- 4:12Visionary author Diana Hill. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank
- 4:18you, thank you. Wow hearing you talk about thank you. That's beautiful.
- 4:29I'm just so excited to have both of you ladies here. I can't
- 4:32hear you, and you may have to go out and come back in.
- 4:36I can hear you, I can't hear you. Go out and come back
- 4:43in. There you go, there you go. So we were just you
- 4:48know, So, Angie, this is her first and many Angie, this
- 4:57is your first or many interviews to come with Basic Black after doctor, because
- 5:00your bio from what I've read, is something. So I'm gonna have you
- 5:03back over and over and over again as much as I can, and I
- 5:06hope that you would love to come back. Thank you. I would be
- 5:11honored anytime I get to talk about the goodness of the Lord. Yeah,
- 5:15thank you, thank you, thank you, because it ain't even about me.
- 5:18Yeah, I don't know how I can. It's gotta be in some
- 5:33setting that you're in, so you may have to move around in the location
- 5:39in your home. Hello. Yes, I can hear you, y'all can
- 5:46hear me, but I can't hear you, right, so you may Yeah,
- 5:50she's gonna have to go out and come back in, but we're gonna
- 5:54go forward. You ladies have such a unique perspective when writing. Tell us
- 5:59what you and join most about writing. I enjoy writing on the same theme
- 6:08when we're all writing about flowers, like you just said, Okay, you
- 6:13take the white, I take the red, she take the you know,
- 6:15and then when they all come together, they're literally a beautiful bouquet. I
- 6:20like writing with co authors that give me a different perspective on the same topic.
- 6:30Again, we could all be talking about the same thing, but WHOA,
- 6:33the way you saw it, that was good. That was good.
- 6:40So sometimes when I'm writing, it's almost another way of looking at something.
- 6:45Sometimes when I'm writing solo books, I feel like, is it coming out
- 6:48of my head correctly? That people understand what I'm trying to say. I
- 6:53don't feel that way when I'm a co author when I'm working with because you
- 6:58have other pool to feed off of it, and you know, everybody have
- 7:01a different set of lens right now, and then sometimes you can get a
- 7:05glimpse in their lens and they then open your lens up to bigger and better
- 7:13things to induce you that I did maybe that push to add more or to
- 7:17see it in a different way. It's wonderful. It's wonderful, and I
- 7:21get excited about I get excited about working with visionaries like Diana because she she
- 7:29she is so enthusiastic, but she does have a vision a way that she
- 7:35wants it to look and sound and feel. So that keeps us on our
- 7:40toes. You know, how do you know what to write and when is
- 7:45the right time to write? My answer may not be what folks want to
- 7:53hear, but truly, truly, I can't write it until I'm like,
- 8:00Lord, what you want me to write? And then hey, do no,
- 8:07Diana? Still Nope, still okay't here. So I truly write based
- 8:20upon what the Lord tells me to write. Now, there are times when
- 8:24I'm okay, I'm working on homework right, Like I'm working on a dissertation
- 8:28one hundred and fifty pages. I'll just go through and be like, Okay,
- 8:31this is what I think, that's what I say, that's what I
- 8:33feel, this is what I and you know, luckily, there'll be a
- 8:37power surgeon and I'll lose it all and then I'll come back and say,
- 8:41Okay, Laura, what do you want me to just It'll just go through.
- 8:48I got to give a shout out to my brother Marcus Latimer out of
- 8:54Detroit, Michigan. He said, hey, but we went through this during
- 8:58the pandemic where I called him and I said, I need you to write
- 9:01a story for our pandemic book. He's like, I don't know what to
- 9:05write. I said, well, just pray of it, just okay,
- 9:09fine, And his story was beautiful. So I tell people, if you
- 9:13don't know how to pray, you don't know how to be inspired and to
- 9:18be led, and you don't know when you're finished writing, because there are
- 9:24times I could go days and not write something, or I could go,
- 9:28you know, nineteen twenty hours, just straight just mad that I got to
- 9:33take a bathroom break because this is gonna be good. You know this is
- 9:37I'm just so, do you feel the stories writers block? Do you think
- 9:39it's writers block? Or you just need a break because you know that that
- 9:45thing that you want to get into your book is dead, but you just
- 9:48need to step back. I don't know what writer's block is, because I
- 9:52write what the Lord tells me to write, so it could be writer's black.
- 9:58If he ain't giving me nothing to write, then either I'm not supposed
- 10:01to contribute to that project or but but I get it. There are times
- 10:07when people have self imposed deadlines, or even the deadline from the the visionary,
- 10:13and they got to get it finished. Just like with homework in school,
- 10:18students, you know you got that paper due, but you waited till
- 10:20the night before, so that that could be that could be a problem.
