51Speaker 7: but still became very reliable and the pinnable and wound
- 26:54Speaker 7: up hitting three twelve and hit his final home run
- 26:57Speaker 7: as a Long Worn last night in the eighth inning.
- 27:00Speaker 7: Ryland Galvin, who took so much punishment, wound up being
- 27:04Speaker 7: the Longhorns home run leader with fifteen. So much punishment
- 27:08Speaker 7: behind the plate, but played did Ryland in fifty six
- 27:13Speaker 7: of the fifty eight ball games, starting fifty three of
- 27:16Speaker 7: those games.
- 27:17Speaker 2: He was above three hundred most of the season.
- 27:19Speaker 7: I think he got worn down a bit toward the end,
- 27:20Speaker 7: but still wound up at two ninety six the batting average.
- 27:23Speaker 7: Casey Borba had started off hot, went into an awful
- 27:27Speaker 7: slump for a long time, and then it's unfortunate to
- 27:29Speaker 7: see that the Longhorns can't continue the season. Because he
- 27:33Speaker 7: finished as definitely the best hitter. His batting average went
- 27:36Speaker 7: up seventeen points over the weekend, up the two seventy
- 27:39Speaker 7: eight because he had that monster regional effort.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Then I would say this.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Also the excitement of seeing Joanah Williams, you know, bat
- 27:52Speaker 7: three twenty seven In twenty ball games, he had eighteen
- 27:55Speaker 7: hits and fifty five at bats. He had to deal
- 27:57Speaker 7: with a hamstring situation, but then it healed up a
- 28:01Speaker 7: little bit better. He wound up stealing three bases, so
- 28:03Speaker 7: that was good to see. Max Blue unfortunately winds up
- 28:06Speaker 7: being an incomplete line for him because he had to
- 28:08Speaker 7: miss twenty six ball games. He saw action in thirty
- 28:11Speaker 7: two games, hit nine homers twenty nine rbs, wound up
- 28:14Speaker 7: batting three three, but his batting average dropped fifty five
- 28:16Speaker 7: points after he returned. In that Oklahoma game. He was
- 28:20Speaker 7: back three to fifty eight when he returned, and he
- 28:23Speaker 7: did have three home runs. I've had the dramatic one
- 28:26Speaker 7: at Ou and then two he hit yesterday, but that
- 28:29Speaker 7: was it for him afterwards. And then the other guys
- 28:33Speaker 7: I think in Eastern Winfield unfortunately couldn't give Texas enough
- 28:37Speaker 7: of what they wanted to see out of him to
- 28:38Speaker 7: transfer from UL Monroe. He batted to fifty out of that,
- 28:41Speaker 7: other guys like Jayden Deplantier and Jacquey Stewart and just
- 28:47Speaker 7: did not.
- 28:47Speaker 2: We're unable to step up.
- 28:49Speaker 7: They help the club much offensively, but I think the
- 28:51Speaker 7: biggest disappointment, and I know it's been been mentioned, the
- 28:53Speaker 7: biggest disappointment from an offensive perspective has been you know
- 28:58Speaker 7: what happened to the other three guys. Tommy Farmer wound
- 29:02Speaker 7: up batting two forty nine. He played in all fifty
- 29:05Speaker 7: eight ball games, he started forty eight of those, hit
- 29:08Speaker 7: one home run, drove in twenty five runs, and.
- 29:11Speaker 2: He struck out sixty five times. And then the two mentioned.
- 29:15Speaker 7: Most prominently, or Will Gasprino and Jayleen Flores. Gasparino hit
- 29:20Speaker 7: two forty two. He had thirteen ombers hit forty nine runs.
- 29:23Speaker 7: Bat at Any only had two hits in the regional
- 29:26Speaker 7: and he struck out sixty three times. Jalen Flores, a
- 29:30Speaker 7: preseason All American, hit only two thirty nine. He wound
- 29:34Speaker 7: up being their RBI leader with fifty four hit thirteen homers,
- 29:38Speaker 7: but he struck out fifty nine times, hit in the
- 29:40Speaker 7: seven double plays. Those were the things as well, in
- 29:44Speaker 7: committed eight errors in the field. So those are the
- 29:48Speaker 7: things I think that stand out as the most disappointing.
- 29:52Speaker 7: But then when you also compare it to what was expected.
- 29:56Speaker 7: This was the team that was expected, predicted, projected to
- 30:00Speaker 7: finish in eighth place in the SEC, and for them
- 30:03Speaker 7: to win the SEC regular season championship, I do think
- 30:06Speaker 7: is a significant accomplishment. However, when you are the number
- 30:09Speaker 7: two seed and playing at home, certainly the expectation elevates
- 30:14Speaker 7: and nobody expects more of them than the players and
- 30:16Speaker 7: the coaches themselves. No one is more disappointed than those guys.
- 30:20Speaker 7: So it's not like they take that lightly. And yours
- 30:23Speaker 7: law say it begins tomorrow, meaning today, they're already on it.
- 30:26Speaker 7: The portal opens today, so you know there's the people say, well,
- 30:32Speaker 7: you know it couldn't have been a good season. No,
- 30:35Speaker 7: They finished thirty above five hundred, they won forty four
- 30:37Speaker 7: ball games and won the SEC regular season title. I
- 30:40Speaker 7: think all of that has to be factored in juxtaposed
- 30:45Speaker 7: against the injuries in the way the season ultimately wound
- 30:47Speaker 7: up disappointing, absolutely, and I know they were heartbroken that
- 30:51Speaker 7: they couldn't be home to host the Super Regional and
- 30:54Speaker 7: have a shot to get Tomaha's the number two national seed.
- 30:58Speaker 7: It is also fair to point out, Listen, could Vanderbilt
- 31:01Speaker 7: being the number one overall seed and go from the
- 31:03Speaker 7: penthouse to the outhouse?
- 31:04Speaker 10: Was it?
- 31:05Speaker 7: Rick Barnes used to say, proud peacock one day, feather
- 31:08Speaker 7: dust or the next. They come from one week from
- 31:10Speaker 7: winning the SEC tournament championship to being completely out of
- 31:13Speaker 7: the SEC, out of the NCAA Tournament. They didn't even
- 31:16Speaker 7: get into the championship round of their own regional heartbreaking
- 31:21Speaker 7: for Georgia. Heartbreaking. Lose out Oregon and national seed heartbreaking.
- 31:25Speaker 7: And then you've got some teams that are being pushed
- 31:28Speaker 7: to the Clemson is another team that got knocked out,
- 31:31Speaker 7: heartbreaking for them.
- 31:32Speaker 2: There's other teams that are being pushed to.
- 31:34Speaker 7: The wall, including LSU, who lost to a little rock
- 31:36Speaker 7: team last night, the four seed that has a losing record,
- 31:40Speaker 7: But LSU has some really good arms reserved, and I
- 31:43Speaker 7: think they'll handle their business tonight. We're going to check
- 31:47Speaker 7: the regional scoreboard and we'll have some more analysis and
- 31:49Speaker 7: take more of your thoughts and your questions on all
- 31:51Speaker 7: of this. Coming up up next, we have Inconceivable here
- 31:54Speaker 7: on this Monday. I'm thirteen under the zone. Glad to
- 31:56Speaker 7: have you with us on this Monday afternoon. Coming up
- 31:58Speaker 7: in a few minutes, Mike White, Texas softball coach, joins
- 32:02Speaker 7: us live from Oklahoma City, where the Texas softball team
- 32:05Speaker 7: is qualified yet again, back to back. Here's three of
- 32:08Speaker 7: the last four years to play four national championship. They
- 32:10Speaker 7: shut out Tennessee today two nothing combined effort. Mac Morgan
- 32:14Speaker 7: got the wins with the first four innings. Teak In
- 32:16Speaker 7: Cavan picked up the save. Two home runs four in
- 32:20Speaker 7: Texas in the contest or a one home run and
- 32:23Speaker 7: then a run scoring on a throwing error and the
- 32:27Speaker 7: home run coming from Katie Stewart and then run scoring
- 32:31Speaker 7: on a throwing error and Texas fifty four to eleven.
- 32:35Speaker 7: Now will head to the national championship round. They're going
- 32:38Speaker 7: to play either Oklahoma or Texas Tech. Those two play tonight.
- 32:44Speaker 7: If Oklahoma wins, will play one more time. If Texas
- 32:47Speaker 7: Tech wins, it'll be Tech against Texas. Updating the College
- 32:51Speaker 7: Baseball Regional score board. North Carolina's broken through with four
- 32:54Speaker 7: runs and still batting in the top of the third
- 32:55Speaker 7: against Oklahoma. It's winner take all that final game there
- 32:59Speaker 7: Targia leave the Sooner seven to two in that that
- 33:02Speaker 7: was after Oklahoma won last night over Carolina nine to
- 33:06Speaker 7: five to four.
- 33:06Speaker 2: State final game.
- 33:08Speaker 7: Today and with regard to the rest of the regional
- 33:13Speaker 7: alignments for today, the if necessary games that are taking
- 33:19Speaker 7: place today and the one and the teams who have
- 33:22Speaker 7: already qualified now for the National championship next round the
- 33:27Speaker 7: super regionals. First of all the teams that have already qualified.
- 33:33Speaker 7: Louisville has won the Nashville Regional. They beat Wright State
- 33:37Speaker 7: last night after Wright State eliminated the top seed Vanderbilt,
- 33:40Speaker 7: so Louisville is in. They're waiting on the winner of
- 33:43Speaker 7: the regional to be completed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the number
- 33:47Speaker 7: sixteen seed overall seeds Southern miss dropped its first game
- 33:51Speaker 7: to Columbia.
- 33:51Speaker 2: They bounced back.
- 33:52Speaker 7: They eliminated Alabama, then eliminated Columbia. They beat Miami last
- 33:56Speaker 7: night and they have to beat them one more time
- 33:59Speaker 7: later today in order to qualify to play Louisville in
- 34:01Speaker 7: Super Regional Tallahassee. Florida State able to go through and
- 34:06Speaker 7: win their regional final last night of our Mississippi State,
- 34:10Speaker 7: they're waiting to match up with the winner in Cortvallas.
- 34:12Speaker 7: Oregon State dropped its first game on Friday night the
- 34:15Speaker 7: Saint Mary's the number eight seed, but then they eliminated
- 34:18Speaker 7: TC on Saturday.
- 34:19Speaker 2: They beat usc fourteen to one. Last night.
- 34:22Speaker 7: They had to play one more time tonight to see
- 34:24Speaker 7: who will match up with Florida State in the super regional.
- 34:27Speaker 7: I mentioned the North Carolina Oklahoma game going on winter
- 34:29Speaker 7: that is going to face Arizona if North Carolina wins
- 34:31Speaker 7: the host that super regional. Arizona won the Eugene Oregon Regional,
- 34:36Speaker 7: where the twelve seed was Oregon got knocked out of course,
- 34:39Speaker 7: Texas eliminated by UTSA. UTSA will be headed to Los
- 34:43Speaker 7: Angeles to play UCLA, which won its own regional as
- 34:47Speaker 7: the number fifteen seed. Duke won the Athens Georgia Regional,
- 34:52Speaker 7: beating Oklahoma State, who knocked out the number seven national
- 34:55Speaker 7: seed Georgia yesterday, Duke Advances. They're waiting on the winner
- 34:58Speaker 7: of tonight's game between old and Murray State. Murray State
- 35:02Speaker 7: won Overall Miss on Friday, but Old Miss came back.
- 35:06Speaker 7: They eliminated Western Kentucky, then Georgia Tech, then they beat
- 35:10Speaker 7: Murray State last night. They play one more time, and
- 35:12Speaker 7: then LSU, which had won two games handily over Rhode
- 35:17Speaker 7: Island and Dallas Baptist or excuse me, Little Rock in
- 35:20Speaker 7: Dallas Baptists then faced up against Little Rock, the four
- 35:24Speaker 7: seed with a losing record, and Little Rock stayed alive
- 35:28Speaker 7: by eliminating Dallas Baptists and then beat LSU last night,
- 35:32Speaker 7: so they have to play one more time night. The
- 35:34Speaker 7: winner is going to match up with West Virginia, who
- 35:36Speaker 7: won the Clemson Regional, and then finally, in the bottom
- 35:39Speaker 7: of the bracket, Tennessee and Wake Forest have to play
- 35:41Speaker 7: one more time. The winner of that will draw Arkansas,
- 35:43Speaker 7: which won its regional, and they will host the Super Regional.
