- 0:06Speaker 1: Jim Kramer may have set up Solana in a very
- 0:09Speaker 1: good way. Today, I'll break it down for you. My
- 0:10Speaker 1: name is Small Para. Welcome back to the show. Let's
- 0:12Speaker 1: get started. I do want to thank our sponsor as Tangum.
- 0:15Speaker 1: This is a place where you guys can get your
- 0:16Speaker 1: own self custody wallet going. And if you're not doing
- 0:19Speaker 1: self custody, you should get into that. It's a very
- 0:22Speaker 1: easy process with Tangum. All you have to do is
- 0:24Speaker 1: just visit their website use our link down below. It's
- 0:26Speaker 1: going to give you a little bit of a discount
- 0:28Speaker 1: and you can start, you know, moving some assets on there.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You don't have to go overboard, but I think you
- 0:32Speaker 1: will start to learn self custody is actually pretty cool.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Check it out and let me know what you guys think.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Hey, listen, I wanted to bring back a guest who
- 0:40Speaker 1: has been on our show before, and that is Joe
- 0:42Speaker 1: McCann coming in from Asymmetric.
- 0:43Speaker 2: How are you.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I'm well, thanks for having me back.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, good to see you.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So Joe, let's get into a few points here. I
- 0:51Speaker 1: had mister mcclu gone yesterday Canary Capital. We did a
- 0:56Speaker 1: nice show with him, and he said something to me
- 0:59Speaker 1: that I was a little bit surprised at, and he
- 1:01Speaker 1: said he thought that Solana would not reach its all
- 1:05Speaker 1: time high in this market.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Again, what's your opinion? I think I know where it's going.
- 1:10Speaker 4: To be, But what do you what's your I mean
- 1:12Speaker 4: that makes me even more bullish, because you know, I
- 1:16Speaker 4: think when people and everybody's a bit euphoric, that's when
- 1:19Speaker 4: things don't happen. And look, there's there's so many tailwinds
- 1:24Speaker 4: behind Solana. Where do I start? Number one, let's focus
- 1:27Speaker 4: on the institutional side. There's an ETF that's already approved
- 1:30Speaker 4: with STAKING, the first ETF ever to be approved with Staking.
- 1:33Speaker 4: There are a number of other ETFs that are likely
- 1:36Speaker 4: going to be approved at some point this summer. You
- 1:38Speaker 4: have the Solana Treasury. Companies like Defight, Development, Course Corp,
- 1:43Speaker 4: Soul Strategies and UPEXI all trading well above their respective mnads.
- 1:49Speaker 4: There's a there is an institutional interest in Solana for
- 1:54Speaker 4: building on Solana. So you know, I think contrary to
- 1:58Speaker 4: popular belief, I think a lot of folks thinks the
- 2:00Speaker 4: asset managers and banks and institutions are only about building
- 2:03Speaker 4: on the theory and it's simply not true. Franklin, Templeton, Fidelity,
- 2:08Speaker 4: some of the biggest asset managers and banks in the
- 2:10Speaker 4: world are also building on Solana. In fact, for Fidelity
- 2:14Speaker 4: of months ago had job descriptions for Solana engineers. Right, So,
- 2:17Speaker 4: I think there's institutional tailwinds. But I think also if
- 2:20Speaker 4: you look at the fundamentals across all blockchains and layer twos,
- 2:24Speaker 4: Solana continues to dominate. It's not even close in terms
- 2:28Speaker 4: of effectively every KPI that one would be of interest
- 2:31Speaker 4: to evaluate the value of a blockchain.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, and I think to your point, is there one
- 2:38Speaker 1: very strong ecosystem Now it's starting to make its way
- 2:41Speaker 1: into traditional finance, which will only strengthen it as a
- 2:44Speaker 1: whole coinbased assets came in and they're dropping an adding
- 2:48Speaker 1: support for pumped off fund This will be on the
- 2:50Speaker 1: Salona network.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Obviously we were talking about that.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But when you look at this, do you feel like
- 2:56Speaker 1: this proves out that meme coins are not over just yet?
- 3:01Speaker 3: Oh?
