Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Sarah's Day's Emotional Breakdown
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Kate Torber and coming up on today's show, the truth
- 0:12Speaker 1: about Tammy Hembrough's co-parenting relationship. But first, Sarah's day has
- 0:17Speaker 1: been praised for candidly sharing the realities of caravanning with
- 0:20Speaker 1: her family of five. The OG influencer had an emotional breakdown.
- 0:25Speaker 1: after discovering the luxury caravan had no oven to reheat
- 0:28Speaker 1: her kids' home-cooked meals. So if the only catch is,
- 0:31Speaker 1: this holiday was part of a gifted trip from Titanium Caravans. Yeah,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I would have loved to be a fly on the
- 0:37Speaker 1: wall of their office when this vlog dropped, because it
- 0:39Speaker 1: was entitled, We Tried Caravanning With Three Kids And I
- 0:43Speaker 1: Had An Emotional Breakdown.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So.
- 0:45Speaker 1: off the bat, it doesn't particularly paint caravanning with your
- 0:49Speaker 1: young family in a very favorable light. My worst nightmare
- 0:52Speaker 1: would be camping quickly followed by caravanning. So when I
- 0:55Speaker 1: heard Sarah's day was going on this trip with her family,
- 0:58Speaker 1: bearing in mind that she has a son that's one
- 1:00Speaker 1: years old, plus two other young kids, I was like,
- 1:03Speaker 1: there is no way I would ever want to do that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And I was kind of interested to see how it
- 1:07Speaker 1: went because I've seen these caravans before Titanium Caravans actually
- 1:12Speaker 1: sponsored the block and the block contestants lived in them
- 1:15Speaker 1: for a couple of months as well as Scott Cam.
- 1:17Speaker 1: And they looked like amazing caravans.
- 1:19Speaker 3: So I'm like, oh, maybe if it's a luxury caravan,
- 1:23Speaker 3: you might.
- 1:23Speaker 1: A lot of the time these luxury caravans are loaned
- 1:26Speaker 1: out to families who have vlogging channels where they're road
- 1:29Speaker 1: tripping around Australia or in different countries. And my husband
- 1:32Speaker 1: loves watching them. And quite often the families will pump
- 1:35Speaker 1: up how incredible these caravans are. So you can see
- 1:38Speaker 1: why potentially they thought this was a good opportunity to
- 1:41Speaker 1: work with Sarah and her family. The partnership was first
- 1:44Speaker 1: promoted in early January on Titanium Caravan's Instagram, which has
- 1:48Speaker 1: over 63,000 followers. So they posted a happy snap of Sarah,
- 1:52Speaker 1: her husband Kurt, and their three kids in front of
- 1:54Speaker 1: one of their luxury caravans with the caption, Welcome to
- 1:57Speaker 1: the Titanium family, Sarah, Kurt, Fox, Malachi, and Harlow. Now
- 2:01Speaker 1: in the comment section, there were already a few envious people.
- 2:04Speaker 1: One wrote, I want to join the family with crying
- 2:06Speaker 1: face emojis. And I think that's because there was a
- 2:09Speaker 1: bit of confusion around what the partnership actually was. Some
- 2:12Speaker 1: people thought perhaps they'd been given the caravan. I can
- 2:15Speaker 1: see why people thought that because a similar thing happened
- 2:18Speaker 1: a couple of Christmases ago when Sarah's Day gave Kurt
- 2:21Speaker 1: a speedboat. It was a very luxe speedboat, probably cost
- 2:24Speaker 1: a couple of hundred thousand dollars. But he had previously
- 2:27Speaker 1: been working with the brand. So everyone's like, oh, that
- 2:30Speaker 1: he got it for free, which he didn't.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Well, that is the.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Issue when influencers don't disclose partnerships properly. It leads to
- 2:36Speaker 1: a lot of confusion. Now, friend of the podcast Influencer
- 2:39Speaker 1: Updates AU, she reshared the photo and questioned whether this
- 2:43Speaker 1: was a paid partnership as influencer Chloe Fisher also partnered
- 2:47Speaker 1: with Titanium last year. As soon as I saw Sarah
- 2:50Speaker 1: posting live from her caravan trip, I knew that there
- 2:53Speaker 1: was some partnership going on between her and Titanium. However,
- 2:56Speaker 1: it became more apparent later. what the deal actually was
- 3:00Speaker 1: in the vlog because Sarah and her family were greeted
- 3:03Speaker 1: by two members of the team and given a tour
- 3:05Speaker 1: of the caravan.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And she actually did shed some light on the partnership
- 3:09Speaker 1: in the comment section under the YouTube video. So there
- 3:11Speaker 1: was a follower who was confused because they thought that
- 3:14Speaker 1: she had purchased the caravan from titanium. Sarah ended up replying,
- 3:19Speaker 1: we didn't buy one. We just borrowed this. You really
- 3:22Speaker 1: think I would purchase such a big investment piece without
- 3:24Speaker 1: researching or even going caravanning with my family. No, we
- 3:28Speaker 1: borrowed this for seven days. I've noticed this trend of
- 3:31Speaker 1: Sarah giving her followers a bit of attitude when they
- 3:34Speaker 1: don't agree with her or question.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Her over things.
- 3:37Speaker 1: But I feel like this comment was a fair one
- 3:39Speaker 1: considering clearly there was either a paid partnership element to
- 3:42Speaker 1: this deal or contra. And as an influencer, you are
- 3:46Speaker 1: obliged to disclose that partnership. And it clearly wasn't disclosed
- 3:49Speaker 1: clearly enough if people were confused. Yeah, because you could
- 3:52Speaker 1: just explain the partnership.
- 3:53Speaker 3: In a friendly manner.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I mean, it looked like this was a genuine fan
- 3:56Speaker 1: of hers because the person ended up writing back.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Like, I'm so sorry. I hope my message didn't come
- 4:01Speaker 3: across rude.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now that we are all up to speed on how
- 4:04Speaker 1: this partnership worked, let's go into what actually went down
- 4:08Speaker 1: in this vlog because it was an entertaining one. So
- 4:12Speaker 1: she started the vlog by prefacing that this would be
- 4:14Speaker 1: her only negative comment about the trip.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Side note, it wasn't. Let's take a listen to what
- 4:20Speaker 3: she said.
- 4:21Speaker 4: The only negative thing I'll say is we get one
- 4:24Speaker 4: Christmas holiday and I was thinking like.
