- 0:01Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, Welcome, walk Welcome, the
- 0:04Speaker 1: sun is shining. It's Thursday. Must be time for car talk.
- 0:07Speaker 1: And Brad Dungeas is in along with a friend.
- 0:11Speaker 2: How you're doing.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Hey, good morning Tom, Good morning.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Brad, Good morning friends out there. Thank you for joining
- 0:17Speaker 4: us this morning. We're so glad you're with us. And
- 0:19Speaker 4: welcome Jason, thank you for coming.
- 0:22Speaker 3: How was your trip to Chicago New Corolla?
- 0:26Speaker 2: This okay?
- 0:26Speaker 3: So we took the Corolla cross on cross country went
- 0:31Speaker 3: up to Chicago. Great ride, I mean, just fantastic. I
- 0:37Speaker 3: love this car. The gas mile which was astounding.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's a high. We were like working the whole time.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I think, well, okay, I don't know if it was work.
- 0:49Speaker 2: He went on your computer, I was working.
- 0:52Speaker 3: So we we have the demo on the hotspot option,
- 0:57Speaker 3: which allows the car to act as kind of a
- 1:02Speaker 3: great big hotspot. The Wi Fi is pumped in by
- 1:06Speaker 3: AT and T and I was getting better speed than
- 1:11Speaker 3: I sometimes get at the office. As we were zooming
- 1:15Speaker 3: up Highway forty four. Just let me. My wife drove
- 1:21Speaker 3: the first two thirds of the way and I got
- 1:23Speaker 3: a full day's work in while I was sitting in
- 1:25Speaker 3: the passenger seat. It's amazing the technology in this car.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And then the gas mileage forty forty two miles to
- 1:35Speaker 3: the gallon and that was with Mary's heavy foot on
- 1:38Speaker 3: the gas.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Just amazing.
- 1:43Speaker 3: We did have an incident in well, not an incident,
- 1:46Speaker 3: but I parked next to a guy while we were
- 1:48Speaker 3: in Chicago and he needed a jump. And I'll be honest,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I had never looked under the hood of my brand
- 1:58Speaker 3: new car. So I lift the hood and it looked
- 2:04Speaker 3: the the box that is the engine is somewhat recognizable
- 2:11Speaker 3: because it has something that kind of sort of resembles
- 2:15Speaker 3: spark plugs. We couldn't find the battery, and after a
- 2:21Speaker 3: couple of calls to Dungeons Toyota, we were able to
- 2:25Speaker 3: locate the jumping mechanism, which is hidden in the fuse box.
- 2:32Speaker 3: The battery is under Just for future reference, Tom, the
- 2:36Speaker 3: battery is under the passenger seat. Interesting jump the pretty
- 2:42Speaker 3: much pretty much so if anybody is looking for a great,
- 2:47Speaker 3: uh great little crossover, I can't recommends roll across.
- 2:53Speaker 2: The crows are great vehicles.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Like you said, they get such great few economy and
- 2:59Speaker 4: with the roll across size you get a little bit
- 3:02Speaker 4: more space and the ability to pack a lot of
- 3:05Speaker 4: luggage with.
- 3:05Speaker 3: You, and we took a little luggage and then came
- 3:08Speaker 3: home with a lot of what's in my uncle's basement.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Okay, there we go, there we go. That's that's great.
