- 0:23Speaker 2: Hello, welcome to track Cast, the Galaxy's most unpredictable Star
- 0:28Speaker 2: Trek podcast. Actually it's not truck Cast today, it's dan Cast, right, Uh,
- 0:32Speaker 2: it's the podcast all about things Dan, Dan, Danny, Daniel,
- 0:37Speaker 2: Nathaniel sometimes get short, yeah, stretching it. Yeah, that's usually
- 0:43Speaker 2: a Nate. Yeah, Nathaniel becomes Nate.
- 0:46Speaker 3: But Dan, we talk about the D.
- 0:49Speaker 2: That's that's true. It's awful lot of a lot of
- 0:53Speaker 2: D in this room, a lot of D. Just too much,
- 0:58Speaker 2: just an obscene amount of double double double. Yeah. So
- 1:05Speaker 2: treck cass Galaxy's most unpredictable Star Trek podcast. I'm one
- 1:08Speaker 2: of your hosts. Dan with me is Daniel Reyes. I
- 1:12Speaker 2: believe Scott Bouterers is on leave.
- 1:15Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Right, he's been with us long enough that he built
- 1:18Speaker 2: up some pto.
- 1:19Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And uh, in the basement, So he won't be here today,
- 1:24Speaker 2: but he will rest assure he will get his regular
- 1:27Speaker 2: salary for that as as if he were here.
- 1:31Speaker 3: All the Latin that he gets all the Latin, that's right, man, All.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Right, yeah, you know a week older. I'm a week older.
- 1:39Speaker 2: There you go, saw some new some new star trek
- 1:42Speaker 2: this week.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I know it's been a while, it's been a while,
- 1:45Speaker 3: it's been a while. Yeah, we'll definitely talk about that.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I have thoughts and I think there they might be
- 1:52Speaker 3: counter to a lot of people.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, okay.
- 1:56Speaker 3: But yeah, man, it's been busy for me. I got
- 1:58Speaker 3: family and from out of town. Nice, so we have
- 2:01Speaker 3: been taking over everywhere we go where there's like thirty
- 2:03Speaker 3: of us.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Nice, are any of them staying with you?
- 2:07Speaker 3: Not with me? They're all in my dad's house.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But I was wondering if I was wondering if they
- 2:12Speaker 2: were you know, they had standing orders should be quiet
- 2:16Speaker 2: for the next hour.
- 2:17Speaker 3: That's right, that's right. Oh, somebody just popped in. Hold on,
- 2:21Speaker 3: there he is?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Who's this guy?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Who is this guy?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Angry? Old man?
- 2:26Speaker 4: He is?
- 2:27Speaker 2: What he looks like?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Hey?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Are you fishing?
- 2:30Speaker 5: I'm not boating.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I'm on a boat like that song, I'm on a bout.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Oh man, what's up? Where's you're away mission? What's going on?
- 2:41Speaker 2: It's top secret? Oh okay, so wait, wait a minute,
- 2:44Speaker 2: Wait a minute, Hold on a minute, Hold on a minute.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Are you alone on the boat?
- 2:49Speaker 3: I am right, now I'm out in the middle of
- 2:51Speaker 3: the lake pretty much by myself.
- 2:53Speaker 2: So uh, nautical rules, Uh, you are the captain of
- 2:57Speaker 2: that vessel. That's correct. Don't let it go to your head.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Of course, he's gonna be telling people all week. You know,
- 3:06Speaker 2: I was the captain of that.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I was the captain thirteen and a half foot aluminum
- 3:11Speaker 3: fishing boat from the nineteen seventies. How are you gonna
- 3:14Speaker 3: stand on it like Captain Morgan the leg.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Up and yeah, yeah, like Leo and Kate at the Entiti.
- 3:22Speaker 2: There you go. You're king of the world, buddy.
- 3:26Speaker 3: So I figured out we're at the end of our
- 3:28Speaker 3: camping trip. I figured I'd come out here and say
- 3:31Speaker 3: hi to you guys, and then I'm gonna go home
- 3:33Speaker 3: and watch the episode.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So he's embarrassed of us. He has to go out
- 3:36Speaker 2: to the middle.
- 3:37Speaker 3: That's right, that's right. The chat wants to know if
- 3:39Speaker 3: you're looking for the Lockess monster.
- 3:42Speaker 5: It's it's out here somewhere.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Okay, fair enough, all right, I'll catch you guys next week.
- 3:50Speaker 3: All right, I see you next week. Okay, So there
- 3:52Speaker 3: we go.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Tuck cast kick of the popping. We're all trying to pop. Hey,
- 3:58Speaker 2: this Guy's not here ten seconds, I'm here.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, exactly. Well that's how they've become a surprise, right, Yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 3: they're not supposed to be here and then they show up.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 3: All right, Well we should get to the news because
- 4:12Speaker 3: there's a lot.
- 4:13Speaker 2: All right, cool Star Trek news.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So I don't know if you know, but Comic Con
- 4:20Speaker 3: is going this weekend. So Star Trek had a panel.
- 4:24Speaker 3: They had all sorts of little tibots, nothing like, they
- 4:28Speaker 3: didn't like announce a new movie or announce a new show.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Nothing, but it's it's kind of overshadowed, yeah, by the
- 4:36Speaker 2: Spaceballs cinematic universe.
- 4:39Speaker 3: That's right, that's right. When you have Rick Moran a
- 4:43Speaker 3: show up at Comic Gun.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I know that was no guy. Guy didn't come out
- 4:48Speaker 2: for for Ghostbusters but shows the Spaceballs for Comic Con. Wow.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that was cool to say he's.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Been out of the spotlight for for a while.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad he's back man.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So our first news story comes to us from trekmovie
- 5:05Speaker 3: dot com. They did a lot of the coverage from there,
- 5:08Speaker 3: so we'll be sharing a lot of their stories. But
- 5:10Speaker 3: the first one is, you know, I thought this was
- 5:12Speaker 3: kind of interesting. We're hearing a little bit more about
- 5:15Speaker 3: the upcoming Star Trek reboot movie that people are tentatively calling.
- 5:21Speaker 3: They had some pretty interesting tidbits. You know, they can't
- 5:24Speaker 3: say too much. They're still in the writing phase. They
- 5:27Speaker 3: don't even have a full script yet. They're saying, you know,
- 5:30Speaker 3: the big thing is people will be surprised, which is
- 5:33Speaker 3: what they always say for things like this. But one
- 5:36Speaker 3: little thing that I thought was interesting that I don't
- 5:39Speaker 3: see a lot of people talking about is they say
- 5:42Speaker 3: that this will be a completely new take, a new crew,
- 5:45Speaker 3: know all that, but they says it will be a
- 5:49Speaker 3: little further in the future than we've seen before. Well,
- 5:56Speaker 3: because the rumors are this is supposed to be the
- 5:58Speaker 3: start of the Federation from the ground up reboot, right,
- 6:03Speaker 3: But how much further in the future are we going
- 6:05Speaker 3: to go?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Well, well, it can't be both of those things. If
- 6:07Speaker 2: it's further in the future from what we've seen before,
- 6:10Speaker 2: that's that's post discovery slash academy. If it's about the
- 6:17Speaker 2: founding of the Federation, well that's not that. So I
- 6:23Speaker 2: don't know who knows what they're talking about.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yeah, the only thing I can think is are they
- 6:28Speaker 3: going to set the founding of the Federation further in
- 6:31Speaker 3: the future than Disco?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh, like completely, like this complete reboot, forget everything you've
- 6:39Speaker 2: seen in the past.