- 4:26Speaker 1: A resort with a pool, with a bar where you like.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Swim up and order mocktails. Instead, we are going caravanning.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The comment about only getting one Christmas holiday was interesting
- 4:38Speaker 1: because Sarah has already got a trip lined up in
- 4:41Speaker 1: February and last year we spoke in depth about all
- 4:44Speaker 1: her different holidays overseas. There was that controversy when she
- 4:48Speaker 1: pulled Fox, her son, out of school. to take him
- 4:50Speaker 1: to Fiji. So I was like, well, I mean, my
- 4:53Speaker 1: sympathy for you isn't massive when you have multiple holidays
- 4:56Speaker 1: to go on. And I mean, a lot of families
- 4:58Speaker 1: would absolutely love to take their kids caravanning for a
- 5:01Speaker 1: week in a free caravan.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Well, particularly in a luxury caravan. The thing is she
- 5:05Speaker 3: went on to preface that she grew up.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Caravanning and camping a lot, and she's not afraid of
- 5:10Speaker 1: getting dirty. It's not because she thinks that she deserves
- 5:13Speaker 1: this bougie holiday, but it's that because she's a mom,
- 5:16Speaker 1: her day-to-day life is already centered around feeding kids, cleaning,
- 5:20Speaker 1: making beds.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Doing laundry.
- 5:22Speaker 1: So when she goes on a holiday, she wants someone
- 5:24Speaker 1: else to do that for her, which I do get.
- 5:27Speaker 1: As a mom, the logistics of caravanning to me just
- 5:30Speaker 1: sound horrendous. Even in a luxury caravan, it looked like
- 5:34Speaker 1: a nightmare doing the bedtime routine. I mean, you're in
- 5:37Speaker 1: one living space. I mean, I can definitely sympathize with
- 5:40Speaker 1: Sarah on that regards because I am someone who, as
- 5:44Speaker 1: soon as I became a mom, I was like, we
- 5:46Speaker 1: must abide by this routine. Like it was my only
- 5:49Speaker 1: way to get a bit of control around the situation.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And when that is taken away from you, you do
- 5:54Speaker 1: feel quite hopeless, which is I think what we saw
- 5:56Speaker 1: unfold during this vlog.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Now, when Sarah and her family arrived at the camping grounds,
- 6:02Speaker 1: as we mentioned, the team from Titanium were there to
- 6:04Speaker 1: show them how the caravan's features work. And it was
- 6:08Speaker 1: kind of awkward because the man was there explaining it
- 6:11Speaker 1: to them, but she started vlogging and saying, oh, my
- 6:13Speaker 1: toxic trait is that when people explain things to me,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it goes in one ear and out the other. And
- 6:18Speaker 1: it kind of just seemed a little bit disrespectful because
- 6:20Speaker 1: he was, you know, maybe he thought she'd film it like, oh, here's,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you know, let's have a little bit of a tour. Anyway,
- 6:27Speaker 1: it did become apparent that she wasn't listening to this
- 6:29Speaker 1: guy at all, because in the next scene, we see
- 6:32Speaker 1: her in tears upon realizing that the oven in the
- 6:34Speaker 1: kitchen was was in fact a dishwasher.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I'm just feeling overwhelmed.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I tried to be really organized and I prepped all
- 6:49Speaker 4: these frozen meals for us. This sounds so dumb that
- 6:53Speaker 4: I'm crying, but three kids, one who can't walk, and
- 6:56Speaker 4: Malachi's just been going off all day having tantrums.
- 6:59Speaker 2: So I'm feeling really overstimulated. Anyway, I prepped all of
- 7:03Speaker 2: our dinners. I thought this was an oven and it's
- 7:05Speaker 2: a dishwasher. So now it's six o'clock. My kids are
- 7:09Speaker 2: starving and grumpy. I don't know what to do for dinner.
- 7:11Speaker 4: If you know, if you have young kids and when
- 7:13Speaker 4: they're hungry, like you need to feed them right then
- 7:15Speaker 4: and there.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Anyway, so now I'm going to have to make another
- 7:17Speaker 2: plan for those dinners because I can't heat them up.
- 7:21Speaker 1: What I didn't get was there was a microwave there.
- 7:24Speaker 1: So why couldn't she just microwave the food? Someone raised
- 7:27Speaker 1: that in the comment section and she replied saying that
- 7:29Speaker 1: they don't use a microwave in their household.
- 7:32Speaker 3: So she kind of felt uncomfortable. That does ring a bell.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I remember when they moved into their house and had
- 7:37Speaker 1: it completely redone in her kitchen, they got this massive
- 7:40Speaker 1: oven and then also a steamer and everyone's like, where's
- 7:42Speaker 1: the microwave? She seems very anti-microwave. God, I don't think
- 7:45Speaker 1: I could operate. with a toddler without a microwave. Like
- 7:48Speaker 1: I literally put everything in the microwave for him.
- 7:51Speaker 3: How did you feel watching that clip?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Because for me, I couldn't help but feel really sorry
- 7:57Speaker 1: for her. She looked really helpless in it and absolutely
- 8:00Speaker 1: beside herself.
- 8:00Speaker 3: You could tell she was at.
- 8:01Speaker 1: The end of her tether and I have been there before.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Like I knew exactly how she was feeling. So I
- 8:07Speaker 1: definitely felt sorry for her. But then there was this
- 8:10Speaker 1: other part of me thinking, well, this whole trip has
- 8:14Speaker 1: been paid for. And there is a solution. You could
- 8:17Speaker 1: just put the food in the microwave. I think it
- 8:19Speaker 1: was more of a case of her losing the control
- 8:21Speaker 1: that she normally has at home. And this is how
- 8:23Speaker 1: I like to cook my healthy meals. And the fact
- 8:26Speaker 1: that she'd prep them all, I mean, that would have
- 8:27Speaker 1: been incredibly frustrating. But as I was sitting there as
- 8:31Speaker 1: someone who often uses a microwave, I was like, just
- 8:33Speaker 1: bung them in the microwave, love. Well, there was also
- 8:35Speaker 1: this portable induction stove that they could have used. But
- 8:38Speaker 1: Sarah went on to say that the titanium people didn't
- 8:41Speaker 1: give them the right pots and pans to use so
- 8:44Speaker 1: I thought that was an interesting little dig as well
- 8:47Speaker 1: yeah I mean the whole thing was just uncomfortable knowing
- 8:49Speaker 1: that it was part of a paid partnership and watching
- 8:51Speaker 1: it all unfold and then also choosing to keep that
- 8:54Speaker 1: portion in the vlog that's what I said to my
- 8:56Speaker 1: husband I said you know fair enough have a bit
- 8:58Speaker 1: of a meltdown if you want to film it film
- 9:00Speaker 1: it whatever but then when you go to edit it
- 9:02Speaker 1: maybe think how would the brand feel if this was
- 9:06Speaker 1: included and also sort of Laying a bit of blame
- 9:09Speaker 1: on the brand, giving them the wrong.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Pots and pans.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Well, I'm guessing there weren't any stipulations that the brand
- 9:13Speaker 1: had to approve the video because sometimes when you do
- 9:16Speaker 1: paid partnerships, the brand has to sign off on it.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But maybe because it was a contra deal, there weren't
- 9:22Speaker 1: as many strict rules. It was clear that Sarah was
- 9:25Speaker 1: already preempting how the meltdown could have come across to
- 9:28Speaker 1: her followers because she said this.