- 10:26I don't recognize writer's block because I don't think I know what it is.
- 10:33I can write constantly, I can write. It's a one that I don't
- 10:39have carpal tunnel. Well, no, it ain't a wonder. Lord don't
- 10:43want me to stop writing right about now? So yeah, I could.
- 10:50Are you with us now, Diana? Can you hear us? Yes?
- 10:52I can, yes, yes, I hadn't changed the bite. That's fine,
- 11:01you're here with us now. I was just telling evangelists Erjie that you
- 11:07ladies have such a unique perspective when writing, and asked her to tell us
- 11:11about what you enjoying most about writing. I enjoying my writing because it's inspired
- 11:20by the Lord. I'm an inspirational writer. So I don't write fiction.
- 11:26I know there are those who write fiction, but all of my books,
- 11:30even me being a co author, has always had something to do with uplifting
- 11:35and uplifting women. So that's where I'm at. I love to empower women
- 11:43for us to be like on a different, on a higher level my writing.
- 11:50I became an author from being a co author and other books before I
- 11:56even became an author. Yeah, most people start that way. So let
- 12:01me ask you, how do you know what to write and when is the
- 12:03right time to write? Well, it's no set time, because, believe
- 12:11it or not. When Precious Pedals came about, I was in the process
- 12:18of if you can recall from last year, I was in the process of
- 12:22putting the Other Side of the Storm together. And it was on a Saturday,
- 12:28and I was doing that, and I think I was trying to do
- 12:31my podcast or something else. I was trying to do something else, and
- 12:35it for me that Precious Pedals just came up. I didn't even get to
- 12:41God gave me that title. I never even knew that precious pedal, that
- 12:48women are precious pedals of God. I read up in First Peter chapter three,
- 12:58you mentioned Angie about school, and you spoke about, you know,
- 13:05writing that paper. I'm gonna throw a question in it. When writing,
- 13:09do you follow the who, what, where, when, and why of
- 13:11your story? Diana, you want to go first with that one? Or
- 13:18is that that fun? You know what? I don't know. That was
- 13:22a question that I really didn't know how to answer because I was going to
- 13:26ask you, can you elaborate on that a little bit for me? Why
- 13:31I can? I can answer it. I can answer it. I studied
- 13:35mass communication at Wilberforce University one hundred years ago, and we learned to write
- 13:43a press release and to write a story. Now they call them blogs and
- 13:48things, But you had to you had to go there. You had to
- 13:50write who you're talking about? What are you about? That about? Why?
- 13:56How? You had to That was the outline. It was like the
- 14:00title, and then you had who, what, when, we're and why?
- 14:01And then you had to fill it in and then you had to bring
- 14:05it together as a story. I still use that today. I still use
- 14:09that concept when I when I produce a commercial or I'm working with an author
- 14:13to produce their audiobook. If it if it doesn't fill in all those blanks,
- 14:20something's missing, something somebody is not gonna get it. I believe we
- 14:24become very arrogant when we think I'm gonna write this story and people all around
- 14:30the world are just gonna buy it and they're gonna love it. And half
- 14:33the time they don't understand it. English is not their first language, or
- 14:37we didn't get the who, what when we're why? And the how we
- 14:41Oh, okay, I got you, I understand Yeah, oh somebody.
- 14:48You have some people who, as you mentioned Evangelist, that they don't get
- 14:54it. Some people will write just to write and look at the audience or
- 15:01who they're trying to read. That difficult for some when they're writing, they
- 15:07get frustrated and saying, no, they don't like my book. You have
- 15:09to make sure you know your target audience because if you don't, you reach
- 15:16people you hadn't thought of, or you may not reach people at all.
- 15:18So you know, my who is is women, That's who my who is.
- 15:30You have to even as being a as being a life coach is for
- 15:37women who have esteem issues or empower on women how to refine themselves. Again
- 15:46that's the that's then you definitely have to know your audience. If you don't
- 15:50know your audience, like the precious Peddles of God is geared towards women,
- 15:56men will get it, but they won't get it because men's not the pedals
- 16:00of God. Women is the pedals to God. I want to I want
- 16:04to say something about that too a little later on. But as a writer,
- 16:08if you can only choose one, would you rather be a commercial success
- 16:12or a critical success? That was a question that I never even really thought
- 16:21of critical for me, because you could be successful but still not reach the
- 16:27audience that you need to reach a critical success, you can always learn more.
