- 0:17Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark. I'm Megan and
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm a lifelong Hallmark movie fan and I'm Wendy and
- 0:23Speaker 1: all I have to say is thank God for our
- 0:24Speaker 1: Lacy should Bear movie this week. Today we are discussing
- 0:28Speaker 1: the wedding veil expectations before we get into all of
- 0:33Speaker 1: our thoughts and opinions about this movie. You know, if
- 0:35Speaker 1: you want to connect with us outside of the podcast,
- 0:37Speaker 1: we'd love for you to follow us on Instagram. We
- 0:39Speaker 1: are Girls Gone Hallmark, which is our Hallmark specific account,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and we're also at Megan and Wendy, which is all
- 0:45Speaker 1: things Megan and Wendy. Yeah. You can also email us
- 0:48Speaker 1: at Megan and Wendy at gmail dot com if you
- 0:51Speaker 1: have some thoughts on our podcast, reviews, or anything else,
- 0:55Speaker 1: We're here and you can join our exclusive Facebook group
- 0:58Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark. Since the beginning of the year, and
- 1:01Speaker 1: I know we have new listeners, I would like to
- 1:03Speaker 1: remind everybody listening that this is one of two podcasts
- 1:07Speaker 1: that we host. Our other podcast is called Long Story
- 1:09Speaker 1: Short with Megan and Wendy. That's a women's lifestyle podcast.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We talk parenting and beauty and midlife and pop Culture
- 1:17Speaker 1: every Thursday, so we'd love to.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Have you give that a listen as well.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Let's talk some general Hallmark news and notes. All right,
- 1:24Speaker 1: so we have what we hear at Girls Call Hallmark.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Consider big news, a big bold statement from Hallmark. We're
- 1:30Speaker 1: curious to see how it plays out. And that is,
- 1:32Speaker 1: as of January second, Hallmark has updated their online terms
- 1:35Speaker 1: and conditions to exclude the use of racist, homophobic language,
- 1:40Speaker 1: language that is negative about gender identity or orientation, or
- 1:45Speaker 1: is in any other way as a blanket statement otherwise objectionable.
- 1:50Speaker 1: What we found really interesting is this movement was driven
- 1:56Speaker 1: by a letter written by a fan. We found that
- 1:59Speaker 1: information now in our Facebook group, So there's lots of
- 2:02Speaker 1: behind the scenes information in there if you'd like to
- 2:04Speaker 1: hop into Girls Gone Hallmark. And as Wenday and I
- 2:07Speaker 1: were talking this morning, I said, what exactly does this mean?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Like where does this apply? My first guess is like
- 2:13Speaker 1: in their app where they have reviews. Yeah, but you
- 2:17Speaker 1: found some other information that we have questions about. It
- 2:21Speaker 1: wasn't really you know, like you just brought up additional questions. Yes,
- 2:25Speaker 1: so Sleepy Kitty Paw on Twitter, Yes, this person knows
- 2:29Speaker 1: the ins and out of everything. I don't know how,
- 2:32Speaker 1: but they had had brought up that they were interested
- 2:36Speaker 1: to see if this was going to apply to Hallmark's
- 2:38Speaker 1: social channels as well. Yeah, especially Facebook, because that's where
- 2:43Speaker 1: a lot of really negative, awful comments come from, like
- 2:47Speaker 1: in the in reaction to like, you know, Hallmark posting
- 2:50Speaker 1: like about a movie or whatever.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm never watching this.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Anyway from the basement dwellers, so to speak. Sure, I
- 3:00Speaker 1: think more than anything, for me, Homewark making the statement,
- 3:05Speaker 1: standing behind the statement.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Sends a big message. I'm curious to see how it
- 3:12Speaker 2: plays out. You know.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm actually really impressed that they took note from one
- 3:18Speaker 1: person who wrote a letter to them or contacted them
- 3:21Speaker 1: about it. I wonder if that was just like the
- 3:23Speaker 1: tipping point or were they just waiting or what the
- 3:26Speaker 1: story is. Yeah, I would hope that it was something
- 3:28Speaker 1: that was in development for them. Yeah, exactly, exactly, all right?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Moving on? In late December, it was announced that Homemark
- 3:35Speaker 1: will Film will film a twenty twenty three Christmas movie
- 3:39Speaker 1: at the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Have you been there before?
- 3:44Speaker 1: How you like?
- 3:45Speaker 2: What's the story there?
- 3:47Speaker 1: I mean, it's a historic beautiful estate. You can tour,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you can walk through it, and.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Can do you stay there? Can you stay sleep there?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Is it like a hotel?
- 3:55Speaker 1: So they have lodging but not in the actual estate. Okay,
- 4:00Speaker 1: the estate is more I would say a museum. Ohie,
- 4:03Speaker 1: It's very cool to walk through and see how it
- 4:06Speaker 1: used to run when it was an estate and staff
- 4:09Speaker 1: and the grounds are gorgeous Asheville, North Carolina is beautiful.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I have seen clips on Instagram of this being filmed,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and I like that. Getting a Christmas movie filmed in
- 4:20Speaker 1: the winter. Okay, so that's what I was going to
- 4:22Speaker 1: bring up. So it's called A Builtmore Christmas and its
- 4:25Speaker 1: stars Christopher Polaha and Bethany joy Linz, and I have
- 4:31Speaker 1: been I follow her on I follow both of them
- 4:33Speaker 1: my Instagram, and she especially has been showing a lot
- 4:36Speaker 1: of behind the scenes stuff. They start shooting today the
- 4:39Speaker 1: day that we're recording this Monday, January ninth. But they've
- 4:42Speaker 1: been there in the last couple weeks, I guess for
- 4:46Speaker 1: rehearsals or I don't whatever actors do. I don't know
- 4:48Speaker 1: pre productions exactly, but I was like, is this the
- 4:52Speaker 1: first time that we've ever gotten like sneak peak stuff
- 4:56Speaker 1: via social media on movie sets. I think what they
- 5:00Speaker 1: have on their side is the fact that Hollmark has
- 5:02Speaker 1: announced this movie because a lot of times the movie
- 5:04Speaker 1: hasn't been announced. So for example, a movie that we're
- 5:07Speaker 1: going to be reviewing tomorrow. I looked back on the
- 5:10Speaker 1: actresses social media and she had posted like in hair
- 5:15Speaker 1: and makeup on set of a project she was excited
- 5:18Speaker 1: to announce that would then become this movie. I don't
- 5:21Speaker 1: know what drives when announcements can be made, but I
- 5:25Speaker 1: think this might be the earliest we've ever gotten an announcement.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You know, we got Jolly Goood Christmas early last year,
- 5:32Speaker 1: but I think even that was like late winter, early spring. Oh,
- 5:36Speaker 1: but we were hearing about it, I don't remember.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So I like, I like keeping the excitement up.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Me too. I love Polaha and Bethanie Joylyn. So I
- 5:47Speaker 1: have a fun fact. Tell me Keith Nielsen, who did
- 5:50Speaker 1: the costumes for a Holiday Spectacular. Yeah, he's doing the costumes.