- 35:47Speaker 7: All right, there, there it is. You're up to date
- 35:49Speaker 7: on the NCAA Baseball regional round up. Next, we'll talk
- 35:55Speaker 7: College World Series for softball, with Texas headed to the
- 36:00Speaker 7: National Championship Series. That's next when we continue on thirteen
- 36:03Speaker 7: under the Zone, it's.
- 36:11Speaker 11: The Craigway Show with the voice of the Texas Longhorns
- 36:15Speaker 11: and Hall of Fame broadcast there Craig Way.
- 36:28Speaker 7: Three fourteen on a Monday afternoon, coming on the weekend.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Long Worn Baseball season ends at forty four and fourteen.
- 36:36Speaker 7: We had some analysis of it last hour. Some more
- 36:38Speaker 7: coming up we'll here also from Jim Schlasnago Long Worn
- 36:42Speaker 7: players coming up in the next segment for the news conference,
- 36:46Speaker 7: they're updating the regional game that's going on right now
- 36:49Speaker 7: in Chapel Oil, North Carolina. They've just finished the bottom
- 36:52Speaker 7: of the third inning. Oklahoma is the designated home team
- 36:54Speaker 7: for this one game, winner, take all game seven, as
- 36:58Speaker 7: it's called. I've always been I won't say confused, bite.
- 37:02Speaker 7: I understand the numerology involved. It's the seventh game of
- 37:06Speaker 7: the regional overall, but it's not the seventh game between
- 37:09Speaker 7: the two teams. It's the third game between the two teams.
- 37:12Speaker 7: North Carolina beat Oklahoma on Saturday night. Oklahoma won a
- 37:16Speaker 7: survival game last night of the Tar Heels, and now
- 37:18Speaker 7: they're playing one more winner take all game after Oklahoma
- 37:22Speaker 7: fought its way back through the elimination bracket and North
- 37:26Speaker 7: Carolina leads that one by a score of seven to two.
- 37:28Speaker 2: That is, through three innings, no.
- 37:30Speaker 7: Need for an elimination bracket. For the Texas long Horns
- 37:33Speaker 7: softball team. The Longhorns are through to the National Championship Round.
- 37:37Speaker 7: As you heard it live here on thirteen hundred Zone
- 37:39Speaker 7: this afternoon with Andrew Haynes on the call. Texas with
- 37:42Speaker 7: a two to nothing shutout of the Tennessee Volunteers back
- 37:45Speaker 7: in the National Championship Round for the second straight year,
- 37:47Speaker 7: for the third time in these past four seasons. Very
- 37:51Speaker 7: pleased to be joined live right now from Oklahoma City
- 37:53Speaker 7: by head coach Mike White. I'm always curious when you
- 37:57Speaker 7: get a big win like this at the postseason and
- 37:59Speaker 7: you've got a couple of days. I know there's planning
- 38:01Speaker 7: that goes on, but how much of this do you
- 38:03Speaker 7: allow yourself to enjoy?
- 38:05Speaker 2: Mike, congratulations on the wind.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Well know so much myself, but thank you for that.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Know so much myself.
- 38:11Speaker 4: But the girls, for sure, they were told about man
- 38:13Speaker 4: cues and pittyqs and things like that, so you know
- 38:15Speaker 4: they're enjoying the time off for sure. But it's great
- 38:19Speaker 4: to be able to sit back and be able to
- 38:20Speaker 4: watch the other teams compete and then find out who
- 38:22Speaker 4: we play.
- 38:24Speaker 2: So no manny petty for you there.
- 38:26Speaker 7: You can relax and enjoy a cold malted beverage while
- 38:28Speaker 7: they're working on your feet or something like that.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Now, maybe the latter without the defeat. But yeah, hey, yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 3: I'll do what I have to do.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to. I was curious to get your
- 38:38Speaker 2: thoughts on this.
- 38:39Speaker 7: You'd talk to Holly Roy was watching the telecast when
- 38:42Speaker 7: you mentioned about how you were setting up your pitching
- 38:45Speaker 7: for it, and it started with Mac Morgan and you
- 38:46Speaker 7: and I talked about Mac last week and you said
- 38:48Speaker 7: she's going to be an important part of what we
- 38:51Speaker 7: do before this is done. And what she really seemed
- 38:55Speaker 7: on the beam today even doing what she normally doesn't
- 38:59Speaker 7: do in great bun this is getting strikeouts because she
- 39:01Speaker 7: does such a fabulous job at getting posting players to
- 39:04Speaker 7: hit the ball on the ground. But how would you
- 39:06Speaker 7: characterize what you saw in analyzing what Mac did for
- 39:09Speaker 7: you in the circle today?
- 39:11Speaker 10: Oh?
- 39:11Speaker 4: It was huge for us, you know, the ability to
- 39:13Speaker 4: go out there and play against one of the best
- 39:15Speaker 4: hitting teams in the country. I mean they got seven
- 39:17Speaker 4: runs off the Florida the last the other night, just
- 39:19Speaker 4: in the fisht S innings. So to come out and
- 39:21Speaker 4: really set the tone for us defensively, you know, and
- 39:24Speaker 4: they allow us to kind of battle that way through
- 39:26Speaker 4: against one of the best pictures in the country.
- 39:28Speaker 3: It was great and also allowed Tiagan to have a
- 39:30Speaker 3: little extra risk.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Well, and that's where I was going next, because you
- 39:34Speaker 7: know a lot of layman fans would sit back and
- 39:37Speaker 7: see what maca done and say they're making a change.
- 39:40Speaker 7: He's making a change, he's bringing it. But Tigan's been
- 39:43Speaker 7: your go to your bell cow all season long. So
- 39:45Speaker 7: was it in your mind as soon as you got
- 39:47Speaker 7: a lead you were going to go to Tigan or
- 39:50Speaker 7: did it just depend on how Mac was going or
- 39:53Speaker 7: was there a point even if you had not gotten
- 39:56Speaker 7: the homer from Katie Stewart and was still scoreless after
- 39:58Speaker 7: for what was your your plan as that was you
- 40:02Speaker 7: might say, unfolding throughout the course of the middle innings.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, I mean you always make plans and
- 40:08Speaker 4: there to be adjusted and the plan was to go
- 40:11Speaker 4: five innings with Mac, so we were one short of that.
- 40:15Speaker 3: But I thought it was time.
- 40:16Speaker 4: She was getting the ball up just a little bit,
- 40:18Speaker 4: and that's a telltale sign when we need to make
- 40:20Speaker 4: a change with Mac. But I'm just so proud of
- 40:22Speaker 4: her the way she fighted it, with the way she
- 40:24Speaker 4: fought and you know, kept that team in the game.
- 40:26Speaker 3: And then of course once we got that lead, it
- 40:28Speaker 3: was like, we're not giving this up.
- 40:31Speaker 7: How sure were you that the ball off Katie's battle
- 40:34Speaker 7: was a home run? I mean, seeing all the replays,
- 40:37Speaker 7: it was very very close, and maybe a leap might
- 40:40Speaker 7: have been able to get it, might not have.
- 40:42Speaker 2: But when it came off the bat, were you thinking
- 40:44Speaker 2: it was going out?
- 40:46Speaker 3: I thought it may have a chance, but I thought
- 40:48Speaker 3: it was going to stay in. And then it started drifting.
- 40:50Speaker 4: I saw her drifting, and I was like, let's go,
- 40:52Speaker 4: come on, And then you know, I think we got
- 40:55Speaker 4: some heavenly helps up there.
- 40:56Speaker 3: So it definitely just barely met.
- 40:58Speaker 7: It overs with Mike White, Texas softball coach here on
- 41:02Speaker 7: thirteen hundred the Zenter. Okay, you brought up Teagan and
- 41:05Speaker 7: how important it was when you got the lead also
- 41:08Speaker 7: how important you think it was since you've got a
- 41:11Speaker 7: day off tomorrow for her, even as much work as
- 41:15Speaker 7: she has put in the season for her still to
- 41:17Speaker 7: get in there give you three innings she got to
- 41:19Speaker 7: save to get in a little if you almost you
- 41:22Speaker 7: might say, tune up, work some work there before she
- 41:25Speaker 7: goes back to the circle for you on Wednesday.
- 41:28Speaker 4: Yeah, she's pitching a little bit more than she normally
- 41:30Speaker 4: does for us, but just been really impressed with his
- 41:32Speaker 4: stamina so far, and she looked pretty good coming in.
- 41:36Speaker 4: So just ability to discover three innings, I think just
- 41:39Speaker 4: over forty pitches, so it wasn't too bad. So I
- 41:41Speaker 4: think your pitch count, considering she's thrown in three games,
- 41:44Speaker 4: is relatively low, and of course getting another day off
- 41:47Speaker 4: tomorrow cerily helps as well.
- 41:49Speaker 7: You know, it's it was a pretty emotional win for
- 41:56Speaker 7: Oklahoma over Oklahoma. It would be that way for anybody
- 41:59Speaker 7: given the excellence of the suitors.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Were you able to.
- 42:02Speaker 7: Tell a tangible emotional lift and carryover for your group
- 42:08Speaker 7: not just because it was a win and not just
- 42:11Speaker 7: because it was a win in the in the College
- 42:13Speaker 7: World Series there in Oklahoma City, but because of who
- 42:17Speaker 7: it was. You beat where you beat them, and the
- 42:21Speaker 7: impact that it carried for you numerically into the semifinals.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Yeah, all three of those things put together for sure.
- 42:27Speaker 4: I mean it was a huge breakthrough wind Draft program.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I mean the first time was when we actually beat them,
- 42:33Speaker 4: I think a couple of years ago with Hailey Dulcini
- 42:35Speaker 4: and I think we won the one the.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Series against them, you know, said that was the first breakthrough.
- 42:40Speaker 4: And then you know, we hadn't really beaten them in
- 42:42Speaker 4: Oklahoma at all, and we really hadn't played that well
- 42:45Speaker 4: against the Mantel you the truth, and for us to
- 42:47Speaker 4: kind of get that monkey off that back, so to speak,
- 42:50Speaker 4: is huge, and hopefully we can continue to play free
- 42:53Speaker 4: and and with confidence like we are doing right now.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Curious to get your thoughts on this.
- 42:57Speaker 7: I've read and seen and her quite a few comments
- 43:02Speaker 7: from coaches and players of other teams there in Oklahoma
- 43:06Speaker 7: City talking about this being kind of an unfair advantage
- 43:10Speaker 7: for Oklahoma playing at Devon Park and all of that
- 43:12Speaker 7: sort of stuff. Is your group only because they've played
- 43:16Speaker 7: there so much and because they've played Oklahoma as much
- 43:19Speaker 7: as they played them in that state, are they pretty
- 43:22Speaker 7: easily able to block? Out all the extraneous, and it's
- 43:25Speaker 7: an awful lot of extraneous, the noise and the excitement
- 43:29Speaker 7: and the obvious home crowd advantage that the Sooners have
- 43:31Speaker 7: when they're out there.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it certainly is something that's to their advantage and
- 43:36Speaker 4: we know that, but there's nothing we can do about
- 43:38Speaker 4: it except compete. And we've just got to put that
- 43:40Speaker 4: behind us and you know, start making excuses and so
- 43:43Speaker 4: to speak, and really just kind of focus on what
- 43:46Speaker 4: we can control and what we need to do and
- 43:49Speaker 4: just work our way through it.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I thought the other night.
- 43:51Speaker 4: When we played really well, the Crab was a little
- 43:53Speaker 4: bit more quiet, so we kind of took them out
- 43:56Speaker 4: of it, and that was a big advantage for us actually.
- 43:58Speaker 7: In imperfect world and when we all live in an
- 44:02Speaker 7: imperfect world, but Mike, in a perfect world, would an
- 44:06Speaker 7: more ideal situation be for I don't know if it'd
- 44:09Speaker 7: be the NCAA or a sparticular city, maybe in Frisco
- 44:13Speaker 7: in the Dallas Forward area, which is really billing itself
- 44:15Speaker 7: as a sports complex capital of the World. To have
- 44:20Speaker 7: a twenty thousand seat or whatever fifteen thousand seat saltball
- 44:23Speaker 7: stadium in a big market that doesn't necessarily have a
- 44:27Speaker 7: collegiate allegiance to have a true neutral site. In a
- 44:31Speaker 7: perfect world, would that would that be a more ideal setup.
- 44:34Speaker 3: I think it's somebody to look at the next time round.