- 16:37That's it. That's the key. That's the keys about elevation with the
- 16:44critical. It's about elevating your mind and having your mind being critique. You
- 16:51know, I'm a critical thinker in your way, so me Heaven, it
- 16:56doesn't matter. If I can reach the masses with a critical mindset, then
- 17:02that's to me, it's more successful. I'd rather be successful that way than
- 17:07to have a whole massive and nobody really understand the critical pray. I want
- 17:12you to understand where the flowers of the Bible. I want you to be
- 17:21able to understand and draw and they zoom the writings of my co authors,
- 17:30their stories, how they compare and contrast, or even why they even chose
- 17:37that particular flower, or why they even chose that particular woman. You,
- 17:45ladies, you were to write ladies to write this book. Because the evangelers
- 17:48said the same thing that you're saying now with each other. I didn't even
- 17:56know. I wasn't even on the line. I here and this is the
- 18:00same thing that she had just said. You've both written several books. How
- 18:07do you feel about or how important is your book reviews? I haven't had
- 18:15that many book reviews, but it is important in the future. Moving on
- 18:22from now, I would I'm going to reach out to others. I think
- 18:26I had been scared to get reviews. I never really thought of it,
- 18:32but I love how you are Black Diamond, how you pull stuff out of
- 18:38me like you just pull stuff out of me. And I am going to
- 18:44be moving forward on as concern. And I know people that do reviews.
- 18:49I do know. I know angb she does reviews, and she's the publisher.
- 18:57She's the publisher of Prescious Puddles. Oh my gosh. See this is
- 19:11where one of those questions coming. I told you earlier, Evangelist that I
- 19:15had to ask you. She's just throwing it a little bit. So I'm
- 19:18gonna get to that too. From Which authors do you draw inspiration from?
- 19:25And good Thomas Smith and Shane and Gorden. I love them too, so
- 19:33inspirational, ok, Angie, And I'm in an evangelist Angie too, But
- 19:40she is, that's why she's up here. But other than her, I
- 19:44have high self esteem with her. Oh and clean clemmy clem m hm right,
- 19:52you know lemmy clem right. Wonderful, Yes, I do. Yeah,
- 19:59power say that again. Sorry. How do you approach your visions?
- 20:15How do you approach revisions and editing? And how is your manuscript evolved throughout
- 20:18the process? Mmm? So Evangelist Angie is doing my editing and when she
- 20:30bring it back then I then I whatever she told me that it might have
- 20:34to be done, I take that on. When I'm doing editing and books.
- 20:40Everybody already knows that that's my number one thing because editing is the biggest
- 20:47part of writing a book. You can write the books, send it over
- 20:49to your to your publisher, but when that editing come back out. I
- 20:55remember when I wrote my first book, Marriage, Your Life's Journey, The
- 21:00editing process had me ripping my hair out, you hear me? Because I
- 21:07was a new author, nobody prepared me for and my publisher at the time
- 21:14went through page by page by page and I had it. I had to
- 21:18get it right. I had to get right. She said, I need
- 21:23you to change this around. Now I have grammarly. Oh goodness, yeah,
- 21:30she said, So, evangelist, is there any type of book that
- 21:37you just would not edit. You would go through it and you'll see where
- 21:40it's headed. But it's just something that you just don't want to touch.
- 21:45Anything that's gonna bring put me in a fresh and a flesh their mindset,
- 21:51you know, anything that's going raised my temperature, my libido or something,
- 21:56because then I'm all distracted. I can't focus because you know, one of
- 22:03my dearest dearest friends writes erotica, and I know it's very good because i've
- 22:08heard her, you know, Donna Gray Banks. I've heard she's one of
- 22:11the women that I truly look up to in the literary world because of what
- 22:18she's done. But I it is difficult for me to read erotica because I
- 22:27need to keep some self control. You know, if you bring in a
- 22:32play of chocolate, that play is for me, not just one piece.
- 22:36And you know what, and I know my I know publishers that won't touch
- 22:42that type of type of writing, and it doesn't have anything and it doesn't
- 22:49take away from anybody. It don't take away from them, but where their
- 22:55mindset is at, and especially if you're want woman of God, it's some
- 23:00women that just won't. I know a couple of publishers personally that will not
- 23:06touch Erodica at all, will not even they were like, it's not that
- 23:11serious for you. I understand where you're coming from. I could pass this
- 23:17on to somebody else, but I can't do it. And that's not taken
- 23:22away that that book may be good. The book may be good, but
- 23:26in their mindset, for their piece of mind, for their spirality, they
- 23:33won't touch you. Of God, How did you choose the title? And
- 23:37what significance does it hold for you? I'm telling you God actually gave it
- 23:45to me. I was telling I was telling evangelists Angie. I said,
- 23:51I can't believe I didn't come up with this, this would happened. I'm
- 23:57in the process of getting the other side of the storm and God told me
- 24:03to put that down and and and touch and start on prescious. And I'm
- 24:08like, huh, I only had one anthology. I did not know that
- 24:15I had another anthology and I have another anthology. The scenes anidot. Can
- 24:27you stee behind the scenes antidote or interesting fact about the creation of this book.