- 9:31Speaker 5: The last thing I want to do is be ungrateful
- 9:33Speaker 5: and a spoiled brat. I know this is going to
- 9:36Speaker 5: get twisted.
- 9:36Speaker 6: But again, I've been on social media for 13 years,
- 9:40Speaker 6: being my honest, authentic self.
- 9:42Speaker 4: And the last thing I'm going to do is come
- 9:43Speaker 4: on here and put on a show.
- 9:46Speaker 3: This is a vlog.
- 9:47Speaker 5: This is my real life.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It's interesting that she had the foresight to see how
- 9:51Speaker 1: this could potentially be misconstrued, but then she.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Chose to keep in the clip.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I think because she knows that a lot of mums
- 9:59Speaker 1: follow her and while there will be people that take
- 10:02Speaker 1: it a different way, there will also be a lot
- 10:04Speaker 1: of people that relate to her situation and feel.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Sorry for her.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Her transparency with her audience is probably more important than
- 10:10Speaker 1: pleasing this sponsor. I mean, she's probably thinking to herself,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't really want to go on another caravan trip.
- 10:14Speaker 1: We don't have to keep them happy. I don't want
- 10:16Speaker 1: to be part of the titanium family anymore. She ended
- 10:20Speaker 1: up being able to feed her kids luckily. She used
- 10:22Speaker 1: the microwave in the end and She showed them eating
- 10:25Speaker 1: at the campsite, as you say, Kate, looking at her
- 10:27Speaker 1: absolute wits end, and she confessed that she was really
- 10:30Speaker 1: scared how their nighttime routine was going to go. I
- 10:33Speaker 1: was stressed watching it unfold because while it was a
- 10:36Speaker 1: luxury caravan, they still had three kids in there who
- 10:39Speaker 1: go to bed at separate times. One of the kids,
- 10:42Speaker 1: the youngest kid, is only I think like 14 months old,
- 10:46Speaker 1: so they had to prop up this kind of I
- 10:48Speaker 1: supposed fence up at the bottom bunk so he wouldn't
- 10:52Speaker 1: roll out of bed. And they had to wait for
- 10:54Speaker 1: him to fall asleep before the other kids went in. Like,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I just don't even know how they did it. You
- 10:58Speaker 1: could tell that Kurt was aware that this wasn't the
- 11:02Speaker 1: best ad for the caravan because they did this little
- 11:05Speaker 1: tour and he was trying to talk up a lot
- 11:08Speaker 1: of the features. He's like, oh, look at all the
- 11:10Speaker 1: space and the different cabinets. But then Sarah was pointing out, oh, yeah, well,
- 11:15Speaker 1: we haven't used the en suite before because with kids
- 11:18Speaker 1: it's easier for us just to use the communal features
- 11:20Speaker 1: and I was like, oh my God, just say one
- 11:23Speaker 1: nice thing about the place. Yeah. And she's also complaining
- 11:26Speaker 1: that the washing machine in the caravan wasn't big enough.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So she was having to do daily washes. I'm like,
- 11:31Speaker 1: oh my God, isn't it great that you've got a
- 11:32Speaker 1: washing machine? It's so awkward because when you look at
- 11:35Speaker 1: how titanium markets these caravans, they say it's a great
- 11:39Speaker 1: option for traveling families. It's very spacious. But all Sarah
- 11:44Speaker 1: spoke about in the vlog was how cramped it was
- 11:47Speaker 1: and how it was so difficult to fit everything in.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I mean, she also showed herself cooking in the communal
- 11:53Speaker 1: barbecue area saying, I can't cook in my caravan, so
- 11:56Speaker 1: I've had to come to the public zone. So again,
- 11:59Speaker 1: it wasn't a glowing review.
- 12:01Speaker 3: But that being said, her followers lapped it up.
- 12:04Speaker 1: As you mentioned, Kate, she has a lot of young
- 12:06Speaker 1: mums who follow her and they appreciated how transparent she
- 12:10Speaker 1: was in this vlog. One follower wrote, thank you for
- 12:13Speaker 1: providing real life testimony as opposed to just a highlight
- 12:16Speaker 1: reel that would make the rest of us feel like
- 12:18Speaker 1: we're failing. Whilst another said, super valid breakdown. I would
- 12:21Speaker 1: have lost it, like gone home. Also, what kind of
- 12:24Speaker 1: RV has a dishwasher but no oven? Literally never heard
- 12:28Speaker 1: of such a thing. I'm sure the brand wasn't happy
- 12:30Speaker 1: with that one. Some followers weren't as impressed though. One wrote,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I'm unfollowing because I honestly can no longer handle your
- 12:37Speaker 1: constant complaining. While another said, how can you have a
- 12:39Speaker 1: meltdown in a titanium? I found it interesting because despite
- 12:43Speaker 1: titanium welcoming Sarah and Kurt to the family and They
- 12:47Speaker 1: didn't like her post where she promoted her vlog. They
- 12:52Speaker 1: also didn't comment on it and Sarah didn't tag them
- 12:55Speaker 1: in it. Well, they clearly weren't happy with the coverage
- 12:57Speaker 1: and Sarah wasn't happy with the holiday. This whole situation
- 13:01Speaker 1: really made me question if an influencer accepts an experience,
- 13:06Speaker 1: are they obliged to give a glowing review? Because initially
- 13:09Speaker 1: when I watched this vlog, I was like, oh my God,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I feel so sorry for the brand. But then I thought, well,
- 13:15Speaker 1: isn't Sarah actually doing a good job in terms of
- 13:19Speaker 1: being transparent for her audience? Like just because she's accepted
- 13:22Speaker 1: the trip, does she have to pretend that she enjoyed it?
- 13:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's what we want from influencers these days.
- 13:27Speaker 1: We want them to be honest with the experience.
- 13:29Speaker 3: That they have.
- 13:30Speaker 1: The difficulty is that obviously that's going to be skewed
- 13:33Speaker 1: when they are gifted something. And I think, well, if
- 13:35Speaker 1: Sarah didn't enjoy it and she doesn't want to continue
- 13:39Speaker 1: the partnership on, then it kind of makes sense for
- 13:42Speaker 1: her to go, okay, actually that wasn't for me. This
- 13:44Speaker 1: was my true experience in there. It'll be interesting to
- 13:47Speaker 1: see though, if the partnership continues, I know you said
- 13:50Speaker 1: that it seems like titanium weren't happy about it, but
- 13:53Speaker 1: Kurt still does a lot of camping. And I mean,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I was thinking back a couple of weeks ago, Kurt
- 13:59Speaker 1: took the two older boys out on a camping trip
- 14:02Speaker 1: and Sarah stayed at home with the baby.