- 44:36Speaker 4: I know there was a multi year contract because the
- 44:39Speaker 4: city of Oklahoma City put in a lot of money.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I think of a twenty million dollars into that stadium
- 44:45Speaker 4: that was part of the agreement to get it for
- 44:46Speaker 4: so many years.
- 44:47Speaker 3: So I think the next time round, I think it
- 44:49Speaker 3: would be something to look at.
- 44:50Speaker 4: I mean, you really shouldn't ideally have a field like
- 44:54Speaker 4: that within thirty miles or twenty miles of someone's campus.
- 44:57Speaker 4: That's definitely a major player in the sport. But you know, again,
- 45:01Speaker 4: we know it is what it is, and and they
- 45:03Speaker 4: were willing to put put the money up and put
- 45:05Speaker 4: the funds. But it was also at the home of
- 45:06Speaker 4: Essay Softball as well before the collegurbal series if it
- 45:10Speaker 4: came here as well, so it was a well known
- 45:12Speaker 4: city for softball.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Visiting with Mike White, Texas softball coach.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Okay, let's uh, let's turn the attention toward this, uh,
- 45:20Speaker 7: this other semifinal. How do you and the staff go
- 45:24Speaker 7: about uh, your viewing of this game between Texas Tech
- 45:28Speaker 7: and Oklahoma. You're well acquainted obviously not only with the Sooners,
- 45:32Speaker 7: but but also with the Red Raiders and Najerie Kennedy
- 45:34Speaker 7: and uh that sort of thing. So how closely are
- 45:37Speaker 7: you not only just watching him, but in terms of
- 45:40Speaker 7: your scouting thing and with the things that you're looking
- 45:43Speaker 7: for tonight as those two get together.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think as you can tell, you know,
- 45:48Speaker 4: Jerry Glasco is quite the trickster, and you know you
- 45:51Speaker 4: don't see homestilling very often, and he been softball and
- 45:54Speaker 4: he did that the other night. And he likes to
- 45:56Speaker 4: run and be a little unpredictable, so that could happen again.
- 46:00Speaker 4: He could use his speed to kind of play on
- 46:01Speaker 4: their defense a little bit. And of course they have
- 46:03Speaker 4: the ace in the hole with Nijia Cannery candidate. She's
- 46:06Speaker 4: a tremendous pitcher and has a below one ERA, so
- 46:10Speaker 4: it's not very often you score a lot of runs
- 46:12Speaker 4: against her, so you know, they kind of have that
- 46:14Speaker 4: advantage right now.
- 46:15Speaker 3: But again they're going to have to hit, you know,
- 46:17Speaker 3: as soon as pitching as well.
- 46:19Speaker 7: Given the fact that your team has had success against her,
- 46:23Speaker 7: Kennedy I'm talking about as well as the most recent
- 46:25Speaker 7: of success against Oklahoma. You think your group's going to
- 46:28Speaker 7: have a really good feeling regardless of who comes out
- 46:31Speaker 7: of that other side to match up with for the championship.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we've got to feel good about ourselves. We can't
- 46:37Speaker 4: be worried about what the other team's going to do.
- 46:38Speaker 4: And I think you know our team kind of sit
- 46:40Speaker 4: that in the press conference today, is we have to
- 46:41Speaker 4: worry more about what we're going to do than what
- 46:43Speaker 4: the other team's going to do. Obviously, we're going to
- 46:45Speaker 4: have to have a game plan against who when we play,
- 46:48Speaker 4: but we've got to have that confidence that we've played
- 46:50Speaker 4: these teams and we've played in this environment and we
- 46:52Speaker 4: can beat them.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Mike, I appreciate the time as always.
- 46:56Speaker 7: I'm glad you had a chance to in a very
- 46:59Speaker 7: pleasant way cat breath coming off the win, and obviously
- 47:02Speaker 7: appreciate you joining us again. Wish you the best of
- 47:05Speaker 7: luck and we'll be watching and listening very very carefully.
- 47:07Speaker 7: Good luck in this one and beginning on Wednesday.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Thank you, Greg. I appreciate being enough tolt fans and
- 47:13Speaker 3: hook them.
- 47:13Speaker 10: Hook them.
- 47:14Speaker 7: Indeed, that is Mike White, Texas softball coach. They're in
- 47:17Speaker 7: the national Championship round. They're going to play the winner
- 47:21Speaker 7: of Texas Tech and Oklahoma. Now again, if Oklahoma wins
- 47:24Speaker 7: this game against Tech, they forced one final if necessary game,
- 47:27Speaker 7: which Tennessee could have done had Tennessee been able to
- 47:30Speaker 7: beat Texas.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Didn't happen.
- 47:32Speaker 7: Great pitching for Mac and Morgan through the first four innings,
- 47:35Speaker 7: and then Teak and Caban and the Longhorns got enough runs.
- 47:37Speaker 7: We got a home run from Katie Stewart and then
- 47:39Speaker 7: scored a run on a throwing error as well. So
- 47:42Speaker 7: they win to nothing and they're in the championship round
- 47:45Speaker 7: and they will play the winner whoever comes out of
- 47:47Speaker 7: that other side, Oklahoma or Texas Tech. All right, coming up,
- 47:52Speaker 7: we'll update the regional baseball scoreboard for you, and we're
- 47:55Speaker 7: going to hear from Long Horns head coach him slasn Agle,
- 47:57Speaker 7: and Texas players as well. Here on this Monday afternoon here,
- 48:03Speaker 7: coming off of the weekend on sports Radio AM thirteen
- 48:06Speaker 7: under the Zone.
- 48:21Speaker 11: Welcome back to the Craig Way Show and the voice
- 48:24Speaker 11: of the Longhorns.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Craig Way.
- 48:26Speaker 11: Follow Craig on social media at Horn Boys.
- 48:31Speaker 7: All right, Thanks again to Texas softball coach Mike White
- 48:34Speaker 7: joining us. Not often you can get a head coach
- 48:37Speaker 7: of a team it's just qualified to play in a
- 48:38Speaker 7: National championship game to join you live, like an hour
- 48:42Speaker 7: and a half after his team had wrapped up its
- 48:45Speaker 7: semi final win. But we appreciate coach White joining us
- 48:48Speaker 7: there to talk about that. Texas Softball in the National
- 48:52Speaker 7: Championship round against the winner of the matchup between Oklahoma
- 48:54Speaker 7: and Texas Tech. Speaking of Oklahoma, the Sooner baseball team
- 48:58Speaker 7: had pushed Carolina into a final lyff necessary game in
- 49:02Speaker 7: the regional and the contest right now is in the
- 49:05Speaker 7: bottom of the fourth inning. Oklahoma is the designated visiting
- 49:10Speaker 7: home team home team, but the Sooners have some climbing
- 49:13Speaker 7: they do. They're down eight to two to North Carolina.
- 49:16Speaker 7: It was three nothing Tar Heels. Sooners pulled it within
- 49:18Speaker 7: a run at three two, and then North Carolina had
- 49:21Speaker 7: a four run third and scored a run on the
- 49:23Speaker 7: top of the fourth. We're in the bottom of the
- 49:24Speaker 7: fourth inning right now at Boshmer Stadium in Chapel Hill.
- 49:28Speaker 7: North Carolina leads Oklahoma eight to two. If the tar
- 49:30Speaker 7: Heels win, that Regional. They will host the super Regional
- 49:35Speaker 7: against Arizona. Arizona won the regional up in Eugene, Oregon
- 49:39Speaker 7: against the twelve seat. Oregon went two in barbecue. They
- 49:41Speaker 7: were the first national seat to get knocked out. There
- 49:44Speaker 7: was that controversial play. I don't know if you may
- 49:47Speaker 7: have seen it by now the highlights late late Friday night.
- 49:49Speaker 7: I was watching it live when it happened where the
- 49:54Speaker 7: runner was coming in for Utah Valley I guess it was,
- 49:58Speaker 7: and coming in for Oregon, and first they called interference
- 50:04Speaker 7: on the catcher, then reversed the call called obstruction on
- 50:08Speaker 7: the part of the runner and ejected him from the
- 50:10Speaker 7: ball game, which meant he was ineligible for the next game.
- 50:13Speaker 7: It caused a lot of heated comments from a lot
- 50:15Speaker 7: of different people, including broadcasters as well. You know, it's
- 50:21Speaker 7: since they've redefined and continue to redefine that rule about
- 50:26Speaker 7: fielding your position and blocking the plate and all that
- 50:28Speaker 7: other kind of stuff. It's very blurry in terms of
- 50:32Speaker 7: trying to figure out exactly what the call should be
- 50:37Speaker 7: in that situation. Because the runner is coming up, coming
- 50:40Speaker 7: in high with the hands up a little bit, and
- 50:42Speaker 7: that's what the umpire you used to help him determine
- 50:48Speaker 7: his ruling on that, and then they had.
- 50:50Speaker 2: I think it was a sixteen minute delay. It was something.
- 50:55Speaker 2: It was a long long delay.
- 51:00Speaker 13: You know.
- 51:00Speaker 7: I'd gotten home Friday night. I had left the uh
- 51:07Speaker 7: the matchup between uts A and K State, and I
- 51:12Speaker 7: wasn't feeling well and I had to get back to
- 51:13Speaker 7: the house. Went back to the house, and UH saw
- 51:18Speaker 7: that happen on that. So anyway, that's that's it's the
- 51:22Speaker 7: situation on that. A couple of offerings on the on
- 51:28Speaker 7: the text line. So they said in baseball, be where
- 51:30Speaker 7: the three to one count went on defense and the
- 51:33Speaker 7: one two count when batting, it usually doesn't work out.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Well, it's a good point, very good point.
- 51:40Speaker 7: Uh, with the whole thing we were talking about Harty's
- 51:42Speaker 7: and Carl's Junior not so, he said, Carls Junior is
- 51:44Speaker 7: the dr Wiener Schnitzel of the Hamburger world, because you
- 51:49Speaker 7: can get Hamburger's at Wiener Stitzel.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Have we get a Hamburger winnerst You've never been to Wiener.
- 51:54Speaker 10: Snitz No, no Stitzel.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 51:58Speaker 3: Are you kidding?
- 51:58Speaker 10: As food hot dogs?
- 52:00Speaker 2: Talk to Jeff Howe about it. I tell you.
- 52:03Speaker 8: Uh.
- 52:03Speaker 2: The of course this is coming from a guy who
- 52:06Speaker 2: is a teenager. You are, you were the king of Weening.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I thanks, I appreciate you putting in that way.
- 52:11Speaker 7: I did work at a place called Weener King in
- 52:14Speaker 7: Greensboro and Battleground on high Point Road.
- 52:16Speaker 10: The uh uh uh.
- 52:18Speaker 2: There's a Wiener Stintsel across the street from Q two Stadium.
- 52:21Speaker 10: You can't miss it. About ugly red and yellow and
- 52:24Speaker 10: you can't not miss them.
- 52:25Speaker 7: There used to be one in Cedar Park, right there
- 52:28Speaker 7: on Bell Boulevard. It's there's a pizza place there now,
- 52:31Speaker 7: but it's right there on Bell Boulevard. There used to
- 52:33Speaker 7: be one there.
- 52:35Speaker 10: So anyway, that's the keeping that place open.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Lots of people. I don't know, keeping the Wieners.
- 52:41Speaker 9: I feel like, you know, watch dogs are good, but
- 52:45Speaker 9: I mean you gotta be in the you gotta be
- 52:46Speaker 9: in a hot dog mood.
- 52:47Speaker 10: Yeah, like hamburgers and chicken and all that.
- 52:50Speaker 9: Understand, Like, hey, I ain't sent for lunch something other
- 52:53Speaker 9: Chick fil a or McDonald's hot dog for lunch.
- 52:56Speaker 7: There used to be a place near over near suit Patrick.
- 52:59Speaker 7: It was all burn It. It was in that shopping
- 53:01Speaker 7: center of their called man bites dog. It was a
- 53:05Speaker 7: good hot dog joint. It was for a while they
- 53:07Speaker 7: had that for there. Anyways, Carls Junior is the your
- 53:11Speaker 7: Wiener Schnitzel of the Hamburger that started in California Wiener Stinsel,
- 53:15Speaker 7: and it's still there. And then with regard to the
- 53:18Speaker 7: softball Summer Final between Oklahom and Texas Tech, someone text
- 53:23Speaker 7: and I hope, oh you wins the first game. I
- 53:25Speaker 7: get where you're coming on that, because what you want
- 53:27Speaker 7: is whoever wins, you want them to be a bit depleted.