- 6:40Speaker 3: We're like two hundred years from now or something like that.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean this show was first created in
- 6:49Speaker 2: the nineteen sixties, when the nineteen nineties felt like a
- 6:56Speaker 2: lifetime away, and there are events that they established in
- 7:03Speaker 2: their you know, our future, their past that you know
- 7:07Speaker 2: that that time has coming gone right. There are no
- 7:09Speaker 2: eugenics wars here, There's been no Third World War here,
- 7:14Speaker 2: so yeah, I mean, I don't know, at some point
- 7:17Speaker 2: they kind of yeah, I don't know, we covered this already,
- 7:21Speaker 2: they fixed this already with the temporal Cold War and
- 7:25Speaker 2: all that. I don't know, throwing everything in the trash.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm I don't know, I don't
- 7:30Speaker 2: know if I'm down with that all.
- 7:31Speaker 3: So we're going back to the future. Yeah, yeah, exactly,
- 7:35Speaker 3: but Chikwatz exactly. So yeah, I just thought that was
- 7:40Speaker 3: a weird kind of tip in. We're also I know, Dan,
- 7:44Speaker 3: you're very excited about Surfleet Academy season two, and we're
- 7:48Speaker 3: learning a little bit more about that. According to deadline.
- 7:51Speaker 3: We are going to be getting a new uh series regular.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I hear that's where that's where I keep it.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so that that'll be the character, this guy Arlington.
- 8:08Speaker 3: So I don't know anything about his character. He'll be
- 8:12Speaker 3: a new one. I don't care.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I don't care. Yeah, I don't care. The show is
- 8:16Speaker 2: already canceled, right, the show's already canceled. Nothing that happens
- 8:22Speaker 2: in this season will matter.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the lame Duck show.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Also we got an official announcement. You know, people
- 8:34Speaker 3: love that starship Enterprise Lego, and now we're gonna get
- 8:37Speaker 3: a transporter Room to be coming out December. First, it's
- 8:42Speaker 3: the transporter room and the bridge combined together, so you
- 8:45Speaker 3: get them both. Get a bunch of minifigs before I
- 8:48Speaker 3: take you the price, Dan, how much do you think
- 8:50Speaker 3: that costs.
- 8:51Speaker 2: The transporter or the it's the two of.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Them to combine. It's the bridge and the transporter.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Oh, the two of them together, how together? How many
- 9:00Speaker 2: pieces is it?
- 9:01Speaker 3: Let me see, I don't know if it says, oh
- 9:04Speaker 3: there it is, uh seventeen oh one pieces.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they do that sometimes, be cute. I'm gonna say
- 9:14Speaker 2: that is a four hundred dollars set.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Close, not really about two hundred bucks.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Oh all right, that's I thought it would be.
- 9:24Speaker 3: It says the four hundred enterprise dollar Enterprise. Yeah, so
- 9:30Speaker 3: this will be coming out September first, so uh, I'm
- 9:33Speaker 3: sure it'll sell out just like the Enterprise. So yeah, yeah, okay, yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I thought that was kind of fun. And then our
- 9:39Speaker 3: last news story because I'm gonna try to save the
- 9:41Speaker 3: best for last, and I wanted you people to be excited.
- 9:46Speaker 3: But finally you guys can breathe easy. Star Trek Scouts
- 9:50Speaker 3: will be returning starting to Sumber eighth, So at long last,
- 9:56Speaker 3: Star Trek Scouts will return the best Star Trek.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, I've never seen it. I didn't even try. Didn't
- 10:03Speaker 2: even try.
- 10:04Speaker 3: You didn't want to see the big booger asteroid try
- 10:08Speaker 3: to attack the planet?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Nah?
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah, which is an actual storyline from that show. So yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 3: it's for the kids. Whatever, it's yeah, it's inoffensive, it's
- 10:20Speaker 3: just it's for them whatever.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Okay, all right, so there you go. That's all the
- 10:24Speaker 3: Star Trek news. Well, should we get to our main topic,
- 10:30Speaker 3: the big reviews?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Sure?
- 10:32Speaker 5: All right, fun will now comment.
- 10:37Speaker 3: All right, So we just had this season for premiere
- 10:40Speaker 3: of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. From here on out,
- 10:43Speaker 3: it's new episodes every week for the next ten weeks.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I think it is, Yeah, ten weeks, so pretty cool. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 3: so this season premiered, I got the Rotten Tomatoes score.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I thought this was kind of interesting because when it
- 10:58Speaker 3: first dropped, Paramount was touting that the season had a
- 11:02Speaker 3: perfect rating. Since then it has dropped a little bit
- 11:07Speaker 3: to eighty percent. Yeah, and a's seventy four percent from
- 11:10Speaker 3: the fans. So still good numbers, but not not the
- 11:14Speaker 3: one hundred that they were doubting. So there you go.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Do you have a synopsis or do you want going
- 11:22Speaker 2: to just throw something.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Out there or I do not have a synopsis?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Okay, So basically, Admiral April is on the ship. He
- 11:32Speaker 2: sends them on a mission to go witness some sort
- 11:37Speaker 2: of stellar event. I don't remember exactly what it was.
- 11:40Speaker 2: They get some sort of eruption they get they get
- 11:45Speaker 2: thrown through time right, come to find out they are
- 11:51Speaker 2: six or five billion years in the past. There's a
- 11:56Speaker 2: planetary system. They they go on this play on it
- 12:00Speaker 2: to find the mcguffin that they need to get back
- 12:04Speaker 2: to their own their own time enterprise. A bunch of
- 12:09Speaker 2: the systems are down, they get attacked by another ship.
- 12:12Speaker 2: They get captured by another ship. Long story short, the
- 12:15Speaker 2: people who capture them are Martians. They're sixty five billion
- 12:19Speaker 2: years in the past. There's a space bearing civilization on
- 12:23Speaker 2: Mars that's being threatened by a species on another planet
- 12:28Speaker 2: in that Solar System, which is not Earth. Earth is
- 12:32Speaker 2: full of dinosaurs at this point. It turns out that's
- 12:34Speaker 2: the planet they were on looking for their their their mcguffins.
- 12:41Speaker 2: What's that.
- 12:42Speaker 3: That's the twist.
- 12:43Speaker 2: That's the twist. The Martians want the weapons on the
- 12:49Speaker 2: Enterprise to use in their war against this other species.
- 12:53Speaker 2: They're gonna wipe them out. Captain Pike has got to
- 12:57Speaker 2: choose between the Prime Director of the temporal Prime Directive genocide.