- 3:17Speaker 4: And it is that time of year. Everybody's planning their
- 3:20Speaker 4: summer vacations. It's a good time to be out shopping
- 3:23Speaker 4: for a new vehicle. We've had, you know, more automotive
- 3:27Speaker 4: news this week with lots of uh, you know, interest
- 3:30Speaker 4: in the tariffs and what's going to happen. But Toyota
- 3:34Speaker 4: has announced again that they're going to keep absorbing the
- 3:36Speaker 4: tariffs and you know a little bit more about what
- 3:39Speaker 4: that IMPACT's been. But you know, truthfully, Toyota has one
- 3:42Speaker 4: of the best balance sheets in the industry and in
- 3:45Speaker 4: all business, and they plan to keep producing all their
- 3:48Speaker 4: vehicles and shipping them just like they had planned, and
- 3:51Speaker 4: will kind of adjust as this clears clears up, hopefully
- 3:54Speaker 4: over time. We are seeing a lot of used car
- 3:57Speaker 4: prices kind of rising. Use the whole allow car prices
- 4:01Speaker 4: are starting to creep up and supply really diminishing as
- 4:05Speaker 4: people as dealers really prepare for potentially fewer new vehicles
- 4:10Speaker 4: being around, and so I think we've got kind of
- 4:13Speaker 4: a supply and demand issue going on that may affect
- 4:18Speaker 4: things like your selection and choice. You know that we've
- 4:21Speaker 4: had a load day supply of toyotas now seemingly for
- 4:26Speaker 4: five or six years, but the truth is that you
- 4:29Speaker 4: know that it's throughout the industry now, and so just
- 4:33Speaker 4: what you want to do if you're looking for a
- 4:35Speaker 4: specific vehicle is first of all, determine what that is
- 4:38Speaker 4: and be selective in how you approach it. They're going
- 4:42Speaker 4: to be uh, you know, as many options as you
- 4:44Speaker 4: can give somebody looking to find you the car, different
- 4:47Speaker 4: colors and different choices, kind of open it up to
- 4:50Speaker 4: find the car. But if you're looking for something specific,
- 4:53Speaker 4: sometimes that may be really difficult.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I think, especially over time this year. You know, the
- 4:58Speaker 3: word on the street is uh, the more specific that
- 5:02Speaker 3: you're going to be, the more granular you're going to be,
- 5:05Speaker 3: the longer your waits.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Probably you know that's not on every vehicle, of course,
- 5:10Speaker 4: and certainly some are going to be a more UH
- 5:14Speaker 4: demand than others. So it makes a big, big difference
- 5:16Speaker 4: what you're looking for. We've seen still having a great
- 5:20Speaker 4: selection of things like the Great vehicles that we sell
- 5:23Speaker 4: very well, our best selling vehicles like Tacoma Tundra rab
- 5:26Speaker 4: for we start.
- 5:28Speaker 3: We've got four runners starting to arrive. Now we've got.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Got two end this week and one is already sold,
- 5:36Speaker 4: but another one is available. We've got uh, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 4: other stuff coming around Signia. We've got Prius, We've got
- 5:44Speaker 4: Highlander and Grand Highlander.
- 5:47Speaker 2: We've got pretty much every we have camera coming.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Really nice selection of vehicles either on the ground or
- 5:54Speaker 3: in the pipeline.
- 5:55Speaker 4: And of course you can get all that on the website.
- 5:57Speaker 4: As soon as a vehicle enters build fit, it stows
- 6:00Speaker 4: up on the website. It'll say on there. Uh So
- 6:03Speaker 4: read down towards the bottom of the vehicle display page
- 6:08Speaker 4: and it'll or certain and the you know you weren't
- 6:10Speaker 4: the search results too, it'll say whether it's in in
- 6:14Speaker 4: build phase, in transit, or in stock. And so it
- 6:18Speaker 4: gives you that transparency and you can help see. You
- 6:22Speaker 4: can see your for yourself what's going on. Our sales
- 6:25Speaker 4: team can see a little bit further up. Uh before
- 6:29Speaker 4: they go into build phase. We get allocations twice a
- 6:32Speaker 4: month from Toyota. Uh so you know we'll get about
- 6:36Speaker 4: a half month's supply every couple of weeks, and they
- 6:39Speaker 4: tend to those tend to come about, uh you know,
- 6:43Speaker 4: within a couple of weeks to within about a month
- 6:45Speaker 4: or a month and a half after the allocation. Uh
- 6:48Speaker 4: So it's just a cycle of replenishment and uh.
- 6:51Speaker 3: We stand on the curb waiting for the pull up
- 6:54Speaker 3: with our cars, most of which are pre solder, a
- 6:58Speaker 3: good number of which.
- 7:00Speaker 2: We've been admiring.
- 7:01Speaker 4: The new Tacoma Trail Hunter which is on the showroom
- 7:04Speaker 4: at that you were.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Sitting right outside my office. That looks like somebody's Tonka
- 7:09Speaker 3: toy dream.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Yeah, we're going to put that out on the corner
- 7:12Speaker 4: I think later this afternoon, so people on the road.
- 7:16Speaker 4: But it's a beautiful new trim level for the Tacoma.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It's also going to be a vehicle on some of
- 7:23Speaker 4: our other vehicles, like the new for Runner that was
- 7:26Speaker 4: just released. We have a trail Hunter coming soon on that.