- 53:30Speaker 7: And n Igerie Kennedy has been really, really good. And
- 53:33Speaker 7: even if you want Texas Tech to beat Oklahoma, you're
- 53:38Speaker 7: probably wanting UH at least the Sooners to win that
- 53:41Speaker 7: one game and then maybe Tech when they even if
- 53:44Speaker 7: you're rooting for Tech, no matter who you're rooting for,
- 53:47Speaker 7: I think you're wanting Oklahoma will at least whin the
- 53:49Speaker 7: first game and kind of extend them a little bit more.
- 53:52Speaker 7: We'll see how all that's going on.
- 53:54Speaker 9: I think you you want Tech to win, Craig, I
- 53:56Speaker 9: understand that Kennedy's probably maybe the best picture in all
- 54:01Speaker 9: of softball, but remember, you know you just talked about
- 54:04Speaker 9: with Mike White. You're playing in Oklahoma's backyard, and they
- 54:07Speaker 9: don't lose too often in Okay. See, they especially don't
- 54:11Speaker 9: lose more than.
- 54:12Speaker 10: Once in case.
- 54:13Speaker 7: Yeah happened a while since they are the four time
- 54:16Speaker 7: defending national champions. All right, let's hear from long Worns
- 54:19Speaker 7: head coach Hims losting on Texas players. This is the
- 54:21Speaker 7: press conference after the season ending loss last night to UTSA.
- 54:26Speaker 10: Yeah, congratulations Utsa, as I told Coach Hallmark at home plate,
- 54:33Speaker 10: And yeah, it's not a fly by night team. That's
- 54:35Speaker 10: a real team. That's an Omahall caliber club in every way.
- 54:39Speaker 10: They can play a lot of different brands of baseball,
- 54:43Speaker 10: they can pitch, and certainly they, like I said the
- 54:47Speaker 10: other night, they have a definitely have a persona about
- 54:50Speaker 10: them and a winning, winning persona. So I thought, we,
- 54:55Speaker 10: you know, we just we gave them too many free
- 54:56Speaker 10: bases there in one inning Hodge got the big two
- 54:59Speaker 10: out hit. Uh, you know, we just didn't bunch our hits,
- 55:02Speaker 10: and we you know, we didn't have some balls fall
- 55:04Speaker 10: in light or made an awesome play in center field.
- 55:08Speaker 10: I was proud probably where our guys competed pretty banged up,
- 55:13Speaker 10: which every team is, but really proud of our team.
- 55:16Speaker 10: And and as I just told him, you know, no
- 55:21Speaker 10: disrespect to the teams in the past, but this is
- 55:23Speaker 10: the first team at Texas that's ever had to play
- 55:25Speaker 10: through the SEC and to beat SEC champion and host
- 55:30Speaker 10: the regional. Uh, we all understand Omaha is where we
- 55:34Speaker 10: all want to end up. But when you go forty
- 55:36Speaker 10: four and fourteen in our league, it doesn't make it
- 55:39Speaker 10: a bad season just to not the not the right ending.
- 55:42Speaker 6: So that's all I got, aans coach, We'll start with
- 55:48Speaker 6: questions now, please raise your hand.
- 55:50Speaker 3: We'll bring them.
- 55:50Speaker 10: Mike friends around.
- 55:51Speaker 2: We'll start with Kirk on the left.
- 55:56Speaker 14: Jim, as far as you know, May wasn't real kind
- 55:59Speaker 14: of y'all, and you know, I don't know if you'll
- 56:01Speaker 14: lost some mojo or worn down, and with the loss
- 56:04Speaker 14: of Jared and everything booting, if you could just say
- 56:06Speaker 14: kind of what went wrong that maybe didn't play quiet
- 56:09Speaker 14: like y'all had almost.
- 56:10Speaker 10: The whole year, that's a good question, you know, I think, uh,
- 56:16Speaker 10: I think we had a lot of things go away
- 56:19Speaker 10: the first two thirds of the season. You know, we
- 56:21Speaker 10: get the two out hit, we make the pitch, the
- 56:24Speaker 10: ball gets hit at us and we don't want a
- 56:26Speaker 10: lot of close games. Think about the A and M series.
- 56:29Speaker 10: I think they had the tying end, go ahead run
- 56:33Speaker 10: on base all three games to end the game. So
- 56:37Speaker 10: kind of living you know, in the in the margins,
- 56:41Speaker 10: and that's where the but that's where college baseball is.
- 56:43Speaker 10: I mean, that's the difference between the teams that advance
- 56:47Speaker 10: and the teams that don't. I haven't seen well everything
- 56:49Speaker 10: that went on today, but I know that there's a
- 56:51Speaker 10: lot of really good teams that aren't playing and anymore.
- 56:55Speaker 10: And that just means that you know, the game of
- 56:58Speaker 10: basement game of baseball got them, and there's a so
- 57:00Speaker 10: other good teams. I mean, UTSA is really good. I
- 57:02Speaker 10: watched Right State play. They're they're good, you know. And
- 57:05Speaker 10: and that doesn't just because you're in just because you're
- 57:08Speaker 10: in the SEC, or just because you're in a Power
- 57:10Speaker 10: of five league or power whatever league, doesn't mean there
- 57:12Speaker 10: isn't great baseball being played other places. And you have
- 57:15Speaker 10: to go play well at the right time. So so
- 57:18Speaker 10: I don't besides injury, I mean, certainly to answer your question, Kirk,
- 57:23Speaker 10: the snowball effect of all of that, Uh, maybe you
- 57:28Speaker 10: could say that, but you know, we just have to
- 57:31Speaker 10: be a better team, a deeper team over time.
- 57:35Speaker 15: In case you just kind of your overall thoughts and
- 57:37Speaker 15: I'm sure as a disappointing moment for you in this
- 57:40Speaker 15: team and just not being able to accomplish what you
- 57:42Speaker 15: all wanted to accomplish this year.
- 57:44Speaker 16: Yeah, you know, I mean last nine months, I could
- 57:47Speaker 16: truly say like it's been the most fun I've had
- 57:49Speaker 16: playing baseball my whole life. And you know, we have
- 57:52Speaker 16: a brotherhood in there, and I mean it doesn't get
- 57:54Speaker 16: better than that. You know, our season and the way
- 57:57Speaker 16: we wanted to but that's why we next year, come back,
- 58:02Speaker 16: ready to go next year.
- 58:06Speaker 8: Questions for Casey on the right, Casey, Uh, not the
- 58:11Speaker 8: cleanest game in the infield over the last few games,
- 58:13Speaker 8: but as a veteran, what were you trying to do
- 58:15Speaker 8: to keep it together in there and try to try
- 58:18Speaker 8: to make the best defensive plays as possible.
- 58:20Speaker 16: Yeah, we talk a lot about you know, if it
- 58:22Speaker 16: happens this ta can go. It happened a million years ago,
- 58:24Speaker 16: meaning you just move on to the next pitch. And
- 58:27Speaker 16: you know, we made a lot of mistakes which can't
- 58:29Speaker 16: happen in ball games like this and must win games.
- 58:32Speaker 16: So that's something that we have to be better at
- 58:35Speaker 16: for next year, and you know, our preparation is going
- 58:38Speaker 16: to be even better for next year to ensure that
- 58:42Speaker 16: that won't happen again.
- 58:44Speaker 17: We'll go from the left casey on's the emotion of
- 58:49Speaker 17: of what you're feeling right now kind of goes away.
- 58:52Speaker 17: How do you think you'll remember this year?
- 58:55Speaker 10: You know?
- 58:55Speaker 16: Like I said, I mean, last nine months been the
- 58:58Speaker 16: best nine months of my life. I've never had this
- 59:00Speaker 16: much fun playing baseball with this team. It's just yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 16: I mean, it sucks right now. We're gonna get through
- 59:10Speaker 16: it and we'll go next year. We'll go on the
- 59:16Speaker 16: left Kirk.
- 59:18Speaker 14: Case, you from your standpoint in the teams, Uh, did
- 59:22Speaker 14: you feel like yall lost a lot of momentum, you
- 59:24Speaker 14: know once you turned into May for whatever reason, because
- 59:28Speaker 14: you guys have been such a hot streak for three
- 59:30Speaker 14: months before that.
- 59:32Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, I think that's just part of That's
- 59:34Speaker 10: just baseball.
- 59:35Speaker 3: It's a hard game.
- 59:36Speaker 16: You're not gonna win every single game, and that's where
- 59:40Speaker 16: it goes back to just moving on to the next pitch.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Every day's opening day.
- 59:44Speaker 16: We definitely could be could do a better job of
- 59:46Speaker 16: that going forward and just leave no nothing to nothing behind.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Go ahead, Cedric.
- 59:55Speaker 18: In case you were with the conversations like between games,
- 59:58Speaker 18: you know you guys got how far offensively and how
- 1:00:02Speaker 18: are you guys feeling coming into the night camp.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think we felt good overall. You know,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: we're gonna get our swing.
- 1:00:10Speaker 16: Off and try to do damage, put put together a
- 1:00:13Speaker 16: team of bats and compete the hardest we can, knowing
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: that it's a must win game or we go home.
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: So I mean, overall, we felt pretty good. I think
- 1:00:25Speaker 16: as an offense going into the game, get interest in it,
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: end up how we wanted.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: We'll go to the right tag.
- 1:00:31Speaker 19: Go ahead, canc So, thinking about this season, what would
- 1:00:34Speaker 19: you say, or if you even think about it, what's
- 1:00:37Speaker 19: your most what are you most proud.
- 1:00:39Speaker 10: Of over this last season?
- 1:00:42Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean, I think just the total compete that
- 1:00:46Speaker 16: we've had throughout the year. I mean, we didn't end
- 1:00:48Speaker 16: the way we wanted to, the last couple of months
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: weren't the best for us, But I mean we won
- 1:00:55Speaker 16: the SEC regular season. I mean that's something to be
- 1:00:59Speaker 16: proud about. Definitely not the greatest thing we could have
- 1:01:03Speaker 16: done this year. We could have done way more but
- 1:01:06Speaker 16: just didn't go our way.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Any other questions for Casey seeing none?
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: Thank you, Casey. You're good to go back to locker room.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: We'll continue now with questions for coach. Raise your hand,
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: let me know if you have a question, and bring
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: the microphones around.
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: We'll go on your.
- 1:01:28Speaker 17: Left, Jim, once you have some distance. I guess from
- 1:01:34Speaker 17: this moment, do you think you'll you'll look upon this
- 1:01:37Speaker 17: season and what you achieved as a success.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: For sure?
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: Yeah, I can. I feel very confident in saying that,
- 1:01:49Speaker 10: know what we know now relative to June twenty or
- 1:01:53Speaker 10: twenty six this time. You know last year that we
- 1:01:58Speaker 10: got one hand. I mean, we're not an We're not
- 1:02:01Speaker 10: gonna be in an Omaha, so we didn't get the
- 1:02:02Speaker 10: most out of our team. But I feel like that
- 1:02:06Speaker 10: compared to where we started to where we are today,
- 1:02:09Speaker 10: program's in really good shape, headed in the right direction,
- 1:02:14Speaker 10: and I feel confident that our coaching staff, given the situation,
- 1:02:19Speaker 10: got the most out of our team. And I can.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I can put.
- 1:02:22Speaker 10: I won't sleep for a while because we're not playing anymore.
- 1:02:26Speaker 10: The saddest thing is just to not wake up tomorrow
- 1:02:28Speaker 10: and be able to go to practice. That's the worst
- 1:02:32Speaker 10: part and to be around the guys and so so yeah,
- 1:02:37Speaker 10: it's it's I understand the standard, I get it. But
- 1:02:41Speaker 10: you can have a good season and not end up
- 1:02:43Speaker 10: in Omaha. And that's that's part of it. You know,
- 1:02:47Speaker 10: it's tournament baseball, and so uh, just like any other
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: age of play, you can play poorly where the other
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: team can play awesome on a couple of days, and
- 1:02:57Speaker 10: it can go the opposite direction.
- 1:03:00Speaker 18: Sadrick, go ahead, June and the loss of Jared was
- 1:03:05Speaker 18: did we underestimate how big that was gonna be aspose
- 1:03:08Speaker 18: the people on the outside looking in.
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: I don't know if we under I mean, we didn't
- 1:03:13Speaker 10: underestimate it. We knew, you know, I mean I knew
- 1:03:15Speaker 10: going into the season that for us to have a
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: great year, our best players had to stay healthy and
- 1:03:21Speaker 10: they had to had to have really good seasons. And
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: some of them did and some of them are just okay.