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I've been saying this for years now.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I get asked repeatedly, you know, because I had a
- 3:07Speaker 4: was the first institutional fund manager to buy meme coins
- 3:10Speaker 4: in twenty twenty three, and it was a huge driver
- 3:12Speaker 4: of our performance for that year. People ask me, is
- 3:15Speaker 4: it over and I'm like, think about meme coins like
- 3:17Speaker 4: software releases. Right, So you've got a one dot zho,
- 3:19Speaker 4: a two point oho, a three point zero, a four
- 3:21Speaker 4: point zero. That's effectively what happens with meme coins or frankly,
- 3:25Speaker 4: any sort of narrative in crypto in general. And I
- 3:28Speaker 4: think one of the most interesting things about pump out
- 3:31Speaker 4: Fund is that number one, they're attempting to enable you know,
- 3:36Speaker 4: streamers and content creators to have these kind of creator
- 3:40Speaker 4: coins they can monetize directly as opposed to just getting
- 3:43Speaker 4: paid you know, through Twitch or whatever. But two, and
- 3:46Speaker 4: I think this gets back to the original question. You
- 3:49Speaker 4: just had five hundred million dollars raised on chain, not
- 3:53Speaker 4: one hundred percent of it, but most of it was
- 3:54Speaker 4: raised on chain in less than twelve minutes. So there's
- 3:56Speaker 4: now a very strong case study for capital formation at
- 4:01Speaker 4: global scale.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Pain on Solana and pump was the first one to
- 4:05Speaker 3: really do that.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's a key factor. I think when
- 4:09Speaker 1: you look at especially the future of content, especially if
- 4:12Speaker 1: we start to see streaming payments integration into this, where
- 4:15Speaker 1: we do see creators going kind of direct and bypassing
- 4:19Speaker 1: the middleman. That'll be a huge factor going I think
- 4:22Speaker 1: into the future. Another area that's probably going to grow
- 4:25Speaker 1: is the area around betting. Now you look at the
- 4:28Speaker 1: performance of Polymarket. Now we've got a situation maybe where
- 4:33Speaker 1: Polymarket is starting to I think I guess Polygon to
- 4:36Speaker 1: a certain extent, Polymarket getting a lot of open blue
- 4:39Speaker 1: lane now that they are out from underneath this investigation.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What is your opinion on this? Is Solona potentially losing
- 4:46Speaker 1: maybe the gambler side of the market, which are these
- 4:49Speaker 1: small bets like the ten to one hundred dollars range
- 4:53Speaker 1: into what's happening over on the Polygon chain. Do you
- 4:56Speaker 1: think there's any concern there on that.
- 5:01Speaker 4: No, not really, and I think part of it is
- 5:03Speaker 4: Number one, you know, hats off to poly Market for
- 5:05Speaker 4: building such an amazing business, but these prediction markets have
- 5:09Speaker 4: existed in other venues before blockchains existed. And now I
- 5:14Speaker 4: think given that, you know, poly market has raised money
- 5:18Speaker 4: at a unicorn level valuation that is now peaked the
- 5:22Speaker 4: interest likely of a bunch of entrepreneurs and innovators that
- 5:25Speaker 4: are going to look to build the better, faster, cheaper,
- 5:28Speaker 4: stronger version of Polymarket. So I think builders today will
- 5:33Speaker 4: look at what platform are going to be building on,
- 5:36Speaker 4: and that's likely going to be Solana. And the data
- 5:39Speaker 4: actually supports this. If you look at the latest Electric
- 5:41Speaker 4: Capital Developer survey from last year, the majority of the
- 5:44Speaker 4: growth is all happening with Solana. So if anything, poly
- 5:47Speaker 4: market success is you know, validating the market. And there's
- 5:52Speaker 4: going to be other competitors in the in the space,
- 5:54Speaker 4: and I think that they will be building on Salona.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Okay, so you think they're going to build on Slana.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Of course, right here you can kind of see the
- 6:00Speaker 1: Department of Justice sends their investigations with Polymarket. That's going
- 6:03Speaker 1: to be a good signed form and likelihood is you
- 6:06Speaker 1: see it right there, Polymarket Foundation, we're going to see
- 6:10Speaker 1: a token launch. You feel like it's going to happen
- 6:12Speaker 1: on Solana. What do you think the valuation is going
- 6:14Speaker 1: to go to on this thing?
- 6:17Speaker 4: Well, one, I don't know if they'll launch their token
- 6:19Speaker 4: on Solana. I think it would be wise to do that,
- 6:22Speaker 4: but they may have some technical reason and or you know,
- 6:27Speaker 4: affinity to doing it on Polygonal or Etheroeum in general,
- 6:32Speaker 4: where does it trade? I have no idea. I mean,
- 6:35Speaker 4: if you look at what happened with pumped out Fun. Now, granted,
- 6:38Speaker 4: pumped out Fun is probably, you know, the fastest company
- 6:42Speaker 4: to ever get to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
- 6:46Speaker 4: There's a lot of excitement around that deal. There's a
- 6:50Speaker 4: lot of excitement around polymarket.
- 6:51Speaker 3: So I would.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Anticipate that their token launch likely trades up pretty high
- 6:56Speaker 4: depending on how they price it.
- 6:58Speaker 3: As well as the allocation.