- 14:04Speaker 3: That probably would have been better.
- 14:06Speaker 1: For titanium to sponsor rather than Sarah on the trip.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So Yeah, but they want Sarah to share it on
- 14:11Speaker 1: her YouTube channel. That's where all the eyeballs are. I know,
- 14:13Speaker 1: but potentially it may have worked better with more of
- 14:16Speaker 1: a niche audience, like a dad audience watching it through
- 14:18Speaker 1: Kurt's channel.
- 14:19Speaker 3: That's the thing.
- 14:20Speaker 1: With Sarah, I think she would have felt that it
- 14:22Speaker 1: was disingenuous to rave about how easy and carefree this
- 14:25Speaker 1: trip was when she clearly found it very challenging. And
- 14:28Speaker 1: I think she's really built an audience around... chaos of
- 14:33Speaker 1: her life and her audience really trust her reviews. Like
- 14:36Speaker 1: she only works with a handful of brands and you
- 14:38Speaker 1: can tell that they're brands that she actually really likes.
- 14:40Speaker 1: So I don't think she was about to jeopardize that
- 14:43Speaker 1: just for a free trip. I don't know if she
- 14:45Speaker 1: particularly likes the brands. I think that she has for
- 14:49Speaker 1: so many years now been a master in promoting things.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Like I remember when I started watching her channel back
- 14:55Speaker 1: in the day, And I'm like, I need to get
- 14:58Speaker 1: my hands on that loving earth chocolate she eats.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It sounds absolutely delicious.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Like she used to talk about how Kurt had to
- 15:04Speaker 1: hide it from her.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Because she would just eat a whole block.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 15:07Speaker 3: I think she did genuinely like it.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Surely not because I bought the chocolate and it tasted
- 15:11Speaker 1: like candles. Like it tasted like it was inedible. And
- 15:13Speaker 1: also we saw how she managed to basically build Tropica,
- 15:18Speaker 1: that protein company up as a brand. I mean, it
- 15:20Speaker 1: literally featured in every one of her vlogs.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I bought it. I actually still buy.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It now based on being influenced by her. But as
- 15:27Speaker 1: soon as that deal cut off, never uses it again.
- 15:31Speaker 1: So clearly she can't like it that much. I don't
- 15:34Speaker 1: think it means that she never liked it. I think
- 15:36Speaker 1: it means that the partnership went sour and she thought, well, fuck,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm not going to promote them anymore. I mean, she
- 15:41Speaker 1: might still eat it behind closed doors. She just doesn't
- 15:44Speaker 1: bloody post about it.
- 15:45Speaker 3: In terms of the.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Partnership with Titanium Caravans, I really want to know whether
- 15:49Speaker 1: Sarah was just gifted the trip or whether she was
- 15:53Speaker 1: paid to promote them because Her reaction then would sit
- 15:56Speaker 1: differently with me. Because if this was a paid partnership,
- 16:01Speaker 1: that would mean that Titanium would have sent her and
- 16:03Speaker 1: Kurt these key messages that they wanted them to convey
- 16:06Speaker 1: about the caravan. For instance, they probably would have requested
- 16:09Speaker 1: Sarah to emphasize how spacious the caravan was or how
- 16:12Speaker 1: it was perfect for a family holiday. If that's the case,
- 16:16Speaker 1: she then didn't live up to the bargains. In saying
- 16:18Speaker 1: that though, if they just gifted it to her, they
- 16:21Speaker 1: probably didn't have those stipulations in place. And it was
- 16:24Speaker 1: more of a, give us your honest opinion of the caravan. Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Because these days, I think brands have a bit of
- 16:30Speaker 1: a different approach to gifting. Previously, they probably sent through
- 16:33Speaker 1: a lot of stipulations like, in order to accept this gift,
- 16:36Speaker 1: you must post this and use this hashtag. And these
- 16:39Speaker 1: are the key messaging. But I think now they try
- 16:42Speaker 1: and take a bit of a step back and not
- 16:44Speaker 1: place a lot of pressure on influencers to post. They
- 16:46Speaker 1: want the post to feel organic. And I think that's
- 16:48Speaker 1: probably what happened in this instance. However, it has backfired
- 16:51Speaker 1: on them a little bit. I'm really interested to know
- 16:53Speaker 1: who approached who as well. Because if, for instance, Kurt
- 16:57Speaker 1: approached them on behalf of Sarah, I think you'd be
- 17:00Speaker 1: pretty pissed off if you were the brand with the
- 17:03Speaker 1: review that they've given. Whereas if Titanium approached them, you'd
- 17:06Speaker 1: be like, well, fair enough.
- 17:09Speaker 7: This one is up there with the most asked as well.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Matt Paul's fiancee, Annalise Oatway, has opened up about her
- 17:16Speaker 1: co-parenting relationship with Tammy Hembrough. The nurse and micro-influencer confessed
- 17:21Speaker 1: she and Tammy communicate regularly. So before we get into it,
- 17:24Speaker 1: can you get listeners up to speed on the family dynamic? Well,
- 17:28Speaker 1: Matt the first, as we like to refer to him
- 17:30Speaker 1: on Outspoken, got engaged to Tammy at the end of 2021,
- 17:34Speaker 1: if you'll believe it. Now, Tammy was pregnant when he
- 17:37Speaker 1: proposed and she gave birth to their daughter, Posey, in
- 17:40Speaker 1: June 2022. Very soon after Posey's birth, the couple sadly
- 17:45Speaker 1: called off their engagement. Now, Annalise came into the picture
- 17:49Speaker 1: two years later with the couple confirming their relationship in
- 17:53Speaker 1: May 2024. And it's quite clear from Annalise's Instagram account
- 17:58Speaker 1: that she has taken the role of stepmom very seriously. Yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 1: you can see they've got a very special bond and
- 18:03Speaker 1: it's not put on. It's not something that they're just
- 18:05Speaker 1: doing for the cameras. Yeah, they seem to do a
- 18:07Speaker 1: lot of cute activities together and you can see that
- 18:10Speaker 1: they're both very affectionate with one another. Now, a year
- 18:13Speaker 1: after confirming their relationship, Annalise and Matt welcomed their son
- 18:17Speaker 1: Parker Paul. So they did continue with the pee theme there.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And it has been very cute to see Posey and
- 18:22Speaker 1: Parker growing up alongside each other as brother and sister
- 18:25Speaker 1: because Posey lives with Matt and Annalise on set days
- 18:28Speaker 1: during the week. They haven't specified how many days, but
- 18:31Speaker 1: it seems like she does regularly live under their roof.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And Tammy Hembrough for a long time now has really
- 18:37Speaker 1: been commended for her co-parenting relationship with her baby daddies,
- 18:41Speaker 1: Matt Paul and Rhys Hawkins. In interviews, she never speaks
- 18:46Speaker 1: badly of Rhys or Matt. And she says that she
- 18:49Speaker 1: likes to keep things civil for the sake of their kids. Recently,
- 18:53Speaker 1: it seemed like things were a little bit rocky though,
- 18:55Speaker 1: between Tammy and Matt Paul and Annalise Otway, because they
- 19:00Speaker 1: were seen publicly liking this video that mocked Tammy for
- 19:04Speaker 1: crying about her breakup. And it just seemed like something
- 19:08Speaker 1: was off between them. And there was a bit of
- 19:10Speaker 1: a vibe that Matt Zukowski and Matt Paul were friends.