- 1:03:26Speaker 10: But to lose a marquee pitcher like that, given where
- 1:03:31Speaker 10: we are in the program, yeah, that's tough one.
- 1:03:35Speaker 13: You know.
- 1:03:36Speaker 10: I think we picked up slack as best as possible,
- 1:03:39Speaker 10: Guys like Ethan Walker and Hudson Hamilton, you know, not
- 1:03:43Speaker 10: to mention Grubs Valantis Burns. We've been riding those guys
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: all year, Ruger to the rotation. It's definitely not the
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: way we drew it up to start the year, but
- 1:03:51Speaker 10: I feel like we adjusted throughout the course of the season.
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: Ended up forty four and fourteen out of the sec.
- 1:03:58Speaker 10: It puts us in position. You know, our job is
- 1:04:00Speaker 10: to be My job is our coaching staff's job is
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: to put ourselves in a position to get to Omahall.
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: We did that, but we just didn't execute in the
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: games needed to win the games in the regional. Let's
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: go in the back and then we'll come back here.
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: Coach, What was behind the decision to keep Violent in
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: the game when he seemed to be invisible paying every
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: time he swung them bad?
- 1:04:24Speaker 10: I don't know what he said, Uh be because you
- 1:04:30Speaker 10: we're at the last game. Yeah. I asked him a
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: thousand times, ay man, you need to get you and
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: he said it only hurts after I swing. So it
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: is what it is. Went went behind the decision was
- 1:04:46Speaker 10: him he can still play. I mean he's got a
- 1:04:48Speaker 10: base hit the last at bat, competitive at bats, the
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: whole whole game. But who knows, you know, he's got
- 1:04:56Speaker 10: it's he took a really rough one there in the
- 1:04:58Speaker 10: first game. Let's go to the left, Danny.
- 1:05:02Speaker 15: Were you able to diagnose throughout the season why the
- 1:05:05Speaker 15: hit by pitches were an issue, especially tonight.
- 1:05:10Speaker 10: No, I mean, yeah, it's obviously a horrific issue. I
- 1:05:18Speaker 10: think some of that is pitching style. We don't have big,
- 1:05:23Speaker 10: big fastball arms yet in this program, and so we
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: throw a ton of off speed pitches, a ton of
- 1:05:31Speaker 10: We're known for that. I think the overall work of
- 1:05:37Speaker 10: body of work on the pitching staff over the course
- 1:05:39Speaker 10: of the season it's really good. But the obviously the
- 1:05:43Speaker 10: hit batters was I mean, we pretty much hit a
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: small country over the course of the year. I can't
- 1:05:49Speaker 10: do that next year. But yes, I don't know how.
- 1:05:53Speaker 10: I don't know what you do. I mean, there's no
- 1:05:54Speaker 10: sign I'm giving him to say hit the guy. It's
- 1:05:57Speaker 10: just that, Seriously, most of them almost all off speed pitches,
- 1:06:01Speaker 10: and they're all off speed pitches that get away from
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: But those are the same off speed pitches that got
- 1:06:04Speaker 10: the guys out. So believe me, I don't I don't
- 1:06:09Speaker 10: like it either. I'm sure from a fan perspective, it's
- 1:06:12Speaker 10: even worse, Kurt Goohead, can.
- 1:06:15Speaker 14: You talk a little bit about starting Hudson the decision
- 1:06:19Speaker 14: and did you even consider starting Dylan.
- 1:06:22Speaker 10: I didn't think about starting Dylan, thought about starting Burns,
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: but we felt like Hudson could get us off to
- 1:06:30Speaker 10: a good start. With exception of one pitch which McClure
- 1:06:35Speaker 10: got to put a good swing on it, I thought
- 1:06:36Speaker 10: he did fine. Walker. He's been money for us for
- 1:06:40Speaker 10: the last month. I mean, the whole reason that we're
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: even here is he was throwing strikes, and he he
- 1:06:46Speaker 10: hit two guys, loaded the bases, and then you know,
- 1:06:49Speaker 10: we got the ball to grubs right on right to
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: to tie, and and he hung a breaking ball and
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: tied smoked. So credit to Ty Hodge. No, I wasn't.
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: I mean, I didn't think. I didn't think about doing that,
- 1:07:06Speaker 10: Giving that he threw, you know, some pitches last night.
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: I wanted him to be deeper in the game. But
- 1:07:13Speaker 10: you could make an argument for it, for sure. Believe me,
- 1:07:16Speaker 10: I'll question all of it my own mind. On your right, Kerry,
- 1:07:20Speaker 10: go ahead.
- 1:07:21Speaker 19: So I'd like to ask you what I asked Casey,
- 1:07:22Speaker 19: even though the season didn't end the way you wanted it,
- 1:07:25Speaker 19: what are you most proud of I mean, you had
- 1:07:26Speaker 19: a great season.
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: Yeah, just just most proud of the way our kids
- 1:07:32Speaker 10: handled themselves. You know, it's a lot to go through
- 1:07:34Speaker 10: a coaching change. It's a lot to go through what
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: they went through last year, and you know, turmoil in
- 1:07:41Speaker 10: the summer. You know, pretty much everybody on the team's
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: a transfer because you have I mean literally, because even
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: the guys that were here are coming in working with
- 1:07:49Speaker 10: the new coaching staff. And I guess the thing is
- 1:07:52Speaker 10: just the buy in the leadership was incredible. Shustler gal
- 1:08:00Speaker 10: on Jalen me keep going, Max. I mean, all those
- 1:08:03Speaker 10: guys are just just if I if I had told
- 1:08:06Speaker 10: them today, hey, grab the we're gonna hit with We're
- 1:08:10Speaker 10: gonna hold the barrel today, we're just gonna hit with
- 1:08:12Speaker 10: the handle, which sometimes looked like we were doing that,
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: but they'd have done it. I mean, there's total buy in.
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: Coach will do whatever you say. I mean, that's that's
- 1:08:20Speaker 10: hard to find. And uh, we ended up not where
- 1:08:23Speaker 10: we wanted to end the season, but forty four and
- 1:08:26Speaker 10: fourteen is a good year. Let's go n Parker in
- 1:08:29Speaker 10: the back. It's Darby, That's okay.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: Everyone does that.
- 1:08:33Speaker 20: It was coach.
- 1:08:35Speaker 10: Obviously, you guys had seen UTSA before. What was the
- 1:08:38Speaker 10: concern level heading into this weekend? Just you know, the
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: that you'd seen them and lost of them earlier this season. Uh, well,
- 1:08:44Speaker 10: first of all, I have a good team, Like that's
- 1:08:47Speaker 10: that's that's what again, That's why I told coach har
- 1:08:49Speaker 10: Mark at home.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Play like that's it's not a fluke.
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: It's not a some team that had a losing record
- 1:08:57Speaker 10: and then all of a sudden showed up Pear and
- 1:08:58Speaker 10: one regional and it's a real team, right handed, left handed,
- 1:09:01Speaker 10: switch run power, different pictures out of the bullpen, and
- 1:09:07Speaker 10: a persona and and so you know, and that's that's
- 1:09:11Speaker 10: it's more than just beating Texas. I mean, they have
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: a good team and coach and they're they're very well coached,
- 1:09:16Speaker 10: and coach Hallmark has been around the block man, and
- 1:09:19Speaker 10: I'm it sucked. I mean, I hate it for us,
- 1:09:22Speaker 10: but I'm super happy for him, and Coach Graham would
- 1:09:25Speaker 10: be super proud of him, and I know that means
- 1:09:26Speaker 10: a lot to him, and and so, uh, you know,
- 1:09:29Speaker 10: I've been in a different jersey and wanted postseason tournament
- 1:09:32Speaker 10: on this field, so I know, I know what that
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: feels like to to try to get your program over
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: the hump, and it stinks for stinks for us, But
- 1:09:41Speaker 10: I'm truly happy for coach Hallmark. It's really good and
- 1:09:45Speaker 10: his team.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Just go to the right go ahead.
- 1:09:48Speaker 21: Coach Jerry Briggs from San Antonio, I want to ask
- 1:09:52Speaker 21: about the first inning y'all's first at bat, the run
- 1:09:57Speaker 21: across the plate.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: We thought it was like a pass ball or or wall.
- 1:10:01Speaker 21: Pitch or something, and then they then it ended up,
- 1:10:03Speaker 21: you know, eventually being taken off the board.
- 1:10:05Speaker 10: What was the explanation there. Yeah, he swung and missed
- 1:10:09Speaker 10: and the ball hit his foot. It hit his foot, yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: so dead ball is like three dead ball over?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Was there a do you think there was a.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Did that?
- 1:10:20Speaker 19: Did that?
- 1:10:21Speaker 21: Did that have an effect on y'all early in the game,
- 1:10:23Speaker 21: just to have one taken off?
- 1:10:26Speaker 10: I mean, it would have been nice to see the
- 1:10:27Speaker 10: next guy hit Borba who hit two homers the first
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: game with the bases loaded, But uh, but no, I
- 1:10:33Speaker 10: mean it was the right It was the right call.
- 1:10:35Speaker 10: I mean, obviously they reviewed it. So all those things
- 1:10:38Speaker 10: and again those are the margins, you know, they got
- 1:10:41Speaker 10: off the field. And then in the thirteen. We couldn't
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: get off the field, which is why they're still playing.
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: So uh there it is Jim's last Nigel with the
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: postgame press conference from last night there certainly giving credit
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: to and and rightly so to UTSA.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: That's our It is a very good team.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: That reminds me of a lot of other dangerous two
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: seeds I've seen come in here in the past, and
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: it kind of reminds me of that U see R
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: Vine team I saw back in two thousand and seven
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: that had been Orloff, who's now the head coach of
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: the and Eaters, and they came in and won at
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: that region that was played at Del Diamond and they
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: went on to Omaha to the College World Series. So
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: it kind of reminds me of that group a little
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: bit and how aggressive they are and how hard nosed
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: and all that, and the reflection of their head coach
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: Pat Hallmark for sure. All right, we'll be back to
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: wrap up our number two on thirteen.
- 1:11:34Speaker 10: Under the Zone.
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: On thirteen Under the Zone, Craig Way alongside the producer
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: Cameron Parker, Glad to have you with us here on
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: this Monday afternoon, coming off the weekend that saw the
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: baseball season unfortunately from the Texas perspective, come to an end.
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: Congratulations out A, UTSA, a great year, a landmark here
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: for them. For Pat Hallmark's group, at one time an
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: assistant at Rice alongside David Pearson were both assistants for
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: Wayne Graham. At Rice and then coach Hallmark did a
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: heck of a job at UIW incarnate word one Southern
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: Conference Coach of the Year honors there and then one
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors at UTSA.
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: And now they're moving on in the region super Regionals
- 1:12:19Speaker 7: for the first time and they'll go to Los Angeles
- 1:12:21Speaker 7: to take on UCLA. UCLA is probably happy about it
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: because they don't have to come to Austin, which they
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: would have had to do at Texas one of the regional.
- 1:12:27Speaker 7: Now UCLA gets loose the super regional, so they'll be
- 1:12:31Speaker 7: headed out there. And not all of the super Regional
- 1:12:35Speaker 7: matchups are set yet because there are several if necessary
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: games to be played. One is going on right now
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: between North Carolina and Oklahoma, and Oklahoma is the designated
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: home team for this game. They made this game necessary
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: last night because it made this game necessary last night
- 1:13:05Speaker 7: because they beat North Carolina, so.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: They had to play one more time.
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: North Carolina had beaten the Sooners on Saturday night, Oklahoma
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: State a live by eliminating Nebraska and then beating North
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: Carolina last night, so they had to play one more time.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: And right now they're in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: Oklahoma at bat again the designated home team, and North
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: Carolina leeds eight to two. It was a three to
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: two ball game and through two innings and then Carolina
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: scored four runs and the third and the tar Hills
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: had it another run in the fourth and North Carolina's
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: gone to the bullpen for they started a freshman today
- 1:13:42Speaker 7: and he gave them five innings, a career high for him.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: So anyway, it is eight to two. North Carolina's playing Oklahoma.
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: Now here's the quirk with the scheduling thing. The winner
- 1:13:52Speaker 7: of this game, and if it is North Carolina, if
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: they go on to the win, they will host the
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: Super Regional against Arizona because there was number five national seat.
- 1:14:00Speaker 7: Arizona's sitting back and waiting and to see what happens there.