- 24:33It's spiritual minded because and it also I guess sometimes when you're trying to
- 24:44get women close to God, he'll get you to do something that's unconventional.
- 24:52Everybody that's in, all my co authors that's in this It forced them to
- 24:57open up the Bible, and it forced them and go deeper. It forced
- 25:03them a little bit to look up whatever flower they chose, and in it
- 25:10they had to have the flower where it came from, the scripture he came
- 25:18from. And then at the end an encouragement word. Same thing with the
- 25:25woman. I can't give away too much, but same thing with the woman.
- 25:32It's like, why did you choose the woman? Three sixteen and seventeen
- 25:37and Zacharyan Now we got three three sixteen and seventeen and Zacharian nine and sixteen.
- 25:45In his own words, God tells us the people of Israel were to
- 25:48him as valuable real jemstone setting gold. They were precious to him. You're
- 25:53right about the precious pedals of God. What are the precious pedals of God?
- 25:57And how important are those pedals to you? I am a pedal of
- 26:03God, because that's what the world tells me. That's what First Peter tells
- 26:07me. That women are pedals of God. And there are fifteen flowers in
- 26:15the Bible. That discusses the flowers of the Bible and where it came from,
- 26:25like, for instance, I found out that the Lord is is the
- 26:30ultimate flower of the Lord. We're gonna go for a break, and I
- 26:37got some questions for you ladies. When we come back, we canna take
- 26:41a quick quick break and ask some questions for you. Okay, m hmm.
- 27:11Once you have a commercial ready, got sixty seconds. Take a mental
- 27:18health minute to learn about depression disorders. They cause symptoms that affect how you
- 27:25feel, how you think, and how you handle daily life. Depression should
- 27:32be treated by health professionals. Don't try to handle it alone or treat it
- 27:37with alcohol or illegal drugs. Treatments include psychotherapy or talk therapy, medication,
- 27:45and sometimes brain stimulation therapy. These treatments may also be used in combination with
- 27:51one another. If you think you might have depression, talk to a trusted
- 27:55friend, family member, or health care provider. The earlier treatment begins,
- 28:00the more effective it is. Learn more about depression through the Nimah website.
- 28:07It takes sixty seconds to share this mental health minute to help someone else.
- 28:18We are back here with co author's angb, evangelist Angib and visionary author Diana
- 28:26Hell and they're talking about the precious pedals of God. What was the most
- 28:30rewarding moment you experienced during the writing process? Hello, Yes, can you
- 28:38hear me? I could hear you. Somehow, some way I checked out
- 28:45again and I can barely hear you, but I could hear you. What
- 28:48was the most rewarding moment you experienced during the writing process? Me knowing that
- 28:57I'm really starting to fill with God had for me. I have always been
- 29:07a co author in other women's books, but me knowing that God had put
- 29:15inside of me that I have it to be a visionaire. I never even
- 29:21thought in a million years. If you would have asked me eighteen months ago,
- 29:23would I be a vision visionaire of my own anthology? I would have
- 29:30told you you crazy, Angie, the same question I just made. I
- 29:37just think filling in the gaps, being able to read what my co authors
- 29:44wrote and build upon that really elevated elevated my writing. It really helped me
- 29:56to see things more clearly after after, and I think that will happen with
- 30:03the reader. It's like a stair steps. They'll read one story, Okay,
- 30:07that was good. Oh, I didn't think about it that way.
- 30:10Oh you know what, that makes a lot of sense, you know,
- 30:12just kind of build upon it. And I think that's I think that made
- 30:17the difference. That made the difference. And that's what brings me into my
- 30:21next question, or what points or messages do you want to communicate to your
- 30:23readers? Diana, can you ask me again? I can badly hear you.
- 30:33What points or messages do you want to communicate to your readers. I
- 30:41just want them to be able to have an impact full moment and bring it
- 30:51to that to let them know that it's okay. Because I'm an inspirational writer,
- 30:57so I'm all about empower women. Same thing with Precious Pedals. When
- 31:03they read Precious Pedals, they will get something out of Precious Pedals rather it's
- 31:08from me, or rather it's from any of my other co authors, because
- 31:14they will understand about the flowers of the Lord. They will understand the women,
- 31:19the positive women that's in the Bible. And at the same time they
- 31:27will have any encouragement words. Because see, first of all, somebody wrote
- 31:33today on one of my Facebook friends was going through something, and I had
- 31:41to give her a word of encouragement. And my basic thing is be blessed,
- 31:48be encouraged, and be strengthened that you will come out whatever darkness that
- 31:52you are going through. Amenen, do you hear from your lunch kind of
- 32:00feedback dough they give you. Everybody that had read my books, read my
- 32:07anthologies, they got some they got something out of it. They said that
- 32:13they are encouraged from my testimony and others testimony. It's all about testimony,
- 32:20because when you have a testimony, it's not for you, it's for others.