- 7:30Speaker 4: We actually have a TRD pro that will be here first,
- 7:33Speaker 4: which is very exciting and I'm excited to see that
- 7:36Speaker 4: one and maybe consider replacing my Sequoia with that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: That's a fore erunner. Yeah, I wanted to give.
- 7:45Speaker 4: A shout out to the Bartlesville High School boys soccer team.
- 7:49Speaker 4: They had a great match last night. Have not won
- 7:52Speaker 4: a playoff game since twenty fourteen. I've been to several
- 7:58Speaker 4: of these in that period and heartbreaking losses. And you know,
- 8:02Speaker 4: the team plays really hard, played great this year. And
- 8:06Speaker 4: they had a game against Union in South Tulsa last night.
- 8:10Speaker 4: It was a real nail bier and went to overtime
- 8:14Speaker 4: and they got goals from Austin Bastings and Braxton Deck
- 8:18Speaker 4: or two of my buds and people who played with
- 8:21Speaker 4: body through the years, and congratulations to them. They think
- 8:26Speaker 4: their next game is Friday night at home game here
- 8:29Speaker 4: at Custer Stadium, so everybody wants to go out and
- 8:33Speaker 4: check them out.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It's a great team.
- 8:36Speaker 4: And a lot of fun to go to a soccer
- 8:38Speaker 4: match in Bartlesville. And we've also got baseball going on
- 8:43Speaker 4: high school baseball.
- 8:44Speaker 2: We're wrapping up the season. It's tournament time.
- 8:46Speaker 4: It's tournament time and almost time for the DUNGEUS Toyota
- 8:49Speaker 4: Indians to rally up, but we got to get through
- 8:52Speaker 4: with high school season first. And they've got a big
- 8:55Speaker 4: game I guess later today, and so good luck to
- 8:59Speaker 4: them as they hopefully bring home a trophy this year. Pitching, Yes,
- 9:06Speaker 4: they do have the pitching and I'm sure sure we'll
- 9:09Speaker 4: have a good team this summer too for our league.
- 9:14Speaker 4: So we've been hearing a lot from our customers about,
- 9:17Speaker 4: you know, stuff going on. There's been a surge of
- 9:21Speaker 4: of with all the weather this year, of people needing
- 9:24Speaker 4: the body shop repair. I wanted to remind people we're
- 9:28Speaker 4: one of the We're really the only OEM original equipment
- 9:33Speaker 4: manufacturer body shop in town. We work closely with our manufacturer.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Of course you used to work with Ford, and we
- 9:40Speaker 4: work with all the main insurance companies. We have our
- 9:44Speaker 4: own PDR team that does paintless dit repair and can
- 9:49Speaker 4: do estimates and and work with any insurance company.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Just give those guys a shout if you are needing something.
- 9:57Speaker 4: I know when things like this happen sometimes, Uh, timing
- 10:01Speaker 4: is an issue. Everybody has this this kind of need
- 10:04Speaker 4: at the same time, and so it can delay the repairs.
- 10:07Speaker 4: And we do have one of the fastest turnarounds in
- 10:10Speaker 4: our teams areas and ready for this kind of Our
- 10:14Speaker 4: insurance companies know that about us. And and just if
- 10:19Speaker 4: you're if you do have a choice where you do
- 10:21Speaker 4: that work, and we'd love to have an opportunity to
- 10:24Speaker 4: help you if you do need that kind of work.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I know that they've got.
- 10:28Speaker 4: The pd R team set up for to be there regularly,
- 10:32Speaker 4: three of the best guys around to take care of that.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Uh, those concerns if you I just have that had
- 10:39Speaker 3: those issues. I missed out on the heel while it
- 10:42Speaker 3: was going, and I guess we missed out on Gorilla heel.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I have not heard about Gorilla. Okay, that's a google.
- 10:52Speaker 4: I'll have to research that. But yeah, I know it's
- 10:56Speaker 4: you know, it's been one of those typical springs. But
- 10:58Speaker 4: we've been lucky at the dealership.
- 10:59Speaker 2: You know. We we make.
- 11:02Speaker 4: A little of our unlock by bringing the cars in
- 11:04Speaker 4: every time there's a bunch of.
- 11:06Speaker 1: The hail dances.
- 11:08Speaker 4: And now we're superstitious too, so we figure it won't
- 11:12Speaker 4: happen if we do we move it in.
