Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Oh far.
- 0:22Speaker 2: All right, Hello today, I'm here with Peter black or
- 0:25Speaker 2: Blackie as he's better known from the good old Aussie
- 0:27Speaker 2: band The Heart of.
- 0:28Speaker 1: How Are You Not too bad? Thank you? Thanks for
- 0:31Speaker 1: having me?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah, no anytime. Can you believe that you're about to
- 0:35Speaker 2: embark on a forty year anniversary tour?
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'm I'm that old excellent. No, I can't believe it
- 0:50Speaker 1: when I actually stop to think about it, which I
- 0:52Speaker 1: never do. I never stop and I never think those
- 0:55Speaker 1: two things. What are they?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:57Speaker 1: When I do stop to think about it, it's kind
- 0:59Speaker 1: of like a right, that's a long bloody time.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. And can you tell us a
- 1:06Speaker 2: bit about the doco? The most Australian band ever.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I don't know anything about it. We're not making it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Jonathan I called him John Jonathan Saquira is making it.
- 1:19Speaker 1: And he made the phenomenal doco on Radio Birdman, which
- 1:24Speaker 1: I loved and seen four times. So when he approached
- 1:28Speaker 1: us and said I'd like to make a doco, yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: we all said shit. Yeah, you know the dude that
- 1:34Speaker 1: made the Birdman with doc Oh, yeah for sure. So
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'll see it when you see it. If you want
- 1:40Speaker 1: to go see it, and I'm sure in his hands
- 1:43Speaker 1: it's going to be quite quite fun. Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Is it all like older footage or is there any
- 1:48Speaker 2: new footage or not?
- 1:51Speaker 1: I think Look, I have a feeling he wants to
- 1:54Speaker 1: do it as a two parter our first ten years
- 1:59Speaker 1: or so and then the rest. Yeah. Yeah, the so
- 2:02Speaker 1: called golden age and then the boring bits. Although whenever
- 2:08Speaker 1: people say to me, why don't you write a book,
- 2:11Speaker 1: why don't you do a doctor, why don't you do this?
- 2:12Speaker 1: And I'm like, I don't know what the same man,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm one of them, as boring as dudes I know.
- 2:17Speaker 2: So no, not true.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Let's see how he makes it. I'm sure he's gonna
- 2:23Speaker 1: make us look good.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Now where did the name for the
- 2:28Speaker 2: new album come from.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's the name of two songs, the first songs on
- 2:34Speaker 1: side one and two joined together. That's a song called
- 2:37Speaker 1: I Like You a Lot, And there's a song called
- 2:39Speaker 1: Getting Older and I was raised idea and we just
- 2:41Speaker 1: spliced them together.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Oh that's pretty awesome. And sonically, how did
- 2:46Speaker 2: you guys decide on the direction of this album.
- 2:53Speaker 1: There's never really a decision. It's just really for me.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's what I'm feeling at the moment, and you know
- 3:02Speaker 1: which ideas I'm working on, which ones give me the
- 3:05Speaker 1: most energy, you know, tickle my fancy the most, and
- 3:08Speaker 1: which you know when I look at them together like
- 3:10Speaker 1: we obviously you know, we demo up to twenty to
- 3:13Speaker 1: thirty tracks and then whittle them down to make a
- 3:16Speaker 1: really strong record because you know, you want you know,
- 3:20Speaker 1: as I said before, we're at the ASIAE, we still
- 3:23Speaker 1: love albums as albums, you know, like I remember getting
- 3:26Speaker 1: a record, you know, you play it start to finish,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and you know you're on a little mini journey and
- 3:33Speaker 1: you know, they're just songs that we thought, you know,
- 3:37Speaker 1: would make a good record. And one of the other things.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I can't really talk about it much at the moment
- 3:43Speaker 1: because I had talking about shit until it happens. But
- 3:46Speaker 1: we have record. We have tracked another record which isn't ready,
- 3:49Speaker 1: which is quite heavy, awesome, quite not much melodicness to it.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So just you know, you always do ying and yang.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You go heavy for a while, then you get bored,
- 4:00Speaker 1: then you go melodic for a while, you get bored.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Then you know, keep swapping around and you know, to
- 4:05Speaker 1: keep things, you know fresh.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I heard somewhere that this album is more pop.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so very pop. That's crazy. Well see, I
- 4:17Speaker 2: think pop to you guys and pop to me might
- 4:19Speaker 2: be something very different because I gave Buzz Buzz Buzz
- 4:21Speaker 2: a listen and it was pleasantly surprised by the heaviness,
- 4:25Speaker 2: like that we all know and love from you guys.