- 13:04Speaker 2: They steal the weapons off the Enterprise. They're going to
- 13:07Speaker 2: use them to destroy this other species. Pike chooses to
- 13:13Speaker 2: let them do that because he realizes that not letting
- 13:17Speaker 2: them do that would alter sixty five billion years of
- 13:21Speaker 2: history for our timeline. So the Martians destroy the other planet.
- 13:30Speaker 2: It causes Mars orbit to shift, making it uninhabitable, wiping
- 13:36Speaker 2: out the Martians. A chunk of the planet crashes into Earth,
- 13:41Speaker 2: kills the dinosaurs, and intelligent life develops on Earth, and
- 13:47Speaker 2: the timeline proceeds how originally it was supposed to, So
- 13:53Speaker 2: the crew of the Enterprise cause the beginning of life
- 13:57Speaker 2: on Earth. That's the story or in a nutshell, very
- 14:02Speaker 2: very classic Trek story idea. Yeah, saw it coming a
- 14:07Speaker 2: mile away.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Saw it coming a mile away. Still, it was a
- 14:13Speaker 2: fun episode. I think goes goes against some already established canon.
- 14:18Speaker 3: But whatever. At this point, Oh no, we just lost Dan.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Hopefully he pops back up soon. Yeah. As Dan was saying,
- 14:28Speaker 3: it was a fun episode, I do think that it
- 14:32Speaker 3: was kind of funny that, you know, star Trek bravely
- 14:36Speaker 3: saying that the ethical answer is, you know, sometimes you
- 14:40Speaker 3: need a little bit of a genocide, which was funny
- 14:43Speaker 3: to me. You know what, while we're waiting for Dan
- 14:45Speaker 3: to pop up, we did also get a little bit
- 14:48Speaker 3: from our correspondent out in New York, Devall, So let
- 14:52Speaker 3: me play that video and uh, and then we'll get
- 14:56Speaker 3: back with.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Dan Sollo, Trek casters Just Greno Truck cass Is m
- 15:02Speaker 6: i C. Freelance correspondent at mc hale's Bar and Grill
- 15:06Speaker 6: in New York City. Tonight, we are going to view
- 15:10Speaker 6: Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season four, episode one premiere,
- 15:15Speaker 6: hosted by Geek Life Rules. I wonder if this place
- 15:20Speaker 6: is as good as Quarks. Ah, let's see about betting.
- 15:23Speaker 7: That latinum on that.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Well, how you doing?
- 15:32Speaker 7: M I s freelance correspondent for truk Ass it's a
- 15:35Speaker 7: Star Trek podcast. I'll just here just you know, check
- 15:39Speaker 7: out the premiere.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So yeah, So there's a Devall's video. We're gonna play
- 15:52Speaker 3: the rest of it on our social media's. It's a
- 15:55Speaker 3: it's a good video.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Was that Curtis Sliwa I saw at the end with
- 15:59Speaker 2: the red.
- 16:03Speaker 3: There was somebody in a brand. I wondered about that.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So so, uh, you know, Duval, we talked it over.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You've been the Trek cast freelance New York City correspondent
- 16:13Speaker 2: for quite some time, and uh, you do a great
- 16:16Speaker 2: job staying on top of all the New York City
- 16:19Speaker 2: related Star Trek stuff. And we talked it over, and
- 16:25Speaker 2: we don't want you to be freelance anymore. We want
- 16:27Speaker 2: to we want to bring you on staff. We want
- 16:29Speaker 2: to bring you into the fold. We want you to
- 16:33Speaker 2: be a full fledged member of the Trek cast team
- 16:38Speaker 2: with all the salary and benefits that go with it. Yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 2: you know, very competitive, very competitive benefits package that comes
- 16:49Speaker 2: with it. But either way, thank you for doing what
- 16:51Speaker 2: you Yes, thank you. And now we're going to put
- 16:53Speaker 2: a link. We're going to put a link up in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the Facebook group so you can see the rest of
- 16:58Speaker 2: duvals uhvideo.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, there was a lot of It's a
- 17:02Speaker 3: fun video. I think you guys will enjoy it. Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Have you been to that bard Michael's.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I have not. No, No, okay, it's sorry about my
- 17:10Speaker 2: quick exit. I don't know what happened there. Yeah, that
- 17:12Speaker 2: was weird. Stream Yard was just like nope, yes.
- 17:16Speaker 3: You're not talking about Star Trek today.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Nope, it just reset. Yeah nah, yeah, I don't know
- 17:21Speaker 2: what happened. So if it happens again, just sit tight.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'll be right back.
- 17:25Speaker 3: There you go. So what do you think of the episode?
- 17:27Speaker 3: Did you like it?
- 17:28Speaker 2: Did you not? I? You know, I enjoyed it. I
- 17:30Speaker 2: did like it. Yeah, I enjoyed it. It was it
- 17:33Speaker 2: was Star Trek. It was classic, classic Star Trek. You know,
- 17:41Speaker 2: Like I said, it kind of goes against some of
- 17:44Speaker 2: the established canon, you know, they they they interpret the
- 17:52Speaker 2: the prime directive pretty loosely, sometimes depending on the needs
- 17:56Speaker 2: of the of the episode. Yeah, if I'm not mistaken,
- 18:00Speaker 2: they were they were pre warp, right, the Martians.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe that was the case. But they did
- 18:06Speaker 3: have technology that the Federation didn't have, Like they could
- 18:09Speaker 3: they could walk through walls.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so I mean once they knew they were
- 18:15Speaker 2: pre warp, I don't know, they're really not. H I
- 18:19Speaker 2: don't think they're supposed to have contact with them like at.
- 18:21Speaker 3: All, right, but they also have spaceships, so like it's.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess, I guess, but like giving them a
- 18:29Speaker 2: tour of the ship and showing them like there's stuff,
- 18:33Speaker 2: showing them the goods, like I didn't, I don't know.
- 18:35Speaker 2: That didn't sit right with me. I didn't really understand. Yeah,
- 18:39Speaker 2: you know, I feel like I feel like Picard would
- 18:42Speaker 2: have been like, nope, set the self destruct, ye get
- 18:45Speaker 2: off my ship, or we're all going down with it. Well,
- 18:48Speaker 2: and I was crime directive is just that, it's the
- 18:51Speaker 2: prime directive. It's the most important one. You know, they
- 18:55Speaker 2: used to call it General Order one.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so when you dropped off, I was saying that
- 19:01Speaker 3: it was kind of funny to me that Star Trek
- 19:03Speaker 3: was bravely saying, you know, sometimes genocide's okay.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, what well here's well, yeah, here's the thing.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Stopping them from committing genocide causes genocide, right, Okay, so
- 19:23Speaker 2: you stop them from killing the bug people, and in turn,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you kill all of the humans whoever existed, ever, right, ever,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and then when you once he realizes like the chain
- 19:39Speaker 2: of events, it's like, well, you know, in my time,
- 19:42Speaker 2: those people are already dead. Those people have been dead
- 19:44Speaker 2: for sixty five billion years. Yeah, so it's really not genocide.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Right, Charie Ryme, I threw a rock fifty sixty five
- 19:56Speaker 3: million years ago and it caused a podcast to exist, exactly, Jacob.