- 32:25You deal with the testimony. You know what I'm saying, like you
- 32:30deal with the testimony. I just have to add to that. I was
- 32:37telling a friend of mine today that I feel like I'm in a job season,
- 32:42not that I'm losing everything, like job lost everything. But I'm the
- 32:45one that survived to come and tell you that all your children are dead.
- 32:50And I'm the one that survived to come and tell you that all your cataly
- 32:53is lost. Your testimony shows that you're the one who survived to be able
- 32:59to tell it, and I am. I am grateful for that. I
- 33:01am grateful. H Yes, LEVI said, hello lady. So I guess
- 33:09you know, LEVI. I remember when I was in the job season,
- 33:21when I had my house fires. I was in the job season for for
- 33:29a couple of years everything when nobody really knew. I was in the state
- 33:36of depression. But God kept telling me to write. He kept telling me
- 33:42to write in my joke season, That's all I knew. I was in
- 33:46a couple anthologies in my job season, like right after my fire, and
- 33:53the the visionaries kept pushing me and pulling on me when I wanted it to
- 34:01get out, and I was like, I'm ready to give up. I
- 34:05don't have the strength to write both of them. I was in three actual
- 34:09out in actuality between the middle part of twenty twenty and the beginning of twenty
- 34:17twenty one, and one of them, I didn't you that I had a
- 34:22dead balance and I wanted to go and do that with marriage life and faith
- 34:29work. How do you you know with your visionary, how do you balance
- 34:32your marriage life and facing your work. There's a time for everything for me,
- 34:42you because one thing, the world says you had to have a balance
- 34:45in everything that God's give you. I know that it's certain times that I
- 34:52had to put this away and focus on this, and then it's certain times
- 34:57that I had to pick my book up and focus on you, on my
- 35:00book, and etc. Etc. The word says you have to be able
- 35:06to balance everything out, including your marriage. And I thank God that I
- 35:12have a husband who encourages me and supports all my endeavors, so he knows
- 35:20and understand if I had to pick this book up at three o'clock in the
- 35:23morning with the light on. Sometimes I'm in a room within my bedroom or
- 35:30I go in another room, But that don't take away from him. He
- 35:35won't get mad at that because he understands the assignment that I have on me.
- 35:39At that particular time, you had mentioned that you were in the middle
- 35:44of writing On the Other Side of the Storm, and that's the other side
- 35:46of the Storm is a series of inspiring, unique stories from women who triumphantly
- 35:51overcame all obstacles. Is the Precious Pedals of God a part of the series.
- 35:57No, actually, I'm starting on part two in September, and that
- 36:04one is called The Blessings on the other side of the storm. Yes,
- 36:09you know that you're gonna be here with me right, Yes? And evangelist
- 36:15is in that book as well. Yeah, Blessing on the other side.
- 36:22There's a blessing on the other side of the storm. Yes, it is,
- 36:27yes, and that's the man. In fact, that was inspired from
- 36:30one of my best friends who's also a co author, and she told me,
- 36:37she said, right before the book launch, she said, well,
- 36:40right, why don't you do a part two? And at first I was
- 36:45like no, and then I had to think about it. I said,
- 36:50you know what, I'm going to do it, and I came up with
- 36:53that title, The Blessings on the Other Side of the Storm. Angie.
- 36:59During depending you launched the inspirational audiobook anthology series Confinement Chronicles. Tell me about
- 37:07that. Well, I got to give a shout out to Kim Glover who's
- 37:10watching she's in that project, and Sandy Green, hey girl, hey girl,
- 37:15my my alopecia sisters are all checking in. So I appreciate y'all for
- 37:21watching tonight. But that that book truly was you know, everybody was freaking
- 37:30out, everybody was locked in. I was trying to figure out what to
- 37:32do and how to do it. And it seemed like every time I walked
- 37:37in the room, the news was talking about, you know, we got
- 37:39to get over the curve, we gotta do this, and and I just
- 37:46God, what do you want me to do? And so I started writing.
- 37:51And then you know, sometimes I understand I'm beginning to understand algorithms,
- 37:57but now I'm truly feeling algorithms through the Holy Spirit, when I can say
- 38:02to God, Okay, who's supposed to help me with this? And then
- 38:06somebody's name will just pop up randomly or on Facebook or something, and then
- 38:12I ask them. And it wasn't like it was an income producing project.