- 7:00Speaker 4: You want to be careful when you're crafting these things
- 7:03Speaker 4: as the CEO of a company to ensure that you're
- 7:05Speaker 4: not upsetting your community, or your investors, or the potential
- 7:09Speaker 4: people that are purchasing the token. So it's a delicate
- 7:11Speaker 4: balancing act.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, I would agree with that. Listen, it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: going to play out in a very unique way. We're
- 7:18Speaker 1: going to be watching it very closely. Another area that
- 7:20Speaker 1: is leading on Solana is what's happening with X stocks
- 7:23Speaker 1: And I'll kind of zoom in on that right there,
- 7:25Speaker 1: just to give you an example of some of the
- 7:26Speaker 1: distribution there by bit seventy million, you get it. There's
- 7:30Speaker 1: a list right there, kracking, ok X, Phantom, Soulflare, etc.
- 7:33Speaker 2: This role rolls.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Into two hundred million users that have access to x stocks.
- 7:40Speaker 2: This is huge.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Do you think that maybe Solana being first, I should
- 7:46Speaker 1: say within the Salona ecosystem, being first is a win
- 7:50Speaker 1: or do you think the role in of what we're
- 7:52Speaker 1: seeing around arbitrum and you know, Robinhood obviously and most
- 7:56Speaker 1: likely other sophisticated trading firms going on chain as well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: do you think there's going to be a demand across
- 8:03Speaker 1: all market so you think Solona could maybe take an
- 8:05Speaker 1: edge on this.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Coinbase launched base and it's been wildly successful as a
- 8:11Speaker 4: revenue generating product for coinbase. Coinbase is a publicly traded company.
- 8:14Speaker 4: They need to drive value to their shareholders. Robinhood is
- 8:18Speaker 4: also a publicly traded company that needs to drive value
- 8:20Speaker 4: to their shareholders. It makes sense that they would also
- 8:23Speaker 4: then do an L two where they can capture all
- 8:26Speaker 4: the fees from the sequencer. Now, if you flip that
- 8:29Speaker 4: to the ones that you showed on the you know
- 8:30Speaker 4: that screen from Phantom to okax to crack and et cetera,
- 8:34Speaker 4: that's a different approach because even though crack and Yes
- 8:38Speaker 4: is a private company and ok x is yes a
- 8:40Speaker 4: private company, a for profit company. I think there's a
- 8:43Speaker 4: delineation between we want to control the experience to generate
- 8:48Speaker 4: revenue versus we want to be enabling our network of
- 8:51Speaker 4: users to gain access to these stocks. And I think
- 8:56Speaker 4: that that approach is going to serve folks really well
- 8:59Speaker 4: because the amount of kind of liquidity and trading capabilities
- 9:03Speaker 4: that are only possible on Solana will ensure that more
- 9:07Speaker 4: and more people are getting access to these things versus
- 9:10Speaker 4: having to go through say a US based entity or
- 9:14Speaker 4: a ky seed approach through like a you know, a
- 9:16Speaker 4: coinbase or Robinhood.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think the non KYC scenario that plays
- 9:22Speaker 1: into this, you know, especially for international, that's.
- 9:24Speaker 2: A huge factor.
- 9:25Speaker 1: If you look at defive excuse me, DeFi lama right here,
- 9:29Speaker 1: hyper Liquid kind of lea leading the space right there,
- 9:31Speaker 1: but Jupiter and Drift right.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Behind it in reality.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So could this be a scenario where Jupiter starts to
- 9:38Speaker 1: get an edge here and makes a run at hyper Liquid.
- 9:42Speaker 1: What do you think the future of Jupiter is going
- 9:44Speaker 1: to be in terms of growth?
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 9:47Speaker 4: Look, I mean you have to give credit to the
- 9:49Speaker 4: hyper Liquid team. They've built an amazing product, They've captured
- 9:52Speaker 4: the mind share, they did amazing air drop. Nothing but
- 9:56Speaker 4: respect for that team and what they've built. I think
- 9:59Speaker 4: some of the upc changes to Solana's core, as well
- 10:03Speaker 4: as the validators that are going to be running on
- 10:05Speaker 4: the network, will make the benefit of hyper Liquid being
- 10:10Speaker 4: an l one that hasn't effectively an non chain order
- 10:13Speaker 4: book baked into it irrelevant. I think you will start
- 10:16Speaker 4: to see some of the things that are coming in
- 10:18Speaker 4: the future for Solona and these purpse exchanges, whether it's
- 10:21Speaker 4: Jupiter Drift, et cetera, are going to be able to
- 10:24Speaker 4: utilize these new capabilities so that you don't have the
- 10:27Speaker 4: kind of friction with an on chain order book that
- 10:29Speaker 4: you have today on Solana. That's going to change in
- 10:32Speaker 4: the future. So I think it's less about, you know,
- 10:35Speaker 4: is Jupiter Drift going to make a run for hyper
- 10:37Speaker 4: Liquid just based on you know, this token is stocks
- 10:40Speaker 4: or some other asset. It's more about the fundamental changes
- 10:43Speaker 4: to the validator clients and the core software on the
- 10:46Speaker 4: network that's going.