- 19:12Speaker 1: There were a few comments back and forth that made
- 19:15Speaker 1: you feel as though they'd had a deep and meaningful,
- 19:17Speaker 1: or there was more going on than the public knew. Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So it's not really surprising that when Annalise put up
- 19:23Speaker 1: a Q & A box recently on her Instagram story,
- 19:27Speaker 1: that she was absolutely inundated with followers asking about her
- 19:30Speaker 1: relationship with Tammy. One follower wrote, do you and Tammy
- 19:33Speaker 1: talk slash get on? Let's take a listen to what
- 19:36Speaker 1: Annalise said.
- 19:38Speaker 7: Tammy and I talk about Pose. So if we have
- 19:41Speaker 7: Posey and probably wants to talk to her mum, we FaceTime.
- 19:44Speaker 7: If she's doing her dance concert or something and Tammy
- 19:47Speaker 7: can't make it, I send pictures. All of our chat
- 19:51Speaker 7: is strictly Posey related. We're not going for coffees or
- 19:54Speaker 7: anything like that. But yeah, we chat about Poe. We
- 19:58Speaker 7: have to navigate pickups and drop-offs and all that sort
- 20:01Speaker 7: of stuff.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Do you sort of read between the lines of that comment, oh,
- 20:05Speaker 1: we don't go for coffees or anything? as her sort
- 20:08Speaker 1: of saying, we're not friends.
- 20:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And the fact that she says we strictly only talk
- 20:12Speaker 1: about Posey, it's clear that both women want what's best
- 20:15Speaker 1: for Posey and they're putting aside the fact that they
- 20:18Speaker 1: probably don't like each other.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I mean, why would you? Why would you like your
- 20:21Speaker 3: fiance's ex?
- 20:22Speaker 1: I also think that Matt Paul probably doesn't want things
- 20:25Speaker 1: getting blurred, which you could understand because would you really
- 20:29Speaker 1: want your fiance and ex-fiance catching up to exchange notes
- 20:32Speaker 1: about you?
- 20:33Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Like he leaves the toilet seat up. He's messy he's
- 20:36Speaker 1: annoying you know what I mean like you don't you
- 20:39Speaker 1: it's kind of a weird situation for your current partner
- 20:41Speaker 1: to meet your ex that doesn't usually happen it's funny
- 20:44Speaker 1: also because if you were Annalise you wouldn't really want
- 20:48Speaker 1: Matt being the one sending photos and organizing the drop-off
- 20:51Speaker 1: either so it's kind of like for the betterment of
- 20:54Speaker 1: your relationship Annalise has to be the middle person but
- 20:58Speaker 1: you know I mean I wouldn't want to be communicating
- 21:02Speaker 1: with my husband's ex about, like, you know, you want
- 21:05Speaker 1: to cut them off completely and they obviously can't do
- 21:07Speaker 1: that because they've got a child together. So I think
- 21:10Speaker 1: it's fantastic that they are putting aside whatever they feel
- 21:13Speaker 1: about each other to parent Posey the.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Way they do. It's clearly working very well for them.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the more surface level that they keep
- 21:19Speaker 1: this relationship, the less trouble there's going to be. Because
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's like if you're catching up, as I said, and
- 21:24Speaker 1: exchanging notes, that's when little niggles start to show and little,
- 21:28Speaker 1: you know, he said, she said stuff starts happening too.
- 21:31Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Well, the interesting thing with Annalise is that she and Matt,
- 21:35Speaker 1: as you mentioned, have gone on to have their own child.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And she was asked if she finds parenting Posey different
- 21:41Speaker 1: from parenting her son, Parker. Let's take a listen to
- 21:44Speaker 1: what she said.
- 21:46Speaker 7: It's not different. So in our house, the rules are
- 21:48Speaker 7: the rules and the boundaries are the boundaries. And they're
- 21:50Speaker 7: going to be the same for both kids. Plain and simple.
- 21:54Speaker 7: Kids need boundaries. They feel safe with boundaries. If you're
- 21:57Speaker 7: consistent with them, they know that that's just the boundary.
- 21:59Speaker 7: So I'm not going to treat them any different. They're
- 22:02Speaker 7: brother and sister. They live under the same house.
- 22:04Speaker 5: A rule's a rule.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I loved her response because I think that stepmoms have
- 22:08Speaker 1: gotten a really bad rap, probably from stories like Cinderella,
- 22:12Speaker 1: of not caring about their stepchildren as much as their
- 22:16Speaker 1: biological children or treating them differently. And you can tell
- 22:20Speaker 1: that that certainly isn't the case in the situation for Posey.
- 22:24Speaker 1: And unfortunately, there's probably a lot of people that couldn't
- 22:26Speaker 1: relate to that situation with their step parents. So it
- 22:29Speaker 1: is really nice. to see this positive step-parent story play
- 22:33Speaker 1: out online. I also think it's clear that Matt and
- 22:35Speaker 1: Annalise are doing a fantastic job at ensuring that there
- 22:38Speaker 1: are boundaries in place and that she has this stable
- 22:41Speaker 1: environment when she's at their house because it would be
- 22:43Speaker 1: really tough going from house to house and also for
- 22:46Speaker 1: the child having to navigate the different rules and the
- 22:49Speaker 1: different styles of parenting. There's always been a bit of
- 22:53Speaker 1: intrigue of how often Tammy looks after Posey compared to Matt.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I mean, people are nosy.
- 22:58Speaker 3: They kind of want to know what's going on there.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Now, Annalise didn't say how many days she and Matt
- 23:03Speaker 1: look after Posey, but she said that they have set days.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So they take.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Her to swimming and dancing during the week, and then
- 23:09Speaker 1: they alternate on the weekends, depending who has what on.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I wasn't sure if she was trying to have a
- 23:16Speaker 1: subtle dig at Tammy because She said, Poe's mum obviously
- 23:19Speaker 1: travels a lot for work, so we have her whenever
- 23:21Speaker 1: she goes away too. So it tends to be more
- 23:24Speaker 1: than the set days quite regularly, which is fine with us. Well,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I'm assuming that is a little bit of a dig
- 23:29Speaker 1: considering that the relationship has been a little bit turbulent
- 23:32Speaker 1: between them. I mean, as much as Matt and Annalise
- 23:36Speaker 1: probably love looking after Posey, it would be hard being
- 23:39Speaker 1: that sort of default family, like, oh, I'm just going
- 23:42Speaker 1: on a trip, so you have.