- 11:14Speaker 2: So, so it's you if you don't, so I think
- 11:20Speaker 2: we better bring it in.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So got dungeons dungeons collision if if you have a
- 11:27Speaker 3: ding dent or an unfortunate mishap with a deer, give
- 11:32Speaker 3: us a call it dungeons. Uh three three three nine
- 11:36Speaker 3: hundred and we'll line you up with some of the
- 11:38Speaker 3: best guys in the collision business.
- 11:41Speaker 4: The other thing I wanted to talk about, we have
- 11:44Speaker 4: a lot of stuff going on. It is we are
- 11:46Speaker 4: getting into May and that.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Is a busy time of year.
- 11:49Speaker 4: We've got tomorrow, well this morning, of course, the annual
- 11:54Speaker 4: meeting for the.
- 11:55Speaker 2: United Way was going on. Good morning to them.
- 11:58Speaker 4: I'm sorry I couldn't come, but I had to be here.
- 12:00Speaker 4: The uh there's uh this tomorrow. They've got a career
- 12:06Speaker 4: fair out at Tri County Tech that we'll be out there.
- 12:09Speaker 2: We've been talking a lot about that. You know.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I think about a third of the people at the
- 12:15Speaker 3: dealership went to Try County at some point.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I was.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I know, many of the body shop, parts and service
- 12:23Speaker 4: guys did. And that's kind of obvious, I mean, but
- 12:26Speaker 4: important people like like our shop form and Jake Snelson,
- 12:31Speaker 4: Chris Mason, the body shop guy, uh that is our
- 12:35Speaker 4: painter and been there.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But they've they've been hit, both.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Of them there for for decades and you know, the
- 12:41Speaker 4: whole career you can start in the car business and
- 12:44Speaker 4: and uh, you know I talked him to Barbara. She
- 12:46Speaker 4: her she got her first accounting job at one of
- 12:51Speaker 4: the job fares at Try County back in the past.
- 12:54Speaker 4: So we're excited to be out there. We'll have some
- 12:57Speaker 4: of the guys that that started at Tri County to
- 13:01Speaker 4: help you see that. And you know, I think there's
- 13:04Speaker 4: some unique opportunity in the industry, and especially at a
- 13:08Speaker 4: small dealership.
- 13:09Speaker 2: You know that we are, we're a.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Bit smaller, so you have the opportunity to learn a
- 13:13Speaker 4: lot of different things. You kind of have to it
- 13:15Speaker 4: away because because we don't have you know, we can't
- 13:18Speaker 4: just have like in our office. There's a lot of times,
- 13:22Speaker 4: you know, in a larger organization there will be people
- 13:25Speaker 4: in every seat their role and we we will divide
- 13:28Speaker 4: those up between two or three people and accomplish all things.
- 13:33Speaker 4: So you have to be a little bit more of
- 13:35Speaker 4: a of a you learn more, you have the opportunity
- 13:38Speaker 4: to advance. You've learned lots of skills. Think about it.
- 13:41Speaker 4: There's car dealerships all over the country and virtually every
- 13:46Speaker 4: you know, small, mid size, large city.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And they all need these skills.
- 13:50Speaker 4: And so whether it's accounting and book keeping, UH, service
- 13:55Speaker 4: and repair, sales and customer service.
- 13:58Speaker 2: UH. You know, there's a there's a whole super transferable skill, super.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Transferable skills, ability to move between those different things, and
- 14:08Speaker 4: and if you do that, you can move up really
- 14:10Speaker 4: easily into management and you know, even own a dealership.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Right, That's what my my grandfather.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Did and that's uh so, it's it's that's something we've
- 14:20Speaker 4: really strongly in.
- 14:21Speaker 2: What time is the career for tomorrow?