- 10:47Speaker 3: To enable any decks to be able to compete.
- 10:49Speaker 1: With hyper Yeah, that's the thing I think that's exciting
- 10:52Speaker 1: to me is that we're going to see really a
- 10:54Speaker 1: leveling of that playing field out there, and obviously this
- 10:57Speaker 1: would be huge for Solana. Other things you know we've
- 11:00Speaker 1: been talking about here on the show is these treasury companies.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Now there's a handful of treasury companies percolating up on Salon.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Here's Cantor talking about this right there, dfdv UPEX you
- 11:12Speaker 1: mentioned it earlier, right there, Hotel in CNQ. When you
- 11:16Speaker 1: look at that and the fact that Cantor is saying
- 11:19Speaker 1: these things are undervalued, like they're undervalued, do you believe
- 11:24Speaker 1: that is the case right now? And if so, what
- 11:28Speaker 1: do you think the market is going to do to
- 11:29Speaker 1: respond to that?
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yeah? So, I mean I think the market is going
- 11:34Speaker 4: to tell you if it's over undervalued. And the way
- 11:37Speaker 4: that these treasury companies are valued is based on what's
- 11:39Speaker 4: called an m NAB, the multiple against their net asset value.
- 11:42Speaker 4: And so you know, micro Strategy is the canonical example
- 11:45Speaker 4: of this. They trade around a two x m NAB.
- 11:49Speaker 4: You know, they got roughly seventy billion dollars worth a bitcoin.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Their market cap.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Has roughly double that.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Right, Are these Salona treasury companies undervalued relative to their
- 11:59Speaker 4: m nabs? Again, it depends on your view of what
- 12:02Speaker 4: they can do in the future. Because the key difference
- 12:04Speaker 4: with a Solana treasury company versus a Bitcoin one is bitcoin.
- 12:08Speaker 4: They only basically have access to the capital markets to
- 12:11Speaker 4: get cheap debt or do you know, air offerings to
- 12:14Speaker 4: go buy more bitcoin, which is great, but there's no
- 12:17Speaker 4: operating company. Because Solon is a proof of sake network,
- 12:21Speaker 4: these companies like DFDV and Soul Strategies, et cetera, will
- 12:25Speaker 4: stake the soul they have to earn that yield, and
- 12:28Speaker 4: so the market is likely to go into value these
- 12:31Speaker 4: companies based on what I see as a Salona hurdle rate.
- 12:35Speaker 4: That means the price of soul going up coupled with
- 12:38Speaker 4: the inflation rate. If they're able to generate yield above
- 12:42Speaker 4: that hurdle rate, the market should actually price them higher.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I think that's going to be the case for Bitcoin,
- 12:47Speaker 4: Ethereum and Solana. You're going to have a winner takes
- 12:50Speaker 4: most in each one of these. I don't know which
- 12:52Speaker 4: one it will be, but ultimately each of these companies
- 12:55Speaker 4: is going to be focused on accumulating as much of
- 12:58Speaker 4: you know that cryptocurrency.
- 13:00Speaker 3: You know. My obvious opinion here is.
- 13:02Speaker 4: That Bitcoin is going to remain the asset and Solana
- 13:05Speaker 4: is going to be the infrastructure. And if you see
- 13:08Speaker 4: Solana as being the infrastructure, you will have the ability
- 13:11Speaker 4: for folks to invest Solona into the Web three community
- 13:15Speaker 4: protocols and projects and generate that additional yield.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Well, which is huge. I think a lot of people
- 13:21Speaker 1: haven't put their heads around this. That's a seismic shift
- 13:25Speaker 1: in how you would invest in companies, especially in the
- 13:27Speaker 1: way they're going to perform with all of that happening.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And you think about where Seeker is right now, You're
- 13:34Speaker 1: already seeing five hundred sign up.
- 13:36Speaker 2: This is right here just on the.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Salon of Mobile Hackathonic. This is probably going to launch
- 13:39Speaker 1: with a just a heap looad of DAPs. You know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: in terms of overall do you think that this is
- 13:45Speaker 1: still underestimated right now, the Seeker and the ecosystem that
- 13:50Speaker 1: might bring I do.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I mean, I've been saying this for years that I
- 13:54Speaker 4: think mobile is going to be the thing that onboards
- 13:57Speaker 4: billions of people into crypto, and it's because it's like
- 14:00Speaker 4: going to be mostly abstracted away. And the beauty of
- 14:02Speaker 4: the Salona phones is they have the signing capabilities of
- 14:06Speaker 4: your wallet baked into the device. Furthermore, you mentioned the
- 14:10Speaker 4: Bonk air drop. That kind of drove a lot of
- 14:13Speaker 4: excitement around the saga, that's true. And what's fascinating about
- 14:18Speaker 4: that is it's a new way of going to market
- 14:21Speaker 4: for new.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Projects and protocols. Right.