- 4:27Speaker 2: It was still there is everything I on the on
- 4:31Speaker 2: I like you a lot getting older. Is everything going
- 4:34Speaker 2: to be more pop or are you going to hark
- 4:36Speaker 2: back to your heavier sound?
- 4:39Speaker 1: No, it's.
- 4:43Speaker 2: No.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Look, it's still like we've usked. It's still basically a mixture.
- 4:47Speaker 1: But there are some very very very melodic moments like
- 4:51Speaker 1: almost tweet and you know, yeah, I know, I guess
- 4:56Speaker 1: the word pop like punk, you know, or metal or anything.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You know, it goes through so many changes. Like when
- 5:03Speaker 1: people say pop, it's like I don't get it. It's like,
- 5:06Speaker 1: you know, to me, the Kinks were pop, Buzzcocks were pop.
- 5:10Speaker 1: The Ramones were really melodic and pop. You know, they
- 5:13Speaker 1: write some of the most beautiful pop songs ever. Yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 1: you know, as well as you know, you know, sixties
- 5:19Speaker 1: stuff like motown and things like that. So I don't
- 5:23Speaker 1: really you know. And we're all massive power pop fans too,
- 5:27Speaker 1: you know, I don't see you know, people say pop
- 5:30Speaker 1: and it's like, oh, you mean like Taylor Swift. It's like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I know my niece loves Taylor Swift, but I don't
- 5:35Speaker 1: really know a music, so maybe it is. I don't
- 5:38Speaker 1: really know, but yeah, you know, pop pop for old farts.
- 5:45Speaker 1: That's a better a description. Maybe I like that.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And have you guys got any new influences for
- 5:55Speaker 2: this album music wise? Maybe not so much any current
- 5:59Speaker 2: pop artists, but do you have any any new influences?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Not not that I can point out, but where you know,
- 6:11Speaker 1: when I say the word old farts, I know, like
- 6:13Speaker 1: a lot of my friends old buddies, they sort of
- 6:17Speaker 1: love the stuff they loved as kids and never really
- 6:20Speaker 1: ventured far out of that bracket. Ye, all four of
- 6:25Speaker 1: us we're constantly searching for new ship, you know, and
- 6:30Speaker 1: still getting buzzed by you know, some incredible you know
- 6:33Speaker 1: music that keeps popping up. So yeah, we're never standing still.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But I guess, you know, for me, I guess the
- 6:43Speaker 1: stuff that I've been listening to recently that I h
- 6:47Speaker 1: it's not that recent, but you know, I've listened to
- 6:50Speaker 1: a little bit of afro funk, which I didn't know
- 6:55Speaker 1: there was so much savage hardcore funk out there, and
- 7:00Speaker 1: a lot of dub as well. Wow, you know that
- 7:03Speaker 1: doesn't really trying out into music. But then at the
- 7:07Speaker 1: same time, I went back and rediscovered a lot of
- 7:10Speaker 1: old motown and following those three songwriters that were there
- 7:15Speaker 1: at the beginning when they got the shits. If Mytown
- 7:17Speaker 1: had left and formed their own label, yes, you know
- 7:21Speaker 1: some of the more soulful stuff that they came with
- 7:23Speaker 1: later it's and yeah, obviously everything that we listened to
- 7:27Speaker 1: would filter in, you know, so I would say yes,
- 7:31Speaker 1: not that I could pinpoint her, but you know, every
- 7:34Speaker 1: day I'm searching for stuff, and you know, my favorite
- 7:36Speaker 1: radio station here is two SCR and it's so good.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You know, there's some assumed music. I'm driving around and
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm fucking deaf, which makes it hard, so I don't
- 7:46Speaker 1: hear the back announcement. I'm like, who is this? This
- 7:49Speaker 1: is awesome? Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I hate that when you find something really good on
- 7:53Speaker 2: the radio and you missed for it.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Is I know. Sometimes I go on their website and
- 7:58Speaker 1: a few of their DJ's leave up playlists. But yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 1: to answer your question, yeah, definitely, we're you know, we're
- 8:07Speaker 1: not like there's been no good music since nineteen eighty seven.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You know, yeah, we're not. We're old, but we're not
- 8:13Speaker 1: that old. You're Well.