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: Because the Wildcats won that won the regional and Eugene,
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: Oregon because Oregon went to and barbecue there Arizona defeated
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: cal Poly to win, to eliminate him and to win that. Okay,
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: so that's that's still to be decided, although they're now
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: in the bottom of the sixth. Meanwhile, there are other
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: games being uh that have to be decided today and
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: it's and and it's kind of bizarre really because it's
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: you have all of these, if necessary, games that have
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: to be decided, and ESPN has all of these platforms
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: of course where they're televising these games to an extent,
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: and what I mean by to an extent is they're
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: you know, there's not as many put it this way,
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: there's not as many games available for their over the
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: air streaming platforms or over the air linear platforms as
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: they are other streaming as we know, like what if
- 1:15:19Speaker 7: you're just watching ESPN Plus or SEC Network Plus or
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: if you're watching, say, you know, one of one of
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: the other streaming platforms. So anyway, the way it the
- 1:15:34Speaker 7: way that it stands right now is you've got several
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: games waiting to be decided, and not all of these
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: games are going to be televised because several of them
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: are starting at the exact same time. So, uh, there's
- 1:15:53Speaker 7: one game at five, which is Ole Miss and Maurice State,
- 1:15:57Speaker 7: and these are all obviously if necessary games, final game games.
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: Ole Miss is playing Murray State and that game is
- 1:16:06Speaker 7: an SEC Network plus and ESPN plus Telecasseie.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: It's all on SEC network, all right.
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: So there's that at five, and then at five o'clock
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: it's USC and Oregon State. That game is on ESPNU.
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: Also at five o'clock is Wake Forest and Tennessee. It's
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: on the ESPN two. Then you've got LSU and Little Rock,
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: which is going to be at eight o'clock, and Miami
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: and Southern Miss at the exact same time at eight o'clock.
- 1:16:36Speaker 7: They have all of these games that they're trying to
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: cram in on one time, and so you may have
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: to have a very nimble thumb working you're remote if
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: you're going to do that. But anyway, it's eight to
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: two is the score right now, North Carolina on top
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: of Oklahoma. And we'll take note of some more of
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: this a little bit later on, but up next a
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: review of that Texas softball win this afternoon that has
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: the long Horns in the National Championship Series will visit
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: with Andrew Haynes, who made the call of that right
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: here on thirteen hunder his own.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: One and two now on Clark the Longhorns fans standing
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: in the Longhorn Specific section behind the third base dugout
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: and in many places around the park.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: One two pitch.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Swaying in a miss and Texas, for the second year
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: in a row, will play for the national Championship. Two
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: runs against Carlin Pickens is all the Longhorns got. It's
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: all they needed. Katie Stewart with a solo shot in
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: the fourth and the throwing error with two out in
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: the sixth inning, and Teaguan Cavan came in and relief
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: in the fifth inning walk the first batter sheet face
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: did not allow anyone else to reach base safely. Set
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: down nine in a row to send the Longhorns to
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: the Championship Series starting Wednesday, where they'll face either oklahom
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: or Texas Tech.
- 1:18:02Speaker 7: Yeah, and exciting times for Texas Softball. The guy who
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: had that call there on the final ounce, a voice
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: of Longhorn Softball, Andrew Haynes joins is now from Oklahoma City.
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: Get a chance to cool? How hot is it up there?
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: By the way, was it like it was here yesterday?
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: Ninety six degrees?
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: Not quite that hot? Up there?
- 1:18:20Speaker 10: Is it not quite that hot?
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: I think it was in the eighties for most of
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: the game, maybe got into the nineties, but it wasn't
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: too bad.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Okay, all right? So I started asking you cooling off.
- 1:18:29Speaker 7: That's a metacorphorical phrase as well as a physical thing
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: there for everybody to get a chance to chill out
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: a little bit. And the beauty of it isn't it
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: also Andrew getting this thing done without an if necessary
- 1:18:41Speaker 7: game to where they can relax. We had Mike White
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: on last hour and he said that, he said, several
- 1:18:46Speaker 7: little girls, we're talking about manicures and pedicures, and I
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: asked him if he was going to get one, and
- 1:18:51Speaker 7: maybe you have a coal malted beverage in his hand
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: while it was going on.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: He said, maybe that part of it, but not the other.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: You know, that sort of thing. But it is a
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: Bummus says.
- 1:19:00Speaker 7: It is a well earned a luxury to be able
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: for them to catch their breath and then just kind
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: of examine what happens tonight.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: Absolutely, especially with the team that they were playing with Tennessee.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: You know, no doubt that Tennessee would have thrown Pickens
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: for a game two if they got there, maybe one
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: of their other pitchers who have been very good this year.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: So getting it done the first game, getting to take
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: the rest of the day off, be able to maybe
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: watch a little bit of Oklahoma Texas Texas if you're
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: going to face and get mentally ready for that, it's
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: big for him.
- 1:19:31Speaker 7: Curious to get your thoughts on today's game and the
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: way the thing unfolded, because both Pickens and mac morgan
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: were looking very, very solid. You made the comment at
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: the start of the game we were talking about Mac
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: and and you know Hower was the rough outing against
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: Texas A and M of the conference tournament. One thing
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: that Mike White had said was he said, at some
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: point when he joined us last week, we're gonna need her.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: We're gonna have to need her. He said.
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: Tegan has done a great job, and we've leaned on
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: her more than then we have and maybe that's part
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: of the reason why she had some wobbles down the stretch,
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: he said, But we're gonna need mac morgan at some point.
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: And the ESPN broadcasters, you know, we're all Beth Mowens
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: and Michelle Smith. They were all just kind of marveling
- 1:20:16Speaker 7: at the strikeouts she was able to get since Mac
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: is normally a grand ball pitcher.
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, those strikeouts were surprising.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: You know, she she often strikes out about her or
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: too in the first inning, but then whether it be
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: the team starting to get a better look at her,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: she just doesn't strike out too many throughout the rest
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: of the game.
- 1:20:36Speaker 10: But it was huge.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: She pitched very well at the end of the Game
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: three of the Super Regional a little over a week
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: ago as well, So it wasn't you know, coming out
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: for the first time since that disastrous performance in the
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: SEC tournament. She had had a little bit of a
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: an experience to get the team to Oka see and
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: you know, she has the senior experience, and I think
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: it was it was a risky call. You know, you
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: never know what's gonna happen, but she's not your ace.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: But she absolutely got the job done and absolutely should
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: be in the conversation for some good innings in the
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: championship series.
- 1:21:13Speaker 7: Well, this here's the other thing I think that that's
- 1:21:16Speaker 7: interesting about this and I and I asked coach right
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: about it as well, and uh, he agreed in terms
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: of how it ultimately played out. Was the fact that
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: and asked him what the plan was. Was the plan
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: all along to pitch Mac until you got a lead?
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: Was it a middle innings strategy for sure?
- 1:21:37Speaker 10: Did you?
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: He said he thought the plan would be to try
- 1:21:41Speaker 7: to see if he could get five innings out of her.
- 1:21:43Speaker 7: But once they got the lead on the on the
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: Stewart homer, it was like, okay, time to turn to Kavan,
- 1:21:47Speaker 7: which in itself, I guess Andrew is a little bit
- 1:21:51Speaker 7: of a risk since she was going to have to
- 1:21:53Speaker 7: be the if necessary pitcher anyway, But it's not like
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: she hasn't pitched him back to back games before. It
- 1:21:58Speaker 7: just looked for the to try to slam the door
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: at that point, even before you got the insurance run
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: there in the bottom of the sixth.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, you know, if something goes wrong and she
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: starts to give us some runs, you definitely need her
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: to be at full strength for game two. He had
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: mentioned in the pregame interview that he was hoping to
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: be able to use Mac for a good chunk innings
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and then go to the freshman cam Salmon and then
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: go to Cavan to finish it. Out if need be,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: And I guess maybe just with the one nothing lead,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: he just decided to skip over Salmon just say hey,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: my experience, Cavan has been great at the World Series.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Let's see if she can get us to the Championship series.
- 1:22:37Speaker 7: Talking Texas Softball here with their play by play voice
- 1:22:40Speaker 7: and Er Hayes here on thirteen hundred the zone. How
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: big do you think the insurance run was in terms
- 1:22:47Speaker 7: of the mental thing? I mean, it's a little bit
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: different when you're protecting a two run lead instead of
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: just a single run, isn't it in terms of not
- 1:22:54Speaker 7: only for Tiguan, but also for the team because defense,
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: or in the cases of some of the teams that faltered,
- 1:23:00Speaker 7: the lack of it, has kind of reared its ugly
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: ahead in this College World Series.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: Absolutely, you know, the Longhorns defense has been mostly good.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: There was one error they committed in the second inning
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: game inst Oklahoma that led to an unearned run, but
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: overall they've played very good defense. And you know, honestly,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: the defense has had its moments during the season where
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: they just weren't on point and so only a one
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: run lead, you know, one mistake by a player get
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: a runner and scoring position, and Tennessee had a couple
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: of hot bats coming up, some players who have some
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: home run pop and you never know. So getting that
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: second run was absolutely huge to probably settle everyone's mind,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: certainly mine of the press box as well.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:45Speaker 7: Well all right, So, as much time as you've spent
- 1:23:47Speaker 7: around this team, in traveling with them and broadcast in
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: the games, do you since a different air or a
- 1:23:55Speaker 7: more confident, self assured, veteran air about this group simply
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: because they played in this event, they played in the
- 1:24:04Speaker 7: championship round a year ago, and now they were able
- 1:24:08Speaker 7: to kind of slay the dragon, so to speak, at
- 1:24:11Speaker 7: least once, to get a win over Oklahoma in Oklahoma City,
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: which they hadn't been able to do all of those
- 1:24:17Speaker 7: things together. Does it present a different air of confidence,
- 1:24:22Speaker 7: even with work still to be done here before they
- 1:24:25Speaker 7: get into the championship round?
- 1:24:28Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:24:28Speaker 10: I think so.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: I actually ran into me A Scott in the elevator
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: at the hotel after that Oklahoma game and asked her,
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: you know, how's that feel? And she was like extremely happy.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: She's like I'm done losing to them, basically is what
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: she said. And so I think this team is in
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: the past. You know, they might have been intimidated still
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: even though they're very good by that Oklahoma in the
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: front of the jersey, by the you know, eleven thousand
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Oklahoma fans in the stands, in the you know, twelve
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: thousand plus attendance. And I think this team has just
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: kind of said, you know what, you know, it is
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: what it is, We've experienced it, and we're just gonna
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: ignore it and then play our game.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Interested to get your thoughts on this.
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: This is something else I ask to Mike White and
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: I and I preface this with the words in a
- 1:25:12Speaker 7: perfect world. Now we know we don't live in a
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: perfect world, but in a perfect world. And I'm just
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: curious to see if you had any thought about this.
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: You know, there's been a lot of conversation, comments, and
- 1:25:25Speaker 7: in some cases complaining from some of the other coaches
- 1:25:28Speaker 7: and players about that home field advantage that Oklahoma enjoys
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: on the deal, and when I ask Coach White about it,
- 1:25:35Speaker 7: his team seem to be nonpluss about it. Said how
- 1:25:38Speaker 7: much does that do to just having played up there
- 1:25:40Speaker 7: so much? And he said that has something to do
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: with it, But at some point it just gets down
- 1:25:43Speaker 7: to excuse making if you don't.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: If you don't, so you do have to block it
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: out and go forward.
- 1:25:47Speaker 7: But in the perfect world, could the NCAA, you know,
- 1:25:52Speaker 7: once it gets beyond this contract they've got with the
- 1:25:55Speaker 7: city because of Devon Park and everything they've done, be
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: some sort of let's say, a neutral site twelve to
- 1:26:03Speaker 7: fifteen thousand seat Ballpark stadium. And I even brought up
- 1:26:08Speaker 7: the Dallas Forward Metroplex. And the reason why I bring
- 1:26:10Speaker 7: that up is because Frisco touts itself as a championship
- 1:26:14Speaker 7: city PGA headquarters there. They've got, you know, all this
- 1:26:16Speaker 7: other stuff that's up there, and there's no major collegiate
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: softball anywhere close other than North Texas. But they're not
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: a national power that could give a perceived home field advantage.
- 1:26:32Speaker 7: I just brought that up, But it could be anywhere
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: Los Angeles, it could be you know, some other plagues.