- 14:23Speaker 4: It starts at nine o'clock at a couple of hours
- 14:26Speaker 4: in the morning, a couple hours in the afternoon.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Available not just a trike County students. I'm not sure
- 14:32Speaker 3: about that, to be honest, but we will.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Definitely be out there and if you're have some information
- 14:39Speaker 4: about the dealership and the different career paths that we
- 14:43Speaker 4: have there, we will have a We do a what's
- 14:48Speaker 4: called a PDP pro scan on every applicant, and all
- 14:53Speaker 4: all our teammates and associates do that one of these
- 14:58Speaker 4: usually a couple of times a year, but an interesting
- 15:01Speaker 4: in the applicant phase, we have a way to match
- 15:04Speaker 4: you up your personality traits with the different jobs. It's
- 15:08Speaker 4: called a career path report, and basically we take these
- 15:13Speaker 4: pro scans of the people that are been highly successful
- 15:16Speaker 4: in the roles and we match those up with your
- 15:19Speaker 4: different personality types. It's not a test, it's more of
- 15:22Speaker 4: a survey of of how people operate. Measures people on dominance, extraversion, pace, patients,
- 15:31Speaker 4: and conformity, and you know, the people are often nobody's
- 15:38Speaker 4: really on the extremes of those kinds of things. People
- 15:40Speaker 4: are kind of in the middle normally, and it's just
- 15:44Speaker 4: a way to understand how people operate. Some people are
- 15:47Speaker 4: you know, more comfortable and group environments, are being social
- 15:50Speaker 4: and a lot of times those people are very successful
- 15:53Speaker 4: in sales and but you know, and obviously if that
- 15:55Speaker 4: if you need that kind of attention and want to
- 15:58Speaker 4: be up moving and talking to a lot to people
- 16:00Speaker 4: working in the office and accounting might not be the
- 16:03Speaker 4: best place for you because you're kind of there working.
- 16:06Speaker 4: But some people really love taking apart that spreadsheet and
- 16:10Speaker 4: you know and doing the you know, making sure that
- 16:13Speaker 4: everything is in its right place, and you know, it's
- 16:15Speaker 4: a it's there's you know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Those are remarkable people.
- 16:18Speaker 4: And marketing, I'll tell you, as as a business owner,
- 16:23Speaker 4: that's what what we we need all of that, of course,
- 16:27Speaker 4: and you know that's that's really you know, why we
- 16:30Speaker 4: do those kinds of surveys. So we understand and can
- 16:33Speaker 4: get people in the best positions for them. As I mentioned,
- 16:37Speaker 4: it is about a career path and and so helping
- 16:40Speaker 4: people identify kind of what they do best and connect
- 16:43Speaker 4: with that that their goals.
- 16:46Speaker 3: You know, that's well, that's really been the right person
- 16:49Speaker 3: for the right job and the right job for the person.
- 16:52Speaker 4: And and really you know, that's going back to like
- 16:55Speaker 4: I said, how my grandfather got in the car business,
- 16:58Speaker 4: he and his brother and and you know, going through
- 17:01Speaker 4: the years that that whole that's really what's brought life
- 17:05Speaker 4: to the whole thing. For what is it ninety six
- 17:08Speaker 4: years now, we've been selling cars in Oklahoma and really
- 17:12Speaker 4: really proud of that to be a small family owned dealership.
- 17:16Speaker 4: You know, the only dealership we have is right here
- 17:18Speaker 4: in Bartlesville. I think we're the only people in Bartlesville
- 17:22Speaker 4: that can say that. And you know, we're really proud
- 17:26Speaker 4: to be a small business and and believe that we're
- 17:32Speaker 4: fighting for for to keep these kinds of businesses going
- 17:35Speaker 4: part of the fabric of the community. Yeah, that's that
- 17:38Speaker 4: is what we are and want to be for a
- 17:40Speaker 4: long time to come. And that's why career paths and
- 17:42Speaker 4: suff and stuff like this are so important because as
- 17:45Speaker 4: I mentioned, those those folks that those are the folks
- 17:49Speaker 4: that have really been the fabric of the whole business.
- 17:53Speaker 4: You think about people like I mentioned, Jake Snelson started
- 17:57Speaker 4: as a as a trainee an apprentice, you know, doing
- 18:01Speaker 4: stuff like change in oil and basic automotive maintenance. Went
- 18:05Speaker 4: onto the T ten program, which is the Toyota Technical
- 18:08Speaker 4: Training Program. Through that he got fully as certified and
- 18:13Speaker 4: master certified as a Toyota Technician, and you know, and
- 18:18Speaker 4: then a couple of years ago he became.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Our shop forman.
- 18:21Speaker 4: He still works on cars and fixes cars, but he
- 18:23Speaker 4: also mentors the younger texts and helps people with with
- 18:28Speaker 4: the work going on that's more complex or if they
- 18:31Speaker 4: have a question, to help make everybody more efficient, and
- 18:34Speaker 4: you know, so there's a it just keeps growing. Same
- 18:38Speaker 4: same thing with our body shop manager, Mike DeVore. He
- 18:43Speaker 4: started in parts. I think he may have been a
- 18:46Speaker 4: lot porter before he parts, but you know a lot
- 18:48Speaker 4: of times they start at that entry level whatever position,
- 18:51Speaker 4: and then he moved to parts, then he moved to
- 18:54Speaker 4: the body shop and having that different experience really helps
- 18:58Speaker 4: him in his current role because understanding how parts operates
- 19:03Speaker 4: as a body shop manager. That makes a huge difference.