- 23:43Speaker 3: To look after her kind of thing.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting that Annalise never referred to
- 23:47Speaker 1: Tammy by name. She only called her Poe's mum. It
- 23:51Speaker 1: kind of reiterates that there's not much of a friendship there.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I think it would be more of a case of
- 23:54Speaker 1: Annalise not wanting to name drop Tammy because over the
- 23:57Speaker 1: last six months or so, we know that anything Tammy
- 24:00Speaker 1: Hembrough does makes headlines. So if she was to start saying, oh,
- 24:03Speaker 1: this is my co-parenting relationship with Tammy Hembrough, then the
- 24:06Speaker 1: Daily Mail would write an article about it and probably
- 24:08Speaker 1: twist what she was saying. It was also quite interesting
- 24:10Speaker 1: because Annalise was asked if she and Matt would like
- 24:13Speaker 1: to have more babies and she opened up saying that
- 24:17Speaker 1: she's quite torn whilst Matt is a flat no. I
- 24:21Speaker 1: really don't think that you should ever ask any parent
- 24:24Speaker 1: who has a child under one if they're considering having
- 24:26Speaker 1: more because you are just so in the thick of
- 24:29Speaker 1: things that it's really hard to answer that question. I
- 24:31Speaker 1: think you need the time and perspective once the sleep
- 24:34Speaker 1: deprivation has lifted to be able to work out if
- 24:37Speaker 1: you want a second child. Yeah. It's funny because you
- 24:39Speaker 1: and Amy keep saying that you're one and done, but
- 24:41Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't think you can even answer that
- 24:43Speaker 1: at the moment because, you know, both of your babies
- 24:45Speaker 1: are under one.
- 24:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Well, for Annalise, she said that she always wanted two,
- 24:50Speaker 1: but Matt already has two of his own. And she
- 24:54Speaker 1: admitted that she didn't realize how hard it was going
- 24:56Speaker 1: to be having both Posey and Parker with her parents
- 24:59Speaker 1: living interstate. So she hasn't really had much of that
- 25:01Speaker 1: family support at home. She also said that the split
- 25:05Speaker 1: family dynamic would make it easier for her and Matt
- 25:07Speaker 1: to just stick with Posey and Parker because she said,
- 25:10Speaker 1: you've got one boy, one girl, you've got different houses
- 25:13Speaker 1: already going on, different rules that's coming back and forth.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And that she thinks it would be a lot easier
- 25:17Speaker 1: to navigate that with just one boy and one girl.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I wonder if they have looked at Tammy's situation. So
- 25:23Speaker 1: she of course has two older children with Reese Hawkins
- 25:26Speaker 1: and then one with Matt Poole.
- 25:28Speaker 3: And I wonder if.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Posey feels a little bit sad or funny about the
- 25:33Speaker 1: fact that she's the kid that has to go between houses.
- 25:35Speaker 1: So then if they were to have a second kid,
- 25:38Speaker 1: she would again be the odd sibling out that's having
- 25:40Speaker 1: to go back and forth between the house.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and she might feel a bit excluded.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Can you take a photo of me?
- 25:47Speaker 6: And it's like people take the piss like, oh, yeah,
- 25:49Speaker 6: of course you want a photo of yourself.
- 25:50Speaker 5: You're an influencer. Like, oh, fuck me dead. And then
- 25:53Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, cool.
- 25:54Speaker 6: Like I would always be told get off your phone,
- 25:57Speaker 6: too much time on your phone.
- 25:58Speaker 5: I'm like I'm literally trying to hustle.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Like content creation is filming yourself from the moment you
- 26:07Speaker 6: wake up to the moment you go to sleep.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Sky Wheatley has revealed she's contemplating a career change. In
- 26:15Speaker 1: a 13-minute Instagram story, the OG influencer complained that no
- 26:19Speaker 1: one understands the pressure of constantly sharing your life online. Kate,
- 26:23Speaker 1: you took one for the team and watched this video
- 26:25Speaker 1: in its entirety.
- 26:27Speaker 3: What happened?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Well, the crux of it was that Sky is feeling
- 26:30Speaker 1: a lot of pressure to present a perfect life on
- 26:33Speaker 1: social media. So it's crazy to think that she's actually
- 26:36Speaker 1: been sharing her life online now for 10 years, and
- 26:40Speaker 1: it's clear that it has taken a toll on her
- 26:42Speaker 1: mental health and body image. Now, I think a big
- 26:46Speaker 1: reason why people follow Sky is because she posts with
- 26:49Speaker 1: no filter. I mean, we've spoken a lot on the
- 26:51Speaker 1: podcast about how she barely edits her YouTube videos and
- 26:55Speaker 1: you really don't know what you're going to get when
- 26:58Speaker 1: you tune into Sky's social media, which is a part
- 27:01Speaker 1: of her appeal. In saying that though, that has gotten
- 27:04Speaker 1: her in a lot of trouble, particularly in the early 2020s.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And it seems like Sky's confidence to post whatever she
- 27:11Speaker 1: likes has now gone. So in this video, she confessed
- 27:14Speaker 1: that she's second guessing her content strategy. Skye said for
- 27:18Speaker 1: most of her career, she's been criticized for sharing too much.