- 38:16I think everybody paid maybe fifty dollars to be in it, So it wasn't
- 38:21like I was trying to get rich. I just wanted people to express themselves.
- 38:25Pastors talked about shepherding their flock in a whole new way. I remember
- 38:31seeing the marches all over the world for George Floyd, and I remember thinking,
- 38:38ain't we supposed to be six feet apart? You know? So there
- 38:42are different chapters in confinement chronicles. Out of the mouths of babes. How
- 38:47did the kids deal with it? My mental health in the pandemic. How
- 38:54do you what do you do when the doors of the church are closed?
- 38:59It just it laid itself out. It almost felt like creating a good dinner.
- 39:05You know, you got your roast in the oven and then the beans
- 39:08come out good, the potatoes, and that's what the book feels like.
- 39:17It just laid out so nice. Well, you know, I had spoken
- 39:23to you earlier and I mentioned that I saw a bio off you ones and
- 39:28it's just so much with it that you. I noticed that you've also coursed
- 39:32over and wrote children's books, and you have inspirational books. What genre are
- 39:37you most comfortable writing? If testimonial is a genre, that's me. I'm
- 39:45gonna tell a story. I'm gonna tell a story the way I remember it,
- 39:49the way I lived it. It may not be spelled right, punctuation
- 39:52may be wrong, but I'm going to all right. My son in law
- 40:00tells me that I write like I talk, and so for me, I
- 40:05guess writing is an extension of who I am and what God has allowed me
- 40:12to go through. I don't want it to be like Big Mama. And
- 40:15then would say just running off of the mouth, just like you said,
- 40:19earlier writing to be writing. But now my cousin said the same thing to
- 40:27me, that I write like I talk. And at that moment, I
- 40:31was kind of insulted when she said that, But then I had to take
- 40:36a step back, but because I wanted to go at her and say,
- 40:39you know, we come from two different worlds. But I had to remember
- 40:43that I'm in college and I'm here to be educated and she's sitting here educating
- 40:46me. And I had to look at some of the things that I've written,
- 40:51and then I had to read it again, and I said, she's
- 40:52right. I am writing the way that I speak, and some people don't
- 40:58understand the way that I speak, like I wasn't born and raised in the
- 41:01state that I'm living in. And when I first came here, people would
- 41:07pick up and they would say that I have an accent. But I look
- 41:10at them and say, no, you have an accent, and it's just
- 41:13the way that I speak. And it just was a whole thing that it
- 41:16came about, and it just resonated on me with what my professor had said,
- 41:20and to this day, I thank her. I thank her for saying
- 41:25that to me. I may have been it then, but I don't even
- 41:29know the years, maybe fifteen years later, I'm thinking about it, and
- 41:32it's just it's just amazing that she was able to say that to me,
- 41:37and I was able to pick up on it and bounce around it, just
- 41:39like you were saying. You know that we write sometimes m that's and that's
- 41:50how came about. It was a part. It was a chapter and confinement.
- 41:58So the publisher said, you know, this chapter would be good just
- 42:01by itself as a children's book. We also did the same thing with the
- 42:07chapter on alopecia awareness alopecians who have been wearing hair pieces and wigs. I
- 42:14mean, if the pandemic didn't stop you from spending that kind of money,
- 42:21you you was a strong somebody. There were a lot of us that just
- 42:24couldn't get in the salon or couldn't couldn't buy you know, I couldn't do
- 42:30anything. So it was like, Okay, I got a rocker. I
- 42:31got and that book. That book was pulled out of Confinement Chronicles. It
- 42:37was a chapter. I like what you said that the children's book are part
- 42:43of the chronicles. Have you thought about going into the schools with that because
- 42:47a lot of these children are going to miss out on the fact that we
- 42:52were in a pandemic. You know, as time goes on, some of
- 42:58them won't even remember it, you know, because we're talking about you know,
- 43:01maybe the Black plague and things that was so far away and we've heard
- 43:06of it, and some of us may not have lived in that time,
- 43:07but right now we've lived in this time. You may have a five or
- 43:10six year old that won't know anything about it and just figured that they was
- 43:14at home for months, for years, just mainting, you know, But
- 43:20that's something that you know, should go into the school system, your chronicles,
- 43:23you know. As far as actually Black Diamond, I have to give
- 43:29God praise again because the children's chapter was taken from a virtual writing workshop that
- 43:37I did with a class of fifth graders, and they wrote their stories which
- 43:44were so emotional. I lost my grandmama during the pandemic. My daddy lost
- 43:51his job, so we can't have seconds for dinner, you know, my
- 43:55favorite basketball player died. I have to take care of my little brothers and
- 44:00sisters. I mean, we think that's nothing, but for a fifth grader,
- 44:04that's a whole lot. And so because of them, yes, so
- 44:10because of their stories. And then their subsequent book. Each of them became
- 44:15an author. They have their own books that they can you know, sell
- 44:20uh to folks. But now we continue to teach that writing workshop. We
- 44:24call it YEP y e a P, which is an acronym Youth Entrepreneur Author
- 44:31Program. We we get on camera with them and teach them how to write,
- 44:36write their bio. We teach them how to take a selfie, We
- 44:38teach them how to read their their peers work to be the first round of
- 44:43editing. And this is a program that we we work with in the schools.