- 8:16Speaker 2: That brings me to my next statement. As a millennial,
- 8:19Speaker 2: I just wanted to say that your earlier album sound
- 8:22Speaker 2: a lot like they could have been released today, if
- 8:24Speaker 2: that makes any sort of sense. They really resonate with me,
- 8:28Speaker 2: and I think the younger generations should like really give
- 8:31Speaker 2: you guys a listen or even ask their parents about
- 8:34Speaker 2: the hard ones if they're if they appreciated good music
- 8:37Speaker 2: that is, because it feels like a lot of them
- 8:40Speaker 2: might be missing out at your shows. Do you feel
- 8:43Speaker 2: like there's a mix of fans. Is there some quite
- 8:46Speaker 2: younger ones and then old ones or is it you know,
- 8:49Speaker 2: what's the mix?
- 8:50Speaker 4: Like?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Look as mainly people our age, and I get it, Like,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you know, you never really think about a generation gap
- 8:57Speaker 1: until you get older, and then you sort of like,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you know, I had lunch with my niece today and
- 9:01Speaker 1: she goes, right, uncle Black here, Taylor Swift or Kanye West,
- 9:06Speaker 1: And I'm like, ah, I guess Kanye Kanye West, and
- 9:13Speaker 1: she's you know, I was rolling her eyes at me,
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know, and I know I couldn't have said to her, well,
- 9:19Speaker 1: you know, discharge or crass. You know, Saints already a
- 9:25Speaker 1: bird man, you know, wouldn't have made sense to her. Yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and you know, you know, even my son, you know,
- 9:30Speaker 1: a lot of the times we're in the car and
- 9:32Speaker 1: he rolls his eyes, you know, if I'm playing Bloister
- 9:34Speaker 1: Cult or something like that. It's mainly of us. But yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know, I've noticed a few younger people coming in,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and you know, I mean a good sometimes things go
- 9:48Speaker 1: in cycle, you know, for you know, people sometimes really
- 9:51Speaker 1: dig guitar based music, and I get bored and I want,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you know, more dances sort of ship. Then they go
- 9:57Speaker 1: back and want more rock and roll stuff. And you know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: but I mean, you know, like far out. Yeah, you
- 10:02Speaker 1: can say so many people say, oh, but you know,
- 10:05Speaker 1: dance music is so big nowadays. It's like, yeah, but
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think every single Iron Maiden show was sold out,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you know, in stadiums, you know, not so.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we're still seeing those bands no matter what generator.
- 10:19Speaker 2: You know, Timeline really coming back and playing and they're
- 10:22Speaker 2: still getting sold out. Like you said, like it's yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 2: it's across every every generation I suppose. But yeah, and.
- 10:29Speaker 1: There's definitely enough good stuff out there for everyone.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, No, I totally agree. Is there a
- 10:37Speaker 2: difference playing live here in Australia to playing in other countries?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 10:42Speaker 4: Not?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Really, it's surprisingly universal. Just people that you know dig
- 10:47Speaker 1: that live music buzz, which is almost like, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's just that I just see I see a lot
- 10:55Speaker 1: of things in terms of energy, and you know, you
- 10:57Speaker 1: got to play live. Like you'll notice when you got
- 11:00Speaker 1: to see a band sometimes as they're just about to start,
- 11:03Speaker 1: there's this mad crackling in the room. You know, it's
- 11:06Speaker 1: almost that kinetic fuck. It's about to start. Everyone's getting
- 11:09Speaker 1: really excited. And if it's a good night, if everything's working,
- 11:12Speaker 1: you know, the pa is on fire, the monitors are good,
- 11:15Speaker 1: no one breaks a string. You know, there's that back
- 11:18Speaker 1: and forth you're shooting out some energy into the crowd.
- 11:21Speaker 1: They're getting off their shooting energy back to you and
- 11:23Speaker 1: they keeps going backwards and falls. So you know, by
- 11:25Speaker 1: the end of the night it's like, fucking how that
- 11:28Speaker 1: was so good?
