In top news, in spring 2023, Bernard Marantelli,

a former London banker, aimed to take down the
• 6:12
Texas lottery by buying nearly every possible
• 6:15
number combination for an upcoming drawing. With
• 6:18
25 .8 million potential combinations and a jackpot
• 6:22
of $95 million, they sought to maximize profits.
• 6:27
Marantelli and his team set up operations in
• 6:30
Texas, using official ticket printing terminals
• 6:33
to produce tickets rapidly. Their plan culminated
• 6:37
in a jackpot win of $57 .8 million, sparking
• 6:42
outrage among state officials. who claimed the
• 6:45
operation constituted the biggest theft from
• 6:48
the people of Texas in the history of Texas.
• 6:52
In business news, cloud -based design platform
• 6:56
Figma has confidentially filed for an initial
• 7:00
public offering in the United States following
• 7:02
the collapse of a $20 billion acquisition deal
• 7:05
with Adobe. Antitrust regulators in Europe and
• 7:09
Britain blocked this deal in December 2023. marking
• 7:13
it as one of the largest failed acquisitions
• 7:16
of a software startup. Last year, Figma was valued
• 7:20
at $12 .5 billion. Despite recent market volatility,
• 7:26
which has caused many tech startups to delay
• 7:28
their IPO plans, Figma remains cash flow positive
• 7:32
and boasts clients like Adobe, Uber, Spotify,
• 7:35
and Google. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is down
• 7:41
  2 % to about $84 ,000. Ethereum is down 3 % to
• 7:47
just under $1 ,600. And Goatseys Maximus is down

• 8:38
morning sent you by. And now, back to the show.
• 8:43
Let's talk science. A new study suggests that
• 8:46
at the quantum level, time might be flowing in
• 8:49
reverse without our awareness. Researchers in
• 8:53
England have discovered two arrows of time in
• 8:56
open quantum systems moving in opposite directions.
• 9:00
This finding challenges our understanding of
• 9:02
time's asymmetrical nature. The study indicates
• 9:06
that as energy dissipates into the environment,
• 9:09
time's flow is indicated by entropy, which always
• 9:12
increases. Senior author Andrea Rocco emphasizes
• 9:17
that while this theory does not imply time travel,
• 9:20
it offers a fresh perspective on time's function
• 9:23
in thermodynamics and the universe's creation,
• 9:27
raising intriguing questions about our reality.
• 9:32
And in entertainment news. Hollywood is facing
• 9:37
a challenge as original movies struggle to attract
• 9:40
  audiences. Director Christopher Landon recently
• 9:44
warned that it's really hard out there for an
• 9:47
original movie, as his thriller dropped open
• 9:50
to an estimated $7 .5 million. Similarly, Disney's
• 9:56
The Amateur debuted at $15 million. Despite a
• 10:01
push for original ideas, nearly every recent
• 10:04
release based on fresh scripts has disappointed
• 10:06
at the box office. The industry is still recovering
• 10:10
from the pandemic, with many consumers preferring
• 10:13
to wait for films to stream online rather than
• 10:16
attend theatres. Well, alrighty folks, it's time
• 10:21
for the quote of the day. And today, our quote
• 10:25
comes from the Scottish author and reformer,
• 10:27
Samuel Smiles. And he said, Hope is like the
• 10:33
sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the
• 10:36
shadow of our burden behind us. And that's a
• 10:40
wrap for this morning. You can check out our
• 10:43
Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some captivating
• 10:47
aerial videos with local news and the weather
• 10:50
reports. Have an amazing day, my good friends.