- 5:54Speaker 2: For this movie as well.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And so what I had read is that, like, I
- 6:00Speaker 1: think it's a bit of a time travel yeah, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: they go back to the late forties, and so I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: assuming he's doing like all the wardrobe for that time period,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and I'm so excited because I just thought his costuming
- 6:13Speaker 1: was stunning. I agree, in holiday spectacular. So I'm really excited.
- 6:18Speaker 1: We were like d I mean, back and forth and
- 6:19Speaker 1: he's like, oh my god, this city of Asheville was
- 6:22Speaker 1: like a buzz that they were like the biggest movie
- 6:25Speaker 1: there and all this stuff. So they put out a
- 6:27Speaker 1: call for extra I I looked at it and I thought.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Man, if I lived locally, yeah, wouldn't you be like,
- 6:33Speaker 2: let's go? Of course?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah? Super neat right, Yeah, what else do we have?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Christmas Con announced as summertime fan convention for June ninth
- 6:42Speaker 1: through eleventh in Overland Park, Kansas.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Now Wendy and I are kicking ourselves because Christmas Con
- 6:50Speaker 2: was in Passi Dina last summer, which is like an
- 6:53Speaker 2: hour north of us. Yeah, and we didn't go.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And then I really feel like girls gone homework on
- 6:59Speaker 1: the back end amped up for us. Yeah, and then
- 7:01Speaker 1: all of a sudden, we feel like we really.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Need to attend one of these.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I think so, So June ninth through eleventh, have you
- 7:07Speaker 1: checked your calendar yet? Everyone will be out of school.
- 7:10Speaker 1: It is that's the weekend right after both my kids' birthdays, but.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It's not the weekend of their actual birthday, like.
- 7:17Speaker 1: We've got birthdays, like in the few days preceading that.
- 7:21Speaker 2: We would like to be there. Would you like to
- 7:23Speaker 2: see us there?
- 7:24Speaker 1: I know, be kind of fun. We'd like, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: to attend as guests, as press something something well, a
- 7:32Speaker 1: panel hosted by Meg and Wendy of Girls Cone Home.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I would love it.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I would love it so much. According to their website,
- 7:37Speaker 1: tickets go on until January thirteenth, and they also have
- 7:40Speaker 1: announced their new jersey. Yes that was announced first, right,
- 7:46Speaker 1: that's happening in December and December and tickets have gone
- 7:49Speaker 1: on sale for that. I know some of their ticket
- 7:51Speaker 1: levels have already sold out for wow.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Wow. There was some contention in the comments when they
- 7:58Speaker 1: announced it that people were saying, you know, it's not really.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Fair to put them on sale now in December when
- 8:04Speaker 2: money can be tight for people.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But from a business perspective, they want to get those
- 8:08Speaker 1: early ticket sales. They want to get that money in
- 8:10Speaker 1: and there's there's no month that's.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Great for everybody.
- 8:15Speaker 1: No, they it's a business and they need to pay
- 8:17Speaker 1: for their whatever they had, if someone was clearly willing
- 8:21Speaker 1: to buy those VID tickets exactly. Well, this the one
- 8:25Speaker 1: in Kansas. They have announced that Jonathan Bennett is the
- 8:29Speaker 1: official host, which would be kind of cool too.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I would love what's Kansas like in June? Do you
- 8:34Speaker 2: think I have human Maybe? Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I've never been to Kansas, have you No? My son
- 8:41Speaker 1: and husband have and they went to a baseball game
- 8:43Speaker 1: and it was delayed by three hours for Thunderstore. Oh boy, Yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't know, but I.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Would go, as would I? All right, look for us.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay. Our final bit of news and notes regards last
- 8:54Speaker 1: week's movie at Dog Lover's Guide to Dating. It premiered
- 8:58Speaker 1: number seventeen out of the top one hundred fifty cable
- 9:02Speaker 1: telecasts for January first, per Show Buzz Daily.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Are you surprised by those numbers?
- 9:11Speaker 1: I think New Year's Day is a hard day to
- 9:14Speaker 1: premiere movie. Oh yeah, just because there's so many sports
- 9:18Speaker 1: on that day. There's parade reruns. I'm guessing is that
- 9:22Speaker 1: only here in southern California where they would rerun the
- 9:25Speaker 1: Rose That's a great question. Wait a minute, The Rose
- 9:27Speaker 1: Parade wasn't even on January versus this year, right, it wasn't.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I am not surprised.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I think this didn't do as well as.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Obviously some of our countdown to Christmas movies. We don't
- 9:39Speaker 1: have the Wedding Veil numbers yet, but I would guess
- 9:41Speaker 1: that it didn't do as well as the Wedding Veil. However,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Hallmarks still kind of tops out most cable programming.
- 9:48Speaker 2: They still perform really well. I'm still in the top twenty.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I mean a lot of what they're behind was sports.
- 9:55Speaker 1: There were some other cable programming shows on that evening.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And I also am not sure how many people who
- 10:02Speaker 1: aren't dedicated Hallmark watchers are assuming that there would be
- 10:05Speaker 1: a brand new Hallmark movie one. Yeah, if you didn't
- 10:08Speaker 1: see that terrible commercials for it. Sorry, sorry, because this
- 10:13Speaker 1: was a Sunday night, which is weird, right because all
- 10:17Speaker 1: their other programming is now on Saturday back to Saturday nights.