- 11:28Speaker 2: So you can definitely feel it up there when you're performing,
- 11:31Speaker 2: you can feel the crowd.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Hundred percent awesome, one hundred fucking percent. There are some
- 11:36Speaker 1: shows I'll never forget. I remember one in perfect particular
- 11:40Speaker 1: where I just didn't want to get off stage, and
- 11:43Speaker 1: by the end of it, even people right up the
- 11:45Speaker 1: back row I could just see him in shadows with
- 11:48Speaker 1: their hands in the air, going crazy, and I just thought, Fuck,
- 11:51Speaker 1: I'm lucky that, you know, I get to experience this
- 11:55Speaker 1: sort of shit.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Hell yeah, And is there anyone in particular that like,
- 11:59Speaker 2: is a favorite for you guys to play alongside with
- 12:02Speaker 2: or before or loads?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Just so many good bands at the moment for me
- 12:08Speaker 1: to start, you know, Raising Ravens, you know, crazy good
- 12:13Speaker 1: bandad from you know, Rule Victoria, just three piece, two
- 12:18Speaker 1: basses and drums that just sound like, you know, they
- 12:21Speaker 1: put your head in a freight train and take you along.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Leather Man, which is some of the guys from the
- 12:28Speaker 1: Clowns and cable Ties doing a Thin Lizzy style power
- 12:32Speaker 1: pop thing. Mark will go on. Yeah, yeah, hundreds, literally hundreds.
- 12:38Speaker 2: That's awesome. And I know you guys are I think
- 12:40Speaker 2: pretty highly of Radio Birdman. What do they mean to you?
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah? That was really special. What I was saying, like
- 12:48Speaker 1: when we when we played with them, how special that
- 12:51Speaker 1: was for us. And this is you know, no spin doctoring.
- 12:55Speaker 1: This is one hundred percent true. When we were kids,
- 12:57Speaker 1: one of the first songs we tried to learn was
- 13:00Speaker 1: New Race, So you know, to be little grommets in
- 13:05Speaker 1: a bedroom, you know, we badly tuned guitars.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Go.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I think it does ideas you know, they're to be
- 13:12Speaker 1: sharing a stage with them, is yeah, is yeah, exactly,
- 13:17Speaker 1: it's nuts. That's undescribable, indescribable, whatever the correct.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Second, there's still music to come after this album.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we're still demoing, you know, like we never stop,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and you know, the guys sometimes get a little bit fatigue,
- 13:33Speaker 1: but you know, I've got loads of new ideas to
- 13:36Speaker 1: smash them with. And yeah, we probably already demoed maybe
- 13:41Speaker 1: nine new tracks, you know, and we're just you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: we store them, listen to them. If they still give
- 13:46Speaker 1: us a bus three four months later, if it still
- 13:48Speaker 1: has a certain energy, we'll you know, pull it out again.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah touch wood.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yes, there's no sign of you guys slowing down, So
- 13:57Speaker 2: that's that's awesome. Yeah, yeah, And this is a bit
- 14:01Speaker 2: of a different one. But how does Ray come up
- 14:04Speaker 2: with the art for the hard ones? Like does he
- 14:06Speaker 2: draw something rad and you'll go yep? Or like does
- 14:09Speaker 2: his art usually correlate with aspects of your albums or
- 14:12Speaker 2: your tours or how does that process work?
- 14:15Speaker 1: I don't really know, You'll you'll have to ask Ray.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I have a feeling, and I do remember him saying
- 14:21Speaker 1: once he likes he hates it when people ask him
- 14:25Speaker 1: to do a record cover and he go, right now,
- 14:28Speaker 1: this is what I'm out there. I want you to
- 14:30Speaker 1: draw you know this with that with my head sticking
- 14:33Speaker 1: out the back, you know, And he's like, you know,
- 14:36Speaker 1: that never feels free to me. So I think he
- 14:39Speaker 1: just loves doodling and see seeing what happens. Yeah, And
- 14:43Speaker 1: I guess because you know, he's in a band, he's
- 14:45Speaker 1: always thinking about the music. That a lot of times,
- 14:47Speaker 1: it just seems that the visual that he comes up
- 14:50Speaker 1: with does seem to fit yeah, the band aesthetically.
