- 0:12Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Half-Faith, Let It Begin.
- 0:16Remember when you called someone's house and had to ask, is your friend home?
- 0:21When getting together meant knocking
- 0:23on a door and taking a picture meant waiting to see how it came out.
- 0:28We didn't have everything at our fingertips, but we had moments that still stay with us today.
- 0:34So let's revisit life before cell phones, and sometimes let's talk about the
- 0:41good old days, something those days can teach us about being present.
- 0:46Because have faith, let it begin.
- 0:48Tuesday edition, October 6, 2026 starts.
- 0:58Welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin. This is Ariel Santana.
- 1:02Can you believe I'm seven years old already? I'm old enough now to introduce my dad.
- 1:08Ladies and gentlemen, your host, my dad, Angel Santana.
- 1:48Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Have Faith, Let It Begin on this
- 1:51Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
- 1:54You know, Have Faith, Let It Begin is coming up on 10 years next year,
- 1:59and I'm excited to tell you that there'll be a big announcement coming up in
- 2:01the holiday season about what we're going to do for 10 years.
- 2:04So just put that in the back of your mind and we'll continue.
- 2:07Today, we're talking about before cell phones, the memories,
- 2:11the conversations, and the little things we might miss without realizing it. Conversations lead in.
- 2:17What's one thing remembering that I can think of? What's the one thing you remember
- 2:21doing before you had a cell phone?
- 2:24Well, maybe memorizing your best friend's number, carrying change for a payphone,
- 2:29or hearing your family call you inside after an afternoon playout edition of
- 2:34what we called it, just playing outside.
- 2:36For me, this brings up a bigger question.
- 2:39When was the last time we gave somebody our attention?
- 2:42Without checking anything else.
- 2:45Here's a spiritual message for you. I am grateful that today we can reach someone
- 2:49quickly, share encouragement, and pray with people who live far away.
- 2:55That connection can be a blessing. But sometimes, even while we're connecting
- 3:00to everyone, we struggle to be present.
- 3:03With the person sitting beside us, we struggle.
- 3:07Think about how Jesus made room for people. He listened. He noticed those others overlooked.
- 3:13He welcomed interruptions because the people coming to him mattered.
- 3:19You know, we can carry the same love into ordinary moments. Listen to your children's stories.
- 3:24Ask someone how they're doing and give them time to answer.
- 3:29Spend a few quiet moments, minutes with God without rushing to the next thing.
- 3:34We don't have to return to the past to recover something good from it.
- 3:38Today, we can choose to give someone our full attention.
- 3:42Here's our prayer for today. Heavenly Father, thank you for the people you have
- 3:46placed in our lives and the memories we carry with us.
- 3:50Help us notice the moments unfolding right in front of us.
- 3:55Teach us to listen. Teach us to listen and be patient. Love with intention and
- 4:00make room for you in our day.
- 4:03For anyone feeling lonely, bring meaningful connection and remind them that they are seen and loved.
- 4:10We pray this in your precious name, in Jesus' name. Amen. I'm going to have
- 4:14half faith, let it begin.
- 4:16And I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day as I actually play with a cell phone
- 4:21here and there throughout the day.
- 4:22My next question to you is this. When was the last time you took a few minutes
- 4:26away from your cell phone and gave that time to our Heavenly Father? Think about that.
- 4:32Have a great day and never forget to have faith and let it begin.