- 14:23Speaker 4: They could just air drop you know whatever to various
- 14:26Speaker 4: people's wallets, or they could be like, we're going to
- 14:28Speaker 4: do an air drop on the Seeker and now we're
- 14:31Speaker 4: going to have you know, front page real estate so
- 14:33Speaker 4: to speak for our application. I think this is just
- 14:37Speaker 4: a wild and very innovative way of improving one's go
- 14:40Speaker 4: to market because you're also getting a very targeted audience
- 14:43Speaker 4: of people who are owning the Salona phones.
- 14:46Speaker 1: And I think it also in a way helps Slana
- 14:48Speaker 1: in general because it opened up the treasure trove of
- 14:52Speaker 1: how marketing for Web three could be done. You were
- 14:55Speaker 1: there what in November of twenty three calling this exact
- 14:59Speaker 1: same thing, Bok.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It's that simple.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So it's right if you compare Bank and what's happening
- 15:06Speaker 1: over on on chain summer with Base, I mean, which
- 15:09Speaker 1: one do you think does better right now in this
- 15:13Speaker 1: hyperactive market, especially with Seeker getting ready to launch next month.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Bonk It's that simple.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Here's why so number one, the Bonk team, and it's
- 15:24Speaker 4: a team. They are product people, their marketers, their community members,
- 15:30Speaker 4: and Bonk has you know, just under a million wallet
- 15:33Speaker 4: holders today. That's those three things combined make them a
- 15:38Speaker 4: valuable startup. But they're not a startup. They're a team
- 15:42Speaker 4: of you know, Bonk community members that continue to ship
- 15:45Speaker 4: products and do events and do marketing and do and
- 15:48Speaker 4: raise awareness for the broader Salona community. And their their
- 15:52Speaker 4: recent success has to do with their pumped out fund competitor, right, So,
- 15:56Speaker 4: they created Let's Bank and in the past couple of
- 15:59Speaker 4: weeks they've completely taken almost all the market share away
- 16:03Speaker 4: from pump dot Fund, and in doing so, they're generating
- 16:07Speaker 4: you know, close to a million dollars a day in fees,
- 16:10Speaker 4: and those fees are then you know, about half of
- 16:12Speaker 4: them go to buying and burning bank, which of course
- 16:15Speaker 4: reduces the supply. But more importantly, and I think this
- 16:18Speaker 4: is a key thing to underscore for why bank is
- 16:21Speaker 4: so powerful in the ecosystem. They're not just selling all
- 16:25Speaker 4: of their soul and getting you know, buying and burning bank.
- 16:27Speaker 4: They're taking some of that and staking it. They're actually
- 16:30Speaker 4: contributing back to the network and helping secure the network
- 16:34Speaker 4: and show people that hey, we're aligned with the long
- 16:36Speaker 4: term vision of Solana. Yes, of course we're going to
- 16:39Speaker 4: go buy and and burn bank as well, but we're
- 16:42Speaker 4: not just say, dumping hundreds of millions of dollars worth
- 16:45Speaker 4: of Salona on the open market. So from my perspective,
- 16:48Speaker 4: the momentum behind Bonk as a kind of product company,
- 16:52Speaker 4: if you will, even though they're not a company, coupled
- 16:55Speaker 4: with how the community has just consistently rallied behind them,
- 16:59Speaker 4: I think gets ridiculously underpriced.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Well, I'm looking at the chart right now, deck screener.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I mean, this thing's up two hundred percent, really if
- 17:07Speaker 1: you look back all the way just.
- 17:08Speaker 2: To April.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Into July right now, and it still hasn't really kind
- 17:13Speaker 1: of hit its stride just yet, even though Solana has moved.
- 17:17Speaker 2: How this correlates to.
- 17:18Speaker 1: The traditional markets with bitcoin trading on a high here
- 17:22Speaker 1: this week at one twenty three could get interesting. Another
- 17:25Speaker 1: area that I think is going to get interesting is
- 17:27Speaker 1: the Figital concept, because this is something that the company Figitals.
- 17:31Speaker 2: They've talked about this before.
- 17:33Speaker 1: The whole idea was is that they are now releasing
- 17:36Speaker 1: a connection to a poked x Pokemon and this could
- 17:40Speaker 1: play into the seeker, So we might see possibly another
- 17:45Speaker 1: strategy where another company might take the same route of.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Where this might go.