- 27:21Speaker 1: But since taking a step back recently, she's been told
- 27:24Speaker 1: she's not sharing enough. Yeah, it's interesting because her pulling
- 27:29Speaker 1: away from social media has really coincided with her breakup
- 27:33Speaker 1: from her baby daddy, Lockie War, who she recently just
- 27:37Speaker 1: announced that she has reconciled with. Over the Christmas break,
- 27:41Speaker 1: she took some time off and that was for the
- 27:43Speaker 1: first time in 10 years. While the criticism I don't
- 27:47Speaker 1: think is fair, I can see why people have been
- 27:49Speaker 1: asking for an update though. They want to know what's
- 27:52Speaker 1: gone on with Skye and Lockie and why they've gotten
- 27:54Speaker 1: back together.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And in terms of Skye oversharing online, reading between the lines,
- 28:00Speaker 1: it sounds like it was her friends and family telling
- 28:02Speaker 1: her that. So she said that she was concerned people
- 28:05Speaker 1: in her life would take what she was saying the
- 28:08Speaker 1: wrong way. And it was interesting because at one point
- 28:10Speaker 1: she referenced the OG days with Shani and Michael because
- 28:13Speaker 1: she was a part of that big friendship group. And
- 28:16Speaker 1: she said something about how she was known back then
- 28:19Speaker 1: as the girl who always had her camera out. And
- 28:21Speaker 1: it sounds like she's got a bit of a hang.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Up about that.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And when you watch those vlogs, it always felt like
- 28:27Speaker 1: she was kind of on the outer a bit. I
- 28:28Speaker 1: wonder if she got paid out for always having a
- 28:30Speaker 1: camera out and trying to shoot content with them. Or
- 28:33Speaker 1: I wonder if she was accused of trying to clout
- 28:35Speaker 1: chase off them as well. I know she had a
- 28:37Speaker 1: profile from being on Big Brother, but at the time, Sharni,
- 28:41Speaker 1: Michael and their little group were huge.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And I think more recently, the oversharing comment is probably
- 28:47Speaker 1: coming from Lockie because he probably wasn't happy about everything
- 28:50Speaker 1: that got publicly shared about their breakup. But it also
- 28:53Speaker 1: seems like he got a bit tired of being a
- 28:55Speaker 1: boyfriend of Instagram. So Skye spoke about how she stopped
- 28:58Speaker 1: asking Lockie to take pictures of her when they went
- 29:01Speaker 1: out to dinner together because she explained that he just
- 29:04Speaker 1: wanted time off his phone and she felt like she
- 29:05Speaker 1: was being annoying. But I'm guessing that was probably a
- 29:08Speaker 1: trigger to their arguments. Side note, isn't it so annoying
- 29:11Speaker 1: when you have made a big effort to look nice
- 29:13Speaker 1: and you do forget to take a photo or you
- 29:16Speaker 1: don't want to ask, oh, could you get a photo
- 29:19Speaker 1: of me? Particularly if you are in this type of
- 29:21Speaker 1: job like Sky is where you have to keep posting
- 29:24Speaker 1: about your life. And she obviously puts in a lot
- 29:26Speaker 1: of effort with her appearance and to be wearing cool
- 29:28Speaker 1: outfits and amazing hair and makeup. Well, she said it's
- 29:31Speaker 1: hard when you're trying to hustle and get content, but
- 29:34Speaker 1: no one else gets it. I do think it's important
- 29:36Speaker 1: to preface during this conversation, Sky is... usual influencer fashion
- 29:42Speaker 1: put out a lot of disclaimers so she said that
- 29:44Speaker 1: she's grateful for the lifestyle influencing provides her she even
- 29:48Speaker 1: went as far as to say this.
- 29:51Speaker 4: I'm actually exhausted i know this is so lame like
- 29:55Speaker 4: full white privilege bitch in her fucking car.
- 29:58Speaker 5: I'm I'm very grateful.
- 30:01Speaker 6: Don't get me wrong, but I feel like no one
- 30:04Speaker 6: talks about, I don't.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Know if it's just me, but I feel immense pressure
- 30:11Speaker 2: to be perfect and I'm fucking over it.
- 30:15Speaker 5: I just feel immense pressure.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Look, I know that there will be a lot of
- 30:19Speaker 1: people listening, screaming at their phones, being like, shut up, Sky.
- 30:22Speaker 3: That's just ridiculous. Your job is easy.
- 30:25Speaker 1: And while I do agree that it is easy compared
- 30:28Speaker 1: to a lot of jobs out there and it has
- 30:31Speaker 1: a lot of perks, you can't deny that there is
- 30:34Speaker 1: a clear toll that this sort of job takes on
- 30:37Speaker 1: influences mental health and the constant 24-7 nature of it,
- 30:40Speaker 1: like replying to negative comments.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I mean, this video was hard to watch. Skye was
- 30:44Speaker 1: literally beside herself in it and she had to stop
- 30:47Speaker 1: the camera several times because she was sobbing so much.
- 30:51Speaker 1: And she ended up saying that she's been feeling really
- 30:53Speaker 1: stuck and has so much going on in her head,
- 30:55Speaker 1: she then said this.
- 30:57Speaker 5: I think I'd rather be a fucking tradie at this point.
- 31:00Speaker 6: I can get up, put my fucking muddy boots on,
- 31:03Speaker 6: go to work, sand a wall, bust my ass, come home,
- 31:07Speaker 6: not even look at my phone, eat a good meal,
- 31:10Speaker 6: not worry about body image, what I fucking look like,
- 31:14Speaker 6: what I've got to post. I don't know, I'm being
- 31:18Speaker 6: really negative. I'm just having a mad life, like middle...
- 31:22Speaker 6: this is a midlife crisis. This is a full blown
- 31:25Speaker 6: midlife crisis. Like I get that everyone's struggling financially.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It's really sad because Sky has opened up about having
- 31:34Speaker 1: body dysmorphia and the job of an influencer is probably
- 31:38Speaker 1: the worst job you can have if you have this
- 31:40Speaker 1: condition because you're constantly looking at photos of yourself.
- 31:43Speaker 3: You're constantly having to film yourself.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's tough because if Sky was one of your
- 31:46Speaker 1: friends and she had nearly any other job but being
- 31:49Speaker 1: an influencer, you'd just say, well, it's time for a change. However,
- 31:53Speaker 1: it's not really possible when you are an influencer, particularly
- 31:56Speaker 1: of her caliber, like she is an OG influencer. She's
- 31:58Speaker 1: been doing it for 10 years. And we're at this
- 32:01Speaker 1: stage now where people like Sky, a lot of the
- 32:04Speaker 1: OG influencers are entering their late twenties and early thirties,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and they've been sharing their life for so long now
- 32:10Speaker 1: online that they're over it. You know, it's just not
- 32:13Speaker 1: fun anymore. However, because they haven't had a job outside
- 32:16Speaker 1: of influencing, many of them just don't have qualifications or
- 32:19Speaker 1: skills to actually get jobs outside of that. I mean,
- 32:22Speaker 1: A couple of days later, Sky was complaining about how
- 32:24Speaker 1: fake Instagram was. And she said that she is seriously
- 32:27Speaker 1: considering becoming a beauty injector, but doesn't know if she
- 32:30Speaker 1: could do a registered nursing course because she just doesn't
- 32:33Speaker 1: have the attention span for it. I think for a
- 32:35Speaker 1: lot of influencers, not all influencers, but for a lot
- 32:38Speaker 1: of them, if they then did step into a nine
- 32:40Speaker 1: to five job, it would give them the perspective to realize.
- 32:44Speaker 3: How good they had it.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they almost need that clarity to say, oh, actually,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I have a lot of flexibility. I mean, it's like anything.
- 32:53Speaker 1: It's like, you know, now being a mother, I look
- 32:55Speaker 1: back at my life before and I was like, oh,
- 32:57Speaker 1: my job was so easy in comparison to now having
- 33:01Speaker 1: to do my job and also parent full time.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it is the rose.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Colored glasses as well, because you kind of only look
- 33:07Speaker 1: back and see the highlights, not the other shit that
- 33:09Speaker 1: you're going through. It's funny, though, because I have noticed
- 33:12Speaker 1: this trend of influencers going offline and being way happier.