- 14:57Speaker 2: He's amazing. I love his art. It just seems yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 2: you guys, and really captures you guys, like I don't
- 15:03Speaker 2: think anyone else could. It's awesome.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, you know, I know some of his
- 15:08Speaker 1: biggest influences. Well, one of them was his was a
- 15:11Speaker 1: grandfather who was a really good drawer and used to
- 15:14Speaker 1: sit with him and draw with him. Taught him a
- 15:16Speaker 1: lot of basics, but he really liked, really likes Carl Barks,
- 15:22Speaker 1: who I think is to draw the early Donald Ducks
- 15:25Speaker 1: and Uncle Scrooge and stuff. He really loves him and
- 15:28Speaker 1: he loves I think it's Steve Dictough a lot one
- 15:34Speaker 1: of the early I think he drew the early Spider
- 15:38Speaker 1: Man's like a lot of comic book art. And you
- 15:40Speaker 1: know he loves Robert Crum. Yeah, just you know again,
- 15:47Speaker 1: like with music, I think his tastes are really quite broad.
- 15:50Speaker 1: He likes a lot of things, but it does obviously
- 15:53Speaker 1: tend to like a lot of comic art. So M.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And you guys have seen quite a big success over
- 16:02Speaker 2: in countries like Europe, I believe, and even Asia. How
- 16:07Speaker 2: does that?
- 16:08Speaker 1: We do well in Japan? And yeah, Europe has always
- 16:11Speaker 1: been pretty kind to us.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, when you play at home like in Australia, do
- 16:15Speaker 2: you guys still get a really good reception?
- 16:18Speaker 1: I think so, I think I think yeah, yeah, I
- 16:26Speaker 1: think so. You know again, it's like you know, you
- 16:28Speaker 1: go up and down, you know, there's obviously been many,
- 16:31Speaker 1: many lean years, you know. Then you know, like again,
- 16:34Speaker 1: when you've been around for this long, eventually people are
- 16:37Speaker 1: going to be oh fucking hell, I've seen the hard
- 16:39Speaker 1: ones twenty times in the last six months. I need
- 16:41Speaker 1: a break and you know, I hear you know, but yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 1: definitely I think we you know, and we're still like
- 16:50Speaker 1: playing live is pretty special, like you know, dragging your
- 16:53Speaker 1: amps out, setting up and you know, just to sheer
- 16:56Speaker 1: physicalness of volume is it's not good for my hearing unfortunately,
- 17:03Speaker 1: but it just it does feel fucking awesome. Yeah. I
- 17:11Speaker 1: know it's maybe not all that healthy for you for
- 17:14Speaker 1: your hearing. And I've read somewhere recently hearing last is
- 17:18Speaker 1: a real like a good step up to dementia. It's like,
- 17:24Speaker 1: oh fucking now, I'm so much to the Yeah, but yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 1: just yeah, just you know, performing live, I think people
- 17:35Speaker 1: can still see that we you know, think it just
- 17:37Speaker 1: as much as ever. And yeah, I would say yes.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And how sturing for you guys still like is it
- 17:43Speaker 2: still like you're just with your mates and it's pretty
- 17:45Speaker 2: relaxed and yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you know it can get you know, you call
- 17:49Speaker 1: a cabin fever when you've been in a van for
- 17:52Speaker 1: so long, you know, there's always going to be in
- 17:54Speaker 1: a little bit rubbing each other the wrong way. But
- 17:56Speaker 1: at the same time, in particular mean Ray, you know,
- 18:00Speaker 1: we've known each other since nineteen seventy and five, so
- 18:05Speaker 1: we can always read each other's moves. And if someone's
- 18:08Speaker 1: you know, in a bit of a mood, it's like,
- 18:10Speaker 1: you know, give him a little bit of breathing space,
- 18:12Speaker 1: give him the single room tonight, you know, let him
- 18:14Speaker 1: chill out and things like that. But yeah, you know,
- 18:17Speaker 1: we you know, like every band you know, have a
- 18:20Speaker 1: few moments, but they're really far and few between for us.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, no, that's really good. And is there a
- 18:27Speaker 2: favorite song that you guys have. I don't know if
- 18:29Speaker 2: you're allowed to tell us or not, but a favorite
- 18:31Speaker 2: song that you have from the new album?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I really like the last track called push Over.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I was really happy with that, and that was a
- 18:44Speaker 1: real late addition to the record, And that was Murray
- 18:46Speaker 1: hassling me saying there's no shoegaze on the record, So
- 18:50Speaker 1: I went, all right, mate, you want some shoe gays.