- 17:50Speaker 1: For where the Seeker was with I should say where
- 17:54Speaker 1: the saga was with Bonk, the seeker could be with
- 17:56Speaker 1: maybe a new project like Figital.
- 17:59Speaker 2: So I'm intrigued.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And let's be clear.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I mean, Pokemon Go was one of the most successful
- 18:06Speaker 4: you know, mobile apps ever and it caused a serious
- 18:10Speaker 4: amount of interest from you know, Pokemon fans and players
- 18:16Speaker 4: and then new people all together. And I think that
- 18:19Speaker 4: that might be the case with them doing this thing
- 18:22Speaker 4: with the secret phone as well.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well you got it right here, Solona. Secret holders
- 18:28Speaker 1: now are going to be able to get a free
- 18:29Speaker 1: Pokemon card and people and this is a big community guys,
- 18:32Speaker 1: So think about this as a physical and a digital component.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Maybe this is the point where it something goes viral
- 18:40Speaker 1: on Solana. I mean viral, not in our crypto bubble,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but truly viral. Maybe Pokemon is going to be the
- 18:47Speaker 1: one that goes there. The other thing I wanted to
- 18:49Speaker 1: hit on is what's happening over on x Grock is
- 18:55Speaker 1: now generating and I guess we're going to have AI
- 19:00Speaker 1: agents within that that looks very similar to Luna right
- 19:04Speaker 1: right there, which is kind of interesting, And there's gonna
- 19:07Speaker 1: be a whole bunch of them right there. So when
- 19:09Speaker 1: you look at that, uh, Salana integration, do you think
- 19:12Speaker 1: we see maybe some kind of Slana integration with X
- 19:16Speaker 1: especially around agents.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Look, they recently hired a very famous, you know, product
- 19:22Speaker 4: person out of Silicon Valley named Nikita as their head
- 19:25Speaker 4: of product and he is an advisor to Solana. Now
- 19:29Speaker 4: that does not guarantee that Solana is integrated into something
- 19:33Speaker 4: like x okay, but this this guy knows product really
- 19:37Speaker 4: really well and has been interested in advising Solana for
- 19:40Speaker 4: quite some time. I do think that the real time
- 19:44Speaker 4: nature of X slash Twitter requires a blockchain that is
- 19:49Speaker 4: real time, and today that really only is Solana. Now
- 19:54Speaker 4: behind the scenes, you can also see the wallet u
- 19:58Speaker 4: creation management. It's being abstracted away. So you have companies
- 20:02Speaker 4: like Privy that was just acquired by Stripe. You've got
- 20:05Speaker 4: a nice asymetric portfolio company like Turnkey that's enabling you know,
- 20:09Speaker 4: wallets and private key management to be abstracted away. This
- 20:12Speaker 4: makes the user experience way easier for normies. So right,
- 20:16Speaker 4: there is a potential that you could see Solana being
- 20:20Speaker 4: the backing to something like this on X and you
- 20:22Speaker 4: may not even know it exists if.
- 20:24Speaker 1: You look at virtuals right now. We've been covering virtuals
- 20:27Speaker 1: for quite some time. It's been a little bit sideways here,
- 20:29Speaker 1: but I think this is still one of the most
- 20:31Speaker 1: undervalued and you look at the whole ecosystem. And this
- 20:34Speaker 1: is my point from the topic of today's show, is
- 20:37Speaker 1: that is Solana setting up maybe to replace some of
- 20:42Speaker 1: the big tech companies out here. I've got a clip
- 20:44Speaker 1: I want to play for you and get your opinion.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Let's go to this clip.
- 20:49Speaker 5: We had to make the announcement that we were gonna.
- 20:52Speaker 6: Move on, but there was a working version of this.
- 20:54Speaker 6: This wasn't just vaporware.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Oh no, no, no, no, of course.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there's is a narrative out there that yeah, it
- 21:00Speaker 1: was demo ware only.
- 21:02Speaker 6: No, it was you marketed it though you showed this.
- 21:07Speaker 6: How did that happen?
- 21:08Speaker 3: Really? And I'm not the expert here.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Well, again, as Craig said, we thought we were going
- 21:12Speaker 1: to deliver it by the end of the year.
- 21:13Speaker 6: You're also Apple, I mean, you've got more engineers, more cash.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Why can't. Why couldn't you make it work?
- 21:19Speaker 5: I mean, this is this is new technology.
- 21:21Speaker 6: Sirie should be as good, if not better than the competition.
- 21:25Speaker 3: It should be.
- 21:26Speaker 6: That's that's it's not right now.
- 21:27Speaker 5: That's certainly our mission. Yeah, but that's that's that's our mission.
- 21:30Speaker 5: But we want to do it the right way.
- 21:31Speaker 6: When's the right way going to come along?