- 19:06Speaker 4: And the same thing like with selling cars, you want
- 19:09Speaker 4: to promote from within the people, you know, because we
- 19:12Speaker 4: we do kind of operate differently than some other auto
- 19:16Speaker 4: dealers and we don't pay people commission and have our
- 19:19Speaker 4: simple price process where we try to keep everything straightforward
- 19:24Speaker 4: and upfront and not play games with you know, to
- 19:28Speaker 4: try to confuse you on the price. And that just
- 19:33Speaker 4: working with people that way, keeping them.
- 19:36Speaker 2: True to that is so important and it really is.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So we should probably talk about some of the specials
- 19:44Speaker 3: that we've got going on.
- 19:45Speaker 2: We do have some great deals.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Yeah, their nes that the run we keep talking about
- 19:51Speaker 4: every month and I cannot get over is the Tacoma
- 19:55Speaker 4: and it's residual value. Yeah it you know, that's kind
- 19:58Speaker 4: of an obscure thing to talk about. Residual values. Mean,
- 20:02Speaker 4: that's the wet of vehicle's worth after the term.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Of your lease.
- 20:06Speaker 4: So it's a it's a lease term in that so
- 20:11Speaker 4: your leave might leasa for two or three years a
- 20:14Speaker 4: certain amount of miles. But Tacomas have one of the
- 20:17Speaker 4: highest residual values in the industry, and this means their
- 20:22Speaker 4: payments are very low. You capable to like a Corolla.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Payment for a truck.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Start as low as a two hundred and sixty nine
- 20:31Speaker 3: dollars lease per month for thirty six months on a
- 20:37Speaker 3: Toyota Tacoma, and that incredible brand new Toyota Tacoma and.
- 20:40Speaker 4: A Corolla like I mentioned, is also a great value
- 20:43Speaker 4: to nineteen a month, only two hundred nineteen a month,
- 20:46Speaker 4: and that's.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Driving a brand new car.
- 20:48Speaker 4: You're driving a brand new car you've got if it's
- 20:51Speaker 4: a you've got thirty months of free maintenance you've got
- 20:58Speaker 4: you know, the manufacturers weren'tarantee the whole time you have
- 21:01Speaker 4: the vehicle. The other thing that happens is if you
- 21:03Speaker 4: buy the car and you might finance it for well,
- 21:07Speaker 4: you're going to finance it for longer than thirty six months.
- 21:09Speaker 4: If you've ever done the math there, it'd be most
- 21:11Speaker 4: people today financed more than sixty months, so many seventy
- 21:15Speaker 4: two months or longer. That's five, six, seven years. And
- 21:20Speaker 4: what happens after three years, of course, is you don't
- 21:23Speaker 4: have any equity in the vehicle. You may actually owe
- 21:25Speaker 4: more than it's worth. And what leasing does is make
- 21:29Speaker 4: it so you don't have to deal with that. After
- 21:31Speaker 4: three years i've had this low payment, I can also
- 21:34Speaker 4: walk away from the vehicle and start over, So I
- 21:37Speaker 4: have a choice have your vehicle every few years and
- 21:43Speaker 4: control my budget, know exactly what I'm going to pay,
- 21:47Speaker 4: and not have to worry about any.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Surprises or repairs, maintenance or maintenance.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It's uh, you make this sound fair every time you
- 21:54Speaker 1: talk about it.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Well, you know I do.
- 21:56Speaker 4: We truthfully do not lease a whole lot of cars
- 21:58Speaker 4: in Oklahoma, and in our market, our best will do
- 22:03Speaker 4: one or two a month normally, and and it's been
- 22:05Speaker 4: that way for a long time. But I just think
- 22:08Speaker 4: it's something in today's market with interest rates a little
- 22:11Speaker 4: bit higher, that this is something that and it is
- 22:15Speaker 4: a big Toyota advantage because Toyota is across.
- 22:18Speaker 2: The board retain their value better than most other vehicles.
