  Speaker 1: the songs already, and and he's going to do the

  Speaker 1: Yeah, and I just met him for the first time

  Speaker 1: in Brisbane. Like these lights, those lights, I'm like, oh

  Speaker 1: my god, I can't find there's like you know, I'm like,

  Speaker 1: there's so many chairs. I found myself a room. That's

  Speaker 1: it's the meet and greet room. But it's like, okay,

  Speaker 2: That's a little bit, but I looked more comfortable in

  Speaker 3: I had to turn my lights on you because thunderstorms

  Speaker 2: It's still quite humide, but it's nice.

  Speaker 3: So it's saving to having to wash the car. Do so,

  Speaker 3: tell me about Boulevard of Eyes. How did you guys start?
• 3:17
  Speaker 3: What was you're coming together as a uh formation between
• 3:21
  Speaker 3: your market Yeah.
• 3:23
  Speaker 2: It was.
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: It was kind of crazy. So I was, you know,
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: I have my solo music project too. And during COVID,
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: I was asked to perform for Global Green, this environmental charity,
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: and it was a virtual show at the Troubadour in
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: LA because it was virtual so basically you perform in
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: front of a camera, there's no audience, and every the
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: audience was online. And then Mark performed that show as
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: well with another band, and so you know, all the
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: performers got tickets online. You know, it's online to watch
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: the full show online. And and it was like an
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: eclectic different styles of music and I was like, oh,
• 4:15
  Speaker 1: there's one one one metal band and that's the band
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: that Mark played in. And after that he reached out
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: to me and asked if if I would be down
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: to collaborate on a song with him, and I'm like sure,
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: So then he sends me like five riff ideas that
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: picked one of them, and then I started and and
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: and then back and forth, like I started writing melodies
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: and lyrics to it, and I emailed him and then
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: emailed me back, uh, you know, more stuff, and so
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: back and forth through emails. We were just we wrote
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: that first song that's called Lightning Strikes twice, and from
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: that we you know, we got uh to to an
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: offer from a label, and then we released UH two
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: epis after that, and and the the weird thing, it
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: was all happening during COVID, so we don't play any
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: like I know, it's I mean with technology nowadays, you know,
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: like I have I have my music software, yes his
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: and yeah, record in his house. I can record in.
• 5:29
  Speaker 3: Mind and myself, so I know, it's like you can
• 5:33
  Speaker 3: have band like in differentouts of the country and it.

  Speaker 1: Works and and and then it's not until we shot
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: a music video together that I met him in person.

  Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, so so but then when things started
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: to reopen, we get some show offers and and we're like, oh, well,
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: now we need a band, you know, and we can't.

  Speaker 1: You know, we used to call ourselves Klodchrhill Rev Medic,
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: you know, just because it was just the two of us.
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: And and then I brought in my daughter who's a
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: kick ass drummer and New Zealand. He's New Zealand, but
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: he's you know, he lives in California now, and and
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: Kevin and and Mark brought in Kevin the guitar player.
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: So we brought them in. We invited them to jam
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: on the same day. Uh, we get a rehearsal studio
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: and it just clicked, and which is really cool that Yeah,
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: so that was the band. And then we played a
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: couple of shows like that as a band, still called
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: Cloud Rev Medic, and we're like, we gotta find a name.
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: We gotta And then so Boulevard of Ice came because uh, yeah,
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: it's a we have a song called Boulevard of Ice.
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: But it's also like it was the perfect mix between
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: you know, the the meaning of like the lyrics and
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: and kind of the inner like the more spiritual inner searching,
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: like you know, the Boulevard of Eyes. I don't know
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: how it had like a good and then we.
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: Even I guess in the sense of how you guys
• 7:18
  Speaker 2: come together.
• 7:19
  Speaker 3: On your online like you like a bull of oard
• 7:21
  Speaker 3: of desires watching in it, you know it.
• 7:23
  Speaker 2: Just yeah, transp that too, so it's very cool.

  Speaker 1: So yeah, and then we we researched it online and

  Speaker 1: we couldn't find any band that name.

  Speaker 2: The thing anywhere taking it.

  Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, and so that's that. That's how we yeah,

  Speaker 1: and then and then that's how we were born. And

  Speaker 1: then we started playing shows more and more and and
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: here we are in Australia now.

  Speaker 2: So that's incredible. That's a great trajectory.

  Speaker 3: So like, so nineteen twenty twenty, really you guys started
• 7:52
  Speaker 3: out and have just been kicking goals ever since.

  Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, and how wout.

  Speaker 2: Your daughter now? I would she now?

  Speaker 1: She's nineteen now?

  Speaker 3: Oh still baby, My baby's nineteen as well. Yeah, the

  Speaker 3: oldest is twenty five, but yeah, they're still they're still young.

  Speaker 3: So yeah, but fourteen fifteen when she started out with

  Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, I don't I can't count, Yeah, I don't,

  Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, I mean it's crazy, time flies.

  Speaker 1: a big difference, you know, between fourteen and nineteen. Massive,

  Speaker 3: It's you know, they're little people, such a small amount

  Speaker 3: of time, and so much happens in you know, five

  Speaker 3: years to us is not a lot, but.

  Speaker 3: So totally it's nice that she's had that direction, I

  Speaker 3: guess for a mom. And she obviously likes to have

  Speaker 3: been the band and do a thing and yeah, you

  Speaker 3: think her own stuff that Oh she's just happy doing
• 8:52
  Speaker 3: this for now with you guys yourself.

  Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, I mean she loves she's so passionate
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: about drum. She's also part of two other bands. She
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: drums every day for hours. She she just loves it.

  Speaker 1: So it's it's it's amazing to see, you know, both
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: of my kids they're so passionate about what they do
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: that it's it's just amazing to see.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, it is, isn't it when some of they're locked
• 9:18
  Speaker 3: in and you don't have to push it's just the
• 9:20
  Speaker 3: passion that you support it. Yeah, absolutely, yeah, And it's

  Speaker 3: it's cool that they take off the mom and dad.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it makes it happy.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, influences there absolutely. So how have you been liking

  Speaker 2: Australia so far?

  Speaker 3: You've just been getting tow around with Robin seeing parts

  Speaker 3: of the country and yeah.

  Speaker 1: You've been. I've been really Like that's why I'm tired

  Speaker 1: today because yesterday it was my first day ever in Sydney,
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: so I walked around everywhere. You know, you get steps
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: ups and down in different different areas, and so today
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: I think I overdid it yesterday and like I can't
• 9:57
  Speaker 1: set my legs. I got to take it easy.

  Speaker 2: But it's a lot when you're walking around.

  Speaker 3: But it's but the city is like that, you can't

  Speaker 3: really it's easier to walk than it is to jump

  Speaker 3: on public transport or drive.

  Speaker 1: I like to walk because that's how I feel like,

  Speaker 1: that's how I see things. Yeah, Like I don't want

  Speaker 1: to be in the car or in the you know,

  Speaker 1: in any transportation. I just want to I love to walk.

  Speaker 1: I'm from, especially.

  Speaker 3: The city like or Daling Harbor in that area. It's

  Speaker 3: very much designed for walking around central Yeah.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been, Yeah, because I did the same thing

  Speaker 1: in Melbourne and I was like okay.

  Speaker 3: before you come you come back to Melbourne. You're spending Yeah,

  Speaker 1: I'm going to New Zealand just for two days and

  Speaker 1: then I fly to Melbourne and then we have one

  Speaker 1: one rehearsal with the drummer and then we kick off

  Speaker 1: the tour the next day. So it's gonna be this

  Speaker 1: is gonna be full on, yeah.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're two weeks three weeks.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been two weeks with I can't even I

  Speaker 1: can't even count anymore, like so yeah, no, it's been

  Speaker 1: it's been a while.

  Speaker 3: And usually the way I rested them, but it's never

  Speaker 3: in like you know, logical order, like you fly one year.

  Speaker 1: Yeaheah, exactly, crazy exactly.

  Speaker 3: So you're gonna be hard for Christmas and looking forward

  Speaker 1: Yeah, especially because after that tour, I have three events

  Speaker 1: different part of the US because I do art and

  Speaker 1: fashion as well like my own life, so I have

  Speaker 1: I have a Yeah, I fly home for two days

  Speaker 1: and then I fly to Miami, and then I fly

  Speaker 1: to New York and Chicago and then I'm home. So

  Speaker 1: then I'm really home. On the mid December so then

  Speaker 1: I'll be home for the holidays and all this. But

  Speaker 1: it's all great. I'm not complaining because because.

  Speaker 3: It's all yeah, especially creating and doing all your exactly.

  Speaker 2: Your art, the people and the joy it. Yeah, it's awesome.

  Speaker 1: and and never been to Australia, so I'm so stoked