- 21:33Speaker 5: Well, in this case, we really want to make sure
- 21:34Speaker 5: that we have it very much in hand before we
- 21:37Speaker 5: start talking about dates for obvious reasons, and will.
- 21:39Speaker 6: That include these features that you had previously announced and more?
- 21:43Speaker 6: I mean, is this the effort to make Siri this
- 21:47Speaker 6: more interactive AI companion?
- 21:49Speaker 5: Well, I mean, look, on the one hand, I would
- 21:51Speaker 5: I would love to dish about my enthusiasm for our
- 21:55Speaker 5: future plans, but that's exactly what we don't want to
- 21:57Speaker 5: do right now.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:58Speaker 6: To be honest, I'm not really big user of Apple Intelligence.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I'm using a lot of your competitor's products.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It's important to realize our strategy is a little bit different.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Than some other people.
- 22:08Speaker 6: What about other devices? To do that? You probably saw
- 22:11Speaker 6: that Johnny Ives linked up with open Ai to create
- 22:14Speaker 6: some sort of future AI device.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 22:17Speaker 2: What that is.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Is this a space that Apple's looking at, something that
- 22:21Speaker 6: is more personal maybe you wear it glasses.
- 22:25Speaker 1: All right, So they got put on the hot seat.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's of course FEDERICKI from Apple, one of the key
- 22:31Speaker 1: product guys over there. What do you think is gonna
- 22:34Speaker 1: this is gonna look like in the next few years.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Look, Apple is probably the best hardware company on the planet.
- 22:46Speaker 4: They're not good at software historically, and if you just
- 22:49Speaker 4: go back ten to fifteen years to the Apple Maps
- 22:53Speaker 4: debacle where it was just it was the wrong addresses
- 22:57Speaker 4: the directions. Yeah, historically his Historically Apple is not great
- 23:02Speaker 4: at software, They're really good at hardware. And so I
- 23:06Speaker 4: do think that something like Solana and the Seeker is
- 23:10Speaker 4: not meant to you know, disrupt or take over Apple.
- 23:15Speaker 4: More importantly, Seeker is going to force the hands of
- 23:20Speaker 4: people like Apple and Google to enable crypto signing capabilities
- 23:24Speaker 4: on the device. So when you do face ID today
- 23:26Speaker 4: on your iPhone, you could there's crypto. You know, APIs
- 23:30Speaker 4: in there if they just don't open it up to developers.
- 23:32Speaker 4: So eventually they may do that, especially with all the
- 23:36Speaker 4: regulations that are getting passed this year around crypto. I
- 23:39Speaker 4: think it's not a matter of if, it's when. And
- 23:41Speaker 4: in that scenario, Apple and certainly Google would both benefit
- 23:45Speaker 4: from this massive wave of new types of technologies. And again,
- 23:49Speaker 4: because Apple is so focused on user experience, they have
- 23:53Speaker 4: to go with a chain that enables a seamless experience.
- 23:57Speaker 4: That chain is Salona.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Well, and you look at the strategies what
- 24:02Speaker 1: we've seen with Android and with Samsung. Look at how
- 24:06Speaker 1: fast they were able to position in the market against
- 24:09Speaker 1: And again that's Samsung that's opening up their element, especially
- 24:13Speaker 1: around the development and new davs and expanding the ecosystem.
- 24:17Speaker 1: So I would agree with you there is a big
- 24:19Speaker 1: opportunity here. Last clip I have for you, and then
- 24:23Speaker 1: we'll get we'll get into your opinion on this one,
- 24:25Speaker 1: because this is kind of the crux of the show.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Let's go to Jim Kramer.
- 24:29Speaker 7: For the past month or so, Apple's been trading sideways,
- 24:32Speaker 7: basically hugging the Twitter doar level. There are renewed concerns
- 24:35Speaker 7: about the Apps Store two, and now we need to
- 24:39Speaker 7: worry about what the numbers will look like when Apple
- 24:41Speaker 7: reports again at the end of July.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Now write this down.
- 24:48Speaker 7: That means down about twenty points from here, I certainly
- 24:51Speaker 7: don't want to see it. Revisit that level.
- 24:53Speaker 3: It's something we.
- 24:53Speaker 7: Talked about, by the way, at our Chapel Trust.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Meeting later this earlier this week.
- 24:58Speaker 7: That's the level, but for some reason the stock gets clobbered.
- 25:01Speaker 7: You know what, Let's back up the truck at one
- 25:03Speaker 7: hundred and eighty, which is why I'm simply not ready
- 25:05Speaker 7: to give up on this one.
- 25:08Speaker 5: That's the level.
- 25:10Speaker 2: All right?
- 25:11Speaker 1: So did Kramer just doom Apple at one hundred and eighty?
- 25:15Speaker 1: And I mean if you look at all the things here, no, Ai.