- 10:20Speaker 2: They needed to get it in in January.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, whatever, all right, show a rerun. So that
- 10:27Speaker 1: brings us to more talk of a Dog Lover's Guide
- 10:29Speaker 1: to Dating and some feedback that we received on our
- 10:32Speaker 1: last episode. And look, you are welcome to email us
- 10:35Speaker 1: Megan and Wendy at gmail dot com. You can dm
- 10:38Speaker 1: us on Instagram. Let us know your thoughts. We will
- 10:42Speaker 1: keep them anonymous, but we're going to respond. Let me
- 10:47Speaker 1: name a few points that were made in regards to
- 10:49Speaker 1: our review. Yes, first, of what was called Woman on
- 10:51Speaker 1: Woman Crime, it was said that we attacked Rebecca Dalton's appearance.
- 10:58Speaker 1: What else were we accused of calling her another stereotypical
- 11:02Speaker 1: Hallmark blonde? What are your thoughts in response to this criticism?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Okay, so.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The segment in question, we commented that Recca Dalton resembles
- 11:15Speaker 1: Natalie Hall. I stand by that they look alike, and
- 11:18Speaker 1: not just because they're both blonde. I think they resemble
- 11:20Speaker 1: each other. They're both beautiful women. And we made the
- 11:23Speaker 1: comment maybe she should die he hair brown to stand out. No,
- 11:25Speaker 1: let me be very clear, this was in no way
- 11:27Speaker 1: attacking her appearance.
- 11:29Speaker 2: She's beautiful.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, we said we enjoyed her in this movie and
- 11:33Speaker 1: we wanted to see her stand out. We were not
- 11:36Speaker 1: placing her appearance above her performance. I agree intentionally if
- 11:41Speaker 1: that was how it came across. However, we didn't want
- 11:44Speaker 1: to see her get lost in a seat of actresses.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Now it's kind of a throwaway comment to tell her
- 11:49Speaker 1: to die her hair brown. Obviously, we're not like thinking
- 11:51Speaker 1: she should take the opinion of to review podcasters. Our
- 11:55Speaker 1: intent there was, Hey, we enjoyed you. We'd like to
- 11:59Speaker 1: see more of you on Hallmark. How can we make
- 12:03Speaker 1: sure that you don't just get lumped in with this
- 12:06Speaker 1: Corey Sevier co star mix?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Right, that was our intent. We're not those kind of people.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'm not here to attack someone's parents.
- 12:14Speaker 1: No, definitely not. And finally it was said that we
- 12:17Speaker 1: may have come for Corey Sevier's acting. Yeah, I'm the
- 12:21Speaker 1: one who said it. Yeah, I stand behind my comment.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I think he's a better dramatic actor than a comedic actor.
- 12:29Speaker 1: And by the way, this is a review podcast. I
- 12:32Speaker 1: think I'm entitled to say what I think about the actor. No, y'all,
- 12:38Speaker 1: this is not these say nice things about Hallmark Movies podcast.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And I think, okay, go ahead, I know what you're
- 12:43Speaker 1: gonna say. Well, all I was gonna say is we
- 12:46Speaker 1: in our show outline. The very first thing we discussed
- 12:50Speaker 1: is what we liked about these movies? Always, what do
- 12:52Speaker 1: we like about these movies? We're not here to right
- 12:56Speaker 1: Mark movies, right, But the other thing is how can
- 12:58Speaker 1: you trust us if we say this was a great movie,
- 13:01Speaker 1: we think you should watch it. We know that the
- 13:03Speaker 1: listeners of this podcast are not likely all watching all
- 13:07Speaker 1: fifty two weeks of Hallmark releases, and we have heard
- 13:10Speaker 1: feedback in our Facebook group that hey, we rely on
- 13:14Speaker 1: you guys to tell us what movies we should watch
- 13:16Speaker 1: or not watch. Our opinion means nothing. If all, we're
- 13:20Speaker 1: gonna come on here every weekend say that was good movie.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah it was the five stars.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah no, they're not all five stars. We know that
- 13:28Speaker 1: there's a lot of work that goes into these movies.
- 13:30Speaker 1: We celebrate the work that goes into these movies. We
- 13:32Speaker 1: have an entire podcast dedicated to bringing awareness of these movies.
- 13:38Speaker 1: We do not make this podcast as a joke. We're
- 13:41Speaker 1: not making fun of Hallmark movies. It is a lot
- 13:45Speaker 1: of time invested to sit down and watch a movie
- 13:49Speaker 1: and prepare notes about it and create a podcast, and
- 13:52Speaker 1: all of that goes into producing a podcast. We don't
- 13:55Speaker 1: do it to poke fun at Hallmark movies and the
- 13:57Speaker 1: people who make them. Right there, Anything else you'd like
- 13:59Speaker 1: to say about that? I mean, I would also like
- 14:02Speaker 1: to add, like we appreciate your feedback. I do, that's true. Oh,
- 14:06Speaker 1: we just wanted to clear this up because we did
- 14:08Speaker 1: feel like we did it is. We did not come
- 14:11Speaker 1: from a place of like woman on woman crime.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Right, So yeah, amen, Okay.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Let's move on.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Let's do a quick synopsis.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Of the Wedding Veil Expectation. All right, the Wedding Veil Expectations.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Avery and Peter try to keep the romance alive while
- 14:31Speaker 1: renovating an old house and juggling work, but everything takes
- 14:34Speaker 1: on a new perspective when Avery has a surprise for Peter.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Starring Lacy Shaper, Kevin McGary, Automiser, and Allison Sweeney. I
- 14:44Speaker 1: think it's important to say that for anyone new to
- 14:46Speaker 1: the series, the Wedding Veil Expectation is the first in
- 14:48Speaker 1: a second trilogy of movies. There was a Wedding Veil
- 14:52Speaker 1: trilogy that aired last January and February, starring each of
- 14:56Speaker 1: these three leading ladies, and now we're getting a second trilogy.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm wondering where we are in the Hallmark space time continuum.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's so it's like Star Wars, you know how Star
- 15:07Speaker 1: Wars had like they have like pre and then post
- 15:11Speaker 1: and like they're numbered, but it's all crazy like I have.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's like a big math equation to figure out which
- 15:17Speaker 1: Star Wars movie I'm watching. Don't tell us, we don't
- 15:21Speaker 1: take Hallmark seriously, We're just equating it to Star Wars.