- 18:52Speaker 1: So I came in with that song. I don't know
- 18:54Speaker 1: if it's technically shoe Gaze, but it was an idea
- 18:57Speaker 1: I had for quite a while that I ready discovered,
- 19:00Speaker 1: you know when he said blah blah blah. But I'm
- 19:03Speaker 1: really pleased with it. And the very first song that
- 19:06Speaker 1: the album opens with, I like you a lot, just
- 19:10Speaker 1: lyrically it's about a little buddy of mine who you know,
- 19:13Speaker 1: I adore and I don't know. The melody is kind
- 19:17Speaker 1: of understated, and it feels like I was trying to
- 19:21Speaker 1: aim for a soul pop track and I sounds big headed,
- 19:25Speaker 1: but I think I got it, and I think it
- 19:29Speaker 1: feels really good to me. Even when we even when
- 19:32Speaker 1: we've been jamming it lately, you have to get ready
- 19:34Speaker 1: to play live. It fucking feels really nice. But there's
- 19:38Speaker 1: a lot of you know, there's a lot on this
- 19:40Speaker 1: new record. You know, always with your new record, and
- 19:43Speaker 1: you should feel this way every time, always really really
- 19:46Speaker 1: happy with what we've done.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's so good. That's how you know, you
- 19:51Speaker 2: when you feel really together and like, yeah, yeah, good job.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I would say that, but yes, exactly what you said,
- 19:59Speaker 2: Like it's it's nice when you walk away from it
- 20:01Speaker 2: happy and like, yeah, we really put out what we
- 20:03Speaker 2: wanted to and yeah.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, utterly. And you know, we always push ourselves because
- 20:08Speaker 1: I think that's one of the things that helps us
- 20:10Speaker 1: stay fresh and you know, not get stale. You know,
- 20:14Speaker 1: we never you know, I guess some bands can be
- 20:16Speaker 1: a bit more successful by sticking to some sort of
- 20:19Speaker 1: you know, I'm not going to say formula because that's
- 20:22Speaker 1: a bit mean, but you know, like, you know, they've
- 20:25Speaker 1: got a like little niche, but we're more little, you know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: Should we try this? Should we try that?
- 20:30Speaker 2: That's it?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know, on this record, I think there's
- 20:33Speaker 1: you know, one of the tracks has one of the
- 20:34Speaker 1: best guitar solos I've ever fluked on live, because doing
- 20:38Speaker 1: a guitar solo in a studio it's hard because you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: it's not as vibe as being in front of a crowd.
- 20:45Speaker 1: All that guys were staring at me like come on,
- 20:48Speaker 1: yeah something, but yeah, no, just fully happy.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Oh god, that's awesome. And where can we get all
- 20:59Speaker 2: the for about the upcoming tour in October? It starts
- 21:02Speaker 2: in October, doesn't it?
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yes? Cool? I think October the nineteenth. I think when
- 21:08Speaker 1: we get back from Europe. Yep, we've got the doco
- 21:11Speaker 1: showing first sixteenth, I think, Man, I'm so hopeless. Only
- 21:17Speaker 1: you know I had to borrow my sister's suitcase to
- 21:19Speaker 1: go to start packing. But yes, I don't really look
- 21:23Speaker 1: at stuff until you know I'm going. Yeah, yeah, but yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure it's October to nineteen. But you know
- 21:29Speaker 1: it'll be up on all the social media sites and
- 21:33Speaker 1: cheer Squad records. I think their web page has all
- 21:37Speaker 1: the touring dates of their of their bands and stuff
- 21:40Speaker 1: like that, so we want everyone to know obviously, so
- 21:43Speaker 1: we'll be plastering you guys with it.
- 21:46Speaker 2: No, it's good, it's awesome. We can't wait for its
- 21:48Speaker 2: so exciting. Thank you, Yeah, no worries. All right, well,
- 21:53Speaker 2: thank you so much, like you for having a chat
- 21:55Speaker 2: with us today. We're eager for the album and the
- 21:57Speaker 2: tour and yeah thanks again.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Wow, thank you that was really cool. Pleasure on the Fall,
- 22:07Speaker 1: Let's star.