- 44:47We've we were working with school district out of Yeah, yeah, I
- 44:54want to know about it when I bring you back, I definitely want to
- 44:58know more about that. The Diana, you said that the intended audience was
- 45:04for women because we're talking about the precious pedals of God. Do you believe
- 45:07that it could be intended for men so they can learn how to treat those
- 45:12precious pedals of God. Yes, even though that my target audience is for
- 45:17the women, this is still a lesson learned from the men as well.
- 45:25So in your book you talk about how the precious pedals of God extort the
- 45:30divine purpose between the outer beauty of a flower and the inner beauty of a
- 45:34woman. Is that one of the things that you're talking about. Yes,
- 45:37actually, because see, first of all, the flower, the flower is
- 45:45the outer beauty, but the woman's pedal of God comes from the inside that
- 45:52enter us. You know, this shows us how the Proverbs the one woman
- 46:00is that's and that's an inside work. That's not an outside work. That's
- 46:07an inside work. When the world see us, how the world see the
- 46:12women, how our husband is supposed to see us as a precious pedal,
- 46:19and it shows how we are supposed to be treated, each each flower,
- 46:24each woman delicately. I hope that they're listening, Angie, what is one
- 46:30of the most transformative experiences you had since you're awakening as an evangelist And how
- 46:35does that play a role in you're writing The Precious Pedals apart if it plays
- 46:38a role at all. Oh, yeah, it plays a role. But
- 46:43transformative for me is okay, I'm going through it, but it ain't for
- 46:51me, so let me just write it down. That made a big difference
- 46:57because it removes the old woe is me? Oh why me? Oh Lord
- 47:02get me? Just like okay, God, I'm going through this for the
- 47:07person who can't do anything about it for themselves. I'm going through this for
- 47:12the woman who thinks she don't have enough self esteem, like Dan always talks
- 47:15about her. She don't think she can make it. Okay, well I
- 47:17need you. See. If I went through all this, I know you
- 47:22can too. So let's just keep it together right and tight for Christ you
- 47:27know, Well, that's right, that's my model evangelist the same thing,
- 47:32like I had to go. I had to live through that storm. It
- 47:37couldn't have been the woe was me because I still had a family to take
- 47:42care. I still had myself to take care. I still had to believe
- 47:47on the Lord, even though he put me through this, you know,
- 47:52just like evangelists said earlier Joel, and through it. I went through that
- 48:01storm. I had to live through that storm. I don't think there's anybody
- 48:07here on this earth that can say they go through some form of storm.
- 48:12Now, it may not have been as great as somebody else's or as bad
- 48:15as somebody else's, but I think we've all been through it in some way.
- 48:19And if somebody's going to say that they haven't been through it, then
- 48:22you haven't lived. And also, what I do know is it's not what
- 48:29you go through, is how you go through it. I was in my
- 48:34storm, still serving church, still serving in church through my sickness, with
- 48:42my head held high, and still praising God, not questioning him. But
- 48:46I just knew that He was going to make it better at some point.
- 48:52So my faith had to be unshakable, even when I didn't know where it
- 48:57was going to come from. I still was praising God, and I still
- 49:00was serving God with gladness in my heart, because the Word tells me you
- 49:07had the blessed God in and out of season in every area of your life.
- 49:15You can't blessed I when everything is going well. You have to be
- 49:19able to bless God even when you murmuring, because God knows the matters of
- 49:24your heart. But you still had to praise God even in that storm.
- 49:30Was a hard Heck, no, I guess it was hard. It was
- 49:35very hard, because you know, the enemy comes at the enemy know how
- 49:38to attack you. If the enemy can separate you from everybody else, he
- 49:45know that he have you. You know how they say you almost gave up
- 49:49on the Lord, but you didn't. The part that didn't give up on
- 49:52the Lord or the part that nobody gave up on the Lord is because God
- 49:59is pierced on you, your heart. And when you know that, you
- 50:01know that he brought you out one thing, no matter what it looks like,
- 50:06He's going to bring you out of everything in your life. Ladies,
- 50:10in one word, how symbolic are the precious pedals of guard to you?