- 15:24Speaker 2: So to me, this is the fourth movie in the franchise.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Would that be correct?
- 15:28Speaker 1: Absolutely? Okay. I would like to mention if you remember
- 15:33Speaker 1: The Wedding Veil was the most the twenty twenty two
- 15:38Speaker 1: original first one was the most non holiday Hallmark premiere
- 15:43Speaker 1: in over a decade. Wow, I didn't know that bit
- 15:46Speaker 1: of information.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I'm sure we shared it a year ago.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I yes, And I know that it held that top
- 15:52Speaker 1: spot overall right up until it was bumped by Three
- 15:55Speaker 1: Wise Men in Yeah, but I still think it's the
- 15:58Speaker 1: most watched non holiday movie. Yeah. Anyway, So The Wedding
- 16:02Speaker 1: Veil was directed by Peter Benson, who interestingly enough, has
- 16:06Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty acting credits, most notably to me
- 16:09Speaker 1: as Stacy's dad Edward McGill on the canceled Entirely Too
- 16:13Speaker 1: Soon series The Babysitters Club on Netflix.
- 16:16Speaker 2: That was canceled.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it was so good, it was Why did it
- 16:22Speaker 1: get canceled.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Netflix sucks. That's crazy, and it's I know that it
- 16:29Speaker 2: did well.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I know that it did well. My teenager is gonna
- 16:32Speaker 1: be really upset when she hears that.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Wow.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I don't remember him as the dad on there though, never.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Did I until I looked a little more carefully. But
- 16:41Speaker 1: he has twelve directing credits, including Lacey's own Sweet Carolina,
- 16:47Speaker 1: as well as twenty twenty two's When I Think of
- 16:49Speaker 1: Christmas and Color of My World with Love? Did you
- 16:53Speaker 1: see that he had taken over the director spot from
- 16:56Speaker 1: Terry Ingram. Terry Ingram had did the first three movie
- 17:00Speaker 1: and apparently he was unavailable to do this one, so
- 17:03Speaker 1: Peter Benson did it. I did try to look. IMDb
- 17:07Speaker 1: was not updated correct at all. I don't know if
- 17:10Speaker 1: Peter Benson then directed five and six, or if Terry
- 17:14Speaker 1: Ingram comes in and does that does those one, So
- 17:17Speaker 1: I guess we're gonna have to wait for next week's
- 17:19Speaker 1: credits or IMDb to update before we have that information right.
- 17:24Speaker 1: This was loosely based on the book There Goes the Bride,
- 17:27Speaker 1: As was the very first movie. Again, I think they're
- 17:30Speaker 1: just giving story inspiration credit because based on the brief
- 17:35Speaker 1: Amazon snapsis I'm reading of these books that there is
- 17:39Speaker 1: not a lot of comparison.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but they did draw inspiration from these.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Books, which is a four book series, but it's actually
- 17:50Speaker 1: since been renamed. Is that normal.
- 17:56Speaker 2: To rename novels. I don't think it's abnorm, especially in
- 18:00Speaker 2: the romance model.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Oh really? Yeah, so originally it was Wedding Veil Wishes,
- 18:06Speaker 1: And now we've got books titled Long Tall Texan, Second
- 18:09Speaker 1: Chance Hero Valentine, Texas, and Rocky Mountain Heat All's featuring
- 18:14Speaker 1: shirtless cowboys on their covers.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so weird.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I mean, I'm here for it.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Whatever else, I'll take a shirtless cowboys. Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 1: The Teliprit the teleplay was written by Judith Burg Sanderberg.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Do you think they're related, Uh?
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yes, I think they're sisters, dynamic sister duo writing team.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Cool. Yeah, they wrote the teleplay. They also wrote the
- 18:41Speaker 1: scripts for the first three movies, but another writer, Karen Berger,
- 18:46Speaker 1: joined them on this one, which I thought was so
- 18:48Speaker 1: funny because it Judith Burg Sanderberg and Karen Berger. Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I noticed funny that we also have Fiona Vroom reprising
- 19:00Speaker 1: her role as Avery's assistant and not big enough for
- 19:04Speaker 1: all for me. No, especially after her turn and three
- 19:07Speaker 1: wise Men and a baby. Yes, I was excited to
- 19:11Speaker 1: see her again. Yes, I would like them to give
- 19:15Speaker 1: her more to do. I would like to see her
- 19:17Speaker 1: in a lead role. Yeah, justice for the Redheads. Sorry.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Kevin McGary was filming When Calls the Heart in Vancouver
- 19:28Speaker 1: while he was also filming this movie. So apparently, like
- 19:31Speaker 1: I had, my Canadian geography is not great. But apparently
- 19:34Speaker 1: he had to get on an airplane and like fly
- 19:36Speaker 1: to Vancouver and Victoria. No, they're like very close to
- 19:42Speaker 1: each other. I swear I read airplane. Maybe they're okay.
- 19:46Speaker 2: They're both on the West coast of Canada.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Whatever, I'm gonna look for that article where it says
- 19:51Speaker 1: that he had to get on an airplane. I'm guessing
- 19:54Speaker 1: it's less than a hundred miles. Hold on, Like, Victoria
- 19:57Speaker 1: is an island, seventy six miles. The trip by car,
- 20:01Speaker 1: fairy or bus and fairy takes probently four hours each way, oh,
- 20:04Speaker 1: or a thirty five minute flight.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Hey, now, I told you, but there, Yes, it's a
- 20:10Speaker 2: it's like a a vegan.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, that's all I got.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Anything else, Okay, let's move on to first impression. All right,
- 20:20Speaker 2: you go first.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I was really hoping.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Kevin McGarry would drop the buston accent. Oh, I have
- 20:25Speaker 2: some thoughts on that.
- 20:27Speaker 1: My first impression was what's wrong with rose colored glasses? Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'll talk somewhere about that real quick. Yeah. Do you
- 20:36Speaker 1: consider yourself a glass half full? Kind of like? I
- 20:39Speaker 1: sure do? Yeah? I think you don't think I do,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but I sure do.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Well. Famously, you have told me that I'm a pessimist.