- 20:02Speaker 2: So Thanos was right, sure, sure, there's no winning that argument.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Yeah, which is what it says. It's a no win scenario.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yep.
- 20:13Speaker 2: So in a no win scenario, you just have to.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Lose less, right Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 2: So okay, one, you know, one species that's already dead
- 20:25Speaker 2: will continue to be dead or not to put more
- 20:29Speaker 2: value on one species, but you know, these people are
- 20:31Speaker 2: already dead. They did nothing right in his in his
- 20:37Speaker 2: time frame, whereas humans we're founding members of the Federation.
- 20:45Speaker 2: This this organization that does its best to perform peaceful
- 20:52Speaker 2: exploration and and see the galaxy with peaceful coexistence. Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 2: I choose the Federation.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I thought it was funny at the beginning of the
- 21:07Speaker 3: episode they show Pike and a couple of the other
- 21:10Speaker 3: crew members dressed up as cowboys on some other random
- 21:13Speaker 3: planet just runner, you know, on horses and all that,
- 21:17Speaker 3: and like, to me, it felt really like, we have
- 21:20Speaker 3: no reason to do this, we just want to put
- 21:23Speaker 3: them in Cowboy out of its.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think what they were trying to
- 21:30Speaker 2: show is I think it was like a they're showing
- 21:35Speaker 2: a reset for the season. Yeah, all right, whole bunch
- 21:38Speaker 2: of stuff happened last season. Everything's back to normal. Now.
- 21:42Speaker 2: They're having their adventures of the week, just like the
- 21:45Speaker 2: old Star Trek where one week they're on the Roman
- 21:48Speaker 2: planet and the next week they're on the Old West planet.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You know, right now they're in the Old West, right,
- 21:54Speaker 2: just just go with it. And somebody was somebody was
- 21:56Speaker 2: talking online saying where did the horses come from? How
- 21:59Speaker 2: are their horses on this this other planet? And to that,
- 22:03Speaker 2: I will say, how are there beings that look like
- 22:07Speaker 2: humans on every planet they go to in Star Trek. Ever,
- 22:11Speaker 2: because they've established this idea of parallel evolution, they talked
- 22:17Speaker 2: about it a couple of times in a couple different episodes,
- 22:21Speaker 2: where you know, life will just evolve this way. Well,
- 22:26Speaker 2: if that's true for humanoids, I would say it's true
- 22:31Speaker 2: for other animals. There's likely other Earth like planets out there.
- 22:36Speaker 2: There are likely horse like, horse like beings on those planets.
- 22:40Speaker 2: There are frog like beings on those planets. There are
- 22:43Speaker 2: fish like beings on those planets. So those aren't Those
- 22:48Speaker 2: aren't horses. Those are Katarian horses or whatever planet they
- 22:55Speaker 2: were on. I just pulled that name out exactly.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Whatever. Yeah, that's all there. I did like the Martian costumes.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I thought those were fun.
- 23:03Speaker 2: They looked very like nineteen like what the nineteen forties
- 23:07Speaker 2: and fifties thought Martians would look like, which is great,
- 23:11Speaker 2: which is good.
- 23:12Speaker 3: I look forward to seeing them at Startic conventions in
- 23:15Speaker 3: the future as people cause play as these Martians.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I like how they you know, they're green because
- 23:21Speaker 2: little green men, Little green men, yeah, little green men. Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I like how they were taller because the gravity difference. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 2: that was that was good. I enjoyed that.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah all so BoJack Horseman planet maybe who's to say?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so one thing that do you remember the episode
- 23:45Speaker 2: of Voyager Distant Origin.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Oh with the dinosaur people?
- 23:49Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, So where are those dinosaur people at
- 23:53Speaker 2: this point?
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah? Did those dinosaurs build their spaceship and take off?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Were they on the other side of the planet when
- 24:00Speaker 2: all this was going on?
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, this thought the asteroid coming and like we
- 24:05Speaker 3: got to get out, like they're done.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I just I just thought it would have
- 24:11Speaker 2: been they could have had they could have had the
- 24:15Speaker 2: other species be those dinosaur people. Yeah, somehow, And the
- 24:21Speaker 2: end of the episode is them leaving in a massive
- 24:26Speaker 2: ship and you know where they headed. It looks like
- 24:28Speaker 2: they're headed towards the Delta quadrant. Well that's somebody else's problem.
- 24:32Speaker 2: And Pike and crew go back to back to the future. Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Or they they even sold like the schematics for an
- 24:39Speaker 3: engine from the Enterprise and that's how they have an
- 24:42Speaker 3: engine to do that. You know whatever, you could have
- 24:45Speaker 3: done it, yeah yeah. Oh what did we think about
- 24:49Speaker 3: the whole thing with lawn her her DNA is activating potentially.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And yeah, I said this a couple of years ago
- 24:57Speaker 2: that if she's the if she's the descendant of these augments,
- 25:02Speaker 2: than she herself is augmented. So yeah, do you.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Think that will turn into something like, what we get
- 25:09Speaker 3: a lawn as Crazy episode or.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I don't know if we'll get a lawn as Crazy episode.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But you know, she's a character that was created for
- 25:18Speaker 2: this show, and there's no mention of her in tos
- 25:22Speaker 2: or the Tos era movies. So at some point, you know,
- 25:28Speaker 2: there has to be I don't know, I feel like
- 25:31Speaker 2: maybe she she dies at the end of the show. Yeah,
- 25:35Speaker 2: there has to be a reason why she's not around
- 25:38Speaker 2: and her like, I don't know, I feel like she's
- 25:44Speaker 2: not happy about being an augment So maybe she has
- 25:47Speaker 2: some sort of personal redemption story arc that leads to
- 25:52Speaker 2: her demise. I don't know.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I mean, I think you do, you do? I mean
- 25:58Speaker 3: it would be the typical arc. You do the Lawna's
- 26:01Speaker 3: Crazy episode, right, and then you do like a few
- 26:05Speaker 3: episodes later, maybe in season five you do. Now Lana
- 26:08Speaker 3: has to sacrifice herself, and she's at peace with it
- 26:11Speaker 3: because she knows she's got this thing inside of her,
- 26:14Speaker 3: but sacrificing to herself show she's a good person. Yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 3: it's her redemption and.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I think her love story with Spock that could be
- 26:25Speaker 2: the reason why in TS he is so much more
- 26:29Speaker 2: logical and Vulcan like than he is right now. Yeah
- 26:33Speaker 2: this show, maybe the loss of her is what causes
- 26:37Speaker 2: him to double down on uh pursuing the colon ar
- 26:42Speaker 2: and just purging all all of that stuff because I
- 26:45Speaker 2: don't want to feel that ever again.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Yeah, makes sense, but they won't do that. No, No,
- 26:55Speaker 3: a Wolf Rockham Sockham Dinosaurs, the dinos hatic coming.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I would love to be able to say I punched
- 27:04Speaker 2: a dinosaur. I mean that's like the ultimate flex. Yes,
- 27:08Speaker 2: a dinosaur in his face.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Oh No, we lost Dan again and I was just
- 27:13Speaker 3: gonna ask him may wolves question. Thoughts on the new Vulcan. Yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 3: we did get a new Vulcan character. She was working
- 27:20Speaker 3: with Ahura, some sort of new recruit from the academy.