- 33:15Speaker 1: And a lot of them are now talking about that
- 33:18Speaker 1: brick app, which I really want to get. It's basically
- 33:21Speaker 1: this thing where you can physically block your phone from
- 33:25Speaker 1: whichever apps you want to be blocked from. So most
- 33:26Speaker 1: people would block social media apps. And then in order
- 33:29Speaker 1: to get back onto those apps, you have to go
- 33:31Speaker 1: and unbrick it.
- 33:32Speaker 3: So it sort of puts that barrier up.
- 33:35Speaker 1: So if you're sitting on the couch, you actually have
- 33:37Speaker 1: to physically get up and say you put the device
- 33:39Speaker 1: on your fridge. You've got to go tap the fridge
- 33:41Speaker 1: to unlock your phone. I do find it ironic that
- 33:43Speaker 1: influencers are promoting the brick only because they rely on
- 33:47Speaker 1: people being engaged with their social media posts. So If
- 33:50Speaker 1: all of your followers start breaking their phone and suddenly
- 33:52Speaker 1: they're not seeing your posts anymore, your job becomes kind
- 33:54Speaker 1: of redundant. But it's more about putting boundaries in and
- 33:57Speaker 1: being like, okay, well, I'm going to stop mindless scrolling
- 33:59Speaker 1: and I'm going to have my social media time that
- 34:01Speaker 1: I actually enjoy maybe after my dinner when I sit
- 34:04Speaker 1: down on the couch and relax. Like I think that
- 34:06Speaker 1: is actually really positive. That's what I want to do
- 34:09Speaker 1: because sometimes I find myself just picking up my phone.
- 34:11Speaker 3: I'm like, what am I even doing? I'm not even
- 34:12Speaker 3: interested in looking at anything. It's like, it's just a habit.
- 34:15Speaker 3: It is a habit.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And I mean, it's ironic that I saw this on TikTok,
- 34:18Speaker 1: but a marketer was saying that There is currently a
- 34:21Speaker 1: decline in how much time people are spending online. And essentially,
- 34:25Speaker 1: it's not going to be cool to be online chronically
- 34:27Speaker 1: like we are. Time offline is going to be seen
- 34:30Speaker 1: as this luxury commodity. And it's all to do with
- 34:33Speaker 1: the fact that the online world is just so saturated now.
- 34:36Speaker 1: It was interesting because he said since COVID, the number
- 34:39Speaker 1: of influencers has multiplied by eight and it's just not sustainable.
- 34:44Speaker 1: And we don't really care about these people anymore. Now,
- 34:47Speaker 1: getting back to Sky, the timing of her crash out
- 34:50Speaker 1: in the car was quite interesting because it coincided with
- 34:53Speaker 1: the birth of her niece. In fact, Sky filmed the
- 34:56Speaker 1: video after she visited her sister Kayla in hospital. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 1: and off the back of this video, Sky has been
- 35:02Speaker 1: accused of spoiling her sister's baby news. It's believed she
- 35:06Speaker 1: shared the news of the baby before Kayla as well
- 35:09Speaker 1: as the name of So for those interested, the baby's
- 35:12Speaker 1: name is Sailor Rose and Sky revealed that Sailor would
- 35:15Speaker 1: have been the name she chose if her sons were girls.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I saw Amber from Influencer Update speaking about this in
- 35:21Speaker 1: her Friday Night Live and someone wrote in saying that
- 35:25Speaker 1: Sky's sister Kayla actually went live on TikTok during the labor.
- 35:31Speaker 1: So I think that she was spilling a lot of
- 35:33Speaker 1: the details on her own TikTok live. She must have
- 35:36Speaker 1: quite a following on there.
- 35:37Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I think Sky must've thought, oh, well that information's already
- 35:41Speaker 1: out there. In saying that though, I wouldn't be thrilled
- 35:43Speaker 1: if you had this massive following and you went and
- 35:45Speaker 1: spoiled my baby news before I even got a chance
- 35:47Speaker 1: to post it officially. Like there's just this unsaid thing
- 35:51Speaker 1: that you wait until, like it's like a wedding. You
- 35:53Speaker 1: don't post before the bride. With the birth of a child,
- 35:55Speaker 1: you don't post before the parents. Just to wrap things up,
- 35:58Speaker 1: Sky has returned to social media and she is posting
- 36:01Speaker 1: quite regularly now. She did confirmed that she might go
- 36:05Speaker 1: quite rogue this year, which, I mean, I think she
- 36:07Speaker 1: goes rogue every year. I was quite relieved when I
- 36:09Speaker 1: saw her stories on Saturday night because originally when I
- 36:12Speaker 1: saw the crash ad, I was like, oh, God, is
- 36:14Speaker 1: this it for Sky on social media? But she was
- 36:16Speaker 1: back to her best. She was sitting in bed talking
- 36:19Speaker 1: to the camera very freely. She actually hilariously dropped the tea, apparently,
- 36:24Speaker 1: on why she and Lockie broke up.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Let's take a listen.
- 36:28Speaker 5: See it again in the night. When this man sneezes.
- 36:36Speaker 7: That's why we broke up if you want to know
- 36:38Speaker 7: the tea that's why like.
- 36:41Speaker 6: It's it's the sneezing i was like look buddy i
- 36:47Speaker 6: actually just can't anymore the farting and the sneezing.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Now obviously she's taking the piss out of it but
- 36:53Speaker 1: i think anyone that is married or in a long-term
- 36:56Speaker 1: relationship with a male can understand how annoying their sneezing
- 37:00Speaker 1: is why is it.
- 37:00Speaker 3: So loud My partner doesn't really sneeze loudly. Really? I
- 37:04Speaker 3: thought it was just a thing, but not sneezing.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Well, she did say that the farting was also annoying,
- 37:08Speaker 1: but I thought it was this thing that all men
- 37:11Speaker 1: sneeze really loudly. I've seen it on TikTok. And it's like,
- 37:14Speaker 1: it's funny because our dog, Sunny, you could tell her
- 37:17Speaker 1: to get out of the room. You can tell her
- 37:18Speaker 1: to do anything and she won't do it. But as
- 37:20Speaker 1: soon as Rhys sneezes, she bolts.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Out of the room. Like she's so frightened of it.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I can sneeze.
- 37:25Speaker 1: She doesn't care at all. But there is something about
- 37:27Speaker 1: the tone of his sneeze and other men's sneezes that
- 37:29Speaker 1: she doesn't like. Well, on that note, I think that
- 37:31Speaker 1: is all we have time for today. Thank you so