- 20:47Speaker 1: However I am.
- 20:48Speaker 2: You're a realist.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I know I am. All right, let's hop right into
- 20:57Speaker 1: what we liked about this movie. Listen, I'm gonna start
- 21:01Speaker 1: off at the top. I know a lot of people
- 21:03Speaker 1: didn't enjoy Kevin McGary's Boston accent, but I didn't hate it.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I liked it in the first movie, and I liked
- 21:09Speaker 1: it in this one.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Did you like it in the first movie? I like
- 21:14Speaker 2: a Boston accent?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yes, okay, And I don't even care it's a bad one.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I like it.
- 21:19Speaker 1: So I have to say I wrote this first impression
- 21:22Speaker 1: as I was watching the movie. Since watching the movie,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I have done my girls gone Hallmark due diligence, and
- 21:30Speaker 1: I've dug into some social media posts and read some articles,
- 21:33Speaker 1: and I have come around. I kind of feel.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Like the accent is an additional character in this movie.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Sure, did you happen to watch the interviews till the
- 21:45Speaker 1: very end? Yes? I did. Okay, Well, here's what's funny
- 21:47Speaker 1: is when I watched the movie, I turned it off
- 21:50Speaker 1: before that I figured you might, and then I see
- 21:54Speaker 1: all of these posts and I thought, what, how did
- 21:57Speaker 1: I miss this? And then someone posts did it on
- 22:00Speaker 1: Instagram and I went back and rewatched. Now that is
- 22:05Speaker 1: the highlight.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Of the movie for me, totally. When we're talking about
- 22:08Speaker 2: what we liked.
- 22:09Speaker 1: If you missed the brief little interview with Kevin and
- 22:13Speaker 1: Lacey who are playing Peter and Avery in this moment,
- 22:16Speaker 1: but they feel so real. I almost was waiting for them,
- 22:21Speaker 1: and they do break character at the end to break
- 22:23Speaker 1: character and talk about each other. But of course, if
- 22:26Speaker 1: you missed when she has asked what her favorite thing
- 22:29Speaker 1: about Peter is and she says his accent and they
- 22:32Speaker 1: both fall they I wonder a was that ad libs?
- 22:37Speaker 2: I had to because he was not expecting that he'd
- 22:40Speaker 2: like been over onto hers like crackiness so great.
- 22:45Speaker 1: It elevated the movie for me. Their relationship in that moment.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I loved that.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Do more of that. I could watch it over and
- 22:54Speaker 2: over that.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Five second clip, I agree, But then I also wondered, like,
- 22:58Speaker 1: what's the point of that?
- 22:59Speaker 2: Like, yeah, where were they being interviewed for? Yeah, I
- 23:02Speaker 2: had nothing.
- 23:03Speaker 1: They were in their clothes that they wore at the
- 23:06Speaker 1: mom's wedding, So it wasn't like, is it the wedding
- 23:09Speaker 1: videographer doing like perhaps you know, do you know what
- 23:13Speaker 1: I just pictured? No?
- 23:15Speaker 2: No, I know to you want no?
- 23:16Speaker 1: At Brandon and Kelly's wedding and they're.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Like interviewing every much. Oh yeah, yeah my husband is
- 23:23Speaker 2: rewatching I know to wanta right now all of a sudden, Yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 2: me and him should have a podcast.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I wondered that also, where was the scene
- 23:35Speaker 1: taking place?
- 23:35Speaker 2: I don't know, don't really care.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really funny, right, Yeah. I appreciated all
- 23:40Speaker 1: the aversions that Avery was having because of her pregnancy,
- 23:44Speaker 1: like the smell of Mason his coffee, and I just
- 23:50Speaker 1: it was very relatable. Back when I was pregnant fifteen
- 23:53Speaker 1: years ago, I remember being like grossed out by chicken.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yes, all kinds of weird.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I was very no sensitive. Yes, So, by the way,
- 24:01Speaker 1: I'd like to add that pineapple pizza is delicious. Agree.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I don't know why they were making like it's such
- 24:06Speaker 2: a big deal about it.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I do know it's one of those things people feel
- 24:10Speaker 1: very strongly about. But we regularly ordered pineapple pizza or
- 24:14Speaker 1: pepperoni and pineapple.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 24:16Speaker 1: When I was in Hawaii, I heard it a pepperoni
- 24:18Speaker 1: and pineapple pizza and they're like, that's actually how real
- 24:20Speaker 1: Hawaiians e their pizza. Oh really? And now I don't
- 24:22Speaker 1: know if this guy was blowing smoke, but I was like, yeah,
- 24:24Speaker 1: that's right. Oh, it's good. Overall, I liked reconnecting with
- 24:29Speaker 1: the ladies. Yeah, me too, seeing them together on screen.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I felt a nice warm anticipation going into this movie
- 24:37Speaker 1: because I enjoyed the original three. I find them very
- 24:41Speaker 1: comfortable and natural together on camera. I think the highlight
- 24:45Speaker 1: of this movie for me was their relationship the three ladies.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I wrote that too. I was glad that they had
- 24:53Speaker 1: kept them kind of intact, that they're still very much
- 24:57Speaker 1: involved in their everyday lives with phone calls and whatever.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And for me, a highlight is Alison Sweeney's character Tracy
- 25:04Speaker 1: because she just has these like throwaway lines where like,
- 25:07Speaker 1: oh no, I'm not She's.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Just such a hater.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and I love it.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I just really relate to her.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah, little thing. Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Loved Lacey's dresses. Loved her wardrobe. Oh my gosh, I
- 25:18Speaker 2: wrote that too, loved them. She just has like I
- 25:21Speaker 2: want to see her closet because she just must have
- 25:23Speaker 2: like this row of beautiful dresses.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I know. I was just like, who who dresses like
- 25:29Speaker 1: that every single day?
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'd love to?
- 25:31Speaker 1: I mean if I worked in the museum, I know.
- 25:33Speaker 1: But even even on her, like just in her casual wear,
- 25:37Speaker 1: she was like, dressed up great. You know.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I also thought they did.