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: Would that Would that be a better scenario in your mind,
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: a better scene for them to do than to do
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: this deal? Or is it because it's so well attended
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: in the commitment there that it's going to look good
- 1:26:47Speaker 7: even if Oklahoma does have that home field advantage, which
- 1:26:50Speaker 7: is more than just perceived.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough to say.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I think the fact that Oklahoma packs the stands, it's
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: great optics for sure. I you know, once the contract ends,
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: maybe it's something that you look at, you know, take
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: a look at something in the LA area.
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: Take a look at the.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Maybe the Columbus Georgia where they held the ninety six
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Olympic Softball tournament, and see how much you can spruce
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: that place up and pack fans in. You know, might
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: might end up having to find a place that has
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: lower capacity, but I think you can probably find a
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: good place that'll be it's somewhat central located and easy
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: to get to, and you still have some big attendances.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: And you know, honestly, they're starting to use some some
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: baseball diamons as well. You know, in the twenty twenty
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: one Tokyo Olympics, the softball was played on baseball diamonds.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: That's just how they do it in Japan.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: And the Huntsville, Alabama the trash Panda Stadium, I think
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: it was that you've used for like an early steed
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: in softball tournament this year, the SEC actually just announced
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: that they've the league's athletic dress have allowed the conference
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: to explore using a neutral site for their conference tournament
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: for softball, and rumors are it's the trash banded stadium
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: and they're going to try to see how they can
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: make that work for SEC tournament.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: So that might be an option down the road.
- 1:28:14Speaker 7: Hey listen, I know in one of your your avocations
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: you sit up in the press box of Dell Diamond
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: your official score for Round Rock Express. I know kat
- 1:28:24Speaker 7: Osterman has a team getting ready to play and there
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: they're going to have a pro league game in their
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: Dell Diamond. That's another example of it. Right, they could
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: be a situation like that.
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: Right, absolutely, absolutely.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: You know, bigger stadiums, and I think in some of
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: those stadiums you don't have a lot of seats in
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: the outfield. So with all the room you have in
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: the baseball outfield, you can probably bring in more bleachers
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: and might be able to even surpass what the stadium
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: of the Devon Park here and no case he can build.
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: Talking with Andrew Haynes here a voice of long worn softball, Okay,
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: let me get your thoughts on this. Who It's going
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: to be easy, let me put it this way. Easy,
- 1:29:00Speaker 7: it's going to be easier for long worn fans to
- 1:29:02Speaker 7: root for Texas Tech than it is for Oklahoma. Even
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: though listened as many years as I've done games football,
- 1:29:08Speaker 7: men's basketball, women's basketball, and baseball between Texas and Texas Tech,
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: I know there's no love loss there at all, But
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: just you know the mere fact, and they've had success
- 1:29:18Speaker 7: against Nigerie Kennedy. They're in Oklahoma City in the pass
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: is in your view, is it a better scenario for
- 1:29:25Speaker 7: Texas if they're facing Texas Tech than Oklahoma?
- 1:29:29Speaker 18: I think so.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: I think so.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: They also beat Nigerie Kennedy earlier this year in Austin
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: nine inning game. Team Cavan struck at eighteen probably the
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: best performance I've seen from her in her career so far.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: And Texas tex offense just isn't as good as Oklahoma's.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: You know, they have Kennedy, and the last couple of years,
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: Kennedy took Stanford to what the World Series and got
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: very little run support. I really feel like if Kevan's
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: pitshing like she has been, if Morgan pitches like she
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: has been, then the long Horns, you know, they can
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: scratch out a runner two against Kennedy and they can
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: get the job done against Texas Tech against Oklahoma. You
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: never know that's you know, their their pitcher Sam Landry,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: who used to pitch for Texas Tech head coach Jerry
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Glasgow out Louisiana.
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: She's been very good this year.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Their offense is much better than Texas Tech, even though
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: it's not what it used to be at Oklahoma the
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: last couple of years.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: I think that they're just a more dangerous team. Oklahoma
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: is okay.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: Hey, I appreciate the time and listen. When you get
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: extended stays in Oklahoma City, have you have you.
- 1:30:32Speaker 7: Now fledged out all the important restaurants and in watering
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: holes up there?
- 1:30:37Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 1:30:37Speaker 22: You know.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: I have my favorites. I have a couple that I
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: like to hit. I have a couple of old school
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: ones that from from my past.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: I used to like that.
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: They have the location here too, So I've certainly been
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: able to get a lot of my.
- 1:30:48Speaker 10: Favorites up here.
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: Nick Scrill, a part of that answer, I can't say
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: I've ever been there.
- 1:30:55Speaker 23: Wow.
- 1:30:55Speaker 7: Oh yeah yourself. Well, let me just ask you this, Andrew,
- 1:30:59Speaker 7: do you enjoy good Hamburger?
- 1:31:02Speaker 5: Absolutely?
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: All right, it's going to be a top ten for you.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: Trust me.
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: Trust both of us on this in I see Nick Grill,
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: and you want to go to the one, okay, see yeah, yeah,
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: it's it's it's a shock, it is.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: It's six tools and maybe a couple of boots.
- 1:31:19Speaker 7: Nick Grill, That's that's where you want to go to
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: have the hamburger there and then and then class and
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: Grill is my favorite breakfast bout there. But anyway, I'm yeah,
- 1:31:27Speaker 7: I had I hadn't spent near as much time in
- 1:31:29Speaker 7: recent years as you have up there. So listen, enjoy it,
- 1:31:32Speaker 7: and uh we'll look forward to the calls throughout the
- 1:31:34Speaker 7: course here on the iHeartRadio app.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: Thanks for thanks for the time today, Andrew, I appreciate
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: it great.
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: All right you met. That's Andrew Haynes, voice of Longhorned Softball.
- 1:31:43Speaker 7: Hopefully he'll get an opportunity to uh to visit Nick Grill.
- 1:31:49Speaker 10: Yeah, I hope he listens to us. Want Andrew try
- 1:31:51Speaker 10: it out.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Let us know.
- 1:31:54Speaker 9: I mean, he's gonna be up there for you know,
- 1:31:56Speaker 9: at least you know, three four more days. So yeah,
- 1:31:59Speaker 9: you gotta have a lee one hamburger to treat yourself.
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: It was National Hamburger Day. What a couple of days
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: ago it was.
- 1:32:05Speaker 10: It was and.
- 1:32:08Speaker 7: You know, women and I took advantage that we said
- 1:32:10Speaker 7: we were gonna have to have to do that. Updating
- 1:32:13Speaker 7: the baseball reagion. While Oklahoma has gotten a run back,
- 1:32:16Speaker 7: Jason Walk with a home run in the bottom of
- 1:32:19Speaker 7: the seventh inning. Again, Oklahoma is the designated home team
- 1:32:22Speaker 7: for this if necessary, winner take all game against North Carolina.
- 1:32:27Speaker 7: Jason Walk with a solo homer one out, but the
- 1:32:30Speaker 7: tar Hill still lead the Sooners eight three as Oklahoma
- 1:32:33Speaker 7: bats in the bottom half of the seventh inning. Up next,
- 1:32:37Speaker 7: we're gonna hear from head coach Mike White from the
- 1:32:40Speaker 7: news conference Mike White and players from the Texas news
- 1:32:43Speaker 7: conference as the log Worns advanced to that national Championship series.
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: And we'll keep you updated on this regional matchup as
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: well when we continue on thirteen under the Zone.
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: We're back.
- 1:32:52Speaker 11: It's the Craigway Show with Hall of Fame broadcaster and
- 1:32:56Speaker 11: voice of the Texas Longhearts Craig Way.
- 1:33:05Speaker 7: All right, Thanksgod, Andrew Haynes joining us. Let's let's hear
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: from Mike White and Texas players. And this was after
- 1:33:11Speaker 7: the long Warns to Nothing went over Tennessee, propelling Texas
- 1:33:15Speaker 7: into the National Championship Series of the Women's College World Series, which.
- 1:33:18Speaker 24: Wined by Texas head coach Mike White and players Teagan Cavan,
- 1:33:21Speaker 24: Katie Stewart and Macmorgan. A reminder to please silence your
- 1:33:25Speaker 24: cell phones, keep your name in media affiliation when you
- 1:33:27Speaker 24: get the mic to ask a question. No recording of
- 1:33:30Speaker 24: the press conference with your cell phone is allowed. If
- 1:33:32Speaker 24: you're on the zoom and you want to ask a question,
- 1:33:34Speaker 24: you used to raise hand function. We'll start with an
- 1:33:36Speaker 24: opening statement from coach White, go to questions just for players,
- 1:33:39Speaker 24: dismiss the players.
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: And then go to back to questions just for coach Whites.
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: If you have no nick statement, yeah, well, congratulations to
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: Tennessee on a great season. Obviously it's not finishing the
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: way they wanted to finish for sure, But Colin Pickens
- 1:33:52Speaker 4: was a real warrior out there and threw a hot
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: out up for her team.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: Unfortunately we were on the right side of it.
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: We had just enough win to help that and run
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: go over, so that was fortunate there for somebody was
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: looking down on us.
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: I think maybe Teagans grandma, so she puffed one out there.
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: But you know, I also like to thank my coaching stuff,
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: doing a trima tremendous job, you know, scouting those teams
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: we've played so far and looking forward to the next matchup.
- 1:34:17Speaker 22: Okay, questions for players, Okay, we'll start front row left
- 1:34:23Speaker 22: Thomas Jon's Austin American statesman Mac. You know you had
- 1:34:27Speaker 22: some ups and downs late in the season, but these
- 1:34:29Speaker 22: last two games against Clemson and today, what's been working
- 1:34:33Speaker 22: for you mentally?
- 1:34:34Speaker 10: What did you change?
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: What's been the difference?
- 1:34:37Speaker 10: You know, it's like I have nothing to lose.
- 1:34:38Speaker 23: Is my last year, it's my last time out here,
- 1:34:40Speaker 23: and I'm gonna I'm gonna enjoy it and just being
- 1:34:43Speaker 23: out there and doing my job and competing.
- 1:34:46Speaker 10: Okay, front right, Brady Brady ran in South America.
- 1:34:49Speaker 25: Just Katie having faced pickings earlier in the season, was
- 1:34:52Speaker 25: there anything particular guys are trying to do really well
- 1:34:55Speaker 25: and just I kind of went into the home runs
- 1:34:57Speaker 25: thing rather than just the wind.
- 1:34:59Speaker 20: Yeah, hopefully game plan just centered around being on time
- 1:35:02Speaker 20: and so just simply make it our swing simple enough.
- 1:35:05Speaker 20: Just get on time because she's gonna throw hard, and
- 1:35:07Speaker 20: that was my whole approach. She had played all three
- 1:35:09Speaker 20: of thats.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: We'll go second, or right to Jake, Katie, how does
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: it feel to be back in this position after getting
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: so close last year?
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: Now with the chance to win that national championship?
- 1:35:26Speaker 10: It it feels really good.
- 1:35:27Speaker 20: This team, I just everyone, I love them so much,
- 1:35:30Speaker 20: and I just I love this for us, and we're
- 1:35:32Speaker 20: gonna keep playing for each other and start where we
- 1:35:34Speaker 20: left off.
- 1:35:35Speaker 25: Okay, right, Brady again, Brady Brendan softo America, just her,
- 1:35:40Speaker 25: any of you, just every Saturday went. There's just a
- 1:35:42Speaker 25: lot of emotions and emotional highs and just how was
- 1:35:45Speaker 25: it to kind of stay focused on this game and
- 1:35:47Speaker 25: how much being in last year's World Series help with that?
- 1:35:53Speaker 26: Yeah, I think we have a lot of experience. Our
- 1:35:54Speaker 26: whole team has a lot of experience, and so using that,
- 1:35:57Speaker 26: leaning on each other and bringing those I haven't been
- 1:35:59Speaker 26: here with us, but really just leaning on each other.
- 1:36:02Speaker 26: We can't go anywhere without every single one of us,
- 1:36:04Speaker 26: and so leaning in using what we learned last year,
- 1:36:07Speaker 26: because obviously we know what it feels like to not
- 1:36:09Speaker 26: end up on top, and so obviously kind of flushing
- 1:36:12Speaker 26: that but also using it.
- 1:36:13Speaker 20: Yeah, what Tiegan said, just playing for something more than
- 1:36:15Speaker 20: ourselves and so not worrying about things that don't matter
- 1:36:18Speaker 20: other than playing for each other and playing for our goals.
- 1:36:21Speaker 10: Yeah, I agree with them.
- 1:36:22Speaker 23: It's just like we're focusing on ourselves and on each
- 1:36:24Speaker 23: other and like picking each other up when we need
- 1:36:26Speaker 23: it and then just going out there and competing as
- 1:36:27Speaker 23: a team.