- 22:22Speaker 4: And and you know that's one reason why why you know,
- 22:26Speaker 4: we we're proud to be a Toyota dealers. They think
- 22:28Speaker 4: the best cars, they last the longest, they retain their
- 22:31Speaker 4: value when they do. If they do have a problem,
- 22:34Speaker 4: Toyota really steps up. And I think does the right
- 22:37Speaker 4: thing as far as recalls and taking care of problems well,
- 22:42Speaker 4: and the amount of innovation that's going into things white
- 22:45Speaker 4: cabbed well like for Smacks engines in theason to everybody,
- 22:50Speaker 4: every every vehicle that you look at today is going
- 22:53Speaker 4: to be going through those transformations like you described your
- 22:57Speaker 4: engine compartment and that you know, they're not these machines
- 23:01Speaker 4: that we used to be, you know, working on and
- 23:05Speaker 4: able to take care of ourselves. And that's one thing
- 23:08Speaker 4: you know that I mentioned the career path for the
- 23:10Speaker 4: service technician apprentice. You know a lot of these guys,
- 23:14Speaker 4: the two we've got right now, came and started out
- 23:17Speaker 4: as computer it in tenders and then switched to automotive
- 23:21Speaker 4: because it had a lot of the computer it stuff,
- 23:24Speaker 4: plus it was more more complex vehicle.
- 23:28Speaker 2: They were interested in cars and liked cars, and they.
- 23:32Speaker 4: All kind of put it all together. So if you're
- 23:35Speaker 4: interested in cars, want to have that you know, there's
- 23:38Speaker 4: be a specialist in technology like this, and you know,
- 23:41Speaker 4: because it is changing rapidly the the you know, as
- 23:46Speaker 4: we get into more advanced systems on on assisted driving
- 23:51Speaker 4: and power trains. You mentioned the I Force max engine
- 23:55Speaker 4: hybrid hybrid combinations with plug in you know, there's a
- 23:59Speaker 4: lot of stuff that that is possible now and I
- 24:03Speaker 4: think you know that's you're not going to slow down
- 24:06Speaker 4: as we start changing and evolving over these next few years.
- 24:10Speaker 3: We've got a great deal on tundras, Brad. Yes, three
- 24:15Speaker 3: thousand dollars cash.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Rebate and actual cash back rebate.
- 24:20Speaker 3: That is, it's been a while since we've seen one
- 24:23Speaker 3: of those, but.
- 24:24Speaker 4: We have one of them discounted incredibly too. Right now,
- 24:28Speaker 4: what we do I think over five thousand dollars if
- 24:31Speaker 4: I'm not mistaken, and and so that'd be on top
- 24:35Speaker 4: of the three thousand dollars.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So there is I'm dyaling it up about.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Uh.
- 24:41Speaker 4: You know, the Tundra has great incentives right now. You
- 24:44Speaker 4: mentioned the three thousand dollars. There's also a two point
- 24:50Speaker 4: interest for the Tundras as well. Here's one that I
- 24:55Speaker 4: was impressive. Now, not everybody wants a BZ four X,
- 24:58Speaker 4: and I don't have any right now now, but if
- 25:01Speaker 4: you can fired the twenty twenty four BZ four X,
- 25:05Speaker 4: the lease cash on that is nineteen thousand dollars. Wow,
- 25:10Speaker 4: And the least featured lease payment is one hundred and
- 25:13Speaker 4: seventy nine dollars.
- 25:14Speaker 3: A month for an all electric, brand new, all electric vehicle.
- 25:19Speaker 2: That is pretty amazing. That's quite a deal. Yeah. Other
- 25:24Speaker 2: great leases are like the Highlander.
- 25:28Speaker 4: It's the gas model on that four hundred and fifty
- 25:30Speaker 4: nine a month with thirty nine ninety nine do it signing.
- 25:34Speaker 2: I mentioned the Corolla. We've got the camera at to
- 25:37Speaker 2: eighty nine a month for thirty nine ninety nine due.
- 25:41Speaker 3: That is a great deal on a camera to eighty
- 25:45Speaker 3: nine a month, and the camera has gone all hybrid
- 25:47Speaker 3: as well.
- 25:48Speaker 2: That's right, it's.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Still the same full size sedan, really comfortable and get
- 25:53Speaker 4: your around, great fuel economy all hybrid.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Would you would never norm hybrid?