- 27:28Speaker 3: You know. I thought that was interesting that they brought
- 27:31Speaker 3: in a new character like that, especially when we're so
- 27:34Speaker 3: close to the end of the show. The the other
- 27:37Speaker 3: thing that was kind of unique about it that I
- 27:41Speaker 3: would say is it almost felt like a write off
- 27:44Speaker 3: at the end of the At the end of the episode,
- 27:46Speaker 3: when they mentioned that okay, oh dance back.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yes, stream stream Yard sucks today. I don't know. I
- 27:52Speaker 2: don't know what keeps dropping me.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but a Wolf was asking about the new Vulcan character.
- 27:59Speaker 3: What do we think about about that new character? I
- 28:03Speaker 3: almost felt like it was a write off, like they
- 28:05Speaker 3: were getting rid of her at the end, because yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 3: I don't know, did they say like, oh, she doesn't
- 28:09Speaker 3: want to deal with the with the crew, they're too chaotic,
- 28:14Speaker 3: it's too.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if we're gonna see her again.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I sure you didn't like her too bitchy at
- 28:20Speaker 3: their social Not all Vulcans are like that. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 3: you know, maybe this is how we get Dug back,
- 28:28Speaker 3: Dug the Vulcan. It's her dad or something like that,
- 28:31Speaker 3: like she hates humans and he's like, oh I want
- 28:33Speaker 3: to know more about him.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, yep, yeah, I forget
- 28:38Speaker 2: about yeah yeah, yeah. It took me a minute.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a year exactly. It's been quite the
- 28:44Speaker 3: year for sure.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:46Speaker 3: It's just a thought. Who maybe they have nothing to
- 28:49Speaker 3: do with each other, but maybe so.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Yeah, overall, I enjoyed it. It was a good episode.
- 28:55Speaker 2: It was it was an episode of Star Trek.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it was fun overall. Yeah it hopefully they're more
- 29:01Speaker 3: like this. They did say it Comic Con that this season,
- 29:05Speaker 3: every episode is a different genre, so taking those big swings, okay, yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 3: and then I guess they premiered episode two at like
- 29:17Speaker 3: a movie theater by Comic Con and people said it
- 29:20Speaker 3: was a lot of fun, so okay, yeah, so there
- 29:23Speaker 3: we go.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I completely forgot about this and then what what day
- 29:28Speaker 2: does it come out? Comes out? Thursday?
- 29:30Speaker 3: Thursdays.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I completely forgot about it. And then uh,
- 29:34Speaker 2: Friday night, I was like, oh, oh, there's there's new
- 29:38Speaker 2: Star Trek and it's the one.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I like, that's right, that's right, how exciting?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yep?
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean I'm looking forward to the next one.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Next week's gonna be tough. I mean, I gotta see
- 29:53Speaker 3: Strange Worlds, but man Spider Man comes out and I
- 29:55Speaker 3: need to go see that though.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I gotta buy tickets. I gotta figure out
- 29:58Speaker 2: where I'm going and just go online and buy tickets
- 30:01Speaker 2: because I know that the day after they're just gonna.
- 30:05Speaker 3: It's everything's gonna be spoiled people.
- 30:07Speaker 2: People are such assholes, they really are.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so it'll it'll be tough.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I need to see it right away too.
- 30:14Speaker 2: For that same reason, I think, when I get off
- 30:16Speaker 2: the when I got off the pod here, I'm gonna
- 30:18Speaker 2: find the earliest showing in my town and just buy tickets.
- 30:22Speaker 2: And if I gotta, if I gotta take a day
- 30:23Speaker 2: off of work, happened, That's That's what I'll do.
- 30:27Speaker 3: And it's worth it, man, It's worth it. So all right,
- 30:31Speaker 3: Well yeah, that's pretty much all about this episode. Should
- 30:34Speaker 3: we get to listener feedback? Yeah, let's do it, all right,
- 30:39Speaker 3: listener feedback. All right, So we're doing listener feedback real quick.
- 30:44Speaker 3: If you want to join us, we are on all
- 30:47Speaker 3: the social media's. You can find us on trek cast,
- 30:50Speaker 3: TNG on Facebook, on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, x whatever
- 30:58Speaker 3: you want to call it, threads, We're all over there.
- 31:01Speaker 3: We'll be happy to interact with you. Also, if you
- 31:04Speaker 3: want to join us live on the show, X up
- 31:06Speaker 3: in the chat just with the next and I'll send
- 31:09Speaker 3: you the link to join us. But before we get
- 31:12Speaker 3: to that, we did get a voicemail, which, of course
- 31:14Speaker 3: you can leave US voice mails at five seven zero
- 31:17Speaker 3: six six one zero zero zero one. That's five seven
- 31:21Speaker 3: zero six six one zero zero zero one. We did
- 31:24Speaker 3: get a voicemail. I don't know who left it. He
- 31:27Speaker 3: didn't say his name. He actually sent us two voicemails,
- 31:31Speaker 3: but the first one cut off after about three seconds,
- 31:34Speaker 3: so I'm just playing the second part. So here we go.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Let's get right this time. Anyone else think this episode
- 31:42Speaker 4: was on the city on the Edge of Forever type thing,
- 31:46Speaker 4: But episode it's good. The one thing I would have
- 31:51Speaker 4: changed was said of the bugs have the boss, the
- 31:54Speaker 4: dinosaurs from Earth that went to the top of Quattion
- 31:56Speaker 4: and the voyagers hang out and we could have that
- 32:00Speaker 4: conflict and whatnot. Overall, not batt of the season. And
- 32:04Speaker 4: for the new trailer that was released Saturday, Ah trains
- 32:08Speaker 4: back and you could see Q Judge uniform in the background. Anyways,
- 32:13Speaker 4: looks great, so far.
- 32:15Speaker 3: There you go.
- 32:17Speaker 2: The penguin has spoken great great minds. Yeah, great minds,
- 32:21Speaker 2: think alike.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I did not catch that huge Judge uniform in the background.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I did not see that either.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, So it.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Looks like Thursday at noon is the first showing of
- 32:36Speaker 2: Spider Man there you go in my town. So I'm
- 32:39Speaker 2: looking at seats right now. Oh, all these seats are available.
- 32:42Speaker 3: You're gonna get the popcorn bucket too.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Ah.
- 32:47Speaker 3: No, I'm not big intan those things either.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I haven't gotten any of them ever.
- 32:54Speaker 3: I got the he Man cups and that's all I needed. Okay, Yeah,
- 32:58Speaker 3: I got he Man and I got Skeletor and it's great.