- 50:15Say that again, in one word, how symbolic are the precious pedals of
- 50:22guard to you? It's very symbolic. I would have never thought that because
- 50:28God. The inspiration came from the Lord. It didn't even come from me.
- 50:31I never even knew that we riched precious pedals of God until I looked
- 50:37into it. He gave me. The inspiration came from him. He gave
- 50:43that to me, and I just took it and I ran with it,
- 50:45and I looked up all the scripture. That's what I'm saying this right here,
- 50:52Your one your word would be your one word would be inspiration it.
- 51:00Yes, And I wasn't worried transformation transformation. Wow, So what part of
- 51:08transformation is another one? But yes, because it's transformed transforming your mindset.
- 51:16It was transforming your mindset and it has been seffects in this book right now.
- 51:25Evangelists will tell you we had and I'm learning how to not put a
- 51:31tie. This book taught me not to put a time. I was supposed
- 51:37to have this book done and ready by March and it didn't have. What
- 51:45projects are you currently working on and can you offer any hints or teasers for
- 51:50your upcoming work? Mm? Well, I know she's working on, uh,
- 51:57that other side of the Storm and ANGB Productions, which is one of
- 52:02my agencies. They're going to be producing the audiobook for that, and I'm
- 52:07excited about it. We're going to be producing the audiobook for Precious Pedals as
- 52:12well, and we're really excited about that. There again, so many for
- 52:17those that have ears to hear, let them hear. And sometimes you can
- 52:22read a line and not really get it until you hear it. And so
- 52:28who does your graphic art work for your books? Well as the publisher that's
- 52:34working with Diana, I have a team and I'm grateful for them that they
- 52:40are graphic designers that specialize in creating book covers, editing formatting. They'll put
- 52:51it through grammarly before the editor gets it. The editor get it, and
- 52:54then come back and we go back and forth in a timely man. But
- 53:00the video production, the audio and the video production part is my baby.
- 53:05That that's my baby. I love to create the book trailers. I love
- 53:08to create the commercials that are going to air on shows like yours and radio
- 53:13shows like we do in the morning. I love to do that. I
- 53:16love to do the interviews with the authors and the conversations and so it as
- 53:23long as everybody stays, you know, in their zone, we're good.
- 53:29Well. I both that I haven't finished yet, and I'm definitely gonna try
- 53:32to get to you to do all of that because I did sitting. I'm
- 53:37not gonna say I've been sitting on it up to maybe I have one more
- 53:40chapter. And I've been holding onto this book for maybe about two years.
- 53:45It's my baby, and i've been I've been with this book. I'm gonna
- 53:51be honest, and I said it to other people. I had to see
- 53:52a psychiatrist to write this book because you will lose it if you don't.
- 53:58And I wanted to make sure I was okay because if I wasn't gonna be
- 54:01okay, then the readers won't be okay. So I had you did,
- 54:05because it was taking me there. So I said, I couldn't take care
- 54:07if it took another five years because of the steps that I have to take
- 54:12with this. So well, I give you a piece of advice that that
- 54:16somebody gave me years ago. A publisher gave me. She said, Uh,
- 54:21you may think the book isn't finished, or you only have one chapter
- 54:24left. Send it in. Let us start editing and making change, and
- 54:30then when we send it to you to look at, you'll be like,
- 54:34oh, I need to add this in here. Oh yeah, that makes
- 54:37sense. I need to put this, and it'll be finished before you know
- 54:39it. But as long as you're sitting on it, it's like as long
- 54:43as you're sitting on a baby, if you never send that baby to school,
- 54:46the baby ain't gonna grow. As long as you sing on to the
- 54:51baby, you'll you'll never feel like the baby's gonna be what the baby needs
- 54:54to be. So yeah, I'll send you my information because I'm definitely can't
- 55:01help it to you. There's a divine there's a divine purpose of God.
- 55:07Let's begin by reminding ourselves the God of the Bible is a God of purpose.
- 55:13If you want to know more about God's precious Pedals connect with visionary author

- 57:52it fits in this book, but you'll never know. It could be perfect
- 57:57for the next one. So just send it to evangel and GB at gmail
- 58:00dot com. We'll take care of you. I thank you Evangelists for even
- 58:08bringing me down when I was on the twenty and you done brought me down
- 58:13to a ten and a five. We both was there because this right here
- 58:19was the doozy. But it's going to be. But I had to also
- 58:23understand when you putting something together for the Lord and the Lord is connected,
- 58:30don't think it's going to come easy. You want to have your bumps and
- 58:34bruises, but just no. I had to tell my co authors, a
- 58:38few of them, please stand still. It's going to happen. We just
- 58:44don't know when. And everybody understand that today we still know God. And