- 1:36:28Speaker 22: Okay, left Thomas Jones, Austin, American States. When Teagan and Mac,
- 1:36:33Speaker 22: when did you guys know Mike's plan for pitching today? Teagan,
- 1:36:37Speaker 22: how did you approach it mentally? You know, coming in relief?
- 1:36:40Speaker 22: And also for all three of you, you know, Oklahoma,
- 1:36:43Speaker 22: you know Tech. What's your thoughts on watching that game tonight.
- 1:36:48Speaker 10: I think it's going to be a good game between them.
- 1:36:50Speaker 23: I mean, they're both really good teams and it's going
- 1:36:52Speaker 23: to be an upight for them. But I think it's
- 1:36:54Speaker 23: going to be an exciting year for this World Series.
- 1:36:57Speaker 26: Yeah, being coach, I told us this morning Mac was starting,
- 1:36:59Speaker 26: and then when he got to the field, it was
- 1:37:01Speaker 26: maxx gonna uh give give her all and then might
- 1:37:04Speaker 26: be handed off to me if we needed it. And
- 1:37:05Speaker 26: so just staying locked in. I think every single one
- 1:37:08Speaker 26: of our pictures needed to stay locked in because I
- 1:37:10Speaker 26: didn't know who was gonna necessarily end up with and
- 1:37:12Speaker 26: so Mac pitched her heart out two for us, and
- 1:37:15Speaker 26: she came up big, and so I'm really proud of her.
- 1:37:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:37:19Speaker 20: Just watching this game later, not being too worried about
- 1:37:22Speaker 20: who we want to win, and just being prepared for
- 1:37:24Speaker 20: whoever does win, and knowing their pitchers and sticking with
- 1:37:27Speaker 20: our game plans.
- 1:37:28Speaker 10: Okay, we'll go second roll left?
- 1:37:30Speaker 23: Uh.
- 1:37:31Speaker 13: Tim Willard, Associated press coach, I wanted to ask you
- 1:37:34Speaker 13: about just players, right?
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: Oh, just players right now?
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: I kind of wait.
- 1:37:42Speaker 10: Any more questions or players? Okay, good Jake again, second
- 1:37:45Speaker 10: r right.
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're either gonna play the four time defending national
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: champion or you know, potentially one of the most dominant
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: pitchers we've seen. What kind of challenge are you guys
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: going to have ahead looking to the championship series.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: I think them.
- 1:38:07Speaker 26: I mean, we've played both of them already and so
- 1:38:09Speaker 26: obviously using what we learned from those games, but I
- 1:38:12Speaker 26: think it's more focused on us and what we can
- 1:38:15Speaker 26: do and not necessarily on them and focusing on our strengths.
- 1:38:18Speaker 10: Yeah. I agree.
- 1:38:18Speaker 23: I think our biggest challenge is focusing on ourselves in
- 1:38:21Speaker 23: this big three D three game series, and just you know,
- 1:38:25Speaker 23: relying on each other and what have you done all year?
- 1:38:27Speaker 20: What they both said, we're a different team than we
- 1:38:29Speaker 20: were back in February when we last played Tech, and
- 1:38:32Speaker 20: so just sticking to what we're doing now and staying
- 1:38:35Speaker 20: how we are, just sticking with our game plans, I
- 1:38:37Speaker 20: think we'll be just fine.
- 1:38:39Speaker 10: Any more questions for players? Okay, Row left.
- 1:38:45Speaker 27: Core Hall with an Oxymen sentinel for both you know,
- 1:38:47Speaker 27: mac intigue and what was kind of going into your
- 1:38:50Speaker 27: mind this game facing the Tennessee offense that has really
- 1:38:53Speaker 27: improved out the tournament and performed pretty well here, Because
- 1:38:55Speaker 27: what was kind of top of your mind to try to,
- 1:38:58Speaker 27: you know, stop that.
- 1:39:00Speaker 23: My mom was just go out there and compete and
- 1:39:01Speaker 23: try to do my job the best I can that day,
- 1:39:03Speaker 23: and I gave my everything and we both did pretty
- 1:39:07Speaker 23: well to you and went out there and shut the door.
- 1:39:08Speaker 23: And she really proud of her for how she competed
- 1:39:10Speaker 23: this season.
- 1:39:12Speaker 26: Yeah, I was gonna say, I'm just competing obviously. When
- 1:39:15Speaker 26: I go up there with one run lead, I was
- 1:39:17Speaker 26: trying to just tell myself I don't have to be perfect,
- 1:39:19Speaker 26: because I think in that moment that's kind of what
- 1:39:21Speaker 26: you feel like you need to be, but just trusting
- 1:39:23Speaker 26: my defense. They came up big for me and so
- 1:39:25Speaker 26: it doesn't have to all be on my shoulders.
- 1:39:27Speaker 10: Okay, to wrap things up, players, Thank you guys, it's nissing. Yes,
- 1:39:35Speaker 10: thank you.
- 1:39:39Speaker 13: Questions for coach like, okay, we'll go back second round,
- 1:39:42Speaker 13: laugh again. Yeah at Tim Willard associated press coach. I
- 1:39:45Speaker 13: want to ask you what transpired with that hitting coach
- 1:39:50Speaker 13: from Tennessee and the fourth inning he came out looked
- 1:39:52Speaker 13: pretty heated. It looked like he was directing his comments
- 1:39:55Speaker 13: towards your dougout.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: Did you talk about what happened there?
- 1:40:00Speaker 23: Come in on that.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: I don't really know what happened transpired.
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: I think he was upset about the call by the
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: umpired home plate and it just kind of transpired about that.
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: But you know, the rule says that anytime an assistant
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: coach hits the field and questions something, that's an automatic ejection.
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: So I think that's what he was upset about. So
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: then he just decided maybe to take some stuff out
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: on us.
- 1:40:19Speaker 10: Okay, front right, Brady Vernon South of America.
- 1:40:23Speaker 25: Just Macca has had her ups and downs this year,
- 1:40:26Speaker 25: but what really instilled your confidence in her?
- 1:40:28Speaker 10: To kind of go out today and do what she
- 1:40:30Speaker 10: really did.
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: I think, as she mentioned, she's a senior and she
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: wants it, and she wants that redemption. And she's like
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: one of those kids that just let stuff flow off
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: of her. She's not going to dwell on what happened
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: in the past. And we talked about that everyone needs
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: to be where their feet are and be ready to
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: contribute to the team in the program. And it's always
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: team before me, and she's an epitome of that. Okay,
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: front rear left, Thomas runs ausesome American Saints. But Mike,
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: could this term have gone any better for you? Up
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: to this point, you've played the minimum number of games,
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: you have tea and a little rest. I mean, you
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: kind of pitching yourself about how good things are going
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: right now. I'll let you know in two days, three days,
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: so you know at the end of the week. I mean,
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: it's it's great. We were in the drug you know,
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: part of we were on one half of the bracket
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: with our lives in tech and obviously in the final
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: series best of three, that's what matters the most, and
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: and things have gone pretty well, but we also had
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: to play some really tough teams and come through some
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: squeakers and produce when we had to. Obviously, the today,
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: we knew it was going to be a pitcher's jewel.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: You know, Pickens is a warrior and she's thrown a
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: lot out there and uh, you know, she continued to
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: battle us till the end there and we knew we
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: had to. Fortunately, we had a great performance by Mac
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: morgan of course, Teak and Kaban and so things that.
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Work out the way we planned.
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: And that's why I said, hats off to my coaching
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: stuff for you know, kind of one is we talked
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: about who we were going to start, and that was
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: the that was the plan, and it kind of worked out.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: So you know, but the.
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: Playoffs can make you look good or make you look bad.
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: So but the players and it's looked good, Okay.
- 1:41:58Speaker 25: All right, Brady Brady brendon South of America. Just Leanne
- 1:42:02Speaker 25: had that really good play in the seventh as well,
- 1:42:04Speaker 25: and you guys had made that change to bring her
- 1:42:06Speaker 25: back to short in the super regionals and just how
- 1:42:08Speaker 25: big is she really helped the defense kind of stabilize
- 1:42:10Speaker 25: in the postseason.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think she's maturing as she's going going along.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know who at bat was a
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: little scary in the in the in the top of
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: the bottom of the six there and you go. But
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: we've talked about that, you got to let it release
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: and worry about the defense a part of the side
- 1:42:25Speaker 4: of things, and she showed that today. That was just
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: an amazing play at a big time for us, you know,
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: and the same with me on the left side as well.
- 1:42:32Speaker 4: So you know, I know people have questioned out defense sometimes,
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: but they kind of shone out today for sure.
- 1:42:39Speaker 22: Gay her left Thomas Jones, Austo Mega states, did you
- 1:42:43Speaker 22: think Stewart's shot and the fourth or whatever it was
- 1:42:46Speaker 22: was going to go out? And then also tonight, how
- 1:42:49Speaker 22: do you watch the game, Like do you get together
- 1:42:51Speaker 22: with your assistance, like what's your plans for tonight?
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, obviously that ball was high in the
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: air and you just never know, you see, the wind
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: can carry it sometimes and you just saw drifting and
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: drifting and didn't really know until it went over the fence.
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: And fortunately it went overboy, you know, a few feet,
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: So we're very blessed there. Of course, tonight's game, I
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: hope it goes thirty two innings, so you know, then
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: battle it out, you know, maybe two games. I don't know,
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: but it's tough to say who's you know, who we
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: want to play. I mean, it's it's so we're just
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: fortunate to be where we're at. We're going to wry
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: about what happens when it happens. And obviously, you know,
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: Oklahoma is a four time defending champion, great team, well coached.
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: You know, they've got plenty of pitching left for sure,
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: and of course Najia Canada has proven she's the best
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: pitcher in the country right now with her zero point
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: eight one ERA. I mean, tough to score off. And
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: of course Tech is playing hot. They believe in themselves,
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: but so do we. So we're hopefully we're looking for
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: a really good matchup Campus stay front row left.
- 1:43:47Speaker 27: At Cora Halt and Knox New Sentinel. Tennessee had scored
- 1:43:50Speaker 27: in the first INNA the last five games going into today.
- 1:43:52Speaker 27: Was what was kind of the key for you guys
- 1:43:55Speaker 27: and shutting that down early with Mac.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, obviously they have been swinging the bats
- 1:43:59Speaker 4: pretty well, and you know, and they beat us two
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: out of three in Austin too, So we know when
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: when Pickens is on the mound, it's going to be
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: a low scoring game for sure. And so it really
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: was just throwing to our locations and using our defense,
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: and we're able to do that. But you know, you're
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: just hoping that you don't get too far behind when
- 1:44:16Speaker 4: you when that happens. But mac Morgan's up to the
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: task and just so proud of the way she battled
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: for us today against a really good hitting team.
- 1:44:24Speaker 28: Any more questions, Okay, go front row right, Hey, coach
- 1:44:28Speaker 28: Lne Rolla with the Athletic do you think this is
- 1:44:30Speaker 28: some of Tigan's best softball of her career or have
- 1:44:33Speaker 28: you seen business as usual for her here in this
- 1:44:35Speaker 28: World series?
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: You know, it's tough to say.
- 1:44:37Speaker 4: I mean, she she was sout the season off really
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: hot and then went through a little bit of a patch.
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: I mean, we would talk about being a bit of
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: a roller coaster, but we kind of discussed it, and
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: she's real cerebral and wants to think about, you know,
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: the reasons for why things are not going well, and
- 1:44:50Speaker 4: we hit on a couple of things, and I think
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: she's really tightened things up a little bit, you know,
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: you know, allowing and knowing her break on her ball
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: for one's it and then using all he pitches and
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: Pettybis Taylor has been doing a great job for us
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: with the Pitchcolin as well. So I think these number
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: of things that go into well, not just one thing,
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: but it is Tea can combine as really, you know,
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: she could be dwelling on what could have been or
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: what wasn't and it is what it is. Right now,
- 1:45:14Speaker 4: we're in the finals of the College World Series.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: And there it is.
- 1:45:20Speaker 7: There's the press conference from Oklahoma City. Mike White who
- 1:45:24Speaker 7: joined us last hour live and again. You can hear
- 1:45:27Speaker 7: that conversation on our podcast page at thirteen under the
- 1:45:30Speaker 7: Zone dot com.
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: If you didn't hear it live at
- 1:45:33Speaker 7: The time, well we got to wrap up today's edition
- 1:45:35Speaker 7: of the program on thirteen under the Zone