- 33:00Speaker 3: So paid way too much for them for cups. But yeah, yeah,
- 33:05Speaker 3: all right, we got people on the line. Uh, Jacob
- 33:07Speaker 3: and Chas Biz. Jacob came on first, so let's get
- 33:10Speaker 3: Jacob and then we'll get Chas Biz. Hey, Jacob, are
- 33:13Speaker 3: you doing he.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Sorry about it? Remember that's right?
- 33:18Speaker 8: Hey, that first episode made was great?
- 33:22Speaker 3: You liked it.
- 33:24Speaker 8: I think it started off on a high note.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh we we had a lot of feedback about it.
- 33:29Speaker 3: People seem to love it.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Uh.
- 33:31Speaker 3: The only thing that seems to be popping up is
- 33:32Speaker 3: people wanted Pike to ride the the t Rex.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Oh. I mean he's got the saddle. He's got the saddle.
- 33:39Speaker 8: Why not, know, he needs the whip and he needs
- 33:42Speaker 8: to the end of Jones.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Hat I want Star Trek Dino riders. Why not?
- 33:45Speaker 1: Let's do it starts.
- 33:49Speaker 2: That's a deep cut.
- 33:50Speaker 3: That is a deep cut. Baby.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I thought they were on a planet with with dinosaurs.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I didn't expect the time travel to actually be a
- 34:00Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 3: What was your favorite part about the episode?
- 34:04Speaker 1: Probably the just the visual effects when they're so in
- 34:07Speaker 1: the enterprise, going through the fire storms.
- 34:10Speaker 8: The whole episode. Mostly just the visual thanks were just stunning.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that that's never been the problem with
- 34:18Speaker 3: any of these shows, the effects, like it all looks great.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, speaking of visuals, Nurse Chapel was in this episode.
- 34:26Speaker 2: That's just pointing that out. Yes, I'm sorry.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Well, Starship in Dinosaurs is the new Cadillac and Dinosaurs.
- 34:38Speaker 8: There you go, there's a yeah, dress and part meets
- 34:41Speaker 8: star Trek.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:43Speaker 8: Yeah, you could really add Jeff Gobloom in the series.
- 34:46Speaker 3: That would be fun. Oh Jeff Blue gold Bloom as
- 34:50Speaker 3: an evil admiral boy. Oh oh Crossbects as the voicemails me.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Oh thanks man, awesome. Yeah, I hope you like being
- 35:00Speaker 3: a penguin.
- 35:05Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah, no, no bad complaints about this episode at all.
- 35:10Speaker 8: The rest of the shows like this until.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Who's your favorite character on uh Strength Worlds?
- 35:17Speaker 2: Besides chapel.
- 35:20Speaker 8: Yeah, I didn't want to make that obvious.
- 35:23Speaker 3: That's fair. I'm a big fan of a Mega.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I really like the Mega. Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they're all. They're all my favorite honestly. I
- 35:33Speaker 1: love I love the new Kirk. He's becoming a slow favorite.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I love his charisma. I feel like, if you have
- 35:41Speaker 1: more scenes with k the charisma and the style, you
- 35:44Speaker 1: can just bring it on. Yeah, but well, is there
- 35:48Speaker 1: an if you Okay, I was gonna say, is there
- 35:52Speaker 1: any word on the spin off show we're supposed to
- 35:54Speaker 1: get with Kirk?
- 35:55Speaker 3: Not yet, and and it's hard to say because right
- 35:57Speaker 3: now nothing is in production.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So yeah, I feel like Strange New World deserves their
- 36:05Speaker 1: own movie.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Yeah maybe. I I know that they played the comic
- 36:11Speaker 3: Con trailer that they released that's like a teaser for
- 36:14Speaker 3: the rest of the season, and it ends with Scottie
- 36:17Speaker 3: giving some sort of report to Kirk as Kirk is
- 36:20Speaker 3: the captain. So I don't know if that's like a
- 36:23Speaker 3: like a future clip or an alternate dimension they're in,
- 36:28Speaker 3: but they definitely want you to think Kirk is in charge.
- 36:31Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I mean they gotta Hopefully they'll bring
- 36:35Speaker 1: on checkof and Suits soon.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that would be So last.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Week was the tenth anniversary of the Started Beyond. Watched
- 36:44Speaker 1: that last night?
- 36:45Speaker 3: Oh nice Bones, they have Bones for next season, Yeah, Shane.
- 36:52Speaker 8: So that looked them up.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah so Bones is really hard to pick a character
- 36:58Speaker 1: to play bones.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but alright, guys, look, yeah, thanks, thanks, good to
- 37:08Speaker 1: see you, all.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Right, and then uh, in this Celestial Temple as always
- 37:12Speaker 3: with the prophets walking with the profits. I love that
- 37:15Speaker 3: he always puts his hands up when I say that,
- 37:18Speaker 3: like he's under arrest. The Celestial Temple. There's jazz Visit's
- 37:23Speaker 3: going on.
- 37:25Speaker 5: How not much? Tell you guys?
- 37:27Speaker 3: Good what'd you think of the episode?
- 37:30Speaker 5: I liked it.
- 37:31Speaker 9: You know, it's like if we had dinosaurs, we had
- 37:34Speaker 9: aliens martians. Yeah, and the only thing I wish is.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Can we get out of our solar system?
- 37:41Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, it's all in the Milky Way, isn't it.
- 37:46Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 37:46Speaker 5: Man, everything seems a little too close, you know.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think like, isn't the whole Alpha quadrant
- 37:52Speaker 3: the Milky Way?
- 37:53Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no, I.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Think I did, But I think I don't think that'll
- 37:59Speaker 2: interstell her.
- 38:00Speaker 9: Know that they don't go to other galaxies. Right, we're
- 38:02Speaker 9: just all in the milky.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Way, right, Yeah, it's all the milky way. Yeah yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 3: oh all uh, able says, are the set still up?
- 38:13Speaker 3: Then no they're not. They took them all down for
- 38:16Speaker 3: strange New worlds or yeah for everything world. Yeah, everything
- 38:21Speaker 3: got torn down.
- 38:22Speaker 9: And I knew Academy did. Yeah, but I didn't know
- 38:25Speaker 9: schange new worlds. Yes, that got taken down. So that sucks,
- 38:29Speaker 9: you know because actually.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Respects as the penguin fits on black and white. No nice?
- 38:37Speaker 2: Nice?
- 38:38Speaker 5: Uh you guys? Yeah, go ahead, What did you guys
- 38:42Speaker 5: think of? Oh?
- 38:44Speaker 9: I just went blank of the the graphics of the dinosaur.
- 38:48Speaker 9: Were they using the the volume set or what I mean?
- 38:53Speaker 3: It looked like the volume of me. It didn't look
- 38:54Speaker 3: like they were out anywhere, and you know, trying to
- 38:57Speaker 3: pretend that it was past Earth. But as far as
- 39:01Speaker 3: the look of the dinosaurs, I thought they were good.