- 25:41Speaker 1: They did. Goodbye Kevin McGarry too. He looked really good
- 25:44Speaker 1: in some sweaters.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He was, Yeah, it looked really nice.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And I went just another shout out to whoever picked
- 25:50Speaker 1: the wardrobes. The baby in the bow tie.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Almost killed me. So cute, so adorable.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yes, and that's very clearly a very young baby. Nicely. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I agree, I wonder whose baby that is. You may
- 26:03Speaker 1: recall a complaint we had about the first series of movies,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and that is we would call them on their selfie
- 26:08Speaker 1: taking Yes, and this one we see the shot of
- 26:11Speaker 1: the phone screen. Yes, the ladies, thank you very much.
- 26:14Speaker 1: They have heard our cry. Yes, because the first one
- 26:16Speaker 1: it was like they I don't know what they were
- 26:18Speaker 1: looking at like there it was out of folks. It
- 26:22Speaker 1: was weird, I do remember, Yes, So I was very
- 26:25Speaker 1: excited that they had a proper selfie in this one.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Did Peter's mom look so beautiful as a bride? Yes?
- 26:31Speaker 2: I thought she was looked lovely.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yes, and she was wearing the veil and it was
- 26:35Speaker 1: so yes, just pretty pretty pretty. This is just a
- 26:39Speaker 1: small little people may not have even seen this, but
- 26:44Speaker 1: there was a scene where Avery and Peter are out
- 26:48Speaker 1: on their like balcony or something at their house, which
- 26:50Speaker 1: looked like a big old castle, right, And the way
- 26:53Speaker 1: that it was shot was so gorgeous because there were
- 26:56Speaker 1: sun flares coming through the trees, and I was just like,
- 26:59Speaker 1: this is a donning shot. Good job, Peter Benson, Like
- 27:02Speaker 1: it was beautiful.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I really loved that house. Peter have family money.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Peter has family and family money.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I was like, why why why is
- 27:13Speaker 2: he working?
- 27:15Speaker 1: I did? I did really stressed out about his job.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I think it's because he really wanted to get art
- 27:20Speaker 2: into the Yes, he's passionate about what he does.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Are you ready to talk about what we wished for? Yeah?
- 27:27Speaker 2: I have an overarching wish. Oh, let's hear it.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And I don't think it's gonna come true. My wish
- 27:33Speaker 1: is that we don't get three babies in three movies.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I really hope so too, and not because I don't
- 27:39Speaker 1: like babies. I thought that was a very natural next
- 27:41Speaker 1: step for Avery and Peter. I expected that now. Allison
- 27:46Speaker 1: Sweeney's character in the first trilogy of movies was like,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not getting aware, I don't need the veil,
- 27:53Speaker 1: don't involve me in this. And now she's like, I'm
- 27:55Speaker 1: not having babies and so. On the one hand, I
- 27:58Speaker 1: like the symmetry of that, like that she is the
- 28:00Speaker 1: one who has to be brought along. On the other hand,
- 28:02Speaker 1: when we talk about what we want for Hallmark movies
- 28:07Speaker 1: and where we want the stories they tell to go,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I think it's okay that we tell a story of
- 28:15Speaker 1: a married couple who's child is by choice. Sure they
- 28:18Speaker 1: did it, and we wish you had married Christmas they
- 28:20Speaker 1: didn't have children. Maybe Yeah, so.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I feel like Autumn Racer is gonna have a baby
- 28:28Speaker 2: even though she's like.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Not ready, although we know we're at least a full
- 28:31Speaker 1: year in the future in the next movie.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I don't know that. I don't want three babies.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I don't know if they can replicate that story three
- 28:40Speaker 1: times over? Right? Yeah?
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yes, Now, would I potentially be interested in seeing something
- 28:47Speaker 2: in Allison Sweeney's characters story where it's.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Not necessarily she gets pregnant and has a baby.
- 28:52Speaker 2: It comes to parenthood in another way.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd be into that.
- 28:57Speaker 2: What else did you wish for?
- 28:59Speaker 1: I'm not sure that there was a lot of meat
- 29:02Speaker 1: this movie. I counted at least six storylines. Avery's job,
- 29:07Speaker 1: Peter's job, the handyman, the pregnancy, Grace's relationship, and then
- 29:14Speaker 1: like the friendships, right, and it was all those stories
- 29:19Speaker 1: didn't make like a complete movie for me? Do you
- 29:23Speaker 1: hear what I'm saying? It was like we got a
- 29:25Speaker 1: snapshot of like what real life looks like, you know,
- 29:28Speaker 1: like we have like the house falling apart and this
- 29:30Speaker 1: and that and whatever, but like, is there a story
- 29:35Speaker 1: there with that? I? Yes, And I wanted to say,
- 29:41Speaker 1: like focus on something more, make one of these things, right,
- 29:45Speaker 1: like make this the money pit, Make this the story
- 29:49Speaker 1: of Peter's mom, Right.
- 29:51Speaker 2: That's what I wanted.
- 29:52Speaker 1: That's where I felt like the real story could have been,
- 29:55Speaker 1: is like her budding relationship and how that affected Peter.
- 30:00Speaker 1: That's what I found like most compelling about the whole thing.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And it was just like such a blip in the
- 30:05Speaker 1: did you find yourself?
- 30:06Speaker 2: Going, Peter, get over yourself. She's an adult woman. Let
- 30:08Speaker 2: her find love.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yes, especially because like I try to keep thinking, like,
- 30:13Speaker 1: was Peter's dad in the first movie? Had he died
- 30:17Speaker 1: since then? Or was he not even around in that
- 30:20Speaker 1: first movie?
- 30:21Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And I read an interview with Kevin McGary that talks
- 30:24Speaker 1: about the accent and it says, you know, one of
- 30:27Speaker 1: the reasons he thinks the accent is important is it
- 30:29Speaker 1: gives some of his backstory. It presents him as this
- 30:32Speaker 1: like Bustonian, because we don't know a lot of Peter's backstory.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I thought it was really an interesting take on why
- 30:37Speaker 1: the accent is important because I have more to say
- 30:39Speaker 1: about the accent a minute, but I don't if we
- 30:43Speaker 1: know Peter's dad, it's I don't think so.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I think he's been gone for a while.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I just think it would have been a better
- 30:50Speaker 1: movie if they would have focused in on that, give
- 30:52Speaker 1: us some backstory more about like Peter's rocky relationship with
- 30:56Speaker 1: his dad. I mean they talked about it a little bit,
- 30:58Speaker 1: but he wanted to that scene where they were in
- 31:00Speaker 1: bed and he's like, I'm just trying to keep my
- 31:01Speaker 1: dad's memory alive or something.