- 25:18Speaker 1: You know they've got a fatigued hardware line to your point,
- 25:21Speaker 1: great hardware makers, but a fatigued line. And you've got
- 25:24Speaker 1: all of these projects and companies and tech nipping at
- 25:28Speaker 1: their heels. No longer are they small, Solana. What the
- 25:32Speaker 1: potential is with secret may show the path for someone
- 25:35Speaker 1: like an Android, a Samsung, and a whole plethora of
- 25:39Speaker 1: you know, phonemakers that would say, hey, yeah, we're going
- 25:41Speaker 1: this direction and blockchain is going to be the answer here.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Do you think that has doomed Apple's future here?
- 25:49Speaker 4: No, I would never bet against Apple. I mean, number one,
- 25:52Speaker 4: their corporate balance sheet has enormous amounts of cash on it,
- 25:56Speaker 4: and so you know, I think the the kind of
- 26:02Speaker 4: let's go back a few months when you know, there
- 26:05Speaker 4: was the executive at Apple that was saying like, you know,
- 26:09Speaker 4: we're going to be moving away from potentially from Google
- 26:11Speaker 4: for search because of the AI stuff, and Google stock
- 26:14Speaker 4: got hammered, and since then Google has ripped right back.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I think any of these kind of headlines are really
- 26:19Speaker 4: for driving fast money traders. And to be clear, Apple
- 26:23Speaker 4: is a favorite short of hedge funds when they're long
- 26:26Speaker 4: say Meta or Tesla or something else as a pair trade.
- 26:30Speaker 4: So I think, you know, betting against Apple long term
- 26:33Speaker 4: probably a bad idea that I think the doomerism of
- 26:36Speaker 4: a company like Apple is just misguided. Will they have
- 26:41Speaker 4: some potential struggles, yes, but that has been the case
- 26:44Speaker 4: for decades, and I think they'll be just fine longer term.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Well, I think they've got a position, and you know,
- 26:51Speaker 1: obviously their struggles on you know, the Apple vision. Now
- 26:56Speaker 1: we've seen xraol, they've launched out with a whole new
- 26:59Speaker 1: vision of where and what.
- 27:00Speaker 2: We may see as wearables.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Then of course you have the gaming side of crypto,
- 27:05Speaker 1: Solana being the gaming chain you know, Apple not really
- 27:09Speaker 1: playing into that, and yet we've got you know, probably
- 27:13Speaker 1: well look at Shaga right here. G Force now twenty
- 27:15Speaker 1: bucks a month, Xbox Cloud nineteen, Shaga ten bucks.
- 27:19Speaker 3: You know.
- 27:19Speaker 1: So that's just an example, and you're talking about billions
- 27:22Speaker 1: of gamers guys out there in the market. This is
- 27:25Speaker 1: a huge opportunity. Do you think that cloud gaming is
- 27:30Speaker 1: one going to consistently be cheaper on Solana? And if so,
- 27:35Speaker 1: why wouldn't Solona just win in that alone?
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 27:40Speaker 4: So, actually, when I worked at Microsoft and the Cloud
- 27:42Speaker 4: and AI organization years ago, I was privy to some
- 27:46Speaker 4: of the teams that were doing this for Xbox. I
- 27:49Speaker 4: will say that streaming video in and of itself is
- 27:52Speaker 4: an incredibly non trivial engineering exercise. Streaming video games is
- 27:57Speaker 4: just as hard, if not harder. And so if you're
- 28:00Speaker 4: going to supplant the current infrastructure for say streaming video
- 28:05Speaker 4: games with a Web three technology, you would need it
- 28:08Speaker 4: to be something like Solana.
- 28:10Speaker 3: In the future.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Solana has a significant number of upgrades that are coming
- 28:13Speaker 4: that are going to enable it to be incredibly fast,
- 28:17Speaker 4: enabling effectively a Web two style experience. So if you
- 28:20Speaker 4: have the real time streaming of the video content from
- 28:23Speaker 4: your video games, but the game playing and any of
- 28:27Speaker 4: the kind of assets or weapons, etc. That people may
- 28:31Speaker 4: be consuming or trading or using within the games. Solana
- 28:34Speaker 4: will enable that in the future. I think Solana is
- 28:37Speaker 4: the chain that's going to enable real time experiences in general,
- 28:41Speaker 4: and video games is certainly one of.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Those interesting Listen, Joe, it's always fun to have you
- 28:46Speaker 1: on the show, and thanks so much for letting us
- 28:48Speaker 1: pick your brain.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Appreciate you stopping in.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Thanks again, my pleasure.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You bet all right, you guys, if you're we're going
- 28:54Speaker 1: to have a lot more content of obviously around Solana
- 28:56Speaker 1: and many other projects that we of course dive into here.