- 39:04Speaker 3: There a little trick in movie making you can pre
- 39:07Speaker 3: buy digital assets like fake dinosaurs, faked lions, fake tigers,
- 39:13Speaker 3: and just drop them into your program and do whatever
- 39:15Speaker 3: you want with them. So to me, it looked like that, yeah, okay,
- 39:20Speaker 3: like they may have bought a kit and then maybe
- 39:22Speaker 3: textured it a little bit different, like just adjust it, yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 3: a little bit. I mean it's either that or develop
- 39:29Speaker 3: them from scratch and that's millions and millions of dollars,
- 39:32Speaker 3: or buy it for forty bucks online and then just
- 39:35Speaker 3: use like.
- 39:35Speaker 5: Cheap AI tricks or something.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I can only imagine, like some of the conversations,
- 39:41Speaker 2: we need a dinastas. Don't worry, I got a dinosaur guy.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm over here.
- 39:45Speaker 2: You don't like you're building a house. Don't worry. I
- 39:47Speaker 2: got electricians.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Don't worry.
- 39:49Speaker 2: You got a drivewall guy. Don't worry. I got a
- 39:51Speaker 2: dinosaur guy. He's the best. He's the best.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I would say. I was a little disappointed that the
- 39:55Speaker 3: dinosaurs weren't more more accurate to what we know Nowaday
- 40:00Speaker 3: is like the t rex covered in feathers and you know, yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 3: they went with just traditional what what people think?
- 40:07Speaker 9: You know, I was hopping to ride the raptors like
- 40:09Speaker 9: tontons or something. You know, it's just like very instead
- 40:14Speaker 9: of horses at the beginning, would be like a raptor.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Yeah, everyone want start tridynal riders.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Man, It's it's like, how cool is that?
- 40:24Speaker 9: I mean, you pulling that out of your butt. That's
- 40:25Speaker 9: pretty good because I haven't seen Dino Riders and yours. Yeah,
- 40:31Speaker 9: it's like those toys are always so cool that my
- 40:33Speaker 9: mom was like, Nope, you're not getting those.
- 40:35Speaker 3: They're so expensive. It's ridiculous.
- 40:39Speaker 5: They are very expensive back then. I remember, look at those,
- 40:43Speaker 5: that's the coolest looking toy. He's like, no, you're just
- 40:45Speaker 5: getting g I Joe. Shut up, kid? What hey?
- 40:48Speaker 2: Hey, hey, hey you mean just Joe.
- 40:51Speaker 3: That's right, that's Dan's buddy.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Yeah, whoa, hey, I know what sight you're on.
- 40:57Speaker 10: Dan.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I know he stocks and the other the other.
- 41:01Speaker 9: I saw you one day on there and I was like, oh,
- 41:05Speaker 9: I thought you're posting on trek Cast and I was like,
- 41:08Speaker 9: he posted g I Joe stuff on it?
- 41:10Speaker 3: What Yeah?
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm kind of a big deal elsewhere too. Yeah
- 41:17Speaker 2: he is.
- 41:18Speaker 5: He's a bigger deal than that. He doesn't need you, guys.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Nice, That's just how it is, man. All right, Well,
- 41:30Speaker 3: anything you're looking forward to.
- 41:31Speaker 9: You in the season or well this season more Nurse Chapel.
- 41:38Speaker 9: I wonder when Scotty's gonna take over, because you know,
- 41:42Speaker 9: Carol Caine, I like her, but I don't like her
- 41:44Speaker 9: as this character.
- 41:45Speaker 2: She does nothing for me. She does absolutely nothing for me.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I'm just waiting for her to make her exit. Yes,
- 41:52Speaker 2: it's not entertaining, it's not funny. It's it's annoying.
- 41:57Speaker 3: I know people love the doctor who referenced the fact
- 41:59Speaker 3: that she was like I've seen this before from a
- 42:01Speaker 3: phone booth and people were so excited. It's so it
- 42:06Speaker 3: felt so ham fisted to me, like it just did
- 42:09Speaker 3: not fit.
- 42:11Speaker 9: Yeah, and and I don't know, and like maybe if
- 42:15Speaker 9: she didn't have the accent, the bad accent on there
- 42:18Speaker 9: and just yeah, and maybe took a little more seriously,
- 42:22Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 42:22Speaker 5: It's she's almost like a totally different character on the show.
- 42:26Speaker 3: She she feels like a Tim Burton character show yea.
- 42:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I feel like she's playing the ferry off of
- 42:34Speaker 9: Scrooge or whatever.
- 42:35Speaker 5: She's gonna get him with the toaster or something.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, Like in a Tim Burton movie, that character is
- 42:41Speaker 3: great and and it's totally fun. But in this it
- 42:44Speaker 3: does not fit. Man, it really doesn't.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think I don't know. And I saw
- 42:53Speaker 5: who's the helmsman, the.
- 42:58Speaker 9: Ortega when she was on planet and she liked the
- 43:01Speaker 9: bug things right, she got a little freaked out. Remember
- 43:04Speaker 9: she had the gorn. Something happened with her and the gorn.
- 43:09Speaker 9: Is there a connection there.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I know, bugs and lizards, it's you know, that's the
- 43:14Speaker 3: other thing.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Once they realized there were dinosaurs on this planet. I
- 43:17Speaker 2: mean then gorn were a little tiny dinosaurs. Yeah, Like
- 43:21Speaker 2: I would have liked a little reference to her past experience,
- 43:25Speaker 2: a little PTSD uh yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 9: Something, That's what I'm thinking that maybe something's there. I
- 43:31Speaker 9: don't know, because sometimes they have like a little easter
- 43:34Speaker 9: egg and this is gonna be about like it kind
- 43:37Speaker 9: of comes around to the end, right.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I thought it would have been funny if they were
- 43:41Speaker 3: like the Universal Translator can't make heads or tails of
- 43:43Speaker 3: this language. Oh it's because it's dinosaurs and they're just roaring.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 9: Or when Scotty says, you know when the alert button's
- 43:52Speaker 9: going off, is like the buttons there are there?
- 43:54Speaker 4: You know that?
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 3: But yeah, that was pretty good. But there's a lot
- 44:01Speaker 3: of characters that really had nothing to do, like, oh,
- 44:03Speaker 3: we're a like was just.
- 44:05Speaker 2: There just there? Yeah, Hey, hey she can be wherever
- 44:12Speaker 2: she wants. Yeah, you hear me.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Someone's gonna get hurt next year the next episode.
- 44:17Speaker 3: So don't worry, that's right.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Yeah, somebody's going to the sick bay.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Yeah, even number one was just there.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but they but they gave them stuff to do.
- 44:29Speaker 2: She got. They gave her the promotion. They you know,
- 44:31Speaker 2: Horror had nothing to do, so they gave her the
- 44:33Speaker 2: interaction with the with the Vulcan cadet. You know, they
- 44:38Speaker 2: find stuff for them. Only ten it's only ten episodes,
- 44:41Speaker 2: you gotta.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I know that's what sucks.
- 44:45Speaker 3: What about Pike's promotion? What are we gonna do with that?
- 44:48Speaker 3: You think that's how we're gonna write them out so
- 44:50Speaker 3: that he can take over?