- 31:03Speaker 2: He says thing to that, and I.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Was like, oh, yeah, that's the story I wanted to see. Yeah,
- 31:07Speaker 1: focus on the healing that needs to happen there as
- 31:10Speaker 1: he's about to become a father, right, Yes, I hear you.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And when I thought about go deeper on this, I
- 31:19Speaker 1: feel like one area they spent too much time. Was
- 31:22Speaker 1: there entirely too many lies for one attempted pregnancy announcement surprise. Yeah, okay,
- 31:28Speaker 1: there were too.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Many things in the way, Like at some point you
- 31:30Speaker 2: just need to be like, well, I really wanted this
- 31:32Speaker 2: fun moment, but I'm not going to wait three more
- 31:34Speaker 2: weeks to tell.
- 31:34Speaker 1: You that I'm having a baby, right, So.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Go deeper in a different direction. Yes, Yes, they relied
- 31:43Speaker 2: a little on the hijinks of that particular moment, perhaps
- 31:46Speaker 2: too much. Yes, but still that doesn't even make a
- 31:48Speaker 2: whole movie.
- 31:49Speaker 1: No, no, so take away like all the giving him
- 31:53Speaker 1: an even I mean, I know, I know it, just
- 31:56Speaker 1: there's nothing to grip onto.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I want to talk about the rose colored glasses.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Pot. I did not like how Peter kept referring to
- 32:04Speaker 1: Avery and her rose colored glasses. You know, they were
- 32:06Speaker 1: talking about the house falling apart and this and that
- 32:08Speaker 1: and whatever. I don't think it's a bad characteristic to have.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And it was almost like he was like needling in
- 32:13Speaker 1: her a little bit, like, oh, Avery and her rose
- 32:15Speaker 1: colored glasses. Again, I'm like, stop that got your wife, Yes,
- 32:20Speaker 1: don't make fun of your wife in front of other
- 32:22Speaker 1: people about a characteristic she has.
- 32:25Speaker 2: It's not cool. Well, and home renovations are stressful. Let
- 32:28Speaker 2: one person feel like, yes's not gonna work out? Right, fine,
- 32:32Speaker 2: it's not. Yeah, it as someone who's been.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Married for twenty years and have had home renovations done, like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: it's no good when you both are spun up over
- 32:41Speaker 1: like something. You gotta have one to balance the other. Yeah, right,
- 32:45Speaker 1: And what is Peter worried about? He's got money anyway, Like.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Clearly they're living in this castle that needs renovation. The
- 32:50Speaker 2: foundation needs.
- 32:51Speaker 1: To be fixed, dude, like that is a problem.
- 32:54Speaker 2: What are you gonna do?
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:55Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, okay, ready for do you see that?
- 32:58Speaker 1: I know I have one more for please. I also
- 33:02Speaker 1: wish that every conversation between Peter and Avery didn't include
- 33:05Speaker 1: her saying I don't want to fight. You're having a conversation,
- 33:09Speaker 1: nobody's raising their voice, nobody's really arguing, like you're having
- 33:14Speaker 1: not even really having a disagreement on things.
- 33:16Speaker 2: But she just kept saying like, I don't want to
- 33:17Speaker 2: fight with you. I don't want to.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Fight with you. I was like, you are not fighting you.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Stop it, Stop making something out of nothing.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, you need to have conversations and you need
- 33:30Speaker 2: to not have the same opinion about everything and figure
- 33:33Speaker 2: it out right now? Are you ready for you to
- 33:35Speaker 2: see that? I am, I have a potentially hot take. Okay,
- 33:38Speaker 2: I have no did to see that? So I just
- 33:40Speaker 2: have I have comment. I have one, But okay.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I didn't think Mason the Boss was a jerk until
- 33:46Speaker 1: very late in the movie. Oh yeah, I was like,
- 33:49Speaker 1: he he's a business person, this part of the business
- 33:53Speaker 1: isn't performing, and so he wants to do something else
- 33:56Speaker 1: that is going to perform right now? Was he touchy
- 34:00Speaker 1: and warm and fuzzy. No, he's a business person. He
- 34:03Speaker 1: was here to do a job. They were like, oh,
- 34:05Speaker 1: he's in such a jerk, and I was like, is
- 34:06Speaker 1: he No? I think I mean he was there to
- 34:09Speaker 1: do a job.
- 34:10Speaker 2: And I didn't think he was rude. No, Why don't
- 34:13Speaker 2: think he was rude either?
- 34:14Speaker 1: He just was gruff. Maybe sure, fine, he was hired
- 34:21Speaker 1: to have the museum perform better. And when she was
- 34:26Speaker 1: like I'm going to go to the media about whatever,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I was like, whoa girl, You're gonna get fired, Like
- 34:32Speaker 1: what are you doing?
- 34:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna go over his head. I was like, Oh
- 34:35Speaker 2: my gosh.
- 34:36Speaker 1: But wouldn't they so like their television spot for that,
- 34:40Speaker 1: like brought all these people. Wouldn't they have like done
- 34:43Speaker 1: that way earlier? Like I just feel they didn't have
- 34:46Speaker 1: the connection. But the painting had always been there. I
- 34:49Speaker 1: guess the veil hadn't been there, But why didn wouldn't
- 34:53Speaker 1: they talk about like, oh my gosh, this is so amazing.
- 34:55Speaker 1: We discovered this painting and we restored it and blah
- 34:59Speaker 1: blah blah whatever, and there's this magical veil that we
- 35:02Speaker 1: all wore, yeah, come out and see the painting. Yes,
- 35:07Speaker 1: but I don't think they had the TV connection to
- 35:09Speaker 1: come out and.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Oh that's right, that's right.