- 25:58Speaker 4: Incredibly the RAB four too, RAB four gas engine vehicle
- 26:04Speaker 4: at three twenty nine a month and the RAB four
- 26:07Speaker 4: hybrid at just three fifty nine a month.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So and there I'm seeing the Tacoma again at two
- 26:13Speaker 2: sixty nine a month.
- 26:13Speaker 4: So that's the one that stands out the most at Tacoma.
- 26:16Speaker 3: So yeah, come test drive at Tacoma. Come check out
- 26:21Speaker 3: the new Highland. It's pretty our Woodland. It's pretty cool,
- 26:26Speaker 3: and we've got them all at DUNGEUS.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Toyota another option, and we talked to just there about
- 26:33Speaker 4: leasing for a second, but this is another one that's
- 26:36Speaker 4: even rare, okay, So one pay lease. And this is
- 26:40Speaker 4: where rather than paying it out over three years, you
- 26:42Speaker 4: actually decide, okay, I'll just you know, this may be
- 26:45Speaker 4: somebody who is.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Considering paying cash for the vehicle could look at this.
- 26:52Speaker 4: That Tacoma again, I hate to keep going back to that,
- 26:55Speaker 4: but it's there. For under ten thousand dollars, you can
- 27:00Speaker 4: drive a Tacoma for twenty four months and twelve thousand
- 27:03Speaker 4: miles a year, and that.
- 27:05Speaker 3: That that's a single ten thousand dollars payment.
- 27:10Speaker 2: One payment.
- 27:11Speaker 4: You bribe a new truck for two years and all
- 27:14Speaker 4: the maintenance, no concern. You're under full warranty.
- 27:18Speaker 3: And and I believe you's a pretty incredibleusiness there. There
- 27:24Speaker 3: are some some other advantages, some.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Other advantages talk to your account and we're not tax advisors,
- 27:30Speaker 4: but that but that if it was put into service
- 27:33Speaker 4: for a small business or a schedule seat axe earner
- 27:38Speaker 4: that could could keep their log on that I used
- 27:42Speaker 4: to do that, so i's about.
- 27:44Speaker 2: That would be a great value.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Just the comparable Corolla is ninety two hundred a month
- 27:53Speaker 4: and the Tacoma is ninety nine hundred year, one time
- 27:58Speaker 4: payment ninety two hundred, So that's just incredible. But it's
- 28:02Speaker 4: the camera at ten thousand, one hundred and five, wrab
- 28:05Speaker 4: Ford eleven thousand, two twenty nine, Highlander at fourteen thousand,
- 28:10Speaker 4: three hundred and seventy three dollars, or drive a Tundra,
- 28:14Speaker 4: a Tundra Crew Max four by four for fourteen thousand,
- 28:18Speaker 4: two hundred seventy five dollars. So those are I mean,
- 28:20Speaker 4: think about that. You could cash for the Tundra and
- 28:24Speaker 4: spend your how much is it fifty two five sixty
- 28:27Speaker 4: one and it's yours, your name is on the title,
- 28:32Speaker 4: or you can give us fourteen thousand, two hundred and
- 28:35Speaker 4: seventy five. You take care of everything, camera exactly all right,
- 28:43Speaker 4: I didn't get off the lease platform.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Oh that's okay. People want to know about that.
- 28:48Speaker 2: It's good to have a moment to kind of educate
- 28:50Speaker 2: people on that.
- 28:51Speaker 3: We've got some parts and service specials, so we should
- 28:55Speaker 3: talk about real quick. And also give a good shout
- 28:57Speaker 3: out to our friends at the Dungeons Truck Ranch Detailed Shop.
- 29:05Speaker 4: John Tochell and the guys down there do a great
- 29:07Speaker 4: job cleaning cars. If you want your car cleaned up,
- 29:10Speaker 4: just give us a call and we'll take care of it.
- 29:12Speaker 3: For and if you have need for some repair, go

- 29:21Speaker 3: We've got some good money off on just about everything.
- 29:25Speaker 1: And where can we find you guys, live and in person.
- 29:28Speaker 4: We're out at the dealership at nineteen eleven Southeast Washington
- 29:31Speaker 4: Boulevard and by the big monolith, the Toyota sign and
- 29:35Speaker 4: uh dungeons Toyota dot com.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Nine one eight three three three oh nine hundred.
- 29:41Speaker 1: All right, folks, you've been watching and listening to car
- 29:43Speaker 1: talk right here on K one, the one you trust.