- 44:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know now, And I think he's too
- 44:57Speaker 5: big of it, as big of.
- 44:58Speaker 2: A star when he when he gets hurt? Is he
- 45:03Speaker 2: is he a commodore or is he a captain?
- 45:06Speaker 5: That's true, he could be a comedy I don't I
- 45:09Speaker 5: don't remember.
- 45:09Speaker 2: It's been a while.
- 45:11Speaker 3: He's gonna be out tour with Lionel Richie.
- 45:12Speaker 5: One of the comment like one memory alpha and look
- 45:15Speaker 5: that up.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that that would be that. That has
- 45:22Speaker 2: to be the conclusion to the show. Yes, is him
- 45:27Speaker 2: getting hurt? Yeah, unless they're unless they're just throwing that no,
- 45:33Speaker 2: because they established in that other time travel episode where
- 45:35Speaker 2: him and the monster rooms in the future came back
- 45:38Speaker 2: and said, Nope, if if you don't do this, you know,
- 45:43Speaker 2: the timeline is doomed. So it is going to happen.
- 45:47Speaker 2: He is going to get injured like that. So yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 2: I I hope that's the last episode. I hope they
- 45:57Speaker 2: don't end the show and it's just like, yep, sometime
- 46:01Speaker 2: in the future he gets injured, but we're not going
- 46:03Speaker 2: to show it to you.
- 46:04Speaker 9: Yeah, And I hope we get a good ending. I mean,
- 46:07Speaker 9: I hope we get something that's not rust and stupid.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I feel like I feel like they could do something
- 46:15Speaker 3: where they're for whatever reason they put it that, like
- 46:18Speaker 3: his consciousness goes out of his body and it's somewhere else,
- 46:22Speaker 3: and so when he's stuck in the chair, it's just
- 46:25Speaker 3: a husk of what he used to be and somehow
- 46:28Speaker 3: Pike lives like I could see them doing something crazy
- 46:31Speaker 3: like that, you.
- 46:31Speaker 9: Know, I don't know or what they could do is
- 46:34Speaker 9: the episode where Spock and Kurk drop them off at
- 46:39Speaker 9: the planet Oh Wild.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Bill says he thinks they promoted him after the accident,
- 46:43Speaker 3: like an honorary kind of thing.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:46Speaker 2: And then you know what was interesting that I can't
- 46:50Speaker 2: remember what word it was that he used, but when
- 46:54Speaker 2: the Martians said that their their language has like twelve
- 46:58Speaker 2: words for it, oh, for.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Alone, and it was widower.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yeah, I thought that was interesting.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Well, like we said, he might have the girlfriend statue
- 47:12Speaker 3: and he's throwing jackets on it.
- 47:14Speaker 2: But you know, but then that also okay, So see
- 47:18Speaker 2: that raises questions though, because then in the Menagerie when
- 47:22Speaker 2: he when when he goes to uh live out the
- 47:27Speaker 2: rest of his days, you know, in that imaginary paradise
- 47:32Speaker 2: that they create for him, wouldn't that be with admiral girlfriend?
- 47:36Speaker 5: You would think, I know, that's what I thought, you know,
- 47:39Speaker 5: and then I Relands is like, no, that's not her,
- 47:41Speaker 5: that's another lady.
- 47:42Speaker 3: So hey, Captain Bike is moving on. He move new
- 47:47Speaker 3: character to explore.
- 47:51Speaker 5: Elsewhere.
- 47:53Speaker 3: That's right, that's all right. He's like, I gotta make
- 47:56Speaker 3: first contact in the worlds.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Baby, sorry, you guys are terrible grow up.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 48:03Speaker 5: He's like he's like fixing the hair.
- 48:05Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, he's throwing on the petrolia oil. He's
- 48:10Speaker 3: got return of the macplane.
- 48:11Speaker 5: As he gets ready, he puts on a gold chain.
- 48:16Speaker 3: That's right. Oh my lord, he's got the chest hair
- 48:22Speaker 3: like some sort of seventies all right, yeah, okay, if
- 48:25Speaker 3: we're talking about pimped down, we're pretty much that's the wall.
- 48:30Speaker 3: That's just the wall. We just it, all right, just question.
- 48:33Speaker 5: Then you followed any.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Of that, Yeah, a little bit we did at the
- 48:35Speaker 3: top of the news. Okay, nothing really major. They're just
- 48:40Speaker 3: they talked about the movie. They're working on it, that,
- 48:44Speaker 3: oh that other stuff. I've had family in from out
- 48:47Speaker 3: of town. I have yet to look into that. I've
- 48:49Speaker 3: got some downtime this morning. I'm gonna look into it
- 48:51Speaker 3: because I want to know.
- 48:53Speaker 9: But uhh, who's gonna play ghost Rider?
- 48:56Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 48:56Speaker 3: I saw that. Yeah, Yeah, Ryan Gosling's gonna bear ghost Rider.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Oh I saw Project Hill Mary. What do you think
- 49:04Speaker 2: that was really good? Yeah? That was really good. Amaze right,
- 49:07Speaker 2: I'll be honest, I don't know if I've seen Ryan
- 49:13Speaker 2: Gosling in anything else.
- 49:17Speaker 3: He's fantastic as Ken in the Barbie movie.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't see Barbie, yeah can Yeah, I don't
- 49:26Speaker 2: know if I've seen him in anything else, but he's
- 49:29Speaker 2: a really good actor. Yeah, you know, I just thought
- 49:33Speaker 2: he I was like a pretty face. No, he's he's
- 49:37Speaker 2: he's a good actor.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's great.
- 49:39Speaker 2: He's great.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Drive where he's like this like barely speaks, speak.
- 49:46Speaker 5: Hardly, but he's just a get away driver, a cold jacket.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Drive is a good movie. You might like that, Okay, Yeah,
- 49:55Speaker 3: I just saw Obsession, the movie that everyone was going
- 49:58Speaker 3: nuts for. It's on streaming on Peacock fan movie.
- 50:02Speaker 2: I don't even know what that is. I'm so I'm
- 50:04Speaker 2: so out of it.
- 50:04Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's a horror movie. It's almost like The Monkeys.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Pa.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it is like careful what you wish were that
- 50:11Speaker 3: kind of thing? Yea guy wishes that this girl was
- 50:14Speaker 3: in love with him and it goes bad.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Yeah, she's in love with them.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Oh she's she's obsessed with them for sure.
- 50:21Speaker 5: Yeah yeah yeah, yeah, but it's it's it's really good.
- 50:25Speaker 3: It's very good.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't I don't know how old your kids are,
- 50:29Speaker 5: but probably not watching with them.
- 50:30Speaker 3: So yeah, not a kid movie. Yeah, all right, Well, yeah,
- 50:36Speaker 3: we'll be back next week. Got more episodes, you know,
- 50:38Speaker 3: col Scott will probably be.
- 50:39Speaker 11: Back, so you guys, guys see Spider Man probably okay,
- 50:45Speaker 11: probably by then, so yeah, so yeah, next week we'll