- 35:12Speaker 1: But yo, any yeah, who can get on the internet
- 35:15Speaker 1: and like contact your local media station.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Yes? Yes.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And by the way, I thought the media guy the
- 35:21Speaker 1: Boston whatever at one point I thought it was the
- 35:24Speaker 1: same guy as Grace's boyfriend. They looked so much alike.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I thought, like when they were watching the TV and
- 35:31Speaker 1: they're like, oh, this is so and so for and
- 35:33Speaker 1: I was like, wait, is that Grace's boyfriend?
- 35:36Speaker 2: It just me.
- 35:37Speaker 1: It wasn't okay, no, no, no, no no. Did you
- 35:39Speaker 1: see when they painted that bedroom purple?
- 35:42Speaker 2: I hated that purple.
- 35:44Speaker 1: That's a no for me. Dog like that six year
- 35:47Speaker 1: old's bedroom. Never.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I was like, why did they pick purple purple? I
- 35:53Speaker 2: thought the bedroom was beautiful before, so gross hated it.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I hate it. I was like, I hate this bedroom loud.
- 36:00Speaker 2: And those couches did not look comfortable.
- 36:03Speaker 1: No, I thought they were beautiful, but those were not.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Sit in front of the TV couches give me an
- 36:09Speaker 1: ugly sectional any day. Look, I will never be the
- 36:14Speaker 1: person who has a beautiful living room because we sit
- 36:17Speaker 1: on our couches. We lounge, we watch movies, we read.
- 36:20Speaker 1: My husband and I spent most of yesterday on the couch.
- 36:23Speaker 1: You put your feet on the couch and dot dots
- 36:25Speaker 1: on the couch. My couch is a little pilly because
- 36:27Speaker 1: we spend so much.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Time on the couch.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I understand. These ladies sure are able to travel
- 36:32Speaker 1: at the drop of a hat. They're just like boom
- 36:34Speaker 1: boop twice. Well is Autumn Resear's characters supposed to be
- 36:38Speaker 1: in Italy? Or where is she supposed to be? They
- 36:40Speaker 1: never really said, right, I don't I don't remember. And
- 36:43Speaker 1: Allie Sweeney's in Seattle, I don't know. That's a long
- 36:47Speaker 1: trip to go to Boston from Seattle. I don't pop
- 36:49Speaker 1: all the time like we just popped in. We thought
- 36:50Speaker 1: you whit here for the weekend.
- 36:52Speaker 2: They're just always there.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yo, That's what friends do. And this is the second
- 36:56Speaker 1: time I said yo. So if I say again, take
- 36:59Speaker 1: a dream, do yes? I expect you to come visit
- 37:02Speaker 1: me if you move away, and I agree to you.
- 37:05Speaker 2: I know. But they need each other a lot.
- 37:08Speaker 1: They're just like they're always talking about how busy they are. Look,
- 37:10Speaker 1: I think it's lovely. I would love it if a
- 37:13Speaker 1: friend heard that I needed them without me saying it
- 37:16Speaker 1: and showed up. I just think it's like when you
- 37:20Speaker 1: have three busy women, the ability for them to all
- 37:23Speaker 1: end up in the same place at the same time
- 37:24Speaker 1: happens a lot. Yeah, well, it sounds like they were
- 37:26Speaker 1: still trying to like figure out their next antiquing the
- 37:30Speaker 1: thing too, So, I mean, obviously her pregnancy got in
- 37:33Speaker 1: the way of their annual trip. But aren't we in
- 37:37Speaker 1: like years out from when they like, yeah, first found
- 37:40Speaker 1: the veil? Right now, they're gonna go to Greece Italy
- 37:45Speaker 1: well filmed in Greece the next well, yeah, why don't
- 37:49Speaker 1: they antique while they're in Greece? They need an actual
- 37:52Speaker 1: another trip to go to New Orleans. Why doesn't anybody
- 37:55Speaker 1: else in this Boston said movie have an accent? I
- 37:57Speaker 1: was wondering the same thing. Nobody the Handyman should at
- 38:02Speaker 1: least right. I think it does make Kevin McCary stand
- 38:06Speaker 1: out more. I liked the his you know, reason behind
- 38:11Speaker 1: it being important to him. It just is noticeable that
- 38:15Speaker 1: it's not a single other accent, not one, not one.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I mean, like like my favorite like Boston movie of
- 38:21Speaker 1: course is goodwill hunting. No, you need a Southy accent.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Oh the town, the town, that's it. Yeah, everybody's got
- 38:27Speaker 1: a Southy accent.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I just love it. I just love it. Yeah, sorry,
- 38:32Speaker 2: I should move there.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Would you rate this movie?
- 38:35Speaker 2: I gave it four stars? Oh three and a half
- 38:38Speaker 2: or two for two of you being more generous. I
- 38:40Speaker 2: just thought it was enjoyable.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I think it felt like a warm, cozy hug somebody
- 38:44Speaker 1: that was revisiting, like, yeah, it is funny to me
- 38:48Speaker 1: that how the Veil doesn't play like a huge part
- 38:55Speaker 1: and in these movies going forward? Yeah, well this were
- 39:00Speaker 1: you surprised that the veil is still bringing people together? No,
- 39:06Speaker 1: because if it's magical, did all its magic go away?
- 39:10Speaker 1: I just was I was surprised that they are still
- 39:13Speaker 1: using that as a plot piece. Like, who's it gonna
- 39:15Speaker 1: bring together in the next movie? Movie?
- 39:17Speaker 2: We've seen it in the previous but you know, every
- 39:19Speaker 2: movie's gonna have an extra love story.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I am okay, it's fine. I just who's traveling with
- 39:26Speaker 1: this veil so much? If it was so special, why
- 39:28Speaker 1: is it like She's like, you know, i'd bring it.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I you know, I told you i'd bring it back
- 39:33Speaker 1: like in your suitcase, like it's so special, like it's
- 39:38Speaker 1: so old and fragilely, Yeah, it's and they're just throwing
- 39:41Speaker 1: it over their arm in a plastic garment bag and
- 39:43Speaker 1: it just doesn't seem realistic to me, but it's still
- 39:46Speaker 1: I enjoyed it four stars. Coming up for Girls Gone
